Clean bright and well-organized store with a huge selection and friendly people. They helped me set up an aquarium for my classroom and let me know when their floor models went on sale. Their salespeople are a great resource and very knowledgeable. They are happy to answer questions and help you find what you need.

Was delighted when PETCO came to Hilo, HI since it is convenient to where I live--but though the selection is their usual great one, the prices are so outrageous that I have only gone in there a couple of times in the years they've been in Hilo.

I get my roaches from there. It's the only place that has them close to here. The main problem I have is the availability of the roaches and any bugs from there. Sometimes when you buy any bugs from Petco they are a poor quality. Their lizards look to be in good health and they do have a variety for cats and dogs.

I like the level of expertise at the store. You can ask about products and get a real answer and comparisons. The service is very courteous and the store is clean and has a huge selection of pet products. I had to go in and buy a leash for my dog and the clerk helped me and explained to me what the Products offered and how to size properly. I also had a question about food and the clerk walked me thru the different brands and explained to me what would be recommended for my pet and what the pros and cons and reviews on the foods. Finally if you happen to go on a Sunday brand specialist for foods and products will be present at the stores and will even offers a discount coupon on some promotional products. Overall I have to say great experience!

We don't have a "local" pet store so that we have to use a chain. Petco tends to be a bit more expensive but the quality is great and they take animals from the local shelters to try finding them homes. They have an amazing selection and while I'm not always pleased, the staff are always pleasant and helpful which makes up for it.

I like the knowledge of the Petco employees in reference to my two Bichon Frise dogs. They have helped me find many products to feed, care for and treat my dogs! I know that giving them Orijen freeze dried food gives them nutritional meals each day. I have purchased antler bones for my dogs to chew. In Petco I have found the perfect collars, leashes, winter sweaters and toys for play. I purchased the best large wood kennel from Petco that looks like a fine piece of furniture in my home. All in all, I have Happy Healthy Loving dogs because of good products and good care.

Initially I had a great in-store purchased. However I bought some items online. It was difficult to track my online order because of online setup. Then I had a issue with a cat tree that fell apart. I called for return options. They informed they had a 30 day return policy. But I can try to take it back in-store and "see" if they would take the item back.

We prefer to shop at small locally owned stores but unfortunately, the only one near us went out of business recently. Petco was across the street. We have 3 dogs who each have different food needs and Petco has all the brands we use. Prices are fair for the premium brands we use. The staff is always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They also collect used/extra pet supplies for a local rescue.

I started being a loyal client of Petco the moment that after lots of labs, tests and prescribed meds and food for a skin condition were given to my Godiva (chocolate Lab) with unsuccessful results. One day I went to Petco and talking with an employee mentioned him the problem and he recommended a specific food, which only Petco has, and detailed me all the benefits of it. Once started feeding Godiva with that food her skin condition went away completely. The customer service is exceptional, the services are great but they always have problems with the inventory of products in the stores, most of the times they “ran out of the food” but can order it with free shipping to the store and you have to pick it up, should be free home shipping to compensate the trip for nothing.

When I first brought my puppy home, I wanted to like Petco because they had a location within walking distance of my home. (it closed last month) Unfortunately, I've been disappointed almost every time I've shopped at any of their locations. I'm either ignored completely by employees or followed around by pushy sales people from the moment I walk in to the moment I walk out. I had my pup groomed at a Petco once and they did a terrible job. None of the toys I've bought from Petco have lasted more than a couple days because they are such poor quality. (My dog is by no means rough with his toys). The selection of food and treats leaves a lot to be desired and the prices are not any better than their competitors. Also the store layout is usually not as organized or logical as other stores.

I took my hospitalized sister's dog, a pedigreed pekingese, to an appointment this morning for a shampoo. I specifically stated not to cut the dogs hair. This afternoon when I picked the dog up I found the groomer had cut all of his ruffles to 1/2 inch length. When I complained to the groomer she stated the dog had diarrhea. When I suggested she should have called me rather than disobey my instructions she became irate, threatened to call the police. The manager stated the groomer was "upset" as it that justified what she did. Do not take your pet to Petco for grooming. They cannot be trusted.

I've taken my pets for grooming and haircuts at the Tacoma Mall location in Tacoma WA. Every time I am asked to sign a form allowing the groomer to shave in case there is a problem. Unfortunately any minimal issue is consider a "problem" only to be solve by shaving. Today was the second time but this time I did not consent to shaving. After dropping my dog, about 10 minutes later, I got a phone call asking me to go back and collect my dog since they will be unable to groom him I was told. This is a very unfortunate situation b/c I could no go back right away due to my job.
Quite honestly I can't understand what they told me to be a problem. Based on my experience taking my pets for about 3 times now to Petco grooming, all groomers just don't like to work as what the suppose to be: groomers. The issue with my dog could be easily resolved by using a bit o water. My dog is a house dog and, by no means, has matting problems. I wish Petco could hire professional instead of just "wanna be" individual with no love for their profession, the animals they work on and for and most importantly groomers capable of grooming and not just "getting the job done for a few dollars." Needless to say, I will not go back to Petco for anything, not just grooming. I do not like to support companies nor individuals that do not take pride in what they do and seem to be happy with the bare minimum.

I wanted to come here and leave a review because I think most reviews are left only after a bad experience. I really like my local Petco (Eureka, Ca). It’s large, clean, organized, well-stocked and the employees are (surprisingly) knowledgeable, helpful and friendly (without coming off fake). I LOVE getting the 10% discount for shopping and purchasing online and picking up myself at my local store. I only live 10 minutes from Petco so the entire experience is so easy, and the 10% discount is a big incentive for me. I just did my first online order today through Petco for a rather expensive purchase; a Lay-Z-Boy dog sofa (I know, I know! Ridiculous!). I chose to order it from Petco over every other online shop, including Wayfair, because
b) They got better reviews than Wayfair.
c) I’m hoping if there are any issues or problems I’m not at just the whim of a corporation on the phone, I can get help via my local store (this is according to Petco).
The couch is due to arrive Tuesday Jan 27. When I receive it I will come back here and finish my review. Fingers crossed I’ll be leaving 5 stars!

Went to PetCo for the first time today, will definitely be the very last, looking for a Cockatiel in my local area, Fresno, a few other pet stores wanted $60 to $150, Petco price $249.99 and they had the birds for nearly a year already, not suprising. I ended up joining a waiting list for a bird with another store (not PetCo) and at a price of $60 and 4 months old. I noticed in other stores that Parakets sold for $17 to $20, Petco price $25.99, even other products were all jacked up in price compared to Amazon and many others. It is almost like legal robbery of some kind, anyone looking for a pet then look elsewhere in your area before getting ripped off.

Each time I was told "don't worry it will ship and be there on time". Then came the email 7 days later telling me it was back ordered and when I contacted them again they said it was canceled. Mind you this was after 2 days of speaking to them and them reassuring me it would still ship.
To make matters worse the supervisor took 15 minutes to accept my call and all she could say is she could refund my money and it would take 5 to 7 days to get back into my account. I was supprise that she might be implying that they would not refund my money if I had not asked them to do so. I was late, no lie, for my dog’s grooming appointment at PETCO, PAOLI, this morning. And groomer Stephanie was pissed, no lie either! Stephanie’s PETCO holiday grooming schedule is causing her quite an amount of stress, and she is having a challenge handling her job duties and stress. When I arrived, introducing myself and my dog, she did not make eye contact and immediately barked at me, pun intended, “Didn’t you get my message? I called and left a message and told you you couldn’t be late!” She went on to say lots more to me and I quickly decided I didn’t need to be admonished by a disgruntled PETCO employee and left, dog in tow!
I have had my dog groomed at this PETCO twice before, and the groomers have been courteous and efficient in their skills. Stephanie needs to learn how to cope with her job stress and more importantly, her social skills, especially toward a customer for who she provides a service. I am quite certain it is not in her job description to display rudeness and verbal hostility toward PETCO customers. With a groomer this volatile, I would not want her armed with grooming shears near my dog! PETCO HR should step in and assist Stephanie with stress and anger control as well as customer relations. Further, there were no other animals in the grooming room, so even more upsetting that Stephanie felt the need to tell me off for being late for my grooming appointment. It is certainly not the best or only groomer in town, so goodbye PETCO!

Nov 02, 2019 Order Number ** Totaling $17.07 for 3 items (Zoo Med Nano Infrared Heat Lamp, 40 Watt) SKU: 2941390 for $5.69 Each. I originally placed an order online Oct 02, 2019 for these items only to find out that I was defaulted to (Repeat Order) and received another duplicate shipment charged to my Bank Card on November 02 2019. Many companies seem to be doing this to people and hiding the fact that the order is set to duplicate. It's FRAUD in my opinion and I will not be ordering from PETCO further. Lovely free enterprise system we have to allow this to happen to people. Thanks and have a better day.

We hope you're doing well.
Thank you for sending us your concerns and we apologize if part of the order you placed on October was mistakenly set up as a Repeat delivery. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

However I tried placing an order this week and lo and behold a Processing fee for shipment to Hawaii appeared. I asked for the call to be escalated, because they outsource their calls, and it is sometimes nearly impossible to understand what they are saying!! Well along Comes "Harmony" A corporate rep. Well she stated that she did not know why I had never received this processing fee and they could not waive it. SHE IS A LIAR BECAUSE THAT FEE IS NEW AND NEVER WAS THERE BEFORE!!!
She would not budge and so I ended my membership and she did not even seem to care about it. WORTHLESS CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LIES!!! I WILL NOW DO ALL OF MY BUSINESS AT PETSMART!!! Their entire section for small pets like rabbits, rats, mice, ferrets, and parakeets is completely inaccurate. They sell inappropriately sized cages for many animals, recommend inadequate food for these animals, and sell cedar and pine shavings as bedding, which any rat owner could tell you releases fumes that are toxic to rats when wet. Without a doubt this is the most frustrating company to order from...ever! I ordered prescription food for my ill pet. Petco has messed up everything possible including the shipping. When calling to verify, calls are routing to the Philippines where representatives have promised me that the order was shipped (it was not), that my Vet was faxed (they were not), that they would expedite my order at no expense because of my inconvenience (they did not). My prescription is now expected to take 8 days while my pet is sick and waiting(!). Supervisors say Petco did nothing wrong and they can't fix it. Shame on Petco! PETCO YOU MADE A LOYAL CHEWY.com CUSTOMER OUT OF ME. I will NEVER ORDER ANYTHING FROM YOU AGAIN! Try Chewy or any other retailer... Do not believe Petco's false lies!!!

On 15 October I took my two dogs for a scheduled grooming appointment at Wareham branch of Petco. I will never try that again. I have used them on and off for at least 8 years and every time I have a bad experience I give them a break for a while (six months to a year) and then go back again after a while. They have messed up a number of grooming sessions and the dogs came back badly groomed, they hurt my airedale's nails so badly when she was younger she won't let anyone touch them!
They are all about meeting their schedule and not for the love of animals, they employ young inexperienced groomers - when I probed about emergency procedures if something should happen while they were there I was told they would take my dog to a veterinary specialist and that I could then deal with the veterinary specialist - they couldn't guarantee me that they would call me or inform me first. I got aggressive behavior from a younger groomer that a customer should never have to experience, I was told they would walk out if they had to groom the dogs because I was asking awkward questions (the dogs have been there at least 20X).... The sad part is that she was not going to or even try to listen!
I will never look at a PETCO logo the same way again - every business has to deal with difficult situations involving customers - that reality - however aggression to a customer is never tolerated. The lasting image I have is their bad behavior. My second thoughts are that if I left them there would they take their anger out on the dogs - I could not be sure and removed them before grooming! Never again ..............it is more interesting if you search feedback on grooming there are an alarming number of complaints along these same lines - the question begs - does management really care ! Is this a haven for animal services or just a money machine!

An online order was placed through the company website for topical flea treatment for large cats. The purchase online and pickup at store option was selected since there was a reduced price from the price offered in the local brick an mortar location. The order was completed, payment made, a charge made to my bank account, and a confirmation email received. The email stated "We'll send you an email when your order is ready for pickup."
Forty minutes later a message was received stating "Thanks for your order! Unfortunately, the product(s) you ordered were not in stock at the store you selected." "Sit tight—one of our customer service representatives will call you shortly to help you find another store or a shipping solution for the products you ordered." Nobody called. Instead another message was received an hour and twenty three minutes later from customer relations reiterating the local store did not have the item and that they "want[ed] to make things right" and they were "offering [their] assistance to place the order online with free shipping." A number to call was given and a service number was included when making the call.
I went to the local store to see if the item was available. They had three left. I was angry and decided to wait a day or two before calling the telephone number. Four days later I called and had to withstand a fumbling support person on the other end who had to ask me three times who I was and four times what it was I was ordering over the course of twenty minutes. When the support person finally completed the order I was given a price that was more than one and a half times the store price and definitely not the original order price. After I challenged the price quoted I was then given the regular store price along with the addition of shipping and handling and taxes. This whole experience was a typical scenario for baiting and switching to avoid completing an order at the original order price.

First time user of Petco. Product was to be shipped in three boxes. I received one and the other two were marked as delivered online. When I called they said to give it time, it may eventually show up, even though files already indicated the order had been delivered to someone. I was told if I did not receive my order to call back again and they would refund money paid. A good reason to shop at Chewy.

Tried to order ** from the pharmacy. They said it was in stock. The prescription was at 1-800-PetMeds which was out of the medication. All PETCO had to do was call and have it transferred. They refused to make a call. I cancelled that and a few days later tried to put the prescription through directly from my vet. I was standing next to the vet when they called petco to confirm the new prescription. Petco insists that never happened and refuses to call my vet to get it straight. Worst customer service I have ever dealt with.... So far 3 1/2 hours dealing with them. All I have gotten so far is charged for medication they have not delivered.

Have it 2 or 3 days. 3 days later still NO order. Called again. "Oh sorry, UPS forgot to pick up your order." WHAT? "We will expedite it and you will have it Tuesday." This is 11 days now. Tuesday comes and till no order. Got a credit of 49.26. Called and asked why? "Oh you asked for a refund so we refunded your order in full." "NO I didn't ask for a refund and you charged me 57.28." "No we didn't." "Uhm, yes you did."
I asked if they wanted to see bank statement. Then magically PETCO guy found another transaction just being 'updated that very minute for a 7.02 credit. Now my refund has been processed in full and is there anything else I need? Well, what about the stuff I ordered that you have had my money for 11 days so I could not buy elsewhere? Do you not offer an apology, a discount or anything? Well, no I guess they don't because PETCO Customer "Non-Service" hung up on me. I will no longer shop there online or in store. Petco bought out the online pet pharmacy I used to use, they were wonderful and their turnaround was about 24 hours. Since Petco closed that pharmacy I'm stuck using petco as they are the cheapest I’ve found for my cats insulin, BUT their pharmacy is ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS! For the 2nd time I have order the insulin and waited days for the status of my order to change only to call and have them tell me my vet hasn’t approved the insulin.
I placed my order 8 days ago and have received no contact from petco that there was an issue. Both times my vet has approved it the same day I placed the order, this time around they even called me after it was approved to let me know, but petco says they didn’t. I believe my vet over petco 100%. Now my cat is completely without his insulin and it’s a holiday weekend so I’ll likely get no follow-up information for two more days. They really need to get it together, there is no reason for such terrible service given how big of a company they are.

I spoke on chat with a rep. He said that they were waiting (4 days) for my vet to get back to them. Suggested I call vet and have them send confirmation and then check back to see if they got it in 10 minutes. Vet said they did it on the day it was requested but would do it again. I got a different rep and she said she couldn't help me - they have no communication with the pharmacy and couldn't tell me if they received it and I would have to wait 24-48 hours. I said, "Ok let me cancel. My dog needs it now." (Medicine was $115). She said ok she would cancel.
I went to 1-800-PetMeds and ordered AND paid for expedited shipping and it was ready for shipping within a few hours - no problem. BUT PETCO then emailed and said they could not cancel the order as it was already being shipped. NOW I have to either return (which is a hassle because it is prescription) or keep both $115 medicines and hope they are good for my dog. No answer back from the email I sent either - NOT A GOOD PRACTICE and would never use them again for anything!!!

After REPEATED phone calls where in each call I was told that it was in stock, I finally today received an email saying that my order was suddenly cancelled. Every time I called I was told that my vet had not approved the prescription. My vet faxed the order in twice AND called it in for me because I told them Petco had not received the order. Washington Blvd 21227 location. I walked into Petco 8.4.2019 specifically to schedule a bath for Butterscotch, my 3 year old orange tabby. One week prior Butterscotch was treated at his vet for fleas and to my knowledge was doing pretty good after treatment. The young ladies at the grooming counter were made aware of our situation. I was told that Adam is the only one who grooms cats and his first availability was 8.16.2019 at 5p. I informed the young lady of my commute (work, home, Petco). She stated that they had a 15min grace period, no worries. Great, appointment booked.
When the big day comes around myself and Adam, the groomer, are literally calling each other at the same time (5:02p). I immediately go into notifying him that I'm 3mins away and didn't take into consideration that Butterscotch does not like his carrier, etc. Instead of acknowledging my apology with explanation, Adam goes into how this is his last appointment and how he started not to take it when the young lady at the counter consulted him for permission. He also went on to tell me that the grooming could take 2-3hrs and they don't usually provide a grace period.
Once I pulled up to Petco (yes, I pulled up rather than parked to ensure Adam didn't throw even more of a fit) I introduced Butterscotch and all mentioned above. I finally parked only to re-enter finding Adam inspecting Butterscotch's coat. Once I approached, Adam stated that he believes Butterscotch has a skin condition. I asked what kind and he stated that he had seen it before but was not sure of the name. He was, however, sure that he would not groom Butterscotch in fear that he could make things worst. My questions and his fake answers went on for about 15-20 minutes.
A $70 vet exam later (with free bath once they heard my Petco horror story), Butterscotch was exonerated of "Dr. Adam's" false accusations. I don't even want to imagine what he would have done to my baby in my absence if services were rendered. I went to Petco in Round Lake, IL for a grooming appointment. On the way into the grooming center, my daughter fell and scraped her knee badly. The groomer took in my dogs to check them in. After repeatedly asking for a paper towel to help with my daughter's nasty scrape and the bleeding, they looked confused and gave me a used grooming towel. No I needed a clean towel. To make matters worse the grooming charges were $44.00 per dog. But they up charged $17.00 since my dog is matted. He was just groomed 6 weeks ago and any matting would be minor. They said it is extra work for us to groom a matted dog. So the grooming charge will be $70.00 for one 22 pound cockapoo and $70.00 for one 18 pound min pin terrier mix breed dog.
I declined the grooming. Petco should not be giving prices to customers only to get them into grooming and then tell the customers there are extra fees due to matting. Lastly, no one at Petco would help my daughter without speaking firmly to them. I left to go home with my daughter's scraped knee and dogs still not groomed. Not happy at all.

I'm all about aquatics and amphibians. Every employee running these stations gives me information that is not conflicting and if they don't know, sometimes they'll Google it for me. They price match to their website, which I found can be dollars cheaper. They're all friendly and I feel as if they value what they do. They greet customers, offer help and some if they actually want to learn. This store also carries Keyholes, Rainbow cichlids, Rams, Apistos, Threadfin rainbows, Pencil fish, Cherry Shrimp, Neon Gobies, salt water fish, corals, and regular fish. If the fish isn't there, you can request an order if it's on a list. They also had freshwater micro crabs (Thai crabs). I'm very impressed with this store.

This was supposed to be the second in a series of autoshipments on RX dog food for my highly allergic pet. I purposely moved up the shipping date by a week to assure that the food would not be late since there was no other food he could eat and we were in a remote location and the food could not be purchased locally. Regardless, the earlier date was ignored, the written RX which they had on file from the first shipment (with unlimited refills) was misplaced by them and then only after several calls and emails by me, pleading not to let my dog go hungry, did they finally ship via ground, the slowest, cheapest method they could find, even after I offered to upgrade to overnight.
I found their customer service to be despicable, uncaring, nasty, aloof, and downright inhumane. Shame on Petco. The latest problem is receiving an email notification that my delivery is ready to ship, the company applies a pending charge to my card and the item that's suppose to ship isn't even in stock.
Once again I call the company to cancel the order given that the food isn't even available and ask them to reverse the pending charge on my account. Two days later, the order still isn't canceled and the charge hasn't been reversed. Another phone call to request the same thing, the order is finally canceled but I'm told the charge on my account won't be reversed for 5-7 days!!! Seriously???? Don't go here if you have a pet with allergies. I needed to change my dog's food due to vet concerns with the food she was on, well the dog food I chose at PETCO, go figure, she was allergic to it. I had been speaking to my vet and she had told me to give the new food 2-3 weeks to level out, so that's what I did. Needless to say 2-3 weeks didn't matter, she was allergic and that was that, so I attempted to return the food.
Having returned food before at PetSmart (I went through this trying procedure once before trying to find food she wasn't allergic to) it has never been an issue not having the bag or the receipt. Let's face it 2-3 weeks go by, you've thrown the bag away because you want it in an airtight food container and I can't remember where the receipt is now. PetSmart looked up my receipt in their system one time and was able to look at purchases with the PetSmart card to verify another time (I think I need to start keeping my receipts. Haha)...I also didn't have the bag, so I brought it to them in my air tight container. PetSmart exchanged it. NO problem. PETCO on the other hand...they wouldn't do anything, they said they can't look up my receipt, can't look up my PETCO card purchases, and absolutely will not take it back without the bag.

Petco sold me counterfeit Seresto Collars. I have been using these collars for years and only buy from reputable distributors of Bayer (manufacture of Seresto). Well I had been buying from my veterinary office or Drs. Foster and Smith-no problem. Well Petco bought out Drs. Foster and Smith and sent me a coupon to purchase from them. So I used the coupon and bought my dogs two new collars when they were due. Well a little time goes by, one day I am grooming my dog and I find 30+ LIVE FLEAS!! 1 or 2 fleas okay, the collar is working - NOT 30!! I was mortified!! I have a newborn baby in the house and I am highly allergic to fleas. I immediately call Petco's 1-800# tell them.
I asked where they get their Seresto Collars answer "A warehouse in the United States." I said, "You don't buy directly from Bayer. Who makes the product?" "Ma'am they come from a warehouse in the United States." They couldn't even tell me who made the product, I knew because I am a retired veterinary technician and I have used Bayer products on my pets for years.
The next day I call Bayer and give them the serial numbers off the collar and description of the collars and they are 100% COUNTERFEIT!! Bayer was nice enough to send me two brand new authentic collars at no charge after I sent in my receipt. Bayer wanted the collars shipped to them. Petco did not want to refund the $99 I paid for the collars and are worthless and terrible on the phone. I called them 6 times and got the runaround. They wanted Bayer to refund me - I DIDN'T BUY THE COLLARS FROM BAYER! I ended up having to get Vectra 3D to put on my dogs until my collars came. So I spent another $50 on two single doses of Vectra.
Petco didn't want to do anything and each time my call is "supposedly" being recorded but I have to go over and over again with them. They would not issue my money back even after I gave them all the information from Bayer. Bayer said they have a contract with them on their products, so they are not sure how I got counterfeit Seresto collars because they are supposed to carry only Bayer authentic products. I ended up contacting PayPal about my money because I paid using PayPal. PayPal investigated and got my money back. I will never purchase a single thing from them again. Horrible customer service and I cannot believe they are scamming people out of money.

I received a phone call on Wednesday afternoon with a tracking number and an admission that the medication was mailed via the USPS on Wednesday! A bit later I checked the Petco website; it indicated that the order was processing. I also checked the tracking number with the result that the Post Office was aware of the tracking number but did not have possession of the package. I followed up and saw my order was still pending....So I reached out (this was 6 days later after ordering). A rep then told me they need the fax number, I got it to them within minutes. They faxed my vet (my vet approved immediately and they have a confirmation fax showing the fax went through to the correct number provided by PETCO). My order sat for 3 more days and then they cancelled it without notification. I had to log in and look at the status of my order to find out it was cancelled.
I then called and spoke with a supervisor, I ordered a year's worth of ** through him and he assured me that my order would be expedited. That the pharmacy was to fax, then call if they had no response from my vet (which again my vet has the confirmation paper showing they approved and faxed minutes after receiving fax from PETCO).
I reached out 2 days after speaking with supervisor and was told that they had heard nothing from my vet. I then had to drive up to my vet and hand off my phone for them to give verbal verification that my** can be filled. I waited 2 days then reached out again to find out if my order was shipped and a chat rep told me she called the pharmacy and they said they had no approval from my vet. I explained that I was standing right next to my vet when they got verbal verification.
I had to call and spoke with the supervisor Rachel, who was the ONLY one who actually got the ball rolling. She explained they did receive verification and they were filling the prescription. The chat rep was wrong...Rachel also gave me a case number so that I didn't have to explain my situation over and over, if I had to call back for any reason. Today is 7/9... It took me a full month of fighting with PETCO Pharmacy to get my do what he needed. I will never order from them again. I have been autoshipping my cat food and litter for years. With regard to the wet food, I always order by the case because cases fit neatly into the space I have to work with. For some inexplicable reason, my order of 96 units of wet food was shipped as INDIVIDUAL UNITS and arrived in three separate boxes which needed to be unloaded, rubber banded, and stacked. Instead of coming from a warehouse as they usually do, they came from a local store. When I called to complain to a supervisor, all she could do was apologize and repeatedly say they have no control over the process. What??? Petco has no control over a process THEY set up??? Please, blow that smoke up someone else's behind.

Petco is a very nice and clean store where you can bring your pet but I wouldn't have them groom or cut my dog's nails simply because they tend to nick the nail where it left an impression on my dog. So I only shop there because they have quite the variety for pets but for grooming I go elsewhere.

They do not think you or your pets are important. If you need insulin or heart-worm medication, they don’t care. You will pay extra for overnight shipping and not get your cats insulin for a week. Their phone service for the pharmacy is outsourced and they have no idea what’s going on ever. Their pharmacy doesn’t get faxes more than half the time your vet sends them something. Their phone constantly disconnects and you have to call back and re-explain yourself over and over again. Again, they don’t care about you and have no idea how to help anyone. I will be changing to a different pharmacy. My vet recommended Chewy or 1800petmeds. Really hoping one of those pharmacies knows how to fill prescriptions in a timely manner.

I ordered my dogs seizure medication 8 days ago (Sunday). I checked on the status of my order two days ago (Saturday) and was told they were waiting on approval from my vet before shipping the medication. When I spoke to my vet, he informed me he approved it the day after the order was placed (Monday). Since a week had already passed and the prescription hadn’t even been processed, I asked to cancel the order and was told they would cancel it. When I checked the status today, over a week after placing the order, and two days after canceling it, it still showed as pending.
When I called to find out what was going on, I was told they couldn’t process the cancellation because it was in the dispensing area, but when I spoke to them two days ago, they claimed they still didn’t have approval. Since I was told the order was cancelled, I ordered it through my regular pharmacy (who got approval and processed it the next day). Since it was a prescription medication, I am now unable to cancel my order or return it. In all, the process with getting medications through Petco will take the better part of 2 1/2 weeks when all is said and done. By then, my dog will or have run out of his very necessary seizure medication if it wasn’t for my regular pharmacy.

Petco advertised packages of Heartgard 6 chewables for dogs up to 25 lbs, 3 packs for $17.97. The advertisement clearly shows the packages of 6 chewables and states 3 pack for that price. What they send and claim you order is 3 doses. They claim that the count it shows at the bottom (3) means 3 doses, but it does not state that it is doses. Nowhere does it state that the count is doses. Not packages. When I told them yes, 3 packages of 6, they said no that count of 3 means 3 doses. But it does not say anywhere in the advertisement. They could not be more clear that they want the buyer to think it is 3 packages of 6 chewables.

I previously ordered my dog's prescription from Allivet, but they were out of stock of the medication he needs (** 5mg), as was my vet and most other online stores. However, it appeared in stock on Petco's website, so I quickly ordered some. That was May 17th. A few days later, my order still hadn't shipped, so I reached out to the customer service and was told our vet was contacted but never replied with the prescription approval. So I called my vet, who stated the approval was sent the day before, May 19th. I contacted Petco again, who said they never received the approval. So my vet called Petco on May 20th. My vet said the person they spoke with confirmed the approval was received but said something about processing time, then put my vet on hold for so long that eventually they had to hang up.
In the meantime, I've run out of medication for my dog, so the vet gives me some of the 10mg they have in stock and we have to split the dose as best we can. It's not ideal, but better than nothing, since he needs this medicine to control his Cushing's disease. I contacted Petco the following day to make sure they received the approval and was told again that they didn't. I relayed that they told my vet they had received it and was told it's probably not showing up because it takes a few days to process approval and then process shipment. I wait a few more days and still nothing, so I reach out again. Again was told they didn't receive approval from my vet. I relay everything that has happened once more and ask them to please call my vet if they cannot locate the approval and was told they would.
Just a day or two later (today, Jun 5, getting close to a month since I placed the order) I get an email that my order has been cancelled by Petco and the 5mg ** isn't even on their website anymore. Now I'm wondering if they were out of stock this whole time and just didn't tell me. Unbelievably disappointed. Won't be shopping with Petco ever again. Fortunately, Allivet was back in stock a few days before this, so I went ahead and placed an order with them just in case. It will arrive tomorrow.

Ordered dry, veterinary prescribed dry cat food for my two cats, two weeks ago. A few business days pass, and I don't get a shipping notification. Weird. I check with my vet, and they didn't receive the consent form from Petco. I call Petco, tell them my vet never received the consent form. They resend it, my vet signs it and sends it back the same day. Great!
I call the next day to ask customer service if the pharmacy received the form. The pharmacy is having "technical errors," so customer service cannot see if the form was received, but they assured me they probably did. They tell me that if I don't see a shipping notification by the next day, to call back. No shipping notification, so I call back the next day. Same thing, customer service can't tell if pharmacy received form, and providing confusing, roundabout answers. This agent tells me it takes two full business days, so if I don't hear anything on Monday, call.
I call again on Monday, because I didn't get a shipping notification. By this time, it's been TWO WEEKS and my cats really need this particular food. Agent now tells me it's actually THREE business days, and to call back tomorrow. At the very end of the business day, I receive an email stating my order was canceled because I put both of my cat's names. I apparently need to place one order per cat.
1. I don't need two bags of 70 dollar cat food right now.2. NOWHERE does it say on the form you can't put two pet names.
3. It's PET FOOD. Not painkillers, not any other type of major treatment. FOOD.
I call AGAIN. This has been two weeks, and 5 phone calls with petco, 2 with my vet. This time I ask to speak to management. I get some pushback, but I do ultimately end up speaking with a manager. I ask to get my order reinstated, but unfortunately, I cannot reinstate a canceled order. I just get a "sorry," here. No offer to expedite the process, no solution, just "Sorry, we can't do that. Have a good day."
I NEVER leave negative reviews, but this experience was so frustrating I feel compelled to tell other people not to trust Petco with pet prescriptions, because they will screw you over, then shrug their shoulders. I ended up ordering through Chewy.com, and their subscribe and save ended up being significantly more generous. Hopefully, the second time is the charm.

I tried repeat delivery on Dr. Elsey's Clean Protein cat food 2/24/19, and got roped in with an $8.23 discounted price, free shipping, on this expensive but highly rated food. The price bumped to $10.30 on the 3/10 reorder (normal repeat order pricing, only the initial order got 30% off), which went to $11.85 on 5/5, then $15.47 on 5/19, representing a 50% + price hike from the 3/10 order rate. So I called customer service for a 2nd time. Again they said it was a manufacturer price increase, without looking at my order #, just to get me off the phone.
After looking at my order, I advised them the reorder price online was $12.94 (If billed correctly, that is still a 25% + increase over $10.30 in 3-months). She talked with her supervisor and made nice with a $10 gift certificate, which I used today. I asked if the next order would be billed correctly, and she said it would, but I've got zero confidence in Petco at this stage.
The other problem with Petco, is when they say the reorder has been processed and shipped, it takes 10 days to deliver. Don't expect Amazon-like speedy delivery. Another gripe, customer service sounds farmed off to another country. Fortunately my 2nd customer service rep could be understood better than my 1st call. She was polite and professional, although I wasn't impressed with her initial brush off, or with her knowledge. Trust in Petco shaken, feeling abused and scammed, I quit the program today and will take my pet business elsewhere. Screw repeat order, and having to monitor each order for price increases/mistakes.

The final straw (others past items where food was sold and was expired and no apology - poor grooming) was when I paid for a course of private puppy training and the trainer failed to return my calls to complete the course. 3 months despite communications in writing, I asked the store for a refund and conveniently that could not locate the paperwork and passed the buck to the trainer. It is only a small amount of money but with you overall excessive charging and lying - I would stay away from this location.

I called the customer service, explained what happened. The lady acknowledges they charged me already and didn't created the order. She said there must have been an error and assured me she would set up a delivery immediately. After the conversation I checked my account only to learn she created a New Order for the same dog foods I paid already and charged me the full price and canceled the transaction of promotional price they originally charged me. No experience required as you can see in the photo. PETCO RUINED MY DOG! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! Petco - Store #547 PCH Long Beach, CA. I ordered heartworm medication for my two dogs - 12 months' supply for each dog - on 5/5/2019. My dogs' heartworm prescriptions for Tri-Heart Plus was provided by Vetco. Thinking Vetco will work better with Petco Pharmacy because basically they are the same corporate. What a BIG mistake! Petco outsources their pharmacy team to Express Scripts and Petco customer service team is offshored to Philippines. These teams which are supposed to be under the same corporate umbrella are completely disconnected to each other. Plus all of the customer service reps in Philippines can barely speak English without heavy accents, they can barely understand what customers are talking about either.
I waited all day Monday 5/6/19 thinking Vetco has already responded to fax approval request from Petco. I called Vetco on Tuesday 5/7/19 to see if they already approved my prescription orders to Petco. They have not responded before I called but they immediately processed it while I was on the phone with them. After I hung up with Vetco, I waited several hours to call Petco to ask my order status. When I called Petco, the Filipino rep said Vetco's approval was still not in their system but they promised that they will process my order with Petco Pharmacy as soon as they confirm Vetco approval.
Next day on Wednesday 5/8/19, I called Petco again, first two reps in Philippines (2nd one was supervisor) said Pharmacy team is working on my order but cannot tell when my order will ship. I asked to speak to their manager. What a surprise! I got ahold of an American rep in Wisconsin (called Premier Support team) and she told me my order will ship tomorrow and email confirmation will be sent tomorrow too. In Thursday afternoon on 5/9/19, all of sudden an email came in from Petco, which was saying one of my dogs' orders was cancelled because all of their stock of Tri-Heart has expiration dates on 12/31/2019 and I ordered 12 months' supply so they cannot provide 12 months' supply which would expire by the time I used them up. But why was only one of my dogs' orders cancelled??, The other dog's order is still showing in progress (suspended due to waiting for vet approval, which is wrong) on my account.
I talked to another American rep in Premier Support team and she said some computer glitch happened in my account but in reality both of my dogs' orders have been cancelled for the same reason. My Vetco vet approved me to get 12 months' supply at one order (I asked her in person) and I don't think it is common for pet pharmacy that all of their medications in stock expire less than 1 year?? This kind of situation tells me that Petco Pharmacy (Express Scripts) are buying bunch of cheap medication which is about to expire.
I went to Chewy.com and ordered Tri-Heart. 30 minutes later I called them and asked if there is a problem to send me 12 months' supply, They said no. Within 2 hours after I placed new order with Chewy I was contacted by Chewy rep and Vetco rep on the same line (3-way call) and asked about my cancelled order with Petco. I explained the situation and Vetco and Chewy started to do their best to speed up my order processing. What a difference between Chewy and Petco!
Here are my lessons learned:-Avoid using Petco Pharmacy as much as possible. Chewy has the same pricing on most heartworm medications only with much much better customer service.
-If you ended up ordering through Petco and want to talk to customer service, try to speak to their "Premier Support Team" who are in Wisconsin. All other reps with Petco are in Philippines and you will have hard time to make them understand your needs.
-Express scripts are selling medications that have close expiration dates (probably resold leftover inventories).
-Petco customer service and Petco Pharmacy (Express Scripts) are disconnected, not acting as the same company.
-Vetco and Petco are disconnected as well.

Fast forward to April 22, 2019 - called to have the remaining refill sent for our elderly dog.
After over an hour and several calls, I finally reached a call center (in India?) where the service rep understood the concept of "refill" (as opposed to new prescription). But they still had to get verification from our vet to refill the prescription. Vet's office called on April 24 to let me know they had faxed verification to Petco. Received email from Petco on April 26 advising me that my order was on the way with UPS tracking number. It's April 29. Package does not appear to have matriculated from pharmacy warehouse to UPS yet. Seriously?
In addition to the poor pharmacy service, the customer service people through whom, it appears, the orders must be placed, have no understanding of how prescription orders work - it's more than a language issue. There is no phone line dedicated to pharmacy customers and the phone number on the prescription label turned out not to be for pharmacy customers. Again, seriously? And let's not forget the poor quality of what passes for 'music' while stuck on permanent-hold. The fine folks at Drs Foster and Smith are truly missed!

The water quality they have compared to mine must be very different when it comes to minerals and pH. I buy 6-8 shrimp at a time usually and about half die. Sometimes only one or two die. This is due to something called the white ring of death when dealing with molt death.
The shrimp basically have an issue molting because of the difference in suppliers>petstore>my house's water quality. I drip acclimated my shrimp and introduced them to a quarantine tank. Then if they survive I place them in the main tank, which has the same water composition (I have 4 tanks so one of them depending on the type). Sometimes they just don't survive the first molt. I've set up 4-5 tanks for my friends and family; now that I want to set up my own tank the manager says that I can't do refunds because I'm abusing the system. That there must be something wrong with my water or set up to keep having so many dead shrimp.
That she doesn't have returns happen like that... Well, sadly probably half of the dead shrimp get eaten from other people/ or they can't find the body don't realize and just flush the specimen. But, the gentleman told me to call back in a half hour so we could call the next location. I could type for an hour, but I'll give a summary. Next call, that rep on break, the guy who is there calls but doesn't ask the vet the right question, then tells me we can revaccinate if I reach out to petcoach.co and get an answer that it is safe to do so, which I did and have the email. Call back to tell them, the girl says she'll escalate.
Several days later no call. It is in the notes but never escalated correctly. Retell dilemma to new people several times, and always ask them to call my cell. After 10 days I pick up a message that is 4 days old from a supervisor who calls from a blocked number, asks me to call back and never leaves a number. I call back and spend over an hour. Seems they sent a refund of about $22 to me (I haven't received yet, but probably will). But, my complaint is that the ala carte price for these two meds will be about $55. So, I asked to make sure that I don't spend more than $17 more out of pocket, which is equal to the discount portion for the meds she threw up. So, now, we are only talking about $16 additional discount off their published a la carte price, and it is the principal - if you make it so inconvenient by moving weekend locations for loyal customers, that on the rare occasion this happens, make it a win-win.
Well, you guessed it by now, they called back and said there is no way to determine if it was a reaction to the med or car sickness, and they will do no more. It is sad they are losing a lifelong customer, who traveled nearly an hour, went to a website they instructed me to, got an email they asked me to, spent hours on the phone with broken promises and commitments, and then wouldn't make it right by $16. True character is only discovered when it is tested. Petco/Vetco may look great from afar, but when it came to their caring about a pet and their customer's experience that included several errors on their end, and offering a reasonable solution, they failed miserably.

I Petco manager couldn't get anything done. He was told my Vet would need to call them with an authorization number. What the hell is the script for? I had to switch to Petco since they took over Drs Foster & Smith. I was assured by F&S that the transition for the meds my pets need would be taken care of. It has been a royal nightmare from the very beginning. I had my vet send in a new Rx to Petco; but nothing ever happened. When I called I just got scripted answers from the customer service center that went absolutely nowhere. After asking for a supervisor to speak with, I found a lady who at the very least got 3 bags of the lactated ringers sent to me. But now I'm back to getting emails that say my order is on the way (I can't even find out what the order is supposed to be), then an email that says my order is cancelled for ? reason, then another email that says, "The order is coming," etc.
I answered an email from another rep about whether or not I still wanted my order shipped, to which I replied essentially "YES, ship it now!" When I wrote the supervisor about the email asking me if I still wanted the order, I commented that it seemed that Petco was just playing games with me. She then responded that per my request she had cancelled the order. Honestly, this has been going on for over a month now!!!! This company shouldn't even be in business with this kind of service and I regret ever buying anything from Petco in the first place. This issue just seems to keep dragging on and on with nothing positive happening, I will have to buy supplies locally again, and will be posting more complaints about this business as I have time. And no pharmacy, pet or otherwise, should ever operate this dysfunctionally.

For 2 1/2 years I got my dogs prescriptions from Foster and Smith with no problems but Petco pharmacy is a completely different story. My first order came in a relatively timely manner but one of the capsules had nothing in it. I called to let them know. The gentleman who was taking care of my call either couldn't understand my problem or wasn't sure how to handle it. In the end he was going to compensate me for the problem but that was 3 weeks ago and have heard nothing.
My second order was placed on March 31st. It is now April 10th and I have received anything. I have called 3 times. I got the song and dance about my vet not faxing back the scrips but that was not the case. They had. One of the prescriptions they said they said they had sent out on April 8 but when I called today it still had not gotten to the UPS station and they also told me that had not dealt with my second drug prescription even though they have had my vets script since April 4. I had to go to my vet to get both prescriptions filled at 2-3 times Petco's price. Customer satisfaction should be number one if they want my business and they just lost it!

I placed an order online March 30 for a senior dog food that I cannot buy in my local store. I checked the tracking 1 week later to find that UPS did not have the package to ship. I called customer service and was on hold for 1 hour before hanging up. I called the next day and was also on hold for another hour. The third day, April 9th I was on hold for an 1.5 hours before talking with Christine in customer service. I told her the situation and I was told the package was lost in transit, then I explained UPS did not have the package. She offered to refund my money or process the transaction. I asked for overnight shipping at no charge due to the 10 day delay and calling 3 days in a row and being on hold for over 3 hours. Christine agreed and then told me the product was out of stock.
I asked for a supervisor that could make this right. Christine came back with a voucher offer of $10 off. I said no and asked for a supervisor. Christine came back with a $15 off voucher. I said no and asked for a supervisor. Supervisor Corin came on and told me that is all they can offer. I explained my frustrations of the shipping, having to be on hold for days and finally talking to customer service for now over 4 hours of my time to now find out my dog's food is not available, which Petco failed to notify me of. Corin said she would refund my purchase and offered to send me a $15 voucher. I said that is the current online discount that I would get if I bought the food today, which I believe is an unacceptable offer in this situation to make things right. I declined.
Petco, I have been a loyal customer for years and looked forward to shopping in your stores and online. I am deeply disappointed that you did not let me know my product was out of stock, charged my card, sent me an email saying my product was on the way, and made me wait 10 days, 4.5 hours of my time on the phone just to be told sorry, it is out of stock but here is $15. Petco, you have lost me as a customer. Please share this review.

I called the number given today, Monday, April 8, and was told they had not received authorization from my Vet. I called the Vet, they had faxed the authorization several days ago. They called the pharmacy and they said they had the authorization and were filling the order. I called the pharmacy number and was told that they were working on the order.
They gave me a number to call to get a tracking number. It was the same number that I called in the first place. The person I talked to was totally worthless, just like the first time. He then refused to sell the fish because I celebrated Persian new year. Hold up, did I say I was Persian, also how ignorant and stupid are the Petco staff to think Palestine and Iran are the same country.
Then when you think it couldn't get any worst, he said, "I cannot sell to you people". ARE YOU KIDDING ME PETCO?! What does my race have anything to do with a fish. I like many others used to use Foster and Smith as my online pet pharmacy; they were wonderful, never had any issues. On March 25, 2019 I placed two orders for my dogs on Petco one for NexGard and one for **. My 13 year old boy has bad hip issues and arthritis so I always order the ** early to make sure he has it. A week goes by and I see on their website that the ** is still in progress and that the NexGard has shipped. I thought that was odd so I contacted Petco thru live chat since you never can get a twine on the phone there and I was told that they were waiting on a response from my vet. What? How come the other med, which I ordered on the same day is approved but this one is not?
So anyways I contacted the vet and they told me that the faxed back both scripts on March 27. The girl even said that she would resend the script for the ** so that they made sure that Petco had it. That was yesterday April 3. So today it still shows in progress online and I spoke with another live chat person. I was told what I already knew, that it was still in progress and that the vet had not sent in the other script. I said yes they did and they did before. The girl told me that she may not see it but their pharmacy probably has it and hasn’t updated their system yet. Well is it normal for them to hold onto a script for a week and a half and not do anything with it? I told her to just cancel the order and she said that it would automatically cancel in 14 days without a response from the vet.
I don’t understand how they decided to fill a preventative and just neglect a pain management med that my dog needs and was without for a couple days because of their terrible system. Luckily I spoke with my vet and they Filled it did me. Next time I will use Chewy which is where I get all of my other stuff from and never have this issue. I was extremely upset. Oh by the way, it’s April 4 and the tracking for the NexGard has not even reached my post office. So now my other dog will be without this for 2 days.

I had a bottle in my hand showing my remaining available tabs but all that information wasn't available in the new Petco System. My dog needs these antibiotics daily to prevent aspiration lung disease (a throat injury as a puppy).
Now for the most disturbing part of this call, they had NO refill information but they sure as heck had my credit card information. That's the most important data they secured - payment but nothing for the patent. If you want to hear the message every time you call that they are having higher than normal call volume and then be on hold for 40 minutes, this is the place for you. Seriously, every day, any time of the day, this is what happens when you call. You can then have people make up stories to cover their mistakes, which also makes them look incredibly reliable and customer service oriented.
They could not get their tracking info on my orders correctly or get them delivered on the dates they said they would. One order said it was waiting for UPS to pick up for three days. Clearly, it was lost but when I called they said this is normal. I'm pretty sure with a large company UPS comes by 2 to 3 times a day at least, so waiting for 3 days is completely unreasonable. The next one they said it was out for delivery then said it wasn't being delivered until the next day. When I called, they said it went to their warehouse, and that is how it works for sending out orders. This has not happened on my other orders, so this doesn't really seem to be true. Also their warehouse wasn't the address for delivery, so it didn't make any sense. Again, an unreasonable statement. The next day, the delivery status said -delivery delayed-showing clearly that their excuse was a totally made up story. It has been the most ridiculous experience.

Once the pet retailer confirms a pet’s prescription with its veterinarian, the medication is shipped to the pet owner’s door within 24 to 48 hours. Petco’s online pharmacy service also offers a price-match guarantee, and ordering can be done through the retailer’s website or app."

My dog takes daily heart meds and we filled through Doctors, Foster, and Smith. We received emails when they merged with Petco that Rx's would transfer to Petco. My vet had called/faxed a script to Doctors, Foster, and Smith in January with refills. We needed more this week so I did an online chat with Petco and was advised as long as she had refills, and I ordered the meds, that they would be sent out. I ordered them and even signed up for monthly, repeat orders and I was charged for them but I noticed tonight that the order is still pending. I just completed a 2nd online chat with Petco and was told this time that even though they have the script with refills from DF&S, Petco had to send a fax to my vet and they are waiting for approval. What? So now she is out of her heart meds so I will be getting elsewhere. Very sad. We were always impressed with Doctors, Foster, and Smith.

I was a long time Drs. Foster and Smith customer for my elderly lab who takes multiple medications daily. When I first ordered from Petco after they merged with F&S, I was told that my Rx had to be re-authorized. I found it odd, but went with it. I was told by Petco customer service that my vet hadn't faxed in the authorization, thus the delay I was encountering. In checking with my vet, I was assured (and have no reason not to believe) that my vet had done their part. It took virtually a week for the order to get filled and shipped - with no fault by my vet. I had to get an emergency refill through the vet to get by until Petco decided to ship the order. During one of many calls to Petco I asked that all meds in our file be pre-authorized to avoid this in the future. Clealy, that didn't happen.
Now I'm on my 2nd order with Petco and it's worse. They are again blaming my vet. It has been a week ago today that I placed the order and it hasn't shipped. I had to get more emergency pills from the vet for this med as well so we don't run out. They have debited my account, released the hold on my funds and again debited for the order without sending the order. Tomorrow I will call my bank and not allow any transactions with Petco. That won't be a problem for me as I will not be shopping in any of their stores. GUARANTEED!!! I will be ordering elsewhere from now on. It's simply not worth the BS that you will have to encounter. It's outrageous!

The manager says he won't honor his pet agreement and no one called me back at all when I tried to confront them about it. They costed me 500 dollars for a vet bill and charged me 200 dollars for a ferret that died. Once again my vet verified it and I only wish I had enough resources to press further justice for Frodo. So when I was told they no longer handled pet prescriptions and that Petco had bought them I gave it a go. I also never received any communication regarding my pets order. I had one refill of 90 pills left but that somehow got lost!! I quickly called my Vet who told me they received the request from Petco and that they had already faxed it over. Here we are, 1 week later and NO COMMUNICATION from Petco on whether or not my order has shipped!! Petco's order page says "Still in Progress". Come on people it's been over a week!!
I've called PETCO and was on hold for 1/2 hour... Really?! Someone overseas finally picked up. They told me they were waiting on my Vet to fax over the approval. I told them my Vet had already done that and when are my meds being shipped?? She couldnt tell me. I will NEVER use this place again. IF these meds dont ship out early next week, I'm cancelling my order. What a disappointment. Petco really needs to get their act together on this one.

Do not order from Petco! I ordered Bravecto for my dog, online, selecting the correct size for my dog. Got a call from my vet telling me the order was for incorrect weight. Called Petco, talked to someone who barely speaks English, cancelled the order and reordered. Days later got an email saying the second order was cancelled, the reason being that it would expire before I could use it all. Called Petco again, and was told that my vet denied the order. Cancelled that order and placed an order for a lesser amount.
After a week hearing nothing about my order, call my vet to see if order was approved, only to find out that it wasn’t even sent to the vet... and that the vet had approved the previous (larger) order! Call Petco and wait 25 minutes for an English speaking manager, who tells me that their supplier has shorter expiration dates meds, with no explanation as to why I was told (lied to) that my vet did not approve the order. I was also told by said manager NOT to call my credit card company about the charges... I did call, and was informed that Petco has charged me 4 times, with almost immediate chargebacks in the last 3 weeks... very shady... Don’t order anything from Petco... ever!! For the past 3 years I used Dr. Smith and Foster for my kitty’s medications and had no problems what so ever. I went online to order refills and was surprised to see that PetCo bought S&F out, so I ordered medications for my kitty from them. Sadly, my kitty no longer needs medications so I called to cancel the order. I had an unbelievable catch 22 conversation with "Martin" (I don't believe he resides in the contiguous 48!). I was told that the order could not be canceled regardless of the reason and then he informed me out of the other side of his mouth that the Vet has not yet responded to their request. They can't send the meds out without an approval so the order hasn't even been filled... Still they can't cancel? No they can't!! "Martin", was obviously reading from a script because the next thing he said was that the vet has 14 days to approve. WHAT???
I explained AGAIN that the Vet will not approve and why. Still No! I followed up by telling him that THEY already got paid for the order... not only did PayPal debit my account, but they also paid them for the order... He denied that they'd been paid- he claimed it was a hold... not according to PayPal! I asked to speak to a supervisor... After a brief hold I was told that there wasn't a supervisor available to speak to me. Really, why was I not surprised!!! I filed a claim with PayPal. I'm hoping to get my money back!!!

I think the customer service at PETCO is fantastic! When my Newfoundland was in terrible pain from arthritis, we tried everything to help him. Our vet tried one medication after another, along with supplements. The poor dog was still in pain, and only 5 years old. We thought we'd have to put him to sleep, he was so miserable. I was at PETCO picking up dog food, and took a look at the joint supplement aisle. So many choices--so confusing. One of the employees asked if he could help me. I told him about our Newfie, and he went straight to the PETCO brand of Joint Formula III. I thought it was rather pricey, but the alternative was to say goodbye to a young dog.
That employee saved my dog's life! Our big boy was running and jumping like a puppy after only a week on that supplement. It bought him an additional 7 years, and as long as he had his daily dose of Joint Formula III, he was pain-free. That was several years ago, and PETCO's customer service has never wavered. They just hire really good people.

I provided Petco the right phone number and ask them to call immediately since I need the medicine shortly, they say they would call right away.
I called again on Feb 28, 2019 to find out that no call was made to the vet, I asked for the fax number where the vet can send the information. I order a controlled substance for my dog on a regular basis for her urinary incontinence. I researched and found what I felt was the best price and a very reliable company to order the prescription. This was through Drs. Foster & Smith. For the past year, I have never had any problem. I went to order the medication on Saturday with a week to spare in getting the refill. I was very surprised to find out that the online site took me to the Petco site. I do wish that Drs. Foster & Smith would have communicated, even in an email that there would be changes. I ordered anyway and set up my account. I did not have any problem to start. After I ordered, I received an email that they received my order and would send me an email when it was ready to ship.
I checked daily and got no email. On Wednesday, I received a phone call from my vet saying that they were confused because they got communication that they needed a script because there were no refills left. The vet told me that there should be another month's worth of medication that should still be available to fill. I also watch very closely by writing the number of refills on my calendar so that I do not lose time when I need a new script. I told the vet I would inquire to find out what was going on.
I called Petco and I explained the problem and the person taking my call said that my vet just needed to send another script. I told her it was a controlled substance and there was still pills available to fill. She asked if I wanted to speak with someone in the pharmacy and I agreed. I spoke with Kelly and she looked up the script and told me that the pills could be filled and did not need a new script. She recommended that I continue to watch my emails to see if they shipped, but said that she would not wait too long.
Today, there was still no email to ship. I called Petco and talked to two different girls answering the phone. They could not give me any different information. So I asked to speak with their supervisor. After waiting for the supervisor, the phone call was dropped. I started all over again. I did reach a supervisor. She finally did tell me that since the partnering of the two companies, that they cannot accept the script sent to Drs. Foster & Smith at Petco. I was really fuming when I heard this. I asked, "When were you going to let the customers know this." I told them that this is very poor business.
I inquired as to where I would send the new script to if my vet would even give me one. She continued to tell me that I cannot send them the script. I let her know that my vet does not even like online pharmacies, so does not fax or take any responsibility with getting scripts to online pharmacies other their own. She told me that I could not mail it to them or fax it to them. They would accept a fax from the vet. She had no suggestions for me.
I hung up and spoke with my vet. They were not willing to fax the script to the online pharmacy at Petco. I chose due to a terrible experience to not return to Petco. I have signed on with the vet's online pharmacy, so that I can get courteous and great communication. I am very sad to see Drs. Foster & Smith disappear. I have a coworker that has her dog on the same medication and enrolled. I was very quick to contact her and let her know of my very bad experience. This has been the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I don't blame the representatives. They are clearly given scripted empathy and the authority to access and resolve nothing. I tried to fill a prescription refill originally ordered through Drs. Foster and Smith who not only had great pricing, but outstanding customer service. There was no way to tell when I placed the order that I had five refills available. I called the next day to verify that this would be filled off of my five refills through Drs Foster and Smith. The customer service rep scripted me for half an hour gave me nothing and added irrelevance. I was assured at the end of our useless and maddening conversation that a supervisor would call me back. That never happened.
I then decided, against my better judgement, to use online chat. When I explained I had placed my order originally with Foster and Smith and was looking to see if they had my refill info he asked me why I didn't call Foster and Smith. I typed back "You are Foster and Smith now." The line went quiet and I never heard anything else. I then got the bright idea to call Foster and Smith from the number on my original packing slip. They were so helpful. They were able to look up my original order and tell me yes indeed, I did have five refills and it should just be refilled. They told me the information was sent over to Express Scripts, the company Petco now uses.
Later that day, I got a call from some random vet in my area telling me Express Scripts sent them over a verification and they weren't sure who I was. I told them to ignore it and I would call Petco to get it straightened out. I called back Petco and asked why a vet I didn't even know was calling me about a prescription verification, this is a refill order and I entered my vet's information with my order. He took the name of my vet again. I asked him if he could verify that I had refills on file. He said he couldn't and no supervisor was available. I asked if he could call Foster and Smith and Express Scripts to get this straightened out and he hung up on me.
I waited two more days and, just again, contacted customer service. He told me not to worry that they were still within their allotted time frame to fill my order. I asked him to verify that this was a refill order. He told me the status is that they are waiting for vet verification. I asked him which vet, and what about the refill. He gave me the name of my vet's office, the name of a vet I have never heard of and a fax not even in the same area code.
I corrected him and asked him once again to verify the status of my REFILL. He said he could not Someone would have to call me back within 24-48 hours. I had to leave it at If I don't hear back by the end of the day I will have to cancel the order and drive 45 minutes to my dog's specialty vet to pick it up myself. I agree ok as long as I get the 1 it’s fine. Now today I check the status of my order and all 3 are on back order. I call customer service and they say that there is nothing they can do. They are on back order and doesn’t look like they are getting any more. I’ve had it with Petco. They contacted me to say they had it in stock. I would never had ordered it again but they said they had it!!!

I ordered this prescription diet for my sick cat. 9 days later I contact customer support to find out when I can expect delivery. The guy informs me that the prescription diet food I ordered has been placed on back order with no information as to when it would be available. I had received no notice that there was a back order. So basically my sick animal has to suffer because Petco couldn’t be bothered to let me know his prescription food wasn’t available?! Not Happy.

I took my little parker to Petco in Indian Land SC and I will never go back there again. I told the lady when we got there that we live in Massachusetts so we didn't want his haircut too short because of it's cold up here. She said okay that's fine and she would handle it. I get back after four hours and she completely shaved my dog. I hardly even recognized my own dog. She left no hair on his stomach or face and she even cut his ears and made him bleed. I take him home and he's been reverse sneezing and acting different ever since. He's scared to take baths and shakes while I bathe him. Before all this, he used to love taking baths. He's very Lethargic and now I'm going to take him to the vet because I'm worried he's got a cold. Thanks, Petco. Great service.

Parkville MD Petco. This location should be closed. The animal are dirty and not cared for. The fish are died in their tanks. I feel sorry for these poor animals. The ferret's cage is always full of poop. Why doesn't corporate ever come unannounced and check on them. The manager and Marisa are nasty with the customers. Please check on this location or better yet get new people who care.

Petco located in Madison, AL (Hwy 72). Petco and their grooming staff are not good honest people. This is our second bad experience with them and they seem to not care about certain customers. Today, we had an appointment for our two goldendoodles puppies to get groomed. Our appointment was at 8a. We arrived at 7:55. The store was still a little dark so instead of getting the puppies and our kids out of the vehicle to walk to the door, my husband walked up by himself to check to see if they were open. The doors did not open and they had the hours of operation from 9a to close. So I thought to myself maybe I put the wrong time down and it was at 9a.
We drove home and came back to the store at 9a. Automatic doors opened and we went to the grooming department. A young lady advised us that the groomer left after we pulled off. What?! We told them that we were here at 8a but the doors did not open. She advise us that we had to pry the automatic doors open and come on in. Now we are disgusted and upset.
We spoke with the manager and he was basically a yes man. We explained to him that there is nothing on the door telling us to pry open the automatic door during non-operating hours for the salon. We were not told this information. Did they expect my husband (a black man) to basically break into the store? All it would have taken was someone to call the police and my husband could have been in jail or dead. Why? Because there was no information telling people to pry open the automatic doors before the store open hours. Besides, the groomer saw my husband come up to the door and leave. Yet she did not call us to say, "Hey, I just saw you all leave. We are open." She either didn't want to work or she didn't want to serve us. I say that because this is our second incident where grooming has not served us and I am starting to think it's because of the color of our skin.

Felipe needs an attitude check. Rude during checkout. Perhaps he needs to not work in front. Not sure why it's difficult to speak with someone with respect. Plenty of people are able. Seriously Felipe, why be rude?

The worst online experience possible. Absolutely slowest website to be found. Who has an hour to buy a bag of cat food. Try Chewy.com. Much much much better experience. I will never attempt to shop at Petco again. Every time I try it's just a horrible experience.

I bought my nephew a fish, aquarium, and supplies at the Petco in Totowa a few days ago. I brought everything to my parents' house in order to set it up and give it to him for the holidays. After setting up the aquarium, I went to plug it in and realized one of the prongs was missing from the plug. I brought it back to the Clark location (close to my parents' house) but they did not have the aquarium there. I then called customer service to complain since I am not able to get back to Totowa until after Christmas...after it is too late to give my nephew his gift. The representative on the phone, Jay, said there was nothing he could do and that my only option was to take it back to the original store I bought it. I have had much better customer service and have bought much better products at mom and pop shops around the area... Will stick to those instead.
