Several times, when I have proceeded to the check-out screen, items will be included in my order that I did not order. Once there was a camera at $299, and today there was a karoke machine listed. I generally click this pane quickly, and almost didn't check this. The first time I thought I'd accidently added the camera (although I hadn't been looking at them), but this time their addition of the karoke machine was way out of line. This is not something I'd ever order.
This practice is the same as dropping items in a person's grocery basket when they're not looking. It's downright dishonest and manipulative. Thanks for listening.
Almost bought hundreds of dollars of merchandise I didn't want.

I purchased a camera and case from Amazon.com on Thu 2 Nov 06. I used my Amazon Prime membership to purchase discounted one-day shipping for $8. On their webpages, up to and including the last page before I clicked the complete order button, Amazon.com repeatedly stated that the items were in-stock, ready to be shipped that day, and would arrive on Fri 3 Nov 06. The order confirmation didn't show up for some hours after the order was placed.
When the package didn't show up the next day, I checked my email, and saw the delayed confirmation, saying the package's estimated ship date was 6 Nov, 4 days after I placed the order. I contacted customer service, and received a litany of excuses, including The item is in stock, but not at the fulfillment center nearest your home. The item had to be requisitioned from another site and sent to the requisition center near you.
Then they tried to suggest that I did not order the item on Thursday after all, but later. When I asked them why they thought it was ok to ship a one-day shipping item 4 days after the promised date, they said first that shipping dates are estimated, and then One day shipping means the item leaves our warehouse within one day.
When I countered that it had indeed been a day, but that I'd received no shipment confirmation and that there was no shipping information on my account page in amazon.com, I was put on hold for several minutes. When the CSR returned, she said that I did have a shipping confirmation showing the item had shipped that day (Fri 3 Nov 06). And what a surprise! Several minutes later, a shipping confirmation showed up in my email, and an equivalent confirmation appeared in my amazon.com account page. However, the UPS tracking number that was included had no associated data when I tracked it at UPS.com.

Unfortunately, I do not have an address nor a telephone number for Amazon.com. They don't give that information out since they don't want to deal with customers. I had purchased oriental shades and returned them in September. On October 3rd, the oriental furniture company sent the refund to Amazon.com to refund me. It was through the Amazon.com that I had made the purchase from Oriental furniture company.
I had emailed Amazon 20 times asking for the refund and no response. I had emailed and called the oriental furniture company and they tried to contact Amazon.com but got no where. They cannot refund me since I purchased through Amazon.com and Amazon.com has all my information such as credit card number.

On Sept 19th, I purchased an Elmo TMX doll through Amazon.com. I have learned today, a week later that they do not have the toy in stock. This is false advertising!!! Becuase they chose to tell me a week after I 'purchased' this doll, I have no chance of buying it anywhere else. It is sold out.

Amazon.com sucks! I purchased a textbook for school in June 2006 but never got it. I emailed customer services through Amazon.com at least three times in a month, but I have never got any responses. I called the customer service number, and they said their investigation specialist would get back to me in 3-5 business days. Liar -- no one ever contact me from Amazon. Meanwhile, my account is in frozen stage.
Because I really needed the book and Amazon.com had the best deal, I created a new account to buy the same textbook and even got the confirmation in email this time. Two weeks later, I still have not received the book so I emailed and called Amazon.com. It was the same deal --- our customer service would contact you in 3-5 business days. Now is September, more than three months after I made the purchases, no one from Amazon.com ever contact me.
I want to cancel my orders but I can't. Amazon.com freezes my two accounts. If I tried to shop with other companies have relationship with them, same issue happened. Now, my Target account is frozen too. Is it because I'm too small in their sales percentage, these big companies can choose to ignore me?

My complaints is in regards to amazon.com and its free shipping policy. They entice customers to their web by offering free shipping of orders of $25 or more. However, what most customers don't know is that when they use the free shipping option, amazon deliberately delays sending their product, no doubt to deter people from using free shipping in the future.
Some of my students have used amazon.com without realizing the extended shipping that would result. They did not receive their books until halfway through the semester, obviously causing a very negative situation in their classes. Amazon.com should not penalize customers who choose to use the free shipping option.

Because Amazon.com's book inventory is so limited, I listed my item under the closest match and wrote a warning disclaimer that the book was the SAME edition but just paperback, and I also, included the ISBN of the book. The buyer claimed not recalling having seen the note written under description and filed a refund claim. I sent Amazon.com proof that it wasn't my fault but they denied my claim and I had to refund the buyer.
I agreed to refund the buyer upon the return of the purchased item. The buyer stopped responding to my emails, so I assumed that she changed her mind and decided to keep the item/book, so I let go of the situation. However, Amazon.com said that I have a pending claim, so I contacted them explaining the situation listed exactly as above. They replied to me saying that the buyer did not have to return the item but I had to refund the money anyway. I can't get any co-operation from the buyer.
The CSR, Brian L., told me that this was the policy of the Amazon's A to Z guarantee. I visited the link he provided me and such policy is not mentioned anywhere.
Now I am without a book to resell and at loss of $80. This is not the first time I have experienced problems with Amazon.com, but this was the worst situation.

In January 2005 I ordered a set of DVDs on the internet from DVD Video Direct through Amazon.com's website. The cost of the DVDs was $84.74. A few days later I received an x-rated DVD, which I was very angry and upset at receiving, which I duly returned.
I never received my set of DVDs nor did I get a refund. Amazon said it's not their responsiblity and the company - DVD Video Direct - said they sent the DVDs to me.

We ordered 2 Aiptek Video phones and have returned both. One was defective and we have received credit for it. The second would not work without the first and was sent back December 17th. We still have not received credit for this second return. I sent an email January 18th and the response email said it takes two weeks from receipt of the return to process it. Two subsequent emails have been sent to Amazon dated 1/30 and 2/20. There have been no responses to these inquiries.
There is a website we check our orders on. It shows the credit for the first phone, but nothing on the second phone. We had already paid the credit card bill on the second phone before we found out we could not use it. The cost of the video phone was $489.00.
We had to order two new video phones from another company. Both phones were of higher quality and worked fine. The consequence is that we are out the $489 paid for the returned phone. Our faith in Amazon.com's business has been completely shattered and they have lost our business along with that of anyone else we have any say over.
Evelyn should have disputed the amount with her credit card company.

I called customer service at 3:45 pm and spoke with Patty, who issued a replacement order. When this copy arrived, it was in good condition and I returned the first copy to Amazon.com on January 12, 2002. On February 3, 2002, my wife ordered two more copies of Wayne's book from Amazon.com, one of which was intended to be a Valentine's Day gift for a friend.
Since they had only one book in stock, they shipped that one and back-ordered the second one. The book arrived today, February 12, 2002. When I unpacked the box and opened the book, I noticed that there was black powder on my hands! My wife said, "They've shipped the same book back!" I thought, "No, they wouldn't do that." But I examined the book and saw that the spine was broken and that the breaks exactly matched those from the book that I had returned!! I checked pages 70, 90, 102, 130, 134, 194, & 246 -- sure enough, those pages were defective, along with numerous others.
Amazon.com had simply re-stocked the book that I had returned -- AND SENT IT BACK TO MY WIFE!!! I telephoned Amazon.com tonight (02/12/02) at approximately 6:51 pm and after several minutes on hold spoke initially with Tyler, who asked me to hold again while he transferred my call. I was connected with Stephanie at approximately 7:05 pm who was puzzled that the call was transferred to her. She then connected me with Robin at approximately 7:10 pm. I went through the story for a third time!
Robin told me that she would send me a Return Authorization Label to ship the book back again, asking if there were anything else she might do. I said, "Yes, you can cancel the order from February 3rd, credit my wife's account, and issue a [good-will] credit of an additional $10.00 for putting us through this kind of trouble. She asked me to put my wife on the phone for verification, and when my wife told her the same thing, she was transferred (AGAIN!!) to a CS rep by the name of Chris at approximately 7:19 pm. My wife went through the spiel (YET AGAIN!!!) for Chris, who then said that she must speak with a supervisor.
At approximately 7:25 pm Josh got on the phone with my wife. He claimed to be the "last stop": "The buck stops here." He told her that "as soon as the book was returned" he would issue a credit. My wife told him that this wasn't good enough; she wanted immediate credit since this was not any fault of hers (or mine) and could well use the credit for another order in the meantime. When I could see that he was beginning to agitate my wife, I got on the extension and heard him say that it was not very likely that this was the same book. I became furious that he would call me a liar in this manner! I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THIS WAS THE IDENTICAL BOOK THAT WAS RETURNED TO AMAZON.COM ON 01/12/02!!
Josh still refused to issue immediate credit and again practically called me a liar by saying that this couldn't possibly be the same book. He was so tactless and undiplomatic that both my wife and I became furious, she hanging up on him while I continued to attempt a fair and just settlement. Josh was adamant in his refusal to issue an immediate credit, so I informed him that I would be publicizing this matter via the Internet. I, too, hung up on him (at approximately 7:32 pm) before I became even more angry. To make certain that the book isn't shipped out again -- this time to an unsuspecting customer -- I marked the cover front and back with black marker: "defective"! The book will be returned as soon as the RA Label is received.

This holiday season I made a very special purchase, a gift for my father. A DVD movie. Amazon shipped it on December 6th through some weird processing and mailing service. The package didn't arrive until December 20th. But by that time I had already sent several e-mails to Amazon begging for a tracking number. Finally as Christmas neared they admitted it was undoubtedly lost and offered to mail me a new one 2nd-day air. Which would arrive on December 26th at the earliest. Not overnight as would've been the only acceptable method at this time. So I told them to cancel the whole thing and I went to Tower and bought one for only 25 cents more than Amazon.com, S&H included.
I spent three weeks waiting and waiting and listening for the doorbell. Sending endless e-mails and being disappointed with each useless reply. Wondering if I would have to make a special embarrassing trip outside just to have a simple gift to give my father for once.

Thats nice since there web site shows 7-21 days for a package to get here. I have also ordered stuff from other companies in Germany and had my package in less than 10 days. What gives with this company?

One fellow shrugged it off and even suggested that they were not very important gifts and perhaps I'd better find a backup plan. The woman who responded to the same e-mail actually went ahead and upgraded my shipment to 2-day air. I've waited all day for confirmation of my shipment via e-mail and have recieved none as of 9:00 this evening. One of the e-mails actually included their phone number so I called and spoke with an "order specialist" who did little to reassure me. He said the order was slated to be shipped soon and he would get back with me later this evening to let me know if it went out. Well...I guess he must have gotten off work some time ago because I'm still waiting.
Of course, my credit card has been charged, I can no longer cancel the order and I'm now looking at gifts that will be arriving AFTER Christmas despite 2-day air shipment. That's too bad as I live far from my family and don't see them often. Gifts that arrive for them after I've left for the holidays will only serve as bitter reminders of a once wonderful company that has turned sour for me.
I do not plan to deal with Amazon.com after this. It will be unfortunate having to give IOUs to my cynical, teenaged nieces and nephew for Christmas. I am very disappointed in Amazon. I feel as if they lied to me--I feel very let down. Oh, and they offered virtually no compensation for the aggravation I've had to endure this holiday season. They've lost another customer. It's hard enough trying to find the darn place to e-mail the customer service department but just try to find a phone number somewhere--it's not listed anywhere on their website. Here it is! 1-800-201-7575
I'm seeing red and it's not a Christmass-y red. I've never felt so frustrated and aggravated with this company before. I'm busy and have a lot to do before the holidays--not to mention going to work everyday, including Sunday. It burns me that I now probably must find the time to shop for 3 additional gifts that should have landed on my doorstep yesterday. I just feel angry and betrayed.

I went to find something else, since they still have my money, and found something that appeared to be available because it stated that it "usually ships within 24 hours". I clicked on it. Checked back later that day, the website stated that the item wouldn't be shipped until the 26th and wouldn't be delivered until the 29th to the 5th of January. I am just about in tears over this. I write them back demanding my money to be credited to my VISA checkcard immediately. They write me back telling me they can't do that and that for the "inconvenience", they would give me $5 towards my next purchase through Amazon and my money would still be kept in my "account" until I request a refund. FUNNY, I THOUGHT I ALREADY DID!
I have never had this happen to me before while shopping online. I feel like I'm ready to burst. I don't have a lot of time to shop because I work full time and go to school full time. I just want my money back so I can use it to actually buy something for this person for Christmas. I'm on a tight budget, as everyone seems to be this year, and these people seem to think that it's not that big of a deal. I'm out $39.72 over this.
