Regarding the subscription options, both our monthly and 3-month memberships provide access to the same features — the difference is simply the length of the billing cycle. With the 3-month option, you are billed upfront for all three months at a reduced rate. All of our memberships include unlimited Person and Address searches, meaning you are never charged on a per-report basis.

The additional charges you noticed were for optional add-on services such as Reverse Phone Lookup or Reverse Email Lookup, which allow you to search by a specific phone number or email address to identify the registered owner of that information. These are always presented as optional and are never automatically applied without your agreement.

TruthFinder is not the source of the data in our reports — all information is pulled from public records and commercially available data sources, and we can only display what is made available to us. We understand this may not always meet every member's expectations and we are sorry the service was not the right fit for you.

We also want to address the comparison to LexisNexis. LexisNexis is an identity verification service that uses multiple identifiers including Social Security Number, name, address, and date of birth to precisely match records to a specific individual. TruthFinder searches are conducted by name using publicly available data, which means results may be broader or less precise by comparison. This difference in methodology can account for variations in the information returned between the two services.

As for the information in our reports, TruthFinder is not the source of the data — all information is pulled from publicly available records and third-party sources. Over time, the availability of certain records may change due to updates in public record databases, restrictions imposed by data providers, or individuals exercising their right to suppress their personal information from being displayed on our platform. Thank you for sharing your review. We understand how unexpected charges can be frustrating, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify what occurred.

When enrolling in TruthFinder, members are guided through a registration process where all billing details—including automatic renewal terms—are clearly disclosed before payment is submitted, and users must agree to those terms to complete registration. Memberships can be canceled at any time through the online account, by phone, or via live chat.

After reviewing our records, we found that an account was originally created in September 2024 and canceled in October 2024. A separate membership was later reactivated in October 2025, and the service was actively used in December 2025. There was no cancellation on file for that membership prior to the online cancellation completed on January 16, 2026.

We also did not receive any direct contact from you before the charge in question, which would have allowed us to review and address the concern sooner.
