After using expensive soft dog treats for years, a little over a month ago, I decided to switch to a harder dog biscuit in order to help my 3 dogs' teeth stay cleaner. So I went to Walmart & bought a 7.5 lb box of Ol' Roy Multi flavor dog biscuits for small/medium dogs. I divided the box of biscuits into 3 plastic containers to keep them fresher. Yesterday, I got to the bottom of the 1st plastic container & saw these little brown specks. Looking closer, I realized they were live bugs, so I brought out the other 2 containers. I dumped them out on the counter & both of them also had little brown bugs crawling around inside. It seems that they are inside of the biscuits, not on the biscuits. I freaked out.

This happened in 2010. It's hard to write. I was asked to care for a friend's 12-year-old family dog while she attended to her father who had cancer. The dog stayed at her home, indoors. I let him out 3 times a day. He smelled awful. He was scratching himself raw, refused to eat, and was mostly unresponsive toward me. He acted very strange when he got up to walk. It looked like he was having a hard time balancing and he kept holding his head at an odd angle. I noticed the Ol' Roy dog food bag in the garage and did some online investigating and discovered some very negative reviews. I contacted the owner about his condition and told her the bad food reviews. She said she would take him to a vet when she returned and to stop feeding Ol' Roy. Unfortunately, her father died and she had to stay longer than expected.

I keep seeing on the internet Ol' Roy Dog Treats have been recalled. I have looked and cannot find which ones are recalled. I give these to my babies and would really like to know which ones it is. Somebody, PLEASE help.

I bought a box of Ol’ Roy Dog Biscuits. I opened the box and flies flew out of the box. I took it back to Walmart and got another box. I opened it, no flies, but it was full of worms. I told the manager and asst. manager and pet manager that there were flies all back on the shelves in the dog treat section!!! They still have all that crap on the shelves. Thank goodness I never fed my 3 dogs any of that mess!!! They need to shut Ol’ Roy down!!!

Ever since I bought a 50-lb. bag of dog food, my 9 dogs have done nothing but poop all over the place. And then I googled Ol' Roy dog food and find out there is a recall on the dog food I bought. This really sucks. Now I've got to find more money so I can go get a different kind of dog food.

We purchased Ol Roy for our dog, which she ate. At 11pm my husband said he could hear her moving in her cage so he got up to take her out and found her covered in hives. I have given her Benadryl and taken the food back to Walmart. Everything I see on the internet says it takes 24 hours to go away. If they aren't gone by morning, I guess we will be at the vet. Very disappointed after reading all the comments. I will never buy this brand again!

We have used Ol' Roy dog food for many years. We have had problems occasionally with moldy food and bad bags. This has been few and far between and the times it has happened, the company has easily replaced/reimbursed us with no problem. This time, the food does not "appear" to be bad with mold or out of date issues... but something is wrong with it. Last week, when we opened a new bag and fed it to our dog, he began having uncontrolled diarrhea and vomited all over the house. We promptly took him off the food and put him on a rice/baby food diet to heal his stomach.

We have been feeding our Bull Terrier and Jack Russell Ol Roy-Pure Balanced for a few months now. Three days ago, our BT stopped eating and became very lethargic. I ended up taking her to the vet yesterday (6/14/13); $639 later, she has been diagnosed with acute kidney failure. She did improve with the vet's treatments and came home today, but still not herself. After reading these posts, I wonder if it's the dog food? Our Jack Russell seems okay so far. Our BT DID NOT have any vomiting or diarrhea, just stopped eating and very lethargic. How do we go about getting the food tested and filing a complaint as some have posted?

I have been feeding my dogs Ol Roy dog food for about 10 years. Recently, my Red Heeler, who is a very active and energetic dog, has been refusing to eat his food. He has become lethargic, is staggering and has lost body weight. Last night (June 2013), he puddled and was lying in his urine on the kitchen floor. He has slept indoors since the above symptoms began so I could observe him. I always purchased the large bags in multiples when on sale at Wal-Mart and dispense them as needed in easy to access plastic barrels. This is a farm, and he is a well-trained working herding dog with my purebred livestock. Therefore, I am familiar with many aspects of animal nutrition, pharmaceuticals, vet care, etc. also having a University background in bio-science.

I had been feeding my dog Little Champions wet food in packets since I got her for about 6 months. She was very healthy and frisky, but then I started researching dog foods and realized this really wasn't a very good food for her. Last night on my way home, I figured I'd pick up a more premium food for her and grabbed some cans of Pure Balance canned food for her made by Ol Roy, after reading the ingredient list and being satisfied. She seemed to really like it to my relief and ate all of the half can I put out for her.

We switched our dogs to Ol Roy because Walmart was sold out of our usual brand. One dog had already died, and one of them is very sick. After reading this, I'm sure that crappy food is what killed our dog. I called the number on the bag. The guy I spoke with was very polite and apologetic, and said he would make sure we got our money back. Got a follow-up call, and they were rude as hell; said I can send the food in, but she doesn't know what they would test it for because there is nothing wrong with their food and they've had no complaints. But they will be glad to give me a gift card to refund my money. I filed a report with the FDA as well. Can't believe they're letting innocent animals die and hiding it, and going to lie to me when I know other people have complained, too.

About a month ago, my husband and I purchased a bag of Ol Roy dog food from Walmart. Our dog, two days later, started vomiting and having diarrhea 7-10 times a day!!! His vomit smelled of stool, and the poor guy couldn't even make it to the bathroom outside; he was so lethargic. I kept him on the food, thinking he got into something, but it just continued. We fed our little dog a different food, but she got into his bowl and that night was vomiting and having incontinence with diarrhea. I believe it is the dog food, and something has to be done about it!!! We bought our dog some new food, and he is completely back to normal.

We have 3 dogs. We switched them to Ol' Roy dog food because Walmart didn't have what we normally buy. One of our dogs died Friday after getting extremely sick, vomiting and diarrhea. He was very lethargic, lost control of his bowel and bladder. We have another dog, sick and dying. The vet won't treat him because he said it will just cost us a lot of money and he doesn't believe there's any chance of saving him. The only one we have left seems to be acting okay; we switched his food in hopes to keep him from getting whatever killed our other dog. I believe the only reason he is still okay is because he comes with me to my mom's and eats her dogs' food every day. I thought our dogs had just gotten into something they shouldn't have but after reading all this, I am sure it was the food because they were perfectly healthy before we switched dog food. I, never in my life, thought people would be so greedy to let innocent animals die.

My seven-year-old registered American Water Spaniel became very sick, lethargic, and died of complete organ failure. My three other dogs were getting sick also but we switched them to another brand of dog food and they are now fine. We are devastated at the loss of our beloved dog.

Our 3 dogs and they are big dogs are raised on Purina Dog Chow and we ran out of dog food so our son went to store and got a 50-lb. bag of Ol' Roy Complete Nutrition because they were out of the Purina. I fed them once. The next day, they were puking, had diarrhea, just lying around and this was not normal for them. I went on the internet and found out this crap about Ol' Roy which should be out of business for selling this garbage. I cannot believe the ingredients in this dog food either if that's what you want to call them.

I complained to the store which I bought the bag of Ol' Roy complete nutrition 55 pound bag from today. And they refused to pull the bags from the shelves and actually treated me as if they were going to throw me out of the store for telling other people about this product and how it killed my dog. I was very upset at the store’s blatant refusal to listen and their comments that Ol' Roy is a company brand owned by Walmart and perfectly safe. This stuff is the one thing that I fed my dogs differently. And right after I fed them, it got them sick, and my Shih Tzu/poodles became lethargic and began vomiting white phlegm and having very liquid stool. I quit feeding them this junk because I was not sure but suspected the food of being the cause.

A few months ago, we started feeding our 7-year-old lab Ol Roy complete Nutrition. He gained a lot of weight, but still seemed fine. A few weeks ago, he was weak and didn't want to play or run like he normally does. He seemed to have had a stroke and/or seizure. This morning (May 7), he collapsed and died. Seven years old. Research what you are feeding your dog. Educate yourselves. Don't let this happen to you. It's completely horrific and 100% avoidable.

I bought on May 6th at Walmart a large bag of the Grilled Strips. It was late afternoon and gave my Yorkie Poodle about 4 strips, all total. She was fine when she went to bed, but this morning she was shaking uncontrollable and confused. I am positive that this dog food has poisoned her system and getting ready to call my vets. I was shocked to see what was said about this company online. Also informing Walmart as well. Date on package is 10-10-14 3101TP220528.

My daughter just went to feed the dogs and there in the cup was a desiccated rat's head with kibble stuck to it. The fangs featuring very prominently.

Two days ago I bought a bag of 'Ol Roy Pure Balance chicken and brown rice dog food. I was surprised that the ingredients list actually looked good. My mini schnauzer wouldn't eat any, but he's often very picky with his food. So, I bought a couple packets of 'Ol Roy chunks and mixed one in. My dog ate it all up. He seemed fine but had a wet stool later on. I just thought it was due to the moisture in the wet packet. Then yesterday I put just a little bit of a new packet of 'Ol Roy chunks and mixed the 'Ol Roy Pure Balance with it. He reluctantly ate half of it. Since last night to now, he has had several loose bowels and has vomited 2 times. He has never responded this way to any other food. I don't know if it's the wet chunks in the packet or the dry or both, but it's all 'Ol Roy. This morning I just gave him a small amount of the dry, but he just hurriedly left it all there in the bowl and will have nothing to do with it. He seems to have food poisoning symptoms. I won't be buying this again and I feel it's a dangerous product. I got this dog food at the Walmart in East Gadsden, AL. So, buyers beware.

After switching from Purina, I bought Ol Roy Complete Nutrition for my dog. Now, he's pissing blood (kidney stones). My dog looks like he's in pain. Thanks to Ol Roy. Stay away from this brand and in fact, shut this company down. They are killing dogs. Anti dog! This product will kill your dog. ** you, Ol Roy ** you.

Just last weekend, we went to Wal-Mart to purchase our normal household supplies. Since we were there, we bought the Ol Roy Dog Treats. We got the box with the Corgi on it since we have a Corgi. Since then, our Corgi has been getting sick outside multiple times during the day and night. He has bad diarrhea. It's so hard to watch your little baby outside going 4 and 5 times at once and then running outside in 5 more minutes. I don't know what's in these treats but I will remember never to buy them again. After reading the reviews, I should have checked into them first before purchasing any project from this company. I feel very bad for all the people who have pets that died from eating this. They need to take this stuff off the market and do it now!

I purchased a box on a Thursday and fed this to my Fox Terrier/Jack Russel mix on Friday and Saturday. By Sunday, I could tell she wasn't feeling herself. On Monday, when I came home from work, she had peed in the house (which she never does) and was vomiting. She would also pee in her sleep. I took her to the vet on Tuesday, and they did blood work. They told me she probably ate something she shouldn't have and the peeing was just incontinence. I purchased a different dog food and within 2 day, she was back to her old self again. I think from reading all the reviews about this dog food, I feel lucky that she is still alive and looks like her kidneys have healed. It’s been 2 nights without a wet bed. Unfortunately, this $6 box of dog food has cost me $300 in bills. I’m just wondering why it is still on the market with so many issues.

We rescued a dog and took him to the vet. They did several tests on him: heartworm test, allergies, intestines, lungs, heart; everything checked normal and he was declared in good health. However, he would not eat the IMAS dog food or several others. So, while in Wal-Mart getting bird food and water, I noticed the O'Roy healthy meals. I thought it might be okay as it states chicken, carrots, peas, and chicken broth as ingredients. We gave it a chance and gave him one helping, but he only ate half; not much.

I started feeding this to my lab last summer. She suddenly started throwing up every time she ate; she lost 30 lbs. and ended up in acute kidney failure. I stopped feeding her Ol’ Roy dog food and started her on meat only. She is slowly making a comeback. Why isn't this food being recalled or tested? My lab is 11 years old and has never had any health problems until I feed her Ol’ Roy dog food and treats. I can promise you I will never feed this to her again.

My 7-year-old rat terrier/Jack Russell mix was in perfect health and suddenly started having seizures. I took her to the vet and they gave her medications for the seizures. She still continued to have seizures, developed incontinence and died within 2 weeks on 3-15-13. Today, my friend's 4-year-old lab suddenly developed seizures and vomiting. They were both being fed the same food and her vet told her it was the food causing the problems. I have read all the other complaints and am convinced that the food poisoned her to death. Why is no one doing anything to stop this? I just wish I would have known before she died, maybe I could have saved her.

We feed our dogs Ol Roy Complete Nutrition 50lb bag when finances dictate. We lost our Shih Tzu 2 years ago and didn't understand why she suddenly started vomiting, having loose stool, and urinating blood. She died. We thought she had come into contact with a wild animal or something. My Neapolitan Mastiff suddenly (4 days ago) became lethargic and refused to eat. I thought maybe an upset stomach and tried hand feeding her table food; my baby as greedy as she was spit out table food! She would only take bottled water. I thought she would get over it in a day or so. She died on day 3!

If I could give negative star numbers, I would! I had fed my 2 dogs Ol' Roy Complete Nutrition dog food in the red bag from Walmart for years. Over time, my older dog, a Boxer, began constantly leaking urine and having accidents in the house. We thought it odd as she had been a perfectly well behaved dog for several years before but stupidly did nothing to further check into this. These last few months, the Boxer lost extreme amounts of weight. She went from 70 lbs to just 48 lbs. We tried adding Ol' Roy canned food to her diet just to get her to eat something. She also was having diarrhea and drinking tons of water. The urine leakage became constant, leaving a trail everywhere she went and her bedding was soaked all the time.

My Shih Tzu was raised on Ol' Roy Kibbles, Chunks and Chews, but always hated the red and brown pieces. Well about 3 weeks ago, our baby girl (Shih Tzu) was throwing up and passing blood through her rectum. She had been eating nothing but the dog food. I hate to say our baby passed away and the vet told us that he saw nothing wrong with her, only diarrhea in the intestinal tract that he could see on the x-ray. We still have the dog food and our outside dog that will eat anything, still won't touch it. I will have it tested, but I wanted to give people a head's up!

I have been purchasing Ol' Roy Kibbles, Chunks & Chews Savory Beef & Chicken Flavors Dog Food for about 1 year due to my budget. My dogs seem to love the flavor of the food so I kept purchasing it. About 2 weeks ago, my Lab mix had the worst diarrhea with blood in it (he also would cry while trying to go) for 24 hours. I took him to the vet and had his stool tested for parasites (I thought he picked up something from a dog park). The vet called me back the next day saying all test came back negative. He bounced back and didn't have many issues.

I started giving my dog Ol' Roy (complete nutrition) 4 years ago. A few months after, he had his first seizure. From then on, he had seizures every 2 months. The vet said this was normal for poodles after age 3. One year ago, I decided to switch to a different Ol' Roy mix (crunchy bites & bones) because when he vomited, the red dye would stain the rug. He hasn't had a seizure since. I am concerned about the possible bad effects of the current Ol' Roy brand he's eating, but so far he seems okay.

I lost my two babies. I purchased them a bag of Ol' Roy Kibbles, Chunks and Chews on Friday, and by Thursday they were both dead. One was a black lab and the other a beagle. We found the beagle still alive and rushed her to the vet. She was in kidney failure and having seizures. I did a complaint with the FDA and also Ol' Roy. Ol' Roy tested the food and said it was fine. They will not send me the results of the test; they just said everything was within limits. The FDA needs more complaints for them to follow up on it.

I have been using Ol' Roy Dog Biscuits off and on for training and rewards for my Boxer and Puggle with no incidents. My Boxer is getting older now. She is 8 years old and very grey but still very active. Last night, my son was up late and heard scratching in her kennel. When he came downstairs, he found her lying in her cage seizing, foaming at the mouth. That is the first seizure she has had. I started researching the cause and found your site. She has been having loose stools lately, but I just wrote that off because she tends to have a sensitive stomach. Now that I have read all the stories on this site, I will definitely dispose of the Ol' Roy Biscuits and never purchase them again. I hope that my Boxer will not have another seizure. I am also going to contact my vet and let them know of the link I have found.

We have never used any other product by Ol’ Roy except these biscuits, and we have never seen an adverse reaction. Lately, we have been finding the tiny bugs all over the house, which is strange in Ohio in winter. Today, I went to get him a treat and the container is full of them. It looks like they ate their way out of the biscuits because they are full of holes. They went into the trash right away. I will find something better for my baby to have for a treat, and it won't be from Wal-mart.

I took my dog (1.5 year old) to the groomers one day and decided to pass the time at Walmart. I thought I'd get my dog a treat for suffering through a bath and came upon Ol Roy gravy mix. It was 95 cents and someone had told me it was one of the better brands to buy that wouldn't hurt my wallet. So when I got home with my dog, I opened the pack and mixed it with her regular dry food. She ate it all and the day went on like normal until about 9 at night. Every hour until about 3am, we were running outside because of her diarrhea. She would then go inside and shake and cry. Sadly, the diarrhea didn't end for 24 hours. She wouldn't eat or drink. It scared me to death. I called the number on the bag, but they never answered or called me back. I will never buy or recommend this to anyone.

Okay, my dog of 13 years ate some Ol Roy can dog food. Needless to say, kidney and liver and almost $1,000.00 later, my dog is still alive. Thank God. But no more of this. Caution! My poor baby! I love my dog too much!

We didn't realize how seriously sick our dog was until reading all of the posts. I wanted to share how we nursed our sick dog back to health. Our Golden Retriever started having seizures off and on about a year ago. When we can't get her normal brand or when our budget was tight, we bought Ol Roy dog food. About 5 days ago, our dog got really sick in the middle of the night and puked all over the house. She puked again the next night and the next morning was lethargic. I put her on a 24 fast to let her stomach rest. With that 24 hours, she had her 5th seizure. This one was the worst one she had. Her first meal after her fast was rice, pumpkin and chicken broth and put it through the blender. She ate it slowly. We fed her that 3 times the first day. The second day, I added cooked chicken and continued feeding her 3 times a day for the next 2 days.

I had my dog on Ol' Roy a few months ago. She had a stroke and it took a couple of weeks until she was normal again. We didn't think anything of the food possibly being the culprit. Once that bag was finished, we purchased the same brand we had been using before we had switched to Ol' Roy. We had run out of that. While I was shopping at Walmart yesterday, I just grabbed another bag of Ol' Roy to save myself another stop to get our usual brand since I have a 2 year old and a 2 month old I have to get in and out of the car.

Ole Roy Pure Balance - My dogs have lost weight and continue with diarrhea. Unless you look close at the bag, you don't realize that Ol’ Roy makes this. I am having my dogs tested for damage.

My mother-in-law purchased a bag of the Ol' Roy Bacon Treats (not exactly sure the exact name because she has already disposed of the treats) a few days ago. Our one dog would not eat the treats at all - thank goodness. Our 2nd Husky, however, was eating them before going to bed in the evening as a treat after dinner. He would awake in the middle of the night a couple of hours after eating the treats to vomit (this happened 2 nights). I am a veterinary technician, so we went through everything he had been getting and found that these were the only changes to his diet. As soon as we stopped giving the treats, the vomiting discontinued. As we did not have the treats tested, I cannot say without a doubt that is what was causing the vomiting but I am pretty confident. I would advise other owners who are giving their dogs these treats to monitor their pets very carefully.

Our Great Dane lab mix dog has been eating Ol’ Roy dog food for three weeks now. We have been noticing him getting unusually skinny and he has had diarrhea and just tonight, had been vomiting. I just saw everyone’s review on the food and immediately stopped him from eating it. I hope we aren't too late. We are going out to buy him real food in the morning. I felt so bad. I gave him some of our leftover dinner - rice and steak. Anything else we can do to help? We already lost one child this week due to a miscarriage we don't want to lose another. Wal-Mart needs to be sued for selling this food.

I think I am one of the lucky and observant dog owners. I tried the new no-grain dog food by this company but I was mixing it with the better, more expensive food to transition my dog. I noticed after a couple of days, my dog’s stomach was making a lot of noise and he was lying around. I told my husband that I thought the dog food was making him sick and not to feed it to him. I got him new food, Purina One, and he is back to his old self again. We threw the other stuff out. Now I am reading all of this. *

I bought the Ol Roy Bark and Bacon dog treats for my dogs on an early Thursday morning. The dogs were fine on Thursday and Friday. My one dog ate more of the treats than the other. By Saturday morning, he was throwing up. I didn't know what was wrong. By Sunday, he was very lethargic and would not eat. I had to pick him up to go to the bathroom. By Monday, he could not lift his head. I rushed him to the vet where they did numerous tests. They ruled out everything else and discovered he had kidney infection. All his tests came back negative and he was perfectly healthy except for this kidney infection. I went online about these treats and see that many people had problems with this Ol Roy dog food. I believe this is what made him sick. Luckily, he did not go into kidney failure and the doctor believes he will survive.

I believe Ol Roy dog food just killed 2 of my dogs. I bought a 50lb bag of the complete nutrition from the Highland, CA Walmart on Sunday. I had it to my dogs for the first time last night and now they are both dead. My 4-year-old Akita ate all of her food and she passed when I got home today. My 13-year-old lab didn't eat much and he was clinging to life. They are both now gone. No poison or unusual things in the yard. I have the bag and will be getting it tested. Please don't buy this product and I hope Ol Roy and Walmart get their lawyers ready!

I bought Ol' Roy Soft & Moist & fed it to all 3 of my dogs & every one of them was vomiting it up. I will never buy Ol' Roy again.

I bought Ol Roy 50lb bags of dog food. So far, it has killed 2 of our dogs (before we figured out what was killing them). Now we have a third dog who has been sick and is dying. This is outrageous. They aren't just dogs, but our family members. I was there when the mom gave birth and I helped nurse them when she didn't have enough milk. Now my babies are dead and dying, just like all the others on here (after reading on here and seeing someone else had a cat died). My cat has been sickly for a while. I just thought she had something, but I have taken her off the Walmart food and she is somewhat better I hope.

I found maggots in my cabinets. Luckily, they were dead and I couldn't figure out where they were coming from, so we did the bleaching and "Lysoling" and scrubbing out of one cabinet where I found them at. This was last month. Today, I went to give my dog a treat and the whole bag was covered with maggots. Well... I found the source of the problems! Now I have to throw everything out as I have 4 birds here and a cat. I am so sick to my stomach. I will be filing a bbb.org claim, and, yes, please let me know about the lawsuit too. I normally do not feed this stuff. I was given this treat sealed. I am so disgusted. OMG! All open food now has to be tossed! Thanks, Walmart!

Ol’ Roy killed two of my dogs. I am very angry. It was just like the rest of the reviews. They died very quickly and with the same symptoms. Please contact me at ** if you would like to make a complaint. I would like to file a lawsuit.

I bought the red bag of Ol Roy. All 3 of my dogs now have diarrhea. I hope they don't die. I will never buy this or any dry dog food ever again. Fresh cooked meals from now on. It's sad to read of all the dogs that died.

I lost 5 dogs and 1 cat! My husband brought home a bag of Ol Roy complete nutrition, in the red bag (UPC 05388 02287). Within a week, my fur babies started dying! Symptoms were thick foam vomit; purple skin color on belly; body/legs got stiff; at first, extreme thirst; blood for stool and then watery blood leaked out without them even realizing it. They got to where they wouldn't even blink! Vet care did nothing! With the cat, I went to pick her up and she was as if she was paralyzed all over. No blinking. Right before death, they appeared to have a seizure. To say I am devastated is an understatement. I want this crap taken off the shelves now!

I just recently went to Wal-Mart to buy Purina Dog Chow, and they were out. So, I looked at the 50lb bag Of Old Roy Complete Nutrition that said compare to Purina Dog Chow and bought it. I fed her (my 2-year-old German Shepherd) the Old Roy, and she ate it very good for a few days, and all seemed to be well. I went into her kennel on a Wednesday, and she had vomited all of the food up. I brought her in the house. She then drank massive amounts of water (2 or more gallons a day). The vomiting continued, and she would not eat anything.

We got Ol' Roy dog food for my dog because our local Wal-Mart was out of the standard Purina. He immediately started vomiting and having diarrhea. We thought it was just a result of switching food and switched back, but within a week, he was dead. The vet said it was kidney failure, but he was in perfect health not [more than] 3 months ago at his last checkup. Has anyone heard of any type of recall or recent lawsuit? I heard there were some issues with Ol' Roy a few years ago that caused pet deaths.

So I went to the store last night and bought my puppy some of this Ol' Roy Gourmet food for dogs. Since my puppy ate it, she has been throwing up. And now, she will not eat or drink anything. She is not playful and is very lethargic. I have only had my puppy 3 weeks. I am very scared for her that she may die after reading all the complaints on here.

I have been feeding my dogs Ol' Roy for years and have not had a problem till now. One of my dogs had a mishap with fire ants last week, but was pulling through that quite nicely. I usually go through a 50-pound bag of food a week with my 8 dogs and noticed that the current bag wasn't moving that fast. The dog that was attacked by ants started acting lethargic and the other dogs weren't eating. First, I thought he got into ants again or something. I was babying him and treating him with Benadryl. He was acting like most of the other dogs I have been reading about here. He passed away last night, and now all of the other dogs have diarrhea and are vomiting. I have immediately pulled up any food that was down (this is not a usual at my house) and cleaned the bowls. It must be the food. No recalls have been made yet, and after reading all this, I have no idea why. I work for the company that markets this food, and I will be contacting as high up as I can to get them to look into this. I am so distraught at the moment.

My Chihuahua was 10 years old and seemed to be having trouble eating hard dog food. Other than that, she was very active and seemed to be quite healthy. I decided to buy her Ol' Roy Soft & Moist dog food, and she seemed to like it and ate with no problems. The next day after work, my 5 year old son and I found her dead in the backyard. Of course, we were hysterical and very distraught. After reading these complaints, could it have been the dog food? What steps do I take now? RIP sweet Jinksie.

Ol Roy Healthy Mix Original (dry) - I have been buying Ol Roy for awhile and never run into any issues, until this last bag. I am having the same problems as most of these other folks. My dog became lethargic and got severe diarrhea and vomiting. Now she won't touch the food. The problems stopped the day after she began refusing the food, so I'm pretty sure there's a correlation there. She'll eat other food just fine and is feeling much better, now that she's off the Ol Roy.

I have bought this product for my dog, and she was ill right after eating it. She vomited several times, had diarrhea, and then was lethargic most of the day. I will make a complaint at the local Walmart where I bought it!

Recently, I purchased 2 boxes of Ol’ Roy soft & moist, beef & cheese flavor, 12 individual servings pouches. Well, when I opened the boxes, they only had 8 pouches in the sealed boxes. Both boxes were that way, which is really unusual! I was very disappointed. I purchased both boxes from walmart.com last week. Ol Roy High Performance - I have fed this dog food for years. I have hunting dogs; Staghounds, Jagdterriers, and Patterdale Terriers. I noticed the last bag I bought (a 20 pound bag) was darker in color than usual, but fed it thinking it was just me since I have just been in an auto accident and have been getting over a concussion. Our store in Siloam Springs was out of the 50 lb. bags so I grabbed a 20 lb. bag to get me through the night. The next bag was lighter in color and was the usual 50 lb. bag I have always bought.

I have fed my dog, Tank, Ol' Roy Soft and Moist Beef and Cheese flavor every evening for years. On Thursday, September 13, 2012 at about 6 pm, I bought 2 boxes of the food. I came home and fed him around 7 pm. His one packet of food for dinner and one hour later, he had a massive seizure and died. He was 9 years old and had previously (2 weeks) received a clean bill of health from his vet. This was a brand new box of food and had never been opened. I am worried that this food needs to be recalled because I would hate for any other dog owner to experience a traumatic experience like this if there was a problem with the food.

I have fed our dogs the high performance version of Ol Roy dog food (Wal-Mart's own brand) for several years. We are unfortunately on a very tight budget, and of the cheaper brands, this one seemed to have somewhat better ingredients and protein levels. We purchased a large bag in the beginning of August, as usual. For a few days, I didn't really realize how "off" the dogs were until I observed (stepped in, more like) ample evidence that all three of them had the squirts. They are up to date on their shots, and they didn't seem otherwise ill, if kind of low-energy. I looked around to see if they could have found something toxic to eat, but I found no such issues inside or out.

My husband had bought a bag of Ol Roy Pet Foods, the 40 pound bag of meaty chunks and gravy back in February for my older dog. She had passed away. We didn't think it was the dog food until today, my 1 year old pom had eaten the food since we had run out of his regular dog food. Same symptoms as my older dog - vomiting, not eating or drinking and could hardly stand well. Needless to say, my little 1 year old pom died today. Something has to be done. These two pets were our family and know they are no longer with us, but Ol Roy is still out on the shelves. Action has to be taken.

I bought my puppy Ol Roy because I figured a bigger bag for a better price was a win-win situation. So, I took him off of Purina Puppy Chow and bought the red bag of Ol Roy. I fed it to him when we first bought it and instantly, his entire mood changed. He became less respondent, started having the runs, his bladder had weakened, and he started throwing up all the water he had consumed. I didn't feed him for three days. Though it sounds harsh, it's the only way his stomach would flush out naturally. I put him back on Purina and he was much better and more active. He would let us know when he had to go outside and the runs stop.

Wrong size biscuit - I purchase a 4.7lbs box ($4.78 + tax) of Ol' Roy multi-flavored biscuits (small/medium) from the Walmart store. The actual size of the biscuits are smaller than what is pictured as the actual size. My K-9 crew (4 Shih Tzu, 2 male and 2 female) love the biscuits.

I switched to the Ol’ Roy dog food (the 55-pound bag). Since I switched, my husky has been sick with the runs. After 3 days, he became violently sick vomiting (foamy, foul-smelling and nasty color) and he wouldn't move or drink. We rushed him to the emergency vet. They ran every test possibly, couldn't come with an answer and basically told us to be prepared to lose my dog. The nurse asked me what kind of food we gave him and said that this brand had recalls before. They pumped my dog full of fluids and antibiotics. We took him home hoping he would get better. We gave him tons of water; he came through it and is getting a little better every day. This vet visit because of your brand of dog food cost me $647 and almost my dog’s life. For anyone, I ask you to please not give your dog any of their dog brand products.

Someone gave us a few cans of Ol Roy. We gave one to our dog which he loved. He seems fine a few hours later. After reading this site, I threw out the rest. I hope this doesn't kill my dog.

I purchased a medium ($11) bag of Kibbles and Chews. I have eleven shih tzus and they all enjoy this dog food, especially the white chewy bits. This, in particular, had absolutely no chewy bits at all. This is upsetting to me because I know my dogs enjoy these bites the most. They will dig out the entire bowl to get to these pieces first. So this upsets me that they will go over a week without their favorite part of their meals. I am very disappointed that they basically will suffer by going without something they love for over a week. I am disabled and a widow with teenagers, so I cannot afford to go out and get another bag.

I gave my dog Ol' Roy Healthy Mix dog food at 6:00 pm on 7/19/2012. On the morning of 7/20/2012, my dog had seizures so I took him to the vet. They gave him an IV and placed him on human phenobarbital. My dog is just one-year old and I never had any problems with him before as I always use science diet. I was at Walmart last time and since they do not carry science diet, I decided to pick up Ol' Roy Healthy Mix. I then realized that it was the reason why my dog had seizures. The next morning, I changed his food back to Science Diet. I did not give him any medicines and he has been fine. So if you love your dog, please do not give him/her Ol' Roy dog food.

I gave my dogs Ol Roy since the brand I usually buy was out and in the middle of the night, the puppy had severe diarrhea. The next day, my older puppy started throwing up and by the next morning, my older puppy was violently throwing up and unable to move and it look like he had a seizure and passed. He would have been 3 next month. I was able to get the younger puppy into the vet and started her on antibiotics and so far, she is good.

We tried a new dog food, Ol' Roy Moist & Meaty. I gave my dog half the packet, and he inhaled it. Later that evening, I fed him the rest of the packet, which he devoured. In the middle of the night, we discovered he had been vomiting. All that next day, he became completely lethargic, vomiting in place, diarrhea without even moving - just where he lay. He couldn't lift his head, wouldn't drink water, or even become enticed with a treat. Thinking perhaps his body was just not used to a new dog food, we waited.

I bought a bag of Ol' Roy Dog Food to save money over the cost of Purina Puppy Chow and it was the biggest mistake of my life. I fed it to my Lab puppies and 4 out of 6 died within days. Not an easy death, suffering, throwing up, bloody bowel movements and the lack of ability to eat, drink or move. I will forever feel guilty for making the mistake of feeding my puppies this food. When I talked to the company, they told me that the food tested good but had grass, pencil shavings and weeds in it. When I told them that it had to have been in it when I bought it, they told me that it was not their responsibility but Walmart's. I called Walmart and they said it is not their responsibility and that they are sorry for my loss! What is wrong with these people? These puppies are my babies. I am angry!

Thinking I was getting a bargain, I recently bought a 10lbs box of Ol Roy multi-flavored dog biscuits at Walmart. I gave our Chesapeake Bay Retriever two in the evening. That night, she was not acting like herself. I got up with her in the middle of the night and she was lying with her feet and tail tucked tightly under her. Her body was trembling like exaggerated shivering. She seemed okay the next day, but this seemed like a warning sign that perhaps these dog bones made her sick. They didn't look or smell abnormal in any way, but after reading all these reviews, I am throwing the bones out.

My sister gave me and my husband Ol' Roy Meaty Loaf the 22 oz. can for our two welsh corgis and one of them has passed due to a truck. The other is puking and has been since he had just a little bit of the food and it’s all foamy. I do not like seeing my dog like this and I will make sure that the word is passed around to never buy this brand again. He is one of my children and I do not stand for my children to be hurt.

I gave the dog food to my dogs outside. I have 5 big dogs and I only gave them this kind of dog food and it made all 5 of them sick. I don’t know what happened. I gave them the gravy kind and it didn’t make them sick. The only reason I gave them this kind is because the store I got the other kind was because they were out of the kind I bought them. So, I would like to know if you will refund my money and replace 44 pounds I got. I got 5 of them. I always buy 5 of the gravy kind. But like I said, they were out of that kind so I had to buy 5 of the other kind. I paid $21.98 for them and all of it came to $115.90 that is with tax and all. So, can you replace them and refund my money?

My 6 dogs got very sick after eating from 2 different 40 to 50 pound bags of Ol' Roy Dog Food. Luckily, we figured out it was the dog food and took it and put it in a dumpster in town. Any chance of getting refunded? I don't want a lawsuit. I just would like a refund.

I hadn't had any problems with Ol' Roy (Mini Chunks with gravy) until the last 12-pack. My male Chi acted drunk, was unable to walk, navigate and then had a seizure. My female was vomiting severely and she is a new momma. I don't know what the hell is going on but they aren't getting anymore of Ol' Roy.

Quality of dog food - I bought a bag of Kibbles 'n Bits Ol Roy dog food because my little older dog likes the white and soft dog food in that bag. All I got were red chunks and maybe 15 white ones.

I switched from Beggin Strips to Old Roy bacon strips. Within weeks, my Shih Tzu started vomiting and died. My Cocker Spaniel died 20 days later. She too began by vomiting. She had a vet appointment later in the day and died before I could get her to the vet. I don't know for certain that the Old Roy strips caused the death, but that was the only change in their diet and lives in many years. We miss them severely.

I bought a 40 lb. bag of Kibbles Chunks and Chews from Wal-Mart in April. I fed it to my 112 lb. Rottweiler. He seemed to be okay at first, then he started with serious diarrhea and a few days later, he seemed lethargic, started vomiting a clear phlegm, wouldn't eat anything, not even steak. We took him to the vet but he seemed to be getting better, then started vomiting again. I changed his dog food to Pedigree and gave the remainder of the bag to my sister-in-law for her dogs. I received a call tonight telling me that both of her dogs were vomiting. Please do not feed your dog Ol Roy dog food. After reading these reviews, my heart sank. I would be heartbroken and very angry if I lost my dog. I will never feed this to my dog again!

I had just brought home a 20 pound bag of Ol Roy dog food for my 2 dogs and left for work. The next morning, my husband said when he went to feed them, he put the cup in and when he brought it out. It was full of ants. He found table scraps to feed them that night. Upon further inspection of the bag, we discovered that the entire bag was ant-infested and no, I do not have an ant problem in my house. This was a new sealed bag.

I bought Ol’ Roy from Wal-Mart in Jacksonville, NC. My 2 dogs ate it and I had to take one to the emergency vet because he was throwing up and had severe diarrhea and could not walk. Now, my other one is doing the same thing. They need to step up to the plate and take it off the shelves before more dogs are harmed by this bad food. These dogs are my family, not just pets.

I bought a 50-pound bag of Ol' Roy High Performance dog food on April 16, 2012 and fed all six of my dogs their weight appropriate amount of dog food that night. I had just finish off a bag of Ol' Roy and so was feeding a small amount of the previous bag with the new bag of Ol' Roy. The next morning my 9-month-old Carolina dog mix had explosive diarrhea in his crate. Once let out into the yard, he vomited and had watery diarrhea shoot out of his butt. I cleaned him and his crate up and let the other dogs out and watched them eliminate. All had solid excrement, but it was tinged with a small amount of bright red blood. Since I had to work that day, I left my 9-month-old pup out in the yard all day thinking it was just something he had eaten and it would pass.

A friend made the mistake and bought the wrong dog food. She bought Ol’ Roy dry food. I noticed both of my dogs were both vomiting. I could not get them to drink water or eat their regular dog food. I am watching them now to see if I can make my pets better. This stuff needs to be stopped. Our pets are important to us! How dare you not make this right with these families? Better yet, how can you make it right? The poor animals are suffering!

I just got a female English bulldog about 2 weeks ago. I had got her from a friend who found her. She is an older dog, but I wanted to breed her with my 2-year old male bulldog. After a week, she started gasping and vomiting; then my male started. The only thing that has changed was the food that has recently been bought: Ol’ Roy dry dog food! I have tears from watching them suffer. It’s killing me—and the vet isn't open. I really hope this business gets shut down due to their lack of humanity that they are making pets endure! I have a very healthy 8-year old German Short-haired Pointer. She spent many years in the Arizona desert and though she has always had an unending bowl of food, she ate some really horrible things she found while exploring the desert. You all know how dogs are, if it smells horrible, they want to sniff it, eat it, roll in it. She indulged too frequently, so my dog can handle some bad stuff. So I was visiting my parents who had just bought a new bag of dog food (Ol Roy). They have two dogs and during my visit, one of their dogs became very sick. They figured their 11-year old Weimaraner was reacting to an allergy from the food, though this was unusual. They decided not to feed the new food to their dogs and were going to throw it away. l, being a broke college student living on a budget, requested that I take the food for my dog. They were apprehensive, as they thought there might be something wrong with the food. I insisted, reminding them that my dog had encountered much worse things and they agreed and gave me the food (instead of throwing away 50lbs of food).

Ol Roy Healthy Mix Weight Management is a killer! My Olde English Bulldogge had massive diarrhea from this dog food! It's a good thing that I keep a very close eye on my dogs or he would have died from dehydration! This is not only a $1500 dog but he is my buddy and part of my family! This dog food should be recalled and Ol Roy needs to be shut down! They are terrible!

I bought a bag of Complete Nutrition (44.1 lb.) dry dog food. 2 of the 3 dogs I have kept throwing up. When I got to the last 1/3 of the bag, I found mold all over it. I could not feed my dog after work last night and I am out 1/3 bag of food.

I bought my dog Ol' Roy Tiny Special T's on March 1st 2012. I would give her a couple every so often. I didn't think anything of it till we started tying everything together. She is normally a hyperactive 2-year old, can run and run and have so much energy. She started losing her energy over the last couple times I gave her some of the treats. You look in the bag and sniff, it doesn't smell right. She has become lethargic and has managed to have diarrhea every time, shortly after these treats. I refuse to give her anymore. I will never buy Ol' Roy products again and I will always check the labels and see what ingredients they are putting in the food and her treats. These tiny T's contain Propylene Glycol 6 ingredients in. That stuff is used in antifreeze! Please I beg you, if you love your pets, stay away from Ol' Roy products and check the labels. I don't want to lose her and I know you don't want to lose your pets either.

I bought a bag of dog food and when I went to open it, it was wet and molded and this is the second time it has happened to me. My dog loves Ol' Roy too and they will not eat anything but Ol' Roy, so if I have go to a new brand I don't know what I'm going to do. We love your dog food, but if we keep getting bad dog food, we aren't buying anymore and it's always the bags we buy.

Ol Roy Healthy Mix Weight Management is a killer. We had a very lucky escape with our four-year old golden retriever. After one serving, he began vomiting and had relentless diarrhea. Come to learn the packaging's and hence the food are heavily contaminated with waste and moisture contamination. Antibiotics made for a full recovery but a slow painful death would have ensued if not for our quick actions and a 94mph rush (I kid you not) to our local Petco animal hospital.

I opened a tub of Porterhouse steak for my dog and it had a live slug in it. That is so nasty. You pay enough for this stuff you would think it would be better than that. I am so mad!

My 5-year old pit-bull mix Toolie almost died. I fed him Ol’ Roy Kibble Chunks & Chews. I bought a 40-pound bag at Wal-Mart in Lanoka Harbor, New Jersey on 2-2-12. My dog Toolie started looking like he was drunk and very off balance. He’s very tired and throwing up. He is not eating and not drinking any water. I took Toolie to the vet who told me to take him to a specialist. Now, I am not giving him any food or treats from any Wal-Mart products ever again. And if you love your pets, you won’t feed them any Wal-Mart and Ol’ Roy products. They’re trying to kill your pets. Thank you.

On January 24th, 2012, I purchased a 44.1 pound bag of Ol' Roy dry dog food for my 11 month old dog, Scrappy. After about 2 1/2, weeks my dog started acting a little out of the ordinary, but I didn't think too much of it. He was more sleepy than normal, and he didn't like leaving my side, and normally he was an energetic very healthy 70 lb 11 month old puppy, and out of the blue, on the afternoon of February 25th, 2012, almost exactly 1 month later, my dog passed away, and I had no idea why, until I started looking up this dog food, and all of the recalls on it. Please do not feed this product to the wonderful members of your family, because that's who Scrappy was to us. He was like our son. He will be missed very much. I bought a bag of Kibbles, Chunks, and Chews 40 lb. and a Complete Nutrition Dog 40 lb. I fed my 3 labs. Shortly after Sully started acting funny, staggering and he had problems with balance. He acted drunk and refused to eat or drink; then he started having trouble breathing. At first I just observed his condition. I was concerned but I didn't realize it was that serious. About 3 am I realized it was very serious when he couldn't stand. I started looking for an emergency vet that was open and then realized it was going to be too late. He died very quietly but was a healthy 5-year old dog. These products need either better quality control or need to be pulled of the market.

I noticed our pure bred Doberman started having soft stool then diarrhea. About 1/2 way through the bag of Ole Roy Complete Nutrition, I found a huge chunk of food that was covered in green mold!! Photos available.

I have been feeding our 12-year-old Chihuahua this food for 3 years with no problem. She's been healthy and active. I bought a new box of Ol’ Roy Moist and Meaty and she began not wanting to eat, leaving her food untouched. She'd go back and pick at it, but began begging us for scraps, something she'd hadn’t done in a long time. Now in mid-January 2012, she started losing her bladder and having bad breath. She also started coughing. We thought it was because she’s old and thinking we need to prepare for the inevitable. Two days ago she started not wanting to eat at all. She had a wobbling gait and would not get out of her bed. I took her to the vet and she put her on treatments for dehydration and bladder and kidney infections. I'm looking at her lying in her bed watching me with listless eyes as I type. We thought it was because she's old. Now I read all these complaints and wonder, what are these companies feeding our beloved pets? Why would these "trusted" companies do this? Are there no inspections? Or is someone turning a "blind eye" to these dastardly deeds? Will no one stand and do something about this? But then I wonder, with the way humans are being treated around the world, why would a company care, except to make money and keep its stocks in the green and going up.

I am writing in regards to a mold problem in the OL Roy food I bought. We purchased 4 44.1 bags of OL Roy complete nutrition and got nearly half way down the bag and there was mold in the food bags! Of all 4 bags, 3 of the bags contained mold in the food bags. I do not know if it is Wal-Mart to blame for this or the manufacturing company but it is very disgusting and needs to be addressed! I threw the food away, completely disgusted and very upset having to throw money away like that! However, I did write down some info from one of the bags and they are as follows:

I purchased a bag of Ol Roy Meaty Chunks and Gravy form Orillia Wal-Mart. I fed my dog for all of almost three weeks and during this time period my dog became quite ill, vomiting daily and having diarrhea severely. He is used to this food as we use it all the time. He has lost weight also. I made a veterinarian appointment and found that in the dog food bag when I went to scoop some into his dish one that it was full of blue mold. This mold was only from about 3/4 down inside the bag. I am so very dissatisfied with this product I not only have to pay a vet bill and medication bills for my dog, I also have to bring him back to a proper weight where his bones no longer show. I have contacted the purchase place and they are not even able to give me a contact number to your company. I am, however, taking this product to the store to show them and hopefully get reimbursed, not that $20 can even touch what the product has done. A phone call back would be the least someone could do.

I purchased a 40lb bag of Ol' Roy and it has made my dog sick. I purchased the Meaty Chunks and Gravy, it is the correct product. But even having made my dog sick, because the bag is opened, Wal-Mart will not take it back and give me a new bag. The bag info is “Buy by 1/3/13”, 16 5 201D10RA3 10 25”.

We adopted our sweet collie-mix one year ago. Normally, I fed him chicken breasts and other meat daily as the main part of his diet. So it was not the norm when I fed him Cuts in Gravy Country Stew from Walmart in Bluffton, Indiana. My cat, who also ate some of it, started vomiting and when we took her to the vet, she was in renal failure.She received a shot of Convenia, a long-acting antibiotic, which did work a miracle for her.

I bought a container of Ol' Roy Wet Dog Food. I only gave my dog half the container and when I went to open the other half, it had mold all over it. There were like 3 big, white fuzzy spots of mold, good thing I caught it before I put it in my dog's bowl or he would of gotten sick.

We bought a 10 lbs. Box of Ol' Roy dog treats multi-flavored biscuits at Walmart and when I looked in the box, I found a black biscuit. This upset me because if I would have given it to my dog, it may have made him sick, or, it could have killed him. I do still have this black biscuit. I wanted to let you know.

The bag of dog food I bought just last week has maggots. I'm not very pleased about this because if something happens to my dog, someone will pay the price. My dog is like my kid.

I bought a bag of Ol Roy dog food and it has mold in it. l was so angry to find this in there. I have bought this dog food for my dogs and have never found nothing like this. It smells really bad. Here is the number to the bag, #88 and the expiration date JAN-05-13. So l knew l bought it before the expiration date. It was bought on JAN-28-2012.

I purchased an 18 kg. bag of the chunks and gravy. When I got home, it wasn’t the right product. It was the Complete Nutrition, red bag. I tried to return it to Wal-Mart and they refused to take it back because it was opened. Then, to make matters worse, the associate from the pet department was helping me bring it out to my car and dropped it and wasted more than half on the parking lot. I went back into the store, very angry and they still refused to replace the product and advised me to contact you. The UPC code is 0538898606, and the best before date is Jan. 3/2013. My dog just loves the squeezy packages of Ol Roy, so I decided to try the containers. He turned his nose up at it. When my husband tried to give him one, he noticed the lids were not fully intact and they were starting to mold. I will continue to feed him the squeezy packages, but will never buy the other. It may have been just a production problem at the time, so I am sending you the lot number for your reference in case you need to make a recall: Meaty Chunks in Gravy (zarnwm lrbvqjx a); 5.5 oz; best by January 14, 2013.

Horrible, horrible excuse for dog food. But guess what? Horrible decision on the owner's part. What do you think? You're just going to buy the cheapest food and expect great results? Try feeding your human child ramen noodles for the rest of their life and see what comes of it! You are to blame! You. You caused your dogs' death or sickness for being so cheap! I get it, it's a bad time for all of us but if that's the case, then don't own an animal. I, myself, have a 100% pure breed Siberian Husky and would never even think to buy her such food. I'm a realist. So if something is cheap in price, I just don't buy it because cheap in price means cheap in quality (sorry! That's the way it is).

I bought two six packs of the Ol Roy 13.2 oz. can dog food and there were at least four cans of the 12 that had dents and causing the top to be open. I refused to feed my pets any dog food that are opened! I would appreciate some kind of repayment somehow. You wouldn't eat any type of can food that was opened. And since they were wrapped, I didn't notice the dents and openings until I got the cans out.

In July of 2011 our dog refused to eat any of the Ol Roy food she has been raised on. She had a high fever and would vomit whenever she ate the food. She lost weight and muscle mass. The vet thought maybe cancer of stomach. After trying different dog food and steroids, she regained her weight and looked fine again. Ol Roy sent us free coupons which we used. And 3 months later, after she was back on Ol Roy, the same reactions occurred (vomiting and loss of weight). Ol Roy checked the bag we sent them back and said it was fine. The next time we went to get Ol Roy, the bag and formula had changed since our contact with Ol Roy. Hmm. The vet has no answers and we are back on the same path using another brand of food. Is anyone else having similar problems with Ol Roy Complete Nutrition?

I currently have 8 dogs (7 are mine and one that is my son's) and I have been feeding them Ol' Roy's version of kibbles and bits for more than 3 years. I have never had any problems with the food. I did have to buy the real Kibble and Bits once and none of the 8 would eat it. I finally had to get more of the Ol' Roy and mix the two foods.

We use Ol' Roy canned dog food all the time. Walmart was out of the multi-pack cans so I had to get meatloaf and that was all that was available. I opened the first can on 12-30 and the poodle has been sick ever since. Something was wrong with that food. I'm probably going to have to take the dog to vet as he is getting worse and had to go outside every 1 1/2 hour last night. Our dog will die. He is only a six to seven-pound dog.

The entire month of December, I have given my 2 dogs the Ol Roy cans of cuts in gravy "Savory Chicken Dinner" (U.P. code 8113170379, best by 10-14-14, number 1287BC G1WDC1019). My large dog had started with extreme gas which led to soft stools then to diarrhea for about three weeks on and off. It would go off only if I fed him the food with one cup of rice. Then last night, he started vomiting excessively (approx. 800cc or more times 3). I did not know a dog could vomit that much. I had to rush him to the vet, an emergency visit of course. He was diagnosed with colitis and intestinal gastritis.

I have 4 dogs, and they all got sick from eating Ol Roy dog food I bought from Wal-Mart in Hurricane, Utah. I have been buying this same brand of dog food for over a year, but this batch made them very sick. The day I changed their food, they were fine.

My dog is a very outgoing and well behaved dog. She is a 7th Champion Bloodline American Pit bull. My husband and I grabbed a 20 lb. bag of the Ol Roy complete nutrition with the green label "Compare to Purina Dog Chow". My dog’s stomach has been making crazy noises. She is very lazy after only 2 days of eating this food. I only noticed her change in personality and being non-responsive because I found a huge chunk of molded clump up food. Ol Roy will be held accountable for this. She is going to the vet tomorrow and if I lose my child over a money hungry careless company, I promise they will regret allowing this food on any shelf. Legal actions will be taken.

My dogs are sick and dying from Ol Roy Dog food. Walmart should be ashamed for selling such nasty dog food. I want to know where this dog food is made. Who makes it?

My dog became very ill after eating Ol Roy dog food for about a week's time. He began to vomit and diarrhea uncontrollably and was hospitalized for many days. He had lost more than 11 pounds in less than the week's time that he was consuming this food. He had to have surgery as well as pushing fluids through and many other treatments to save my poor baby and so young and close to the holidays! He had ulcers as well as internal bleeding and blockage in his small intestine caused from the horrible bacteria in the dog food! He was over viewed by 3 vets as well as a Cornell specialist and all were linked to the dog food!

I have hounds for hunting and this year I had two died after hunting season for no reason. My four year old died on Oct and my two year old on Dec 17. They died in their dog house. They will be missed very much. If it Ol Roy dog food's fault then they should be accountable for their food.

If I could rate this food any lower, I would. My beloved pup (just turned one year on Oct. 31, 2011) is now staying at the vet’s office being pumped full of fluids and anti-biotic because of this food. She was bleeding out of her bum, drinking a ton of water, urinating like crazy, vomiting and refusing all food. She became very lethargic and her eyes got very runny. She was tested for Parvo (which scared me because we have two other dogs) and that came back negative. She will be picked up this afternoon pending her response to treatment. Please, please do not feed this to your dogs!

Pathetic dog food! Okay, I posted a week ago that my dog was sick and I think it was the dog food. Well my dog is dead now! He died Dec 14th. I am so devastated! These people need to be held accountable for their actions! Someone needs to be sued!

Our Cane Corso Pedigree Mastiff recently passed away from a pancreatic tumor. After reading this blog, I can’t help but wonder if what I was feeding him to help him live actually contributed to his death! Take it off the market! He was only 6 years old and it will be a lonely Christmas without him.

Their rate is really negative 0. We have fed our Akita a pedigree dog food for years and he was a show Dog, always very healthy pedigree who retired 1 month ago. A friend bought us a 40 lb. bag of Ol'Roy red bag. We don't buy that type of food for our dog. One and a half weeks ago, we ran out of pedigree so I fed the Ol'Roy to him. He didn't want it but ate it. That night, he threw up and had diarrhea. A couple of days later, he started drinking lots of water. His pee smelled like dead fish. Then he started peeing blood. To make a long story short, he lost control of his back legs. Then in the morning of 11-30-2011, when we woke up, we found him lying on the kitchen floor dead! Then we discovered that Ol'Roy dog food has been killing pets across the country.

I have been feeding my 9-year old German Shepard the Ol Roy gravy dry dog food. He is currently sick. Hasn't eaten anything even though I have changed the food to something different. He is drinking a lot of water and urinating a lot. He is also breathing heavy, kind of a growl breathing. I'm waiting to take him to the vet on Thursday. That is when his appointment is. I love my dog very much and I will sue if my dog dies because of this brand of dog food. Even my little puppy won't eat it.

Regarding Ol' Roy Dog Food Complete Nutrition, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this dog food. In many of the complaints I have read against this food many of the people stated that it was the food that made their dog sick. I feed this food to all 4 of my dogs. They range in size from 4 lbs to 140 lbs. and I have never once had a single problem with this food. Any person who has had dogs knows that switching foods takes time, that you cannot just give a dog or any pet a different food overnight and not expect a reaction, such as loose bowels or vomiting. Would you give a baby who has never had solid foods loaded nachos from Taco Bell and not expect explosive diapers?! I think not!

It's the Ol' Roy dog food from Walmart Kingston, Ontario; my dog suffered puking and diarrhea and blood in her stool. This has happened to others in the past.

I can't go any lower than 1 but if I could it would be -5. Many years ago, I fed a dog Ol' Roy dog food and he got sick but we never figured out what caused it. I now know. Two weeks ago, we got a new mixed puppy and got him Ol' Roy Pigz'n Blankets dog treats. Fed him only about four of them and within 24 hours he started puking and having diarrhea all over. He would not eat so we contacted the shelter we got him from and they suggested no food or water to get his belly settled. We did this and they even gave him fluids to keep him hydrated.

No star here. I have been buying Ol' Roy 40 lbs. red bag dog food for years. This is the only kind Rosie, a 7 years old dobie, eats. She got a bad body odor. Her breath had a bad odor. Her right eye was watering real bad. This pass Thanksgiving Day was a bad day. She was drinking a lot of water and then throwing up all over the house.

My rating for Ol Roy dog food is negative 5. I normally use another brand of dog food but picked up a bag of Ol Roy from Wal-Mart in KY on 11/28/2011. My puppy has had a major allergic reaction. Eyes are swelled shut, whelps on his stomach, diarrhea and vomiting. He is at the vet now getting fluids. Do not buy! I cannot understand how these people get away with marketing this product after so many complaints. Pull this ** off the shelf. I have a very sick little puppy dog.

Wow! I've never heard of anyone having any problems with "Red Bag" Ol Roy dog food until I found this. I have never, in the past 25 years of having dogs, had a single problem with this food.

Your reformulated Ol Roy dog food is not very good. I have three dogs and none of them liked it. One refused to eat it. I would not buy it again.

I have been feeding my dog Ol Roy since the day before thanksgiving because when I went to get the kind I usually get, they were out. Well, now she has diarrhea, puking horribly, also she has been panting lately when it's not even hot. It's fall/winter here. she is a greyhound mix has very short hair so she shouldn't be panting. It was the biggest red bag complete nutrition number 81131 17551. I will be switching her dog food back to pedigree today and if she is still throwing up, I will be taking her to the vet. I really hope something is done about this before it hurts anymore dogs. I will be heartbroken if I lose my little ladybug.

Ol Roy dog food killed my son's new puppy. This company and Walmart should be ashamed! This poor puppy suffered horribly and my son is devastated. It needs to be taken off the shelves before it kills more dogs. This needs less than a zero star.

I purchased a bag of Old Roy dog biscuits and fed one to our black lab. My chi-pom dog wanted one also so I gave him one on Thursday night. When I got home from work on Friday, he was acting sick and laying around. He would not eat anything, however I managed to get him to eat a little bite of scrambled eggs. By Sunday, he was even sicker as he was dehydrated and was running a fever so I rushed him to an animal clinic. The vet gave him fluids, antibiotics and advised to take him to a regular vet as soon as they opened. I sat up all night with him with stomachache.

My chihuahua ate Ol Roy's Soft & Moist dog food and within the last 2 days, he had had rapid weight loss and vomiting up his water when he drinks. Just like everyone else, I found this at Wal-Mart and bought it because it was a bit cheaper than the Moist and Meaty food I usually buy. But it had a horrible effect on my dog and he is always energetic and when he gets fed he's right there at his bowl to eat.

Update! My dog stormy died today. Hope Ol Roy dog food people are happy. Now they can add another one to the list of the ones they have killed.

Wow! Are you kidding me? I'm looking up dog food for a dog that has kidney and pancreatic problems and came across this. My dog Stormy started projectile puking and drooling on Thanksgiving night (2011). We couldn't figure it out. The next day, I took her to the vet and he sent her home with meds. I started giving her them and she became worse. 4 days of this communicating with the vet, we had to take her in today for an emergency (Sunday). She was severely sick, vomiting, drooling, shaking and couldn't stand. He did blood test while we were there and came back with pancreatic and severe kidney. They are keeping her for a few days, hoping she will respond to the meds.

My husband got a bag of Ol Roy Chicken Strips from Wal-Mart. I had a bag of the Red Ol Roy dog food. I fed it to my dog and she got sick. She started throwing up, had diarrhea, staggering back and forth, etc. So, for 3 days my dog was sick. I bought a bag of Lamb And Rice, fed my dog, and he started having diarrhea that evening along with vomiting. This lasted 3 days. I realized it may be the bag of new food. I switched brands and he started perking up and having solid stools again. I know it had to be the Ole Roy Lamb and Rice. It has the UPC code 8113 1 17560 and was bought in Illinois. Please do not take the chance on this brand of food.

I owned a blue demon pit bull that was a little over a year and a half. I always fed all my dogs Ol Roy red bag, then one morning in June 2011, I woke up to him growling. My husband and I went to see what was there, and he was acting like he had no clue who we were, or where he was even at. He then began to try and attack my husband, and as soon as he got out the door, he, in return, tried to attack me, and my female pit bull stopped him.

On Friday, November 11, 2011, my husband and I purchased the large 40lbs bag of Ol' Roy Kibbles, Chunks and Chews in the light blue bag. We brought it home and fed it to our 4-year old miniature dachshund. We also had 2 miniature Pomeranian pups who were only 8 weeks old. We caught them in the wiener dog's food bowl and shooed them out of it. To make a long story short, by that evening, our wiener dog was gagging and retching. I really didn't think too much of it until the next morning at 6, I found him lying in the bedroom floor cold and stiff and barely breathing. The pom puppies were in their kennel, one was vomiting profusely while the other one was pooping everywhere.

I bought a big bag of Old Roy Kibbles Chunks and Chews. When I got to the bottom of the bag, the dog food looked like it was molded. Just wondered if you have had any other complaints about this? I have 2 Schnozers and this is all they will eat.

I bought Ol' Roy canned wet food for my dog because his usual dog food was out of the chunky pieces kind. He didn't like the ground mushy kind and the Ol' Roy was the only kind on the shelf that had chunky in stock. The night I gave him the food, he began making groaning noises. It wasn't until last night that I realized why I lost my dog on Saturday. After reading all of these reviews, there is no doubt in my mind that this food killed my dog.

Our German Shepherd Tex is 11 months old and I purchased Ol Roy dry food in the large red bag. He remained on the food for approximately 4 weeks during which time he displayed symptoms including: hair loss, severe and constant itching, drainage in the corner of the eyes, constant heavy panting even when inactive, and emitting a strong odor. These symptoms only appeared after he began this food. We decided to discontinue this brand in hopes the symptoms will subside as we ruled out fleas after examining him on several occasions.

First of all, my fiance made a complaint about one dog and I am making a complaint on behalf of the one that almost died. We purchased a big jug of the Ol Roy Dog biscuits and a few days after we began feeding them to him. He got sick, throwing up, diarrhea, staggering back and forth, etc. We drove 45 minutes to the vet and he sends us 2 hours away to the city as an emergency due to dehydration from him being so sick. No it was not parvo, or anything like that. It was a virus however, they neglected to ask us what we fed him. These Ol Roy products have been causing tremendous damage to our friends and it is inexcusable. Something must be done. We are not rich but these are members of our loving family. I am a Canadian and owning a pet is like living in America. Cost of medical bills is simply horrid. And if you do not have the money, your animal dies. Do they get that? He got sick and almost died.

The 5 star is for the scare it gave us!! Last week we took a drive into the city, we went into Walmart and purchased Ol' Roy dog food and the tub of treats. I fed the dog food to my Chesapeake Bay Retriever. In less than 24 hours my Chesapeake Bay Retriever started to stink and I mean,just as raw sewage did. Within 30 hrs she started to have blood in her stool, she got shaky and looked at us as she was mad. We asked a vet assistant what could cause this but no answer could be given, just a virus that was going by. She never got rid of the virus, her 3 hrs a day swims kept getting shorter and shorter to the point she can't go swimming for 10 minutes. She comes to shore and lays there looking at us and she has lost a lot of weight. Her hips look like they're going inside. Shelby is her name and I feel so bad knowing I was giving my best friend her death sentence.

Purchased Old Roy multi-flavored biscuits in a 10 lb box from Walmart. After a short time, worms started coming out of them. The UPC is **. I stopped feeding them to my dogs and plan on looking in to a class action suit against Walmart and the manufacturer in light of all the other complaints I see here. The manufacturer and seller of these products need to be made accountable, especially if they continue to sell this after they have been informed. Now I realize that Walmart has hundreds of lawyers to go through with this but if we can get the Feds involved. They can afford to break them.
