I have shopped on Ebay for 3 years now. Most people I know shop on Amazon.com and when I suggest they check for the same items on Ebay which I find is usually lower in price but also a lot of free shipping options. The response I always get is they thought everything was through bidding or that they don't trust the sellers. I've had less expensive, easy to find, good selection on most types of items and when Ebay lists a price, select the item, it is the actual price vs Amazon that gives a price range and it's always the highest. Ebay has good quality items as well as the same cheap items you'd find on WISH with little or no shipping. I've never had any issues with service, shipping or quality vs another similar site. PayPal is available on purchases which is a secure service for payments. I check Ebay first before I shop anywhere else.

I do a lot of shopping with eBay. I have had great experiences with majority of the sellers or merchants. This last Christmas I purchased 3 pairs of Uggs. All were authenticate and verified through the Ugg website with the Ugg barcode. I always do my homework, read reviews, look at all feedback, positive, negative and neutral, look at percentage of sales, carefully read their return policy, ask/send seller questions etc. I have not be disappointed so far. All purchases are great!

In real life, face to face buying... you can be dissatisfied with your purchase but keep it and deal with it with a vow to never return to that retailer. You can also have an interaction with the retailer to resolve any issues that perhaps they were not aware of. On eBay, you have only two options if dissatisfied. One is to return the item at your expense and receive no feedback for your initial prompt payment or to just keep the item and say nothing. Vendors will ban you from bidding on future items if you dare to leave them even NEUTRAL feedback for items that were misrepresented in the first place. Doing you a favor really. They take this very personally because eBay charges them more to list if they have too many neutral or negative customer responses in their feedback. This does nothing to foster an environment of vendor improvement or honesty.

Returning items just isn't justifiable where the item value doesn't warrant the return postage/shipping in order to get your money back for just the item. Add to this the recently added international shipping fees garnered by eBay to presumably cover import fees... and forget it! I can count 20 items I would have purchased in the last month had it not been for that alone. It just makes the total price too high. The 'deals' on eBay are no longer deals when a 20USD item ships for 34USD + 11.95USD import fee. As well, buyers are essentially held hostage for positive feedback on a prompt payment until they leave POSITIVE feedback for something they may not be satisfied with. Even if you do suck it up and pay the shipping to return the item the vendor still won't leave you feedback at all for your paying quickly.

Of the several things I purchased in the last 3 months I was truly satisfied with only one. The rest, I'm living with and one is in the garbage. In this environment that eBay has set up, the vendors have to be COMPLETELY HONEST or the buyers have to COMPLETELY LIE about their experience in order to avoid backlash, banning from future bidding or suck up the cost of returned items. The buyer it would seem is getting raked. There are a few honest vendors I'm sure. I just haven't found one yet. Lol! I keep most of my searches within Canada to avoid hysterical fits of laughter at the insane shipping and import fees. There are a few private sellers that actually charge the 'correct amount' but for the most part they either think Canadians are stupid or not at all aware of what postage costs... even some Canadian sellers unfortunately.

The bottom line for me: I will only use eBay if I can't find an item I really need or want locally, have exhausted website direct buying searches (which never charge import fees)... and if I'm completely bored with disposable income. It's a bit of a lottery buying on eBay. All I can suggest is to ask questions before buying! If you don't like the answer don't buy it. Don't ask yourself if you can do without that thing you really want. Ask yourself what you will do when you get it and it's not what you thought or hoped it would be. Are you willing to go through the gauntlet of nonsense from the vendor to resolve? eBay doesn't take sides so they are only there as a mediator in the event of an issue. Don't expect very much support from them.

I made a purchase from China with a highly rated eBay dealer. When the purchase did not arrive, I made an inquiry about the delay. I was told that the item had been delivered to my home. The dealer and eBay immediately told me my issue was resolved in the dealer's favor. I filed a bad rating on the dealer and eBay erased it because they found in favor of the dealer (so much for their ratings). The DHL delivery tracking presented as proof, turned out to be to someone else. This did not appear to be important to the eBay consumer protection group. After hours of interaction, I finally received a refund from eBay. I will not make any significant $$ purchases with eBay since they do not support buyers.

I used to sell on eBay and learned their policies keep fraud and bad deals nonexistent. Now with my bad knees I find buying what I need on eBay is usually cheaper than local buying and I get what I need ordered and it is most time shipped same day. You set up your PayPal account with PayPal and you buy what you need on eBay and pay with PayPal. You do not need money built up in your PayPal account to buy with. You just set up PayPal to take amount you need to buy a item right out for your checking account. You can also set up one click buying where eBay automatically goes to PayPal who oks amount to be taken out of your checking account. This service and PayPal is free and no charges to have them take amount for item bought out for your checking account. And best part no personal information goes online. Your credit card or checking info are securely kept secret by PayPal.

As I do almost daily whether youre buying a screwdriver or a larger order when I hit the order button PayPal takes that purchase amount out of my checking account and no personal info is shown. With all the sellers to deal with I always find what I was looking for locally cheaper on eBay. And you can get free shipping on most items and most times shipped same day. EBay policy also protects you from any bad transactions and in fact if you have problem with item bought or do not receive it you file a complaint with eBay then file complaint with PayPal who will pull that sellers money for the item you have problem with until the transaction has been investigated.

Overall, I am fairly satisfied with eBay and PayPal. However, I do have some MAJOR concerns. First and foremost eBay allows THE SALE OF COUNTERFEIT foreign coins, i.e. in my experience 5 silver Pesetas pieces from 19th Century Spain. After notifying them numerous times about a retailer who was OPENLY stating the coin was counterfeit, the seller was not taken off. I argued that I felt this was a violation of US & international laws; that it would place a stigma on any REAL coins of that country and era and make a potential buyer suspect whether or not a coin bought on eBay would be genuine or not; and that as such, it would considerably reduce the value of genuine coins owned by people like me. They seemed unmoved.

EBay also has a DEPLORABLE means of "flagging" such questionable items - they have 3 scroll down categories that you use to send your concern to them and NOWHERE among those categories is either a KNOCK-OFF, COUNTERFEIT, REPLICA, etc. category. You are forced to choose one of only FOUR (4) CATEGORIES. None of which come close to adequately describing what your concern is. However, I must say that 99.8% of my dealings on eBay have been very pleasant and rewarding and that in cases of merchandise which was never received (only 3 cases) or which was not as described, they intervened and resolved the matter.

I was not pleased when the TWO (2) CREDIT CARDS that I used on PayPal were somehow stolen by hackers bent on pulling an expensive prank on me. One was used to send me a coin that was OUTRAGEOUSLY OVERPRICED at $179 including shipping - when I am accustomed to buying coins of a GREATER SIZE and VALUE, and GREATER SILVER CONTENT for much less. Example, I have been able to buy as many as SIX (6) 5 Pesetas coins (90% silver content) for $140 INCLUDING SHIPPING from a seller in Greece; and most recently FIVE (5) 5 Pesetas coins (90% silver content) for $89 and $20 shpg from a seller in Florida.

The other credit card was used to purchase a $1,883+ airline ticket from Iberia Airlines to a destination in the Netherlands. This told me the hacker HAD to hack into PayPal to get that credit card number, since that particular credit card was ONLY USED to contribute monthly to Wounded Warrior Project, AFMDA, and St. Jude Children's Hospital and NOTHING ELSE. Asides from these experiences, I am fairly well satisfied with both eBay and PayPal.

I have purchased 300+ items over the past several years from the eBay on-line site. In the course of this time. I have only had to require help from the support staff to resolve a problem with a seller of a listed item three times. Two issues involved the seller taking more than a week to ship the item that I on-line purchased. And one issue resulted in the purchase of an item that the seller did not honor my winning bid for their item and did not refund my purchase price within a fair amount of time. The support staff resolved the issue within 24 hours of my filed complaint(s).

Amazon in particular has been nothing but a pleasure to deal with. The product is well displayed and described on their site and the service in my experience has been second to none. As an impulse buyer at times, I had no problem contacting Amazon to please reverse the order as I have decided against the purchase. In no time they send a response as to whether the product can or can't sometimes be cancelled and are very polite during the process. eBay, well, you're at the mercy of the seller but I can still give them high marks because simply, I have not had an issue as of yet.

I purchased two sweatshirt dresses on eBay. They were coming from China so I knew that I needed to order a couple of sizes up. I received the dresses rather quickly, but I was disappointed when I opened the package. The dresses were not made of sweatshirt material, instead it appeared to be a cotton nylon blend with fur on the inside. And although I ordered two sized up, the dresses were still too small. I contacted the seller for a return and they asked me to send them pictures. After sending pictures, I didn't hear from the seller again. I contacted eBay for help and within two days I received notification that I would receive a full refund and that I could keep the dresses. I was very pleased with the outcome and I decided to wear the dresses around the house on cold days.

My next experience with eBay was not as good. I purchased an iPad air case on December 14 from a seller called ituners. The terms of the sale was guaranteed shipping within 5 days of receiving payment, so I figured that the item would arrive before Christmas since it was a Christmas gift. Christmas came and went so I contacted the seller for tracking information. The tracking information stated that the shipping information was not sent over to Fedex until December 31st, which is way past the guaranteed 5 day ship policy. The package should have shipped on December 15 because I paid with PayPal credit therefore the seller received payment immediately.

I finally received the case on January 6 so I contacted the seller for a return because I had to purchase another case elsewhere. The seller refused to accept a return and said that they had a no return policy, but I felt that they didn't ship within the 5 day window which is eBays policy then I should be able to return the case. I contacted eBay for help and they contacted the seller requesting a return. The seller denied the request so eBay closed the case. I was going to just sell the case but when I opened the box, the case was appeared to have been opened and one of the seals had been sliced open. I probably would not have even noticed that the case had been opened if I was keeping it because my daughter would have probably just ripped the box apart, but since the packaging had been opened I definitely didn't want to keep it.

The sellers description stated that the case was new and unopened therefore I wasn't sure if the case was even authentic. I contacted the seller again and explained that not only did they ship late but the package was not sealed therefore I wanted a refund. The seller emailed me back and said that they were going to report me for fraud! I don't understand how I'm committing fraud for requesting a return / refund for an item that didn't ship within the policy's guaranteed ship time and the packaging was not as described. I contacted eBay again and was told that there was nothing they could do and that I would have to contact Paypal and file a dispute for a refund. From now on, I think I'll just stick to shopping on Amazon.

I always use ebay to compare prices. More often than not the prices are lower than at standard retailers like Walmart and other similar stores. Contacting ebay is sometimes difficult and unproductive. Most eBay sellers use USPS for shipping. That's sometimes unreliable if you are counting on an item being delivered by a specific date. I've had several instances where USPS routes and re-routes packages and delays delivery by two days or more. Using ebay is pretty sterile, meaning there isn't any personal interchanges, but that eliminates disagreements. Dispute resolution is excellent though as long as a buyer follows ebay's dispute policies.

A lot of good deals are available on eBay, but you must be careful about several things. FIRST, don't get caught up in a bidding frenzy and overbid. I see people bidding more than a "buy it now" price for the same item. SECOND, and this is VERY important: USE A CREDIT CARD to pay for your purchases, NOT PayPal credit. The reason is that your agreement with PayPal is that you will accept liquidated damages up to the amount in the seller's account if your purchase is defective in any way. Since the first thing eBay does in any dispute is notify the seller, the seller will withdraw his money and his account balance will be near zero. Then, if eBay finds in your favor and you get the "near zero" as your refund.

Moreover, PayPal is owned by eBay, and it's not in their interest to refund anything, since they make money on the commissions. The result is that eBay is more likely to decide in favor of the seller. But if you used a credit card, you can always dispute the charge and get a FULL refund. THIRD, beware of frauds. Again, eBay needs sellers more than it needs buyers, so it favors them. Many sellers camouflage the true item price with huge shipping fees. Some operate under a dozen of more account names so you think you are looking at competitive pricing when they are really all the same company.

I reported a buyer for operating and damaging an expensive drone and then seeking a refund. Buyer used eBay's money back guaranty for a refund. eBay Case ID:**. I sold a Blade Choma drone on eBay for 750.00. The buyer received the drone on 19 NOV, opened a brand new micro SD card operated and damaged the drone and requested a return on 21 NOV after two days of operating it claiming it arrived damaged.

I reported this buyer to eBay several times by message and phone starting on 21 NOV. I offered to receive the drone to assess the damage and then provide a refund. The buyer reported the item to eBay as not as described on 22 NOV and was awarded a full refund. It cost me out of pocket to pay shipping, return shipping and eBay fees to have a damaged drone shipped back to me. I filed a claim with FedEx who inspected the damage and packaging and ruled out shipping damage. They stated that the damage had to happen outside the shipping container.

eBay did not act on the report of the buyer but instead without hesitation awarded the buyer a full refund. The importance of eBay buyers base is more lucrative than the sellers. eBay did not change or delete the negative feedback I received or take into consideration my 100% positive feedback and years of patronage. This transaction cost me 300 dollars in damage and 80 dollars in shipping charges. If the buyer bought this drone from a dealer and removed it from the box and found it to be damaged the dealer would not offer a return but would send it in for warranty if the damage was manufacture related. This response and action by eBay does not do anything to correct the wrongful transaction, financial burden or my seller reputation.

eBay regularly sends me messages stating how they protected my account from improper buyer's feedback. What a crock! eBay has slowly turned sellers into tame toothless lions, we've been declawed and defanged, just waiting on the neutering part. Each erosion of our rights to confront scam buyers, unethical buyers, unreasonable buyers, has made the average no frills sellers an endangered species. We may no longer leave negative or neutral feedback for problem buyers, in fact we can only leave them positive feedback, which in reality gives the scammers carte blanche.

eBay has also instituted a ridiculous program called the "Global Shipping Program" with the help of Pitney Bowes. The idea was to make it easier for US sellers to sell on the global market safely. Then came the prices being charged for shipping and duty, what a farce. Much worse than UPS and their hidden export fees. If you were to look for example at the eBay. ca (Canadian eBay) community discussion area, you will read and hear thousands of complaints and examples of abuse. Please someone, end eBay's monopoly.

Was a seller and buyer on eBay for a long time with 100% positive feedback and no returns. eBay NEW "policies" HAVE NO SELLER PROTECTION! Buyer is always right no matter what. I sold an item that I had appraised by a company which has been in business for over 100 years and highly respected paid over $700.00 for these appraisals! Listed the "Item Description" exactly as the appraisal description. Showed numerous photos of items included. I had the shipping of same items Notarized - video taped, included appraisal copy (licensed appraiser) and notary copy in shipping box. This was sent Registered USPS Mail, fully insured. (thus was sealed by USPS as well)

Buyer came back with the "not as described." Notary Sealed, video taped, appraisals proved to eBay. Standard "Cue Card Response" from eBay Customer Service... "Don't worry, you just give them a refund..." "Oh you want to just give them a refund..." 3 times I contacted eBay about this. Item stated over 3 times in BOLD RED LETTERS NO REFUNDS DUE TO ITEMS NATURE that item was appraised, item description was exactly taken from appraisal. Appraisal had photo as well. eBay was contacted by me numerous times, only to get the same cue card... "just give them a refund... you want to make them happy..." No, I don't. I refused. I did everything by "the book" and more to protect myself and eBay is helping this person steal items. Yes, after 4 months... they were never returned nor would I consent to refund! eBay started "collections" against me, the seller!

BEWARE! SELLERS CANNOT LEAVE ANY NEGATIVE FEEDBACK ON BUYERS WHO DO THIS... So feedback on BUYERS IS A JOKE! eBay almost always sides with buyers no matter what you do to protect yourself! However, buyers who commit theft and fraud are allowed to leave bad feedback. I have sent all proof to eBay via certified mail, signature required so they got it. Hired a law firm to file for arbitration and will sue eBay if it comes to that. Honest small sellers are being driven off eBay.

I purchased an item that I felt was not as described and requested a return per the Seller's policy, but I missed the (very small) 5-business-day window to return the item. The Seller asked eBay to "close" the transaction, they did, and I appealed by phone to eBay. The eBay rep I spoke with told me he was finding in my favor. He gave me a Service Request number and told me to again contact the Seller referencing that number, that the Seller was bound by their decision to now issue a refund.

I contacted the Seller as instructed and he refused, saying the case was "closed" and that he wouldn't issue a refund. I again called eBay, guess what? I spoke to a second Rep who agreed, telling me that once a case is "closed," there's nothing they can do. I asked why Rep #1 would give me a Service Request number if that was the case, as this was not a complicated matter and one they must handle all the time. Rep #2 said there were no notes in the Service Request to tell her what we discussed, and implied that I must have misunderstood what Rep #1 told me.

I asked to speak to a Supervisor, who could/would also offer no explanation why I was given a completely wrong answer by an eBay Escalations rep., except to again question whether my account of what transpired was accurate, suggesting maybe the rep said I could try to work with the Seller or that maybe I could resell the item. When I persisted in the argument the "sorry, the case is closed," is clearly not an adequate answer, she suggested it might be a training issue and said she could listen to a recording of the call, but that there would be no further feedback provided to me.

There was no misunderstanding with Rep #1 and this is not simply a "training issue" as the Supervisor implied. Rep #1 gave me a Service Request # and clear instructions that logic dictates he must have known were false-- this is not a difficult situation to understand and a complaint they must get all the time. The only conclusion I can make was that I was deliberately scammed by this individual.

Sadly, I must further conclude that eBay simply doesn't care. I was given obviously wrong information which they admitted they could verify, but the only recourse I was offered was "maybe you could try to resell the item." I have 100% eBay feedback on 500+ transactions as both a Buyer and Seller, at the very least I'd expect them to be apologetic instead of questioning my veracity. My trust in eBay has been significantly eroded by this experience. Buyer beware!

OK you will not believe this one. A buyer buys 4 coupons (not anything I have ever sold before) for staples. Each coupon has 3 coupons on it. For 12 coupons. 3 of them expire 2 days after delivered to buyer (as stated in listing exp date). Buyer begins asking me to send him the codes electronically which is a violation of eBay's listing policies. After repeated messages to him telling him of the policy, he begins sending messages to my private e-mail demanding that I send to him the codes. Feeling the pressure of a negative feedback, I finally cave in & send them to him. Then he begins his torture... Telling me 4 separate times that he either did not get them or could not read the codes.

I spent about 1 hour doing this over & over, different ways trying to make him happy. Then he started to ask me to hand type in all 12 16-digit coupon codes... Can you imagine? Then when I would not do this, came the negative feedback saying I did not value his time & had bad customer service. As if that was not bad enough... 6 days after he received them in the mail & 4 days after 4 of them had expired, he puts in for a return... OMG. This guy is a nightmare. And eBay is letting him do it. Since I do not sell coupons, when I listed the item I in error forgot to remove my 14-day return policy. Can you imagine he keeps messaging me telling me I can still sell the other coupons? They will expire before they can be returned. Ebay will take the $40.00 from me, make him pay to return with tracking & I'll get coupons that are now worthless & damaged in my opinion.

Let's see how eBay handles this. He continues to buy coupons on eBay from sellers who break the rules & deliver them digitally. If they did not, then he would have not harassed me into sending them to him. Ebay's buyer protection does not cover coupons / everything else category, but because I had the 14-day return policy not removed for 1 silly coupon listing, they are making me return his money. We will see what happens when I get back an item that is damaged & not in the original condition sent to the buyer. What then will the ALMIGHTY EBAY do???

I recently made a $292 purchase from a seller named importsharkstore on eBay. I paid immediately with PayPal just like I do with all my purchases on eBay. The seller did not ship out my item until 5 days after my purchase date of 12/16/15. And when I noticed that the item had not been listed as shipped I messaged the seller on eBay with their messaging service. The seller tried to lie and make up a lame excuse as to why the item had not shipped out within a reasonable amount of time. So I called him on his lie in a reply and told him that if the item did not show up on time and in perfect condition he could expect to receive negative feedback.

On the 12/23/15 I was working outside all afternoon. When I came in I checked my phone and noticed several calls from area code 909 which is Cali and also where the item shipped out from, so I assumed it might be the trucking company calling to set up a delivery time. When the phone rang a little after 8pm I noticed it was the same number and answered the call, which turned out to be from the eBay seller who tried to bribe me for positive feedback by offering to ship me $100 worth of free parts that went along with my original purchase. And all I had to do was promise to leave positive feedback on his profile. I told him (Sam) that I would think about it. But the next morning I message him on eBay and said that I would not be accepting his offer.

On 12/29/15, I received a call from the trucking company stating that the item was at their facility in my state and could be delivered between 10am and 2pm on 12/03/15 if I was available. I said I would be home all day and that was fine. At around 3pm on the 30th the item had not arrived so I called the trucking company to see why. I was told that the shipper/seller had placed a delivery hold on the item because I had not paid for the item and he had left a message telling me to call him to work out the situation. I refused to call him, but I emailed proof through eBay that I had paid for the item.

The estimated delivery date of 1/4/16 arrived and still no item. So on the morning of 1/5/16 I opened a eBay Buyer Protection claim against the seller for non-delivery of the item and requested a full refund. The seller generated a second shipping label through FedEx for a second item that was picked up in PA on the 7th and left on my doorstep on the 8th. It was not the item I had purchased. It was a board game.

I contacted the trucking company who told me that the shipper/seller had requested that the item they had be sent back to him during the previous week. The tracking number for that item was different than the one that was left on my back porch. It was also shipped from CA, unlike the second item which had been left on my porch which came from PA.

I quickly realized what the seller had done, so I logged onto my eBay account to see that the case I had opened had been closed because he called eBay and stated the item had been delivered and gave them a tracking number. So they not only closed the case, but they removed my negative feedback from the sellers account profile.

I eventually got the money back, but I wanted everyone to know about the dishonest practices that some sellers on eBay do. And also that eBay allowed this seller to get away with this action even after I used over 200 minutes on my cell phone talking with several different representatives at eBay. They did absolutely nothing to this seller for doing what he did, even though I provided proof of everything that I stated. They just didn't seem to care that this seller was dishonest and used an apparent loophole in their system to get away with what he had done. Shame on this seller and shame on eBay for allowing him to continue to sell on their site.

The seller refused to send a return shipping label, stating that she was advised by eBay to take this action. Needless to say I left negative feedback for which the seller was able to have it removed.

Then the seller left a threatening message. When I complained about what occurred, I was told by the eBay's Appeal Department that a seller could lie, rip off and threaten a buyer and there was nothing that could be done. In fact, the Appeals Department representative stated that action would be taken against the employees who offer to help me with my concerns. I closed my account immediately after 17 years. I uploaded pictures of my tests. eBay is now requiring me to refund the buyer the full amount including original shipping for an item that works fine. I spoke with Justin and Joe ** call# **, and they noted that there is nothing eBay can do to change the refund amount to exclude the original shipping cost. Also that the Buyer Guarantee favors the buyers and nothing can be done to protect sellers from this other than 'reporting' a buyer which does not give me my money back. So essentially if I am a buyer, I can always return anything I want because they always take the buyer's word for it and screw over the seller.

My husband was selling since last year. Okay, it wasn't a lot of money, but it was steady. Then in November he had 6 cancellations. Three were because of non-payment by the customers, and 3 were cancelled because they were orders for photo prints and they had been corrupted in the computer and wouldn't print out properly. That caused my husband to go from above standard to below. He only had 1 negative feedback all year. Then they just restricted him so he couldn't sell any longer. He appealed but it didn't do any good. That steady money was very important to us and eBay has ruined us.

I have nothing good to say about them and I can't even tell you what I would like to do to them, because I would be arrested. I know there are many other people they have done this to as well. I will never so much as buy anything from them again. I even had a sale in the beginning of January, but that didn't make any difference. They really hurt me and I wish I could do the same!

I Recently bought a men's gold necklace on eBay. Everything looked great on the listing at first. However after I received the item I quickly found out that I was duped. The chain was hollow and I assumed it was solid. Only because I've never heard of a hollow Figaro link chain before. Also the seller had a very short description of the item because most people won't want to buy a hollow chain.

Also NEVER buy from a seller who does not accept returns and or has a very low feedback rating. I should have known all these things being an experienced eBay buyer, but it was a perfect storm that didn't go any my way. Also make sure to ask as many questions to the seller about the specific item of interest. Ebay told me it was my fault for not asking a specific question to the seller thus not ruling in my favor for a simple return to the seller. Also the chain may not be worth that much yet ebay has told me even if it is fake they still cannot make the seller refund my money. YES what I just said was true, they told me after they rule on an appeal they CANNOT reverse the decision process. All this was based on an email I 1st sent to the seller about it being hollow. Mind you eBay encourages you to contact the seller (which I did) and try to work out an agreement.

What they don't tell you is that they base their refund decision on the first email you send to the seller! If you don't have a very specific reasoning in the first email you send, it won't be good enough to get you your refund. It is Very misleading but obviously they side with misleading sellers. They say they have a buyer protection policy which protects the buyer.

Such Humor that is! I got hustled on Ebay and now I'm out almost $500. Ebay's only solution was for me to resell the item. Yes that was not a typo, they actually told me to resell it. Thus proving the point that they only protect the seller because the seller is who they make their money from. Ebay charges 10% to the seller PER ITEM SOLD, so of course protecting the seller is more in their best interest. Buyer beware when buying an expensive item on ebay and remember that ebay always makes 10% from the seller not the buyer. Now that I've seen how EBay's logistics' truly operate my days spending my money they are definitely numbered.

I purchased a soldering station on eBay from a store called Best2shop15 and spent roughly $80. It was a soldering station and a magnifying light. I received the magnifying light only (probably worth $5) but no soldering iron! I first attempted to deal with the seller, but they just had a generic type response asking me to email them, provide them with pictures of the package, and that they would take care of the problem. I provided this information three times, but just kept getting the same response. Then I got eBay involved, and they forced me to first try to deal with the seller again - with the same results.

Then eBay said that they looked into the case, and they sided with the seller. So I am out my $80, and am really frustrated. I then tried to leave bad feedback to warn others of my experience, and eBay took it down! They treated me like a liar. I finally learned my lesson, and got my soldering station through Amazon (a company that takes care of their customers!). Shame on you eBay.

EBay allows sellers to put items up for auction and then allows the seller that didn't get what they wanted for the item, just not ship it out. What happens is this. Item goes up for sale, seller didn't get what they wanted, so they just claim it was shipped out when it really wasn't. Buyer makes a claim and if youre lucky in maybe 2 - 4 weeks you will get your monies back. In the meantime the seller will relist their item hoping they will get more than the last time they sold it to you. This is a common practice of a lot of EBay sellers.

Another thing they do is collect states sales tax on the shipping fees. Per state code (CA) they are to only collect tax if the seller state there is a postage and HANDLING fee. Then EBay is to tax the total amount. But that's not what they do, they collect tax on all postage fees and pockets the tax monies for themselves, which is fraud. How can they get away with this???

I purchased a pink hoverboard on eBay from a seller that allegedly was located in California as stated on their page for their item. I purchased the item on December 8, 2015 for more money than other options because they guaranteed delivery by December 17, 2015, and this item was a Christmas present. Other options were somewhat cheaper, but the delivery guarantee was not provided by the other sellers. After being provided a bogus tracking number, the item was not delivered. I kept contacting the seller only to receive more information in what was barely able to read it was in such broken English. The seller kept telling me they had run into problems. They began to offer discounts on the item if I still wanted to purchase it. I agreed to take the partial refund and keep the order coming after they pushed the delivery date back with no updated tracking information for three weeks.

Finally, when I told them I was going to provide negative feedback and contact eBay, they kept asking for forgiveness and offered two options. They stated that they would provide a full refund for the item as one option, or that if I would still purchase the item from them, they would provide me with a 50% discount when the item did arrive. I agreed since I already had to tell my child excuse after excuse to convince them that "Santa's elves" were having trouble producing the number of toys necessary. Meanwhile a number of other customers ran into similar obstacles with this seller, as I checked the feedback, which was previously mostly positive. I was able to ascertain that the seller was in fact not in the United States as they falsely included in their listing.

The item finally arrived this week without any further notice from the company on January 13, 2016, nearly a full month after their guarantee. In the meantime I had contacted eBay and left negative feedback for them as well. The seller vowed to give me the 50% refund on my purchase if I would revise the negative feedback with an update. All of this is documented in our communication. I agreed to this, and then the seller told me that they would be unable to refund me any portion of the cost.

I filed a complaint with eBay, and I proceeded to explain the situation. I received a reply from eBay customer relations that they had "deliberated" and sided with the seller. Additionally, they removed the negative feedback from the profile of the seller that I had previously left. So in my mind, both the eBay seller: eco-fashionfurnitureno.1 and eBay itself are responsible for permitting such shady practices on their site and with their services. In this situation, the seller received nothing negative and will be left to rip off multiple more customers as is the case if you look at their recent feedback, yet eBay does nothing, let alone allow the negative feedback to be visible for future buyers to peruse. In my estimation, this is unacceptable.

I have been a loyal eBay member since 2010. No issues until last year as buyer and a seller. Started with not receiving items and eBay saying I got them when I did not, then as a seller having buyers using foul language towards me. I called eBay and they won't do a thing. Now I'm on the edge of doing away with eBay altogether. I'm a fisherman who relies on eBay for selling and buying but my recent experience is that I don't care anymore. Sellers can rape on shipping, over-inflate the price on a item, with no regards or anything.

It's messed up. I'm as of late buying through the manufacturers and it's cheaper and more cost-efficient and effective. They don't rape me on shipping and I know I'm getting my item for selling. IDK, because I list stuff the right way. I mean, I stated on one sale, "No return item is fix or repair" in big letters. The buyer said didn't see the description and eBay sided with the buyer, and I never got my item back and had to give them the money back. That has happened so many times to me.

As a buyer one more time I ordered a item for a Christmas present. Didn't receive it in the time the buyer said. I opened a case and 6 days after I asked for a refund and to not get the item, I get the item. The seller refused to send me a return label and opened a case on me. eBay sided on him and then the seller was able for some apparent reason give me my first negative feedback because he said I was being fraudulent to mention on that I order this item 2 weeks before Christmas and just got it last week and the seller guaranteed 3 day shipping. Do the math. I did not get it in 3 days but I was the bad guy in the case. I will be closing my account and starting people away from eBay from now on.

And EVERY time it doesn't happen. Minus this last time. The guy got in a full out argument with me refusing to give me a refund for an item I never received. The seller sent the item to the wrong address. The item was returned to the seller. And both the seller and eBay are refusing to give me a refund. Nice... it was a Christmas present too. So somehow the buyer is always at fault... even if the seller messes up by sending it to the wrong address. They get to keep your money for an item they got back. What a crappy policy if you ask me.

This seller had high ratings too... so be careful people. Oh, and I can't forget to mention. If you ask to speak with a manager, they put you on hold forever and never connect you to one. eBay does everything they can to make the buyer happy, including giving sellers bad information to get them to give buyers a refund. Informing a seller to accept a return so the seller can verify the item is in the condition the buyer states. The only thing that happens is the seller is accepting the buyer is correct and eBay forces a refund on the buyer's behalf. Also even if the seller gets the item back and proves the buyer was lying, he is still forced to give the buyer a refund.

The eBay resolution center is only there to try and convince the seller to speak with the buyer and resolve any problems and if that is not possible, the Resolution Rep will tell you the matter will be looked over by the escalated claims department and they will make a fair decision on the matter. That is far from the truth - that department is only there to explain to you that they are giving the buyer a refund because the ten things the Resolution Center had you do to solve the matter was just a run around and somehow a mistake so they can issue the refund before it goes to escalated claims department. The truth is no matter what eBay had me do to resolve the bogus claim, including taking video and pictures of the Oculus to show I did give them the item I listed and in the condition shown, they told me straight out: no matter what I had to give the buyer a refund and because I have not yet.

They issued the refund and I'm out of the money I spent on the listing the shipping both ways and the time spent. I'm also not able to sell the Oculus for the original price because while with the buyer, it now has large particles and dust on the inside screen and the lenses are scratched and the unit is dirty all over, and that was not how I sent it to them. I sent the listing number so you can see the item and I can also send the photos and video of the DK2 if requested to prove the unit works and is in the condition explained by the listing. Thanks and hope no one else going through this and maybe people will see how the seller is unprotected from eBay when they sell an item to a buyer and he tries to get something for nothing.

I placed feedback about MY experience with the seller. I put "Negative" and stated, "I did not receive the product and received no resolution from either the seller or eBay." EBAY removed my feedback stating they sided with the seller. I explained the feedback is for consumers to express THEIR interaction with the seller, not eBay's determination of a resolution. EBAY didn't care what I had to say stating in no uncertain terms should have done something to prevent the theft. I believe eBay censors A LOT of negative feedback preventing consumers from getting a full and accurate review of the sellers on the site.

I recently sold an item to a buyer who decided to pull a scam and say that the item was damaged, when it clearly was not! The buyer sent me a very poor picture that showed what looked like toothpaste rubbed onto a corner to make it look like damage. It was a very poor attempt. I explained to them that as stated in my ad, they have 14 days to return the product for a full refund. Instead, they chose to open a case against me and eBay allowed them to KEEP THE PRODUCT & GET A FULL REFUND!! I contacted eBay and specifically requested the item be returned, as the damage shown & described was so minimal that it didn't make sense for the buyer to get to keep it on top of getting a full refund. They decided in their favor anyways. I'm very upset and will probably be closing my eBay account.

On November 1, I ordered an item on the ebay. We bite after reading several reviews on the seller. It promised delivery between Nov. 11 until the 23. I ordered it for my son's B-day gift and did not have it. I gave him a card with a photo in it saying it was purchased and we would have it soon. On Nov 25th I emailed the seller asking where the item was. They asked for me to be patient. I was patient. On Dec 1, I still did not receive the item and contacted the seller through the resolution department on ebay regarding the seller boxontheroad002. I received another email telling me that the item was in route and they provided me with a new tracking number. I looked every day on the UPS site and did not see tracking.

On Dec 15 I finally saw that the item was in route and would be in Farmingdale which is only an hour from my house. So I was hopeful. On Dec 21, I checked the tracking and it said that the seller contacted them and changed the delivery address and it was rerouted to California. You could imagine my surprise especially after being patient and not complaining so much. So I sent another email through the resolution Center on ebay. I called the customer service and they sent an email for me as well. I was just notified on Dec 22 - 2 days before Christmas eve that the seller canceled my order and claimed to return the money. They told me to check my paypal account. When I did there was no return of funds.

I am not going to send the item back or complain to eBay about this because I feel it's my own fault. I was bidding on a Christmas snow globe and the price kept getting higher and higher. I really wanted that globe so I went way above what I could really afford. "Magically" I won the bid. However, after checking the site again, I see TWO of the exact same globes for less than 1/2 what I paid for it. What I find "interesting" is the "PERSON" bidding against me didn't buy one of the other ones that were "available" at a much cheaper price. Those two globes are still "FOR SALE"... So I smell a "rat". Thinking someone ran that bid up so the seller could get more money?

I could be wrong, and I am not blaming anyone because I have NO proof and I am just chalking it up to lesson learned the hard way. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else, so I know I'm not the only person out there that has been made to feel like a big fool. The old saying, "A fool and his money are SOON parted!" Very true, unfortunately.

I had a buyer purchase 3 lots with a total value of $1046. They requested to return all 3 and only stated they were "unhappy with condition of all items". I called eBay to fight it but they told me even though it's unlikely for all the items to be in bad condition (I insured the entire order) and they didn't give any specific reason nor is eBay asking for any sort of proof, eBay said they will still accept the return. They said the only way they would question it is if the buyer actually said they had buyer's remorse (of course they wouldn't so they can return it) or said it was damaged (I insured it so that would be covered).

This has made my Paypal negative because I spent some of the money which I can't replace at the moment and I have $400 in my Paypal credit but I can't use it until the accounts in good standing. Because of this I'm 1 day away from receiving an unpaid item case on top of 3 unresolved returns. I've spent several months putting so much effort into creating a successful store and now because of 1 buyer my account is going to be useless if not closed!! I'm so appalled by eBay, they literally told me the buyer can say anything they want to return an item and they'd never question the buyer's honesty.

I have placed an order a week ago, and paid it in full. It was an expensive purchase (1,825) and I have not received the item. It has not even been shipped yet. To make things worse, the seller has opened a "unpaid item case" against me. To make even worse, I have sent several messages to the seller and I got no answer! I tried to get help from eBay and they acted like they have nothing to do with it, just told me to try contacting the seller and solve the issue directly with them.

This is so frustrating and outrageous! EBay post something on their website, and someone buys it, they ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR IT! They left me completely unprotected and in the dark. I have phoned them twice already, which took me forever and ruined my weekend (they transferred me to countless different departments, and none of them helped me). I have sent proof to seller that I paid the item, and they dropped the "unpaid case" against me. However, they still did not answer my messages nor sent my item! And eBay did nothing so far to help me. EBay also told me "contact Paypal to solve this".

Again, eBay acts like they have nothing to do with anything and tell customer to solve issues on their own. This is a shameful policy. EBay works fine when there is no problem, but if a customer needs them to help in any issue, they just do not help at all. I will definitely pursue a legal case against the company, for compensations with all the time I spent trying to solve this and the stress they put me through.

My ebay rating by Serena **. What if I told you, you could avoid crowded stores, cashiers that couldn't give out correct change, leaving your house, and getting dressed for the day? Well you can on a website called ebay.com. I rate ebay.com 4 out of 5 stars because they have a great variety of items, and a great staff. eBay has thousands of items to choose from, almost anything you can imagine from shoes to food to iPhone. eBay also has a great staff that will help you with any and all problems you may come across. You really don't have to interact with people. So the website is great for people who don't like crowded stores. eBay is a great source to buy things online because you can buy almost anything imaginable. I have personally used ebay to buy a variety of things like headphones, shoes, posters, jewelry, Xbox, etc. Im not the only one doing so.

Don ** bought an iPhone from eBay a few months ago. Maya ** has also bought so many things. eBay make sure that multiple people can buy a variety of things, and that why it's so great. eBay is also great because of its awesome delivery and staff. eBay offers cheap fast delivery which is really simple to buy. They even offer free shipping on some items, though you package may take longer to arrive. Although shipping is usually very reliable, there can be complications. Don ** package for example got lost in the mail. Don contacted eBay's staff and, within a few days eBay got Don a full refund and he bought an iPhone from a different seller. C-L **, a long time buyer from eBay says delivery is almost always prompt and you're covered if anything goes wrong. The delivery and great staff of eBay is just one of the things that make eBay so great.

Even though ebay usually has great shipping it can sometimes get lost. People who think eBay is not a good website to buy things online like to bring this fact up all the time. Like I said in the previous paragraph even if your package gets lost in the mail its a pretty stress free thing to deal with. I dislike when people bring up that their packages were lost in the mail and blame eBay. First off, if the package gets lost in the mail its the postal office's fault, not eBay's. Second of all, eBay offers an insurance, that covers the sellers, saying if the package gets lost eBay will refund the buyer. Again, in my opinion, eBay is a very reliable site to purchase things online.

In conclusion, I think ebay is a very reliable source to buy things online because of its great staff, delivery polices, and the variety of items they carry. eBay is a stress free environment where you don't have to deal with crowds or cashiers who don't know how to give away correct change. You can count on eBay to get your package to your door or money back. eBay is great because it's a hassle free way of buying things online.

The New Type 55 Polaroid film is being made and continues to be made. It is being made for $85 per pack of film (that contains 5 sheets of film). I recently bought 5 packs of film (from vendor "brasslensking") thinking that I was receiving 5 packs of old film (totaling at 25 sheets of film). If 5 normally cost $85 then $125 for 25 was a bargain on eBay. But I found out that I had bought only 5 sheets of film for $125, $40 more than it costs from the manufacturer. I tried returning it. After all if it was a misunderstanding, we could have done a return but no answer from the vendor. Then I asked for my money back guarantee at eBay customer service (after waiting 40 minutes on the phone) 0 but they said "well you decided to buy it so we can't give your money back".

The moral is this - eBay relies on the humanity of the vendors but if vendors are not nice, won't communicate, eBay does nothing. In our case, eBay thinks a "Pack" means one sheet of film. I think Pack is short for packet and a packet normally contains many items. In my case 5 sheets of film (5 packs = 25 sheets). Their customer service people are like machines following pre-written answers. It is sad to see how this company is not what it used to be.

All of our ads state that if people are interested in purchasing our entire inventory, or even parts of it, they should contact us. When this occurs, we build up a list of what the customer wants and then list it as a special package, on eBay. We have sold thousands of dollars worth of merchandise that way, all through eBay, and they the records to prove it.

Now they tell us that by stating that in the ad that we are trying to go around eBay and not pay the fees. This is despite the fact that we only accept payments from Paypal via eBay. A further absurdity is their recommendation that we list each of the thousands of items individually, a task we believe will take the better part of a year, as each item has to be checked to ensure that it is accurately described and fairly priced. Finally, we have been contacted by many customers asking about non advertised items, i.e., they seem to be able to contact us outside of eBay, although not one of them has ever asked to purchase the items any way except through eBay. I find eBay's responses to be ludicrous and merely an attempt to get us to have to list thousands more items and pay special listing fees. I have no choice but to agree with the growing number of complaints about how eBay conducts itself.

I have posted test results to eBay and to the seller. eBay says they will ban them and do not tolerate items like this but does nothing. To a regular consumer the chips look real and fakes the pc into believing the chip is a valid set amount of space. If you copy a quarter of the said memory to the card it looks good. If you go past the quarter of the memory it will all be corrupted. This is due to the firmware placed on the chip from a valid size memory card. The products affected are USB thumb drives, SD cards, Flash memory and Mini/Micro SD cards. I have purchased many of these on eBay and have complained to eBay about this.

I believe eBay is shielding these sellers so they get their cut in the profits as well. Also I have found that eBay has blocked me from contacting the buyers if I have left neg or neutral feedback. Where any one else that left feedback can contact the sellers? This is really a consumer fraud alert as many customers will lose precious data and cannot recover them once copied to the fake drives. eBay has also blocked me from posting on their Facebook pages as well.

Many people think that eBay scams just happen when the sellers give people faulty products or don't send out the items but recently that has not been the case. I've been trying to sell my phone for the past week and nothing but scammers have contacted me and eBay does nothing. The scammers claim the gift is for a friend and blah blah then they ask for your PayPal address and send you fake confirmation forms and say the money is pending and all that jazz. I've never gotten scammed to a point where I've lost money or lost a product but it's still rampant on eBay.

But that's not the main problem. The main problem is these scammers buy my item within hours of me posting it and try to do the scam. Before I can even get a chance to reply to them or when I do reply to them and tell them I know it's a scam they cancel the order saying the payment I know they made was "unauthorized".

This is a problem for me because eBay deletes my listings and this subtracts from the number of items I can sell each year and my price limit yearly. Every time I have to rebuy it subtracts from these things and I'm ultimately still losing even though I still have my product. eBay has no seller protection to prevent this and it has happened to me over 5 times already. I'm almost ready to stop selling on eBay because it's hard enough for average buyers to sell their products because eBay allows large corporations to sell items allowing them to sell the items cheaper. It's like eBay isn't even made for seller anymore. It's just for large corporations and retailers and buyers. No reason to try to sell on eBay.

It is absolutely ridiculous the way eBay handles itself. Or is it just me? Or maybe it's just my imagination. It seems to me that certain people are allowed to sell eBay's so-called "Prohibited items" and others are not! You be the judge! I am a seller of antiques & collectibles, and WW2 items belonging to both of these categories, specifically **-Third Reich items. We all know the arguments of why we should be able to sell these items on eBay -- the historical significance of World War II and there are many militaria collectors all over the world that collect such items. But as we all (or most of us anyway) also know, eBay does not care about this significance nor the opinions of anyone that does not have elite status! So, we have to abide by this rule or be suspended, or you would think.

As a dealer and living in Germany I have come across many of these types of items (**-Third Reich) and was able to make a very good profit until eBay got really stupid with their rules. So I try my best to abide by these rules. Sometimes I try my luck, for example, I put up a German Newspaper that was from WW2. It was reporting on the war and of course it had photos along with the articles of ** in uniform and a photo of Hitler playing with some kids and so on. But I thought this would be ok, because it was a newspaper, reporting the news, reporting the war, of course from their view! But within 3 days it was taken down, and I had many bids on it and lost a lot of money!!

I had also tried putting postcards up that are very collectable by both postcard collectors and WW2 collectors. Just a few days in and BAM, taken down!! Ok, so-be-it, and decided to bite my lip (and many other things!! :-) ) and to just stop putting anything up that was German WW2 related, and started building my own ecommerce website to sell ANYTHING that I wanted.

THEN, I came across a member, also in Germany, that was making $1000s of dollars selling WW2 ** postcards, and I mean straight-up no questions asked, **! The swastika visible on the front side or the back side or both sides! Photos of Hitler, I mean, there is no question that these are prohibited "** and **-related" items. Not only that but he is posting in a completely unrelated category in an attempt to not get caught. He is posting all of the postcards in "Stamps > Europe > Germany & Colonies", trying to circumvent any attempts by eBay to pull them down. Most of them DO NOT EVEN HAVE A STAMP!

Looked at his feedbacks (1485 at the time of this writing) and they were all postcards, and has been for at least over a year, but probably more -- just can't confirm that because the feedbacks don't go back that far on the date, it just says "for over one year". There were also references to postcards with "The Third Reich" in the title which back in the day was no problem, like I stated before we could sell almost anything until eBay updated rules. He has also tried to avoid being caught by the "Filters" by using the title "WW2 postcard, card, pic from III German Empire". THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE AND COMPLETELY false! Germany was not referred to as "German Empire" during WW2.

So this guy is lying to the customers as well. Although I also know that any collector or dealer knows this, however it is the principle that I am referring to here. He is making a killing with some listings that has sold for as much as $600-700! Well, wait a minute, I thought we were not able to sell items like these? I was PISSED!! I thought, what any seller would think, how is this guy allowed to sell these types of "Prohibited Items" and I am not???

So I reported every one of his items, 52 at the time. 3 days later they were still up and some of them were about to end, and some for a large amount of money, so I called. Talked to a very nice customer service rep, who said she completely understands, and that I was absolutely correct. She also stated that she would (after she had looked at the seller's account) make sure that these items would be removed within 48 hours and she would personally see to it and stay on top of it.

So I was ok with that until 3 more days had gone by and still nothing was taken down, and this guy just made another $600 dollars! Called again, talked to another service rep., male this time. He also assured me that this was being looked at. I asked why it was taking so long when it was so obvious that these were "prohibited items" and that they were allowing this guy to make money on prohibited items while not allowing other sellers to do so. Once again he said he would escalate it and make sure the items were removed. He also agreed with me that this was not fair to me or any one else that had items of this nature taken down. He also stated that he understands why I am upset and that I have every right to be bla... bla ... bla. So I left it at that.

So NOW here we are TWO WEEKS AFTER I REPORTED all of his items and STILL NOTHING IS BEING DONE!! I called again and talked to a supervisor, female. She once again told me that it was under investigation, that I was correct in reporting these items and that they would be removed. Are you kidding me? Why did all of the items that I ever put up that were "prohibited" get taken down within 3 days after they went up, some even the same day?

Meanwhile this guy is making a killing and getting by with it, and just put up 20 of the same type of listings today, and YES, I reported everyone of those also! She said it takes time and I replied that is pure BS!! It is because this guy has 1485 feedbacks and is making eBay big bucks right now with his listings and that's why they are not taking them down! And for all of you that are going to ding me and use the terms snitch, sore loser, whatever, I DON'T CARE. What's fair is fair! I have the same items as he does and some even better but not allowed to put them up, then I'll be damned if I just sit by while someone else does!

I have been an eBay user for 7 years. I am a power seller and use it as my main source of income. I do well for myself on eBay. I would call myself an expert on eBay. I could go on all day about the problems and scams. I recently was shut down for having duplicate listings. Which is ass backwards. I paid for my listing to eBay. I list these duplicate listings by mistake. Why would I want 2 of the same item on eBay. It is an auction site. A buyer will not be as desperate to win an auction if they know another item is out there listed. I have has 12 duplicate listings in 12 months. I have had 20,000 listings in that time. That seems like a incredible good record. Over 99.9 listing that are not duplicates.

I thought I deserved an at-a-boy. What I got was a suspension of 30 days. It's crazy. Especially when you factor in how terrible the site works. I had 75 items close recently. The site crashed. I had about 25 messages from buyers asking what happened to an item they were trying to bid on, an item they were the high bidder on but it just disappeared. That also cost my hundreds of dollars. People bidding up those items instead I had to sell them at the opening bid. They were down again or at least not working properly this past Friday night and Saturday night. I know I am really nothing to them and my sales every year will really not affect them. But they will lose sellers like me by the thousands if this is the best they can do. That WILL drive them out of business.

It took the better part of an hour just to find a phone number to contact them. I spent an hour talking to 3 different departments with no success. A supervisor told me (essentially) the return shipping was my responsibility & part of the risk I took. When I asked for their Legal Dept. - it was not available to the public. Their policy. I had a buyer return a different item than purchased. eBay said there was nothing I could do because they had a tracking number and as far as eBay was concerned – the item was returned. When I contacted eBay and told them they returned a different item, eBay said there is nothing they could do. I had photographs of the original sold item and also photographs of the wrong returned item. eBay didn't care! Fortunately, the buyer wrote again "admitting" they returned the wrong item and the case was settled in my favor (ONLY BECAUSE THE BUYER THEMSELVES ADMITTED THEY RETURNED THE WRONG ITEM). Now I'm worried how I can protect myself.

eBay states that "If you receive an empty package, a different item, or an item in a different condition than the way the buyer received it, you should try to resolve this issue by contacting the buyer. If you're unsuccessful, report the buyer to us. We take these reports seriously, and will carry out a thorough investigation before taking any appropriate action. To protect the privacy of our users, we're unable to inform you of any actions we may take against another user." My question is, what does eBay do to protect the seller? If I sold a $5000 watch and someone returns a $10 watch – how am I protected?

The box does not carry all mandatory information under Packaging and Commodities Act. The box was not sealed when received, but just laminated. The product manual is not original but photocopy of the original and that is also not clear and legible.

I raised a claim on eBay under their eBay guarantee claim ID ** on 29.10.2015 which was rejected by them after 15 days stating that I should prefer a claim on the manufacturer since the product is under warranty. Contesting the rejection of my claim I informed eBay that the manufacturer's warranty comes into effect only if the item fails once it is commissioned. In the instant case a defective and furious product was supplied which does not even have a country of origin. I reported the matter to the suppliers of eBay and they are not even cared to reply. Subsequently, I also sent an email to the customer care department of the manufacturers, but they also prefer to keep silent on the issue. The supplier was absolutely sure that the item is defective before it was sent to me.

While I am resorting to all legal options available to me to protect my money and to expose eBay and their suppliers for cheating the gullible customers I advise people at large not to trust eBay and fall into their traps of buying merchandise from them. Large number of their suppliers are selling furious and defective products which they cannot sell across the counter otherwise through eBay and eBay is wholeheartedly supporting them.

1 Less Stop eBay seller sold me a Solar Birdbath which came with a 14-day Money Back Guarantee. When I purchased the birdbath, I also opted to receive additional eBay guarantee. When I received the birdbath, I was shocked to find that it was made out of molded plastic like that of a frisbee or a child's toy. Once assembled, we placed in the yard and the first time the wind blew, the 4th day I had owned it, it fell over and the centerpiece where the birds are supposed to set completely BROKE OFF. Now mind you, it landed on GRASS. Not on a patio or concrete or even paver stones. Just grass!! That was all it took to break it.

So I contacted the seller to negotiate either a refund or an exchange for a sturdier model and I indicated I would be willing to pay more for a better birdbath. Not only did the seller NOT respond, he referred to case to eBAY without EVER communicating anything back to me, and then EBay quickly followed suit, ruling in the seller's favor over a 2-hour period, without ever contacting me AT ALL. Then, when I submitted HONEST and UNBIASED feedback on the seller's site, stating that the birdbath was "lightweight" and not sturdy or durable (NEVER mentioning the fact that neither the seller nor EBay honors their guarantees) Ebay removed the HONEST FEEDBACK so that NO OTHER buyers can be sure of what they are getting.

This is just ridiculous and shows an incredible favoritism towards the seller of this junk. How does the 14-day No Questions Asked Money Back Guarantee fit into this scenario?? Really?? I have been an eBay seller for almost 10 years, and have sold over 1000 items. This fall a buyer messaged me trying to get me to ship him a $240 gold chain together with 2 $5 items, which I refused to do (had a gut feeling he was up to something funny). Anyway this person used Buy it Now and paid for the chain. I insured and shipped him the item USPS... Three days later I get a request for "item not as described". The buyer said instead of a Gold Chain, he received a letter saying F You, here are you 2 cents, in block letters, with 2 pennies taped to it.

I was shocked at first because over 10 years I have never once seen such a blatant attempt at fraud........But I KNEW eBay was going to make things difficult so the fun began with my first phone call. The first customer service rep told me the buyer's emails indicated they were intending to commit fraud and to try to work it out with the buyer. I messaged him and told him the gold chain was from my mother's estate (who had passed away) and I would never in a million years do something like he accused me of. eBay read our messages and decided to refund me....BUT THEY ALSO REFUNDED THE BUYER!!! He got to keep a gold chain, after committing fraud and even after USPS issued me a statement from the guy who delivered the item that it was sealed and not tampered with, and weighed .8 ounces...the buyer stated to eBay the package in his possession weighed .7 ounces. Proof #1 he lied.

Later on I received an email in my personal email address stating from the buyer a message of threat. The message stated "I would hate to see something happen to that motorcycle of yours with ** plate, or something bad happen to your cute little 10 year old son, or your cat or house (which he described to us probably by searching for me on Facebook). I won't use the same language as the email but it was not PG13. I called eBay to state that he said this and they said call the police but there is nothing they can do, which we did. The chain was also reported stolen in his area....and this is where it gets good!

Ebay told me that even though the local police in his area may have found the chain (sold to a pawn shop a mile from the buyer's house a few days after the case was closed), there was no way for them to remove his "Negative Feedback". The customer service rep stated even if the buyer went to jail for mail fraud due to civil proceedings, they would STILL not remove his negative feedback. eBay paid this buyer his full money, let him keep the stolen property, and refuses to remove malicious feedback even after local police intervened and ordered a no contact order against the buyer for threats of bodily harm to property and a minor child.

eBay is supporting fraud by blindly refunding a buyer that has been PROVEN committing fraud. eBay is supporting a buyer threatening to kill a child, destroy a home and even kill a cat (lord have mercy on this psychotic monster!). Long story short, a buyer with 8 stars will get the benefit of the doubt over a seller with 99.8% positive feedback, 10 years of selling history and over 1000 stars. AS SOON AS A COMPETITOR COMES IN, EBAY IS GOING TO BE LUCKY TO STAY IN BUSINESS. SELLERS PAY ALL FEES. Just scroll up and down and read all these horror stories. Eventually the BBB should step in and do something to fine eBay.

P.S. eBay customer service is the worst I have ever experienced from any company in my entire life. Having a supervisor tell you that even if a buyer went to jail for fraud they would not reverse his refund or remove negative feedback is the reason this is all happening in the first place. Their policies are causing this storm to spiral. ALL they would have to do is talk to USPS or my local police department but instead they say "there's nothing we can do". Sorry eBay, your reputation is as close to garbage as could possibly be. Thanks for reading and good luck to all the sellers out there who have been through this and more!

I purchased two ordered of 2 Cast Iron Antique Style HEART Brackets, Garden Braces RUSTIC Shelf Bracket on eBay from xlr8-imports. I only received one order. I contacted the seller and was told they'd ship the other set but asked to close out the case on eBay and assured they'd ship, so I did. The following day, I saw the same items at Hobby Lobby for quarter the price I paid on eBay and they were even larger than the ones, I requested to cancel my eBay order. The seller got irate and started sending me harassing messages despite the fact that eBay has an option to return the item if you find it at a better price. The seller did not want to hear it, I was told they would deduct the cost to ship each of the items to me and I had to pay to ship them back, note: the shipping was free, so I explained that to the seller, but it made no difference.

After the back and forth, the seller said in the message they'd accept the return but there was no option on eBay to request a return once I closed out the case. When I provided feedback on eBay, making others aware to be careful and review their orders carefully. The seller got even more upset, threatening. Even sent me an e-mail that they reported me to eBay and had my feedback removed. When I contacted eBay, I was told they removed my comment but shouldn't have because they saw it was good feedback but was unable to put back feedback once removed. They said they'd investigate the issues and I have yet to hear back. They said the seller was abusing the system and the customer service rep that took the call from the seller did not handle it properly. It just did not seem correct.

My daughter put it to the test and lo and behold the same thing happened again. This time they went as far as to suspend my account. It's obvious the feedback on eBay are false. They publish only the convenient feedback. The ones they select to publish. They take your money and you trust them to protect the consumer but it's all about the money. I've purchased so many items from eBay, I trust them to provide accurate information, too bad we have to trust sellers that may be less than honest but to think eBay is worse than them, it's scary.

I contacted eBay once again and was told the same thing. They removed my feedback and people are given false feedback about sellers. I'm stuck with items I paid way too much for but also knowing I was taken advantage of. I don't trust eBay and would recommend people be careful. This seller is dishonest, hostile and abusive and eBay does nothing to protect the consumer. As long they're making money they will continue to allow this seller to do this.

Since when eBay became self-sustainable money generating machine? Because it truly is. You no longer can email eBay with your questions. The only options you have is either help yourself with their unhelpful topics or call their 800 number that they never pick up. This is 3rd time I'm encountering problem with them, and no way to reach them. I was just on the phone waiting for exactly 1 hour, I even took a screenshot of my phone so I can show it to my friends how eBay is going down the hill. All they want is collect fees from the sales and don't do any work.

Recently I purchased a suit. It was not as described, it was fake and made in Turkey instead of Italy. So, the seller said, "No problem return it." I did and I have proof that I sent it back. But he claims he did not receive it and eBay and PayPal declined my case and now I'm in almost $500 loss. It's really messed up. I also left a negative feedback to the seller as the item was not as described, and eBay removed it from his profile. It is so maddening. I'm pretty disgusted by eBay. Someone needs to do something about this mess. I did my part and returned the package, here is the tracking number: ** So why should I take this loss and then eBay goes around and brags all over internet that they've got your back and your purchases are protected?

I have called eBay three times over the past two weeks, and I have spoken to eleven customer service "team members." All were in the Philippines. None was helpful. All had me tell my WHOLE story of difficulty using their RELIST template. EVERYONE took "detailed and accurate notes." The next in a long succession of customer service agents to whom I was transferred NEVER had any printed notes about my case in front of him. One person gave me a reference number; the next person did not WANT me to give him my reference number. All said they would take care of my problem. None actually did. One said it would be "taken care of in 24 - 48 hours" by their technical team. It wasn't. I was told I would be contacted as a follow up. I wasn't.

I have repeatedly been denied when I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was denied when I requested that I be allowed to speak to someone from my own country. "EBay is global," they told me. I have been sent to the SALES DEPARTMENT for my technical problem. The SALES DEPT. guy had me go through the entire story before he admitted he was probably not the right department for me. One agent hung up on me. Twice I was sent to automated oblivion, listening over and over and over to how someone "would be with me in just a minute." Fifteen minutes later, they still hadn't picked up.

My recent customer experiences with eBay has been like entering The Twilight Zone - the story where I am forever awaiting the one competent customer service employee. Instead, all the robots can do is speak in a pleasant voice and issue blandishments and false reassurances. I nearly went mad. But I didn't. I must say, though, this is not the eBay customer service I have been used to receiving in the past. This is a newer, spazzed out customer service. They don't seem to know what they're doing but they take you along for the hayride anyway. Finally, when I called, the phone would ring once - then nothing. I tried this repeatedly. Ultimately I got a TECHNICAL PROBLEMS display.

Ebay - in its current convolution - has more than TECH PROBLEMS issues. It has an issue with totally bungling and mishandling calls. It displays a rampant disrespect for the valuable time of its sellers and buyers. It offers no exit from the craziness which is the current permutation of its customer care. There is nowhere you can go but back into the nest of promoted automatons who have no notion of taking ownership of a client's issues. This has been beyond disappointing. It has been provocative and dehumanizing. Shame on eBay.

I wanted to buy an expensive watch such as Breitling and a Hublot. I was not familiar with the millimeter diameter of watches. I wanted a larger watch (which is impossible by viewing the pics. So I ordered a Breitling 35MM which was so small. It fits my wife who weighed 110 pounds better than me a 200-pound man. I patted the shipping for the return the same day I received it and in the same condition. When I bought a Hublot, I made sure the MM was 44 which was the large size. The leather strap was to small and I could not make it any bigger, so again I returned in the same condition received it.

Then I got an email from Ebay saying they closed my account. When I asked for a reason, they said they did not have to give me one. When I asked for a manager to discuss why my account was closed permanently, they refused to let me speak to a supervisor. Now I spend 40k a year with Amazon which has wonderful people willing assist you. Now keep in mind I was only a buyer and never sold on Ebay and never returned anything I won in an auction. I also followed Ebay's return policies. STAY AWAY FROM EBAY THEY ARE RUDE, DO NOT CARE IF YOU'RE A CUSTOMER. Use Amazon a bunch better company. Reminds me of Circuit City/Best Buy... CC is out of biz (bad customer service). Best Buy is thriving. That's what I predict between EBay vs Amazon. And I can't wait till EBAY's stock goes to zero. It will. It's matter of time. You try to be nice and allow seller time to make a refund and the deadline passes for you the buyer to get that refund and you don't get it because EBAY's resolution center decides for the seller. Based on what? I did not receive my beauty item. I told seller I wanted a refund 3 weeks later but seller instead uses this stalling procedure of filing with the "resolution" center. And that's all it is, a stalling method so the deadlines will pass. What a racket. I'm out $9, glad it isn't more.

As for EBAY's feeble "you can appeal" --- there is no link to access this it's hiding apparently. Their money back guarantees are also a lie. Of course, this is just this particular seller -- others want to keep the customer from complaining but I got unlucky so here I am. Don't rely on EBAY to rule mercifully like God in your favor and beware of these little tactics. I can't believe that just saying I clearly wanted a refund was not enough. If a seller does not respond to anything right away, file a complaint with EBAY right away. Or as soon as a shipping deadline passes, ask for your money back and file a complaint, or both. I was robbed. Worse yet, you're made to feel like YOU are trying to steal from THEM. And yes, you can not leave negative feedback -- EBAY blocks it. Isn't that convenient?

They promptly handed me off to PayPal to dispute the case, but unknown to me at the time, PayPal doesn't protect buyers of gift cards. Anyway, PayPal allowed me to file a claim, which they shouldn't have, and when I was told by a PayPal rep that they don't resolve disputes regarding gift cards, eBay said too much time had passed and I was no longer able to dispute the transaction.

Ebay should have known that PayPal doesn't protect buyers of gift cards and PayPal also should have known not to make me waste my time trying to dispute a case that isn't covered. The eBay rep that could have done something told me I was right, but because time had expired, there was nothing he could do. Is that the kind of company you want to transact with? Incompetence galore, and the fact that they screwed up and didn't fix their mistake, and allowed a criminal to go forward without punishment tells me that they want me to tell the world about it. Beware and never spend big money on eBay, and especially don't buy anything like gift cards on eBay. If you get screwed, they will give you the runaround and will not help you in any way.

I am going to go on a lengthy rant, as I am extremely frustrated with this terrible, TE-RR-IBLE site! I had huge plans to become a power seller, and to be able to be a successful entrepreneur relying on eBay as my main income. I work a terrible retail job, and hope to leave by the end of the year, just to chase my dreams of becoming a full time entrepreneur, and invest in different endorsements. I have been selling on eBay since 2013, as I started out small and had no intent at the time to fully invest in the site, but boy do I wish I sold a lot back then. I have been selling so many items on the site this year alone, as I was aiming to become a top rated seller, and to build my own company using eBay. Not only is this website extremely ** backwards, but has to be one of the most depressing, stressful, total grinding and stupidest site have EVER dealt with!

The fact that this STUPID company gives not a single crap about the seller, and sides with the buyers instead *confusing logic right there* really has me scratching and shaking my head in total confusion, as to who the hell is running this place. They have completely destroyed the good reputation this site once had in the 90s-2007, and they have completely turned this site upside down. It is a complete mess, with this STUPID defect system that can destroy someone's account with few cases opened from unsatisfied buyers, who have no intent or common sense to read the listing properly, and all because they are as stupid as a brain dead monkey. There are even instances now where the buyer can actually blackmail, bully and torture the seller of leaving a neg feedback, if they don't get to keep the money and item. Crazy right?

I have no idea who in God's name is running this place, but they have completely screwed this company over. I have been below standard for 2 months now, due to silly customers not reading the listing properly and either giving me 2 star on item as described, or just opening a return because "they didn't like the item they purchased". I am absolutely disgusted with how this site is run now, and will be venturing to Amazon and other selling platforms. From what I hear, this stupid idiotic site is "looking to change things around to bring back sellers." *HAHAHAHA* Because yes when the changes come in effect by February next year, half of the sellers kicked off eBay, or just had enough with how poorly this site is run, would have jumped to Gumtree and Amazon.

The idiots eBay at this point are just giving sellers the opportunity to jump to another platform, which is much easier, and stress free to deal with, that being Amazon. I am at the point now, where I have to talk to my suppliers about the travesty that is going on, and what I plan to do. That being, that I will not be investing as much into eBay, and will invest full time into Amazon and other platforms. In my honest brutal opinion, if you are looking to become a full time online entrepreneur and looking for a platform to start on, please don't use eBay. I am warning people out there especially new sellers/beginners, as you will totally regret it, and it will screw you up financially. The customer service are like dead robots, as they don't care what you are going through, and will all tell you the exact misinformation that makes no ** sense whatsoever.

This company has completely committed suicide, and has just given people a good people to jump to other platforms. It is a total agonizing slow grind, also filled with butthurt competitors that will false report you, just to get rid of you on the site, idiot buyers, stupid defect system, and a bunch of other crap. Just don't waste your time on this site, and go to other platforms to start your business. This company is a complete mess, and they have completely screwed themselves over for favoring the buyer. I will not waste anymore of my time with this website. Rant over!

Should have listened to my gut... yesterday (Oct 18) the so called buyer was given her money back... what!! Well seems the item arrived slightly damaged even though it cost $150 to ship via UPS. We have been working with UPS to get her money for the damage and she has stated it was UPS' fault... UPS agreed and was sending her the money. She didn't get it fast enough for her, so she complained to eBay and they gave her back all her money.

PayPal (the payment arm of eBay) took the money directly out of my checking account without my authority. My profit went from $111 to a big negative $190.98. Doesn't seem eBay cares about sellers, only buyers. The item was not new, but 24 years old and used. The original ad specified some damage to pedestal... she claimed item was not what was presented, but pictures show it was exactly what she bought. I have been given the run around and platitudes from eBay and PayPal, but the final verdict always sides with the buyer, no matter the proof.

Ebay will always side with the buyer. I have been selling for 6 years on Ebay. Never had a problem and I am " above standard". I sell mostly higher end clothing and accessories. I had listed a pre owned Fendi purse. I had 12 pictures showing the small damage to the front. I had a very detailed description. I could not have been more clear that there was a small ink stain to the front of the cream colored leather. A newer buyer bid on it with 25 minutes remaining. She then emailed me and told me she only could see one photo on her iPhone and the purse "looked fine". I emailed her back and let her know I had 12 pics listed and to look again to make sure she saw the stain. Sure enough the day she got it she started a "return claim". She said the purse was "thrashed and ruined". It's not and I have pictures to prove I did not "misrepresent it".

I said to send it back and I would refund her. That wasn't good enough for her and she demanded I send her a return label. I don't use them and I should not have to pay for return shipping. I did not escalate it to Ebay and as I know this will be in the buyer's favor no matter what I did. I finally relented and opted for eBay to send her the return label. Of course they sent her the wrong kind. The buyer is simply going ballistic. I called Ebay, was transferred 3 times and to people who didn't grasp the English language well, who told me to go to USPS and send her one myself and nothing they could do about the buyer emailing me 3-4 times a day at all hours of the day and night.

The buyer in meantime has reported me for saying I'd report her for her insane emails. She has also opened up a 2nd claim because now she wants Ebay to decide "who is right and who is wrong". This is ridiculous. You shouldn't be able to open a 2nd case if you have one open and I already agreed to let her return it. Meanwhile PayPal has my account suspended. I am sure my seller rating will go down. Ebay sends messages saying to "let them know how I want to proceed" but there is no reply button to let them know. I think this return policy is stupid. If you say "no returns" Ebay can override it and let the buyer return it anyway and you have to deal with whatever insanity the buyer wants to dish out. This whole deal has made me rethink using eBay in any capacity.

I bought about 6 MK purses from EBAY in May totaling about 80.00. Now, I didn't expect them to be authentic for that price, but from the pictures they looked close. I paid for the items and within 2 days, I was sent a message stating the items had been removed from their site because the seller's account was hacked. Really??? I got my money back and I found a few more about a month later totaling about 50.00. Same thing - I didn't expect it to be authentic for the price I was paying. Like clockwork 2 days later EBAY states the different seller's accnt had been hacked. At this point I am not pretty mad but got my money back. Last month, a different seller had 2 purses totaling about 31.00 - same thing, didn't expect them to be authentic. I grabbed these for a gift. These were taken down from the site but shipped anyway. One went to Andover, MN and the other to Chicago, IL. I clearly live in Texas.

I called EBAY about this and they said that the only thing I could do was get a refund. Really??? So they issued a refund. Earlier this week (Monday) I bought another AFTER emailing the seller for 21.00. I called EBAY today because the seller had not marked it paid or shipped. EBAY tells me that some buyer reported it for not being authentic - DUH!!! 21.00 and it's supposed to be authentic??? Really? So I was told to contact PayPal, who obviously cannot do anything but they told me to email the seller. Really? Isn't that against their policy?

I am tired of EBAY's constant runaround for these MK purses. I do understand that at the price listed, they may not be authentic. People really. If the average MK purse is about 150-200 dollars do you think a 20 dollar purse is real? Maybe - maybe not. This is the ONLY product I have a problem with on EBAY. Coach purses, Prada, etc that I have ordered never had this type of issue - same thing, maybe real - maybe not. The price might just be because it is collecting dust in someone's closet and they want some money for it. EBAY needs a better firewall system to prevent 'hacks'. And seriously people - if the purse is 20.00 for the love of everything holy - IT PROBABLY ISN'T REAL!!! So for the rest of us quit reporting them as not real. Maybe some of us don't really care.

The second thing, I asked him to cancel my order he said that I will have to contact to reseller. It means there is no role of eBay.. So my question is simple - You guys don't have any role then why should customer purchase any item from your company. If I am purchasing any item from other eCommerce company they take the full responsibility. If customer want to cancel any item they refund the money to customer account. I am not saying eBay need to change the rule while I am saying customer don't need to purchase any item from eBay because they just third party that's it. @customer - If you buy any item from eBay you will lose your money.

On eBay you will see an increase in sales, but the downside is eBay gives the buyer the sky's the limit to complain about anything. And the eBay buyer will take full advantage of that knowing that he/she could say anything he likes, wants and get his money back or get the item for free. It doesn't matter if your ad is 100% under the terms of eBay. eBay will always find a reason to go in the buyer's favor no matter what the item costs you as a seller. You will lose!

I have made a lot of money on eBay and lost a lot money as well on eBay. When you sell from your own website you get good customers that buy good products at a good price. You will see once you start selling on eBay. Your email will be overwhelmed by people complaining about nothing. They buy stuff without even reading the ad, knowing that if they don't like it "o" well I can send it back. That's okay if you're a major corporation. You can absorb those fees. I'm finding out eBay is not great selling platform. Out of 100 transactions on eBay, I would say one out of ten complain about something that have to do with nothing. Remember each complaint you have to deal with is a loss of money. No matter how you look at it time is money for a business. So you losing!

Even if the customer does not like your pricing he can leave a very bad negative feedback on your page for no reason at all. eBay will not remove it at all and justify it by being on the buyer side telling you as a seller you need to go kiss the eBay buyer ass and ask them to remove it. As a seller you cannot: reply to or leave a negative feedback on the buyer page at all! eBay say we don't encourage leaving negative feedback on the buyer page and you can't do it. They have removed that option from the seller capability (that means you cant say anything) and the buyer can Massacre you for no reason on your page.

So let say you offering a great product with free shipping, right well just think about when the customer get the order. eBay customer can say anything they like. eBay will not care what the items is. They will always side with the buyer 100%. So now that free shipping item has to be ship back to you at your cost. Now your out the cost of the unit, plus shipping and handling to them and now back to you plus you have to give the money back to the buyer. Plus you still have to buy eBay fee! THAT EBAY 101. LEARN IT, REMEMBER IT OR IT WILL ** YOU IN THE END! If you are seller on eBay,eBay will not support you at all. You can spend countless hours on the phone with them. eBay looks at the seller as being the second-best.

This note is for EBAY sellers; this is what I do if eBay goes in the buyer's favor. Remember you have all the pertinent information of the seller from the paypal.com invoice. Use that pertinent information. What I do is after eBay refund the money back to the buyer, I forward the order over to a collection agency for full payment. eBay can only control what happens on eBay, not what happens in the real world. If it's legitimate order, an honest order, everything is on the up-and-up. As a seller you have every right to be paid for that Item. That order was filed, shipped and was 100% intact. Then you as a seller deserve to be pay 100% no matter what eBay say!

As of now I'm not putting up any more orders up on eBay. I'm finding out it's better to have your own website and sell your products from your own website like I have be doing for 15 years now but thought I would try eBay out. All was good at first but the more order the more problems for eBay. You're in business for control. eBay take away your power as a business owner and turn you back into a employee! That's why we started are own business to be in control and not take order from an ** like eBay and their ** customer! I hope this help!

I've never dealt with eBay before. I just wanted a certain radio and I was sent to eBay. I ordered the radio and it came from Germany, and eBay had listed the radio as used and by eBay's conditions says when it's used it has to work! Then under that it says for parts. That's a radio that doesn't work. It used for parts! The radio I received was for parts only but was put in the used section! I told them what I received and because the seller didn't want to take it back I can't get my money back, and the seller filed a case on me, and I lost! So I have to appeal to get my money back, and I thought I had the right that if I was sent something I didn't order I was protected by eBay, and that I could send it back in fourteen days, or an exchange! The seller knew somebody at eBay because eBay didn't call me with the decision! I found out days later! And I told them I want my money back and why I can't get my money back!

This was my first time dealing with eBay. Even if I don't get my money back I want people to know, and if you do use eBay, NEW means NEW, USED!, means it works. FOR PART, means item doesn't works! And that's what eBay did gave me something falling apart in my hands, can't be repaired! And these terms are eBay's conditions. I bought something I expected to use and they committed fraud! Giving me something from the FOR PARTS ONLY. I didn't ask for that. What do I do? I have the seller's message stating the radio don't work and in the same message that the radio does work! They didn't even send me the plug that went with it and the radio fell apart in my hand! Don't let this be you!

Ebay has became the most horrible/nightmare place for sellers. They treat us like CRAP. I been selling on eBay for 7 years. Yesterday they decided to close 4 of my listing that has been intact for past 4 years with 100s of items sold, claiming it violate their terms! After 4 years and 100s of items, they say my listing violated their TOS. COULDN'T THEY SHOOT ME A COURTESY EMAIL TO FIX THE ISSUE within 24 hours!! They waited 4 years. Couldn't they wait 24 hours! I'm a top rated seller and a PowerSeller. When I called them they refused to even negotiate, then they asked me to edit the listing and relist. What about my item sold history that show 100s of items sold that give confidence and trust to the buyer!! They said they can't do anything about that!

Now all of my listing are ranked down. Add to that I have a 100% feedback with 1000s of positive feedback. Is this how you treat professional top sellers? We are shifting all of our business to Bonanza now. We have been selling way more on Bonanza than eBay anyways. No wonder eBay is losing market share to other marketplace. I'm done with eBay for good. It's not the 1st time they do that. They have no respect nor appreciation for their top rated sellers.

I had typed on the tracking number and updated it immediately showing it was in transit - listing stated economy shipping - sent ups ground. I contacted eBay about the problem and they said I needed to request a return. When I received the item, after having to pay for return shipping charges, I knew right away that my item had been switched by the buyer. When I again contacted eBay, they insisted that I reimburse the buyer in full. I have been selling on eBay for four years with stellar feedback from my many repeat buyers. How can they let this obvious scammer get away with something like this? It is no longer safe for buyers to sell on this site since they only protect buyers, and the devious ones are aware of this procedure.

I find it scandalous that eBay keeps a "small fee" from each and every sale you make. That part’s understandable. The scandalous part for me comes along with how they TAKE another LARGE amount monthly, based on your total sales. For example they take about 70 cents per 12.00 or so, which is fine. But for a couple to three hundred dollars they took almost 90.00?! I don't understand that. It is not their product. They already get to take a small fee to hold your photos of products selling. They also, WITHOUT contacting me, but because a random stranger reported my Louis Vuitton bag as fake, took it down. It's NOT fake. It's real from Paris as a gift from a previous neighbor. It has only a month left on the site & been up 2 mos. I lowered its price by 600.00, trying to sell it to pay toward my college debt.

I'm a single parent of 5 kids, literally scraping by. I finally had a "watcher", an interest, & without question or contacting me, they took it down. Plus in the email, reminded me that I still owe on the fees for having it up & if I sell another fake item I'll be suspended. It ISN'T even fake! And as for the large chunk of money they take, really for no reason, is hard to process. I don't even print their labels. It's a ripoff. Why are they allowed to take so much?

They have been ripping my auctions, sending me all kinds of BS in my emails, fees are outrageous. It used to be eBay was a fun buying and selling community, but now it's all about how rich eBay can get at the little guy's expense.

I'm done with Feebay and I hope others drop eBay also. At least the fat cats in eBay headquarters are eating well at our expense these days. Let me start by saying that I will NEVER use Ebay.com again for selling OR buying. I would encourage others to do the same because they have NO PROTECTION for sellers AT ALL. Oh I know they lie and pretend as if they do. But they couldn't care less about sellers. They treat sellers like complete trash in favor of their precious buyers whom they think can do no wrong.

You see, I am not a power seller or top rated seller. I am someone who occasionally sells antiques from my own collection when I need extra cash. I list all of my items very accurately and describe the condition in detail. I take tons of photos from every different angle, and also provide extra photos or info for anyone who asks. I make it very clear in the listing that I will provide photos, info or answer any questions anyone may have, if they are unsure of the condition on any of my items. I have been a seller for 4 years and never had a problem until the last buyer.

The buyer in question paid for the item on the night of the auction end. I mailed it out the next day using Priority mail. The buyer received it within 2 days, then immediately sent me a message that night accusing me of selling junk and demanding to know what I was going to do about it. He was complaining about the exact damage and flaws I listed in the description. He obviously DID NOT read the description or view the photos at all! I refused a refund or a return because the buyer did not read the description or view the photos.

The buyer left negative feedback and began to harass me on Ebay.com. I reported it to Ebay.com - nothing was done. I reported him twice more for harassment. Still, nothing was done. Finally, the buyer opens a return case for ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED, when it was 100% as described! Again, I completely refuse a return or a refund, because I am NOT paying return shipping just because he was too stupid to read or view photos.

A week goes by, and I hear nothing until the buyer escalates the case. Ebay.com NEVER asked for my side of the story. They did not ask for any info at all from me. They also did not view the item listing! They ruled in favor of the buyer with no word from me. Now they want the buyer to return the item and they will take the money out of my account to pay him back. And they have the nerve to say I might have to pay return shipping?! Absolutely not. I will take them to court before I'll pay return shipping!!

I am livid and completely disgusted with this company. I will never use Ebay.com again for selling, buying, nor will I even browse the site ever again! If you are considering selling on Ebay.com - DON'T! They will ALWAYS side with the buyer, even when the buyer is wrong. Sellers have no protection at all. After being a member for 10 years and a seller for 4 years, I am closing my account on Ebay.com and will never return! I encourage everyone else to do the same. There are better selling sites out there that are much more seller friendly, with lower fees!

Until 6 months ago, I was long time seller with over 6K feedback - I sold new and pre-owned better name and luxury goods; I also spent several thousand dollars per year shopping on Ebay. It all came to a quick halt in Dec 2015 - a miserable buyer that had defrauded other sellers, purchased a 1.2K new with tag dress from me. Two weeks after it was delivered, ** sent a message stating the new with tag (and fully insured) dress arrived with 2" tear. She opened a case, Ebay sided with her. They "ordered" me to take the return.

I closed my Ebay store & Paypal account and haven't looked back. EBay can keep this thief that only buys things she can't afford and uses Ebay to steal them from innocent sellers. They lost not only a seller, but someone that used to be a customer as well; in 2014 I spent almost 9K on Ebay - they kept a woman that spends under 1K and stole half of that yet chose her over me. I now do most of my shopping on Amazon or other platforms, I sell my better items on sites with traffic and seller protection, and am infinitely more happier because of it!

eBay Inc. appears to encourage fraudulent activity. Customer service representatives appear to be trained or are encouraged to be deceptive and rude. The origin of my problems with eBay's policies, procedures, and their customer service representatives date back to the most recent incident that occurred on September 9th and is still ongoing as of today (9-28-2015) and with no resolution to any of our issues. eBay allowed this customer to make what is called a "guest" account. From what I have been told a "guest" account is a temporary, and not completely authenticated, eBay account. It's a kind of place holder account allowed to be made so that anyone without a prior account can make a purchase on eBay, if they so choose, can be turned into a fully functional "registered" account.

I will give the example of my most recent interaction with a customer who opened up one such "guest" account and purchased an item from me and later opened up a "SNAD" or "Significantly Not As Described Case" against me.

A customer opened up a guest account and ordered an item from me on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 which is also the date their account was opened. This person claimed that they are new to eBay which is untrue and they also lied about their identity. The e-mail address used to register their eBay account is owned by a differently named person than the name used to register the account. Ex: Account name holder is "A" but the e-mail address registered to the account is actually owned by "B" and "B" is the one who is using the account and making purchases. More than one eBay rep has confirmed that the customer "B" is lying about their identity and fraudulently claiming to be "A". They have had multiple accounts shut down in the past for doing bad things and just recently had their privileges restored and created this new "guest" account.

So, this "new" eBay user received their package via FedEx on said day at around 2PM and through the delivery confirmation signature it proves again that the customer lied about their identity when registering their eBay account and shows the recipient of the package at that time is indeed "B" and definitely not "A". After the package was received, a return request case was opened up 20 mins later with customer stating that the item was received damaged. Within this return request was a message from the fraudulent customer stating that they already had a broken typewriter.

I have been selling on eBay for years now and normally when a message contains such a statement, along with all of the other clear cut lies, it throws up a red flag to eBay and with that information eBay tends to open up an investigation into an account with the possibility to shut it down permanently. That has not been the case in this situation. The fact that simply opening an account in someone else’s name is in direct violation with eBay's own policies and guidelines and yet somehow eBay has been refusing to open up an investigation into this person's account even though they actually said they would, on multiple occasions, do so but have failed to follow through to completion.

I have contacted eBay in regards to this issue so many times I now have pages full of reference numbers to phone calls and would gladly provide them upon request. In fact, they keep stating in subsequent Phone calls, that no investigation had ever been opened. On top of that, all notes made by these representatives regarding this issue have been disappearing from one phone call to the next. The majority of the representatives I have spoken to have consistently lied about taking action against this obviously fraudulent account that I suspect to be conducting criminal activities.

If eBay would just follow their own guidelines, none of this transaction would have been an issue for me or them. This has affected my eBay seller account negatively, subsequently frozen my PayPal account funds, and has gotten me in trouble at my part-time job. This customer opened up a fraudulent account under a name other than their own, has consistently lied, and eBay continues to ignore this.

Resolution seeked: Correction to eBay's current policies and procedures on how best to handle a "Significantly Not As Described" case opened by a Buyer against a Seller need to be addressed and corrections need to be made in order for a problem like this to never again arise. Fraudulent accounts hurt everyone involved and could be avoided if revisions were made to their guidelines. I would also like them to release the hold on the funds I received from this transaction. As it is not my fault that a fraudulent purchase was made from me. I do not condone fraud or possible criminal behavior and expect eBay to feel the same way.

I have 480 100%+ reviews on eBay and I thought it was so good as I was mainly a buyer. When I started to use it to sell things I saw the other face of eBay and Paypal: A buyer can open a return case with no real evidence item is not working (a monitor in this case) and this freezes your Paypal payments. You sort it between you and buyer but because the buyer then cannot bother going to eBay and close the case you cannot do anything about it. Here is the note on eBay "The buyer requested a return because there's something wrong with the item. Please take action by 23 Sep. Your PayPal funds from this purchase will be unavailable while this request is open." Today is 26th and still the same.

PayPal won't release the money because the case is still open! They listened to a buyer who cannot bother to know if the monitor had a switch to turn on! In my fiances case, anyone can leave a bad review as bad as calling the seller "waste of space, liar and dishonest " because again the buyer cannot bother to read "Spare part" the item description. Anyone cannot leave horrible review and bullying emails to seller (my fiance again) claiming item was broken though buyer refuses to return the item. eBay says people can leave comments about how they feel. I think eBay opens a space for bullying and financial damage (if you are business seller) with no real check on the problem. I feel eBay is **. How is that?

I sold an item £51 and the fee I paid £2.85 PayPal. It is more than 5%. Apparently charges on micropayments! To avoid this charge you cannot change your settings or chose an option to accept cash pay. eBay says I have to use PayPal. I chat with eBay online rep. I ask for if there is a management or head office address/email to write to so they can know about our comments. No information and the rep went offline! Why is eBay so secretive and hiding themselves? How can they be allowed to provide a service but they cannot be reached to receive customer comments. They must be arrogant if they are thinking, the options for customer service they offer are good enough and you are not valued enough to have a customer service desk and real people. Sort yourselves EBAY and PAYPAL!

Just know it is getting increasing difficult to sell and purchase on eBay. Selling, because you're just not sure if the buyer approves of their item due to not too clear pics and buyers at times do not read. I have never had an issue selling but I encourage everyone to read the description and whatever else is offered about product. Buying, because items are not as described. Recently, I contacted a seller. She became unhinged and was playing a victim over me being unhappy with the frayed torn item she described as "excellent condition." Just note frayed and torn was not the look, just clearly a very worn and grubby item the seller tried to pass off as "excellent condition." Seller did not apologize, she wrote it off like I was difficult and she did nothing wrong, and did not seem to worry about the time I had to spend sending back the trash item I received.

Advice: If Selling, be honest, I can assure you someone is going to need what you have at some point. Buyer, make sure seller has a good rating and is honest as well, read feedback!!! Even if they have a rating of.. say 534, and 1 negative review stating, the seller is whacked, click and go to the next item, because most likely you'll be number 2, like me!!! So sorry to read the other reviews here, having gotten ripped off and eBay did nothing.

Buyer returned Merchandise Broken and Not all there. eBay gave her the refund without consulting me first. I had not had time to even open the packages. eBay stated that once the item is back in the hands of the seller, they go ahead and refund to the Buyer. Then they charged it back to my account. This statement is a false one, because, I returned an airbrush make-up kit to a Buyer that did not work right. They did not refund my money until the Buyer checked it out, to see it was not working correctly. Now, I am told, I can not get any compensation on any of my jewelry that is broken and missing.

I have been with eBay 14 years selling and buying. My Feedback score is 100% and I am above standard. The customer, that bought the Lot of Jewelry, had just joined this year in Jan 2015 and had 3 negatives already! She Bought 1,500 pieces of costume jewelry with some silver, Vintage to 1980's. I reduced the lot to half for her, and paid for the postage, too. When she asked to return it, she wanted me to pay for the Postage back. eBay has charged me with $265.00. My bill was 0. I was paying what I owed to get off, since nothing would be done to help me with some of my money that went down the tubes. I think she broke the jewelry and took some because, she was mad about the postage? This has been a nightmare.

I am adding emails that eBay sent to me after the fact. She returned the jewelry, because she just decided she did not want it. She said all of it was not there. I had pictures to prove it, Lots of Pictures, and I had the count. The weight on my boxes and the weight she sent them back together. One of my boxes was 8 pound short and the larger one was 10 pounds short. They did not even care to acknowledge me with anything but the bill. I closed my Paypal acct, so they could not get into my bank acct. and I will not pay this full amount plus the postage back. That is what they have billed me with. I was on the phone with them 3 different times before she sent it back and I was promised I would certainly not have to pay the postage, but they have charge me with it! They do not stand behind their sellers and they have certainly lost me!

I would like to know how many eBay members have had the same problem selling an item as I have. I have listed a high-end watch 3 times on eBay - and after it sold, as usual, I sent an invoice. Then, eBay sends me an email stating that someone actually hijacked the buyer's account and the item is not sold after all. The 'party line' is that eBay is 'protecting the seller' by removing and cancelling the sale and reimbursing any fees (I would hope so). Then they state that to prevent this type of activity, you should 'request immediate payment'. Well - lo and behold - in order to have access to THAT feature - you need to upgrade to a Premier Account, or a Business Account - which of course, is more expensive.

So - I think eBay needs to have all the sellers and buyers that this has EVER happened to comment here so the IT Department and the executives prevent this from happening again. Do I want to continue to keep selling on eBay - not if I keep getting fraudulent buyers. Speak up everyone - for a company worth a lot of money - it doesn't sound like they are protecting anyone unless you pay for it!!!

Ordered replacement screen and digitizer for Samsung S4 phone. Received screen and after testing screen before installing found screen lighting up. Removed battery and proceeded to install screen in frame. Installation was performed same as numerous installations before. After installation, screen failed to function. Upon finding screen failure, contacted seller and explained screen failure. Right away failure was my fault, something I had done wrong.

I returned item right following EBAY procedures. Also called EBAY and explained situation to EBAY representative. I was that I would receive refund by 09/29/2015. Seller received screen, filed case stating he did not receive item as was shipped. Also included picture showing tear in ribbon which he stated was problem with screen and stated that I had caused this damage! When I packaged item to return, I saw no visual damage to screen or ribbon.

EBAY after hearing his complaint immediately ruled in his favor and left me $69.95 in the hole. Had to order another screen to repair phone. How can a company like EBAY rule in seller's favor without giving buyer a chance to defend himself. Anyways lesson learned, if you open case against seller on EBAY, seller's complaint is all that counts. Justice not served! Buyer not happy!

If you get the urge and see something you THINK you like... just go to a regular store and buy it. At least then you get something for your money. The eBay people say, "Go to your pay pal account." Borlee i3 3D Printer DIY - I had an unfortunate experience with this very bad seller. I bought the printer in a hope that it would be a nice experience to assemble something like that since I am an experienced engineer. Oh boy how wrong I was!! To start with, let me tell you that the parts of this printer DIY kit are printed with the same poor quality printer. SD card that came with it had to have the manual, but it was so much damaged that I could not retrieve half of the files from it. So, no good manual, I had to dig for it online. The frame did not have all the holes aligned so some parts became crooked when installed. Cables to power the Z axis motor would barely fit into the holes. Final issue that put a fat dot for me was that the extruder would not properly extrude the filament. Yada yada yada, long story short - the printer was a piece of crap.

So I contacted support and had a very long email thread with them. They would go back and forth with me asking me to do this and that but nothing helped. We solve one issue - another issue arises. We solve that, another one is on the way. So I got very tired and pissed off and opened a request to return this piece of crap to them but they talked me into closing the request and promised they would help me with everything. BIG MISTAKE! Don't ever close the return request with eBay unless you are absolutely fully satisfied with support from the seller. You will never be able to re-open it. This is another thing eBay is not good about.

So then I called eBay and of course no help from them (who would doubt?), they suggested me to open a dispute with PayPal, which I did. So another long thread of emails with the seller and they said that I had to return the item to China. WHOA!!! What?? It was marked as "US Only" and the item was shipped to me from California. Turns out they just have a warehouse in California but the company is in China. So, yes another trick they play with their customers. And they don't want to pay the shipping cost back. Huh?? Really? So after some time they agreed to pay the shipping cost but they want the printer to be sent in the original packaging, which is obviously not going to happen because I am not spending another day disassembling it. So the moral of this story is that if you want some pain in the butt, buy stuff from this seller. But if you want to save time and sanity, don't deal with these people.

I purchased a 10 oz Silver bar from a scammer on eBay. This seller listed a bunch of these same exact items, for a good price, and a buy it now format. This all for a quick sale, quick money for him with no intention to deliver. Checked his previous selling record, after the purchase. He didn't have a sale for 6 months prior, then all of a sudden threw a bunch of expensive items all in 1 day. The seller quickly marked item shipped with no tracking, and listing said expedited shipping (which should take no more than 4 days), but eBay estimated shipping date a lot longer. More time for the scammer to get a way with this. I was getting worried about this situation, so I checked his account, and seen others were having same problem with him.

They said no delivery and no response to e-mails sent.. So I finally e-mailed the seller. Surprisingly, got a quick response. His response was, he was in the ICU for a week and a half. Let me note, items were posted 6 days prior to his response to me. So I guess they let you have laptops in the ICU nowadays. He also in his e-mail said that he was in bad shape, and spent our money for his medical bills. Funny or just disgusting. Also, within the email, it said "file claim with eBay to get money back".. So obviously, he has no intention to repay anybody. Or sending the item. So I called eBay (4 times) about issue, and got different answers from each customer service rep. All they could say was wait for a response from seller to resolve the issue. I got one already. Wait for what? He said I stole your money and I'm not getting it back. Doesn't eBay have anybody with sense to take care of this obvious scam?

eBay can check e-mails, they see all this. And they say wait. Just total bs from eBay. So, the conclusion of the story is, there are many con artists on eBay. eBay offers money back guarantee, but you have to wait a long time to get it back. A lot longer than you should. eBay's policies just support the scammer. There are a lot on there, and will be many more. Beware of it. And something has to change with eBay, or things will just get worse. Their customer service went down the tubes as they are no help because of their incompetence.

BEWARE OF A COMPANY THAT GOES BY "VEGASBESTPICKS" or "TODAYSBESTPICKS". The sellers are BAD NEWS! I paid $825 USD to this company based in Henderson Las Vegas for a Brand New Nikon D7200 on eBay. They took my money and never sent the camera. They posted shipped but never provided a tracking number. I emailed them the next day and they advised me it was shown as shipped by mistake and that there was a problem with shipping. They said they had computer problems and couldn't get in contact with anyone. After 6 emails full of excuses why they still didn't ship, they tell me they would send it overnight mail. Guess what? Nothing.

Since then they never answered any emails anymore. I checked their feedback and seen another eBayer a few days before me bought the exact same camera and filed a complaint that they never received it either. So, I file a complaint and eBay tells me I have to wait 3 business days for the seller to refund my money! I sent them all the correspondences between me and the seller, so they seen all the lies, and they also seen that the other buyer never received the item or a refund from the seller either. But they still insist they need to give the seller the "benefit of the doubt" that they possibly don't check their eBay account daily, and we need to wait out the 3 business days.

All **, because the seller has no intention of refunding anyone. The buyer protection plan penalizes the victim, and the fraudulent seller is given a reprieve. I told eBay, they should refund my money and they can sit around for 3 business days and wait for the seller to refund them! Of course their response, "That's not our policies." eBay sucks when it comes time to help victims of a fraudulent sale.

As a relatively new and very small seller I had a perfect 100% rating with 18 successful sales of antiques and jewelry. I always tried hard to provide multiple closeup pictures with very detailed descriptions, and above all else I always strive to be VERY HONEST. I stay in contact with my buyer from the point of sale, with a message thanking them for their purchase and clear shipping information, and as I state to all of my buyers, I always ship their item within one business day after their purchase, and purchase my postage through eBay and provide them with a tracking number.

A new buyer, who mysteriously happened to have just signed up for an account on the very day they purchased from me, purchased a very nice 10K gold bracelet from me that was CLEARLY MARKED ON THE INSIDE AS 10K! 10 days after they received their bracelet they gave me a negative feedback stating some lie that they took the bracelet to some "pawn shop" to have it tested and said it was fake gold, which I know was a total lie. Since I was a new seller and sell on a small scale for extra money, that negative feedback immediately dropped my 100% rating and my other glowing reviews from buyers down to 94%, from ONE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK THAT WAS TOTALLY UNTRUE!

I contacted the buyer and let her know that I had the bracelet tested at a JEWELER and it did indeed test to be 10K as it is marked and asked her why she was lying about it. She emails me back stating she had some paperwork from this pawn shop so I told her to email me that proof. She then emails me again and states that SHE IS NOT ASKING FOR A REFUND. Okay so she claims the bracelet is a fake, and she paid $150.00 for it but she does not want a refund, but she just decided to ruin me as a seller by her negative feedback. DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE???

I left a reply to her negative feedback stating that it is a lie and the bracelet is 10K and SELLERS BEWARE AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE! I believe that she may also have another account that she sells under, which my bracelet will probably end up being sold for higher than she paid for it, and she is trying to smear me as a competitor but I have no way of proving this and Ebay doesn't care, as they treat their sellers like crap, and make it so easy for unscrupulous buyers to get away with such things.

I contacted Ebay customer service and explained this entire miserable experience with this buyer, and told them she was lying and had badly damaged my perfect seller rating, and requested that her false negative feedback be removed on me as a seller. The only support I basically got from Ebay was them telling me that they would not remove it, and basically that my reply to her false negative feedback would show buyers that I could be trusted. So as all other sellers who have been making complaints here about being treated horribly by Ebay as a seller, basically what I got from them is that buyers are free to do whatever they want, and sellers have no recourse. Why should they care when they made their money off of me as a seller, and some other unsuspecting new seller will come along and take my place when I close my account. There is no way that anyone will buy from me now with a 94% rating so I might as well close my account.

There are ways that Ebay could protect us sellers against malicious buyers like this one but why should they when they are so big and mighty that they do not have to care as long as they got their cut from you as a seller? My hope is that one day soon Ebay is left with no sellers but the mass produced JUNK Chinese sellers, and that someone who cares about the sellers as well as the buyers takes their place for a small seller like me. As you can see from the pictures that I included, that this is a very well made and very fancy white gold bracelet, and this type of engraving is not done on cheap costume jewelry as I guess she is claiming this bracelet to be, instead of the fine piece of gold jewelry that it clearly is.

eBay helped us to list all of our products over a 3 month period as we had account technical difficulties. We had almost $4000 in total sales and had a 100% rating. eBay gave us an increase of 300 listings and $15,000 for sales on our account saying all our listings looked great and the descriptions were clear. We asked one day for a credit for free listings they offered as the time zone made it so we ran out of time. We now know the manager we spoke to upset we asked for a credit and was short with us. We were given without notice a 3 day suspension and eBay delisted over 80 of our listings of a total of 84 saying that our products are prohibited. eBay allows many other sellers to sell the brand Yocan portable Vaporizers for years and also has over 17,000 listings in the same category as us.

I guess looking back now we should of never complained or asked for help from eBay as this made a disgruntled employee destroy our lives and our online business which we worked very hard at and were proud of. We are on disability and spent all our borrowed money from friends and family on supplies of products and now are being evicted from our home and have no money to pay for supplies that are on their way. ** I have submitted before but have to tell my story again to help relieve the stress as I suffer from Bipolar disorder.

eBay or Goliath has unfair business practices as they allow many other sellers to sell the same products and just uses the excuses of prohibited to get rid of sellers they feel need too much support or complain too much. Our shipping calculator for the US did not work ever is why eBay helped to list all of these products they now say are prohibited. Our drop down menu did not work ever although it worked for eBay.com but not for eBay.ca.

We also had buyers say they could not buy because our account was blocked and unable to receive funds although eBay and PayPal said nothing was wrong with the buyers or the sellers account. eBay allowed us to sell on their site and knew what our products were. They lead us on until we got deeper and deeper in debt to buy more products as everything was going great. I suffer from depression and I am on the edge with nowhere left to turn. This should be illegal, what they are doing. They should have to stand behind the prohibited item story and delist the other 17,000 plus vaporizers and other Yocan sellers or relist us because we did nothing wrong and had many great reviews.

When sellers list "used" women's clothing and/or have a "shipping charge" with what they are selling, these sellers are being deceived by eBay. This is because eBay has deceptively and automatically "already" placed a check mark in the box to search only for "new" clothing with with "free shipping". This means when buyers go into women's clothing and go into the "category" of say: dresses, blouses, sweaters or skirts etc, the buyers are "not aware" they are seeing only "new" items with "free" shipping. For buyers to see "used" clothing or clothing "with" shipping charges, the buyer must be smart enough to know eBay is deceiving them by already "pre-checking" the boxes that causes them to see only "new" items with "free" shipping.

Most buyers do not know the boxes are checked, so they never see "used" clothing. Sellers of "used" clothing, or sellers who "charge" a shipping fee, should be "outraged". I am! I first thought it was an eBay "computer" error, so I called eBay today to fix it. But several people, one a supervisor, told me eBay has the right to automatically check these (hidden) boxes. These 2 people told me eBay makes more money this way, because most buyers want "new" clothing and "free" shipping, so eBay makes that the "default" in the buyers "search". This is not only a massive deception to sellers of used clothing, and new/used sellers that charge shipping fees, but it is also a massive deception on buyers, because eBay has a reputation and was built on "used" items (not new).

I was on eBay for over 6 years, compiled a 1000+, 100% positive feedback as a seller. Just recently they removed all my listings and said that my account was "indefinitely suspended" and called eBay after this unfolded. Talk to a woman that didn't hardly speak English and was transferred over to someone that handles the account suspensions. She looked into it and had me on hold for awhile, came back and told me my account was suspended because of an account I used 3 years ago to buy items and that was suspended for a completely different thing and decided to suspend my selling account because of it.

She then told me, "Your account was reviewed by a panel and it is suspended and cannot be undone." Hearing that completely pissed me off. Of all the hell I went through that damn site and all the stuff I sold and that's how I get treated. 4 years prior, I bought a vehicle on there and the guy was suspicious, but eBay told me I was protected by their so called "Buyer Protection Program" so I paid the guy for the vehicle. Weeks went by and kept getting the same old message, "I am injured and was in the hospital and will need more money to fix your vehicle." I made a mistake to buy a non running vehicle. So I told eBay and told me again that was protected.

So I sent him a little more and finally the guy's "fiance" messaged me saying he had an accident and was in a coma. So finally had enough of it and contacted eBay and they told me that I was no longer protected, after all THE MONEY I PUT INTO THIS VEHICLE, they didn't cover it! So I called my credit card company and I was able to get some of the money, but not all of it! After all the hell I went through with that, I still sold on eBay, only to get screwed over in the end. eBay is nothing but a pathetic joke! Never sell on that site! I have taken at least 14 hours a day for 2 months before listing my products to make sure all the listings were as professional in appearance as possible and the same amount of time everyday while I was selling. eBay also on a few occasions increased my selling limits saying my site looked great and we would soon be top rated sellers.

I only have a couple of items left on eBay and I am just waiting till I get my money from PayPal then I have to close down. If anybody is interested look at my listings and reviews you will see all of my work and the unfairness. I went by the name of **. I will probably be evicted before I get a response and do not expect any help. The product I specialized in was Yocan products. You will see many other sellers that have been around for a long time selling these products.

My wife and I had been sellers on eBay since 2003, and our rating was very good, with a 99.5% buyer approval rating. We received a notice from eBay stating that our account had been suspended, as we didn't conform with shipping policy. We tried to get them to explain exactly why we didn't conform with shipping policy as we had been a long time seller since 2003. All we got from them was the runaround, and customer support was speaking out of both sides of their mouth! They never told us what we did wrong, but said we would never be able to sell on eBay, yet our buyer account was still open. We never intend to buy anything from eBay again.

I try to give a fair assessment of eBay when I leave feedback. So I decide in all fairness give a seller who gave me poor service and a poor product a negative feedback. Bam, right away eBay stops my processing of the feedback and says I have to wait a additional 7 days in which to leave negative feedback as it gives the seller time to supposedly fix the problem. By the way it never ever gets fixed because eBay refuses to leave any negative feedback by the buyer in question, which is namely me. Call that fair and impartial. Hell no.

I have a right to complain about inferior service or inferior items delivered to my home. To me eBay does what they want to do disregarding the buyers in everyday and form. Money is the ultimate goal of eBay not customer satisfaction. eBay makes it extremely hard to even complain about anything as they completely changed their eBay website making it extremely difficult to navigate to where you want to go. And you wonder why people go elsewhere for goods. :(

I recently sold some very rare and valuable items to an eBay buyer. He writes me and tells me that two of the rarest items he purchased were not in the package. I knew he was either mistaken. We do the requisite back and forth with no resolution so he opens a case against me. How can I prove that I sent them and he did get them!?! eBay never contacted me about proof of package weight, post office receipts, or anything else. To eBay, his word is all that was needed and they ruled in his favor the same day I asked them to help resolve the case.

The eBay seller program is so hostile to sellers that only big-volume sellers dare venture onto their site. Now I'm out shipping costs and the price of those two valuable items. I've seen other complaints about eBay's "item not as described" feature. Beware all you small-time sellers thinking of taking on eBay. In the end, the high fees (they are often referred to as 'feebay') and anti-seller stance are not worth the price of participation.

There is nothing I dislike more than eBay as a seller. No matter how good a seller you are, no matter that you have a 99% satisfaction rating, no matter what return policy you put or what you sell, the buyer is always right. My experience is putting a no return policy on brand new cell phones and customers on ebay forcefully returning them to be for bogus reasons. My favorite case was lost after 23 days of the customer having the phone. I get it returned to me with a cracked screen and my money was put on hold. I contacted customer support having strong confidence that the buyer was in the wrong, however they stated they received the item like that and it was my fault. After 23 days of ownership... I lost the case and ebay lost me as well. I am solely an Amazon seller from now on. After selling over $30,000.00 worth of merchandise I broke even due to scams and false seller protection. I hate you eBay, with a passion.

But if you have paid a shipping company (a third party) and have receipts that you have paid for a product to be shipped to the confirmed address, and provide this as proof to eBay, this is not considered proof that you sent the produce if the buyer lied and said they didn't receive it. Even though the buyer has no proof and you do have proof of shipping it eBay's terrible customer service will HARASS you and make you pay for an item you no longer have and now must pay for. Or they want YOU AS THE SELLER to pay extra for tracking as proof because proof that paid for shipping to the confirmed address is not sufficient. DON'T USE EBAY!! USE ANYONE ELSE BUT EBAY!!!

Besides that, after seeing so many complaints from sellers online, I videotaped the product condition as I was packing it and the extra packaging the P.O. clerk added. Told the buyer there was no refunds and found it hard to believe the screen was cracked. Ebay ignored my proof (video) and offered the buyer a refund and had him return laptop to wrong address.

I was able to go to the address where it was shipped (less than a mile). An elderly lady had possession of the unopened package. She was afraid to open and was waiting on her son to visit so that she could ship back. After opening the package, it was a totally different computer than the one that I shipped with the entire screen missing. WTF! Ebay offered no resolution in my favor. Just the scamming buyers. Ebay is simply a money grab...has been since its inception. Encourages and profits greatly from fraudulent practices, especially in the selling of illegal, counterfeit items and successfully hides behind its "venue only status," and treats its sellers with zero respect. Changes its policies constantly to only advantage itself. Potential buyers and sellers, seriously beware and understand the risk you assume on every transaction you engage in. Buyers especially should only fund their payments with major credit cards for the protections they afford against online fraud.

Ebay is an exceptionally frustrating organization to do business with and they are grossly overpriced. Their "buyer protection" program is a scammer’s paradise for dishonest people. Ebay tells you to accept the return (doesn't matter if the buyer returns it damaged--that's what they call a faulty return and you get to eat it), takes the money out of your account and when you want to appeal, they just say too bad. Ebay’s policies change every 6 months. It changes to give the buyer unfair advantages over the holidays, and then it gives the seller unfair advantages for the other 6 months of the year. It’s like they’re schizophrenic.

Ebay’s reps vary in usefulness. If you have a problem you end being routed over the seas where they are pretty much guaranteed to waste your time. They just keep repeating from their script and the answers don't even pertain to the issue at hand, also, they don't care and this is apparent in their demeanor. I have personally vowed to never sell anything on eBay again in my lifetime - and I've been a member with a 100% feedback rating - but I'm personally boycotting eBay and I sincerely hope more of you do as well.

I sold a speaker system to a buyer on eBay. They requested a return because "the item doesn't work." I tried to resolve the issue over email, but we were not able to do that. The item was mailed back to me, cosmetically damaged. The item worked perfectly upon receiving it back. I was very proactive with eBay about this whole situation, calling them before things escalated to a "Case" and prior to feedback being left asking them for advice. They suggested I contact the buyer and work out a partial refund. After bringing this up to the buyer, he became rude and terse and made threats to open a case. He refused to look at any of my pictures or documentation showing the damage. eBay closed the case in favor of the buyer, who immediately left a negative feedback rating stating that "the item was sent broken." Even though I followed their suggestions, I was penalized for it and eBay refuses to help.

Even though I can prove the system works perfectly, they refuse to see any proof saying the case was closed. How can you close a case without getting all of the needed information? I got the runaround from eBay about eBay policy this and policy that. The CSR could not give an answer to simple questions, but just kept referring to their policies. The end result: Buyer got a full refund, I have a cosmetically damaged system that works perfectly and the buyer left a fraudulent negative feedback. Does it matter that I can prove my case? Nope. eBay refuses to hear it. Be very careful when selling on eBay. You will get NO help whatsoever from that company. They will side with the buyer 99% of the time, no matter what. You are not important and they do not care to look at simple facts. You have been warned.

I sold a coat to an eBay buyer in the UK, he said it wasn't as described -- the fur was not authentic -- and wanted a refund. He said he would 'pick the threads' to prove it wasn't real fur. After speaking with the mfg and verifying the fur was fake I offered the buyer a full refund. Two weeks later he opened a case claiming I was refusing to refund him or send him a return shipping label. I responded to eBay stating all they had to do was look at our back and forth emails to see I wasn't refusing to refund him; and look at their own return policy to see that the buyer is supposed to contact the seller for their return policy. eBay responded that if I didn't supply the return label by Aug 10 they would refund the buyer regardless of whether he returned the coat or not. What??? I sent the return shipping label, cost $180, and eBay said as soon as tracking showed the coat was delivered they were going to issue a full refund.

I got the coat back the other day and the buyer not only opened a seam, he did it on the outside of the coat with a razor or knife and cut the leather not the seam, making it impossible to ever be resewn properly. I filed a claim against him and was told to send pictures of the damage. I did and got this response from eBay the next day:

Thank you for getting in touch with eBay customer service regarding the Not as Described case: ** that was filed for the leather jacket (item **) that you sold to **. I can see that you have received the item back but not as the same condition you sent them. I understand it can be really disheartening if item are not returned to you in the same condition you sent them, I can assure you we do not take these matters lightly. I have thoroughly reviewed all of the details of your case again today but please understand that I cannot overturn the appeal decision. Why have we denied your appeal? We confirmed that the buyer returned the item to you and as they are out of pocket for both the item and the payment we had to issue them with a refund.

As we didn't see the original item that you sent to the buyer and we didn't see the item the buyer returned to you, we are not in a position to take sides in these situations and verify who has the valid complaint. When we review eBay Money Back Guarantee cases, we have to be fair to buyers and sellers so we review the facts presented to us and make the most appropriate decision in accordance with our terms and conditions. How can you avoid this situation in the future? Ensure your items are listed as accurately as possible with lots of photos. Always ensure that you communicate with buyers before cases are filed or during cases and try to come to a resolution.

..."out of pocket for both the item and the payment" -- what does that mean? The buyer ruined a perfectly good Schott jacket, they should be out of pocket for it. Ebay didn't see the item before I sent it? What are all of those sales photos I uploaded? And if the buyer received the item damaged, wouldn't he have noted that in his complaint? Of course he would!!! And of course he didn't. Ensure my item has lots of photos? Did eBay even look at my ad? Of course they didn't. There is a photo that shows the exact spot on the back where this guy cut the seam open. I sent eBay before and after photos (attached) and they still refunded the buyer. Now I'm out the $180 I had to pay to get the jacket back, and as it is no longer salable. I'm also out the original cost I paid for the jacket.

This is unfortunate because now I have had to pull all of my funds out of my PayPal account and close it so eBay can't steal my money. And I have had to end all 200+ items I currently have for sale on eBay. EBay said they will not let me close my account because of the refund due that they gave to this guy. Guess I'll see you on Amazon!!!
