What is TruthFinder?
TruthFinder is a search tool and background check service that lets you find nearly anyone in the U.S. by name, address, phone number or email address.
You can use the service to reconnect with family and friends or to view a person’s criminal history. You can also run a report on yourself if you want to see what information is available about you online. You cannot use the platform to screen employees, domestic workers, tenants or people who provide professional services, including tutors or doctors.
TruthFinder searches millions of public records and social network data across the United States and compiles all the information into one report. The report includes items like:
- Birth and death records
- Possible relatives
- Possible associates, friends, roommates or former romantic partners
- Detailed location information (current and former addresses)
- Contact information
- Education and jobs
- Social media profiles and dating profiles
- Assets, including owned properties and driven vehicles
- Criminal history, arrest reports and traffic records
Pulling a report on TruthFinder is anonymous, so no one will be notified when you perform a search or request a report for a particular person. The company has a free mobile app available in the Apple App Store or Google Play so you can make searches on the go.
TruthFinder cost
Requesting and receiving reports on TruthFinder requires a membership.
A one-month plan with TruthFinder costs around $28 per month. This fee lets users request unlimited standard background checks. Members can save money by purchasing a two-month plan for around $46. TruthFinder does not allow customers to pay for a single report, and you must contact the company’s member care department to cancel your membership.

Currently, there isn’t a free version or free trial of TruthFinder; however, Truthfinder offers a free search that provides preliminary information including age, location history and potential relatives. Most reputable background check services are not free.
How far does TruthFinder go back?
Results vary by person, but some reports go as far back as 15 years.
Can you do a background check with a phone number?
Yes. Through the company’s reverse phone lookup feature, you can search a phone number and receive relevant background information, including name, social media profiles, possible email addresses and locations.
Is TruthFinder accurate?
Yes. The more information you can provide, though, the more accurate your results are likely to be.
How do I cancel my TruthFinder account?
To terminate service, users must call the TruthFinder member care department.
Is TruthFinder legitimate?

Unfortunately, she had passed over 11 years ago! After much searching & many years. Fast & easy to use! Highly recommend! Best search site I've found. I am sure I'll use it again as it was great! If you really want to find someone, I think you should try Truthfinder.

I am working with a 95 year old woman to help her put together her list of her heirs. She knew who she wanted to leave money to, but had lost contact with several. Truth Finder was successful in finding the 3 missing individuals.

Agent was very helpful and took care of my cancelation right away. I did not realize the cost and did not mean to enroll so she got me canceled and I wanted to cancel it and get refunded and she advised I would get my refund in 3-5 business days. I'm a senior and not able to understand the site and navigate so not helpful for me.

Provided nothing useful for what I was searching. My wife was married 3 times before me and I was trying to get info on a previous divorce. There was nothing on her prior marriages or divorces. Not one thing. That advertising was the only reason I went through the process. So I gave 2 stars instead of only 1. Customer service was fantastic though.

They are scammers. I paid for one month and next month I'm billed again. Trying to get into my account: password doesn't work and numerous attempts to receive a link to reset password didn't work. The report was awful. Couldn't understand many things and compare to other companies' report was absolutely not usable.

This is a scam. I canceled the first day and have been charged for two months and can't get my money or it canceled. Customer service is a joke, no one reads emails.; Thanks for stealing from people under false pretenses.

It intentionally wastes your time pretending to be fetching data, only so that you have invested so much time in waiting, that you are more prone to pay for the data at the end. No data will be provided at the end without buying a subscription. This is unethical business practise, so I would never trust them my credit card info.

Claims to be free but when you enter the information you have to pay for at least a month before you can get the information! I guess the Ad I saw was just click bait to get you to spend your time filling out the info. And then charging you.

Is this a joke? I can’t imagine that people would give this 5 stars. I searched myself and several family members, there isn’t one things on any of these reports” that I would validate as “facts” let alone public record. Several hours later and $40 out and I have discovered that my great grandmother is “still alive“. My neighbor “owns my house” and I’m “a fugitive." Give me a break. Don’t waste your money or time.

I did a deep search for myself and others on Truth Finder. I was completely shocked to find that each person and myself appeared on the government watch list. This is completely false. Therefore I cannot endorse this site.

Truthfinder is a scam. I paid for one review and the company charged me monthly for over a year. I never agreed to that…I am disputing with my credit card company. They should be fined and put out of business. H **

In our day and age, I totally get keeping information as "secure" as possible. However, this site definitely is a disappointment. If you are going to charge for the information you have, SAY IT UPFRONT! Don't completely waste 10 minutes of my life. I will never get back with all this incredible information you promise to deliver only to tell me you won't provide it unless I pay up. Never using this site again.
