What is Pawp?
Pawp is a virtual veterinary consultation app that provides 24/7 care for cats and dogs. You can feel assured that veterinary advice is provided by a certified veterinary professional. Each veterinary professional tailors care plans to your pet’s specific needs.
The annual membership covers unlimited virtual visits and follow-ups to maintain your pet’s well-being. It is important to note that Pawp is unable to provide diagnoses or newly issued prescriptions. For this reason, traditional veterinary care in combination with Pawp may be necessary.
Pawp also offers a free Vet Finder service where you can find vets in your area and your budget.
How does Pawp work?
To start using Pawp, you will need to download the Apple or Android app. Once the app is downloaded you will create a profile. This profile will include your pet’s details, as well as your short- and long-term health goals for them.
After your first virtual pet visit, you will then receive a follow-up care plan that is tailored to your pet’s health. You can connect with the vet if you have any questions or concerns about the care plan.
You will receive continuous reminders and recommendations to provide successful pet care during and after your pet’s care plan is complete. You will also be able to schedule any follow-up virtual visits.
Pawp coverage
The Pawp annual plan covers unlimited video and text consultations. In addition, the annual plan covers limitless follow-ups to help you provide continual care for your pet. Pawp does not cover diagnoses or new prescriptions. It does include a virtual vet clinic complete with tools to help you get the best care out of Pawp.

At the time of publishing, Pawp offers two pricing options:
- The $99 annual fee covers unlimited virtual visits.
- An additional $19-per-month emergency care option is available. This provides pet owners a one-time $3,000 reimbursement for pet emergency expenses.

Date submitted claim to PAWP: 11/21/2025. Via their mobile app per their instructions. Mobile app claims I should hear back in 5 to 7 business days. Amount of money I have paid to PAWP: I have had a paid membership for 5 years with PAWP. My monthly membership fee initially $19.00 per month and was increased to $24.00 per month sometime in the last year or so. I estimated what I have paid to PAWP over the past 5 years is around $1,200 dollars. What the business committed to provide to me: Provide emergency protection. My emergency fund reimburses me up to $3,000 for one unexpected life-threatening emergency per year to any pet added to my account. My dog, Sophie, was an added pet.
What the nature of the dispute is: I believe PAWP is acting in bad faith and giving me excuse after excuse. I filed my claim on 11/21/2025, was told I would hear back in 5 to 7 business days. Today is 1/19/2026. I have sent them several follow-up messages asking for the status of my claim, with their only response being my claim is being reviewed. I am not even sure the response I am receiving is from a human; their responses look like AI responses and are not indicative of a message from a human person.
Also, there is no phone number to call, as I have asked them to call me, or me to call them, with no response. The only way to contact them during this frustrating period seems to be the app and seems to be canned and/or AI responses. My claim ID is ** and requested amount is $2,667.46. My dog was extremely sick, in and out of the emergency vets’ offices, and subsequently died within the 3-day period. It was completely unexpected, and all emergency documentation was sent with my claim. Whether or not the business has tried to resolve the problem: No, they have not. They have not even tried. Besides getting AI Bot responses, it is well past the 5 to 7 business days for a claim review. This company has extremely poor communication avenues and I do not feel customers should be treated this way.

Pawp is a bad faith insurance. This company is definitely one to avoid. I enrolled in their Emergency Fund, meticulously followed all the guidelines to ensure reimbursement, but my claim was still denied without any explanation. Upon reviewing other customer experiences, it's clear they habitually look for any pretext to reject claims—whether claiming "it wasn't an emergency," alleging failure to contact Pawp, or accusing customers of not submitting documentation in time. Despite strictly adhering to their protocols for my dog's emergency and timely submitting all required documents, my claim was unjustly rejected. I plan to report this company to all relevant government agencies. They masquerade as a pet insurance provider, but it's entirely a scam. Be vigilant and don't be deceived as I was.
