Been buying on eBay for 10 Years, sold an item and lost $100 because of terrible policy and customer service. Situation: I sold 16GB of RAM brand new and stated "no returns". Seller is not responsible for compatibility. After lengthy discussion between the buyer and me, clearly indicating that the computer component isn’t compatible with his computer. Regardless, I was not allowed to reject the return because buyer stated that it was defective. It is not. I've since received it, tested it, and am using it in my computer right now. I called eBay customer service who told me that because the buyer SAID it was defective, I can’t decline the return and advised me to issue a refund then make a claim with them if the item wasn't defective. They said there was nothing they can do until I refund and receive the item. Then, once I had done that, I could get protection from eBay.

I received the item, tested it, and sure enough. 100% working condition. I called eBay who told me that because I'm not a business that they can't offer me protection against return policy abuse. They also told me that because I "accepted" a return (which I was instructed to do) (and there was no option to decline the return) that it's even harder to get protection. Now, I'm out $60 for auctioning it off at a discount, $82 for the sale price of the item which has been taken from me, $6.99 for shipping, then an additional $2.75 for providing a return shipping label (which is mandatory). Now I have an item that is no longer new and not worth its true value and I'm out $151.94 for having used eBay. Oh wait, add another $2.75 for the listing fee from eBay. You'd think that because I've been a loyal buyer for 10 years that would count for something, but it doesn't.

I have purchased different items many times through eBay over the last seven years or so and I have never had a problem. I ordered a skirt (it was new), when I received it I opened it up and it had the worst strongest chemical/perfume smell. It was overwhelming and I had to wash my hands three times with soap and they stilled smelled. I emailed the seller and they never returned my email. I waited over a week and then I called eBay customer service.

The women that answered the call was the rudest customer service rep that I ever have encountered! She told me that there was nothing they could do. I told her I wanted to open a dispute and she said there was no recourse for something smelling bad. I told her this was not just a bad smell. It was intolerable! At this point she became so so rude & curt, I was in shock how unkind she had become. eBay is definitely no Amazon not even in the same ballpark, I have never had a bad experience with Amazon & I've dealt with them many times. First time with eBay, needless to say I will be deleting my eBay account.

My bank tries to help us get our money back but eBay refused and said we owed the money for 1 item even though it was not our purchase and we did not get it. That sort of thing turns you off of a company like eBay when they don't protect their victims or (customers) and I don't feel safe to use eBay anymore. I just could not sit back and not say something to other customers about eBay.

There are probably many victims who have complained before, but there can never be enough warnings issued for one of eBay's biggest rip offs. Rather than ensure a speedy and economical service for international buyers, this shipping process is a cynical and nefarious way for eBay, in collusion with Pitney Bowes, to increase its profits on every sale using the system.

For those unaware of the system, the shipping process is NOT priority in any way. Items are dispatched using slow economy shipping at inflated and exorbitant rates. Full tracking is often not provided. Unnecessary or non-existent import charges are included whatever the cost of the item and DISCLOSED AFTER THE BUYER HAS AGREED TO BUY. Despite the posted conditions of this process being available to all buyers, there must be a severe doubt concerning their infringement on legal rights and, in some respects of the whole transaction, must be skirting the boundaries of out-and-out fraud. There really needs to be a much more public expos done to increase awareness of this deplorable practice.

I do not sell many things on eBay, but when I left my dental office, I had several large things to sell. This complaint is about the sale of my vacuum machine. It is a heavy piece of equipment, at over 150 lbs. I knew it would have to be tied onto a pallet. I saw the standard shipping methods on the site, but evidently did not see the drop-down that says Freight; contact seller for shipping information (or words to that effect). All the information that I filled out for standard shipping put the fee at about $200. The eBay listing said "buyer to pay shipping". The buyer paid that and the cost of the item. However, shortly after, I discovered that UPS wouldn't take anything as large as this, and it had to be shipped via a trucking company. A small panel truck came to get it, I signed their forms which basically said that they would find a trucking company to take it to Indiana. About 5 months after this, I received my first invoice from the trucking company, for $524.

I contacted eBay customer service. After finding out that the first clerk was unable to help, I was told that a supervisor would call "within the hour". 5 hours later, I was at the grocery store and the call came in. It was impossible for me to talk there, so she rescheduled the call for 9 AM today. It came at 1 PM when I was out of the house. She did leave a number to call back and a service request number. I called, and after going through my issues, was basically told that eBay is never going to help me to contact the buyer, nor will they pay the extra shipping.

I realize that I have some responsibility here, for not using this sales site enough to be facile with it. But I also feel that they, as a multi-billion dollar corporation should do a better job on their information to prevent things like this from happening. I am upset that I have to contact the buyer, and tell him to pay for the shipping as was stated in the listing. I expect to be more upset when he tells me to take a hike. But maybe he will be ethical, which doesn't vindicate eBay, Inc.

I wouldn't recommend eBay as a seller or buyer. I've been selling there for almost a year and have had so many problems with their customer service and billing policies. I also have to go over my monthly bills with them every month, they overcharge your account, and you really have to watch their billing invoices. I've overpaid and it wasn't reflected on my account, etc. They put holds on your account, even when you're current with your payments. Just ridiculous. I'm looking for another website to list and sell on. Definitely wouldn't recommend them. Not worth it, too many hassles and bad service and policies. Negative.

Because in whitewashing the feedback of sellers these sellers appear to be honest when they're not and it infuses false confidence in the buyers! I've had appropriate and honest feedback removed from 3 sellers in the past year! When I contact EBAY about why they removed it they'll say something like, "well I don't understand why your feedback was removed... Clearly it was justified feedback... But there's nothing we can do here at EBAY to reinstate your feedback...sorry"... EBAY DOES THIS CONSTANTLY! They want absolute control over the feedback left and there is no other site on the world web that is so completely dishonest and controlling of feedback! BOYCOTT EBAY! On October 10, 2017 I won an auction at eBay & was to make payment promptly & soon discovered eBay refuses to accept payment through my Visa debit card & wants me to sign up or open a PayPal account to accept my payment. eBay had no issues before accepting payment using the same Visa debit card which I used for 20 purchases in 2017 & as a guest in the previous years without signing up or opening a PayPal account until this last item which eBay now has opened a case against me for an unpaid item. If it matters, I have a 100% buyer feedback by making payment promptly on purchases I owe.

I had a terrible experience with PayPal in the past which took a decade to retrieve the money they owe me & after that experience vowed never to use PayPal ever again. eBay now tells me that the reason they are not accepting my Visa debit card is that I have exceeded paying with a Visa debit card usage eBay & PayPal policy(?). I have never heard of such absurd policy that a merchant like eBay is forcing or bullying a buyer to open a PayPal account to make payments. eBay should accept the payment I had been trying to make with my Visa debit card or do not complain or file a case against me for unpaid item, this is not on me, I am willing to pay what I owe but eBay is the one that created the problem by changing the rules on me.

Is it even legal for eBay to do this kind of business practice? It seems discriminatory to me that the US$ that comes out directly of my checking account debit card is being treated as inferior or of lesser value compared to the PayPal version. If eBay's goal is to lose good paying customers, then eBay should get a tap on the back for doing a successful & wonderful job. They are not hurting the buyer like me, I can take my business elsewhere where my disposable income are welcome but unfortunate to the hardworking sellers who has to pay eBay & PayPal for their services.

I know my business doesnt matter, I'm no one but it will be a cold day if I ever make any more business with eBay, I have removed all my listings and I'll sell somewhere else. If eBay is going to allow a criminal to get away with my merchandise and my money then they dont need my business, I really hoped that eBay couldve helped me resolve this issue, if not it's not like eBay is going to go bankrupt. Sellers should have a little more warranty than go file on IC3 and good luck. Not happy at all!! I highly recommend you never sell anything on any website that offers no protection to you!

Users that have done this to me recently have still got 100% positive feedback because eBay don't allow you to review them so are just encouraging the behavior. I paid for an item I purchased on eBay on 9/16/2017. I sent several emails to the seller with no response. The shipping estimate (which was about a 2 week window) came and went and I had to wait another 3 days to file my money back guarantee claim. When I attempted to file my claim with eBay, which of course promises money back guarantee, the system said I had to send yet another email to the seller and wait 4 days for a response. If no response then eBay will step in. Except today is the 4th and I filed today. Their system now says I have to wait until the 11th for eBay to honor their contract with me, the buyer!

I called eBay and the women went on about how they have to file their guidelines. The problem is, their guidelines change each time you try to get them to honor their legally binding contract! First it was wait 3 days, then wait 4 days and then wait 7 days!! All that before eBay will lift a finger to honor their contract with me. By the time eBay wants to step in (and who even knows now what that might mean... more waiting most likely) it will be almost a month since I paid for my item and received absolutely no response, whatsoever, from the seller and no item. I will no longer purchase items on eBay and I will let others know that as well. -100 IF IT WAS ALLOWED. Ebay's behavior is as deceptive as the sellers has been.

Ebay decided to refund me the purchase money.

    Original Review: Oct. 2, 2017

The eBay listing was for a used Sony Playstation 3 console. One photograph showed a painted unit. The description read: “I have a Ps3 slim 320gb comes with controller and cords and Need For Speed Shift works perfect.” As a side note, I have some reason to believe the seller is under 18 years of age, which violates eBay’s terms of service. I would be happy to list my reasoning if it is requested. Once item was purchased, I was informed that a ribbon cable was on order to repair the console. I was not informed beforehand that I was purchasing a broken console that was in the process of being repaired.

Upon receiving the item, it reeked with cigarette smoke and chemicals. The exterior is highly damaged with holes and channels cut into it. The electrical cord input was loose, and the eject and power buttons stick, as they are caked with some type of glue or paint. Upon examination I find insect husks and parts in some of the cracks and crevices. The hard drive is covered in insect feces consistent with those of mites.

At this point I remove the top cover for the purpose of checking the quality, and any other unspecified damage as well as providing photos. Several Phillips screws were removed and the Torx tamper proof screws were missing. Under the cover revealed a plethora of mite feces and cigarette tar on much of the surface of the electrical components, as well as full and partial insect exoskeletons as well as parts. No components under the cover were touched, and the console was immediately moved outside of my home for fear of an infestation transferring. This person denied a return, offered an exchange, told me not to contact him. I had opened a case file for a return and the case was moved to the status of the seller approving the return and creating a return label. However no label was sent to me. I stopped contacting the seller per their request.

I called eBay and explained the situation and was told that eBay would refund my money. I said “what happens if he does send the label, and I return the item. I want a refund; I do not want anything else from that seller as the first item was a health risk.” I was informed again, to send it back and eBay would refund me. I was told if the seller does not provide the label, eBay will provide further instruction after the third business day. During the weekend I receive 2 emails, on a Sunday evening, one that the seller had asked for eBay’s help, and another saying the case was closed that eBay made a final decision.

Why did I have to wait so long but the seller gets an answer immediately, and during non-business hours? Now, after my waiting the case was closed and only the person on the telephone got to hear my side of the story, who said I would be refunded. My pictures were never asked for while eBay was making their decision. The decision was ruled in favor of the seller because the item was "opened." However it was opened for the sole purpose of taking photos and "For the purpose of checking the quality, characteristics and functioning of the item." Per the eBay money back guarantee. The purchase also included a game (which had the feces in the case, along with a brown, gooey, liquidy substance which to the extent of my knowledge could just as well be mice urine) and a controller which I did not bother looking at nor telling eBay about as it was the least of my worries.

In each case the deliveries were refused due to damaged packaging. One of the sellers asked me to pay for half the shipping. Couldn't believe it.

I received a Cabela's rain bib described as 5x new. Received unsealed bib, tried it on and won't fit a 3x man, me. Cabela's has contracted their manufacturing to China and the sizes are 30-40% smaller. The seller was insulating and argumentative to boot. Seller demanded I pay return shipping and 15 percent restocking fee, amounting to a third of the paying price. Dumbfounded. A very annoying thing about all this is eBay and PayPal want to hide anything under dispute so it makes it hard to keep track. So if you're a big guy who wants to grow blueberries in the rain, stay away from ebay! I have had good experience buying and selling camera equipment and electronics, to be fair in my assessment.

eBay will let anyone sell on their site, protect them from bad ratings by stretching out pending cases past time to leave accurate feedback. They know we are not going to take the time to package up proper and send back a product and pay shipping as it is not worth it. Their "go to reply" "return the item" knowing we won't. We bought a product and want that product and eBay doesn't care if you get paid back or not as long as they get paid. We have all recommended they make it known. If sellers get paid they should deliver the product described or eat the cost as we do FOR FREE when taking our time away from business to package up and send back a product that is not what they listed or missing items from shipment.

1 in 50 items are not what they send and are missing items or packaged poorly and get ruined/parts lost in shipment. eBay ripped my friend off for a Harley at the tune of 15,000.00. Never got his money back. eBay does not care as long as they get paid. eBay community, (a bunch of ass kissing eBay employees) lie through their teeth about everything to make you think you are out of line. They said "98% is a poor rating and I should have known better than to buy from them" WTF?!?! If their rating is bad at 98% why let anyone sell on eBay that is less than 100%?!?!?

These sellers have pumped their account full of fake positive reviews by buying things from their own account and then writing a review. Motorola XT1100 XT1103 Google Nexus 6 LCD Screen Display Digitizer - I purchased this item (item number: 131460236840) a month ago from ebay because my phone was shattered and I needed it badly. It says it was delivered a few days after, but I never received the package. I checked with USPS (the carrier) multiple times but they didn't have it either. So I contacted the seller and explained what happened and asked for a refund or resend, after a couple days they responded that it's a decision of ebay. Ebay denied it and did not take any responsibility although they "claim" they have "eBay Money Back Guarantee". I was so angry with how they reacted, I was treated like I'm lying and the fault is on me!!! This was a 100$ purchase (99.98$ when I bought it), it's not something I can ignore because it's not a cheap purchase for a student and I needed this item.

I tried to leave this feedback for the seller (usmobileparts) on ebay but it says there are no sellers I can write a review for! I also tried to leave a feedback but THEY REMOVED MY FEEDBACK! THIS WHOLE THING IS SO RIDICULOUS AND FRUSTRATING AND STINKS OF FRAUD AND DISRESPECT FOR THE CUSTOMER. They have even made the item more expensive since I purchased it. I don't trust this seller at all and I don't trust ebay anymore. The same thing happened with Amazon once and refunded me immediately with no question or debate, that's how they respect their customers. After about 2 months later I found the protector in my mailbox that it was broken!!! I decided to never buy again from eBay but unfortunately I forgot the promise that I made with myself! I bought a CISS ink bank for printer and also 4 colors ink for my printer again in eBay. This time they arrived soon. When my printer's inks finished I decided to use that inks and CISS.

I filled the CISS with inks and when I tried to install it to my printer I found that it's not match to my printer! I remember that in previous time I lose my tablet and eBay just told me the 3 dollars protector is free! In this time I thought if I tell them again I will get a same answer again! E-bay is not good forever. I'm not satisfy of this garbage seller forever! I'll tell this experience everywhere every time for all the people that I know. I will keep this package forever to show everybody that I know. E-bay is a real garbage seller. A very wonderful event after all is that after I left my feedback of my dissatisfaction about that CISS, I checked about my opinion but I saw there were just satisfied opinions! It shows that eBay do the way intentional and it's a big liar! I won't turn it back even with 15$ discount. It makes me so upset to think that eBay gives false hope to letting sellers know that sellers are "protected" when selling on eBay. I've been selling on eBay for many years. I sold a MacBook air and shipped it out to the buyer who is located in Alabama. I shipped it with tracking and signature confirmation and although it's not mandatory for sellers to purchase additional insurance for the seller, I shipped it out anyways. Fast forward 2 weeks later, buyer opens a request requesting refund because it was never delivered. Tracking shows that it's just delayed, not lost. After immense investigation calling the buyer's USPS and distribution facility, USPS thinks the most logical explanation is that the label was somehow altered enough that the shipping address is unreadable. For packages with damaged labels, packages will be sent to another facility to be sorted out and it can take anywhere from 90-120 days to find it but that's not even guaranteed.

It's not the seller or buyer's fault but eBay immediately sided with the buyer and gave the full refund of almost $600 back to the buyer without even suggesting that the buyer wait it out a bit longer (because the package can actually be delayed). Then suggest to me that if for any reason the item gets delivered later, I can request the buyer to give me back the funds or return the MacBook. How incredibly STUPID of eBay to think that any person out there would give back the money if they basically received a free MacBook!!! I'm so turned off at how eBay's "escalation specialist" handled this situation.

Things I learned from eBay: Never ship to anyone living in rural Alabama. This buyer probably lives in some disgusting swamp and has a bad address. No wonder USPS says the package is delayed because they probably can't figure out which craphole you live in. eBay "escalation specialists" should probably figure out a different title for their career. You don't even do the BARE MINIMUM and just give back refunds to the buyer without even considering the seller's situation. I will be closing my eBay account after all these years of selling because I'm disgusted at their seller "protection" policy and will tell everyone what a horrific experience this was. Bye Felicia.

I have been shopping on eBay since 2000. In the beginning the climate felt quite different than now. I liked bidding in auctions as it challenged me to really think about what I was trying to buy, and what value it had for me. But monitoring auctions can be very time-consuming and especially those closing in the middle of the night. I was really happy when I found sniping software so that I didn't have to sit in front of my computer waiting for an auction to end.

In the early years I used eBay to find my hobby supplies which can be quite expensive, and of course my daughter went through the Beanie Baby craze. As she reached middle school she went from tomboy to wanting to dress designer style. And styles do change quickly. EBay afforded us the opportunity to buy at prices we could comfortably afford such as buying a $115.00 Baby Phat Satin Bomber Jacket for $35.00. I'm also not opposed to buying used clothing or shoes as long as they are in good condition. I bought name brand and designer clothing and accessories at a fraction of the retail price. I love antique porcelain both European and Asian. EBay was my hog heaven. I can't say that I had a lot of problems shopping on eBay as overall my experiences have been good. I've had a few transaction problems with sellers over the years, and for the most part was able to settle disputes satisfactorily. My interactions with eBay and Paypal's customer services have been good, and only in very few situations felt it could be handled differently.

The community boards on eBay have been very helpful in learning how to handle most of the situations that came up. There have been a lot of policy changes over the years some good, and some bad. Fraud seems to be increasing especially with buyers. It's important to learn how to minimize risk and loss. I don't buy much internationally anymore, and when I do they tend to be low-value items, and low weight because returns are pricey. The majority of non-deliveries and not as described were international purchases.

Overall, I still love shopping on eBay, but it does feel much more impersonal. The policy changes have also affected sellers in a negative way by creating tensions with the dispute process. Sellers cannot leave negative feedback which I see as a mistake and disadvantage. I feel that sellers should be permitted to comment when they aren't paid, or when there is clear evidence of a fraudulent return. It has become much more adversarial and a one size fits all return policy has insufficient protection for sellers in some cases. In the very least there should be a mechanism for appeals when a seller doesn't receive their merchandise back, or receives something significantly different, or their item is not returned in the same condition.

I think that most people selling on eBay are individuals and I feel eBay needs to consider that when making changes to policy. I don't see pushing sellers to have 30-day return policy is feasible because most can't afford to sit on the money for 30 days to make sure the customer is happy with their purchase. Fine for brick and mortar businesses that have capital funds and alternative revenue streams. However, as in any venue, you take precautions to protect yourself, and do provide quality service to avoid customer dissatisfaction.

Auctions can be fun and at times you get a great price. I love that eBay is still a place where you can find the unusual and rare. On the other side, fixed price sales can minimize exposure to buyers who don't pay by requiring immediate payment. If your seller doesn't deliver the buyer is protected by eBay's guarantees. Buyers also need to make sure that they have a safe place to receive packages as well. Many a package has gone missing after delivery so if you are purchasing a high-value item signature delivery minimizes the possibility of loss. The packages should be insured full value as well should it go missing or damaged. EBay is still a great place to have fun buying, and a unique website where almost anyone and everything can be sold.

Let me just say, if you’re thinking about selling on eBay beware that they don't protect the sellers like they say they do. Both eBay and PayPal are for whom ever is paying the money and how much they will make, it’s not for what's right and wrong or as written that they protect the sellers from buyers, like for instance, a buyer, even after having the purchased item from the seller can come back several months later and complain they have issues with the items or just changed their mind and want a refund even when you as a seller disagree due to it clearly says per sellers return policy all sales are final. This is mandatory when listing an item to sell on eBay. You are stepped through a listing process that asks you about returns if you will accept or not.

eBay claims to protect the seller by their policy and procedures, you have to follow the rules that change or made unclear to the seller at first "like the fine print". You could say that because they are big businesses they get away with a lot. When listing an item the seller has to go through eBay's listing process and it’s confusing because they have a listing program you’re walked through to describe what you're selling and procedures that they want the sellers to follow each and every time you post an item.

I paid almost $12 to get a return shipping label that, on multiple computers I was unable to print. I contacted eBay regarding the issue and lost track of time while waiting for a response. Flash forward 30 days and I receive a message from eBay stating the seller received the item and a refund was issued though I hadn't even sent it back yet? I immediately call eBay and I'm told that is an automated message they send assuming everything has been taken care of. I ask what should I do. I explain the entire situation and I'm told not to worry about the 30 day return policy, I should mail the item back myself and call eBay back with the tracking number. I was told they would take care of it and even refund my original shipping I was unable to use.

I mailed the phone back splurging for 2 day, certified shipping. The phone was confirmed returned August 16 and still, today 09/03/2017 no refund. I call eBay again and I'm told, completely contrary to what I was originally told, eBay cannot help me and at this point it's between me and the seller. Now I'm out around $25 in shipping costs, I'm still paying interest to PayPal on a $250 dollar phone that I don't even possess and I'm at the mercy of the seller to either tell give me a refund or send me back a phone that I cannot use.

I'm a customer that has purchased almost $2500 in goods over the past 6 months and I'm told to pound sand? Had they told me from the first time I had called that they couldn't help that would be one thing but, here I am now left holding the bag because they gave me poor information. If it's eBay policy to jump over dollars to pick up dimes good luck with that business model. Competition is fierce in this arena of selling right now.

After posting this review - below, I get a call from eBay Customer Service 9/1/17. (NOTHING I said during the message process on eBay gave me any indication that they cared to resolve this issue.) It took this review. They were very careful not to admit they may have been wrong (calling defective shoes "buyer's remorse", or suggesting I just resell them - which IMHO is totally dishonest) etc but once I posted my review, they refunded me anyway. I checked my PayPal balance and the refund was there.

Well after that I get ANOTHER message from them today 9/2/17 saying: 'The corrections team responded and unfortunately, because you filed a chargeback with PayPal (case id: **), we are unable to grant you your refund.' What is crazy is I was TOLD by the eBay customer support team that I should file for a refund through PayPal because they would not do anything about the issue. When I got the last email from them on 9/2/17 they had already issued the refund. I suppose now they are going to raid my PayPal account? They had to gall to suggest I read their policy? It appears their policy is a MESS.

How rude and how far down the Rabbit hole of bad customer support do you go??? I sincerely hope if they ever call me again I should get a written and documented APOLOGY because as a customer I do NOT deserve being treated this way. All I wanted to do was return shoes that were not the same length. Unfortunately I could not alter my right foot to use them. I currently have them up for sale for a dollar but unlike the unscrupulous person that sold them to me I define the lengths of each shoe. And no, no one has bid on them as you can imagine. I received an Email stating I have been given a refund and that it will be deposited into my PayPal account. It will take two days to deposit the refund into Paypal and an additional five days for it to be credited to my Paypal account. I Googled Ebay's customer service telephone number which is the only way to get it and received a rep with a heavy accent. He could only tell me that all refunds go through PayPal whether or not the item was purchased through PayPal. It has been a month since I purchased the non existent item and no refund yet. I suspect my money is somewhere in an interest bearing account. The Federal Trade Commission needs to step in and straighten EBay out. I will never buy anything from Ebay again. There is no consumer protection. The Case ID is **. The order number is not available.

eBay is the last resort for finding replacements for favorite items. The prices are generally fair, but not all of them are as advertised. There are petty annoyances along with the low pricing. The bidding process can be tedious and usually drive the price up beyond the worth of the item - a great position for the seller. The Buy-It-Now option can be the most expedient and less expensive option, but often the shipping costs are ridiculously inflated to cover the low item cost. To score well on eBay, the buyer has to be informed and leave emotion out of the bidding process.

The items at eBay are not always as described. A sun visor for a "classic car," was not authentic as seen and described; an "art deco" picture frame was a mass produced junky frame; other auto parts were not as described. However, some purchases were nice surprises. If you're no expert in what you are looking for, beware. One buyer accused me of not paying, when I had and wanted to give me a "poor" rating. You are not dealing with a business, but with individuals or groups. Little recourse for problems. If you know exactly what you want, you can get some delightful, hard-to-find bargains.

Located: Staten Island, NY, United States. Member since: Nov 15, 2012. Positive Feedback: 100%. In short: She sent me the wrong item (US to CH). eBay rule: if it's the seller's mistake, they need to refund the return shipping as well. I asked her and she confirmed 'only first class shipment'. When I told her that in Switzerland the cost is x CHF, she then said CHOOSE THE CHEAPEST (yes I got capital letters here and there). Item arrived to her but I heard nothing. Messaged her and she said she is waiting for eBay. I called eBay, who then confirmed that seller REFUSED to refund.

In the end eBay forced her to refund my item (good idea to pay with PayPal). HOWEVER. eBay apparently remove my negative feedback for her store. So that makes me wonder, how many other negative feedbacks were removed? Here's her message to me after the feedback was removed in Ebay: "Good try. Your negative is gone. A "buyer" on eBay paid the money via Paypal and as soon as I notified him that I had shipped the bike, he put in a request for refund. I was stunned. He said that I had not advertised the bike correctly and I knew he was out to get my bike and his money back. Thank God I was able to intercept the bike via USPS but this cost me more money and I actually paid $70 of the shipping for the "buyer." Even after all of this happened, I called eBay, sent multiple messages, they refunded the "buyer" and even refunded him the shipping. Then, they said that I still owe them the seller fees of $43.

This is a very dangerous website and it needs to be shut down. Please do NOT sell on eBay. This is the second bike I lost money selling. The first bike I sold was a $3000 road bike, less than one year old. The "buyer" said after he received the bike that it had more scratches than I had said in the ad. He wanted $400 off the bike! I told him no and to send the bike back. Well, he sent it back and the frame of my bike was cracked!!! It cost me $400 to repair and I lost the shipping money as well. eBay would do nothing as they said I signed for the package. I hope all sellers are reading this and refuse to do business with this fraudulent company.

I have never ventured into the "selling" end of the pool with these folks as just too many restrictions for the genre of product I might be willing to sell. I can find relationships elsewhere with Benz centric people with vast amounts of product knowledge not generally found here. There very well may be some but perhaps not spent enough time searching and or cultivating. On the "BUY" side of things, I have been far more successful in multiple genres of merchandise in a spectrum from auto parts to specific m's casual sportswear. I know what I am looking for with a reasonable understanding of the quality/value relationship of the product (s) and pay almost instantly at the completion of the auction or whatever the buying proposition might be.

Seller ratings are very important so I respond in kind for a job well right down to the packing materials if they were over and above securing the item of purchase. It shows commitment to the transaction and in my opinion commitment should be rewarded in kind. The flip side is that I do use PayPal for all my purchases which does afford me some means of protection in the event the purchase goes south or the seller is found be wanting whether it's description, condition and or delivery time. Think I have only gone to Pay Pal arbitration once in ten years so a very good average on say a hundred or so units. By and large a happy Ebay BUYER.

We sent a printer and monitor to eBay Valet to be sold on eBay. We had the items packaged by eBay Valet's FedEx pack and ship service. The monitor was rejected and returned to us by the eBay Expert Seller for "residue on screen". The "residue" on the monitor is some substance that was spilled on the screen either in transit or by the Expert Seller - the monitor was clean when we originally had it packaged at FedEx. The printer was also returned to us for not being testable due to shipment without cartridges... after eBay's own shipping service instructions specified that it must be shipped without cartridges.

To add insult to injury... actually, to be accurate, injury to insult... eBay Valet's seller returned the electronics to us in inadequate packaging - worn, unmarked boxes which split in transit, and flimsy bubble wrap totally inadequate for protection of heavy, delicate electronics. Neither box was marked "Fragile" or "Handle with care," or any other marking to indicate they contained electronics, and thus both were dumped haphazardly on our doorstep, the printer on its end. We originally sent both items in secure electronics boxes packed by FedEx staff.

The printer was returned to us in a sloppy single layer of bubble wrap. The printer housing is cracked in several places, control housing hanging off, and small inner pieces falling out, plus soaked by rain coming in the damaged box. When we sent them, both items were clean, tested as working, and in good condition. Now both items are damaged and unsellable, due to packing negligence and mishandling while in the "care" of eBay Valet's Expert Seller. Definitely not what we had bargained for. We would have done better to keep the electronics in our non-expert but diligent care!

It is fun to bid on items and get interesting purchases. However, you are at the mercy of the sellers to accurately represent items and send with adequate packaging. Although most sellers give accurate descriptions and good pictures, and answer questions about products, unfortunately sometimes items are not in condition described or shipped with poor packaging and arrive damaged. Then most sellers do not offer returns so if there is a problem you are either stuck with item and sometimes an adjustment or even though a seller's site states no returns they will not give a refund unless you return item at your expense. But Customer Service can be helpful as well as resolution process if seller is willing. When it is good, it is very good and when bad it is awful.

We raised Claim no. **. eBay informed that the product is covered under eBay Guarantee. Be assured if seller doesn't resolve your claim we will settle out. After 8 days suddenly eBay informed that your case is rejected as parcel was delivered in 500gm weight. Can anyone tell me do they keep weighing machine at home and weight the parcel. On the shipping Details attached to parcel says Est Wt 0.3 kgs. When seller asked us what is the weight of parcel we took it to a shop and weight it. It was 0.24. (Empty box) It indicates no mobile was shipped. As it is clearly mentioned on shipping Details 0.3kg.

We sent message to seller Shabeerf1. He first tried to put the ball into the eBay court. Then he said need not worry it is under power courier. On our further message he informed to wait and let him get the material then he will revert. We got assured that he has got the clue and shortly our claim will be settled. To our shock today I. e on 11th August, he took U turn and replied your claim has been rejected by eBay so contact eBay. We also checked with courier service I. e FedEx to our shock we came to knew that neither eBay nor seller has made any complaint to FedEx. That means both were just fooling us without any stern action to resolve the issue. We request all buyers of eBay never buy against Advance payment only opt for COD. Otherwise you will also fall prey to this cheating.

Sold and bought items on eBay for a few years. Each year, more stupid policies, and more and more unfair business, and LESS sales. In case you need the money you make on eBay === The end result is you become a slave that works for them, pays them most of the earnings and keeps quiet when eBay gives away YOUR money as refund, just to keep some scammers happy (to return). SO they are illegal (I do not see what legislation can accept that someone (buyer) keeps the products and gets his money back.... while the seller lost his products and the cash for it), their practices unfair and immoral, and they try operate legit hiding under that "policy" lie!

Customer support poor, always have to call them... wait and have someone tell you that they totally understand "your frustration" but that they cannot do anything for you. Why? Because that is the policy. Sad company, generated a lot of anger from millions of people, all over the world, tries to hustle just to live from one year to another, soon it will not be possible, end is coming, and there will be someone that will take its business (hopefully a company with better practices).

It is time for eBay to regret the high fees that sellers need to tack to items for sale. Time to use sites like OfferUp and make eBay regret treating seller unfair. When you call eBay you get China people that never bought or sold on eBay. They are the most ignorant people in the world to be telling us what to do. They suspended me for putting in a phone number for buyer to ask question. I explained that buyers like to talk to sellers on the phone. China said no and I have to listen or leave eBay. I have been pushed too far this time. I have had other problems over the years but had no other site to sell on. NO MORE CHINA BOSS/MIDDLE MAN.

I have had a few problems but generally they were taken care of. I have loved being able to sell many items easily and for a fair price.

When purchasing from eBay you may not get the quality represented in the advertisement. But what has always been a big problem with EBAY for me is the fees charged by EBAY when you sell on EBAY. EBAY misrepresents and lies about what they will charge in order to sell an item on their site. The fee charged can very easily be more the you are profiting with the sale or simply not the sale worthwhile.

I found out the hard way that you need to research everything about a company before you order from them, I ordered a shirt that I really liked only to find out it was made in Singapore and their sizes do not match American sizes. Anyone who sells online with any site should only sell AMERICAN MADE PRODUCTS. I was out my money. Buying from China, and other countries need to be investigated thoroughly before they accept their products.

I gave a bad review on their shipping. They didn't like that at all. I have purchased items from China, but didn't have to wait that long. I sold a brand new book on eBay. Buyer thought that it was a copy of an old book due to gray highlighted parts in the book. I believe he expected to see yellow highlights. He started to return. I replied his email with some proof showing that it was an original book. I told him that he could go to Barnes & Nobles or visit Amazon to see the same book and pages. He didn't reply.

I asked to eBay to step in, close the case and release my money. I had even pasted the sample page pictures from Amazon. I was so sure that eBay would understand that I was right after reviewing the case. But instead, eBay agent made the dumbest decision I've ever seen and told them the buyer that he could return the book and get refund. I am sure that eBay doesn't hire idiots on purpose. Probably this agent made the decision without reviewing the case at all. See the attached pictures. One of them came from buyer stating that it isn't original due to gray highlights. Other picture is my response showing a sample page from Amazon.com. And yes Dear eBay agent, you are that stupid!!!

EBAY SHILL BIDDING COMPLAINTS - 19 ITEMS I SUPPOSEDLY PURCHASED INITIATED JUNE 23, 2017. STILL NO RESOLUTION JULY 31, 2017. When I suddenly won 13 items, all of which I had been outbid on, I knew something was wrong. I called and spoke to a woman who told me this was "shill bidding," a term I had never ever heard before. Since June 23, 2017, I have called eBay at 866-540-3229 on three separate occasions spending over ten hours on the phone reporting eBay sellers in India who are consistently using shill bidding to inflate the price that buyers pay. On June 23rd, they did this to me on 13 items. In less than a week, they claimed I won six other items that I had been outbid on. I have told the buyers that shill bidding is illegal. I told them I had already discussed this at length with eBay.

Still these sellers intimidated me by issuing unpaid item reports. I reluctantly paid for three items because I could no longer bid on anything. Although I was charged $15+ on each of these necklaces, if the shill bids are removed, I won most of them for $0.99. EBay still has not responded. EBay refuses to force the seller to sell me the necklace at the true price. And why should they? EBay benefits financially from shill bidding! My next plan is to contact PayPal. This has happened on 19 items in 38 days!! ALSO, ONCE A BUYER LISTS AN UNPAID ITEM REPORT YOU CAN NO LONGER LEAVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK.

Ignorantly, I was holding off leaving negative feedback thinking eBay would resolve this obvious policy violation - All of the item number have been given to eBay twice. Start with PayPal transaction number Express Checkout Payment Sent (Unique Transaction ID # **); Australian Triplet Opal & Red Garnet 925 Sterling Silver Necklace 16- 18" Item # 222547774450.

Sold an item which the buyer decided did not meet his expectations. I agreed to accept return under my seller's listing policy of 14 days purchase refund, "no refund of shipping". He wanted to resolve as a "Not as Described" return. We agreed to disagree and send to the Resolution center for processing. An automation error sent this as a return accepted as "Not as Described". I contacted EBAY and they reviewed the case and determined that this should be handled as a return under my sellers listing. They told me, and sent an email to confirm their decision and state that they would contact the buyer to have him return the item. The next day I received an automated email indicating that I needed to send shipping expense to buyer and failure to do so would result in the buyer keeping the item and receiving a refund of purchase and shipping paid to me.

I immediately called EBAY and spoke to a Service Rep who reviewed the case and assured me that they would handle based upon the initial review and decision. I was told this would have to be reviewed and corrected by a supervisor. Supervisor called and informed me that he was re-reversing the decisions and that my case would be handled as a "Not as Described" case. I asked to have a manager call me to explain this mess and why it never made it to the Resolution Center where I could have provided additional documentation. No explanation was given as to what basis the multiple changes of judgement or how I was to proceed. I have not heard from any "manager" about this case and have sent the return shipping money to the buyer before EBAY refunds the purchase price, shipping expenses back to the buyer and tells them to keep the item.

I joined eBay about one month ago. I obtained a PayPal account and everything. So whenever I had the chance, due to my busy schedule, I would take photos and post things until I reached my limit of five items that totaled less than $500, which was my max limit. In the meantime I bid on a few items and bought some on the purchase now format. I was given two coupons which I used and was having fun with this new idea of buying online. Then the day after I posted my fifth item I received an e-mail saying my account was suspended. Mind you that no one ever purchased anything from me.

I called up customer service immediately and was told I was suspended without appeal. Their reason was that the items I posted were high risk items; my sisters purse, an old model train locomotive, a roku 3 my mom bought and never used because she got Netflix, a used computer game card that was from my brother-in-law's computer, and a new suit jacket that I purchased at a second hand store at a good deal and wanted to flip. Isn't this what eBay people do? Anyways they closed my account permanently even when there was no foul play. They said that I was posting risky items. There was never a spot in their page that said anything about not being able to post items of the nature. The item that I won a bid on was paid within 3 minutes through my PayPal account as well as the other item I was able purchase in the buy now category.

What I'm getting at is that eBay is unfair and doesn't give people a chance, even when they haven't done a single thing wrong. My character is on the line because I had told lots of people to check out this little store I was trying to legitimately build up without any malicious intent. eBay has left me feeling low and dirty, I wish I would never have tried to deal with them and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. If nothing more than because of the way they can make a person feel so low. Companies have to look out for their interest which I understand but they should have a disclaimer warning people that they can be tossed out at their wish, and if they do MAKE IT EASY TO FIND, then I wouldn't feel so beat down.

They really could care less about the little seller who made eBay what is is today. I will never shop there again, it's Amazon all the way, where you're treated fair, with respect. After several phone call explaining why I had problems, trying to solve them, they never helped me. Just tried to have a reason to stop me from selling as they have gone (China) and new items, not the way it was! After selling since 2002 with 3,449 positive wonderful feedback selling fun items and men's clothing with several repeat customers and they never took the time to help me to hear me to hear my concerns!

I'm a Christian grandma who just wanted to make extra money for her kids, now I'm left with an investment of over five hundred items with nowhere to sell as of yet. They made mistakes by marking or red flagging my store when I was on vacation and marked it against me, so I had to call spend one hour on the phone. You hear, "Yeah everyone is calling. We have a problem with that"! Really??? May I give you a negative! You lost several buyers. Several sellers are moving elsewhere. You're going to fall very soon. I can only imagine as the way you treat the ones who make you $$$ is embarrassing and unjust, unfair.

Every now and again my card is declined and I have to transfer money over to that account to continue using my debit card (security feature to avoid $34 fee for NSF), no big deal. I do this every couple of days. However, for the past couple weeks when my card is declined my eBay site crashes and is empty. I have no history, no purchases, no nothing. It has taken me hours on the phone with them to try to figure it out and still they cant. They dont know why. They ask me to send screen shots, wait 24 hours, call back and yet all it takes is a transaction to be cancelled and it starts all over again. Why is this site so unstable?

I agreed to refund. PayPal froze my account to the sales value and postage return label. The returns label was issued and I received the phone. I topped up the PayPal account and the buyer was automatically sent a refund! (This is common practice look at other forums.)

The phone had clearly been tampered with and would not now accept any sim card! I phoned eBay twice, they said not their problem, it is a PayPal problem. Phoned PayPal, they said not their problem it is eBay problem. Phone back eBay Customer services claims section, they said that I had issued the refund - I honestly did no such thing! They cannot help after the case has been closed! I spent 3 hours on the phone speaking to so called managers but to no avail, they just told me lies after lies. eBay? Stay clear!!!
