Terrible service; don’t bother with this business. I’ve been a customer for many years; I’m having the worst experience this year, 2020. The mail system and Covid cannot be blamed for me not receiving my Christmas cards ordered on November 30. Today is December 21, and the cards are nowhere in sight. Customer service is not sympathetic to the situation. I won’t get my cards in time to mail them & have them be received by Christmas! Two orders I placed 11 and 12 days later than this order arrived last week! After 5 phone calls to customer service over the past week, I am extremely disappointed and frustrated dealing with Shutterfly personnel.

Today I requested a refund and was told that I must wait until after the holidays to request a refund. Of course that would mean spending another half hour on the phone with him. It looks like they think no matter when I receive the cards, that I will mail them out, even if it’s after the holidays! They are not admitting there is a problem with my order, and they are not willing to resolve it to make me a satisfied customer. In my opinion, they should refund my money regardless of when the cards finally arrive; it’s too late. Their business failed in supplying their merchandise as expected. If & when I receive the cards, I will send them back and ask for my refund of almost $200. Poor customer service; this company is not standing behind their happy customer policy. I am definitely upset about the situation.

I ordered Christmas cards November 29th. Shutterfly still has not shipped my cards as of December 21st. At this point, my Christmas cards obviously won't make it out to my friends and family by Christmas. Shutterfly customer service refuses to offer any explanation for the delay, any relief for missing my Christmas deadline. They have the audacity to claim that my order will arrive in time for me to use - therefore no refund or credit. I'm not allowed to cancel the order. Buy a calendar Shutterfly! Christmas is December 25th, my cards will not arrive in time for me to use them. You're dead to me Shutterfly!

I purchased something on 1211. Paid extra shipping to receive it by 12:19. Never received my item. Try to get in touch with customer service, waited on hold for 2 hours to speak to someone that didn't know when I would get my order. Constantly repeated the same answer. Tell them just to cancel the order. They wouldn't cancel it. Now at this time I received an email stating my order has finally shipped. After going back online again last night telling them I didn't want to order anymore because I went to a different company and order the same thing. The business is terrible. How do you go from, "It hasn't shipped yet. We're having problems transferring the photo," to all of a sudden it shipped. I will never order from this company again. Worst customer service I've ever dealt with in all my years of ordering things.

I tried calling multiple times only to be told “It’s been shipped". No cancellations/no refunds. So even though I paid for shipping I now will have to see family empty handed and I will have to pay for shipping their gift to them. I also had other gifts shipped to family members out of state and they have not received theirs yet either. Their Customer service is horrible. UPS should be ashamed to commingle their shipments with the unreliable postal service and call it Postal Innovations. What a joke. Shutterfly has lost me as a customer in the future. Trying to contact Shutterfly is impossible. Piss poor customer service.

Like several other reviewers have stated, I ordered Xmas cards on 11/29. I ordered a day before they offered free shipping and paid full shipping charges. I spent about $70 on 2 orders totaling 35 cards. Although Shutterfly stated the delivery would be between 12/4 and 12/9, they have not yet arrived. They can't state when they will arrive. In viewing tracking, they are currently waiting in Indiana. If I had known that it would take over 3 weeks to receive, I would never have ordered them. Now, even if they are received tomorrow, I will still not be able to send to recipients to arrive before X-Mas.

Until these orders, I have been very happy with Shutterfly. However, I will NEVER order X-Mas cards from them again. To say I am disappointed, is to put it mildly. I feel like crying. If I ever do receive these cards, I am going to look like a complete idiot sending them out late. I have noticed many similar complaints. Instead of going with USPS Value shipping, why don't you pay a little more and get a better shipping company? You are going to lose many customers. Stop blaming this on Covid. We no longer believe you.

I’ve used two years in a row for Christmas cards. The process is easy. But. First year, I needed additional cards. I reordered and the order was lost. I was fully refunded and order was replaced. All good result, just annoying. This year ordered again. Envelopes came unconstructed. No adhesive on sides. For $200. Quss as city unacceptable. Real complaint is customer service is totally inaccessible. Waited in line (199 in-line) for a chat rep. Then when finally got rep they asked me to download picture to my account. When I did that...no quick way.. They had already closed me out. With message of “please reach back if you have any other issue”. Really? Won’t use again. Do not recommend. These Christmas Cards, which were ordered wayyy back in November, has been lost since Dec 6. These are STILL advertised with discounts, driving sales, when they have no intent on delivering before Christmas. Even if they arrived TODAY, the cards won't arrive to their destination on time now. My wife ordered these, and got a notice on Dec 6 that UPS was delivering the next day. Dec 7 arrived, and nothing arrived. She called on Dec 8, and all the way up until the 12th. She ended up in tears due to how Shutterfly Support was dismissing her, ignoring her.

So, I got involved. I ask for a manager on the phone, and they drop the call last night, after a 312 minute hold for the first agent - they were closed when they dropped the call. Convenient, no?! Their chat support dropped me twice. It gets worse. They THEN GO BEHIND MY BACK, and went back to my wife on Facebook message. I'm sorry, you do NOT get to make my wife cry, and then go back to her when you figure out her husband is not going to let that behavior fly. As far as I'm concerned, this is a SCAM. Chargeback in progress, and I am not going away now.

To expect to receive it between 12.14 and 12.16. On 12.15 I called Shutterfly to see what the status was. Was told there must have been some type of mistake and I would need to cancel and reorder. Spoke to a supervisor and she promised I would have it 12.18. Next day received a notice my order would be delayed. Two days later was told product was shipped and would arrive on 12.21 Now I am told told maybe 12.23. Given the mistakes they made you would think they would have sent it priority. Nope. UPS ground. What a joke.

The thing Shutterfly needs to remember, they ain't the only game in town. Plenty of sites can do what they do. It is customer service that makes the difference. Last word, sometimes they do as promised. Other times they are out to prefect horrible service. Looks like they achieved their goal. I have no need to revisit this slacker company. As mentioned, there are other companies doing a far better job.

I have used Shutterfly in that past and had no complaints. They were efficient and had helpful customer service. June 2019 they were purchased by Apollo Global Management. This is the first I’ve used them since the change and I was nothing short of shell shocked by the change, none for the better.

    1. Customer Service- Good luck because there isn’t any. If you want to speak to a person, you will be sent down rabbit hole after rabbit hole; one international call center to the next “supervisor” and ultimately be given an email address to use. You will take the time to write out your concerns in an email but it will bounce back as “no reply” and refer you back to the “chat” link. You will resign yourself to the written “chat”. During my “chat” exchange with “Lamar” I was told shipping would be changed to expedited with a promise to email me the next day to let me know the final delivery date. Needless to say I never heard from him again and that was a week ago. I just went to the website to check my order status and it is still listed as January. Because it was a “chat” on their end, you will have no record of the exchange. Take a screen shot.

    2. Delivery- I ordered a Christmas gift on December 7. There was no indication that this would be a problem since the website was- and still is as of today- advertising Christmas gifts. I only realized it was a problem when I received my confirmation email. The delivery date was January. They should be upfront before you spend the time creating a gift. With my first attempt with customer service, I was told that the delivery date was stated during the order process. I assumed I just didn’t notice it. After being told other misleading comments, I went back to the website and made a mock purchase all the way up to the last payment step before actually paying and it NEVER stated a delivery date. There was a screen that said if it was time sensitive consider paying for rushed shipping but never gave a delivery date nor clearly stated if you wanted Christmas delivery to upgrade your shipping.

    3. Misleading- the tactics to frustrate the customer, to outright lie to you (see above) was beyond anything I’ve experienced with a company bar none.

I get covid created new problems and challenges, I get that this years on-line orders are significantly increased, I get that I might be disappointed because I didn’t start earlier but JUST TELL ME BEFORE I ORDER! Then when I am disappointed, DONT LIE TO ME about what you will do to remedy. Just tell me the truth- you don’t care about your customers, you only care that they hit the “purchase” link.

Nice to know you Shutterfly. It was fun in the beginning but we are breaking up.

I ordered my holiday cards on 11/30. The Company promised delivery by 12/14. I expected some delay, due to Covid, maybe a few days. Now they have changed status to "on its way" and can't give me a definite date, just "before Christmas" which is completely useless when the product is holiday cards that I wanted to arrive at the addressee's locations before Christmas.

I've been chatting with them for near an hour, and they keep giving me a canned response that in this "unusual year they won't be issuing refunds and can't really do anything about delays." None of the other companies I've ordered from have had this problem, yes there are delays and yes that's totally understandable but here I think Shutterfly knew it couldn't meet the demand but wanted the revenue anyway, so they lied to customers to get them to buy their product. Note that their chat queue is over 100 people and their phone wait is over 2 hours, so I imagine this is not just a "me" issue.

I'm extremely disappointed and won't be using them again, their competitors do equal if not better work and deliver timely. I know that during these times, late cards are not a big deal, and I'm grateful for the privilege to even be able to afford such things. I think however that Shutterfly could do a better job with this situation, admit they are in the wrong and issue refunds.

I have used other online services similar to Shutterfly that were a much more enjoyable experience in editing photos, projects, and memory books. Shutterfly is definitely lacking in editing features and it makes the experience feel like so much more work than it should be. Even just simple features for photo editing - like it would be nice to be able to straighten a photo within a Shutterfly project, but that is non-existent.

After having a frustrating experience editing and creating all of my projects, I then start adding to my cart with the understanding that I would be able to use the coupons my mom earned through Monopoly. I did read the coupons prior to this - it stated that free shipping couldn't be applied with the coupons and I was fine with that. It also did state that the promotion could be used only one time per account/billing address - however, this wording is not exactly clear because when I have multiple unique promotional codes, that gives the impression that I should be able to use each once. While I did misunderstand this restriction it makes little sense to me anyways. It is not like these coupons were free. Money was spent to receive them and then we weren't even able to use all of the coupons that were earned.

When I messaged Shutterfly to clarify the coupons, since I was initially confused, they actually said that I'm meant to share the coupon codes with other Shutterfly users and that makes absolutely NO sense. On top of this, the people I would most likely share the coupons with are others in my household and they have the same billing address as me which makes the coupons invalid. I have placed my order but have not received my items yet. I anticipate that the quality will be good enough, as past items with Shutterfly have been. However, I think it is very unlikely that I will use it again.

I was very happy when I received my son's graduation announcements. They were easy to design, and the shipping was fast. Quality is good (one thing I would say is the paper is black but I can see the brown edging. I would have used black paper with black edges).... I messed up & forgot to add the return address. I called expecting for them to send the envelopes but they resent me the entire package with the prestamped addresses right away... I just paid for the shipping.

$40 for shipping 200 4x6 prints. Ridiculous. I can print from higher quality labs where photos are a little more expensive that make up for it in their low shipping rates. Shutterfly makes you go through the process of uploading and placing order only to surprise you in the end. That's why they make it so laborious to place an order, so that in the end you're like "well, I already spent all this time, I might as well just pay up".

I then received an update on May 6th saying there was a delay. I had to wait on hold for 50 minutes and customer service stated that they were sorry and were going to refund shipping. That doesn’t help me at all. This is my mother’s birthday and Mother’s Day gift. I would have never ordered if I knew it was going to be late. Uploading is either incomplete, haltingly slow or freezes altogether. I thought perhaps it was the age of my PC or the data speed available on my network but that had nothing to do with it, as SNAPFISH worked like a charm my very first try. Even trying to do smaller projects of 20 photos or less to a standard photobook was extremely frustrating. I am fairly efficient from a technical perspective and this website is BY FAR the worst I've worked with in YEARS. Very disappointing.

This is honestly one of the worst customer experiences I've experienced in SUCH a long time. Never before in my life have I had such an experience that has literally made me NEVER want to spend money at your business again and it would make me tell ANYONE who was interested in photo business NOT to shop with your business. And from reading other reviews online I'm sure that people who do their research before buying are being turned away by your terrible customer service. The end of my order says "100% HAPPINESS GUARANTEED".

    1) If you can't make a quality product then don't display quality products.

    2) Don't guarantee customer service if you can't provide customer service.

Don't display a clear product and then send a product with an unrecognizable image: you can't even see the people's facial features. And when a customer reaches out for your "100% happiness guarantee" don't be a condescending ** and tell them "pick a different image or you'll have the same problem." Should have told me "pick a different business or you'll have the same problem." What a joke. Also they've been removing my comments with the photos of their terrible products. Don't shop with this business.

I love the prints and mothers day card that I ordered. Good quality. My issue is that they double charged me and insist that it never happened. I've even sent proof. They gave me this crappy excuse about how they "hold the funds until it's shipped so it will show on my statement twice". My bank literally shows the about $90 being taken out twice. It shows the deduction from my total. Aka the money isn't there. Twice. There is no mistaking that. 180 dollars gone from my account. But it "didn't happen". They refuse to give me a refund for the second charge and I am beyond furious. Nobody has that kind of money to spare at this time.

Now I will have to sit on hold with my bank tomorrow for hours and hope that they will at least try to resolve this issue. Will NOT order from here again.

I am not the one to post bad reviews ever, however this one was pretty heartbreaking and I want to help others by sharing this. My grandmother went into the hospital with only 30% of her heart working near Christmas. I ordered from Shutterfly like I always do. This time I ordered a cross with my grandmother's picture with us on there. No warnings showed up so I ordered it. It came in very blurry but I did not have time to contact Shutterfly and get a new one before Christmas, so I gave the blurry one to my dad. He cried and I promised I would get him a new one.

I called them the next day, a wonderful woman said that even she had issues with it when she ordered one herself and helped me figure it out. She said that I could contact them again before ordering to ensure the second one would be right which the person said it was perfect. I saved the chat of the person who helped me. It came in blurrier than the first one. I just called for help again when the rep and her manager refused to help me because I accidentally entered in a different email address (same name) on the order than the one on the account. I was heartbroken that after 10 years of many orders, they would not help me with something that means so much to me and my family. I am now on the search for a new company for my future orders. Hope this helps.

Clearly I was disappointed as it was a Christmas present and I had to apologize to our grandmother and explain to her what had happened. After several emails with Shutterly before Christmas they had said they’d send out a new one yet refused to reimburse me the money. As I stated it’s over a month later and still no calendar. Shame on Shutterfly's tricky language! Blame the customer. I received a 11 x 14 framed photo as a gift. Excited, I pulled the black framed photo out of the box, and was stunned at the fuzzy, low grade image, the terribly second-rate white matting, and the cheap black frame that shutterfly mailed out. When calling the contact number and speaking with two representatives, I was told basically "Too bad." Their promise "We want you to love the shutterfly." -- apparently not!...

This company does not use quality control for photos to assist customers to ensure that the best product possible is available to customers. Instead of working with the client to ensure quality, "They just accept whatever the photo is - without any cleanup of the image, nor do they make recommendations on best sizes for best results, or help the customer in any manner," they just take the photo and funds (which the price is extremely high - compared to other companies that offer this same service), with quality way beyond what shutterfly does). As the gift receiver, I am appalled that this company does not back up their product. My instructions were to just contact the gift giver. I do not want the gift giver to be embarrassed by their choice to use this inferior company. Plus, we live in different states, so I cannot just drive over and give the picture to the individual.

Thus, the shutterfly guarantee as below is worthless - and they refused to follow their own guarantee: the shutterfly guarantee "We're not happy unless you're happy. It's that simple. We get how important your memories are to you. And, we'll securely store all those photos at the same resolution at which you uploaded them. We also promise we'll never delete them (not even the embarrassing ones). " Oh, shame on shutterfly's tricky language! - that's right - put it back on the customer!!! Without quality control assistance to customers, this company cannot produce the best quality product? Recommendation: use quality control to assist customers for quality product!!!

I asked them to get a customer service rep to call me and they said they couldn’t. I called customer service and waited an hour on hold and got no resolution. I emailed and asked the guy that replied to call me. He wanted to know what the problem was and I told him it would take hours to explain all the problems and we would have to go through them page by page and so he would have to call me back on my day off.

We arranged for a time For him to call me back and he never did. I called back again and waited another half hour on hold. I spent another 20 minutes explaining the situation and all I have been through already. The guy I spoke to said he was going to escalate it to someone with a higher position. He asked me to hold and the call got dropped. He never called me back. I tried calling him back. They said he was unavailable and I left a message for him to return my call. I ordered two 8x10 prints in mid-December as Christmas gifts. They arrived damaged and bent due to a flimsy shipping envelope. My options to contact Shutterfly were limited to calling only—the chat function never worked after multiple attempts at different times and days, and the only email I found bounced back with a no-reply response. I spoke to someone in customer service (clearly outsourced to another country), and they reprinted and resent the photos at no charge. The same issue occurred: damaged photos in a flimsy envelope. Each time, I called the customer service number and was promised the same thing, but only after waiting 20–30 minutes on hold. It is now January 7th, about a month later, and the third shipment has arrived damaged, same as both times before.

I was even promised better shipping materials, but it’s exactly the same as before. Instead of wasting more of my time on hold for a set of photos that may never arrive unbent, I’ll just spend my money elsewhere in the hopes for a Christmas gift that arrives before February. Shutterfly clearly has no intention of ensuring customer satisfaction as they make it time-consuming and painful to contact them, even to resolve a simple issue, and then don’t bother to follow through competently. Which is too bad because the print quality is lovely.

Their website as of 1/6/2020 still shows my blanket as being created and not shipped. They told me the blanket was done and just waiting to get shipped. I asked them to do an overnight expedite and I was told they did not have the authority to do this. When I stated they should be better at customer service than an email at the ninth hour on my guaranteed delivery date is not good customer service at all. I also asked about what they were going to do for me with their 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. All they would do is give me my shipping costs back. I told them that is not enough as they already missed a guaranteed delivery date. At this point we will see if my blanket arrives on 1/7. I really don't think it will since they don't know how to update their website at all. Because of how shoddy their customer service was I will never use this company again. The first time I ordered from Shutterfly was for a puzzle. We are gifting our family on a trip to Europe for their Christmas present this year. We created an image with all of the trip details and ordered the puzzle so that we could give each family member a few pieces and then have them assemble the puzzle and learn about the trip together. I ordered the puzzle in November and the normal shipping method indicated a delivery by Dec 18th. It would be here in plenty of time before Dec 25th. I tracked the package until on Dec 19th the info said it was delivered to our local Post Office. I waited a few days and called Shutterfly who regurgitated the same tracking info but refunded my shipping costs because it was late.

A few days after that I went to the Post Office and learned that mine was one of many, many packages shipped by UPS Mail Innovations that was MIA. I was told that every UPS Mail Innovations palette that was received started Dec 6 came with a manifest sheet that had many items missing on the palette. They told me that UPS Mail Innovations got bogged down which caused packages to sit in warehouses but that these same packages were represented on the palette manifests resulting in Customers like us to believe our packages were heading our way. Two other family members mentioned having the same exact experience and when they checked their packages were also being shipped by UPS Mail Innovations.

I called Shutterfly with this information. They selected UPS Mail Innovations resulting in my lost package so I wanted to make them aware. I asked for a refund given that at this point there is no way the puzzle would make it to my home by Dec 25th. The customer service rep kept insisting that there was still time for me to get it but then he alternately argued that the post office had the right to take up to 7 days after they receive it from Mail Innovations to deliver it to me.

I reminded him that the package was supposed to be delivered to my house by Dec 18th and again told him that the tracking info for my package was bogus. He eventually agreed to the refund but the money still hasn't shown up on my credit card. And he kept making it be my fault because according to him I could have paid for more expensive shipping options. If I had any idea that Shutterfly used a problem delivering company I would have. But Shutterfly shouldn't use a company who provides fake tracking information. The moral of the story is not to order from Shutterfly unless they arrange for more responsible shipping methods. They are in the business of shipping memorabilia. In my case, we were left scrambling for a solution on Christmas Eve.

I've been shopping on Shutterfly since I bought my first dell computer about 15 years ago. I've been uploading my photos since then whenever I had a project in mind, which were mostly gifts, and even some items for myself. I did have a little worry about the future availability of my photos, so I did keep my own copies as well. But through the years I've discovered that all my photos are still there, intact. I also discovered that I could share albums of childhood photos with my 23 cousins, all they had to do was create an account and share the album I created as a shared album. They started uploading their own photos and like magic, now we have a collection of old photos from about 20 people all on Shutterfly.

Any of us can make photo books, pillows, puzzles, blankets, mugs, or any other photo gift from any of the photos. I think this is one of the most desirable features of the website, although it was almost by accident that I discovered it. So needless to say, I've been very happy year to year, adding photos, making holiday and birthday gifts, all of which turned out to be excellent quality. But what really turned me into a devoted future customer was an issue I had this holiday season. 2 of my 20 gifts went to the party's old address. Now I wasn't sure what happened, I could have sworn I'd changed the addresses, but with so many gifts I was working on, I couldn't be sure. I called Shutterfly to see what could be done, and they offered to remake and send the new items for free.

Unfortunately they would arrive after the holidays, but I didn't care, I was so happy to have them remade. Then today I get 2 emails saying they will arrive before Christmas! I am so pleased with this super service. I know the rep had to jump through some hoops to make that happen, and he did it after my phone call to him. In my opinion it was above and beyond. I am so grateful because A I didn't have to get aggravated and B it turned out a perfect solution!

This company is the WORST to deal with, the worst. Their products are ok but are not special and if you have ANY ISSUES AT ALL, you are screwed, because they won't help you and they don't care about keeping their guarantees at all.

Ordered a custom puzzle on 12/14/2019 and paid extra for guaranteed delivery on 12/19/2019. As of 12/19/2019, the item has not only not shipped, it also hasn’t begun production. I contacted customer service via chat and was put in a queue for over 15 minutes just to reach an agent; then was on the chat for over an hour (yes, truly over 1 hour) to only get an answer that they are really busy and it “should” arrive before Christmas but they can’t guarantee it.

Bottom line is they proactively should have notified me when they knew the item would be late. I at least might have had time to order it somewhere else so it would arrive in time. I understand things happen but the customer service or lack there of magnifies an already disappointing situation. I will not use Shutterfly again. There are too many other options out there.

My story is the same as many on here. I ordered Christmas cards and paid for expedited shipping and they were promised to be delivered on 12/18. I noticed they had not printed or shipped on Monday and contacted customer service who told me to wait. I continued to contact through the day yesterday and kept hearing "they'll arrive today, please keep waiting." Unfortunately, I also received confirmation that they had not shipped, so receiving them seemed impossible. Finally, last night one of the reps was able to speak to his manager and they found out that the cards had not printed, had not been shipped, and the earliest they could get them to me was December 27th. They are CHRISTMAS cards. The guy said I could either get them the 27th or cancel. I cancelled. So, like other families, this is the first time in ten years our family has NOT had a Christmas card to send out. No apology! No sorry! No "we'll make this right."

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. On top of that, this may be more troubling, I notice on Social Media and this site someone personally responds to each complaint and says they'll work with you to find a solution. I received this response when I publicly tweeted them and posted on Facebook. Guess what? I emailed that email address- NO RESPONSE. I sent a DM on Twitter as instructed NO RESPONSE. So, they're trying to show outwardly that they are taking your complaint seriously and in actuality doing NOTHING. Every year we spend 100's of dollars on photo books, calendars, ornaments, and holiday cards from Shutterfly. Sadly, no more. I'm done. Peace out Shutterfly, you have royally screwed up.

For some reason, they broke up the original order and still hadn't processed one of the books. The other 2 were in shipping limbo somewhere and did not go out at the time that they said they did. To say I'm disappointed in my Shutterfly xmas cards would be the understatement of the century. We thought it would be a cute idea to include a small wedding announcement/invite with our xmas cards this year. The wedding announcements had a gold 'theme' to them, so I wanted there to be some gold foil on our xmas cards. I went to shutterfly, sorted by 'gold' and found a design I liked. Of course I thought the cost per card was a bit pricey, but figured that had to be because of the gold foil. So I proceeded to check out and made payment. AFTER payment I was given an estimated arrival date of THIRTEEN days out!! What the heck!?

I've ordered 100s of items to be engraved before and had a sooner arrival date than 75 measly cards. Also, why not tell me this BEFORE I pay for the dang things? To their credit, the cards did arrive sooner than initially estimated (but it still took a week, which is laughable in the era of Amazon Prime). Well, imagine my complete and utter shock and anger when I opened up the package to find that the 'gold' part of the card is simply a printed light yellow. I could have freaking designed and printed these off myself for pennies to the dollar what I spent on these cards! What a rip off. Never, EVER again. Not only are my xmas cards ruined, but now they've ruined our wedding announcements too.

I placed an order on 12/2/19 for Christmas cards, this included paying for guaranteed delivery by Saturday 12/14/19. I also paid for their review where they touch up photos and do a final review of the card. This is said to take an additional 1 to 2 days on their website at the time of placing the order. As I was tracking the order, for some reason my order date became 12/3 rather than 12/2, so when I still had not received a proof or an update for the review process by Friday 12/6 I called into their customer service.

I was told that it would be reviewed within 2 days. I said it had already been 4 days, and needed a proof asap to meet the guaranteed delivery date. They said they would do the best they could, but not to worry because no matter what, even if they had to pay for overnight shipping, they would meet that guaranteed date. The gentleman reiterated that Guaranteed means just that, Guaranteed! Okay, the next day I did receive a proof, reviewed it and returned it immediately, and thought we were good to go.

The email showing the product had been printed came shortly after. This gives a full six days to still meet that guaranteed shipping date of 12/14, so I didn't think there should be any issues. Well, no package came on 12/14, and when checking the status, the ESTIMATED delivery is now two days after that, on 12/16. And, that is ESTIMATED, not guaranteed. I had planned to address the Christmas cards over the weekend and have them in the mail on Monday, so they would be received by Christmas.

Two days and going into the work week makes a big difference. Mistakes can happen, but this company advertises that they will do whatever is necessary to meet delivery dates and that is not remotely accurate. When I called into customer service on the 14th, with the very legitimate complaint that the guaranteed date was not being met, they pushed it back on me saying that I did not allow enough time for the review process and of course they could not guarantee a delivery on that short of notice. Placing an order on 12/2 to be delivered by 12/14 does not seem unreasonable to me. And again, the cards were printed on 12/7 and ready for shipment, they could have easily paid for overnight shipping and I would have received them before the 14th. One simple thing done differently for a satisfied customer, versus somebody that will not use them again.

Said they had to reorder and will be delivered on 12/3. Again no magnets. Called again on 12/7 and they said they would expedite order and guaranteed they would be here by 12/12. Well that didn’t happen. I finally received them on 12/13 but the quality is bad and the magnet material is really flimsy. I have ordered these two years ago and they were great.

It seems to me the right foot doesn’t know what the left foot is doing at the company. I got one customer service guy I literally could not understand and was very rude. However when the guy came on and I asked if he was the supervisor he wouldn’t admit it. I think he was just another person taking phone calls. Needless to say I was quite mad about this whole ordeal. I was suppose to get these magnets for my daughter’s 40th birthday as a very special gift to her of her children and I told them but they didn’t care. I contacted Shutterfly about this deception, and they said it was because the site-wide price was cheaper than the promotion, hence the reason the promotion being about 30% higher than without it. The web site also tells you that the items can be shipped to you or you can pick them up at one of 3 local retailers. I went to check out and chose the pick up option. I looked at the price, which should have been $5.49 and it was $23.79. I spent almost an hour on their online chat while an agent danced all around the question, never answering me directly.

I eventually learned that if you choose the pick up option you will pay whatever the local retailer wants to charge you, not the Shutterfly rate. I can't find anywhere on the website that mentions anything about this. But I did find a retailer (coincidentally one of the 3 Shutterfly uses) where I would pay $6.10 for the same prints. I found this to be very deceptive, especially the way the agent didn't seem to want to give me a direct answer. Lesson learned.... You don't need Shutterfly just to place the order, always do it directly with the retailer who will print and price the item!

Unfortunately did not purchase because a book that was $25 became $148 when I went to check out. How does this happen? Yes I added on some features that were minimum in cost but did not total to this inflated amount. Was charged as follows: 10 x 10 $10.00 10 x10 hard cover book. $29.99 22 page hardcover book $46.... looks like I am being charged over $80 dollars for basic book.

Only thing that looked remotely like cost I was told it would be is the $29.99. And if this added cost was due to adding pages to original book size why not list it as that, so person knows what they are paying for. This practice is called bait (photo book for $25) and switch (book now $80). So because base book was $80 with my add ons (glossy pages, memory plastic pouch, etc) finally cost was over $140. I have used this company in the past and other than site being user unfriendly have never had this happen before. So I will be finding another company to make my purchases in the future. After hours of laboring through the “wonky” amateurish program that did not work well at all with any of my devices, I managed to put together a photo book for my father’s memorial service. This book was intended as a gift for my mom. I reviewed very carefully the book, and upon going to check out, I selected an expedited shipping because the word “guaranteed” by a specific date appeared on the screen. After submitting my credit card and finalizing the order, “guaranteed” was then changed to “estimated” next to the delivery date. It went downhill from there.

Several days later I called the staff to ensure that the book would be delivered in time for the memorial service, and to express concern over how the photo book project now appeared on the screen when I went back to look at it. The layout and backgrounds were now changed. It looked like it was done randomly by a computer. They were a mess. Text I had written was gone from the project. A photo of my father was recropped in a way that made no sense. It was alarming. I was assured that I would get the book in time and that it would be the version of the book I created.

Long story short, the book never arrived. I had to go to the service with nothing. I called the staff again and received a vague explanation that the book was still in production, that they were working extra hard to make it look good. No details or advice was given as to when I might ever receive this book. I paid extra money to get the project done in time. I called the staff to check on it and was assured everything was ok. Simply put, the print was awful, badly exposed, out of focus and off on the color. The original jpeg, which I rechecked, is fine. The lousy print job was the fault of the service. I filed a complaint with SF but have no expectation the issue will be addressed and I will not use them again.

I ordered birthday invitations for my stepdaughter's birthday party. The first set of invites that I ordered came and there was a huge shadow at the bottom that had not been shown in the preview image and so you couldn’t see the black lettering with all the party information. So I ordered another set of invitations. This time I put all the information on the back so that it was easy to read. Well my new invites come and now the picture on the front is completely blurry. They look terrible and I’m very disappointed that I wasn’t alerted when I was making the invitations that my picture would not be the best quality. It has told me that before but it did not this time and now I’ve wasted $60 on birthday invitations. So I guess I’m sending out either one that the guests will have a hard time reading or one that has a extremely blurry picture on the front of it. I will not be using Shutterfly anymore and I will be telling my friends and family not to either.

Customer service is awful. The rep actually got attitude with me. At first all they offered me was $10 credit. I eventually got them to credit me the entire price of the book which I still don’t have and which will miss the party for which it was created.

When I addressed the issue they blamed the resolution. Which is not the case. These were professional high resolution photos. I was only offered a $10 credit to purchase more prints. I had ordered a book for my portfolio (college student) and it was sent to me wrong 2 times and then the last time the color was running out of the printer so there were red lines across the entire book. The 2 times they were missing pictures and some were duplicated. I had to pay shipping on the 2 new books that they messed up, $9 each. I believe paying shipping on their wrongdoing is ridiculous. The only time I didn't pay shipping was when the coloring was messed up. My book was also damaged on all 3 that were messed up. Even though in the end they corrected it (after me paying $19 in shipping), it took 2 1/2 months for a correct one to arrive which I was very dissatisfied with.

I received an e-mail offering me "99 free magnets." I spent over two hours carefully formatting each one through the Shutterfly app. When I went to check out, the shipping cost was $108.54. (I used to work in customer service; it costs about $10 to ship a box of magnets.) I find this incredibly manipulative and deceitful. I have been a good Shutterfly customer over the years, and I have enjoyed many of their products. But this is absolutely obscene. I fully understand that companies need to profit (even from free or promotional offers), but charging over $100 to ship a so-called "free gift" is incredibly manipulative and wrong.

I am not so much worried about not receiving the "free magnets" as I am about the two hours I spent formatting them: two hours of my life wasted that I will never get back. I was not seeking out magnets. I do not have a need for magnets. I chose to take them up on this offer because it was a promotional offer. I called customer service to issue a formal complaint. They said there was absolutely nothing they could do about it. Okay, no problem. But I am now officially done with this company (a company I once ordered from with some frequency) and I plan to tell everyone I know about their dishonest and manipulative promotional practices.

I have loads of Shutterfly stories of the messed up items, bad shipping problems, damaged products, ridiculous quality control, exorbitant shipping rates, and fake freebies. But I won’t bore you with details, just know that there are many. And for 10-11 years I put up with all of it because it was still worth it in that up until like 1.5-2 years ago. The customer service reps were very kind and generous about replacing things, fixing things, giving coupons or discounts for your inconveniences. But then 1.5-2 years ago I started noticing changes and customer service reps were becoming more difficult to deal with and were very much less helpful in resolving issues. Mind you I didn’t have issues that were my own fault because that’s on me... but I had constantly occurring issues with the products... poor printing, crooked printing, so on and so forth.

And it got harder and harder for them to simply reprint or replace products, and forget about the coupons or future discounts for your hassle. At one point I spoke with a manager and she said they had changed one of the big wigs... the CEO or some other high ranking person at Shutterfly, and he was the person making all these changes. Shutterfly now spends most of its time giving away free garbage on tv shows so they look good but meanwhile they’re raking customers over the coals. They want the world to think they’re wonderful on tv but they don’t care much about the customers anymore. Even ones like me who had been loyal for over a decade and had spent plenty of money with them. So that’s the short of it.

Your shipping rates will always be disgustingly high and unreasonable. They will allow you now to combine WAY LESS coupons than ever in the past. Their quality control on every type of item is horrendous so PLEASE triple check your items when they come in. Customer service is so much more difficult now. But the best part is that there are far more companies offering photo products these days that now offer much better options than Shutterfly because you don’t have to babysit them or always feel cheated thanks to the blatant way Shutterfly rips you off. When I started ordering from Shutterfly all those years ago there were very few options and that’s why I started. But now we have far more opportunities.

I still stay signed up for all the emails from companies that give freebies out here and there and I just put the coupon codes on FB for anyone to use if they want to. It’s just very rarely worth it for me anymore. I haven’t ordered anything in over a year, and unless they start shifting back to treating customers better, I won’t be going back.

Got a 25 dollar promo code from Best Buy from buying a SSD which came with a Shutterfly 25 code to spend on their website, I get sent the code, which keep in mind doesn't really say what doesn't apply to or what makes it inapplicable. So I go and I see the whole website is on sale, I purchase two art prints, one 5x7 which is on sale for 7.99, regular price (14) and a 8x8 art print which was also on sale for 12.99, regular price (25) and two regular 4x4 prints which are 20 cents each. I go to check out, total came up to 25.60 with shipping price included. I apply the code which then says not applicable for sales product, which really makes no sense since the whole website is on sale, which literally makes the 25 dollar promo code impossible to apply! Regardless I went with the checkout and said I'll use it next time, so I purchased it. Went to check out the code in my account which disappeared.

I called Customer service. The guy was helpful to begin with. I explained exactly what had happened. He seemed like he was going to explain and tell me what had happened, he started talking about the way business works and how the company makes money, which sort of was irrelevant to my issue. Then he said the reason your promo code disappeared is because I used it when I checked out, which like I said I wasn't able to use to begin with because the items were on sale anyways. He stated the full price of both art prints I bought and said it discounted the price on them, which again does not make sense because they were on sale already to begin with. Which makes the website/company itself very misleading. There was no point to the promo code to begin with which made it this whole process very contradicting. Either way you lost a customer and his word for this lying company.

It took me a few months of handwriting addresses a little at a time every night and putting in the envelope liners. I finally finished up this weekend and stamped all of them with my own return address stamp (that I now have to buy new ink for to re stamp another 150 envelopes). As I begin to put postage stamps on them and seal them, I realize the adhesive on the envelopes isn’t sealing.

So, I’m back to square one of rewriting, re stamping and re inserting liners and hoping they actually seal this time. Such a waste of time and money. However shipping on these small items came out to $ 65.00, as much as the items were priced. So, I had a code that said, free shipping if you order over $ 49.00, so I added $ 60.00 more in items, well code did not work and shipping went up to $ 95.00. I went to the "Chat" option and guess what...no one responded to my Chat request even after waiting 5 minutes. I called and ended up listening to Shutterfly ads forever and finally I gave up. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME. The last time I used Shutterfly it took an incredibly long time to receive my order and I paid $21 for shipping. I said I would never use Shutterfly again but the delivery before Christmas was what enticed me order from them again. How deceptive to advertise expedited shipping and then have no way for the customer to get it.

I ordered photo Christmas cards with a 4 photo design. I received a card with one photo and 3 blank area. The customer service phone number was useless since they don't answer it. I e-mailed the company and waited 3 days for a reply. They insisted on reshipping the cards when I asked for a refund. THEY SENT EXACTLY THE SAME DEFECTIVE CHRISTMAS CARD! This was after responding to my detailed email. They are now offering me a credit for their company instead of refunding my money.

I ordered two bean bag chairs personalized with photos of my daughters and their names. They were intended to be Christmas gifts from Santa. I ordered on November 25, 2018 with an estimated delivery of 12/13-12/14. On 12/18, not only has the order not shipped, it hasn't even been completed. I attempted to call Shutterfly customer service about this issue and was told the wait would be 120 minutes! I agreed to allow them to call me back. When they did, two hours later, they kept me on hold for 30 minutes as they "look[ed] into" the issue. They explained that the manufacturer is very behind and they're sorry, but not only is there nothing they can do, they have no idea when the items will ship.

I demanded a full refund because I'll now have to scramble, less than a week before Christmas to find replacement gifts. They did give me the full refund, but it won't reach my account for 7-10 days. So not only do I not have the presents from Santa for my girls, I'm also missing all of the money allocated toward those gifts. Nothing can make this right. I am beyond disappointed with Shutterfly and their complete lack of remorse for what this has done to my family.

I ordered a picture blanket in November. Have email guaranteeing its delivery by Dec 18th. It's the 19th and no blanket. Hours on hold on the phone, to hear, "Sorry there was a storm in October and we can't keep up" - the storm was in Florida. The item ships from Arizona. Poor poor customer service. Never again. Now I'm stuck for a gift for a boss by the 20th and no refund.

First and foremost I usually do not write bad reviews but I only thought it was appropriate for this situation. Ordered a custom photo fleece blanket for my mother on 12/8 after calling to verify I would have it by Christmas. I was told if I ordered by the end of day I would receive it the week of the 17th so I placed the order right away. I called on the 14th after being on hold for almost an hour I requested more details on my order as in my account it still showed being created. It was now showing delivery of 1/4-1/9 and I wanted to confirm this was hopefully an error. I was told no it’s an issue with the website and my blanket will be to my doorstep by 12/24 absolute latest.

I called again today 12/18 due to once again no updates and still showing it had not been created. Customer service told me that this was expected to arrive at my house by 1/19 that they had a backup due to weather and heavy orders being placed. Needless to say I’ve canceled my order and I will never do business with Shutterfly again. I’ve been using them for years and could not imagine the money they have made from my wife and I but I couldn’t be more pissed at this time and don’t plan to ever do business again. If you want something and you don’t have 2-3 months to wait make sure you get it elsewhere because the runaround they give you is all just what you want to hear and they can’t follow through on anything they commit to.

Ordered Christmas cards and throughout the order check out and my initial confirmation email it guaranteed delivery by Dec. 14th. However when they finally “shipped” on Dec. 11th the guaranteed date become a 3-day window up until Dec. 17th. On Dec. 13th I emailed because I was concerned my shipment that was guaranteed by Dec. was showing movement on the tracking history. I was assured everything is fine and just wait till Dec. 17th. Well that date came and went and now they are saying it was lost. Shutterfly is unreliable to say the least and deceitful with the bait and switch “guaranteed” delivery date. I’ve learned my lesson and will no longer use this company.

I placed an order on December 11th. In order to receive it before I leave town for Christmas I had to pay $45 for expedited shipping. Delivery was guaranteed by 12/19. I received an email on 12/16 letting me know that my order had shipped and the "estimated" delivery date was 12/19. Upon tracking my package I find that it will not be delivered until 12/20. There is an email address provided for questions about your order. I sent a very detailed email about the issue and that I was very unhappy.

When you call you find out that the wait time is 52 minutes, or 44 minutes (depending on how many different times you try to call). Their automated message while you are holding is that they will upgrade your shipping for free to meet the guaranteed delivery date. UHHH NOPE! So they don't honor their promises and they don't have the time to address your concerns via email, so you are left to hold for eternity in the hopes that someone will answer the phone. I will never buy from them again. What a waste and now I have no gift for Christmas.

I ordered a deck of playing cards which were suppose to be personalized with a photo. I received blanks instead. When I tried to contact them to fix the problem, I gave up because trying to contact customer service was too difficult and frustrating. I would not recommend Shutterfly.

I ordered holiday cards with printed envelopes and matching liners. First of all, the cards and envelopes came but I had to wait extra time for the liners. Finally, the liners arrive and they are completely defective. Each liner has a sticky strip covered with a plastic tape to be removed so that you can adhere it to the inside of the envelope. Well, every time I tried to remove the tape, the whole liner tore off with it. VERY POOR QUALITY! After getting in touch with Shutterfly they will give a refund BUT guess what?!? I have to pay to send them back. REALLY? I will never order anything from this company again.

I normally use Mixbook for all of my photo books but decided to use Shutterfly this time. I went in and created a book for my husbands family for Christmas and finished it on December 5 and they sent me a message saying it they were going to send 3 and then 1 later. That makes no sense, if you printed and shipped 3 why would you not do the 4th one, with the 3 to be received by the 15 and the 4th sometime between the 15th and the 17th. For kickers I called them and I was told my wait time would be 186 minutes. You don't wait that long to talk to the IRS.

So I needed to do another book for my daughter and went to Mixbook to complete it. I put that order in on 12/10 and it's already shipped and will likely arrive before the Shutterfly ones do. When I contacted Shutterfly and expressed my dissatisfaction all I got was an email saying, "We apologize for any inconvenience. Your order has now been shipped." The 3 books I am waiting for are for family in California and I will now have to pay extra shipping in order to get them there by Christmas. My recommendation, go with Mixbook and stay away from Shutterfly. I know I will.
