Pettable provides emotional support animal (ESA) resources, such as ESA letters from licensed therapists and online psychiatric service dog training. An ESA letter may be required by a landlord to allow you to keep your support animal in housing that otherwise prohibits pets. If you're not approved for a letter, Pettable provides a full refund. I came across Pettable when I was dealing with some issues regarding service dog training. My husband, who had dementia, had a trained service dog, but after he passed away, the airlines wouldn't accept the dog as a service animal for me. Since I'm 84 and the dog is vital to my lifestyle now that my husband is gone, I did some research and found Pettable online. I looked at what they had available and decided to reach out to them. Once I understood the website, it was very easy to deal with. Pettable was very helpful and I went through the training process.
The training process was excellent. They offered 15 modules, and since the dog was already certified for public access training, I only needed to review those. The primary focus was on actual service training and that took a lot less time.
Interacting with Pettable's representatives was also a pleasant experience. They were professional and promptly responded to all my requests and inquiries, typically within 24 hours or less.
I would absolutely recommend Pettable to anyone facing similar training issues. Private trainers can be quite expensive, as I know from experience, and Pettable offered a very good alternative at a fair price.
Overall, I rate my experience with Pettable a 5 out of 5 in all aspects, including the training process, customer service, website ease of use, and fair pricing.

I used Pettable's ESA services because I was moving to an apartment where having a certification for my pet meant I wouldn't have to pay a deposit or pet rent. They came highly recommended on Google, which is why I chose them over other companies. Their website was also very easy to use and I completed everything online without speaking to anyone initially. Later, I had an interview with their therapist over the phone, who then sent me the necessary paperwork. I signed up to get my cat certified as an ESA. I completed the survey and then met with a licensed therapist, and ultimately received the letter, but I thought I was going to receive a general certification. As far as the letter, it sounded extremely generic and I suspect it was the same letter this doctor sends out to all of her clients, which was disappointing and I would think raises a red flag.

Although I had some issues getting the payment through, my chat conversation with Leandro was fantastic. The problem was resolved very quickly. I had a conversation the next day and a day later I had my letter for emotional support dog. Of course is it is not a service dog, the status does help a lot. Liked working with this company.

The entire process of acquiring a letter was simple and easy. The intake call to me was very fast and abrupt for the cost. The counselor barely said hello and I felt like another check off their list. To be fair, I am (or was) and I guess beggars can’t be choosers but don’t expect a conversation. Keep it light and dry.

I have paid for the package in order to get the forms completed and have sent a message but still have not received the forms. It's been about a week now. I sent a follow up message so we will see. I just think it's weird how quickly the money is needed but then it is not followed the same with how timely I need the forms.

At first I didn't receive a phone call for my interview because the number was coming through as spam and my phone automatically declined it. Once I was finally able to talk to someone the process was smooth and I received my ESA letter, which my apartment complex accepted easily. Very easy and quick. Had a nice call with the provider Kay. Came faster than expected and had no issues at all. Would recommend to all of my friends with animals. Ended up saving me money in the long run rather than paying the non refundable pet fee at my apartment and not having to pay pet rent.

The process to sign up was simple. The phone call with the doctor was on time and thorough. She asked many questions and was very kind. My letter was in my email in a few days. I like that if I was not deemed eligible for the ESA, I would get a refund.

Took a while to get my letter back even though they said it would take max 48 hours. Turns out the problem was they didn’t have my pronouns but I didn’t receive any notice about that being the hold-up. Then when I did get the letter it said dogs when I have cats so I had to reach out to get that fixed. In the end, everything worked out, but it was just annoying to have to do all the back and forth.

I recently needed an ESA letter for my dog to move in to a new apartment, but didn't have a PCP. The overall process is incredibly user-friendly. I love how they do annual reminders and discounts offered for reissuing each year. The very large and disappointing issue I have is with the therapist that I speak with. I have now used this service for 3 years and have gotten the same therapist, Karen ** each time. Speaking with her each year fills me with anxiety. Ha which is quite ironic. She is incredibly dismissive and condescending. It is actually quite shocking that she is in the business of helping people. I legitimately feel like I am in trouble and burdening her each year. I tried to assume that maybe she was having a bad day... but the same experience has now happened 3 times.
I have valid reasoning to have an ESA and don't appreciate the way she makes me feel like I am abusing the system. I am a paramedic and ensure that each patient I see doesn't feel shamed for seeking help regardless of their reasoning. I especially believe that as a provider in the mental health industry, that mentality should be the top of your priority list. Unfortunately, for this reason, I will not be continuing my service with Pettable.

So far, it’s been an easy and efficient experience. Since I’m obtaining ESA letters for California, I have to have an established relationship with my therapist for 30 days. The staff that I had to email with was very helpful, and my licensed mental health professional was wonderful to work with. The only thing that I think could have made the process easier would be at sign up having a way to get started with more than two pets. The way it happened to me. I signed up and then had my appointment canceled, which felt very scary to me, and I later got an email explaining that I could reschedule for a different LMHP that's okay with more than two.

I found Pettable last year when I realized how much having my two kitties benefitted me. As an individual with Audhd, having little dependents forces me out of executive disorder slumps and gets me moving. Pet deposits and pet rent really builds up, and I wanted to have them properly certified. Pettable was professional, transparent and friendly. I got my property manager the letter within two days. They also equip you with your legal rights and your local/state laws in case you have a combative landlord. I left my email registered for the year and only heard from them when it was time to renew! Really convenient and when I reached out they were friendly and quick. I’ve recommended them to many friends who have also benefitted from the service. This company really does believe in protecting quality of life.

While I was trying to get this ESA letter the woman Karen was very rude and it felt more like an interrogation more than anything. After everything I said there was rude feedback. I also never got money back. I honestly was too shook up to really answer any of her questions because she made me very nervous. Every other person that has recommended me this website was very surprised by my experience. I’m sure you all are very helpful but that was one of the worst customer services I experienced in my whole life. I’m also sure not all of the workers are like this. Since I was not approved I would like to receive my refund back like you all said I would.

My landlord didn’t accept the letter I received and said the therapist wasn’t licensed for my city. I’m very disappointed with the outcome and feel the website is misleading when it clearly states licensed in DC. The process was simple and easy. I do wish there had been more communication. There was an option to message the therapist but I never heard anything back. I recently came across Pettable while searching online to register my dogs as Emotional Support Animals (ESAs). I was dealing with mental health challenges, and my pets greatly support me. Initially, my landlord allowed pets but later changed his policy, which made finding new accommodations difficult. I didn't want to part with my pets because they play such a crucial role in my well-being, helping me get out of bed in the mornings.
After discussing with my therapist, who had already suggested registering one of my dogs as an ESA, I decided to move forward with the process. The first registration was fairly straightforward and took four business days. However, the second time was more challenging due to delays in communication with my therapist, extending it to a month.

Therapist was prompt and did not make me wait long for call. Process was overall very speedy and less anxiety inducing than I originally thought it would be. I don’t really have much else to say about the process as it was very quick. Price was okay; it could be lower/covered by insurance. The price was considerably cheaper than paying pet fees at an apartment though.

I just got my dog in May. I learned about the Emotional Support Program and I wanted to qualify her so that she could travel with me. So, I did research on the web and chose Pettable. I did have questions for Pettable that I was gonna write back to them because the experience was very easy and the therapist was very nice. She gave me a letter of recommendation, but when I talked to other people, they have badges for their dogs. They have all of these things. I don't have any of that. So, I feel like, "Is this even qualify her for emotional support?" What I got was not even an authorization. It's just a letter of recommendation.
The therapist did tell me there's approval through the Fair Housing Act, but when I looked at other people's paraphernalia that they got that aligns with the America Housing Act, they have their badges that go on their harness and they have a card and tags and everything that looks legitimate where I just have a letter of recommendation. I'm a new pet owner. I talked to the therapist and she said, "Yes, you did the right thing by choosing us." They got back to me in 48 hours. They assigned the therapist. She was very professional. The overall process was easy, but I'm questioning if the deliverable is going to be effective.

I felt as though they were very accommodating because I had a very tight time window and they were very understanding of my situation and how important my dog is to my well-being. Being a caretaker for a spouse with Lewy body dementia is very stressful and requires you to be responsible for nearly everything, including the well-being of your loved one. I was looking up the best place to get my pet registered as an ESA in Google and I saw Pettable come up on Instagram. The process was easy and took less than a week. I submitted my request and filled out a survey over my mental health. I had a psych practitioner reach out to me and I talked to her and she sent my documentation over after evaluating me. The lady I spoke to was great and came back to me quickly. If I had any questions, she messaged me back and was super nice on the phone whenever I talked to her. Straightforward procedure with an option of annual renewal with a monthly payment and that allows you to never run out off your coverage. More serious procedure with interviews and serious procedures of interaction between applicant and the pet. The only suggestion is to add tags identifying the pet and owner so we don't have to carry the letter/document everywhere you got to show.

The process was incredibly easy. I set up an appointment. I had to make my little account and add a picture of my cat. But it did give me a grace period. The rep had it done immediately. Then I had a phone call appointment and told the psychiatrist my diagnosis. We talked about my cat for a while. He asked if I had any health problems related to the cat and I said, "No." That was it. But I still haven't gotten my note yet. Since I live in Arkansas, it takes a month to get it because you have to have the month relationship with your therapist. I initially had the appointment November 15th. But I have to wait until the 16th because the 15th is a weekend day.

My psychiatrist said that she couldn't do the ESA paperwork 'cause I just switched psychiatrist. And a) she didn't know my history, b) she doesn't do that period. I was like, "What do I do?" 'Cause I was moving into a new place. I didn't really have the opportunity to be able to go back to my old psychiatrist and ask for that updated ESA paperwork. But the Pettable rep was so sweet. I enjoyed our conversation. Their service was good. I've never used a site like that before. I would definitely recommend it to other people because it was very easy to use and I enjoyed it.

The therapist that wrote my letter did keep in mind the responses I typed in my forms but she didn't list the names of my dogs. I think that she should have done that to make the letter more legit (but that is just my opinion). The therapist did call me a little bit earlier than my scheduled time but she did directly call my phone and did not use the website to do a video call (which I thought was great). The therapist was trusting in my responses to her questions relating to my current and past mental health problems and felt confident recommending my ESA letter from the symptoms that I listed.

Everyone was helpful in many ways. They are all truly professional and worked in a timely fashion to address my needs and concerns. This was for the renewal of my ESA certification. I didn't have the full fee available when my previous letter was about to expire because of a change in my pay schedule, but the representatives were willing to work with me as long as I scheduled my interview by the end of the month. Had to pay up more because of some landlord issues or whatever. The payment plan isn’t fully explained either but I figured out after they charged me for the service that they will continue to charge me for the months to come in order to make their bundle “cheaper”. They have yet to send me the Amazon gift card and have yet to respond to my email concerning the matter. All in all I am happy that my disabled self can still be with my ESAs when all other doctors just thought I was being rather silly about the whole ordeal.

I wanted to get a dog for my anxiety and my depression and I wanted to make it official. And I reached out to Pettable, had my interview with the therapist. I got approved. I've used uh Pettable one time before and it was a very quick and simple process. It didn't take too much time. I got my ESA after the phone call. Other apartment complexes usually require their own form signed, and they were able to provide that as well. When I went to get it renewed, the phone call took five seconds, even less than the first phone call. The reps were fairly professional. They were down-to-earth and easy to talk to.

Pettable was the first one that I found that didn't require adding registrations and since the registration is not something that exists, it would be more reliable than the other companies that offered sending a card with the information of the dog. I first used Pettable two years ago and the process was very simple and easy. It gives you what you need and the service is of very good quality. In the beginning. I thought it was too simple. I expected to prove more stuff. It wasn’t anything bad because I hadn't had any issues. So, it is how it is. I just had other expectations. They referred me to a psychologist and she sent me a form to evaluate depression and anxiety. That was the diagnosis I had from my doctor and after she reviewed the form, she called me, made some follow-up questions and then provided me with the letter.

The procedure to request an Emotional Support Animal letter was very easy, namely an online questionnaire and a telephone consultation with a person qualified to assess the need for the ESA letter. The letter arrived within 48 hours. It has been submitted to the management here and I have not been notified of any problems. I hope this means it has been accepted.

I am outraged at a $50 fee to verify the authenticity of the letter. I never saw that as a fee but that could be my fault for not looking close enough. Nevertheless, I think it is outrageously high. I will not be using your services again.

Responsive, timely and patient- They understood what I needed, and asked simple questions. I plan to renew with them yearly when the time comes, fast and easy..When it came time to call, they actually left me a voicemail earlier, so I called the number direct, and was welcomed with a very enthused individual, who walked me thru the law, the what ifs, and what to do, and how this supports everything that I am trying to do. I am so happy with the service. I got a notice from my HOA that I had 10 days to get paperwork sorted with my dog (this was totally on me procrastinating) and Pettable made it happen. I didn't even have to pay for a rush on anything, they just were that good! I will say, the only hiccup (which was probably on me and not on Pettable) was that my letter came from a LISCW while my forms said I needed a doctor, and I probably missed where Pettable listed credentials. With that being said, I wish the differentiation was maybe bolder, but it could just be that in my haste I missed it. Pettable was easy to use, they were pretty quick and I will definitely be recommending them to anyone who needs it!

Navigating through Pettable was effortless and easy to understand. I needed an ESA letter for my dog and because of my work schedule, I couldn’t go in office for it. Everything went fine until therapist sent letter to housing. Their comment was it was not needed for accommodations for housing. So I did this for nothing. They needed it for moving in but don’t need it yearly. The complex never asked me for an update on ESA letter so I wasted $99.00.

My experience was wonderful, I do however think all aspects should be explained further. Like the expiration date on the letter and fee associated with renewal. I feel the ESA letter should not have an expiration date, but a name stamp of the therapists and his/her lic# for its authenticity. And as far as a renewal fee it should be free for your current patients. Because they will still need the letter but the landlord may not require an updated version. So if you have to charge a fee because of upkeep, then a discounted fee should be as low as possible, not the same as the initial cost, because you do not know a patient financial situation, they may have saved just to pay that fee. if the whole point is to keep the ESA with their owner and save them from paying rental fees then Pettable should not be charging renewal fees to their patients. By charging a fee the only difference is it’s going to Pettable in place of the landlord.

I like that Pettable is managed through an app so I could just get on there and find the documents. I don't have to keep them anywhere. Also, they ran a promotion at the time so it was a couple of dollars cheaper than the next one that also ran a promotion. I set up an account, and once that is done, I filled out some paperwork on the front end like a couple of surveys about why I needed the ESA. Once all of those were entered, Pettable set up a 15-minute phone call. After that, there was a 24-hour period, and I got the form loaded into the app and an email that the form was ready.
It all seemed straightforward. I would equate it to the exact process as getting a medical ** card. I'm assuming that the person I talked to at Pettable was a vet. It's nice that they cut the red tape part of it so I could just do what I need for it all to get approved without having to look up what was necessary to make it happen. I used it in Canton. I moved to Toledo and I've used it here too, and it was smooth both times.

I was seeing a therapist for a little bit in 2023 and she suggested Pettable because she herself was not able to provide the ESA letter. I was trying to move from Texas to Florida and I have a German Shepherd and I didn't want to have to get rid of my dog when I made a move like that. I paid a fee and I took a little quiz to determine my eligibility or why I wanted an ESA. They asked about mental conditions and anxiety, depression, treatments, if I've ever had any treatments for that kind of stuff. Pettable is something to consider if you find yourself in a situation. I wanted to be able to take my dog with me and not have to worry about apartments not allowing him because he's a restricted breed. Animals can really help your mental health and they're important to have around.

I received my letter in a timely manner. I submitted it to my landlord and adopted my cat the same day. I even recommended it to one of the employees on campus who helps students register service animals because she was looking for an alternative and cheaper option to recommend to students.

California has specific requirements and when I found Pettable online, I looked at reviews and decided to go with them. The process was really simple and clear. There was some initial intake stuff, then I scheduled a time to speak with a doctor. Pettable walked me through each step and made it super easy. Pettable is good. I did all of the process online, and it was easy. Everything went smooth, and it was quick. There are some places that don't accept the ESA, but for the most part, it seemed to be helpful. I renewed it the next year.

I was searching for an ESA company to help combat my issues with moving into my apartment because I rely on my dog a lot. I did a little research and Pettable came up as a recommended source. I did the ESA consultation with the registered therapist and then the ESA letter. The service was good and efficient. The consultation paperwork was thorough enough to give me ballpark of what I was expecting and what their purpose was. The customer service was very responsive as well. However, it's 150 bucks for this letter and it's a little steep especially as far as the renew. More components could be included into that package (for example, a discount at local pet stores, on teeth cleanings or baths) as opposed to just the letter. Besides that, this is my second year using Pettable, and so far, so good. I've already referred them.

I'm a cancer patient and I suffer from depression and anxiety. I have two cats that are very important for my emotional health. They've been with me through my cancer journey. I live alone and they're my emotional support system. I was moving into an apartment and Pettable enabled me to bring my pets with me and not have to worry about the added burden of a monthly pet rental and of a high deposit fee. They took the stress of trying to find an apartment where I could have my fur kids with me. They worked with my apartment manager and he accepted it without question. He said everything was in order and very professionally done so I've had no problems. Pettable also follows up with me. Every time you have your lease renewed, sometimes the manager requires a new letter. They're very good about reminding me about it.
I was very impressed with the way the website is laid out. I worked with them online and I was impressed because they were very professional and prompt. They explained to me that an emotional support animal is not a service animal. It doesn't give you the right to take them into restaurants. People abuse that. They're not a fly-by-night kind of outfit that say, "You can take your animal into any restaurant or get them on the airplane."
Pettable is worth every penny. I love them and highly recommend them for people in my situation. They're very upfront and gave a guarantee in writing. They checked the state where I was going to, to make sure that everything was legal and above board. They said, "For any reason it's not accepted, we'd refund your money. No question asked." When I moved to California, they set me up with a local psychologist if I had to renew it. If I had any questions and I contacted them, they were very prompt, which I appreciated. They got back to me immediately. The psychologist I spoke to was very professional as well.

Pettable was in my price range. I answered some questions, put my information online, and Pettable processed it. A doctor contacted me in a day or two, we sat and talked for 20 minutes, and boom, it was done. It was easy and quick. I'm a college student so doing the fee to reregister my pet for her to get the ESA was a little tricky. Money is tight. But that's the only thing I complain about.

The therapist I spoke to was kind of rude. She was very aggressive and almost made me feel guilty for inquiring to get an ECA letter. There was another client with the same name as me and she insisted that I hadn't done my intake when I had. She didn't seem prepared. I'm going to need another letter next year, but I hope I get a different therapist next time.

Wendy was great to work with, very charismatic and personable and accommodating. I was able to schedule a consultation and have my ESA status approved and ready to go for a landlord to see within 48 hours. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get an ESA letter. I have had a very positive experience with Pettable after the nightmare I endured with another ESA company. Communication was top notch and I was able to schedule my ESA consult immediately. There was an additional charge in order for my assessor to speak with the company verifying the information. This is already a very expensive service and this additional charge shows me I will be going with a different option next time as I ended up paying over $200 by the end. They list the price as being between $99-169, however I saw nothing for the $99 option and I only saw the $169 or higher and they don’t tell you upfront that you’ll have to pay additional fees for verification of your letter which should be included already for that price.

I've tried other companies before and Pettable was the one that I decided to stick with due to their customer service and the overall user-friendly experience. I was already diagnosed with a disability so I was ahead of the game, but once you get your appointment scheduled, it's very quick. It usually takes only an hour or two to schedule the appointment. So far, everybody's been great. My ESA provides comfort when I'm down. They help me get motivated to get out of bed and also go outside of my home. They make me feel more comfortable being around strangers.

I needed to have an ESA put in place for my dog, so that we could bring him to a condominium. Pettable hooked me up with a provider that would issue the ESA letter. But the process was a little wonky. You sign up and pay, and then you have to do something else and then schedule with a provider. But overall, the service was good.

Pettable makes everything simple. You can talk to someone and they actually understand what you're going through. The best part is they don't pass judgment. They ask you about your mental health and you can tell them everything that you've gone through, and they're just understanding of it. They would let you know, “Hey, due to the law is kind of changing, some places are trying not to allow ESAs. Just be careful.” They're also very informative of everything as well. It's been amazing. Pettable looked like the most legit among the companies that provide the ESA and the first time I used them, the rep who assisted me was really good. The second time I used them, the rep I got was very short and to the point. I was looking up places to get a reputable document for an ESA animal. I tried some other ones, and they came off scammy. Pettable seemed the most reputable. It felt a little more professional. My rep was very informative, very calm, and very patient. She helped make the process very easy. She even helped me figure out where everything was out online. She was very prompt. I had a great experience with her.
As far as the service, I was able to get the document that I needed and send it to my property owner. They accepted it. They didn't have any questions. They had sent a specific form that they wanted filled out, and she filled that out for me as well. They're able to work with requests as well. I got a reminder when I needed to update it because they're good for only a year. It's not like a pay fee and they send you a new one. They still have you go through and fill out more information to make sure that you're still eligible for them to review.
So, I didn't feel like I was being scammed or I was scamming anyone. I felt like even though I was using it to get an ESA document, it also felt good that I was talking to somebody as well. They're asking questions they need in order to evaluate you, but they do approach it like a therapy session, so they are talking to you and there is a real life therapist listening to you even if it was outside of needing an ESA letter.
I work from home so I'm alone all the time with the exception of having my dog. He gets me outside, but sometimes, you forget if you're just so focused on work or focused on things you need to do. But when you're taking care of somebody, you have to go outside and socialize him. Also, he helps socialize me because I take him out to coffee shops and people see him and stuff and then talk to him. So, it has both expanded the positivity in my life because being able to socialize more, but also being just a level of calm and comfort because I am alone a lot of times, and he's always around. So you kind of have this little life-size stuffed animal.

I found the content and presentation to be well-structured and clear. I appreciated the video presentations for clarity in techniques. The training followed a logical sequence and increased in difficulty. The support materials/links were also helpful. Love that they give you access to actual therapists to help with accommodations. Dr. Gina **, LPC was wonderful and she gets 5 stars. Only reason my overall is 4 stars is because she wasn't the first one assigned to me. My first one had an emergency shortly before our appointment and all I got was an email saying our appointment was canceled with no explanation. Stressed out and emotional, my husband called for me. Albeit not Pettable's fault for the emergency, but they should be calling us not the other way around. They did manage to get me right in with Dr. **, so that my world didn't unravel. Thank you for that!

I had a friend who had some emotional difficulties and she was trying to get into an apartment in Miami and they said they didn't allow cats. It was a big problem because every winter, I visit my mom in Miami as well and they have the same rule. I happen to have an unfortunate genetic condition and I get great comfort from my cat. So, she recommended highly that I reach out to Pettable. Joy, the rep, has been wonderful, compassionate and a real expert.
It's the third year that I've requested ESA documentation. In the process, you state that you feel that you're a person of need and they put you in touch with a therapist. That therapist sees whether or not you qualify for it by asking you questions. You also have to fill out some forms. So, they make sure that you are eligible for it. You can never be sure enough. I visit my 90-year-old mom in Miami and even though the building has tons of dogs, for some reason, they said you can't bring a cat. It’s ridiculous. So, you wanna make sure all your bases are covered and there's not gonna be any additional problems. Pettable is quite a relief.
