Someone accessed my account from another country and started racking up charges. I immediately contacted Etsy and they basically did nothing. There are two customer service numbers on the internet and neither of them work. The only way you can interact with a human is via a chat function. I finally got someone on the other end of my "chat" and she asked me a bunch of questions and assured me someone would be in contact with me in the next 2-72 hours. It has been a week and I have not heard from anyone at Etsy. And now they have locked me out of my account so I can't even access the customer service "chat" function. I am now working with my credit card company to decline the fraudulent charges. I will NEVER use Etsy again. They basically don't have a customer service department and don't care if someone hacks into your account and runs up a bunch of fraudulent charges. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE, PEOPLE!

98% Positive. I love Etsy, have found many unique and cool things over the years, mostly Positive experiences. I am experiencing more and more Sellers not responding to questions about an item or receiving my money for an item then not mailing it and not responding to messages. I had one seller blatantly lie to me and other buyers about not receiving items after we were told they had been shipped, they had not been. This particular seller would then lie on the reviews, Funny her shop is closed now. Does the administration look over sellers' commitment to the buyers and or check on the Sellers' Reviews to keep dishonest sellers in check? I will keep on supporting the Stellar Sellers who show Respect and Professionalism as I will towards them.

I had a store opened recently on Etsy. The money for the listing fee was taken out of my account. Upon receiving my first official sale my account is now deactivated and the sale was cancelled by Etsy. I just received an email with no explanation other than the sell was cancelled. I attempted to log into my account and got a message that my account is deactivated. You have to log in to be able to contact them. At this point I am merely frustrated. I feel like I have wasted my time posting items on Etsy. I have been a customer on the platform for several years. I will no longer be a customer or attempt to reopen the store account. This is a lesson well-learned. The only thing that I am concerned about is that my banking account information is on the site along with my other personal information and I am unable to delete it.

I had been selling on Etsy for 5 years. I'm a high volume seller on other sites with a lot of experience. Once the admins give you a warning it is downhill until they suddenly shut you down. I was selling to 250 buyers a month bringing in to Etsy about $5K in fee revenue. The nature of my items is that they may not be fulfilled in a timely manner. I received a warning in 2017. I was suddenly suspended a month ago where I refunded a lot of orders and improved since. But there is no such thing as improving after receiving their warnings. It is walking on eggshells thereafter. One buyer can ruin it all.

I suspect they listened to ONE buyer complain. I am surprised that they choose to suspend growing sellers bringing in $5K in fees YEARLY for them over the POTENTIAL of losing the fee revenue of _$37_ of POTENTIALLY some _5_ buyers. What's more, if a suspended for good person calls them their protocol is to hang up the phone. Very unprofessional. I did not even mention the admins do not bother spending the time to read the email messages and rather respond with generic messages.. Incompetent admins not knowing between friend or foe.

I ordered with Blueorchid Creations for my wedding on December 2018 through Etsy. I was told to pay the full cost of my order upfront at that time (no other options were offered) and an agreement was sent to me confirming final approval photos of my product in July 2019 with shipping of the final products in August 2019. Four problems arose with this order:

    1) The order was severely delayed.

    - Despite regular messages to request information on my order, final photos were not sent until September 2019, 2 months late. My order was not delivered until Sept 30th, 2019, one month late. No clear explanation was given for this delay and while they were always quick to respond to messages, I only got updates on my order when I messaged them first on a weekly, sometimes daily basis.

    2) The flowers are shipped on their side in regular shipping boxes.

    - This means the bouquets all came flattened on one side and one of the boxes holding all the bridesmaid bouquets literally got crushed since there was no fragile label or special box used. Blueorchid creations doesn't claim to ship them upright, but I felt buyers would like to know this as it would have certainly affected my purchasing choices had I known I would be responsible for reforming and fixing my products after shipping.

    3) The garland I ordered was changed without my approval.

    - Blueorchid creations sent a photo of the garland to approve prior to shipping - which I loved. However prior to shipping they added multiple huge hydrangea arrangements to it. This was upsetting as it meant I received a product not as I had ordered and was now faced with fixing it myself or returning it and hoping no more delays occurred so it could be returned to me in time for the wedding.

    4) I was made to pay for a product upfront that was not shipped for over 6 months.

    - By requiring full payment in December 2018, this meant that when I received damaged and wrong products on a delayed timeline in September 2019 I was unable to open a case on Etsy (only available for 100 days post payment) and unable to leave a review on Etsy to warn other buyers (only available for 100 days post payment). This is a huge gap in Etsy's buyer protection policies and Blueorchid creations has benefitted from it as there was no way for me to review them or open a case against them.

I contacted etsy via chat and email to discuss these concerns and heard nothing in 2 days. I called them after finally finding a phone number for customer service (very hard to find) and was told there is nothing they can do and there is no way to leave a review as it is past the window. It is absurd that they allow sellers to charge buyers so far in advance of shipment of the product if they are unwilling to support the buyer when that product arrives.

I ordered an item from a seller on Etsy and paid through PayPal. Not realizing the item was shipping from Hong Kong at $7.53 shipping, I quickly contacted the shop requesting to cancel and refund the order. The seller promptly issued a refund through Etsy but I have to wait 17 days before I can open a case and get my money back. Etsy holds onto the money so they can use in their bottom line to earn interest for the days until they issue the refund. This is a shady and undesirable business practice. I will now shop some place for the cross stitch items I need domestically and hassle free.

It is so easy to add an item to your seller list with the Etsy app. Each category or question that needs to be answered is very easy to access and complete, unlike other company seller apps that make it difficult to view what needs to be completed and that you have completed that category. Etsy is the absolute BEST!

No now both myself & the seller are out of pocket. I had no idea they were not as safe as Amazon or EBay. Started a new account with Etsy. Listed several Democratic party clothing items for sale. None making any disparaging remarks about any party. None mentioning which party, other than the obvious based on the candidate name. The items simply read X person for President Election 2020. Etsy suspended my acct. They have ignored so far three emails requesting what I did that amounted to a violation, so that I can correct the issue and not repeat. They have sent no email as to why. Nothing at all. Nowhere on my suspended account does it indicate a reason.

I feel an employee at Etsy (of a different political persuasion) and with the power to suspend my account, sabotaged the account out of spite. There are tons of political shirts on Etsy. It was probably not done through the normal channels, so no email is being generated by the system since it's probably not on the radar to be corrected by the seller. All the other reviews talk about how they are making a living on Etsy, seems you are one unpopular design away from being fired from your job then. Just started with Etsy, very skeptical at this point.

I have used my social platform to communicate with such shop owners, just like you! If this is you please feel free to leave a comment and we will do our best in numbers to get a resolution, I am in contact with several lawyers and at this point with it being so many sellers that have been violated we need to proceed with a class action suit then so be it, Etsy and their unethical practices need to be stopped.

At this point I am going to contact a lawyer. If you guys do not contact me back I did nothing to violate your guidelines, and I have already connected with approximately 175 ladies in 24 hrs that have experienced the same thing as I, you guys suspended me for no reason, you tell me to contact you and then when I do you say don't call Etsy anymore and that you don't have any information to give me???? I have no logos, no copyright infringement, and you can tell me what I have done. I have an order and you can't tell me what to do about that. This is ridiculous!!!! I don't want to jeopardize the integrity of my shop by these bad business practices. This is unprofessional on your part, and I am req info on why my shop has been suspended. I have over 100,000 followers on social media and this is not RIGHT at all.

At this point I am not interested at all with selling my product on Etsy, but the community of sellers that have been violated by you and your bad business practices have set up a fund to get a lawyer and proceed with a class action lawsuit for this mishandling of our accts. I will hope that someone will contact me with in 3 business days to discuss this manner before we proceed. This will not end well and bring unwarranted publicity to your company. We are willing to use our platform to reach out to new stations, social media, and recordings of the calls where we are rudely told do not call anymore - whatever means to shed light on these unprofessional business practices that you have for your sellers.

I ordered a "custom made" dress for my upcoming wedding and upon arrival less than two weeks later, I took it out of the bag, tried it on and I realized was so huge on me. I was swimming in it. I had provided my exact measurements from head to toe, as requested. Until then the seller was quick and responsive but when I asked about this she avoided me for a few days. I took the dress to a seamstress to ask for her opinion about this dress and she said it looked like it had been made in China. The quality was low, the hem jobs were sloppy. She said "You have to send it back!" I was afraid I might not get my money back so I left the dress in her shop (she had a long waiting list so it will be weeks before she can do anything with it).

I began a dispute with the seller. Since I have loved Etsy for years I figured they would side with my case. But no - they made me wait for over a week and after several of my phone calls, someone finally sent me an email reply saying they closed the case because I had supposedly "altered the dress". They completely failed to read correctly the back and forth details between the seller and me. I had NOT and STILL HAVE NOT ALTERED THE DRESS IN ANY WAY, SHAPE or FORM. I wanted to send it back for a refund. However, since I had mentioned bringing it to a seamstress for evaluation they used this against me. That would never have happened if the seller was honest and replied to me in a timely fashion!! A friend even reached out to her for me to ask what was up.

With Etsy's review team there was no nuance, no case, no questions asked of me. No matter how many times I tried to get someone to listen to me they just gave me the same answers and apologized that I wasn't pleased with the results. Etsy just lost a fan and a customer. Shame that they can't keep track of fraudulent sellers and what's even worse is that they were completely wrong in their assessments and unfair in handling the dispute that I raised.

With recent changes made to Etsy, they are becoming increasingly more difficult to work with. Etsy is not seller friendly and are seemingly ‘focused’ on buyers rather than the shops that make up their website. ‘Free shipping’ is not only misleading to customers (due to your fees being included in the overall price) but is also a tremendous burden on business/shop owners. Etsy also charges more fees to sellers than Square, PayPal, EBay, and other top selling sites. Their customer service department is not helpful to sellers and is too focused on the buyer ‘protection’ and new algorithm geared towards Etsy’s personal agenda. Definitely look into other seller sites before choosing Etsy.

I sent an e-mail to verification@etsy.com as instructed on the Etsy website with a promised response of 24 hours. I followed up with additional e-mails and filed a case complaint verbally with Etsy at which time they promised a 24 to 48 hour response.

It has not been 7 days and 6 days respectively with no response. I just called and told it could take up to 3 weeks but that I wouldn't be receiving a response because I don't have an "Etsy Account." Obviously they have no business ethics, no concern for their sellers and certainly no grasp on reality if they think I am going to open an Etsy account so that I can get a response to fraud. Obviously Etsy is only interested in revenue and will let all problems be duked out between buyers and sellers without protecting either. This company has no integrity!!!!

There were buyers who paid for an item but Etsy payments didn't go through after 5 days. Perhaps these buyers were paying through their bank account but it's annoying to have your item off the market. Etsy's policy is you can only sell items over 20 years old unless they are handmade. Etsy has thousands of amazing artisans, crafters and resellers from around the world. Some amazing vintage and antiques can be found on the site but you'd never know it from Etsy emails to subscribers or any of their advertising. We pay the same as everyone else, but get very little support. Moderators and staff know nothing about these categories or items unfortunately. Vintage to them is a style and not a time period with very specific characteristics and terms used to describe items.

Since going public it's more about cash grabs from sellers to make shareholders happy, i.e.: raising fees and charging the same 5% on the damn shipping right off the top. Then there's the processing fee on top of that. The cost of doing business there has dramatically gone up. Etsy doesn't realize that without sellers and their shops, they would cease to exist, but recently their CEO described the 'churn' that as disgruntled shops close, they are easily replaced so all the people that helped build the site, made them tons of money are worthless trash that can be replaced. Nice isn't it!!

The latest is the 'free shipping' scam that is not just a scam, it's illegal. A scam to make some quick money for Etsy that will cost buyers more money because people have to raise their prices to offer free. IF you buy more than one of anything, you're paying a helluva lot more than you would if you bought two and paid shipping. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FREE... people have to pay for it and small shops with small margins can't afford to eat that money, especially since doing business on Etsy has gone up so much like I said before, and most will agree that postal and courier rates are insane. Buyers also will be paying more taxes in their state because the shipping is rolled into the price as Etsy suggested shops do, and they normally wouldn't have to pay on their shipping.

Who makes out like a bandit? Etsy of course taking more money from sellers and buyers. It's outrageous and many have reported them to the FTC for questionable business practices. SO a great place to shop with high quality but getting to the point where it's not so good to be a shop owner and lots of people are baling and finding other options where they can actually make themselves money for their hard work and time.

As a seller I received zero support from Etsy. There is no clarity or transparency around how to speak to Etsy as a seller other than the seller handbook which did not answer any of my questions. The seller handbook focused on customers, not sellers. The website does not function properly either directly or through the app. I was never able to get into my shop items individually except via listings or a general search. They charged inexplicable fees for VAT and taxes on sales payable outside the UK even though I am non VAT registered and fees for listing, renewal, plus their 10 percent for sales and shipping, the latter of which has nothing to do with them and was introduced as an extra. Sellers were extremely unhappy with this but Etsy still introduced it.

They have recently told sellers that they must ship any orders over £25 to the US free or they will stop promoting the shops. This instantly raised prices for customers and disengaged many sellers. I left Etsy on principle as their last tactic represents corporate bullying. I am unable to see the logic in this as they must have lost a chunk of their buyers and also sellers. Is it not illegal to make this kind of demand? There is no clear or transparent policy on how sellers can complain. I am unclear how they get away with this but they are doing so. Please do not buy or sell on Etsy or collude with their corporate greed.

I signed up for an Etsy account to dropship items from Aliexpress (resell items listed on Aliexpress). Dropshipping is allowed in Etsy's terms and conditions and there is hundreds of drop shippers on Etsy. Everything was fine until one buyer lodged a formal complaint she hadnt received her item. I replied giving her the postal tracking number showing the item was on its way. It was not late it was still actually in the timeframe specified in the product description and the buyer did later receive her item. However in the meantime Etsy banned my account saying "I gave the buyer a negative experience" I tried to reply and explain there was nothing wrong with the order and I had given the customer the tracking number but they replied simply stating they wouldnt respond to my emails.

Since then they have posted on my Etsy shopped that I'm banned "suspended". Everyone else with orders still on their way freaked out thinking they may not get their order. I gave everyone worried their tracking numbers and assured them the items were on the way. In one case Etsy asked me to provide proof of shipping. I provided tracking number, screenshots of my Aliexpress account showing the item had been shipped, more proof the item was being shipped to the customer's address, even proof from the postal service yet Etsy refunded every customer who asked about their order even when I provided proof of shipping and even when the customer received their product! I am out hundreds of dollars for these refunds and not to mention they still took their "selling fees".

I literally did nothing against Etsy's terms and conditions. I was an honest seller. I was able to provide any proof they asked for yet they banned me for reasons not even accurate and discriminated against me as an individual dropshipping when they allow hundreds of companies to do it. And when I contacted staff they ignored any proof I provided and anything I had to say.

Etsy is now pushing for free shipping which would be fine if it was truly free shipping. Instead, Etsy is now showing their sellers how to say “free shipping” by building the shipping cost into the base price. It’s false advertising. Allowing the consumer to think they’re getting free shipping when the price of shipping is included in the price they pay. If Etsy insisted in a “shipping included” banner, that would be honest. But shipping is not free in this instance. In addition, sellers’ shops and livelihoods have been threatened. Etsy plans to give special treatment to sellers who comply with this “free shipping guarantee”, while other sellers who either can’t afford it or who have ethical objections will be relegated to the back pages of search, probably never to be found. This is dishonest, unethical and puts businesses in jeopardy.

Since the item was not delivered, the seller deleted all his information and lost connection, so I contacted Etsy by phone and writing at the time of delivered information was sent. The person on the phone doesn't take care of it, after waiting for 4 days, I was told by Etsy Integrity team that they don't take care of that either as far as the customers' protection, and the decision is final. THEY HAVE THE WORST SELLER CUSTOMER SERVICE. You cannot contact them by phone, and when you email them, you don't hear back for days, disrupting your seller account. Also, if you have 1 ONE problem with a difficult customer, they suspend and close your shop. If you are looking to be a frustrated shop owner, Etsy is a good place to start!!!

I told her that since it was her fault I didn't think it was right to make me pay the return shipping. She then refunded my payment and cancelled the order. By cancelling the order, a buyer is then unable to leave a review of any kind. She did this on purpose so I could not leave her a negative review thus not allowing other potential buyers to see what poor customer service she offers. I have since contacted Etsy to see what if any recourse there is but I suspect there is none. I think this is a poor practice on Etsy's part because again it doesn't allow for real reviews if they are negative.

He asked 100 dollars for it and I had to get it because that shop had almost everything in one place. Ordered a few packs of various feathers and just ordered extra charge for that amount then it got sent to random post office location because my condo was not allowed to sign to take the parcel. No one informed about signing. The problem here is the MISSING SLIP. A few days of delay was alright still since the the owner like every other shop owners, warned me that after its out of his hand for delivery, he has no responsibility when any issue happens on delivery process. Who would expect for a missing slip and pay for anything for shipping?? I visited around all near post office near my place and asked but nothing was found.

While I ask the owner where it is, he keep says check the slip that I must have gotten. NO SLIP. That's what I was keep saying. Then asked him to help me get the spec location for this because even the tracking num couldnt find the address. Just says local post office. Not even which post office. I opened the case for it and that's when he responded with spec address. That's 2 weeks after the order. HA.... This was supposed to be used for my engagement shoot and it was already done as scheduled. I asked full refund including the shipping fee thats extremely expensive for some pack of feathers and we argued a lot in the conversation on the case. I escalated the case after 3 days with no solution. NO RESPONSE from Etsy whatsoever.

Chat with them for it, the next day, got an email from someone from special help team and informed me that they have closed the case just because the owner has successfully done everything right on his part. I mentioned about missing slip so many times in the conversation and even on the support chat. How weird... NO ONE mentioned about the missing slip. Whatever they are thinking, no one wants to get responsible for this sort of issue on my end and I want to ask do I deserve to pay for 100 worth of dollars for this great nightmare experience? I'm still keep talking to them fact by fact but its just being ignored throughly. AWFUL FEELING. Wasted my money, time, effort, and love I had for Etsy. Just a bad luck huh? DONT USE ETSY. I've been an Etsy buyer for almost 10 years, spending easily thousands of $ on both domestic and international purchases. Most (85-90%) of my dealings have been error free. However, the handful of times I've had issues have been so stressful and the process so drawn out that they've outweighed the good. Be especially careful with international sellers, which add a layer of potential complications.

In the past 6 months, I've had to open 3 non receipt cases with non responsive or combative sellers. And though I *eventually* got my money back or the item resent, it was very stressful. One of those 3 lasted more than 4 months! The Etsy customer service reps kept telling the seller to refund my money ($230) or her shop would be suspended. Nothing. That went on for a week or so before I finally filed a complaint about Etsy with the Better Business Bureau because they don't enforce their own policies! Bottom line, there are a lot of honest and professional sellers, but the few rotten apples greatly overshadow them. Especially when you could potentially be out hundreds of $. Like other people on here said, having a lot of 5-star reviews doesn't mean your experience will also be stellar.

I have been a seller on Etsy since 2008. They have changed their selling parameters and fees many, many times since then, for the worse. They now charge sellers three or four separate fees every time they sell an item. A listing fee, a percentage of the sale total once an item sells, a “processing” fee and a relisting fee. They charge fees unfairly and I feel that they are trying to create profits for themselves by robbing sellers, a little at a time. Taking an extra 20 or 40 cents from every seller for each sale may seem like it is not much, but multiply that over millions of items.

For example, I have some items with multiple color variations and all are unique. I had a listing with four items available. I sold three to one buyer in a single transaction leaving only one more available. I had already paid the original listing fee and it was still in effect. I was charged three separate additional relisting fees for each item that was sold even though there was only one more item available. Stealing from the sellers is business as usual at Etsy. Perhaps they think stealing small amounts will not be noticed by the seller, but I noticed and called customer support. They told me that is how they do it. Charging three listing fees for the single item is unacceptable.

I also believe they have the shipping calculator set up to overcharge the customer if the seller is not using the Etsy labeling. I have to refund more than half what they charge the customer for shipping every time because they overcharge saying they are using standard postal rates. This is untrue. I send my items from the post office via priority mail and it never, ever costs near what Etsy charges the buyer. I believe they are using tactics designed to discourage the buyers from purchasing from sellers not using the Etsy shipping labels by grossly inflating the shipping charges on sellers not helping them profit even more than usual from the shipping fees.

There is no reason whatsoever they should take a percentage of what the buyer pays for shipping. That is theft in my opinion. It is not money paid for an item, it is the shipping cost. They do not have any business taking money out of the shipping cost. They constantly pressure sellers to offer free shipping even when it would cost more than the sale price of the item to ship it because it is heavy. I do not believe Etsy runs their business with any kind of honesty or morals. They use others who work hard to create unique items and then bleed them dry.

The other one supposed to be GREEN amber pendant that was sent from EurikaGems in the UK. Not enough that it took 2 weeks to arrive, they send me an ORANGE amber, which I didn’t order, nor care for, since I have plenty of orange amber pendants! When I send her a message, she blamed me for it and said I ordered the orange one. And when I sent her a pic of my order and ask if “she can read English cuz I see the word green” she told me I was rude, and said she won’t exchange it! I think it’s outrageous that a shop send you the wrong item, blame you for it, and when you prove them wrong - they acts like a bully! They should have exchanged it on their expense since it was THEIR mistake NOT MINE!!

I’m sent a copy of my order, and open a case on Etsy, and their response was I need to try to settle it with the seller, before they consider to step in!! Don't buy on Etsy, their customer service is outrageous, and when you have a problem - well, you have a problem!! I will never buy anything from them again!!!! P.S, I paid $9 for shipping, plus $15 for returning it - TOTAL OF $24!!!!

Original Review: I ordered an amber necklace on May 12th, the seller sent me an email that she sent the it on May 13th. Today is May 24th and I still didn’t get it! I looked at the shipping tracking number, and the delivery company said “There is no info for this delivery”. I messaged the seller 2 days ago, she never got back with me. I asked them in a chat conversation to refund my money or send me the necklace, they say I needed to open a case with them. Don't buy anything from Etsy, 'CAUSE IF YOU DO HAVE A PROBLEM, YOU HAVE NO ONE TO HANDLE YOUR COMPLAIN! NEVER WILL BUY THERE AGAIN!

I finally received what I ordered on May 8th today which is May 22nd. I found dealing with the seller to be in extreme ordeal. For one I asked a question concerning the price because it states the price is $99.95 yet when you go in to read the information concerning the product it says $89.95. I never received a response to that email, after three further emails I still received no response until I actually contacted Etsy.

Quite frankly I did not find using Etsy easy at all. I will not ever purchase from the seller again and I probably will not use Etsy again as I found the support to be questionable. I'm a long-time Amazon customer and any time I've had a problem over the years Amazon has contact me immediately and took care of the issue. This seemed to be a runaround both on the seller's part and on Etsy's part. They should have been more proactive with their customer service but were not.

I have a couple of friends that sell on Etsy and they seem to be happy and satisfied for the most part with the way business is conducted but do admit there are flaws that cause issues that could be easily avoided. However I was not at all impressed. It's probably why I don't shop on Etsy or Ebay much. It's just too hard to navigate and the helpline is less than helpful.

I have been a seller on Etsy for several years and have 3 shops. I have another family member who also had opened a shop long after I had mine with a similar product line. They however, had a copyright issue and their shop was suspended. Three months later, all 3 of my shops were suspended without any notice or emails or reason. The shop notice said due to late payment. Which I owed no payments. They held back my deposit from my shop sales. So I messaged them several times to find out what was wrong.

First they replied that I had a copyright infringement, so I pushed back as I had not. Then they replied that I opened a new shop as a policy violation to get around previous copyright complaints. Which was also not true. So I argued again for details as to what or why they are accusing me or anything. Then finally they replied that my "account shares sufficient information with an account whose privileges have been revoked for us to consider them related" and so they were suspending my privileges as well. So apparently "guilty by association" seems to be reason for them to just shut you down. Not to mention in the email they also implied that I was actually the other person too. But they would not "disclose the specifics of our internal review criteria".

In other words they can just shut you down and not provide any information and then they ended with... "We will not respond to further inquiries about this. Our Terms of Use state that we may terminate your account (and any related accounts) at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice." So they are holding my deposit of sales for 2 months and will not be reviewing or allowing me to appeal. So I cannot even prove to them that they are wrong in their accusation and my business has nothing to do with the other person. They have very bad business practices, and enough loopholes in their policies that they can do anything they want and you can do nothing about it. Do not waste your time and let them control your money and business, eventually they will likely do it to you too.

I bought a pair of "coral" earrings on Etsy. This was my first purchase from them. When I received the item, I realized it was made of plastic. It was not coral. Apparently somewhere in the fine print it says synthetic, but everywhere else it was indicated "coral". I decided to send it back. The seller kept saying she did not receive it. So, I never got reimbursed. I tried to log into Etsy to report it, but it keeps saying that my email is not valid!!! (I have successfully registered). It was a lot of frustration--many trips to the post office to try to find out why the parcel was not delivered. Anyway, I'm out of $70, just for trying to buy a pair of coral earrings!

I tried multiple times to message the seller (with a lovely blurb beneath “messages” that the seller would usually respond in 2-3 hours), even right after placing the order. NADA. ZIP. I received an email on October 25th (my wedding was Sept. 22nd), that my order had shipped from Ohio (I live in NY). Two months later I still had not received my order. I contacted the seller asking for a tracking number, no response, and I also contacted Etsy Support and received an automated response. Sellers should not be allowed to cancel a transaction without contacting the buyer first. Buyers shouldn't be penalized with the exchange rate when the cancellation doesn't originate from them, and transactions should not be removed from purchase history when cancelled, but marked as cancelled.

The seller had almost 1500 positive reviews, so I thought it would be great, but the reveiws mean nothing, because you can't actually leave a negative review now. The silicon molds I got, after a ridiculously long delay (months) were shipped exactly 24 hours before I could open a case. Upon arrival, one had scratches and rough spots, one was good, and the third, most expensive one, came apart on the first cast.

I reached out to the seller, and she accused me of using a tool to remove the casts. That pretty much indicated to me that opening a case would be useless, since I can't prove a negative. I absolutely did not use a tool, but there is no way to prove that, so I gave up. I'm out $200, and I'm furious. Etsy should go out of business for their utter lack of support for buyers.

I've made a total of 3 purchases from sellers on Etsy and 2 out of the 3 purchases has been a poor experience. First purchase was a custom dog tag for our dog. I placed the order, paid for it, and never heard anything from the seller until I reached out asking what was taking so long to receive my order. Finally got a reply and the item that I purchased. It took a long time to get the tag, but I eventually got it. (This is the positive experience).

My second (and largest) purchase was for a reborn toddler doll. This was a very pricey item that I had been saving for. I placed the order and heard nothing from the seller until I reached out to her. This doll was a custom and took 3 months to complete. The entire time the seller never emailed me with pictures or emails to keep me updated on the doll's progress like she said she would in the beginning. I was promised the doll by my birthday, however, my birthday came and went and no doll or communication from the seller.

I then emailed asking where the doll was and was told she ran out of materials and had to wait to finish my doll. The entire time she was taking orders for more custom dolls. I hounded her every other day AFTER the date that was promised. I FINALLY received my doll 2 weeks late and was very disappointed. The doll did not have certain things I asked for such as a magnet for a pacifier. Also, one of the doll';s legs made a squeaking sound, the arms were not jointed, etc. Overall I was very dissatisfied with the doll.

I probably could have filed a complaint and asked for a refund, but honestly, I wanted nothing more to do with the seller, so I decided to sell the doll on a popular auction site and take a loss in hopes to recoup some of my money back. I listed the doll and the seller found my listing and emailed me hounding me about why I was selling the doll. I felt like I was being harassed by the seller. I purchased the doll, she had her money. Our contract was finished. What I did with the doll after that was none of her business. I stopped responding to her emails and blocked her from contacting me.

My last transaction was done yesterday 04/29/2019. I purchased a custom iPhone case from a seller in California. The shop's listing stated it would take 1-3 business days to make the case and another 5-7 for shipping. Great, no problem. Once I order and pay for the phone case the seller emails me saying it would take 3 to 5 business days to make the product but if he has other things to do then give him a couple more days added to that time. Then he states that shipping would take 4 to 5 weeks!!! WHAT?!? I responded to his email letting them know that the new time frame given was not acceptable. The store states no cancellations or refunds, but I opened a dispute with PayPal to dispute the charges. Now I have to wait to see if this seller is going to hold up his end of the bargain, or I have to wait 11 days before PayPal will refund my money.

I'm not a hard person to please. I buy an item and pay Immediately. All I ask for in return is keep me informed on my merchandise and hold up your end of the deal when I order a custom product. I've came to the realization that most of the sellers on Etsy seem to take on orders that they can't deliver on time. Every single transaction (yes, all three of them) the seller has had zero communication and customer service skills. Therefore, I will no longer purchase anything off of Etsy. You have very little recourse as a buyer. The sellers don't seem to care about communication. They are quick to take your payment, but lallygag when it comes to getting you your merchandise that you paid for. I can also tell you that all three stores I ordered from had positive feedback. How, I'll never know.

Therefore, you will not be able to leave a review for a bad seller, and you also won't get the link to open a case. I do believe the seller does this intentionally sometimes. At this point, I have never sold or even listed a single item on Etsy in my life, ever. Now, 3 years later, they are trying to collect $86 that they say I owe them. I said that, since they never transferred control to me, I don't owe that money. They say that my payment details are on that account, and I need to pay them. So they want me to pay $86 for something I have never used. Here's a snippet of their email:

"For this reason, we cannot allow you to assume control of this Etsy account, even if the original account holder approved this transfer. To clarify, as you did not create this account, we cannot allow you to assume responsibility for it going forward. Please also note that, according to Etsy’s Terms of Use, “the person whose billing information is on the account will ultimately be responsible for all activity.” You’re welcome to read our complete Terms of Use here: **. Since your billing information is currently on file on the account, that means you're responsible for any outstanding issues or charges." Note that the wording is that "they cannot allow me to assume responsibility" for the account, (I've never been able to access the account) and yet they want me to pay. How does that even work? This doesn't seem very customer-centric to me. My summary: stay away from these shysters.

I purchased a piece of jewelry the first of Feb for a gift. Several weeks later I tried to find out where the item was because it still had not arrived. A week went by before the merchant provided a bogus tracking. When I complained about the bogus tracking, they provided another tracking that simply stopped tracking short of actually delivering the item weeks ago. With no further information available, I asked the merchant for a refund and they have refused. I asked Etsy to get involved and they simply said an investigation needs to take place. I said that an investigation needed to take place weeks ago when I first alerted them of the failure to deliver. Now, there has been no response. I purchased 5 items through Etsy and had problems with three of the items.

I don't know what kind of due diligence Etsy does (or does not), but whatever it is, it's failing. Based upon my experience, I would avoid this site at all costs because if you have problems, they will not help you resolve it and based on my experience, there will be problems 60% of the time! What kind of business can create a website for other people to sell their stuff, then not perform and the website that represents them (and takes your money) has zero accountability for performance. I plan to meet with my friend the District Attorney next week about the complete lack of accountability to see what we can do to make an example of these clowns for the future.

I ordered a platform bedframe from an Etsy vendor called Peace Love Wood and I would not recommend working with these guys. I placed the order in mid December and the Etsy site stated the bed frame would ship in 3-5 weeks. It felt like every time I tried to follow up on when the bed would actually ship I kept getting put off with “we’re hoping to ship it next week but can’t guarantee anything.” It was after about three times and into February that I threatened to cancel the order and it wasn’t until then that they actually got in gear with getting the bed finished.

When the bed arrived a piece of the hardware was turned so the rail couldn’t accept one of the legs. A friend tried to turn the piece and I even took it to a hardware store but they couldn’t fix it either. I was told by the vendor that it must have shifted during shipping. There is no way something that tight could have jiggled out of place during shipping. I was also told by the vendor that it was an easy fix and to use the Allen wrench provided to insert it into a tiny hole on the side to make the adjustment. This guidance makes no sense because there is no small hole on the side. Basically it wasn’t their problem.

I contacted the Etsy resolution team and they were worthless and absolutely no help at all. They closed the case without intervening or helping the consumer. Overall my experience working with this vendor and Etsy was such a horrible experience that I will never buy anything from Etsy again. I spent $729.00 on this bed that is defective and am now out that money.

Before you consider buying something from the Etsy's shady sellers or dealing with Etsy, please read the following! I have purchased an antique clock from a seller a week ago. I knew that the clock was in not-working condition as she has specified in the item description provided on Etsy. Therefore, I have no claims regarding the matter. However, when the clock arrived and I took it out from the box, I found inside a piece with visibly smashed metal structure. I was unable to position it on a table because the clock metal frame is warped, thus, unbalanced.

I contacted the seller, informed her that I would like to ship her the item because the condition of the clock is not as she described. She stated that the clock was in perfect condition and it was the fault of the post office employees who ruined the item. She refused to take the clock back, insisted ME to go to the post office and file the insurance claim if I want my money back.

Today morning out of interest I took the clock to the clock repair specialist. He stated that the clock has been damaged before it left the seller’s facility. Also, according to the specialist’s opinion, one shall use a heavy duty hammer to do such a damage to the metal structure of the clock. Therefore, the post office where the seller “sent” me so kindly to, has nothing to do with the damage. The seller sells junk staff and makes her money in deceitful way - by misleading customers, providing false descriptions, and blaming the USPS for negligence and carelessness.

The most interesting is that after reading the Etsy’s Policy, I found that the buyer’s rights are not protected by Etsy. They are concerned only about the sellers – because it is a seller who makes them business. Take look at the ETSY’s policy. Click “Seller” and then “Buyer.” JUST COMPARE. LOL. Once you do, you’ll agree with me that Etsy, in contrary to eBay, attracts scammers and dishonest sellers.

A friend of mine had akin situation two months ago. She ordered an antique lamp from a seller from Belgium who posted beautiful pictures of the lamp and, of course, perfectly composed description of the item. My friend’s mistake was that she did not pay attention to one little thing: the lamp was photographed just from one angle. The lamp arrived broken. The back of the lamp the seller failed to provide the photos of was broken and beyond repairs.

That seller was smarter than mine though. He insured the lamp for the amount of $700.00 (almost three times more than the price he sold the lamp to my friend for), refunded my friend the amount paid immediately and politely asked for the pictures he needed for the insurance claim. Also, he kindly offered her to leave the lamp where she was or throw it away. For the purpose of finding the truth, we took the lamp to the repair shop in Manhattan. The guys just laughed at her and said that to make this type of damage one would need to use a heavy duty metal tool and purposefully damaged the thing.

I must say that I’ve been ordering different things from eBay for years. Nothing like the described above ever took place. 99% of the sellers were honest and reliable. I do not remember when I returned a purchase last time. I have never received an item “damaged by postal office” from any of the eBay sellers. I might not like a piece and return it. But never returned due to the “damage.” It is because the eBay really cares about its reputation, good name, and equally protects the rights of sellers and buyers.

Etsy keeps losing its reputation. Probably because they are too greedy for money and allow anyone sell anything without checking the sellers’ good standing. The Etsy’s policy is “SINK OR SWIM,” because they fail to compete with eBay and Amazon, and the only mean to survive is letting such thing happen. Sink or swim, right?

This can only be labelled as fraudulent selling, since it is offering products which are not what they claim to be. Etsy need to be fined and shut down until they clean up their marketplace. I will certainly never purchase from Etsy since they cannot be trusted, and advise others to avoid them too.

I hear a lot of complaining about what is wrong with Etsy. I've been a seller for over 10 years - a reputable seller with thousands of positive feedback addressing the quality of product, responsible shipping and responsive customer service. I have a few things to say in defense of the many wonderful buyers and sellers on Etsy. Then I'll honestly review Etsy itself.

FOR SELLERS: If you are going to sell on any site you had better prepare yourself. I studied business in college and have years of experience but you don't need a degree. There are a myriad of ways to study the market, make a business plan and perfect your skills. Start with your local library if you are into DIY or take a course online. I draw on lots of information to make certain I know what the market is for my product, pursue advertising, fair pricing and to make certain I am 100% transparent in my transactions.

I also apply those same goals as a buyer. While no business is perfect, what you put into it is what you get out of it so I work on my relationship with Etsy. There are shops on Etsy who are sloppy in presentation, don't give enough information, are not informative nor transparent in their listings, post terrible photos and absolutely nothing is done professionally. Etsy makes its process for opening a shop easy to follow but there is so very much more to it than just filling in forms.

If you want an honest review of your shop and have a desire to fulfill its potential, hire someone who can assess your plan before opening and give helpful feedback. It should be your goal to seek education. Before opening my shop I sought advice from an attorney, financial planner and other professionals. I wanted to be the best I could be and they helped me achieve that. Also, if you have never drawn up a business plan, it is a free service through the Small Business Administration. Finally, be prepared to have losses. That is what the Profit and Loss portion of your business taxes is for. You are not going to win every time. If your time is worth more than the loss, it really is not a loss to make the choice to move on. Keep good records so you can back up any claims you make to the IRS.

FOR BUYERS: Every buyer has a responsibility to take the time to read a shop's policies, convey any questions to the seller and thoroughly assess the shop and product. I know there are legitimate buyer concerns and many have had bad experiences, even so many have had positive experiences but why do the complaints seem louder than the positive feedback? Informed buyers need to look for informed sellers. Hold the seller responsible for delivering what they say they will deliver and let them know you are a savvy, serious, informed buyer. If the seller has any interest in their shop, they will respond immediately to fulfill what they promised you. Speak with authority but don't be aggressive; be kind with your words and politely address the problem after having thoroughly thought through your response. Don't speak off-the-cuff - not many people are successful at speaking impulsively.

Treat the seller as you want to be treated, with respect. I have cancelled orders and processed refunds to people who are rude and disrespectful. I politely tell them I can't fulfill their order and then I immediately process a refund. If you are buying from an artist ask LOTS of questions and be certain you listen carefully to their answers. If your gut tells you there is reason to distrust, move on. Most reputable artists will have lots of information to back up their ability to deliver. Ask what their turnaround time is, read all feedback, bring your expectations to their attention. If you are buying collectibles or supplies know your product. Many are the times people have made impulsive choices only to regret them later. Most shops are small and can't offer refunds so be sure to read the refund policy. If it does not suit you, move on.

RE: ETSY: I identified Etsy's shortcomings years ago, some have been eliminated while others remain and I work around them. No business, no buyer, no seller is perfect. Etsy still stands as the most innovative online venue in the U.S. There are plenty of other venues but they are not as successful nor do they have the customer base. So it is in any seller's best interest to learn what they can and cannot expect from Etsy. Their customer service department is not good at responding to individual questions or complaints but to be fair, a lot of those complaints could be alleviated if buyers and sellers would just treat each other as they want to be treated and if they both took their respective aims seriously. That means preparing to be a wise consumer and a responsible seller. It is ridiculous to expect Etsy to field a lot of complaints.

Ask yourself first if there is something you could have done better. Etsy could do a better job of servicing sellers but if you are a seller you'd better be prepared to operate independent of Etsy's involvement. Let's face it, they have a huge investment in growth, innovation and investors. So perhaps they don't focus as much growth and innovation in the area of customer service. Instead, they have succinct directives for finding your way through the mazes within Etsy. Read them, study them, apply them. Then there is the Etsy community. It works when people put their heads together and share information on how to fix things. Etsy reads the community forums and keeps a finger on the pulse of both the buying and selling communities. As I stated before, it is not a perfect system, but it is a workable if you apply yourself.

So I had a shop with ETSY, that I run for 2 years. By no means it was profitable, because they will charge you for a listing, regardless of if it will be sold or not. So you will just keep on paying and paying and paying, and maybe once in a while, maybe someone will buy something. Once a customer bought something from me. Shipping was overseas, so she waited for 3 month to claim that the item was never received. To make my sales, I had to list lowest possible fees, which makes me ship economy.

The buyer lied, opened a request as not received. So guess what? They just go ahead and disable my account. No warnings, no contacting me, nothing. Amazing!!! They were taking my money for 2 years, and when something was actually sold, instead of sending me my money, they disabled my account and run away with my money. So the summary, if you want to use ETSY as a seller, basically, expect to never see your money, because first dishonest (or smart) buyer and you will lose both your product and your money. However, if you are a buyer, by all means, cheat and lie, you will receive the product, then refund. And on top of everything the buyer will be punished.

Thursday 1/24/19 the USPS tracking said USPS awaiting item. I emailed the seller two times about when this would ship. The seller never responded. Saturday morning 1/26/19 USPS tracking still said USPS awaiting item. I emailed Etsy customer service since the seller does not respond to emails. I wanted to cancel the order and get a full refund. Etsy without asking me first, refunded me on their own and said I could keep the item. They did not take the money from the seller. I have told Etsy several times I did not want THEIR refund. I wanted the refund from the SELLER and I no longer wanted the item.

I did not refuse the item delivery, because that would allow the seller to sell it again and gain more profit. I left the seller a low rating. The seller responded with a lie and said the item shipped on Tuesday 1/22/19 and also said I was "desperate". USPS tracking clearly shows the item was shipped later on Saturday 1/26/19. Etsy will not allow me to respond to his lie because my rating was less than three stars.

I asked Etsy to take down the seller's response with the lie and libelous comment. They refused. The seller then sent me five harassing emails one calling me a liar through Etsy which is against their policies. Etsy refuses to do anything about that. I have asked Etsy to take back their refund and for the seller to provide a prepaid return shipping label and for the seller to refund my money. They refuse to do that. So it is obvious their "courtesy" refund was to keep me quiet and to keep their seller in good standing. It is obvious Etsy gives preferential treatment to their sellers.

No one responded to the hold on the payment that I was supposed to receive for an order, and I wanted to get the item off FAST - that's what customers typically want. But only after repeated attempts to contact them, did I get a reply, and still waiting for that payment (which you can set up to occur daily, ideally). I can see why people are going to places like Poshmark or other sites that have appeared. I used to really like Etsy, but now as a seller, I'm not sold. In fact, I may have to close my shop because I simply don't have the time to try and "figure out" all the inner workings of their site/policies or hope to get assistance when something is unclear or goes awry.

It's only a good site for sellers IF you fully read the seller handbook and work hard at running your shop. It isn't a "list and get rich" website - you need to put a lot of work into making your shop appealing for customers. However, Etsy provides buyers that wouldn't otherwise find me on another site or my own. Their search tool, commercials/marketing, and reputation attracts buyers and makes it easy for them to find items like mine! If you have had a bad experience as a seller, I would suggest doing more research into SEO, marketing, photography, and more. Ordered products from different sellers. Never a problem. But when you have a problem, Etsy does not protect the buyer's investment. Sellers only have to prove paying for postage of mailing a product. They do not have to provide that confirmation receipt when the product is actually dropped off and mailed. I even paid for $43 in tracking and signature. Seller did not have to provide proof of mailing my package. Of purchasing tracking and signature. So when my package didn’t show up, and there was no item to track, and when the post office the seller did not have to provide proof of mailing my package. Of purchasing tracking and signature. So when my package didn’t show up, and there was no item to track, and when the post office the seller used, doesn’t even have the tracking number in their system... Etsy will close your escalated case and tell you to take it up with postal services.

Now I know why these sellers can keep having problems with non-delivered products. Because they don’t have to show proof. So good luck if your purchase goes right. But you are out of luck and the money when it doesn’t. Etsy does not stand behind the buyer even when there is an easy way for them to prove that the product was never mailed out. Etsy just washes their hands off it and blocks you and then you can’t even dispute it. You can’t even submit your proof again. I wish I would have read the reviews of the seller I dealt with before I made my purchase. Because that’s when I realize this has been an ongoing problem with the same seller. And she is still able to sell items on Etsy because they are not held accountable for obvious theft. They can take your money, but they are not obligated to mail out your product.

I contacted Etsy concerning a seller who admitted to me their charms were not authentic Pandora beads. When I asked to confirm they were authentic the seller said, "Of course not at that price." There are others on Etsy too that are selling copies of Pandora charms. I brought this to the attention of Etsy three times before they answered me. I was told they would do nothing because the complaint had to come from Pandora itself. If this happened on eBay the seller would be gone.

I contacted Pandora and their legal team got involved and they went after this seller however the seller is still there. Very poor handling of fraudulent items. Then I had a problem with another seller who has now bad mouthed this seller on this site. Etsy allowed attacks against a seller to appear on their site for a year and did nothing until recently. This kind of information should never be allowed to be shown on a sellers store and is unfair attacks. I also find they have a nonexistent shipping policy. I sell on eBay and have three days to ship or I get a bad mark. Many of the sellers on Etsy take a week or more just to get the item shipped and most of the time you cannot track it. eBay cares about their sellers and customers and is a valued site. Esty should be brought down.

5 stars for a job well done in customer service via disputes. After a grueling 6 month investigation Etsy removed a Seller who was falsely attacking my store and items by posting false statements. This egregious Seller believes that the rules of good and fair business behavior do not apply to them. I blocked the Seller on both Etsy and eBay and hoped that they would leave me alone. The Seller was buying my items on eBay and re-selling them on Etsy at triple the price which is the reason I blocked the Seller before selling on Etsy. When I started selling on Etsy the Seller attacked me for being a competitor with many predatory tactics to have me removed but it all backfired on the Seller. Interesting how my items were not fake until I started selling on Etsy. The Seller had their spouse/family and friends cyber bully me because I was competition to Seller's inferior items and yes those people (spouse/family and friends) were removed off Etsy as well.

Had it not been for the honesty of a buyer who reported the Seller's misdeeds to me I would have been blindsided. The Seller went after the buyer who reported the Seller by messaging and calling the buyer vicious names. The Seller was removed for selling fake merchandise and misuse of campaigning misrepresentations. The Seller is as phony as their fake items. Unfortunately, the Seller has now moved onto eBay where they changed their store name the day they were booted off Etsy which looks very suspicious and I see it as a RED flag. If you do buy any Disney charms on eBay from this Seller just give them the soap and water test and if the patina washes away then it is recast/painted/inked and it's FAKE.

The audacity to project their lies onto me was very scary and to accuse Etsy of removing them without warning is ridiculous. Etsy did give fair warning and guidance and I believe they would never just kick anyone off without provocation which the Seller repeatedly did daily for 6 months which was strange. I never attacked the Seller but I defended myself and I believed that blocking them would prevent an ugly situation but the Seller was constantly stalking me which was more tax strange and very creepy. It's so laughable the way the Seller falsely claims that they were the victim. The blocking feature on Etsy needs to be more ironclad to prevent this awful situation from happening ever again. I wonder how many other sellers this Seller had booted off Etsy and eBay because of their lies? Justice was served by Etsy.

Etsy does not take care of customers if something goes awry with a seller they represent. They tell you it is out of their hands and absolutely refuse to assist you in the matter. From what I've read in these reviews, I'm astounded this company is still in business. Thank goodness I had a good seller the year before. The reviews say it all. I would never work as a CSR for Etsy. I'd feel fraudulent.

Etsy is an online marketplace that carries some unusual and artistic items. Where their business model falls apart is that they either don't disclose or very poorly disclose the location of individual sellers and the associated shipping durations. I ordered an item from a seller on December 6, paying $16 shipping on a $50 item and expecting the item to easily get to me in Houston, TX by the Christmas holiday. The seller's shipping policies say he'll get it shipped within a day or so. Nowhere did he disclose that he is located in Sochi, Russia and this item will easily take 4-6 weeks to ship. It finally arrived on January 18, 2019.

When I asked for a refund on the exorbitant shipping charge the seller maintained he did nothing wrong and his website now does list Russia as the point of origin if you place the item in the shopping cart. I elevated my complaint to Etsy who completely ignored the issue and said it looks like the item has shipped so no issues. For a website based in the U.S. (that's what the .com means) this is pretty sad. eBay and Amazon seem to have no trouble properly disclosing when a buyer is located overseas and to expect shipping delays. Will never shop at Etsy again.

I ordered two gifts from them for Christmas and I did not get either one of them. For the first purchase, I was notified after Christmas that there was a glitch in the system and what I ordered was already sold. The second, I had to open a case to find out where it was and after a lot of back and forth I still did not get the item. So there was over $200.00 tied up in presents that never came.

Etsy allowed at least one fake user and fake shop onto its site during the 2018 holiday season, and probably many more. The user in my case was /people/ForeverPopShop (and also a random string of characters that escapes me). The seller/shop was gone only a day or two after Christmas, with my $25 (and probably more from others) in hand. This is criminal negligence. To say that the transaction is between me and the seller is one thing -- but to take a cut of fraudulent transactions without doing anything to prevent scammers from registering on the site is legally questionable. Others who have experienced the same, please comment or review.

I sold a late 1800's real garnet bracelet of museum quality. The buyer messaged me that it was gorgeous, but didn't fit yet never asked for an exchange. The size was clearly listed and this bracelet was described extremely accurately along with like 10 pictures in natural light. My policies state exchanges only, yet to please read and ask all questions before purchase. A month later she opens a case against me. I offered an exchange, but she refused. I refused and stood by my policies. I had corresponded throughout the case. She left me a nasty review and called me vulgar names in her case correspondence to me. She even changed it from not fitting to bent and damaged. I have proof all the way to the post office.

On Christmas day, I got a reminder to respond!!! I had been responding. Next I know this Drew Character steps in from Etsy and states she is to receive a full refund and I should send an address label which I should purchase through Etsy. I pleaded to investigate it further and even tried calling, but the number had disappeared from my account in help through the holidays and I could not get through to anyone. He never contacted me back to hear my side and when I finally got through and talked to someone, they said they would pass it on to Drew and ask him to investigate it further. This didn't happen. I have already been scammed on eBay and is why I tried Etsy.

I was excited to get my first few sales and only put the best of my best on there. Now, I am aware that scammers prey on newbies and although I am not new to selling, I was new to Etsy, therefore a target. I had refunded a scammer on eBay just to have them keep my jewelry. I wasn't going to get ripped off again. I paid my fee to Etsy, closed my PayPal account and my bank account along with my card. Yes, I did this as not to get taken again. This Drew from Etsy had already suspended my account after threatening me if I didn't refund her within so many days.

Next, I get an email that my bill has been paid for my listed items and they have reopened my account. I told them to close it as I do not want to deal with a company that doesn't protect their sellers. They issued her a full refund and she has kept this item as I suspected she would. I cannot close my account because they now say I owe the amount they refunded her.

If anyone is interested in getting a class suit against them, I am game because no way are they getting another dime from me. The company is a scam. I have researched all over the internet and found literally mega stories from both sellers and buyer's getting screwed by this company. I feel someone on the inside is getting a kickback on these scams. Perhaps they should in fact be investigated themselves. I've done a bit of investigating on my own. They may keep my shop open, but I am going to delete what I can of my items from it, so the only next move is to dispute anything sent to collections as they are most definitely fraudulent, at least some of them in charge. They had me totally stressed out all through the holidays. I am an honest hard working person. This is so unfair, but lesson learned. I will build my own platform website and not make others rich off my hard work.

Upon arrival five of the fifteen plants were DOA, I contacted Etsy immediately, and was told to file a case. I explained that I was not proficient on the computer and I needed help. I waited two weeks for a response and got none. I have contacted ETSY and also JJ GARDEN BOUTIQUE (at least eight times since August of 2018) and have not got ONE response on this matter, until yesterday.

At which time ETSY says that my time to file a case is over. I told them that I had been trying (at least eight times) to contact them to help me file a case. He responded "Sorry that is all I can do for you". I am canceling ETSY from my computer and I would advise others NOT TO DO BUSINESS with this scam operation. I have contacted JJ GARDEN BOUTIQUE at least eight times, and they have IGNORED my emails. I've been using Etsy for at least 9 years as both a seller and buyer. I have had good and bad experiences, but I simply love being able to support small businesses and individuals over corporations. It is important to know what Etsy is before you purchase. Etsy isn't a seller, they are simply a marketplace platform for people to list their items for sale. When you purchase, you are not purchasing from Etsy, you are purchasing from a direct person who made that particular item. I see many reviewers upset that Etsy didn't give them a refund or calling them a scam. Keep in mind, they facilitate the sale, they are NOT the seller. Blame your bad experiences on the particular shop or sellers, not Etsy as a whole.

I used to sell on Etsy for approximately 1 year until I had a customer purchase over $650 in merchandise and they were from another country. I sent the items and lo and behold about 3 weeks later, after they received the items filed a chargeback against me and said the purchase was "unauthorized". Etsy deducted the $650 + their fee from my account. So I fought with them, back and forth and got nowhere. I was out the products and out the money. So I canceled my credit card I had on file with them. This was in May. My credit card company sent me a new card. Here, 9 months later somehow Etsy got my new number and charged my credit card. I want to know who they paid to get my new credit card number. I'm disputing the charge with my credit card company but they illegally obtained my credit card number and billed me. I want nothing to do with these people. They are total scammers.

The company has been very disorganized and the policy toward authentic items is even worse. I'm so shocked their stock finally went up. We sell authentic brand new items on Etsy and have filed several reports to them when we spot some replica items online. They never take care of it and those items are still being sold, and those poor customers who didn't know how to authentic left a positive feedback. We wonder when those brands will file a lawsuit against them like eBay. Sometimes they take down listings without a reason or a reason is very blurry. One listing of a bag with a picture of 'as seen on" celebrity. We used it as a second picture, they took it down without a reason. They said, "It is legal issue" and we asked them, "What legal issue." They never reply. So we just relist it without a problem, and the listing is still up.

Don't be confused as to WHO ETSY's customer is. IT IS NOT the buyer and they will make NO attempt to protect the buyer from bad sellers. I had a vendor of ETSY take my money and fail to deliver a product. I chose the seller based on the reviews of other buyers. I have since found out the sellers control and protect all their reviews. I found out only AFTER my negative review of the seller was deleted (almost immediately). At a minimum false advertisement-more like internet fraud. Contacted ETSY for assistance and received email after email about-"sorry the buyer said they delivered". I have since learned that ETSY receives a fee for every sale by the seller-so it is in THEIR best interest to back the seller. A DISGRACE to hard working honest sellers. I will NEVER make a purchase on ETSY again, and will be sure to shout from the rooftops what a bad company they are.

I opened a shop with Etsy to generate sales for my products. I’m a single mother of two young children and am desperate to make this business work. It is my livelihood. Two weeks before Christmas, after paying for Facebook advertising to direct sales traffic to my Etsy shop; Etsy suspend my shop without any explanation. I lost a lot of Xmas sales. I sent countless emails to their so called customer service requesting an explanation and reopen my shop. They merely sent automated replies saying they were busy! I sent up to 10 emails per day, following all the tenuous avenues available within the mystical maze that is their online support and received nothing back from them. This is such vile treatment. They destroyed my business and our Christmas.

I finally got a response after my one hundred fiftieth email had expletives in the subject bar! This was the only reason they contacted me and they said because I’d used foul language they were banning me from Etsy. By this time I’d already told them to close my account anyway as I want nothing to do with them. They are vile, neglectful, arrogant, vicious and evil. They are a multibillion dollar company who don’t give a flying ** about their customers and those who generate their massive profits for them. Despicable people.

I wrote and opened a dispute immediately, but Etsy never made the vendor respond or do anything. Then after they say I have to contact PayPal, although I bought it from Etsy on their website and them nor their vendor ever responded or addressed the problem. I would never buy another item from Etsy aver again. You cannot trust them to help or get your money back. They should all be ashamed of themselves, I do not recommend Etsy. Go to eBay or Amazon, they are better at resolving problems and making things right for their customers. Now I know why Etsy has so few stars and so many complaints about them. Don't risk it, don't buy on Etsy.
