Company solved issue to my satisfaction. Issue was result of covid, company went above and beyond.

On Jan. 3rd I placed order for a large bag of Purina Pro Plan for my dogs. On Jan 8 I received an email that my order would be late due to high demand. On Jan 10, I received an email that my order was cancelled, no reason given. Yet they still charged my credit card. Will never again order through Petco, will stick to Chewy.com.

Absolutely horrendous experience with Petco. I placed an order of canned cat food in December. Order got canceled. I spent an hour on the phone with a supervisor. I had her place an order for me online to make sure the item was available and the order got through. I waited for another week and found out that was back ordered too. So I bought a different brand and apparently that was back ordered too. It's been 2 weeks and my cat still doesn't have canned food.

It's an incredibly frustrating experience each time talking with Petco trying to resolve the issue. Just got off the phone with Lorna, who repeated herself like a broken record "item was back ordered, no supervisor available, please have the expectation that there's nothing else we can do." I used to be a loyal customer to Petco. This is the first time I've had an issue with my order and this is the kind of treatment I get as a customer. You can be sure this is the last time I'm dealing with Petco.

After trying the different dog foods on the market, we found that Royal Canin Adult dog food was the perfect choice for our 10 yr old Chihuahua Lucy. Thanks to Petco and their wide variety of different brands.

Do NOT bring your dog here for grooming, they will hurt your dog without letting you know about it!!! I have to say this particular Petco store has the worst customer and pet grooming service EVER!!! I made an online appointment for my dog for a full bath and hair cut service on 10/2 and when I went in that day, they said they couldn’t see it on the system, I even showed them my confirmation text message that has the time and date on it, their reply was, "We are too busy today," and send me home. The lady said, "You can come back tomorrow." Well, I don’t have a choice at that time so when went home, what a waste of my time. By the way, every staff at this petco store (coralville, IA) were mean, you can tell none of them really love animals and they all seems like they hated their job.

Anyway, I showed up the next day and gave my dog to them for the grooming service. When everything is done, when I ready to pay at the check out, the person even asked me for tips. Wow, that’s professional!!! I asked the groomer is everything ok? She said yea, everything is good. When I took my dog home, I realized there’s a huge deep cut right at her stomach and she is bleeding badly. I was so piss and I couldn’t believe they didn’t say anything. When I called the store, no one answer the phone and I don’t even have the option to leave a message. So, I called their hotline and they said their manager will give me a call back tomorrow morning because there is nothing that they can do now!! Anyway, pictures speak louder than words, you guys just take a look at those pictures. This is horrible, my dog is just an imperial Shih tzu which only weighs 5 pounds and now she is still bleeding and in a lot of pain!!! Do not bring your dog here, they don’t care about your dog.

I placed an order for puppy food and puppy training pads on September 8 at 12:27 pm for same-day delivery. I received an email at 3:55 pm stating the order is on the way. At 5:15 pm I received an email stating my order was canceled. I contacted customer service to see why my order was canceled, the customer service rep said the order was canceled because of technical difficulties. I asked to speak to a supervisor to see if the order could be replaced because I had the COVID-19 virus and was unable to go to the store to pick items up. The rep refused to let me speak to a supervisor. She stated the order had already been canceled and I would receive a refund in 2-3 business days.

On September 14, 2021, I still have not received my refund. I call customer service back to find out the order status was still out for delivery 6 days later and no refund had been processed. Now I'm told I have to wait another 2-3 business days to receive my refund. Horrible same-day delivery service and customer service is just as bad. I will not be doing business with this company again. Petco why do you offer services your company can't do. The hold process was a complete fail.

If you are expecting your order to be delivered same day or next day, as promised on-screen per item and promised again at checkout, you are being duped. Kitty cat was going in for surgery Wed, so placed “next day” order on Tues so we’d have by the time she came home. Not only was order NOT DELIVERED next day, but 3 days later it’s still not here —in fact, it has NOT EVEN SHIPPED YET!!!! Four days later and my items are still sitting in the warehouse. To top it off Petco is REFUSING TO CANCEL THE ORDER, telling me I can take it all to a store near me, once they do deliver, to get a refund. No, I can’t… I am disabled with a 5lb lifting limit; that is why I buy online and have it delivered. So, I will simply file a dispute with my credit card co so that payment is not released, seeing as how my order has not even shipped yet.

Will now place this same order with AMAZON, knowing I’ll at least receive my order by the date promised. (Only chose Petco as they promised NEXT DAY delivery on those items vs 2-days thru Amazon.) This happened once before with Petco, but it will never happen again; they admittedly have no control over the shipping process. And due to their refusal to help (twice) when order screw-ups were their fault, I will never shop with Petco again. Many other choices out there — many who actually appreciate their customers and honor their commitments.

Petco, Warren Rd., Westland, MI Location! This used to be our go-to place for our furbabies...NOT anymore! Every time we had our dog get a nail trim...it was an okay job and they were always great at fitting us in. With Covid19 it takes forever to get into the vet for anything, little lone, a nail trim...so Petco worked in a pinch. The reason it was an okay job was because after the nail trim there was an unfinished stray piece of hangnail or sharp edges left behind or and nails uneven. It was frustrating but after a walk or two the nails filed down. I decided this last time to ask for a trim plus the file to prevent this problem. BIG MISTAKE! The result was much worse!

We felt terrible as we trusted Petco and had lots of errands to run...we drove around with our furbaby in the back seat noticing him licking a paw then pulled over to find blood all over our back seat!!! I called Petco (we were already driving right back there) and reported our poor furbaby was bleeding from the quick! I let them know we were heading back so they could see and apply a powder to stop the bleeding. When I entered they ignored us and after a few minutes acknowledged us saying..."be with ya in a minute."

To which I replied, "He's bleeding and I just spoke to you...he needs help!" After another few minutes, she called another groomer to the counter..."Ya wanna take care of this?" Our furbaby was petrified! The groomer tending to the wound blamed it all on our furbaby saying, "He's a puller! That's why this happened!" Furious, I explained we've been bringing our furbabies here over the last 2 decades and NEVER had this happen with a nail trim...however, we never had the upgraded ($5 more) nail service before! SO BEYOND UPSET!!!! NEVER EVER WILL BE BACK and We will follow up with Petco's Corporate Office and the BBB!

The title pretty much sums it up, as a pet store Petco is the worst possible option. The employees rarely have even a basic level of knowledge of animal caretaking needs, and the animals in the store are kept in terrible conditions. They are also bad about where they get their animals. Some of the things that they are known to do:

-Inject glass fish with dyes to make them more colorful (this usually kills them a few weeks after you buy them).
-Keeping reptiles in improper conditions that result in sickness/death.
-Importing wild caught animals that are sickly and ill suited to being pets.

-The mammals such as the puppies are often sourced from puppy mills (or equivalent), horrible facilities with incredibly high death rates.

If you want a pet, do not get them from petco, supporting them only leads to them continuing to abuse animals. I would suggest instead finding a smaller local pet store, or smalltime breeder. They are one of the worst companies around, and unless customers stop buying from them they won't bother to stop mistreating/killing animals.

I put an order at Petco.com and after I hit submit button, I realized that I send it to my old address. I immediately contacted a representative through the chat and was told that they can't do anything about that. They can't change the shipping address nor they can cancel the order. I called the 888 phone number and was told to wait when the order ships and then call them back so that they can try and "catch the package with the carrier and send it to the warehouse". WHAT???? It is absolutely ridiculous and I will never be back to Petco, online or physical store. There are better places to shop for your furry friends.

Paid for dog training and got product and nutritional information. Why is the dog not being trained? If I wanted product and food facts I'd ask a sales person to do their job and ask for help. I was paying Cheri to train my dog and do her job.

PetCo advertised online at one price, says you can buy online or order at the store, and then, when you get to the store it's a higher price. Item I bought (dog ear med) cost $9.99 online and I was told it was available at the PetCo I go to. When I went to the store to pick up, it was $17.99. Gave me a bunch of baloney about stores not having to give you the website cost etc. Items in PetCo stores are routinely overpriced in the first place. Boycott Petco. And don't believe the bull about how much they care for your pet---they care only for high profits.

My experience the several times going into Petco has been the best working with Gary (cashier). He is a kind soul and a ray of sunshine. He makes my day as I shop for items for my puppy. Very helpful and pleasant to speak to. I hope Gary works here forever and gets a BIG raise! The grooming department can use some improvement with time management and communication with their clients on what is available. Also, reaching out to pet owners if something can't be done.

We have been faithful customers of Petco repeat delivery program for over 5 years! For the last 2 months they have chosen to cancel our order in favor of sending our bags of food to new customers. No doubt in hopes of snaring new fools to replace those of us who have wised up about their repugnant marketing strategy. But read more, their quality control is horrible. The smell differs from bag to bag with some having a distinctly rancid odor. And God help you if you try to work with what passes for customer service. They couldn't give you an honest answer if they wanted to, and they don't want to!

Customer services is out of the Phillippines – Coward management in California. Customer service verifies there is no corporate contact, yet corporate employees receive a paycheck – for what? Zero customer care – no follow up with customer concerns. Would not ever admit to working with this so-called company. Seems this company is merely a warehouse, so best of luck with any if any educational assistance. You’ve been warned. However, continue to engage in closing this company.

I have been a regular customer for over 20 years. Well, I was a customer for over 20 years. Two weeks ago I purchased prescription dog food online. At the time of my purchase, items were in stock. After nearly a week, I received an email saying they were having trouble contacting my vet for approval. I emailed a screenshot of my dog's medications with the dog food on the list and I reached out to my vet personally. My vet said that they didn’t receive ANY communication from Petco at all.

When Petco finally did ship my order, they only shipped half of it and needed 10 days to find the other half. I find it unacceptable to wait 3 weeks for an order. I would have ordered it from somewhere else if I knew it would take 3 weeks. Their customer service was less than helpful. Sometimes the same apology Over and over doesn’t in fact make it better. I told them to cancel my order, but of course now I have to go to the store to return the half that shipped this morning. The inconveniences of making calls to the vet, emailing documentation, all the time on the phone with “customer service”, and now returning the half to the store added up. It didn’t have to be this way. They won’t be getting my business anymore.

Needed clear aquarium sealant and checked the Petco website to see if they had it in stock, yes for pickup today. Once there I couldn't find any. Asked for help and the manager pointed to black sealant, said that's all they have and left. Tried to get her to check on the exact item I wanted but she wouldn't. I tried to explain the website shows it is in stock but she said that is online not the store. I showed her the website has it as in store pick up today but she again said that is only if I order it. I asked what if I order now? She said then we would go to the stockroom pick it and email when it is ready. OK but why can't you just go pick it now? She said because they don't have any. If she wasn't so rude about it I would have thought maybe she is playing a joke on me. I left without the sealant. So much for trying to support local stores.

My cat loves to go outdoors. This Harness and Leash makes it easy for both of us to sit on our porch or patio without fear. It took some work to figure out the perfect one for her with the ease of getting on and off her by me. The team at the Frankfort, Kentucky store always has the answers. I trust them and enjoy being helped by a team that makes you feel so welcome. Thank You, Elizabeth, Alison and Motley. You know they say three heads are better than one and I agree. Keep working as a Team and I will always look forward to coming to you for answers. Diana

My cat was prescribed a certain food that Petco carries. While attempting to verify the prescription, I asked my veterinarian why they hadn't responded to the confirmation request. My vet said they would only respond directly to certain sellers and provided me with a written prescription. I contacted Petco via the online chat and was instructed to scan and submit the prescription form and order number to their intake email address (PetcoVetDiets at petco.com) and it would clear the issue (needing a prescription). Fast forward to today when I receive a notice from PetcoVetDiets that my order has been canceled. I guess I'll have to re-order through a supplier my vet supports, or at least pays attention to the emails their customers send. Not Happy! :(

Today I had the worst experience ever with Petco in Vallejo California. I had scheduled a grooming of my dog. At the time of scheduling my appointment I was very clear that the vaccination certificate (in English) was from a Costa Rican vet, but that I also had the label from the vaccine bottle as required to come back into the USA with your pet. I was told, "No worries. We have someone who speaks Spanish" (not that you need someone to speak in Spanish), it’s all dates, lot numbers and the title of manufacturer.

The women who reviewed my documents; first said this is not a Rabies Vaccine, I showed her the label, which matched the Rabies Certificate, then she said she doesn’t read Spanish not that there was anything other than the vet's name in Spanish, plus if you don’t read Spanish then why are you saying there is no Rabies Vaccine? The label clearly says Rabia (ok that’s Spanish) so let’s google it. Then she tells me we don’t accept anything that is hand written.... ok the label is not hand written and Rabies Certificate is not hand written. Listen I get it.... Some people attitude about being in the USA and it being an English speaking country.... but come on the virus is in Latin and it’s the same in any country.

It was clear to me that I was dealing with someone who either woke up in a bad mood, or just doesn’t like Spanish speaking people/documents. She then tells me I needed to have it translated.... so does this mean I can go home and type it out in English not that anyone could not figure it out on their own.... with just a little common sense or I am sorry maybe we can Google the label and see what comes up.... I invite anyone to do this based on the labels (Biocan LR) if you don’t want to I included a picture of what it is from their website which is in English and a European Company. NOPE she was not having it, not going to look up anything and not going to read the labels. Despite all I did in advance I was treated like **.... even the customer behind me was shocked by this.

Soooo I guess this is one of several things.... don’t go there and let them know you speak Spanish, or your documents from another country won’t work despite it being required by the USDA and acceptable to our government or it’s perfectly ok for someone in a bad mood to just be rude and awful.... I plan on calling their corporate office to discuss. This could have been easily fixed and resolved in 3 minutes but her attitude was NO WAY is she going to look anything up.

I placed an order for a prescription, and Pecto repeatedly provided incorrect information. After 4 phone calls, each time getting contradictory information, I finally was able to speak to a "premier team member". I was never allowed to speak to a supervisor. Each call was at least 40 minutes. I will NEVER order again from them. I would advise using another company. If you do have to call customer service, skip the front line person, they are useless, but be prepared for a LONG wait.

I ordered antibiotics for my cat & paid $20 for 2 day shipping but didn't receive the order for 6 days. They don't tell you that they allow themselves a 48 hour processing period & weekends aren't included in shipping days. Customer service is outsourced. Some of the people speak ok English. Some don't & have no clue how to do their job.

I called to see what was taking so long & was put on hold repeatedly & for so long they were forcing me to hang up. I was finally offered a refund for the shipping but I never received the refund & when I called back there was no record of that conversation. They'll say whatever they think you want to hear & take your money with no guarantee of getting what you pay for & you can't DO anything about it. Very unethical. Very unreliable. Shop elsewhere.

DOCUMENTING: Petco on HK Dodgen/ Loop 363 Temple, TX. January 30, 2021. 2:30pm. Grooming Dept. I took my two Chihuahuas to have nail trims. A client with big dog that had just been groomed was exiting. That dog's fur was all over the floor and the one main gurney. Three young women are working the grooming area. The one sitting at the computer check-in counter asked for my phone number to look up my account. I gave it but said, "I'm not sure I'm going to do this today--a nail trim. Are you all going to clean up all that fur, at least clean it off the gurney?" She said, "Oh, yes. We will clean it up." (They never did while I was having nails trimmed on my two small dogs. The entire floor area and that main gurney remained dirty with much fur debris.)

A young woman with yellow-blonde hair came from behind the counter to the tiny ante-room area and asked, "Which one first?" I asked if we could do my 9-year-old Chihuahua first because the longer he has to wait at a vet clinic or grooming place, his blood pressure shoots up, and the whites of his eyes turn red. I also said that the last time I had brought him in, even though it may be against protocol, I was allowed to hold him with all 4 legs facing the groomer, and that made it easier on him while having his nails clipped. I asked if they would allow me to do that again. No response from any of the three employees.

The young woman (with yellow-blonde hair) took my older dog's left hind leg and started with the outermost nail. My little dog gave a long scream of pain and struggled to get away from the woman, who had let go of his leg. I asked her what happened. No response. After I had given him a few seconds of a breather, I said to this employee, "Okay, let's try it again." After she finished each leg, I said, "Let's give him a few seconds to breathe and re-calm himself." But then, I noticed fresh blood on my left hand. I showed the employee and asked what had caused that. No response. Blank facial expression. Then, I noticed blood up and down my left long sleeve. I showed her and said that he must be bleeding. I asked her to help me look at his feet. No response, verbal or action, on her part.

I told her more emphatically, "Help me find where he's bleeding." As I tried to spread his toes apart, she did finally look more closely with me. The blood was between two nails and toe-pads. Wordlessly, she went to get the yellow powder to apply to stop the bleeding. I asked her what happened. No response. I asked again, immediately, "Did you slip the clipper underneath that particular nail and maybe, accidentally, cut some of his pad?" She finally spoke: "That nail was embedded in the pad." Incredulous that would have been the case, since I had last brought him in for a nail trim in either late November or early December (and knowing that I would NEVER let my dogs's nails get so long as to become embedded in their pads), I said, "What?!" She repeated her statement.

Meanwhile, more incredulously of me, I handed over my 2-year-old Chihuahua and picked up my paperwork to go out into the store to pay my $21.65 bill. I had my older dog with me. Writing my check, I told the clerk that I was shaking badly, showed her all the blood on my long sleeve, was upset, and wanted to speak with a manager.

The clerk called another woman to speak with me. We moved to the back of the store where she gave me a chair to sit. I told of what had just transpired. I told her that the blonde employee stayed mostly silent and unresponsive to me, giving me passive blank looks. I said, "Maybe she didn't verbalize anything with me for fear of a lawsuit." I assured that would not be my intent.

The woman said, "Yes, we do have liability issues." This woman kept repeating that since she wasn't present, she's not sure of what happened. I asked her if she would please go get my other dog so that I, with my older dog, would not have to go back in there to the grooming area. She left to go do that, saying also that she needed to talk with them about what had happened.

She returns without my other little dog. I ask where is my younger dog. This woman says she's fine, someone will be bringing her out to me. Then, she says they don't want me to bring my dogs back here for nail trims and that they request that I take my dogs only to a vet for nail trims...take them somewhere "official" so that if something happens, the dogs can be treated there.

I said, "So you are asking me not to come back? ...well, I wasn't planning on ever bringing them here again. What did the blonde woman tell you happened?" This woman said, "She just cut the nerve because the nail was long and thus, the nerve had grown longer." I replied, "Well, she's giving now a different explanation. The one she gave me is of a more serious nature because it would mean that I have been so negligent as to have allowed one or more nails to become embedded in the dog's pads."

Then, I told her I wanted to give an additional customer comment, feedback, about how filthy with fur debris the grooming area is. I said that earlier I had asked if at least the gurney would be cleaned, was told yes, but they didn't clean it. I asked this woman, "Shouldn't a gurney at least be cleaned before setting a new dog up on it?"

This woman told me that she didn't know; she asked a nearby female employee who said 'yes.' I then asked the woman with whom I had been speaking, "Wouldn't you know that, as the manager?" She answered, "Yes, they are supposed to clean between each pet." I asked, "What position are you? What is your position, your job title?" She told me something about 'merchandise services.' I said, "Well, I had asked to speak with a manager. How may I do that?" She told me his name is Scott and that he wouldn't be in the store until mid-week."

As I'm leaving, the young woman at the cash register tells me cheerily, "Have a nice day!" I showed her my bloody sleeve again and said, "Not so nice, do you think? And now, I've been asked not to bring my dogs in here again to the grooming area--as if I would have even considered doing that after my dog screamed in pain, was bleeding, and I got no 'I'm sorry' or anything resembling an apology."

To be clear, my little dogs have had to suffer occasionally a nerve being cut and therefore, bleeding. That, unfortunately, can happen even with a conscientious and kind and gentle groomer who trims pet nails. My major complaints today are about everything else...no verbal or non-verbal responses when I spoke to or asked questions of the groomer; no responses from the other two women working in that area; unattended fur debris on the floor and gurney with no effort to clean up the mess before putting either of my dogs on the gurney; telling me a nail was embedded in the pad and giving a different explanation later; no kind attitude shown toward my older dog after the incident; nothing resembling being sorry for the incident from either the three grooming-area employees or from the so-called supervisor.

Placed an online order. Went to return it in the store. Currently they are not accepting returns under the umbrella of COVID. I am all for keeping the public and employees safe. I asked about a free return label. In store and on the phone I am told they are offering it. When I called to process the return today, I have spent 90 minutes on the phone, have been disconnected 5 times and denied access to a supervisor. They tell me this is not the case so I should just hold the products until they accept in store returns. In the meantime, I have products that are of no use to me and they have my PALS rewards and my money. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Even worse, I posted this on their Facebook page and while the response was prompt I am simply told what the script they read from dictates...Hold the product until the in store ban is lifted. What is wrong with this picture?! While Petco may be where the pets go, the point corporate is missing is that the pets don't take themselves there and discounting the value of the owners results in lost revenue.

I went to the Greeley Colorado store yesterday with my husband to get supplies for our animals. We were in the store for a good hour and our basket full of stuff. We was helped by the girl in aquatics and one of the salon ladies. I was rudely approached by Darin that I needed to leave the store because I had no mask on. I tried to explain to him that I cannot wear the mask cause of my medical condition and it restricts my breathing. He would not listen to me and pretty much told me to leave rudely.

There was other customers in the store that had no masks on and he did not address them. Not only that the two employees who were very nice DID NOT tell me to put on a mask. He rudely pulled the aquatics girl to the side a jumped on her for not kicking me out for not wearing a mask. Again there was other customers with NO MASKS in the store and he did not address them. The managers in this store are very rude and unprofessional. They get no stars!!!! This store needs help and better management.

I took my dog (labradoodle) for a grooming appointment in Clark, NJ. Unfortunately, I had forgotten the name of the previous groomer so I selected any stylist and got Xio. This was the worst mistake I made. This individual had a terrible attitude from the beginning and dismissed my requests of a 5f for the body and the face to be shaped roux. Also, my dog who is usually friendly and loves getting groomed & baths was scared of her. When we picked him up, my dog had a 7f in the body, his face was completely shaved and she cut him inside the ear. I do not recommend this groomer, she is Is not patient or professional. Her intentions are not the best with the dogs and my dog is now afraid of even getting brushed! She is evil.

I had autoship set up for my kitten. On 12/20/2020 - funds were taken from my bank. This indicated that it had shipped. It had not shipped. It had not shipped 3 days later when checked. It's on a perpetual "pending" but monies have been taken. I called today to cancel the shipment and to cancel autoship. I was told that I CAN NOT cancel even though it has never shipped. Now, I have to wait when/if I ever get this phantom shipment. Then I have to return the shipment. Eventually, I will get a refund. This will take a very long time and is very unfair to the consumer. I am disgusted by this behavior. This is deceptive trade practices. They are hoping that I will get exhausted and disappear. I will not. I am very disappointed and angry with Petco. I work with rescues, I will make sure to tell everyone I can about Petco's deceptive business practices.

Petco runs these great specials but it's hard to take advantage of them when they are ALWAYS out of stock or so low on stock you cannot order online for pickup. I have been trying for over a month now to order Applaws 5.5oz cans, different varieties, and it's NEVER in stock. And this is a recurring problem. It's so frustrating to not be able to take advantage of the specials and discounts considering I feed > 30 cats. I have had to resort to Petsmart for what I need, paying higher prices. I just can't count on Petco anymore. I've been a customer of theirs for well over 10 years!

I purchased an item and the item was never delivered. I have made six phone calls, spoken with six different supervisors, been assured by all of them that my refund was in process; and yet here I am on hold once again going on an hour still no refund still not resolved. This is been going on for almost 2 months. Never ever ever will I shop at this store again. They have my money they have the merchandise I have nothing. They say over and over again this is how our process works. It’s a great process. They don’t have to give up any inventory and they get your money. Stay away.

I gave up another well known company when I found Petco and, I'm glad I did. The staff as well as the managers are extremely polite, nice and very helpful. They take the time 2 answer your questions and are never too busy to explain to you the nature of your question. They don't rush you. Vicki, Athena, Maureen, Nicki, Gabby, Carley, and Emily as well as ones I may not have mentioned, have the best personalities and are great at their job. They know the answers to your questions as well as giving you more info along with it. Petco in Brooklawn is a terrific store with a staff that knows what you as well as your pet needs. A very clean environment, and well managed store with a knowledgeable staff. Great prices great staff, couldn't ask for better!!!!

Online order placed 12/02/20 for treats, supplements & prescription food. Same items ordered in August w/ minimal problems. All items showed as in stock, payment was accepted, & delivery dates were provided. Emails arrived from Petco and Paypal confirming purchase. Then, nothing. Email received on 12/05 with all items now "pending." Called customer support. 1st agent disconnected me while looking up order. 2nd agent gave song & dance about ALL items being backordered, Petco having difficulty getting dog food shipments, & offered to cancel order. That's BS, IMHO. No reputable retailer is that incompetent with their supply chain & customer communications. Perhaps Petco is trying to inflate their sales #s prior to filing an IPO? Customer retention is going to plummet!

Petco refuses to price match PetSmart despite this stated policy: "We're committed to providing the highest quality products at the best prices. If you find a lower price for an identical item at any competitor's store, we'll gladly match it." Consumer fraud? Yep, pretty much. Instead, it's full of loopholes. Congrats, PetCo, you lost me for life because you can't be truthful with the customers like me.

PETCO What an amazing company. I have shopped at PetCo for many years at many locations and always found the employees very helpful and pleasant. My most recent interaction was beyond good customer service. I sent PetCo an email letting them know my pet had died and could they please remove me from their mailing list as it made me sad every time they sent me a new advertisement.

First they sent me this nice note back: "We are so sorry to hear about your loss, and our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. We completed your unsubscribe request, and you will stop receiving all non-transactional emails within 48 – 72 hours. We apologize for any inconvenience the email caused. Thank you again for being part of the Petco family and giving us the opportunity to address your request." Then they sent me flowers! Unbelievably kind and thoughtful from such a large company.

I attempted to place an order on petco.com for store pick up. All of the items that I selected were listed as available while I was shopping but when I went to check out I received an error message stating that my items exceeded the store inventory. For over an hour I tried unsuccessfully to rearrange the amounts to allow me to complete the transaction so I decided to call customer service for help.

The first rep I spoke to was unable or unwilling to investigate the true amounts of the store inventory so that I could complete my order so I asked to speak to a manager. I was placed on hold for over 15 minutes and during that time I tried yet again to alter the quantities of my items and realized that he had locked me out of my account.

I hung up and dialed again, hoping to speak to a different agent. When I was connected I asked to speak directly to a manager. The rep was dismissive and refused to connect me to her supervisor stating that there was no manager on site. I found that odd since I had been placed on hold for so long just moments prior to calling back. The whole experience was appalling and they did absolutely nothing to resolve my issue. I will not be shopping on their website anymore. I would give petco.com zero stars if I could.

An employee refused to sell me an inch long feeder gold fish because she felt the size of my fish tank would not be ethically appropriate once the fish had grown larger. I was also told that I would need to prove that I was putting the fish in a tank that the employees deemed to be ethically safe for the 20 cent feeder fish's long term well-being. The long term promise to size up the tank with the fish's needs was also not a valid form of proof.

I was not offered an application of adoption for this feeder fish with a spot for a signature and my address or a background check, so I'm not entirely sure how they gauge proof of my ability to care for a feeder fish. I feel as though this employee refused to do business because she didn't like me as there is no actual process for fish adoptions or legal process to verify that my home is safe enough to house an inch long feeder fish or that I had the resources to continue appropriate care long term. I don't believe a credible business would let employees refuse to sell its products at their own discretion based on personal opinions or belief systems so I am insulted and confused. I will not be supporting this business any longer.

Petco tries to be in competition with Chewy. So they say when you are viewing the website for pet food that you will receive your order within 2-3 days. Order placed on 9/27/20. Hit submit. Then it says 3 to 5 days. Confirmation email said I would get it on 10/2/20. Now Petco says it is out for delivery today 10/2/20 but tracking says maybe 10/5/20. This is my second and last experience with PETCO. Even the stores. To me this is a dishonest company. My pet deserves better. Tidbit. First order we refused since it was 2 weeks late for a dog ramp.

I received a 100.00 gift card via email, I used part of it by ordering over the phone. I had around 20.00 balance. I tried to order today and now I have 0 balance. The phone rep said I had to go to the store to see who spent the balance. I haven't been in that store in months, since I never had a physical card, it's not like I left it somewhere. I'll never shop in any Petco again. I only did because I had the gift card.

Somehow I got charged online for 2 bags of dog food that was in process to be shipped to me. I only have 1 dog So I called them to say I can’t use all that dog food. They can’t stop the delivery so I had to pay and now wait to receive 60 lbs of dog food for one dog. Don’t ever order online from Petco because they have a repeat delivery that is checked off and that’s how this all happened. I will never shop with them again!!!

I always shopped at PetSmart and I recently switched over to Petco when I was shopping online for cat products and noticed their amazing prices! They have great deals and sales, as well as a loyalty program that is very easy to use and keep track of. They have amazing customer service representatives who are always friendly, polite, and cheerful! They are quick to answer the phone as well. Recently, I placed a pickup in store order for something at Petco. Unfortunately, they cancelled my pickup in store order because the product was out of stock but they then emailed me and offered to ship the product to me for free, with an additional discount! So I ended up getting my product shipped to me for even cheaper than I was expecting with in store pickup. Great experience!

If you buy online please make sure prices are the same when you choose them and in the receipt, as they do change them and you end up paying more than you thought, customer service won't admit this, I talked to a representative and she first told to just rest assured, they didn't overcharge me, ok so we just have to trust them. I went on to point out where the overcharge was and she didn't seem to know basic math. In the end she just took out the discount I received and voila.

I asked why did she do that and she said it didn't apply to a particular item I bought, I told her to please look at the receipt she had just send to me through email, the discount was there for that particular item. At this point she was just making up stuff, I got so frustrated I just stopped the conversation. Not to mention I ordered frozen mice and they arrived without ice so they were all thawing when I opened the box, even though it didn't sit outside at all I grabbed it as soon as it arrived.

The dog bed/crate mat I received is shorter and less wide than was listed in the online description. The information about returns/exchanges that is on the website is a mish-mash of a write-up that seems intended to confuse customers. I am expected to pay return shipping - for a $6 item it's not worth my time. The closest store is 44 miles away in Janesville so a store return is not worth my time either. The toys I received through an online purchase are fine. The online and phone customer service are so sub-standard, especially compared to the experiences I have had returning items to CHEWY.com and PetSmart online, I will never waste my time with PetCo again.

I had a positive experience in the Orem store last Christmas. I am now high risk COVID-19 senior so I ordered online nail clippers for my tiny dog. When they came they are too big for her tiny toenails and it would not work. I called to return them and was told I had to take them to a store, they would not pick up. Then after 20 + minutes the CS person came back and said she got approval for them to be picked up because of my circumstances.

She specifically told me they would be picked up on Monday. They have still not been picked up at 5 on Tuesday so I called back. I was told after waiting on the phone for 30 minutes, the first girl lied to me and she did not get approval and they would not pick them up. Stick with AMAZON for online purchases. They pick up at your door if you have to return something. These clippers were not designed for such tiny dogs, she is 5 pounds. They might work for bigger ones but don't take the chance unless you can deal with no customer service or can take it back to a store. I am out almost $30 for something I can't return and can't use.

I ordered HomeoPet worm clear medicine from them & paid extra for next day because at check out it gave me the delivery date of Tuesday but it had the option of paying a little extra for next day instead of waiting for delivery on Tuesday, so the extra fee for next day so that I could get it on Monday (today). I got my confirmation email & says delivery for the original day of Tuesday. So I called customer service/support & explained my problem & asked for a refund of just the amount that I paid extra for next day delivery. Petco.com customer service would not help me & would not listen to me & refused to give me a refund on the amount that I paid extra. They double talked me & over talked me & refused to listen to anything that I had to say.

They are kinda rude & have no compassion or customer skills & really don't care about their customers at all. They just want the money that they can steal & gouge out of their customers. They are even rude in the store locations too. Customers don't matter to Petco.com or Petco stores. This company just want to line their pockets with the money that they steal by not refunding or making things right with their customers. I have never had any issues with PetSmart at any time. They treat their customers like we are known by them & they have always made things right with me so far.

I don't recommend Petco.com or Petco stores. All I asked for was a refund on an over payment for a product that was not going to be received next day like I paid for but is coming on the day that was the original day of delivery on the website for my order. So I am paying over the cost of what the product would be because they refuse to make this right & refund the extra $. My product was only going to be $ 11.79 but the next day fee made it way higher. The $ 11.79 is including the shipping without the next day delivery fee if I got it on the original day of Tuesday which is when it will still be coming by the way, but I saw they offered next day so I paid for that next day delivery. The next day delivery fee was over $14.00 & I'm not even getting my order next day like I paid for. Don't patron this company or business. They will cheat you & not make it right. You are nothing to them.

I have had nothing but problem with Petco online services when it comes to ordering the needed meds for my dog. Their auto reorder had issues when my CC expired and they could not advise only recommend that I cancel and restart the order. This creates a new process when coming to drugs that require vet approval. A new Script even when you have numerous refills on file with the old script. When you call Customer Support since they are not in the US they do not understand what you are claiming and thus only know how to read a script. In the end they attempted to charge me almost double what they quoted me for the simply refill. I still do not know if I will get them in a timely manner or what, but I do know I need to go to my local vet and pay for a refill to be safe. Sometimes saving money is not worth the headaches is the lesson I learned here. I will not be using Petco for anything based on this experience.

Recently we relocated from Florida to Rochester, NH. I made an appointment for our Poodle to be groomed. I was assured they knew how to do a standard Poodle cut. NOT! I was in shock and awe when I picked him up, WHAT A HOT MESS. Suffice it to say they do not know how to groom a Poodle. I will NEVER shop at this store again. Never. And there is some type of growth forming now on his nose since that day. It is obvious these people are not trained in anything except how to lie to you. If you don't know what a standard poodle cut is, at the very least have the honesty, decency and integrity to state that to your customer.

My husband placed an online order May 25th for dog food and a mistake was made due to a glitch on the website and the wrong dog food was ordered so my husband called immediately to have them fix it. The rep wouldn't help me saying it was too late. The order already went to the shipping department and they couldn't do anything about it. My hubby asked for the manager and they escalated the call and he spoke to Lisa who pretty much said the same thing and also said she could cancel the order but it's not a guarantee it would be stopped and couldn't guarantee a refund. She offered no solutions and basically told us it's too late when we called no more than 5 mins after the original order was made.

I was angry at her poor customer service and shinning on my husband and said there's nothing they can do so I called and had them escalate the call and spoke with Phoenix and she said almost the same thing but suggested a few options on how we can fix it and offered a free bag of food for the inconvenience. I let her know my husband was on the phone with Lisa trying to get help. Phoenix spoke with Lisa and told her to adjust the order to the correct bag of food and NOT cancel the order and to send us a free bag for free for the inconvenience. My hubby continued the call with Lisa and I ended my call with the other rep now that the order was supposed to be fixed.

We were told it was going to be $** dollars and we'd get a free bag. We got over charged and we got the free bag. My hubby called around 3 different times wondering what's going on and again no help, no solutions, and being put on hold for over 1.5hrs collectively for all 3 calls. All were escalated or was told a senior rep would call back and that never happened. Finally he spoke with someone and was told they would refund the difference for the overcharged (and we still think we're waiting on the 3 bags of dog food we ordered.)

Days later he sees they refunded all the money. He tried several more times after that to find out what's going on, we got the free bag of dog food and were wondering where the 3 bags are and why did they refunded us the whole amount. No one could give him a straight answer and they would put him on hold or told he'd get a call back. He's still waiting for anyone of those call back. So I start calling cause we're running out of dog food AND ALL WE WANTED WAS OUR ORDER. I got the same treatment. And everytime I call no one can give me a STRAIGHT answer or I have to hold so they can review their notes or even worse customer service told I have to hold so they can write their notes when nothing has been resolved and now there just wasting my time. I've gotten hung up one while on hold for several min and no one called me back.

I started taking the names of people I spoke with. Jason lied to me and said, "Your order will arrive tonight," per the tracking info he was looking at. That was on June 1st. He gave me a tracking that doesn't exists and NO delivery was made. I would ask for the reps' names and to spell it and I would be ignored hung up on or refused. I was told several times I couldn't speak with a manager or that I was speaking to someone in the cooperate office. I've spoken with Phoenix, Lisa, Wenty, Lynn, Jason, Yzett, Michaela, Miaty and a few more. I didn't get their names. I was continually put on hold, told someone would call me back (I'm still waiting for those calls) I'd be passed around, lied to, and never get any help or resolution.

THE REPS WERE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT WRITING THERE NOTES THEN HELPING ME WITH MY ORDER. Someone had canceled my order instead of refunding the difference like I mentioned in the beginning they refunded the whole order, never made a new one and sent us the free bag. Now it's been a few weeks and the price of dog food went up and I wanted my order at the price it was when I ordered it.. Not the new more expensive prices,, it wasn't my fault a Petco employee canceled my order and I shouldn't have to pay that price, especially when both my husband and I have been calling asking what's going on and no one could tell me the truth.

June 6th, after speaking with another horrible rep I got transferred to Lynn and had to explain everything for the hundredth time. She told me she would put in the order for the original price and she gave us a credit on a future order. I set up auto monthly to get a discount and gave our credit card info and we're charged the next day. Lynn said we would be every 7th of the month. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT! It was that simple and going on 3 weeks now of lies and boom just like that I got the resolution and help I needed. Or so I thought… It's now the Jund 18 and still NO DOG FOOD. I want to pull out my hair. This is RIDICULOUS!

For almost a week the tracking info said ready to ship. I again called and spoke with someone that said it would arrive tonight by 9pm. I was charged on the 7th and I have to wait till the 18th for an order I originally put in May 25th. And all the b.s. I put up with, time ice spent..wasted trying to find out what's going on and where's my food. The worst experience ever! Words don't even describe how angry I am. I hope the dog food shows up tonight like they said it would...but I won't hold my breath.

Over one month ago, I ordered a recurring delivery of three cases of prescription dog food per month, from Petco. After waiting and finally picking up extra cases of food from my vet, Petco sent me an email saying my order was cancelled. I emailed back and said I would not do business with them again, and that I would order the food from a different company. One month later, Petco emailed me saying my order had been shipped. I called to remind them they had cancelled my order and I was now on my second delivery from a different company. They said my order had only been cancelled for one month, so I reiterated that my order was to be cancelled permanently.

When their delivery showed up on my porch, I called my local Petco and explained I am in the high risk group for Covid-19 and asked to return the shipment via curbside drop off. They told me to call customer service to arrange for UPS pick up. Customer service said I could go to UPS and pay to return the dog food to them. Next I called an operator at corporate headquarters, who said she would relay my message to a corporate manager and I would be hearing back shortly. I have not heard back. Dealing with Petco is frustrating at best. I have now enlisted the help of the BBB.

Purchased a guinea pigs 5/22 from Petco in Bartlett. She was sold to us with an eye infection. Called the store as we were still well within the 30 days of the “pet guarantee” and was told by the store manager to just sell the pet back to the store. Which is not stated on the companion animal purchase card. My child has gained an attachment to this pet and does not want to lose her. Store gives no other option to assist with the infection. Please be aware of purchasing animals from Petco as they do not care about their customers. I was just offered a refund for the pet and no apology for selling me a pet with an infection. Plus all the money spent on the pet with them. No way to do business. Corporate was no help either. Go to Petsmart. I am now having to pay more money out of pocket to have the guinea pig treated on my own. Thanks Petco.

I always have loved the store Petco in Commack NY. Everyone is usually very nice. However one day I was having a really bad day and I was giving some attitude. The girl who was helping me, Mikayla, was so kind and patient. I even accidentally raised my voice and she still kept calm and found everything I needed. I even had to go back to the store that same day because I forgot something and she helped me right away. She was a sweetheart. She even spoke Spanish which helped greatly when I didn’t know some of the English words. She definitely will be who I look for the next time I come in.

I purchased a cat tree from Petco. It was the 72" Go Pet Club with condos. I didn't have it put up for a full day and my cat got her claw caught underneath the screw that holds it together. The screws are rather large and don't fit flush. She tore her ligament in her leg in half. It required surgery that cost me over $1000.00. She is still recovering and confined in a room until she heals completely. I notified Petco of the problem in hopes that they could stop production or find some way of keeping this from happening to other cats. They don't seem to be too concerned about it but if I can save at least one pet owner and their pet from this it will be worth it. Please be aware of the danger.

I have had the worse experience ordering some cases of cat food for delivery from Petco EVER. I ordered 6 cases, but the shipment was split into 3, which would be fine, but I have only received 1/2 of my order. I contacted Petco 3 times to obtain a credit for the cat food not received and was given the run around all 3 times. Finally the last time I was told that I would receive a credit, and made sure I copied the conversation for proof. Yet, I STILL do not have the credit I deserve for the cat food I did not receive. The other thing that bothers me about the whole order is that my card was charge for the whole order all at once and not just the portions that were actually shipping like Amazon does. I am extremely frustrated at this point with Petco and will never be using their online order/delivery service again.

I tried for over a week to order vet-prescribed kidney care dogfood through Petco online. I placed the order, and emailed the required vet prescription on same day. A week later, the order is still on hold because Petco is waiting for a vet callback. I told them three times the vet will not respond because of other urgent matters in the pandemic. That is why the vet gave me a written prescription. Petco advertises to send prescriptions to petcovetdiets@petco.com, and I have now done that three times. They still will not fill my order. Petco doesn't care about sick animals.

I ordered online with 35% first order and free shipping during stay at home order. When I was transferred to Paypal site and then back it didn't apply discounts, and my card was charged nearly $50 more. Tried a live chat and they were unavailable. Called the customer service number and waited an extraordinarily long time to talk with a representative. When I did get one it was a call center and he spoke broken English. I explained my issue and he said he couldn't apply discount. He said the first part had shipped. I could refuse the order (which I couldn't be available at home to do so), I could ship it back at my expense, or he offered me $20 in coupons. I said I'll accept the first item but cancel the remaining item. He said he could do this and repeated everything back word for word. He would refund my card. This process took close to an hour.

I then received an email that the next item shipped and no refund. Again I spent 56 minutes on the phone, with someone in Philippines that was in training and didn't speak good English and didn't have an identification number. She was unable to stop or refund the order...that I had already done. I asked for her to look at previous conversation that was supposedly recorded for training purposes...No record. Less than acceptable training and customer service. Lost my repeat order and business.

I ordered clipper combs online for curbside delivery after researching to make sure they would fit my new clippers. Got them home, they are too narrow and do NOT fit the clipper. Placed back in case and brought back to Petco for an exchange to get larger size (if in stock) or to get a refund. They refused to do it. Said it was related to pandemic. Last I checked, being a healthcare provider, pet supplies aren’t a source of COVID-19. I could MAYBE make a case for not returning pet food, but not for plastic encased, obviously unused clipper combs. It should’ve been published online when ordering, and in store.

Sale price pop up while reading a Google article. I ordered at sale price a dog bed plus added dog treats on sale to qualify for free shipping. Next day email confirmation of order, everything billed at regular price. This is the 2nd time this happened. Cancelled order and will never order online from Petco again. Fraudulent.

Due to the Covid19 I was ordering online for home delivery. THEY messed up SO BAD - I now have NICE boxes of water fountain filers (3 ea to a box) and called twice AND the corporate office. Orders were supposed to be cancelled and charges reimbursed - they were NOT and now I'm getting another delivery tomorrow!!!! Called the corp office and he conveniently couldn't hear me and asked for my number to call me back which of course never happened! DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY - it is NOT US OWNED and BADLY RUN BY IDIOTS.

We have recently purchased a bag of "Whole Hearted" dog food from Petco in Tucson, AZ. We purchased the dog food on April 4. Since switching our dog to this food, she has been throwing up and suffering from loose stool -- on a daily basis! It has been 10 days, but these issues have not subsided. Contacted the Petco store, and they mentioned that I could bring the dog food back for a refund. I explained that I no longer have the packaging (we put the dry food into a large plastic bin for storage). They said it would be okay with a valid receipt. I did not have the physical receipt, but I had the receipt number, store number, purchase date, and the amount. Purchase was linked to my Petco rewards account. They refused to take the food. Compare this disappointing service to Chewy.com's service. With Chewy, I was allowed to receive the refund without sending the food back. I would be told to donate the food or discard it if it went bad! Not happy...

My cat had kidney disease and can only eat special k/d cat food. I have it on repeat delivery from Petco to be sure I always have it. For my last delivery, I received the notice that it was being processed, but then Petco never sent it! I looked up my account on their website and saw that the delivery was backordered, but Petco never notified me. When I called, they just kept saying that they had 14 days for a back order. It took an hour on the phone with a representative whose English was terrible to finally get them to understand that I needed some form of the k/d food (any flavor!) right away and eventually got an order placed. Even then they don't have prescription food set up with refills, so every order needs to get Vet approval. And since it needs vet approval, I couldn't even pay for expedited shipping. All in all, not a good service for sick animals!

I signed up for repeat delivery for a medication for my pet on their website. By the second month, I had found the same medication for repeat delivery for much cheaper at another website that was listed on Petco's website as one that they price match. I called customer service and, after waiting FORTY FIVE MINUTES, was told they don't do price match if you're on repeat delivery (even though it says "price match guarantee" ON the repeat delivery page). So I said ok, I'll cancel repeat delivery and do a one time purchase with the price match, because even paying for shipping it would come out cheaper.

The lady said she needed to "check with her manager" for something and put me on hold again for another 10 min... just to then hang up on me. I got the strong vibe they just try everything they can to not honor their price match "guarantee" they put on their website. I cancelled my order and got repeat delivery with the other website, whose customer service was leagues better than Petco's. Two stars only because I got the first month of my medication for a discount (which was still more expensive than other websites anyway).

Ordered Prescription cat food from Petco. Sent the Vet information along with the order. The date the order was due to be received they sent me a notice that they cancelled the order because they were unable to contact the Vet office. They said they Faxed x 2 and called once. They lied. My Los Angeles Vet facility was a 24/7 Emergency facility with full staffing. The place was an Animal Hospital with ICU. Always staffed. Always a Vet on duty. Always a Receptionist at the front desk. You could Fax or call anytime and get a reply.

Called Petco to see if I could fix the situation. Talked to a "Service Representative" then a Supervisor. Both equally useless saying "we are sorry but nothing we can do". I asked if I could e-mail the prescription and have the order immediately sent out. They said no I could e-mail the Prescription but I would have to start the order process over again....of course they were "sorry" for the inconvenience. Never again!!!! Mail order from Petco is a disaster.

Ordered online to be picked up at store (the Petco located at Missouri and Westwood). Payment for order was to include $5.00 rewards credit. When I went to pick up the order 3 cans were missing and I was told that the store did not have them in stock- I asked about credit and was told that it would be on my credit card. IT ISNT!!!! Not only that, I was given a rewards credit of $3.60 - not $5.00 as indicated on my order.... so basically you have screwed me out of almost 4.00 on my credit card and another $1.40 on my rewards. This is really crappy service and I will copy and paste this for reviews. Wish there were a zero-star rating....

Petco is deliberately dishonest on their online item descriptions. Petco.com and Petco's eBay store both advertise Fluker's Castle Crib Reptile Hideaway, Large as being gray in color. Well, I already have two of those in pink (it's the only stupid color the physical Petco locations sell the item in), and I hate that color so I did NOT want another pink one. First, I tried to order from Petco.com. Despite clearly advertising the item in gray, I was told they could not ship me a gray one as "they only get what is sent to them" and they don't have any in gray. Next, I tried the eBay store. I asked them before I ordered the item if it would arrive in gray, and I was assured that it would. So I placed the order. I messaged them again after purchase to remind them that their ebay listing description said the item would be gray so I expected to receive one in that color.

A few days later, my box arrives and the item is PINK!!! Petco deliberately lied to me and I am PISSED! Why would I have paid $6.99 in shipping on eBay to get the same pink item I could have gotten from the local Petco and then got it same day for the exact same price and without paying the outrageous shipping?! More and more I hate Petco. I get nothing but poor customer service and incompetence from this store. I spend a lot of money per year at Petco and I deserve to get what I'm paying for!

In a few words, PetCo takes advantage of pet owners. Their pricing is ridiculous on everything from cat grass to pet leashes and clothing. And if you have a question, in store they’d just a soon you’d shop somewhere else. Online I’ve had no issues and customer service was great. I stopped shopping at the physical store.

Petco store in Lancaster, Pa has excellent friendly customer service each time I go there. They have also always given me great advice or products and service. I also always see them taking care of what reptiles, fish and animals there like they care about them personally. And you can always find a bargain. As well they offer pet grooming there and training also. I always go back there of by there for a bargain or advice.

I Have the app for 11, they said it will take 4 hours, to do the grooming for my mini poodle, not even 6 pounds, after the 4 hours, I went to pick up my dogs. It was not done properly, and the person who suppose to take care said when I complain because my dog was with a lots of knots, she said if she has to do extra job is going to cost me more, until then I paid 59 $ for a mini poodle!!!! I request my money back and she said I will not be able to go back to any Petco...so sad, very bad situation. Really not as good as use to be with the other grooming...

PetCo has a pretty good selection of most items although they don't have a lot of variety in beds. My cat has not gotten sick from the cat Grass they sell and I cannot say the same for other big box retailers. They don't have a lot of sales and the clothes are not good value but the food seems reasonably priced and with a lot of variety.

Petco offers a large supply of products, though perhaps too large where food is concerned. The grain-free food was neither pulled nor was an informative note placed near by detailing possible harmful effects of feeding a grain-free diet to dogs. Along the same lines Nestlee products are still sold. This could be a conscientious company although it is not yet.

Love this pet store. It always has just what we need for our cats. Selection of food and toys is outstanding. We also have a koi pond and they have larger packages of pond fish food at reasonable prices. We're always greeted at the door by s smiling associate. They always ask if we need help and are ready to assist if needed. They also have a loyalty card which is great. You get a $5 reward after spending a certain amount of money. They send coupons regularly which is really nice.

People are very nice and helpful. Prices are way too high on some things so I get stuff at Chewy.com. They have switched a lot of products to their store brand which I don’t like because I already have brands I like. I haven’t tried their store brands because I don’t know enough about the quality. I have 3 dogs and I’m VERY picky about their nutrition.

I'm rating Petco on the basis of being in the actual store! Not online shopping. I'm a proud Mom of my furball Yoshi. I've been a proud Mom of dogs for over 30 years. Petco has a wonderful selection of food, treats, health products, and an expanding selection of in-house services. Services that range from vet care to grooming to grooming stations where you can bath your own dog. Recently I've become attached to frogs - trying to save tadpoles that transitioned over to frogs late fall. The staff at Petco have been extremely helpful as a venture into the unknown. I'd recommend Petco as a first choice for your pets needs.

The Petco in Riverdale the Bronx 10463. The Management is TERRIBLE. Store is DIRTY. NO STOCK DEAD ANIMALS ask for help and the manager and stock manager ignore you and turn away. There is no welcoming attitude. This manager since he has been here is rude, uncaring and not interested in taking proper care of animals. I've been going to this store since it has opened. I used to be clean and people would help. Now its the total opposite. DO NOT SHOP THERE. Vetco and grooming and aquatics are the only good parts of this store.

Petco offers a large variety of good quality products for most any kind of pet, but certain things can be a little more expensive in my opinion than other stores. We have used Petco for many years, for many different type of pets including cats, dogs, snakes, lizards and fish. Other than not wanting to sell mice for snake food, we've always been able to find what we want or need there.

PETCO is a convenient place to shop for my pets needs. There is a large selection of dog foods both wet and dry and they always have the brand my dog eats. The treats are very nutritional. The toys are well made and they have a large variety. The selection of fish to choose from are pretty good however the tropical fish don’t live long. Not sure if they are getting them from a bad source or what. Fish food, tanks and accessories are plentiful. The associates are always very helpful. It’s a convenient place to shop and overall I’m happy with the service they offer. I should add that the grooming department does a great job trimming my bulldogs nails with no issues.

They don’t have automatic door open and that makes difficult to take out a cart with 50 lbs or more of doggies goods. Overall too expensive, in fact I am considering starting to cook my own dog food. All of their dog food has too much of added D3, which is used to make rat poison. The positives: they have good people working there.

Have been shopping at Petco for the last year. I currently have a 55 gallon fish tank with tropical fish. The Petco staff has been very helpful with tips and information on how to maintain the aquarium, fish selection and plant selection in order to maintain a healthy tank. Petco offers discounts on a regular basis for filters, fish and chemicals and to buy some item in bulk quantities.

When I first started to setup my aquarium, I had looked at selecting specific types of fish based on color and temperament of the fish; guppies, tetras, angle fish, etc. When I start to process, I spoke with the staff at the Petco store in Hillside and they took the time to ask questions about what type of fish I wanted and the size of the tank and filters. They also explained the importance of which fish would get along and how many fish I could have in a 55 gallon tank. They took me through the steps of getting the tank ready for the fish by testing the water and training how to maintain a healthy ecosystem. I continue to shop at the Petco store and seek advice about my aquarium. I would highly recommend This store.

There's nothing that is negative in my mind when I think of PETCO. So far the shelves have been stocked, the store has been very clean, and the staff gives me great customer service. Whenever I have a question one of the staff can't answer they refer me to another who can help me. Also, whenever I've had my dog's nails trimmed at any of the PETCOs I've been to, they are quick and my dog doesn't come home limping because her nails were cut too short. I've visited PETCOs in southern California and in Nevada... all of the stores have been consistent in everything I rated above.

When I was looking for some chews for my cats with Omega 3 and some other minerals for their skin and coat (it is very dry in the winter and they end up with "dandruff" if I don't get them the supplements). Petco is one of the few stores that carries this in little bit formats. Other places carry a powder which I cannot use, because I cannot be sure if both cats get enough--one of my cats seems to eat from his own bowl and then tries to eat from the other cat's bowl. I can feed the chews to each cat individually.

PETCO inventory is outstanding. Great selection. All types of pets covered as far a equipment, food, bedding, etc. Surveying the store aisles, seemed crowded. However, if you love your dog, cat, bird or whatever, you'll be pleased. The real downside is price. I was there recently for a leash for our grandson's new dog. At $30, seemed outrageous. PETCO is a wonderful 'one stop to get it all' pet store. You can find all of your quality needs at PETCO, from beds to shampoos to treats & toys. Everything at PETCO is quality for great prices, there's no room for 'less than quality' at PETCO. PETCO employees are also top quality, if I'm wondering around with a lost look in my eyes I'm confident that I will be found by a customer specialist who will stay with me until I have everything I came for, and then some. Many of the PETCO stores also have grooming services available. The best thing, I think, about PETCO is that my fur babies are always welcome to wander the aisles with me. Oh, and the treat bar that has all the best cookies and treats that my furry kids LOVE. PETCO will always be my go to for all pet's needs.

More knowledgable staff members that are actually aware of their services, know the products. Actually are taught in a store training. Need more staff, one cashier is not advisable to help someone when they are in demand at the cashier check out. It’s not possible not able to walk away. Managerial staff is not cooperative nor take pride professionalism in their duties. Poorly underdeveloped communication skills nor business practice to know what is practicable, not. Should have more college education to oversee a store being undeveloped not knowledgable to make coherent decisions that are practical. Better staff advisble decisions than down playing a consumer whom ask for help.

They pay for the services that run operate the store. Just a thought, cause I do care as a consumer/ customer. It used to be a fun experience going in there. Also, need more staff to know the fish tanks clean not smell dead. Having a fowl odor is Offensive and unhealthy to both the consumer/ employee not cleaning and fish. Can cause diseases. I’d like to see how your products used look before the short-staffed overhead was cut in the budget. Now I limit my services there. Between the staff and odor it’s unbearable.

There is a relatively small Petco "Unleashed" near my home that I love. Service is great and though it is not a large store the selection of products is very good. They also have a self-service grooming area, which is a plus. I had purchased a doggie toothbrush there that my dog absolutely refused to have anything to do with. I took it bag and got a full refund without any hassle. The only problem I have had is some wet dog food I got there that was not sealed properly and at least one container went bad. I did not take it back as I believe I had thrown away the receipt and didn't want to take the time. There is a larger PetSmart not too much farther away that also has a good selection and I have purchased items there, but I had a very bad experience there with their dog grooming service. I have not shopped there since the bad grooming experience and much prefer the Petco.

It is refreshing to shop in a store where not only the customers love animals by the employees just exude love towards animals. It is a pleasant environment and the love is there. The product recommendations and networking with fellow pet owners is also refreshing and pleasant. The store is simply amazing and we love it!!

I was looking for a harness and collar for my 12 week old puppy. I also needed puppy food.. the staff at Petco was very helpful. They approached me immediately and took me to the sections and help me pick out the product. I was in and out of there in no time.

I've been in PETCO in my hometown and other cities in multiple states while traveling with my dog. My normal purchases are pet food and an occasional toy or other impulse purchase at the checkout. The selection of foods, both by brand and package size are excellent. Prices are similar to other stores for the same products. The products I want are easy to find and I've rarely needed the assistance of an employee. Overall I'm happy with PETCO.

The store is clean and has plenty of stock. I can get help if I need a specific product. I use my local store for grooming. The groomers do a good job and are willing to make suggested changes. I would recommend this store.

PetCo always has everything I need for my dog's special needs. I love shopping there because I can do one stop shopping. The brands of treats and food I purchase are always available at PetCo. The rewards program is wonderful, earning is easy and the discounts are very generous. If I can't find in store then I can always find online. The prices are the best compared to other Pet stores. Highly recommend PetCo for all your pet needs. I also like that they support Pet Rescue.

There's an abundance of animal products. There used to be more of a selection of reptiles but they still have a great store. The last time I visited this store I was interested in the baby chameleons. Went back a few months later and all they had were Geckos and 1 grown Chameleon. Son was obsessed with having a baby so we ended up not buying anything. The staff were apologetic and are very helpful.

Their reward point system does not work well. Although the representative on the phone took care of it, when I showed the email with the points, the cashier had a trouble when I was checking out. They need a better communication or computerized system so the cashier could process the reward system for customers who signed up.

I really like Petco and have shopped there for years. I am a little disappointed that they are not stocking a lot of the Science Diet wet cat food anymore. The employees are always very helpful when I shop there. They have a variety of cat toys and scratching posts and anything else that I'm looking for except the wet food that I have been buying for years.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. And the store is well staffed so when you do need help there is always somewhere near that gladly helps you. There is a huge selection of pet food. Previously I had to purchase the cat food I use only online so I was very happy to see they stock it. The store is clean and well organized.

I love Petco! they helped me so much with my new furbaby. From choosing the perfect food (which she loves) to having Vetco services, my little girl is so much happier than the life she came from. I was convinced that she had worms cause every time she used the restroom, she would scoot her bottom across my floor. After taking her to her first Vetco visit, she no longer scoots and we both couldn't be happier...THANK YOU Petco for you and ALL your services!

I find it annoying that employees imply that I know nothing about fish. I asked for 3 fish total... 2 of which for what I already have is not common however with my research I've done shows it can be done and to give it a try. The third was a pleco. When I asked for the fish I wanted I was questioned and advised I can't do this and that the pleco will outgrow my tank. Oh really!? Well thanks for the heads up because I didn't know this. Actually I have done my research on what I want and I've had fish for over 15 years. Funny how I was questioned on fish.. When the customer ahead of me purchased 2 turtles and not one question was given to them about where they were going to live. Just boxed them up and handed them over.

Plus how long do your bettas live in those little containers. That's a great home for them while they wait for someone to buy them. But question me who would provide a great environment for whatever I purchase. Maybe your employees should ask some questions on if you are new to fish or something like that before just assuming everyone who walks in your store is an idiot. So I did not buy any fish at your store and will continue not to shop at your store for all my pets not just the fish.

I used to shop at Petco for my dog until I found that the "local" small guy no frills had everything they did and more at better prices. Petco is a big on all animals but no so much on DOGS, which is what most people have right? Dollar for dollar front line pricing is high. Give the small local businesses a try, they are probably your neighbors any way and will work hard to make you happy!

Wonderful to be able to shop with my fur baby at a store for him. Very helpful when first-timer. Great rewards program. Very clean store! The selection of toys and clothes for the great selection. My fur baby is 4xl and hard to find clothing. Sadly so much is only available online. Great to have a local store!

Usually I can find three or more options for the same product, that's allow us choose the proper product and based on personal experience or just feeling. The store is good distributed with a side just dedicated to dogs and the side dedicated to different kind of pets. We think that for new pet owners is better to go to the store and see the products in person, instead of online ordering, future reorders can be done virtually.

The store has a great variety of foods, treats, and toys for my dog. When he picked me out from TAILS, I got a coupon book from Petco to help with choosing items for his care. This was great because there were numerous foods, etc that I would have never tried without the coupon incentive. Staff has been helpful when I needed snails or new fish to repopulate my aquarium. When buying new fish for my aquarium, their supply looks healthy and I seldom have a problem with they when I take them home. Also, the manager has been great when redeeming coupons. Clerks at the register are always polite and friendly.

Petco has always been my go-to pet store. Being a cat mom of 5, I like to ensure that my fur babies are eating the most nutritious and healthiest cat food. I get both wet food and dry food at petco and am ALWAYS treated with respect and care as soon as I walk through the doors. Aside from just being friendly, the employees at Petco always seem to be extremely knowledgeable about every kind of pet you’re inquiring about. Love Petco!

The clinics offered on-site by outside organizations affords you the convenience of a trip to your favorite store with your pet, ample free parking and shopping with opportunity for participation in activities or events that you might not otherwise consider Due to extenuating circumstances such as fear of unknowns, logistics or time restraints to name a few. I am an introvert by nature with a deep sense of love for my dog who I consider family. He is the ultimate companion and I want to do more for him but feel limited due to my personality. This is a win-win situation for us all.

The best care I have ever seen at a store concerning fish. So many stores we have tried - do not know how to raise & even scoop fish out properly to give us a better chance for their survival & also to not transfer any disease. Petco in Wesley Chapel, Fl. off Bruce B Downs has always provided great quality fish at reasonable prices. They care about their fish so their staff is the reason & it's very hard to find someone who knows what they are doing concerning aquatic animals. By the way - we have a few stores closer to our home but don't mind driving for the quality received. Thanks Petco!

I get my roaches from there. It's the only place that has them close to here. The main problem I have is the availability of the roaches and any bugs from there. Sometimes when you buy any bugs from Petco they are a poor quality. Their lizards look to be in good health and they do have a variety for cats and dogs.

I like the level of expertise at the store. You can ask about products and get a real answer and comparisons. The service is very courteous and the store is clean and has a huge selection of pet products. I had to go in and buy a leash for my dog and the clerk helped me and explained to me what the Products offered and how to size properly. I also had a question about food and the clerk walked me thru the different brands and explained to me what would be recommended for my pet and what the pros and cons and reviews on the foods. Finally if you happen to go on a Sunday brand specialist for foods and products will be present at the stores and will even offers a discount coupon on some promotional products. Overall I have to say great experience!

We don't have a "local" pet store so that we have to use a chain. I like the knowledge of the Petco employees in reference to my two Bichon Frise dogs. They have helped me find many products to feed, care for and treat my dogs! I know that giving them Orijen freeze dried food gives them nutritional meals each day. I have purchased antler bones for my dogs to chew. In Petco I have found the perfect collars, leashes, winter sweaters and toys for play. I purchased the best large wood kennel from Petco that looks like a fine piece of furniture in my home. All in all, I have Happy Healthy Loving dogs because of good products and good care.

Initially I had a great in-store purchased. However I bought some items online. It was difficult to track my online order because of online setup. Then I had a issue with a cat tree that fell apart. I called for return options. They informed they had a 30 day return policy. But I can try to take it back in-store and "see" if they would take the item back.

I started being a loyal client of Petco the moment that after lots of labs, tests and prescribed meds and food for a skin condition were given to my Godiva (chocolate Lab) with unsuccessful results. One day I went to Petco and talking with an employee mentioned him the problem and he recommended a specific food, which only Petco has, and detailed me all the benefits of it. Once started feeding Godiva with that food her skin condition went away completely. The customer service is exceptional, the services are great but they always have problems with the inventory of products in the stores, most of the times they “ran out of the food” but can order it with free shipping to the store and you have to pick it up, should be free home shipping to compensate the trip for nothing.
