We ordered graduation announcements well in advance of the date. The first order came out with two large white borders on the side and bottom of the announcement, making the pictures grainy and unrecognizable. Our first call to customer service was met with frustration from someone who couldn’t speak recognizable English. We called again and got someone who was willing to help and said they would resolve and rush the new announcements. They weren’t rushed, it took longer to get the replacements now just days from graduation. The new announcements were exactly the same as the ones that were originally sent, unusable. Calling to ask for a refund was met again with a representative that was not understandable. Do not trust this company to come through for you with a product for a special occasion, you will be disappointed.

I’ve been making dozens of photo books every year on Shutterfly for 15 plus years. I like to create my own books and have thoroughly enjoyed the process of making them. It’s been a form of relaxation for me. But the new photo book format on Shutterfly is a nightmare. I’ve been working with it for months and it’s not a matter of not learning a new system. It’s just flat out a bad change in almost every regard. They have made the creative process very cumbersome and not at all user friendly; changed or taken away key features that made it easy and efficient to work with; and bogged down the site that makes it so slow that it now takes me 10 times longer or more to make the books. I have been regularly submitting feedback on their site and have read the complaints of others, but it appears to be falling on deaf ears at Shutterfly. Anyone out there have a different photo book site they know of that I could consider?

I have been using Shutterfly for many years, mostly for photo prints, but also for several different products. I have purchased wine stoppers, mouse pads, calendars, mugs - you name it. Each time I was able to easily upload photos and create my project. I uploaded 90 photos on April 16 with no problem. On May 4 I uploaded another bunch but was unable to scroll through the photos to edit them. I can see the first photo and edit it, but when I attempt to scroll down the screen gets jumpy, and all I can ever get to is the first photo. The chat support was less than helpful, so I called and talked to a human.

After following all her suggestions with no improvement, she said she would forward the issue to engineering. To date I have heard nothing. I cleaned out all browser cookies, turned off my VPN, rebooted my computer more times than I can count, tried to access my photos from a different computer, even created a new Shutterfly account - still have the same problem. Anyone else having this issue?

I have been making a photobook on Shutterfly for 2 grandchildren for their birthday every year since they were born. They are now teenagers. I started one this week for my grandson's birthday. I cannot believe what a struggle I'm having doing what used to be so easy!! I see I'm not the only one! I'm giving up and trying a different company that has been recommended.

I have used Shutterfly since 2013 to make photo books and cards. The most recent upgrade is very frustrating. I finally finished a recent photo book and and left it on the site for two weeks while on vacation. When I returned to proof and order it, I found that half the photos had either disappeared or been moved to other places in the book. Layouts had shifted. While text was still there, spacing had changed. I called customer service to see if they could find the old version, and the agent did try to help, but had no luck. He did give me a $30 discount, which hardly makes up for the hours I spent redoing the book.

In addition, they removed the separate text entry function, so it is difficult to enter text. Backgrounds, fonts, and stickers that are actually in the book don't show up on the "in the book" section. I'm with other reviewers who say "what were they thinking?" Twice in the last two days I have downloaded a new photo, and the site has crashed. I hope that Shutterfly is reading these reviews and will be fixing the tons of problems their new approach has created. I gave it a two, because a couple of the new options are good, if they worked!

I have literally made more than 150 phonebooks on Shutterfly over the years. I've even recommended SF to friends. You have ruined a system that worked well. I hate the new update with the white hot intensity of 1 billion flash bulbs. It is clunky and difficult to use compared to the previous (and perfect) version. What on earth were you guys thinking? I imagine the meetings... Marketing: The current site is working great. Very few complaints. I/T: But we can make it run faster on the backend. Marketing: That sounds great? How? I/T: We remove 35% of the functionality, don't preserve our customers' customer settings and saved items, and get rid of the tools our super-users (and most loyal customer) use. Marketing: It sounds much worse than what we have. I/T: It will suck, but it will run faster on the backend. Marketing: Do it.

I have used Shutterfly for the last 13-14 years, created 55 projects, and loved it. Tonight I was working on my granddaughter's yearly book and was totally disgusted. What use to be an intuitive site is now a chore to work through and figure out how to do functions that were once so easy and enjoyable. As far as the background, sticker and frame choices they deleted all the ones I love and don't have as many choices. I was very sad because I've taught so many friends how to use Shutterfly so they could create their own books and calendars which they enjoyed immensely. If they are anything like me they will look for an alternative. I'm very sad, not only for myself but for Shutterfly and what they were thinking when they thought they were fixing something that wasn't broken. Live and learn I guess.

I'm not sure why such bad reviews. I order some customer tumblers for a girls trip. Great quality cups. The cups came and were missing some text. I contacted support, sent a pic of what I received and they agreed to remake them and expedite ship them to me at $0 cost. I could not be more happy with customer service experience.

I have been using Shutterfly for years, I make my own book designs. Some of the photo layouts are no longer available. When arranging photos I no longer see a swap option. I delete a photo to rearrange and the site automatically changes the layout to match the number of photos. Very frustrating! I hope you are reading customer reviews to address some of the issues with the new updates.

I, too, am a long-timer user of Shutterfly--300+ projects over many years from albums to calendars to blankets, etc., all customized. And I, too, am completely disgusted by Shutterfly's attempts to "modernize." In the past Shutterfly has made many positive, and gradual, changes. Until now! Relying on "experts," without regard to customer input, it almost feels like Shutterfly is trying to drive us long-time users away. And all to attract whom?! Like so many others, I've experienced problems at every turn. Even uploading photos is hit and miss. I've struggled for days to figure this all out, only becoming more frustrated. When I turned to Shutterfly's AI Assistant, I got little help. But the capper came when I was informed I'd reached my AI limit and would now have to "subscribe" for any additional help. Talk about adding insult to injury! Way to welcome devoted customers to your new and improved site, Shutterfly!
