Today I cancelled my eBay account, cancelled my Paypal account and blocked all my employees from both sites. Not only did I do that but I called my bank and CC company and blocked any future transactions from Both companies. As a Consumer and seller I spend a minimum of 14K per year on eBay & Paypal. I am now going to give Amazon all my business even if it costs a few dollars more.

From Time to time we sell used parts and market them clearly. We have sold 2 items for parts or repair, "stated as is" and the 1st time the buyer returned something that I did not sell him! eBay fully refunded him and eBay's response "that is the cost of doing business". Ok. I did not understand as that's fraud but what can you do. So this time the buyer had the item in his\her possession for 29 days, then opened a case and again eBay sided with buyer in less than 2 minutes and basically told me they do not care. So I am taking my $1400 (7 year average per year) away they make per year and taking Paypal's commission away over $80 and principal.

Ordered 3 motherboard kits with CPU and RAM, opened a case, tried to solve it with the seller (DNA outlet) but the seller (DNA outlet) contacted eBay and closed the case. My negative reviews were removed, “DNA outlet” still has 100% positive reviews and I lost 150 pounds because eBay favours the sellers because they pay percentage from sales maybe. There were a couple more negative reviews for DNA outlet and now they are gone.

I had a bad experience with eBay years ago and hardly ever used them. Decided to buy some things and made an account with my Gmail to watch some items. I paid for everything right away with PayPal, nothing was outstanding. Few hours later they cancelled my account for no reason. I called and they said they do it to all new accounts with activity. No one could tell me where it says they would cancel all my orders and refuse to help me unless I give them all my information and a credit card. No, I paid my fees, with PayPal. They had no reason to suspend my account and take a bunch of money from me. Glad to see their company is going down. Hope something better takes its place.

Terrible service. Got gypped out of five dollars. And talk to management and they were rude. I would suggest to anybody looking for auto parts or anything through eBay stop ordering from them. Go to your local people. Give them your hard-earned money instead of these people that don’t deserve it.

April 13, 2019. I am from Montreal Quebec Canada. I purchased a simple 10.00 US item April 1, 2019 from somewhere in Ohio. After paying for it with my credit card, I had to pay an extra 15.00 US for shipping this 8 ounce item. It is now 13 days since the purchase. eBay cannot compete with Amazon. Amazon can deliver in max 2 days and free shipping with Prime. Well I learned my lesson. Goodbye eBay.

I am a new user to eBay, trying to sell a few of my father's belongings as he passed away last August. Since I'm new, I am not familiar with their policies. One being that having been messaged by a buyer asking to meet in person to view the product that they would be buying is apparently a huge violation of policy. This was something initiated by the buyer and I went along with it until eBay notified me of it being against their policy a week later. After that, I cut contact the with guy and told him he'd have to pay through eBay. He didn't end up buying it so I sold the item to someone else through eBay.

Turns out, one warning a week after the initial contact is enough for eBay to bill me $300 for a sale that never happened. I called them three times about it and the only reason they gave is because of the couple of messages that the buyer sent me and me replying to him. The buyer has no consequences but I do for something that never happened? Even though the buyer was the one that wanted it to happen? By the way, all of this happened after my account was suspended for being new and eBay wanting to make sure I was a real person. I had multiple people who already bid on the item in question and when my account was suspended, the item got taken down.

If they hadn't suspended my account, the messages would never have happened and I would've been able to sell it to whoever bought it through the auction. eBay DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE SELLER. They only want your money and to keep buyers happy with the "customer is always right" crap. If you are a small-time seller, please, do not use eBay. They will screw you out of money and will find any reason to charge you more than what they deserve. I paid my fees that were legitimately through eBay and that actually happened. But a couple of messages from a buyer is all it takes for them to charge you for whatever price they feel like. Use other sites, such as their competitors like Amazon, Craigslist, or Reverb. DON'T USE EBAY!

I have had a very positive experience with eBay until lately. Somehow my "secure" account password is being changed and I am not doing it. I checked in another way and changed my account password today and again it was changed. In theory this should not happen after I changed the password within seconds unless there is something else to it. My theory on the 'it' is this: I have had trouble with a disreputable 'religious' group hq'd in Salt Lake City, Utah for almost 30 years. And I believe this company is owned by them. Disreputable people in many of my dealings with them outside of eBay, now maybe even eBay is affected.

I ordered the above touch-up hair color product more than two months ago and never received it. According to eBay (and the seller's information) it was delivered - but it never was delivered to me. Based on eBay's policy, if a product is not delivered or was lost, either a replacement or a refund is due. According to eBay customer support (after the seller stopped responding because he said that the tracking number showed it had been delivered), their investigation - which took all of 10 minutes - showed that this product was not eligible for a refund and the case was closed, period. In order to reopen the case, I would need to send them a Police Report (seriously) or some other information that is impossible to procure.

It may only be $10 dollars but it's a terrible way to treat a customer. I will NOT be using eBay ever again... Imagine if I ordered something worth $100 or even $1,000 (which is not uncommon) and the same situation occurred. Amazon Prime: You have your issues, but at least I can return stuff with no problem or get a refund for deliveries that never make it. Shame on you, eBay! Sincerely, Former Customer Elzbieta.

I've been selling with eBay for a while but the past few transactions have just been completely unfair. Someone bought a brand new Waterpik from me and left me a good review. Three weeks later they decide they didn't want it because they "couldn't figure out how to use it." I kindly said it's been too long and they've USED the item in their mouth so I can't accept a return. Well of course they opened a case and eBay ruled in their favor. Now I have a nasty used and damaged item. This isn't the first time I've dealt with an awful buyer that just wants something for free and ends up returning the item damaged when they don't get what they want. eBay does not care about their sellers, especially small sellers. I am DONE using them for buying and selling.

It's not bad enough eBay is overrun with counterfeits, fakes, pirated media, and fraudulent sellers as well as deadbeat buyers... It's not bad enough that with changes to the seller feedback policy over the last 10 years sellers can no longer even leave a negative feedback for outright deadbeat buyers but have to endure negative feedback for buyers who get second thoughts but want a refund and to keep the merchandise... It's not bad enough eBay has decided if you aren't a business and are a private party like me selling less than 25 items every six months they can interfere with your sale and withhold the money until you have shipped the item to the buyer - in direct contravention to the first rule of a sale... It's not bad enough they force you to accept their shipping rate estimates which are often wrong and force you to make up a difference out of pocket... No.

Now they feel they have the right to charge a final value fee on the shipping costs too - as if they were a profit you are making. This is an illegal and underhanded practice akin to trying to add extra tax to shipping which is prohibited by the FTC and has been for decades. This is not listed on their seller fees page anywhere as of this writing. Their excuse for this is the underhanded sellers who abuse shipping by selling items cheap and making up for it with handling costs which they basically told me I should do to recover these extra fees. No this is outright, unadulterated greed and misconduct and it needs to stop. I urge anyone who is an eBay seller or customer to write a letter to their state Attorney General and their congressman.

Corporate greed has gone way too far. eBay has made it impossible for respectable sellers and non-businesses to survive. Worse the response from their Office of the president is to offer free shipping - because, yeah, I will sell a $5 item that needs $15 to ship and then be at a net profit of -$10 - makes complete sense!

eBay now is a company that caters to fraud and greed and corruption. This policy of charging valuation fees on shipping is over-reaching and they need to be put in check. Rich corporations and crooked businesses get richer, the rest of us get crushed under the wheel!

I sold a jewelry kiln on eBay and eBay forced me to accept the return. I received the item back completely ruined. eBay seller protection states it protects you again items that have been used and damage. eBay did reverse the division in my favor. I was told I would get a full refund for my $400 item by two different customer service reps. I only received half my money $200.

After a month of waiting and talking to service reps they now have changed their minds and said they only protect you for 50 percent of your item. I can't find anywhere stating it only protects you for 50 percent of your item. Why did it talk a month to tell me this and why tell me multiple times I would receive the rest of my money. So eBay has stolen 50 dollars in shipping 40 fee for selling. 22 dollars for PayPal fees. So I end up with 88 dollars for my 400 dollar item. I have been screwed as a buyer as well. I ordered a pair of bike shoes and received a mouse pad. I was told to ship mouse pad back I did and eBay never returned my money. So now eBay is up to $462 of my money I'll never get back. I will never use this company again and warn all my friends as well. So frustrating.

Don't sell on eBay. They will not have your back. I sold a new pair of boots in the box in perfect condition. The buyer said they were too big, even though the listing clearly stated the brand run a size larger, and when I got them back the tissue paper protecting them was gone and they were all scraped up from being shipped that way. I contacted eBay immediately. The policy is all item must be returned in original condition and packaging. They put the case on hold and said I could offer a partial refund. I did and the buyer agreed but I couldn't do it through eBay, so they told me to do it through PayPal with my balance or bank account.

After doing that and calling eBay asking them to close the case they asked for a screenshot of the transfer on PayPal for proof I gave a refund. The next day I wake up to a message that eBay closed the case and gave the buyer a full refund on top of my PayPal transfer. How does that even happen? They looked at my screenshot of the payment to this buyer and still decided to give her more money on top of it. I'm done selling on eBay.

They have all the selling fees hidden on the selling docs but they are not able to tell you how much they will charge if you sell the item through them. Exactly like going to the hospital and after three weeks you get your bill. Never again. This practice is insane. 25% of the price of an item.

I have been selling on eBay for a number of years and overall I have had a good experience, however I have encountered what I can only describe as a thoroughly dishonest buyer. ** purchased a brand new pair of Skechers boys shoes on the 2/3/19 and then 3 weeks later she contacted stating that the shoes were faulty, the photographs showed a pair of shoes that looked like they have been worn in a war zone and clearly her child had wrecked them. She was trying to get a partial refund but I refused as the shoes were all but destroyed, I took this up with eBay and asked them to intervene.

This morning I received an email stating they had found in the buyers favour stating "I certainly understand your frustration as you have received a return item in damaged condition. eBay never physically see the item before or after it is returned by your buyer so we cannot dispute the buyer and their reasons for return. As a result of this, we allow the return to happen as normal." So there we have it. As a seller you will always lose out, they cannot dispute the buyer but they can dispute the seller, the very person who pays eBay. eBAY has horrible customer service. They claim to have a "Concierge Service" to assist buyers. However, that service sucks! I have found them to be unhelpful, rude and generally inept. Ebay allows sellers to send different items than what the buyer ordered. If you experience this, like have have with one seller multiple times, Ebay does nothing. They won't contact the Seller and tell them they need to send the items you purchased. They make you wait for a return shipping label, go to the post office, and then within 2 days after your return is received by the Seller, will guarantee the return of money to your account. I have been an ebay user for 10 years, and their service imo has declined over the years. They are imho earning way too much money from even horrible sellers, to intervene to make sure your experience is positive and that you get what you purchased. EBAY SUCKS!

I just wasted over an hour of my time getting nowhere with a customer service rep, a supervisor, and a manager named Melvin. I'm pretty sure their names are made up. While getting nowhere with them I was constantly emailing the buyer telling them that the item is described just like the certificate of authenticity says with nothing else added. After a few emails I got the buyer to rescind the return. eBay doesn't even look at the listing to make sense of what the buyer is saying. This business is dying and everyone needs to move on. They are the worst I've ever seen and it's been like this for a long time. A place that only lets buyers leave negative feedback tells you what kind of company this is. So if you're a seller, beware, eBay does not care about you.

I’ve been selling my ancient coin collection on eBay for a couple of years, seriously selling for a few months. One of my coins was returned to me. eBay has been holding the “Final Value Fee” for this coin for no reason (that was given to me). I called customer service 4 times to get my money back. Customer service is usually someone in the Philippines. Every time I call to inquire about crediting me back the Final Value Fee for this coin I was told things like “I’ll be happy to assist you..." "I can help you with that..." "I understand your concern..." "I understand your frustration..." "I will be following up on that..." "We will have to appeal this..." "We’ll get back to you in 48 hours.”

It took me about two weeks back and forth until I got my money. eBay also counted this “return” against me, for NO reason. But later I understood the reason: that I’m now a “below standard” seller, so they will increase the Final Value Fee on the items I sell. I’ve used eBay as a buyer, and as a seller. eBay is definitely biased towards buyer, but think carefully if you’re considering to sell on eBay. I felt that they treat sellers as if all sellers sell stolen items, or as if all sellers are crooks. I know now why people choose to consign their collectible to auction house. Auction places probably charge a little more than eBay but they definitely save you A LOT of headaches That you will have to be prepared for when you sell on eBay. Thanks!

I started selling on eBay in 1998. I had built up quite the business. In 2012 I had a 3500 sq. warehouse, 8 employees and I was "grandfathered" in as I was told in regards to how many items I could list: No limit. Then came the corporate mentality. They claim it is "your" business yet dictated how you are to respond to customers, force returns down your throat and instituted the same rules to sellers selling pre-owned and new. That isn't apples to apples. Despite having an authentification I had paid $50 for, they deemed an item I sold as not authentic.

Ever since they got slapped by Tiffany for the counterfeit fiasco that Tiffany has yet to recover from, they decided if a buyer claims something isn't authentic, then it must be so. And it was THEIR greed that allowed that to happen. But nonetheless, all sellers are now to pay for their lack of rules regarding copyright infringement. Scared little cats... So as a seller, you had have no recourse; No appeal, no open for discussion.

Nope, I got treated like I was a scam artist despite having 300K+ positive feedback and a certificate of authenticity in hand from a reputable company. Many times when selling pre-owned designer goods you could be the 4th or 5th owner... like a 30 year old Vuitton speedy, you don't have the original sales receipt. And if you did chances are pretty good that store is no longer in business. Hence paying a professional to authenticate it. So I was then restricted to selling a certain number of items as well as brands for 30 days. Well that doesn't help pay the rent or payroll or the enticing loans Paypal and Kabbage had approved me for. (Ah Kabbage, another story... They went in and took 50K from my account... Wait, I didn't have 50K so that ultimately put me in a bad way with B of A) It was a slow painful spiral.

Another incident was where I passed out behind the wheel while driving to obtain inventory. I was rushed to the hospital and was close to having a stroke. I was ordered to bed rest and was dehydrated etc. As every small business owner knows, there are no days off. Especially when you have to hustle even more due to restrictions placed on your account. I was hospitalized resulting in my eBay bill being 2 days late. Well eBay wanted all of what was owed asap or I was to be suspended. I called and spoke with various customer service reps. Each had a different version of what was to happen next. The last of which I was told that being "hospitalization" was NOT a valid reason for a late payment. (Yes I did ask if death was.)

Despite being a customer since 1998 and all the money I had earned for them I was still suspended!!! That ultimately put me out of business. Lay-offs and my divorce followed. (My spouse and I were partners) Fast forward 3 years I started listing under a friend's account (I know a big no-no) but one has to survive... I have a $2900 selling limit. My overview states I am 71% low in sales as compared to the market... Really, are you comparing me to other sellers with a $2900 limit? Nope. As usual no "apples to apples" comparison... They have deemed me as a below average seller... and wait for it... if I want my items to be in the top results of their search engine, I can "boost" my item by paying them an extortion fee of 12-19% of the selling price depending on the category I am listing in...

And the biggest kicker? I am "below standard" due to buyer returns... Funny I swear, my right hand to God... I listed the SAME ITEMS on Poshmark and I am a top rated seller with the buyers of those same exact items giving praise... That is because eBay has fostered an environment where the buyer can say whatever they want and paranoid eBay will back them. I get it, sellers need buyers... But in order to provide buyers with quality product and customer service, you sort of need ethical sellers. You don't treat them like last week's trash.

They will eventually become the "Lehman Bros" of this decade. The writing is on the wall, they are now giving discounts to make a purchase. So un-eBay... They keep changing their practices to mimic that of Poshmark and Tradesy. Clearly they are in panic mode. Serves them well. The snooty little call rep who spoke to me with such disdain and lack of respect will soon be purchasing a new career wardrobe from me on Poshmark. What eBay forgot, Karma will never forget. And although I never was a vengeful person, I will be doing a happy dance when that day comes. As I am sure many many other former sellers now in the unemployment line or applying for SNAP will be as well.

Actually they required me to take a loss on an item I sold because of the buyer decided they didn’t like it, regardless of the item stating it could not be returned. In all fairness, I would have accepted the return to start with if the buyer didn’t insult and swear at me. Not only did eBay do nothing. My blood began to boil! I called eBay to be told that you have to ask each seller if they are a drop shipper for Amazon before eBay will do anything. They don't have to advertise that they are selling Amazon stuff on eBay and eBay is wondering why they are losing that battle. To top it off, these parasites for Amazon are adding a couple of dollars on each item simply for posting it on eBay then ordering it from Amazon but using your address to have it shipped to. Nowhere in the description it said that the item was missing parts and that the items was damaged. Moreover, it didn't said that the item had a strong smell of smoke. When I contacted eBay to dispute the items description, eBay denied my case claiming that the description says that the item was used. Like I said the item said "Slightly Used". It never said "Used".

So since they close my case without any further actions, they now sent me to Paypal to escalate the case and open a case with them. Now also Paypal denied my case because eBay told them that the item was "Used" and it doesn't violates their rules of "Used". Again, I am telling them that the item said it was "SLIGHTLY USED". Now I am stuck with an item that is good for nothing and $30+ less in my pocket. Paypal's manager even had the audacity to tell me to try to re-sell the item and try to get my money back that way. DO NOT USE eBay, DO NOT USE Paypal, you will do yourself a big favor.

eBay went all the way up to corporate to state that they think I made a transaction off eBay and are charging the amount in the message system of 10% of $7000 or $700. In other words they can claim anything and if they do not find in your favor you owe them that money otherwise this happens (mind you this has not happened to me yet but it does to many). (1) Collection agency. (2) They ruin your credit. (3) They hassle and call you. This is basically stealing of money. Also eBay changes all fixed price day listings (3-5-7-30 days) to good until cancelled which is a money grab by eBay since people will forget when relisted. Without going into detail eBay will make a killing from this decision that had started this month March 2019.

I complained to the incompetent idiots in the call center at eBay who referred me to PayPal. They are more a scamming unit than the seller of the earrings. PayPal claimed a full refund if I mail the earrings back to an incomplete address in Israel.

Well, FEDEX International said one cannot send jewelry to Israel. It is prohibited and customs will mail my item back to me. I informed PayPal and the dope at custom service said “prove you cannot send jewelry to Israel”. I sent proof along with all pertinent documents. PayPal shut my claim for refund down saying not enough evidence. I lost $10,000. So cry for me. I want to use a four letter word for eBay and PayPal. Do not shop eBay. They are bad, bad, and bad.

I have used eBay off and on for about 10-12 years. During that time I had seller slow roll me past 45 days. It took about 2 weeks to get the product. It stopped working in two weeks, I sent it back, it arrived at the seller in a week, he took two weeks to get a replacement out the door and it took two weeks to get to me. This replacement stopped working in one week, the seller offered to send a replacement, said I do not want a replacement. I want my $600 back. Dead silence from the seller in Canada. I never received a product or my money. PayPal, eBay and my credit card said their policy was after 30-45 days (depending upon who I talked to) they would not refund my money.

Just last week I received a product that I ordered the wrong firmness. I discovered I did so within 30 minutes on a Sunday, requested to cancel the order. Within two hours I received an email from eBay saying the item has shipped. I really do not think so on a Sunday! After receiving the product I wanted to return it and was more than happy to pay the advertised $10.73 shipping charge. On a $84.00 product. I clicked on the return button... It took me to a page that had one choice of selecting PayPal as a means to pay for the shipping. Because of the above I have not had a PayPal account for about 8-9 years! I always pay for purchase on eBay with my MasterCard using the credit card option over the past 8-9 years (REMEMBER THIS).

After several phone conversations about why eBay cannot just charge my account. “That is against our policy”. I have heard that a lot the past few days! So after much angst I decided to create a PayPal account, print the return label then delete the account. When I created the PayPal account I used my AMEX card that I ONLY use on Amazon. After printing the label, I took the time to look at both credit card account, to get a feel for how much I owe on each and look for purchases that I do not recognize.

To my surprise all the PENDING eBay charges on my MasterCard WERE MOVED to my AMEX card. One would think no big deal! Maybe so except the MasterCard is with Navy Federal Credit Union and the AMEX is with USAA Savings Bank. I called eBay, PayPal and Navy Federal. The first two could not explain how or why CHARGES I MADE BEFORE ESTABLISHING A PAYPAL ACCOUNT were moved to PayPal. Navy Federal did not seem to care! I care because I did not authorize the move and I am convinced it is not legal to do so without my authorization. I filed a complaint with my state’s Attorney General’s office as well as with the Federal Trade Commission.

After the latest I have decided again to cancel my eBay account. After I received my last item ordered on 10 March 2019 on 14 March 2019, I waited a few days. I logged into my account, clicked on close my account and waited... And waited... And waited. I tried about 5-6 times of deleting close my account or completely logging off and starting again... Nothing worked. It never took me to the close account message or whatever it is suppose to do. So I called and talked to a representative who said I must wait 30 days after my last purchase to close my account!

In that little thing I never read called the user's agreement, it says that one cannot close an account until after 60 days from the request date IF one has charges within the past 30 days. It also says you can “cancel” your account and eBay will send an email acknowledging you want to cancel... But the 30 or 60 day rules apply. Although it takes “2 minutes” to establish an account. It takes “30-60” days to cancel an account. In some respects I can understand that... Except, for sellers it says one can cancel an account as long as there is not an account balance. A friend of mine said it best “Everything is fine until there is a problem.”

I have been injured and deceived in connection with transaction on eBay. The buyer (**) chose the economic parcel as a form of delivery despite my proposals to select the priority shipment due to the long delivery time. Now I know that he deliberately did not choose the priority shipment. The economic shipment from Poland to the USA was transported by sea, which takes about 7-8 weeks from the moment when the shipment will leave the country of posting. On 03/02/2019, the buyer opened a dispute on eBay due to non-receipt of the goods. I want to point out that the tracking number of the shipment was obviously entered into the system and showed that the shipment was sent from Poland on 28/12/2018. So from that moment delivery time is 7-8 weeks. Of course, I wrote about all the details and delivery times both to the buyer and eBay service.

Nevertheless, an employee of Ebay did not analyze or look at any of my information and 11.02.2019 granted a refund to the buyer. He did it even though Polish Post's time to deliver the parcel will not pass. Ebay employee explained that he made such a decision because the status of the shipment in the monitoring system did not change for a week. He did not think, however, that the status of the parcel could not change if the shipment was still sailing to the USA. The international delivery time was not taken into account here. If these are the eBay rules, they are incorrect because they do not take into account the specifics of international economic shipments and create opportunities for fraud.

Meanwhile, on 27/02/2019, the parcel arrived in the USA and was delivered to the buyer on 05/03/2019. So now, the Buyer (**) has both my goods and my money that have been returned to him prematurely. So you can see that he knew the rules of Ebay perfectly and specifically chose such a long form of delivery to be able to apply for a refund for a correctly sent parcel. From the moment when the refund was given to the buyer, I tried to contact him several times. I counted on his honesty and I wanted him not to collect the parcel and make a return to the sender which in no way burdened him financially.

Of course, all the attempts at contact remained unanswered, which only confirms the purposefulness and premeditation of his actions in order to deceive me. Ebay, however, sees nothing wrong in his decision and in no way intends to help me recover my goods or my money. It thus supports the fraudster and gives a signal to others that such actions are tolerated by them. The fraudulent intentions of the buyer can also be demonstrated by his criminal record, because in 2014 he was arrested for possession of drugs. Because Ebay has made the wrong decision in this matter should now correct its mistake.

Since there are limits of how much you can list for new accounts. A buyer sent an offer to purchase an item for $186; was excited. Wow just a few days in someone is buying something, plus I really need the money. Customer never paid, after a while eBay sent me an invoice for the 10% fee of the product, yes I said 10% so if the customer did actually pay no profit for me. Hard to mark up item and compete with other sellers. I called eBay, spoke to a guy at length, and complained, and he assured me there will be no charge to my PayPal debit card, but yesterday. My PayPal debit card is negative $40; I called this morning hopping mad. Yes they resolved the issue so they say, but this negative $40 charged will remain for 2 weeks!!!

In short I was charged for an item. No one never bought anything. No one ever paid for anything. Nothing was ever shipped. Nothing was ever delivered. And I’m negative $40 for two weeks. If there is nothing to draw off my card why debit it. eBay is all about the buyers, eBay was once a very easy company to deal with, but for people who are new to eBay, please do not sign up with eBay. It will be a very costly endeavor. I kid you not, a major cash drain, and colossus headache, because it's Saturday morning and I have one. DO NOT ACCEPT OFFERS FROM CUSTOMERS. Whether they pay or not you will be charged a fee and it will take you forever to get your hard earned money back!!! Yes two weeks is forever because it’s your money. They get negative 40 stars!!!

I was on the phone with a rep for 1hr which finally transferred me to a supervisor which tried lying saying that, "You could not use it on a purchase from a auction" which was a lie. One given fact, they'll take your order and your money, no problem there. What happens next can go a couple ways. Either they'll ship you a substandard overseas knock off, or you'll be in for a long wait while they accumulate enough sales to place an order with their vendor and then maybe get around to shipping to you. Months will go by without your order. Sometimes the seller will communicate urging you to be patient because it's in transit etc etc. but most often you'll have to resort to fighting for a refund. The buyer could not provide any details or proof about the fitment issue so the case was closed, but then eBay re-opened it, NOT THE BUYER BUT EBAY reopened it on 2/21/2019 stating (I've reviewed the details of the request and found that the best resolution is to ask the buyer to return the item to you for a full refund. Because the item was not as described, we're asking you to pay for the return shipping.). So long story short, the buyer saw a opportunity to commit fraud.

The item i shipped to the buyer with UPS was 25 lbs. and the Dim 27x24x10 and what the buyer sent back was in a Flat Rate 5x5x1 Priority Mail envelope weighing 1 lb. through USPS Postal service with a different return address with broken plastic inside the envelope, they then uploaded the USPS Tracking Number into eBay return case to get it closed. I contacted eBay to let them know about the fraudulent attempt by the buyer to keep my product and still get a full refund. I told them, "I have all the evidence. Just let me know who do I send it to." They told me as long as we see the tracking number for the return is uploaded they consider item delivered and case close, so the buyer was refunded the full $1,049.00 and kept my item. eBay as a whole should be shut down, they find every possible way to penalize sellers on there and take all their profits. Then when they penalize you and set percentages to where you have to raise your prices to compensate. Then you don't make as many sells because your prices went up. Then they penalize you because you don't make enough sales, obviously because your prices had to go up, and they take all your listings off so now you sell at all, forever according to them.

So at that point you just would rather close your account completely. They refused to do so, told me I could use it to buy things. I'm not going to let them make money off of me after doing that. Hell no. They're price gouging both buyers and sellers and unless you want to just hang around throwing money away I don't recommend them at all. Keep in mind I was a seller who had nothing but positive feedback and star ratings from all my buyers, and had built good reputation with those who purchased from me. And eBay still did me this way. I do not do returns but since she said it was damaged I asked for a picture and said that I would return it when I saw the damaged piece. She never did send me a picture. I doubted that she was being truthful because she never would send me a picture. Also, I overwrapped the 3 pieces and they were in bubble wrap, Styrofoam, a box and then other tissue.

She never would send a picture of the damaged piece and I was not going to give permission for credit unless I saw the picture of the damaged piece. I contacted eBay customer service several times about this. I tried to resolve it by doing the return and then when I said yes to the return she didn't want to return the item anymore. She just wanted a reduction of price and said it wasn't as described in the listing. Never would give me a picture and I told customer service this several times. I would not agree to do a credit as she could not provide a picture of the damaged item. So I paid for a return label. I contacted eBay that I was unable to do anymore on this issue for 10 days as I was going to be out of town and not able to get in touch by email.

They said the return label was not correct so the buyer did not return the item to me. While I was gone they made a determination on my case to credit the buyer for full payment and that it was not necessary for her to return the item. So this buyer got the item for free. I don't image it was even damaged. I was livid so upset about this. I felt through the entire process that I was never going to see my item again and felt that it was all being done just to get the item for free. Just had a bad feeling about it from beginning to end. I feel that not only the buyer scammed me but eBay did also. I removed all my items from eBay and will be closing out the account. I am a seller on eBay. I believe eBay is breaking federal law by over protecting the buyers to keep the profit high. I sold an item on eBay. I listed the item as nonrefundable. The buyer came after 21 days and claimed that the item is not working. By Law buyer has 3 days to claim full refund. Buyer is personable to make sure the item is functioning as intended in reasonable time.

I disputed the return and informed eBay that the item was fully functioning and customer confirmed item was in good condition when it arrived. I also informed eBay that we believe buyer broke the item and after used it 21 days decided to return it and by law as a seller I have right not to accept the return. eBay responded that they can overwrite any federal law since they are a global company and they have policy promises to customer 30 days money back guarantee. This is breaking US federal law. Even though I didn't accept the return and asked eBay to step up, eBay accessed to my PayPal account without my approval, and got money to send the buyers. This is fraud taking money from my account using my personal information without my approval.

The seller, eBay and FedEx all refused to make this right. FedEx showed the item "shipped" in their tracking, but told us by phone it was shipped to an alternate address. I reported this to eBay and they refused to do anything. The seller also has refused. FedEx says that they would reimburse if the seller would file a claim. We are stuck in the middle with no product and no refund. Very bad customer experience with both eBay and FedEx.

I canceled the order but the item was delivered with damaged open box with the seal broken, no packing slip, no return label. I have reached out to Coverwindowell (the seller), eBay, PayPal and my credit card company to no avail. The seller has not responded to any of my email attempts and the phone number of the company does not take any calls or messages.

I feel that the Coverwindowwell (the seller), eBay, and PayPal are not cooperating to resolve this issue. I believe that the seller knows that the item is stolen and will not answer me or credit my credit card. I rate Coverwindowwell poorly because they are either responsible for the fraudulent purchase or their customer service is so poor that they cannot be reached to address returning this merchandise so I can get the credit returned to me. I DO NOT recommend Coverwindowwell at all. They are not a reputable company.

Now, I have another issue... Ordered lilac sheets, received plum sheets. Had to pay $20 to return, even though the color depicted shows clearly The same on three separate screens. I received a notice when initiating the return process from eBay that I have used "does not match description/picture too many times" and if it is found that I am not in the right for this type of return by eBay, they will revoke my return privileges. eBay customer service advised me that they would side with the seller in this case because it was described as purple and the picture shade doesn't matter. I will no longer be purchasing anything that is dependent upon color from eBay...since the sellers can alter their photography and get away with it.

The issues with eBay these days are on both sides. As a seller eBay dictates every aspect of a sale. You can sell a broken item for parts or repair. The buyer can ask for a refund and eBay will force you refund even if your item is not returned, even if it is stated no warranty and that it is an as is sale. If you don't agree they will take the money out of your PayPal account which they own. If you don't get paid through PayPal they will take it out of your selling account by billing you for it then taking it out of your bank account... This are driven a 60% decrease in sellers on eBay over the last 10 years.

Add to that they went from a 2% eBay fee and 1% fee PayPal fee originally and the fee was not charged on shipping and handling charges to currently a 10% eBay fee and 5% PayPal or a 3.9% plus .30 cents a transaction fee for PayPal. Also if you send a regular letter offline it takes one to two stamps less than a dollar. The mini for first class postage with eBay for the same letter is $2.37... On top of that 42% of buyers on eBay are out to scam you... I've had people buy brand new laptops in the box and send back 20 year old ones and get a refund. I've had people buy electronic motherboards new and return the ones they replaced with different serial numbers then the ones shipped and get a refund which I had no control over.

I've had sellers ship me defective parts and return the parts then get cussed out or accused of stealing the item and them claiming it was never shipped or that it was modified or not the original item they shipped as a buyer. I've had sellers refuse to give a refund and keep up to 30% for restocking and shipping on a defective part. I've had buyers buy large amounts of a specific item over months then file for a refund of all items purchased and never return the item and get their money refunded. eBay is a sinking ship. Most sellers have moved to Amazon over the last several years even though they have no access to their money for sales for $45 days after the sale per Amazon policy because Amazon is less likely to be defrauded on for my particular needs considering I mostly sell used computer parts that are tested and working.

Amazon is not a good move because they typically do not allow sales of used items. Today I had a buyer ask for a refund on a parts item that was listed as broken without return the day after it was shipped out and 4 days before they will receive it because they have a history of buying the exact same item in large quantity then getting a refund and made the mistake of thinking my shipment had already been delivered. Of course it was a foreign national doing refurbishment business in the USA... Which is more and more common with eBay.

I also had a buyer receive a brand new LifeProof phone case in sealed packaging complain they didn't like the way it fit their phone so they admitted they intentionally broke the item to get granted a refund... Buyers can get ripped off easily on eBay by shady sellers usually not in the United States. Sellers tend to get ripped off a lot more often on eBay. In fact after a recent test you should expect to lose 35.8% of all items you sell on eBay as a seller currently and get ripped off by shady sellers 1 out of 35 transactions. As a buyer if you don't like these facts you probably shouldn't use eBay for either purpose.

Item listed as for Navara d22 but illegal to fit on one as it is the variant suitable only for the Nissan Frontier from America because seller has used images from other seller that has Au version, dropped the price by a few dollars and is stealing business from legitimate seller. eBay cancelled my refund because they claim I had 14 days to make the return according to their return policy. What policy? I didn't purchase from eBay but a seller that stated their return policy, and had no reference to any second return policy. i couldn't print the emailed postage label while working 6 days and 75 hour weeks and get to a post office.

I wasn't contacted by seller, I received an email from eBay saying they have been asked by seller to step in and without correspondence to/from me. Have reviewed my already accepted return and reversed and closed the matter so I cannot receive a refund anymore. And only because of a timeframe that wasn't stated in sellers policy, only eBay's, which I found out when I finally opened the label email. I tried to dispute this, eBay claims to have reviewed and upheld cancellation of refund again. WTF! Seller accepted return, but eBay cancelled it. It's a headlight, not fruit and veg, how is my refund dependent on such an absurd time specification? How is an eBay return policy dictating my refund when seller stated a return policy as well. To use this as an excuse for cancelling my legitimate refund is treating people with no respect. I am not a robot, I could have explained why i needed more time but I was never asked.

eBay has failed in consumer protection and I don't understand why I didn't have any interaction from them, they just looked after the dodgy seller with lawyer mumbo jumbo and I feel it was a humaneless process that disregarded my situation without any consideration. ** eBay, closing my account, many other services to use. A friend recommend I use eBay to sell as I downsize and pay bills left by a hoarder ex. Taking that advice was the second worst decision I have made in my life. First couple of sales went great. Then on a big box of CB radios (expensive to ship), eBay randomly decides to "hold" the payment, "to ensure the buyer gets good service". What?! What eBay doesn't see is that buyers are the *seller's* customer and *sellers* are eBay's customer.

Well, about 5 calls into customer service, first the hold would be released after I bought the shipping label, and Paypal would "spot me the money" rather than throw my bank account into overdraft. That was an out-and-out lie and a $5 overdraft fee proved it. Then the money supposedly couldn't be released until after delivery was confirmed. Then it couldn't be released until after the buyer posted positive feedback (which they wouldn't do, or even respond to messages). Then I was told I it would be released after the buyer had time to request a return if they wanted to. Then it would be released after it went through the "processing queue"... It took over 6 weeks of fighting to get money I was owed, and had to pay the shipping out of my own pocket during that time. I was then told there wouldn't be any more holds once I passed 10 positive feedbacks.

When I had 11 feedbacks, eBay held 2 more payments. Another call to customer service and "Leonard" told me that the holds were random and my next sale *wouldn't* have the funds held. The next sale, and eBay put a hold on the payment. I called to ask how the heck I was to buy shipping labels when they weren't giving me the money the buyer sent, in good faith, to pay for shipping.

Conveniently, "Leonard" wasn't available, and I was told to buy FedEx labels through their program (at 4 to 8 times the price) and absorb the extra expense. As yet, I'm out the cost of the last 4 items I've sold, I've had to pay for shipping labels to send out these things I've been forced to give away, and to rub salt in the wound, eBay expects to get commission payments on not only the sale, but the also on the shipping charges! I'm going broke fast here while trying to make a few bucks to get by. eBay has the absolute *worst* policies, and beats all cell phone companies *combined* for the worst customer service in the history of man.

I sold an engraved pocket knife on eBay to an international buyer. I normally turn off the international shipping option on my listings but must have missed it this time. Anyway, the pocket knife which I sold is pretty rare (unique, in fact) and I had a matching piece, slightly larger. So I reached out to the buyer, whose email address I received from PayPal (this was after PP separated from eBay, but before they turned off the email share feature) and they said they'd like to purchase my larger piece as well. They sent me some cash and I packaged & mailed the knives together.

Shortly thereafter I received notification from eBay's Global Shipping Program ("GSP") which explained that they'd retained my knife because Australia doesn't accept staghorn knives. Who knew? Up until this point I'd thought my buyer was in the US. My package was sent to a US location and I just didn't realize it was heading abroad from there. eBay informed me they were unable to return the knife but would refund me, which they did. I explained that I shipped an additional knife in the package and was told that was illegal per their terms. I replied that they do not own all conversation outside eBay and that I should be within my rights to reach out to someone whose email I received from PayPal.

They then explained that Pitney Bowes controls their shipping program and they have zero control over it. They gave me an email address which I corresponded with at least a half dozen times to no avail. Pitney basically said there's zero way to find the knife - it's gone. I spoke with eBay several more times, was eventually escalated to a higher level where I was told me to pound sand, essentially. I explained that this feels like stealing, and that I've been with them for almost 20 years and have sold nearly $100k, and they're risking losing a customer over this. They were not fazed.

On a sneaking suspicion I started watching for my knives, on eBay. Lo & behold, several months later, they both showed up, a few months apart, and listed by different sellers. I know they are the knives because they are unique, with dated, signed engravings, and unique staghorn handles. Heck, I think one of the sellers even ripped off my pictures. I have a document of my emails and screenshots with the sellers listing my knives.

It's complicated but this feels wrong & I wonder if there's not a class action suit in here somewhere. There may not be that many people being stolen from in the same way as I am, but the fact that eBay is pushing global shipping, which they declare is out of their control, and then items 'gone missing' are resold seems pretty shady. This happened a year ago or so but I still feel pretty taken advantage of. I'd pursue this on principle if there was an option to do so.

When a buyer purchased my computer I factory reset it, tested it to ensure it worked perfectly, and shipped it out to him. A week later he informs me via Ebay that he wants a refund as he is saying that it does not work. I have been scammed by people on ebay multiple times. I was afraid that this guy was going to take my working computer and swap it with a non-working similar Surface Studio as they are very expensive. I asked that he provide screen shots or a picture or two of the error screen and serial number as I knew what the serial number was. He provided nothing to me and after a few days I put in a complaint with EBay.

A few days later I got an email from EBay stating that I had to provide a return label for him. I went into the resolution center to check for updates and the status said - Return on Hold - awaiting documents from buyer. I figured that EBay understood and was looking to protect me as a buyer as well. I received an email yesterday 2/12/19 from Ebay stating that they issued the buyer a full refund for $2205 and that HE DID NOT HAVE TO RETURN the PC to me. I called Ebay and asked them how this was possible and they stated that they emailed me a week ago stating that I was to provide him with a return label and refund him the money. I informed them I was watching the resolution center messages and I believed that the issue was pending.

After speaking with multiple supervisors I was told that the best they could do was to email the buyer and “encourage” that the buyer send the computer back to me and that “you have to work it out amongst yourselves. There’s nothing Ebay can do.” I’ve also emailed the buyer and again have heard NOTHING from him. I informed them that this was absolutely unacceptable and that there are ZERO seller protections from Ebay and that I CANNOT believe they would do something like this to a seller who has had a perfect rating and has been a seller on Ebay for years!!

It would make sense to me that if someone wants a refund they send it to Ebay and hold onto it until the refund is issued and then send it back to the seller and charge them the shipping costs. That is NOT what happened here, they refunded him AND LET HIM KEEP THE $2,200 COMPUTER!!! Not only that they charged me the $220 sellers fee on top of it so I'm out almost $2,500. Between me being out $2500 cash, this man also has $2200 from me. I’ve googled him and he is a lawyer in Tampa, FL and he must have threatened them legally. Me being a Social Worker and not having the means for a lawyer I’m getting the very short end of the stick in this case.

I have already put in a Better Business Complaint and I will also be posting this story in an OpEd piece in the NY Times, my Tech Blog and I will be posting this information on flyers all throughout NYC and New Jersey - in Starbucks, Post Offices, and anywhere I can hang a sign to inform others of Ebay's horrendous practices. I am livid that they would do such a thing to an honest seller who has never had an issue with any of the things that I have sold. I am not a professional seller, I am a person who sells my own items to make ends meet when necessary. I will NEVER be using Ebay or Paypal again and I will make it my mission to inform as many other people as possible about what happened to me so that it does not happen to them too!

I knew better and I was stupid for even trying. It is just a hotbed of scams, hacking and criminal activity. The whole platform should have been shut down years ago. The code is incredibly outdated and feels like the whole venture is on autopilot now just raking in fees. They do absolutely nothing to stop the flood of obvious cybercrime.

It is very unfortunate but the reality is that the sellers on eBay will always get the short end of the stick. eBay more often than not will side with the buyer and you will end up with a broken item, exchanged item or simply buyer's remorse. On top of that eBay makes it really clear that if the buyer wants to return the item as defective they don't have to pay to ship it back.

eBay is now pushing and advertising everywhere "free returns!" and 30 days money back guarantees, all on our account (seller). Malignant buyers will buy products and say that something is wrong with it in order to receive a discount because the buyer doesn't want to lose out on the sale and have to pay shipping in order to receive the product. If you refuse to accept the return the customers will leave you a bad feedback in which it really affects seller performance tremendously. I contacted eBay about the unfair feedbacks and they simply reply with "The feedbacks cannot be removed because they represent the customer's experience during the transaction". Overall, I found eBay too unhelpful and eBay customers too tricky (they know the loopholes).

They told me I have to wait 4-5 days after payment before they release another $300. It's like I'm waiting on an allowance like I'm a 10 yr old. They entice you with the 5x points on purchases but they make it impossible for you to reach the amount needed to acquire it. This seems very discriminatory. Their ethical and legal practices need to be looked into. This card is literally useless. PLEASE don't waste your time and efforts on the eBay Mastercard.

Updated on 3/05/2019: I listed an item for sale on eBay. The only activity I got was from scammers, which fortunately I did not get caught in. However, come the end of the month I received an invoice from eBay for $299!!! I never sold anything and they know it because I never received payment and I copied them on all the same emails that I received and yet they still billed me for some random amount!!! They have no customer service and when I try to cancel or report the non payment I get a "Page cannot be found" error. DO NOT USE EBAY!!!

Original Review: I listed something for the first time on Ebay. I got scammed within 8 hours. The buyer offered me almost double the starting bid price (a red flag right there) then they sent a fake email from PayPal requesting a tracking number in order to release the funds (PayPal does not do this by the way!!) Ebay has no place on its site to even report such activity, all you can do is give the buyer the a bad rating. If I had fallen for it I would have been out the item plus $5,200.00. And good luck trying to find the buyer after that. I am taking all the emails and correspondence to the Attorney General's office. I'll sell locally from now on.

If I could give no stars I would. I sold a cellphone on eBay. Brand new, I tried it out for a week and didn't like it, bought a different phone. Listed it and it sold. The client then emailed me saying there were things missing, it didn't work right, and it was all deeply scratched up. I called eBay to find out the best way to handle this. They told me to work with the buyer. I emailed back that if she watched an independent YouTube video of an UNBOXING of the product she could see that there was nothing missing. I also asked what didn't work right because it was brand new and working fine when I tried it. I asked her to explain.

She emailed back "it was not described correctly" but didn't answer any of my questions about missing items or what didn't work. I called eBay again and they said to ask her for pictures of the scratches. I did that and I then got an email from eBay (13 mins later) saying that I accepted a return of the phone. I called eBay back and he said that it was just an automated email and that since the buyer never properly responded to the questions of my email that I didn't need to do anything else right now. I felt better.

The next thing (15 mins later) I see is another email from eBay "We asked the buyer to return the item". I was livid. Called eBay again (3rd call same day). Listened to (and recorded) a synopsis of "my case" that says "case is in review, there is nothing more required of you, please keep working with the buyer and check your seller dashboard for any updates". But the rep I was connected with said "We made a decision based on the buyer's claims, any return shipping will be billed to your account". I lost my cookies. I asked him if he saw my email asking her for info. I played him the eBay recorded case synopsis. I asked him if he listened to the recorded conversation of the last rep I talked to. He said it doesn't matter.

I asked for a supervisor. I got one 32 mins later. He said since "I" requested a return there was nothing he could do. (NO, I never accepted a return.) Why would I do that since I was in the middle of trying to get a response from this "scammer/buyer". At this point eBay has already decided to refund their money "as soon as delivery is confirmed" and I know I will get no phone back or one that is heavily damaged and there's not a GD thing I can do about it. Sellers beware on eBay! They just don't care! Lies, lies and more lies is what I got.

I appreciated their genuine care as this is normally lost with a company as large as eBay. But if everyone handled their business this way the world would be a much more pleasant place... Was in the process of bidding, had entered a max bid earlier and then noticed that the "increase max bid" button had disappeared from the upper left corner of the page. I've done quite a bit of bidding lately, and this is the first time that the button did not show up again in perhaps a minute or less. Typically it's available there so you have more than 1 opportunity to increase bidding by using their automated system. I didn't win that particular auction, which I attribute to some glitch on their end, or perhaps worse, something going on behind the scenes where someone has deliberately manipulated an auction.

So, I called eBay tonight to report the problem. Instead of being immediately routed to customer service, it immediately routed to some sales pitch and annoying survey for which there was no option to skip. So I dialed the number again. This time another survey/come-on for vacation packages/cruise! No option to skip the ad, and when pressed a button to try to skip it, I was disconnected. Tried again, and it disconnected before the survey even began!

So, I decided to go online and have them call me. The gal who took the call was courteous enough and admitted that she didn't understand the workings of the page well enough and that she would be transferring the call to a "bidding specialist." The gal who was supposed to be the 'bidding specialist', was really only gifted at 'bidding adieu,' because in ending the call, she hung up on me! But that wasn't until after she had tried to imply that I didn't know the auction had already ended, and then said it was a glitch on my end, and when I insisted that it was neither. It seemed like she was just searching for lame excuses because she really had no sufficient understanding about what probably had more to do with information technology and not knowledge of eBay bidding policies. As if she was grasping at straws, she then said that maybe the seller had just decided to end the auction early.

I asked about that policy and whether that is an approved activity. She said yes and offered to send me a copy of the policy. I refused and said that's a disreputable practice and that it is eBay's job to notify bidders if an auction is being stopped in progress. A pop-up message alerting potential buyers to a "closing early" auction would benefit both buyers and sellers, and doesn't seem like that would be too difficult a feat for a decent information technology department. But, it seems like they are only interested in making money off transactions and seem to care very little about both buyers and sellers.

Ebay needs a wake up call and a class action lawsuit to rattle their hard heads regarding seller protection. They show more favoritism to buyers than sellers. Buyers leave false feedback and even with proof of it, they do nothing to stick up for sellers. No one deserves false marks when they have proof it is not valid feedback. Ebay is a damn giant that needs a lawsuit to shrink its ego. Their egos are so fat they care not for satisfaction. We consumers must put a class action suit to them to make them answer and serve us better.

With legal paper trail proven product is what it is you still have to take it back. This isn’t the issue. The issue is the over $200 in shipping fees and eBay fees that will not be covered on a 500 dollar sale. Then told, “Well we are here to make a profit?” I guess I am selling to lose $.

With over 500 review with 5 stars not 1 bad review in the last year the small guys don’t matter. All I wanted is a return. I never excepting to stay pending till the buyer and I worked it out. They said I accepted it and nothing they can do now. I never did and called the second I saw it. They told me someone hit the button so it’s too late. They will trace the IP address back to me if I want to fight it. Lol I never hit it but if I did by mistake a call in less the 30 seconds on a mistake can’t be changed? First off I am both a seller and buyer on eBay and have a 100% positive feed with thousands of transactions on both sides. I sold a headlight that was fully listed with a part number and 12 good pictures. There were two headlights for the Subaru Legacy & Outback. One is a full LED and one is half LED and half Halogen.

Agreed to the amount of the offer from the buyer, shipped the item. All went well. Received an automatic return from eBay on the headlight a few days after it was delivered. Received the headlight back with two of the mounting points broken. Sent a message to the buyer about not only it being listed correctly but it also being broken. Buyer completely ignored the part of the message of it being broken and replied that the item...

"Hi the part number is shown on the box not the part itself. There are two different kinds of headlights for this vehicle LED and Halogen. However the info listed is falsely advertised, the headlight that you sent me is a halogen when the title said LED. I would like to receive full reimbursement for this part." Obviously he/she did no research to make sure the part number I listed was the correct headlight for his application?

I opened a case against him/her. Called eBay customer service. Was told to wait until Thursday and they would make their final decision. The next morning I woke up to an email that they favored the buyer and that the full amount was deducted from my PayPal account. I then called Customer service to ask them how I could have listed the item better. They told me that the item was listed very well and had no recommendations. They also told me that They could not help but I should try to contact the buyer to get more information to see if he/she had done the damage. REALLY!? Do you seriously think they are going to even respond to me let alone admit they broke the item? Especially since they got their money back!!

So now I am out the shipping cost both ways and the fee to eBay and the part which is broken. I am pretty sure now looking back that if I would have just deducted the 20% in the refund I would have had at least something. Since the beginning of the year, I've had problems with their customer service in which you have to wait a good 30 to 45 minutes to get through on some days. A case in point one Thursday recently in which I called to complain about "malicious" feedback left by a seller who had cancelled an order on me because the seller is from the UK and did not want to ship here to the US. I called that very same day to try and get it removed and it was not. Then I spent the next five days calling their customer service in which I was hung up on by one who called himself "Peter" (which isn't his real name anyway) because I wanted to talk to a supervisor about the matter and his aggressive and appalling attitude.

I immediately call back and report this jerk to the next person who is a woman and she is also acting somewhat disinterested and kept repeating "I'm sorry for your experience". I quickly had to point out the matter regarding the "Malicious feedback" which is a violation of their rules. She told me it would take two days to get this feedback removed completely (48 to 72 hours allegedly). It took a week. Why? Before it stuff like this was handled in less than 12 hours. I call again about removing an Unpaid Item Strike which I received for a bid I didn't make and this woman starts interrogating me as if I'm a criminal or something. I'm on the phone with this person for a good 30 minutes and requested a supervisor and was denied not only once but twice.

This person was acting like I'm the guilty party in the matter instead of looking or accepting my situation as I've stated to her. Then later on those famous words come out "I'm sorry". eBay employees have to be the most pathetic and apologetic group of customer service reps the world has ever seen. They are also lazy and deceive you into thinking that a matter has been resolved when now it takes a lot longer to. The worst part is that she threatened me in regards to my account and that if another Unpaid Item Strike would occur, it was not be removed. Which is basically like saying you screw up, you're done. I have a lot of positive feedback from thousands of sellers and while I've had a few problems with some sellers including one that cursed me out via their messages and I reported to them. (More on that later) I always make my timely payments and everything.

However this person treated me like I was some piece of trash that didn't know how to bid or make purchases on their site when I've been there for almost 20 years using it. Going back to the seller who cursed me out... Amazingly and I don't know how in the hell this happened, but the seller was still allowed to sell on their site. I reported him for a violation that was once punishable by suspension or end up being banned for threats or using abusive language got a slap on the wrist. That shows you what eBay is all about now...$$ and nothing more. Do they really care about their customers. I truly don't think so anymore. If they did, that woman would've let me talked to a supervisor and I was denied that.

They also keep adding hidden features that were not there before such as withholding payments for 21 days which is an absolute joke or creating a listing anytime you want and it goes up the moment you're finished. Now it's when they want it scheduled. They also try to force upon you to buy their shipping labels and set prices for your listings, which is basically like saying "You have to put this as we say or else". My recommendation is definitely DON'T DO what they ask you in these listings you're trying to create. Just use it as a guide but you have the right to change everything yourself manually. This is why people are losing money because they're trying to monopolize your listings even more now.

When contacting customer service, always get the so called name of the person you're talking because it is very helpful if there is a situation you are not happy with. Especially when it comes to requesting a supervisor which they will try to deny you by either hanging up or transferring you to a wrong department in which you still have to hang up and call back. Also, you should also voice your displeasures with the site as a whole and their customer service while you're talking to them on the phone. Remember, the whole conversation is being recorded and they forget that even they state that "this phone call is being recorded and monitored for quality assurance".

The only way you're going to help you is by stating what you're not happy about and in the end you may see some type of positive resolution. It is a completely frustrating experience but remember that the "customer is always right!" and these people don't know that. It really is a disappointment that their site has gone downhill and I'm starting to lean a little more towards other websites for purchases in the future because it is better for me not to get frustrated over these people. They're not worth it and they deserve to lose money.

I've happily shopped bits and pieces on eBay for years but have always been quite careful, knowing things are not always as good as they are described. I will no longer bother with eBay. My most recent items were all fails: a "Bicycle Seat Cover Silicone Gel Pad", from znuonline, which has no gel or silicone. "Transition Photochromic Progressive Multi Focus Reading Glasses", from 1st.ing, which are worse than no glasses at all and an "ankle Protector Ankle Brace Guard Foot Support Sport" from lalanggift, which was completely different to the one shown. You can pretty much guarantee that items listed as Sterling Silver, even when "marked 925", are only silver plated. It's just too disappointing. I will not bother with eBay anymore. If you are going to shop on eBay, be very alert, read every detail and be very conscious of the dates of expected arrival and when a transaction will be closed.

If neg feedback is removed, all feedback becomes irrelevant. I was never contacted by eBay. Just had my feedback removed. Horrible! Don't trust feedback on eBay, I certainly never will again. Sold Justice League Ultra 4K HD to a user named ** who files a claim that there's no digital code WITHOUT opening the item. The second most stupidest scam I ever encountered in my 10 years of selling. Despite providing evidence on my end that there's digital code inside, eBay came to a decision at 10:32AM and sided with buyer 1 minute after he escalates claim on eBay (10:31AM).

It's obvious that no one read the case and that eBay's resolution system is AUTOMATED. The only slim chance you have of turning the case in your favor is contacting customer service. Problem is that weekend customer service people are lazy incompetent fools and some of the weekday staff are unhelpful and rude. To add insult to injury, the buyer thanks me for giving him a refund when eBay did that which proves that this scam artist is a professional who has done this before. No worries because Abraham **'s days of scamming professional sellers are finished once he shows up on badbuyerlist.org.

eBay deserves to lose its sellers to Amazon, Bonanza and other small selling sites. Yet eBay is so pigheaded that they blame Amazon for stealing their sellers when they can't even look at themselves in the mirror. They have forgotten what made them great in the first place. In fact, eBay should be under criminal investigation for allowing scammers and possibly criminal organizations to run wild on their website. More investigative journalism on eBay's business practices is needed other than The Guardian UK newspaper which exposed how shady eBay gets when dealing with scammers. It is ridiculous that I get suspicious messages from people offering to trade digital codes for something else. I am getting close to my breaking point with eBay where I may have to move into a new selling website.

I was first told the seller would send a return label. When this did not happen, I was told I had to ship it back. I was not able to add the return tracking number and was told to call back when the item was shipped.

They refused to take the tracking number because they said the account was under my mother's name and she would have to authorize the return. My mother had nothing to do with this order. It was just shipped to her address. She is 83 and would probably not answer the phone if they called. If she answered, she would hang up thinking it was a scam call. This is a great place for less than honest sellers. Getting a refund for an eBay product is generally impossible even when you receive a defective or wrong item. I shop on eBay far less now than previously. Amazon is far better at weeding out the bad sellers and refunds are so much easier when need be. If you use eBay, be sure to make yourself well aware of return policies because eBay is going to leave you on your own when a problem arises. eBay makes a lot of money from its sellers so they are not likely to take action because they will lose revenue when a seller is banned. This is the second time in the last year I’ve had to use eBay customer service. Both times proved that I have wasted my time calling eBay customer service. I don’t know what happened to this company. They used to be so good and were of great assistance. Now it seems like they hire twits with no customer service skills and they are no service to the buyers who have been loyal, faithful and support their business. And trust me I have dropped a lot of money on eBay over the years.

My most recent transaction with customer service was when I had placed an order from my laptop since the seller would not accept payments from the mobile app or PayPal. When entering my credit card information I was prompted to hit a next button. I expected this to be the review page before placing order of where to enter promo codes. Immediately my credit card was charged. Coincidentally I never would’ve purchased without the 15% promo code eBay was offering for just a few hours. So I called customer service and was told since the order was placed there was nothing they could do. Only option: I could contact the seller and ask for cancellation. Of course there is something they can do.

They can credit my account the $26 difference. The eBay customer service rep says to me “Is there anything else I can help you with today?“ I could only reply thru gritted teeth “Why would you ask that? You didn’t help me at all.” So I asked the seller to cancel and I sure hope they do because they offer free returns and I purchased from another seller. I had to do it this way because the promo code was only good for another hour and the eBay customer service rep could not assist me with that either after she was asked to. In fact she told me to place an order with the same seller and I mentioned to her again about the promo code expiration and she replied, “Oh yeah. It will expire and there’s nothing that we can do about that.“ eBay gets an F in my book for customer service that is pure awful and just such stupid people.

I am periodic eBay user since 2004 with about 130 transactions and 100% positive feedback. I recently sold a 10 month old, fully working, under warranty Apple laptop to a buyer for $1,049. The buyer had 0 feedback and had been eBay user for less than 30 days. Four days after receipt of my laptop the buyer started a return request claiming and showing with photos that the laptop display was malfunctioning (showing blurry for a 4” vertical strip).

I exchanged many messages with the buyer trying to get more details. I understood the buyer did not want to wait for a warranty repair, but I also was concerned there was more to the story as I found it very odd this issue would begin out of nowhere. The buyer told me there was no shipping damage and that it worked for a day or two before it started having the problem. I asked the buyer to take the laptop to Apple to have it examined and he refused. I spoke with eBay customer service stating my concern about the situation, but I was forced to accept the return by eBay.

I spoke to eBay customer service again after I was forced to accept the return and I was told A) I would have two days to evaluate the laptop after the delivery was confirmed and issue a refund and B) if there was any problem that I was protected for Faulty Return and that I had nothing to worry about it because of my long standing positive eBay user history. I was skeptical, but at this point I well understood eBay and eBay customer service does not look at any facts of the situation, they only follow the script and what their computer system tells them to do. I had no choice but to go through the motions.

I nervously received the laptop knowing I was almost assured screwed. I opened it and it was in perfect physical condition as I sent it out and the screen was in fact malfunctioning as shown in the buyer’s photos. I took it to the Apple store and they did the minimal diagnostics and then took it from me to send for repair. Apple told me it would be three weeks before I got it back. At this point it had been the two days, I had no reason to think this was anything but a super weird circumstance, as the buyer claimed, and felt obligated as moral person and based on what eBay told me to issue the buyer a refund. So, I pushed the refund button.

About four days later I got an email from Apple stating the technicians found internal liquid damage in the laptop when they opened it and that the repair was not going to be covered by warranty. It was in fact going to cost $800. At this point I immediately called back eBay and spoke to a customer service rep. I was told within minutes of the conversation not to worry and that I would be covered by the faulty return. It was explained in detail that this would not affect my account and that I could expect to see a credit, as if the laptop had been sold, within 24 hours. I was quite surprised at the simplicity of this, they did not even want information I received from Apple, but it lined up with the previous conversations I had with eBay and the general trend of following the prompts.

Three days later no credit posted. I called eBay customer service to inquire, and quickly realized no one knew what I was talking about with a credit. I eventually got to a proper supervisor who quite frankly explained to me the following. Because I had voluntarily clicked refund and the system did not automatically refund the buyer, I had voided the protection eBay was otherwise going to offer me. I was told this is how the system works and there was no changing it. Like I said earlier I already understood eBay customer service did not at all consider the facts and just followed the script, but I found this (and still do) unbelievable.

I called again and spoke with another Supervisor to be harshly told the same thing: "Yes, you would have got the courtesy credit, but you clicked refund, so now it’s your responsibility and eBay is no longer involved in the matter." Of course, I was never warned about this earlier while asking many times what the details of the process was, but I am sure it is some user agreement fine print somewhere.

I understand eBay should really be taken only as a medium for selling and expecting anything from them other than to bill you the fees is clearly a mistake. I never really believed eBay would protect its buyers, sellers, or reputation if it had any cost to eBay. I just am in awe that eBay’s customer service can be so mindless and hypocritical. If I had not been told over and over again not to worry, even to the point where I was told a credit was issued, I might not be so aggravated.

The reality is I was forced to accept the return, forced to issue a refund, and then now I am left with a broken product worth almost nothing. eBay’s customer service not only chose to support a user with literally no history over one with 15 plus years, but then given a simple opportunity to make it right, eBay basically gave me the middle finger and told me I made a mistake pushing the refund button.

Even though eBay made the mistake of telling they would protect me and even had issued a credit to me, that eBay would not stand by that because that is not what the system lets them do when the user pushes the refund button. And that is the kind of company eBay is. I will not be using their service any longer and I wanted to share my story as a warning for anyone who choosing to use eBay. At this point the aggravation of dealing with the deceitful buyer and eBay is far worse to me than even the money. God help you if any eBay transaction does not go smoothly.

With a final response of "they think it may be x (it wasn't), as such no discount for you and we aren't pursuing it further to see what may have been wrong. But you may be lucky enough to win another discount code, thanks for contacting us". So not only did they not honour the code, they didn't actually find out what was wrong and their answer was to offer me the chance of winning another code that may not work!

Imagine going to a restaurant and you get food poisoning from a steak, and when you complained they said "Oh, sorry you got food poisoning from our steak. We don't know why you got food poisoning from our steak, it must have been something you did. We aren't going to bother to find out why, but don't worry, if you keep coming back and you are really lucky, you may win a steak!" Would you go back for steak?

I sold an item through eBay which was delivered in time to the seller. I printed a label that had the cost calculated according to the item’s, dimensions and weight. I visited FEDEX and shipped the item on November 11th, 2018, from one of their local offices. I confirmed cost and delivery time there. The item was delivered in time to the buyer. Buyer confirmed the item was received exactly as promised and delivered in time. eBay charged a 10% selling commission for that item. This was much higher than their normal commission (5%), but they said my item (a musical instrument - saxophone) was an “exception” to the rule. As I began to learn more about their listing fees and selling commissions I realized that they charge too much for trying to sell one-off small, low-value items, like in my case. (I don’t own an online store and the items I would like to sell are of relatively small value.).

So, I made an online complaint and withdrew all my products from the eBay website. I asked to close the account but I received an invoice a month later that asks for an additional $34.79 for shipping fees for the musical instrument that I sold more than a month earlier. When I called they said on the phone that these are shipping fees that I owe to FEDEX. I visited FEDEX’s website and re-tracked the package and there is no mention for additional cost. Neither their, nor in my FEDEX account. Also, the dimensions and weight of the product is different (smaller) in the FEDEX website than in the eBay website. eBay reports a much heavier product although they admit that they never check any of that data. eBay claims that because I now owe them $34.79 they cannot close the account and I’m liable for the $34.79. They also claim that they charge those small amounts all the time and most people do not complain.

Like most people I frequently use eBay for purchases of items and am absolutely disgusted with their customer service and ethics. I have now probably bought in excess of 20 items that were fake/counterfeit and in direct violation of UK laws and legislation around the sale of goods. One seller openly admitted to me that the things he was selling (Nike Air Max trainers) were fake and his answer was simply, "So what!" I was amazed to see lots of feedback from other buyers on eBay saying the same thing about this seller (that he is selling fake/counterfeit goods in breach of UK trading laws).

I complained to eBay who have clearly not done anything as he is still trading online and still selling counterfeit goods! In fact the last time I complained online the eBay staff member cut the chat off saying I was unprofessional because I had said this was a piss take! So it's unprofessional to say something is a piss take when eBay is complicit in allowing illegal activities to continue however it isn't obviously unprofessional for eBay UK to allow their loyal customers to be continually sold illegal goods!

I also tried to complain to eBay that eBay wouldn't let me leave negative feedback down for the seller who had knowing sold me illegal/counterfeit goods. Their PROFESSIONAL response was simply, "Well I am sure it will sort itself out!" I also got sold a fake motorbike helmet that had fake safety stickers on it, luckily I noticed this and returned it. Luckily I never had a crash otherwise I would probably now be dead. Again this seems lost on eBay when I complained! This is the service you get as a loyal customer who spend £100's each year!

I'm not thrilled they take it upon themselves to turn this feature on (at which time I have to go back into the listing to turn it off, again), but when they don't notify me, it's infuriating. I HATE receiving an offer from a buyer and telling them I'm not accepting it. I always tell them this is on eBay, but it's a waste of my time. eBay doesn't own the item so what gives them the right to turn on this option? If I wanted to offer this option I would turn on the feature when I list it. eBay should take heed - it's no longer the only game in town. I'm a long-time eBay customer and have had generally positive experiences. On Nov. 26, I purchased a larger ticket item ($185) but thought I was safe because I was covered by eBay's buyer protection program. The seller created a shipping label, but never shipped the product. Creating the shipping label apparently delays your ability to file a complaint with eBay because you have to wait for the estimated shipping time to pass -- despite the fact that the tracking information clearly shows the item was never shipped.

I followed information on eBay's website about initiating a complaint (hard to find and not very clear -- which is a change from the past). I contacted the seller, who did not respond. Even though I followed the instructions on eBay's website, my contacting the seller only counted as "a message" and not an official dispute case, which I finally found out when I contacted eBay. Then I find out that eBay doesn't even follow it's stated policy for disputes. eBay policy says a seller has three days to respond to a complaint.

What they don't tell you is eBay starts counting at zero -- so what you and I would think of as the first business day is day 0 in eBay's book, which means the seller actually has four business days. When I get the confirmation email from eBay about my dispute, it actually lists the deadline for the seller response as five business days. My advice -- if you have a problem with an order and want your money refunded, don't bother with eBay. My bank was able to get the money back into my account in two days. I have since deleted my eBay account -- not worth the hassle if something goes wrong.

With access to my email they were able to get past eBay's poor security and purchase a $750 item, through my linked PayPal acct. PayPal flagged the purchase as fraudulent, but they did nothing to stop it though I responded to their text alert immediately.

PayPal didn't stop eBay from shipping the item, as the funds shouldn't have been available. I also called eBay immediately, I couldn't find that I actually purchased the item as the hacker hide the purchase. eBay said there was nothing they could do (Really???). The only upside was that the purchase was routed to me. eBay's security is riddled with holes, as it can't identify fraudulent sellers from trolling their site with fake items. It also doesn't care to protect the buyers' accounts with 2 factor authentication, or anything much beyond a weak password (they can't handle many special characters which provide for stronger passwords). They handle millions of dollars of buys' and sellers' money but offer yesteryear security to protect legitimate users of their site. Be very cautious of eBay, a short Google search found that this is a common issue and has been going on for a very long time - SCARY.

He got it quick, didn't want it, suppose to send back which he never did, and eBay is backing him on his word. eBay is a scam, there's some good people selling good stuff, but don't let their half ** reviews fool you, it's a setup. Add up all the money and items they RIP people off for each year, I'm such it's 100's of thousands or millions. Please don't get ripped off. Don't buy or sell to prelude88robert, shameful idiot.

Iweiga, the seller doesn't tell you that the hard drive isn't included or that you have to buy it separately, you find out after trying to play the video. Don't buy it.

However, I wanted to caution that eBay seems to have ramped up removing appropriate negative seller reviews. I could hardly believe it because, being a seller that has received one manufactured negative review in 19 years, I couldn’t get any resolution! I had ongoing issues with a book purchase... never sent, no communication in weeks. When I filed a complaint with PayPal, suddenly I got communication, albeit being yelled at by the seller. The books that I paid priority shipping for arrived shoved into a paper envelope that got damp. I left a negative comment originally and, then, when the mess arrived, tried to leave the follow-up. Thought it was odd that after trying three times, it just wouldn’t post. I perused recent feedback and people were being screwed out of $80+ for calculators they never received and said the seller refused to return their money. So, much worse than my $15.

Long explanation to share this - I went to look today, all of the seller’s negatives were removed, including mine! Since when can a seller, that’s only been around a year, have all removed within 24 hours!? My guess is eBay is wanting to grab as much money as they can this holiday season and do not want buyers to be forewarned. No doubt the company only cares about stockholders. I’m tiny peanuts to them, only selling maybe $6K a year, but, boy, from reading other reviews, high rated sellers are getting the shaft, too.

Anyway - do not trust that sellers are actually ok by feedback right now. I’d go with a company that actually has a customer service department, not outsourced individuals that get paid by number of calls not solved complaints. I’m not a huge Amazon fan myself, but at least they solve issues buyers have with third party merchants! *Also - look at the ID history. The sellers I HAVE had issue with, like this experience, change their user IDs frequently.

eBay decided to make me pay $38 because they think I sold something outside of eBay??? I never did! When I listed something, one of eBay user asked me if he/she could pay $370 with shipping for my PS4 using PayPal. I told that person to go to my eBay listing and click on "buy it now" to purchase it. But that eBay user still gave me his PayPal address to me?? I ignored it and thats when eBay thought I sold the PS4 to that person because I got PayPal address from that person??? I tried to tell eBay I never sold to that person and I ignored the messages. They still said I have to pay $38??? For something I never did?? This is bull!! I have been with eBay since 1996 with perfect feedback and now this crap they are throwing at me? I WILL not pay the $38 to them! And after I get all my paid items, I will close my eBay account. They are greedy and thief!

I had experienced problems with SELLING on eBay where buyers decided they wanted a refund and eBay sided with them and it cost me time and shipping. I had thought they were biased toward buyers. I just tried to purchase a software item and the seller pointed me to a Dropbox to download the bits. Despite several messages, I never got a serial number (making the software useless.). eBay Resolutions said that I did not qualify for the money back guarantee. So they are allowing this obvious scammer to operate.

eBay has "rules" sellers are supposed to follow, but eBay does not enforce them. They allow sellers to collect money from buyers, and many sellers just take your money and never ship the item. Worst of all, they allow sellers to post your PRIVATE information anywhere they want to on outside websites. This includes your full name, address, phone number, email address, and anything they want. Contacting customer service does nothing. They just say that they "can't" control what other websites do, which is the truth, but they NEED to hold their sellers liable for this terrible breach of privacy. This, along with many, many other breaches by too many sellers, make eBay a horrible risk to your privacy as well as your wallet.

eBay has some of the worst customer support I have ever dealt with. I contacted them late October with an issue with an order. After a long hold I was connected to a non-native English speaker. After not being able to help me and bouncing me between departments they issued a credit. I was told "the credit must be used by the end of next month." Nov 30th I log onto eBay to use my credit, but there is no credit. I contact eBay support again. Another long hold followed by a non-native speaker. This speaker once again transferred me off. The next representative was extremely difficult to understand and I had to continuously ask her to repeat herself. They refused to honor what the previous employee had stated when I had called in October.

I asked to please speak to a supervisor. I was told "the supervisor will just tell you the same thing". I stated that was fine and I would like to hear it from the supervisor. The representative refused to let me speak to a supervisor. I wished them a good evening and will be calling back in the morning. eBay, you need to have good buyer support if you want people to put trust in making purchases from your website. I'm not even upset about being directed to a (probably) foreign call center. I'm just upset over the lack of willingness for your representatives to honor their word and the lack of professionalism when attempting to right an issue.

By mistake I purchased twice a video game. I didn't know my son had press the button for buying and transaction with one seller was not completed so eBay canceled my account. But I still had the other purchase and they didn't care about holding the guarantee with it. I had paid so had to wait... and wait... and seller bedheads_detroit didn't ship it. I started a claim with PayPal and he immediately shipped it arguing he had already shipped it... But he shipped empty boxes!!! eBay allows this type of actions by closing accounts and not being responsible for a purchase and then you can't even post the result so fraudulent sellers will take advantage of that. Avoid eBay... and bedheads detroit who also sells on Amazon.

My items for sale were ended by eBay for a bogus reason. I was selling authentic designer shoes and they stated that due to the fact that it could be "unauthentic" they had to remove the items?! eBay is no longer a site to find good deals and sell personal items. They are in competition with retail stores and their deals are not good deals. I will sell my items at a consignment shop and buy my items from other websites or stores from now on. I was once able to sell items on eBay about 15 years ago on my old eBay account. This was a horrible waste of my time and time is scarce. I am offended that someone would accuse me of selling "unauthentic items." WTF.

On 10/29/2018 I ordered a translate device. PayPal quickly removed the money from my account. As of this date I still have not received my product. I just finished a conversation with one of their reps with no solution. I have been on hold forever and decided to write this review. I have come to find out eBay has locked me out of my account. I wish to close my eBay account and get a refund from this highly unorganized company. Beware. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER!!! It will take you forever to fix the mess they will make of your account. Apparently there was an unauthorized charge placed on my account for 13.99 from Amazon. I closed my Amazon account several months ago. I was charged 99.99 for the translate device. Should be simple to fix this with a good company.

I had a very bad eBay experience, where I ended up leaving (18) negatives for a Seller. In 17 years of using eBay, I may have left 3 or 4 negative total. Long story short, the Seller was pissed, and left my name, phone, address and email information in his responses to my feedback. The first eBay representative says, "Oh that's bad," but he cannot do anything. He passed me to a supervisor, who talked over me, removed (1) feedback I had left for the Seller, and sent me a nastygram from eBay stating I was in violation of their policies for "feedback extortion". I called back and got nowhere, Friday I will try in the day and hope to get my call taken by an call center on this continent. I tried to email eBay support first, knowing the call center would not be anything but a disaster and it totally was worse, it is a megadisaster. I use the site to collect Baseball Cards, so it's going to be a bummer, to stop using it, but I'll save money and make my wife happy.

I have been a member of eBay for some years and never had a problem that was not resolve quickly. I have a 100% positive rating and have an above standard rating. I have not used them for over a year as I had nothing to buy or sell. Then three months ago I tried to sell a complete camera package. Someone from an African country tried to scam me and I reported the issue to eBay complaints. Instead of thanks I got a warning email. Strange as I was in the right. I decided to break the camera package down and sell it as individual lots.

The camera body sold but eBay put my money on hold with PayPal for up to 21 days. They rescinded that after the buyer received the camera but, although I had charged postage in the sale they held on to it and I had to pay up front. I have now sold one of the lens and they have done the same the lens was sold on 24/11/2018 and the lens was dispatched on 26/11/2018 but eBay have put a hold on the payment until 9/12/2018. They are holding the monies in PayPal. Again I have to wait. I am a pensioner on restricted income. I have to upfront postage even though the buyer has paid for it. They gain the interest.

I trade as above standard and they treat me like this how do they treat others. I am not impressed and intend to end my membership of their spurious company. This is just a warning to anyone out there who is fool enough to believe that their customer services care. I have tried messaging on a number of occasions but no reply.

I always shop eBay. I never had an issue until now, I purchased a unicorn costume for Halloween. When it came in it was defective. The fringes were falling off the dress. I had to sew it by hand. The crown of the unicorn was broken off. I had to super glue and sew that as well and the mane was all torn apart. It was very frustrating as if I wanted to I could have made the costume myself. The point was to buy it so I wouldn't have to do anything as I am a single mother that works. My daughter was upset. I had to fix the problem. I wrote a review honestly and recently got a message from the buyer bribing me to send the money back to the incorrect place so I could revise my review and it said as though in this is copied from my email. "sarejidian has asked if you can revise the feedback that you left for Unique Girls' Deluxe Rainbow Unicorn Costume Halloween Everyday Cosplay Dress-Up!"

I am not revising the truth. Do not buy from this seller sarejidan. They sent the payment wrong in the first place and I was so upset they wanted me to be dishonest and not warn other when at the time I paid 20.99. I will be shopping Amazon from now on for Christmas. It's a shame how one person can make eBay look crooked with crooked sellers!! I had lots of Christmas shopping to do. Online is the only way but eBay will not be bullying me to revise a review just to get money back. They better come up with a better compensation. I will be reporting to the BBB.

I’m a seller and there are other sellers that sell the same things I do. They often have the same item listed multiple times so the only way I can compete is to list multiple listings for the same item as well. I get a 7 day ban for multiple listings and they don’t. I also have knowledge of a seller who not only violates this policy, but violates several, other policies including having multiple accounts to circumvent rules and misrepresenting where the items come from. These are things that are easy to verify. What does eBay do after reporting them multiple times? Nothing. Yet I get punished for doing the same thing they do as it appears to be common practice. Going to call a lawyer later and see if that’s legal.
