I bought Ol Roy puppy chow complete for my puppy and after she started eating it for a few days she got weak and was vomiting and having bloody diarrhea. Within a few days, she was dead. My poor sweet puppy! Ol Roy should be shut down, I've read so many stories after she died of other people having the same problem. I want justice for my pup!!!

We tried Ol Roy High Performance for our three dogs and they all started getting sick. I am talking vomiting, diarrhea and all. I found moldy chunks in the dog food bag after them being sick for three days straight. I immediately threw the nasty food away and bought a better food. The next day none of my dogs were ill. NEVER buy this crap!!!

I had two Boxers for approx 10 years (they were rescues). They were in good health and literally dropped dead. Oz was in bed in March. I said goodnight to him and went to my bed. He screamed about 5 minutes later - I ran and he was dead before I got to him (less than 50 feet). Three months later my other Boxer literally stood up in bed and fell off dead. They had nothing in common as far as genealogy. The only thing was their dog food... Ol Roy complete nutrition. Now I am worried about my other two dogs eating that food. I have about 80lbs left over.

My dog has been sick all night. Diarrhea, throwing up and dry heaving - this is not okay! When I looked at the food this is what I found. I then did research while up with her all night and found that this is an ongoing problem with this company. They should not be able to sell this at the store and should be recalled. Not acceptable at all! I am beyond angry that my dog is this sick from this food. Recall this before more dogs get sick!

We got a 2 month old puppy 2 months ago. We decided to feed him Ol Roy puppy food because on the bag on it says same ingredients as Purina puppy chow. Well he has diarrhea on and off since we got him until last week when I got a new bag at Walmart. He started vomiting and liquid diarrhea and refused to eat his food. I took him to the vet today and told me that he has a bacterial intestinal infection from his dog food. They told me stop feeding him that food right away. Had to get a shot to stop the diarrhea and he is on antibiotics for a week. The poor guy is only 4 months old and this puppy food is awful! Please never feed this to your beloved pets! Not worth saving a few dollars if it kills your dog!

Ol roy Dog food made 2 of my dogs very sick and luckily we figured it out and stop feeding it to them. I have a 95 lb pup that is American bulldog/white Shepherd that has never missed a meal and the 8 months-- he now weighs 75lbs-- I have had him he has never been sick until we started feeding him ol roy complete nutrition-- we bought a 50 lb bag. I also have a 4 month old 20 lb blue healer who now weighs 11 lbs thanks to the same dog food because both have been throwing up. They have only been on this food for 2 weeks. I would never recommend anyone buy ol roy for any pet because it makes your pets ill and if you feed and continue to feed them this brand it could cost the animals life or a really expensive vet bill.

This dog food killed my dog last week. I bought a 50lb of ol Roy dog food last week cause I usually buy Old Yeller Dog Food but they didn't sell it at Wal-Mart So I bought a bag of Ol' Roy instead. The first day he ate about half of what I gave him and my female dog wouldn't touch it at all. Anyway 3 days Sam quit eating completely. He almost lost 100lb. He started passing blood out of his pee hole, out of his butt and mouth. So in about 9 days after buying it I had to have him out down. The vet did test and it was from the food.

I still had the bag of food and the vet tested the food and did tons of test and they said the food was definitely the cause. I've contacted a lawyer on this matter. You ** killed my best friend. He was all I had. He was fine till I bought the food. How could you sell food and cause something like this. Dogs is part of people family. This is ** up. But I've already started talking to lawyers about this matter. I'm suing you for everything. You took my best friend and a part of my heart.

Had 3 labs. Ages 5, 7, & 8. Had been feeding them Ol' Roy Meaty Chunks & Gravy brand for 2.5 yrs. The 7 year old male ate a can one evening combined with a smaller than regular dry food portion. Within a few hours he began wrenching and dry heaving. Took him to the vet immediately. He had bloated. Ultimately his stomach got torted during this experience and we had to put him down. The 5 year old shortly after had the same bloating but no torsion. Ultimately he survived. They are treated well. Exercised at the appropriate times and given proper portions of water at all times.

Although nobody could tell us for sure if the incidents were directly connected to the "Ol' Roy" brand food. I am fairly confident this lead to the death of 1 & almost 2 of my dogs. The vet question any abnormal meals immediately. The lack of nutrition in the food, high carb content, amongst lack of real meat protein are all red flags when it comes to providing a balanced diet for any dog. Ultimately it's my fault for not doing my research sooner. Shame on me for trusting Wal-Mart. If anyone hears of a class action suit against "Ol' Roy" please post. Can't believe they're allowed to sell this line of food.

I myself do not use Ol Roy. My mother however rescues animals of all kinds and cannot afford expensive food. I ship her a few 50lb bags of Ol Roy here and there. She has a shepherd mix that lived to be 21, several small Jack Russells that lived well into their late teens- early twenties, and countless other dogs none of which died earlier that 13 years of age. All of her dogs have had Ol Roy their entire lives (at least as long as they were with her). Let's face it, animals die for many different reasons. My dog passed away from a recalled dog food that cost me almost $60 for a 20lb bag. I won't say the name, but its initials are BB.

The past month I have spent $1,500 in vet and animal hospital bills. I have a 14 year old, female, mixed breed, who will be 15 in a couple of months. Years ago she had a bad reaction to Pedigree and had seizures. I ended up using Old Roy dry kibbles & bits, used it for years and she did fine. A few months ago I switched to Old Roy can food, thinking that the can food may be easier for her to eat. Evidently there is something in this that does not agree with her. She started having runny eyes, skin sores, drinking excessive and incontinence. I passed the incontinence off as old age and being spayed. For seven days now I have taken away all store bought dog food and treats and began cooking boiled chicken, brown rice, and carrots. All of her symptoms have stopped.

The animal hospital vet put her on Proin 50 mg for incontinence, two weeks later her ALT levels in her blood work shot up to almost 600, normal range I was told was 118. Against the vets advice I took her off the Proin and as of yesterday her ALT is down to 292, still high but going down. The hospital vet also wanted to start her on Desmopressin for insipidus diabetes, said she was not concentrating her urine.

Both the Proin and Desmopressin were to be lifelong, daily medications. I chose not to do the desmopressin and to take her off of the proin and to cook for her. The excessive thirst is gone, she is drinking and urinating normally. Monday she is having her urine tested again to make sure she is now concentrating it since the excessive drinking has stopped. If it is not concentrating then I will fill the prescription for the Desmopressin and test her urine again after being on that a few days, I do understand not all problems may be food related.

As of right now, eyes no longer run, skin is healing, drinks normally and appears to be urinating normally. So far I haven't found any wet spots where she is leaking. I guess all I wanted to do was to encourage pet owners to consider what you are feeding your pet when you start seeing health problems. I also learned the hard way that it may not be one brand of food, but the ingredients being used in the food. A pet could be having a bad reaction to a certain ingredient or a combination of ingredients. I only have one dog, so cooking for her isn't going to be that expensive, will for sure be cheaper than a ton of medical test and daily medications. I can find chicken leg quarters for .69 cents a pound and the rice and carrots are not expensive. Now I need to educate myself on the best foods to add, to make sure she is getting all the nutrients she needs to live out the last part of her life healthy.

Had I of considered the food first that $1,500 could have bought a lot of ingredients to make a good quality food at home. I understand that everyone does not have the time to cook for pets, so do your research and pay attention to what our animals are telling you by their symptoms. I do know that all medical problems are not food related, but at least consider it when you take your pet to the vet, tell them what you feed them so that the vet can consider everything that is going on with your pet.

We returned to this vet this weekend. He had lost 8 more pounds between the Oct. 14 and Nov. 1 2014 blood work revealed liver and kidney failure as the first one. We put him down as well... Well I have 2 American bulldogs, one female and one male. I also have money problems due to a car wreck so I went to walmart instead of going to a feed and grain where u can get good food for your dog. Any way I did the transition like u usually would by giving them a small amount of the new food everyday for a week so it is easier on them. Any way 3 days into giving them a very small amount of mixed food they both started having a bad case of diarrhea. Then shortly after they both started to throw up every day and started eating grass everyday and sometimes almost everytime when they went outside they would eat grass and throw up and now my dogs don't hardly play anymore like they use to all the time because they was happy and felt good. Now they just mope around and also now they only eat every other day unlike they use to eat 2 times a day. They have gone as long as 2 days not wanting to eat this so called good dog food, not, lmao.

At this time I am pissed. My female is due to have pups soon. Usually in the past if I had a female that was due to have pups she would go to the vet and get a checkup and also get vitamins to help her before the pups come but I am concerned the pups will have problems because I also made the mistake of buying this ** dog food. All my mistake. Now that I have done my homework on this dog food like I should have in the first place, I worry about them all the time now. It is crazy to think this company that makes this dog food for the china / American company can get away with this and still be allowed to sell it. I also did not know it is preserved with some crap that gives people and dogs cancer, aaaaaaaaa what the ** do you do when your dogs u love r at risk and there is nothing I feel I can do or is there? Am I looking at this all wrong? What can I do? Can anybody help me? Is there any kind of company that can help since I was in a wreck and cant work, cant give them the food they deserve.

I thought about letting them go to a new home since I feel I can't do anything until I get better and get my settlement from my pain and suffering and all that but it is unfair to think that my babies may have to leave. My male dog has dealt with anxiety ever since I can remember. I only give this treat to two of my dogs, a little 4 lb chihuahua named Chico and a schnauzer named Doodles who weighs 13 lbs. Doodles came down sick first - diarrhea, then bloody diarrhea. Emergency vet on Sunday saved her life, but she almost died. 5 days later our little Chico came down with the same thing and died within 12 hours. Vets could not find out why this happen. Last night I gave this treat to a little dog in our care, and this morning he now has diarrhea and is very sick. Won't eat, vomiting. Do not, I repeat DO NOT buy any Ol Roy treats or dog food. It makes my heart break to know it was my fault my little baby died and now two are so sick and may still die. I am having the treats tested. If it is the treats, I am suing this company big time. We should not have to go thru this pain and heartache of watching our little dogs bleed to death and die in our arms.

These people falsified information to the insurance company to make sure they wouldn't pay for all the expenses I incurred because of their product. My dogs stopped eating or drinking water. They had to be placed in emergency care with IV and other meds but one died. The food manufacturer submits information to the insurance company talk about a conflict of interest.

So I will be bringing my newly opened bag of high performance ol roy back to walmart tomorrow. Walmart food causes this to happen. I was just there, they still have it on the shelves. I will be putting my dogs back on a brand I know that is not in recall.

I have six beautiful pups born May 26 and 27, 2014. Their mom is my baby, so I was excited to help her birth her pups...which I did. Once they became 8 weeks, they stated eating dry foods. Now, time passes and they are eating way more (plus I have to feed mom who is a large breed) and finances became tight - I purchased Ol' Roy. Worse mistake of my life. All six of my puppies have been eating this food. Five have excessive diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy, extreme loss of weight, refusing food, excessive drinking and one is so bloated he looks to pop. The only thing done different in their lives is the food and I'm to blame for making that choice.

I feel worse than horrible because they depended on me. They trusted me. I let them down because I trusted an American company to have standards, to care about dogs especially when that's what they advertise to be doing. Instead, they are killing them... slowly. One of my pups (the runt) had become so emaciated I cry every time I see her. How could I do this to them? How could a company that knows what their product is doing continue to sell it? How can the regulating organizations let them?

I'm afraid for their health, on a massive scale. I went out and bought Nature's Best to get as close to a raw diet as I can. Some are taking to the small portions. They get well but there's two, the runt and her sister, that will not eat at all. If anyone can give me a suggestion on what to do, I'm open to hearing it. They can't die, none of them... They shouldn't even be like this... I don't think I could handle even one of them dying because of my choice. Help me.

And to the Ol' Roy company, fix this or I will make a mess so large your PR reps will quit, your company will fold, the world will know, and every consumer who had to be subjected to your horrendous practices, your attitudes and watching the beloved fur member suffer will be compensated. Take me at my word. I mean it when I say it. It's a promise/guarantee when I write it.

We have a German Shepherd who when we give her the treats she absolutely loves them, I mean really really loves them. In fact to the point she drives us crazy wanting more. The fact is she acts like a tweeker, this is no joke, I’m serious. That dog gets so hyper sometimes to keep her from bugging you to death you have to put her in the other room. The first box we had used was peanut butter flavor. After we got halfway through the box I quit giving them to her. I thought maybe it was the PB was reacting with her and stopped giving them to her. She loves her treats, but none of the other treats such as milk bones or beggin strips drove her so insane. In fact she would choose these over beggin strips.

So we started giving her milk bones again and she went back to acting normal again. Well last week I bought the ol roy multi flavor treats (thinking it was the peanut butter not the treats themselves last time causing the problem) because they was out of milk bones. Once again she goes absolutely tweeker nuts over these treats. I'm done with ol roy crap. Btw these treats seem to make her breath and teeth even worse instead of help keeping them clean. Now the dog really does look like a tweeker. Has anyone else noticed this effect in their dogs?

Just after Christmas 2013 we switched him to the diet version of Ol Roy. I bought the first 40 lb bag, no problem, then the next time I went to Walmart I bought 2 of them. I stored the extra one in the closet. First bag was ok, then when I switched over to the second bag, it was infested with Pantry Moths. They were everywhere!

The first sign of trouble was I got into my car one day. I had brought the food home in the floor of the backseat, and a couple of dozen moths were flying all over the car. The worms had crawled out of that bag. Then by the time I discovered them in the dog food, they had crawled all over the laundry room, and had been hatching moths for a couple of weeks. Between severe cleaning and lots of bug spray I think I have them gone now. Then when I went online to find out if others had the same problem, I found out this happens all the time, and not just with Ol Roy. I have been using this product for 6 years without trouble before and of course the first thing I thought of was to switch brands. Now I am not so sure after seeing other brands have the same problem, especially Purina. I think I will continue with this brand for now but from now on I will store the food in airtight 5 gallon buckets and check often for any signs of the moths or worms.

I am a Vet Tech in St. George, Utah and we had two 6 week old puppies come in that were exhibiting the same symptoms. They both were acting lethargic, and had been vomiting. The client told us that he just bought the Ol Roy food because he was low on money. The SAME DAY he bought it and gave it to the puppies, they came into my clinic for what seemed like a toxicity or poisoning. They were both lethargic, and unresponsive. After an injection of calcium and some Karo syrup and dextrose, the female responded well and was eating on her own. The male never regained consciousness and actually became worse as the appointment went longer. I had pulled up a review of the food and in almost EVERY article there were dogs with the same symptoms as the puppies! Distended abdomen, vomiting, etc. and out of those articles the ones that didn't die, wound up with liver damage. Needless to say, the little male didn't survive.

After further research I found out about the Ethoxyquin preservative that is used, is also used as a pesticide, and that pet food manufacturers as of 1997 have been asked to limit the amount of it used? WHY IS IT BEING USED AT ALL? It has been proven toxic to fish, and it is NOT legal for use in food in Australia, or the European market, and products with similar chemical makeup has been shown as a carcinogen. So why is it legal in the U.S.? Combined with "denatured meat" that is a recipe for disaster! I find it odd that on the very day of switching food that these symptoms start. A little too odd to be coincidental. It needs to be pulled from the shelf, and cease to be manufactured!

I been bought Ol' Roy complete nutrition from my local Walmart near Lebanon and Reading PA. I gotten a 50 lb bag for $19.99. Well, I been noticing my Yellow Labs, the dogs, have been puking a lot and I noticed they are not able to digest their food. I also noticed they do not really eat the food so I gotten them moist with their food Ol' Roy because of the price I could afford it. The youngest dog who weighs 80 lbs digests it well but on occasion gets sick on the floor. The oldest dog who is 11 is not digesting this well.

The other day, on 4/4/14, she was not herself and for some reason her breath had a moldy smell to it. I also noticed her nose was white and pale looking, had some trouble breathing and sniffing like she has something caught in her nose. Then later that day she was not herself. She was crawling instead of walking and then was shaking and her stomach was hard. I took her to the vet and they did test and said it was her liver. She is having liver failure. It was from the food I was giving her. The dogs both do puke a lot. And this really gave me a wake up when I noticed my dog was not herself and sick all the time.

The dogs, the girls, are like my kids. They are treated like family and when I noticed they were sick, I contacted the company on the back of the bag. They told me it is not under their control of what happens to the dogs once the diet formula is given to them. They claimed that I bought this at my own risk, that I should have known better. I was like, "Then I want my money back." They told me they could refund my money back but it was not their fault my dogs were sick from their food. I was told try to deal with the pain without bothering them with the details and best of luck.

I want to know how can a company sell crap to the public and then tell us they will not give you the money back. The damage is done yes but my dogs are sick and one is dying because of the dog food. Iams is what I was told from now on to give my dogs at the vet. That is the best, I was told and from now on I will give my dogs it until they are passing on. But the moral of this story is Ol' Roy is garbage dog food. There is 4 kinds of mold, yes mold, in the dog food and chemicals you find in cleaning products. I had the vet test a sample of it at the vet. It cost me extra but I wanted to know what made my dog ill and sick and it was Ol' Roy. It caused my dog to go into liver failure. Basically in a nutshell I have to wait and see approach. It is a guessing game will my dog live or die.

The youngest is now eating a balance diet of another brand and so is my eldest dog but the damage for her liver has been done. The doctor did tell me that the liver failure was caused of the diet she was on and that the dog will not make it through the week if she is lucky. I have her on medication now but it is a wait and see approach. I am pissed beyond words now. I am more than ever pissed that she was sick with this in her system. I thought I did my best with her. The expensive food was too much for me to afford and I seen this stuff. Basically people you're feeding your dogs the rot gut of the rot gut of food. The dogs are sick because of the food and the food is the cause of it.

Never again will I buy this ** and never again will I tell people to buy this stuff. They had not one feeling of empathy for my dog. They said and I quote, "Too many people lie about our brand and it is damaging to the reputation of this company to refund or to validate any kind of comments made by the consumer and their concerns of their dogs." Basically people, they are saying we are lying about the dog food and we want a payout or money back. Hell with that **. The dog food is killing the dogs pointblank and I am pissed I even bought this kind of food for my dogs. They deserve more than a rot gut way to die. They deserve better than ** food on their plates...

I had a 10-year-old Doberman Pinscher, and bought Ol' Roy Large Breed dog food for her in early December because she was low on her normal food, and Walmart was out of it. I figured it wouldn't hurt her for me to mix the last 1/4 bag of her normal food with Ol' Roy, and have her eat that for a couple of weeks. I couldn't have been more wrong. Roughly a week after I started feeding her the Ol' Roy, she died. She was fine at 8pm, and had been running around, playing with our kids earlier in the day, then at 8am the next morning, we found her body, surrounded by bloody diarrhea.

I contacted the FDA as well as Ol' Roy. I never heard back from the FDA, but I received letters and phone calls from Ol' Roy, promising to get a sample of the food and to test it to see if it could have killed her. It has now been almost 3 months since I first contacted Ol' Roy. I have yet to receive the postage paid envelope/box they promised to send out in order to get a sample. To one lady I spoke with, I expressed my concern that they wouldn't actually do anything about it, and that there are many cases like mine. She promised she would keep an eye on my case, and that she would look into it, personally.

I feel as though waiting 3 months for them to even try to get a sample of the food is excessive. I'm sure having the bag sit, opened, for that long isn't good for the results of the testing. I would love to have the food sent to an independent laboratory to be tested, but now, the bag has been open for over 4 months, and we just don't have the money to pay for the testing to be done. At this point, I'm disgusted with Ol' Roy. They obviously don't care to get to the bottom of this, and figure that sending me two $10 gift cards to Walmart will make everything okay.

I have an American Mastiff/Pit mix and a Great Dane, both approx. 8 yrs old. They used to get Purina One, then as money got tight, they got Purina Dog Chow, then to Ol' Roy. They've been eating that for quite some time now, but our mix dog started drinking an increasing amount of water. This has also led to him peeing a substantial amount more frequently and more in volume. He occasionally coughs, has developed a severe case of dry mouth, and has almost totally quit eating the dog food. He has lost a total of 19 pounds and is now down to 93 from 112.

The end of last week he started limping his driver side rear foot (easier than explaining his left or my left, lol). And almost cannot get up and down steps much less walk. It takes great effort on his part. He does not twitch, wince in pain, whimper, or whine when given a moderate rubbing (to check for tenderness and give affection at same time). My Dane is worried about him so she is now sleeping with us on the downstairs hallway floor (or stolen my spot to be more accurate). Our house is 110 and the floor is drafty but it's the only place he is willing to lay because it is right by the stairs to the bedroom he can almost not get to anymore to be with his humans.

I had not noticed how little he was eating for a while until I started feeding him boiled skinless boneless chicken breast chopped up with some form of plain or low sodium carb (such as plain pasta, plain ramen noodles w/o seasoning, whole grain crackers, rice...) He acted as though he were starving. I put his "protein" & carbs in about 2 cups of broth. This seems to have helped, but it's hard to tell how much is still lethargy and how much is restriction from his limpy leg thing. He sleeps a lot now, even more than before, but I am unsure how much is from his ailments and how much is from boredom since he has trouble getting outside (they have a doggie door).

I have read much in the lady several days. From what I have seen, he has either developed some type of diabetes, infection, or uremia (kidney failure). I have read another person post the same about the acute kidney failure and am worried for my fur babies. My Dane, though she is not exhibiting symptoms currently, is very close with him and I fear what would happen to the remaining baby if one should pass.

I lost a dog several years ago to the pet food recall that was so widespread. He was 3/4 blue (Pit) & 1/4 Rott, it was horrible to watch and not be able to make things better for them. I used to work in a warehouse that passed "denatured meat" through its docks. It was chemically altered especially for pet food and then stamped "NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION". Why??? That is my question. Why would you do something to it, on purpose, that's okay for my babies to eat but not for me? Seriously? Also, why would we get China to make our pet supplies and everything else (among others)? Okay, it's so much cheaper, but wouldn't the tariffs make up the savings and if the quality is deadly, how is that good?

They might make an okay product, and it is not the Walmart brand necessarily, but - I think I'm going to go simple and broke cooking for my dogs. My husband will ** himself. *deep sigh*. I don't know if this will help anyone else, but if it does even one person I'm glad.

The company indicates that all foods are packaged in the USA, but the manufacturer of their dog food is from China. My dog got very, very sick from eating this crappy dog food and eventually died from Acute Renal Failure. Now, I make homemade dog food of which I KNOW what is in the meal.

We had 5 puppies and 2 dogs, only one of the puppies didn't eat the Ol' Roy. The one that didn't eat it is perfectly healthy. We were buying the Ol' Roy because we're on a fixed income and my female dog had a litter of puppies. The dad is just fine but he didn't eat the Ol' Roy either. The puppies were born on October 17th. Today is January 25th and we just had to euthanize our beautiful puppies and the mom and her cousin. The puppies were full of life and healthy until they started eating on their own which was the Ol' Roy. Also I should mention that the mom and cousin were both vaccinated well before this happened. All puppies and Chance and Luna (mom and cousin) started showing signs of Parvo shortly after eating it. As I said previous, Chance and Luna were both vaccinated. There's nothing else it could have been.

On Thursday January 9th, I ran by Walmart and bought a bag of treats. First time I have ever bought anything "Old Roy". I thought well they didn't have any chicken Pepperoni treats and so I tried the chicken because he loves chicken the best. I gave him 2 treats about 2" long that night. The next morning, I saw where he had thrown up. That day after work, I go home and there is "loose stool" throughout my house. I knew immediately he was not well. Throughout Saturday, the loose bowel movements continued. No more throwing up. The last time I took him out Saturday night, I noticed there was blood in his stool when I cleaned him off. Sunday morning around 2:30, I awakened to him throwing up. It was pink. I knew then there was blood in it.

I called my Vet and took him immediately. She told me they have had many complaints about Salmonella being in Old Roy Chicken Strips. Just 2 strips is what upset him this badly. She gave him fluids and medicine for nausea and some antibiotics. He is fine now, hopefully... I still wonder about if any damage was done to his kidneys because of this. He still does not drink water like he used to. I will never ever buy any Walmart brand dog food again! I have spread the word also of what it did to my baby boy. He is a rescue and I really do not know the exact age. The Vet estimated him to be around 3 and I have had him for 2 years. He is the sweetest little boy you would ever meet.

My long haired Dachshund has been eating Ol Roy Moist and Meaty Brand dog food, for a while... the ONLY reason she eats this, is it is the only thing she likes, besides her baked chicken breast... She is very picky... I had bought her a new box & started feeding her a package & as soon as she started eating a few bites, she was vomiting, then she lied down & became very lethargic... It soon passed... I thought okay, maybe just some kind of tummy upset. She then felt better. She ate her chicken breast... felt better. So the next day, she went to eat her Ol Roy, after a couple of bites, she started vomiting again & was sick... I noticed the food had a strong odor... stronger than usual. I thought maybe something was wrong with this batch...so went out & bought another box... fed her a couple bites of it... vomiting again!!!! Needless to say, there is definitely something horribly wrong with this food!!! I don't know what, but this food needs to be recalled!!! Please don't feed this to your dog. I stopped! It has a strange odor. I am lucky she didn't die. I should have not given her any after the first time she vomited, after reading some reviews about this food!!! She is a lucky dog. A couple of months ago, we began feeding our Shi-Tzu a small amount (heaping teaspoon) of wet dog food along with the dry to make it more palatable. We started with Beneful, but after several weeks began using Ol' Roy Healthy Mix to save money. Last week (Christmas night) we noticed that our dog started to act lethargic and was drooling heavily. Not long after she began to vomit and had uncontrollable diarrhea. She would lay on her bed with fixed eyes and labored breathing, wouldn't drink or open her mouth at all. After several hours of monitoring her and contacting the vet, she began to show signs of improvement.

By morning she was slowly returning to a better disposition. We gave her the next day to recover before giving her any normal amounts of dog food to make sure she was over whatever had stricken her, only giving her a small amount of dry periodically. That evening, as she was showing a lot of improvement, we tried using a different flavor of the same Ol' Roy brand, thinking it might have been a fluke, something bad in the first container (which we disposed of). Unfortunately, the same symptoms returned and our poor dog went through another bout of the horrible effects caused by whatever lethal ingredient is in the Ol' Roy Health Mix.

I immediately disposed of the container and faced another night of worry. The next morning, we fed her the dry one piece at a time, so that by nightfall, she was doing better. She went through another day of light dry feeding and by this morning, she was back to her old self. We're lucky that she survived this ordeal and didn't die like so many others' dogs who have made similar complaints regarding Ol' Roy dog food products. I think the Ol' Roy Company should be thoroughly investigated with so many complaints being made.

She ate and was fine until about 10:45pm when she started coughing and then acted like she was having a stroke or something. She was weak after that and and couldn't stand well. She had small amount of diarrhea a little later. I held her for 1/2 hr and then she got down and went to get a drink of water. After that she seemed a little better but still wanted to be held.

Around midnight, she jumped up from my arms and started acting weird/squirmish and then she let out a big cry and kinda arched back a little and died a minute later. She was 14 1/2 and had a bad heart and enlarged liver. She had a small episode month ago. I just find it odd because I fed her that food that evening and dead... We got the food at our local Walmart not noticing that it had clumps (we still have a couple samples) in it until the next day. When we took the food back to Walmart, they said they had been getting a lot of complaints about it and returned our money and we got another brand dog food. But it was already too late. Our dog had trouble standing, he was breathing hard, his stomach was swollen and his gums were pale. Our dog weighed around 90-100 pounds and our little grandson played with him and he was so gentle with him yet he was a vicious hunting dog.

I feel the makers of the Ol Roy dog food should have to reimburse everyone that has filed a complaint and suffered the loss of their pet. It's not just the pet, consideration has to be made for the shots for the dog, all the food, the training that was put into making this dog such a good coon dog. There is so much put into our pets for it just to be taken away by a dog food company that is willing to take the cheap way out. If possible I would have given 1/2 a star.

After filing an initial complaint with Walmart, got a phone call today from a woman in Arkansas claiming to be a Walmart rep in the claims department. I bought a new bag of food on 7/15/13. My dog ate the food for 1 or 2 days and then stopped eating. He began losing weight very quickly. I tried other foods but he would only eat a little and continued to lose weight. When he started vomiting on 8./5, I took him to the vet and he was diagnosed with kidney failure, heart worms and other intestinal worms. After 2 days of IV fluids and numerous IV drugs, I took him home and he died 48 hours later. He was unable to breathe and I was constantly with him to reposition or prop him up. He was a sweet dog and only 6 yrs old. I wish I had found this site sooner.

I have two little puppies that are two months old. They are full of energy, and last night, they were just staying in their little doggy bed with no energy whatsoever. In the morning, I went to feed them and when I saw their doggy pee pad, there was diarrhea and blood everywhere! I was freaking out because they are my little babies. I didn't know what it could be and the only thing I can think of is their dog food because I don't give them treats.

So I Googled Ol Roy products and lo and behold, all their symptoms are the same as my babies. The pathetic thing is Ol Roy can see all these complaints and they still don't do anything about it. I don't want any stupid coupons or discounts. They need to realize they are harming and killing our beloved animals. It may be just dogs to them but they are family to us.

WARNING TO ANY FUTURE BUYERS: please, please, please DON'T even consider Ol Roy brands because they are going to hurt your little babies! And all the reviews and complaints you see are ALL correct. The company needs to do something about this because it is ridiculous!!!! I don't want any of these things to happen to anyone else's dogs, and for those whose dogs passed away because of Ol Roy, I am deeply sorry, but you guys did the right thing to post about it. After using expensive soft dog treats for years, a little over a month ago, I decided to switch to a harder dog biscuit in order to help my 3 dogs' teeth stay cleaner. So I went to Walmart & bought a 7.5 lb box of Ol' Roy Multi flavor dog biscuits for small/medium dogs. I divided the box of biscuits into 3 plastic containers to keep them fresher. Yesterday, I got to the bottom of the 1st plastic container & saw these little brown specks. Looking closer, I realized they were live bugs, so I brought out the other 2 containers. I dumped them out on the counter & both of them also had little brown bugs crawling around inside. It seems that they are inside of the biscuits, not on the biscuits. I freaked out.

I then did an internet search; I saw that other people have had the same problem with the Ol' Roy biscuits having live beetles since 2007 and that nothing has been done to stop it. I called my Vet today to see if my dogs might have any health issues from eating these beetles, and they said to stop using the biscuits and that the dogs should be fine, but to keep an eye on them. My Vet said that they would never recommend Ol' Roy products of any kind because they are made using unknown chemicals and have been known to cause health issues in animals. I am so disgusted that Ol' Roy has these beetles in their products & that I have been feeding them to my loving dogs. I am going to tell everybody I know not to use Ol' Roy products, and I want my $6.00 back from Ol' Roy that I paid for these infested biscuits. Shame on you, Ol' Roy.

This happened in 2010. It's hard to write. I was asked to care for a friend's 12-year-old family dog while she attended to her father who had cancer. The dog stayed at her home, indoors. I let him out 3 times a day. He smelled awful. He was scratching himself raw, refused to eat, and was mostly unresponsive toward me. He acted very strange when he got up to walk. It looked like he was having a hard time balancing and he kept holding his head at an odd angle. I noticed the Ol' Roy dog food bag in the garage and did some online investigating and discovered some very negative reviews. I contacted the owner about his condition and told her the bad food reviews. She said she would take him to a vet when she returned and to stop feeding Ol' Roy. Unfortunately, her father died and she had to stay longer than expected.

I did purchase Blue Buffalo dog food, and he did start eating, but his condition did not improve. When she returned, she was shocked by his condition. He was treated by their vet and started on medication. He unfortunately continued to worsen. He had to be euthanized 2 weeks later. I told my friend she should make a complaint to Walmart and Ol' Roy, but she was having a difficult time dealing with the death of her father and the loss of her dog. She felt guilty that because of financial difficulties, she had switched to the Ol' Roy brand a few months before his demise. She cannot bring herself to speak of this event so I am sharing it in the hopes it will save another family pet's life. I am still shocked that Ol' Roy is still on the market and was never discontinued by Walmart. How many more family pets need to die before this company is stopped?

We have used Ol' Roy dog food for many years. We have had problems occasionally with moldy food and bad bags. This has been few and far between and the times it has happened, the company has easily replaced/reimbursed us with no problem. This time, the food does not "appear" to be bad with mold or out of date issues... but something is wrong with it. Last week, when we opened a new bag and fed it to our dog, he began having uncontrolled diarrhea and vomited all over the house. We promptly took him off the food and put him on a rice/baby food diet to heal his stomach.

Within a short time, his stools returned to normal and he stopped vomiting. We had returned the bag of dog food and it was replaced with a new bag. Yesterday, we started mixing a small amount of food from the new bag in the rice/baby food. Last night, our dog began the uncontrolled diarrhea and vomiting all over again. There is definitely a problem with the dog food that needs to be address ASAP to prevent sickness and death in other dogs. There appears to be a need to inspect and perhaps do a recall. Thank you for your consideration - it is horrible to have a dog that is truly sick after eating this dog food.

I have been feeding my dogs Ol Roy dog food for about 10 years. Recently, my Red Heeler, who is a very active and energetic dog, has been refusing to eat his food. He has become lethargic, is staggering and has lost body weight. Last night (June 2013), he puddled and was lying in his urine on the kitchen floor. He has slept indoors since the above symptoms began so I could observe him. I always purchased the large bags in multiples when on sale at Wal-Mart and dispense them as needed in easy to access plastic barrels. This is a farm, and he is a well-trained working herding dog with my purebred livestock. Therefore, I am familiar with many aspects of animal nutrition, pharmaceuticals, vet care, etc. also having a University background in bio-science.

There is no possibility of accidental poisoning and nothing is new or has been introduced. I intend to have lab tests done to the dog food and his feces if possible. I understand that Old Roy may or may not be responsible if it turns out there is toxicity in the feed. Pet food manufacturers source and purchase protein supplement(s), then mix or blend according to their specs and/or bag and label generic product with their bag and label. They should be responsible, however, to ensure purity and safety standards are overseen and the FDA and other government bodies can only test when complaints are catalogued. I understand that there have been recent complaints with Ol Roy and there has been that huge fiasco and recall of 2007-2008 of varied brand names.

Back to my Red Heeler. Since I realized it is only his regular dog food he is refusing, I am currently only feeding him cooked freezer meat, which I am lucky to have as this is a farm situation. Another thought on this, knowing how corporations operate regarding their bottom line, is it possible that they are stockpiling the Melamine protein after time elapsing and the scandal subsided? Is it possible that stockpiles are being re-introduced in smaller less lethal amounts which could be lethal eventually but less traceable and provable due to long-term ingestion, which will not appear so significant to a specific dog food or product??? Last night on my way home, I figured I'd pick up a more premium food for her and grabbed some cans of Pure Balance canned food for her made by Ol Roy, after reading the ingredient list and being satisfied. Please folks, if you love your dog, stay away from this brand in any form. Apparently, their new premium line is nothing more than a fancy new label. Something really bad is happening at the plant. And they refused to pull the bags from the shelves and actually treated me as if they were going to throw me out of the store for telling other people about this product and how it killed my dog. I was very upset at the store’s blatant refusal to listen and their comments that Ol' Roy is a company brand owned by Walmart and perfectly safe. This stuff is the one thing that I fed my dogs differently. And right after I fed them, it got them sick, and my Shih Tzu/poodles became lethargic and began vomiting white phlegm and having very liquid stool. I quit feeding them this junk because I was not sure but suspected the food of being the cause.

Unfortunately, I could not save my male stud though I was able to save the rest. I treated them with a homemade remedy for easing their stomach and began feeding them scraps plus pedigree puppy food. The rest took several days and are now back to almost their old selves luckily. My stud was worth almost $500 as a puppy had he grown to full size. And have I been able to utilize him, the profits this company cost me, let alone the heartache caused to my family from losing him has no price.

These people are killing dogs and don't care. Their stores refuse to quit selling this poison and when people complain, they try to shut them up. When we took her to the vet to see what was wrong, I was told she had a heart murmur, chronic kidney failure, and anemia. We switched her food to Hill's k/d, but it was too late and she refused to eat at all. The diarrhea got worse and became bloody and she started throwing up. One week after beginning to feed her the canned food, she was unable to walk at all and had very labored breathing. We had to put her down and were all very upset, especially our other dog, a 5-year-old Siberian Husky. But at the time we thought it was a "fluke" incident and attributed it to her age (she was 10 years old at the time).

Two weeks after the death of our Boxer, we noticed the Husky acting very lethargic and not wanting to eat. She too began losing weight which we assumed was due to her grieving the loss of her companion. We began feeding her Ol' Roy canned food to try to entice her to eat and within 4 days, she quit eating altogether. She refused everything we tried, even steak. She was consuming huge amounts of water and began to urinate in the house. Her urine smelled like rotten fish. She also began having diarrhea which she had never done before. We took her to the vet and blood work showed her to be severely anemic and suffering from kidney failure. We were in complete shock!

How could this happen again?! Our Husky was treated with IV fluids, shots of vitamin K and B-12, corticosteroids, and antibiotics for 3 days. However, her health continued to decline. Additional blood work showed her anemia becoming worse and kidney levels off the charts. A dog that used to be a flash of fur running through the house now could barely even lift her head. After running every test imaginable on our poor baby and having her checked by 2 different vets, one being an emergency and vet specialist, we were told that her chance of recovery was extremely guarded and the best thing we could do would be to humanely euthanize her and this was probably a poisoning caused by the cheap Ol' Roy.

After spending over $1000 in vet bills and watching both of my energetic babies die before my eyes, I am now convinced that this was caused entirely by the Ol' Roy food. They both died of the exact same afflictions and my vet and I agree that Ol' Roy is the cause. I blame myself for feeding them this horrible poisonous crap! I just assumed that if it was on the shelf, it must be safe. I would have never imagined that anyone would allow such toxic junk to become available for consumption.

Walmart should be sued. Ol' Roy should be banned, and changes to the regulation of pet foods must be made. Nothing will ever bring back my precious babies and I now have to live with the fact that this tragedy could have been avoided if I had done my research before choosing to just buy whatever food was sold, relying on the companies to produce their products with integrity. How stupid of me! I will never buy cheap food ever again! I don't care how much it costs. I'd rather keep my pets safe.

Also, I still have the canned Ol' Roy and would like to know how to get this tested so that I can gain peace of mind from knowing the exact cause and get this poison banned.

I hate to say our baby passed away and the vet told us that he saw nothing wrong with her, only diarrhea in the intestinal tract that he could see on the x-ray. We still have the dog food and our outside dog that will eat anything, still won't touch it. I will have it tested, but I wanted to give people a head's up!

I have been purchasing Ol' Roy Kibbles, Chunks & Chews Savory Beef & Chicken Flavors Dog Food for about 1 year due to my budget. My dogs seem to love the flavor of the food so I kept purchasing it. About 2 weeks ago, my Lab mix had the worst diarrhea with blood in it (he also would cry while trying to go) for 24 hours. I took him to the vet and had his stool tested for parasites (I thought he picked up something from a dog park). The vet called me back the next day saying all test came back negative. He bounced back and didn't have many issues.

Then approximately one week later, my little beagle mix became ill. She was worse. She started vomiting and had bad diarrhea. She vomited 15 times within 24 hours and she's only 16 lbs. I took her immediately to the vet and he gave her some antibiotics and steroids to help her bounce back, but she was still sick. The vet ended up giving her an anti-vomiting medication with pain reliever. She didn't eat for 3 days, but it took her a few days to finally feel better. She is all better now, but the Vet did say that this is the worst dog food ever! I will never buy this food again especially after reading all these recent horrible reviews. I hope this company gets shut down so people won't lose their precious animals!

The vet said this was normal for poodles after age 3. One year ago, I decided to switch to a different Ol' Roy mix (crunchy bites & bones) because when he vomited, the red dye would stain the rug. We found the beagle still alive and rushed her to the vet. She was in kidney failure and having seizures. I did a complaint with the FDA and also Ol' Roy. Ol' Roy tested the food and said it was fine. They will not send me the results of the test; they just said everything was within limits. The FDA needs more complaints for them to follow up on it.

If you think this food killed your dog or dogs, please go through the complaint process so the food can be further tested. We are losing too many animals. I want the test results and they won't give them to me. That really makes me think they are hiding something. To file a complaint, go to FDA.gov Animal and Veterinary on the right hand side, go under how to file a complaint and it will walk you through it. When he came downstairs, he found her lying in her cage seizing, foaming at the mouth. That is the first seizure she has had. I started researching the cause and found your site. It was 95 cents and someone had told me it was one of the better brands to buy that wouldn't hurt my wallet. So when I got home with my dog, I opened the pack and mixed it with her regular dry food. She ate it all and the day went on like normal until about 9 at night. Every hour until about 3am, we were running outside because of her diarrhea. She would then go inside and shake and cry. We didn't realize how seriously sick our dog was until reading all of the posts. I wanted to share how we nursed our sick dog back to health. Our Golden Retriever started having seizures off and on about a year ago. When we can't get her normal brand or when our budget was tight, we bought Ol Roy dog food. About 5 days ago, our dog got really sick in the middle of the night and puked all over the house. She puked again the next night and the next morning was lethargic. I put her on a 24 fast to let her stomach rest. With that 24 hours, she had her 5th seizure. This one was the worst one she had. Her first meal after her fast was rice, pumpkin and chicken broth and put it through the blender. She ate it slowly. We fed her that 3 times the first day. The second day, I added cooked chicken and continued feeding her 3 times a day for the next 2 days.

Today, I added 1 cup of Ol Roy dog food to the food I prepared for her. She puked it up. We now know it is the dog food and started Googling, and found this site. We are feeling very fortunate that she is still with us. We are now wondering if the seizures were from the dog food all along.

I had my dog on Ol' Roy a few months ago. She had a stroke and it took a couple of weeks until she was normal again. We didn't think anything of the food possibly being the culprit. Once that bag was finished, we purchased the same brand we had been using before we had switched to Ol' Roy. We had run out of that. While I was shopping at Walmart yesterday, I just grabbed another bag of Ol' Roy to save myself another stop to get our usual brand since I have a 2 year old and a 2 month old I have to get in and out of the car.

Shortly after eating last night, our dog had a seizure. We coaxed her through it, still not considering it to be the dog food. Tonight she was acting fine. Five minutes later, we found her in her bed, limp and lifeless, her heart rate low and not breathing. She ended up dying in my husband's arms. She was only 6 years old. I had a dog a few years ago that had died from a particular brand of dog food. There was a lawsuit, and it was proven to be the cause of her death. So after figuring out the coincidence of it possibly being the dog food that caused her death, I decided to research, finding a lot of stories very similar to that of my own. I don't know for a fact that this dog food has taken the life of my pet, but I do hope that if it is, Ol' Roy will do something about it so that other poor pets' lives aren't taken so early.

He would awake in the middle of the night a couple of hours after eating the treats to vomit (this happened 2 nights). I am a veterinary technician, so we went through everything he had been getting and found that these were the only changes to his diet. As soon as we stopped giving the treats, the vomiting discontinued. As we did not have the treats tested, I cannot say without a doubt that is what was causing the vomiting but I am pretty confident. I have fed our dogs the high performance version of Ol Roy dog food (Wal-Mart's own brand) for several years. We are unfortunately on a very tight budget, and of the cheaper brands, this one seemed to have somewhat better ingredients and protein levels. We purchased a large bag in the beginning of August, as usual. For a few days, I didn't really realize how "off" the dogs were until I observed (stepped in, more like) ample evidence that all three of them had the squirts. They are up to date on their shots, and they didn't seem otherwise ill, if kind of low-energy. I looked around to see if they could have found something toxic to eat, but I found no such issues inside or out.

A few days later, I noticed that our lab, which is typical of the breed (Food is her focus 24/7, and she would probably eat herself to death if she had an unlimited supply.), was reluctant to eat her kibble. Anything else you offered her she eats, but little to none of her kibble. I realized that the other two dogs were also leaving a lot of food in the bowl. This was far from typical behavior. I gave the dogs some probiotics and gave them a day off from food altogether to let their systems rest. I thought it must be a virus. Now, I believe it was the food.

After their day without food, I offered them the Ol Roy kibble again. None of them ate more than a quarter of the bowl, in spite of fasting for a full day the day before. Then they went out and had the squirts again. I looked online to see if the food had been recalled. I didn't find that, but I did see several recent online comments about Ol Roy making dogs sick. I replaced the Ol Roy with Purina One lamb and rice kibble. The dogs ate the Purina One kibble as if starving. They continued to have diarrhea for two days after the food change, and now, they are passing solid stools.

They still seem "off" and a little reluctant to follow me around outside the way they usually do, seeming to tire easily. I have no doubt in my mind it was the food that made them sick, and I just pray that no permanent damage was done. I would love to take them to the vet to be sure there is no lasting harm, but living on disability, it often isn't an option for me to go to the doctor myself.

My local Wal-Mart in Spokane, Washington appears to have heard nothing about this problem, and I believe that the supervisor I spoke to there was being completely honest with me when she said that she had no idea there was a problem going on. I asked her to file a report with the higher-ups, and I hope that she did. But the word needs to get out much more widely that this is happening and quickly before more beloved dogs sicken or die needlessly. I personally would never buy this dog food again, no matter what explanations and promises may be made. And frankly, I seriously doubt any of my dogs would eat it now if it was the only thing I ever put in front of them again. Please, everyone who reads this, get the word out about this issue. Thank you.

He became less respondent, started having the runs, his bladder had weakened, and he started throwing up all the water he had consumed. I didn't feed him for three days. Though it sounds harsh, it's the only way his stomach would flush out naturally. I put him back on Purina and he was much better and more active. He would let us know when he had to go outside and the runs stop.

Last week, he ran out of Purina and I had the bad of Ol Roy left and I didn't get paid until Thursday. I fed him half a bowl of Ol Roy because I didn't want him to go without eating. After I did that, I automatically regretted it. Now, it's the same thing all over again. He has a weak bladder, the runs, will hardly move, dehydrated, and will not eat. Sad to say, I think I'm going to have to do the same thing I did last time and just stop bothering with Ol Roy. I don't understand how humans can make food that can potentially kill an innocent animal. It's like harming and in some cases killing the innocent.

I switched to the Ol’ Roy dog food (the 55-pound bag). Since I switched, my husky has been sick with the runs. After 3 days, he became violently sick vomiting (foamy, foul-smelling and nasty color) and he wouldn't move or drink. We rushed him to the emergency vet. They ran every test possibly, couldn't come with an answer and basically told us to be prepared to lose my dog. The nurse asked me what kind of food we gave him and said that this brand had recalls before. They pumped my dog full of fluids and antibiotics. We took him home hoping he would get better. We gave him tons of water; he came through it and is getting a little better every day. This vet visit because of your brand of dog food cost me $647 and almost my dog’s life. For anyone, I ask you to please not give your dog any of their dog brand products.

I purchased a medium ($11) bag of Kibbles and Chews. I have eleven shih tzus and they all enjoy this dog food, especially the white chewy bits. This, in particular, had absolutely no chewy bits at all. This is upsetting to me because I know my dogs enjoy these bites the most. They will dig out the entire bowl to get to these pieces first. So this upsets me that they will go over a week without their favorite part of their meals. I am very disappointed that they basically will suffer by going without something they love for over a week. I am disabled and a widow with teenagers, so I cannot afford to go out and get another bag.

I gave my dog Ol' Roy Healthy Mix dog food at 6:00 pm on 7/19/2012. On the morning of 7/20/2012, my dog had seizures so I took him to the vet. They gave him an IV and placed him on human phenobarbital. My dog is just one-year old and I never had any problems with him before as I always use science diet. I was at Walmart last time and since they do not carry science diet, I decided to pick up Ol' Roy Healthy Mix. I then realized that it was the reason why my dog had seizures. The next morning, I changed his food back to Science Diet. I did not give him any medicines and he has been fine. So if you love your dog, please do not give him/her Ol' Roy dog food.

I gave my dogs Ol Roy since the brand I usually buy was out and in the middle of the night, the puppy had severe diarrhea. The next day, my older puppy started throwing up and by the next morning, my older puppy was violently throwing up and unable to move and it look like he had a seizure and passed. He would have been 3 next month. I was able to get the younger puppy into the vet and started her on antibiotics and so far, she is good.

We tried a new dog food, Ol' Roy Moist & Meaty. I gave my dog half the packet, and he inhaled it. Later that evening, I fed him the rest of the packet, which he devoured. In the middle of the night, we discovered he had been vomiting. All that next day, he became completely lethargic, vomiting in place, diarrhea without even moving - just where he lay. He couldn't lift his head, wouldn't drink water, or even become enticed with a treat. Thinking perhaps his body was just not used to a new dog food, we waited.

When he was even worse the next day, we took him to the vet. The vet told us had we brought him sooner, he might have been able to save him. Our hearts sank when he said this because we had no idea a dog food could kill an animal! He hooked him up to an IV, ran all kinds of tests, and basically sent us home with him (and an extra IV bag if he makes it long enough to get another bag). Our vet bill was $250. We stayed up with him all night, changing out the towels underneath him from bowels, trying to clean him up from constant vomiting, changing out his IV bag (which kept clogging up so we had to draw fluid into another needle and keep pushing it in closer to the needle) and praying to God to please don't let our baby die because of a stupid purchasing choice we made.

This was five days ago, and I'm happy to say our prayers were answered, though our dog just doesn't seem the same. Do not buy Ol' Roy dog food, if you love your pet. I am stunned, shocked, and angered that this product is still on the market, especially after reading so many horrible stories! I have since stopped shopping at Wal-Mart, and will tell anyone who will listen to do the same. Shame on them.

I bought a bag of Ol' Roy Dog Food to save money over the cost of Purina Puppy Chow and it was the biggest mistake of my life. I fed it to my Lab puppies and 4 out of 6 died within days. Not an easy death, suffering, throwing up, bloody bowel movements and the lack of ability to eat, drink or move. I will forever feel guilty for making the mistake of feeding my puppies this food. When I talked to the company, they told me that the food tested good but had grass, pencil shavings and weeds in it. When I told them that it had to have been in it when I bought it, they told me that it was not their responsibility but Walmart's. I called Walmart and they said it is not their responsibility and that they are sorry for my loss! What is wrong with these people? These puppies are my babies. I am angry!

Thinking I was getting a bargain, I recently bought a 10lbs box of Ol Roy multi-flavored dog biscuits at Walmart. I gave our Chesapeake Bay Retriever two in the evening. That night, she was not acting like herself. I got up with her in the middle of the night and she was lying with her feet and tail tucked tightly under her. Her body was trembling like exaggerated shivering. She seemed okay the next day, but this seemed like a warning sign that perhaps these dog bones made her sick. They didn't look or smell abnormal in any way, but after reading all these reviews, I am throwing the bones out.

I gave them the gravy kind and it didn’t make them sick. The only reason I gave them this kind is because the store I got the other kind was because they were out of the kind I bought them. So, I would like to know if you will refund my money and replace 44 pounds I got. I got 5 of them. I always buy 5 of the gravy kind. But like I said, they were out of that kind so I had to buy 5 of the other kind. I paid $21.98 for them and all of it came to $115.90 that is with tax and all. She had a vet appointment later in the day and died before I could get her to the vet. I don't know for certain that the Old Roy strips caused the death, but that was the only change in their diet and lives in many years. We miss them severely.

We took him to the vet but he seemed to be getting better, then started vomiting again. I changed his dog food to Pedigree and gave the remainder of the bag to my sister-in-law for her dogs. I bought a 50-pound bag of Ol' Roy High Performance dog food on April 16, 2012 and fed all six of my dogs their weight appropriate amount of dog food that night. I had just finish off a bag of Ol' Roy and so was feeding a small amount of the previous bag with the new bag of Ol' Roy. The next morning my 9-month-old Carolina dog mix had explosive diarrhea in his crate. Once let out into the yard, he vomited and had watery diarrhea shoot out of his butt. I cleaned him and his crate up and let the other dogs out and watched them eliminate. All had solid excrement, but it was tinged with a small amount of bright red blood. Since I had to work that day, I left my 9-month-old pup out in the yard all day thinking it was just something he had eaten and it would pass.

Later that evening, I walked the yard and saw he had spent the day vomiting and having explosive watery diarrhea. When I checked him, he had lost a lot of body condition in the 8 hours I was gone and he had irritated sclera (red in the whites of the eyes). So I knew he was stressing. When I let the other dogs out, two of the smaller dogs promptly vomited clear fluid. Not stomach bile. I went online and found others had complained about their dogs getting sick on Ol' Roy, but no recall had been issued and no investigation was being conducted. I returned the food to the store and asked that a complaint be made to the maker of Ol' Roy and was told the store does not do that. I decided to make a complaint here and I will be calling the number for Wal-Mart in the morning. I hope this can be resolved so nobody else’s dogs get sick and that mine get better quickly.
