We purchased an ebay gift card at safeway. It was stolen in the mail and when I tried to cancel the card so the thief couldn't redeem it, I was told that the 4 digit activation # (all that is printed when you buy a card at safeway) was insufficient to cancel the card.

I sold an item on eBay for $285 and it has been a nightmare trying to collect my money. First they gave me conflicting shipping addresses. I had to wait for a response from the buyer only to find that they had given me a cross between his shipping and billing addresses. Next, they put a hold on releasing the money for the item. They have given me numerous stories as to when I would be paid. First it was after they received proof of delivery via my tracking number for USPS.

The buyer was not at home, so USPS left a notice asking them to reschedule. I sent 3 emails to the buyer about this to assure that he knew USPS had tried to contact them. I asked him to arrange for a new delivery time at his convenience. Meanwhile, eBay shifted me over to PayPal about receiving my payment. PayPal said they would give the buyer 21 days to reschedule the delivery. After that, they would release the money.

Today the buyer finally accepted delivery. Both eBay and PayPal have the USPS delivery confirmation and will not give me my money. Now they say I must wait for 3 business days just in case something happens. This wait time is for the buyer's protection. So I have paid over $52 in real money for shipping charges, eBay charges, and PayPal charges. PayPal charged $9 on a $300 payment!!!!! In return I have nothing. eBay has had the buyer's payment since October 11th and it's now October 23rd. I'm waiting for the next excuse for not paying me. To boot, eBay bounced my initial listing because the shipping costs, taken from their estimator, were too high. The estimator was correct, so I had to pay an extra $10 more than my ad read in order to ship the merchandise.

To all Federal and State agencies protecting the civil rights of the disabled veterans and handicapped citizens. This involves one the best known companies in the world today, eBay, about the complete lack of transparency. I have appealed to the Federal Trade Commission, Chamber of Commerce, and others to bring this company into oversight by consumer agencies. RE: Lack of transparency with eBay. Problems with eBay, a continued practice of not being able to reach anyone at the company, the continued excuse by law enforcement in trying to prosecute ID Theft and even a bank who is unable to resolve dispute with funds taken from account. Because of the extent of illegal or poor public relations business practices of this company toward disabled and uneducated citizens, this complaint is being directed to several federal and state agencies, who should be concerned with citizen treatment.

You may consider this a complaint, which I am addressing to Federal, State, and private agencies involved with resolution of problems discriminating against disabled veterans, and handicapped citizens. Permit me to introduce myself. I am Dr. **, totally blind, 100% disabled veteran of the Korean War, where I served as a medical officer. For over forty years as a disabled citizen, I have spoken for the largest minority of citizens in this country - the 38 million handicapped, many of whom, like me, still work and pay taxes.

Yesterday, Senator McCain was in my city and as one his chief supporters, I am seeking help through the Senate Commerce Committee about the problem that I am bringing to you. I talked to Senator Burr's office who offered support. I will not go into great detail here, but I have a long history of business with eBay. I can supply facts and figures about the number of people I have employed and the funds involved.

Over one week ago, without warning, my eBay business was suspended with eBay. As has been reported to me by my local bank, who tried to resolve an account problem with them. The local DA and police who tried to get information from them involving ID Theft, and many other things which I could discuss, the company is almost entirely isolated from anyone who wants to contact them about a problem, whether by mail, phone, or internet. I challenge you to look into this anti-citizen, this anti-customer attitude which prevents resolution of problems and certainly handicaps the commerce involved with the employees and public relations.

It is an insult to the law abiding American citizen who believes in the free enterprise, capitalism and age old system of treating fellow human beings with decency that I appeal to you to look into the commercial practices of this company doing business worldwide since evidently the judiciary is isolated from them. I am not currently able to do ecommerce with eBay. I have employees whose lives depend on working, and I have nothing for them to do.

I have been buying and selling on eBay for 4 years. I have (had) over 1500 positive feedback. I never did anything wrong. I followed all of eBay guidelines, paid all of my fees on time. No complaints or negative feed backs. I have recently had to close my car dealer business and am trying to sell my things (from high hand bags to sort after car parts, etc.). When I logged on few weeks ago to check the status of my 20 items, I had listed and one $300.00 ended item that I needed to collect on and ship, eBay had shut me down...suspended my account.

It's been 3 weeks, several phone calls & emails later and nothing. I still can't get an answer or response. eBay took the money for my fees and the items that sold, but closed the account so no one could pay me for the items they won. eBay sent an automated email stating I was linked to an account that was suspended...which is untrue. I can't discuss this with anyone because they can't help me when I finally get through by phone, they tell me to email... (eBay hides any phone number) and absolutely no response to contact us by email.

I find this to be almost like eBay is their own communist party and if you engage, you follow their lead and too bad what happens. I just don't understand how a business can run that deals with the public, but will not speak to its consumers. eBay is one the biggest companies in the world. They offer a service. The consumer pays for this service, but who does eBay answer to when they screw people out of their hard earned money and take away the service they offer that many people depend on for income? What gives eBay the right to steal from the us without being held accountable? It didn't work for Freddie, Fannie, AIG or Lehman Bros. did it? ?

I had purchased, through Ebay, a bridal bouquet package for Custom Silk creations with cost 149.99 USD on May 25, 2008. The payment cleared through Paypal on June 3, 2008. I had a problem with my wedding and put the order on hold for 2 weeks, not sure the exact dates. I receive a phone call from her after that discussing my order and was told I would have approval photos on July 5th, 2008. I did not receive anything. After numerous email and phone calls trying to reach her, I was told that she was behind schedule and that I will receive the approval photos on August 9. Still did not receive anything.

Again, after numerous emails and phone calls with no response, she finally responded on August 22, 2008 saying that she would cancel my order that day. I responded saying that the flowers were already paid for and she in return said my money would be refunded. I haven't received anything from her to this day. I do have copies of the emails I had sent and the email from her stating she would cancel my order and one stating that she would refund my money, and a few more after that where, after talking to customer service at Paypal, they had advised me to email and tell her that I want my refund within 2 to 3 business days, and her stating that she said she had already said she would refund my money and then my response that she had not told me when I would receive it so that I had determined it for her. Then she sent an email stating that my REFUND WILL ARRIVE BY CHECK IN THE US MAIL.That was on August 22, 2008. I have since sent emails stating I did not receive my refund, but got no response. I have not received the product that I had order or the refund. So I have to buy bouquets locally which will end up costing more than if I had received the bouquets I ordered from this company and lost 150 dollars besides.

EBay used to supply assistance via a telephone number and PIN number. I was led to understand this was a privilege I had earned by being a good honest eBay member. I had a problem today and discovered that the number was no longer there. I was never notified of any change in support status. I was forced to use a 'chat system' where the support person gave me untrue information saying eBay does not and has not operated telephone support. I pointed out I am disabled and cannot use a type-in system. He ignored this and kept asking how he could help.

Every comment I made was ignored, and I asked him why eBay was discriminating against disabled members and what, for instance, my cousin who is registered blind would now do? Apparently, these people are trained to ignore such questions as he did! One can be crippled serving one's country apparently and they don't care a jot? EBay have also imposed their own shipping and handling to sales items. This results in a shipping fee which the local UPS office says is completely incorrect! If one applies the rate given by UPS themselves, eBay penalizes one for excessive shipping. If one uses their eBay rate, one loses tens of dollars undercharging! The arrogance of eBay now it has PayPal and the market to itself is staggering, uncompetitive and the actions of their staff inexcusable.

I would like eBay to explain why they changed their support policy for those who had access to the eBay telephone support team without notifying anyone. I would like an apology from the staff member (Erick **) who lied and told me they had never had telephone support and I would like a further apology for the manner is which eBay ignores the needs of handicapped people. Federal Law requires that systems be handicapped accessible and this includes support one would imagine, as one is not meant to discriminate in the supply of services on the grounds the customer is disabled. For good measure, they could also correct their shipping calculator. I think they fear that sellers will reduce their prices and increase their shipping to avoid fees, but this is plainly a pre-supposition of guilt by eBay?

I was recently suspended from eBay. Before I was suspended, I had 2 items that were won but not paid for and I proceeded to open up an unpaid item report for both of them to get back my final value fees that eBay had taken. Well once eBay suspended me, they didn't give me back any of that money nor did they answer any of my emails regarding the subject. That was my money they took from me and didn't care once they suspended me and another thing is that I got a generated email of my monthly fees and it said I had a credit of 50 something dollars.

Well if they suspended me, then how could they give me a credit. I sent another email to try and get the credit and my final value fees back and again they didn't even respond to me. This is absolutely ridiculous and that is stealing. That money is not theirs and they are so STRICT with their rules and policies, but the consumer is out of luck. That is a horrible way to run a big company. I would like to know how many others they have stolen from and not rightfully given money back to.

I don't even know where to start with this. I was suspended a year ago on ebay for seller/buyer issues, after 3 months of getting nothing but automated responses from ebay, I got it resolved. Now because of the fact that their policy now states that buyers are the ONLY ones to leave negative feedback and there are NO steps they have to take before they do so, I am no suspended. And of course ebay does not have any way of communication thru the suspension group other than email. This is absolutly rediculous, and not professional in any way shape or form. Paypal at least gives you the option to call in.

I think this is very poor buisness conduct, and now have the fear of waiting yet another 3 months of getting this reinstated..and for what. And to top it off, while my account is suspended, no one,and I mean no one can send me money on items won, I cannot pay them, and to top off, because this is a feedback issue, they cannot leave any feedback whatsoever. And vice versa. I am demanding that ebay reinstate my acct. I don't care how high and far I have to go for this. I would like a response from at least the complaint dept as soon as possible.

A buyer clicked the Buy It Now button on 5 of our items, then told us she would only pay for 4 of them but expected all 5 of them to be shipped. Of course we said no, so she told us she wouldn't pay for any of the items. We filed the Unpaid Item Disputes, to which she responded only to say she wasn't going to pay. She received 5 Unpaid Item Strikes and left us negative feedback.

We appealed to eBay over the negative feedback since the fault was all the buyer's and she hadn't truly participated in the Unpaid Item Dispute. eBay's response: her Unpaid Item Strikes have been repealed. No mention about the abuse of the feedback system. We have asked several times why the Strikes were repealed, given that she didn't pay and had no good reason not to pay. eBay insists they can't tell us, since member accounts are private. Nor will they tell us why eBay made this decision in direct violation of their stated rules in both the User Agreement and Unpaid Items Policy. They also continue to drag their feet on responding to the inappropriate feedback situation.

It's bad enough we can't trust buyers to honor their commitments. If we can't trust eBay to enforce their own rules, there's no point in staying with eBay.

For seven years, my business partner and I have been using ebay as a buying and selling tool. Lately, it has become apparent that ebay is VICTIMIZING all sellers with their new rules. The latest regarding Paypal ONLY payments for winning sales is the final straw. The following is what we have posted on our current auctions: NOTICE: Ebay has announced effective October 2008, payments for ALL ebay items by checks or money orders will not be accepted. Only payments by PayPal will be allowed.

We think this is TOTALLY unfair to both buyers and sellers. Ebay OWNS PayPal and it is apparent that because Ebay makes money off payments made through PayPal (charging sellers yet ANOTHER fee) that Ebay HAS BECOME EVEN MORE GREEDY! Ebay has changed the fee structure to sellers, the feedback policy which prohibits sellers from leaving negative feedback to buyers where warranted (on those rare occasions)and now this new policy regarding only PayPal payments, we as a seller for over SEVEN years will close our account and move on to another more FRIENDLY auction site.

In seven years of accepting checks for payment, NOT ONE HAS EVER BOUNCED. On the other hand, those with concerns as buyers using money orders claim it's easier for buyers to pocket the money and not deliver on the goods. Not necessarily, you can ALWAYS check with your bank or post office to see if your money order has cleared just like with your check. There are many older buyers who do not trust online paying. We have many repeat customers who always send checks or money orders. Now those customers will be lost forever.

It has also become more difficult to contact ebay regarding any problems whether as a seller or buyer. It seems they are HIDING behind their massive WALL OF GREED and refuse to act like responsible business people. We as one small business owners do not like the idea of internet regulation. Many sellers are leaving ebay because of this most recent change in the rules. It has been suggested that perhaps a class action suit is in order so that ebay can be knocked out to the level of the rest of us.

Loss of income due to payment restrictions and the outrageous fees ebay charges sellers to use their services.

I want to accept cash, check or money orders as I have for 10 years. I do not want to pay them any more in fees than I already pay.

I do not want to let Pay Pay handle my money. it is my money and I do not want then to have anything to do with it. They are not a bank and my funds are not fully protected when in their hands and they have too many rules about what they can do with the funds in their care....funds which they can earn interest on after they have been paid to manage the funds.

With eBays new rules I will no longer be able to make my meager sales of my personal posessions...sales that mostly amount to under $30.00 each. When I get paid by money order or personal check I get the money in my hand take it to my bank and mail the item to the high bidder. money in and product out. I often need the money on the day it comes in to buy groceries or put gas in my car.

I don't want it to be subjected to another set of fees imposed on my by eBay for being forced to use their other company Pay Pal. It is my sale of my item...how can they tell me how or what I can take for payment? especially when they want me to use their company for the funds transfer.

They sold me an inoperable NEW cello on Ebay for $872.93, which upon receipt was not functionable (they told me that it was MY responsibility initially to take it to a shop to get the sound post repositioned at my expense and only later were they willing to give me a credit when I told them that the sound post was too short), in addition to many manufacturing issues per Mr. R., his luthier, and his salesman at the violin shop (R.'s): fingerboard dressing is supposed to scoop in but it sticks out too much and is warped, soundost is not long enough, birdge too low; it is a piece of junk and would cost me hundreds just to make it operable. Also, poor wood quality would crack in our dry climate. It had a one year warranty, but KKMusic store tells me that "cracks are not covered"

I returned it, they refused it due to "crack" and sent photos as evidence of a small separation at the bottom of the cello at the seam. It was not in any way damaged and the Violin shop says it was due to changes in humidity and just unglued at seam, not cracked (they even emailed me and stated it :splitted at the seem(sic)". Company tried to blame UPS and tried to get me to get UPS to pay for damages (scapegoat UPS). So now they have my money, and I am stuck with an inoperable cello.

I attempted to contest the charge on my Discover Card, but KK Music store convinced Discover that UPS was responsible and paying me damages (NOT true). I am simply appalled at how they tried to put the costs of on UPS. The violin shop says the repair/gluing of the seam would cost $20 and is no big deal compared to all the other issues with this instrument (finger board cut wrong, sound post too short and doesn't fit, bridge is positioned wrong and needs to be replaced, strings of lousy quality, wheel fell off case first time we used it, wood is buckling on side from when it was manufactured, and wood is unaged wood not suitable for dry climate.

Apparently there are a ton of these cheap junky violin and cellos and violas coming out of China and being sold on the internet to consumers such as myself. The violin shop reports seeing tons of them coming into the shop and my son's orchestra teacher says she is seeing them too and has told her students and their parents NOT to buy them. Meanwhile, consumers are being taken by these on the internet without recourse. (I even wasted an additional $150 to UPS this cello back to the company only for them to refuse it based on flimsy excuses and for them to try and blame UPS). Please consider protecting innocent consumers from these companies and junky Chinese musical instruments.

I am fed up with ebay. In the beginning, it was a great idea. Things seemed to be fair between buyers and sellers. Now, several years later, it seems that the real problem is ebay itself. Ebay has become such a money hungry corporate pig anymore. There isn't really any protection for buyers or sellers. Having walked on both sides of the fence, I have noticed that the only real protection exists for ebay itself. They seem to cover all the bases when it concerns them but puts very little effort in the protection of its sellers or buyers.

I used to have an ebay store and sold items for several years until it became so rediculous that I ended up dumping it. It seems that you might make some money if you sell big ticket items, but even that is in question anymore. Ebay seems to have cornered the market on auction sites and as a way of showing its consumer appreciation, they are constantly raising their long list of fees such as store fees, insertion fees, galary fees, buy it now fees, final value fees and so on and so on. They took over Half.com and are in conjunction with PayPal as well.

I have finally had the last straw when they announced that they will be setting limits on shipping fees. In other words, if something costs more to ship from the east or west coast, the seller has to bite the lose. Ebay's answer to this problem is for the seller to raise their starting price. Who wins here? Ebay, of course. The seller looses out because he has to compete with other sellers prices and may not get bids due to having to raise his/her prices higher and ebay makes more money for the higher final value fee.

The second thing that set me off was their announcement that in Oct. of 2008, you can no longer pay with money orders or checks. I understand checks, but come on, money orders. What's the harm in that. Oh, that's right. PayPal doesn't receive their kickback. Ebay is making it manditory for you to open a PayPal account or pay via credit card. Even when you purchase seller or buyer protection, you can only claim a small percentage after paying PayPals $25.00 fee to look into the matter.

I have read so many complaints against ebay's business practice from how long you have to search their site to find the hidden customer service number to how ebay has been suspending innocent parties. I am just so fed up. I hope that someone out there comes up with the idea to over power ebay's monopoly on the market and start another auction site that actually takes their business practices more seriously and puts both buyers and sellers above any greedy money hungry corporate practices.

E-bay seller still owes promised items will not send due to no feedback. Hello, I bought a 2005 Minivan on E-Bay back on June 22nd, flew to Tampa and picked up the vehicle on June 25th. After signing the title I realized that the interior pictures on e-bay were not the ones of the actual vehicle except for the color. Several items were missing such as satellite radio, center consol (between the seats), power adjustable pedals and the center dashboard is slightly different as well. Call the seller and of course he would not take the vehicle back.

Besides the interior the exterior had overspray on three fenders, door handles and bumpers were repainted, major dents on roof, headlight not aligned (most likely slight front end damage), different tires etc. Called the seller immediately after realizing these flaws which was about 1 hour after the documentation but he did not take the vehicle back. All of these were not described nor were they visible on the pictures.

Seller offered $ 500 usd plus I would receive the missing key and the center consol. Agreed on it as I had no other choice being in Tampa. So my deposit of 400 usd was refunded via Paypal. Now after two month I still have not received the remaining money, the key and the center consol. Sent several reminders and the seller indicated that they will be sent by the end of last week.

After sending another reminder he told all is ready to be sent but only if I leave a positive feedback which I denied due to the above reasons. But I promised that I would not leave a feedback at all which was not satisfying for him. I have his previous promise in writing to send me the missing items and he never mentioned anything about the positive feedback. I should have all the rights to get these items and the money which were promised to me, correct? What is the best way to file a complaint? Small Claim Court? Better Business Bureau? What are the chances? Everything is documentated on e-mail and via e-bay. I appreciate your feedback

Guess there is nothing I can do about the fraudulent content (pictures of a wrong interior) and the misleading exterior, correct? I pretty much want the promised items from the seller as agreed. There is no reason to hold these back because I do not leave a feedback.

Something is going on with eBay. They've suspended many of my friends accounts. They will not respond to any e-mail's, faxes, phone calls, etc. They keep telling each one that they are sorry that they do not have any more information. I've contacted the BBB in San Jose and they said that eBay has over 4K complaints lodged against them. I then contacted the Attorney General's office in CA and was told that since eBay is on the internet that they are not regulated. So basically there is nothing you can do.

All of my friends have at least 1K listings for sale on eBay. Each auction takes approx. ten minutes each to post. Can you imagine the time it took for these to do? Then all these sellers rely totally on the income. To sign on and see that all your hard work and income is totally shut down with no explanation, no nothing, is horriable. eBay has way too much power, how can they get away with this. These are all long-time, old school sellers. I know it seems odd. Any suggestions? Thank you

I was accused of Shill Bidding, meaning they were accusing me of bidding up someone's auction with no intention of buying merely to raise the price. They suspended my account as well as the accounts of sellers that I had bid on their items for 14 days plus I am required to take a tutorial on Shill Bidding. They sent notices to the sellers giving my Ebay ID and stating I was the reason for this.

I haven't bid on anything in over a month. Anything I have bid on and won in the past I have paid for in a timely manner through Paypal. If I lost an auction because the price was bid up to more than I wanted pay, that should be at my dicression. Am I obligated to continue bidding on something I dont want anymore because I found a better price? I have 100% buyer/seller rating and only positive feedback. I have never received a negative email or complaint.

When I asked Ebay for information how they came to this conclusion I got a reply that stated due to the high volume my question would be addressed in 3-4 days. Unless they could give me real answers and show proof (which they don't have) they should not have suspended my account or my seller's accounts.

Several people I have purchased items from had their seller accounts suspended as well. I am also a seller which means that myself as well as my fellow sellers affected can not generate income because of a false accusation. If I was in the wrong, which I was not, no one else should have been penalized but me.

In May, 2008, I purchased a Louis Vuitton Cabas Piano bag for $455, which the buyer affirmed had been authenticated by caroldiva. Upon receiving it, in a LV sleeper bag provided by the seller, I discovered one strap was in need of repair, a flaw not mentioned by the seller prior to payment.

I listed it for sale on eBay, picturing this used purse along with damaged strap and the dustbag in which it was delivered to me, seeking a minimum starting bid of $19.99. Within an hour, eBay notified me the listing had been cancelled; for security reasons they will not disclose why, but the notification cites prohibited items: trademark violations/counterfeits/replicas. I wrote eBay asking for clarification, since this is an authentic LV handbag sold just 90 days ago to me on eBay at commission to them and have gotten no answer, other than notification that the listing fee is also nonrefundable.

I am out $455+ on a bag sold to me via eBay that eBay now implies is not authentic, in addition to a listing fee for a bag that was shown on their site for literally less than one hour.

I just received an email from eBay that my account could be suspended for abusing the feedback system. What was the offence? You decide here is how the initial feedbacks went. My initial post: The seller sent damaged item. Never responded to inquiries. Untrustworthy outfit Reply by smdcomputer (Aug-02-08 18:19): Delusional Buyer NEVER sent ONE EMAIL. I guess I need to read minds now. WOW. Follow-up by opita703 (Aug-02-08 20:46): Paypal refunded the money, what does that say? You are untrustworthy.

Today, the follow-up on Aug-02-08 20:46 was deleted, you will not see the third line. Quick background: Smdcomputer sent me a broken item, I sent them two emails asking for a replacement, after no replies, I sent a third asking for a refund, to which I receive no reply. I started a claim for my money through Pay Pal; here is the history of emails: 7/22/2008 09:39 PDT - Pay Pal: Buyer escalated this dispute to a Claim.

7/22/2008 09:39 PDT - Buyer: I have tried to contact the seller, regarding this matter, twice through Pay Pal and once through the EBay Contact Seller. He does not seem to have any intention in replying to my inquiries. The seller's indifferent attitude is appalling; your help in obtaining a full refund is appreciated. Thank you.

7/18/2008 07:34 PDT - Buyer: Two days ago I sent you an email explaining that the part you sent was defective, you have not responded and I can not sit on limbo, therefore, I am requesting: (1) A full refund, and (2) directions as to how you want to pick your damaged item. Thank you. 7/18/2008 07:34 PDT - Pay Pal: (my name was here)

    requested a $15.79 USD refund.

7/16/2008 11:15 PDT - Buyer: The item I received has a broken button assembly. The shipping package seemed to be well done so that it gives the impression that this item was damaged before it was sold. I would like to think of it as an oversight on your part, and would like to have it replaced by an undamaged one ASAP. Pay Pal sided with me and since this scumbag, smdcomputers, never replied obviously they were guilty and had no defense.

So what happens next? I get the following unsolicited email from the scumbags, smdcomputers: Date: Sat, 2 Aug 2008 21:09:11 -0400
From: smdcomputer@gmail.com Subject: eBay item "get your head checked idiot. i would have sent you a refund or an exchange. if i received ONE email from you. stupid lier. "never responded to inquiries" HOW ABOUT AN E-MAIL! what is the matter with you? you like waiting 20 days with paypal? I guess you do because your dumb. It takes 2 MOUSE CLICKS TO FIND MY PHONE NUMBER!
you click on ABOUT ME then theres a LINK TO MY WEBSITE AND HOME NUMBER. maybe Its me....next time ill just use my telepathy and sense that Gustavo G. from Oak Hill, VA has a problem with 1 $10 order. It cost me $5 to send you that part. $1.50 to eBay fees. Im a criminal master mind stealing my customers money. I guess it never a cured to you that something was wrong when you saw i had NO BAD feedbacks.

I guess you thought i was out to steal your $3.50 because again your, dumb person sincerly, your criminal untrustworthy... (but easy to get a hold of) sales man"

Other emails similar to that one followed. So I take all pertinent information and I complaint to EBay that one of their seller has not only sold me, knowingly, a broken item, but that he has initiated unsolicited personal email attacks. What does eBay do? They sent me a standard mail message with links to everywhere but their resolution center, and pretty much wash their hands off by saying, "I am sorry" there is nothing we (eBay) can do. I replied to the contrary, and pointed out that I gave EBay in good faith my personal information, and that I did not expect it to be used by unscrupulous people for personal attacks. Also, I said that I hope EBay would reconsider their action on the matter. I guess they did. A few days later I got a warning letter that accuses me of abusing the feedback.

I feel eBay: (1) has aided this abuser, smdcomputer, by providing my personal information, (2) is taking no action to protect their users from abuse, (3) is damaging my reputation by deleting my feedback (4) is protecting unscrupulous sellers (5) should provide an honest feedback system. I was refunded my investment by Pay Pal. There was no physical damage. However, I feel like my reputation has been damaged.

Failure to maintain a 4.6 rating out of 5.0 warrants suspension, lost listings, non placement of listings that have been paid for. Again, we have absolutely no way to view the actual ratings.

But when I wrote them back saying that wasnt the account I wrote them about but how come one account is suspended and the other isnt, they suspended the second account.

I mentioned that the seller could contact me through eBay or my private email, which I thought to not be a problem since I had to check a special box blocking my email address if I wanted, which I did not block. Twenty minutes later, my account was suspended for violating eBay's spam policy of not conducting private sales. Would I mention the buy it now option if I intended to avoid using eBay? No.

I contacted the customer complaint email and had an email exchange with Malcolm and Kendre, neither of whom helped me at all since they said the only way I could get my account reinstated was for fax (fax!) a formal appeal including my personal and credit card information (I could black out most of the numbers if I liked). I live overseas, and faxes aren't cheap. What's more, why am I basically apologizing for eBay since it was their error?

Lost my eBay account. Lost the opportunity to get the bass. I will not be able to get an eBay account unless I fax in the formal appeal papers when it was their error in the first place.

I think that is cornering the Market...after thier own interest and pocketbook. I heard they MAY also be considering forcing all BUYERS to use Paypal at leats Once a month for a purchase.

An Ebay customer told me that they recieved a message from Ebay NOT to conclude our sale... i.e. send Payment..because I listed money orders only. Many Ebayers do, are they all being chastized and thier buyers scared away? I was wondering why no payments have been arriving after the first week. I had to email all of them and reassure them they will get thier orders. Something smells like when Microsoft tried to corner the market, I think Ebay is trying to do so also. are they allowed to do this? Esp. since the Own Both companies? That's a Monopoly.

Now I must RAISE prices, which will reduce SALES to cover Ebay-Paypal's double fees. is the government looking into this? I hear Australia is already investigating Ebay's practices right now. I just want advice....for now. not legal action at this time. but the government should be aware of what's going on in the world of Ebay. Thank You

I filed a complaint about this matter with two other reporting agencies. Following is an excerpt from the response I received from eBay's Office of the President: eBay does not have a ''Guest Buyer'' option and at no time can an unregistered user purchase an item using our site. This means that either you or someone with access to this information filled out the required fields and agreed to the eBay User Agreement.

That's right: rather than owning up to what they did, eBay is pretending that a program listed on their own website DOES NOT EXIST, and that I must have somehow filled out a complete registration page and clicked 'agree' in my sleep. The account is closed now, thankfully. However, the lack of accountability this company has is unconscionable.

The seller responded by email to me and stated I sent back old, scratched speakers, which is untrue. I have filed a paypal claim, but Dokato has the speakers so I have no proof. Back in April of 2008 I contacted the store about some items I wanted them to sell on EBAY for me. They were going by the name of "Eye Soldit Enterprises Inc." and dba "I SOLD IT'.They now changed their name to "OnLine Selling Pros". I spoke to the manager 'Sheila' who was reluctant to take any of my items. I had sent photos of the items to the owner 'Lenny' and he seemed very interested in selling my items. Lenny came to my house for a fee of $50.00 and took away 14 items to his shop to be posted on EBAY. He inadvertantly broke two glasses while looking thru my items. I was never reimbursed for those two glasses.

Once he brought the items back to his store, his manager 'Sheia' was again reluctant to put them on EBAY as she said they would not sell and were "dusty". They did post 6 of the 14 items on EBAY and they all sold. They told me to pick up the remaining 8 items which were picked up by a friend of mine. One of the items that Lenny took from my house was a large Redwood clock. When the non-posted items were picked up from the store, the Redwood clock was missing. When I spoke to the store, I was told that the clock was broken and they threw it out. I told them they should not have thrown it out without my permission and it was NOT broken when it was taken out of my house.

The manager Sheila was rude and unprofessional to me and no compensation was offered. I would like to be compensated for the Redwood clock and for the two glasses that were broken. If the unposted items were in such bad condition - Lenny should not have taken them in the first place. I received a pittance for the 6 items that were posted on EBAY and they incorrectly posted 3 separate items on one posting and they should have been listed separetely. People who are looking for these kind of stores to place their items on EBAY for sale should definately steer clear from this store.

i feel duped and conned. VERY unprofessional. I remain uncompensated for the Redwood clock and for the 2 broken glasses. These items were my Mother's and she is now deceased. To have been treated in this way and to have one item "thrown away" and 2 other items broken with no compensation only adds to the emotional distress. I want to be compensated.

so then it explained how to send payment which was wire transfer through western union and that ebay was suppose to verify the payment and then contact the seller and he would then ship the car and he wouldnt get the money until we got the car and made sure we wanted it so needless to say he set the whole thing up with the emails and everything and instead of me sending emails to ebay it was going to him he set up a ebay email account not through like yahoo aol verizon it was EBAY@purchase-protection-program.com (which thats one reason i won't suspicious), So after emailing ebay (well i thought it was ebay) i wrote in the email asking about the tracking # for the car because that was explained in the email that after sending the money and ebay verifying it the seller had 3 days to send a tracking # to ebay.

well after not recieving a answer back from ebay i started getting worried so i called western union and they said he picked up the $3000 Thursday morning and so after finding that out i went on ebay's website and talked to them live online and asked them about this situation that happended and they told me there is no one i can talk to on the phone myself they do have a fraud team but only the police can talk to them and i have sent over 5 emails to there safety team and there not answering my questions at all they keep writing how to protect myself when buying and telling me not to contact that seller anymore

when i tried to explain that he already got the money and i need help on what to do and they show no concern about this seller that is still a member on there site and ebay said it's not there fault because it was done outside of ebay even though the emails look exactly like the ones they send out to people after buying and also the seller said he was transfered to the UK for his job and the car was warehoused in TN which he sent pictures of the car and everything it certainly didn't seem like a scam at the time..when we contacted the british police through email they said they have over 16 different address's like the the address the seller used and they said that my local police would need to get in contact with them if they feel the need too.and we did contact the hopewell VA police and they came and did a police report and collected all emails and documents i had from this whole transaction and they said the FBI might pick this up that was on Friday June 28th.

And today we contacted the FBI and police and were told that we will never get our money back and noone will help us try to track this scam artist down! However I recently made up a FAKE person and sent this seller a email about wanting to buy this car and again he is trying to scam this FAKE person with the same information he gave me. he is using a different name this time but same email and everything and if someone would do there job right they could use this oppertunity to set the seller up and catch him and possible get our money back before thousands of other americans are scammed by this guy! Please let this story warn others out there that shop online to be careful because this could happen to anyone! PLEASE PASS THIS TO ANYONE THAT MIGHT CARE TO HELP US IN ANYWAY! We have the western union paper and all emails from this scammer! And ebay has SEVERAL WAYS to secure there website so scammers can't copy and paste any logo or email they send out or is on there webpage. Well we lost $3000 and no one will help us in anyway

This is what's happening on ebay due to the rule that sellers cannot leave any feedback-unless it's positive. So when buyers don't pay, you risk getting bad feedback for filing to get your fees back. My friend recently had a bidder from Canada win the auction, but the auction was only listed to US buyers only. He kepts sending these ignorant emails about sending him the total and he'll pay. He doesn't want to hear the fact that he was violating the rules in the first place.

Ebay's rules toward me as a seller or to either fix the postage and sell it to him or to have both of us agree for me to file a non-paying bidder alert. This of course, will never be agreed by this [person], and he'll only leave negative feedback. So I'm stuck with eating the listing fees and final value fee. I know this happens everyday to others & looks like the makings of a future class action suit. Thanks for reading.

Each time someone doesn't pay, I tend to lose a dollar or so. There are millions each day who probably lose the same.

I started out selling my products (my very own creation, I'm a programmer) on eBay. It was all good at the beginning. Until paypal came accross and demanded me to provide proof of purchase for all items I was selling. I said: wait a minute, I did not buy these softwares, I wrote them myself and they have my own signature. Not mentioning that I have the source code (part that only onwners have when it's not a open source).

Well, not good enough for paypal. They still wanted something else to delay the process of me having direct access to my cash. I found out that paypal does that in order to get some time to work with other people's money. When you get thru with paypal, than comes ebay, with their sky high fees, that block or suspend your account at their liking. They will not even let you know in advance if something is wrong, and give you the chance to fix it.

In my case especificaly, I was selling my own products, that ultimately were tagged as bootlegged softwares or counterfeit copies... I was furious. I just wanted to take my friends truck and drive into their office in San Jose, and stuck my products you know where. My account was blocked and they required some documents in order to re establish my account, and I had to swear not to sell illegal softwares on ebay anymore. I simply ignored it and dont use them anymore.

Amazon.Com. This last one, charges you an absurd amount of fees for, and still call you products counterfeit or bootlegged copies. It's just ridiculous. Not mentioning that they held approximately 2.5 K I had on my amazon account for 45 days, money I could not touch, even being mine. Luckly, my costs were basically for shipping, because I produced my products, but if it was not for that, I would not have made it.

I 'm currently fighting Amazon to get my money back...did I mention that they reversed aprox. 1.5 K that I had previously in my account ? Well, they did. Did they ask ? No. Do they care ? No. Are they happy ? Yes. Am I happy with them ? Big fat NO.

I cant count on a system that is unstable to do business with. So I cant count on ebay, payapal or amazon.

I purchased 3 gemstones from one ebay seller gemvillage. This was a frudulent sale first because the seller doctored a yellow stone, coloring it green and calling it Demantoid (a rare (green) gem inducing a higher price/bid) and second because ebay requires that a seller state where the item is located and shipped from and the ebay bidding screen on all three gems said Thailand. Thailand has a well known gem trade, where many trained gemologists work from.

Again, inducing trust and a higher price/bid this seller said the item location was Thailand and charged me $8.00 for shipping from there. The package came from California with a postage stamp of $1.98. Upon reporting this to ebay, of course like everyone else receives, the response was a canned form e-mail. PayPal's response to my claim was that they would collect the refund of the gems to me, the cost of shipping to me would not be included and that I would have to return the gems by mail with tracking, (take a loss in the cost of shipping to me) and further that I must pay to ship these items back to THAILAND (not California where they really came from) a total loss to me of $23.00.

Paypal's representative and then a requested supervisor stated to me that they don't or can't request the shipping be returned to me which is a lie because they have done this before when I have received fake gemstones. I also called and spoke with customer service at e-bay and went through the live chat trying to speak with someone from security. I left messages with customer service for security and voicemail requesting someone from security call me back. I have not received response, however, customer service did tell me it is not within their power to do anything about this or tell me what the punishment would be to the seller if any took place. The seller is still online selling so I would say it is not much of a punishment that would ever sway a seller from continuing to defraud buyers.

Ebay and PayPals lack of concern, refusal to call me back, refusal to make the fraudulent seller take the loss rather than me, the buyer, continuing to let the seller sell items make it clear that their main concern is making money from these sales and they are willing to overlook the fraud which continuously grows on ebay. This should be considered fraud in itself. Not once did anyone ask to see the envelope or gems or accept my offer to scan and forward pictures of the envelope and gems to them.

I have limited ability to test these gems. I can test the stones with a refractometer which shows the so called Demantoid not to be Demantoid at all and I can test the two so called Paraiba Tourmalines with the refractometer which shows them both to be tourmaline, however, Paraiba Tourmaline is different and requires a highly technical machine to see if the stones contain cooper and/or manganese. Paraiba tourmaline glows in neon colors. One of these stones appears to be Paraiba tourmaline, the other stone does not appear to be Paraiba tourmaline at all. So many buyers buy gems, trusting at the word of these ebay sellers and have no way of testing the stones. How many are these fraudulent sellers and ebay ripping off unbeknownst to buyers. Of course ebay and paypal should be holding sellers to the highest of honesty and integrity and if they are not honest, they should not be allowed to continue to sell.

The total sell was not that much this time, $178.00 plus the shipping of $15.00 to ship to Thailand but this is not the first time this has happened in my gem collecting. This is just the last time I will allow ebay to get away with it. To flagrant.(sp) The only thing I can do about this is cancel my account with e-bay which I have done and report them here in hopes that something can be done to stop the losses to ebay and paypal customers.

I still have the gems and the envelope. PayPal wants me to return them at my expense to Thailand. The proof of fraud is gone if I send them back, and I lose out on the shipping both directions if I send them back. Ebay and PayPal get away with and continue on protecting these fraudulent sellers if I don't at least try in here. So that leaves me stuck with the original cost of $178.00 as my loss. Maybe less after sending the one Paraiba in for testing (a $90.00 cost) to confirm it is Paraiba Tourmaline. I can't imagine or face again, sending them back and the seller claiming he didn't get them or that all 3 gems were not in the envelope and then not only will I lose the $178.00 but the return shipping charge of $15.00 as well.

I have been a Seller on ebay for over a year now, I have spent most of the money I make on ebay, only to cover ebay's monthly fee's for the store and fee's for listing items, fee's for selling items, and fee's to store pictures that you need to sell items. ebay has fee's for everything, when I do come out ahead I have to use that money to cover shipping the items I've sold. So out of $300.00 sales I well have to pay over $100.00 to $150.00 for ebays fee's then to ship items it may cost me $50.00 to $80.00 and of course dont forget about pay pal more fee's for each transaction and then to move your money to your bank account guess what? yeah more fee's.

out of a tipical months sells of $300.00 I may end up seeing $50.00 to $80.00 of it the rest all goes to ebay, pay pal and USPS. That is as long as the money get's into my bank account before ebay without notice will take my fee's out of my bank account and overdraft my account, as PAY PAL takes 3 to 4 business days to transfer money from your Pay Pal account into your bank account. Now reading how ebay has mislead items being posted I can understand why I could never find my items once I went on to the network, most I well find on the last day or 2 of auction hours before the item ends most of the time not selling it but ebay takes there fee's any way.

The Consequences of these actions is I have to hold back shipping each month to cover ebays fee's before shipping as a results I get bad marks from buyers that are unhappy with shipping times. Now ebay has a new policy of cutting sellers network time using these bad marks against sellers resulting in no network time for my store forcing me to place items onto the auction where fee's are much higher and most items sell for next to nothing or not at all! while ebay keeps collecting there fee's while I am forced to sell items that should bring $20 or $30 for pennys, and making only shipping fee's of which I must pay everything with.

My store this past month sold next to zero yet my ebay fee's are over $70.00. My once store that was just making it, well now end up closing and will close my bank account as I will not have the money to pay those monthly fee's as I am out of work and have no income other than what I got from my ebay store.

eBay has adopted a practice of discriminating against its sellers. I am an eBay power seller. In May, eBay adopted a new feedback policy in which buyers can rate sellers, but the seller no longer has any recourse. In June, I had a customer leave feedback that has blemished my perfect feedback rating. The information in the feedback was totally false and defamatory.

I provided proof to eBay that the information was false and that the member used feedback extortion to try to get money out of me prior to leaving the feedback. When I refused, he left me defamatory feedback. eBay told me they took action against the buyer for the feedback extortion, but they will not remove the defamatory feedback. This is unfair and discriminatory.

My business prides itself on its 100% positive feedback rating. Now, that has been ruined by false accusations. There is no way to know how much money I will lose due to this. I am sure it will have an impact on how my customers view me and my business.

I made a guest purchase on eBay about a week ago. According to the website, consumers are permitted to purchase two items on eBay without registering or establishing an account or username. The terms say this, very very clearly. I made my purchase, I paid, and I thought that was settled. I did NOT choose a username or a password, or register for eBay at any point during the purchase process. And I read the fine print before I click anything.

Lo and behold, when I received the purchase receipt, there was an eBay user name. When I followed the link, it took me to a user page on eBay. They set up an account for me without my consent, authorization or confirmation.

Off I went to eBay Customer Service. There's no phone number, and I can't sign into an account I DIDN'T CREATE, so I used the email us link. I received a form email telling me to log in and cancel my account from there. Nope, nobody with a brain actually read my message.

Since then it's been all downhill. I've emailed, I've used LiveHelp, I've spelled it all out as simply as I can: the account was created without my consent and needs to be closed immediately. No luck. In the latest email, eBay has informed me that this unauthorized account I didn't register for must be kept open for 180 days to prevent fraud, and because I bought something on the site. That's right: they're trying to prevent fraud on an account THEY created fraudulently. And apparently, all their information about guest purchases not requiring account/username creation is completely false. Breach of contract, much?

I've also specifically asked eBay's reps for the name, email or telephone number of managers, supervisors or the Fraud Department. They have repeatedly and openly refused to give me any information, and keep sending me back to the form-letter-generating Email Us link. This is unconscionable. If an account anywhere else was created without my consent, I could contact someone and get it shut down immediately. eBay, on the other hand, doesn't seem to be interested in adhering to its own policies or protecting its users. Not to mention that it is employing an entire team of customer service reps that are apparently completely unable to think critically, read and comprehend complaints, and do anything other than copy-paste form letters and responses.

My information is currently being used in an unauthorized username and account. That's a pretty large consequence. I've filed reports with the FTC and another reporting agency, which has resulted in a lot of my time being wasted to complain about a problem eBay create and should have corrected immediately.

After numerous concerns with eBay regarding fraud, access to personal information and bias against sellers, I have decided to close my account. When I follow the procedures outlined to close the account, I am given an error message that is inaccurate. I have emailed eBay at least 7 times and used their online chat live help feature and been online with them for over 2 hours only to receive multiple excuses as to why they can't close my account, none of them valid by their own admission.

These invalid excuses include: 1. That my account has open listings (it doesn't). 2. That my account has open half.com listings (it doesn't). 3. That my account is suspended (it's not). 4. That there's a glitch (there isn't...I was able to close a separate account within 2 minutes with no problem). I feel this is an attempt to keep my personal information available to them for fraudulent purposes and it's unacceptable. They need to close my account immediately.

I began bidding on this item earlier today and noticed, a few minutes after entering my bid, that the maximum bid have moved higher to the exact figure of my own maximum bid. I then raised my bid at least twice more and each time the maximum bid increased to exactly what my own highest bid was. I believe that what I have described is a result of eBay raising the item price to the same amount as my highest bid.

The price for the item in question is now at least $20.00 more than it should have been.

Their newest gimmick of authorizing buyers to leave negative, with sellers' unable to respond in kind. Since the inception of their new feedback policy, our account has received ten negatives, had numerous demands for refunds and returns, despite absolutely no reason. Items were as described, and a not return policy was stated.

One woman demanded a refund because the shoes that she purchased squeaked. Another didn't like the book, turned out to be a book dealer that could not make the profit she wanted, and returned a 50-year-old book damaged. Both got their money back. Another from out of country filed a non-receipt, got $200.00 back even though eBay had the customs form, the receipt from the post office. Another buyer filed a complaint for non-receipt of a book less than a week after the end of auction.

Too much time is now taken up on refunds and returns and complaints. What used to be a 99% feedback is now on its way down. Time is money. Someone needs to come up with some competition for eBay.

Since this person never paid for the vehicle, I was forced to relist it on Ebay and pay to relist it for auction again. This person's negative, racist feedback affected my new auction, and the vehicle was unable to sell. It is against Ebay policy for anyone to use to words SCAM ARTIST in their feedback, and to also make racial remarks. This person did both.

I emailed Ebay customer support numerous times requesting that this feedback be removed and they refused to remove it even though it violates Ebay policy. Also, Ebay will allow buyers to leave negative feedback about sellers, but sellers are only allowed to leave positive feedback about buyers. I left negative feedback for this buyer, and Ebay suspended my account and is refusing to let me access my account.

I lost $5000.00 that I was supposed to receive for my vehicle auction. I was in the process of exchanging emails with different buyers for the purchase of my car, but Ebay canceled my account and I am unable to contact these buyers now. I had to pay another $50 to relist my vehicle because the original buyer never paid for the auction he won. Ebay was my only source of income and now I have been living in a state of extreme poverty because Ebay has refused to take action against this buyer that violated Ebay policy, but they are taking every action they can against me, and I haven't done anything wrong.

Here's one for the books. I had bought a Mickey Mantle-Ted Williams -Joe DiMaggio signed photo with a GAI COA (which is an Ebay approved authentication service). I listed it last week on Ebay and it was removed 2 days later. In my listing, I had the photo description, said that it had a matching sticker and COA from GAI, listed the serial number and provided a link to GAI's site for verification. I also had a picture of the photo and a picture of the COA.

After 4 days and several calls to Ebay, I finally got an answer to why my listing was cancelled. They said "several" sources said it may not be real. If I want to relist it, I would have to have it re-authenticated through one of the other services. There's only 4 authentication services that are Ebay approved. They are GAI, PSA/DNA, SA and ONLINE AUTHENTICS.

My question would be why wouldn't PSA/DNA or 1 of the other services say it may not be real? If I was to send it in to PSA/DNA, the cost would be $200.00 to authenticate it. Knowing GAI was already approved was the main reason I bought it. If Ebay isn't going to stand by it's list of approved authenticators, they should remove them. I'm out the original price I paid for the photo and about $200 in profit.

Ebay has unfairly suspended my account. I have been selling plans to build a solar pool heater, skateboard ramps and an electric supercharger for about three and a half years. At some point ebay changed their policy so that items which are electronically delivered (such as plans and construction manuals)must be listed in the general category and not under their relevant product categories. Ebay did not inform me of this nor did they give me opportunity to rectify the problem. The first I knew of anything being wrong was when my listings started disappearing. There was no communication from ebay nor was there any known reason for the disappearance of my listings.

Naturally I relisted my items and emailed ebay for an explanation. The listings disappeared again so I suspected that my account had been compromised by a malicious third party. I then changed my password, relisted the items and complained to ebay again. There was still no communication from ebay. I then found the live help link and tried them but they were all but useless. My account was then suspended and despite appeal ebay refuses to even consider re-instating my account. The last email I received from them said that they would not answer any more emails from me.

The items I list are genuine, innocuous and comply with all of ebays guidelines (other than the previous unknown rule about categories). Ebay has no justification for suspending my account and appear to be simply refusing to admit they are wrong in this matter.

I would be glad of any advice or assistance you may have to offer to help me overcome this injustice.

Here is a copy of my last email to ebay - "Message: My account suspension is entirely unwarranted. PLEASE REVIEW THE FOLLOWING FACTS. 1. Ebay did not notify me that it had removed my listings (they were listed in the wrong category but I did not know this at the time). All I saw were listings being removed WITHOUT ANY COMMUNICATION FROM EBAY. 2. Your last investigator FALSELY (and I emphasize the word FALSELY) accused me of re-listing my items after I was told not to. If your investigator simply read the next line of conversation they would have realised that I re-listed my items BEFORE the conversation took place. I AM NOT PSYCHIC and I cannot follow instructions before they are issued.

"3. My suspension appears to be because I re-listed my items after eBay removed them. As I HAD NO IDEA who had removed my listings OR WHY they were removed IT WAS PERFECTLY REASONABLE for me to re-list my items. I was after all loosing money and AS FAR AS I KNEW AT THE TIME I HAD DONE NO WRONG. 4. As soon as my listings disappeared I contacted eBay to find out what was going on. My initial belief was a malicious third party was removing my listings and I contacted eBay under the heading of Unauthorised Account Activity. Nobody at eBay could tell me what was going on until after my account was suspended.

"5. THERE IS NO SUGGESTION THAT I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO DEFRAUD EBAY IN ANY WAY. My items were simply listed in the wrong category but eBay DID NOT inform me of this nor did eBay give me any opportunity to correct the mistake. I have been unfairly punished by eBay largely due to eBay?s TOTAL MISMANAGEMENT of the entire affair from beginning to end. My last communication to eBay wasn't even answered. Your investigations have been slap dash and hopelessly inaccurate. I HAVE ACTED WITH INTEGRITY THROUGHOUT yet eBay has been completely unprofessional, inflexible and unreasonable. I feel fully vindicated in asking for my account to be reinstated."

I have not received a reply and I know of no way to take this matter further. Ebay is entirely obstructive when it comes to complaints and small traders such as myself do not have the means to challenge them in court. I would be grateful for any help you can give me in this matter. The consequences are admittedly small at about $US 150 per month (one month has elapsed already) but the principle remains that I am being unfairly prevented from trading. I have also lost my ebay feedback rating which took me three and a half years to build up.

I have had a store on Ebay now for just under a year but have been doing business on Ebay for the last 7 years under a previous account I closed myself (for no Ebay reason). My feedback was 900+ positive, 1 negative. I sell metaphysical items and jewelry. Over the last few months I have had my ads pulled for everything from keyword spamming (if you list that you have other things in your store and are specific about it.. they consider that keyword spamming?) they said that I am not allowed to list things in my auction that would draw people to my store... WOULDNT that be the point? to circumventing fees and so on and so forth. My store HAD more than 500 items listed, and thanks to Ebay fees of almost $500+ a month, I was breaking even.

I decided to keep doing what I loved to do but start a new Ebay account and sell other things that bring in a little more money. Things I saw MANY others selling. So I started selling DVDs on the new account. The first couple sold, then they started pulling one certain one (cant remember what it was to start) saying others reported it looked fraudulant. I thought that kind of odd since all of my auctions were listed exactly the same but only certain ones were being pulled. I asked for help... of course because of safety concerns they cannot help.

I relisted them a different way, coping the wording from other ebayer auctions that were NOT being pulled. YET they still got pulled. Finally they just started pulling everything. Then suspended my account. At first they said I could not open a new account. Then I received a notice saying that I was no longer allowed to use ANY account on Ebay nor any one associated with me. So needless to say I was not overly shocked when ebay put a 7 day restriction of listing new auctions on my original business account, even if it is listed under my husbands name.

I emailed them to find out what was going on since they never sent any notice to my original business as to why this happened. The suspension started last Saturday. I have emailed them 3 times. NO response. Of course you cannot call them, if you call back the number they call you from it is locked so you cannot get through. I tried the live chat... GOOD LUCK ON THAT!

My mother calls me Thursday night saying that Ebay has INDEFINATELY suspended their accounts there for being associated with mine. One account my father has been using for 7 years. They received no warning or notice except they were indefinately suspended. And Ebay refuses to talk to them or fix it.

My store was indefinately suspended last night. Now my customers are contacting me because Ebay notified them of me not being a registered user, and told them not to complete payment to me for the items they won. YET, I know they will charge me those fees. I have never... EVER receive a relisting fee credit. I find it very odd and suspicious that Ebay, allows only certain ppl to sell things on ebay and do not allow others to sell the same things.

I had no long lasting damage unless you include the over 1000 customers I am losing because of Ebay's actions. My parents loss of their accounts. The hundreds of dollars I have lost in Fees just for Ebay not to list my auctions until 4 - 8 hours AFTER I submitted them and my paid for time started, or the hundreds of dollars I paid and did not receive credit for on relisting credits. Or the hundreds of hours I have put in listing items and creating my store just for them to decide to take it away.

I have been a seller on eBay for over 9 years and have over those years had many objections to incidents and/or changes as well as my attempt for almost a year now to get what has now been two PowerSeller Managers to go over what I felt to be discrepencies in my account without it ever having been addressed.

The last time I did get a manager to put me in touch with an account tech about 2-3 years ago, I spent two or more hours on the phone with him to in the end result have him tell me it's a glitch and all works out in the end, it's my money, I needed then and I need now a better explanation than that or for ebay to at least have a system that would allow the average individual to better follow their account but at month end, 00:00:00 the account page does such screwy things I could never describe it and most assuredly can't follow it to my satisfaction.....

Up until May of 2007 eBay had a standard feeback system where buyers were afforded the right to leave sellers feedback based on their perceived performance or lack thereof with sellers afford that equal right. In May of 2007 eBay inserted a star system which allowed buyers to anonymously leave comments relating to Item as described when a large number of eBay buyers never even read the item description, to comment on communication when in my 9 years selling online at least 5 out of every 100 dealt with can't spell the most simple of words or put a proper sentence together and wouldn't understand the definition of communication if their live's depended on it.

eBay further allowed these anonymous individuals to comment on shipping time when a number of purchasing individuals have absolutely no concept. I've had buyers leave me negative comments in the standard feedback forum when they've paid on a Friday night, they live 2,500 miles away and the package isn't there by Moday or Tuesday when I couldn't even ship a UPS ground package until the next business day which would be a Monday if payment had been received on a Friday evening, I can't imagine how many have left the sneak comments in the star system that doesn't allow the seller to know who may be leaving that lacking rating.

Finally, the last star criteria allows the buyer to comment on shipping charges, a buyer who has no concept, a buyer who may leave a comment through this star system re: the seller's ship charges based on simple general ignorance or possibly based on the ship charges of another seller who is equally ignorant and has no concept of actual cost of ship, cost of packaging materials, etc. The USPS has raised rates 2-4 times in the past 4 years, UPS not only does it yearly but fuel surcharges are constantly updated yet there are sellers of the same product I sell on eBay who haven't raised their ship rate once through all of it in those 4 years. What they do with respect to that is their business, when I see 4 1/2 stars rather than 5 in my anonymous star rating system it becomes my business as it most assuredly affects my business, I'm just not sure to what degree.......

All of this was bad or ignorant enough, I voiced my objections as I understand a multitude of other sellers did when this system was set in place but eventually I had to just shake my head and move on but now eBay as of last month is utilizing that criteria as well as a given seller's feedback rating along with a few other citeria I'm not quite clear on to determine where a given seller's items might show in eBay listings. As an example, I had an auction that was ending 8 minutes from the time I checked it this evening yet it was placed 10-12 auctions down the page of identical items being listed by other sellers, some of those listings not ending for 3-4 days. I find this to be completely unfair if not illegal for lack of a more appropriate word as I'm being punished for not filling out criteria such as make, driver, material, etc. in an area eBay came up with a couple of years ago that I already describe either in my auction header, my listing text or in some cases both, because I haven't checked the return policy box when I already state a clear return policy within the text of my listings.

Last but not least, both my feedback which is at 99.1 which means less than 1 in 100 have left me a negative comment, the less than 1 in 100 who haven't the common sense given a fly who simply lacked the mental capacity to grasp, comprehend or understand that which the other 99.1 in 100 could along with this star rating determine where my auctions fall in the listing order.........Now, as of May 18, 2008 eBay states sellers will no longer have the ability to leave negative feedback for buyers while the buyer can not only still leave the standard negative feedback but they still have that anonymous star system to further damage a seller's reputation, all of this being part of the criteria eBay now uses for listing placement.

Among other things that scare me half to death about this new what I feel to be totally unfair system, I sell internationally, many of them large orders in the near $1,000 range after ship fees are accounted for. The eBay seller has no recourse through PayPal, owned in part or in full by eBay for shipments to an unconfirmed address which is the case with most international destinations as those address can't be confirmed per PayPal criteria which has been bad enough, scary enough up to this point but now, after a thief international member gets wind of the fact the seller can't leave a negative comment, I fear the day will come when at least one international buyer will just take my product and run fearing nothing..........

The crtieria for where an auction fell used to be time ending soonest and since I pay heavy fees for listing and final value, it's the only fair placement........Thanks for your time, believe it or not, I've just touched the surface.

Ebay pulled my auction because in my title was the words 'Like New'. I complained and they said it violated their policy. I stated that over 20000 other Ebay auctions used the same wording - they downplayed this and said it was only possible that other auctions used or were using the same wording. It took me about 30 seconds to find these auctions. They refused to bend.

I can no longer trust Ebay. They knowingly do not care if they adhere to their own policies. I am considering ending my on-line business with them, and I am very stressed out over this.

A ebay customer has absolutely no real recourse when problems occur becuase there is only virtual service. There are no phone contact numbers and no humans to talk to to. My company was winning bidder in an auction for some Apple computer hardware. We were contacted by the seller and given instructions where to send a personal check since our company pay-pal account was not yet activated. I thought this was all kosher since it was through ebays internal system. He says he will call us with mailing info. This being our very first transaction on ebay I figured this was okay. A few days go by and no equipment shows up.

So I email the seller. Nothing. I try to email ebay through the trust and security center (what a joke!) but it's like navigating a frigg'n maze of leading questions where you don't ever get your own concerns addressed. Rather you are forced to chase down details that you have no ability to get through he ebay system. Finally I get an email from ebay stating the transaction and auction was null and void with NO further explanation.

Then a few hours later a possible fraud notice arrives. It appears somebody may have hijacked a sellers account and was having us do payment outside the ebay system. All though ALL communication occurred with-in ebay. Also with no further explanation. Other than a link to the same Trust and Security Center crap as before. Which asks for Seller information that ebay doesn't let me have access to! Let me get this straight. The Seller that YOU alert me is a fraud you won't even give me their user ID number and information you demand I know? What? So we cancel our check. Which appears like it hasn't been cashed. However you can't be 100% sure. Not only that, since we had set up a credit card as a back-up payment system through ebay - did this guy get money through that? I have no way of knowing through ebay.

So we track down our credit card company and they say they're not sure. Great. So do we have to cancel our credit card now too? In the mean time I get more email from the seller THROUGH EBAY telling me he was sending my stuff and thanks for payment. So is this guy the scam artist or what? he couldn't have gotten payment because we canceled the check. Or did he. I try yet again to get a hold of ebay. There are no phone numbers. There are only live help people that you text chat with. And let me tell you this is worthless because they can't tell you anything and it takes forever.

All they say is: Report it to the police. Report WHAT to the police. I don't know if anything has happened? Did this guy access MY ebay acount through Phishing? Did he get financial info off our check somehow? I can give the cops the address we sent the check. But is that the scam artist or that the legitimate seller? Ebay doesn't tell you. I have no idea at which point during the transaction this fraud happened. And again this seller keeps emailing me through ebay telling me he is working it all out.

Unknown $$$ for s potential stolen identity. $1900 for the Apple computer, maybe. So far 12 hours of my time which I bill out at $100 per hour. This is problem. I don't even know.

I recently won a bid for a travel trailer and since bringing it home a month ago, it has had nothing but problems. The slide on the unit is sleaking and the seller claims that he never had problems with that. After pulling it apart & taking it for service, it was determined that the slide is in danger of falling apart and has major structural damage and hasn't just happened in the month that we've owned it. Now, the cost to repair it is going to be b/w $3K - $4K maybe even more. We bought it for $10K, and refuse to put anymore money into it since it won't be worth it at $14K.

The seller won't do anything about it since he apparently didn't know (which is a crock), he knew all too well. Now, after filing a claim with ebay's VPP, I don't feel at all confident that the claim will be approved. Now, I need to get two estimates (RV dealers aren't as plentiful and available like car dealers), and wait to be denied. I've been reading nothing but negative outcomes on a lot of buyer situations. When someones says buyer beware, please take that into consideration. Ebay doesn't do anything to assist the buyer except help communicate the seller -- which is pretty much useless. They are NOT on the side of the buyer, and are only interested in collecting fees. Genius idea ebay is but in my opinion, morality nor ethics exist in that company. So basically, we're out $10K for a trailer that's useless unless we put in another $4K to have it fixed, until something else goes wrong. So, don't buy anything off ebay, you're playing Russian Roulette each time.

Economic damage? In this day and age? Let's see, out $10,000, probably will be out another $3K - $4K because we didn't go to an RV dealer. Never thought I'd say this but I wish we had bought a unit from a dealer. Lesson for me, never trust anyone again.

My experience is similar to Thomas' from GA. I purchased 11 items from thecellshop on ebay. I tried twice to pay through Pay Pal, but something was wrong with the seller's account. I sent the seller an email alerting it to the problem (never got an answer), and persisted the next day and was allowed to pay. When I had not received any acknowledgement of payment from the seller in a week, I wrote to them again, asking the status of my order. Still no response. I next contacted ebay, but was informed it was too early to file a dispute.

I went out of town for a few days and, on my arrival home, found the seller had filed 11 different disputes against me! I wrote to the seller a third time, but, of course, received no response. I checked Pay Pal, and my payment was there in my history. I checked the item's page on ebay, and there it stated the item had been paid for! I responded to one dispute, giving the exact date and amount of my payment, along with an explanation that the same payment covered the other 10 disputes. Only the one dispute was closed.

Tonight I spent an inordinate amount of time explaining my situation to the ebay customer support people. Their only response was that it was my responsibility to enter all the data on each of the other 10 disputes. They did not respond to my question of what action would be taken against a vendor who took my money, did not send the merchandise, never responded to multiple emails, and then filed all these complaints against me. They had no response, because there are no checks and balances. You can bet that a seller does not have to send a 3 page form to report each item disputed. Ebay's assumption is that the seller is right, and the burden on the buyer. Not this buyer, not any more.

I have been waiting for my merchandise. I needed the PDA accessories to stay adequately in touch on my out of town trip. I have spent over 3 hours trying to resolve this matter.

Let me tell you about ebay. I purchased a book through ebay from this outfit, which is based in Canada (supposedly). I won the bid, and paid for the book immediately. After 6 weeks, no book. After sending them an email relating this, they responded that it usually takes about 9 days to send a package from Canada. This reply came after waiting 6 weeks. Another couple of weeks passed by, and when I sent them another complaint, the company finally said that there was no book coming, without any further explanation. I wanted my AMEX card credited for the purchase, but there was no indication that this outfit was going to do this. So I'll filed negative feedback against them. They persistently implored me to withdraw the feedback, and then they will refund my money! I told them that I would only withdraw the feedback when I see a credit on my AMEX statement since, at this point, they had no credibility with me.

They immediately filed negative feedback against me, saying I was rude and uncooperative! I could not believe this. So, the reason I am submitting comment here is this - I received an email from somebody called Square Trade, which apparently mediates these cases on behalf of ebay. The seller paid for this mediation, and I was required to submit my side of the story. By required, I mean to say that I also received notice from Square Trade that, if I did not respond, ebay would allow my negative feedback to be withdrawn! Withdrawn so that companies like edison can continue shafting ebay buyers who do not take the time to fight back, shifting the burden of their tactics onto the next unsuspecting buyer!

My conclusion is this - ebay is more interested in growing their business and making money off their sellers than truly protecting their buyers. Ebay has a long, complicated and impersonal process for handling trade disputes through their website. They place all of the burden on the buyer, and seem to care less whether it gets settled or not. After all, they need to keep their sellers happy, because that's where they make their money. So, the bottom-line is that I will NEVER use ebay again, and I would caution anyone that BUYER BEWARE has never been more strongly advised if you are considering doing any business on ebay. The responsibility of policing these sordid transactions should fall exclusively to ebay. But they are big enough, and popular enough, and profitable enough to know that one guy like me is of no concern to them. Aside from the fact that edison.financialgroup charged an exorbitant shipping rate for the book that I never received (and there are a number of similar complaints within their feedback history), the cost of this transaction only amounted to about $28.00. But it's the principle here upon which I am shedding light. The fact that a company can operate freely, and without recourse on ebay, as a valued seller, and blatantly rip people off, is unsettling and, frankly, unexcusable.

They closed 269 of my auctions claiming I was shill bidding, they would not reverse the fees. That was $40+ I had to pay for nothing, nevermind that I had nearly $200 in bids that they closed and notified everyone that I was in violation of their policy and not to do business with me if I were to contact them. Then they told me that the account that was bidding on my auctions had the same contact information I have, but due to privacy concerns they would not tell me who the other account was or what information was the same. If the information was the same, there would be no privacy being violated if we were the same person. I tried to get them to give me more information, but they just kept sending me canned responses about shill bidding and privacy and safety of eBay.

I think what happened is that I work at a club with public internet access. I used to tell customers about my auctions to drum up some business. I think someone used one of the computers at work to bid, the same computer I logged in on. Same IP address, hence linked accounts. And viola! eBay automatically thinks it's shill bidding. I tried to explain this to them, but they kept telling me that family members, roommates, friends, and employees are not allowed to bid on your auctions. None of those fit in my case, so they said co-workers. I gave up, they just didn't listen to me. It wasn't a co-worker either. It was someone who happened to come in to the club that day that I told about my eBay, no insider information was given. It was purely for business purposes only.

That doesn't matter, eBay won't listen to you when they link you and accuse you of shill bidding. Now they are watching my auctions. I swear they wait until there are bidders and the item ios about to close before they pull it. When they do, they don't refund the fees, give you no access to the bidders, won't allow you to relist it in most cases, the auction is deleted permanently and completely. It's like it never existed. Except for the fee you have to pay. It's not fair.

As an ebay customer I bought some items and had no problem. I decided to try my luck at selling 4 items on ebay. The items were a DVD, a metal tray, diamond ring and Thomas Kinkade painting. I listed the first 2 items with no problem. The next two items I listed but had trouble editing. I have 3 emails where I tried contacting ebay customer support for help with the edit functions. Ebay replies with automated emails including links. I also contacted live help but had the same thing. During this time I removed and relisted the 2 expensive items probably 2 or 3 times each until I was satisfied with the look of the page and descriptions. I did notice the fees go up but thought they would adjust to the correct amounts after I was finished trying to list my items successfully. None of my 4 items sold. The ring and painting had reserve prices of approx $3,000. The tray had a reserve price of $300 and the DVD approx $10.00. Ebay emails me a statement saying I owed $168.00. Considering the fees listed on ebay website I was shocked. The two expensive items have listing fees of $4.00 each maximum and states they do not charge final value fees if the items did not sell, which they didn't. I did have a couple of photo's of the ring and painting but the prices for additional pictures are very cheap.

By my calculations, and considering it on the high side that my 4 items were incorrectly listed twice each, say 8 times is $32.00 @ $4.00 per item with a reserve over $500.00. Add additional photo uploads at say $1.00 each, = $8.00 equals a grand total of $40.00 I owe ebay. How ebay came to $168.00, and using ebay's fee schedule, is beyond me. When ebay emails you a statement it only lists the balance due, there is no breakdown of how ebay arrived at the balance. Numerous attempts to email customer service, I also tried calling gave me no response. Now for many weeks a collection agency called I.C. Systems continues to call my house using 2 different caller ID numbers plus blocked call, they have also been calling my cell phone. I did talk to them and was transferred by a male, after me telling him I wanted to talk to someone as I dispute the ebay charges, I then spoke to a female.

I explained what I have said here and the person who did not give her name repeatedly parroted that I should just get you billfold out and write a check for $174.01, this is the latest ebay charge I guess. This morning I.C. Systems called again, I confirmed my name then told the female that I was willing to negotiate a payment with ebay but was not paying $174.00 without written itemized proof I oew ebay that high amount. This person parroted my address, I asked her did she hear what I had said and was she willing to talk and negotiate, she them parroted my address again wanting confirmation of it, which to this point I would not say yes or no. She then told me she will just keep on calling, I told her I was not paying that amount, she repeated she will keep calling until I confirm my address (which they already have on file anyway). I have a witness to this phone call today.

Consequences for me are, being grossly overcharged for items that clearly state otherwise, frustrated ebay will not give out itemized statements of charges, harrassment on a continuous daily basis by I.C. Systems who are not interested in resolving the matter. Damage to my excellent credit score prior to this, which occurred November, 2007. Stress that a consumer like myself has no chance of fair trading when up against a giant like ebay and their collection agency staff who's sole job is to harrass into submission.

This was supposed to be a birthday present for my son's 22nd birthday. After I got the watch, I went to get it appraised. They noticed that the sapphire crystal had factory damage. It wasn't put in correctly. I then called the seller and told him about the problem. He told me to go to the service center and get it fixed for free. I went to the Manhattan service center and the secretary told me it will cost over $400. I told the seller and he told me he will get it fixed for me for free with the letter he will send out. I waited for this letter for over a month and no letter came. I called him and he told me to send the watch back and he will refund me back the full amount.

He took 15% of the refund for himself. I think this isn't right and I spoke to him about it. He was very rude and hung up a few times. Please help me because I'm in a very bad situation.

I lost $240 from the watch and $150 for transportation as well as $30 for the shipping.

Before I tell my experience, I wanted to share that usually I am not the type to sell anything I have unless I am going through some hard times then I finally decide what I don't use much and sell it to recoup some fund. When I am doing okay, I like to keep everything I own even if I don't use it as often as a person should. About two years ago after the merge/buyout of eBay-Paypal, I sold something on eBay and was billed for listing fee. At the moment, I did not have enough fund in my bank account and figured I would wait until my next paycheck (direct-deposit) before I pay for my listing fee. Well, eBay-Paypal went ahead and drafted the amount out of my account, creating additional unnecessary expenses such as Insufficient fund, putting me a step back than where I would like to be. I contacted eBay about this. They explained that when they went through a major overhaul, they set everything to default including automatic draft and instructed me how to change it to manual. So I did that...

Since then, I have sold few items (mostly video game while it still holds value) and had no problem paying listing fee manually including a couple of late fees. Now recently, I sold a game, and suddenly they drafted the amount out of my account automatically! Again, it is an insufficient fund, and it is $35 this time ($29 the first time). How did that happened if I never changed it to automatic? I strongly believe that eBay-Paypal is behind something, and they had NO RIGHT to change my account. I feel that this is illegal access to my account, changing my preference, for their financial gain. I believe it is unlawful, and it is NOT fair since eBay owns Paypal; and it is as if they can authorize everything easily!

I suffered financially twice and had to pay out Insufficient funds when I feel that it is NOT my responsibility both times. This contributed me to unable to pay other bills resulting in additional late fee because I need gas money to get to work for 2 weeks with high fuel prices at $3.35 per gallon. Also, I feel it is federal crime for eBay to modify client's financial preference by setting it to automatic and etc. Something fishy is going on!

I am a reputable seller on ebay. I sold a vintage 8mm projector on ebay. The woman received it and left me positive feedback. I left her feedback likewise. Next thing, she's emailing to tell me that she wants a refund for the projector because it is broken. I was shocked. I thought everything was o.k. I reminded her that she should have purchased insurance. She reported me to PayPal for selling her something significantly different.

PayPal made me refund her the entire amount, including shipping. My policies clearly states that we are not responsible if there is any damage in the mail. PayPal did not give me any seller protection at all. She sent me back the damaged item which was clearly in working condition when I mailed it. I lost around $50.00 as a result of this transaction.

Thus, my account was being assessed an additional $15.00 charge. I used eBay's on-line customer service chat line and, for three hours, tried to get an answer from five different agents about: 1. Why I was being charged 2 seller's fees (was one for PayPal?) and 2. Why an unknown credit card was being accessed. (I had last updated my profile on 1/19/08 to sell the one $20 item I had listed in the past year) None of the five agents, though unfailingly polite, addressed these two questions. Each explained that eBay passes on a fee that the bank charges for a denied fund request. One of the agents said she had reversed the $15.00 charge.

On 3/4/08, eBay sent me another email to notify me that I was being charged $15.00--this same charge again. I have exchanged emails with two more customer service agents, who both explained to me the same thing the first five told me in the chat room, but did not address my two simple questions. My six separate polite requests to speak with a supervisor were denied.

$17.15, if eBay manages to deduct the false charge from my last credit card number in my profile, plus 4 hours and 45 minutes trying to get answers from seven customer service agents.

I had started selling items on Ebay recently and have had nothing but bad experiences. The two items I did sell turned out to be frauds. Someone had hacked into two different people's ebay accounts and started bidding on everything. Unfortunately I had to also fall victim to these frauds because I was one of the sellers on two different occasions with two different buyers that they became winning bidders. One poor woman I found out had $150,000 in bids out there she never bid. I have another one right now I am watching closely. It seems that my top bidder is also compromised by a third party hacker. Because of my bad experiences I now look at what the bidder has purchased in the past to see if it matches in price or items of what I am selling. What I found was this bidder has her own ebay store, she is sixty years old, disabled and on a fixed income. There is no way I believe that she would go and purchase a platinum coin that I have for sale that is worth in the low thousands. Her Ebay ID is still the top bidder for this coin.

I contacted the security department through their contact email about this. It seems to have fallen on deaf ears because I never got a response back nor has her bid been removed by ebay. I find that ebay does nothing to help the innocent people out there who fall victims to these types of scams. I also believe that by ebay not having at least a phone number for people to call into to get their concerns answered is very unprofessional. Their lack of response to serious inquirers like the above instances shows their lack of integrity as a company. I would recommend to all if you are going to continue to use ebay as a forum to sell or buy to be very careful. I will be looking for different avenues to sell my products as I can no longer trust the security or integrity of Ebay.

Why does a company of this size seem to think they can bully people around and make them feel like criminals? Because they are a corporation that doesn't have to worry about the satisfaction of their customers? Their only concern is that they get their money. The final bid came in at $1,600 more than my reserve price. Once I sent an email invoice to the winning bidder it was 3 minutes later that I get an email from e-bay stating my listing had been removed due to a bidder (not the winning bidder) had not authorized the bid and it was done through a third party. They stated in the email that they were trying to attempt to restore that bidders account access. It also stated that I would have to start from scratch and re-list my item. This is very suspicious since first it was not the winning bidder that the so called unauthorized bid came from. Second the so called bidder in question had put something up for sale of his own just one hour prior to the close of my listing and was still listed 12 hours after the incident. Third the response time from my sending an invoice through the E-Bay system to the final bidder and the actually removal of the listing due to a bidder not authorizing his bids is too fast under any circumstances. The other problem I had was when I tried to email someone my concern as to how this happened all I got back was how to change my password, retrieve my password, or report unauthorized use of my account. This makes me believe that E-Bay did me wrong and I do not even know why.

I lost 7 days worth of time put into the listing and waiting for the final results plus $3,000 loss in profit that would have happened from the sale.

Actually, it is the same seller fee five times. eBay continues to respond to the problem with form letters saying it's not their fault, but PayPal's, that eBay keeps requesting and collecting this fee over and over again. But since the request comes from eBay and the money goes to eBay, this is an eBay problem. eBay's use of irrelevant scripted responses and the near impossibility of actually reaching a real, genuinely honest and responsible representative make this situation even worse. In a couple of eBay's emails they instruct me to write to service@ebay.com. If you try it right now you will see that your email is returned. And eBay appears to have no phone number. He knew he could not win the items because they had a reserve on them. I do not know if he knew it would get me kicked off. I think he was just messing with me maybe. Anyway, there was no warning and no way to plead my case. I called but they said I had to email security. I did that and got a form letter back. It is very frustrating!

It took me weeks to get all those items listed. I cannot even bid on anything! In the form letter it said if I took a survey I would be able to re-list my items. Not only will that take many many hours of time but I will have to pay all their fees again! I am disabled and used ebay to make some extra money to make ends meet. If not for my sales I would have to give up eating or taking my medication as I could not afford both. I did not make that much money and maybe they do not care about the little person but it is not fair! I do not like to be accused of something I did not do and not even be able to defend myself! Is there no justice for the little guy anymore? How can we fight a big conglomerate that is not even reachable? I even tried to tell them about a scam that is going around on ebay. They held a seminar here in Fort Worth to find out how to do it. They do not seem to care about the thieves on ebay! Can you help me?

Loss of income to live on! I do not get enough money on my disability to buy food and medication! I have paid fees for all the items I had listed. At least $100 not to mention the weeks it took me to get them listed. Taking pictures and writing up the auction takes a long time!

I told Ebay that since I had been the victim of identity fraud before (I was robbed of 56,000 ($110,000) then I was unhappy to have my personal details on display. In any other selling forum the consumer decides what the rest of the paying public gets to see. Not so with Ebay. Second, they decided to suspend me again because they suggested an account of mine is linked to a banned account. Not true. On both occasions, Ebay reinstated me, but when they re-banned me, they waited until I had completed re-listing my items. So, I spent 40 re-listing my stock only for them to ban me again. That is 40 thrown away, twice. I will never see those fees again. They know there are no other serious competitors and as such, they can act however they feel. The main worry is that Ebay will act on a complaint and not even ask me my opinion or for any evidence what-so-ever before deciding to ban me.

My small business is on the edge of failure. Through ebay I managed 10 sales per day. This is far more than I sell through my own website and is enough to sustain my small business. Without ebay I will go under. The ebay sales forum is huge and I need it.

I noticed with fear that I would be over-drawn, as Ebay had taken out $75.00 A few weeks ago I emailed Ebay and received an email from Ebay saying that bank and or card (debit) would NOT be used. As I spoke with Dan, Dan even said that that was in my acct. Dans' supervisor, however, even after I explained over and over--had the attitude: too bad, we got it now. This was unfair practice done to me, and just because Ebay is so big, does that mean that they can get away with unfair practices?

I was overdrawn for bank acct.; overdrawn fees should go to Ebay.

Also, they charged me fees for auctions they cancelled when they suspended my account, and I was unable to request a final value fee for an item that was unpaid and pending crediting to my seller account.

First of all, the suspension is unjustified and should not be legal. I was charged $77 of fees for services I didn't receive.

I asked them to explain how or what makes the product they sent better and what makes it worth $20.00 more. After looking at the specs for this product, it is definitely not a better product and doesn't reach a high temperature and performs inferior to what I originally ordered. Manon Spring never responded to my request for an explanation, they just told me, "no, I am not going to send you the piastra mini". Then they said it was no longer available, howerver I still saw it on their e-bay store for several weeks after. They didn't notify me as to weither I wanted an alternate product or not.

I lost time in trying to resolve this with them as well as having to send the product back and search elsewhere for it. I am currently waiting for my credit card refund. Thank you,

I purchased an item from Naybrothers on Ebay, but the seller initially sent me the wrong item; a Robocop toy rather than the professional speaker stands I won on the Ebay auction. Rather than send the toy back to him, the seller asked me to send it to the correct buyer and promised to pay the shipping charges. The seller then sent me my speaker stands and I have no problem with that. The problem is that the seller is now refusing to pay me the shipping charges for doing him a favor and forwarding the toy item to his buyer because he claims they were too high. I have already communicated many times with the seller and he has refused to honor his promise. Since this happened in the Ebay environment, I believe that Ebay must at least look this case over and decide whether they want Ebay to be associated with this type of dishonest behavior. I am requesting that Ebay require the the seller to honor his promise made under the auspices of Ebay and reimburse the shipping charges of $33.56 I incurred by doing him a favor and sending his Robocop toy to the correct buyer.

Ebay and PayPal have both stated that this situaltion is out of their jurisdiction despite the fact that the whole thing took place on their sites. Just a warning, buyer beware.

My bank returned the funds to me; but still, after having sent ebay an e-mail regarding the theft and the $50 dollars in funds, I have not been able to retrieve from my pay pal. I have not heard from them. I searched ebay's web site trying to find a live voice to talk with concerning my accounts, to no avail. I logged on to ebay's Live Help link and still only received more e-bay links with no live help. Ebay has no telephone numbers on its website for members to call regarding payment disputes, and that is not right.

I am unable to talk with Ebay, and they have sent my account to collection. Please help. I believe the consumer needs to be informed of Ebay's lack of communication regarding account payment disputes. I should have been able to talk with someone regarding my account. When my funds was stolen, if I did not have funds in another acct. it would have been a financial disaster for me. Consumers need to be informed about Ebay's flawed security system, and how someone breached it in my case. Something needs to done about their putting account users in collection, yet denying them an opportunity to speak live with someone regarding a disputed account. I feel I can't adequately settle my dispute with them if I can't talk with them.

I have put many art pieces up for auction on ebay. I just logged in to see the number of bids on my auctions when I received notification I've been blocked and my account closed. They did not state the reason for the close. The problem is that I sold a piece couple days earlier for $255. I am now out this sale and there is no guarantee the piece will bring the amount listed. Also the other pieces I had for sale, including a rare Hale Gurland listed starting at $10,000. His prints are known to go for tens of thousands and his sculptures for hundreds of thousands. Those buyers who have been watching those items are now notified that my account is closed and makes me look like an unreputable seller. Not to mention also all the money I've paid to have my online website made up for that ebay user name (the-artful-spotters)

My business of selling art of all kind was based off of ebay. Since ebay's irrational behavior I have no means of operating my e-business. So far the economic damages are the one sold item for $255. Though all of the listed items especially my rare Hale Gurland could have pulled tens of thousands. I had only just opened this account days earlier and even verified my bank account with paypal. Now I feel ebay has ruined my businesses reputation with the buyer community. I'll have to research similar circumstances to get an exact figure for damages.

I am a prolific buyer and seller on ebay. I have 2 buyer accounts and 1 seller account. In one of my buyer accounts, I bought about 70 items from three companies. However, these three companies were all inter-related and offered to combine all my items from all of them so that I could receive a shipping discount. Shipping discounts are a big deal on Ebay and help to greatly reduce the cost of purchasing. Nonetheless, after I bought the items I requested that they combine them for reduced shipping prior to payment. However, no response was received. A week later, they began to demand payment through the Ebay dispute form. Per ebay's policy, I communicated with them and let them know that I was simply waiting for a combined invoice. Next thing you know, Ebay shut all three of my accounts down!

When Ebay shuts an account down that means all the items that you were selling are removed, you cannot contact your buyers, you cannot get access to any of the items you purchased or anything of the like. Even worse, they do not have a phone number you can call or anyway to immediately have your accounts restored. If that is not bad enough, when they remove the items that you sell they cannot relist them with the touch of a button. The items are lost and you better hope you have them saved elsewhere or your weeks or months of listing work is completely lost. So, essentially because I did not pay the three sellers from my one account, Ebay shut down all my accounts. What is sad is that I had 100% feedback in one account and higher than 99.5% feedback in my other accounts. I have extensive knowledge buying and selling jewelry on Ebay, I know all the scams they pull and all the fake merchandise they purposefully allow to slip through. Once I get my accounts squared away and my customers taken care of, I am getting far far away from ebay!

Originally, an auction had been posted on Ebay for a Garmin 670 GPS, and before bidding, I emailed the seller a few questions. Soon after, the auction was removed from eBay but the seller offered the product to me at the buy-it-now option. I investigated his background making sure to check his feedback and ratings. Everything seemed fine so I told him to proceed. I then received an email from eBay giving me instructions to wire money and offering me buyer protection.

I wired the $550, using Western Union, on 7/3/07 to the address the Ebay email had provided. Once I contacted the seller to verify the wire had been sent, he emailed back saying he would deliver the product upon receipt of payment. Since he was very prompt in responding to my emails, I became worried when I had not heard from him by the following day.

I wrote him again on Wednesday and Thursday, and by Friday (7/6/07) I knew something was wrong and began searching the eBay site for help. I found an email address to their Fraud Customer Service Dept and forwarded them the email I had originally received from eBay. They replied writing that the email had not been sent from their company and had been fabricated by the seller. I was told to file a police report with local authorities which I did on 7/6/07. I also called Western Union the same day to file a complaint and submitted my case/information to www.ic3.gov, www.econsumer.gov, FTC, and the attorney generals office.

Ebay did research my case and responded that illegal activity took place on the owner's account without the member's knowledge. Since the email that had been sent to me originally offering buyer protection was fraudulent, eBay can not provide any refund. Currently, I'm working with a detective at the Philadelphia Police Dept as instructed by Ebay and Western Union. As of last week, the detective informed me that neither Western Union nor Ebay would provide a refund. All other organizations I have contacted have also responded by basically saying: we'll log it, but can't help you.

I never was refunded for the money sent. I used a money order. I don't feel that buyers do have any protection. When I filed a complaint with Ebay, they did nothing to resolve my issue. They basically let this seller off the hook so she can scam people again. If there are so many limitations to the buyer's protection policy, in reality consumer's then have no real protection.

I have sold on ebay for 6+ years. I was checking on my auctions and found that all of my auctions had been cancelled because of shill bidding. I called customer service for 3 days straight to find out what had occurred. Ebay is the master of giving you the run around but no information. First I waited on the phone line to talk to someone for at least 3-5 minutes each time. The first man I got said he couldn't tell me why my account was shut down because then I would know how to get around the system. He told me he couldn't help me anyway because I needed to talk to the security area which can only be reached by email!

I did email security-twice and got no reply from them. I called customer service again-got the same answer. Yes my account had been shut down for shill bidding but he couldn't discuss the details. I asked to talk to a supervisor and was connected to a voicemail. I called back and told the Ebay person that unless I could talk to a real live supervisor I would take out a one page ad in the paper outlining how Ebay abuses its sellers without giving them any explanation for it.

Finally I talked to a real person that told me that my daughter who lives in a different city, has her own ebay account and has also sold and bought on ebay for 4-5 years had committed a giant no no in ebay's eyes and bid on one of my auction items over 2 weeks ago. She had placed one bid of $16 on an item that was currently at $12. The item ended up to sell for $46 after 5 more bids- none of which my daughter had placed.

I guess I and my daughter both were ignorant but did not know that ebay forbids any family members from bidding on another family member's items. This was clearly not shill bidding because my daughter's bid did in no way aid me in getting a higher price for my item. It was a simple mistake and ebay jumped on us because somewhere in the past we had the same address-otherwise they had no way of connecting us. So we obviously became people that they could jump on because they have gotten so much flack lately because of real shill bidding.

That is the crux of the problem with Ebay. They have problems that they don't know how to fix like shill bidding so they create lousy software and broad rules to punish the wrong people when the real culprits go free. My auctions are shut down for 14 days because I didn't realize a simple rule about ebay- It's not ebay that you sell on its OBEY.

Ebay is driving me crazy! I am a homemaker and sell my children's clothing on Ebay at the beginning of each season. I began listing my daughter's clothing last week, only to have my account restricted for no valid reason.

The day before, they deleted one of my listings because I had put Like New in the title. I receive this email about counterfeiting, etc. etc. I sort of did not pay attention, and just relisted it without the Like New. I did do a search on Ebay under clothing and 5,284 listings came up with the Like New in the title.

The next day I had put in a couple of listings, and then a notice came up that my account was being restricted. It is so frustrating because I have sent emails explaining that I have been a member for years, only sell my children's clothing at the beginning of the season, have a 100% rating, etc. etc. - only to fall on death ears. Their emails state there is nothing I can do and maybe in a few months, they will lift the restriction. I have waited 4 months to sell at the beginning of Fall, only to have my account restricted.

The really frustrating part, I don't even really know for sure why my account was restricted, or for how long. I can only speculate it is because of the Like New thing. They say at this time they cannot determine a time - like I was some criminal. If they do not tell me specifically what I did, how can I make sure I never do it again?

I am not a bad person, but to be honest, I have taken this personally and I feel like a piece of trash at the moment. I loved Ebay - I usually spent the money I made from other Ebayers. Today - Ebay has brought me to tears.

It's almost like - so what - we have tons of customers - you mean nothing to us. Even Empires fall - don't they?

Thank you for letting me vent somewhere. Even big businesses need customers don't they? Right now they are too big for their britches.

Six separate buyers have used PayPal to pay. Their money still sits in my account and now I am wondering whether I should refund their money or wait until this matter is cleared up.

From reading others' accounts listing a similar problem with eBay, I fear this issue will never be remedied.

eBay says in their form letter to me that I am not allowed, under any circumstances, to use eBay's services, yet they want my seller's fees, which amount to about $160. In the meantime, I am out about $2,000 in sales.

When I did this, the Customer Service rep repeatedly told me that my address info listed on eBay did not match my credit card info nor did it match my VISA DEBIT CARD info. This is totally incorrect, as I have been using my credit card and debit card repeatly with no problem and my billing information is the same for everything. eBay totally refuses to help remedy the situation, continually telling me that the error is on my side and not theirs.

Finally, I attempted to use my personal checking account. That went through but then I was told by eBay in an email that there was also a problem with the address information for my checking account and I cannot use this option either. eBay has become totally impossible to deal with. Everything is the buyer/seller fault and eBay is NEVER AT FAULT!

I accessed a live auction on ebay and purchased merchandise. It was absolutely junk and I immediately returned the items. That was several months ago and I have not been able to obtain a refund. The seller is no longer an ebay participant. My complaint is that ebay allowed their site to be used without properly qualifying the auctioner--and allowed them to live auction at that. Also, they make it very difficult to complain. Their dispute template doesn't allow a complaint about not getting a refund when items are returned. They are only concerned about not receiving the merchandise or if it is not as described. One has to be VERY careful when using ebay. That being said, I've had some very good experiences there. It's just like the saying, when it's good, it's very very good and when it's bad it's horrid.

I contacted ebay.com in hope to buy a motorcycle. I found one that I liked and pressed the buy it now button. I signed in to ebay to buy the bike. I received an email from ebay saying they recommend the seller and that the transaction would be covered by ebay's buyer protection plan. Feeling secure that I had ebay standing behind the deal, I followed the instructions for payment.

After wiring the funds i waited for the bike to show up. It never did. I was in constant contact with the seller and with ebay throughout the deal. I thought I was in good hands and protected from anything going wrong. I was wrong. I contacted ebay and they tell me the transaction took place outside of ebay and that I wasn't protected by their policy. There was nothing they could do.

I contacted the FBI to report ebay and the scam I was a victim of. Nothing was done. I contacted the attorney general. Nothing was done. I contacted the bank to try to trace the account where the money was sent. I didn't have the authority. I lost $8,800 in this scam and nobody cares.

I'm sure there are many others that lost the same amount of money in the same scam, but no one is doing anything. Ebay is aware of this scamming going on in their site, but they don't monitor their site to keep these scumbags out so honest people can make an honest deal. I want it to be known by the world that ebay is only interested in covering their own ass when it comes to this and that they don't stand behind the people getting ripped off on their site.

Tell me they don't know this sort of thing happens all the time. Tell me they don't know who is doing it either. Ebay is a big powerful company with many lawers to protect them. What about the little guy? Can you do something about this?

I received a bill in the mail from a collection agency associated with EBAY for money I didn't owe them since I never have had an account with EBAY nor have I ever purchased anything from them either.

Spoke with collection representative who alledgedly assured me that the problem would be corrected. But why is it that I have the feeling this is now pasted into my credit report????

I paid for 6 items which I did not receive. 5 were PayPal and the 6'th was not PayPal but I sent a cashier's check.
At the advice of eBay I also sent my cell phone number.
I have filed through PayPal on 5 items and received refund for one only.
The seller of the kerosene heater pappygol claimed to have not received my money.
I provided proof of payment to eBay and to seller.

Mr Goldner then proceeded to threaten myself and my sister (who lives in Ohio). These threatening messages were forwarded by eBay. I complained to their Security Dept and sent copies of the e-mails.

Nothing was done by eBay about either the Item Not Received or the harassment and threats complaints, both with proof sent to eBay.
However, the seller filed an Unpaid Item complaint and I was given an Unpaid Item Strike.
Furthermore, Mr Goldman continued to send e-mails and eBay did nothing. In fact EBAY FORWARDED THEM!

My repeated requests to close my account were ignored! Or denied!

Another seller insisted on a money order and refused a cashier's check or any method which provided proof of payment. And eBay AGAIN hit me with an unpaid item strike!
