Rating 5 - on time, courteous, professional, skilled, expedient. I needed to complete a move with short notice, which required making arrangements over the weekend. Despite first contacting Safe Ship Moving on Saturday afternoon for a Tuesday full-home 3600 sq.ft. move, I felt taken care of every step of the way. Never did anyone say “this can’t be done!” It was an efficient operation and I would 100% recommend Safe Ship Moving.

Since I wrote my review on 2/5/25, I received a response from Safe Ship wanting to work with me to resolve my issues. I spoke with Jessica ** (customer experience specialist) who was able to resolve my concerns and have the money I requested for damages reimbursed. I feel a little better about my experience with them, but there is still a lot of room for improvement with their pricing strategies and vetting reputable movers in my opinion.

In June of 2024 I bought a house and needed to move my heirloom quality furniture from Maine to Colorado. On 7/31/2024 I contacted Safe Ship to get a price for the cost of the move. My old house was up for sale at the time so the representative not only took my account of how much furniture I had, but looked at all the rooms on-line and gave me a price for the move. Keep in mind that Safe Ship is not a moving company, but a broker that manages moving companies. They quoted me a price of $8039.32 and wanted $3170.29 as a deposit to schedule the move for either 8/29/24 or 8/30/24. After about a month of packing everything myself I was contacted by another representative to do “another” evaluation of the cost for the move on 8/28/24. I was told it would now cost me $9396.38 due to the number of boxes I had?
At this point I informed the representative that I no longer wanted their service and was told that I would forfeit my down payment of $3170.29 because the contract only refunded my money within 7 days of 7/31/24. In other words, they call you for an additional price hike well after the 7 day refund period! I was left without much choice so I elected to pay the additional cost. On their scheduled day (Friday) to arrive the movers were hours past the quoted time frame so I called Safe Ship and was told they were on their way and would be at our house in 15 to 20 minutes. After waiting 4 to 5 hours I called the moving company and was told they were an hour out, but the truck was full and they didn’t have any room for my furniture. They arrived the next day (Saturday) after 8pm and worked till 11pm to move some of my furniture.
They finished the next day (Sunday), but damaged the interior wall (which they patched up poorly) and broke the lamppost outside. Then they informed us that we had too much furniture to fit in the truck and it would cost us another $4791.87. I was very upset by the movers not only moving us two days late disrupting our plans, but damaging our property and increasing the cost yet again. Safe Ship’s response was that they would expedite the move. I told them that I didn’t want the move expedited, but was ignored. On 9/5/2024 I was notified that the movers would be at my new house on 9/6/2024. The truck was parked in front of the house. I learned that the movers hired a couple of locals to do the work that didn’t speak English and had no experience in moving furniture. Even though I had the boxes labeled, due to the language barrier they put the furniture/household goods in disarray.
After looking over my things, I can’t begin to explain the devastation that I felt when I saw my scratched up and damaged heirloom quality furniture along with the walls/ceilings of our pristine new home damaged. A whole chunk of wood about 3 inches in length was separated and taped to the underside of my table in order to hide the damage! We did extensive work in taking pictures and listing the damage in order to be reimbursed $2670 per policy. We heard nothing and when we called we were told that they lost the original paperwork and we had to resent it only to be told in the end that they would pay only $156 for all the damage they cost us! The lamppost alone cost us $800 to replace! We are in arbitration now, but my trust in a fair process when dealing with an unprofessional company like Safe Ship is gone.

I had an outstanding experience. From start to finish, their team was professional, efficient, and incredibly careful with my belongings. They arrived on time, worked quickly but diligently, and handled everything with great care. Not a single item was damaged, and they even went the extra mile to make sure everything was placed exactly where I wanted it. Their communication was excellent, and they made the entire moving process stress-free. If you’re looking for reliable and hardworking movers, look no further I will definitely be using them again in the future!

Everything was fine with the process. I do have two suggestions. When one places their order they speak to one person but then later it’s a different person and in my case there were three people who eventually were helping me. While they all did their job, each has a unique personality that comes through over the phone. So I felt very comfortable with the first caller Liam. He was very patient and thorough. The others were good but I felt less confident because I needed clarification and eventually got it but I think my lack of confidence was because 3 different people handled it whereas had I just stuck with Liam I would have felt secure. So maybe one person handles a move order from start to finish?
Secondly. While I understand the first intake of the order is an estimate, I was quoted a price but when the day came to review the contents and be sure the estimate was close, and even though I had removed SEVERAL pieces of furniture but added a few more bins, there was a $1300 difference. This was quite the jolt given I am a single Senior with limited funds. SO I feel that if you could at least get the estimate closer than that it wouldn’t have jolted my senses. I was quoted $6000 for the move AND the auto ship and it ended up at around $7500 for both. But by then I didn’t really have a choice. So I paid. Just trying to make it a bit easier on the next person perhaps. BUT overall it was fine and the actual people loading my stuff on the truck were fabulous!! And I feel confident my things will arrive intact. Thank you so much.

Omar was very helpful and accommodating. He provided contact info and was careful with wrapping items. He is continuing to assist me with finding a driver which will be arriving close my arrival in Los Angeles to avoid a long wait for my items. Both of the men which were at the location acted professionally and I would be happy to recommend this service to friends as long as I receive everything in good condition and in a timely manner.

I highly recommend this moving company. We had to make a last minute decision when hiring them and they were able to accommodate a next day moving team! When we called customer service they were very helpful and kind. They were great at communicating and explaining everything. They were careful and thoughtful about how they protected and packed our belongings. Overall, a wonderful service!

The pick up and all the coordination was very nice, communicative and smooth. However, the price is a scam. The day before in the final inventory they told me I needed a bigger truck and the price doubled. Originally I was paying almost $4k and it went up almost $8k. When they finalized the pick up, the truck was very empty. So it was unnecessary thus all that extra money was unnecessary. The people working are all super nice and reliable is the surprise last minute price that is awful and you can’t back down. Thus, for this reason I don’t recommend it.

Communication was mostly on point, the movers got to my old address a bit later than originally anticipated. They loaded everything up quickly and carefully. I would have preferred if they would have responded Friday to let me know they couldn't deliver but them showing up on Saturday to unload was fine too. Overall the experience was great.

Andrei and the Azimuth Group did a wonderful job helping me pack up for my CO to CA move. Not only were they able to come a bit earlier than anticipated they were efficient, kind and caring. Exceptionally helpful and thorough. I would highly recommend them and this team to handle your next move!

My original estimate was not even close to the final quote. I entered that I had 2 5x10 storage units plus listed items. The original estimate did not reflect the cost per square foot of the 2 units which was what made the final estimate so high. When quoting the estimate, the representatives only read off the numbers. I had to stop them to get the actual dollar amounts. The final representative was giving the final quote, I had to stop her to clarify the amount. I said, "Wait. You mean $526.xx?" She said, "No $5,26x.xx." I was stunned! I don't even remember the entire final quote because my brain was trying to keep up with her delivery. Her delivery was so cavalier and nonchalant.
This quote was not even close to the original and beyond my affordability. If I had had an inkling of the total cost in the beginning, I would never have continued to work with Safe Ship Moving. I finally told her I could only afford the original quote which included 398 cubic feet. The general conversion of a 5x10 storage unit is 400 cubic feet. This meant that not only did I have to figure out how to leave half of my possessions behind, I also had to work with trying to figure out how I could meet the two cubic feet difference.
Fernando, the individual assigned to transport my belongings is very professional and efficient. He took time to explain everything and answered all of my questions. All in all, I will never recommend or work with Safe Ship Moving again. It is really sad because Trevor made it a point to state it is a Veteran supported firm which implies respectability, quality and forthrightness. None of which was presented in my experience.

Arrived on time, prepared to get to work. The three guys worked great as a team. You could tell they had worked together many times. Each individual had their area of focus, but jumped in to help each other when help was needed. The point person who communicated with me was very professional. Very pleased with the result!

I am beyond frustrated with my experience. They promised a delivery window of 7-21 days, assuring me it wouldn’t even come close to 21 days. Here I am, over 30 days later, still waiting for my belongings! I’ve had to call them every single day for updates, and every time I was met with vague responses and zero accountability. It’s clear that they have no idea where my stuff is, and frankly, I feel completely ignored.
To make matters worse, they overcharged me significantly for their services. I’ve already spent over $3000 to furnish my home with a newborn. We’ve been without a place to sleep or even basic clothes, towels, kitchen appliances, blankets, mattresses, a crib and so much more. This is not just a minor inconvenience. It's a huge disruption to our lives. Save your money and your sanity, do not waste it on this company. Their false promises and lack of communication have turned what should have been a simple move into an absolute nightmare. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone!

I cannot explain how satisfied I was with my packing experience. They were exactly on time, flawlessly put the truck in my tight driveway/neighborhood, surveyed the house, adjusted box counts/sizes, completed the paperwork, and got to work. The 3 men (sorry I don’t remember your names) but you should be recognized by your company for excellent service! They were very nice and professional to both me and my dog. I was able to tuck in the back room and continue working, switched to a front room when they cleared it to continue on with my work essentially uninterrupted. My expectations were by far, exceeded.

I have moved at least 10 times and several times cross country. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had and I would never use this broker. I expected the final dollar amount of the move to be higher but over 2 1/2 times higher than the original quote and didn’t know until three days before the move happened. Their contracted company ciao Bella provided me with over $3000 of extra insurance that I paid for to ensure full replacement value of anything that was lost, broken, etc. When my things arrived here out of storage, several things were broken two major art pieces were stolen or lost and I’ve been offered less than $200 which is not full replacement value.
I should've known better than to use this company. Follow through was horrible & once they get paid, they really don’t give a damn. Use a major moving company instead of this unprofessional & horrible customer service mover. Promises made were broken & anyone that uses them has to have their head examined. Never again!

All contacts from scheduling through pickup were great. Jesse followed up waiting 3 hours until we were home and could complete necessary paperwork work. He was great to work with. Keith followed up and unfortunately had to make a significant increase in price (doubled original quote) but provided reason for the change. The men who came to wrap and move parts to their van were efficient and professional.

MD Interstate Movers were great and professional. Did my move in one day with the 7 hour trip. They setup all furniture fast. Packing was great and did not see any marks on furniture. I would recommend them for another move. I am very happy this team did the move. They also was able .to make it to my second stop and putting the rest.of.the boxes.

My pickup experience was easy and efficient. The scheduled time for pick up was changed twice within 24 hours of pick up. Then the movers arrived about an hour after the window for arrival. Once they arrived, the movers were friendly and careful with my belongings. I Highly recommend this service!

Fast, efficient, very professional and friendly movers. They called me when they were an hour away, to give me a heads-up on their ETA. Upon arrival, they went through the inventory to make sure they had an accurate list of all items being transported. They took great care in packaging our mirrors and desk, to be sure they weren’t damaged during transport.

The movers did a great job. They communicated well, they were punctual, they were professional. They were very thorough when wrapping up my furniture and it arrived to the destination in great condition. Also, they paid close attention to every detail. One worker noticed a nut missing from a table leg as they were packing. We found it on the floor and screwed it on before they left. I appreciated that he was so careful and concerned.

I have been very happy with my service from Safe Ship from the first introductory phone call. Excellent service and all that was discussed came together. No hidden fees or extra charges. I would like to give a shout out to the Team who picked up my items. I was leaving a bad relationship and my Ex came in during the move. He was very angry about a dresser I was taking and I almost called the police. My brother came right over and stayed throughout. Your Team remained calm and professional and I am grateful for them. Safe ship is nothing but money hungry. We were quoted a certain price for the whole shipping then after they picked up from the storage unit in Indiana I had to pay a fee. Then they held it for 7 days. Before they could move it kept in a warehouse then added another fee. Time we got our stuff here in Georgia it was 2 weeks later we had to stay in hotels. Finally got our stuff. Had to pay some more money. On top of that they said they couldn't bring their 18 wheeler into the complex apartments ha the manager here said semis come in all the time so they charged 500 dollars more to get a Uhaul truck to bring in our stuff. They charged us 100.00 more cause they had to use the elevator. That's crazy. The tape the wrapping was left behind I had to take out to the trash. Wow. Do not use they are a con plus they weren't able to speak English. One spoke English but he was from another country. Gee wizzz.

So far, everything has gone very well! There were 6 guys to load my boxes I packed and then they wrapped all my furniture very carefully. They were all very friendly and a great group to help us on a very stressful day! Moving is stressful, but they made it easier for us by always smiling.

I used Safe Ship Moving a couple of months ago to move cross country. They were easy to work with, but be wary of the third party company they hire to do the actual move. They used Perfectly Fast Moving for me and they could barely speak English which made it difficult to communicate during the move. They also increased my price about $1500 due to apparently going above the quoted space. They couldn’t really explain how the allotted space was calculated so it seemed kind of arbitrary. They showed up at my new house with no notice. They lost about 10 different items during the move, luckily they found most of them in their warehouse and dropped them off a couple weeks later but a few things were never found. There was damage to my dining room table and chairs as well as one of my couches which was “determined to be acceptable for the move” so I wasn’t compensated for them.
Be careful when reading your contract. It was late at night when I was given the contract and the guy explained it to me as any damaged or missing items would be repaid at 60% of value. It’s actually 60 cents per pound unless you pay extra so be aware of that. My fault for not reading it more carefully but still seemed pretty shady.

We had a scheduled appointment and advance call on the day of the move. The crew blanketed each piece and shrink wrapped each item with care. They moved each piece carefully out our front door without any damage or scratches. We are very pleased with the service provided.

The 3 man crew that picked out belongings up were very efficient and nice. We really liked the main guy, very down to earth and thorough. Customer service over the phone was excellent as well. If we decide in the future to move again we absolutely will be contacting safe ship. We also would recommend them to any friends or family.

The move was extremely quick and well managed. The team alerted me to their arrival. They quickly assessed the situation and then moved everything extremely quickly. Extremely helpful and understanding. Packed up my studio apartment in a very short amount of time. Also assisted in some additional packing or repacking in order to make sure nothing was damaged. This was the first time I’ve ever hired people to help me move and this was such a positive experience that I will likely be returning again in the future. The team as a whole is incredible attentive and quick to answer question or address any changes. I found the heavier boxes on top of the lighter ones, so it is making it difficult to unpack them. Also, some of the boxes were upside down (even with arrows on the box). Furniture was put in backwards. An example of this is a dresser was put in the bedroom with the drawers facing the wall. My larger TV has no power cord connected, and as I am pretty much useless when it comes to anything electrical, I am still trying to figure out which cord goes where (and there are a lot of cords)! And since the boxes were put away in a manner that I do not know which box has what.

Pickup crew was wonderful. Prior to that, the final walkthrough was terrible. Dylan was unprofessional and tried to charge me 2500 more than my Original quote for what he perceived as 100 cubic feet more than quoted because he didn’t have box springs listed. I know I told Andrew box springs. And Dylan said he could pull the recording of the call and prove me wrong. I told him to review the recording then because I am 100% sure. Andrew asked if I had box springs and I told him yes! Was so Disappointed with Dylan as someone in sales and customer service. He then began blaming the intake form and putting down his teammates.

I recently contacted Safe Ship Moving Services for a quote on a move from my two-bedroom townhouse to a three-bedroom house, 139 miles away. While their veteran-owned status initially impressed me, their response to my inquiry raised serious concerns about their pricing practices. To test their honesty, I deliberately inflated my quote from other companies, stating I had received estimates around $6900. Surprisingly, their representative immediately countered with a price of $6400. This was alarming, as legitimate moving quotes for this type of move were closer to $2800.
This experience suggests a bait-and-switch tactic, where they aim to secure business by undercutting inflated figures, potentially leading customers to believe they are getting a deal when in reality they are being overcharged. I urge potential customers to exercise extreme caution and obtain multiple quotes before considering Safe Ship Moving Services.

Safe Ship has been very helpful. The only issue is that the movers said I had about 100 sq ft more space than figured because my furniture was bigger than what Safe Ship estimated. Was a little surprised. I’ve heard that sometimes that movers may ‘exaggerate’ sizes. I’ve never had movers before, so just curious.

Booking with Safe Ship was a disastrous experience, and I strongly urge anyone considering them to think twice. They are merely brokers and take no responsibility for the moving companies they hire. The lack of customer service was astounding. They demanded cash upfront and refused to open the truck to show our belongings until we paid. The driver arrived with only 45 minutes’ notice, was unaccompanied, and left our belongings on the sidewalk. To make matters worse, he drove off with a box of our clothes and other items.
The price kept changing, and our belongings were essentially held hostage. The truck was chaotic—nothing was organized, tagged, or properly secured. Safe Ship broke some of our items before they even made it to the truck, and several possessions were either lost or damaged beyond repair during this out-of-state move. Attempts to contact Safe Ship, Vangard, and the mover were met with silence. Safe Ship offered zero assistance in resolving the issues. This was a nightmare from start to finish. Numerous items were broken, lost, and never recovered. Beware of Safe Ship!

SCAM!!! Taking advantage of an elderly lady! SCAM!!! I am submitting this review on behalf of Ms. Adele **, authorized by a power of attorney. My name is David **, representing Moving Scam Rescue. Ms. ** engaged the services of Safe Ship Moving Services and made a deposit of approximately $4,000. She mistakenly believed she was dealing with a different company at the time of payment. Upon realizing her error and requesting a refund of the deposit, Safe Ship responded with a refusal and abruptly ended the call.
I would like to pose a question to the public: how would you feel about entering into a contract with a moving company that fails to disclose that the deposit is nonrefundable? This is a company with numerous online reviews indicating that they have deceived their clients. My client is an elderly individual who is being exploited in this situation. Her husband suffers from dementia, and she is facing numerous challenges alone. After paying the $4,000, she became aware of the company's poor reputation, which she discovered after noticing their suspicious behavior following the deposit.
We are actively pursuing this company to recover Ms. ** full deposit. If you are contemplating using this moving service, I encourage you to conduct thorough research. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!! They took my family's original $10,000 quote and marked it up to $16,000 five days before our move! That's a 60% increase... Then, they claimed it was our fault because "we didn't give them the full list" the first time. That is a complete lie, this is just the way they hustle people when they’re vulnerable. Safe Ship is NOT a moving company, they're a "broker." This means they reach out to a carrier (actual moving) company and then pretend to do extra work. All they are doing with the other moving company is the same thing you spent time doing with Safe Ship. Then, they markup the actual move quote way up and that's how they make this business. I actually can't believe it's a business in the USA, especially with all the "veteran-owned" marketing they do.
Just go straight to an actual carrier and save yourself all the extra money and heartache!!! The carrier will walk you through the exact same process. No time saved. Safe Ship will pretend to be a moving company, spend over an hour on the phone getting your inventory, then ask you for a deposit. It is NOT refundable!!! Once you get about a week out from your move, when you're in a real crunch, they'll go back to "confirm" your inventory and mark the original quote way up!!!

Cobra Van Lines was the mover and packers. They did an excellent job, would definitely recommend!! They came on time, packed everything neatly and left as per schedule. Safe Ship was excellent as the brokers as well. They also helped with clearing up some trash in the place. The pricing was also extremely transparent and competitive.

Fantastic customer service. Very professional and helpful with answering questions. However I have an issue with moving company that picked up our goods. Professional until the end, job Foreman tried getting us for an additional $12,000.00 then said if we pay cash he would cut it to $4,000.00. We settled with credit card of $990 but at wrong rate which Safe Ship caught that we were charged incorrectly. The moving company tried scamming $12,000 grand from us. Not okay

They were very personable, explained everything and took good care of items being packed. They wrapped and taped all furniture pieces. They packed some of my snake boxes in a large box. They were very careful packing my Tiffany lamps. Dario explained all the paperwork before having me sign. They told me the things would be taken to a storehouse and I would receive a call 1-2 days before delivery. So far I am pleased. I did not like that they couldn't take the money order as I had made it out to Safe Ship.

The movers were on time for pickup, very communicative, wrapped everything with care, and were in and out in less than an hour. They showed an interest in my pet which was very sweet and were very respectful of the property. The guy who was driving the truck was an AMAZING driver. My apartment parking lot is a little tight and he drove that giant truck in and out like it was nothing. Do not use this company! The lies! What was supposed to be a 3,800 move, ended up being over 5,000! The movers damaged our items! The head person Edwin of actual moving company "The Borders" continuously going back and forth with me after explaining my items were damaged and then refused to talk to me! Unprofessional! Safe Ship reps were rude and another rep messed up our move date to Dec. 2025 instead of 2024! What a hassle that was! I will add Gigi at SafeShip was pleasant! Highlights: Our move was postponed several times between Thanksgiving and the New Year. The individuals we dealt with by phone we amazing, patient, knowledgeable, and flexible. They were very accommodating. Challenges: The cost more than double from the original quote to the final payment. Very stressful. Final payments were complicated because of the third party approach.

Started out great. Our movers were wonderful!! Courteous, friendly, hard working, respectful. We adored them. But after that things went from bad to worse. Our stuff was picked up on Thursday 12/26 and as of 12/31 we still do not have our items and haven’t heard from the company as to when we will receive them. I will not recommend this company to anyone. It takes too long to get your stuff. The worse part is when we asked them will we get it right away they implied we would, even though it can take up to 7 days. We were told that we will get it sooner. Even though the movers were wonderful, customer service was short with us and didn’t help. All we got were Lies, all lies!!!

I spoke to Andrew or Alex ** who swore everything would get delivered and how outstanding they are.. Moving from Ventura, California to Johnston, Rhode Island. My name, address and stickers on boxes. They brokered my stuff to RIGOS DELIVERY AND MOVING. 2 young guys came and wrapped up my stuff, 1 2 piece couch,1 full size mattress, 4 small end tables and a sm bench for the end of my bed.10 med-small boxes, 2 large and 3 med. bins. Period!! They charged an extra 450.00, said I took up too much space??? Wth!!
1 guy delivered it within an hour and put the bed frame together. A lot of my clothes weren't delivered, pocket books, kitchen stuff etc. He couldn't believe I was charged 450 extra for space. I had LESS than a small studio apt of belongings. They were both horrible and WHERE IS MY STUFF???! STOLEN?? At the very least, they ripped me off 450.00.If you are making a long move, DO NOT USE RIGOS IN CALIFORNIA OR SAFE SHIP, I believe out of Florida. Then trying to get a reimbursement, forget it!! We are extremely angry and disappointed with Safe Ship Moving. We are missing boxes, personal items and medication. We’ve called movers to no avail. The 2 guys that came were great. Took the time to wrap everything securely and were very professional. Was not told ahead of time there would be a $75 penalty for stairs at the delivery destination. The supervisor took the time to walk through paperwork to make sure I understood everything and that my delivery address was correct.

They came and wrapped everything very carefully and also took apart some things so they would not get damaged. Nice guys did a very thorough job. After wrapping and padding everything was loaded onto the truck. Afterwards they left with everything and I fly back to Florida. In a matter of days they let me know they were on their way to my Florida address. They came unloaded and unwrapped everything. They put the furniture exactly where I wanted it. The whole move went very smoothly. There was no damage and the company was in contact with me thru the whole move. I wouldn’t even hesitate to use them again.

Booked a move from California to Texas with Safe Ship and had nothing but a great experience from the beginning. Great customer service, thorough follow up with excellent pick up experience. Extremely organized, neat and safe movers. They helped to ensure everything was packed up safely and took extra care with each item. They arrived on time and managed to get my entire apartment packed up in less than 3 hours. They were also able to price match a lower offer I had received from another mover which was much appreciated!

For the first time in my life the movers not only showed up on time but early! I had allotted a few hours for them to pack and collect my things but they were in and out within 1. The team lead was very personable and transparent. Will use again if I move back.

Don’t not recommend. There is no communication between them and the moving company. I was charged in additional 2000 plus by the moving company. The move was from Florida to Arizona. For your sake stay away from Safe Ship!!!

The moving personnel were extremely courteous and helpful. They kept me informed the entire time. They were careful to make sure they were doing everything I needed them to do and did it fast. I hope I don’t ever have to move again but if I do these gentleman are the ones I would want to do the job. They were wonderful!

Started of great, booked and got everything set up. The moving company showed up, Oasis, no clue who it was going to be, I "assumed" they would only use reputable moving companies. We had a quote for a 3 bedroom house, had to move our things to a storage unit, closer to the freeway, less drive for them and a 10x10 unit. They charged us an additional $5,000.00 saying we had more things, no we did not, we downsized, at this point you cannot argue since they had all of our belongings loaded, with our help.
Fast forward, Oasis arrives in Florida from Washington State. Unloaded, I went thru what I could with the time frame they gave me, while they waited. Once they left, I did unpack and took notes on a separate piece of paper, Oasis said do not write on the bill of lading. They lost numerous items, I called them, they yelled at me, asking why did I wait so long, it was 3 days.
I call Safe Ship to get help or advice, they referred me to Oasis, who at this point stops taking my calls. I file a claim within 90 days and their insurance company denied it all, even with me sending pictures as proof along with all the phone calls. I filed with BBB, Oasis does not respond, claim closed. I did talk to Safe Ship again, and they refer me to Oasis and at this point wash their hands and won't help. Oasis should not be in their go to for moving company. I feel since they did send Oasis to me they are partly responsible for working with such a badly rated company. Now I have to work with an attorney to get at least compensated for all of our missing items.

I’m moving my father across the country to Denver, and selling his house. We originally were going with PODs who was the worst experience ever, they decided not to deliver the pod without telling us. We found your company and you guys came to the rescue and movers were there the next day at the time they said. Reliable and stress-free!

The sales rep was pushy and did not want to provide the quote to be valid for longer than the time we were on the phone. The movers added small charges all along the way with no itemization. Upon pick-up, we were told that items would be reassembled in the correct rooms. The team who unloaded denied this service and did not arrive at the property until 8:30 pm and unloaded until after midnight. For those with children or elderly, these hours are completely unacceptable. Following the pick-up, I was again high pressured to complete THIS form with phone calls and text messages as though I had nothing else to do in the middle of a move with elderly parents.

Great experience. Very good attention to detail and good follow through. Everything was wrapped well and handled with care. The move ended up costing a little bit more than the estimate, but this is why it is called an estimate. We also needed to tip the movers but this was also expected. I highly recommend Safe Ship Moving Services.

I was very satisfied with all aspects of the move so far. The gentleman were quick and efficient, kept me in the loop regarding what they were doing and cost. Movers were excellent! Safe Ship was good, but not great. Cost was extreme! The cost kept changing. They don’t ask enough questions in the beginning to give a very good estimate. Then they only give 48 hours to cancel. Satisfied with the movers, but not with Safe Ship. Thank you.

They buy their reviews and when someone post an honest review of how bad they are, they try to buy them off. Although they wrote to me on Dec 19, Stating, "To address the concerns you’ve raised and demonstrate our commitment to making things right, I am pleased to inform you that the moving team will be refunding the shuttle fee in full. Additionally, as a gesture of good faith, Safe Ship Moving will be refunding $1,409.67 directly to you."

Original review: If I could give Safe Ship a Zero 0 on a scale of 1-5 I would. When I was searching for a moving company I saw that Safe Ship was veteran owned and gave veterans a discount, that was the reason that I picked them. I did not realize that you were a broker and that I could have just chosen my own company and cut out the middleman. When speaking to my original estimator Mike **, I was told by him that he was estimating high on the number of boxes and furniture to be moved so that my cost would not change when I had my second estimate done. The original estimate was $11,690.32. This was not my lowest estimate by movers but was in the middle and again I was thinking that your company was veteran friendly and a "moving company" NOT a broker.
This was on November 18. I was NOT closing on my New York home until December 5th and since I was driving to Texas, the earliest day of delivery would be around Dec 9, so we planned on moving on Dec 1-2, I explained ALL of this to Mike during our phone call. But later on I discovered I was being charged $2,000 for "expedited service" which I did not require or ask for nor did I receive.... Not happy about that at all and this money should have been returned to me.
During my Second call with Ryan, an updated estimate was done and I provided him with an Excel Document with ALL of our items that were being moved. This estimate was completed and my new cost was 19,934.32 and had almost doubled. This certainly did not make my day and I asked Ryan how I could lower my cost. He explained that when the movers came they would do another estimate and that I would only be charged for the items moved.
My wife and I looked hard at all of our furniture and items and decided to get rid of some large items to see if we could lower our cost. We threw out two office desks, 2 chairs, a kitchen table and chairs, a large bean bag chair, 2 coolers, a mirror, shelving material, plant stand, 2 file cabinets, 2 end tables, and several other items that I do not recall. We had hoped that this would lower the cost a bit, but it certainly did not lower anything. In the end, I would pay approximately $22,000, double the original estimate.
On move day things went wrong right from the beginning. The move "preppers" came and although not asked to, they wrapped numerous items and boxed up things that had been taped up and marked by us prior. The markings were so that we would know what and where items would go when we got to our new home. As an older retired couple (and a 100% disabled combat veteran) obviously it mattered to us where items would be placed as we did not have the physical capability to move some of these items ourselves.
The total cost for wrapping and boxing items, which we did not discuss or ask for was $893.00....WOW! Also, since the Truck could not get up our driveway, we were charged another $1,050.00. Although I thought the movers worked hard and seemed to be doing a good job, It wasn't till after we were moved that we discovered issues. While in NY and moving we had placed items in the garage that we were transporting in our vehicles along with some items that were being thrown out. At one point, one mover asked if he could have an item and I said, "yes, that is fine." Little did we know that later on that day after the movers left, we noticed that the movers had helped themselves to several items without asking. Not a real big deal, but there were several items that we were moving that we now had to replace.
After everything was loaded onto the truck and ready to be moved. We received a call that our items were enroute to Texas and would arrive on Dec 5. Although I had discussed the delivery date and everything on the shippers documents stated Dec 9. Now I had to call Safe Ship and sort this out. The woman stated that our items had been loaded from the little truck that had been at our home and placed on a Semi-truck and were heading to texas. I stated that the items were NOT on a little truck that they were placed on a Semi-truck and that I had spoken to the driver who stated he would deliver them 0n Dec 9. Just another example of confusion and the woman on the phone did not believe me until I sent a photo of the Semi in front of my home..UGH
After arriving at our new home, we discovered numerous issues with items that were broken, along with items that were missing. In addition, items that were supposed to go in different rooms and floors were placed in large wardrobe boxes and mixed up. Again, we did not ask for items to be boxed up in large wardrobe boxes, but nevertheless we certainly got stuck paying for it!
All in all, our experience was horrible. We will NOT recommend Safe Ship to anyone. I will eventually go on Google and Social Media and contact BBB to express my displeasure with the whole experience. I think it is horrible to advertise your company as a "Moving Company" when you are Brokers. Again, as a 100% Disabled Combat Veteran I feel like I was taken for a ride by Safe Ship....and it certainly wasn't a good ride! Please do not contact me as I do not want to discuss this matter any more. I just want to put this horrible experience behind me. If and when you read this and you want to make a good faith gesture and return some of my money that I was overcharged, that might help, although, that is probably highly unlikely.

The guys worked really hard. They were on time and efficient. Nothing was damaged. The only problem was the crazy mixed up scheduling. I don’t understand why it was changed so much. I admit one change of mine was because my destination was delayed due to carpet cleaning service was running behind.

The service and quality of service was impeccable. The workers were highly skilled and did an excellent job of packing and care for our furniture. They utilized their skills to pack our items so there was no wasted space and although they had a second truck on site if needed they were able to pack all our items in one truck ultimately saving me money. Pros: Friendly, veteran owned company with responsive customer service. Cons: Were not fully informed and misled in thinking that the price quoted was for final destination.
1. We asked for NYC destination and was not told that there would be another charge for a shuttle to take our goods from large truck as the city cannot accommodate such trucks. Everyone knows that NYC would be different. It was in the contract fine print that additional charge would be assessed but was not highlighted by signing agent. He pressed me to sign contract as quote would no longer be available after hang up phone so I did without reading fine prints.
2. Also told I can put items on hold any time during the move which proved incorrect as this decision has to be made prior to good being picked up, a little detail that contradicts what he told me. We signed up due to this 30 days hold capability because our final apt. was not confirmed as of the move but the application for the place was being processed. Turned out we did not get the apt. and needed our good stored. I called the day of the move to have it held and was told that they would accommodate eventhough the goods were just picked up. Turned out it was not true and goods were on their way across the country. In the end, we spent more money to have it moved to a storage facility.
3. Pricing: learned that Safe Ship is nothing but a broker for moving companies and take 50% of the price quoted. The actual movers only get 50% so if I knew, I would just try to find these independent movers myself. Not to say that it would be easy as these are sometime mom/pop organizations but I think next time I could find them myself and not rely on brokers like Safe Ship.

This is an amendment to an earlier review that I posted that has somehow become unreachable. SafeShipMoving set us up with “One of their best”, Citi Van Lines. Thus far this has been a nightmare since the day of pickup. It’s been 13 days since our House Hold Goods were picked up. We communicated with the company on the day our HHG were picked up and they told us it would take “3-5 days” for our items to arrive. This was not true, and after reaching out to the company directly they pushed the date back to a date 20 days after when they were picked up.
They eventually reached out to us and told us to expect our goods to arrive after “2-4 days”. This was also not accurate as our goods took almost 6 days to arrive. I say almost because our delivery occurred at 9:40PM on the 5th day. Not only was this an unreasonably late time but our delivery driver then posted our address on Craigslist asking people to show up at our home unannounced and help them unload our items. This was never communicated to us and we had to reach out to the driver after turning someone away at our doorstep for responding to the listing. If this is what SafeShipMoving considers “One of their best”, then I encourage anyone considering this company to steer well clear.

No complaints with how they worked. Only issue was they left a lot of empty tape rolls and wrapping on the floor when they left. Packing seemed to go smooth. Total cost of the move was about $4000 more than originally quoted however. This created a hardship due to the total cost of moving.

The movers arrived late due to traffic which is understandable. They packed everything up for me pretty quickly and I was impressed with their professionalism. Before leaving they basically asked for a tip which is pretty annoying. Other than that I have no issue with the service. I was called several times after the pickup presumably to get my feedback. I gave feedback over the phone but apparently that is not enough and you want me to fill this review out and I even have a minimum word count I have to adhere to like I'm doing homework or something. So that's kind of annoying too. As far as the pickup experience itself goes, well it was good. They worked quickly and efficiently and acted professionally if you don't consider the tipping thing and showing up late. So happy with the service but it could have been better probably.

Good service and timing. Customer service has been helpful. Which I don’t like is that company increased the estimate when they called to check the inventory and then they did it again the day of the moving based on the type of the mattress not the size. The moving guys were respectful.

Everyone that we spoke to throughout the process was courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our only bad experience happened when we were told that we needed to unload 3 tool boxes since they didn't lock. We estimated 13 boxes and that increased our estimate by $1000. When the shipper arrived he said that the tool boxes were small enough and didn't need to be unloaded so that amounted to wasted time and money. We had already been charged a flat bulk fee for each of them.

Just want to share my experience and learning. Despite Several calls with customer services team, I am writing to formally request the cancellation of my order (Job Number: DA *****66) and a full refund. I am appalled by the unprofessional conduct and pricing discrepancies I have experienced throughout this process. Initially, I was quoted $Z,ZZZ for the agreed number of items based on the pictures I provided to your sales team. However, I was later informed that the price had increased to $Y,YYY—an almost 84% hike—and subsequently reduced to $*,***. This still represents an outrageous 51% increase from the original quotation. To add insult to injury, I was left with three unacceptable options: Pay the inflated 51% higher price. Ship only 50% of the originally agreed-upon items. Lose my $2,300 refund entirely.
Let me be clear: I did not add any additional furniture or request any modifications to the items listed. the initial evaluation was based on the very same pictures I provided, and the original quotation should have been honored accordingly. This bait-and-switch approach is raising serious concerns about your company's standards of customer service.
I consider these practices to be a breach of trust and a violation of fair business code of conduct (to increase price by almost 84% just four/five days before the moving day). Forcing customers into unreasonable choices—either paying significantly more or forfeiting a substantial amount of money—is unacceptable. Customer service are not friendly at all, rather trying to find solution, offering good customer services, the most precious commodity we have is our credibility. By the way, I sent several e-mails over the last 48hrs trying to find solution, with no response at all, was ignored completely. I am a senior +60 old, I don't have the time/health to go through this experience and stress.

I was drawn to the concept of using a Veteran owned company as my wife and myself are both Veterans. Unfortunately when their carrier arrived I was charged a magical additional $3500. Customer support only made it worst by the rationalization of not giving the service requested and making excuses. I asked for a supervisor multiple times to be told I am speaking to one. I was offered to talk to another but the transfer never happens. Do not trust this company and please read others reviews or live with the regret like I have.

First Class Movers was a great experience with impeccable service. I was helped by Anthony, Daniel, and Kelvin. They were simple, straight to the point, chill, yet detailed and protective of my stuff. They were able to move quickly with a short elevator reservation even after a full days work upon arriving.

Our moving experience from Southern Ca to Northern Ca went perfectly as explained to us. Safe Ship took great care packing our household items. I was so nervous because our things had to be put in storage for a couple of weeks before they could be moved up North. when the time came they arrived when promised and unloaded all of our things. The guys were great and brought everything in our new house and put back together the items that had to be disassembled in order to transport. I will definitely refer them to anyone looking for a reliable moving company.

The team arrived early and patiently waited for me to arrive. They were fast and careful and made sure everything was accounted for. They moved quickly so the process was easy. I just moved long distance for the first time since 1997 and using a moving broker for the first time. They delivered on their promise and the moving company hired was great. They were on time for the pickup and finished in 4 hours. Delivery was the same. I cannot complain about the service provided. I was disappointed that they left boxes and material they provided after unpacking our furniture. Just one more thing we have to deal with.
Our overall experience was good but I didn’t like the scheduling process. Our date was 12/10 but we wouldn’t know for sure until 12/9. We also paid for expedited delivery with the guarantee of 1 to 3 day delivery but no commitment to a specific date. The mover asked when I would like delivery. I asked for 12/12. He was fine with it but then came back and told me his boss said it had to be 12/11. That meant I had to drive overnight to Alabama from North Carolina after being up all day to meet them at the house. I guess this is how it is done due to trucking laws but I am a planner and prefer to have specific dates upfront.

The two gentleman that did our mover, very professional, and very thorough. Everything got to its destination in great shape. They took great time and attention to make sure all of our boxes were packed nice and neat, and that nothing got broken. It was a real pleasure to have them do our move for us. The payment methods available were very convenient so I could pay online through Zelle, saving me a trip to the ATM to get cash when I was already pressed for time. Well organized and efficient with packing and delivery. Since I had 2 households to combine, there were a variety of service men. ALL of them were very considerate and treated personal things with extreme care!!! When I scheduled both moves, I didn’t realize that Safe Ship outsourced the actual movers. Also, I had expected follow up from Safe Ship before 4 months had passed.

Very good communication from everyone with several follow up calls. Customer service was friendly and helpful. The gentlemen who packed my shipment were awesome. My shipment has not arrived yet so this is just based on pickup. The service is expensive, especially for a small shipment due to their minimum size requirements.

From the first contact to the delivery day my concerns were met by this company in a professional manner. Actual movers were polite and hard working. On the schedule that was set up for pickup and delivery, all went well. Would use them again if I needed their service. Salesman found discounts for the job that I didn't know were available.

Upon delivery, he didn't unwrap or set up multiple large items (TV, toaster oven, didn't even bother unwrapping art, didn't unwrap, disassemble, or set up the guest bed!). NOT HAPPY! I'm in a wheelchair and can not do this by myself, so I'll have to hire a handyman! Called the day before pressuring me to make sure I got a money order correctly. I was told a check would be ok. Cost me $20 to Uber. Also, ordered expedited shipping and of course, it took the maximum time-4 days.

The moving experience we had with this company was great. The two gentlemen assigned to load my mother in laws belongings were amazing. They were polite, explained the paperwork well, made sure and made me aware of how some things were wrapped. They also worked very quickly, and cleaned up after themselves. Communicating between 3 different companies in 3 different states/time zones was not fun. I feel that Safe Ship moving company needs to work on their communication skills. Everyone was nice but gave wrong info most of the time. The actual movers did a fabulous job!! Very courteous. Handled my belongings as if they were theirs. And stayed in contact with me until the job was done.

I am actually going to write a detailed letter when I finish this whole process as there have been some things I haven't been happy with, and my focus is on getting to my destination. I am very happy with my part with Ricky B when I initiated this, and it was because of him I went with this company even though it cost more initially than other quotes I got, elsewhere. I am very happy with the actual moving company, even though I was under the impression it was with Safe Ship and it would be veterans that would be doing this, I didn't realize it was a broker situation. It was everything in between, from the QA phone call, to all the different individuals I spoke to (not that anyone was rude, just conflicting information), right hand not knowing what the left hand was doing. I've moved several times and this move has actually been the absolute most stressful one I've ever done. Again, happy with it so far but there's several details that need addressed.

This company is a total scam, the price hiked our move twice and tried for a third. Once the household goods got to our location there was a lot of broken items, dishes, furniture, and figurines. They lost my father shadow box, item that were from Vietnam and can’t be replaced. This was due to several move pack into one truck so when they had to get to ours they had to pull out other customers stuff and I figured that what caused these item to break. They charged me 8000 dollars to move from Nevada to Texas and tried to raise it to 12,000. All they want is your money, their customer service representative are condescending, and straight worthless. I conclusion don’t use this company

They were late arriving. Were hard to understand. But they did great work. Loading up the truck. Very respectful and professional. I can't say the same about the service department. The man was rude and lied straight up to me about what he said just moments before. I won't use them anymore ever. But also I haven't gotten done yet so who knows what other crap they might try to pull.

Kevin ** helped me initially and was fantastic to work with. Closer to move, there was a few hiccups, but overall was a very good experience. Great moving team that communicated well and was proactive. Everyone was willing and able to answer questions as needed and customer service was great. The guys called before showing up, they communicated everything that was happening and gave me plenty of detail. They were quick and efficient and helpful. I really appreciated having them there. They were very patient and the pick up process only took an hour for my two bedroom apartment. The pricing was better than what other companies quoted me and they were able to make this happen in very little time.

Updated on 12/16/2024: Nothing has increased my rating. This company promised my dad a check to cover the damages and lost TV, however they have not provided that payment. Not only have they not paid, they have tried to use this review as leverage to send the payment, saying they would send payment as soon as this review was taken down. Unscrupulous behavior and I am not interested in being bullied. I plan to write this story, take the video and photos that I have, along with an interview of my dad and send this information to my friends at national news organizations.
Original Review: My 81 year old father used these guys to move from South Dakota to Arizona. They told him to expect his items in 10 days... It took a month. When he would call to talk to them they gave him the runaround and zero answers. When his stuff did finally show up, he was missing boxes including a 55 inch TV... This guy, Stan **, who owns the company puts you off. Taking advantage of an 81 year old veteran. Do Not Use.

I was given a $3500 estimate, turned into a $7300 actual cost for less than a 1/4 of a semi worth of stuff. The sales rep Greg, assured me even if we added some extra items, it wouldn't be more than $4300, but it final cost showed this was a lie. This "service" isn't worth it. They are only a broker, and overcharge for what they actually do. Once they get paid, don't expect any sort of communication, reply or help from them. They rope you in, then you are stuck with who they assign to you.
They will hire a low bid company that will nickel and dime you at every opportunity, and you are at the mercy of what kind of crew you get as they use subcontracted labor. We got lucky and ours at least packed ok (4 items damaged, 3 lost boxes). The delivery guys were schemers, offered to waive the extra walking fee for a bigger tip (they will rob each other for money). Either U-haul, get a Pod, or just find a quality mover on your own. It will be cheaper, safer and less stress.

My pick up experience with Safe Ship was relatively good. A few things that could improve:
- The truck that arrived for pick up was not the same as what I was told would arrive. I was told a Wayflower truck would pick up my things and it was a Ryder truck (apologies if this is the same company but I wouldn’t know if it is). Not a huge deal but a bit intimidating when three men are arriving in a different truck than told.
- The movers were efficient but not really personable. I didn’t feel like I was the customer, more like someone present to sign things and then wasn’t told what next steps would be for all of my belongings. When I specified which boxes contained fragile items I didn’t receive confirmation that they would be treated with more care than the other things or what that process would be.
- It seems a lot of things were not transparent when I booked this service. When booking and during the QA, I was told the delivery window would be 5-14 days but on day of pick up, I was told it could take 22 days from the ship date to receive my things. There are also a lot of additional charges that weren’t flagged when booking.
- The 75 foot surcharge was unclear. The distance being greater than 150 ft is valid but I wasn’t showed the measurement and wasn’t present for the measurement so the additional $150 dollars was sudden and unexpected and I didn’t not feel comfortable asking to better understand.
- The potential surcharge for a shuttle without being told that my things would arrive on a semi beforehand was alarming.
I understand these additional charges are for services that were not originally discussed, however I didn’t know they were a potential in the first place. I’ve read good things about Safe Shop and I appreciate how available the customer service is, the only thing is that at time of actual service I felt more like I was just being told to pay more money on top of the total price and yet I still feel nervous about the care of my items.

I made terribly choice choosing Safe Ship to ship my belongings. My storage unit was 5x10x10 and not even have full, my initial quote was 2,400 but I accidentally told them my unit was full but meant the floor was full, the price went up to 3,800 (that was my mistake). Unfortunately I was not able to convince anyone so price stayed 3800. When they called about it they said they could refund 600 if I signed a NDA so I did but they reneged on the offer.

The paperwork was explained and finalized and my boxes and items were removed quickly, quietly and efficiently from my home. I will meet with the truck at my storage unit when the items arrive to FL.
