I bought one 256GB stick from this Ebay seller: victoryduanshop. I waited for 40 days to get it. When I copied the files, it kept showing error information. After I contacted with seller, seller insisted it was OK. When I wanted to return and seller wanted me to pay the shipping cost. I argued this was their quality problem not my problems. So seller only promised to pay C$2.00 to ship and promised me they would refund me when I sent the shipping receipt by email to them. I went to ship it using USPS with $2.32 on 02/20/2015 and USPS told me they delivered it on 02/024/2015. They refused to refund after I sent my receipt and insisted they would refund me when they received the returned product. Two months was passed and seller insisted he did not receive it. So refusing to refund me.
It is my fault try to buy something cheap. Now you are warned to stay away from this seller for low quality and unethical business practice. You get nothing and waste your money and time.

Bought an item on 4/2/15 with my PayPal that’s linked to my checking account. Cancelled the order about 15 mins after I purchased this product due to eBay bucks reward will be ready the next day (April 3, 2015). I got the refund for the 4/2/15 transaction, however when I purchased the product using eBay bucks on 4/3/15, the seller did not receive any notification saying that I bought the item. Called eBay and told them about the situation. They said eBay bucks money went through for the product I purchased. Then they tell me that I purchased the product on 4/2 and got a refund. I kept repeating to them that I’m not concerned about 4/2 transaction and told them to only focus on 4/3 transaction. I'm not sure why but they were literally confused and could not help me out.
I stayed on the phone for over 2 hours talking to MULTIPLE customer service representatives. ALL OF THEM HAVE LACK OF KNOWLEDGE. I’M SO ANGRY AND FRUSTRATED THAT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON. MONEY LEFT ON 4/3 AND ITEM WASN’T SENT OUT. IS THAT REALLY HARD TO NOTICE? WHY DOES IT TAKE 30 MINS TO FIND THE ISSUE? You said you see the transaction. I love eBay but I hope that I never call their customer service ever again. Horrible experience!!!!!

I just sold iPhone 5 on eBay and I check and double check before carefully shipping it out. The buyer later report the phone does not powered on. He quoted IMEI to me in the email which raise my suspicion. I figure if the internal were swap then surely there is no way I can verify if the returned phone was indeed my IMEI # or not. Call eBay, she told me eBay does not protect buyer from fraudulent return. What the **, you protected the buyer by refunding the money back but if I somehow could confirmed that the phone was indeed not mine, I can't do a damn thing. That is the last time I will be using eBay to sell my stuff. Curses them. They will if my pray are answer - going out of business in two years. Mark my word!!! PS: This is not the first time either. Something similar happen in almost the same way. Seller need protection too!!

Built up to 220 star with 100% positive feedback over a 12 month period. No negative feedback. I made sure that all ordered items had been posted and received before going away. So was surprised to find on returning to site in January that I had been restricted from selling. I have twice sent messages to customer services and they replied with "you have not met our minimum seller performance standards so this is reason for your restriction." I don't feel like I have been treated fairly on this occasion and would like to know how I can take this further.

I have been an Ebay Seller for over 15 years. It is currently my main source of income as I have built up an online business through a Ebay Store. This month I received a letter Suspending my account indefinitely. I have 100 percent positive reviews. Ebay immediately took down all of my listings and took off my seller's dashboard which lists sales etc. I have called Ebay requesting an explanation and was told "due to Security reasons they could NOT tell me why my account was suspended" or I am "below the standard of the Ebay family".
I am NOT a big business... just an individual. My sales are approximately 1800-2500 a month. I seek shoes and mail the shoes from Mexico. The only reason I can think of that they have shut down my account is because I am shipping from Mexico. However I have never had a package lost (slow in a couple of instances due to US Customs) but never lost and never a Negative review.

This week I received numerous dark and deeply abusive messages into my family inbox sent from the eBay servers to me from another user. These were really very threatening and deeply explicit and I am only thankful that no child ever got to see them. I attempted to report this abuse but in order to do so, we have to tell the system why we need to make contact. Once that was done, all means of reporting this disgusting material was blocked and all links to report this subject greyed out.
Eventually I managed to obtain a PIN number to call them by asking the system to provide answers to a complete innocent question and only then was the contact us link highlighted. It was clear that the ebay staff I spoke to had no intentions of doing anything whatsoever to stop this type of offensive material or even to take note of the ebay user who issued these messages. They simply disconnected the call and no further PIN number to telephone back was issued. We should all be concerned now at how this company is operating and regulated.
There is no law enforcement at all. Why are the authorities now so reluctant to prosecute and investigate this organisation when so many people are dissatisfied? This would never be allowed to happen with any other company but it seems that ebay has no authority regulation whatsoever. Had a child seen these messages it would have been deeply distressing and frightening given their content, and it is yet another indication that this is a website to be very wary of and to avoid joining while there are other methods of buying and selling goods. If they cannot regulate the content of their site either with what is being sold or in the messages they send through to families, then in my opinion their trading license should be revoked until a full outside investigation is made by law enforcement officers.

Customer knew eBay’s process and used it fully to not only avoid paying for the item but also lied on feedback. I even called eBay, proved my case beyond any shadow of doubt the customer was a complete liar. eBay awarded this person a refund. Mind you, they sent me an email saying they saw I did nothing wrong so they would refund the customer on them. I tried to disputes the negative lies on my feedback, proved it was lies... eBay again screws me in favor of the scumbag with very low rating, most of the ratings look fake anyway. eBay sucks for sellers!

I have had issues with eBay two times this month. I have been selling for some time. But a couple weeks ago one of my listings was sold internationally and I list only to sell within the US. I had to contact the buyer and let him know that I could not sell to them and it was not my fault. I was told there was a glitch that allowed them to bid on my item. He was extremely unhappy. No one at eBay seemed to know why this international sale was allowed to happen.
The next problem came when I received an email that my account had been suspended. It was due to a baby monitor that had been recalled. I was contacted when I first listed it and the listing had been removed. I was told that when I got the repair part I could relist it. After checking I found the repair part in the box. I relisted the item and it sold. A month later my account is suspended due to relisting the item. I contacted eBay and told them there is an error. I included the item needed to relist. They said they would check it and get back to me. Both problems were their mistake and customer service was terrible each time.

I have been on the phone FIVE hours today with ebay. FIVE different people. Two did not speak English. First two refused to record any type of notes so I had to repeat whole story. All because the seller never shipped my item. Had to go to 3 different departments. NEVER seen anything like this. The company is totally closed off to any type of customer feedback so corporate has no clue as to what really goes on. They would be mortified if they ever listened to what ebay users are told. Never seen this level of incompetence - anywhere. DONE with ebay.

In Feb. 2015, I listed a very nice, slightly used Toshiba laptop on eBay. It was up for auction and also had a "Buy It Now" price. I had my ad listed as not selling to international buyers and additionally no refunds. My ad was 100% accurate, fairly priced and what I think was an amazingly good deal. My computer sold almost immediately. To my chagrin, I noticed that my buyer was a ** in London, UK. I contacted this buyer to explain I didn't wish to sell internationally and "she" offered me $150 for shipping if I would ship the laptop to Lagos, Nigeria; the cradle of cyber crime. I knew this had to be a scam and sure enough the buyer then asked me repeatedly for my PayPal login credentials. When I said I would never give them this info I never heard from them again.
I reported all of this to eBay (after having to search online for a phone number for this useless company). I then relisted my computer. THREE MORE TIMES I had buyers snatch up my computer, turn out to be international con men who tried to hack my PayPal account. I reported all four to eBay and to this day all four are still actively accounts in good standing on eBay. In other words, they did NOTHING whatsoever.
Finally, I got an American buyer on my fifth time around. He paid immediately and I shipped him my computer. After he had it in his possession for 3 full days, he suddenly contacted me and said my laptop was not as I represented it. He said it was damaged, and did not work whatsoever. Knowing full well that I'd sold him a great laptop, barely used, and I work in IT so I know the condition of it was perfect, I told him I would not return his money. Then I did some digging on Google and guess what? The guy was a Nigerian national living in Virginia. I contacted eBay and told them all of this. The moron I got on the phone didn't listen to anything I said, was argumentative and rude to me and told me the burden of proof was on ME to prove I'd sent him something legitimate. ARE YOU ** JOKING?
I know what this guy was up to. He tried to retrieve the erased data off my hard drive over those three days, and I suspected he was also likely going to take the components out of my laptop, replace them with garbage and then ship it back to me. eBay left this case "ON HOLD" for 10 days and then sent me an email stating they had sided with the buyer. I still cannot believe this pieces of crap have the audacity to treat legitimate sellers like this but it's very obvious they don't care one bit about their customers. They just want to be a web portal and take zero responsibility for anything that happens on their site.
In the end, they refunded that Nigerian scammer all his money and I received my laptop back… damaged, beyond repair, and as I suspected, ALL OF MY INTERNAL COMPONENTS stolen, and swapped out with useless junk. I lost the money and had my computer destroyed and eBay doesn't give even the slightest crap about it whatsoever. Not their problem. I have contacted the police to press official charges against the buyer.
The funniest part, if you can laugh, is eBay is charging me $110 for the transaction. They actively facilitated a criminal, ripped me off, caused me to lose a $500 laptop and now they want to me to pay for the courtesy of getting screwed from behind while simultaneously knifing me in the back. It's no wonder eBay is rife with cyber criminals. It's a haven for them. They ought to change the name to eVil.

eBay has made it impossible for sellers with the new guidelines. Example: Buyer pays on 3/8/15 - Seller ships on 3/9/15 using the tools eBay provides - The tracking verifies seller had the package out within 24 hours. USPS delivers 3/17/15 (this was sent priority mail). Seller was dinged because USPS didn't deliver until 3/17/15. The top of eBay's customer service tells me it's my responsibility to pick a shipper that will deliver in time. eBay do you realize how ridiculous this is? There are three options for shipping - USPS, UPS and Fed Ex. Once the seller hands off the package to the shipper it's out of the seller's control.
You have also made it impossible for the seller by the way things are returned. Once the buyer opens a return the seller is dinged: Example: Buyer purchases dishes. Seller packs using bubble wrap/packing peanuts and double boxes the item. One bowl arrives broken. Buyer opens a return item - item is not as described. Seller tells buyer they will deal with the insurance and gives the buyer a refund. Seller is dinged. eBay's top of their customer service tells seller "Too bad - it's your fault that the shipper mishandled the box."
I understand that eBay wants to be a presence in the e-commerce, but eBay - you do realize that people who sell are going to become fed up and close their accounts? This will cause eBay to have less visibility in the eCommerce world. After talking with the top customer service representative yesterday, I walked away with the feeling that eBay thinks they are too big to fail and your top customer service representatives are nothing short of rude. A solution, I believe, is to change my handling time to 3 to 4 business days and stop accepting returns. eBay you really need to consider what you are doing to your sellers - you are not helping them or protecting them - you are alienating them, but I'm sure you're going to be happy to collect my 700.00 invoice for my sales for the month of March.

eBay did not honor their own rules during a transaction. This transaction was fully documented in supporting the seller's side of a transaction in eBay emails. The seller made an offer during the auction, the seller counter-offered and used the "sellers terms" to state what the buyer was responsible for, the buyer refused to follow the instructions per "sellers terms" as per eBay's pre-generated document. As the seller we filed a complaint against the buyer and cancelled the transaction. The buyer left negative feedback on an item that he never completed purchasing. eBay would not honor its own generated email a legal document "counteroffer" which included the wording of "sellers terms" and supporting our claim. This has caused a blemish to an otherwise perfect record over numerous years and transaction, compared to a individual that has very limited history.

Advertised a vintage 60's chameleon ring. Had all the stones. Was in like new condition. Buyer has it a week and then complains that it is flimsy and the balls fall out. I responded that this was a substantial piece of silver and if the balls came out then they bought a ring that was too small for their finger. It is a tension setting. Response was that I was rude....blah blah blah. It was sold for $10.00, so money was not the issue. It was principle. I called them and complained when negative feedback was left and was told they cannot remove this because it was the buyer’s opinion of my service. I have over 10 years with Ebay and over 700 transactions. This person had only 96. WTF??
How is it fair to the seller that we have 10 pages of disclaimers before you get to the listing, describe it exactly as is, package it great, ship it quick and then get negative feedback from some jackass who has buyer’s remorse? I don’t think they should get to leave feedback until they have at least 100 items. I also hope that the people who answer the phones are miserable and hate their jobs. Karma is coming if you are one of those people. I am not a box store. I do not offer lifetime guarantees or warranties on used, antique or vintage items. There were tons of photos and they always take the buyer’s side! It’s just plain wrong!!!

On January 2, 2015 I bought a jacket from an eBay seller in China, queenbay2012. I paid for the coat, it was almost $300. The item was too large, so I emailed the seller to return the item. The seller emailed back, saying that it was his last one, & there was a buyer in the U.S. - would I mind sending the jacket on to the 3rd party in Arizona? I sent the jacket priority mail. It was received & signed for on Feb 17, 2015. Since then, I have sent the seller numerous emails to refund my money. He kept sending back emails to do an eBay return. I could not do a return, as I had sent the item on to 3rd party, and also, I was no longer under the eBay buyer protection, which ended on 17 Feb. I contacted PayPal. They could not file a dispute, because I sent the item to a 3rd party instead of back to the seller. Seller in China no longer responds to emails.

I would give negative stars if possible. I've been a long time eBay buyer and don't buy things that often but believed they were a decent company and the old days of shady sellers and horrible experiences had been mitigated by them and that they would step in. I recently moved, and even though I had updated my address on the account, it defaulted to the old one upon order. I ordered a pair $215 boots and realized right away that the shipping address was my old one. I immediately notified the seller but eBay doesn't allow you to change anything. She shipped them to the old address because she said it had already been printed. Of course, the boots were returned as undeliverable. I have tracking that she received the boots back and she's stopped responding to me. I figured naturally eBay would help but they absolutely refuse so no boots and I'm out $215 to some shady girl that has the boots and the money.

I am a seller on eBay. There are so many liars and scammers out there, it's unreal. There are more people with no common sense than there are liars and scammers. Sellers are cheated left and right and eBay always sides with the sellers... so those of you who say otherwise are full of it or you are probably in the first group I mentioned...
I sold four items to a lady who upon receiving my package immediately opened a case stating my products were expired and rancid and she wanted a return which I was fine with. I let her know she would be refunded as soon as I received the package back. The package came and I could not believe what was inside... two items that were not mine! I was on the phone with eBay 3-4 hours a day for at least a week. Long story short it was my word against hers and eBay found in favor of the thief. I was so upset with eBay... I'm sure you can imagine...
I started watching this woman's eBay account like a hawk... lo and behold three months later I check her listings and there they are! Yes my stolen products! Not only was she selling them but her description was the exact opposite of the reason for her return to me. Immediately I contacted eBay who investigated my claims. What happened was ebay refunded my money and kicked her off of ebay. EBay really let me down... they didn't have my back at all and they should have.
All said and done I don't blame ebay... I blame the rotten scam weasel. Customer service reps at eBay are in my opinion the best customer service reps I have ever spoken with. They should revise the rules because we will never know who came first... the bad seller or the scam... Sorry to cut it short, have to go!!! Check back for the rest of my experience!

As a buyer I am constantly overcharged for shipping due to the fact many sellers cannot comprehend how to use the "shipping calculator." When I have questioned some sellers, they simply stated they "charged a flat fee" for all shipping locations. That make no sense. I have had several items broken because people cannot properly pack certain items (sewing machines and phonograph turntables in particular), and become angry when I complain that it arrived horribly broken. I had a 30 pound sewing machine wrapped in bubble wrap and a kevlar bag, no box..
As a seller, my main complaint is "false bidding" -- I believe the term is Shill bidding. In this case the bidding is "enhanced" by obvious persons who are either relatives or employees of the seller placing bids on the items. You can obviously tell when the "bidder" has no history of purchases.. This is actually a federal offense, and if caught one may serve a five year prison sentence. And now more than ever, the customer service is a joke. I just returned another broken sewing machine. Only receive abusive emails from the seller and I made several tedious telephone calls to eBay and PayPal. My final email from the seller was an accusation that I stole articles from the damaged machine. I spent more than 20k last year on eBay and plan to significantly reduce or end my buying and selling.

Been in week long war not with buyers but eBay. They tell you what you want hear they lie, now two cases can be filed against you. EBay can force people take stuff back PayPal is same way. There needs be class action lawsuit to stop them. I been lie to so much it’s not real. I being told they writing things down, call back up, nothing was said. They did nothing what they told you they would do, their supervisors will even lie to you. I requested all my phone calls be given to main office - they refused. When eBay makes people take things back just because that person did something mess it up it’s wrong. There is no seller protection on either site - you a seller you now require take things back up to 160 days after you got it. All the information on these claims been sealed by eBay even though I did win.
Only way to get the emails and proof is court order. EBay forces people use PayPal - eBay needs set up their own payment system to meet the laws but they still force you use PayPal so all the lawsuits come to nothing. I won for one reason the supervisor did not want these phone calls get out. But it’s put me under so much stress. I got adhd - been having panic attack over how I was treated by all but one of them and that one just cover his butt no more no less than that if not for the phone calls eBay set me up to lose the cases.
I won both cases then cases was reopen as refund should be option of the seller not force by eBay. There is a box says “no refunds” but eBay nor PayPal honor it if you put as is its not honor. I would very much like find a lawyer to file a case against both them this treatment of their sellers must end. All the proof is in eBay emails and the 10 15 phone calls I made to eBay PayPal. The same when they lie to me though corporate office did help should never of happen and because it did and because they’re still so closely working together they’re breaking more on laws. I tired of being abused as a seller - you can’t win with eBay or PayPal. Sellers always lose that's why before a official case even open they take the money.
I been with them 10 years they never sent me to sign any new agreement leads to big fed case as they breaking fed laws by doing this. I so stress was just 45,00 but why I did not give in eBay, held a gun to my head so to speak, told me “you will pay you will lose regardless what.” I pulled all my auctions I have use eBay as I disable and buy very costly computer gear, cheap can’t get it nowhere else so cheap but way they treat their sellers is unfair, unbusiness-like and against the law.
Telling each what they want to hear just get them off the ph and find out nothing put in the system. 45.00 why not just give in, was not about the money was idea I was being lie to by eBay and been lie to by PayPal as well. If eBay can’t set up a payment system away from PayPal they still acting as one regardless who owns them. These 2nd part of my complaint - don't matter who owns them if eBay gives you no other options than to use PayPal they breaking the laws and needs to stop.

I have been selling on eBay for 15 years. Recently a buyer filed a return request. The buyer is an absolute loon, and I could dedicate an entire post to her, but for now, I'll stick to eBay. I accepted the return, as eBay would force me to accept it anyway. She sent the item back, and eBay sent me an email stating that I had until March 30 to refund the buyer. Until then, I had a chance to inspect the item, make sure everything was okay, etc. Notice I'm writing this post on March 26. Well, just yesterday, the return was escalated to a claim, and 3 hours after it was escalated, it was found in the buyer's favor, the buyer was refunded the money, and I was *not* credited with the final value fee.
So, today I called eBay and asked what gives. I told the guy my story, and he asked what did I want eBay to do at this point. I said for starters, I'd like to get my final value fee refunded, which is standard for a returned item. I told me he would "see what he could do" and put me on hold. He then proceeded to tell me that "as a courtesy," eBay would refund the FVF. After I questioned his characterization of this as a favor, he stated that eBay only allows 3 days to refund regardless of what the email may have said. I told him I'd be happy to forward the email and of course he wasn't interested. I then asked what would happen if my jeweler determined that the item had been tampered with and he said that would just be a "cost of doing business." Amazing.
I'm not sure when it was, but I can guarantee you there was a certain date where a light bulb went off and eBay decided that sellers didn't matter. I actually think they abuse sellers on purpose so that only the biggest ** kissers will remain. It's actually a pretty good strategy when you think about it, which is why I'm so convinced that's their mindset. I think they figure they don't have enough buyers for the available items, so might as well cut down on the sellers since that's easier than generating new buyers. If I had any other choice, I'd be outta there for good, so I'm just waiting for an alternative.

Ebay suspended my selling acct permanently for no reason. They wouldn't tell me anything and I lost money tied up in items I purchased to sell on there. There are sellers with a 96% for a combined score still selling. I have no idea how with 100% feedback they booted me off. I did all I could to please customers and they were happy. I called ebay about this and nobody could give me an answer why I lost my selling acct. I read on pissedconsumer.com that this is common. Time for a class action lawsuit for discrimination. As I sit here on hold waiting for the 9th customer service representative at eBay, I decided to post a complaint concerning eBay's customer service. Each time I am transferred, I am asked all the same questions as if there are no records or notes available. The issue is the my underage minor daughter set up an account and listed items for sale. She did not receive monies, nor she ship any items. I first called eBay about 3 weeks ago and after 4 transfers and 5 people, I was assured her account was cancelled and that no seller's fee would be charged to her bank card since no transactions had been completed and she was a minor.
We received her bank statement today and eBay processed the charges in spite of what I was told. Today, I spoke with 3 different people, then asked for a manager. After remaining on hold for about 10 minutes, I was asked if the manager could call me back. We'll see what happens next, however this is seeming like an eBay scam to me, attempting to discourage customers to the point that they simply give up. I bet I'm not the only one having this issue with eBay and wouldn't be surprised to see a class action suit one of these days.

eBay's seller policies are totally unfair & they cater to the buyer and leave the seller hanging on a thread holding up funds when a buyer bids & wins an auction, pays for it, then says he/she does not want it . You get charged a final value fee @ 10% plus a PayPal fee @ 2.9%. eBay then tells you to cancel the order and PayPal wants to charge you another 2.9% to refund the buyer. This is sheer nonsense. I have spent hours on the phone with them getting disconnected, brushed off, and given the runaround. I believe CA should do a deep investigation on their policies (all around) - they stink, are getting too BIG and making a fortune on the little people at hand. Please investigate!

Because what you might make after original listing fees and shipping fees and final listing fees and then the Paypal fee on eBay will severely cut into your hypothetical profit after you sell the crap they list as merchandise. Watch out for the buyer’s premiums and the shipping! WOW! Now you are crunched for time! You have 48 hours to inspect every item and photograph an item you might want to dispute once delivered! Giddy up and go!
Not quite....nothing is new. Never assume when they say...tested... that it is!! Because it's not!!! I tried electronics...games, controllers, game consoles, Vinyls, headsets, DVDs, no matter what!!! I too have experienced my bad sellers as to my very pleasant ones. I just wished eBay would stop trying to grab more money from sellers and actually focus on the real problem: cases. I filed a claim for FedEx SmartPost w/ eBay on their site. This is the correct process and the only way one can file a claim. FedEx SmartPost only pays $100 + transportation costs regardless of the value of the item. IMC it was an antique item worth over $400 and sold for approx. $200 + 89.00 shipping costs (due to weight). It was shipped virtually within 3 1/2 hours of my residence. (I could have driven it there.) The item was completely damaged (although it was professionally packed). Damaged beyond repair. The buyer was inconsolable and I was very very upset. I filed a claim the same day. After waiting over 7 weeks (eBay's directions are 20 days + 2 -3 weeks???) I began calling eBay. I probably have 10 phone calls and about 20 hours invested in this to this point.
The upshot is this. eBay DOES NOT pay ANY CLAIM from FedEx SmartPost - PERIOD!!! FedEx SmartPost reviews these cases on the Monday following the submitted claim after eBay sends it to them. FedEx SmartPost pays eBay the $100 + transportation costs. eBay then essentially holds your money and does NOT ever refund it. Thousands of sellers have found this out the hard way (as have I). eBay's employees are told to say that FedEx SmartPost should be called and they are in charge of this. THIS despite the fact that their claim site states VERY clearly that they (eBay) is in charge of this and "manages???" the claim. FedEx SmartPost (who is cordial, considerate & HONEST) will tell you they have hundreds of people referred to them from eBay but they do not deal with the reimbursement. That would be obvious since this is an agreement w/ USPS who "delivers" the package to the door.
Now, you have eBay, FedEx, AND USPS involved and all of them have rules & regs that essentially block out the claim. The upshot is eBay is making hundreds of thousands of $$$$ in reimbursed claims from FedEx SmartPost and NEVER pays their sellers. I have not found one case where a seller HAS EVER BEEN PAID. However, you will find hundreds of complaints in their community of not being paid & getting the same runaround. Additionally, eBay states that they only reimburse $100 (to your "next invoice" - unbelievable) and FedEx clearly states that they reimburse transportation costs as well. Thus eBay purposely doesn't mention this and keeps ALL the reimbursed transportation fees for themselves as a BONUS!
BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT SHIP WITH FEDEX SMARTPOST through eBAY. The savings of a few $$$ will not ever compensate for the frustration and money lost. What is sublimely irritating is that everyone you speak to (even at the direct claims number) which is BTW (866.643.1587) is in another country.... If you call eBay corporate, they spend 5 minutes on recorded messages directing you back to eBay's site and what is laughingly referred to as customer service.
Essentially, this is one BIG SCAM created by eBay which makes them a fortune. All is at the cost to the honest sellers. I am still dealing with the buyer and I do not blame her. None of this was either of our fault. Oh, BTW, I have sold hundreds of items (valuable one of a kind items and antiques) with a 100% feedback - GLOWING REVIEWS... I would love to see the hundreds of sellers get together for a class action suit against the behemoth "eBay" and get the damages they deserve!

I attempted on several occasions to have eBay correct this matter without success. Two months ago, I became very angry about this and contacted eBay customer service again. They were able to find the other account that was using my number, but couldn't tell me who it was. I asked them to simply call the number and see who answers. They wouldn't do it. So to let everyone know, you are absolutely correct in the idea that eBay caters to buyers, not sellers. I was just on the phone with **, I asked, "Why does eBay give the option to not accept returns if they are going to let buyers return items even if they are not damaged anyway?" His response and I quote, "to give the buyers the option to return items for any reason whatsoever." I then asked specifically "so eBay caters to buyers and not sellers?" His response, "that is absolutely correct."
eBay has no interest in sellers other than to collect fees. They are always on the buyers' side. I have issued refunds to buyers if they show the item is damaged during shipping or it does not work when they receive it even though I check the little box that says returns not accepted and also list in each listing refunds and returns are not accepted and purchase is made under this agreement. Just the fact that ** admitted that buyers are permitted to return items for any reason even though sellers are given the option to not accept returns is an admission of breach of contract by eBay with each seller.

Have you had a seller simply cancel your winning bid after the auction ended? This has suddenly started happening to me. My items are all quality rollerball pens. In each case, no reserve was posted and I was the highest bidder, but either my bid was cancelled by the seller or, in the most recent case, the seller claimed the reserve had not been met even though there was no reserve. One seller did have the courtesy to reply to me, but only stated that he thought he could get more. Excuse me! Isn't this an auction! If you want a certain price you either place a reserve, which costs money, or you place it for sale, not auction.
I will likely stop buying on eBay since I seem to be wasting my time. There are "stores" online that may cost a tad more, but with no aggravation. On the other hand, I may sell my antique bank collection and it is nice to know that I can simply cancel a winning bid on eBay if I'm not happy with the price. The new eBay Returns Process makes me extremely Angry, as it is encouraging too many SNAD Claims and I have more returns now than ever before. It so unbelievably wrong that Buyers aren't even required to provide evidence for the Defect to be recorded against the Sellers account and regardless of whether the buyer provides evidence or not, the Defect remains and in most cases, the Defect can't be removed because eBay's policies do not permit the Defect to be removed.
I strongly believe that the Defect should only be applied AFTER the buyer provides evidence, as requested by the seller, because eBay cannot say that we Sellers are at fault until there is proof of the buyer's claim. Therefore, I am fed up wasting my precious time and money. I believe we all need to band together and do something about this system and NOW is the time.
This is my story and I know many of you have similar stories: I have been selling eBay since 2006 and am a top-rated Power Seller and I have always rectified defective transactions once evidence has been provided by the buyer. I have 30 day return policy: Buyer pays return shipping if it is a case of item not suitable/change of mind, however, if it is an issue that the buyer isn't at fault, such as a Warranty issue, the buyer is supplied with a Reply Paid address or we request the buyer to provide Digital Photo evidence, etc.
However, this new return process and leaves me feeling angry and frustrated, as I reported five buyers within the last month that reported they received Damaged/Faulty Items, however, they would NOT: Provide evidence, such as Digital Photos; nor would they eturn their items to us, even though I sent them shipping labels with my Reply Paid address, nor would these scammers Reply to any of my eBay messages.
Therefore, even though there is ABSOLUTELY NO EVIDENCE of their Damaged/Faulty Item claims and they have not replied to any of my many messages, the DEFECT REMAINS and my Account Manager does not have the power to remove these five Defects due to the new eBay Policies. With one of the cases, I decided to Ask eBay to Step In, as I thought I might get some Justice that way, as I had already exhausted all other avenues, because eBay would be required to look into the transaction in depth. However, eBay refunded the buyer anyway out of their own money, obviously because there was not enough evidence to support this buyer's claim, so they couldn't justify deducting the money from my account.
Regardless, of eBay refunding the buyer with their own money, this still didn't sit well with me, because I believe this buyer was committing fraud, therefore this buyer still won, hence, is encouraged back onto the eBay site to do it over and over again, because this buyer was refunded in full without being required to provide any evidence whatsoever and the Defect remains against my account, even though I worked tiredly with this buyer to rectify the situation.
Also, I was told that it is best NOT to ask eBay to step in in future, because if eBay settled the other way, I would have received a second Defect for this same transaction. Additionally, I have also had at least 5 low value items that were sent via ordinary mail that were reported as Item Not Received, that I know I can't do anything about, because I can't provide tracking, even though all of these transactions have been dealt with by way of Refund or Replacement, even though I suspect these buyers have Stolen from me, but I will never be able to prove it. Regardless, what really sucks about this, is that even though I have done the right thing by rectifying the transactions, the Defects remain, therefore, I feel like I have been robbed twice, ie: once with the transaction, then again with the Defect against my account.

eBay withholding fees has nothing to do with guaranteeing we are good sellers. It's about making $ off the interest on the money they hold from sellers. I asked eBay over the phone if I "individually" listed 25 Wheat Pennies for 1 cent each and free shipping, would that satisfy their requirements. The answer was "NO" it's has to be at least "$250.00". Therefore this is "NOT" about verifying we can complete a transaction. This is more about eBay earning $ from interest by withholding funds.
Fine... eBay can have whatever policies they so choose, but they don't have a "legal right" to withhold "shipping funds". They circle-jerked me for 1 1/2 hours over the phone, in the end I was told I "had to pay" from my PayPal/Bank account. Knowing my bank account only has $1.97, shipping these items using PayPal/Bank account would have cost me a $35.00 overdrawn fee with my bank. I live in rural Northern CA. It's a 15 minute drive to the post office "one-way". There & back costs 1 gl of fuel / $3.18, plus the shipping costs. If ever there is a legal class action... I want in! I have been selling since eBay's early days and have strove for power seller status as well as opening a store. eBay keeps upping fees and taking your money. Then to boot they always make anything your responsibility no matter what the case. I had a seller not happy with their purchase because it didn't work. So I told him to send it back..... We had repaired that and returned that within that week. They still leave a negative feedback and eBay will not remove it because they say it's buyer's experience.
So I just bought a fragrance from eBay who advertised it was new. Well when I received this it was not new so I asked for a return in which eBay had to force the return. Once the return was made I left a negative feedback so other sellers could see and be warned. eBay removed the feedback so other sellers could buy the used bottle. It seems eBay lies about many things and will leave it up to the sellers. I'm slowly leaving eBay and selling on other sites that have better service. eBay is getting worse and worse..... If you have a choice go to another site as eBay will not stand by their buyers or sellers in any way.

We have been a top-rated eBay seller for over 10 years. eBay has changed their rules and now has opened up a marketplace that is not fair for sellers. Buyers are constantly misusing the eBay programs and costing sellers like me hundreds of dollars. eBay also no longer has proper systems to help sellers with problems (i.e., getting lost fees back, misused returns or SNAD cases from buyers). The fees they take from sellers are getting higher and higher. And now with their new cancellation policy, sellers are not getting fees back for items that have canceled.
Sellers are being punished by eBay as we no longer get dedicated acct managers as of 10-1-13. The new email customerhelp@ebay.com never gets answered. The eBay reps are not consistent with each other... When we call in they give us different answers. I have dates, times and names as proof.
1. We want top sellers to get a dedicated person to help resolve issues.2. We want eBay to actual READ and respond to email sent to customerhelp@ebay.com. Not a single one of my emails to that address was EVER answered.
3. eBay needs to fix the problems with the cancellation process so sellers don't have to call several times a day to get fees back. Should be able to cancel partial qty, not just full.
4. New return system needs to be fixed. Buyers are misusing and opening up false claims.
I have saved all emails which I can forward and I have dates, notes and times if needed. I also have these printed.

I am a seller on eBay.com. A buyer bought an item by his mistake and returned it to me. Both of us agreed that it was his fault and he would pay for the shipping fees, the original and return fees both way. I refunded him the payment of the item in full, less the shipping fee. He was satisfied by the resolution and left a positive feedback for me. He is absolutely a good customer.
When the refund was done, I sent a request to cancel our transaction. After one week, eBay sent me a message that it couldn't be cancelled because I didn't refund the shipping fee to the buyer. If a transaction is not cancelled, eBay eats your final credit fee of the transaction, ranging from 5% to 12%. My transaction was worth $400 and the final credit fee is $26. The shipping fee was $25. I refunded the buyer $375. Why eBay insisted that the order couldn't be cancelled against the fact that it was actually cancelled? They try to steal the final transaction fee!

Closed a multi-million dollar account because we were linked to another account, one that looks like it did less than 100 transactions altogether. Linked because we sold similar items and same area. We invested $100,000's in inventory based on our previous eBay sales. We had to fire 3 employees! We lost a lot of money liquidating some inventory the following week as our suppliers give us NET terms and we would have moved the inventory in time, if eBay didn't screw us royally.
Luckily for us we operate our own site, so it wasn't a total lost. Shortly afterward we moved the inventory into Amazon as well. You may bring us down temporary, but you will not ruin our company! We have quality product and quality service! Something you know nothing about. It's abundantly clear the reason eBay became so large was due to amazing sellers, not eBay's operation. PayPal has been carrying your ** for too long. Can't wait for the separation. No one likes a bully and eBay will go bye-bye over time! Due to this event. We made it clear, if you do business with eBay we do not want you working for us. As a bonus, each employee is given a $1,000 at the end of the year for supporting our company and avoiding eBay buying and selling.

Well, I can't leave work to ship anything through USPS (all eBay offers) and now I'm stuck with a broken phone and a sim card I already paid for a month of service on. I'm pretty bummed out. I cancelled my account to at least stop the barrage of sales emails they send. They refused to help in any way but that.
I bought and paid for a phone that works, and I received a broken one. That was my first and last purchase with eBay. Do yourself a favor and order from Amazon. They are a legitimate company who has great service and I've spent thousands of dollars with them because of it. Stay far, far away from eBay, or you will lose your money and time. We should then just 'accept it'.
The most infuriating part is that we received no attempt of delivery nor pick-up slip from their couriers. I am an eBay seller (100% feedback) and just had my PayPal account tapped for $70 to refund a buyer under the "Moneyback Guarantee" policy for an item sold and sent out by registered mail in January 2015 because... the Brazilian post services haven't delivered it yet (March 2015). After a long, expensive and Orwellian phone conversation with a not-very-pleasant eBay customer service representative, I learned that somewhere in the tiny legal text that one agrees to by listing an item, yes, you are responsible for a refund even if a foreign postal service delays the package for too long.
Oh, excuse me for not being able to put more pressure on the Brazilian postal system... What's even more unfair is that they dock points from your overall seller score! So I am somehow a less trustworthy seller because a foreign postal system "infinitely delays" a package. I suppose I would have been willing to swallow the $70 refund without too much bitterness (though I highly suspect fraud on the buyer's part based on our exchanges), but how very disappointing is it that eBay won't stand up for sellers. In the end, eBay will earn fewer commissions and fail to maintain their brand worldwide because sellers will no longer take the risk to sell to buyers outside of North America and Europe...

They refused to entertain a claim because of "over packing" which is just not accurate because when I travel, I make sure that I'm easily able to lift any luggage because I'm often on my own. Eventually, they agreed to a 20% discount which I rejected as I wanted to return the item. eBay became involved but their communication around this issue was beyond shocking.
Finally, the seller agreed to a full refund if I amend the feedback. I told them that I'd amend the feedback to reflect their willingness to take the item back once I received a full refund. They arranged for collection and then I didn't receive the refund. They insist that I alter the feedback before they process the refund which I will not do - I have no doubt that changing the feedback will not prompt a refund. So - the seller has the suitcase and the money. Again, eBay's communication was very poor - they told me that they'd send me a return postage label which I never received and then when I submitted the tracking number for the return organised by the seller, they closed the case on the basis "non valid tracking number" without any prior notification and after closing the case, without notification again...... they say their hands are tied.

I do not list many items, but what I do list, I rely on my description of each collectible item along with my Power Seller status.
After listing, I checked on the items to find that eBay no longer displays the full description, you need to click on another link for a full description. What's worse is that "they" decided what sentences from my description to place on the first view page. There were no warnings, no information about the changes & we weren't asked to select our own brief description! I am charged listing fees & final value fees for every item I list and yet there was no consideration by eBay for my sales. When we sell we give a refund for ANY reason (the customer is always right). In 4 years we have 4 negative feedbacks (all were offered refunds but decided to keep their items regardless). Regarding our performance rating: we are 5.9% negative. Why:
2 - Delays from USPS in delivery time; 1 - Item broken during shipping (thank you USPS) - money refunded (she wants to buy again if we repair); 5- from same person who purchased comic books (we spit shipping to different locations, he wasn't happy with condition, we gave refund); 1 - Necklace - person didn't like after seeing - refund given; 1 - WW2 Recruiting Poster - Buyer claimed it wasn't original. It IS original and we offered a refund anyway. Buyer kept poster; 1 - sterling silver miniature Nativity Scene - buyer thought it would have been larger - we offered refund, buyer kept anyway; 1 - Sweetheart necklace (Mourners Broach) - "it had someone's else's hair in it, glass cracked (clearly shown in all photos), offered refund, buyer kept and so on and so on! Not 1 person ever said they were ripped off or was denied a refund. I don't think anyone could have a better experience in any retail store in America.
eBay (our partner), without any notice, will not let us list any more items. They would want to charge us their listing fee if we removed any previously listed items. They are basically shutting our business down for 2 months. After building our business around eBay, as they wanted us to, they refuse to bend and let us post any additional items. Our partner is shutting us down for 1/15th of our year. They suggested we use "other alternatives".
All eBay cares about is making money. They don't care about the buyers, the sellers or what's right or what's wrong. They don't care about providing a viable service! All they care about is making money. They told us that if a seller is unhappy, they won't buy on eBay again. We're not able to speak with anyone who can think for themselves. Common sense tells you that if a buyer is offered their money back and they choose to keep an item, they're not unhappy. Are you thinking of starting a business on eBay? Think twice!!!! Maybe eBay should be regulated?

They asked me if I heard anything from the seller 2-3 times. I e-mailed back "No. Not yet". Once again I tried to contact the seller but no avail. THEN suddenly now been told the case is closed even though I asked "PLEASE I WANT MY £11.99 back". (IT'S THEFT SURELY).

I purchased a Brighton designer handbag from an eBay seller, Saturday Treasure. The seller had a shipping price listed as $6.00. I received a notice from USPS that there was an additional $5.80 due to them in order for me to receive the handbag. I emailed the seller, Saturday Treasure about this. The seller said that there was no shipping due. The USPS told me she only paid for 1lb. of shipping weight when the true weight was approx. 2 lbs. I had to pay the additional cost, I believe she was trying to make more money for the handbag. I checked her reviews and she done this to another buyer. I opened a case with eBay and they sided with her and closed the case and removed the negative feedback I gave her. I was trying to help other buyers know what this seller did so it would not happen to them. eBay was not fair with this situation. I contacted eBay by phone and eBay refunded me $5.80, but I insisted it should be the seller and to put my feedback.

The point is why I have to pay the $8 to eBay if they have to reimburse me the money later because the sale got cancel? I don't want credit on my eBay account. I want my money and if eBay knows that the sale got cancelled why I have to pay the fee and wait for credit on eBay? Money back guarantee a joke. Customer service is nothing but a bunch of people that will tell you what you want to hear and promise the world with no intention of caring any of it through just to get you off the phone. I bought 2 of the same items both in color red. Item description states choice red or blue. I got them and both were pink. Ask for exchange or refund from seller. In 4 emails seller refused and claimed that red was just a recommendation not a choice of color.
Asked eBay to step in with buyer protection. Told I had to wait 7 days to see if seller would respond. On the 7th day I called and was told it would be escalated and I would get a call on Friday 2/27 by 8pm. At 10pm I get an email from the seller telling me again how red is not a choice and he is going to change his ad so it was not misleading but still no refund. So I called eBay again. Was told yes I was right and would get a full refund of 10.59. I would receive an email in 24-48 hours to that fact. About an hour later I get an email from Paypal saying I got a partial refund.
I call again and now I am told I cannot get the other half of my money until I escalate the other half of the purchase (even though I did that already by phone 2 days prior) and I cannot escalate it until March 6. Ask to speak to a supervisor who could not accommodate me by escalating the other half and doing a refund as I was promised 3 hours earlier. So I need to wait until March 6 in order to call back and beg some more to get the other half of my refund. Funny I did not get to only pay half of the purchase and wait 2 weeks to pay the rest. I have about more than 6 hours on the phone into getting 10.59 refunded. Never Never Again. I have been lied to about being called back, was lied to about getting a full refund. Was lied to about the escalating of the whole thing and not just part of it.
More time into this than 10.00 is worth at this point, but will hound them until I do get a full refund out of principle. Then I will close the account and NEVER do business with them again. For all the lies and trouble if they care one iota about a customer they would not only accommodate me with the half of my refund now but also some kind of compensation. BUT that will never happen.

Having done couple years of buying on eBay, I noticed that for the recent years eBay has less buyer protection & customer services provided for buyers. Having recently trying to purchase big ticket items (phone & land), both were involved with problems of ignorant/dishonest sellers and eBay does nothing to ensure buyer's protection.
Phone purchase: try to purchase Samsung galaxy S5 on eBay and the model SM-G900P were listed as "all carrier" and "unlocked". Decided to find out whether it is truly open to all carriers, I googled and found that it is only compatible with Sprint and not T-Mobile (my carrier). Emailed the seller within a couple hours of auction ended to cancel the order, the seller refused stating that the phone is "unlocked" and should be for all carrier. Didn't want other customers to be victimized, I left the seller a negative feedback. Next day the negative feedback was removed when seller open "unpaid claim" for the purchase. Contacted eBay customer service and they could not do anything about this, including the removal of the feedback.
Land purchase: Try to purchase a California land on eBay and email the seller to verify whether the seller is the actual seller, the seller stated he is the company who owns the land. Later, I did searches and found that the owner of the land is another person (with different name and address), not the eBay seller. When later message the seller, the seller still claims that he's the owner of the land. I tried to contact the actual owner and got the info back that the eBay seller was NOT the owner. Reported this to eBay and nothing was done about this. So beware, don't buy from eBay since the likelihood of being defrauded is greater than you think.

I was charged a fee of $17.50 by eBay, which I immediately paid using my PayPal account. ** took advantage of my naivety and committed the crime of identity theft and burglary via the Internet. My bone to pick with eBay is that their Terms and Conditions are there to protect the Buyer and does absolutely nothing to protect the Seller. Ebay wasted no time taking a $17.50 fee and then immediately refunding it to my account once they realized I had been stiffed by an unscrupulous individual via their website.
So I am willing to go on the record and accuse eBay Inc. of Aiding and Abetting criminal acts of Fencing on their website. Instead of stepping up and presenting me with a fair and reasonable resolution to resolve my problem, Ebay Inc., a billion dollar corporate giant decided that in the best interest of their bottom line and stockholders by ignoring me and hoping I would just go away. They chose to distance themselves from me over $175. This corporate theft must end and eBay needs to be held accountable.
After several failed attempts to log a complaint on eBay's website I spent countless hours going in circles on the website. Ebay's customer service link is specifically designed to wear the average person down and make them go away. I challenge any of you to just try it out and you will know and understand what I am saying. Many people I have talked to do not understand their Discriminatory and Hateful selling policy. When selling items of WWII Germany one is not allowed to show swastikas but even then it does not matter to Ebay. I have had items removed from selling that do not show ANY offensive symbols. I think that certain managers at Ebay have an anti-social hateful and discriminatory attitude toward the seller and consumer.
Currently I am entertaining a BOYCOTT of EBAY for this inconsistent and irrational policy. Objects do not convey discrimination and hate, people do. Ebay is Entirely OUT of Line in this policy which should be abolished. Sociopaths should not be allowed to levy their hate and discriminatory attitudes toward the seller and customer!

I sold an item in mid January. Buyer paid by PayPal, I shipped the item with tracking number. Item was received by buyer. I specifically have my account set up to only ship domestic. Item ended up sent out of county (delivery address was KY!). Money was never released to me. I contacted ebay, who directed me to a refund request in French! After talking to 3 different people at ebay and spending 45 mins. trying to sort this out, I was informed the buyer initiated return, but never followed through, so as of Feb 23, money for item would be released to me.
Feb 24, no money, so again, contacted ebay. Spoke to 4 different people this time, an hour of my time wasted. They ultimately walked me through a french ebay site, told me what to click on (I have no idea what I was told to agree to, other than the word of customer service rep who, btw, was foreign - Indian, I believe... translating french to English). Needless to say, this was a frustrating experience! Told that ebay will review case and get back to me in 48 hours with a decision. This couldn't be told to me last week, instead of promising money on certain date and wasting my time????
Also, looked into buyer account. Only 3 transactions in their history, none recent. I believe this was a scam. Item was valued over $200. I have no money, or my item back and ebay is playing games with me and not resolving the issue to my satisfaction. The item should never have been shipped internationally, when representing to go to Kentucky.
Communication attempts and links to information I needed were in a foreign language and I was told to blindly click on things that I am not sure what they said. I should not have been promised money on a certain date when there was no intention to release money. Ebay has definitely lost my business and my trust. I was a frequent buyer and seller, and never had one problem in all the years I dealt with them...until now. It should not be this much of a hassle to have a problem resolved. Bottom line, I want either my item back, or the money owed me and I have neither!

EBay's Unfair DSR Policies. I have had an eBay Store (Power Seller) since 2000 and up until ~ a year and a half ago was quite happy. I have sold nearly 3,000 items and have very positive feedback. EBay was built on the backs of small entrepreneurs like me. They made it possible for us to compete in the national and then global marketplace. Now they are catering only to the big box stores with shrink-wrapped items that can be immediately taken off the shelf and shipped. They are forcing the small custom/specialty-geared businesses out of business.
Most of my items are custom orders that require printing (such as wedding invitations), engraving, or creation by an artist. All of my listings explain this clearly and give a reasonable window for delivery. If this is not satisfactory to the Buyers then they should not order. The Buyers seldom complain about this. I stand on my head to communicate with the Buyers so they clearly understand the production time-line.
It is eBay and its new DSR Policy that have problem with my timelines. There is no possible way that I can ship within 24 hours. However, I am being majorly penalized. They hold my payments for 21 days or until the tracking number is verified, but insist that I ship immediately. The Buyer has paid me in good faith, eBay immediately takes its cut, but they will not release the funds to me so I may pay my Printer, Engraver or Artist, etc. in real time so that the item may be shipped immediately upon its completion.
I cannot request that an item be shipped from the creator or the drop shipper until it is paid for it on my end. Therefore, I am unable to meet eBay's unreasonable DSR timeframe delivery policy, the Buyer is unhappy and may want to cancel the order, leave Negative Feedback, or not shop on eBay again. I will lose the sale and eBay will lose its commission. It's a Lose-Lose-Lose proposition for everyone involved. It makes me look bad and eBay even worse. EBay has no problem taking its monthly fees out of the account regardless of its status.
If they no longer want small entrepreneurs like me, they need to say so, instead of taking my steady monthly-payments of $500 plus and then doing everything they can to destroy my business. I have spent hundred of hours creating and maintaining my store and communicating with my buyers. Now eBay wants to take away my livelihood by enforcing unreasonable DSR policies for custom-geared businesses.

I've been a seller on eBay since 2012 with over 1,700 sales. I too believe that eBay will side with the buyer on all complaints and furthermore, ANYONE can leave negative feedback regardless of the situation. My company will give refunds for any reason. We had 4 negative feedbacks this past year. 1 - WW2 Navy recruiting poster - claimed it's a reproduction. The item is genuine and we offered a refund anyway. The buyer chose to keep poster and gave negative feedback. eBay won't remove. 2 - Mourning Locket - customer disappointed it had "someone else's" hair in it and glass was cracked. These were fully disclosed in the listing. We offered a refund. Buyer choose to keep locket and gave negative feedback. 3- Gold bangle - buyer claims it was damaged. They returned item DAMAGED. We gave refund anyway. Buyer left negative feedback.
4 - 14K Yellow Gold & Amethyst Tennis Bracelet. Buyer inquired, AFTER winning the bid, if asked if the stones were genuine. We stated that we didn't know. Buyer wanted us to ship bracelet so he can have his jeweler examine and wanted to return afterwards. As we never claimed them to be genuine, we returned his money instead of selling. He gave negative feedback that we reneged on an offer.
When we called eBay regarding these negative feedbacks, they said to us: "they always side with buyers' OPINIONS." So they don't care about the facts, only opinions. Today they are holding $1,200 until 3 days after the winning buyer receives the items. I asked eBay for interest on MY money they are holding. Daniel, a manager (ref # **) said: "he's the final word - they won't give interest." He also claimed the reason for holding our money is because "other" sellers have ripped off buyers. eBay wants to punish me for what OTHER sellers have done?
I've been in business since 1978. We are honest and forthright. We have an excellent reputation and treat our customers as I personally would like to be treated. If eBay is going to print frivolous negative feedback, I believe they have a responsibility to check the facts and only print what is factual. eBay has also "lowered" our rating in the past due to the USPS losing a package or having it delayed in delivery by weeks, something that is totally out of our control. Now because of a "lower rating," I'm prohibited in listing Bullion for sale which is our business!
We had an oversea buyer return a guitar claiming it arrived damaged. eBay returned the money BEFORE the guitar was returned and when we received it, it was stripped of all the pick-ups, strings, machine head and bridge (COMPLETELY STRIPPED). Even though we showed pictures, we had to fight with eBay and spend money for an "expert" opinion of the value of the guitar now in this condition. How ridiculous. If a seller offers money back regardless of the reason, what more could ANY buyer ever ask from the seller? If eBay wants to hold my money, I should get interest. If eBay is going print something negative about my company, it should be factual. eBay shirks their responsibilities and treats their sellers unfairly.

I went from being a Top Rated Plus Powerseller to now being Below Standard because of "defects" from users' return requests and low star ratings (which I can't even see and had no idea they were there). It is apparent, from the recent policy changes -- the new Defect Rating System -- that sellers are a risk to eBay. EBay is paranoid that their image will be tainted by disgruntled buyers. Their greatest fear is that those buyers will be filling the Internet with complaints and warning everyone to avoid eBay. The response is to weed out all of those "bad" sellers so that there won't be anything for buyers to complain about.
EBay gives the buyer a multitude of ways to disguise "buyer remorse" and express their moodiness -- all of which result in mortal wounds to the seller, while at the same time stripping the seller of all defenses against scammers and trolls. To eBay, the buyer is money in the bank, and the seller is a risk -- risked are quickly dropped. The new "defect" policy is deadly and quick. "Bad" sellers will drop like flies. Defects hang around for a year, so it's unlikely that a seller with too many will ever be seen by buyers in the search results any time soon. Mission accomplished!
Trying to get defects removed is like pulling teeth. They come from nowhere, for the slightest reason, and the seller can't get them removed, regardless of their senseless or unfair nature. The seller is reprimanded and told that his seller rating will improve with more integrity, better performance and buyer satisfaction. The problem is that eBay encourages buyers to apply these deadly defects literally on a whim, abandoning the seller in a shallow grave. So, let me get this straight...you shoot me in the head, then you tell me, "Your rating will improve when you raise yourself from the dead."
EBay is not a healthy environment for selling -- only for buying. Ebay ignores the common sense rules that we all live by out here in the real brick and mortar business world. Entering eBay's world is like watching the "Locked Up Abroad" TV series. I started out all excited about living my dream and building a good business, but now each day with eBay is like walking through a mine field -- I just hope and pray I'm live to see another day. Have no faith in Ebay!

I've been a PowerSeller on eBay for nearly 15 years. The majority of my transactions have gone smoothly, with thousands of positive feedback and satisfied customers, until recently. Starting with eliminating the ability to leave honest feedback for buyers a bunch of years back, eBay has rolled out more and more policies leaving sellers with virtually no protection against buyers who cheat them. Cheating takes so many forms: wearing/using an item and returning it, returning an empty box, and extorting lower prices by threatening poor feedback, just to name a couple. I'm writing this review because eBay's new guided returns system via the message system actually encourages buyers to fabricate "item not as described" claims to get free return shipping and full refunds including shipping costs. The most common fake complaint is odors, since you can't take a photo of an odor.
I had a buyer return a vintage fur coat from Russia because of the fit (so far, so good), and she stuffed it into a plastic pouch for its three-week journey to reach me. The entire collar had to be resewn for $65, and when I issued a refund minus that amount, she changed her return status to "not as described" and wrote a diatribe about all the (fake) things that were wrong with the coat, and eBay/PayPal automatically issued her a full refund against my protests, and even tried to make me pay for the original $85 shipping cost. My latest fake complaint is that the shape of the toe of a boot was different than the photos showed although the photos were of the exact boot shipped to the customer. I called eBay about this one, and they said I have no choice but to refund shipping both ways, though this is a clear case of buyer's remorse.
Also, every "not as described" complaint chips away at the 20% Top Seller discount, which clearly must be eBay's plan. There are hundreds of seller complaints on this site and thousands on forums about how eBay is aiding, abetting, and even sanctioning buyer theft. Sure, I recognize that buyers need to be protected. But eBay is dismantling sellers' rights and capacity to protect themselves against unscrupulous buyers. I truly hope that a lawyer who cares about justice will look into a class-action lawsuit against eBay's practices.

I've been a member of eBay since: Jul 17, 2012 with a 100% positive feedback score. Never have I had a negative comment. I recently sold an ECTACO PARTNER X8 RUSSIAN=ENGLISH ELECTRONIC TRANSLATOR. I sold this as No return of refund available, Returns: Seller does not offer returns. You are covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee- opens in a new window or tab if you received an item that is not as described in the listing.
A lady in New York bought this and received this on a Saturday. She then on Tuesday files for a return of faulty product stating there lines appearing on the screen making impossible to read the translation. I tried to point out to eBay rep. that if she had received this on Saturday why wait till Tuesday to file a return for refund. This was the very reason I listed as Used and none returnable. I have no insight into how long the life span is on a used Electronic device. Plus you never know how the customer has misused it. I'm not a retailer that has the option of sending faulty products back to the manufacture for credit.
Finally have the 3 day communication time I asked eBay to step in and make a decision and they choose for ME to refund her money. Now I have a broken translator worth nothing coming back to me. EBay could never tell me why they choose to side with buyer when I asked. Then I asked why allow someone to list an item as none returnable and no refunds if eBay will not honor this. To me it seems to be a faulty promise from eBay to entice me to list it. By all the other complaints here on this very subject this is looking like a good Class Action Lawsuit for some smart lawyer against eBay. Because it's very clear to see with eBay's new buyer protection guarantee it's always going to be in the buyers favor by forcing the seller to refund money because even if you disagree with eBay's decision they have control of your PayPal account and also access to your bank account.

The information tracking number stopped while the package was in transit, specifically at her main PO branch in Cincinnati Ohio. (She lived in Ohio), she then filed with eBay’s buyer protection policy stating she did not receive her package. EBay then froze the amount of money of the purchase from my PayPal account.
I find this unfair and an obstruction of justice for these reasons: First and foremost, what right do they have to assume a given date for a transaction with a punishment of freezing funds. The item WAS mailed, as shown with delivery confirmation number. How do they know the tracking system was flawed, and buyer actually received package and is scamming for her money back.
So, they made me refund her money and when she gets the wallet, she will then have her money and my wallet. I have been selling for 15 years and have always been an honest seller. They do not care. Where is my user agreement that I will not have to refund due to USPS slowness or theft? EBay continually puts its sellers at risk by incorporating in its user agreement, policies which basically equate to thievery. They do not look at any case objectively. They just always side with the buyer. I want my 12.99 refunded to me.

eBay is just one of the those bloated companies who treat their customers badly. I sold a laptop on eBay & was told the listing would be free. Now if you're told something is free, you would expect it to be free. After selling the laptop, PayPal takes their portion (for whatever reason) and the price I get is lowered. I understand posting with eBay, you do have to get those portions taken out but I then received another invoice from eBay, stating that I owed them money. And I also owes money for an item that didn't sell. Now if you sell an item on eBay, you should be charged accordingly but fair. But if it didn't sell, they'll still charge you? So instead of making profit, you've wasted time and energy, plus extra money to satiate their greed.
After calling PayPal they transferred me to eBay customer service, which the phone number for them is almost unattainable, they promptly told me there's nothing they can do for me. She even went as far as to say "I don't care about what you're saying, this is the companies policy." Now if you're working in customer service, you do not talk to customers in that type of manner. She was very rude and did not help me in anyway.
So instead of using a website like Craigslist or something along those lines, I'll be charged for no reason due to eBay just being one of those companies who care all about the money and not their customers. This truly made me realize that eBay does NOT care about customers and are too consumed with corporate greed. After all, these "hidden" fees are just ways for them to make their bucks. I am 100% disappointed and irate that a company would do this without clearly stating what their intentions from the beginning.

After countless hours on the phone with eBay employees, I thought the matter was explained and resolved and I was allowed to continue my business as usual. They charged me fees to repost my listings they had removed only to remove them all again the next day. I argued this point and gave up for a few months. Finally I contacted them again and was told by an eBay employee if I paid these fees, my account would be reinstated (extortion). However I paid the fees and started to list my items only to have them refuse to list them.
Again on the phone with eBay, I was told my account was linked to this individual and was suspended. I have went as far as changing my internet provider so no one else would be on the same IP address as me. eBay is a scam, they lie and steal from people trying to make an honest living. I feel like I have been stolen from by having to pay fees for things that never were listed and losing money from what was a major part of my income for months.

I'm a small business owner located in Denver Colorado. As a business owner we took advantage of eBay seller program which states sellers are protected. Then started a PayPal account which is also owned by eBay. We then started selling items with a great track record and a awesome dash board. We sold over 500 items and did over 40,000 in our first quarter. Then we received a couple of customers who ordered multiple quantities then filed a not described on us. Customers said did not received full order when it was clearly verified on our end through inventory and through shipping weight and price that we were being scammed by these customers.
We contacted eBay and were directed to their poorly trained customer service reps where they could not help us at all! There is no seller protection policy which protects the seller, but only protecting eBay and its cruel and unjust so called resolutions. eBay also placed a hold on my PayPal account because of the customers' false accusations which brought my seller performance lower. Has a business owner cash flow is crucial! eBay had placed my PayPal account on hold for weeks at a time which took a huge effect and almost causing my business to crumble. I was scared of losing my business and communicated that to eBay. eBay does not favor in sellers and protects criminals, scammers and thieves.

I did get a hold of a live person over eBay last month when I had to check in to see why I was being charged all those listing fees. The woman was helpful and understanding - told me I had exceeded my 100 free slots and that was why. A few days later on the first of the month I started at zero again; went to list probably my 50th and now I have fees again. They all add up and I can't afford to list - especially since eBay traffic and my own sales have dropped recently. It takes time and money to finally get thru to a Rep. I can't call again.
I guess (like most sellers) I'll have to list elsewhere. She had told me to look for my free slots under "promotions" in the account's section of my eBay; I'm very strangely at None and it’s only mid-month. And fees... okay, many storefronts and Amazon do not asses one - eBay may elect to do so but for larger volume listers 30 cents feel harsh. Its insurmountable really, sellers are dispersing even if it’s for a couple weeks out of the month.

eBay permanently suspended my account because I (supposedly) sold a Volvo car on eBay. I did not. They charged me $132.00 for this non sale. When I called to complain, they informed me that I'd sold a Volvo. When I said I never did, they looked and said it sold in 2008. I asked who the buyer was. They could not find a buyer. I asked what, when, or where did any money from this sale go. They could find no money or buyer. Yet, they say I owe $132.00 for this sale. After hours on the phone, with 8 different people, nothing changed. Of course, I still refuse to pay and this morning, 02/16/2015, I find my account has been turned over to a collection agency. Over the past year I have purchased about 10 LED Light Bulbs from different companies on and off Ebay. Most of the bulbs I have purchased have burned out in less than one year - they are suppose to last better than 15 years and they did not make it a whole year. The few I have left that have not burned out, I am sure will. The companies they have came from are slow with refunds and it gets harder to get a refund when you have more than one bulb burn out from the same company. Don't waste your time and money buying LED Light Bulbs from China. They are poorly built and only warrantied for 1 to 2 years. Well, GE and Great Value brand have about a 22 year warranty. I purchased a linen damask tablecloth on eBay. The seller described it as follows: "Very good condition, free of wear or damage.." She also said the cloth was 90"x108". I requested that she ship the cloth directly to specialty linen laundry. When they received it, they emailed me that it was 88.5" wide, and had a spot (which might not come out), and a worn spot the size of an index finger. They enclosed pictures of the damage. They DID NOT launder the cloth. I immediately forwarded this to the seller. She replied that she had hand washed and ironed this cloth and it was in perfect condition and the laundry had damaged the item. They had done nothing but inspect it, as is their policy.
I forwarded pictures to her and she claimed she couldn't see the damage (it is quite visible). She told me to file a complaint with eBay and would return my money. I filed the complaint, they contacted the seller, she told them that the 3rd party had damaged the cloth, and they ruled in her favor. I appealed the ruling and suggested that eBay contact the specialty laundry. They refused to do so. They said I would have had to personally seen the damage for them to rule in my favor - that it says this in their "terms".
I have been buying on eBay for 16 years and have 100% rating. eBay is allowing this dishonest woman to get by with it. They could easily have contacted this specialty laundry (which ONLY launders high value, specialty linens), and could have looked at the pictures themselves and seen that this was not as described. Now, I must pay to have it repaired, and I will have a very expensive mended cloth, not the perfect one I paid for.

I've been selling on ebay for last 14 month. I become a power seller with 100% feedback on over 233 transactions + waiting on at least another 40 feedbacks... to take it up around 270. I'm in Australia and I had a ebay buyer ** from Missouri in the US ask to purchase a set of holden commodore vx sedan tail lights... I had them on ebay for $39.95... with postage insurance to the USA. It was $156.00 all up. So I bubble wrapped the tail light put them in a machinery box for ** to save on import duties... sent them off. 3.5 weeks later they arrived.
He sent me a message saying I had 3 options 1 send another light, 2 refund, 3 start ebay case. So I opted to ring ebay and have them deal with the issue on my behalf... The operator was getting off the phone to me and was ringing the buyer **. Week went by and had message from ebay telling me to pay for a return postage. (The item sale was $39.95 +postage $115) I said I don't need to do that as Australia post told me the buyer had to take damage goods to the local post office so I could start the insurance claim... but the buyer refused to do so. So I couldn't claim the insurance.
On the 2nd of February I was emailed by ebay about the case thing that the buyer started... I had enough by then as ebay was doing as they promised me. I don't need this stress. So I opted to refund half the product cost which was $75.62... (sale was $39.95). So I was losing out but in saying that I was protecting my power seller status thinking it had be finished with. Ebay then refunded the buyer the rest of the purchase on the 14th February 2015... $75.62.
So my original sale of $39.95 cost me Around $155.00 dollars with insurance... The buyer left me negative feedback. I refunded him for the whole purchase and never received my damage goods... so I couldn't claim insurance. My ad states buyer pays return postage. How did all this end up costing me so much money and getting what the buyer threatened me with... negative feedback when I opted to meet his demands (threats).... mind you I never damaged any goods. It was damaged in transit by postage company that I had insurance for the item with. I just can't get any help from ebay over this matter. They won't return my calls. When they do each person tells my a different outcome... SO SELLER BEWARE. Ebay buyer seem to have control over this site NOT THE SELLER WHO'S PAYING THE FEE'S...

At first, I had to make all the pictures black-and-white and not even mention any colors in the description. Do You know how Ebay is advertising that they are helping people? You know how Paypal is advertising that they are the biggest lenders on the earth? You know where that money is coming from? From customers like me, that just got robbed from 3 directions. My partner and I, at retirement age, decided to buy a couple of very cheap houses, bear in mind that these are cheaper than used cars, and see what we could get for them on Ebay. We were aware that we have to pay $100 for the listing, and we figured it's not that bad if we make at least $500 on a house. First of all, we learned that Ebay has their little trolls, which I'm sure they train by now. Nobody would waste their time going and buying expensive items just to not pay. We still have to pay to relist, and that gives them another $100, and another $100, and so on.
Around Christmas time, I had a little house in Kentucky that got bought by a UK resident, who was telling me that she wanted to buy her daughter in KY the house for Christmas. Bear in mind that I did not do this on Ebay, since they don't like it. The lady said she was a mother, she was crying that she cannot reach the bank, and I let her pay through Paypal. It appeared to be a fraud. As soon as the property went to the lady's name, she told Paypal that the house "was not delivered on time", which does not make sense to anyone. Paypal decided that she needs to get her money back, without even asking me. So, I lost the house, and at this point they started wanting me to pay THEM for that house, as well.
Between that time and now, some fraudster got into my account (which I suspect to be related to them, as well), and asked for $350, and they pretended to give to him. From here, the story gets even better. My partner's account, since we were a joint venture, got linked to my account, and all of the sales got blocked. Sales did, but the billing did not. So now, I am told that I have to pay Ebay $500, $350 to some random fraudster, and for the house, my account is $1600 negative, and then when they resolved a case where I was supposed to get back $80, they just took it. Since I am not a young chicken, as well as my friend, that's what we are thinking now: Since this kind of loss is not really unstressful, if me or her will wind up with a heart attack, Ebay and Paypal will probably have enough money to pay the settlement to our kids.
Since You know what, I just talked for the 10th time to the Paypal customer service, and he told me that if I sell on Ebay, or deal with Paypal, I need to have at least $10,000 on the side to cover any and all fraud that happens against me. Very good advertising for the "almighty and safe" eBay. I'm sure they would advise their sellers to donate their accounts and life savings and run into traffic if they could, but I don't plan to do that for them. I was never robbed this badly in my life, I even was carjacked once and it was less stressful than dealing with them.

Because I did this, the company I purchased this from (bfs.enterprises) claimed that "the unit is no longer in the original condition." Therefore, no refund will be honored.
E-bay immediately agreed with this and confirmed this on appeal. How may people know that E-bay will support a company to not refund defective products just because you followed the owner’s manual during installation! bfs.enterprises is not a certified reseller therefore, the warranty from the manufacturer is void! On 20 January 2015, I purchased a Macbook Pro laptop on eBay for $791. The seller listed it in working order and having been inspected by Apple. The seller had excellent feedback, excellent communication, and it arrived promptly on 23 January. Just over a week later, the logic board failed, and the seller refused to accept a return, a partial refund for the estimated cost of repairs (an additional $425), or provide documentation that it had been inspected by Apple. The repair shop where I had it inspected confirmed that the logic board was faulty, and that the failure was not caused by user error.
I opened a case with eBay on 3 February stating that the item was not as described (since the seller had no proof that it had been inspected by Apple), and it had failed within the time frame of their 30-day Buyer Protection clause. Ebay closed the case on 5 February in favour of the seller stating that because I had owned it for a week before contacting the seller for a return, it had been altered and was no longer returnable. My purchase should be covered under eBay's 30-day protection, but they have instead sided with a seller who lied about the condition of the computer.
I have spoken directly with the case manager at eBay, but she was not helpful. I have contacted the seller once again requesting a partial refund for cost of repairs or a full refund for a return. The seller replied that she would offer me an $85 gift card 'as a goodwill gesture only' once I forward her the receipt for the repairs.
I have filed official complaints about eBay's customer service with the Better Business Bureau and IC3; but I am still out $791 for a computer shaped brick, and an additional $425 if I want it repaired. I cannot contest the charge through PayPal, because the case has been closed, and I cannot contest the charge with my bank, because the seller refuses to authorize a return for the computer.
The customer service team is unhelpful, rude, and hung up on me twice after I respectfully requested to appeal the case. I have been an eBay customer since 2006, and I have had excellent dealings with eBay up until now. I submitted my bid and after 10:00 pm (approx. 10:03) ebay sent me an alert that said "you are the high bidder" and "auction ended". I took a screen shot with my phone to keep. Much to my dismay, ebay apparently lied to me because they let two other bidders into the auction after the auction had ended and I was subsequently outbid. The disheartening thing after being cheated and lied to, was way "covered up" tried to sweep it under the carpet in hopes I would just go away. So now it's the principle of the thing and people need to be alerted to the lies, canned speeches and corporate rhetoric that "spews forth" out of ebay.
I have been a great customer of ebay and I even have a "new star" to show that ... (the oooohs and aahhhhhs come from the crowd again as they see the new star). Since they hung up on me numerous times and told me that their managers and officers did not take phone calls ... (Go figure huh?) this will be my new forum. I hope to embarrass and be a thorn in the side of eBay so that what they took from me (in a normally honest bidding system in the past) will be a greater cost to them than when I suggested a "free shipping coupon" to help make up for what they did. This is a terrible way to treat a "valued"? customer. Oh yeah ... I guess even with a second level blue star (again the crowd ooohs and aahhs at the star being held in the air) I am still not worthy of being treated fairly even they are given an easy way out.
Integrity is something as a consumer that I look for in today's marketplace. Apparently I was mislead or just misread the integrity that I thought ebay had. And by the way ... I found out from one of clerks and support people, that they had been receiving quite a number of complaints about this same thing happening lately (2 in the last week). So ... what does ebay do ... deny that it happened ... hope it goes away and refuse to make it right. Is this type of thing growing why Mr Donahoe is leaving ... ebay has a "crumbling" moral code? ... ebay cares little for their customers? ... ebay, as long as things flow normal (or nobody complains about the apparent lack honesty and integrity) they are ignorant of issues? ... When there are issues of customers being treated unfairly or dishonestly, they bury their head in the sand with denials and canned speeches and/or hang up on the complainer?

We could not dispute this with Ebay and started engraving my license number with my signature of the component and we still had people swaps parts and Ebay never found in our favor so we figured it was just a cost of doing business and quit selling those parts. I even had a empty box returned and since the USPS showed delivery the buyer received full refund and we had no say in it. However, now that our sales are restricted we can not generate enough to attempt to raise our selling ratings for some time to come.

I was a top seller over 6 years ago but stopped because of fees. I decided to sell a few items and A new buyer bought a item and said it was damaged. I said "OK return it." But it came back with more damage because buyer did not pack it right for return. (I even took pictures for Ebay of the damages) But ebay did not care. They took money out of my account without asking. (checking account) They also charged me fees and made me pay for shipping. Ebay is trying to act like a retailer when it's just a auction house that really puts the screws to sellers. I filed all the required complaints and never heard back from Ebay. Please ran far away from Ebay. There is so much better out there than this company.
I now have a item that I agreed to return because of damage to a binding on a snowboard. I was going to replace the binding and resell now I am stuck with a broken board and Ebay won't even respond to any of my questions. Be careful sellers. Ebay does not care about you and they take money out of your private account without asking and they tell after the fact not before. Sellers beware! Buyers on eBay have ALL of the rights. You can do everything according to policy. You can ship with insurance and a tracking number, and provide documentation that your item was received by the buyer. If buyers claim anything was wrong with your item, or that they received an opened envelope, eBay will pull money out of your account, no questions asked, and refund their money. The buyer proves nothing, and can keep their item and their money. Any claim filed against a seller by a buyer, will be decided on the side of the buyer with no investigation.

Spoke with ebay today.... I have to pay return shipping because he returned as NOT AS DESCRIBED! Total BS. The rep also told me today... after I asked her why 16 year veteran sellers didn't at least get a benefit of the doubt... and she said "MA'AM, LOOK AT IT THIS WAY - WE ARE THE MALL, YOU ARE A TENANT. WE ARE JUST HERE TO COLLECT!" Can you believe that? Just here to collect huh? Well, I said "I am pretty clear on that - nearly $20,000 in fees to eBay." I bought a vintage Chanel bag on EBAY. I received the item and was very pleased, but found the bag too big for me. I sold it on EBAY with the exact photos and description that were used when I purchased it. The buyer received the item and said that it was "ripped and torn" and "damaged." There were, in fact, only minor scratches on the inside of the bag. It is a 23 year old vintage item so that can be expected. EBAY issued a return on the buyers behalf agreeing that my listing did not match the photos that they buyer sent them. However, I haven't seen these photos so for all I know if the buyer's dog ripped the item apart and now wants to get her money back.
EBAY did a terrible job getting both sides of the story before issuing a refund to this possible thief. I am incredibly angry to have to deal with this situation and DO NOT RECOMMEND EBAY TO ANYONE. You're not safe. Your best interest is not their concern.

I posted my laptop with total transparency, searching similar items to see how they had been advertised, wanting to be clear and accurate about the specs I was posting.
I posted screen-grabs from my laptop to show buyers the details of what I was posting, as evidence of their authenticity. Within 24 hours, without any attempt to verify my identity or the details of my posting eBay indefinitely and permanently suspended my account without any possibility to appeal. I have spoken with managers at eBay who's best answer was that they reserve the right to determine who buys and sells on eBay, without any attempt to know details of the buyers and sellers and what they are attempting to buy or sell. Good luck figuring out ebay crooked fee structure. They can pretty much take whatever they want since you provide your bank account up front. Trying to figure how they come up with such a huge profit on your sales value? You'll go from page to page on ebay without ever seeing the fee scale... and in order to determine their fee, you have to enter in as much info as it takes to place an ad. Can't wait for another sales venue that doesn't think their customers are not worthy of this info.

I was using my voice command when listing, and I explain this to the customer service representative, explaining it was a simple mistake. She refused to help me and told me I needed to take the suspension as a time to read up on the policy. Even after she looked over the case and saw it was just a simple misspelling she would do nothing to help me. When I asked to speak to her manager she told me no and asked me why numerous times and was very argumentative.
I cannot believe eBay lets people like this represent their company. I am done with eBay and will let everyone know how crappy they are to do business with and what a rip off they are. They do not work with you, they work against you. I will also let the internet world know and post reviews everywhere about eBay's customer service. Totally unacceptable. So now eBay, after about an hour on hold phone, states seller does not understand English well, and they will now intervene with seller to send return label/postage.
Now this is after several emails, phone call, and 5 days of problems over item under $70. They agreed seller must pay return shipping as original listing not mention Japanese-only issue, thus item "not as described". Had to ring their "escalating team" to go further, as no email option (convenient ay, no record of broken promises). They told me they'd email seller & tell him he must buy return shipping label.
Waited too long, eventually emailed seller. He said he never received any email from ebay. Rang escalating (stalling) team again, asked them simply to check if that email was sent, operator muttered something about transferring me to another department and before I could object I found myself on hold. Stayed on line for an hour before realising I'd been dumped in the waste basket. Now too late to leave feedback, and ebay emailed me "This return is closed". Recently eBay contacted me telling me that they have found an account that is linked to my name. They say the account opened used my name and my past address and opened the account at the end of last year and it was recently limited due to some type of "Product Issue"? So they linked the account to mine and now they claim that it is 100% mine, and nothing I say or do changes anything.
First of all, it is way to easy to open up an eBay account under someone else's name and address and start selling. There is nothing done to verify that this is the real person or if this is their real address. Finding someone with an eBay account's name and address would be very easy. A person could buy a small, inexpensive item and then you will know the name and address of someone with an email account. Then you could create a fraudulent account like in my case, sell a bunch of stuff, and then the person who's account was used on the name would be responsible for anything that happens.
I have tried to talk with eBay on the phone about 4 times, and they could have easily investigated as mush as I did to find out the seller was somewhere overseas. I also asked if they could investigate the email address used on the account and determine through PayPal if the name is the same as mine and they said they didn't have that information. This again seems insane because in this case of fraud, they should attempt to take more action and catch these people rather than putting my account in some type of restriction mode and allowing this fraudster to continue using my information to sell online. I expect eBay to remove this fraudulent account that they linked to mine and reimburse me for the six plus hours spent trying to resolve it, including the huge cell phone bill. That would be the very least they could do, considering my paralyzed wife who is under my care, suffered the most.

Your return policy doesn't matter. You can write whatever you want. Once the buyer claims item not as described, you are screwed. There is no such thing as 'seller protection' (unless you believe in unicorns). EBay CSRs are lying to sellers promising resolution in their favor (but never fulfill their promises).
EBay manipulates search results in favor of Chinese wholesalers (even those with hundreds negatives will be listed but your listing will not show up). EBay is always in favor of buyers that create amazing playground for 'renting' items from you then returning broken, used items (or not returning at all) but they will always receive full refund (that will be taken by eBay from your PayPal account).
EBay will do everything to strip you of your Top Rated seller status in order to make you ineligible for seller discount (you will never get it back unless you are high volume seller). You will have to wait on average more than an hour for customer support to pickup your phone call (they do not have email customer support so you never have anything in writing. They can lie and mislead you all they want over the phone). Once you contact them they will NEVER resolve any issue in your favor. NEVER. Trust me.
Once they locked my account prohibiting me from selling a gift card saying that I have more than one GCs listed and I had NONE listed. It took 3 phone calls, 3 different CSR divisions and at the end they NEVER fixed the problem. :) Another time, a classic eBay scammer 'rented' one of my items for 14 days, returned it broken and eBay forced full refund from my account. After my complaints, they change buyer's claim to 'NOT AS DESCRIBED' just because it was enough to strip me off my Top Rated discount (and even I got confirmation from buyer that he just 'DID NOT WANT THE ITEM ANYMORE', eBay firmly stated that the item was not as described).
EBay also deleted one of my listings claiming that I was selling a recalled item. (They even gave me warning). I called eBay customer service 5 times with invoices from the manufacturer and the documentation that the item I was selling was not the one that was recalled years ago. They couldn't do anything, but they were promising to fix that (on the other hand Chinese drop shippers' listings with exactly the same product and item description were never removed).
Another time some not so bright buyer from PR received his item in 3 business days and gave me 1 star rating for too long delivery (no, I do not offer next day delivery to PR just regular USPS Priority Mail) and eBay was happy just because of that I've lost my sellers discount. One of my items was lost by USPS and I send another item to buyer for FREE. EBay still count that against me as a cancelled (even if buyer receive the item and never complained about the transaction).
AS A SELLER YOU WILL NEVER GET ANY PROTECTION FROM EBAY. THEY WILL WORK HARD IN ORDER TO STRIP YOU OF ANY DISCOUNTS AND SELLER 'PRIVILEGES'. 10 years selling on eBay ~$70K in sales ~900 transactions. DONE WITH EBAY AFTER TEN YEARS OF SELLING.

I called eBay and there was nothing I could have done, my rating is now 92.3% based on 5 issues out of 185 transactions. I am penalized if something breaks in the mail as well. Now I'm on warning and it doesn't make any sense. Since my layoff, this is my only income and people are not going to buy from someone with a low rating. eBay is simply just for the buyer. For the most part any complaint I had was handled properly and only on one occasion did they have to honor the "100% guarantee." A problem developed with an item that was purchased and did not arrive for three weeks--eBay was contacted and THEY informed me that they considered a late delivery to fall under their guidelines of "not as described".
I indicated that the item had been refused, as agreed between seller and myself, and that a refund was promised--this was not done and when eBay was contacted they did not make a effort to correct the situation and refused a refund--the seller has the item and money and I have in turn terminated my association with eBay. I recommend that anyone using the site be especially careful in understanding that eBay is not truthful in their representations of 100% guarantee. There is ZERO Seller Protection under eBay's new (unlimited) Hassle Free Returns Policy. Seller dashboard allows sellers to choose "no-refund" but the new TOS overrides the seller's return policy and forces all sellers into offering 100% full refund. I sold a $1200 sheepskin coat on eBay, As-is/No Returns, and clearly specified that the low price ($99) was due to the FACT that the coat needed to be dry-cleaned. The buyer paid and I sent the coat via FedEx the day after receipt of payment.
A few days later, the buyer started a return process via eBay claiming the coat was dirty and damaged. Despite my many phone calls, eBay sided with the Buyer and issued a full refund, including UPS shipping at nearly double the cost of FedEx shipping without so much as allowing me to submit pictures taken of the coat the very day I packed and shipped it.
Upon receipt of the "returned" coat, I found that it was worn, has fresh unsightly and possibly permanent stains on the elbows, as well a fresh cut on the sleeve near the elbow. I called eBay again to appeal their decision, since I did not receive the coat in the same condition as when I shipped it to the buyer. After 15 years on eBay and over 1000 positive transactions, eBay now has a policy that not only allows, but encourages buyers to use and abuse the items they purchase while "guaranteeing" a full refund, so long as the buyer checks the correct box on the return form.
Prior to listing (and selling) this coat on eBay, I was the proud owner of an 8 pound, full hide, sheepskin coat, in excellent condition - with the exception of needing to be dry-cleaned. What I have now is a stained, torn, piece of garbage after the buyer used it, stained it, and tore it - that I am going to have a hard time giving away, much less selling.

Instead they tried to remove it from my debit card which the bank denied. Then ebay slapped me with an additional $15 fee for my payment being declined. I called customer service hoping they could waive the fee, as I have excellent ratings. According to the lady I spoke with, the $15 fee is automatic and there is nothing she can do about it.
It turns out when you link your ebay account to your paypal account you are automatically signed up for Ebay Direct Payment, meaning any seller fees are deducted from your bank account rather than through paypal. I've bought over a hundred items on ebay in the last year. All transactions went through paypal, so why would I expect the sellers fee to come directly from my bank account?

I don't sell very often so I tend to forget that communications from the seller will go to my defunct email address.
Consequently my last transaction had poor communication and my buyer, although I explained the reasons to him, got eBay to reduce my approval rating from 100% to 95%. I know this is small stuff in the scale of human suffering, but what is particularly annoying is that I wrote to eBay in October to their UK HQ, politely outlining the problem and asking for the solution, and got no reply.

I have been an eBay member since 2010. While I have mostly used eBay for buying in the past, I have recently begun to use it to sell some household items. In the first two weeks of using eBay I have had 5 items listed and 2 of them have left me completely frustrated with eBay's failure to protect the seller. My complaint is with the eBay Feedback System.
I have had to deal with multiple buyers who have no intention of paying or following through on their order or word. They also then have the ability to leave negative feedback on a sellers account while the seller is unable to leave negative feedback on a buyer’s account. When buying or selling on eBay, much credit is given to buyers with a high percentage of positive feedback. If a buyer has 98%-100% feedback, you are reasonably assured that they are a reliable person to deal with. However, eBay has removed the sellers’ ability to leave neutral or negative feedback, meaning that the feedback reflected on a bad buyer’s account is absolutely useless and does not actually reflect their buying habits.
For example, a buyer for one of my items had a 100% positive feedback rating, but upon further investigation I found that other sellers had had the exact problem I had, but due to being unable to leave negative feedback, they had leave their negative comments under the positive feedback heading (the only option actually available). The buyer has a perfect rating but the comments (which are not immediately viewable) were not reflecting their rating and showed frustration from other sellers.
The buyer told me that they would purchase the item but when it came down to it they cancelled and I was left with three times the amount of work to report them, cancel the order and relist the item, not to mention all the other people watching the item had left as it had been sold for 3 days before this happened. Even going through the rigmarole of opening an unpaid item claim is a hassle that is becoming more frequent simply because bad users have a perfect rating and therefore you don't know the trouble you're in for until after the transaction has begun.
I completely understand that eBay cannot control people's buying habits, nor are they responsible for bad buyers but they absolutely are responsible for protecting the seller as much as the buyer. If the feedback rating is to be used as a reliable (and heavily relied-upon) method of reflecting users rating, then all users, whether sellers or buyers, should have the ability to leave feedback that is an accurate reflection for others to see. That is, after all, the point of the feedback system; to share and reward good users, and warn people about bad users (whether buying or selling). This lack of reliable feedback has been a direct cause of me losing time, reliable buyers and also money when trying to be a legitimate seller on eBay.

They sided with the customer I lost over $200 plus eBay fees.
The second complaint is, why does eBay charge a fee to the seller on delivery charges? We already pay a fee for selling and listing an item. I take losses on shipping 99% of the time and eBay still collects a cut on this. That's a third party that we pay to a vendor such as UPS, FedEx or the USPS. Why is eBay charging on us? I am done with Ebay and want to close my account.

I used an eBay promotion to sell an item and used their shipping guidance calculator to allow the buyer to pay for the item. eBay stated that you can't make any changes to the shipping guidance calculator and had put the item for less weight than it actually was. So when the buyer paid for the item, I printed the shipping label and brought the package to the post office. At the post office once the label is scanned (post office policy is to scan a label first then weigh it) they weighed it and found it was underweight. I had owed $15.00 more for the extra weight. I asked for the package back but the woman at the post office said she couldn't do that, for it would be shipping fraud and either I pay the remaining balance or they call the police since it was a pre-postage paid label. So I paid and she said, "this was an on-going problem with eBay and that I should call them or file a complaint against them".
When I called eBay's customer service the woman that answered said, "I should go down and get the package or ask the buyer to pay the difference". When I told her to ask the buyer she said, "NO!" and when I told her it was a felony by FEDERAL LAW she said it's ok go do it. I explained to her 3 times that I would get arrested and she each time asked that I break the law. When I requested to speak to her boss she said there was none. I wrote the attorney-general about this and eBay's response was that I am at fault, that I can change the shipping calculator and that goes against what they originally had told me. They also stated I wasn't clear on the fact they asked me to BREAK the law and commit shipping fraud.
As for selling on eBay they claimed shipping guidance is an option but if you sell something, it defaults to it and doesn't give you a choice unless you go in manually and change it. They also stated that I keep in mind that their services may or may not be followed. But their email promotions strictly state that if you don't, you are not covered under them and will not receive any coupons or benefits if you don't follow their pricing, shipping, auction style (with no buy it now), and so on. They have been nothing but condescending towards me from the start and have tried to get me charged with federal charges. I believe they create these shipping weights knowing a buyer would have never paid the actual postage and leaving the seller to pay the rest once it is scanned, knowing that if they don't send it out and pay the rest they will be arrested.
As I have stated I have tried multiple times to get some kind of resolution to this problem, and when I told them I would go to the state attorney-general or higher about how they asked me to break the law and frauded me, they said they couldn't wait to hear from them. If needed I will submit promotion emails from eBay stating how you have to follow their policies or they will not cover you and how you CAN'T change anything.

I've been an eBay member since 2005, PowerSeller with over 1,200 (100%) feedback. I offer 14-days return policy on 95% of my listings. I would rather offer a refund and take at loss than to get a bad feedback which sometime end up on the losing side but customers are always right. I got up last week and saw that my account has been suspended. I called eBay to inquire, and to plead my case, I was told that there had been violations, but they couldn't and wouldn't provide me with any specifics. I can spread the word on eBay's questionable policies, and overall lack of customer service. This is crazy.

Be careful on selling on EBay. There is no seller protection- just for the buyer. I sold some theme park tickets and after 2 months exactly the day they expired the buyer requested a refund, cuz they couldn't use them, cuz according to he/she the park asked for the credit card they used to buy them. What a lie, parks never ask for nothing. You just scan the ticket at the gate like anyone does. Also what a coincidence that they request a refund the same day they expired. I contacted ebay to let them know what happened and the customer service lady was having problems with her PC. She couldn't do anything to help me after 1 hour in the phone.
Two days later I check my account and a refund was issued. I call Ebay back to let then know and after 3 hours on the phone with then, PayPal and my bank, they said I made a voluntary refund. I told them I didn't and that might happen, cuz customer service was having problems before. At the end I give up. So I contacted the buyer requesting the tickets, cuz if they have the money I want the item. I wanted to contact the park with the ticket number to find out if they used them.
After two weeks trying to reach the buyer they never responded, so I contacted Ebay to let them know. eBay send a message to the buyer and said that if he/she doesn't respond I had to contact them back to open a case. A week passed and nothing from the buyer, so I called ebay. They opened the case and came with the decision to reverse the case and refund then money back to me. They said it was going to get 24-48 hours to get my money back as a paypal credit and that I don't needed to take any further action. I received a confirmation number and an email that explain what they did.
A week later and I checked my paypal account and no money was refunded, so I called PayPal to see if something was pending and nothing wasn't. So, I called Ebay again and I explained all the situation again, the guy from customer service said that I should get my money back since I didn't received my item, but if the appealing department already took that action they will let me know what happened with the money. He transferred me and the lady that took care said that I cannot get my money, cuz I made I voluntary refund since the beginning.
I told her that I wasn't going to fight that again saying that I didn't do it, but that I was just calling to see what happen with either my money or the item and the last decision they made to reverse the case, cuz buyer never refunded the money. She said "that will not happen." I told her I had a confirmation number and an email, plus the guy said to me that I was going to get the money back on PayPal. At the end she said "it's not going to happen, what he told you doesn't count, you ain't going to get nothing." So there is no protection to the seller, watch out, there are some people taking advantages of this and the seller has no option. That's why Amazon is better.

** For the honest guy who occasionally tries to sell something on Ebay.** Sold a brand new $700 item (with a $300 MIR if bought from the manufacturer directly), 55 lbs electronic item on ebay for $220. It comes with a free accessory ($40 retail, weighing 5 lbs) in a separate package. I shipped them both for free as listed. Buyer claimed that only the big electronic item arrived in its original packaging and the accessory did not and requested a refund. When I mentioned that I did ship both of them together, he became verbally abusive and assumed that I was scamming him.
He threatened me to refund the $40 because Ebay was going to take his side and that I will have to take back the item suffering shipping cost losses (both ways) in the process. I refused to give in to what amounts to a shakedown. My Fedex tracking information contains the shipping item dimensions and weight which is consistent with my claim that both the product and the accessory were shipped. I am sure I can get security footage from the shipping office that will show what I actually shipped.
Well, the buyer was right. Got a mail from Ebay two days later stating that a decision was made in favor of the buyer. When I called Ebay, I was told that they have a clear policy and that this "unfortunate" incident is the cost of doing business. :)
In a nutshell, there is no seller protection. I suppose, if I were a big business, I can write off such incidents as one-off cases. Ebay does not take any dispute in context. In his emails, buyer wanted $40 for the accessory. However, Ebay just asked him to the return the whole item. On a dispute involving an item that is 10% of the transaction and 10% of the weight, Ebay decided to void the whole transaction.
Btw, the electronic item was opened by the buyer. And Ebay said that the buyer was well within his rights to open the package to look for the accessory. So, I started with a $400 electronic item that was brand new in the original box which I wanted to sell off for $200. Thanks to Ebay. I now have an open box electronic item (hopefully, the buyer hasn't damaged the functionality) and I am $100 in the hole. And I spent 6-8 hours in front of a computer and on the phone.
Basically, if you value your time and you are not fully relying on Ebay to pay your rent, just stay away. Not worth the hassle. P.S: I will still use Ebay to buy cheap electronics accessories from china.

I was on eBay and had noticed a jewelry set that I had placed a bid on. It had a reserve price on it. Valued at $900 supposedly, I bid. Buy-it-now was $450. I was nowhere near the price with a bid of $40.99. The auction ended and I was high bid, reserve still not met. Imagine my surprise when the seller offered me a second chance offer to purchase the item. I took him up on it, not knowing if the item was damaged, the clarity, loose stones, etc. and with no appraisal. It's worth the chance. The following morning, I receive an email from the seller now claiming eBay made a mistake and that the offer shouldn't have been extended to me and that, in the seller's own words, he "will not be sending the ring for no $40.99." I reply to him that I will follow up with eBay and I did. They made a report. They also made a complaint but tell me they cannot do anything as far as making him give the ring.
eBay will not give any buyer protection as far as the money I am out (a $900 value for $41 is quite a difference! I count on deals like this to make a living too you know! I'm disabled and am unable to work out of the home because my doctor will not release me work, being physically unable), they will not tell me if his buying/selling privileges are revoked (he only had 45 stars anyway, all of which were from purchases he made), and to make a bad situation downright ugly, the agent we spoke to the last time walked us through the resolution page, had us cancel the transaction despite the fact we told her we still wanted the item, and then she refused to get a manager on the phone and proceeded to hang up on us.

He said he send it somewhere to be checked and is still missing. I opened a case against him that ebay silently close in the exact date that it was suppose to intervene and sort this. Now my money are lost and my phone is stolen. Be careful with the thieve itrust365. What is the reason I pay a commission if ebay covers thieves that operate in this manner. I just sold some gold last week. My feedback is 853 100%. I want the sellers to be very aware in selling on eBay. I had 2 buyers that overpay on my items. Now the buyer wants some refund and one gave me my first negative feedback then open a case. One I sold him 10k gold bracelet 2.2g and he paid $42. He said that the latch does not work. I am the one who shipped it and checked it - nothing wrong with it. I called eBay customer service about this buyer first about the feedback and this is what they said to me. "Not to worry about feedback - it’s just an opinion. It will not affect your selling" and they want me to refund the buyer $15 - that's almost half. EBay will not help the seller but what they forgot that the buyer will not exist without a seller. I am 100% finished selling on eBay. Since 2007, I did secure some good buyers that I can sell direct without eBay NIGHTMARE.

I have been on eBay since 1999 and it's 2015. I was called today by an eBay expert and told that one of my auctions (Nike Air Jordans) was going to be removed because it wasn't authentic. Of course I told her she was wrong as those shoes were purchased from Foot Locker. I wasn't happy as I have been selling on eBay for 16 years and have over 500 pairs of Jordans and never have or will wear it sell fakes. She really got mad and said that ALL my auctions were fake and I would regret it then she hung up. So I called eBay and after 50 minutes talked to someone in charge. She informed me that I was no longer able to sell on eBay and that this was final. I explained to her what had happened and she kept saying "doesn't matter" it's done. I talked to her for 30 minutes telling her that they were wrong and something should be done. I got nowhere. She told me that I couldn't do anything and that it was final.
I have bought ALL my shoes from EASTBAY, FOOT LOCKER, Nike, Finish Line, Champs and so on. So I guess I better talk to them since an EXPERT from eBay thinks they are fake. It is unreal - That after doesn't years and 100% seller rating and 1719 positive feedbacks this could be done because I didn't agree with her decision. I thought this was AMERICA??? To be talked to and treated like this is unreal! How can this be?? And my roommate got an email that their eBay account is under investigation because they are ASSOCIATED with me. I still can't believe this!!! I am dumbfounded.
I need to find another way to sell on another website. My user id is ** for eBay to see. Thanks for the fair trial eBay. And you say you record all conversations please listen to this and tell your EXPERT that in AMERICA we don't treat people like this. No one should be treated like this. 16 years and one mad EXPERT with GOD COMPLEX and this happens. Unreal!!!!

On 11/16/2014 I purchased a pair of "Columbia" snow boots for my daughter from this seller. The boots were worn in the snow for the first time, during the first snowfall in January. Within minutes of being wet or maybe it was the cold temperature, whatever cheap glue was holding the boots together dissolved. The boots came apart at the seams, and the "rubber tips" cracked. Leaving my 13 year old stranded in the snow with cold wet feet. After multiple phone calls, transfers and emails, the seller refused a return of the item and refused to refund my money.
eBay backed her up because the sale was over 30 days old. eBay states "no one else posted any negative comments". Well how could they. This seller sells dozens, maybe hundreds of high end shoes, sneakers and boots. They look good when they arrive, so people leave positive reviews. It takes a little time for shoes to reveal themselves as fakes. eBay won't let you go back to leave more feedback to warn others. I used PayPal credit to pay so I was told to contact PayPal regarding 60 day buyer protection.
PayPal is a nightmare to deal with. I faxed in the dispute form and a record of my email conversations with eBay, as proof of the sellers refusal to accept a refund. I got a vague email response from PayPal telling me to log on to find out their decision of my dispute. Nothing was posted. Several hours, 10 phone calls, 21 transfers and I don't know how many representatives later, PayPal said that my proof that the seller refused a return isn't enough.
I have to, at my own expense, ship the boots back to the seller anyway (another $20-25 in addition to the $56 I already spent on the boots), so that I can provide PayPal a tracking number to prove I attempted to return the boots. And THEN PayPal will decide whether to refund the cost of the boots. Maybe. I will not be refunded the cost of my return shipping, no matter what. eBay and PayPal credit most definitely protect peddlers of fake designer labels. Too bad for me. And this seller is still peddling high end shoes and sneakers by the dozens. Where is she getting all these shoes, in so many sizes?

I sold a new designer handbag and the buyer used the bag and got ink on it and then opened a case because I would not refund for damaged merchandise, Ebay sided with her without any grounds for the decision and took the refund from my account plus $30 for shipping. I am doing this to support an elderly mom. When ebay doesn't appreciate that I have never had a complaint and have bought and sold with them for a long time, it shows they don't care about us at all. They train their Asian reps to say scripts like "I know how you feel, etc, but we can't help you." I will be closing my ebay store.
Also purchased a car from ebay 8 months or so ago. The car company made sure to always call me or text me but never send correspondence through ebay because he knew he was a crook and wanted no record of anything. He waits the 60 days before shipping the car with excuses, then you can't place a claim or give him bad feedback as their is only a short period to do so. The Car has lots of problems that he did not disclose... he lied to me so much and now won't take my calls. Ebay said they will check into it and in 8 months they never did Anything about it... Just kept taking my complaint calls and trashing them after the call. For a large company, they fail dreadfully in giving their sellers, and many times their buyers, any respect or support. I hope they get their just reward some day!

Apparently the above statement on their policies is a LIE and FRAUD. I ordered a product that appears to have been misdelivered by the post office. Post office won't do anything and Ebay won't either. It seems they don't understand the meaning of the word guarantee. Amazon is much better. I'm sending this to the US attorney General to see if they can do something about these crooks!!

We have an Ebay account for selling items. The Ebay commission on the sale of the items is supposed to be 10% of the cost of the item which is the final seller's fee on the item. Example: The item sells for $50, and Ebay commission should be $5.00. However, Ebay includes the price of the item plus the shipping charges, and charges a commission of 10% on the shipping also. They thereby end up with a final seller's fee that is higher.
The problem with this is that the shipping fee is an actual cost to the seller. Example: The shipping fee shown is $12.00; the actual cost to us is $12.00, and we are not making any money on the $12, but Ebay is receiving $5 + 1.20 in commissions which is WRONG.
Ebay has been advised of this and they have stated that other sellers have also complained, but interestingly they are always working on the issue but not actually doing "anything" about it and the Sellers are being ripped off. I hope this has made my complaint clear and easy to understand for others. It is never fun to be stolen from in any form.

I sold an item on eBay valued at the time about 1100 dollars I reduced it and sold it for 950 bucks for quick sale because I needed the cash. A long time buyer on eBay purchased the item. eBay policy is when a buyer purchase an item, for you to receive your cash quickly, you should ship the item as soon as you receive the payment which I did. I shipped out the item on the 18 of November through UPS. The buyer received it a week after shipment. 2 days later the buyer open a claim on eBay against me saying the item was not what was described he claimed, it was destroyed in shipment.
eBay contacted me to discuss a refund, I told eBay that it's possible but not likely that it was destroyed during shipment. He said that there was a part that weren't working, I told eBay that it was impossible for that particular part not to work. These item is full metal construction (numark ns7 mkii). To wrap it up, eBay told this buyer that he had 10 business days to ship the item back which would have made the buyer have my item for over 1 whole month in their possession. After doing some detective work of my own, I found out that the buyer had the older model that he was selling and he already had the newest model. So after adding it all up, he basically did a buy and switch of a part.
When I received my item, screws were missing from it and the buyer literally vandalized my item. And because he is a seniority seller/buyer on eBay, he knows how to manipulate their policy in his favor. Now eBay is basically saying "we believe him, we don't believe you so we refund him and now you owe us 950 bucks." That's not fair because 2 weeks before I sold another item with no issues, so shouldn't they have done a proper investigation before making this decision? eBay is a terrible company with terrible resolutions and they need to be stopped.
