I called billing because of charge of unfair billing fees. Spoke with a Sarah that said she could lower my fees to 50 dollars. The next morning realized that was a lie and she lowered them but significantly less than we spoke about. This is not the first time I have had issues but gave eBay the benefit of the doubt. No more. The government regulation agencies really need to look into their business practices. Crooks!!

My response with eBay was easy. I bid or used the buy it now feature and was able to purchase the products I wanted and received them without any problems. Specific things that I like about eBay are that I can get things I want at a cheaper price all of the time. It it simple to use the buy it now feature and not hassle with the bidding process. One of the only things that I dislike about eBay is sometimes the sellers aren't completely clear with their descriptions of their products that they are trying to sell making it a hassle to have to keep going back to ask questions.

Overall shopping experience is always easy. There is a lot to choose from. Easy to checkout and buyer oriented. Easy to contact if there are any issues but usually there are none. I found what I needed and it was very easy to complete transaction. I feel safe being a buyer because there is so much protection in place. I usually find what I need. It's become more of a store than an auction site. So much so, there are so many sellers selling the exact same thing for the same price. The same sellers are doing multiple listings of the year exact same product at the exact same price. It's very expensive to sell in eBay these days. Not like it used to be.

The shipping is a pain to deal with the last time I ordered something off eBay, it took a while to get here. But I like the fact that sometimes you can buy some stuff for really cheap when no one else bids on. I also like being able to communicate with the seller selling the item. I like shopping on eBay most of the time. However, I have had a couple of bad experiences though with some sellers. They have not shipped out my products in a timely manner, another time a seller said they would send me two of something so I paid the price for two and only got one. Sometimes people can make the product looking more appealing than it really is. Overall experience with eBay was okay, not great.

They also have good prices and lots of selection like worldwide products. It brings people together. But their customer service is horrible and their gift cards are messed up. They need to fix that problem. I lost 50 bucks on a return because it wouldn't go back on my gift card.

It was a positive experience because the item was reasonably priced, there was no shipping cost, the service was fast and friendly. I noticed that there are many sellers and some charge way less than others for the same product. I like the many categories and items available along with the chance to purchase memorabilia you cannot get anywhere else. I also like that eBay also has a money back guarantee program that benefits the buyer. Sometimes though there is a postage fee charged by the sellers and this postage fee can be a bit more than I want to pay for it. Also, sometimes I notice that the ratings given a seller may be questionable as far as how the seller received such a high positive rating.

I have had both good and very bad experiences dealing with eBay. I can order small items, often with no shipping costs and most of the time the items arrive quickly, too. There are also many vendors who permit you to order just one or two items. But I mainly use eBay for small orders that I cannot get on Amazon.com because I have such little trust in the process. There are dishonest vendors on eBay who can and do rip you off. So I only order items that are under ten dollars because I am willing to lose that amount, but no more.

What I specifically like is the ability to find items that were manufactured years decades ago and before eBay were impossible to find. Also, I can sometimes get great deals on them. What I dislike is there are people who intentionally try to mislead what their items really are. When I first started eBay, I got ripped off on several purchases.

You can find basically anything you could possibly want. Even though you end up spending probably more than you would want to most of the time because of the bidding... The bidding can be quite fun, but nowadays, the bidding feature isn't practical because there are other sites like Amazon.com where there are no bidding and you just buy whatever you want. I also feel like their shipping is more expensive than other similar sites. Overall using eBay is complicated mostly. You never know who you're dealing with or what the product will show up looking like. I received broken or damaged items and getting refunded is such a hassle.

I like that I can find anything I can imagine at eBay. I really like getting a good bargain. I also sell on eBay. It's like a giant garage sale and is so much fun to buy and sell. Selling your no longer wanted or needed items is a great way to make some extra cash. However, I dislike that the fees always seem to be going up. I really dislike that it is so difficult to leave negative feedback any more and that there are always some buyers and sellers that are scam artists and manage to get away with taking the money and not sending the item. Just as bad are the buyers that buy the item but never do send the payment. Luckily eBay will reverse final value fees and refund money when these things happen, but it all takes time and is frustrating. However, signing up is easy. The purchase process is either by winning an auction or using Buy It Now to purchase without waiting for the auction to end. Your purchase is protected by PayPal.

eBay is easy to find a variety of items on, including gently used items. I can easily tell which items are being sold by a company versus an individual person. Also I like the feature where I can bid or quickly buy an item I don't want to wait on. Purchasing and checkout process is easy enough to navigate and I have had little to no need to contact customer service regarding any problems or concerns. The product selection is good but not as good as other sites. Amazon has a more user friendly process as well as a bigger variety of items to choose from. I use Amazon more often than I use eBay. New items tend to go quickly so if I need a night to think it over, the item is usually gone. I dislike impulse shopping so that is a downside but I can usually find a similar item if I decide it is an item I want to buy.

You can spend minutes to hours just browsing the searches and looking for bids on whatever product you want. The customer service representatives really care about a customer's orders and they respond quite fast. It's a much better, lower cost online retailer compared to places as Amazon where the prices are very high and the items aren't exactly as well kept or quality assured. Shipping on eBay is better as well and the item assurance is what can keep bringing you back.

The reason for my review is because eBay allows sellers from all over the world with no accountability whatsoever. I haven't counted fraudulent vendors unreliable vendors and counterfeit vendors and it's getting out of control and I get no support from eBay whatsoever. I stopped selling on eBay because of their high fees which leaves almost no profit for the seller. It almost seems as if we're working for eBay instead of ourselves. Now I face another issue where I purchase things with estimated arrival dates that are not real. For instance I will order a sport jersey estimated to arrive on April 14th when I receive it around April 25th that is almost a two-week difference. EBay sucks and I'm going to Amazon. Yeah Amazon. They have more respect for their customers. I'm only one until everybody else starts thinking the way I'm thinking and then I will be power. I hope eBay founders like the Titanic.

The best things to like about eBay include the selection being very wide, the prices are low, and there are many sellers to choose from and many offbeat items to consider. The things I dislike include not being able to handle and see the physical product and needing to rely on sellers who are often dishonest about product condition and attributes.

If you are looking for a certain collectible it's easier than looking through garage sales or thrift stores or antique shops. But sometimes it's difficult to find things because there's just too many products to choose from. It's also difficult to keep up with everything everyday. You never know when that perfect item is going to show up so you kind of have to check eBay constantly. And they have too high shipping and handling fees.

The seller then replied to me and told me that since I had given him a bad review, he was not responsible and that was eBay policy. I really wasn't as concern about the refund as I was about his comment about that if you give a seller a bad review, eBay policy guarantee is no longer any good. Somehow when I filed the claim, it was filed as I had not received the product. I tried to change the claim to that I had a problem and I had receive the product, but eBay system would not allow it.

As a long time seller on eBay with a 100% positive feedback rating, I have recently become more and more dissatisfied with their listing policies as they continue to evolve. I recently had a listing removed for violating policy. The item was a lot of antique toy key chain cap guns about 1.5 inches in length that were compliantly listed to eBay's policy by having a orange cap affixed to the end of the barrel. What the policy doesn't tell you is that the orange cap has to be affixed by the manufacturer albeit something that the manufacturer's did not and were not required to do 40 years ago.

The customer service representative I spoke with could not tell me why the listing had been canceled 7 days into the auction? Very disappointing eBay!!! So my punishment is a 3-day suspension by eBay for listing items. They can take my suspension and extend it indefinitely as I'm done with them. I purchased an item from a Power Seller on Ebay called fivestar007. This seller posted a nice picture of a reserve tank for 1998 M3 BMW. So I purchased it based on the picture. When the item arrived, it did not look anything like the picture. It was a complete bait and switch. So I sent the seller a message requesting a return because the item was falsely advertised. The seller refused, and in fact was really rude. Claiming that I had faked the pictures that I had taken of the product. This was probably one of the worst Ebay experiences I have ever had. So I opened a case against the seller. The seller continued to be rude through the whole process. Finally Ebay stepped in and gave me my money back. So I left a bad review for this obviously poor seller. Then Ebay never posted my negative review. I waited and waited, then I realized that it was never going to post my negative review.

I realized that day that Ebay protects its "Power Sellers". If you are a power seller on Ebay, you can do whatever you want, Bait and Switch, Insult your customers, whatever, and Ebay will just turn a blind eye. It bothers me that Ebay is boosting their "Positive sales reviews", by never allowing negative reviews to get through. Amazon and other online stores allow you to leave detailed explanations of what happened, but not Ebay. You get 80 characters to complain. And now they don't even post those if they are negative. So in reality you cannot trust any of the review ratings posted by Ebay. They are false, doctored, and misleading to always be "Positive". Ebay's business model is to support their "Power" sellers at all costs. Which is a bad model. As everyone knows, give a man a little power and it will go straight to corruption.

Well apparently there is a drop-down arrow somewhere for you to pick which combos there are to choose from and the site automatically already had one picked. I only got mats so it wasn't even a combo of anything.

I've tried talking to the seller (lyfe_essentialz) several times about this and they won't do anything, so I decided to finally talk to eBay about this since there is a "Worry-Free Shopping Guarantee." Well apparently that is a bunch of BS because they said they couldn't and wouldn't do anything, and wouldn't give me a refund or a credit or anything, and then on top of that took my feedback away from the seller (I didn't cuss or anything) which isn't something you're suppose to do because that is suppose to be our feedback of our opinion for a reason because other buyers want to see that.

So, on top of all this I couldn't even buy the matching seat covers or anything matching for it because they are out of stock of those items and refuse to say anything about whether or not they will even get those items back in stock. They were completely unhelpful and neither one gave a crap. The money-back guarantee is a big, fat lie. We opened up a request for refund to the buyer right away with pictures of the item received, the buyer agreed for full refund at beginning, but they sent us another message next day that says they could only do partial refund without any reason. At the same time, I saw an instruction message from eBay team for the refund case opened that says: "The seller is responsible for return shipping charges. Contact the seller for a return shipping label. If they can't provide one, you can purchase a label, and we'll ask the seller to reimburse you." And eBay also informed us that the seller "cannot buy a shipping label" for the return.

On the last day before the case is closed, we followed the eBay instruction and paid the international shipping costs ($28) for the return to the seller. Things happened surprisingly that, eBay denied their instruction for this return case, in the case the instruction message with the Seller's shipping address info provided by eBay is no longer available on my message board after the case is closed. The good thing is we did a copy and paste of this instruction into one of our messages to the seller which can be a record actually.

However, eBay just denies that they had provided this instruction, and they say they cannot contact the seller for the return shipping cost responsibility - in the case the seller told them they could not follow eBay's return policy. eBay representative keeps denying existence of the instructional message in the case I copied it into one of my messages sent to seller that is still in the records, and by doing so eBay could deny their responsibility for their wrong instruction.

At this point sales are down for 2 reasons. They are eliminating my listings and will not allow me to relist. Final curtain, they will eliminate me altogether. Without taking in account that late shipments could have other reasons the seller has such as illness or other personal problems. The new 2nd problem is that big china companies are undercutting U.S.A. Sellers using different names from the original companies & ebay allows this not giving a damn for American sellers. As a senior I depended the money I earned from sales. Ebay made money on my sales. Errors in their system has cost me thousands in money over the years. In the 15 years I was with ebay, I was honest and tolerated many injustices. My experience is the same as many other honest ebay sellers. When I signed on, the two rules were be honest with your products and satisfy buyers. I followed these rules and ebay kept changing their policies on a continuous basis.

I have two incidents and complaints. 1 was when I sold unopened iPad Pro for just under $400 more than $400 with shipping. The the buyer received the package and either during shipping by USPS or from the front door to his living room one of the corners was slightly rounded and on the clear plastic around the package there's a small one and a half inch slit on cellophane wrapping. The buyer claimed that it was damaged and he had doubts the authenticity of the clear plastic wrapping. And claimed that it was a counterfeit item. All of this was done while never actually opening the box.

Of course I basically said "well why don't you open the box and see exactly what it is." He claimed the corner was rounded by about a third of an inch. The iPad Pro was probably still in perfectly working order. I'll never know because eBay sided in his favor and he shipped it to address that I no longer lived at. That the U.S.P.S. refused to deliver to empty house and under tracking it marked it UNDELIVERED. eBay gave him his money back. All while the package was being sent back to him.

Please understand this was not the address that was on the package when I sent it to him. eBay gave him my old address. Please understand when you change your address with eBay there are six different categories. I changed only my current address and return address. The other 4 things are if you're a company and you had a different return address or a Trans. Shipper or if you were a business with a different return addresses. And even though it showed that this package was delivered back to the buyer did I mention they'd already given him back his money and he chose never send item back and has never answered any email that I sent him afterwards. Course I called the resolution center with being date already giving the money back. There was nothing they could do or would do.

Then there's my second that experience eBay when I sold a Epson projector sold for just under $300, more than 300 with shipping. It was delivered to a freight company in Miami. It was accepted by agent on Thursday. He opens it on Monday. Finds not what I sent him but some protein packs and some two and a half inch diskettes that don't work in computers anymore. He sends me e-mail with pictures. I send back him pictures and a video of me packing the Epson LCD projector before I shipped it.

I do a Google search and find out that this address over the past three to four months has 12 claims on Yelp of breaking into people's accounts, ordering fake goods and other shady business practices. I send this to the buyer and to eBay through the eBay email service and he puts in a claim for being delivered the wrong item that I didn't send him. 3 days later eBay decides in his favor and says they would send him a shipping label to return eight pounds of garbage back to me that I didn't send him and I don't want.So I sent them an email saying I'm okay with their decision because I don't believe he was the one who switched out the item but at the same time I don't want to pay for eight pounds of garbage be sent back to my home.

I refunded him the money because they decided in his favor. eBay then says "well being you refunded him back the money we can't do anything now to help you, because yes you acted based on our decision but you should have allowed him to send back the garbage and then told us that it wasn't what you sent him and because you refunded him his money we're not going to help you any further." Of course I called the resolution center that never seems to resolve anything. It was basically told "Yeah you acted on our decision but you shouldn't have and now we can help you or won't help you."

I sold a brand new hoodie, buyer said it was used, opened case, eBay sided with her, let her keep the hoodie and forced me to refund her. Now I'm out $50 and she gets a free hoodie. Most recently, a buyer bought a video game for $12 which I shipped free. He said it didn't work, opened a case, eBay charged me the return shipping. He returned an empty package, stuffed it with papers to make it look full. EBay said because the tracking said "Delivered" I was forced to refund him the full $12. I ended up losing about $20 with original shipping and return shipping, plus I don't even have the game to show for it! No help from Customer Service whatsoever.

I have two seller accounts on ebay. On one I used Stamps.com to create shipping labels. On another occasion I use PayPal shipping, pack them up, take boxes to the post office to scan the items in and then have them shipped. On several occasions these tracking labels didn't show up in "my ebay" and ebay docked me for these labels not being transferred from Stamps.com or PayPal into "my eBay". That is a penalty and "defect" (like I'm in grade school!). Just got another one today even though the post office scanned the items in a week ago. One item already delivered, showed no uploaded by carrier. One defect!

I uploaded the tracking and make sure all are in "my ebay". Even though this one particular item was scanned in and showed up in "my ebay", in the top rated seller this item did not show as being scanned by carrier. eBay tells me it's system generated, there's nothing they can do, I should try a different carrier (for a $27 item use UPS or FedEx????) and I've used USPS since 1999. This person in the review or appeals dept was of no help and they have general answers. Then I just now checked my seller dashboard, and before my call I was at 83% (you have to be 90% for Power Seller which they took away for six non-uploaded into "my eBay" items due to no transfer of this information from Stamps.com nor PayPal). Now I'm at 81%. They took 2% from me. Is this legal? I think eBay is running an operation with marginal legal steps. No help from them. Sellers be careful when running eBay stores. No matter how perfect you try to be, it's impossible.

I called eBay to get my money back, went through the automated response system, then kept on hold for 5 minutes to get to speak to a service agent, they collect my details then I am kept on hold again for 15 minutes awaiting to speak to a supervisor to handle the refund request then the line hangs up. I redial again same process.

So I decide to open a resolution case after six days. eBay respond saying I have to wait for the end of the delivery period. I go to my PayPal account and open a resolution case. eBay closes my case on grounds that I opened a similar one with PayPal. eBay make it impossible to contact them to air your complaint thus condoning fraudulent behavior and with that they complaisant with fraudsters.

He paid and I mail the camera in the same day. I wasn't aware that I was not able to track the item after leaving USA when mailing to South Korea. I have mailed items to Brasil, France and Japan without tracking issues. Sure enough the buyer opened a case against me stating that he did not received the camera. PayPal put my funds on hold until the case was resolved. I did contact eBay different times and customer service was awful. They did not stand by me for a second. They told me that I had to find out if the camera was delivered. Well... after many attempts and searches online I was able to get a hold of the Korean post office via email.

The email stated that the item was delivered and the security guard for that building received the camera and he was authorized by the buyer. So, I contacted eBay back with that info. I asked them if I had any way to forward the email to them. Customer service said that they could not help me. They needed online information that the item was received. Isn't a email from the Korean post office, stating that the camera was delivered, online information? What am I missing here? I contacted the buyer, begging him or her to be honest. Oh silly me! This person is not only using my camera but also kept his money and eBay did not give a crap about me. So wrong! If anyone have any idea for me to get this resolved I will really appreciate. I'm just so sick to my stomach. I'm so furious with eBay. Ebay is my second source of income, but since this happened, I refuse to list anything with them.

Most sellers are not authorized resellers, therefore the manufacturer will not honor any defective items even if they were brand new and being sold off eBay. Call Manufacturer to verify if sellers product includes warranty. Ebay cannot insist that Sellers honor their promise of refunding the money once the resolution time frame has ended. China Sellers knew the limited times for buyers protection and play the stalling game, to temporary pretend to want to resolve an issue, until buyers lost their voice and their rights as resolution time had lapse. We sell on eBay for several years and have 100% positive feedback. In order to make our items accessible to buyers from countries with lower income we give them the option to make a purchase without insurance. This option is clearly displayed in the listing description and our Shipping Policy. It states that By paying for the order the Buyer confirms his decision to make a purchase without insurance and agrees to give up his right to demand the payment and shipping costs in case the shipment is lost or damaged.

We have recently shipped an item to another country, had a tracking code and can prove the item was shipped. The buyer informed us he didn't receive the item. In the correspondence we reminded twice about his decision to pay less for the shipping and don't pay for insurance. Nevertheless the buyer opened the case and eBay charged us for the undelivered shipment. We strongly believe that it is not fair and should not take place. eBay use their monopolistic position to dictate unfair rules and not protect sellers.

The customer first demanded a refund because they said they had not received the item despite FedEx tracking proving otherwise. Then the customer opened a case for a return stating the item received wasn't what was listed. EBay sided with the customer, sent me 4 separate emails about the case and stated the case was on hold (which it turns out wasn't the most recent case notification or even relevant to me, they were waiting for me to send the buyer more money).

Then eBay forced the reimbursement, plus cost of shipping, so the item I was originally selling for $20 has now cost me $20 and I have not received the item back (and this does not include listing fees and monthly recurring charges). Now I have spent $20 to send some random person a gift, and I am quite sure I will never see the item again. I contacted eBay about the issue and they stated that it was an issue outside of eBay and are now refusing to close my account because I have a PENNY ($.01) credit. Don't trust the Ebay guarantee - weaseling out of undelivered items. I purchased an electronic item from a vendor in China. Cost was $15 + $5 shipping. After three weeks tracking showed the item was delivered but never reached me. I proceeded to file a claim and was told to wait another three weeks to see if it turned up. I did this and still didn't get it so I contacted the vendor. Vendor wanted to replace it and refused a refund request, though they admitted it probably was lost in the mail. So I filed a claim under the eBay Buyers Protection. eBay said they denied the warranty because the vendor had tracking however their customer service said that Chinese tracking information isn't reliable.

I also had a problem with occasional misdelivery of packages by my post office. I appealed ebay's decision discussing the misdelivery problem as well as the seller's admission it was lost and they did a "one time" refund. This guarantee is not reliable and I recommend if you are purchasing things from ebay to always use a credit card with buyer's protection.

Before I went on a 3 week vacation, I placed my eBay store on vacation mode, which displays a message under every listing telling buyers the seller is away until a certain date so they can decide if they want to still purchase that item and wait for me to return and then ship it to them or to move on and purchase from someone else. During my vacation I checked my eBay activity and saw that people were still buying items from me so when I got the chance I would contact every single buyer making sure they understand the wait and asking to confirm or for a refund. Every single buyer either agreed to wait or said they did not see the message but are ok waiting.

When I came back, I shipped every item the same day. But on my next evaluation period, I realized I lost the top rated seller status along with a 20% discount for being a top rated seller because my percentage of 1 day handling which is required to be a top rated seller sky rocketed of course because it took between 1-20 days to ship them depending when they purchased it. I was confused but realized there was nothing I could do. The game was played, I lost. Even though it was unfair. I never knew about such practice. I feel that was cheating. I did not cheat anybody because I let them know and never received a negative or neutral feedback from any of those buyers.

What the problem is about all that is when I lost the 20% discount, even after 6 months I am still not able to meet their goals so I ended up paying eBay about $200 more in seller fees. For example if my total eBay fees for I month are $400 with a 20% discount it would have been $80 less or $320 total but every month I end up paying more for that. They simply cheated me. I don't know any ONE seller who has eBay store and top rated status that would put store on vacation mode. So why did they do that. It is very sad. I wish someone would do a class action lawsuit for this. I would love to join. Thank you.

I have been shopping on eBay for 10 years now. Most of my experiences have been good. However I have bought some counterfeit products as well as some falsely described products. But I wasn't mad. I knew that came with the game. Recently I have been made aware that eBay is definitely tailored to the seller. As a buyer you always run the risk of getting screwed over. Just recently I placed an order with several sellers at once. However the address I used for my order is somewhere I no longer reside. Recognizing my mistake a minute later, I tried to cancel my order. Most sites you cancel your order and they do it. Because it normally takes a site a couple of days to process and ship items. Unfortunately eBay makes you go through the seller to cancel a transaction. Which is BS because each of the 5 sellers all failed to contact me about the cancellation.

Then I sent them all an email asking to send the items to my current address. But eBay's policy doesn't allow that. So all of my items got sent to the wrong address and all eBay customer service said was send the stuff back when it reached me. How can I send it back when I never received it? I instantly left bad reviews for each seller, because they all chose not to communicate with me. They refused to cancel my transaction. And it's funny because I probably would have bought the items again from the sellers. So after not receiving over $100 worth of items, I attempted to open up cases against each of the sellers. All of these cases except one went in favor of the sellers. eBay's rationale was that the sellers sent a tracking and number and it showed delivered via the tracking numbers.

But the issue is I never wanted the orders placed in the first place. I literally tried to cancel immediately. Not only did they not decide in my favor, they also removed my feedback score. How can you remove my feedback score? That was the last straw. It's convenient that each of the sellers were top-rated sellers. That title is deceiving because if you look at the sellers that get bestowed that honor, they all have hundreds if not thousands of negative and neutral feedback. I also had an issue buying an item from the Toys R Us eBay Store. I chose to pick the item up in store opposed to getting it sent home. Surprising Toys R Us had technical malfunction that sent my item to the wrong store. After hours going back with the seller and eBay customer service there was no solution in sight. eBay refused to cancel the transaction because Toys R Us said the item was ready for pickup.

After explaining to them that the item was nowhere near me, eBay refused to cancel and told me to work it out with the seller. That makes no sense. It's not like the item shipped. I could understand that. But this item was just sitting at the wrong store. How hard would it be to just simply cancel the transaction. But apparently eBay is designed to protect the seller not buyer. At one point they even told me to go through PayPal to get my refund. Which PayPal said I had to go through eBay. Ultimately, I had to drive over an hour away to pick the item up at the wrong location.

Also if you do sell anything on eBay, you will be cheated. They charge 10 percent for every item you sell on top of listing fees. And my account has been compromised at least twice. At this point I wanted to cancel my account altogether, but they wouldn't even let me. They said some nonsense about me having to wait 30 days. I'm contacting corporate early Monday morning. And don't ever daily customer service, it's outsourced to India. And the customer service people on the site are incompetent.

If you're unsuccessful, report the buyer to us. We take these reports seriously, and will carry out a thorough investigation before taking any appropriate action. To protect the privacy of our members, we're unable to inform you of any actions we may take against another member. You shouldn't report the buyer if you receive the item back with the same damage that they reported. We recommend you purchase shipping insurance to provide coverage for items lost or damaged in transit."

On 12/13/2016 I sold an alabaster vase for $500.00. The buyer requested to return the vase. The vase was intact, but he complained that the packaging smelled of smoke. He refused to accept my offer to pay for any necessary cleaning of the vase. The vase was returned to me via United Parcel Service and arrived completely destroyed and irreparable. He had insured the vase for $1,000.00 but he refused to file an insurance claim. When I requested that he do so he replied, "You are dishonest". My reply to him was "Please stop the insults". eBay reps repeatedly told me that I should request UPS to pay the insurance to me. eBay should know that UPS will pay insurance only to the shipper. The eBay buyer refused to open an insurance claim so I opened the claim.

The insurance was claim was denied. I contacted United Parcel Service Corporate Office regarding the denial of the insurance claim. I was told, "The insurance claim was denied because the shipper (the buyer) did not use proper packaging. Therefore, he is responsible for the damage." I received it broken into two irreparable sections. He returned it via UPS, using the Priority Mail box in which he originally received it from USPS. UPS saw clearly in the photos I sent that the box had been previously subjected to a long shipping route. It is illegal to use USPS boxes for UPS shipments "misuse of government property".

EBay issued the buyer a refund of $520.00 from my PayPal account, putting my account into a serious negative balance. I did not initiate that refund and I wasn't even aware that it had been issued until I saw my PayPal balance! In addition to that refund, eBay charged me a final value fee for the sale of the vase! I told PayPal that if they want to resolve that negative balance, they should discuss it with eBay. I have closed my Bank account and ended my 89 auctions. I will no longer be a buyer or a seller on eBay. I will not support their unfair business practices. This is not my first such experience with eBay - they have ripped me off many times in the past.

A few weeks later the buyer said the speaker piece next to the listening part on the phone was broke. Clearly in the picture taken just seconds before posting it was perfect. My son even inspected the phone prior to sending. He then stated that the battery was dented.

The photos show that the battery is in perfect shape. He stated the battery ran out of juice quickly and was dented. It typically lasted 16-20 hours like any used battery on a phone. NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. He stated that the viator didn't work. Later to explain the vibrator. Likely a programming issue as it worked fine prior to selling. EBay granted his return request in less than 3 minutes without any input from me. Nowhere in the world does a retailer not evaluate the issues before giving up money for free. Obviously they are using robots for responding. This is ridiculous. Ebay use to be fair and balanced and protect the seller from less than trusting buyers. Likely as this buyer had money issues before they have them again and look at this as a way to get a few of their bucks back. Not right!

One final note, the great and powerful eBay grants a return, on my behalf, without my authorization, and when I get a non-sellable product back in damaged product beyond recovery the great and powerful eBay tells me that it is not their problem, unfortunately, the return process is not eBay's responsibility. I would beg to differ once they intercede in the buyer-seller relationship they take ownership of the consequences. There must be warranty and insurance in place to cover errors made by eBay employees.

The first decision in my case was made on a Saturday morning at 4 a.m. It quickly backed up on Monday by another decision made without consultation with the buyer, my feeling is that eBay was 100% wrong. They failed to understand the claim and treated a $650 claim as though it was $10. As I sent a photo of my beautiful sugar white mink and the returned product in an ivory shade the likely cause was it was worn by the buyer got wet and was then incorrectly stored to dry.

I have spent hours on the phone discussing this matter in an adult manner, and although each rep has told me they understand how I feel, nobody has helped. I am going to continue today to reach to eBay to voice my concerns - this practice of the great and powerful eBay does not seem legal and the two class actions I have viewed seem to support my view. Giving instructions to PayPal to refund is an inexcusable betrayal of the trading platform. eBay legal department state they can do anything they want as it is in the contract, it would seem this legal situation has been disputed in court in two recent class actions and has been found incorrect.

In 2008 eBay angered sellers have by the move blocking negative comment. Their objection is leave them unprotected and open to manipulation from problem buyers. On the face of it, the change shifts the balance of power towards buyers - who can still provide adverse comments about the service they receive. The buyers will use this power the threat of negative comment to try and extract unfair advantage on this trading platform. If you feel you have been on the end of unfair decisions as a seller please join me in a Class Action.

I have been on eBay for almost 20 years and have kept a pretty good honest record as well as helping them keep the criminals off along the way. Recently this happened and so far greed has seem to be the results... I recently found out my 20% discount on my bill was removed! After calling them and being passed on to 3 different time consuming people I was told that the reason was that I was OUT OF STOCK on 4 different transactions. I said I was never out of stock my entire time on eBay which has been about 20 years! What we found out was I gave a partial refund to these 4 people and they kept the items and were all satisfied and we moved on. Since I did not go and find a page to let them know I gave a partial refund they marked it as I never shipped the item! I told them the customer would of filed a complaint had I never shipped anything but that does not matter. I had to go and file with eBay that I gave a partial refund!

Since it was over 90 days ago, I just found this problem out yesterday, that they could not do anything about it! I explained that this out of stock never existed. It was all lies! Does not matter, they cannot do anything about it was the only answer they kept repeating. So I lose 20% a month based on these lies that they state they cannot fix! That's over $100 a month! They also have no idea how long it will take me to get my status back. This is how fair they can be to people that supported them for so long making them so rich while we lose more and more money because of these rules they cannot fix. I find this very hard to believe.

I canceled many of the higher cost items last night to try and get my costs down for now. I cannot afford to absorb such a loss over this apparent greed. Not happy with the customer service and how they sneakily did this. I asked for a boss and they said their boss was busy and would call me back. That's been over 24 hours ago!

To start the long drawn out process of getting a refund. I've been told numerous lies from eBay staff from here's the number to give to PayPal for an instant refund. When no such thing happens. To the seller has not claimed the money so phone PayPal for an instant refund. What a shambles run by idiot liars and dishonest sellers. They should be all chopped up and disposed of.

SquareTrade offered an extended warranty on a Crosley console cd and radio I purchased on eBay. What SquareTrade did not mention was the extended warranty was completely contingent on the manufacturer's limited warranty. A week or so after the purchase the manufacturer wouldn't honor their warranty. Because the item was purchased on eBay. Thus the extended warranty was invalid. SquareTrade refuses to refund money and eBay will not step in and help.

After returning the item last month, never received my money back (and eBay closed the resolution case 3 days before deadline and before they paid back). I did nothing wrong, kept in contact with that cheating seller, asking about my return. Because the case is closed and the item wasn't paid through PayPal, there is nothing eBay will do to help. I've sold several items that abide by their seller protection policy and have done 100% right as the seller. Seems like every time I sell anything the buyers are getting one over on me. eBay DOES NOT CARE about their sellers any more. I sold and shipped quite a few items in perfect condition they receive it and after having it for a few weeks they open a case claiming not as described.

I got the item back today which was a new model smartphone and open the return package and the buyer sent an empty shell of a phone with screws loose in it. eBay will not protect the seller on any case no matter the situation. They side with buyers 100%. Don't sell phones or gift cards. Buyers buy use funds claim they didn't buy. eBay instantly refunds buyer and you're out the balance of the card as well as what the buyer paid. BS BUSINESS!!!

I wanted to do the right thing by returning the item, so by getting no help from either the seller or eBay I paid a person to ship it back to the seller a $10.03 item. My cost to do this was $42.63. This would be my first transaction on eBay. I've always tried to avoid using eBay and similar sites because in my personal experience people will try and pull one over on you. It's hard enough to hold the direct retailer accountable if a good is damaged or not what was stated, so I never liked the idea of the added risk for purchasing second hand item through a middle man. Well I recently became interested in a tabletop RPG that is no longer available from the manufacturer and after reading eBay's money back guarantee and exhausting other search option, I let my excitement for the item get the better of judgement.

The core game was going for upwards of 50-100% of the retail value, so I decided to go ahead and bid on the core game plus all of the expansions. I won the bid at $1485.60 on 12/11/16. The seller contacted me and told me that there were just so many items (including fragile miniatures) and he needed to break it up into three shipments. I agreed to it. He sent the heaviest box first with all of the paper goods and it arrived in good order. When it arrives, I sit down to inventory because of the quantity of the cards and pieces, but there is no inventory sheet included. I reach out to the seller for an inventory sheet, he says I should look online.

The final box to arrive had all of the miniatures that he had already assembled. It arrived in a used amazon box and the 20+ miniatures were all stuffed into the box, none were individually wrapped for protection and he used grocery bags and paper towels for packing stuffed in wherever he could do it. There were pieces that were outright broken, many seemed as if they had been broken at glue joints just so they would all fit in the box, and some had ink or paint on them. I immediately filed a return for damaged merchandise and the seller accepted on 12/22/16. The seller was given until 12/28/16 to give me shipping labels to return his merchandise.

The seller tried multiple times to get me to go outside of eBay policy; asked me for my personal email for the shipping labels (at the time I was unaware of eBay policy and that the shipping labels could be delivered through them, but I asked them once it looked like he was trying to start having our conversation through my personal email instead of through the eBay message system). Tried to get me to pay for the shipping twice (eBay policy states that damaged items should be returned at the expense of the seller).

Had me get quotes for shipping the boxes and then only sent me a shipping label for the big box with the core unit and not the other two boxes including the one with damaged goods (claimed he was overseas and his card wouldn't go through for USPS, even though he had asked me to get all three quotes at FedEx). Tried to tell me that I should ship the first box and he would worry about the other two after 1/2/17 (I didn't feel right about that, especially with the deadline that eBay had set for the 28th of Dec, and eBay verified that that was not how it was supposed to be done).

Tried to tell me that he had talked to eBay and they said that it would be ok to just send one box now and worry about the rest later. (This conflicted directly with what eBay had told me and advised to only mail the boxes when I had all three shipping labels. They also note every time someone calls on a high value claim and what the call entailed, but there was no record of them telling him that this was ok.) Tried to get me to give him my PayPal info. (I didn't use PayPal to purchase the item. I used my bank card directly through eBay, and eBay once again stated that I should not give him this info.)

I reported all of this to the eBay High Claims Department. Every step of the way they supported my claim and told me that I would receive my money if not from the seller, then through their money back guarantee in the timeline stated by their policy. This is where it all starts to unravel. Miraculously the seller is able to get me all three shipping labels the evening of the deadline. I get them out within the hour of receiving the labels. The boxes arrive back to the seller on 1/3/17. I receive no update from eBay stating that he has confirmed delivery. I message the seller on the status. He says they have arrived with minimal damage and that he would inventory the next day.

I once again call eBay to give them the tracking numbers for the returned boxes and to make sure they note that the items have all been returned and to also ask about his inventory comment, because I had requested an inventory sheet from him when the box first arrived and was not given one. They say they have it noted in our messages and that I do not need to worry.

EBay tells me that the seller has until 1/11/17 to refund my money. If I have not received my refund by that point, they will step in and render judgement in my favor and I will receive my money through their money back guarantee on 1/12/17. I receive an email from eBay on 1/7/17 stating that an e-check has been initiated through Paypal for my refund and that it should clear on 1/11/17. The morning of 1/11/17 I check my bank account and it has not been deposited nor are there any deposits pending. I did however have an email from PayPal saying that the sellers bank had denied the funds and that they would try to get the funds again in 3 business days (1/17/17). I immediately call eBay to update them with this information from PayPal.

EBay now starts to play a different tune. Where they first told me that if the funds hadn't cleared by 1/11/17 that they would have my funds to me by 1/12/17 has now been changed. They verify that I was told this but apologize profusely because the e-check status is pending and they will wait until 1/12/17 to see if the funds clear. If they have not by 1/12/17, then on 1/13/17 they will render judgement in my favor and have my money refunded to my account through their money back guarantee in 24-48 hours (or by 1/18/17 because of the MLK holiday).

The money is not deposited on 1/12/17, so on 1/13/17, I call to verify that we are all good. eBay claims that yes, they will file the judgement and I will have my refund by 1/18/17. I wake up this morning, I check my bank account, my refund has not been deposited and there are no transactions pending. I call eBay High Value Claims department to find out what is going on. Once again, their tune changes a little bit further.

They claim they submitted the judgement to give me my refund, but it was denied because the e-check still says pending. I ask why that concerns me anymore, because the seller had his time frame to have that money back to me (this was the time frame laid down by eBay and their policies). He missed it. He even missed the extra day that eBay gave him to clear it. I was told that at that point his financial obligations to me were null and void because I was now under the eBay money back guarantee and that eBay would give me my refund and they would settle up with the seller.

They once again take accountability for telling me one thing, but then apologize profusely because they are now going to wait until 1/25/17 to see if the e-check clears. And now, where in the past they told me that I dont even need to call in anymore because they are going to take care of me. Now they say that I should go ahead and let them know when I get an email from PayPal stating that the sellers bank has denied the funds for a second time.

So as of this moment, I'm still without my refund. The seller has already resold the item (which I reported because he didnt bother to mention in the item description that it was damaged, but instead tried to brush the "possibility" of damage on future package carrier, and I didnt feel that he should be allowed to dupe another buyer), and eBay had gotten their commission twice.

So to break this down here, only one party involved out of the three (myself the buyer, the seller, and eBay) has actually done what they said they would within the eBay policy that they laid down. I won the bid. I paid what was owed. I worked with the seller when he stated that he needed to send three shipments. I waited to close the case until I received all of the boxes, and when the final came in damaged, I reached out to the seller. He said he would accept the return, so I filed it through eBay the way their policy states. I followed everything eBay advised me to do through their policies.

The seller tried to go outside of eBay policy multiple times and they eBay knows it. EBay set deadlines and broke them. So out of the three parties involved, the only one that has continuously obeyed the rules and regulations set down by eBay has been me and I am the only one who has not received any of what was promised. Or to put it another way: Seller = +$1485.60 - cost of shipping x3 + $1400.00 (sale to second buyer). EBay = Commission on sale of a $1400+ item x2. Me (original buyer) = -$1485.60 - item, but at least I have a handful of empty promises and the eBay money back "guarantee". I have strings of emails that include the conversation between myself and the seller, and myself and eBay if verification is required.

This is the worst security practice ever.

They went so far as to tell me I am banned off eBay forever and to have a good life. What a sorry excuse for a company. So it is possible to shut down anyone's account if you know just a little info about them, which all of this info eBay happens to provide anyone who buys something from you. I was a very enthusiastic buyer for 10 years Nov 2006-Jan 2016. I called myself an eBay junkie constantly looking for items on eBay. Car parts, DVDs, items from China, a big variety of merchandise, even antique, saws, chain saws and fossil sharks teeth. But over time eBay kept giving me problems. I found out 90% of silver dollars from China are counterfeit fakes. I noticed they are always the same years. So I refused to pay for a few I won and tried to have the sellers cancel the transaction and eBay gave me "didn't pay for items" marks against my account. Then they started this harassing "items out - bid" pop-ups list that appeared over and over constantly covering the items I was trying to look at on my eBay.

But the last straw was when they protected a top rated seller with 100,000 transactions and 200 negative and neutral feedbacks from having to refund me 7.00 for a broken Batman vs Superman 2-disc DVD set because I sent it back 1 day after the seller's time frame. They removed my feedback to him seconds after I left it. As my only recourse against the seller that's when I got fuming mad and decided to leave if that's the way they treat me. I've had enough. And then the constant harassing messages about the same computer mouse to my email about 20 times probably from the same customer service agent. Every employee there is Asian.

They are pro-seller and anti-consumer. It was like they wanted me to leave. I saw a commercial where a company's motto is every customer matters. It's definitely not eBay's motto that's for sure. All for 7.00 and a feedback I hope they think it was worth it. I was very sad, upset and mad. I didn't want to leave but you can only put up with so much before you say enough. Thank you, Thomas **. I sell nail polish and she indicated she did not like the color against her skin. She bought another color a completely different shades and stated the same. My polish is almost all one of a kind colors. So this was a large sale amount. I cannot take returns on open, used or tested products obviously because who wants to use polish a stranger used because you haven't already clue if they have a nail fungus. I decided to offer a partial refund and she could just keep the polish. She has not replied other that one text saying the next day she would get on eBay so we could resolve this issue. Well I never heard back from her.

In the meantime eBay has held onto the amount she paid and won't release it for 6 weeks from the time she filed a case which the same day I responded back to, oh she waited 2 weeks after getting it to file the dispute. I believe eBay only allowed me 3 days haha she get 6 weeks! I have called eBay and they are no help for us sellers. They informed me if she doesn't reply in 6 weeks they would close it out. They also told me if she sends it back no matter if she used it she will get a refund. Yep that's right she can use it and wear it and return it and get her money back. I see she purchases a lot of nail polish, cosmetics and clothing by looking at her feedback and seeing what her sellers are selling.

There is unfortunately no way I can see if she does this to other Sellers. Ebay doesn't allow Sellers to leave derogatory feedback only positive. It's sad to say after all the money in fees I have paid eBay and PayPal (eBay also owns PayPal ah double dipping) I am now planning to start my own website. On Dec. 8th and 9th of 2016 I won 20 items from the same seller on eBay (silvershop123). When I went to pay for the items I was only able to pay with cash I had in my PayPal account according to the seller. I paid for the items and realized on Dec. 13th 2016 that the seller had denied my payment and refunded my money. I sent the seller an email asking them why he refused to accept my payment but never received an email back. When a seller uses Paypal to accept cash only payments that gives them the ability to accept or deny the payment from the buyer. When I did not receive a reply from the seller as to why they denied my payment I started to think the seller did not get the amount they wanted for the items I had won so they denied my payment allowing them to repost the items to eBay and try and sell them again until they get the amount they want for each item.

This is not right... I legitimately won these items and think the buyer should be bound to keep his end of the bargain and send me the items I won. On Jan. 7th 2017 the seller opened 20 Unpaid Cases against me with eBay. On Jan. 8th 2017 I went into each case and Re-Paid for all 20 items one by one and this time was able to use my debit card for each payment. The same day the seller opened all the unpaid cases against me he sent me an email saying I had not paid for any of the items. He is the one who denied payment the first time then changed his accepted payment method when I paid him a second time.

I have been on the phone with eBay several times and although they show I re-paid for the items my account still shows all 20 items as being Un-Paid. I have also talked to Paypal to let them know of the issue I am having with this seller. Unfortunately, eBay has not been much help to me with this issue. I was even told by an eBay specialist that the seller could use whatever payment method they wanted to and there was not much I could do.Paypal put a hold on the seller's account and he has to contact them before he can accept the second payment I sent. If the seller does not accept my second payment my account still shows the items as being unpaid and my account will be affected. Paypal told me if the seller doesn't contact them in 10 days they will just refund my money. The moral of this story is that either way this goes the seller Wins...he is getting away with this. I am very upset with this treatment and considering not using eBay in the future.

I have been dealing with eBay for a long time now and I have an excellent buyer rating. Lately I have joined a Facebook buy and sell group and the difference between them and eBay is night and day. On the Facebook site I can figure out if I want the product, inform the seller that I want the product at the price they have it listed for, receive an invoice, pay the invoice and have the product in 4 days. For some products on eBay you have to bid on the product and you don't even find out you have been outbid on the product until 4 days later. I needed it before then! Needless to say, I won't buy through eBay anymore. They are so outdated!!

Since eBay removed the ability for sellers to leave negative feedback for non-paying buyers- there is no protection for sellers at all. Sellers are the ones that pay the fees on items sold- and are the people that keep eBay afloat. I have had 50+ buyers who simply choose to change their mind- lodging a non-paying bidder (NPB) complaint goes through eBay's automated system, and is automatically closed after 30 days- whether the complaint is resolved or not! How can eBay treat their sellers like dirt & get away with it?? EBay only survives because there is no viable alternative. Come on FB/Amazon/Google... Open an auction site!! You will instantly have MILLIONS of disgruntled sellers flock there.

I have been an active member of eBay since Sept. 03, 2003. My feedback is over 2000. I've sold as much as I've bought. I recently decided to sell some coins I bought on eBay. The buyer contacted me and said it wasn't gold on both sides. I responded with "It's a coin that only has 4999 others. They are all the same. All 5000." They said a bunch of discount mumbo jumbo. I contacted eBay because I've have sold Harleys, jet skis, Mary Kay, cars, plants, rare chicken eggs, everything. They left me hanging with no proof of default. They didn't even look at the other 4999 coins which I own 2 of. Both bought from mints on their site.

Once again. I have made a living off eBay. That was my income. I love eBay. After I get my coin back (if I do), I'm closing my account. I'm in sales and bring their name up to my customers for parts, remotes, etc. almost everyday. What they just did to me is as bad as Hillary and her lies. I put no returns because the auction was plain and simple. It's a 2015 Silver Eagle with 24K on one side. When I talked to them they recommended I refund the money. TOTAL horrible company. Thanks eBay. Friends, NO More **. I even sold 2 of 25 Donruss Prime Cuts Home Jersey Babe Ruth museum cards on there. Wow. It's all about the new customer.

eBay is a unique place to find many hard to get items and if you can sort out problems with a seller things may go OK, but if you can't look out. I've bought about $30,000 worth of items in the past, mostly breakable sculptures and people who don't wrap them properly will have them damaged in transit. First thing to realize the CR at eBay is exactly what the company wants. Few at eBay even know basic policy which is why I've made so many calls. I've been given two scenarios for returning items US to US and both turned out be wrong. The insane requirement to get a damaged piece back to the UK puts all the burden on the buyer if the seller wants to cause major difficulties.

The basic MO of the mooks and ** at eBay is to parrot back what you've just told then, they give (incorrect answers) to questions you've never asked. Then start the whole process over again. When you do reach someone who seems to know something you'll find out later you were given the wrong answer. The eBay staff is almost completely from the Philippines or India without any chance for US support. I was just given an incredible two week runaround by a UK seller at eBay. As a result I just canceled a UK purchase. These are mooks and ** who work for an organization that does not want qualified personnel (too costly). This cesspool of stupidity is indirectly part of the dumbing down of America.

The breakage in the pieces I've received was easy to photograph. If it's something you can't prove forget it. You'll lose the case as a buyer. My last experience was so bad that I may never buy anything from eBay again. Beware cagey sellers who will deny everything. Beyond belief bad is the standard here, heavily weighted in favor of the seller. If you only buy sturdy items from highly rated sellers you should do OK. Any contact with the mooks and ** will take you down.

After trying to buy an item I got a message onscreen that the seller did not take bids from people with negative feedback. Here a woman was bidding on my phone without me receiving any notification from anyone. No money or product changed hands. The buyer tagged me as a "scammer". After two failed attempts at trying to arbitrate I quit. Three years later I tried to get the negative feedback removed from my account. The fist rep said "not my department". Second rep said it should be removed after 1 year then sent me to another department.

Third rep argued that she couldn't remove it because it was Ebay policy. I demanded to speak to her superior. She took a phone number to have someone call me back. I received a callback from a supervisor. He said the same as the third rep. His solution was to open another account under another email address. Wow, a real honest solution. So I had to pay £10 to ship the item back to China. The content of which ranges from asking about the details of shoes (I haven't ever purchased shoes from eBay), calling me the wrong name, opening and closing messages with completely different names, and asking why there is a London address on the Royal Mail proof of postage (this was the address of the post office it was sent from). At the moment I'm stuck with them claiming I need to have every single line from the large Chinese return address (which includes Chinese letters) on the proof of postage. This is not what Royal Mail issue as standard as mine just has a postcode and tracking code on it (which they claim they can't find on the receipt either). He put a complaint to get his money back. I called eBay on 12/13/16. Told them everything. They looked at my listing said I did everything right and they decided in my favor. Then the buyer appealed and eBay then decided in his favor and took 700.00 out of my bank account without my consent and gave the buyer his money back. I called eBay and they told me I can't have the money and the item. I told them I don't want the item. He has to pick it up. They told me too bad they are taking the buyer's side.

I am sick and tired of eBay protecting the buyer and the seller getting screwed. This has happened to me about 30 times in 2 years. The buyer can leave bad feedback on the seller but the seller can't leave bad feedback against the buyer like you could do years ago. This is costing me time and money. So I took off all my listings on eBay and I will no longer do any business with them. I would recommend if you want to sell items stay away from eBay because they will screw you. This all happened to me on 12/23/16 and I also cancel my accounts with PayPal and I had to go to the bank to cancel my checking account and open a new one because PayPal also had my debit card and checking account number. If someone would like to ask me any questions feel free.

Ever since eBay split from PayPal, my experience with any issue related to payments has been just awful. If I have a payment related issue, eBay immediately tells me to go to PayPal. They refuse to get on the call with PayPal and me to resolve the issue. When I contact PayPal they tell me it's an eBay issue and there is no problem on PayPal side. eBay tells me it's a PayPal issue. Both companies ping pong me until I give up. This happened to me several times now. Complete waste of time, energy and money. PayPal reps are usually very knowledgeable and clearly explain the problem. eBay reps are restricted in what they can do and absolutely refuse to help resolve the issue with PayPal.

Example - I purchased an item on eBay in euros w credit card (not through PayPal). Instead got charged in dollars with a very unfavorable conversion rate. eBay purchase screen only had euros listed and no indication of conversion with an extra fee. Called eBay, they told me to look at Order Detail screen. Screen show amount in dollars with an amount of 154 dollars less than what I was charged on my credit card. Answer from eBay: "This is not our problem, PayPal is our payment processor, you deal with them." They could not explain why I got charged more than their screen shows and refused to get on a call with PayPal and me. Of course PayPal told me they process instructions from eBay.

EBAY: PLEASE TAKE OWNERSHIP OF AN ISSUE. CONTACT PAYPAL ON YOUR CUSTOMERS BEHALF, RESOLVE IT AND GET BACK TO YOUR customer. This is customer service 101. No other vendor would tell their customer to contact their payment processing provider. They take responsibility for the transaction end to end. Also eBay, please update your credit card payment screen to warn your customer that payment will be done by PayPal and foreign currency payments will be subject to an additional fee of .25%.

I had been on eBay since 2004 and made a lot of transactions until 2012, literally thousands and only once had a problem bc the seller forgot to send out the item I purchased. Then I started having issues with using PayPal on eBay and I couldn't even make purchases. Not until recently did I start using eBay again. I made about 20 transactions from businesses (all with good ratings) and only 15 of the items came by the due date, 5 of them not at all. I had to contact eBay repeatedly, go through "resolutions" and even if I didnt receive items I was unable to get a refund and the comments I left on the sellers' pages were removed. If you are paying money for items in advance there is no reason to have to go through hoops to just get what you pay for then given "reasons" as to why you were swindled. Customer Service is inept and eBay is a very poorly ran company who do not value the people who keep them in business. Deserve no stars.

I looked at many Sorel boots and decided on a pair for the reason that I could return them. I have a hard time with sizing. On the 3rd day, I heard a slapping noise coming from the left boot. The sole had come apart from the upper from the front of boot around the left outside for about 6 inches. I emailed Star City Traders out of Santa Fe, New Mexico and stated that I would be returning the boots for a refund. Right before mailing, I decided to open a dispute resolution with eBay to keep my 100% good standing over 14 years. And I had no response from the seller which is a first for me.

Anyway, it was a Sunday, and eBay said they would be in touch within 24-48 hours with a decision. I checked in later that evening and much to my surprise, eBay said I would receive no refund, and I couldn't return the boots. They said the boots wouldn't be in the same condition as when I received them. Any company knows that there are lemons in any product, and that's why they have fair business practices to deal with these. I'm told that I can appeal, but know I will be shot down like all the stories I've read here in ConsumerAffairs.

I'M MAD AND ANGRY AND FRUSTRATED AND FEEL LIKE I'VE BEEN WRONGED but don't feel like there's anything that I can do. I don't think it's just Star City Traders. I feel like eBay, WHICH IS ALWAYS CHANGING ITS USER AGREEMENT, IS THE CULPRIT, and has sided with the seller for its 10% and will only get worse as time goes on. It's time for me to end my eBay and for sure I have mixed feelings. I have bought and sold over 200 items in my 12 year run. In ending, beware of eBay and Sorel boots. They are not what they used to be. Not even close!!!

So what is the "money back guarantee"??? Because of the guarantee I never worried about what would happen if they were not received. The books were less than $8. Packages are lost all the time especially during the holidays. I was looking forward to reading these to my Pre-K class. Certainly not worth lying about. But what pisses me off is, don't lie and say you have a money back guarantee and then say "seller has tracking number so no refund". Closed my account immediately.

NO, eBay said that they were going to hold my funds until the 21st of Dec. and then I would have to wait 3 days for the funds to get to my bank account. This will put my money, Christmas money for my granddaughters by the way, on the 24th of Dec. What good will that do me or my granddaughters on Christmas morning?

I called eBay four different times about this issue and they told me that this hold was because I had sold only 3 items on eBay and needed to build a favorable account. Now I have been with eBay for 8 years and have bought 100s of items, and have always gotten an A+ from the seller, and on all 3 items I have sold I have gotten 5 stars feedback. So I had to call my bank so they can authorize the transaction. It's RIDICULOUS. I called and they said it is a normal business transaction and they don't have to authorize anything like that. I called eBay again and they said it wasn't a reason why the payment didn't go through. It is because I didn't have PayPal account. So I asked what I have to do to receive money. They said they couldn't assist me any further. I have to contact buyers by myself for the payment. WTF???

No more business with eBay. I do all my selling and buying with Amazon for years and never experience anything like this. But every single time I have my business with eBay, it has always been hectic. You lose my business forever, eBay. For management, if you want to stay in business, you should improve on your online system and your customer service how to assist your customers. Never tell customers to solve it by themselves. I've been selling on eBay for over 5 years now and the last year has been an absolute nightmare with regard to eBay/PayPal. My most recent experience, after numerous payment holds has been that I've sold a phone. The customer was not happy due to a software bug that I later tracked down to a Google software update. Regardless he was entitled to a refund which I provide in all my auctions. Having contacted the customer and confirmed that a refund would be given once the goods were returned I later found that he had opened a case with eBay who in the space of one day closed the case and refunded the buyer - informing me all at once.

I phoned and complained that I had been given zero notice nor any indication the customer had done this and was assured that despite there not being enough funds in my PayPal account to cover the refund that they COULD not take this money from my bank account linked through PayPal. The deficit would remain until I paid it. Needless to say within 5 days eBay had charged my bank account and still failed to remove the deficit from PayPal, unknown to me. As it happened the phone was still under warranty from the business I had originally purchased it from so I had returned it and received a replacement device as they themselves are unable to deal with bugs in Android updates.

I decided to then sell the replacement device as well on eBay only after the sale I now have no money in my PayPal account. I have been charged TWICE for selling two different phones and received a grand total of ZERO - the payment does not even showed up in my PayPal balance. I then complain to PayPal who ask me to send them a screenshot of the payment taken by eBay from my bank, which I do. They also say that on their system the refund to the original buyer has not been processed by eBay and that I should contact them. I do so and eBay assure me it has been, and it does in fact say "Case closed" on my account.

Basically I am using a checking account to do this with a small overdraft and am now incurring charges because of eBay/PayPal because I am over my overdraft. This is a direct result of weeks of incompetence on the part of these two companies. Is it my responsibility to "update their systems" myself? Do I have to telephone them and provide DNA evidence and a retina scan every time I transact online? Tracking codes, signatures, return periods... I have literally crossed every T and dotted every I and have an above standard reputation.

These two companies are laughable - they have graduated from withholding money to basically stealing it and I'm done with both of them. I intend to complain to the financial ombudsman over their conduct. At no point were eBay authorized to take money directly from my account. This is financial fraud and I've had enough of it. If I have to contact a solicitor to get this matter resolved I will and I certainly won't be using either service ever again.

I never told her anything negative about the product but her choice of the shipment company was India Post. Now, India Post has clearly tried to open my parcel again. I left her a neutral feedback and explained clearly in it that India Post had tried to indulge in thefts again with me though I gave them a chance. Without being reasonable, she leaves me a negative feedback asking me never to visit her store again though I always pay up the dues to every seller when I buy the goods. There have been absolutely no complaints against me before. None whatsoever.

But this seller claimed so many things in her private messages to me including things like "This is the first time I wanted to try selling in India but you shut down my shop before that", and then made other contradictory statements like, "You did not pay me for shipping" and blah blah. Hey, eBay India does not charge their buyers for shipping. The Drama Queen! Hey, if this Ms. Babita ** had been a good seller, she would have never dared retaliate and would have read the rules before joining the eBay India bandwagon first. Also, the main motivation for buyers is the FREE SHIPPING and not hidden charges for postage, etc. It's mostly included by the honest Indian sellers in the product cost itself. Even eBay told me on the phone that I have paid all my dues but this lady gets all retaliatory on me, doesn't think of the payment I honest made against the goods I purchased from her, etc. But eBay India supports her nonetheless.

When I wrote a complaint against her on the eBay forum, they are saying that it's against their "policies" to name a seller openly and edited my comments to remove her shop's name but yeah — they will tolerate it if a seller gives negative feedback to a buyer under the category of positive feedback and harasses good buyers! Their written policies are very clear but contradictory to how the problem was tried to be resolved on the phone - their policy clearly states - No seller should leave their buyers negative feedback - but the eBay staff tells me on the phone - anyone can leave anyone else any feedback they like. I wish they would go back to their USA — wherever they came from. There is absolutely no buyer protection. Just seller protection. How do you think customers will be happy?

If they want to save on taxes fraudulently from the USA, they can continue to stay in India. Otherwise, let them roll up their sleeves and prepare to leave my country. No other seller had done this to me before. This female seller claimed that she was born in India but has been to several places, etc. and that she still knows India in and out but she didn't seem to be able to predict that India Post is not being honest. At least, she could have done her homework before entering the Indian market about customer preferences, problems, etc. Plus, my postman is also constantly bothering me by saying that I need to stop complaining to India Post on their website because he is "honest" and did not steal and blah blah. I gave him another chance but the packet comes torn at the top.

I have lost around 200 GBP (Great Britain Pounds) while trying to buy artificial jewelry from the UK before... thanks to India Post's greedy employees. However, the honest seller from the UK thankfully refunded me or else I would have lost a huge sum of money. Plus, India Post had once stolen laddoo Prasad that came to me under "Registered, Speed Post" from the Mahakaleshwar Temple and they conveniently blamed it on the "rats." Thankfully, I noticed that the packet of sugar cubes that the temple had sent me was intact. If it had really been rats, I am sure those things wouldn't have spared even the packet of sugar cubes. I would strongly urge Indian sellers to continue using FedEx and BlueDart as compared to India Post. I am really getting tired of all this. Now, this seller has defamed me publicly but eBay is okay with it.

I would also urge buyers to stay away from this fraudulent seller "Tikis Handicrafts." If I really had a problem with the items, I would have sent a photograph and made a refund claim but since the product was perfectly alright, I did not do so. The package was torn though!!! I paid the seller INR 650 now, calculate the cost of raw materials for making jewelry it barely comes to INR 40 or 50. Plus, if they ship in bulk with private couriers, what do they lose? They get discounts. They can happily keep their profits and also save on shipping but this stingy seller sent it by India Post. I initially did not object because I decided to give my postman one last chance but the packet arrives torn still. Then, when it comes, I realized it is high time to stop allowing eBay sellers to ship items by India Post. So yes, I make other customers aware through a neutral feedback.

My intention was never to defraud the seller but she starts pouncing on me with accusations such as "I am shutting down her shop" and blah blah just like the foreign returned seller that she is. She uses big words to get her way! I am not one of those dishonest buyers please! Before anyone else can pounce on me, think! I have always paid my dues to eBay sellers and my records have always been neat. If I had really not paid her, she could have left me a negative feedback even if under a positive category but she got all vengeful and retaliatory just like a British Colonialist would have done to Indians back in the day! Wow! She even told me that she had "absolutely NO problems while selling her goods abroad." This is India - not abroad! If she is such a good seller, why doesn't she go back to wherever she came from? Seriously!

Ebay should be shut down!!! They allow fraud and theft on a massive scale. They encourage it too. They encourage buyers to do anything they want and get away with it. Do they not realize that sellers will only take so much before they go somewhere else. I've never seen anything like it. They need to have charges brought against them. Their business practices are disgusting! They're using sellers until they can't afford it or take the abuse any longer. I was ripped off 3 sales in a row in as many weeks. They refuse to do anything about it except tell me to go to small claims court or file a mail fraud complaint. Then they had the nerve to tell me fraud was extremely rare! I couldn't believe he said it with a straight face. I LOATH THEM! STAY AWAY SELLERS.

I have been scammed by the "Buyer Protection" labeling promised by this company. They are linked with their sister site "Half.com". I purchased a text book through a new Half.com seller on November 24, 2016, I received an EMPTY mailer on November 29, 2016, with post office documentation that it was "Received without its contents" and "Received Empty". Photographs were taken and sent to the seller, as well as Half.com, and eBay when a claim was filed. I am now being asked to return the empty mailer to the seller, with additional UNREIMBURSED shipping costs in order for the site to issue a refund. How ridiculous is this? This is actually a form of fraud on the part of eBay and Half.com. No longer will I be doing business on either site, and will inform others to avoid these entities as well.

I had bought from eBay and it is by people that do not have a seller permit and anybody could sell junk. The IRS needs to tax eBay for every item they sell from California because the internet business is located in California. I have bought items and did not receive a lot of the items. I had bought overseas items and I received a lot junk and it was not worth sending back because you would lose out on what you paid for.

This business should be sued by a class action lawsuit by a lawyer for fraud and it does not back up with a money back so they say, they use PayPal to collect funds and PayPal is an account they use separate from eBay. I also bought a Brother printer and it was sent back to the seller by the postal service for some reason and I asked the seller to send it to my home address instead or refund my account and eBay will not refund my account or the seller for an item that I did not receive. I will call my credit card and see if I could get a refund? Or I may have to take eBay to small claims court. I also already filed with the Better Business agency.

eBay will almost automatically take the buyer's side no matter the situation. I recommend OfferMeUp for an alternative. I sold some items that were impossible to get damaged, but buyer made false accusations. I included the original packaging instead of throwing them into an envelope. The buyer stated a couple of the figures had scratches when I know they did not. The items were purchased a week prior from the store, but ended up being duplicates. Needless to say eBay went with the buyer. Ad clearly stated no returns and used. Will never do business with eBay again.

Ordered a used washing machine control board for my washing machine. Seller described as excellent working condition. Received part and immediately installed it. Turned machine on. It gave me a error code on screen which indicated that the control board was bad. Sent eBay pictures of the control board displaying the error code and asked for a refund. A few days later received confirmation that I would be getting a full refund. Now about a week later I receive another email saying that they made the decision not to refund me my money back with no explanation! Never using eBay again. I will just stick to Amazon. Never had any problems with them!!!
