eBay closed all my auctions and banned me from selling for no real reason and after I talked to them, they said they are not interested in my business because they did not make a lot of money. That when I told eBay rep that this is nothing but discriminating against me. I therefore advise all not to sell on eBay because they pick and choose who has the right to sell!!!?

eBay works against their sellers. I have over 15 years continuous experience selling over $1 million through them. I maintain a 100% feedback rating. They have taken over $100,000 in commissions from me, yet they continuously harass me, and other sellers. They have agreements with particular shippers. If you don't use their 'approved' shippers you cannot leave tracking information. If you don't provide tracking #, eBay marks this against you, on a % basis. If you fall below their 'acceptable' level they increase their fees. My sales are about 1/3 freight shipments.
I've used many carriers - FedEx Freight, UPS Freight, Yellow, Old Dominion, R+L, and more. I ship freight almost weekly. But I use the carrier that gives me and my customers the best service, both $$ and time, care, etc. I can't upload tracking because they're not "Safe" according to eBay, even though some of these are Fortune 500 Corps. eBay uses a call center in the Philippines, and I've nothing against people there. But eBay is completely inflexible in their 'rules' which are frequently changed. If you don't have to buy through eBay, then don't. Too many scammers on all 3 sides-selling, buying and eBay themselves.

You've been warned by a 20 year eBayer... With all their policy changes eBay now allows buyers to steal from you. The scam is simple, they pick up a damaged item, search eBay, buy a new product that matches it. Then when they get your new item, they switch it out and file a complaint against you. Or, they have it for a week, damage it while using it and do the same, lodge a complaint. It doesn't matter, you're made to pay return shipping and it's all done automatically. You can't stop it, eBay takes hold of your PayPal account and does whatever they want with it. They DO NOT make the buyer show that item was even damaged during shipping. Even if the boxes are in perfect condition and there is no way a high end cast iron pan could get gouged by cardboard inside two boxes they still just remove the money from your PayPal account like it's theirs.
The customer service is outsourced so you can't understand them and they don't want to help you anyway so it's pointless. You write the service team and fill out all the forms to say you disagree with the return and all you get is the same digital copy they send to anyone who fills out that form. I can only recommend eBay to thieves or people who are selling enough that they can put up with the losses. eBay has no Seller protection policy like they claim, it's so full of loopholes a 5 yr old knows how to go around it. Not sure why they decided to allow such theft to occur but I know one thing, people are leaving by the masses and they will be a thing of the past as more reputable sites open. My advice, sell Aunt Millie's rare wooden leg somewhere else or you'll be doing a return and then find it's been chewed on by a bunch of beavers!

I find most of sellers on eBay are liars or they are just plain stupid and this site is an extreme example of buyer beware. When questioned they either lie (as in the case of artwork), I had a seller tell me the work was an original Motherwell which he was auctioning at an opening bid of $60.00. I knew this was ridiculous so I wrote him just for fun and he told me it was an original. Then I just bought "dinner" plates which turned out to be lunch plates and the sellers were standing by their description.

I have had issues with the seller's truthfulness as to what it is they're selling, but not with eBay. eBay supports the buyers and stand behind their commitment. They are about customer satisfaction. I use them a lot and have found great stuff at great prices.

This is day five now. I'm trying to resolve this issue. It started by purchasing an item on eBay. I received the item it was the wrong size. I returned it the same day I received it, notified eBay of the situation, told them that the seller was going to charge me a $14 restocking fee and $20.69 for a shipping label. They told me that they will take care of everything not to worry. I received a notification from the seller that he received my funds and he did in full however when I checked my account I noticed that there was a $20 and $0.69 charge from PayPal come to find out eBay charge me for the return shipping label. The seller told me it was out of his hands. He did not charge me eBay charge me and eBay also wanted to charge a $14 restocking fee.
I contacted several times eBay on this issue without it being resolved and constantly being told it will be taken care of. Finally I demanded to speak to someone in escalations. I did so today but to no avail did I receive my refund back. They told me they are going to look into the matter however I was promised that I would not be charged any return label and now I am being charged. The worst thing of all is that they took money from my account without my approval nor did anyone tell me that they were going to take money out of my account. My own children do not steal from me. How dare they. This is against the lure and I'm hoping the Attorney General's office will hit them with a nasty fine so this nonsense stops. Who do they think they are.

I sold a Croscill King size quilt with two matching shams for thirty dollars. It cost $18.00 to ship it. The idiot person that bought it wanted to return it and told a lie to start a return request. She reported it as damaged and reeked of mothballs and the smell was so bad it gave her a headache. She shipped it back to me, and when I received it, no mothball smell, it smelled rather nicely as it was shipped in a garbage bag. So it smelled like nice clean plastic. He just seen another she liked and wanted to purchase another, and that is supposed to be alright. EBAY ALLOWS SUCH TO GO ON. I remedied the situation. I have deleted my eBay account and will not be buying or selling on eBay anymore.

After over 12 years selling products on eBay have slowly seen their customer service go downhill. Now have implemented a new return policy that will kill all small businesses, THE new return policy is implemented on (auction items also) So I have to ask people have you ever seen a auction company that allows you to return a item because you are not happy with it!!! Anything that you have bought at a legal legitimate auction is sold as a final sale yet EBAY now allows buyers to buy a item at a low auction price review the item at the cost of the seller then decide if they want the item if not they can return it at the cost of the seller expense. THIS IS CRAZY!!! And I think it may be illegal (when you post all sales are final) yet eBay will put a hold on your money and force you to honor the return now!!!

I purchased an item from a seller and she packaged my item in a old coffee box instead of a postal box despite me paying over $100 for my merchandise. The following day my package states it has been delivered but it is nowhere to be found. I contacted the seller and the seller refuses to help and USPS stated "That my package could have been lost and accidentally marked as delivered". I contacted eBay for a refund of my money due to the fact that the seller which is using "eBay" name to sell merchandise did not take the time to order proper packaging. The customer service rep. I spoke to said they are not responsible for how and what the seller does and they will give me a refund but I have to file a police report.
My whole take on it is if eBay can openly say they don't stand behind what they allow to use their name, why should me as the consumer pay for the company's carelessness. Secondly, if a package is lost (a $100 pair of skates for my son's birthday), why would I have to file a police report. To me that just seems like the company does not want to take responsibility for not screening what goes on their website. Soooo we as consumers must pay for their careless marketing. I would advise anyone reading this to use Amazon, they ensure their sellers are legit and held to a standard and will stand behind items being marketed on their website.

eBay charged took $335 from my credit card through PayPal to refund to the buyer before I received returned item. I sold and sent Louis Vuitton purse, the packaged was held at post office and when the buyer went to pick it up the package was already had a big hold according to the buyer. The buyer said there wasn't Louis Vuitton I sent her. The buyer open return request case, then eBay decided to do favor to the buyer and took $335 from my credit card through PayPal before I even get a chance to received my item back and check. The return tracking number showing the package had address problem and on the way back to the buyer, and eBay already took money from my acct to refund to the buyer. I'm not even sure if the buyer sent me my Louis Vuitton purse or something else since buyer claim there was different brand in the box which is a lie.
I called eBay over four times, but eBay wouldn't even reopen case or appeal. I don't even have my item back and I lost money. $335 might not a big amount, but it's not only about money, it's about eBay acted unfairly. I called my credit card company and they can't even dispute the charge because eBay charged me as "fee". I called PayPal, and I was told to contact local police department for this issue. I have tracking number and screenshots of messages and emails from eBay. eBay shouldn't take money out of my credit card before I received right return item.

I have been a seller as well as a buyer on eBay for over 10 years, and lately I feel eBay is going down the drain! There is a lot of people selling nothing but junk. Over the past month or so, 3 of the electronics/computer related items I bought were non-working garbage. Interestingly, 2 of those 3 sellers just refunded my money without even asking for the items back without question! This tells me they knew they were selling non-working junk. As someone else mentioned, there are a lot of Chinese knockoffs and fake items floating around as well. Ebay's policies are another matter entirely! They seem to change guidelines on a weekly basis, and not in your favor.
The 3 sellers I mentioned above ALL deserved negative feedback; however, eBay would not let me leave feedback for those once the 'return a broken item' report was in. Sometime ago you had to wait several days if you wanted to leave negative or neutral FB, and even at an earlier time sellers were allowed to leave negative feedback for buyers. Now that's no longer the case, and you can only leave positives for buyers. Then there are the taxes. Some sellers charge taxes to buyers in a few selected states only, and if you live in CA consider yourself unlucky because CA is more often than not in the 'you pay taxes' list. I personally avoid any seller who wants to charge me taxes like the plague (I pay enough of those already) regardless of their 'reasoning'.
Then there are all kinds of sellers fees, which have increased exponentially over the years. You have to be careful as a seller because you could actually end up LOSING money on a sale! I am in the middle of a dispute at this moment in regards to an item I sold. The item (an external hard drive) was knocked off the table by accident and broken, so that I had to cancel the transaction - following eBay's guidelines - because the item was no longer available due to damage. The seller had not paid for the item, but he was able to leave negative feedback in revenge for me having 'wasted his time'.
He also used the same feedback to indulged in a little name-calling. I called eBay to have this negative FB removed (and YES, they CAN remove it, regardless of what BS they tell you), but they said the buyer had not violated any guidelines by leaving such insulting fb, but NEITHER DID I VIOLATE ANY GUIDELINES. They said they'd 'review' the case and call me back but never did. I will call them back tomorrow and continue trying, but if this is not turned in my favor I will terminate my association with ebay and close my account for good. Ps. Amazon Prime is your friend. ;-)

My eBay account was stolen and used by someone overseas and eBay didn't fix it. This person changed the email address after hacking into eBay system and used my account to buy expensive 3C/computer items and had them shipped to Greece. He also ordered many unpaid expensive items. The abnormal transactions should have been detected if eBay had reasonable protective mechanisms (e.g., the account owner should at least be notified/verified about changes of email/personal information) but obviously they don't have and they don't care. After I found out and called them several times, they just said they were sorry about what happened to me but there was nothing they could do to help.

We have been selling & buying on eBay for a number of years & are a 5 gold star with a 100% buyer satisfaction rating. We are not retailers & only sell items we own and carefully check every item prior to listing with photos as well as when an item is sent out to a buyer therefore do not accept returns nor do we reimburse funds as clearly stated in our listings. Recently we sold a pair of expensive E. Khanh sunglasses which were embedded with many rhinestones, none missing when sent out, however, buyer decided they didn't want them so, due to our no return policy, they intentionally damaged the glasses by knocking out several stones then, knowing they'd have a better chance of receiving reimbursement from eBay, reported the glasses as damaged & wanted full reimbursement which we refused.
Contacted eBay's Resolution Department to state our case, however, they sided entirely with the buyer as it seems that this is normal since they need buyers for their funds. Additionally, we sold a jacket, however, prior to buyer paying for them & us shipping it the buyer canceled, which we agreed to do and attempted several times to have eBay cancel but they not only did not do but took the jacket out of our listed items and charged us their fee as a sold item! We have now canceled all our remaining items for sale & will never do business with eBay again as seller or buyer. Additionally, it is very difficult to speak with a human over issues. Sad situation as the concept is appealing.

Absolutely horrible business. I'm a seller on eBay and nothing is in your favor as a seller. Now I make a $150.00 purchase and apparently it's from a highjacked account. I contacted eBay after waiting on hold several minutes and got nowhere, the customer service rep had no clue what he was doing and gave me the runaround. I then contact PayPal and they tell me my money is in limbo for 30 days... What a joke eBay's money back guarantee is. No customer purchasing on there from a hacked account should have to wait for their money back in any amount of time. As a seller I can tell you if a shirt ordered doesn't fit they dispute the purchase and funds are immediately on hold.

Other sellers give an estimated date window, but the item may not show for weeks later. And if you contact them they give you some lame excuse. I will always try and use Amazon! Does not eBay ever take responsibility for their actions? And you really have no idea what you're doing. You have cancelled three item that you say I am bidding on, rubbish. I have these and they are paid for. The sellers are happy as I am with them. My attitude is a at fault, rubbish. For 6 months I have tried to communicate with you to get the problems sorted but with your lack of communication and replies that make almost no sense as they are just your way of saying policy without looking at the problem. Now here is the truth again. All can be proved by YOUR Collected Emails addressed to me.
I had a account with you under ** and it was fully active and you were happy with the results, I had a problem with PayPal that could only be solved if I closed it down and then reopened it again as they suggested I do. To do this I closed down Buywellsell, removed all listings and even removed my email for the server. I left enough $$ in PayPal to cover your fees.
I restarted eBay and PayPal with Onlythebest1 and became a power seller and had your approval real fast as the movie were in high demand. You eBay sent me a notice that Onlythebest1 account did not get paid by PayPal, I could not login to that account as no email, so I had to ask you what it was, then have it remade by the server. Once back in I paid your account via a direct debit. YOU eBay then stated this account was now fully operational and had no restriction and I can use it again. Now the problems started having all 200 movies on both listing accounts worked for a while but became too complicated. I then asked, your EMAIL stated to the fact I can open a third account and this being a store. It was your permission to open and run 3 different accounts. The intention was to close down both the other accounts and just run a fully operational store.
I was in the process of closing these down when someone in eBay decided I was in violation of your laws. Stupidity rained, first you only allowed 10 listing in a store when your original Email suggested the normal amount for a store was possible. 10 was making a store impossible to run, so I closed that down. I then asked to have Buywellsellwellclosed down to come in line with your conditions of just one account, this never happened. Then an insulting person from eBay phoned my home and without proof suggested my legal movies were downloaded from the web and were pirate. How insulting and rude and so totally incorrect. He suggest I have time to send in a official letter from my supplier to prove my case, that was a deliberate lie. The same day he removed every listing from my accounts as pirate.
eBay should apologize. Just a series of mistakes and the lack of anyone taking direct responsibility, you can't allow me to trade on 3 accounts and then say it's against your policy, your EMAIL then are lies are they not? The next is rather funny in a way the account picturplus was set up by a Adelaide prominent Doctor that does not have the time to do anything on eBay. He is a member of the 3D club and owns every 3D movie ever made. His intentions were honorable, he listed some of his vehicles spare parts no longer wanted and the payment from these were to pay out my account onlythebest1, as he tied the sales to my account He was under the impression after reading your Emails you would let me back on, just a normal reaction from a nice Guy.
Conclusion if you go to the trouble of reading all your Emails you will see you're responsible for most of these problems as Communication is not your best feature and accusing me of being a person working against your system Total proves that point. If your eBay Emails are your voice then you should know what you type and send and therefore be responsible for any comments and direction that's written.

In my 14' years as a customer with eBay I have had an occasional issue with a seller's product not being as advertised or sub par. The sellers have ALWAYS made the sale right! But over the past year eBay seems to have been taken over by Chinese sellers setting up shipping storehouses in the States. I am currently trying to close my account due to a seemingly part time job adhering to eBay's return policies and seller requests.
A $40 pair of boots with zipper missing teeth that arrived 38 days after purchase. I contacted the seller whom needed a picture. I sent a time stamped picture of the flaw. Almost a week later they replied with an offer of 20% off the unwearable footwear. I replied 'no thank you, I would like a wearable pair of boots or a refund' and asked what the next step was. Another week later they replied with an offer of 30% off and let me know that replacing the zipper was an "easy fix" and I should do it. I replied that the product I purchased was advertised as new and I am not a seamstress... If it is so easy I do not have a problem sending them back to be repaired by them.
Almost 2 weeks later and 2 more emails they finally replied that they would ship a replacement pair from China and it may take 4-6 weeks to arrive. 9 weeks later I contacted the seller to ask where the boots were? I was also moving in 2 more weeks and asked them if the boots weren't already in transit if they needed my new address. The seller replied "yes, give us your new address" so I did. I should have contacted eBay customer service but was preparing to move. About 3 weeks in my new home I contacted the seller to ask where they are... Tracking, etc. Seller never replied to any of my next 3 messages. About 2 weeks later I contacted eBay customer service to ask them to do something.
They told me they only have a 90 window for disputes and maybe PayPal could help since it has been 4 months since initial purchase. PayPal opened a case and asked me to wait for seller's response. The seller now demanded a physical return of the boots and I was to pay shipping back to China... Once received a refund might be granted?! I called PayPal whom simply awarded me a refund due to valuing my long term patronage. Thank you PayPal!!!

They couldn't tell me over the phone what it was for. The lady said it's probably just insertion fees for pictures when I sold things through them. I cannot believe this because they always Bill my PayPal account and took the money out right away as soon as I placed any ads. I haven't sold anything in a long time through eBay and they still won't unblock my account unless I pay them for a bill that I'm not even sure that I owe.
It's kind of funny how they took so long to bring up this bill and still no notification has ever been given for this matter. They'd rather lose me as a customer than admit that they might have made an error and just dismiss the bill that is like I said 10 years old. On April 30, 2018 a buyer bought a 'used' computer motherboard I listed as such. Also within the listing, I stated no returns accepted and said that it had been working for me, but it is an electronic and you pay your money and take your chances. Nevertheless in eBay's liberal twisted rule policy, they continue to side with buyers over sellers, regardless of who is right. So they have stolen my money through PayPal to return to the customer and they are to return the non-working (why?) motherboard to me. eBay has been losing sellers for years now because of their policies and now they've lost me. I wouldn't have cared if eBay dinged me for a failed sale, as I feel that my record speaks for itself. After all, eBay guarantees their transactions, what they don't say is they guarantee it because they will turn around and steal the money back through PayPal and give it back to the buyer.
I'm very frustrated right now as most people are when they come here to complain. Yet, this isn't right and I'm trying to decide if I want to seek the services of an attorney to sue eBay. They have made so much money, which doesn't upset me; this is why anyone goes into business; they could purchase protection insurance to refund to buyers when sales fail like this. But why would they when they can just steal the money back from the seller's PayPal account? If my memory serves me here in mid 2018; PayPal and eBay were supposed to separate. If they did this, how can they access my PayPal account? Did they do this through a court order? No, they didn't. They just put their money in the register and took it. eBay will fail. You can't have a business like eBay with no sellers. I'm not speaking for everyone of course, but eventually they will fold under the weight of their own policies.
Once again, I'm considering hiring an attorney for this matter as eBay needs to pay for continually screwing sellers over buyers who aren't happy. This is akin (not the same, akin) to a woman who slept with a man willingly at the time, then the next morning, deciding it was a mistake for her and crying **. Not being satisfied with the results of your action doesn't give you the right to call it a crime against you. eBay is playing sellers just like this. I don't care how big they are, they are very, very unethical.

The seller taunted me, telling me I couldn't read. I advised her I didn't appreciate her admonishing me because I asked a simple question. After all there were hundreds of ways to respond. Hers was not appropriate. I was cursed at, mocked, threatened and harassed for over 11 emails. I stopped reading by the fourth. She continued to harass me. I contacted eBay who actually had the audacity to cite two (2) standards saying I was trying to extort the seller! I kept the product so, no extortion there. And they said I was trying not to pay when I already had. No "extortion" there either. For a company to send a ridiculous email to a buyer and support bullying, vulgarity and harassment? I closed my account and can spend my money at any one of many competitor's sites. Let the buyer beware.

Usually I don't write reviews, as I simply don't have the time, however over the past few months eBay has really gone downhill. I am so dissatisfied as to how they handle cases when an item is not received. In the past year and a half, on three separate occasions, I have ordered 3 separate items through their crooked vendors that I have failed to received.
Once it reported to eBay that you have not received your item(s), they will hold the case open for 30 days to make it seem as if they are trying to resolve the issue. However, if the seller fails to respond or if the seller fabricates and claim that they shipped the item(s) (to an undisclosed address that only lists the zip code) or if nothing is done within the 30 day time frame, they simply close your case and you are out of your hard earned money... This is very poor business practice. I am a single mom in need of every penny I earns. And even though they are priced a little less than Amazon, I prefer to pay the $2 or $3 more and get my product(s), than to be swindled and wind up losing even more money in the long haul!!!

After PayPal and eBay broke ties, I must admit it's a little difficult to get PayPal to keep the end of the deal, they keep wanting you to keep contacting seller to work things out, but they don't want you to contact the seller before you buy to make sure what you are ordering is on the up and up.

eBay CAN BE amazing, and extremely powerful, and filled with some great deals. But you have to be aware, READ and THINK. You need to pay attention to how long a seller has been on eBay, what their rating is, if there are negatives what the likelihood their negatives might affect you (your order). I've bought tons of stuff on eBay... hundreds of thousands of dollars worth. Electronics, cellular phones, computers, camera gear, audio gear, video equipment, sporting goods, boats, cars, RV's... a huge variety of things.
Over the last 20 years, I think I've had maybe 5 or 6 'bad' experiences (out of thousands). eBay really tries to protect its buyers (more than the sellers). If your communication is good, and you're describing a problem that is sincerely wrong, they will step in and help get you a 100% refund. Most (not all) purchases have 'buyer protection' - which absolutely helps you have a whole lot more security. Dealing with people that have a 99% positive feedback, and more than 100 'reviews' also helps.
I've experienced some OMG 'too good to be true' deals that honestly and really were. Like just last week, a $12,000 camera (now a few years old, but still usually selling for the $1500 range)... along with a bunch of other 'gear' (worth $2000+ more gear) for UNDER $300. Seriously, and honestly, those type of deals are extremely rare... and you really have to be in the right place at the right time. Patient and watching. (I've been on the lookout for that particular make & model of camera for over 2 years - checking the listings ever so often, usually a few times a month).
It was an older guy that was filming his music at home, that was just tired of lugging the gear around. Tried trading it in on a smaller model, but was told it didn't have the trade in value he expected (since he just bought it new a few years ago, lightly used it, and it was in perfect working order). So, he decided to sell it for THE SHIPPING COST to someone that wanted to get an awesome older model full HD interchangeable lens camera. We've since talked on the phone, and I've helped him with a few things since he gave me such an incredible deal.
But even before, I would have recommended eBay... to anyone that PAYS CLOSE ATTENTION, and bothers to THINK (read the descriptions, consider the reviews and feedback rating). And don't gamble your rent or living expenses on eBay stuff. There are some awesome deals, but there are a bunch of expensive scams also. BUYER BEWARE!

I can return the item but might get hit with a 20% restocking fee. It was fraud and eBay sides with the seller. No more eBay for me, if you haven't been taken yet you will be if you keep using that site. Amazon at least protects the buyer.

I made a purchase via eBay, but I forgot to put my apartment number on the shipping address. The item got returned back to the seller and the seller being contacted to reship the item back. The seller requested reshipping cost and the cost was made. Then, the resolution center being contacted and asked to email the seller. I doubt it the eBay resolution center associate emailed the seller. After that the seller did not respond back to me. My whole experience with eBay service will get a rate of zero. Zero customer service and are not capable of handling issues or becoming a mediator between the seller and buyer. Poor customer service. I do not recommend to anyone to use eBay.

The seller's email no longer works. eBay seems to be partnered with this seller to take my money. So how many others are being done this way? Below is the email quote from the seller to me and they never refunded me and eBay says that does not matter that the seller said they would refund me, eBay says the seller does not have to refund me. "Well soon you will receive a full refund of your money. Not worry. Thank you I'm very sorry for what happened." I have purchased many thing from eBay in the past few years. Usually everything goes well. Items shipped in few days after payment, delivered as expected. But when something goes wrong it can be really frustrating. Sellers offer you replacement for item you haven't received which in my opinion shouldn't be doing. Because sellers says they send you a replacement and ask you to close a case you have opened. And poof... after that they disappear. After some time you realize that there was no replacement. And you can't do anything because case is already closed. And there is no one you can ask for help. Do not accept any replacement, if something goes wrong just say you want your money back.

eBay has become a shadow of its old self. I have been an eBay seller and buyer or over 10 years and they have come a nickel and dime your company with little to none of a service dept. And they let lying buyers control how they run their operation and all waysides with the seller when there is a seller buyer dispute when there is a issue and they try to avoid getting involved and make it very hard for the buyer to get some help from them when basically is being ripped off by the buyer with that Brig said, “They just don't care."
Their feedback program is the biggest joke in the online retail industry which allows buyers to leave any kind of negative feedback they wish to leave on the buying experience but the seller cannot do the same to the eBay con artist that are invading their site help. You are not allowed to leave negative feedback on eBay buyers to warn other sellers of their intentions before selling to them which is shameful. Their fee rates are getting ridiculous and they sneak in increases and other fees at every opportunity they get. Also they make navigating their site extremely difficult (on purpose in my opinion) to navigate so that costly mistakes can be made by the account holder which in turn eBay can steal more money from them.
I soon will be cancelling my eBay account and their partner in crime PayPal too and will not purchase another item from them in the future (too many other better options) and advise anyone looking to open an honest internet business online to look at all the other options available to you I.e. Tophatter, Amazon etc before you ever considering opening an account with eBay because you will regret it to no end. In closing eBay is becoming a dinosaur in the industry and fallen out of favor with millions of people who admired the site when it was launched but I will say this I will be happy when the end is here for eBay because the way they do business now all but guarantees it will be sooner rather than later.

Everything I am about to say is 100% true. This nothing to do with the vendor, just eBay. I have been an eBay customer for 19 years and have purchased over 600 items. Today I bought something and attempted to pay for it with gift cards. That did not work so I called customer service and got the runaround. I got referred back and forth between eBay and PayPal several times and talked to 8 people in about 2 hours. Apparently my eBay-issued gift cards cannot be used for my eBay purchase. What? Then why is there a place on the payment page to enter the gift card info to pay?
So because I could not use my gift cards, I requested to exchange them for cash. That is not allowed. Does that sound like fraud? I was told that customer service is important, but apparently not. I could go on and on about how unhelpful all parties concerned were, but that could take all day. I have always paid for my purchases promptly and will do that again with this purchase. Just not with gift cards for which eBay has already received their money but are unwilling to honor their obligation. Looks like eBay has lost me as a customer. Their loss.

Even a small change throws us off completely and may require hours and hours of clicking this then that or worse yet finally have to contact a help personnel who usually has such an accent that we can't understand a word they are saying or more commonly it's a female with such a high squeaky pitch to her voice that it sounds like a cat whining on the other end of our phone.
With these problem it just compounds the efforts we have to go through to relearn how to get the information we need. Once more my payment is on hold and after 5 phone calls, a guy named Dane, in their San Jose location could not answer me when I asked why my payments are being held for up to 21 days? I have been a buyer and seller on eBay for almost 16 years now and have never had an issue with a seller or buyer until just recently when I sold a prepaid Samsung phone to a buyer. The buyer claimed that he couldn't activate the phone and that the item wasn't as described so he could get a refund. I had indicated that I don't accept returns on new items, but in good faith, went ahead and initiated the return anyway. I received the phone back a few days later. The blister pack had been visibly broken into, the buyer wrote on the IMEI card, and he had peeled most of the protective plastic the phone came in completely off and did not replace it. I then tried to see if I could activate the phone myself, which I was able to do after chatting with a TracFone representative online.
Because I was not happy with the condition the buyer sent the phone back in as I could no longer sell it as a new item, and I also now had the suspicion that he likely returned it because he changed his mind, not because it wasn't as described, I opened up a case against the buyer. In my case, I sent photos and documentation to prove that the phone had been activated and that at the very least I should get a refund on the shipping. Ebay ruled in the buyer's favor and stole the entire payment, including shipping, from my PayPal account.
I didn't mind paying for the return on the phone and I was willing to do that - all I wanted was to keep the shipping since if I was able to activate the phone, the buyer should have as well. But the fact that no one at eBay even bothered to look at my documentation basically says that they do not care about sellers at all and that the buyer is always right, all of the time, no matter what. The buyer also had zero feedback - he created the account the same day he bought the phone from me which eBay also refused to take into account. I have 100% positive feedback. That did not matter either.
Ebay offers no seller protection no matter what they claim on their website. It's a good thing the item I sold wasn't several hundred or several thousand dollars, but $46.00 is not something to sneeze at by any means. If you are going to sell on eBay, be very careful, because if you have any issue with a buyer, there is no recourse you can take whatsoever if the buyer tries to scam or deceive you.

There are two overseas sellers on eBay that have been engaging in unscrupulous practices. They are engaging in the bait and switch. They send you a product they KNOW IS NOT AS IT IS DESCRIBED. When you contact them to let them know you want a refund they ask you to send photos. You send photos then they say we will take $5 and you keep it. No persist for refund. Then they want you to pay to send it back to them track it. Or they say, "We will send you the right item but it will take 5 to 35 days." So you are past eBay's 30 day refund policy so they don't have to give you a refund. And keep your money and you don't have the item either.

I sold an item for the price of $93.00 and was ecstatic to receive this for the item I had sold. In the past I had no issue with the buyer automatically paying when they win the bid. The whole point of using a company like this is so that you don't have to worry about receiving payment for your item. Payment should be automatic and paid towards the seller once they ship - which is what I thought eBay does. WRONG. You can ship without the company being paid to pay you! And guess what happens then if you don't get your payment - they credit you only 10% of your selling price so $9.30 - which is less than I even paid for a shipping label!
Even when I went through the buying process to see if the $9.30 would apply as credit it did not. I have been on the phone with the company 4 times over the past month to resolve this issue - half of the people I talked to seemed to have no idea what was going on or why I was upset - and I have finally realized they will do nothing for me to keep me as a customer. I am very upset with how they run their business and with this policy they are sure to fail in the near future. I discourage anyone from using eBay. As a longtime eBayer with 100% feedback rating both as a Buyer and a Seller I can honestly say I expected much more from eBay. Like many other sellers I finally had that transaction that infuriated me to the point where I will no longer EVER deal with them again, in either capacity. I recently sold some Desktop memory that was in near new condition. I had been using the memory in my own machine up until the time of the eBay sale. Once the sale was made, I removed the memory from my desktop and replaced it with the newer/faster memory I had just purchased from eBay, packaged the Memory sold into the original packaging and sent it off to the buyer.
Upon receiving the memory, the buyer proceeded to insert it into an motherboard that listed the memory he purchased as incompatible which in turn fried my memory. The buyer then opened a return request in which it was stated that it "Didn't work or was defective" and also stated that the memory didn't work with their hardware. By the way, the listing stated that the buyer was responsible to make sure the memory was compatible and that no returns were not offered. I called eBay and explained what had transpired and that the board used would damage the memory and eBay said the buyer will receive their money-back no matter what and that my only option was to open a dispute after the fact.
eBay then proceeded to basically shut-down my PayPal account by freezing the funds and THEN expected me to issue a refund on top of the frozen account. To which I replied, "Go to Hell" and shut everything down, including access to my bank. Needless to say, I would never deal with a business that is so one-sided in its decision making. I've heard about how unfairly eBay can treat Sellers in the past but until now I could not believe what I was reading. Sellers, unless you are a large business that can absorb the arbitrary losses sometimes imposed by eBay, find another platform and stay very far away from eBay. I'm not even a company so I can't even write-off this loss. I just out the memory and the money spent and the worst part, they will not refund any of the fees they charge. Lesson learned and the hard way I might add.

I am selling stuff on eBay for years, I started selling my kids clothes then turned to business 3 years ago. I was sold a brand new top to buyer last week, buyer received, tried on and said that the top was too tight, so wanted to return it. I said, "Yes! Please read our return policy prior ship it back." Once I received the return item back, it was not the same as original. Buyer tore the bag of the top which was new in bag and never take out of bag. (This item is value if new in the bag) I expected buyers to opened the bag carefully in case they need to return it. Then I asked eBay to step in for this case which was opened by buyer for returning the item, once stepped in, it turned out I am the one who filed the case. I didn’t want to open the case, but that the only choice I had to do with the current case which opened by buyer, my bad I didn’t have this experience before, I should just send buyer a message instead.
So today seller closed my case at buyer favor even the bag of the top was tore. This item have a nice bag (package). eBay didn’t try to help anything. They said it’s their policy! So I had to relisted this item as tried on once without the bag and reduced the price. So I paid for buyer to try on my item and she sent back? Received it in different condition, resell at cheaper! I got a bad seller performance because eBay decided at buyer favored. Totally lost! So, my advise for sellers, please do not ask them to step in, talk to buyers first even they are not so nice! I hate to talk to them. Thought I can communicate over the case which opened by buyer. I don’t mind at all if the item have been taken out of the bag and tried on. All I wanted is the bag is not damage, so I can resell again at the same price.
Soon, top rate sellers who wanted to get a 10% discount of final value fee must offer a free return within 30-60 days! It’s really unfair! eBay doesn’t care about sellers, even seller help them to make money. What if tons of buyers out there are not serious in buying, what if they keep return the items? They do not to worry about eBay will records how many they do return, they can create a new account as many as they wanted.

At some point someone got into my account and began posting fake handbags. I didn't know until I left work and saw the emails from ebay. Where I worked, the signal was horrible, so I didn't get any email notifications until I left the building. I immediately called eBay when I saw the last email saying my account was restricted. I explained to them I was at work during this time, etc. I also asked why didn't they try to call me instead of restricting me. Looking through my seller history, they'd obviously see this was not the norm as the items I've sold do not reflect that of a person who sells fake handbags. They would not budge. I've sent letters and no responses.
6 years later (today), I call after attempting to see if I'd be able to list an item and seeing it still being restricted, I explain to the representative what took place years prior. The representative said she could not access the account back that far to see what happened or to help me appeal the restriction. So if you can't access the information to see what happened, why am I still restricted? Completely unfair. I've also noticed that if you're a seller and log on to eBay from any computer connected to an IP address that has been logged in by someone who has been suspended or restricted, they will suspend or restrict you too. So, if you log in on any of your job computers, public computers at the library, Starbucks, etc. and someone who has been restricted or suspended has ever used any of those computers, you will be affected also. It's unbelievable.

Here is my experience with eBay. Read this. It will blow you away. 3-14-2018 I was trying to contact the buyer again and accidently clicked continue and to my surprise it shows I had agreed to accept the return. I did not want to accept this return. The page did not allow me to cancel it so I immediately called eBay on 3-14-2018 7:45 am duration 4:16 and requested the return be canceled. C/S stated they could not cancel it but can instead open a case to resolve this issue and that EBAY WOULD EMAIL BUYER AND IF NO RESPONSE THEY CANCEL REQUEST THE REQUEST TO RETURN ITEM.
This mistake was made because when you get to this reply page you have a box with 4 choices. Each with a round checkbox to check depending on your response and the default checked box is that you agree to the return. This needs to be changed as it is very easy to accept the default choice of accepting the return. Here is the record of the mistake: Mar 14 You approved the request. Mar 14 You sent a return shipping label. NOTE: (I did not send a return label) I wanted written proof of the mistake I made when trying to contact buyer again).
Mar 15 eBay opened a case on your behalf. Case was opened next day 3-15-2018. OPENED CASE TO DENY MISTAKE RETURN. 3-14-2018. 1st call talked to Chris. 3-14-2018 Stated she could not remove return request mistake but would instead open a case. She also stated she would email buyer and if no response they will cancel request. (Note: don't believe this as it is not true.) They did not email the buyer at all. 3-15-2018 Received email from eBay at 7:29am stating case was opened. At 7:31am another email from eBay and eBay determines in favor of buyer and has the buyer to return item and pay for shipping back to me. 3-15 2018 AFTER I OPENED REQUEST TO DENY RETURN ON 3-14-2018 I RECEIVED EMAIL marked at 7:29.
Please note that the email never really says it was in favor of seller and that buyer did not respond or return item. It just says request closed and that PayPal hold has been removed. Does not state what happens to refund so I had to call and verify. eBay rep states the CASE WAS CLOSED DUE TO BUYER DID NOT RETURN ITEM. I do have a recording of the conversation if you would like it. She also stated she could not send me written verification. How is it they can show all email between the seller, buyer and eBay but cannot send you a confirmation of the final decision of dispute. So here we are: eBay has taken the money from my PayPal account and refunded the buyer after the case was closed due to default by the buyer and completely ignored the policy as set forth by themselves. During the course of the case I had contacted eBay 4 times and each time I get a different story.

I did an BBB report & Ebay removed my rating of the seller & also themselves, leaving the seller w/ 0 bad reviews that I could see from my end. Along the way, 2 Ebay reps even boldly lied about their ID #s!

So they cancelled my refund and I'm left here the defective screen. Amazon are much better than eBay and can be trusted unlike eBay. They never ask you a single reason for the return. I have spent hours on hold and dealing with people that know nothing except denying culpability for it, and basically told "tough luck". Finally got a call back from supervisor about 18 hours later, and given same lame excuses. I will only buy from them again if I can not find anywhere else. Will buy from Amazon from now on, which is usually cheaper, even with tax. Only thing I do not like about Amazon is you have no idea where it will ship from. That is the only plus about eBay, but if I do not need urgently, screw eBay from now on.

As a very honest Seller with 100% positive feedback (combined from selling and buying), I would have expected eBay to stand behind me when I sold an new, unworn item, with tags still attached, clearly stated as a FINAL sale on my listing when the Buyer claimed it arrived damaged. The Buyer never responded to my emails asking what the damages were or provided photos or any evidence to back up their claim of damages. The Buyer also had 0 feedback and had joined eBay two days prior to buying my item.
It took me 30 minutes to get in touch with an eBay supervisor. You are always connected to a customer service department offshore. You will spin your wheels speaking to various agents and getting different answers from everyone you talk with, including the supervisors. Some are better than others but none of them are good or from the United States.
Because the Buyer didn't respond to my emails - it's an eBay option to email the Buyer when they are requesting a return - I was most recently told that I now needed to CALL the Buyer. I googled the Buyer's name and discovered they have a "criminal" record. I'm not sure what that means exactly but I have no interest in phoning them when they haven't responded to my emails. It's bad enough that they have my name and address. In a nutshell, this hasn't been resolved and until it is, I am not getting paid. If you are interested in selling on eBay, I promise you that eventually you will be sorry that you did.

I sold an expensive Swiss watch in early February. Even though the buyer knew about and had received photos of a 1 mm scratch on the 18 karat gold case, he demanded a refund for damaged goods. I accepted to refund him the money and the bad started right afterwards. He decided to file a claim with PayPal after I refunded him the money (once the watch was returned). Because of his claim with PayPal, eBay told me they could and so far have, refuse my seller fee refund of $750. I find this to be a very unfair practice on their part. It appears that if you, as a seller, accept a refund, the buyer can screw you over by filing a claim with PayPal afterwards so you don’t get your seller fee back. Can you imagine what those fees could be on some of the $30,000+ items selling on eBay. I say seller beware. You too could get that buyer from Hong Kong who knows how to make you pay when you have played by the rules. eBay needs to relook at this policy.

We waited a week (and tried calling the twice more but they didn’t answer). Despite their boast of "get what you paid for or your money back" it's still possible to get ripped off on eBay! I bought a batch of vintage items from the seller eombayacct based in NYC who deals in antiques. Two items arrived broken. I sent the seller clear photos of the damaged items. In my message I stated that as the other items in the lot were fine and I preferred to keep them (rather than return the entire batch) I would happily settle for a partial refund for the two damaged ones. That way I would be compensated for my loss and the seller would still have some profit. A WIN/WIN situation.
I waited over a week for the seller to respond and they only did so after I involved eBay. I would have been happy to settle informally as involving eBay can involve a “defect” for the seller. Seller dug in their heels and gave me the choice of accepting the items AS IS (so with a loss) or returning the entire batch for a full refund. She said she was "unable to do partial refunds". I pointed out that if the refund was done via Paypal this would provide her with a receipt which she could then use to write off the loss against tax as a business expense. I was told she "could not do" this. Perhaps the seller was not registered with the IRS for tax purposes!
When you already have an unhappy buyer an experienced and professional seller will work with them to achieve a resolution which gives some satisfaction to both parties. Asking a disgruntled buyer to take the trouble of packing up disappointing items, taking them to the post office etc is adding insult to injury. There are many buyers who would have returned the batch insecurely packed, so that the seller received a box of broken and unsellable items. Typically Paypal and eBay do not care about the state in which such items are received. They will refund the buyer as soon as the tracking shows the package as "delivered". However I am an honest person so I decided to keep the undamaged items and bear the financial loss of the damaged ones. However I am entitled to voice my opinion of this transaction in order to warn others.

In my last report on my own horrible eBay experience I said that we will never know who came first. The bad seller or the bad buyer. Well the answer is neither. eBay came first. And it’s eBay who is responsible for finding solutions to find and remove the scumbags of eBay. But they are not even trying. And let’s be honest there is 0 and I mean ZERO seller protection from eBay for eBay sellers like myself. Scumbags who lie cheat and steal are free to buy items and then turn around and abuse the eBay buyer protection/return policy. These bad buyers victimize eBay sellers on a daily basis and what does eBay do to prevent this from happening? The answer is NOTHING!
Let me tell you that I sold a signed Val St. Lambert cut to clear vase to one of these scumbags and I just can’t believe this happened. I’m not 100% sure if it was the day that the vase was delivered or the day after but I received a message that said "the vase arrived broken. I assume it is insured". So immediately I started stressing out because I knew this person was up to something shady. I asked her to send photos of the vase, including the bottom of the vase and also of the box. After I sent the message I called eBay and told them that I was sure she was going to scam me and the reason for my call was to provide information on the identification of the vase I sold.
I told them that she had not replied and that if it turned out it was the vase I sold then they would know and I would be fine taking responsibility but that I really felt like something was wrong because I package so well that sometimes I think to myself that I overdo it and could be spending less on packing materials and my feedback backs up the fact that I pack very well. So I got off the phone with eBay and a little while later I got three of the same photo of what looked like the vase I sold. I still felt like something was wrong and the damage to the vase made me wonder how badly the box was damaged so again I asked for photos of the bottom of the vase and pictures of the box the vase arrived in. The next message I received basically said, “I don’t know how to scam because I am older”.
The packing was good and the box is fine. There was still no photo of the box but she said she couldn’t get the photos to load but she would mail me photos of the box. (Remember she did upload one photo three times earlier) so I started getting upset after reading her message that said the packing was good and the box was fine and not damaged. I was actually very angry because I knew and still know that there is no way that the vase was broken like the photo showed it was broken. Reason number one being the box was fine with no signs of damage or trauma. The buyer made that clear in a message. Reason number two I packed very well. Using bubble wrap and then foam wrap and then newspaper crumpled up to fill in what the wrapped vase left void.
Reason number three is that the vase in question is almost a quarter of an inch thick. Which takes us back to reason one. The vase was broken so badly that there is no way that the outside of the box would be fine. The impact or pressure needed to cause the damage would be shown on the box itself. The box would not be fine. And I asked if he or she could please explain how it was physically possible that the vase be damaged so badly when in her words the vase was wrapped well and in a box that is not damaged and shows no signs of trauma. Then she messaged me that she never said it was packed well that in fact it was not packed well. At this point I knew that my feeling of this buyer being a scumbag was right on and I sent her a screenshot of her message saying the it was packed well and told her, “When you tell the truth you don’t have to remember what you said before” and I let her know what kind of people lie and steal.
And I asked if that was her character and reminded her that she was choosing to be of low character. Getting back to eBay seller protection. The first representative I spoke to I’m going to pass because at the time I felt like I was providing information that would help the case close honestly either way. The second time I called because the buyer sent evidence that showed she was not being honest and I felt like eBay would look at what the buyer said and look at the photos of the vase and not allow this buyer to scam me. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the supervisor told me that he agreed with me that what she said and what she showed didn’t add up but that what I needed to do was accept the return then fight the return. This supervisor sounded like he agreed and I would be protected but first I needed to accept the return so I could escalate the case.
That call ended and I felt better because he could see what she said and showed didn’t make sense but I was confused about him saying I need to accept the return. It didn’t and still doesn’t make sense to me so I didn’t accept it. Then I got the message I mentioned that my response was a screenshot of her previous message. My third call was because she had just contradicted herself in a major way that eBay could see and read and know that this buyer was a lying scumbag that was scamming me. So my last call to eBay about this case went nothing like I thought it would. The supervisor was rude and didn’t care that the buyer not only sent photos that do not make sense and didn’t care that the buyer couldn’t keep his or her story straight. The supervisor made it clear that if the buyer wants to return for any reason that they can do that and what they say and the photos they send do not matter.
That the buyer is protected by buyer protection. At which time I told her that I read an article that said that eBay representatives are now relying on photographic evidence when deciding on a case. I told her I have screenshot of what I read and I said I couldn’t believe what was happening that the fact that the buyer made it clear they are scamming me and eBay wouldn’t take the photos and story not adding up into consideration or the fact that the buyer changed their story in a huge way. I was just like wtf. I didn’t do anything in regard to the case for two days. All I did was think about how much I used to enjoy selling on eBay and stress because I was being robbed and eBay did care.
In fact I realized the reps were not being honest and that they can’t even use common sense to aid in the decision of a case. I received no seller protection not even when the photographic evidence and buyers own words didn’t add up and not even when he or she contradicted himself or herself...itself would be more appropriate for the scumbag that stonehurst2 is. I was getting sick and didn’t want to feel any more of the stress eBay caused me by not protecting me and allowing someone to steal from me. So I decided to refund the scumbag STONEHURST2 who lives in Texas and just let everyone know that this buyer is one to avoid. This person is a lying scumbag scammer who is definitely taking advantage of eBay’s return policy. I’m sure some of you are wondering why the heck I refunded this person. There are several reasons but the biggest reason was the way I felt about how eBay was handling the situation.
I was so stressed and disappointed about how the case was being handled and I lost faith that eBay would look at the evidence and I would be protected as a seller. $40 wasn’t and still isn’t worth the negative energy that I was feeling. I really lost faith in eBay. People might think it’s weird but eBay was something I enjoyed so much. I am an introvert. I don’t have many friends and I am lonely a lot which is probably what caused me to message customers the way I do... someone buys from me and I respond right away with a message saying thanks and letting them know when I will send the package and when the person is anywhere that I would like to go or anywhere I have been I would start a conversation. There are people I never met that I will never forget and I thought of them as friends.
Customer friends that I spoke to via eBay messaging. For instance seeing that I’m sending a package to Tennessee I would message and tell them hi and that I am taking their package to the post office first thing tomorrow that I wish I would be on my way to Tennessee tomorrow...that I love and want to move to Chattanooga and blah blah blah. I must be more lonely than I ever realized. I’m a little embarrassed but it is true and it is why I really love selling on eBay. It isn’t so fun being stressed out about eBay enabling shady people and losing money to these liar scumbags.
I have an idea for eBay to weed out the bad buyers and bad sellers. Employ people who sell and who buy on eBay. Random buys from sellers with high complaints or something. My idea in whole is a good idea and it would make a huge difference. Another thing is that people who decide on cases should be able to use their common sense not just a written policy that is so one sided in favor of the buyer.

Can anybody relate to the experience I am having with eBay at the moment. Are we the only dissatisfied seller to have experienced a sudden drop in sales for no apparent reason. We have contacted eBay countless times asking why this is constantly happening to us. We have tried to build our business up using eBay as a business seller as this is the only option we have at the moment. We started to have a little bit of success by selling items every day for about a month then all of a sudden it takes a nose dive for no reason at all. This is the second time this has happened to us as we had to close our shop the first time around. We restarted a second time with no shop and our sales were better than when we had a shop which eBay suggested would enhance our sales. NOT! They also are very unfair to their sellers, especially small sellers. It seems if you are a large player in this market their policies are far more attainable than for us smaller sellers in the game.
Not only do they show themselves as fair and responsible by providing a so called resolution centre which I may point out is a resolution centre for the customer only, they do not resolve anything for the seller what so ever! They take it upon themselves to refund the customer without your consent, they don't even warn you that they are going to do this! They also don't take into consideration that Royal Mail offer proof of postage which is traceable FACT! It is in black and white on Royal Mail's website! So here's the thing - eBay favours sellers that offer tracked postage! That's great for the customer especially when the larger sellers in the market can absorb the cost and offer the customer free postage!!! What about the smaller seller??? Oh eBay like to promote the fact that they can help you grow your business with their one size fits all policies. The problem is we are not all larger sellers who use eBay as another source to promote their products.
How about introducing a lower percentage fee for smaller sellers to help them to build their businesses? They can easily set a selling threshold or limit which would kick in once you have achieved a certain selling point. If anybody can recommend SOMEBODY OR SOMEWHERE that would listen to the grievances we have along with countless other small sellers on eBay I would welcome a response. We have taken it upon ourselves to record the calls that we have made to eBay which we have made them aware of. Is there anybody out there who can reinforce our grievances, surely there must be something that can be done about this!!! Many voices have more power than one.

I paid off my seller's account a few days ago, because I am not happy with eBay & their forever changing policies. eBay wouldn’t allow me to close my account because I am supposed to be suspended. I would think they would glad to get rid of this A-Seller, if I was that bad. I haven’t seen any notification of any dispute & seriously tried to end this business transaction the right way, but they have left me no choice. Either they make their dispute available or close my account. I have no intention of dealing with a company who allows shady business dealings to go unchecked.
I chose to leave them because I realized I am better off selling my merchandise at flea markets, versus paying & shipping items to unknown people, who most are decent & honest & some are thieves & liars. As a buyer and seller, I see how it works and I am known for refunding Merchandise to any customer who buy from me if they are not satisfied with my product. But when you sell a item that is in great shape to someone and they request a refund from eBay because item is broken or has a hole in it, and you know it isn’t true, you will rethink whether selling on eBay is a good fit. It happened to me twice and I lost Merchandise & money. I didn’t argue it, I promptly refunded item, noted name and region for my personal records.
I removed my most valuable items off eBay and after careful consideration decided eBay is not for me. So I have nothing listed on eBay for weeks now. I have a zero balance, unlinked my eBay account from PayPal. Went to close my account and was denied because of a dispute according to a email I got from PayPal. I would kindly like to know what that dispute is and I would like my account closed. I don’t like people with shabby business practices having my personal information, so I am going to send some things to my State's Attorney General's Office to monitor till resolved. No way I would recommend eBay.

Not only did she literally tell me that it’s not eBay's problem and that I needed to figure it out for myself, but told me that eBay won’t change my address on file to the correct address. WTH??? So you’re going to just continue to send items to the wrong address should I purchase again. She told me that I should have been more careful when inputting my address and double check things. (I forgot to add my apt number, I’m brand new to this state and had not even moved in yet). She was absolutely horrible and was unwilling to help me aside from telling me to contact the seller myself and that basically it’s my own fault.
She shouldn’t be in customer service. Period. I normally use Amazon but was willing to give eBay a try. Yeah, never again. Their money back guarantee and promise to customer service is complete **. I have never written a review in my life, but here I am 30 dollars less than I was, with no items to show for, nor will I receive my items because she told me that I can contact them myself, but probably won’t receive it, and that’s not Amazon’s fault, that’s my own. Therefore I felt the need to write one based on her horrible customer service. If you can avoid this company. I would.

I recently made a transaction through a seller called allthat2015, for a fourth generation as advertised new tablet. I received the tablet at $219 and it was not new. It was used in very good condition from the outside but with this tablet you could no longer make an Apple ID. You could not make purchases. You couldn't even download free apps. There was really not a whole lot you could do with this tablet.
I contacted the seller to return it. He said that I could return it for a full refund but I did everything is a star returned it with more than the time allowed. I then only received a partial refund when I contacted the dealer. He claimed that there was a restocking fee which I was never advised about or told anything. I would have kept the tablet and giving it to my grandson if that was the case but once I contacted them again about it they pretty much blew me off so I left a negative review stating the fact that I'm stating to you. Then eBay team supposedly stepped in and said if I would remove the negative review that I would receive my $44.99 different from the price that I paid which was so-called their restock fee. So I agree to the terms and I remove the review and then I never received the refund.
When I inquired about the refund I was told that they change their mind and they still weren't going to give it to me so I called them up and spoke to them the following morning about this and was told that they didn't care, that that was my fault and I said, "Sir I have all the emails. I have everything that y'all said you promised me in your email that I would get my money back" and he said, "Well you're not. Get over it." Therefore when I asked to have the case appealed he does, "I am the appeal and you have no case." When I went back to try to leave a review I was blocked out from leaving any reviews whatsoever. I never received the money and I do have all the emails to prove everything that I am saying.

I have been on eBay as a buyer for 18 years and never needed to use their resolution center. Any time there I had problems, I was able to resolve them directly with the sellers. Today I called eBay for help and spoke with a resolution specialist Keshia, and her supervisor Vince, and both were completely unhelpful and basically just told me they don't care and it's my problem if I lose my $40.00. Horrible customer service, and there is no money back guarantee at all! They just couldn’t care less about their 18 year long customers. And I live on an island so basically all my shopping is online, either on eBay or Amazon. This is what happened: I bought labels for my printer (2 packs of 50 labels $20 each, for a total of $40). It turns out the labels were for a laser printer and I own a inkjet printer, so I started a return, which was easy and fast.
I printed the label provided, and included a return slip inside the envelope, and gave the envelope to the mailman when he came to deliver my mail. Today I checked the tracking number, because it was supposed to have already been delivered to the seller. It turns out that there is no updates from the postal service. They never scanned the tracking label. So there is no way to find out if it was delivered or not. I called the postal office and they told me that the package had not been scanned and there was no way to know where it could be. It could be lost, or it could have been delivered, or it could be in transit. They told me that sometimes these labels provided by the retailers have errors and do not scan with the USPS equipment, so in that case there could be no updates. Another possibility is that the package could be lost, and only eBay could collect the value insured for that label.
So I called eBay and asked them, if the package was lost, what do I need to do to get my refund. They basically told me that they need proof that I didn't keep the stuff. I was so insulted. This is the first time I called them with such problem, and does he seriously think that I would go through all this trouble, filing a claim with the postal office, calling them, talking with three different people, including the supervisor, just so I could keep the labels for free? Seriously!I honestly can tell at this point, I don't care if I lose $40 with this, but one thing I have learned, eBay will not have your back if something like this happens. If it was Amazon, they would just issue the refund and no questions asked. They make billions and billions and have insurance with their carriers, that cover lost packages, so to not take care of their loyal customers that have shopped on eBay for so many years and never once had filed a claim before.
Unbelievable. I am extremely disappointed with the greediness of this company, and the horrible training their Resolution specialist have. They don't really do anything for you. They say if the tracking number did not update, I cannot prove that the item has been delivered to the seller or that I even shipped it. It’s a way of calling you a liar and a thief. So now my last option is to call my credit card and dispute the charge, but eBay will not agree and my credit card will just take the loss, and refund me. Like we all have heard before: a good company is not the one when everything works well with no problems. When you see the difference between a good company and a bad company, it's precisely when we have a problem. The way they are willing to help you, that's when you can tell, this company is awesome.
I will say that about Amazon, which is the most amazing customer service. But eBay, after 18 years I called them for the first time with a problem, and they let me down. We're on our own as buyers, if something like this happens to you, you're out of your money. There is absolutely No money back guarantee like they say. It’s a lie. Will continue to shop on Amazon, and will close my account with eBay once I receive the last items ordered that haven’t arrived yet. I lose $40 but they lose an excellent customer that spent thousands of dollars on their site. They want to make a lot of profit, without investing in good customer service. They don’t deserve my business. Greedy.

List a nice item with some flaws, well described with also stated "no returns accepted" and "ask any question". The item was made of paper and had some light greasy stuff on it. ** buyer does not read description, asks no question, gets the item, only then starts to pay attention and finds the flaws as mentioned. Claims however that flaws were not mentioned and lies about the stuff as described in calling it "glue". Despite all this, the ebay freaks refund him and want me to pay for it. As I am NOT going to pay for an item that I described well, I am now forced to close my ebay account after 19 flawless years! EBAY ARE CROOKS AND MORONS!!

Hi. Please don't sell in eBay, You will get a monthly invoice of 10% deduction on your selling price and shipping on FedEx is a joke. You might think it's a 10$ but you will get a invoice for 20$. If you sell an item for 100$ with 20$ profit - you need to pay eBay 10%+shipping+Paypal transaction money fees + they will keep your money for 5 working days - finally you won't get anything.

No refund for selling fees if returned - If the buyer wants to return the item and the seller doesn't agree (advised no returns), eBay will step in and decide for the buyer. They do this to keep all the fees associated with the transaction. Thus in my case, I sold an item that gave eBay $55 in fees, the buyer wanted to return and since the situation was escalated to the resolution center, they decide in the buyer favor and then get to keep the fees. They stipulate if there is any problem with the transaction and if the buyer and seller asks for 3rd party decision, refund of fees are never given regardless if the seller has to refund the item. Perfect for them, seller loses out, even if they clearly state no returns in listing. If you are a buyer, then you can get away with anything.

Set up my eBay buyer account to sell two items. Listed them trying to avoid any costly extras they suggested through the process. The items were on list for 7 days, failed to sell and I thought my selling affairs are over. Today I got a welcome mail from eBay followed by an invoice of 61 USD for what they called "Advanced listing upgrade fees". I did not recall choosing advanced listing, asking for it or receiving any "advanced" service. Tried to use their help system, impossible mission. Tried to cancel my seller account, not real option.
Tried personal contact to receive a "not today answer". Made a search of complaints on eBay to find many links dealing with the subject. After reading a hour of complains, I am totally convinced that the affair above was my only and last selling affair with them. All I ask You people, why to use their site when they misconduct so many people. Hey, the only way [if there is a way] to change mega companies like eBay is avoid using their platform. I call each of You to do that and use less greedy sites You can get the very same services.

I don't know what country their resolution center is located, but it is NOT in the United States! TWO PURCHASES IS NOT BEING TAKEN CARE OF. One I cannot print out a return shipping label, so the resolution people did not listen and now the problem is sitting and claims I did not deal with the seller? The other is broken bowls that a stupid seller failed to pack properly and the four bowls were sitting on top of each other and the bubble wrap was all around the bowls, but NOT IN BETWEEN THE BOWLS??? I never had a problem getting my money refunded, but NOW this DEPARTMENT IS RUN BY IDIOTS! They don't understand what I'm saying so now I will call my credit card companies to take care of these RIDICULOUS PROBLEMS!
I gave BOTH LOUSY SELLERS NEGATIVES which they more than deserved! I have no idea how to put photos online which eBay personnel told me I didn't have to??? My word is CRAP and I've bought so many items off of eBay and don't ask for REFUNDS that often. Last time was way over a year ago when a seller did not wrap up a beautiful floral arrangement and the colorful pot was in many pieces that made the beautiful floral arrangement look like garbage! Got my money back. NOW eBay personnel are lame, foreign and pathetic at taking care of anyone!

I paid immediately $200 on 2/23/2018 (ATM card) for a blanket that I never received. EBay told me that they wouldn't refund my money until 3/7/2018. I feel that this is a highly fraudulent business policy/practice, so I would never use EBay again. I spent two entire days trying to contact USPS regarding tracking and an EBay seller who told me I must pay shipping to re-deliver (even though EBay said shipping was free). The experience was an absolute nightmare. How many millions of customers is EBay literally stealing money from for 16 days (with no product received) without customer consent whatsoever?

As a seller on eBay it was the worst experience ever! Our items were listed with accuracy and full disclosure in the descriptions of what the customer was purchasing. As long as the customer know exactly what they are purchasing there should have never been an issue! However, eBay pulled our items not allowing us contact with the buyers to finish our transactions. Causing countless problems with refunding and lost merchandise cost! I would never sell on this again and if I had known how horrible their policies were to the sellers I'd have stayed away. eBay asked for further information that I provided fully and they still couldn't and wouldn't resolve the issues. In my opinion they are a scam to sellers especially when they give chargeback and won't explain why! Bonanza policies and customer service is far better!!!

eBay does not protect its sellers. Without sellers there is no platform therefore no eBay. Had a buyer wait 6 weeks before telling me the item was broken. Item was in perfect working order and packed extremely well with fragile stickers all over the box. Buyer demanded refund despite having admitted she had tampered with the item (a typewriter). Had the cheek to return the item at extortionate postage even though I said I couldn't accept the item back as she had admitted tampering with it. Guess who eBay sided up with. I would have been happy to refund had she been honest and not waited 6 weeks. Absolutely disgusted. eBay fees are extortionate too in my opinion. Closing my account. Have already moved on. All I'm trying to do is downsize my possessions selling only anything I would deem worthy of buying myself. Rest is split between Salvation Army and recycling.

They are very unfair people towards their customers, I don`t like their behavior towards their customers. I hate eBay, I have bought a fur coat, it was not the same as picture, I have returned the item with an expensive record delivery. The seller did not pay back to me and eBay supports thug sellers, this is against sustainability and code of ethics in business. Shame on you eBay.

After a few weeks they said eBay wouldn't allow a refund. eBay then said they would refund my payment for the mistake. After many excuses about no refund, eBay said PayPal stopped the refund. Contacted PayPal and they said eBay was lying and had no record of this. eBay then said they would refund the payment. After 5 weeks eBay said they would refund a partial payment for their mistake. Still no refund to date, and am sure the next message from them will be another excuse. I have we closed my account with them and they still harass me.

Let me tell you a nice story, I'm a buyer from Panama, our country does not have mail or whatsoever, so I hired a shipping agency. Which cost me money and it's completely legal, then I had to change my shipping address on my account and the stupid eBay put me a restriction on it. When I called customer service and tell them about this they totally tell me to better stop buying on eBay and be on another website!! Wtf!? What kind of customer service tells you this, they don't care if you have problems, they didn't even try to help, they are a selfish and stupid business. Worst of all! Been with that acct for years and suddenly they did this! Not fair! I do not recommend eBay to anyone, if you are from the states, cool, if not, don't buy.

I've been a member since 2001 and I have seen all of the changes over the years - all for the worse if you sell on the site. eBay is the big horse in a 1 horse town. The site is no longer an auction site based on buyer + seller feedback (this changed around 2007). It's now (mostly) a fixed-price format site. All the risk is assumed by the seller and eBay rarely sides with a seller when a dispute arises. You cannot leave anything other than positive feedback on buyers. They just need to scrap the system entirely and stop making a joke of the old process.
If you want to sell your things online but don't have the money to spend thousands on advertising, your choices are eBay, eBay and eBay. eBay knows this and they take advantage of it. Their fees are sky-high and they rarely side with sellers when a dispute arises, no matter what proof you have. I am not suggesting that all of my interactions have been bad, just that when something does come up it's incredibly frustrating to deal with this company. They need to get sued via a class action lawsuit to correct their shady behavior.

Sold my personal beautiful cd player to a man in the states. It was packaged very well. Buyer made a claim that it's damaged and not working. I opened a damage claim to Canada post. A week later Canada post contacted me and refused to pay for the damage item because Canada post says item arrived undamaged to its destination. Now eBay is making me pay the buyer return shipping fee and once I receive the item I have to refund his full auction fee plus his first shipping fee. Now I got a badly damaged cd player in my hand. I lost 55 dollars to ship it. and I lost 40 dollars to get back a damaged cd player. This is sooo stupid. What the hell is wrong with eBay for making stupid foolish policy like this. You have no idea how upset I am. So disgusted by eBay.
