    Petco is a good store to run into and get your basics. Depending on each store, you may, or may not get, knowledgeable advice. Recently, I made a return, and it was done efficiently and easily.

    We tried their training program and were not impressed but it accomplishes its purpose: you will usually find what you seek. No complaints, big and good selection means a bit less personal attention.

    Petco's prices are outrageously high and discourage me from shopping there unless it is a dire emergency. The variety of cat food brands has fallen. While they do support animal adoption, and their customer service is acceptable, it certainly is not terrific.

    I had to call several times to get an answer to where my regularly scheduled delivery was. 1st call: "Don't worry it will be there Friday." Friday: No food. Have to go and spend to get food. Saturday, 2nd call: "Oh don't worry it will be there tomorrow." Saturday... No delivery. 3rd Call: "Oh, let me see. It's held up at the delivery depot and there is no reason why. Let me reorder the food and put the order on expedited delivery... You'll get it Wednesday." Well, today is Thursday, and no delivery. 4th call: Don't worry it's out for delivery. PETCO is on the list of companies that I will not do business with.

    I love PETCO for its super affordable treat bar and wide variety of products. However, many of the products seem overpriced. It's definitely still my go-to, but I wish they would re-evaluate their pricing.

    We got our cat from PETCO as a kitten. Well taken care of, all necessary paperwork; conversation about her 'siblings'; only negative is we purchased toys some with feathers and our vet advised us that was a mistake. But their customer service was excellent, pleasant, timely, informative and the location was clean and attractive and convenient parking. They didn't get upset with our questions and made great suggestions about cat eating and sleeping habits

    Staff is helpful when needed, not pushy or obtrusive. Merchandise is pretty similar to the other competition stores. Not quite as much of a selection as in their competition, but adequate.

    I am a caregiver and I bring my clients to the store to shop for their pets. Yes they can order products online but the fact that this store is pet friendly makes my clients' visits enjoyable. The customer service agents are helpful and kind and totally accepting of my clients in wheelchairs or walkers. And of course the animals are always accepting. The products are on levels they can reach and if they have a question there is always someone around to ask. Great store, great people who work there.

    Worst pet store. Not enough brands, too expensive and useless employees ignore & don't help people. Management is even worse, very rude, nasty, incompetent, and can't resolve the most simple issues. They just don't care or attempt to listen or help customers. The stores are always empty. They need to be like PetSmart. It's a great store in every way. PETCO needs to shut down all stores everywhere. Will never go there again.

    I love Petco. I have only rescue dogs, and they are all different with different needs. They help me with each one, and speak to my dogs when they come in. They also are great at recommending things for them. I will never go anywhere else.

    I like the stores and the service in the stores but the website is an unmitigated disaster. You have to call or chat with someone in order to determine if the item you want is available in your designated store. The website should have the feature which allows the customer to see if the item they wish to purchase is available without going to all this extra time and trouble.

    Groomer pierced my shih tzu, cost $2,800 to remove eye. They fought for 10 months and did not reimburse me $1 even after our vet submitted records. It was their fault. The one on Jericho Turnpike, Mineola, NY.

    It's helpful to have such a wide selection of products. I also like receiving occasional coupons which help reduce the cost of products that I buy. However, I wish that all the pet stores would agree to press the government to rate pet foods and medicines.

    Due to my limited mobility, I have to depend on groomers to bathe my dog and do his claws. What bothers me is that I ask for the same service every time and I'm told that I had done upgraded services at previous visits. I purposely ask now to make sure I'm not upsold without my knowledge.

    I love this store. Anything I need for my cats and dogs, I know I can find it at Petco and so can you. It's very convenient and can order on the internet sometimes. It can be a little pricey but they do have really good sales and this is the best store. They have everything and for some reason they're out of something, it only takes a few days to get it.

    Petco is one of the better pet stores in CA. The stores are clean and are very user friendly. At checkout everyone is always very pleasant. I purchase toys, and dog products, but I don't purchase their food products.

    They always have good sales and they ask for donations for pets in forms of buying a toy for the holiday and or a cash donation. And the store allows you to take your pets in the store. The store itself doesn't pressure you to buy anything.

    These employees are not doing their job well. So I called them about my turtle injuring its leg, and once I told them about it. They hung up completely. And I was so pissed. I did not know what to do, then I thought my turtle was gonna die. So I said screw this crap. This is B.S guys, don't trust them.

    When I took my small 20lbs dog to Petco they recommend I don't bring her back because she was too hyper, she is 2 years old and year is very playful. Now for the big issue 2 DAYS LATER and since has been coughing, throwing up, gagging and not being her normal playful self. They have the worst customer service. The grooming was not the best cleaned. Turns out she contract KENNEL COUGH. I had to take her to the vet and pay a good amount of money to get my baby back to herself.

    The groomer named Joy did a great job on my dog today. 10/18/2017 everyone is very nice at the McHenry/Johnsburg Petco. I've brought my dog Pepper there for almost two years now. He's very comfortable going there now. He's a very timid 10 year old. Thank you for doing such a great job.

    I brought in my dog Callie on 10/17/17 to get groomed, this was her second time, as she is just six months old. The groomer Mickayla had groomed her the first time also. When I called I requested Mickayla as she did such a great job the first time. Well I was even more impressed this time, not only did she do a beautiful job, my puppy loves her, which is more important to me. Since I'm new at this I had a lot of questions, and Mickayla answered them all. She will be my groomer as long as she wants, and my friends ask she will get an A+ rating from me.

    Our groomer is Amanda at the Petco in Lisbon, CT. We have an older dog from Hurricane Katrina and another rescue dog from NC. They are both mixed-breeds and we adore them. Amanda loves them both and treats them as if they were her own dogs. I would never consider letting anyone but Amanda or the other groomers at this Petco grooms these two babies. I know they are in good hands and given love while there. So happy with the job she is doing!

    Made a mistake with the appointment. Person on phone complained 3 hrs were blocked out and works on commission and I needed to do something about it. The dog was actually just dropped off at the correct groomer location. They handled the situation extremely rude. I'm not sure how they thought I was going to pick up the dog from the groomer he was at and bring him to them instead or pay for a grooming twice for one dog. This incorrect location never called to confirm the appointment. They hung up on me after yelling at me.

    Twice in a row they did not deliver one of the products in what I had subscribed but they charged me. My guess is that they thought I would not realize the order was missing one of the products and they could have a party with the money saved from this. What a headache. At least (reason it's two stars and not one) the first time it happened they did ship what was not shipped and the second time they refunded the $$. But I'm moving to Amazon for the subscription.     Just sitting here feeling angry. It's been about a year since our experience at PETCO but I should have pursued it. And I might even though it may not do me any good… My chocolate lab Mac is 1.5 years old. When he was 8 months old we took him to Petco for his second nail trim. The first one went extremely well and he loved going there.

    This experience was way more than I would like to remember and if I had more time I would lay it all out but ultimately, they cut two nails and he bled all over the floor. Uncontrollable bleeding. Not just something that you would put some powder on it and stop it. When I peeked in to check on him thinking everything was OK while I was shopping. I saw what was occurring and walked in. Before you know it, I was being dragged around on the floor trying to comfort my dog and we both left smelling like pure rancid poison, the floors were disgusting and we just got there at 10 AM, and the only way that I can get my dogs nails trimmed now is to have him sedated for $150 at our vet.

    Again the more I think about this, the more I get angry and blame Petco for their negligence. Thinking back when I called the store to talk about it to their manager, he basically shrugged his shoulders and offered me a refund. Really? Perhaps they should've offered more… Again my dog is scared ** for anyone to touch his nails now and I certainly don't feel like paying that much money every month to sedate my dog (nor is that safe!) to have his nails cut. I'm calling their store tomorrow. And I expect there to be some concern. Likely there will not be.

    So my point… Beware. If you have a concern, no one will call you back and really give a **. Even the girl Annette that worked in the salon told me that the guy that cut my dog's nails off and made him bleed profusely should not have been there and she was trying to get him fired. Really? Who says that? I trusted them with my baby's life. So again the more I think about this, and the documentation that I have, thinking that I should proceed with legal action. This little kid was super outgoing before the situation. Now he doesn't trust anyone including his vet. I mad. :/

    Terrible! If I can rate this Downey, CA PETCO zero stars I would. I have given this place their fair share of opportunities. I get home with my dog and see they did not cut all his nails. They literally left like 4 extremely long, he has the worst patches in the world, the lady over the phone claims to have told me that over the phone when they called me which is bogus! Then while waiting to get my dog this groomer was yelling at this tiny dog instead of asking another groomer to help her. Just a terrible experience. I feel bad I put my little dog in a poor situation. I sure am NEVER going back to this groomer again.

I call this office the first contact was a person he said he will help me since May and still nothing.     When I went into the PETCO store it was clean but when we asked for help it took over 10 minutes for somebody to come over to help us to look for my dog that day. They were understocked for the stuff and we end up going over to the Beats side store to get the stuff for my dog. They need more help in the store because we barely got help in the store that day. My dog is so sick and I was so unhappy. I complained about it and kept on asking if everybody was on break that day. Some people act like they know what I was talking about because my dog had a hookworm and we need medicine for that day and nausea medicine form and they kept important us different directions for it. I was about to give up so we end up going to the Beats because of it.

    I feel that this is more than a coincidence. The neighbor across street purchased 2 mice and 2 Robo hamsters from PETCO. All have died within a 6 month period. Tonight my daughters Teddy Bear Black hamster suddenly passed that we purchased this past March. She is heartbroken and I can't help but feel that something is very wrong with the pets they sell. Has anyone had a similar issue?

    I went to Petco because they are a big name pet supply store. But we were disappointed in the amount or variety of cat food they had. There was more supermarket brands than specialized food. They had no small sacks of the grain free food to try either. We had tried one and our cat's breath and feces smelled awful and we ended up throwing 40.00 worth of food away.

    I look for the best price before purchasing and PETCO is simply the best place to get your pets needs' met under one roof. The store is convenient and the large quantities afford you better pricing. Clean, efficient and caring professional staff makes this a place to shop for all your needs. The staff also really gives the pet adoption center with volunteers included an added plus. My son adopted a cat at the Baldwin Petco.

    Petco - Ramsey, NJ - While the store itself has a good selection and friendly cashiers, the grooming department is going downhill fast. Our dog had been competently groomed here several times, but this time when we took him in, we got a different groomer. After leaving him for 4 hours, we picked him up only to be told she could not groom him (apparently he was too distractible with other dogs in the room), she could not cut his nails (too squirmy), she could not brush him (he kept nipping at the brush) and about 20 other excuses why she could not do the job she is supposed to be a professional at. We have never once come across a groomer who could not groom our dog, including previous, competent groomers at this PETCO. She said that dogs need to be able to stand completely still for an hour, which I find very unrealistic.

    People with regular dogs should not waste their time here. Instead bring their pet to a groomer who is good with pets, knows how to calm them down (most groomers do) and can get the job done right. I'm actually glad that this person didn't groom our dog after all, because some of the other dogs walking out of there looked traumatized, with uneven cuts and patches of pink, raw skin showing. The only good thing is that they didn't charge us for the bath they gave him, and I thought that was fair. But this place needs help.

    I have never been treated and disrespected like I was on 08/06/17 at Petco at Southpoint, Durham, NC by the grooming salon's manager who had the support of one of the store's managers. I have been taking two of my dogs to this store for grooming for many years. This time they were charging me double the amount that I usually pay. I complained about it. The grooming salon manager became disrespectful and defiant and refused to reduce the price. I got upset and asked for the store manager. The store manager came. I got tired and offered to pay the original amount charged. The store manager, completely out of authority, convinced the grooming salon's manager to allow me to pay a more reasonable amount. When they said that I could pay less, I told the grooming salon's manager that if they would not take the entire amount, I would give her the difference as a tip.

    Then when the conflict was supposedly solved, the groomer refused to groom my dog saying that she did not feel comfortable doing it. Nobody said anything to the groomer. The store manager let the grooming salon's manager and the groomer to refuse grooming my dog. I had to leave the store with my dog. It was humiliating. I think what happened had a lot to do with me having an accent. They completely discriminated me against. Find another place to groom your dogs and another store to shop. What they did to me is unacceptable.

    I went to PETCO to adopt a kitten. I found one I wanted and adopted him. That was 3 weeks ago. Monday I had to say good bye to Little Eddy (Everett at Petco). He had FIV. Noncurable virus. Kittens get it from their mother or father. I don't think he should have been offered for adoption. I have not been able to talk to the pet rescue group that put him in Petco. I think Petco should have taken care to ensure the kitten being offered was in good health. Petco said Guardian Angel pet rescue was going to call me. I haven't heard from them.

    I purchased a small animal cage on Amazon from Petco. I took it out of the box and realized immediately that it was way too small for my needs. Being a very good customer of Amazon I assumed that it would be easy to return the item. I put in for a refund and immediately they said I would have to pay over $12 to ship it back via FedEx and I had to locate a FedEx store. There are no FedEx facilities in my town and I would probably have to drive over an hour to find one. I have written several emails to Petco and I was told I could send it back on my own dime but I still would have to pay Petco shipping or I could take it to the store and get a full credit of $53. I think that whole deal is utterly ridiculous.

    I looked at the same cage at the Petco store and it was $30 more than what they sell it for on Amazon, so my only options are to return it and get half my money back or to go to the store and buy overpriced items that I don't need. I checked the price of a water bottle and it was $12.99 at the store and a little over $6 online. I guess they make their money off you when shipping the stuff. I think their return policies are nothing but a racket and their prices are ridiculous. So I guess I'm going to have to drive 45 minutes to go to a Petco to buy overpriced items I don't need. In the future, when I buy from Amazon I will spend the time to read the little fine print on the return policy and if it's sold by Petco I'll do without it. Very surprised such a well known store could be so greedy.

    Planet Petco 100% natural Catnip 2.5 oz size - Who is the genius engineer behind this product container? Where is the recall? Has this been hushed? How many cats have been killed because the super hard plastic jar has an opening just large enough for the cat to get its head stuck inside. The cat can still see, so it can run off to suffocate. We were lucky to have found the cat in time. Also lucky to be able to extract the cat. You are heartless.

    My dog is diabetic and had stopped eating her regular prescription food. I found another one she would eat (Hills Science Diet). I have always ordered from Chewy and received my order within 3 days. Their site said it would ship within 3 days so I ordered. I received a email saying my order had shipped. I got it and it wasn't the complete order. No prescription food at all. Email should of stated part of order had shipped. I was waiting on this as she wouldn't eat the Royal Canin now.

    I called only to find out 3 days later they still hadn't called my vet to get prescription okayed. So I said cancel my order and give me a refund, her answer "I don't know if I can do that. It hadn't even been okayed." Why not?? Finally she did but I ended up paying all the shipping for full 111.95 order. When all I got was a 16.99 item to keep. I paid 9.48 shipping. Total paid for 16.99+9.48= 26.47. Ridiculous!!! I don't recommend this company to anyone who needs what they're ordering anytime soon. Back to chewy.com for me.

    I recently attempted to purchase a cat condo at Petco.com. I came across a particular condo priced at $2.99 and yes that is the correct price that was posted. Regular price was $159.99. So I thought wow. What a deal! I placed my order, received a confirmation email from them for my order. Two days later I received an email stating my order has been cancelled. I called Petco corporate and asked why my order was cancelled without any explanation. I was informed by a "manager" that there was a computer glitch in the pricing and that all the orders on that product had been cancelled.

    I vented my opinion that the glitch wasn't my problem and that the price posted should be honored. "Well there was no way that was going to happen," I was told. I work in retail sales myself. "If there is any items priced wrong in my store we have to honor the price and sell at the posted price," I told her. Needless to say that there wasn't anything offered to me to satisfy my concern or even try to keep me as a customer. Petco is boycotted by me and I was a loyal customer who spent a couple of hundred dollars a month there.

    Tried Petco shipping - cat food cans not even wrapped - many damaged. Call "customer service" and got a young man in the Philippines. Had hard time understanding so had it escalated - and did get to speak with someone in the U.S. who was very helpful. HOWEVER - call center in the Philippines - really - country where they eat dogs and cats and treat them like vermin. This is just mind blowing to me. LAST time shopping at Petco.

    Nobody explained that the test result expires within 30 days to purchase heartworm pills. After 30 days, you wasted money and suffering of your pet. Just to purchase the pills, you need to all the way to the place again and let your pet suffer from blood work then finally you can get.     I have been using PETCO's Repeat Delivery for years now. Sometime over the last month, since my last delivery, they have changed the process of redeeming your Pals rewards automatically. Now you must log in to your account each month before you order ships and load your rewards to your account for them to be used with your repeat delivery. I am very annoyed with this.     Signed up for puppy dog obedience training class. Trainer did not seem to have control of class and allowed misbehaving dogs to completely disrupt class. Went in tonight for 3rd class, saw a large pitbull inside dog training ring. Took a few steps back as I have personally witnessed the aggression of his breed of dog in the past. Dog trainer said come into class, I told him my apprehension about coming inside ring with an aggressive breed of dog. He said everything would be okay. I said okay but if that dog jumps on my dog I'm getting him off. Walked inside ring, pitbull jumped on my dog in an aggressive manner. I said "That's it. I'm leaving." Dog trainer said pitbull was not leaving. I told him I am leaving instead.

    Asked shift manager for refund. He said he would give me a refund. Then he came back and said he wanted me to go take dog training class with another dog trainer at that store. I called complaint line, they said they would refer call to store manager as if that would resolve anything. What a total nightmare. I will never go to a Petco ever again. Will go to the real pet store, Petsmart, even though it is a further drive.

    I went to Petco to purchase a new guinea pig. My family already owns 2 females. I was approached by a manager about adopting a male they had in the back of the store. He was turned in by his owner because they were moving and couldn't have pets. The male who we named Buddy was the sweetest guinea pig I've ever seen. I adopted him immediately. We noticed he was breathing funny. I took Buddy to the vet and found out he had an upper respiratory infection. We were given antibiotics. Unfortunately, we were too late to save Buddy. He died exactly one week after we got him.

    The manager told me that Buddy had been there for almost 2 weeks before he was adopted. Given the time line... he got sick in that store. So says the vet. I didn't try to return him. He was a part of the family and deserved better than being thrown in a garbage can by a minimum wage Petco employee. These chain stores are mistreating animals and don't care. I will not shop at Petco again. I only posted this as a warning for others. My family is distraught over the loss of our new pet and I don't want that happening to anyone else.

    My husband brought our 4 dogs to get groomed, they refused to groom 2 of them. They were barking and so I was told out of control, I understand that... but they are like a pack of dogs (understandable)! The grooming was 53.00, Dematting 14.00, and flea and tick add on 15.00. Each dog no problem. The little dog will not let us brush her... My husband told me they said my dogs were loaded with fleas and my house was going to be bombed (they were infested) and my house was probably too!! I went to pick up dogs with husband, and the associate said same thing loaded with fleas and I told him I use Frontline and I follow all the directions to a T. He (Domenic) told me Frontline doesn't work. They have been around for so long and haven't changed.

    First of all never had any problem with the product till they said I did. I was so upset so I started to buzz 1 of the dogs. They refused to take with extra caution to look for fleas and guess what? I found 1 on the dog. Now they all sleep together, lay, eat, hang out. So how did 2 dogs get loaded and the other 2 dogs only 1 flea on 1 dog??? So I looked at my receipt and they charged for dematting 3 times?? Now I was pushed over my limit. Called them. All of a sudden it's 7.00 for 15 minutes. We were never told this and I told her (Paige) she was not pleasant on the phone. I asked who was the manager. First she told me (Kate) then she said (Jerry). I spoke to him in between being put on hold numerous times without any satisfaction. I called June 11, 2017 at 10:56 am and this call was for 25 minutes long and being put on hold for more than half that time. Thank You Petco for demeaning me and my house.

    I made an appointment at the Carbondale, IL grooming salon over the phone with Rita. This is the first time I have been back to Petco in about 5 years because the service was so bad then. My mom and I have two miniature poodles and our appointment was for 10:30 am for which I was early for. At about 10:45 the groomer saw me at the back of the store and said, "Oh by the way, I have a video meeting that I have to attend before I can start on your dogs." Why was the appointment made for 10:30 if she knew she had training? Nonetheless, I went ahead and left them there to be groomed.

    I live 20 minutes away so I hung around until I thought they would be done (about 3 hours and there were no other dogs in there at that time). Needless to say, I went to see if they were done at 2:30 pm and she said "not even close". I asked her how much longer it would be and she said another hour and a half and there was still the same dog in there as this morning besides my 2 poodles! Well, here it is 3:30 pm and I'm still waiting! Never again!!! Where is integrity and work ethic? Don't people have any pride in themselves or the work they do anymore?

    I just moved here and wanted to find a good grooming salon near me. I was referred to this PETCO by a friend. When I asked the groomer Rebecca about the signing up process and deals she was on her phone the whole time texting. She told me she was busy and told me to go to another store. I called management and they told me there's nothing they can do about her attitude and that this wasn't the first complaint they have gotten about her. Why is nothing being done?!     Bought several fish and other pets from Petco. I have had several fish die after a few days. Usually I just throw them away. This time decide to take in 1 dead fish (bought 4 gold fish), 1 dead frog (bought 2). Was asked if they were in same tank. Was told goldfish eat the frogs. (Horse crap) I told them, "No, separate tanks." Then she wanted to know if the goldfish were with other goldfish. Told they eat each other. Told her it was in a tank itself. She tried several ways not to give a refund. (I had a receipt) I have seen them get out of refunds before. What the heck, for a six-dollar refund you risk losing a customer. Which you have.

    Let me say that my dogs are my children. I take very good care of them, probably better than some children get. My dogs were licensed but their rabies was going to expire. We have a great Vet, but for timing we thought a quick run to the Vet clinic would be better, due to time. Well... We took them on 5/6/17... never again.

    When the clinic opened we were fourth in line. It was suppose to start at 9:00AM, it did not begin until after 10:00 AM. When it was our turn we were subjected to a hard sales pitch trying to get us to buy anything and everything. When we declined all sales, the sales associate caught an attitude and stated she was educating us on care of our animals. I looked down on the sheet and she had written 111.00 dollars, for all these unnecessary services. I calmly explained the situation, and how we just needed a rabies shot and the representative told us our dog was coughing, so she was most likely sick, and would not get the vaccine. After a few minutes and several comments, she changed the form back to 19.00 for a rabies shot.

    When we saw the Vet she examined our dogs. She announces that our dog has a level 3 heart murmur. Now, my dogs had been seen less than a year ago, at the Vet and he had no murmur. She then says it is a serious condition and she is hoping I am getting him treated by my Vet. When I say I have a great Vet and will follow up, she grew quiet. A few minutes later she tells us our dog could have congestive heart failure, pass out, stop breathing, and several other horrible scenarios. I was horrified and could not believe what she was saying. She gives him the shot, and for two days after, my dog cries all night and day from that shot.

    We had contacted our vet, and made an appointment. I was so upset. When the Vet examined our dog the Vet said our dog occasionally had pleural rubbing, ever so minor, which most small dogs get. Which is very different from what we were told at Petco. Our Vet said there was nothing wrong with the dog, and there was not level 3 heart murmur. Our vet stated our dog was in great health. I am very relieved, but infuriated by the Petco Vet Clinic.

    I take care of my dogs. I felt what they did was cruel, as we were not bullied into buying all sorts of things they already had in place. I felt the high pressure sales tactic did not work, so they were going to upset us. I am a therapist for trade. I am an educated consumer. I can only imagine if I were a young, unsure, pet owner, who believed everything that was told to me by the professionals, how high our bill would have been. What if I had let them treat my dog for a heart murmur he does not have?

    If I were not able to be confident with the care we have provided for our dogs, I might buy everything they tried to force on us. I am pretty disappointed, and can imagine they are getting away with this, with so many. I intend to find out who the Vet at the clinic was, contact the licensing board, and upload all of my documents, from both Vets. If I need a third opinion, I will obtain it, since I am in a position to afford it. To me it is about the scam they are running, and for the people they are getting to fall for their unscrupulous practices. Please question everything they say to you.

    My dog is traumatized from his first grooming at Petco west in Green Bay! Bri is the groomer that did my dog and he has massive razor burns and abrasions on him from his whole entire behind up to his lower belly. He also has 2 burns on his upper belly and cuts on both hawks on his feet. My vet said it is groomer's error and my dog is now on antibiotics, anti-inflammatory and pain meds. Petco offered me to have my dog's next grooming to be free, and that's it, no treats or nothing for my dog's pain and suffering. My dog doesn't even move anymore, he just lays down and I don't know how I will ever get him groomed in the future because he is surely traumatized from this. I will not take Petco's offer on a free grooming. My dog has been groomed many times before by other groomers and we have never had any problems. If you love your fur babies please don't take them to Petco!

    February 25th I bought a guinea pig, after a week she became very sick. I took her to the vet and we gave her all the medicine we could and did everything we could. But she didn't make it. April 6th I went back to buy another one. Once again after 1 week the same problems have occurred. They don't know how to treat their animals correctly. Please do not buy pets from here. I would hate to have somebody else go through the same things I have.

    Today, March 19th 2017, at 2:00pm, I had an appointment at PETCO for my small dogs bath, nails and glands. No haircut, no blow-dries, just the basic. Usually it takes 20 minutes but today they told me it would take 2 hours and 30 minutes because they squeezed me in. Not true. When I called to make an appointment the day before they told me that if I wanted to take my dog in today they will squeeze her in at 4:00 pm otherwise I could go there tomorrow at 2:00 pm. I accepted the appointment for the day after at 2 pm. The manager (who never talked to me before) told me that I was lying and since I was a complainer I had to wait for 3 hours instead of 2:30. We go pick her up the groomer tells us the next time she is matted she will shave her ear and doesn't care what we think we won't have a choice. I asked why they didn't just call me and tell me it was causing her stress to comb out her ears. We would have told them to leave them and we would comb them out ourselves.     I made an appointment for my Papillion on March 10th and asked for a confirmation courtesy call. On the 9th, when I didn't receive the call, I called and the lady (Caroline) stated my appointment wasn't for the 10th, it was for the 11th. So whatever, I'll deal with it. So on the 11th, at 9am I called to verify what I need to bring with me. The lady (Marlene, who evidently is the manager) said I wasn't even on the schedule! So I called back a few minutes later just to make sure, and the girl was apologetic and said she was sorry but this happens all the time! I have the phone records and I saw what time I called to confirm and asked who would've been working at the time of the call. They told me Caroline and she'll be in at noon. So I called Caroline and she said I was on the cancellation list! WHAT??? Why would I be calling to cancel when I'm calling to confirm. They treated me like I was crazy!

    So I asked to speak to the manager and she said the manager was Marlene, who she said "I didn't want to speak too"!!! What the heck are you saying, I asked... Now they are saying I didn't want to talk to her when I called that morning??? Then I tell Caroline that the other girl I spoke to said "this happens all the time" and she said "What? This never happens"... So whatever, I'm going to another groomer. I'm sure it's not important to the groomers that pet owners do have lives and don't appreciate being toyed with when it comes to getting our pets groomed because I sure can go to plenty other places! UNREAL... Never again would I go to this Pet Store. They have completely lost my business with not only dog grooming but pet food and supplies.

    Terrible customer service at Petco in Springfield, IL. Took our bichon to get grooming services; we have used Petco before with no problems. My husband picked him up but went right back in and told them his face was not cut right or at all. I text him a picture and he showed it to them of how we wanted him to look. When they were finished he ended up with a totally uneven cut with almost no hair on his face at all!! He doesn't even look like the same dog!!

    I called to complain that it was not acceptable; the girl said she was not the one that cut him but she understood and asked would I like to speak to the "grooming manager" and I said yes. Spoke with another person that asked if I wanted to bring him back in to even out the cut and I said no because it's already too short. After some time, I finally agreed to let it grow out a little and we'd bring him back in to even it out then. But when I asked to verify I wouldn't be charged for fixing it later, I was told they couldn't authorize that and I'd need to speak with the store manager tomorrow. Really???

    So I called the next day and spoke with the Eric the "store manager". He tells me his staff called him so he is aware of what happened. But then he tells me that he was told I did not want to talk to the grooming manager yesterday and that my husband walked out "satisfied" with the services and that maybe they didn't understand how we wanted him cut! OK... just because he walked out doesn't mean he was satisfied and what more could they have cut off at that point?? And he showed them a picture so how much clearer could it have been? So finally after a lengthy discussion and debate, the "store manager" agrees to let us bring him in free of charge later to even out the cut once it has grown out a little. I hung up but after thinking about this entire situation, I called back and told him I wasn't bringing Pepe back ever!

    I didn't appreciate them lying and saying I said I didn't want to talk to the grooming manager when I did want to AND had a conversation with supposedly the grooming manager and I also didn't appreciate being told my husband was satisfied with the services when he was basically in shock after they "fixed" it. All they kept suggesting was bring him back in and we will even it out!! Never once was I offered a refund, partial refund, free grooming service or anything else. I told him I would not be back.

    I went to FB and Twitter. Petco customer service reached out to me on Twitter and after exchanging direct messages they said they would have someone contact me within 48 hours. That was February 18th. As of the 22nd, still no contact. I call customer service and explain how upset I am about this whole situation that could've been prevented by just a simple agreement to fix the bad haircut on my pet's face in a couple of weeks. But that was obviously asking too much. Later that same day, I received a voicemail from Eric the Springfield Petco store manager saying he was returning my call so I called back. A woman answered and when I said I'm returning a call to Eric she put the phone down and said "it's (my name), have fun hahaha".

    When he picked up I said "have fun? That's real professional." He had nothing to say. I told him I didn't ask for him to call and did not wish to talk to him. He said he had received an email stating he should call me. During the conversation he mentioned offering me free grooming services. I told him he NEVER once offered me free grooming services. He said "yes I did" and I said "no you did not". This was repeated several times and I finally said "you're lying" and he said "no you're lying!" Seriously!

    I hung up and called customer service back and told them what happened. They assured me they did not ask the store manager to call me and had requested a district manager contact me but I needed to give it 48 hours. So now it's the 28th.... 6 days later and still no contact from the district manager. Oh but the Petco twitter team sent me a message that they were updated by their team my issue had been resolved. I messaged back "YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING!"

    Since the grooming, I had to put a sweater on my dog because he was acting neurotic. I finally realized it was because his hair was cut so close to his skin he was uncomfortable. He kept hiding under the bed which he has never done. And he has had a problem with his ears since his grooming. He just had a checkup prior to grooming so if something is wrong, I'll know where it came from. I will never patronize another Petco again.

    I am really disappointed with the grooming dept. in Bradenton Florida. They seem to have issues on keeping employees and every time for the past year I would call and make an appointment and EVERY TIME they call me a few days later and want to change it due to having employees leave. Since when did this become the customer's issue? Where is making it work come into play? I want to thank PETCO for allowing me to use their competition to be able to groom my dog. This also gives me the opportunity to buy items from them vs. Petco. Great job Petco!

    Have been happy until recently every other month my repeat delivery dog food would not show up on time. This month had to make repeat inquiries to a phone center that is obviously not in America. The people tried to placate me and all I want is the service I have already paid for twice yet no delivery attempt or even shipping has happened. Just kept trying to change my mind about it instead of solving the problem.     Family outing to purchase new fish for our 8 year old daughter. She has a 55 gallon tank now. Well she had about 7 fish which included a upside down catfish, Angelfish, etc. Just cute small fish to fill the tank! Well we went to the Petco on 138th Ruffly and Maple here in Omaha Neb. and they of course had no one in that department. So after wandering the store looking for associates I found someone that still had to call the employee for the aquarium department! Earlier we took it upon ourselves to look at fish and decided between a few so if one didn't work out we could get another. Well we choose a blue and orange goldfish, I asked the employee if it would be okay with my other fish in the tank. She stated no problem, the fish we were purchasing was a little lazy and stupid.

    Well just days after placing the fish in my tank my upside down catfish was dead my Angelfish and a few others totaling 5 fish which included the one we bought that day, after calling to complain I received $5.99 the cost of the goldfish that died. My tank had developed several infections! Algae and ammonia level imbalance. A black/green sludge took over the left half of my tank. It was horrible!

    My daughter was crushed. She cried from seeing the fishes dead because after school she always check on her pets birds, and fish! Night screams came to follow and after calling to complain and going back to the store the lead in the aquarium department just openly told me the lady that sold us the fish knew we shouldn't mix that fish but my problem not just laid with the employee but the store itself, they have untreated water in that store. I am still 2 weeks after trying to get my tank back together and save the remaining 3 fish she has! Never going there again and I'm telling everyone I know of my terrible/horrible experience and how no responsibility was taken for clearly the store's fault!     OK salt water enthusiasts, don't buy your fish here! Paid $50.00 for a fish, which was sick by the second day. After reading online, I thought that the problem would clear up in a matter of days. Well it didn't. He got sicker, so I took him back to Petco. Spoke to the gentleman in the aquatic dept., and he said you have to have a receipt, which I went to the car and retrieved, but when I came back in he told me they do not accept returns and have NO warranty on salt water fish, if he was a fresh water fish they would take it back indefinitely!

    I have never dealt with any saltwater fish store that absolutely never give you a refund or a store credit for salt water fish. "There are too many diseases" for them to stand behind their product. So, I was out $50.00 because they sold me a diseased fish! Save yourself the trouble and go to Tidelines in N. Charleston. They have a no questions asked policy, I have received a store credit and refunds on problem fish.They will test your water to be sure, but if it's right, they will do whatever to make you happy! Petco wouldn't even check!

    Dead fish thanks to Petco - My son bought 40 minnows to feed his Oscars (2 small hand size) and when we received them the water was very cold. He has a 2nd tank for them where he acclimated and introduced. Within an hour, about 15 were dead. Three were placed in the tank with the Oscars. Then next day, one was dead and the other had major ick. He had never had ick before. Upon investigation of the minnows, many if not most had ick. Talked to the store manager and were given the $8 refund for the minnows and $8 credit for one dead fish and a major infestation of the tank and nearly a second dead fish.

    At the least, we could have been given the water treatment to correct what had been given to us and a $13 Oscar replacement. Instead, they have a very unhappy customer that will not return. Attached is one of the fish with ick. Would put up my dead Oscar picture, but have exceeded file limit. Very disappointed in Petco. Not only will that be the last $53 spent on water treatment for the tank, no more business for the dog or cats! Very upset and disappointed.     I've had 2 horrible encounters regarding the time it takes to receive my orders. I will never buy anything on the website again. I usually order from Chewy.com and compared to Petco, there is not even close in regards to shipping, receiving and customer service. I've NEVER had a problem with Chewy.com like I have Petco! Petco shipping and delivery is ridiculous! I ordered from them in January and didn't receive my product until 9 days later. I gave them the benefit of doubt because my order was placed and shipped out right before New Year's Eve and New Year's day.

    This month (February) I made the mistake of ordering from them again because, they had a really good sale on their dog food, treats, bones and toys. I should have definitely stuck with Chewy.com. The price you get what you pay for definitely comes to mind regarding shipping and receiving. It's a good thing I'm only still waiting on treats, bones and 1 toy (and it's the wrong one) and not my dogs food because they'd be starving right now! Custom service skills suck. I was pretty much told I had to wait 9 days again. I was pretty much told that by the end of 9th is when I should receive the rest of my order when I ordered it on the 2nd and then even though their site says 2-5 business days.

    I was pretty much told I was SOLD because that's between 2-5 business days because they don't ship anything on Saturday's. Which is absolutely ludicrous because they are open on Saturday, they are more than happy to take your money on Saturday. And, I received part of my shipment on Saturday. Even though everything was shipped on the same day I have to wait until the 9th when I placed my order on the 2nd because their shipping contract with USPS doesn't deliver on Saturday! Completely irritated after arguing for 45 minutes with customer service and a supervisor I'm completely unhappy and frankly a pissed off customer! A multi-million dollar corporation SHOULD be organized and do better in customer service regarding online shopping! I WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK TO CHEWY.COM. Their customer service is amazing and I receive my product in a timely manner!

    I didn't know of the rule of you have to be 18 years or older to buy a live animal. My old local pet store let me buy a beta fish when I was 10 without a parent. I'm now 17 and all I wanted was to buy a $2 beta fish. I can understand that you can't be under 18 to buy a ferret, or a snake, but you can't buy a fish? Really? I walk into the store with a 95 lb healthy blue nose pit bull and I asked if there was a certain age to buy a beta fish. I couldn't. I think that rule is dumb and should change the rule for fish.

    Yesterday, I took my dog “Annie” for her annual vaccinations to be performed by the staff at the Vetcoclinic (hereinafter referred to as “Vetco”) during clinic hours at Petco #2897 located at 7901 Lansdowne Avenue, Upper Darby, PA. The day before, I was in the store and was elated to discover that Vetco would be there the following day since Annie’s vaccinations became due this week and I had not yet made an appointment with our vet. I also appreciated the reduced cost and was told by the Petco staff to arrive before 11:30 a.m.

    Accordingly, on January 29, 2017, I arrived with Annie and my 6-year-old son at approximately 11:25 a.m. Once I located where the clinic was setup - toward the rear of the store and off to the left (which was very difficult to spot amid all the inventory), I asked another customer if she could tell me where the end of the line was. Before this customer could respond, the Vetco employee who was assisting the veterinarian rudely and very loudly announced something to the effect that “No more patients are being seen.”

    Then a male wearing a baseball cap and bearing no i.d. whatsoever told me I would have to leave and go to the next location on Baltimore Pike, where Vetco would be between 2-4 p.m. on the same day. When I told them that it was not yet 11:30 a.m. but only 11:25 a.m., the female assistant replied “I just checked by cell phone and the time reads 11:30 a.m.” Then she asked me whether I had the “paperwork”. Since I had completed Vetco’s Life Style Assessment thirty (30) minutes earlier, I believed she was referring to this document and replied “yes.” When she rudely asked “then where is it?”, I replied that the document was in my purse. This female assistant then said “go ahead” and we found our way to the end of the line.

    After completing a form with the assistance of two nice female Vetco employees, we returned to the line and within minutes we were face-to-face again with the original female assistant. At this time, I told my son to step back some and into the aisle yet still within my vision, so that the Vetco employees could examine Annie. This female employee overstepped her bounds and told my son he could stand by her since “…he should be able to see his dog getting vaccinated.” Did she ever think once, that perhaps I did not want my son to view this procedure since he is only 6 years of age?

    Then while Annie was being vaccinated, this female Vetco assistant says “The reason I was rude to you earlier was because I knew you were lying.” I said “Excuse me.” She then says, “I knew you were lying when you told me you had competed the paperwork.” I replied “I did no such thing” and showed her the 3-page document titled Life Style Assessment I had completed online and printed out earlier that day. She looked at the document, returned it and said “This isn’t the paperwork we need.” I then told her not to accuse me of lying, especially in front of my 6-yr. old, but, rather tell me that I was mistaken. She then says “ok, you did not fill out the proper paperwork”. After some small chit chat concerning my dog’s vaccinations, I paid the fee at the front of the store and we left.

    Words cannot begin to explain how RUDE AND THOUGHTLESS this Vetco employee was. It’s one thing to turn away a customer because they’ve arrived too late without having to feign the truth about the time, since all cell phones pretty much operate using the same clock. There is also another way to inform a customer that he or she is mistaken about something without calling them “A LIAR.”

    The treatment we received yesterday was appalling and has led me to reconsider ever using this company for my pet needs ever again. It is abundantly clear that they do not seriously regard their statement concerning customer treatment which appears in their website as follows: “…commitment to treating each other, the pets we serve and their loving owners equally - with integrity, dignity and respect…”

    I have been bringing my dogs to this PETCO groomer for several years. Joann is the groomer I strictly schedule with. She is so caring, kind and thorough, and goes out of her way to make the overall experience as calming for my dogs as she can. Her work is beyond reproach, and I am sure that this is due to her skills, but also to her LOVE of her clients [four legged and two-legged!]. She is an excellent representative for PETCO.

    I went to Petco today to buy my new fish a plant for their tank and as I looked around the store, I found a guppy I wanted to add to my tank. I walked over to one of the workers and politely asked if she could help me get the guppy. After looking at me as if I had kicked a puppy, she asked my age (17) and told me that I couldn't buy a guppy without a parent present. I work on a farm caring for 14 horses, with a puppy and cat of my own at home to care for, but apparently I can't buy a guppy at Petco. There goes my plans of starting an underground trade of guppies...

    When shopping at the Petco in Mount Vernon NY there is never a large bag to put purchases only small items bags. That is crazy. I asked the cashier why. She said that Petco expected most if not all of their customers to own cars meaning that they can put large purchases example dog bed, pet carrier and such items in the car directly without a shopping bag. I thought that was so stupid. I don't own a car and do not expect to walk out of a store with the item in my hand to go wherever I am going. Petco should be able to accommodate all size items when packing them for purchase. This needs to change.

Their customer service is great and they also take very good care of the animals and fish that they are finding good homes for. Every time I go in to buy monthly needs for my cat I am also able to enjoy visiting with the birds, little furry animals, and the cats that are waiting for their forever homes.     The closest store has a horrible manager, a couple of employees with good knowledge but the manager seems to hire high school kids that either don't know or care about the animals they sell. Lousy employees and a bad manager, I am sure there are adults who could do a much better job. I've found dead fish in the tanks, how can you not take care of that?

    For the most part I am always happy with my visit. The prices are a little on the high side, but the customer service I have received almost makes it worth the extra costs. Friendly service, knowledgeable associates, let your animals in so they can try out clothes or toys. Prices a little more than you could get it elsewhere but you not only see it, you can touch it, feel it, and your pet can try it. Also, my cat kept getting sick on food we were trying and the associate noticed that I was coming in and spending a lot of time reading bags and buying couple different kinds of food and when I told them how he had an stomach problem and they told me to bring back all the bags I opened that he could not eat and they exchanged then. They really have your pet and pockets in mind.

    Every time I've been in the store, I am treated with respect as soon as I walk in. The staff is really nice. They know about the products. The woman who runs the Grooming Department is very sweet. They all love my Bulldog and treat her really good. When I go in to either buy a product or take my Bulldog in to have her nails grind, I am always treated with respect. They are just as sweet as can be. I went in there about a flea problem we were having and the lady that approached us was very nice. She knew about the different products and explain them all to me. Very friendly staff. And Stacey ** in the Grooming Dept. is very sweet and very good with my Bulldog.

    Associates are well-informed, helpful and courteous. I am very happy with the service. Very informative. I called. My cat was having a very bad flea infestation. I tried Hartz and the fleas got worst. I called. Talked to one of the associates. He was so patient being that I was very upset, he suggested I use Advantage II. Awesome results. Also suggested ** which works killing fleas from the inside out. Dead fleas all over the house. AWESOME!!! Very pleased with the service. Petco is the only pet/people-friendly store I use.

    I purchased a hamster for my granddaughter on Christmas Eve at the Norfolk, VA store on Virginia Beach Blvd. I explained that she lived in Northern VA and that we would be traveling for several hrs. The store associate was very helpful and very diligent about ensuring that the hamster would not be stressed during the trip. She helped me assemble the Kaytee starter kit, put in the hamster along with food, chew toy, and water bottle. The hamster immediately buried himself under the bedding. We tested and discovered that the water bottle would leak an ungodly amount during the trip.

    So after assisting other customers, she took the hamster to the back of the store. When she returned, she had replaced the water bottle with a different one. A very nice gesture. When she returned with the cage no one thought to verify that the hamster was still in it. Until she returned with the cage and new water bottle, I really had no idea what she was even doing. Since hamsters are nocturnal, I wasn't surprised that there was no movement in the cage after leaving the store.

    When I arrived at my destination in Woodbridge, VA around 6 pm, you can imagine our disbelief and my granddaughter's disappointment when she discovered that there no hamster was in the cage!! OMG. We were all stressed for the rest of the day. Running back and forth to check the car - over and over again. No hampster. The store is closed. It's now Christmas Day. So I call the store manager as soon as the store opened on Monday. Mr. ** was not very customer service oriented, and was more than willing to have us wait several more days to get the hamster if the local store in Woodbridge didn't have the same kind that we originally purchased.

    He did call the local store after I pressed him about some sort of restitution. He stated that he also contacted the district manager who was only willing to have us select any new hampster. I realize this was an emotional issue for our family, but I strongly think that due to the holiday mishap, he should have gone further. There was never an apology for the incident and he appeared quite indifferent to the matter - just another day at the office for him.

    The staff are courteous and professional. They bend over backwards to assist me in every aspect. They have the knowledge of all the products, when I ask questions. There is nothing about my Petco that I am disappointed with. However I would suggest lowering prices on some of the high-grade dog foods. Not everybody is able to afford it and their animals deserve it. If Petco realized that they would understand. That is from my standpoint.     I visited the Petco in Waikele on Dec. 3 during the time of a dog training class. What I saw from one pet owner who was in the class disgusted me. She was hitting her dog to get him to pay attention and listen to her. If I were the trainer or manager of the store I would be highly ashamed and would not allow such actions to take place without some form of discipline. She hit her dog openly and in front of children and other customers; that surely isn't something you would want to see anywhere, let alone a pet store. I came to buy supplies, but after witnessing such cruelty I left without buying anything.

    I am pissed! During Black Friday, I enrolled my puppy Sadie for basic obedience training in Petco at a discounted price. Her classes started today but when we showed up 30 mins early, her trainer gave us an attitude and said "Oh, you're supposed to let me know you're coming." We replied "you should have known for you said we could pick Thursday or Saturday whatever day works us." She said "you got 30 mins" so we just walked around the store looking for treats. She showed up to the training 2 mins late but she never apologized.

    She never did the training; I was doing the training myself. She told us to keep the dog walking and have her sit when my dog didn't know how to walk on a leash yet so we were dragging her on the floor. We have to do it 6x and I got dizzy and frustrated. The training lasted only for 15 mins for she cancelled it. She said she would just pass on the training to somebody else since I don't want my dog trained with a German shepherd in her group class next week. I told her I am not letting my dog near that dog because she will be doing her quarantine. I complained to the manager who said I need to train the dog too. I said "hey, I can't do that after next week because I have to go back to work." They 're supposed to teach my dog and not me because I am paying them. Petco, you need to stop offering dog trainings. Your trainers are evidently lazy and not qualified. I am going back tomorrow to get my refund, and google and train Sadie myself!

    I took my dog to have her nails cut just before her puppy class. Not long after the session begins, I noticed a lot of blood on the floor. I brought it to the attention of the trainer. Then noticed that both my puppy's paws were covered in blood. I took her to the manager and showed her her paws and told her I just had her nails clipped. Both of us went into the groomer who trimmed her nails. She told us she cut her nails too short. She put something on them to stop the bleeding. I was very upset that I wasn't told this after she did it. I got a full refund. Before the next puppy class started, I tried to get my dog into the area of the groomer. She wouldn't go near it. She has no problem going to PetSmart groomer.

    I brought my toy poodle for grooming, usually go to private groomer who I had difficulty to get a Saturday visit, being PETCO is also a pet store I felt many people around so chance of abusing my dog would be less. I showed the groomer a picture on my cell of the last cut so what type cut I expected was clear and I clearly said I did not want a short cut. When she brought my dog out I nearly died, she completely shaved my dog down, said he was matted, asked me if he was ever professionally cared for. I told her about every 8 weeks. She also said he is too thin, though the vet just 2 weeks ago said weight is fine. My dog looks awful. The shave job is not even smooth. This is MY dog and Debbie has no right to do this and if she felt dog was too matted for her groom she should have told me.

    I'm an owner of 3 Yorkshire terrier, better known as finicky eaters. My dogs got well adjusted to eating "Hill's: Ideal Balance" which is now being discontinued, so I've been on the hunt for dog food for my THREE DOGS. I was told by a Petco employee from several locations that if my dogs did not like the food, I wouldn't need to go back and forth to Petco, that I could just throw the food out and hold on to the cans and the receipt. I went to this store and I explained to the cashier the whole scenario and the cashier completely embarrassed me and denied my return, said that I need to keep 50% of the food in the containers even if it's spoiled. Which I could have done but since I was informed from several employees from several locations that I can just bring in the empty cans and the original receipt that's why my containers were empty. I'm a very upset consumer (Petco 1 US-46, Totowa, NJ 07512).

    I have read 100's of reviews on Petco and after doing so, I really on have one comment which is: "You get what you pay for." Petco, and for that matter, Petsmart, do not have a training program that will actually benefit the customer or the dog. Sure, it's fun taking your dog to socialize with other dogs but, that's not training. You got to think about what you are getting for your money. If you and your dog attend a 60-minute class and there are 6 people/dogs in the class, you will never get more than 10 minutes of individual attention from the trainer. If you do, that would mean that someone else attending did not even get 10 minutes for the trainer.

    Usually the trainer to give individual attention after 5 minutes of just yapping with everyone which means you are not going to even get 10 minutes of the trainer's time. Don't waste your money on these hourly socialization classes. If you do, you will likely be very unhappy with the results. Hire a trainer that will train your dog and only your dog. Group classes do not address more serious behavior issues and are pretty much worthless.

    I dropped off my dog at 10:00 am for full service grooming. After 2 and 1/2 to 3 hours they called me and told me that they had to take him to the Emergency Room. They had cut his nail too short and they weren't able to stop the bleeding. I will not be going back to them any more.     Georgia **, a "groomer" at Petco on Tamiami Trail in Fort Myers Fl, has been ripping off customers blind!! Although she's been written up in the past for all the overcharging and falsified rabies information, by the way puts your pets in danger! Georgia been stealing from the store as well. Now as of 09/03/2016 we can add assault to the list, she literally shoved another groomer out of her way. 13 of her co-worker's have quit or have been fired themselves for turning her into the corporate headquarters. Their attempts failed because the management team prior to July 2016 failed to do their job.

    She's been transferred from the forum Petco because the groomers couldn't stand by and watch her ripping off hard working people, seniors and young couples, it's all of no consequence to Georgia. Georgia has received not 1 but 3 finals and if you get one you're supposed to be shown the door. This was the fault again of the previous management team before July 2016.

    She has over charged people for more than 3 years. Examples: teeth brushing, shed less treatments, nail filing certain shampoos and treatments, nail clippings and even baths. Many of these add-ons were not done on your pets. If you called for a bath you're going to be charged for a full service groom every time, that's 30$ extra and over 3 years that extra 30-50 dollars goes in her pocket along with your tips.

    Georgia had many unsuspecting customers that she's been stealing from but because she's very very good at pretending she's interested them, little do they know what she says about them when they walk out the door, it's despicable. I would also like to add due to the perseverance of some people, Georgia has now been fired from Petco as well as the one that exposed her for what she truly is. Now I can say with great comfort, justice has been done by the new and great management team at Petco. I would encourage you to continue shopping there and also getting your pets groomed in the salon. The new management team in place is the best.

    I went to the patchogue ny Petco today, with two bags of dog food and a bag of can food that I had purchased there. I have never had a problem with exchanges before so I thought it would be ok. But it was raining so bad today, that I went in first picked up some stuff that I could exchange it for, and ask the cashier to watch the stuff while I run out to my car in the pouring rain to get my returns, she said sure no problem. So I run out in the horrible rain and get soaked to the bone, ran back in with the stuff. When it was my turn on a line a different cashier called me over. I told her I was exchanging this food for this stuff, everything was unopened and brand new. She asked if I had a receipt, I said no, but that was never a problem before.

    She ran to the back, and came back and said they could not do it without a receipt. I was like why you always do it in the past. You make me get totally soaking wet for nothing. She said the mgr on duty, they said her name was Dorothy, said no. But she never came up to tell me herself. So I said ok just do a little now, and I'll come back with the rest another time. She said no not without a receipt. I said I thought you said you couldn't do this much without a receipt. Just do a little bit then, I'll do the rest another time. She just shook her head kind of snobbish, she could see every part of me was soaking wet. But just didn't care. I never shop in a place that does not take back returns. Good bye Petco. Hello Chewy.

    I ordered my dogs flea medicine online from PetCo. When I finally received my order it contained puppy breathing rings not flea medication. Called their customer service and was told they could ship the flea medication again (which would take another week or so to get) or they could refund my money (which would only take a week to ten days - funny thing with that was it didn't take that long for them to take it out of my account). I told them I was not happy with either option and I wanted to speak to a supervisor.

    The supervisor said he could have the correct product to me by Tuesday. The order did arrive on Tuesday but I had ordered and paid for a six dose pack and what was in the box was a four dose pack. Made another call and spoke to another supervisor and was told she would overnight the correct order and have it to me by Thursday. It is now 5:30 on Thursday and I have yet to see the six dose pack of flea medicine I ordered and paid for. I had set this up as a once a month recurring order since I have six dogs by. Wonder if I will get the same lousy service every month.

    I went last night to purchase a small dog bed. At first I thought someone had put a used bed that was returned back on the shelf as it was stained. When I moved the first one to see the one behind it I noticed it was full of mouse droppings. I then looked closer at all the beds and they either had urine stains or were full of mouse droppings. Disgusting and a health hazard. I called their 800 number and was answered by someone in India who barely spoke English so I'm sure nothing will come of that. It was the Hackensack NJ store and I will be contacting the Board of Health. Do not shop there. I purchased the small bag of food. I needed to have a receipt.

    I try to give the benefit of the doubt in most cases but yesterday's experience with the grooming salon pushed me over the edge. It is the fourth issue and the worst I have had in 9 months! Took my Schnauzer to be groomed... was running late because of a slow train. Called them, told them I was on my way (15 minutes late.) Got to Petco about 25 minutes late. First they displayed their disgust I was late. Groomer checked my dog for mats and told me she wasn't too bad. Got a call about three hours into her appointment that her legs were severely matted so I told them to go ahead and shave them down (her legs grow out quickly.) THREE more hours later they tell me she is ready to pick up. When my husband and I go inside they bring her out... we were SHOCKED to see that they had COMPLETELY SHAVED our schnauzer including her face... eyebrows... beard and belly!!!

    In seeing our shock the groomer told me she was matted all over and she HAD to shave her!! This was absolutely NOT true... and I did NOT give them permission to shave anything but her legs!!! Her statement was "well... I can't put it back on"... HOW IGNORANT IS THAT? Then to top off the whole situation... she hands me a bill for $63.00!!! I told her that was ridiculous... that I could have SHAVED my own dog and it would not have cost me anything! The grooming manager was just sitting there during my conversation with the groomer and said absolutely nothing during our exchange of words... so I paid the bill and told them to take both my dogs off of their records there... that we would never ever bring them back. (They had groomed my shih tzu three weeks prior and HE came home with a cocker spaniel haircut!!!) My poor dog looks absolutely pitiful... not to mention she is a senior dog and now just stands there shaking all of the time!

    I am SO angry and I will never ever recommend these grooming salons to any of my dog families. I am also spreading the word on my Facebook page WITH her picture... my friends are also in shock! Petco needs to have better training for their groomers... AND they need to teach them some customer service skills. I am sorry to say that I was so shocked when I picked her up that I was almost rendered SPEECHLESS... because driving home I thought of a whole lot more that I should have said to that girl!

    We took our two schnauzers to Petco in Longview TX to get them groomed. They had them for 5 hours. When we went back to pick them up. They were just putting our white one on the grooming table. We left again and five minutes later they call and say they're ready. We go to pick them up again. By this time we were ready to go. They gave us the bill of $95.00 for their so called grooming job. That was the worst place I've ever taken my dogs. I will never take them back there again. Sad place for claiming to love dogs. Hire real groomers not a bunch of teenagers.

    My experience has nothing to do with any of my purchases. My purchases are just fine. I'm submitting this review because I've been going to the store in Austin for some time now but I've notice an drastic change to the environment. The animals aren't in the best of care like they once were. I asked a few employees but no one seemed to care, and I even pointed out the reptiles weren't looking so well. They pretty much brushed me off, and didn't care what I had to say. Upon reading other reviews, and seeing images, it would appear this isn't anything new.     My sister, my son and my Shih Tzu all went into the Petco in Avondale, AZ. The cashier, who has been rude to us before, was being very nice and complimenting my dog when we first walked into the store. When it was time to pay he was Mr. Judgy and all-knowing wise man, telling me the reason why my dog is fat is because he's old and needs to be fed Senior dog food. First off, my dog is not overweight and is on a strict diet due to his food allergies. Yes, he is 9 years old but still acts like a puppy; he's very energetic. I didn't ask the cashier for his opinion on what to feed my pet, all I wanted to do was pay and get the hell out of there. He was talking really loud too, so the other people in the store overheard what he was saying to me. I was really embarrassed and upset.

    I shouldn't have made my purchase. They didn't deserve my hard-earned money. When I got home, I decided to reach out to them via Twitter, and their response was "We are sorry to hear about your experience". Seriously?? That's it. Your employee just basically fat-shamed my fur baby and embarrassed me in front of other customers. My family and I decided that we will no longer give Petco our business and won't ever recommend it anyone else. And anytime that I can I will tell people our experience at this store and discourage them from going there.

    When I called and made my appointment I let them know in advance my dog's legs were severely matted. I take responsibility for allowing my dog to get that bad. However I was honest with the lady over the phone and she still quoted me $42. When I arrived I told them my dog is really bad as you can see. Still no verbal response letting me know it will cost an additional $14. If I would have been told then I could have decided what to do at that point. I could have chosen to go somewhere else. I didn't find out until I went to pay. The manager was very nice and credited me what she was able to do. A couple hours before she was done, they told me they could not do it and that needed to take her to a vet. I think I bruised the lady's ego and said that I will do it myself as I have cut her hair in the past. She told me I needed to take her to the vet to get it done and I told her my vet recommended I take her to the groomer.

    My vet office is Pope Animal Hospital and they are very highly respected in the community. I think they would have told me a groomer would not be able to handle the task. She went ahead without me knowing that is what she was doing, went ahead and did the job. Ok fine. She should have told at any point it would cost me more. No word! If it was written on a piece of paper somewhere, who really takes the time to read it when others are behind you standing in line? Of course it gets worse. I told them at the beginning I wanted her tail salvaged. They cut it all off.

    The groomer also overheard me complaining to a Petco employee. She immediately took offense and has a major attitude with me. I told her I should have taken my dog to a professional dog groomer. I will never come back to Petco again! She publicly humiliated me in front of the entire store. She even brought out my dog's hair to show everyone. I had no problem paying more but they needed to communicate about the price not just stick them at the very end. I went to them for help because it got too bad for me to do on my own. I told them this upfront. Why couldn't she give me the same courtesy. I was so mad I even had them refund my purchases of doggy treats and toys that I had bought while waiting as I do not want them to make a single dime on me. I will never go back there ever again. If you have a dog, go to a professional groomer and do your homework.

    Here is what I went through. I saw the promotions that buy $100 worth stuff and get $30 discount. So I purchased but never got $30 discount. Later I found out its not on cat or dog food! So I call them and they gave me $30 credit anyways. When I purchased food for my cat second time, $30 credit did not show and it was charging my credit card! So I call customer service and she said that she had ordered for me and it is not charged to the credit card. But then I found out it was charged! So next call they explained that my husband had used that credit in store. And my husband said that he was told by the store that it was sale and not a credit!!

    They had promotions that if we go for repeat delivery we would get $30 credit. I scheduled two of them and there was no credit.     We went on vacation for 15 days and left Simba in boarding. He got some mat over there. We went for haircut at PETCO Bridgewater, NJ. When I went to pick up Simba, one of the employee started yelling at me in front of other customer that "you guy's have not taken care of Simba's hair." I explained her that, Simba got mat in the boarding and it was not that much of the mat. But she accused me of lying and continued that it can't happen in boarding, it is your fault that you didn't took care of Simba. I felt so embarrassed in front of all that I decided not to go to PETCO again. Also, they have completely shaved my goldendoodle. He doesn't have a single hair on the body. While shaving they have burned Simba at several places. From that day Simba looks very depressed and not so active. I do not recommend PETCO for Goldendoodle Grooming.

    Petco is in the middle of a big mess right now because they issued a coupon code with an error and then cancelled all the orders where customers used it. Once contacted, they pretended they were unaware of the issue and then contacted us back to say they would not honor the coupon.     We visited PETCO (Peachtree City, GA) for treatment of my dog at July 9 and we paid it with cash. Next day we was there again to just ask that if we pay it with gift card again and refund cash. And Manager confirmed it for that and Cashier also was acknowledged payment exchange. So we bought GC and visited again at Tuesday. But another manager rejected it and told us she will leave the message to manager who worked that time. But nobody contacted us. We was there again at Saturday. Same cashier was working but Manager was different. Cashier explained to other manager. But she rejected it and ask us to visit Tuesday (July 19) to meet senior manager. We visited today again.     Today I brought my Siberian Husky mix to Petco in Rutland, VT for his first grooming experience. The summer heat has his undercoat coming out in tufts, so I finally broke down and brought him to a "professional" groomer, as the brushings that I give him at home didn't seem to be cutting it. He was very calm when we first got there, even laying on the floor and exhibiting no signs of anxiety whatsoever. The groomer came out when she finished with the dog she was working on and asked me a few questions.

    The first warning sign was when she asked if I would like my dog shaved. Anyone with any knowledge of huskies should know that you never shave them, as this does nothing to actually cool them and can completely ruin the way their coat grows and can disrupt the natural shedding process. It seemed to me that a "professional" groomer should know this, as I would assume she deals with huskies fairly regularly as they are a breed that needs frequent grooming. However I assumed it was simply a lack of knowledge about the breed and told her that I definitely did not want him shaved or even trimmed, that he just needed a bath and a good brushing and a blow out of his undercoat.

    She seemed skeptical but said okay, took some information, then came around to meet him. She came right up rather quickly which I could see made him a little nervous, but not to the point where I felt he would be aggressive, as I have never had him react aggressively towards a person, stranger or not, as I have always told strangers to give him an appropriate amount of time to let him warm up, and I have always told people to allow him to come to them, as it should be for a proper introduction.

    I did not reiterate this with her, again because I made an obviously incorrect assumption, thinking that she would know the proper way to introduce herself to a dog as she is a groomer that works with dogs regularly. She then proceeded to put her hands right in his face without much introduction at all and my dog growled at her, obviously startled and feeling anxious by the sudden intrusion into his personal space. She immediately backed off and he made no aggressive moves towards her whatsoever, remaining sitting right at my side. She ran around the counter like he was trying to attack her and told me that there was no way she was taking an aggressive dog like that, and that I could leave now, which I did.

    Although I am disappointed that my dog reacted poorly towards her, as I have always been very happy with how good he is with meeting new people, I have a very hard time allowing him to take much of the blame for the poor outcome. It seemed to me that she was not only inexperienced as a groomer, but seemed to have no idea on how to properly approach and handle a dog in general, which seems foolish to me, as she is putting herself and the dogs that she works with in danger by not being educated. All in all, I am glad that I didn't end up getting service there, and I would never consider returning.

    Recently I was inquiring about the flea treatment Seresto on PETCO website. The price online was $40.48. I called the PETCO which is located in Bloomsburg, PA to see if they had a supply of the product. I spoke to a sales associate and explain that I was thinking of purchasing the product at the store. She placed me on hold and returned to say that they did have the product. I mentioned that online it was $40.48. She informed me that the store in Bloomsburg did price matching with the online price.

    I visited the store in hopes of purchasing the product. The associate that I spoke to informed me that they do not do price matching. I explain that I had spoke to someone and she said they do price matching. He then referred me to the store manager. My complaint is in reference to the store manager. He approached me in an aggressive manner, was rude and unapproachable. Unfortunately, you have lost a valued customer. The manager of the store should not be in a position of management.

    I am sad to say I am extremely upset with the grooming my goldendoodle received. Both of my dogs have only gone to Petco for grooming and as of today that has ended. My dog was groomed exactly 6 weeks prior to this appointment so he by no means is neglected in the hygiene department. He is part poodle so his hair is curly and we all know that tends to mat.

    What this women did to my dog could be described no other way than him being the recipient of a temper tantrum! She was nasty when Max was picked up, saying we need to take better care of our dog because this is what she had to do to him. She shaved him down to skin. Honestly there is not a place on his body that I could grab his fur, it is that short. That is including his face and tail! He has two burn marks on his body and has been angry since being picked up. He is biting and growling at the other dog in our home. There is NO WAY his fur got so bad in 6 weeks that she needed to do that to him. Even if he was not brushed in between appointments it could not have been bad enough to deserve what he went through.

    Max was dropped off at 1:30, at 4:30 my husband went to get him and was told he wasn't even started. I'm assuming that meant he was washed but the haircut had not yet began. I got a call 40 minutes later that he was done. She spent maximum a whole 40 minutes attempting to brush him, decide she couldn't and shave him down so bad he was burned more than once. When I called to ask what happened, the management told me "Unfortunately you got my rookie. Next time you should ask for ** or **." I am deeply sad Max had to suffer.

    I cancelled my appointment because of the terrible environment that I saw when dropping my dog off. I was not going to put my dog through the torment and malpractice that I saw. When I first went into the place, there was a multitude of open scissors and electric shavers left on the edge of grooming tables. The cords were also left on the ground which could have easily tripped anyone or a dog. The environment was disastrous with fur left behind and random crap on the grooming tables and floors.

    There was only one attendant who was handling another dog. She told me that my groomer went on lunch break. My groomer was not prompt for my appointment so I couldn't even speak to her about how I wanted my dog groomed. I waited for her for a few minutes, but after seeing the actions of how the attendant was "taking care" of the dogs it was not worth any more of my time. The way she handle dogs was extremely concerning. She left a dog unattended who apparently had issues to help a walk in and never checked back with the unattended dog. The walk in left his dog in her care, asking for a nail trimming. She brought the dog back in and started to check me in.

    As she was checking me in, she went to go clip the dogs nails, but the way she was handling the dog made the dog scream and yelp in pain. She stated that most dogs do not like their nails clipped, but what I saw was improper use of handling the dog's leg. She wasn't leveled with the dog's feet and started clipping the nails in a crouching position, bending and pulling the leg out of its shoulder socket.

    I understand most dogs do not like their nails clipped; however, that position looked extremely painful and I am certain that most dogs do not scream in agonizing pain when getting their nails clipped. She stated she was handling the dog's leg correctly, but she WAS NOT. I have experience due to my dog having 8 years of hip dyspepsia and now has shoulder arthritis. She didn't even know how to properly hold a small dog with hip dyspepsia. I asked if she had any training or if I could speak to a manager, but apparently she was the manager and she stated she did have training. This is even more concerning because now I am curious what kind of training this person even had and why a manager sent her assistant off to lunch knowing that she had booked me and another person at the same time, had a walk in, plus the other dog was still left unattended.

    No wonder why Petco has you sign that they are not responsible for any injuries. She could of caused serious injuries to my dog and put her through the same pain. I will be filing a complaint for this grooming malpractice. They even called me later to come back and book another appointment on a different day where it was less hectic. They were not apologetic about the environment, the treatment of the other animals, or even my situation. This is what could happen to your dog if you drop them off at PETCO.

    I live in Hawaii, and there is one store on the island. I went into the store and bought two items, then checked the cost of the items online and their prices were inflated nearly and over 100%. One item cost me $49.99 and is online for $27.99; the other one was sold for $26.49 in the store and was $16.99 online. They wouldn't honor any online discounts, price matching, etc in store.

    I called the customer service line and was given the promise that a supervisor would call back after the rep told me there was nothing they would do to honor my request for a price adjustment. Several days later a call did come in, and I called the number on the message but did not get an answer or response back. I emailed the company as well and was told they would send a $10 coupon. I said this was not sufficient enough to address my concern of gouging in Hawaii. There is no way shipping costs can warrant these huge differences in price. At the very least, offer some incentive to keep my business above a $10 coupon. I am still waiting on a response from the company but it has been five days and I've heard nothing.

    I dropped off my dog for a summer trim at the Petco grooming. I left instructions with what I wanted. The girl Alexandra was not friendly or very enthusiastic about her job. I had a bad feeling as it was not the normal worker that does my dog. When my sister picked up the dog she was shaven to the bone and ears and tail cut. After I specifically said not to cut her short. The groomer even showed me the chart. I picked the size with hair. What we got back was a shaved puppy. No effort was put into that at all. My dog was not matted. There was no need for her to do that. This anger will not go away until my little baby starts to grow her hair back. Do not trust them to cut your pets. She was horrible. And their prices are way too high for such minimal work. Plus her legs had been shaved to the skin???

    Went to look for a basic harness/leash. Ended pay $76 for leash, one chewy and 2 boxes of milk bones. Help was all of 3 - 21 year old kids working the Sherman Oaks store. At any rate my point is corporate greed marking up items coming from Mexico & China 500%. Example a large raw hide chewy $22... Pretty sure Petco pays $4-5 tops ridiculous. Going from now on to Dollar store or Costco. Won't be surprised if goes out of business pretty soon. Also to the owners of this Consumer Affairs.     A set of portable pet steps was on sale for $41.66 online. I called the store to see if they had this item in stock, which they did. When I asked the price, I was told $169!!... and they do not honor online prices. So, of course, I ordered online. According to online return policy, I will be able to do a return at a local store, if steps need to be returned. Hopefully they will honor this! Unhappy about the policy to not honor online prices...

    Nearly a year ago I received an email offer from PETCO to receive a $30 eGift card for signing up for repeat delivery. I signed up for repeat delivery for Scoop Free litter trays. I did not receive the $30 eGift card. I called PETCO and was told I would receive the eGift card by a certain date. That date came and went and no eGift card. I called PETCO. I was assured I would receive an eGift card. I didn't. I called PETCO. The customer service representative agreed that I was entitled to a $30 eGift card but continued questioning me with senseless questions. At this point I had received and paid for Scoop Free litter trays. I had fulfilled my contractual obligations. PETCO had not fulfilled their contractual obligation to send me a $30 eGift card.

    After several minutes of questioning and frustration that although PETCO agreed they owed me a $30 eGift card they would not simply give me the card. I told the customer service representative to cancel my repeat delivery. He told me he would do that but that he would also send me a $30 eGift card. He did not cancel my repeat delivery nor did he send me the $30 eGift card. I later canceled the repeat delivery.

    Recently I received another offer of a $30 eGift card for signing up for repeat delivery. I decided to give PETCO another chance. I again decided to sign up for Scoop Free litter trays and had them in my "cart"on the computer but decided to ask via chat with a customer service representative when I would receive my $30 eGift card. I explained the prior experience with PETCO's failure to fulfill their obligation to the customer service representative and ask when would I received a $30 eGift card if I signed up for repeat delivery. The customer service representative told me that the $30 eGift card was only for new repeat delivery customers and because I had been a repeat delivery customer I was not eligible for the offer. In other words because PETCO had failed to to perform their contractual obligations with me in the past and screwed me out of the $30 eGift card when I signed up for repeat delivery, that screwing carried over to any future contracts.

    I will not buy fish from Petco ever again. I was told I could put a bristlenose pleco in with my betta. The one Petco sent home with my husband was so small it was destroyed within two days. I then had them order me 8 harlequin rasboras. They called the fish were in so I went to pick them up the next day. There was already one almost dead at the top of the tank and the surviving ones were so damn small that I put them in a breeding net for a day to try to ease their stress. The next morning I went to let them out of captivity and one was bottoms-up. Dead. Petco needs to find another supplier that doesn't send infants and the staff needs to stop feeding me a line of B.S. when I ask them about things.

    Great trainer! I have been taking my Goldendoodle to the Watauga, Texas store for the last 6 weeks. I cannot express how wonderful Brittney is! I walked in PETCO, after going to PS, and having a very unsatisfied visit, just trying to find a product in their store. I was so angry, I didn't even ask about training... their loss. I walked into PETCO and was directed to Brittney... She also didn't have what I was looking for but told me where I could get it since Petco had stopped carrying it. I then talked to her about training, she impressed me so much, I went the next day and signed up my furbaby for HER training classes. She is definitely a people person and wonderful with the dogs!! I couldn't ask for better!

    I went into PETCO Camarillo on 4-8-16. I wrote a check for my purchase. The check proceeded to get stuck in their machine. I waited for 20 minutes while their IT guy attempted to retrieve the check. He said he could not and I needed an alternate form of payment. I paid with my VISA card at that point. I was assured several times that they would destroy my check as soon as they could get it out. I went home that evening and told my husband who decided to put a stop payment on the check, which he did the next day. A week or so later we received notification from our bank that they tried to cash the check.

    So, when you balance out your drawer at the end of the day and you find that you are roughly 100.00 over there was only (one sale put through) and you have a Visa payment and a check payment for the same amount as the overage the only thing I can think of is an employee pocketed the overage. How else do you balance out your cash drawer? AND yesterday I get a collection notice in the mail from PETCO for my stop payment! They received a VISA charge and they tried to cash a check that they said they would destroy. Now I can't seem to get a hold of the manager--convenient! I will never ever go into that store again once this is resolved! Beware!

    I made an appointment with Michelle, a pet stylist at Petco to groom my 5-month-old teddy bear puppy. I expressed how I wanted him cut and the type of shampoo he needed. She stayed it would take 3 hours, I dropped him off at 515 pm. They called me back at 700 pm. When I went to pick up my baby, he was hacked! He was gouged all through his puppy coat. It was uneven and choppy. I called back after I got home and examined him more thoroughly. He was lethargic, his hair was burned from the drying.

    I took him back the next day to see if they could fix their mess up. Ashley, the manager, who was supposed to be a specialist for this breed of dog stayed she would try and fix it with blending shears. I explicitly told her not to cut all his hair off and that's exactly what she did. She cut all his puppy coat off because she was unable to fix what her "pet stylist" Michelle had done. She stated she does better with short haired dogs and was not very good with long haired ones, which she should have stated when we dropped him off. They didn't wash him very well because he still had sticky hair near his eyes. This was the worst experience of me and my puppy's life. It's going to take months before his coat will grow back to an acceptable length and appearance. They are truly the worse! They need to spend time learning each breed and their recommended AKC cuts.

    Seven years ago, I purchased my cat Molly from Petco. This purchase was for my aunt who had recently lost her cat at the time. The cat's paperwork said that she was 10 months old. Shots and all were given. My aunt didn't want Molly and so I kept her. She was a wonderful cat up until a month ago when I had to pay out of my pocket $1300.00 in vet bills to find out why Molly's ability to walk on her four legs were failing.     First of all I am a Foster Parent. Our 12 yr old purchased 2 hamsters. Within a month the first one died and now the second one has an abscess on it. When we took it back to Petco they wanted us to pay them $30.00 to take it back which the hamster only cost 17.00. When I explained that our son was a foster and had been thru a lot of tragedy already this manager just didn't care. I wouldn't take any animal there or buy anything from them. They also hurt animals there. My mother took her basset hound there to get his nails clipped. When we got him home he was limping. The vet said that it had been twisted which they denied. These places - PETCO need to be shut down.

    We will never purchase anything from this store again. We purchased two sweet Guinea pigs. Within a week one became sick. They tell you to bring it in for treatment and they will pay but then they make you return your new furry family member and keep them until better. Not to mention they will not let you see them daily. They have a lack of knowledge about the feeding of these pets and they would not let me see where they have my pig. When I asked for the pig back so I could take it to the vet they said, "No, I can't sell a sick pig", even though we purchased him already!! I am so sad that I may not see our pig again. They are horrible!

    Grooming at Petco 13741 S Tamiami Trl. Unit 2, Fort Myers, 33912 - I dropped off my 10 pound Terrier mix for a grooming and the lady asked me, how short or long I wanted her hair to be trimmed. I decided for 3/4". Then I was told, it can take up to 3 hours! They would call me, once they are done. After 3 hours, nobody called, so I went there to check if they had the correct phone number. I got told, it would still take 1/2 hour, but I could pay now. Finally, I picked up my dog after 3 1/2 hours. At some places, hair is maybe 1/16" and other places 2" long. It looks horrible.

    Several weeks ago I enrolled my 11 month old male Lhasa dog in the 12 week training course. Today, April 29th was to have been our first session. Upon entering the Petco in Rockwall, TX there was a man checking out and I had stopped to find out where I needed to go for the class and the man checking out without saying a word bent down and started to pet my dog and my dog reacted with an aggressive reaction went toward him. I immediately got hold of my dog and the man proceeded with his checkout. Immediately after that a woman came up to checkout and she was asking me what kind of dog was he and she waited for my dog to come to her and he did. There was not any type of aggression on my dog's part with her.

    I ask the checker where the class was and he pointed me to the location. Never once did the man say anything to me or to my dog. He waited till I was gone and then files a complaint saying my dog tried to bite him & attack him. The trainer finally comes to the room where I am waiting and says that my dog tried to bite a customer & that he filed a complaint & it was store policy that an aggressive dog cannot be in the classes. The trainer said that I would be refunded my full payment of course. I cannot believe that an adult person cannot be more responsible than to approach a strange animal without first asking the owner if it is okay. I was extremely upset that I was not given any opportunity to defend my dog. He has been around people everyday since I brought him home at 10 weeks old.

    After the trainer gave me my receipt for the refund I picked up my dog and proceeded to leave and the trainer said I did not have to carry him out and I told her that I did not want to piss anymore of their customers off and take a chance on him attacking anyone else. I just wanted to let Petco know that I would not be back to their store with or without my pet!

    I set up an appointment for our dog to get groomed at the Petco in Pflugerville, Tx. His appointment was at 10 am. We went and dropped him off. The lady said it would be about 5 hours until he was done. We didn't really want his hair short. We really just wanted a trim and we voiced that. Keep in mind he's a Siberian Husky. The lady insisted we did the 2nd to shortest cut they had because "he has really wool like hair" she said. Assuming the lady knew what she was talking about we went ahead and said "ok".

    We received a call from the groomer around 11 asking for our consent to do a flea bath on him and she said what she usually does is trim them down beforehand so it'll be easier. We said "that's fine". The 5 hours passed still no call. I started to get a little worried so I called at 4:49 pm to see if he was almost done. The guy on the phone said "she had a little trouble with him not standing up and he actually just got done right now". I said "okay thank you. We'll start heading that way". We arrived at petco super excited to see him and when they brought him out he didn't look the way we thought he was gonna come out. He looked ridiculous actually. The lady said "sorry I did the best I could". We paid out and went home and noticed 2 gashes on his head that weren't there when we dropped him off. Had I noticed them when we were at Petco we wouldn't have paid for his grooming.

    We already felt like it was a waste of money paying for his uneven, super short, ridiculous haircut. I could have groomed him better than that and not given him 2 bad gashes on the top of his head. What gets me is the fact that the lady didn't tell us anything about the cuts. I guess she thought we weren't going to notice. No wonder it took so long for them to be done with him. She was probably trying to stop the bleeding. He is all white and it's weird that the only place that was left long was his face and head. His cuts are doing a bit better and we will definitely never take any of our dogs to get groomed there again.

    I have a 9 yr-old Pekingese that has never been caged. Our home is his and he is spoiled. I went to Petco to have him groomed at his appointed time, 12:30pm. Cindy, the groomer and I had a CLEAR and CONCISE conversation at his first visit that when my Pekingese is brought in at his appointment time, he is to be groomed immediately. Cindy said "no problem, I will make notes in the computer on his account so we will be aware of that in future visits." I called after two hours and found out he would not be groomed until 3pm! He had been in a cage for 2 hours and still waiting!     I found a stray dog wandering alone and decided to take him into my home and give him the love and attention he deserves. He was in really bad shape. Mattes all over his body that looked like they're been there for years, fix tails throughout his fur, hair so long on his face it was over his eyes, and his little body was covered in fleas. After getting him his required shots from my local vet I took him into to Petco.

    I have repeatedly tried to give this company a chance, but time and time again they disappoint me. The horrible care of animals at each store I have visited and the disturbing lack of knowledge of the employees who take care of them at Petco is unbelievable. Everytime I visit there is always animals that don't look healthy, cages need to be cleaned and food and water is out - not to mention always dead or sick fish in tanks... What are the employees doing??? You might ask... Well on their cell phones or hanging out talking or avoiding customers at all cost seems. I am 100% sure the person(s) who run this company doesn't even like animals let alone is animal lover.

    When I inquire on an animal... Every time I get replies like, "Hmmm I have no idea or I don't work in this department", "Not my problem". Nobody at Petco seems takes accountability for anything and to try and find someone who knows anything about the animals there is like pulling teeth out of a toothless person. Most of the time the employees are on their cell phones and act like they hate working there. I am not sure why Petco is still in business at all.     Went to PETCO to buy my baby something. Anyone that knows me know I foot any bill I damn please. She told me she didn't feel comfortable with selling me this pet cause for the safety of the animal and that she felt I couldn't afford it. This was after I made the purchase and she tried to pressure me to buy more, Kmsl. As you can see I paid with my card debit. Meaning, she would have to pay me out in cash right then. She did my refund in credit which takes up to 5 days to receive back, my God. I left but without getting upset.

    She began to judge me as soon as I came in the store. Store Manager, her name Brianna. I didn't know that PETCO could sell you an item and take it back based on their opinion of your ability to take care of a pet you just purchased. It had been sold. I felt as though I was mistreated based on the color of my skin. She never wanted to sell me anything.     The grooming prices are too high it cost my friend $213.00 for a cocker. They took advantage of her. That's a house bill!!! Why is it so high??? If it was a high-risk groom she should send it to the vet!!! That groomer must really make out with that commission like it was her own shop with no liabilities!!!     I took my cocker spaniel to the PETCO in West Palm Beach FL on Tuesday 3/29/2016 and yesterday on Wednesday while I was petting him I found a razor burn on his belly and a lot of allergy in that area. They shaved him way too close to the skin and the blade was either dull or hot. I went to get him an ointment and felt bad for my poor dog. The groomers were very nice and pleasant. I really don't like giving a complaint but come on shaving a poor dog so close to the skin should not happen. My regular groomer at the PETCO in Plantation is amazing and my boy has never had an issue with him. But this time I'm really disappointed my baby has to go thru this (see attached picture). I want to be clear. I don't want a refund. The service was done but I want you guys to be careful when shaving!!!

    I haven't had a problem with the store, but online isn't good at all! It started when I asked to be notified when something I was interested in was back in stock (actually 2 things). Then I placed my order & they had a promotion going on for extra pals rewards that I didn't receive & have been chasing them to give that to me, even though I was told I was going to get it... I'm still waiting. I got my order, tried to call them a few times & had trouble simply getting through. My order was messed up, some things were opened (seal was open) & other things were clearly used. When I did speak with a rep, I was told the ONLY way I could return to store was by an e-mail but I can't print it & don't have internet on my phone...     My first repeat order came all at once with free shipping, good prices. Large and small items were thrown into the box with no attempt at wrapping and 2 were damaged. The company has not responded to my complaint.     I'll never bring my dog back to your store. The last time he was there he got butchered after I told the groomer I'll pay the extra for all the matted spots to be combed out. He was shaved in all the matted spots and he looked horrible when I picked him up. Granted some mats had to be shaved but the majority of them could have been combed out. Your groomers get paid to do their jobs and was offered the extra for the matted hair to be removed and they shaved him to save time... Your EXPERIENCED groomers should know you don't shave a golden retriever because their hair doesn't grow back right.

    The recurring order function is about as useful as a fire hose enema. I have previously complained about the 'pause' of the order without reason or explanation only to have it happen more regularly than a high fiber diet bowel movement. If I were in charge I would personally fire anyone involved with this piece of code (the pause for no reason function) as it only serves to leave customers waiting for food that will never arrive. I get that you send out an email that says "your order has been paused".

    This explains why it's been cancelled in no way, shape or form. The resulting frustration of believing I have a repeat order only to find out PETCO is completely inept at fulfilling the repeat order is the reason I am no longer going to use this function. If I wanted this much frustration I would merely smash my face in with a brick. Granted I'm only contributing $1200.00 a year to petco in food... but I guarantee I am going to post this review EVERYWHERE that I can. Only use repeat delivery if you absolutely do not want a successful second delivery - in this way you can be satisfied that you will NEVER have a repeat delivery.

    My dog was very damp when they called me to pick her up. I ask to blow dry her more and they did. But she was still damp and not trimmed up like she had been the other 2 times I had her there. It was another person that done the grooming than the first 2 times. I could have done the job that this person did today. It was NOT A PRETTY job done today. Next time I call to get an appointment, I will see to it that a lady by the name of Dezafea (DEZ) is working the day I bring in my dog and that she will be do the grooming.     On March 3rd I took my pet to store 3752 (in the Bronx, NY) to get groom for the 2nd time after adopting him. They called me to let me know that my pet was ready but that he had an allergic reaction to the shampoo and was red all over his body. Denisse (the groomer) suggested to bathe him again with special medicated shampoo. I agreed to it. When we picked up our dog, he was not happy. He was very shy, so we thought that all the washing probably stressed him out.

    The following day, I realized that he had a huge gash behind his left ear… I went back to Petco, only for the groomers to tell me that it was a "hot spot". I explained to them that our dog has been 100% fine and that perhaps he got cut with the clippers. The store manager did not even come to out address the issue. The groomers did not know what to do and basically suggested me to take him to the vet. Which I did and the vet stated that the injury happen when they were clipping his hair. I WILL NEVER TAKE MY PET THERE, OR RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO THERE. THIS WAS PURE ANIMAL CRUELTY AND NEGLECT!!!

    We took our two dogs to Petco in Cicero, NY for a grooming appointment. Realizing that both were pretty matted after a long winter we realized that they would have to have quite a cut to be normal. Well Coco now has a severe cut with gouges on her nose, back and ears. His skin is showing in spots and he certainly doesn't even look like the same dog that went in for a haircut. Our other dog has a cut that at least makes her resemble the dog that was brought in for grooming. Needless to say, this will be our last trip to Petco for any reason. What was learned? I guess... that even untrained groomers can be hired at Petco for their grooming needs. These dogs are Labradoodles.

    My husband went to take an item back for me to Petco, I paid with my debit card. I told him they should give cash back as it's a debit card. When he went to return the item they refused to give him cash back and made him take store credit. We had our receipt so there should be no reason to get store credit. They also spoke to him rudely why doing the return. If you buy anything from any major retail store with debit and do a return they will give you cash.     I order items for my reptiles constantly. Usually I use petmountain.com. They did not have an item I needed so I looked for everything I was buying on petco.com. I live close to a PETCO but decided to check their online sales and such. I got the package missing an item. I called and got hung up on and then called back to wait on hold for 30 minutes. A non-English speaking person answered the phone and told me the item would be refunded at full price and someone would call in about 2 days for me to get the item again.

    I was refunded a 3rd of the price she told me and no one called. Had to call back and wait on hold again and get things straightened out. On top of all of this the package was poorly packaged. No wrapping paper and the inside boxes were damaged. Luckily nothing was breakable.     I placed an order for pet food during their online 20% off food sale. They showed it as shipped and charged my credit card. I tried tracking for a week but it still showed only a UPS label has been created. I tried contacting them by email twice but did not receive a response back, even though their site says they will answer within 24 hours. I then called and after waiting 20 min for a CSR, they tracked my order and found it never left their warehouse. They said they could only cancel, not replace, my order, and was told that I should receive a credit within a week and that I would need to place a new order but pay full price this time, not the 20% off cost on the original order.

    First, they should not be charging my credit card until it shipped. But if they are charging for orders they are not shipping and giving credit within a week after you complain, this is sure helping their cash flow by using customers' money for a couple weeks and providing no product. Prior to early Dec, they provided good, reliable service but since then when major changes were to have taken place within the company, they have been using dishonest practices. It is advised that people use Petsmart, NOT Petco.

    I scheduled a grooming appointment for my Old English Sheep dog, Molly, at the PETCO in Clifton Heights, PA. When I arrived, I explained VERY CAREFULLY to the groomer what I wanted done. I wanted one inch cut off from Molly's 6-inch length fur. I even showed the groomer how much I wanted cut by placing Molly's fur between my fingers so that 1 inch remained above my fingers and said "cut this much off". 90 minutes later I receive a phone call from the groomer who told me Molly had a lot of matting on her chest and front legs and that she would need to be trimmed more in those areas and I agreed as I knew these were problem areas from brushing her.

    EIGHT HOURS LATER... I was finally told I could pick Molly up. I could not believe that this was my dog. Molly, an Old English Sheep dog, was now a poodle. And while I think poodles are cute, my dog is an Old English Sheep dog. Her fur was cut down to about one inch. Everywhere. I lost my composure... especially when the groomer immediately got in my face and told me "you said cut half off". I said one inch... but... even if I had said cut half off, that would mean my dog would still have a good 3 inches of fur left on her. And they tried to charge me $130 instead of the $85 I was told for being a first time customer. I refused to pay that amount and had to have a manager negotiate the price down to $86. Never, and I mean never ever again will I ever go to PETCO for any reason whatsoever. They've taken my money and my dog's beautiful long fur for the last time.

    On Feb 14 I placed an order for a cat tree that was only provided online. The store personnel was very friendly and assisted me in making this order. The order was placed at the store and I was told it would ship in 3 working days. Mindful that Monday was a holiday I figured that in. The cost was presented to financial institution and was promptly deducted from my account. I received an email stating the item had shipped on the 17th. It is now Feb 22 and I still have not received the product.

    I call the number to check on this order and was on hold about 15 minutes. When my call was answered I was told it was not entered as an expedited order and that shipping would be 8 days and that would be today then I was told the product shipped directly from the manufacturer and it would be 8 to 13 days or maybe longer. Then I was told they had the wrong tracking number for the item. I am not sure when I will receive the item that was promised to me in 3 working days. The person online was very apologetic but never offered to over night the item, discount the item, or offer to refund my money. Just keep saying sorry.

    They did not seem to have any trouble getting their payment when they requested it. I was never told about the prolonged shipping time upfront and find the lack of information poor business management. This is certainly an inconvenience and not appreciated.     Petco.com underwent changes to its website. Because of website glitches, nearly 50 in gift card funds were lost when I tried to place an order. I immediately called customer service and was told to pay for my order again, with a credit card, then Petco.com would immediately refund my credit card. This would essentially be correcting the error with the gift card. Six weeks later, 4 calls to customer service, and there has been no refund. Wait time for customer service is 20-40 minutes.     I bought a tube of high calorie vitamins at $12.72 including tax. Found out later, I could order online for $5.52. Even with the $4.95 shipping, it would only be $10.47. (Shipping is free with minimum order.) Then I checked other items and Petco prices are 2 to 3 times higher. Yes they're brick and mortar with expenses but terribly overpriced.     Each time I called the wait time to get to a customer rep. took at least 30 min. I had to make 3 calls to cancel my order and each time I received confirmation that it had been cancelled, to get me off their backs and take money out of my account. The shipment was never ever cancelled and it arrived today only after 2 days since the order was processed! Petco is so desperate to take your money that they will actually expedite your shipment so that they can take your money, despite continuous requests for cancellation. My original cancellation was because they didn't honor the 20% discount that I was eligible for.

    Few calls to Petco said "don't have it in stock Blue Buffalo brand". Then it's "in stock" but can't sell it to me because it's not listed online. One hour phone when I am asked for my credit card it said denied. 2nd credit card was also denied. I was told to call my credit card holder. 1st credit card given was approved then the second card was charge 5 times. I called Petco and they could not help, no supervisor available.

    I went on to Petco.com to find out some online pricing, because they tend to have a lot of sales that they don't carry in stores. I found three items that were a reasonable price (minus shipping) which tends to be $5.99 most times and this so happens to be how much I saved on three of the items, so $18.00 in savings, minus shipping, I was saving $12.00.

    One of the items I realized was the wrong product. I put the order in at 12:15 am, called their customer service at 9:40 am the same day and was on hold for 25 min. The girl then told me that she couldn't do anything because the order was already processed... only 9 hours later and their website does not confirm what she told me, but they won't cancel my order. Instead I am instructed to print a receipt and take it to their store for a refund, but I will still be paying the $6.00 to have an item shipped that hasn't even been shipped yet!

    We purchased 2 large angelfish and within 48 hours they were dead, and so were most of our fish we had had for 5 years. When I took him back, they said our water in our tank was harmful and that's what caused the angelfish to die. It's funny because we went and bought 6 more fish in Austin and put them in our tank and they're still alive. Petco refused to refund our money or even give us a partial credit for the fish. WE NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE AGAIN.

    Pet gates: Went shopping online to see what type of extra tall gates PETCO had. Found one for 53.99 (Carlson Pet Products Extra Tall Expandable Gate with Small Pet Door) with free shipping if purchase over $49. Figured I would check store first. Went to local on in Easton, PA. Found exactly what they had, but there was no price listed. Dragged it all the way up front and ask the girl what the price was. Stated it was 89.99. Told her what the online price was. Stated nothing she could do. Told her I would put it back and go home and buy online and that it was sad that the store just lost a sale. She appeared to have attitude like she did not care as it wasn't her store.

    We left our dog Skip at the salon in Petco, Napa at approx. 4:00 PM on Wednesday the 30th of December 2015. Skip was going to get "the works" (wash, nails, brushing, etc). While he was there, my wife and I left to run some errands. At approx. 4:55, we got a call from the manager at the store telling us to there was an emergency and we needed to rush to a local Veterinary Hospital. When we arrived, we were told that Skip had some form of incident and that he did not make it. The manager from Petco was there and he told us that they were preparing Skip for a bath when the person working with him was called out of the room so they left him there attached to a wash basin in a "harness" for "at least five minutes". When they returned, Skip was lying there unresponsive. None of the treatments that he was there for were done. He was untouched.

    The next business day I went into Petco to find out more. I asked to see the "harness", and he showed me a "Slip Lead" rope, which is essentially a choking style leash that is designed to tighten around the dog's neck if pressure is applied to the end of the rope. The choking end was placed around Skip's neck, and the other end was affixed to an eyebolt attached to the stainless steel station tub. So effectively, Skip was left unattended for five minutes while a choking device was wrapped around his neck. I asked to see the surveillance video, but I was told there was not one.

    I made an appointment a week ago. Was asked how old my cat was and if he had his rabies - I told them he was 15 and up to date on shots. I get to my appointment ON TIME and was turned away because of my cat's age! The person I made the appt with should have told me then! I will never go back for anything at Petco.

    So I've been taking my dog Maggie to Unleashed for grooming for awhile and the final time I made a grooming appointment, we were turned away because my dog is old. I drove all that way just to be told they couldn't. I'll be buying our dog needs elsewhere. I'd give them a zero star if that was possible.

    Every time I go to Petco to buy food they never have it. Ever. I've gone 3 or 4 times and it's always gone. The guy at the register was nice enough to get one from another store. I go to pick it up and find out I'm paying more for it than I would at Petsmart. Told the lady every time I come it's never there. She told me I have to call 2 weeks ahead so that I can get a bag. Decided never mind I'll buy the food this time because of the nice guy whom went and got the bag. But never again will I waste my time getting dog food from Petco.

    I went today at 7:15 to use the self-service dog wash and the girl at the front desk named Rei (who by the way made us wait to be "attended") told us that we couldn't use the self-service dog wash because she already cleaned the baths up. Excuse me?? Isn't the service supposed to be open until 8? Does it take 45 minutes to clean up a shower? I have two medium short haired dogs... That doesn't make sense at all. It looked like the girl didn't want to work. Shame.

    I purchased a ferret reluctantly being it was from Petco pet store, and buying for a pet store you don't know the true background, but my son wanted him & after we got him home it was love at first sight. He had more personality than most humans I know. We named him Ozzy, did all our research to know how to care properly for him. 2 days before Christmas I noticed his breathing was heavy & we took him to 2 vets, one regular & a specialist, shocked to find out at the age of 14 months old he's dying from a form of lymphoma that is associated with over breeding. I should have did my research About Marshall ferrets, that is where Petco get their ferrets from. Marshall ferrets in the past have been shut down, fined, etc. I like most didn't know ferrets are like having a dog or cat & extremely loving towards their owners. We were devastated knowing Ozzy won't be with us much longer.

    Please do not support the gross mistreatment of these beautiful animals. It's nothing but a factory that these ferrets come from. There must be a reputable breeder if anyone is thinking of getting one. Plus the thousands of dollars it cost when they get sick, being very few vets know much about treating them when they're sick. Petco does allow adoption days for cats and dogs which is very nice but they must stop supporting Marshall ferrets! Ozzy is on meds to keep him out of pain & we will not let him suffer. I added a few pictures to show people this is what happens. He use to be the light of the house. Now he just lays there. Ozzy was only diagnosed 10 days ago & we will have to take him soon to be put down. I hate to see others & their pets have to go through what my family and I are going through.

    I can sympathize with Ernest on his review as I just went through almost the same thing. Placed an order online December 5, 2015. When I didn't receive after 2 weeks, contacted customer service and was told their website crashed and was being worked on. That's when I found out my order was cancelled. That's when my blood pressure went up because I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but don't like being taken for a fool! Called numerous times and after being on hold 20 min at a time, was told by Katie (escalation supervisor) it all was being handled. I won't go into details (not enough room) about the rest as I'm sure you could imagine yourself what followed. All I can say is Petco should be ashamed of themselves for handling customer service issues the way they do. I got no satisfaction, couldn't understand most of the people I spoke with, and basic math is a problem.

    I was supposed to get the same order shipped to me at the same price and with a supposed discount, and the amount came to more and the girl at the other end was CLUELESS! Never again! I know other companies that would like my business. And if I were an executive with the company, I would take these reviews seriously as your people need to be trained better in how to make a good business decision and please a customer. I also was charged for the order which never happened.

    At the age of 11 my dog, Dutchy, had surgery in mid-August due to a ruptured disc in his spine - prior to surgery he was unable to walk for 2 weeks. It took him 6 weeks to recover and fully be able to walk on his own. As a result of the surgery I try to minimize long walks as much as I can and healthily reduced his weight to alleviate the pain from his osteoarthritis. With the impending holidays I wanted Dutchy to have a bath and decided to make his appointment at Petco (Store 3721, NY) - he is a frequent visitor at this store and it is the closest grooming service in which the walk won't put too much of a strain on him. He was due for his Bordetella vaccine before getting a bath so I coordinated his semi-annual senior Vet visit on the same day.

    When making the appointment over the phone with Petco I spoke to the Manager Christine who also noted that Dutchy needed his Bordetella before taking his bath - I told her I would get him vaccinated and bring in the proof. As I went into the store today for his bath I was told by the young lady working there that because Dutchy had his vaccinations they are required to wait 48 hours before doing any grooming services! So he didn't get a bath and we had to leave! Please understand that in all my years with my dog not once was I told by Petco or his Vet that we have to wait at least 48 hours before he gets a bath.

    Please note that Christine, the manager, had not mentioned this "Petco" mandate - even after calling on 2 different occasions and speaking to the same person. Please understand my frustration as I made my dog walk almost an extra hour (to Petco and back home). He was mildly limping as we were almost home and I fully intend to file a complaint directly with Petco and should any treatment be needed because of the strain put on his legs today I will mandate that Petco be held accountable and pay for any future treatment.

    My regular groomer was on vacation, but was scheduled to return soon, so I took my Bichon Frise to Petco to be bathed, dried, and brushed/combed out. I thought this would be a good occasion to see if Petco could be used as backup to my regular groomer's schedule. When I picked up my dog, her appearance was the same as when I took her to Petco; she just smelled better. It seemed as though she was bathed and dried, but her hair/tail was still kinky curly as though she had not been brushed. I definitely will not give Petco another chance.

    Ok so yesterday I went to PETCO to get a Bearded Dragon. I only found 2 staff that were willing to help me the whole time I was there. One of the employees had to bring somebody up to get the reptile out for us. He looked like he was on crack. He yanked the cage open with no concern for the Bearded Dragons and grabbed one out. He was squeezing it quite hard while he was examining it. On the way to the register, he stopped by one of the employees and held the Dragon up to her face and tried to scare her like a 5-year-old would. My Dragon is doing good since I brought it home but I felt bad for the animals there. They should improve the experience and not hire people that looked like they spent 20 years in prison for child molestation.

    I recently had an experience with the manager at the Petco store at 15th street and Alma in Plano, TX. His name is Kyle and I am completely dissatisfied with how he treated my father. My father is a 75 year old man who had a question about which harness to buy to help our dog walk better. Kyle not only talked down to my father as if he was a 10 year old boy who knew nothing, but also called him an irresponsible dog owner because we were inquiring about the chains. Kyle also tried to push his opinion on us saying that even though "his store" carried the chains, it was NOT fine to use on a dog and that we would be "irresponsible dog owners" if we bought it.

    I tried to tell him we had already used the harness he had suggested, but our dog ate it. Again, he proceeded to tell us that it was our fault he ate it and that we would be "irresponsible dog owners" and punishing our dog if we used the chain. At this point, my father was tired of his character being attacked when all we asked for was which harness to buy and not to hear we were bad dog owners. Yes, my father got angry when he started being attacked and started to become difficult, but who wouldn't when the MANAGER is saying all these disrespectful things to you in front of your family.

    Kyle then tried to kick my father out of "his store". I would hope that Petco managers have been trained in how to deal with difficult customers and it would not be by arguing with the customer and attacking his character. I do not believe Kyle should be fired, but he should be demoted to work on his managerial skills a little bit more. I am very disappointed with Petco and will not be returning there because of Kyle. If these are the type of people Petco is hiring AND making their managers, then Petco is not the type of company I want to support.

    I bought a two inch lobster (crayfish) for my son at PETCO. Within hours it died. This is a common theme there. I've previously seen dying / dead fish and frogs in their tanks. I've bought a snail and frog that died too. My bad, why did I buy the lobster there? I was trying to make my son happy. Terrible. It cost me $20 bucks, plus the food which was $8.99! I am planning on taking the dead lobster back (yes, it is gross). We'll see what happens next! I really wish the Atlanta metro had mom and pop pet stores instead of endless chain stores.

    Placed an order on 8 Dec 2015 for 6 ten pound bags of aquarium sand and 2 twenty pound bags of crushed coral. Long story short got 100 pounds of sand. Also there was no packing slip or receipt in any of the 3 boxes sent. The only proof of this transaction is my Paypal. Petco never sent me anything for this order. Called them and got, "We will get the right stuff right out to you," and today (17 Dec 2015) got an email. The say item but it is items and how much is the refund and when will there be a refund? These people are just bad.

    My family and I were looking for a pet bird. We walked inside and there was dozens of dead a dying animals! Petsmart isn't even that bad but Petsmart is still bad. I walked out of Petco crying. We have never been there since.

    I'm very displeased with how unpleasant Petco is. My hamster died after 2 days of having it. I buried my hamster. What did they say when I wanted to get another hamster? "We'll have to have the hamster body." So I told them we buried him. Their response? "Then you'll have to dig him up." What kind of horrible people say that to a kid who just lost their hamster that came from their facility after having it for 2 days???
