On two separate occasions, like the other sellers complaints I read, Ebay cancelled my husband's account even though he did nothing wrong. I'm beginning to think this is an epidemic, as I constantly see ads listed in classified for people to sell stuff for others on Ebay, I'm guessing for the same reason. Ebay is shooting themselves in the foot, on this one and I really don't understand how they can take honest people's accounts away and offer no explanation. My husband too has tried to contact them numerous times and they offer him no explanation.
I think it's a scam and I'm going to report them to the Better Business Bureau. Those of us who are erroneously being kicked off for no reason should start our own auction website. I will never buy anything from them again, and also encourage others to do the same.
We have lost the opportunity to sell off multiple objects that were handed down to us. We desperately need the money and basically are living hand to mouth right now. I have health issues and was looking for something like an Ebay way to make money, to help bring money in. We are not making it off one salary and Ebay was an opportunity for us to finally be able to at least break even.
It's easy for these millionaires to just cut people off when they are not suffering. If I could go after them legally, I would. These people, for all their fancy commercials (and not really good ones at that), don't really know the first thing about customer service. Bad form!

I am an Irish citizen who has been living in Beijing China for the past two years.I have a credit card and an account in my bank back in Ireland, which I use when needed. I recently signed to ebay and of course they insisted that I use paypal, as most of the sellers will only deal with you if you use paypal, ebay and paypal are of course thre same company. I bid for and won some items. Keen to impress, I immediately wanted to pay for them. Paypal froze my account, stating some unusual activity. whatever! They then asked me to provide documentation to help unfreeze my account.
I would have left at this stage if it wasn't for the fact that I had told my son that I had managed to find a game he had wanted, so I sent them what they wanted. They then wanted proof of address, I explained that they had already confirmed that I had a valid card and bank account, what did they want my address for?
Furthermore, who the hell were they? Not a bank.just a service. They refused to unfreeze my account until I produce my proof of address. I informed them that I live in Beijing, they know, and everything here is written in Chinese (surprise!) They insisted that my proof of address must be legible,to which I aske dthem if they could read Chinese! All i get is automated mail replies.Meanwhile ebay is sebding me PAY NOW emails for the items I won, HOW CAN I YOU MORONS??

The seller was paid $727 - but we never received the item! He is no longer an Ebay registered user. The $727 is lost. That was money needed at Christmas and to make credit card payment - which is now late.

I never received the item. eBay tells me I purchased the item outside of eBay and they are not responsible for my loss. They say that someone stole Edward T's account. They knew about it and took care of him, but not any of the buyers. I want my money back. I don't care what they say. I bought the item thru eBay and Square Trade. This is just another way they get out of holding their end of the deal. They only protect the seller, not the buyer.

I found out what the problem was. Ebay refuses to give law enforcement contact information about Ebayers even if they commit a crime. The FBI may be able to get the information but the Pekin PD could not. This means I am out the money. How many others are there like me? Ebay tells me, too bad -- you should have bought our insurance. What? So they are harboring crooks and unless you pay more money you will be taken and that is a shame. This Ebayer continues to operate and Ebay refuses to suspend his Powerseller account.

I believe he intentionally misrepresented the product with the intent to commit a fraudulent transaction. We will never trust or shop Ebay again and will warn others through word of mouth as well. I live in Texas and we can return a product within 3 days regardless of contracts. So what's a consumer to do in this situation?
My son was devastated. This was his first summer job work experience and he was very proud that he did not spend his paychecks and diligently saved for this first big purchase. The seller had great ratings and credibility according to Ebay. My son was going to use this for his college classes. $700.00 is a lot of money to lose; especially for a teenager. I would like to show him the consumer does have some rights and recourse and that we should fight for what is right and punish those that are corrupt and do wrong!

Rene was selling a package of 8 books on ebay. I won the auction. She contacted me by email told to send her a postal money order for the agreed amount plus postage. I did as told and informed her when I sent the money order. This was on Sept. 27. I have not heard from her since.

I was high bidder on an auction for a math textbook. My $30 bid was matched by another. E-bay rules are that if two bids are matched then the first one is the winner. No other bidder bid higher. E-bay bid automatically UP to $31 -- bidding myself up to $31 against my own $30 bid.
Have been through 3 different "support" personnel. Each has said they would help. None offered any help. Each only offered a lot of doubletalk as to why their system bid myself against myself. One admitted my $30 bid took precedence but did not offer to fix the problem. The last response provided their legal department contact info. I know it is only a dollar BUT I have checked around. Others have had the same experience and just paid the extra dollar to get the merchandise.
This is a common practice by ebay according to their explanation to me and others I have checked with. A dollar here and there through millions of transactions surely brings in countless dollars. They are aware of the problem and refuse to fix it.

I am extremely disappointed that neither Ebay nor Paypal wants to take responsibility for my issue: I purchased an item which was not at all as the seller described it. It was described as "in like-new condition" and in fact it is old, filthy and unwashed.
The seller admitted as much in an email to me. Yet, Paypal refuses to refund the money. I can only conclude from Paypal's response that Buyer Protection is a fraud and therefore they should not offer such bogus protection plans to customers when they are unwilling to honour it. Ebay idea of resolving this was to direct me to Square Trade, where I would have to pay $20.00 to get back $15.00.

I purchased a French Horn from a seller on Ebay and never received it. Purchase price was $1,100. This seller claimed that he had moved and not to use the address on Ebay to send payment to. Now Ebay claims that they have no responsibility for my loss. I did purchase from this seller before and everything went fine. I'm out $1100.00 and Ebay claims no responsibility for it.

Well, I was upset. It has been excuse after excuse -- she tells me she has 30 days to ship. I filed a complaint with ebay, they contacted her and she tells them that she doesn't want to use the Square Trade and ebay closes the case. Now I am out $211. I paid for something I can not seem to get.

Money out of my disability check. PayPal may come through and get my money back, but am very upset they wait and give the extra time to a crook. By 4-98-04 if the Seller does not resolve issue, PayPal will 'try' to get my money back.

Now another transaction has gone bad due to timing. Someone cashed a money order I sent 5.5 months after I sent it, I never recieved the product and eBay won't help because of it being after the designated allotted time to report it. They don't help at all.
Damages: Husband has no wedding ring. The one I purchased was sent two sizes too big plus a piece fell off of it. Ebay did little to resolve issue and cut me off. I am out over $400. Also, someone took my money order, claimed they couldn't cash a US money order in Canada, although the specifics stated US money order, the seller waited until months passed and told me to go to the post office and get issued a new one. I did. Then the post office sends me a due notice stating I cashed both of them. The seller went ahead and cashed the money order and did not send the product. I am out $26 and no product and eBay won't help because this swindler knew to wait past the eBay timelines to report complaints.

I was the Highest Bidder on. Sent money through paypal, $325.00 using a visa that my grandmother gave me permission to use. I never recieved the pentium III processor and never got a reply from the seller.
The processor was supposed to be a christmas gift for me, financed by my grandmother. I feel like an idiot because my family is asking if I have recieved the processor and I keep telling them it hasn't arrived. I really don't want to tell them because I want to avoid the "I told you so" attitude from them, I'm sorry that I ever trusted Ebay.

Let me preface my account by informing you that I'm a US citizen, however, at this time I am in Japan on business. At the time of the incident I am about to report to you I was in Japan as well. I will be here until July when I'll return to the US.
I won an aution on ebay on May 5, 2001 for an "authentic 32 cm ostrich skin Hermes Kelly bag." The amount of the winning bid was $3650. I contacted the seller via e-mail to set up payment. I requested a guarantee of authenticity of the bag and was assured it would be enclosed at shipment.
I sent payment via FED EX in the form of a personal check. The buyer agreed to confirm receipt of the check. He also promised to notify me when the check cleared his account. He said he would then ship the item immediately. When I received no response for a week I grew suspicious. I knew through my bank records that the check had been paid. I tried contacting the seller but got no response. I employed "Squaretrade," ebay's negotiation service. After approx. 2 weeks the seller emailed me and apologized for not answering my e-mails. He claimed to have been very busy. He stated that he had not been monitoring his bank account for receipt of the money as his bank had informed him that it would take at least 2 weeks for a USA check to clear his Canadian account. He informed me that there might be an additonal delay in clearing the check due to an upcoming bank holiday. But he assured me that he would confirm payment with me and notify me when the bag was shipped.
This was on or about May 18. Again, he did not confirm payment until I emailed him several times. He finally informed me that the check had cleared on or about May 24. He promised to send the bag on the following business day. When he did not contact me, I assumed the bag was in the mail and attributed the delay to Customs as the bag was coming from Canada to Japan. I e-mailed him when it had not arrived by the end of May. The seller never answered my e-mail.
The bag arrived on June 1. The shipping date was listed as May 28. When I compared it other Hermes bags I own I could see it was inauthentic, and I wanted to return it immediately. The guarantee that was enclosed with the bag made no mention of authenticity. It did make many other stipulations, however. The guarantee listed the purchase date as May 8, 2001 and stated that the item was returnable within 21 days of the purchase date only. Therefore, the guarantee had expired before the goods had even reached me for inspection. Furthermore, it stated that a request for return must be filed in writing with the seller before the expiry date. It also said the seller was not responsible for bank or mail delays in the shipment of the merchanise. In spite of this I sent a return request immediately to the seller via FED EX.
I asked V. Tucci to to be as fair and patient has I had been and please honor my request. I also e-mailed him promptly with a similar request and to notify him to expect the handwritten request the following business day. A woman named Janice who claimed to be from "customer service" responded to my email. She said despite the fact that my request would be received after the expiration date, she would process my request and give it to her superiors. She assured me they would assess the case and respond to me in two business days. I heard nothing after that.
Again, I employed Squaretrade to negotiate on my behalf since it had been effective initally when I could not reach the seller. Those efforts were futile. So I am stuck with a very expensive imitation Hermes handbag. I know of another person who was similarly defrauded.
I have paid $3650. for an imitation ostrich leather handbag I would estimate to cost $300. at most. I have been a nervous wreck about this since it happened. This is not an insubstantial amount of money for me. I do not make such purchases often and I saved a long time to amass that sum for a purchase like this. I am relatively new to ebay. But the experiences I have had have been very good. So I suppose my guard was down. On the auction sight the bag photgraphed well. The seller left out any telltale signs of a fake Hermes bag. I feel ashamed and humiliated to say nothing of the rage I am experiencing. I hope you can give me some constructive advice on how to cope with this situation. It is so unlike the traditional buying experience where one sees a seller face to face. This is a faceless, bodiless perpetrator who can slip and slide anywhere on the web bilking people out of their hard earned money. I could go on and on, but I am sure you understand the gist of my angst. Any advice or information you can supply will be most welcome.

Sent a treasurer's check in the amount of $3,950 and have received nothing. He will not answer any of my emails and I have since been contacted by another ebayer who has also been defrauded by this person.
I borrowed the money to pay for this auction by using a check from my credit card company which I now have to pay interest on. I am totally devastated by this turn of events. My husband and son know there is something wrong with me but I cannot tell them what happened. I am so sick about it I went to my doctor and she told me my blood pressure is extremely high and also wanted to know why. I am not sleeping and am almost non-functioning. If anyone must contact me by phone, please be discreet. My husband must not find out about this.

Purchased an item Ebay. The seller turned to be a scam artist. Sent check for $1551, certified mail. Recipient got the check on March 31, cleared Bank America National T/S on March 3 with two endorsed signatures.
Did Chase write a certified check for $1,551 to a total stranger? No, Antonio did, so how does he think Chase is at fault? Antonio is basically out of luck through his own negligence.

On Feb. 10, 2001 payment was made of $274.50 to cover the cost of a printer, a USB cable and shipping. Mr. Shekmar (the seller, in Wilkes-Bare, PA) acknowledge that he received the money and would ship the items on Monday the 12 of Feb. On the 16th he said he was called away and would ship on the 17th. On the 23rd he said he would be back on March 1st and would ship. On March 2nd I asked for a refund.
I went through the process of filing a fraud claim via ebay and was informed that I had to wait 30 days before filing an insurance claim. On the 29 day ebay informed me that since I hadn't filed the insurance claim within 30 days I was not intitled to any insurance and they were closing the case. It stated in a few places on ebay that I had up to 90 days to file for an insurance claim. It seems that I not only got ripped off by Mr. Shekmer but also Ebay. I might also add that Mr.Shekmer has gotten three more negative feedbacks on ebay making it a total of 5.
