I ordered a Celtic ring for my daughter for Christmas, it had a guaranteed delivery by Christmas eve. I received it on December 30th and it was the wrong ring. I finally got the correct ring January 5th, and it was nothing like the picture. The ring looked like a 8.00 ring you would buy at the Dollar Store. The stone was cheap, the gold was already coming off and the saying that was supposed to be engraved on the inside of the ring was a peel off sticker. I can't believe I wasted my money, this has been an awful experience and I will never buy from or recommend them to anyone.

My fiancé bought this ring for Christmas for me December 2015. The picture looks beautiful but when I opened the box you could hardly recognize the ring. There are two rows of stones - one brown and one diamond like. The real stones are so small that you can barely tell what color they are. The imprinted names are so small that I had to get a magnifying glass to determine which way to wear the ring. Two weeks after wearing it under normal conditions, the gold tone color came off the band showing a silverfish color. The picture shows a beautiful ring and the real ring is embarrassing to wear. If you are going to sell a product at least be honest in your advertising. The product should be pictured and not an artist's rendition of what it looks like. I have retired this ring sadly to the back of my nightstand drawer. I hate it.

For the second time in the span of two years, I have received a phishing scheme email from The Bradford Exchange customer service listserv. The way this scam works is that the email appears to be a response to the individual's order request. I imagine the company will ship and bill and I infer that seniors – or English as a Second Language, individuals might be stressed into paying the invoice and keeping some ridiculous collectible. The first time this occurred the unfortunate customer service rep admitted the fraud and essentially offered up, "I need the job to pay my mortgage". Awesome way to do business and a really good old Midwestern sort of company in the tradition of the snake oil salesman of the 19th century.

I spend 4 months a year in Florida as a retiree. Home is Ontario, Canada. Attempted to purchase a 200 dollar item. Would not process as my billing address was in Canada and I was in Florida. I purchase many, many items on my credit card while in USA without a problem... Bradford Exchange seems to be operating in the dark ages. Disappointed that they still operate in an old fashioned way. Will give my business to others.

I ordered a pair of Texans shoes for my daughter for her 16th birthday, a full two months in advance. An email from Bradford Exchange 16 days later, confirmed my order was shipped and a tracking number was given. Fast forward 30 days later, and there was NOT a package at my door and the tracking number they gave me was invalid. Through the course of several phone calls, I was told the order was lost, to call in 3 more days to reorder new ones which I did, only to be told I had to wait first for an email with a form to fill out before they would ship.

The email never came so I called again. Then I was told "the shoes are shipping today as they are in stock." Since I wanted to make sure the shoes were really on their way and basically didn't trust anyone I talked to, I called again, but was told they were out of stock and I had to wait another 4-6 weeks to get the shoes!!! I demanded to have my account credited immediately. No doubt I will have to follow up on this as well with my credit card company, as I really do not trust Bradford Exchange in any way, shape or form.

I ordered a love's promise ring back in January, I paid $25 installment and received the ring. Our names are correct and the stones are correct. I'm pleased with it so is my girlfriend. I have now paid the second installment but the total I owe has not changed $99. I called customer service, late 10:30 pm 3/7/16 expecting a recording, a woman answers and asks my name and order number. I tell her I just want to know my total when she claims customer service is closed, then I hear another woman in the background laugh? Since I do have the ring I'll just keep it and those last two payments. Needless to say this is the time I deal with Bradford Exchange. Good luck to everyone who has a lawyer and/or case against this company. I'd suggest organization and honest practice if you want to stay in business.

I knew when I ordered the Christmas Nativity scene that I was taking my chances with this company. These types of companies have a habit of sending stuff you never ordered along with a statement demanding payment. Well, although they sent me the Nativity scene, it was sent piece by piece which was not indicated in the flyer when I ordered it. So I kept getting pieces of the scene along with a bill saying I could either pay per piece or the total amount. I paid the total amount so I would not have to keep paying out each time a piece arrived in the mail but I still get statements saying I owe them money. Then they sent me a duplicate piece and another bill! I returned it and a few weeks later, received yet another bill. When I tried to call the automated system, they did not even have a record of my account even though I entered the account number that was on my bill! I will NEVER order another piece of crap from this company EVER AGAIN!!

Last week I received a one-page postal letter asserting that I'd ordered a cuckoo clock from the Bradford Exchange of Niles, Illinois (The letter gushed about how "the careful crafting of a select quantity of 'PUG CUCKOO CLOCK' is near completion and your reservation was received in time to secure shipment. Congratulations!"). The clock's "issue price" was listed at $149.95, with "S&S" (shipping, evidently) of $17.99, for a total of $167.94 to be paid by credit card before the item would be shipped.

In fact, I never have placed such an order from any firm. And I never knowingly have provided the Bradford Exchange with my name or contact info. When I tried to call the toll-free number specified for customer service (800-323-5577), I was put into an endless loop of recordings, which about once a minute urged me to get off of hold with the option of mechanically entering my credit card number (I gave up after 15 minutes of being on hold.). Based on my experience, I'm not surprised by this firm's rock-bottom overall customer rating.

I found additional unexplained and unauthorized charges to my PayPal account after purchasing a ring from them. They evidently can charge my account for unlimited amounts without my PayPal password or authorization. This practice should be illegal. The ring ($128.98) I bought was returned for sizing & though my original payment was refunded today I received a bill in the mail for a ring I don't have??? An additional charge of $34.42 on my PayPal account still hasn't been explained.

My husband wanted the Ford Truck clock which he saw in a flyer from BE but I couldn't order it online since they didn't have it in stock yet. So I ordered the Mustang Garage wall clock instead. Although I thought it was pretty expensive, it looked great! The clock arrived (by MAIL!) only 5 days after I placed the order. It was in perfect shape, no broken parts. My only complaint is that it looks a LOT cheaper than the photo online. It's the sort of thing I might have paid $50-$60 for if I had seen it in a store. Still, I have it and it is intact and arrived more than on time, so he'll have it for his birthday.

I was told they were on back order. I have paid $203.80. I believe I have overpaid for what I received. The advertisement read $59.97 in 3 installments of just $19.99. I paid $76.43 on July 22, then $25.47 or $25.99 monthly after that. I actually had 2 payments taken out in October of 2015. They are telling me I owe them $25.49 for December. We understand the market has changed but now that we want to sell they advised us that they got out of the resale business (we assume as they oversold and saw the market tank) and referred us to eBay etc. We now see they are not selling or selling for much less than we paid. Hindsight is 20/20 but we realize that what they touted as being valuable is actually useless junk. I will never buy from them or recommend their company to anyone.

When I checked the status, I found that the date had been bumped to the 23rd. Getting toward Christmas I checked again and found the delivery date was bumped to January 8.

In January I checked and the date was bumped to the 18th of January. Then again it was bumped to the 28th of January.

Today, I find it has yet again been bumped, and the new date is the 28th of February. Never once did Bradford Exchange Online reach out to me and give me any explanation of the problem. Also, now I see the same item advertised by Bradford Exchange Online with a guarantee delivery for Valentine's Day. I have notified my credit card company not to honor any transactions from this company and advised Bradford Exchange Online, via their consumer support process to cancel my order..

Due to my 2nd payment not going thru off my debit card, my card was removed from the database causing them to send me a refund check which could take 30-45 days. Thirdly: I will be returning my doll order, # ** as I didn't like it, so would like to stop being charged for it.

The mocha is nearly invisible. It was not polished and jewelry cleaner removed tons of crud. This is the first and last time we will do business with this company. I have a few words to say about this company. I've worked for them as a customer service representative, and left the company for a number of reasons, not least of which was their bad business ethics. First of all. I collect stuff, and I like high quality merchandise (tools, clothes, whatever). I understand the value of paying more for something that is clearly better than something that costs less. Pay more money for a nice shirt, and you just might get a shirt that wears better, lasts longer, and looks nicer than the shirt that costs less. This is not so with the Bradford Exchange. With this company, you are paying more money for less. Everything that you can get from Bradford Exchange is available somewhere else for less money better quality.

This only applies to the stuff that Bradford sells but is available through other retailers. There's plenty of stuff sold through Bradford Exchange that is exclusive to them, and I guarantee that this exclusive merchandise is also low quality. We're talking about reproductions of canvas art prints that light up with LEDs, sculptures that have other artwork printed on them, circulated coins that have stickers of Obama fastened to them thus making them "limited edition" and therefore worthy of a high price tag. None of this stuff is low-priced, but all of it is very cheap.

Go ahead and buy that nice shirt because it just might give you that extra value, but none of Bradford's products are worth their dollar value. I mean absolutely none. And think of the target market of this company, based on the kinds of customers who would call into me with orders or concerns: Senior citizens on fixed incomes who wanted to spend their pension checks on something nice. This was one of the reasons I quit the company. I hated selling stuff that has absolutely no value. Not functional, not collectible, nothing. I hated selling junk, and that's what this company sells. And I hated selling this stuff to people who are likely to get ripped off. I hated preying on the elderly.

Next, I absolutely have to mention the horrendous customer service policy this company has. Yes, you can return your product for a 100% refund, free of shipping. Yes, if your personalized item is broken or done incorrectly, you can get a replacement free of charge and keep the broken/incorrect item you received. That sounds like a lot, but as far as customer service goes, that's not enough.

Christmas guarantees with this company mean absolutely nothing other than a refund of your money or a cancellation of your order. The item you ordered that was guaranteed for Christmas has just gone on back order and it's one week before Christmas? Don't expect to get any notification about this so that you can figure out a backup plan for your kid's/relative's Christmas gift. This goes beyond the extent of Bradford's customer service policy (again, not reaching nearly far enough, in my opinion). And while it's not the end of the world if you don't get it by Christmas, you are absolutely right to expect to receive it by Christmas, and if you don't get it by Christmas, you are absolutely right to expect some form of compensation that goes beyond a refund or more crappy merchandise. You are also absolutely right to expect a notification if your item has gone on the list of back orders that will not be arriving for Christmas.

Unfortunately, the only consolation that Bradford Exchange can offer you is free shipping and sometimes a discount on more of their other items (read previous paragraph on why this is not desirable compensation). Again, here's another reason I left the company. I didn't like ripping off customers, even if it wasn't actually me that was doing it. I didn't like being the hand of the thief who reached into your pocket and took your cash.

More on customer service. Customer: "I got this train set for my kid, I paid $89.95 for it, but I only got one piece. Where's the rest of it?" Me on the phone: "Unfortunately sir, that was $89.95 for one piece of the train. There are 22 pieces in total. It will cost you at least $449.75 to have a train that works, and $1978.90 to have the complete train. And it will take you almost two years to get the whole train unless you pay for all of the pieces right now. I can take your credit card number if you're ready?" What's with this marketing? Although it does sort of indicate on the website that the prices for train sets are on individual cars and not the whole train, why are the descriptions of the items designed to trick people into thinking that those prices are for whole sets of trains?

As ridiculous as this sounds, I would consistently get phone calls every day from customers who thought they were getting the whole set when instead they only paid for one piece. And the customer's reaction to the reality of the situation and the full price of what the customer was expecting was always the same: Shock and disgust, both of which were reactions that I sympathized with. Moreover, many customers had no idea they had actually subscribed to ordering the series, so within a month they were shipped another piece of the set and had their credit or debit cards charged with the bill.

Ever had your bank account overdrawn, or had your credit card charged on the day that you needed to pay the rent? If you've ordered from Bradford Exchange, you probably have, and if you haven't yet, you probably will soon. Another reason I left this company. I hated responding to customers who had been tricked or lied to by my company. I hated wrecking people's finances with tricky marketing.

I've worked customer service before. I've dealt with customers who have put money on the line, not gotten what they wanted, and became very upset. In the past I've always felt that I did the best I could to help my customers, that there was a way I could fix their issues and offer them the service they wanted at a price they could afford. Not with Bradford Exchange. This company is designed to trick people into spending their money on high-priced, low-quality merchandise. It targets people who are in need: Elderly persons with low income, families who desperately need Christmas gifts, veterans who served their country, and all other people who are in an emotional state that precludes them towards spending money. Isn't this basically what every company does? Yes, to some extent. But Bradford Exchange is much more insidious. Take my advice, do not learn the hard way. This is not a business you want to deal with.

On 12/23 we received one of the 2 (that were ordered at the same time) and not the other. I called again and was told it was on its way. Today I looked up the order number and it says will be shipped by 2/06, 2016!!! NEVER AGAIN!

I had a very hard time finding a Christmas present for my sister-in-law. Came across the Bradford Exchange and saw a beautiful Thomas Kinkade snow globe that I thought she would love, and was willing to pay almost $33 in shipping fees to have it arrive by Christmas. The website was full of "Express Shipping" available claims, which indicated the item would arrive by December 23rd. Well, here it is, December 24th and no package has arrived. So, I went in to track the shipment and it indicated that the order was "in process" and set to arrive in FEBRUARY 2016! For $33 in shipping it would take 2 months to get here! So, I called customer service and was told that the item shipped out today and would arrive next week--ok, better than February, but still not worth $33 in shipping that I paid to have it arrive BY CHRISTMAS as promised on the website.

When I requested a refund of the extra shipping charges I paid ($22 of the $33), I was told that they cannot offer "partial refunds" and the only way to get a full refund would be to return the item. I find that to be completely ridiculous. They lure you in with a promise of quick shipping if you pay a ridiculous amount, and then the item arrives when it would have arrived even if you paid for just regular shipping. So, now, if I wanted I could re-order the item with regular shipping, return the original order to get a full refund. I will order from Amazon and never do business with this company again.

So my mother could only afford a couple gifts this year and decided to purchase my father's and brother's Christmas gifts through The Bradford Exchange. In the advertisement that was in the newspaper we purchase, it said that if we ordered soon, that it would be here before Christmas. That same day, after looking at their website, we found the perfect gifts for my dad and brother. We did two separate orders on December 6. Like a regular store like Kohl's or JCP. We expected to receive it within two weeks. I didn't receive the shipment confirmation email for my father's gift until two days ago (December 21). So today (December 23), we received the gift, and we were hopeful that we would receive my brother's gift by tomorrow even though we didn't get the shipment confirmation email.

However, I received an email at 9:34 pm after customer service was closed, stating that my brother's gift would not be here in time for Christmas. We also paid in full and they have taken their money out when the order was placed. I even called customer service last week to make sure they would be here in time and then associate who I could barely understand said it would. They are liars and should be ashamed. I'm extremely pissed because my mother couldn't afford much this year. I will never purchase from them again and advise anyone against purchasing from them.

This was to be a Christmas gift and here it is Dec 23 and while it has finally shipped it will not arrive by their guaranteed Christmas delivery. Their customer service people seem confused, not one time did I get the same answer from their staff, only to tell me the item had shipped when in fact it had not. When it did finally ship the tracking info was not updated. This is my 1st and last purchase with this company. Hope he enjoys the picture of the watch that will arrive AFTER the holiday. Beware if you consider dealing with this company. I gave them a 1-star rating because it required a rating.

I checked the shipping status a week later and it stated only that the order was received. I called them and a customer service rep told me that is was on back order. I asked him why I didn't receive any type of notice stating that. He put me on hold and came back on the phone with "good news". He said that it's on back order but that one is being shipped out to me in 2 days so I would receive it by December 24th. I thanked him.

Well, here it is...December 23rd...... I check the delivery status and it stated - ESTIMATED DELIVERY - FEBRUARY 4TH. I called them back again to check to see if this is an error. They state no, the item is on back order. I reply by stating what their customer rep said last week. Her reply is that she has no record of a customer rep speaking to me last week. Well isn't that convenient. I never write complaints about companies, but I had to on this one. Not only did this company not tell me the item was on back order, but an employee lied about it and now I do not have a gift for my son. I have to run out now to get a new gift. Beautiful pendant with a nice chain. I was first a little upset because while I ordered all 3 at the same time I had to pay 9.95 shipping on each. On a 357.00 order I kinda thought shipping should be free but wouldn't have minded 9.95 verses 29.85. And then they came! After opening the first one, I quickly opened the second one thinking a mistake had been made. No such luck!

The pendant looks nothing like the advertisement and the chain was about the thickness of a thread. Plus the chains were in knots. I have never been more disappointed with a product in my entire life. Once the 3rd one gets here, they are all going back! I have seen higher quality items come out of a bubble gum machine. I'm enclosing a picture of what it is supposed to look like. What I got you can only read inscription with a magnifying glass.

I would like to thank The Bradford Exchange for ruining my wife's birthday. I ordered my product as a gift 13 days prior to wanting to present it. I had to call them 5 days later to get them to list it and return phone me that it had been shipped. The tracking number I was given did not work for 6 days, I called back at 4 days to ensure I had the proper number. FEDEX website showed that the item was delivered to them for shipping 11 days after placing the order and paying for it. The item arrived 3 days later, the day after the birthday it was intended to be used for (14 days after order and payment was begun). Bradford Exchange verbally and online lied to me that they shipped the item when it sat in their warehouse for 6 days in order to pacify me when I called to inquire as to why it had not been shipped out 5 days after payment had begun.

Yes, I could have paid an extra $20 to get it shipped in 2 days or $10 to get it shipped in 4 days but 11 days to process an order in a warehouse and deliver it to FEDEX for shipping is unsatisfactory. When I called at 5 days, I offered to pay more to speed up the order but was told that I could not do so. I would have to order a second (and pay for it) with a faster shipping then wait for the first item to be delivered, return the first item (at my expense), then wait for them to process the return before being refunded. If the order had been any indication as to their timeliness, I would have properly had to wait over a month to get the first refunded (11 days to process order, 3 to ship, 3 to return, probably 11 days more to process the return, and probably 11 more days to process the refund for an estimate refund date 39 days after the original order).

I have already contacted Bradford Exchange, told them of my disappointment and disgust at being lied to, and told them I want no further business, correspondence, ads, emails, letters, etc. Since then I received a response to that email telling me how sorry they are that I want to cancel any further contact (nothing about the issue at all) but they will promptly do so. Received 2 online ads (for some reasons it takes 6-8 weeks to take me out of the database for emails and mail) and this request for review of the purchase.

I used to view Bradford Exchange as an honorable mail ordering service prior to the internet. I remember the 70's, 80's, and 90's of television commercials of quality products that were ordered. It saddens me to see what they have become today; just another money grubbing corporation that will do anything to make more money to include blatant lies to customers, posting false information on their internet tracker, and ignoring customers' concerns. They still have fine products but it isn't worth the time or headaches to receive them. If The Bradford Exchange wishes to contact me about this posting, they are more than welcome to. But like the last customer concern email, I expect nothing but further silence.

Such information must be found by resort to collateral links on their site. The photo of the offered item shows a very pristine example leading one to wonder if the note one would buy is actually the one shown in their photo. The offering is silent as to this. Hence, I sought to call and ask that question at the customer support number they show on their site. I have called no less than two times. On the first occasion I was told by a recording that I would have to hold as they were busy with other callers. After holding for 20 minutes I hung up and decided to try again later.

Oops, guess I called a little too late because by that time they had closed for the day. When I called again another day, I encountered the same routine with a long hold and I hung up again. They are closed on Saturday and Sunday and offer no telephone support on those days. This company does not make it easy to contact them by phone and to obtain a real time response to one's questions. This to me is hardly a welcoming approach to invite online business. I also considered their shipping quite high a $9.99 for a $99.00 item which weighs next to nothing. Their website would not let you put in a bank name, only the routing number from your check, which I did. When I finally received the checks over two weeks later, a very long time in my opinion since my husband ordered checks from another check printer the very same day I did, later in the day, using the same shipping method I chose, and he received his checks for his account over a week and a half before these came, mine had the wrong bank name, I called them and they told me to call my bank to see if the routing number was correct.

I did that and the bank told me the routing number should have been automatically corrected since it had been almost a year since the bank was acquired by another bank, and they should replace my order. When I called Bradford back, I was talked to in a manner that was hateful to say the least, with her telling me it was my fault and there would be no refund or no other checks issued, that I should have verified my information. I am furious and wonder why in the world there is no blank to fill in your own bank on their website! That would have alleviated this whole situation. And I cannot believe I was spoken to in the manner I was!

Ordered two boxes of checks and when I received them the account number was wrong. Instead of correcting the mistake they blamed it on me and told me that since I ordered online they would not reprint them. She said that I must have copy and pasted the number in wrong, but then I explained to her that I manually typed my account number in and then triple checked to make sure the account number was correct. So just a heads up before ordering checks from them.

I then called Bradford Exchange and they told me, "Sorry for the inconvenience" and they would ship another one in 4 to 6 weeks but refund my shipping cost and I agreed. Today, 6-4-15, it was suppose to arrive and my wife was excited to finally get the ring. Guess what? No ring. It was lost in transit again and they once again said they would ship another ring in 4 to 6 weeks. Not happening. I will go to someone else. Guaranteed by Mother's Day and still not here by 6-4-15. My problem started back in April 2015 when I tried to order a gift for my mother on Mother's day. When I placed the order there was no information about this item being out of stock. I did receive an email apologizing Bradford Exchange made a mistake about what they had in stock. Okay, but I did not receive this email until weeks after my order was placed by me and after repeated attempts by email to try to find the status of my order. Finally a customer service rep. (CSR) suggested I change my order for something they had in stock. So I agreed just so my mom would have something. Guess what, still no PACKAGE!!! So my 83 yr. old mom did not receive her gift and as of this date 5/16/15, a month after I ordered the second item!!

I spoke to ** a CSR on 5/13/15 ** and she tried to find my order and even she had trouble finding the order. When she did find the order, ** stated "She did not understand why I had not received my order by now". ** did tell me I should receive my order By 5/15 - as of my time 5/15, I have not. To refresh your memory, this is my SECOND ORDER FOR THE SAME ITEM. The first time I tried to order this it was on back-ordered, for a month. This was Bradford's fault because there was no information online to show the item was not in stock. I want some type of compensation for the inconvenience and false information you have given me.

I am a first time customer of the Bradford Exchange and my experience was just downright terrible. I ordered this ring to give to my mother on Mother's Day and so I ordered it 7 days before Mother's Day so that it would have more than enough time getting to me. I purchased from the Bradford Exchange because they guaranteed that the ring would get here before Mother's Day and also they promised that the ring would ship out with FedEx Express shipping. Immediately after purchasing the ring I contacted the Bradford Exchange letting them know how important it was that I receive this ring before Mother's Day and they replied with some generic copy and paste message letting me know that I will be 100% satisfied guaranteed.

I received a FedEx tracking number the next day letting me know that a shipping label had been created. Four days later it was Thursday and the tracking hadn't updated from "Shipping label created." I was getting a little nervous and contacted the Bradford Exchange regarding shipping. No reply and two hours later the tracking number finally updates letting me know FedEx has received the package and it will be here one day AFTER Mother's Day! I was not too happy to see that as this gift was very important, but what let me down the most was I took another look at the FedEx tracking and realized that this was not FedEx Express shipping as promised but this was the cheapest form of shipping FedEx SmartPost which takes 2-7 business days to be delivered.

I felt kind of lied to - well I guess actually I was lied to, there is no other way to put it. I contacted the Bradford Exchange a third time and well four days later I still have not heard anything from them. I guess they figure "Hey we have his money just ignore him now." I decided to go and pick up the package on Saturday a day before Mother's Day as I saw that the package was in my city and well it was a must that I get it before Mothers Day.

What I have to say to the Bradford Exchange is that you may think it is okay to promise something or make a guarantee and not follow through with it and just ignore your customers but you need us customers. We have a choice to do business with you or with someone else. I took a screenshot of their website a day after I placed the order for the ring and as you can see at the very top it says "Today is the LAST DAY to Order for Mother's Day Delivery with Express Shipping." Thank you for reading my experience with the Bradford Exchange.

I am being HOUNDED for a sum of money I cannot what it is supposed be 'I bought?' I first had a reminder for thirty two pounds 94p on December 16th 2014. Because it was so close to Christmas and I had a lot to deal with as well as feeling unwell I called to question the demand. I checked my cheque book and I had sent a cheque for that amount on 12th November but I had not put details which I normally would have beside each payment I make. But circumstances as above I authorised a ''debit card'' payment.

On 20th December I had reason to be in the bank and 'discovered' Bradford Exchange ''had'' taken TWO such sums of money. Angry I wrote right away receiving NOTHING - no apology no refund of even one of the payments. I had 4 more illnesses as well as other problems to handle. I am 77 years of age and whilst able to manage most things others get put on the sidelines somewhat.

Phone calls hang on for ages then get cut off. Even on lo-rate calls it all adds up. I had to live with a family friend because of my health and that covered a while, still recovering or would be with less stress! So on 28th March 2015 I arrived back to the usual pile of mail, and another demand for Thirty two pounds 94p plus a Bradford Exchange cheque for that exact amount? Also a letter that stated 'that I owe the sum of Thirty two pounds 94p in relation to a cheque payment received for same amount because MY bank was unable to process the cheque? The last cheque I had written for that sum of money was 12th November 2014.

I wrote again photostated everything and sent it Recorded Delivery. I requested complete information and return of this mysterious cheque! I asked for an investigation and report. I had no reply and then??? 11th April 2015 I received a Bradford Exchange cheque for Thirty two pounds 94p refund due to "overpayment?" and yesterday 18th April 2015 Demand plus threat of additional costs. Sorry this is so long.

UPDATED ON 07/03/2015: I had demands and threats for a payment with just an Invoice number. No information what 'it' was for. I wrote many letters, phoned to listen to crap music then be cut off. Even recorded delivery letters and emails. I always put on the correspondence "Let me know what this rising coerst article was?" If I had that information I could assess the problem. They froze my account as if I cared! They demanded increasing sums of money charges for a debt I did not have.

I was so angry I contacted Trading Standards. One call from them, they required my permission. I called to allow that permission. The member of staff wanted to discuss 'my problem'. I politely told her that after months of requiring just that it would now be dealt with by Trading Standards. My contact hadn't even time to do anything official and I received a letter that I do not owe anything and an apology for my inconvenience. So for others with similar problems it is a way to go.

Postage is paid by GB NCH634. Inside the letter contains a supposedly crown coin and an invoice saying that money has been taken out of our account and that we will receive another coin in a month's time. My worry is that if this kind of letter is sent to an old person, they might think that they have actually ordered something and have to pay for it. Can you please advise?

Since Christmas has already come and gone... I figured I'd hold off until their birthday which is 1-11-2015, however, the date has changed 3 times in as many days... Their customer support is worthless... Lamely answering emails... No alternate product offered or no resolve.. So I called them today.. Was on hold for over 45 minutes... I hung up... I placed an order online for a bracelet, it was going to be for my son's Christmas gift. When I placed the order (early December), it stated that I would receive my order before Christmas. I received an email stating that my merchandise was prepared to ship on the 17 of December. As of today, December 26, 2014 I still have not received my order. I phoned my credit card company & they verified that my account was charged on December 18, 2014. I have started a paper trail with my concerns. On December 23, at 8:21 pm I emailed the following address - bradfordexchangeservice@bradfordexchange.com. This email came back to me as Failed/Rejected. On December 24, at 7:23 am I emailed the following address - Bradfordexchange@updates.bradfordexchange.com. Once again this email came back to me as Failed/Rejected.

I also made attempts to call this company at 3 phone numbers that were listed - 866-285-2334, I was placed on hold for 1 hr & 10 mins, I finally gave up! (12/23/14) 800-323-5577, I was placed on hold for 1 hr, I finally gave up! (12/24/14) 866-285-1736, with my home phone & at the same time - 800-323-5577, with my cell phone (BOTH on hold for 1 hr). FINALLY, I got customer service on the line!!! I voiced my concerns, I was told that - Yes - my order was received in Early December. Yes - my order shipped out priority mail on December 17, 2014 (5 day delivery). Yes - my account was charged on December 18, 2014. I should have received it within 5 days with priority mail, but obviously it has been lost in route. They are sorry that I did not receive my order for Christmas, BUT at this time they can not credit my account Nor send another bracelet out to me. Because technically it's Not Considered Lost until it's 10 days late!

So, after the 31st of December, I can call them (& wait 3 hrs for them to answer) & let them know that I Did Not receive my merchandise & at that time they will send another one out in the mail. Also I brought it to their attention that the email I received about the shipping confirmation stated that I would receive this merchandise by USPS. BUT, the tracking information stated that I could go to UPS MI.com, I went to the tracking site that they offered, I was told there was No merchandise with that tracking number.

OK, which is it? UPS (United Postal Service) OR USPS (United States Postal Service) it can not be both! OMG!!! I'm so confused!!! I replied, NO! At this time I do not want the merchandise, I did not want it after Christmas!!! I requested them to Cancel the order & Credit my Account ASAP!!! I was told that they can Not honor my request until December 31st of 2014, AFTER I call to inform them that I Did Not Receive my merchandise! If I receive this merchandise on or before December 31, 2014, I can either choose to keep it or use the Return label that They provide & return it for a Full Refund. Until then, I'm pretty much SCREWED!

So, I contacted my credit card company & I Will Dispute any charges made to my account from this company! After reading SEVERAL COMPLAINTS & REVIEWS, I'm even More concerned because I've read that some people Did Not receive Prepaid Return Labels & others state that it took Months for the Credit to be placed on their credit account.

I can honestly say, They have met their match! I will be their Worst Nightmare until I get Satisfaction Either Way! So Sad because I Really like this bracelet & I know my son would like it also. If this is All resolved & I'm Satisfied with the results, I will Gladly change my review. I'm not out to attack Nor slander a company, I'm just So Frustrated with how this is All playing out. I understand that things get lost in route, once received, the merchandise may not be as nice as you thought or that the holidays may make it harder to get problems resolved... But to have Both emails Failed/Rejected & to be placed on hold at 3 different number for such a Long time, it's Totally Ridiculous! I hope that within the next week or so, I'm able to change my review with a Positive review.

I complained by email and got no response and gave up. Turns out my Mom loved it so no harm done. This year I ordered and was guaranteed delivery by Xmas... Still waiting for the special music box I was giving my daughter for Christmas. I ordered it on November 25!! In early December, I called the Bradford Exchange as I had not yet received a shipping notification. At that time I was told I would be guaranteed delivery by Christmas. Called again earlier this week, was told the item was no longer on the "guaranteed for Christmas delivery" list but that since I had ordered so long ago the company would overnight the box and I would definitely have the gift by no later than 8 p.m. Christmas Eve.

Well, it never came. And now it is the day after Christmas, and still no notification of where this item is. So calling them again is worthless. They have their reps lie and say it's coming instead of just admitting they screwed up. I would never order from the Bradford Exchange again, not just because they failed to deliver my item in time but mostly because they lied repeatedly. Bad PR to treat a customer (especially a new one) that way. Thumbs way down, BE!

When I didn't hear from them, they said that due to the high quality specialty item, it wouldn't ship until AFTER Christmas. So I complained. In early November, a ring showed up. Covered in "Made in China" Stickers, this "Handcrafted Beauty" had a stone that looked like a broken piece of Pink Plastic. Nothing like the Red, Clear ruby in the advertisement. I sent it back, with specific complaint and instructions that I wanted on that looked like the picture, with a ruby stone. I got back the same low quality piece that I had returned. I have sent several letters in to get this cleared up, but no response. Crap stuff made cheaply in China that isn't what they advertise. When I contacted them via e-mail, they gave me the address to send it back to, but did not provide the prepaid label until after they received my clock back. I had to pay for shipping both ways. When I got my new clock, it was the same one I sent me back. They sent me the exact same clock back. How did I know that, because they put the mailing label over the existing one. I peeled the top label off and it was my original mailing label. They glued the figurine back on and shipped me back the original clock. They didn't even replace the figure, they just glued the original figurine back on. Also, the packaging now had duct tape on it. If they had sent a new clock, no respectable company would use duct tape on their packaging.

She then transferred me to a Supervisor.

After waiting a very long time for him to answer, I was finally connected. I re-explained everything and asked him why I wasn't notified before now, and why the delay. His explanation was they wait to see how much interest is generated in a pre order before they even authorize the manufacture or shipment of the product. I told him this is a deceptive practice and an estimated ship date should be published, especially during Christmas Shopping Season. He said he would pass it on. I asked to who. He said to Marketing. I said I wanted to talk to Marketing myself. He said I can't, I can only talk to Customer Service. I stated for the amount of money they charge for their items, they need to be honest and not deceptive in their advertising and marketing. He said he agreed but that's just how it is. He offered to send an apology letter with $20.00 off my next order. After canceling this order, there will be no next order!

The last experience that I had when attempting to order from the Bradford Exchange was dreadful. First, I waited for the item to 'come back in stock', as it was on back order. After that occurred, it was on back order again, then again, both times receiving notification of the delay. Finally, when my item finally shipped, it was NOT what I had ordered. I immediately called the Bradford Exchange, and instructions on returning the item were provided, and the Customer Service representative apologized, and said he would correct the problem by ordering the item that I had originally requested. I kept a close eye on my order status for about two weeks, with shipment indicating an 08/15 date. 08/15 came and went, only to find out that my order awaiting shipment 'disappeared' from the order status screen. Only the 'returned' item remained.

The following day, my wife indicated that money was returned to our account for the item that had originally been ordered. I called the Bradford Exchange again, and after about 15 minutes found out that my item was no longer available, and that a letter was forthcoming. Through it all, there was never an indication that this item would no longer be available, and the non-caring attitude of the last Customer Service representative was inexcusable. Be very cautious of ordering from this company. They make promises that they can't keep, send you items you don't want (and, by the way, the wrong item had the same item number), and then couldn't care less about how this makes you feel. It's like 'oh, well, too bad....'

I ordered two pictures that were Kinkade's. I received them and decided that I would not open them, and I sent them back. I emailed them to let them know that I sent them back. I ordered them on my bank card. I didn't hear from them for a month. I called them and asked if they received the items back. They said that they did and it would be 6 weeks to process the refund. I waited the 2 more weeks that would have been the 6 weeks. They said they sent the check to me. They told me it would be 7 to 10 days to get it to me. I waited until the 2-week mark. No refund.

This is mid-May now. I called them and they said that they sent the money, and I asked to what address did they send it to? They said my address. I told them they needed to add my PO Box as I ordered it. They had not added it to send the refund. They said we have to wait for 30 days in order to get a re-issue. I waited the two more weeks. I called them back and they said that they could issue the check. I asked them to put the P.O. Box on the refund so I will get it. The customer service agent said "You got the pictures with that address didn't you? That is the same address I will send the refund to you." I said you need to add a P.O. box to that or I won't get the mail here. It is too rural. We do not get mail here. He said ok and I thought he proceeded to enter in the address. He said it will take 5 to 7 days to get this check. I waited the 7 days and still no check.

I called to find out where my check is. The customer service agent who answered said that it was mailed. I asked her to what address. They said it was the physical address not the P.O. Box. I asked them why wasn't the P.O. Box put on and she said that she was sorry. That she would put it on and they would re-issue the check. It would be 7 to 10 days and it should arrive. I am getting irritated but I agreed. I waited to the 5-day mark. No check. I called them again. I got another guy this time. He of course was apologetic and he said normally they have to wait 30 days, but he would put it right through and it would be another 5 to 7 days and I asked him what address does he have? He recited the physical address and not the P.O. Box number. I was very irritated and I said that I have asked them to change the address to a box number every time I call in. They won't add it. He said that he did and it would be there, assuring me. 7 days went by and no check.

I called again this time and the girl answered and she said that he didn't put the request in until the day before I called. I called on a thurs. The customer service agent put it in the day before, which was a wed. I was told another 7 to 10 days. I just called today it had been 7 days and the supervisor is who I talked to. She said they mailed you a check in May. I was livid. I repeatedly told her they do not have my address right. I wanted to know what address they just supposedly mailed it to and it was the physical address. I came unglued. I have continually given them my P.O. Box number.

The supervisor said that that screen is not the same as the order screen. I asked her why they don't put it in the returns screen. How hard is it to put the right address on that screen. This has been going on since April 2014. It is now almost August 2014. How is it that I keep getting your catalogs but can't get a refund check. They owe me about $150.00. She kept saying the screens are not the same, they are different. I said I bought it on my bank card. I was told they didn't keep the number so it can't go back on my card. And furthermore, I can't get another re-issue until after Aug 3. Then it will be another 7 to 10 days.

I told them to put the P.O. Box number on it or I will not get it. She asked if she could put it on with the physical address. I said, "Yes! Would you please?" So I asked her if the P.O. Box number is not on there now. She knows full well that I am not going to get the refund I am entitled to. Why not re-issue the check now? She said that she has to wait for the 30 days. I will not need to contact them. I am sorry but I will. I don't trust them. I don't feel that I will ever get my refund.

They WOULD take a new order over the phone to avoid "customer error" at the same cost the first order. I will block any communication from this company in the future due to the lack of customer service.

I had ordered two Nature Poetry Table Lamps and had receive both but one was damaged. I had called your office and had spoke to Mark who was manager and had explained to him the problem and he had stated for Mr. to return the damaged lamp. I did send the damaged back to your company. And he had sent a different lamp that I had asked him to send to me instead and not to send a replacement lamp for the damaged one. I also had order the Golden Spike Cuckoo clock of which we had received damaged. I had sent the lock back asking for money credited to my account. Well the clock was sent to your office early part of June. It finally arrived after having problems with the post office who probably delivered it by horse and buggy. I had spoken with a supervisor whose name is CANDY. SHE ALSO WAS RUDE. Your customer staff are very rude. I would appreciate receiving a check for dealing with such rude people.

Disney Castle Snowglobe collection - My husband ordered this as a Christmas present. I was supposed to receive one snow globe a month for 8 months and on the 9th month the castle platform to place them on. I have currently received 2 snow globes (it's July). My husband called them a week ago since I hadn't gotten one since February or any reason why they weren't coming. They're back ordered for months (even though my husband placed the order before they were officially available). They sent the castle because that was the only item they had in stock. Went to place a snow globe on the castle and the top decoration came off the snow globe. It's been handled one time when I took it out of the box to place it in the cabinet. Poor craftsmanship, poor painting and poor delivery of the product.

My niece was graduating high school and she has always loved Tinker Bell and I knew this necklace was the perfect gift for her! For several months, I was anxiously awaiting the arrival because I knew she would be so excited. I received the necklace about 2 weeks ago. I was so excited I couldn't wait to see it! I opened the box and I almost cried. The necklace was NOT what I was expecting. The detail was so poorly done. Her legs are in a different position. Her face looks like a blob of metal and no detail whatsoever. You could not even tell it was Tinker Bell. It was such a letdown. I was totally deflated. I immediately called them and they sent me a return slip, but it was like "Ok, you don't like, I'm sorry. We'll refund your money - no big deal."

It was a very big deal to me. The picture on the website is not what you get. I am so disappointed with inferior quality of this necklace. It left me without a graduation present for my niece. I am not a person who buys gifts quickly. I think about it and I search for the perfect gift. I will of course make this up to her but they need to advertise exactly what you are getting, not the inferior cheap knock-off that they sent me! This will be the last jewelry purchase I ever make with the Bradford Exchange!!

On 4/8/14, my sisters and I agreed to go in together to purchase a ring for my mother. A one time full payment rather than a monthly payment. None of us have a lot of money so $40 a piece was the max that we could afford. On 4/19/14, we had the money together and I ordered the ring. I waited a week and did not get a shipping notification. So I checked the website and it said it would ship late April. I can not recall the date. I said, okay, so they had to engrave our names on it - fair enough. I check the day it was supposed to ship and it was pushed to beginning of May. I was a little annoyed but let it go, figuring maybe they were behind due to it being mother's day. I'd have to wait my turn.

The next thing I know it's scheduled for the 5th. Now I'm getting frustrated. They keep pushing the date back with no courtesy email advising me of the fact or apologizing for it. I send them an email advising them of my frustration with no response. Yesterday was 5/5/14. Guess what. It wasn't shipped yesterday. Now I'm growing furious. I check it today and it says it will not be shipped until 5/8/14. Mother's day is on 5/11/14! I sent them another email today (not that they ever responded to my first one) and if I don't hear back from them by tomorrow then I will be calling them. Their website specifically said when I ordered from them that I would have the ring by mother's day. If the ring is not here by mother's day I'll be contacting the Better Business Bureau and I advise everyone who is having trouble with this company to do the same.

I ordered 3 bracelets from Bradford Exchange on 3/1 - one for my father for Father's Day, one for my Grandmother for Mother's Day and one for me, just as a treat. Two of them were received 3 weeks later (Dad's and mine). Fast forward to 4/12... I'd heard nothing from them about the 3rd bracelet, so I logged onto my account online to check the status and it showed that the item would ship on 4/23. I was not happy about that, but at least I would have the bracelet to give her on Mother's Day (she's been wanting this for a long time, so I was very excited about it!).

So, today (4/23), I was expecting to receive an email stating that it had been shipped, just as I did for the other 2. However, instead, I found a postcard in my mailbox stating that "Due to unforeseen delays, we will not be able to ship your item until 07/24/14," and "If this date is acceptable, please call our 24-hour Reinstatement Line" to place the order again. Are you KIDDING me?! You made me wait almost 8 weeks to tell me you couldn't ship my bracelet until almost 6 months after I ordered it? Not only that, but if I still want to get my order, *I* would have to initiate another request/order to get it! I am absolutely furious. Now I have to scramble to find another suitable gift for her for Mother's Day. So much for planning ahead for once and finding the perfect gift!

This is absolutely unacceptable and some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. If you don't have the product available to be shipped, here's a great idea - DON'T ADVERTISE it and SELL it on your site!!!!!! I will never again order another thing from this company and you can bet I will be blogging about this, Tweeting, and posting on Facebook, Google Plus and every other media site I can get my hands on to let them know what a pathetic rip-off of a company this is. I ordered a personalized ring on 11-20-13 and gave all information required. It was guaranteed to be delivered for Christmas. I called back on 12-10-13 to check since I hadn't heard a thing. Was told they didn't have some info right so my credit card didn't work but it was already and just waiting for payment so it could be mailed out. They couldn't call because the guy that took the order didn't take the phone number right. I gave everything to them again and was told it went through this time. I changed the shipping address to my parents house as that was who it was for anyway and they don't live in the same city. Said it will be mailed right out.

Never heard a thing and called back 12-19-13. Talked to a Jessica who said the ring was sent to the jewelers for engraving. I said I was told it was already to be shipped. She got nasty and said they wouldn't have told me that. I asked if it was being shipped to my parents address. She told me she only had my address. I told her the lady I talked to last time said she changed it. She said "well I can change it now". I said "so if it was supposed to be changed last time how do I know it will be changed this time?" She said "well you can call back after you hang up and check again. " Just what I want to do, sit on hold for another 1/2 hour! So I did and it's a good thing I did. This time I talked to a Kelsey who said the shipping address was changed and read the correct address to me. Then I asked if it would be there before Christmas. She started checking and found that they didn't have any of the personalized info or size in their files for the ring. I said "how could that be that none of the other people I talked to could tell me that?" She put me on hold for almost 1/2 hour while waiting to talk to her manager. She finally came back and said her manager said my order would be made a rush order and would try to get delivered for Christmas.

I called back 12-24-13 to check again and got a Sherry this time. She said it wouldn't be shipped till at least the end of the year. I told her that they said it was supposed to be guaranteed to be delivered by Christmas. She said "sorry, I can reimburse you the $9.98 shipping." I told her that is nothing for all this trouble. So she said she could give me 40% good-will discount. I told her ok. But the good will is all gone now! Well it's 1-1-14 and I just got an email yesterday saying that it was being shipped out. In early December of 2012, I placed an order for a Thomas Kinkade snowman from The Bradford Exchange. They provided me with a tracking number, however, the tracking of my package stalled while the package was in transit and I was unable to obtain any information on what the situation was. Not entirely the fault of The Bradford Exchange, and not my main complaint. When this purchase finally found its way to me, it was not in time for Christmas. To make matters worse, what I received was a Disney Tinkerbelle statue of some kind. I returned it, vowing not to order from The Bradford Exchange again, as the buying experience had been a headache from the very beginning.

This year, however, I saw an item that I felt would be perfect for a co-worker - a NY Yankee bracelet - and though I felt it was a bit overpriced (silver plated, not real silver for $120), I purchased anyway. My thought being that perhaps last year's mishap was just a fluke. Nope. I placed my order on December 14, 2013. When I finally received my tracking number on December 19th or 20th, it said that the package would arrive on December 24th. Too bad I needed it by December 23rd. Now, The Bradford Exchange has a big banner on their website guaranteeing delivery by December 24th for all items purchased by December 22nd?! How is it that an order placed 10 days before Christmas Eve can't get here by the 23rd, but if I ordered later - had waited until December 22nd - I could have it delivered on the same exact day?? Never again.... this will be the second time I have ordered a Christmas gift from this place only to be forced to run out at the last minute to buy something else.

There was no receipt of purchase. Overall an EXTREMELY disappointing experience. I might as well been dealing with an overseas ebay client. I believe they have lost my business permanently. The only way I would consider further business is if they rectify this purchase with an exchange of a very near perfect 1921 Morgan like the one pictured. I'm not at all confident that will happen. :-( First photo - what they claim to sell you. 2nd photo - what I received. 3rd photo shows case. 4th photo shows back of coin - feathers on breast worn, heavy mark under arrow.

How are a company allowed to take your money then ignore you without so much as a receipt? Alarm bells are ringing. I have just read lots of bad things. Before I paid, I was told I would receive my goods in two days. For reassurance, I tried ringing them few times, number out of order. Then I got through to automated service saying it will call back in one hour. When I log in, I'm told the same as yesterday, information update in 24 hours. By tomorrow, I think my money for the goods will be gone from my account. I don't think I will have my goods tomorrow even though I would have paid express delivery for this date. Watch this space.

I placed an order on 11/27/13 and the order shipped via FedEx SmartPost. FedEx has no record of the tracking number. Bradford has the same information from FedEx that I have. The rep I spoke to now says because of the holiday, the shipment times may be as much as 15 business days instead of 7-10 as advertised on their website. I had contacted them three times about this shipment and every time was told I had to wait it out. I told the rep on this morning's call that this was unacceptable and to resend the item. She said I would have to pay for it. Um, no. Told them to resend the item and if/when the first shipment showed up, I would refuse the package.

Told her that the website was misleading and that my frustration level was reaching its limit due to unacceptable answers. She excused herself to speak to a supervisor. When she returned, she said that they could resend the item, IF it wasn't out of stock. She then went on to suggest another item. WHAT? I'd have to be barking mad to do any more business with this company. If anyone starts a class action lawsuit, call me, I want in.

This is a 40 year old, very reputable company. I got a very nice agent on the phone with me one day who explained to me that most of their customers are very mature (60 years of age +) and these people are dealing with speaking with people with dementia, deafness, etc., etc., many times a day and over and over again. They have a very mature customer base and have been in the business for long enough to prove that they aren't "scamming" anyone. If you feel that way, it’s because you either did not read the ad properly and thoroughly, or call to double check the appropriate information before placing your order.

I have dealt with this company for over 10 years (I am 65 myself) and any sales representative I have spoken to has been more than willing to help me with any dilemma that may occur with an order. Keep in mind that I worked in a call center for a large company for 25 years of my life and understand that it is not the fault of the person that you are speaking to on the phone that is relaying the information to you. Be angry with the company all that you want, but they are loyal to their customers in the end. I have received a vast number of beautiful collections from them and I won’t stop ordering and speaking to their lovely representatives on an as-needed basis anytime soon.

It's a mail-order company that still does things the way they did 40 years ago. There's something about that to be appreciated in my opinion, in this day in age. By the way, my granddaughter is typing this for me right now. I'm not very computer savvy. But as I said I have spoken to many lovely representatives from Bradford and my experience is if you can be patient with them, they are certainly patient and polite with you. It's not the kind of place where you get something overnight, but they don't overcharge or "scam" you and you get exactly what you ordered.

Make the call, read the fine print, and don't be afraid to ask questions over the phone. They will make it very clear. I have been very happy with this company. It is not as instant as everything these days, but I can be patient. Getting my next cat statue, precious moments figurine or personalized ring (while VERY exciting to me) is not the end of the world. Treasure life and not the material things you are waiting impatiently for it to give you because you paid for it. Patience is a Virtue.

There are a series of e-businesses that I get purchase and invoices from mailed to me from address Milwaukee Avenue Niles, Illinois such as Bradford Exchange and Doubleday Large Print books and several others. It started with Doubleday Large Print books being sent to me when I never ordered them and then. They demand payment or be sent to a collection agency. I live in Minnesota, so we have an if unsolicited products are sent, we do not have to return products. This company targeted a senior/disabled apartment complex. There were at least 3-5 people from a 160 unit complex getting books from them with an invoice saying that we ordered this stuff, when, in fact, we did not. They are relying on old age and illness to not see through a scam or not remember that we did not order anything.

After several times where I did not return the unsolicited goods, the strategy changed to just send me invoices for goods I never ordered, claiming that I did order them and that I must send payment to them. As far as I know it is illegal for a business to pretend that you ordered something and go so far as sending products and invoices claiming that you made the purchase and to pay up. I am sick and tired of companies trying to scam me by claiming I actually ordered something. I consider this a violation of ethical business practice. Not to mention they stole my identity by claiming that I placed an order when I have not. To doubly piss me off, they are preying on old and disabled hoping they do not have enough cognitive function left to realize that they did not order anything and hand over their limited and dwindling resources to these criminal organizations.

The reason I said criminal organization is the fact that several e-businesses from the same city and almost same addresses are applying almost identical methods to steal your money for stuff you never actually ordered, or even from those who do order something buying into the whole scam. This is a scam hidden behind a legit business set up as part of its smoke screen. I read other reports about Bradford Exchange and other companies from the same area that been sending me mail such as above letter, and noted a pattern like not sending product after money was sent or it's of lesser quality; threat of collection agency; threat of lawsuit; changing of tactics when one method does not work; when you take legal action on one company, another company takes over and sends mail of tactics similar or same as the one you just stopped through legal action.

Main legal actions is reporting to attorney general and Federal Trade Commission. Sending letter of stop actions and warning them of the fact a report has been sent to the government along with copy of letters. With regard to the above letter, I want you to note the fact that they said I ordered this and the giving me platitudes for making the purchase. Also note about the next installment will be charged to your account. First off, installment can mean several things like your "next order," "this order" and more. They do not specify which it is in this context of letter. I think this was a legal attempt to give themselves the right to do things that would otherwise not be allowed like a terms of use does. Also, account could mean your banking account for the next partial payment or the next invoice or both or some other. Since they are vague on what it means, they most likely mean the worst based on other reports of being billed for things they didn't order.

I would love to see legal actions taken against these groups of e-businesses. I did not keep some of the old invoices because they were piling up. I am tired of receiving these, and I am afraid as my health and memory deteriorates that at some point, I will cave in because I will not remember that I did not order anything from them. The letter has been refined so now they are so bold as to outright claim you placed the order. In the past part of the letter, they admitted in some way it was a solicitation and not an actual order.

PS: This may be important to the IRS. They do not collect sales taxes. To me this is a deliberate attempt at tax evasion using the online e-business loophole. Anyone who makes a purchase from them and does not pay the state, their user sales tax is committing tax evasion as well. I do not know if this is a deliberate attempt by the criminals behind the Bradford Exchange and Doubleday Large Print books to turn average citizens into criminals as a leverage over us consumers. Like if we pursue legal action, they threaten to report you to IRS for failing to pay the sales tax. This would only work for those who fell for this fraudulent scam and paid them.

In November 2011, I purchased the St. Louis Cardinals World Series Train set. It was going to be a gift for my husband for Christmas. Mind you, this was purchased in the beginning of November. December arrived and no train (I did realize they would be sent a piece at a time, but I thought, surely, I would have at least received something). The middle of December arrived, and I still received nothing. Trying to get in contact with customer service with this company is like pulling teeth. Not wanting to get out of the holiday spirit, I just let it be.

January arrived, and I began receiving cards stating they needed to make sure enough people still wanted this product; it was being backordered I guess. So each time I received that stupid card, I had to call a number, which of course just had an automated message saying I still wanted the train. Finally, by the end of Summer 2012, I began receiving a piece at a time of the train. Of course, they weren't delayed in charging my credit card. Each month, two different charges would show up on my statement, but I didn't always receive a piece of the train. The last piece I received was in December 2012, but for January and February, I was still charged.

This time, there were three charges on my card. I called two different numbers for The Bradford Exchange and waited 45 minutes for each one. Finally, I gave up and called my credit card company and just told them to block any future payments. It was simpler to eat these last charges and move on than to wait any longer dealing with this ridiculous issue. It's really a shame because, in previous years, I have made purchases with no issues or complaints. They really need to work on their customer service, or lack thereof.

On December 6th, I ordered a ring set that was set to be shipped on the 17th, so I could receive and give it as a gift on Christmas. This was on my confirmation receipt: "Your total cost will be billed in interest-free installments. The first installment will be billed at time of shipment. Subsequent installments will be charged to your credit card on a monthly basis until the item is paid in full." So I had payment set to come out on the 17th when it was set to be shipped the first day.

Well each time I would log on to check the status, the date would change. On the 18th of December, I called when the date again changed to the 19th. I was promised by 2 different people 2 hours apart that once my payment went through overnight, they would upgrade the shipping and I would have it before Christmas. I logged on this morning and the shipment date had changed yet again to the 21st. So, I called back and spoke to a girl who did not see any information that I was promised yesterday by the second person they had seen exactly what had been promised to me.

I asked to speak to a supervisor and he told me my order was never sent to be personalized and that after I made the payment, it was sent to another company. I explained what I was promised and that the man assured me I would receive it before Christmas because I was not authorizing the payment unless it would be here on time. They took my payment after promising me and now they refuse to refund me my money. They now say I have to wait 4 to 6 weeks and return the item and then it would take another 30 days to credit my card back. I am not a rich person and cannot afford to throw money away or even let anyone hold it for 2 months. Please do not order anything from them. They are con artists and lie to just get your money.

I have a special needs child and I could have used that money that I let them steal for something he may have wanted or needed and/or bought another gift to replace the one that this dear person will not receive at Christmas now. So unless you are rich and just have money to throw away, I recommend you take your money and buy from someone who will abide by their promises.
