My little Maltese I brought home from the shelter loves this food! She gets about 3/4 cup daily over two feeding periods. She had no difficulty adjusting to this food and has never had any issues with digestion. Stools were and continue to be normal. She likes the little bites but sometimes they are hard to find, but we always buy the chicken for her.

My Greyhound was having issues with canned wet food. Started with Freshpet food rolls. First he really enjoys the flavor and eats with enthusiasm. He likes all flavors especially the salmon. No more stomach issues, diarrhea, excessive gas. It is also convenient to cut up the rolls according to portion size he needs. Readily available in the small town I live in.

I don’t have an account number. I buy in the stores I would have given Freshpet a very high rating except that I have a hard time finding a supply. I am feeding my dogs, chunky turkey and chicken because the copper content is lower than in the others. Finding it has been so hard that I try to switch my dogs to another food. The one with liver problems was not having it. She wanted her food so I drove 35 miles and stocked up. Why does this have to be so hard?

We order the chicken Freshpet roll and my dog is doing so amazing on it… It’s really changed her for the better. I just wanted to give the feedback because we have seen such a change in her. She acts like a puppy again and she’s almost eight years old!

My 2 pomeranian dogs love Freshpet. They shredded type. I was first given some at a food bank and now I buy at Petsmart or grocery store. I do also feed freeze dried raw..but supplementing with Fresh Pet. One of my Poms is 19 yrs old..way past his expiration date so good nutrition is especially important for him..he loves it.

I first got Freshpet for my dog as a cheaper alternative than wet food, BUT since I got that first tube of food I have learned that my dog absolutely loves the stuff! He's been on fresh pet for at least 6 months and has maintained his weight and it a very healthy dog.

Our standard poodle was a picky eater. We tried Freshpet as a last resort and we were desperate! Rosie had dropped weight and became anemic. She loved Freshpet and, most importantly, she continues to eat and maintain a healthy weight. There isn’t enough room to tell you how much Freshpet helped.

My little miniature Schnauzer LOVES your dogfood. I'm glad of that because I tried to give her The Farmers Dog and she almost died. I followed their directions but she got terribly constipated. She was plugged up all night. I had to put olive oil on my finger to get the ROCK hard stools out. Poor little thing. They were as big as those large marbles. Told them about it and they apologized, gave me a refund and that's the last I've heard from them. THANK YOU FRESHPET!!

I’ve purchase this product for about 1 year. The last four bags I bought turned gray in the first couple of days. Also had a very foul sour smell. Sometimes I heat a little in my microwave to take the chill off. While in microwave the dog food started shootings sparks. Something is definitely not right!!

I have been buying Vital dog food for my 2 dogs. They claim it's organic and healthy. It came frozen when I defrosted the dog food. The food caught on fire. Started sparking. I had it tested and found Aluminum in the dog food. This is illegal and toxic and my dog has been very sick.

I have been feeding my dog Freshpet chicken dog food for approximately six months. I have had a repeated 15 minutes situation where the food spoils within 24 hours of the bag being opened. Our latest experience is that this food has made our dog very very sick. I suggest know when use this product. We will never use it again.

I'm only writing this review because the commercial made a serious illness, into "just old age". My 11-year-old cat started not eating as much (he looooved healthy cat food) and the commercial made it seem like that was just a normal thing... I had brought my cat to the vet twice over 2 months with concerns of weight loss. I spent 2 months buying every kind of food under the sun and Freshpet was one he ate for maybe a week, then stopped. I thought it was just old age like the commercial said, but he still kept losing weight... 3rd trip to the vet $$$ we finally discovered it was hyperthyroidism and stage 2 kidney disease. There should be a warning on Freshpet's misleading commercials that anorexia in pets is "NOT" just cause they're getting old, but should be seen by a vet first... Heartbreaking that I'm not an expert on animals. :( Such a sad ending for my favorite little buddy.

I have been feeding my dogs Freshpet dog food for years never had a problem till recently. My dogs got very sick after eating their beef, chicken and Turkey and chicken recipes. I reported the problem but Freshpet couldn’t care less and never open an investigation or anything. I will never feed my dogs that garbage again because they can careless unless threatened with a lawsuit or reporting the to FDA. In the meantime I am out of $100.00 worth of food and hundreds if not a thousand in Vet bills. I have having some of there food inspected by professionals of it comes back tainted I am not only going to sue them but I am reporting them to the health department and other government agencies. It is unacceptable that they allow these stores to deliberately sell bad dog food that can actually cause death in some dogs.. Absolutely unacceptable!!!

We have been feeding our dogs Freshpet for years. Lately I had been questioning the freshness as I've gotten slimy rolls and mushy rolls and my dogs have been sick randomly when I open new logs. I've returned some thinking it was a refrigeration issue but after reading all these bad reviews I'm concerned it's what killed my dog yesterday. I had a 7 yr old extremely healthy pekingese mix.

I have for several years gotten the six pound tubes of all the different types, beef, chicken, etc. Each time I bring the product straight home and refrigerate it. Three times now, including today, I've gotten tubes that upon opening are full of a thick white mucus like slime. This concerns me greatly as it appears very similar to the white slime you will see on uncooked chicken left too long in the refrigerator that is Salmonella. The first two times the company advised me instantly without hesitation to throw the product away and they sent me coupons for new product. So they know they have a problem but they refused to tell me what the white slime is composed of. They said if the package leaks and air gets in this will happen.

We are new to Freshpet and have purchased several rolls of the chicken and the beef recipe for our Shephard. She was enjoying the product, but we noticed this week for a few days she was lethargic, off her food and vomiting. No runny stools. But, definitely looking unwell. She has been on homecooked food for several years, but we thought with the price of meat that we would try your product. I have decided not to purchase in the future because the last beef roll (6#) was slimy. Only on the outside of the roll, but it was very concerning. I noticed other posts with the same concern and Freshpet's response was they would be contacting the customer. Freshpet's voicebox for customer service was full. I will be cooking her meals at home again.

After feeding my Shih Tzu Fresh Pet Select (roll) for 12 years now, I am highly suspicious that the last few purchases in the Phoenix area have cause my dog horrible health issues. Suddenly, he hates the taste and has been lethargic and lost all energy. Maybe it is just a coincidence, but as soon as I took him off the Fresh Pet, he started to behave much better and regained his strength. I wonder if the recipe has been changed or the shipment may not have been kept properly refrigerated. Anyone else notice this?

We have been purchasing the Freshpet select beef flavor "dog logs" for a while now as an additive to my dog's regular kibble. Usually the food is fine, and at first they seemed to really like it. However occasionally, as was the most recent purchase, the tubes have a mucus like slime all over the food, and all inside the package. You can literally squeeze it out. There is probably a 1/4 cup of slime in total. I don't want to feed this to my dog. I did feed them some once thinking it was a food additive or preservative, and my dog acted like he wasn't feeling well, and threw up the next morning. I wish I had trusted my gut and just threw it away. You cant tell if it's going to be a slimy one at the store until you get home and cut the tube open. This is such a waste, as these are a bit pricey, and have raised in price along with everything else at the store. I will not be purchasing these anymore, and wanted to warn others not to waste their money.

I have been using Freshpet for a few months now and no complaints. However when I cut into the latest loaf I purchased a mucus like slime came out and the product was very slippery/slimy to the touch with a slight brown tinge in color on the outside. This is the first time I've seen this and will not feed my dog this.

We wanted to give our new puppy the best dog food out there so we went to Fresh Pet. We thought it must be the best since it's refrigerated and carried at a LOT of places. We were wrong. We tried several flavors and our dog hated it all and wouldn't eat it unless she was starting to death. We think we know why... It's smells terrible, like it's sour or spoiled. Not just once but every new batch we got. No wonder our dog hated it. We feel bad we ever tried to get her to eat it.

Easy on a sensitive stomach, however lately I've noticed an excessive amount of carrots. In the smaller size bags, (1.75 lb) Home Cooked Chicken Recipe, I'm not happy about paying this much money for a serious handful of carrots in a cup of dog food. The larger size bags, (4.5 lbs) the proportions seem to be much better.

My dog has a very sensitive stomach. I chose Freshpet grain free and it's been amazing. To serve her fresh food every day and not have to cook it for her it's a real blessing. She eats it immediately and we never have tummy issues. She's a 15 pound Pomeranian so I get the package of grain-free chicken.

Freshpet is similar to homemade pet food. My rescue Shih Tzu enjoys it immensely. Tfhe first ingredient is the meat and all the grains appear fresh. My only complaint is that I can't find it just anywhere. It has to be refrigerated.

Been feeding Freshpet since my groomer recommended it a couple months ago but stopped this week. Dunce my dog had developed diarrhea twice while on the food. Made an appointment with the vet. And in the 48 hours before the appointment my dog's health went south. He became lethargic, drinking extreme amounts of water and shaking. The vet diagnosed pancreatitis, gave him meds, and IVs and we need to go back tomorrow for more of the same. He isn't severe enough to be hospitalized. I just stopped feeding the freshpet this week because I suspect it in the recurrent diarrhea. A cause of pancreatitis is high fat diet. Freshpet almost killed my dog in just 2 months. And cost my wallet significantly.

This is the only food my 3 dogs will eat it fresh and natural, they love the variety of cranberries and carrots. Price is reasonable and you can find it in the refrigerator in the pet aisle! Worth every penny.

I bought this to mix with kibble to give them a little healthy boost, just a few tablespoons not even a full serving. Next day they both have almost liquid diarrhea, with mucus and one is vomiting. Nothing else has changed and it has gone on all day. I have stopped the food and will be taking them to the vet if nothing changes tomorrow.

I had been giving my shorkie Fresh Pet for several months. I noticed he started vomiting and having diarrhea. He also wouldn’t touch his food sometimes. This is the only food I had been giving him because he liked it at first and was very picky. I took him to vet and they couldn’t find anything wrong but told me to keep an eye on him. That’s when I started paying attention to his food and decided to switch it because he wouldn’t touch it anymore. The vomiting and diarrhea stopped immediately. So I waited for a while and decided to try the fresh pet again. He vomited 30 mins after I had given it to him. So I don’t know if the formula or protein is too high for certain dogs. Or if the food was molded. I see it was recalled a few weeks ago but should have been recalled months before.

Our animals (1 dog, 4 cats) love to have a slice in the morning for breakfast of the rolls. For the dog, I buy the HUGE roll, slice it up, freeze it and it lasts about 4-5 weeks. Thank you for producing a great product.

My French bulldog, Leo, had environmental and food allergies that were leading to rashes and gastrointestinal issues for over a year. I researched raw food diets and decided to try him on your food. Since transitioning to your food, he hasn’t had problems with either. We even buy the turkey treats, he loves them! We are so grateful we found your product. Thank you!

My dogs love the loaves. Even my picky 12 year old Maltipoo! My other dog, a 14 year old Papillion, has an auto immune disease and it's a great way to keep her healthy. When it's dinner time they bark and whine, they get sooo excited!

While I cannot say definitively that this food was the cause, our previously healthy two year old toy dog ate this food and threw up a few hours later. She continued to throw up and couldn't even keep water down. We had never fed her Freshpet before. We took her to the vet who said she had a bout of pancreatitis. That was the first and last time we buy Fresh Pet. Again, while I cannot personally confirm the veracity of mold being an issue with this food, I've seen many discussions regarding mold problems associated with Fresh Pet.

I contacted customer care to inquire if they ever offered promotions or coupons on certain sites and they wrote me back stating that they would mail me some coupons! How nice is that!! This year has been So Hard and I love my little guys more than anything and they now love Fresh Pet food.. I am still unemployed and hopefully going back to work soon so them taking the time to mail me coupons means the world to me. :) Sammy and Joey thank you and I thank you too!! ❤️

I have been purchasing FreshPet for our 4 year old dog and when we first began he had lost interest in eating his regular dry food so I had always wanted to try this and it came to our nearby grocery store so I did, I purchased the tender chicken roll and he loved it and would eat his food right away when we fed him. The grocery store ran out of the roll so I purchased the bag and noticed afterwards that he had no interest in eating his food which we would mix with his dry food. He threw up a couple of times and was listless.

I found my answer why this is happening in your FAQ. My 4 pets love your Freshpet foods and it is really scary when I can't find it in the stores as they will not eat anything else. I really love the convenience of your foods also.

I love this and it has been such a life saver for my 16 year old Yorkie who has lost all his teeth and was such a picky eater but eats this and even stands and waits for it...I am so grateful I have found this and don't know how much longer my fur baby would have lived without teeth and being able to chew. What a great product. I am forever grateful.

My dogs 3 Yorkshire terriers depend on the Fresh pet. Sometimes I have to go miles and miles to get a fresh pet. I usually get the big chicken and turkey rolls. Now their favorite is Spinach and potato. My little guy has a shunted liver and Fresh Pet dog food saved his life. He's only 3 pounds but he's the boss and he let us know when he wants his fresh pet.

I just want to say thank you for excellent customer service! My pups love the Fresh Pet line of products and I love giving them a fresh product for these meals and also I give my pups a treat, they absolutely love it.

My little Pom chi’s are finicky eaters. They gobble this up!! I love that it’s fresh and natural, and provides what they need and like. Sometimes I have to buy a big bag, but I just portion out a weeks worth at a time and store in the freezer.

Small dog food bags. Very hard to find at grocery stores. Very expensive at pets stores actually twice the price. This is all my dog likes to eat. Easy for her because of her age and teeth. Have been running around to different grocery stores and walmarts. Always out.

I would like to say that my dogs love Fresh pet! When the pandemic hit it became harder to get the rolls for my three. I called one day and spoke to a wonderful kind caring customer representative who told me she apologized for the inconvenience and would like to send me a coupon to help us out for our troubles. My Shih tzu would not eat after his best friend (my poodle) passed away, they had been together for over 10 years every day. Heartbreaking for everyone. I went through all types of different food but he was just so depressed he would not eat. He drank water and ate his favorite snack but that was it, and certainly not enough to sustain him.

As of today I'm extremely upset with this company due to the following inactions of their customer service. My dogs have been eating this since they came out with Fresh from the Kitchen [which no longer has any cranberries in the bag. That's the only brand I give them. When I could no longer find this anywhere, Target, Walmart, Shoprite, Amazon, I switched to Multi Protein bags.. Now I cannot find that anywhere and I've called Customer Service numerous times to no avail. Today I phoned Secaucus where they are based and I received no apology, no plausible reason for their refrigerators to be empty for the last 6 weeks.

My mom has two elder dogs that have diet restrictions and Freshpet rolls are the one food that they can tolerate and love!! The dogs have lost most of their teeth since they are 14 and 13 years old and have a hard time chewing. The rolls have been been able for them to chew and tolerate.

I am writing to let you know that I tried your dog food Freshpet roll chicken with carrots, peas, rice. This is the greatest product ever, my dog Chloe loves it. Before we had a really hard time trying to get her to eat, when I go to feed her she like dances around waiting for her bowl. It is like Catnip for dogs. Thank you.

We have been feeding my service dog, Meli, Freshpet for over a year. Prior to changing from a limited ingredient kibble she required 2 allergy pills every day. They are $2.50 each, now she takes 1/2 a pill and is much happier. We tell everyone about Freshpet.

FreshPet Food saved my babies life. I struggled finding tender kibbles for my cat because she has lost quite a few teeth. Pate food is what I have to feed her and she ends up getting sick. FreshPet food honestly smells good enough for human to eat. My cat (Meeso) was a rescue cat. She has no claws on her front feet and someone just dumped her to fend for herself. We have had her for 3 years now and can’t seem to get her to gain weight. I just started her on FreshPet kibble this week and she LOVES it. She’s been eating and keeping it down. I can’t thank this company enough and they now have a FUR-EVER customer. Keep up the amazing work!

We have a 12-year-old Yorkie Poo that has struggled to eat any dog food that doesn't upset her stomach. We have tried so many brands including prescription and without a doubt, the FreshPet Small Dog chicken and turkey recipe is the absolute BEST!!!! We have 2 dogs eating Freshpet. We've noticed that one of them gets extremely constipated if we feed her Freshpet chicken. When I go to purchase Freshpet, often. Beef is the only one left. I'm wondering if others are having the same problem with the chicken. If we stick with Freshpet, we'll only purchase the beef. However, at this time, I'm not sure we should stick with the brand.

I have 2 senior dogs that have had most of their teeth extracted. They use to only eat dry food. But since a friend gave me Freshpet to try they both can easily eat Freshpet food and love it!! All products are great. I love how each product has how much to feed a pet by their weight. I find this as an excellent tool! Thank you Freshpet.

I wuv my Chicken & Beef Rolls which my mommy Jane feeds me as it is so yummy. I am a big fan of Fresh Pet and used to need ** to increase my appetite when my mom gave me dry food as I refused to eat. Now I eat all gone.

I have a dog who is a very finicky/spoiled eater. Other family members spoiled her as a puppy with human table scraps and it's been a struggle ever since. She began refusing to eat her dog food, wet or dry. I tried making her food myself for years, but it was still hit or miss. Sometimes she would go days without eating anything. I would cave in and give her a few treats because I felt so bad when her little stomach would growl or she'd heave up bile. I recently decided to try FreshPet Vital in hopes of getting her back on track. This is the first time in 5½ years that I haven't had to fight with, bribe, or trick my dog into eating her food. It's only been a week so far, but this is definitely showing a lot of promise!

I have a 12 year old pug who has been struggling lately with eating his kibble (good ole pug teeth :)). I was nervous about switching over to fresh food after all these years of him on the same kibble, but I decided last night to buy a small bag to try it out. After days of turning his nose to his food, I gave him a small amount of Freshpet in his kibble last night and then again this morning. He inhaled his food! It has only been a few meals, but I am feeling good about it so far. I am hoping that once we move to 100% Freshpet and no kibble, that he will have an easier time eating his food.

I bought the FreshPet chicken for my dog. He loved it but after a month of eating it he became very ill. US$2000 later he is still recovering. He was vomiting every 10 minutes and I had to rush him to the ER three times and twice in one day. On the way to the ER he vomited in the car and was very sick. He weighed 7 pounds and after vomiting so much he went down to 5 pounds. They had to treat him on meds and fluids in order to help him recover. This happened in August 2020 and today (Dec 19, 2020) he is on less medication but nonetheless, my dog was in perfect health before. Now he is taking meds every day. I found that he had similar symptoms that others had posted in their review. This cost me so much money to get him back to health. I would never recommend FreshPet. I think it poisoned my dog.

My pups love Freshpet. I appreciate the coupons being sent. Prompted attention to my e mail. Fresh pet has been a god send to my pups' digestive systems plus they absolutely love it! I can’t say enough about how fresh pet has changed them. One is 8 yo and the other 7yo. They have their puppy energy back.

Recently, my dog experienced a very serious bout of gastroenteritis which left her quite Ill. I won't go into detail as it was pretty gross (HGE). However, after a vet visit for rehydration and injections of probiotics, antibiotics, etc., we brought her home with several meds. She would not permit us to give pills after the first one was forced. Anyway, I purchased Freshpet for Sensitive Stomachs and Skin and fed small amounts to her with white rice when she wanted to eat again. It contained everything she needed apparently (probiotics, Omega 3 and 6, brown rice, etc) and gradually, after small meals, she was able to enjoy it with her regular kibble. She is healthy now and I could not be more grateful for this wonderful solution to a life-threatening illness.

Customer Service was very quick to reply to my email request for coupons. Thank you so much for the quick reply. I Can't wait to get the coupons. Our Maltese-Pom loves the turkey-bacon treats, and I'm so glad to be able to feed him something that is better for him.

My American Bulldog was about 15 lbs overweight and the vet recommended changing her food to a healthier fresh menu instead of the dry kibble she had been eating, although it was a high-end brand she loved. I slowly switched her over to FreshPet simply because the ingredients looked good and it was a lot more affordable than other fresh pet food delivery options online and it was readily available in my local grocery store.

I reached out to FreshPet to see if they had free samples or coupons so that I could trial the product with my pet. They responded promptly and professionally and will provide me with coupons. Great customer service. I'm looking forward to trying FreshPet.

I have 2 small dogs, a cavalier from a puppy mill with complicated digestive issues and also a high energy, under weight, picky eating Pekingese. I have seen the Fresh Pet commercials and have always thought, "here we go again, another dog food with a lot of promises with mediocre results." My past experience with dog food products and promises has been either the dog is disinterested in the dog food or they like it but do not tolerate the product. HOWEVER, FRESH PET lived up to their word. On a whim, I told my husband to pick up FRESH PET at the store. Fortunately, it was in stock. My dogs were IMMEDIATELY interested. They actually ate it on their own.

This was a fast response. Thank you for the coupons. This will help so much. Now I can feed him what he likes, never had a dog get so picky on his food. He really loves the Chicken pattie and Beef patties. I break them up as treats.

I’m hoping you truly send out the coupons cause my puppy is liking this but the bags are so small and it’s expensive. So anything to help out will be greatly appreciated. I have a friend who dog doing the same so hopefully If my pup stays liking this she will try it on her dog.

My old girl, Tori loves her new food I started buying for her! So easy to eat when you are losing your teeth. We like the bigger packages that are like little nuggets, easy to serve and enjoy she said. She also likes the treats.. Well I think she likes the treats best!!

I'm on a limited budget and I save the life of one of my many feral cats. He is very friendly so I brought him into the house but he has intestinal issues. I've tried many brands with no luck. "My vet is trying to help me determine what my dog can eat, and suggested getting a cooked dog food with a novel, single-source protein...AND that the food SHOULD includes grains." Unfortunately, out of all of your dog-centric brands, I only see the bison as a protein/cooked dog food fitting the above criteria EXCEPT for the beef!! What can you recommend that I do? Also, please make it easier for pet parents with such difficulties to be able to avoid having to look at ingredients of a ton of your products by naming at least 1 of them more accurately: The Chunky Beef also has Chicken and should indicate both on the label. I don't usually give reviews but I felt compelled to on this product "Freshpet". I have tried for over a year, trying to find a dog food that my Cocker Spaniel would eat. Forget any dry food. You name it, I tried it. Since finding Freshpet, my dog finally is getting the nutrition he needs, and I add, simply. He also shows more fitness and his eye tears have become way less. All I can say is finally....Thank you Freshpet with coming up with a novel idea.

This is a great food. For some magic reason it really helps with my dog's reflux problems. It is always consistent and I have never worried about quality. I use the rolls cut up as a treat for George and without this food I don't know where we would be. I notice a real difference in his comfort if he does not get this food through the day. One of our dogs is aging and losing her teeth. She can’t chew kibble anymore and hates mushy pate food. FreshPet has been a lifesaver because she loves it and is able to eat it without a problem. Before FreshPet she she was losing weight from not eating.

Bailey wouldn't eat after her brother passed away 2 years ago. She would eat maybe 2-3 times a week. After a rough bout of pancreatitis 4 years ago I was told that she had to always have to eat a food with a fat content under 10%. With food brands always changing and canceling a specific food I was about to give up on her. Her bloodwork was getting worse and I was told that she would need to see specialists. I found Freshpet dog food in the grocery store one day and decided to give it a try. At first she turned her nose up to and and refused to eat. I then began mixing it with pumpkin and sweet potatoes. We went through this for a few weeks and one day I noticed that she was becoming more active and eating without any issues.

I am so happy to have found Freshpet! My 13 year old muttley Polly was SO picky she wouldn't eat anything! I had tried everything! She would sniff and walk away. My dog Murphy, has had stomach issues since we got him in 2009 as a rescue. The vet always recommended medication and special food. I also cooked for him hoping this would help. We switched our 6 yr old Maltese to Freshpet from Royal Canine about 10 months ago. She has been doing great on it until this week when she has thrown up 4 times within a half-hour of eating. She doesn't have any other symptoms and is not acting ill at all. Both the bags that the food came from had a sell-by date of 1/20/21 and both were purchased at Walmart on the same day. They have been properly refrigerated. After she threw up the second time we threw the first bag away just to be safe, and opened another bag, but the same thing happened. Is it possible that this is just a bad batch? Has anyone else had this same problem?

My dog was 5 years old when he past away last month. Months prior I took him to the vet for his annual wellness exam since his birthday was in July. Blood work was drawn and results came back as a healthy dog. NO health issues found. I’ve feed my dog fresh pet since a puppy. I’ve feed him the Turkey/Chicken recipe that came in a loaf. On a Sunday morning he ate breakfast, not knowing that would have been his last meal. Sunday night I noticed he was walking with a hump and refused his fresh pet dinner. He was still drinking water and walking (that was a good sign to me).

I have a yorkie puppy who became such a fussy eater. I tried everything then I found Freshpet puppy roll so tried it, she loved it but after a few days she was sick. As I was out in the car with her I put this down to car sickness, she refused the puppy roll after so I left it a few weeks and tried it again. Once again she ate it straight away but after 3 hours began vomiting. I monitored her for a few hours and she seemed ok but during the night she began vomiting again. I know she has not had anything else except Freshpet so it is too much of a coincidence a second time she is sick from it.

I have a 4 year old Old English Sheepdog that has been on Blue since I got him, but I always worried about bloat in large dogs, my daughter also has one, but hers was very finicky about eating; so when she suggested I try the Freshpet, I did (even with the cost) and I've been very pleased. I don't have the worry and my dog loves it.

My rescued pup was having gut and skin issues. I tried different crunchy food and finally found a good one that was grain free, corn free and the first 5 ingredients were all good stuff, his bathroom habits got a little better but not totally and still had itching. SO, I did a little more research and found my (CANNED) food could be the real issue. I switched the canned stuff out for Vital Fresh pet I found at Petsmart and it has made a world of difference. No more talking gut, stools are regular and his skin is even better. No more dandruff. He loves the new (wet) choice of food and sits in his spots just waiting and staring at me while I prepare it. The big loaf gets us about 2 weeks as a topper (he is a 65 lb dog) and I think spend less in a month than I did buying the big cans wet food.

My senior pet had been having trouble eating kibble as he has very few teeth, so I tried the Small Dog Chicken and Dog Joy Chicken treats. He loves them and they are both soft enough for him to eat comfortably. Also, not sure if it's related but it seems the grain-free food has helped with his skin and coat.

Y’all, I can’t rave enough about Freshpet Vital Fresh Cut dog food! I have been feeding it to my 3 dogs for the last month and half and they love it! Rudy and the 16yr old girl, Samantha love the beef and lamb mix and Lucky loves the chicken mix. The biggest difference is the turn around it has made with Samantha. She has gone from a lethargic old dog to a vibrant, active, engaging senior dog. She is completely different than the dog who came to my house 2 months ago. This morning on our morning outing, she was running and jumping after the other dogs like she was a pup. There is light in her eyes again.

FreshPet has truly made a difference in our senior dog. Xerxes is 12 years old and though he doesn’t always look or act his age, we began to notice he was slowing down with age and not eating his food regularly. We decided to try FreshPet, which we’d seen in the grocery aisle at the store, thinking a soft food would encourage him to eat. Xerxes took to it immediately, and ate up every bite of his meal. I purchased Freshpet Chicken Recipe on a whim as a extra treat for my dogs. I mixed it with there regular dog food (2) 1/3 cups freshpet and 2 cups dog food. My female a 3 yrs old and male a 5 yrs old both healthy and active loved the food but several hours later my male was acting funny on the bed. He was very restless getting up laying down several times. I got up to take him outside and before I got to the door he had diarrhea. He had another accident a couple hours later this time not waking me up and there was a good amount of blood at the end.

My two fur babies absolutely love Fresh Pet! When they aren't interested in their dry food I grab a roll of their favorite beef roll and the fresh pet small dog for the little one! It completely revamps their meals and they love it!

My 3 years old golden was stricken with lymes. She was running a fever, not eating and lethargic. We got the fever under control but she still would not eat. I have a 10 year old Siberian Husky and he absolutely loves the multi protein flavor. He is super picky with food but he ate this up. I just cut up the whole thing, store it in a ziplock in the fridge so it’s ready when I need it.

I would highly recommend Freshpet moist dog food for small-large dogs. My lil dog had teeth extracts and he turned his nose at every dry and wet pet food except Freshpet. My Vet highly recommended it and I have seen visible changes for the better in my little guy!!

My 10 mo. old English bulldog loved this brand as everything else we initially gave her led to contact dermatitis on her face and other skin allergies. Just last Monday we gave her a fresh bag and within 24 hours the diarrhea came. Then 72 hours after that the blood and mucus came. Believing that the second bag we bought at the same time was good, we gave some to our Frenchie as an emergency treat for training. Within 24 hours, his diarrhea came. 72 hours after that came the mucus and blood. I have emailed Freshpet twice and while the first email was very compassionate and detailed their safety protocols, the second response about the second bag was a brush off. The vet just today told me she’s heard of bacterial outbreaks with Freshpet recently so please do your research before purchasing any brand!

Freshpet is a delicious food that has breathed new vitality into my old Chorkie girl. She looks forward to eating each day. It’s easy to eat, easy to digest, and nutritious. I highly recommend Freshpet to anyone! They are also a gracious company with excellent customer service.

I usually make my dogs food for his evening meal, but we are in a small apartment while moving so I decided to buy him Freshpet. After three days, he could barely put his right leg on the ground. He also had difficulty walking and getting up and down from a lying position. We couldn't think of any way he had hurt himself. The only thing my husband could think of was that we changed the food. I started looking on the internet and found that Freshpet uses carrageenan as a thickening agent. This additive has been known to cause inflammation and have an effect on arthritis. I immediately threw the food away and within a few days he was back to normal again.

Two Chuys, 2 and 9+. Both Chuy have issues with this food. The 9 year old suffers stomach problems and will only manage a poop every few days on the Freshpet. The 2 year old pup has Extreme VOMITING and recently battled meningitis, cause 'unknown'. I can't 'definitely' link the meningitis to the FreshPet, but I can link the 2 days of VOMITING and lethargy of this extremely hyper pup to eating FreshPet. I'm trying desperately to get my mother to stop buying this food for her dogs, but at 70, she doesn't always remember. I have copied the reviews from this site, as well as others, and will continue to send these to her every day until she STOPS!!!

Our Lucy is a 13 year old Jack Russell/Rat Terrier Mix. About 6 months ago her appetite began to fail. She began to have stomach pains, gas, and random diarrhea. I have been feeding Freshpet to both my approx 14-16-year-old chihuahua mix and my 1.5 year old chihuahua mix for about the last 3 to 4 months. I have tried different products, i.e. protein formula however this formula seemed to be their favorite. Over the last week which has been the same time frame in which they have been eating a bag with expiration date Nov 2020 both dogs have been vomiting. The older dog has also had a small amount of blood in his feces. Both have been gasping for air though this has happened inconsistently.

This Freshpet, option was a great choice as use of 3-4 tablespoons as an encouragement to eat, for my dog. It WAS great for about 8 months, then the diarrhea and vomiting started. I stopped all food for 2 days - he was better than introduced the Fresh pet - small bites of 2 tablespoons back in and the diarrhea started again. Off the food and diarrhea stopped, so I am confident in saying my dog is no longer able to tolerate this food, as others have posted with similar symptoms. I am not saying anything about the quality of this product, just that my dog is no longer able to eat it. I called the 1-866 number to report and was told no recalls on any food. Heads up if you are thinking of using this product.

My dog had been on this food for several months. Late May. He eats chicken Freshpet kibble bags and rolls. Last week he’s up at night panting and squealing in pain. His stomach is the size of a football. Off to the animal hospital all the way uptown at 2:30am in New York during a curfew that started at 8pm. What a disaster. $1000 later my dog has been given fluids and injections. When the sun was shining again I finally got home. My dog slept. The next day he was throwing up. Then, the next evening his stomach is again the size of a football. Off to the animal hospital for a second night, this time at 2am in New York during a curfew. I Still have no idea it’s the batch of Freshpet food that’s poisonous.

I adopted my chihuahua, Rosie, about a year and a half ago. I have had the hardest time finding a food for her. We started with canned, then frozen raw, then freeze-dried raw. Each time I changed her food, she would fast for three days. When traveling, she would refuse to eat her normal food. Once we got home, it would be another three day fast before she would eat dog food. I started her on raw because I want her to have the best, freshest food out there. I thought this was my best choice (even though she didn't really like it).

I purchased the Freshpet chicken in a bag for my 11 year old Yorkie. She ate it the very first day but by day 2 she would not touch it. She started panting and showing signs of distress. She also will not eat anything or sleep. I’ve now been up the entire night because she had vomited 3 times.
