** Alex and Tilek. The best guys ever. This crew rescued me in a desperate time, was very kind and worked their tails off, they moved my whole house in 5 hours and were so careful with all of my belongings.
That's amazing to hear—sounds like you had a fantastic crew that really came through for you. Thanks for sharing!

So far so good. Everything‘s been going as planned. This is my first time ever using a moving company online. I was pretty skeptical, but again so far so good. My pick up driver Ramon has been very communicative and beyond helpful!! I will more than likely use Safe Ship in the future.
We’re glad to hear everything’s going smoothly so far, and that Ramon has been so helpful and communicative. It’s completely normal to feel skeptical at first, especially with your first online move, but we appreciate your trust and are happy things are on track. Thanks for the kind words—we look forward to helping you again in the future!

Low integrity would be too high a compliment. They send confirmation texts that your vehicle has been picked up with a phone number "if this is inaccurate" to people that have not even agreed to do business as an attempt to get an inbound call from you. Very spooky behavior.

Absolutely HORRIBLE company! They price hike you, steal your belongings, and will take full advantage if you screw up somehow or don't manage to declare every belonging or elect into full valuation coverage. Watch yourself. They are the Spirit Airlines of moving!!!
We hear your frustration and understand how upsetting this experience was. Price changes can happen if the inventory or services differ from what was originally estimated, but that should always be communicated clearly. As for missing items or valuation coverage, we know how critical it is to feel your belongings are protected throughout the process. We never want anyone to feel taken advantage of, and we take accusations like theft seriously. Please give us a call so we can look into your move specifically and address these concerns directly.

Horrible, unethical company that uses bait-and-switch tactics, provides incompetent service, and fails to honor commitments. They refused to give us a confirmed delivery date unless we paid an extra $900 — otherwise, we’d be stuck with a vague 1–10 day window. What customer moving out of state can sit around for up to 10 days with no belongings? Even after we paid the $900 out of desperation, they were still a day late. Pickup was equally bad: scheduled for 8 a.m., they didn’t arrive until 5 p.m. My husband had been waiting at the house since early morning.
When our things finally showed up, several items were broken or damaged — art, a table, lamps, and valuable artifacts — all because of careless packing. Boxes were mislabeled and crammed with random items, making unpacking a nightmare. They refused to move any liquids, not just cleaning supplies but even harmless items like shampoo and soap, which meant we had to throw out hundreds of dollars’ worth of products. They even refused to move a toilet brush! Some items never arrived at all. The final insult: they delivered a chest upside down. That sums up their lack of care.
Customer service was a joke. Every attempt to escalate got us stuck in a voicemail loop to low-level staff who “didn’t know where the driver was” and couldn’t even confirm what day our belongings would arrive. We left messages for leadership — no one ever responded. It felt like they were holding our possessions hostage.
I’ve moved many times, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. We are seriously considering legal action for breach of contract, and at minimum will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. Do not be fooled by their lowball quotes. Once you sign, the hidden charges, incompetence, and stress begin. If I could give negative stars, I would.
A 1–10 day delivery window is standard for interstate moves; a guaranteed date is a premium service and priced accordingly. Pickup ETAs can shift due to routing and federal hours-of-service rules. Liquids and other spillable items aren’t accepted for safety reasons. For damaged or missing items, please submit a claim so we can review under your valuation coverage and investigate with the assigned team. Refunds are available only if the order is canceled within 72 hours of signing the bill of lading. Share your move ID and we’ll audit the file and outline next steps.

Beware and don't use. They have a 72-hour cancellation policy, but don't tell you that they wait till it's inside the 72 hours to give you the final total of the move. For example, my move turned out to be 7k more than the initial quote. When I told them I couldn't do that amount, I lost my deposit because it fell inside the 72-hour window. Garbage business practices. Go elsewhere, where they value honesty throughout the process.

Don't even do it! Research the many complaints unresolved on BBB. I wish I had! I went from a quote of a little over $5k from this broker to the mover wanting over $10k. Who claimed my list I provided in detail to the broker and signed off on, didn't describe my move accurately! No matter how many times I tried to point out that it was accurate! I went from an overfriendly rep reassuring me the quote was accurate to a very rude, aggressive and hateful mover saying it wasn't! And threatening to hang up on me! No great customer service once you deal with the mover for sure! Your deposit is only refundable up to 72hrs after you give it. But your mover that doubles the price calls after that 72hr window. Giving you no way to actually get a refund of your initial deposit. Instead you are told your deposit will be held for any future use you might have with this very ill ran company. I backed completely out once they tried to pull this crap on me!
The way they require you to pack your stuff will also result in you needing a "bigger truck". They use a lot of very scammy tactics to up your quote to being over double the price! Read the reviews. Not on their site! But on the BBB website! Even though they got to keep over $2k of my money for doing nothing! It was still cheaper to rent the same size Uhaul, hire uhaul move help to load and unload and drive the truck ourselves. Then it would have been through this company! Who I'm reading waits weeks to deliver your stuff that meanwhile sits in an undisclosed warehouse and subject to breakage and theft at! Whereas if you drive the uhaul you have complete control over your stuff available the same day and your eyes on it. Don't fall for this company's shady business tactics! I guarantee if you do your research like I should have off their site! You will definitely not want to. Everything I read after the fact was 100% accurate in my experience with them.

First estimate increased by 6K after deposit given and less items than originally thought. Did a HORRIBLE job packing and many items broken due to bad packaging. Refused to place items where needed even though they were informed that the delivery home was two story. Required to pay extra for stairs even though they were informed (and it was stated in the contract) before they would agree to release our stuff. Even then, they refused to take many items downstairs. After making an initial review with the BBB, I received a phone call asking me to delete my review.

When I called Safe Ship I over estimated my move and they said if it is less then we will reimburse you. I had 5 less boxes and less furniture and they charged me around $800 more!! I called and called and no one cared. But the moving company, Direct Relocation Services was good and made it right. They cared. I would call Direct Relocation Services directly.
Original Review: Sept. 22, 2025
I told them that we would have 30 boxes and gave them a description of everything we were moving. They said the most it would be is $3959. We removed some furniture from our list that we did not take and only had 15 boxes yet they charged us $700 more!!! They would give us a time they would be there and would not show up then we call and they give us another time this happened. Many many times in two days.
Finally we told them if they do not show up our then our contract is voided. So they finally got someone there at 10:30pm! Then they could not tell us when our furniture would be delivered just between two and 12 days! They would only tell us the night before it was being delivered and of course it was delivered on the 12th day! When the movers finally showed up to deliver, they made us pay another $300!! of course, holding our furniture hostage. They also lost our vacuum cleaner. It took them almost 4 hours to unpack a small one bedroom. They owe us money and we’ll never get it. Do not use the service. Even the Mover said that they charged us way too much which I know they did.

Deceptive tactics! They’ll reel you in but then hire movers who are not certified just to get your money. Unfortunately, I lost $1,200 because they have a three day cancellation policy. It should’ve been a red flag when they told me that I’d have to pay for half of the move up front using cash, cashiers check or a money order. I’d also have to pay for the other half of the move using the same payment methods. I should’ve listened to my gut instincts but I didn’t.

Not sure how their actual moving service is as I didn't even get past the phone. I got one of the most ignorant people I have ever had to deal with on the phone. This is our first state to state move, we are moving our daughter, so I had a lot of questions. I asked how long the whole process was from pickup to finish. He stated 4-5 days. I politely asked "oh, 4-5 days?" And he says, "well it's not going to teleport itself down there." I said, "Okay, I'm just trying to figure out the logistics of everything." He says.. "If a family of 5 can figure it out, I'm sure your daughter can" and then he hung up. I guarantee this coward wouldn't speak this way to someone in person. I have been managing a service business with 38 employees for the past 33 years. I would fire one of my people if they spoke like this. If you plan on calling these people, God forbid you ask questions.

Mine was unlicensed and got into a wreck and supposedly lost all my stuff. I lost everything I own. Do not hire them. I don’t know how they are still operating as they are a scam. Get a moving pod or be ready to lose everything you own and have to file a lawsuit to get fair compensation.

Not to put to find a point on it, but these guys are total scumbags. They quoted my elderly mother-in-law a suspiciously low price to pack and move all her belongings into a storage unit and then, once she has a new house, to move her from the unit to the new house. When they arrived at her house, they told her they demanded cash to pack her before moving her. When they got to the storage unit, they demanded MORE cash for the packing materials, telling her they would unwrap everything if she didn't pay them, even demanding to follow her to an ATM so she could get more money. Eventually, they accepted the cash she had in her pocket (about $150) and told her she's on her own moving from the storage unit to the new house.
None of this is what she signed up for--not to mention that this behavior (demanding cash on the spot and talking about following people to ATMs) is wildly inappropriate. If my husband hadn't taken the morning off work to be with her (because his spidey senses were going off after the demand for cash to pack up her house), I'm not sure she wouldn't have given them all the cash in her bank account. This is a very ugly operation. If you read this review and still hire them, then I guess you get what you get.

I do not recommend Safe Ship Moving Services. We moved from California to Louisiana, and the packers did a terrible job of making sure our things were secured so they wouldn't break. Upon arrival we found two antique dining room chairs broken, a chunk knocked off the leg of our china cabinet, 2 legs knocked off of a bookcase, a wheel missing from an antique chest, several pottery and glass items broken (and they packed us!), plus several more incidentals. They accidentally left 3 or our 6 large area rugs on the truck, and when they finally delivered them, only 2 of the 3 were ours. We received someone else's and I feel certain they got ours, but Safe Ship wouldn't do anything about getting them to the right customers.
We turned in a loss record several months ago and haven't heard a word from them. I don't expect to receive much (if any) compensation because we signed some paper in the midst of the craziness of packing the truck that says we only get $.63 per pound for damages. The broken things don't weigh much except the china cabinet, so we'll see.... NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE!

The company and I were able to resolve the issues.
Original Review: Sept. 17, 2025
Service Type: Long-distance move (West Coast to East Coast)Overall Experience: Disappointing due to pricing transparency issues.
As a first-time user of professional moving services, I selected Safe Ship based on their representation as a veteran-owned and operated company. However, I discovered after contract signing that they function as a broker rather than providing direct moving services.Initial Consultation Process.
Safe Ship conducted their estimate via Zoom video call, with a representative scanning each room and asking specific questions about items to be moved. They positioned this virtual assessment as more accurate than in-person evaluations, providing room-by-room estimates for boxes and containers needed.
Pricing Concerns
The most significant issue encountered was substantial price increases at multiple stages:
1. Initial Quote: Competitive estimate provided, including a "family friend discount" that undercut Mayflower's quote of $11,760
2. Pre-Move Adjustment: A few days before pickup, a phone call (not video) was conducted for "final item count." Despite having sold some originally quoted items, the price increased another couple thousand dollars
3. Day-of Adjustment: When Plymouth Van Lines (the actual moving company) arrived, the driver's assessment resulted in an additional increase
4. Total move cost: A move that was quoted $11,760 ended up costing $18,797
Service Structure
Important to note: Safe Ship operates as a broker and contracted Plymouth Van Lines to perform the actual move. The disclosure of their broker status was provided rapidly during the sales process, making it difficult to fully process this critical information.
Recommendations for Future Customers
• Seek companies offering guaranteed pricing rather than estimates subject to change
• Ensure clear understanding of whether you're working with a direct service provider or broker
• Request detailed written explanations of all potential price adjustment scenarios
Conclusion:
The multiple significant price increases created a frustrating experience. Future customers should carefully consider these factors when making their decision, particularly the potential for substantial cost variations from initial estimates.
Note: A separate review will be provided for Plymouth Van Lines as the actual service provider.

At the start of the process, I was confident in the moving company. I worked well with Jeffery. He was my initial “rep” for my quote and the start of my move. He communicated well and explained in great detail. He was kind enough to apply a military discount since we are an active duty family. Once the move got closer, I started working with Micheal. We went through a final walkthrough of our belongings. We removed a full queen size bed/bed frame since we sold the bed before the move and added 4 boxes. Adding the four boxes, added on $1,100 in total?? But we removed a large piece of furniture. It was explain that the boxes took up for square footage, but removing the bed set didn’t do anything or give us more space to work with? Didn’t seem right to us. We also are only moving a small one bedroom apartment.
Once the movers arrived, we were not informed that we were sharing a truck. Not a big deal, but would’ve been nice to know that our belongings were going to be mixed in with someone else’s. KEEP IN MIND, this was our first time using movers, so this was all very new to us. The movers that came, had a dog in the back of their truck? They let the puppy roam around while they packed our belongings. I watched the puppy because I didn’t want the poor thing to run into the street or get ran over. Of course I enjoyed the puppy, how could you not? BUT it was very unprofessional, as well as seemed unsafe for the dog to be locked in a kennel in the back of their moving truck.
The movers arrived after one business day, which was awesome! Unfortunately, there was damage to our dining room table and chairs. They also were not careful moving the couch around in our new living room and scratched up our new hardwood floors. Days have passed and I noticed that my large area rug SMELLS LIKE DOG PEE. Seems a little coincidental. Overall, there were highs and lows with this moving company. I appreciate how quick they were to drop my belongings off in a new state, but it was very unprofessional and I would much rather use a U-haul next time.

I felt so defeated and disappointed after our services with Safe Ship Moving Services/Father and Sons. They ended up losing one of our packages that they themselves packed for us, they even entered it on the inventory sheet and still have no word on it, we have emailed and called them multiple times to ask for the whereabouts and they continue to give us the information for a claims. We had stuff packed that we will never get back and can never replace. They don't care. How is YOUR company going to pack a box and lose it, that's such a liability and you still don't take the time to check your warehouse or anywhere. Disappointed. Everything was delivered EXCEPT the one box they packed, that's so shady. Updating my review as I did receive my truck, 16 days after we left MI, within the 7-21 day window. Both the original packing company ‘Fabri’ and the final delivery company ‘Across America Van Lines’ did an excellent job, the staff were courteous and hard working. Would I ever use Safe Ship again? That’s huge ‘NO’ after the tactics employed to relieve me of an additional $10k, on top of the ‘Estimated’ cost, after a virtual survey of our house contents by Safe Ship … I mean what was the point of the survey??! If you want a budget move, where you have to help unpack and assemble furniture yourself, but you want to end up paying the equivalent of a premium moving package, then go right ahead and sign these up!
Original Review: Sept. 9, 2025
I wish I had read these reviews before signing up to use Safe Ship, I was the victim of a text book Bait and Switch !, I was quoted a low price for a move from MI to CA ($15,600) based on a virtual survey of the items in our 3,500 Sq, ft. House. I paid a sizable deposit, thus securing my move date. Approx 2-3 days before the move date, when it was too late to cancel and find somebody else, I got a call from a gentleman under the guise of 'Quality Assurance', who informed me that I had too much stuff to fit on half a truck. I told him that they did a survey and worked out the amount of space required, and I had been told by sales that I was getting a dedicated truck?, but apparently they didn't factor in Boxes??, how convenient!!. It was made very clear me that I had to pay another $10k immediately or miss my moving date, which was not an option as the buyers were moving in the day after.
The sub-contract moving team from 'Fabri?', arrived on moving day and packed our stuff, only one of the guys spoke English and the truck had no name on the side, no registration plates, just a label on the door, (Image below), I was advised by the foreman that a tip of $100 each would be 'appropriate' for each of the 4 guys, so I gave them $70 each and $100 to the foreman, it felt like protection money, I was also 'instructed' to leave a positive review about Fabri, which I did.
I then drove from MI to CA with my family, which took 5 1/2 days, when I arrived I called Safe Ship 'Customer Service' I was on hold for 37 minutes before being told that my house contents were still in MI?, in storage??, and shipping would take another 7-21 days??, nobody seems to be able to give me a more precise date?, and I'm now very concerned about the whereabouts and safety of my house contents....
This felt like a well planned, well executed scam, I feel so stupid that I ever trusted these people - so now we're sleeping on the floor waiting for our stuff to arrive, I was on hold for 45 minutes yesterday trying to get an answer from the 'Customer Service Team' - but nobody seems to know what's going on, they just refer me to the 7-21 day shipping time on the quote, I would expect a professional moving company to actually know where things are and when they are likely to be shipped??, I am not impressed, and if I could leave a minus 5 star review I would do it....

One star is not a low enough rating for this company. From start to finish, the communication from this company was terrible. We moved from Ohio to Seattle, WA and absolutely regret using this mover. We were not updated on when our stuff was arriving or where it was at. If we wanted any sort of information we had to call and be put on hold several times. At one point, we asked to speak to a manager and were told one would be in touch. We never heard from them. When our items arrived, the movers couldn't start unloading because their paperwork didn't match what we had signed with the company. The movers' paperwork said that we were on the first floor, but we had clearly said we were on the second, and that was in the contract we signed. We were on hold with the office for almost 30 minutes trying to get this sorted and ended up paying an additional fee for the stairs.
It was obvious from the state of our boxes that they had been thrown around. There were boxes that were split open down the sides, falling apart. Our boxes marked "FRAGILE" had clearly been crushed, the boxes dented and deformed. Our TV was dented, resulting in part of the screen not working and the mover told us that the damage was our fault. One piece of furniture with detailing on the side was shattered, despite being wrapped in a moving blanket. Our computer monitor was cracked in several places despite being bubble wrapped several times and carefully packed. Many of our fragile items were completely shattered or broken. It was clear the boxes had just been tossed about with no thought or care.
Before they even tried moving it, they told us our couch wouldn't fit up the stairs. We asked them to try since we had measured and were fairly certain it would fit. They managed to get it partially up the stairs before saying, "see it doesn't fit" at which point we took over ourselves. The couch fit just fine. One of our boxes was missing and we were promised it would be found. When it was located, the movers put the box in an Uber to send to us. Then he asked us to pay for the Uber ourselves! We were disrespected through this entire process, blamed for damages, and belittled. There is a completely lack of courtesy in this business. NEVER use them. You will regret it.

I would like to retract my review. They reached out and made things better. Our things were delivered with care by hard working respectful movers.

I would never recommend this company. They need to learn how to vet their third party movers. We spent over $14 grand for this moving company. Plus, prior, utilizing the largest pod, which isn't cheap. We have had zero communication and have been promised multiple dates on the delivery of our HOME. Now, day 10 officially, but no, movers go by business day and holidays. Mind you, they drive 7 days a week. So now, day 10, they have 6 more days per contract due to our move falling during Labor Day. We have no knowledge of the location of stuff or when it will arrive. We have had to buy mattress toppers and normal household things just to live. Insane expenses that should never have occurred. We are a family of five. And on a side note, our kids are in a new state, starting new schools, sleeping on the floor. Worst, worst, experience I have ever had. Please do your research, there are so many better moving companies out there.

This company was AWFUL! Quoted me 2k under apparently. Even though I told them item by item what was in my place and had a full spreadsheet of inventory. When they got to my apartment, that I had to be out of that weekend, of course they said it was an upcharge. I was moving across country so this was already expensive. But I paid it because they had me and there was nothing I could do about it.
Then once the shipment landed from “A &D moving”, so they don't even move your stuff they just outsource, there was about 5k worth of stuff missing. I had two flat screen 55” tv’s gone, weight room hammerstrength hammers, two pieces of art and a rower. Honestly I am probably underestimating. Then when I called the broker who set me up to help, they basically said “not my problem” and there was no recourse to make right. Trust me just go to a local mover who does cross country trips. Even though it is not the cheapest, you won't have this experience.

Don't do what I did. It's the worst move experience I have ever had in my lifetime. On the pickup the movers just left furniture when the truck was full. So I have to drive to get my stuff. On the delivery have been waiting since the 13th of August. Now it's September 3rd with no idea when the delivery will happen. When you call they always say that "your stuff is on the truck" and call back in a few days. No Logistics. No Truck tracking. A third party will go to a fourth party for delivery. When I signed up. The sales person said I that a truck is already for you and will have your delivery in a day or two. It's all lies and deception. Also total bait and switch program.

Safe Ship is an absolutely horrible company. Our experience was pretty much exactly like the other negative reviews posted here. My husband and I moved from Florida to Texas in August. We were given an initial quote that was competitive with other nearby moving companies, so we decided on Safe Ship, under the impression that it was a reputable company. To obtain this quote, we told them every single item in our apartment that would be coming with us, including an estimated box count. We paid the deposit, and continued our packing.
A couple weeks later, we received a call to schedule a follow up phone call to update the list of what would be moving. This phone call would be held 3 days before the movers were scheduled to come. On this phone call, we updated our list, adding a few items, but took some away as well. Once the list was updated, the broker, Kevin **, told us that the updated estimate was $5,500 more than the initial one because of all of the "extra stuff" we added. Again... some was added... some was taken away. This phone call was at 6:30 pm at night. We asked if we could call back tomorrow--Kevin said we had to have it done that night, no exceptions. We asked what we could take off to get it back to our original estimate--he said he couldn't tell us due to legal reasons? We asked to cancel and refund--he said we would lose our couple thousand dollar deposit.
The more options we explored and threw out for consideration, Kevin began to get more and more annoyed, talking down to us, saying we wouldn't understand the need for the space increase since we aren't "professional movers or packers." Eventually, we took away the expedited shipping cost we had on initially, any extra packing materials offered by them, and said we would ship all of the boxes ourselves (53 boxes) if they would move the furniture. Somehow we still ended up having to pay over a thousand more than our initial estimate, even taking off the $1500 expedited shipping and the other modifications. We had to pay $350 for a pull-along U-Haul in addition to the moving truck with Safe Ship due to the lack of transparency of this business.
The movers themselves were great. They were super respectful, efficient, and careful with our stuff. However, they told me they don't work for Safe Ship, but they are subcontracted out by another company. The truck is also not owned by safe ship and is also sub-contracted out, which is why our stuff was unloaded in a warehouse in Atlanta for two weeks before any effort was made towards getting it to Texas. We had an empty apartment aside from a single camp chair, the boxes, and an air mattress for over a week before the furniture was finally delivered.
For timeline purposes, they picked up the furniture on a Saturday, we moved to Texas on the Tuesday after, and we didn't get our furniture until the next Thursday. Every time we called, they (obviously annoyed) told us it would be delivered 1-10 days from the date we listed as our move-in date and that they couldn't tell us when our stuff would arrive past that. It was like pulling teeth to even find out where our stuff was at all, but each time we found out it was still in the Atlanta warehouse where it had been since the night it was taken from our apartment. There are many more nitty gritty details, but I will leave it at that for now. All in all, stay far away.

Had some issues regarding broken items, but Ashley at Safe Ship was very responsive and helpful in correcting the issues.
Original Review: Sept. 3, 2025
We could not be more disappointed with our move. We hired full-service movers hoping to reduce stress, but instead, it tripled it. Major issues we encountered included:• Bait-and-switch pricing: We were given an unrealistically low quote based on a misleadingly small estimate of boxes, only to have costs increase later.
• Damaged items: Many boxes were crushed, our expensive couch arrived filthy, and large items like our 55” TV, queen bed, and TV stand were destroyed.
• Missing or incorrect items: Several boxes never arrived, a Dewalt drill set in its bag disappeared, and at delivery they even tried to hand us someone else’s dresser.
• Property damage: They put a hole in our wall during the move and then denied responsibility.
• Poor accountability: Safe Ship Movers distances itself by saying they only hire subcontractors, accepting no accountability for the service provided.
To make matters worse, their “insurance” coverage is insulting—compensation based on weight at 60 cents per pound. That means for our $400 TV, we would receive only $12. If this is typical of a moving company I am amazed that they still exist.

My experience with Safe Ship Moving Services was extremely disappointing, and I want to share it so others can make an informed decision. From the very beginning, communication and customer service were poor, and once they had my payment, it became nearly impossible to get clear answers. Most of the time, representatives had no idea where my belongings were. I was given the same vague line over and over: “you should get your stuff between Monday–Wednesday of next week.” Weeks passed with no delivery. I eventually had to research on my own and discovered that another company, Rigo’s Delivery, Moving and Storage, was the one actually handling my items.
Here’s the timeline: my things were picked up on June 24th but not delivered until July 20th—almost a full month later. Instead of moving directly to Idaho (less than 1,000 miles away), my items were shipped to California, where they sat until July 5th. From there, it still took 15 more days to arrive. That’s 26 days total for a relatively short-distance move, which is absolutely unacceptable. Overall, Safe Ship Moving Services did not provide the reliable, professional service they advertise. Based on my experience, the glowing reviews they promote are highly questionable. I cannot recommend this company and strongly caution others to look elsewhere for moving services.

Edson at Safe Ship worked with the owner of ASAP Moving LLC to compensate me for the broken television. He was highly professional, and his efforts were greatly appreciated. The owner of ASAP movers was also gracious and worked with me in compensation. Both listened and considered ways to improve the communication process between Safe Ship and its carriers. I would recommend Safe Ship and ASAP Movers, LLC!
Original Review: Sept. 1, 2025
I moved my elderly mother from Washington to California with little time to fully research movers. That was my mistake! Initially, Safe Ship appeared to be a reputable company, but from the onset it proved deceptive: -The representative did not disclose Safe Ship as a moving broker. This proved to be a major problem once the move started. -Little, if any, communication between Safe Ship and the moving company, ASAP Movers, LLC. "Sam" at Safe Ship had cleared the use of my credit card for all payments during the move. ASAP or the final moving company had no record of such an arrangement. Even after getting a cashier's check from my credit union for the final drop off, those movers didn't want to accept that either. They finally did accepted it, but like the previous experience with ASAP, it delayed the moving process and was a stressful experience. Both movers wanted Zelle or cash payments--a little sketchy.
-Damage: ASAP Movers did not pack my mom's smart television properly, resulting in it being damage and unusable. I filed a claim with ASAP and received a claim adjustment summary of $11.40. On top of that, the company requires the statement to be notarized at the cost of $15.00. Really?! -No Customer Satisfaction survey or phone call after the move. That says a lot. Bottom Line: Do NOT use Safe Ship!

Updated on 09/14/2025: Safeship got back to us and offered us $400 of the $2249 we paid for services not rendered! Go to their website and look at their cancellation-policy page. They never had anyone 3rd party. We dealt with Phillip (see contact below) via text asking about additional items and a new quote. After calling and leaving several messages with no replies, we got concerned this was a scam and asked for immediate cancelation. We didn't plan the move for almost a month later (orig quote was 6/11/25). They want to keep $1800.00 for services never rendered nor followed up upon.
When they offered the $400, they listened to actual calls but didn't follow up with the multiple voice mails we left. On one of their sites they mentioned be registered with the BBB Better Business Bureau, however, when we went to file a complaint it shows they are BBB Accredited. Again more deception. Then after the $400 offer, they asked us to remove the reviews even before we had any refund in hand. We asked for this to be escalated and it was not. Once again lots of deception. If anyone gave them positive reviews, they must have been paid to do so or they never received services.

Still they did not contact us by a phone call. They just emailed and said no money will be returned. This is a simple bait and switch. Initials called when over all items to be shipped. Give a price that was reasonable so it was accepted. Received a call a few days before move stating my original quote was incorrect and I needed more cubic feet.. I asked why was told that packaging and enough boxes were not quoted.. Asked why packaging was not quoted because I was asked and I told I had pictures and a glass credenza and a coffee table with glass.. He apologized and said it was not there and he didn’t want me to go over the cubic feet, because when the movers arrived they will charged me extra.. I told him I do not have that much stuff and the original quote I think would suffice. He said it wouldn’t and outlines that if I didn’t use all the space I would get my money back.. I said ok and agreed I paid an additional amount of money..
Moving day arrives movers looks at it and said it was and additional 3000.. Golden Glove mover out of Patterson NJ (thieves). I said no way it’s that much. I called back Safe Ship to get my original quote back spoke to Samantha (useless) who said that I have to keep second quote. I asked why she said that I needed the cubic feet. I said no I didn’t. I told the guy at the moving company not to package and the pics that would reduce my boxes.. He said he can’t reduce my boxes since safe ship gave him the contract with the quote.. I was upset so and thought my hands were tied.. I was like ok I will deal with this after.
They quoted me for 186 items with 936 cubic feet. I only took 54 items and they are saying it’s the cubic feet.. How can 54 items equals to 936 cubic feet..At the end of the move safe ship and golden glove's movers both said the move is done and there’s nothing they can do, since I needed to discuss with each company before the move.. So next steps…

BEWARE: Safe Ship WILL subcontract your move, and you will have no control over what company is assigned to your move. This week, a man who spoke very little English and was from Pakistan arrived at our move with a rented U-Haul (he didn't know how to back it up), two local day laborers (who were being paid only $200 each), and the cheapest appliance dolly that U-Haul rents. No moving blankets. No straps, ties, or ropes. These were NOT professional movers! The way items were loaded was sketchy and dangerous. He proceeded to damage our refrigerator by failing to remove the front door and attempting to shove it through. Then he began attempting to force us to pay the entire sum of money, even though we had already paid a $2,000 deposit. They wanted CASH and proceeded to try to hold our items hostage in the truck until we paid.
We finally called the police, the truck was unloaded on our lawn, and we were forced to pay the day laborers their $200 each; the man from Pakistan left. Safe Ship canceled our remaining contract, but the subcontractor continued to harass us and demand payment for the flight, hotel, and U-Haul rental for the "mover" they had sent. I don't know if this is how they always do business, but I would doubt we are the first people this has ever happened to since the "mover" was flying out to Washington at 4 p.m. that day to move someone else the next day.
We did not get the professional moving experience, the correct moving equipment, or the service we had contracted for with Safe Ship. Our move was a nightmare, and we ended up having to move all our items ourselves by renting a truck, a heavy-duty dolly, and obtaining moving blankets, straps, ties, and ropes from U-Haul.
It was undeniable that the subcontracted company made NO effort to spend the money to fulfill our contract. Pictures below show the truck EXACTLY as it was when loaded and ready to leave. This was only half of our stuff, but the mover did not know how to load the other half safely. Please note that the items at the top of the picture, located at the very front of the truck (the attic), are not strapped in and would have immediately dropped onto the other items. The refrigerator at the front of the picture is not secured and would have been sliding around the whole drive from one house to another. The glass front of the refrigerator would have been smashed by the heavy white TV stand on the truck bed (which was also not secured). This doesn't show the cramming of other wooden items against each other without blankets separating them.

I normally don’t write reviews but I had to this time to warn people before they hire Safe Ship. I wish there was an option for zero stars. The price I am sharing on this was the initial price but it more than doubled by the end. When I first contacted Safe Ship Moving everyone was great. Very kind and helpful. I got a quote (which ended up being much higher) and decided to book with them. When my items were picked up (by BOD and US) they arrived on time and were fast and efficient (thank you Eric!). And everything went downhill from there. They said it would take 2-12 days to arrive with my items and it ended up taking 14 days (not counting weekends). I had to keep calling to check and on Wednesday they said they would be here in 2-3 days.
3 days later I called to check and they said it would be another 2-3 days. I got a call the day after they told me that saying that they would be there that night (only an 8 hour warning. I was told they would let me know when they were 24 hours out). When the movers finally arrived they were slow and unprofessional, screaming and arguing with each other the whole time. They just threw everything in the apartment and didn’t put any of my furniture back together except for my bed, which when I moved it just a little bit, completely fell apart (it would have been dangerous if I had tried to lay on it first). I am still sleeping on the floor until I can figure out how to put my bed together and I most likely will have to hire someone to do it.
The unwrapping of everything was left to me (even though many were wrapped in their blankets). Some of my items were damaged and some were missing. They also brought in 3 items that were not mine (one of which was a hospital bed, which would have been left here had I not unwrapped it). They charged me 400 more dollars than I was told I would have to pay at dropoff just a couple days before. I realized once they got here that it was different moving companies that had packed up my stuff vs. dropping it off (drop off was by Trust Moving). Overall I had an extremely horrible experience with this moving company and would not recommend them to even my worst enemy.

Received called directly from Move With A Pro to resolve this issue.
Original Review: Aug. 28, 2025
I am hoping this review catches someone's eye, to learn from the mistakes I made. Please, for your sake, for your family's sake, do not book with this company. Like many people here. I have been swindled at every step of this process. The initial valuation, the price that was quoted to me was $3,300. I told by James **, that if I switched my days they would be willing to do the move for $2,800. I agreed and booked the service. On the call done 3 days prior to the move, the new person Thomas ** now quotes me the price of $3,600. I ask why there is almost a 1k difference. He tells me that it is because I added more thing; which I did, 4 gym bags and 2 backpacks. When I asked him to go over the list with me, he was exasperated telling me that would mean going through every item on the list. I told him to email me the list and we will go through it together. After a painstaking process, we got down to $2900. I paid and the pick up day was set.
Fast forward and the movers arrive. The company was "Move-with-a-pro". With them came additional fees; $50 distance fee per person ($100 total), additional packing fees of $200. There is nothing I can do at this stage of the game so I pay it. I ask the movers, when he thinks it can be there, he tells me the following Monday. Too good to be true, and it was. Monday comes, and no one with "Move-with-a-pro" is picking up my phone call. So I call Safe Ship Moving and speak to a representative named Xavier. He tells me that I signed for 1-10 business days and that he would send an "urgent" email and get back to me with an update.
I am writing this review on day 10. I called safe ship moving again as Xavier instructed me to do if I had not received my items in 10 business days. I got transferred to Xavier again, who is now telling me they have 30 days to bring my items. I ask him what the plan is as this is the second time now the plan has changed. He tells me he will send an "urgent" email. I told him to transfer me to a manager as he did nothing to help me for 9 business days. I speak to the manager who once again told me they will send an urgent email. I told him, that it is ridiculous that an email is the only way to reach the moving companies they hire and that I was able to reach the moving company not 10 minutes before I called safe ship moving customer service.
As a side note, Move-with-a-pro told me "no one will deliver your things for $1,000", so maybe avoid them too. After I told the manager at safe ship this, he finally called the moving company. Where it stands now, is that they will ship my things the following Monday, and to give 3-4 days after to get my things. God only knows if any of that is true and who knows what condition my belongings will arrive in if they arrive at all.
The bottom line is this. People at this company will blatantly lie to you multiple times. On top of this, there is no accountability and the people that this company hires are really terrible. If you, like me, have your hands full with family, starting a new job and multiple other stressors, this company is the absolute last thing you need to further complicate your life.

I asked for estimated delivery dates to the carrier and Safe Ship four times. Each estimate was incorrect. If everything is the responsibility of the carrier - WTF am I paying for? However, TWO days before they were coming to pick my stuff up, they raised the quote to 12,000 dollars, DOUBLE what they originally quoted me. All because I added one bedroom dresser. I understand that adding items will bump of square footage but that was ridiculous. I couldn’t afford the price jump, and asked to cancel my order. They informed me that I would lose my initial deposit of 2500 dollars if I did so. I then had to take off items for 2 hours on the phone because of the ridiculous claim that my items took up 500 more cubic feet then originally planned for.
The movers themselves aren’t even from safe ship, they’re contracted out local movers and are very friendly. Safe ship as a company sucks. They loaded my furniture Saturday night with the option of delivery 1-10 days. However, because I couldn’t be at the delivery location until the following Wednesday, they said it would 1-10 days from there. They DID NOT inform me of this when I chose the 1-10 days before option, nor when they asked when I’d be available. So I didn’t get my furniture until 14 days after they loaded it up. After calling multiple times during the waiting period, safe ship could not tell me where my furniture. It wasn’t until the 4th time I called they informed me it was sitting in a warehouse, the same place it had sat when they loaded it up. It sat there for over a week. DO NOT USE SAFE SHIP!

We had told Safe Ship exactly where we lived, and no moving company has struggled to double park there before. A member of our moving team was a freshman in high school. He told me. Our items took exactly a month to arrive, though it took us 6 days to drive here. We had no communication with the moving company, though I repeatedly called and left messages. The moving company finally called me 2 hours before arriving the morning of.
Their truck could not go over a small hump in the parking lot, and I was charged $350 extra for shuttle service, though regular sized uhauls fit in the lot. The mover said I could go rent a U-Haul and he would shuttle the items. When I called Safe Ship they said that pretty much all possible snafus were “in the small print.” When I asked if they could do anything for me in any way, they said no. When I spoke to the company, they said that if I got a U-Haul, that would be the end of their service to me and I would still have to pay full price but get different movers to move items in.
When I agreed to the outrageous shuttle fee, the mover’s brother, who I don’t believe works for the company, shows up in a Toyota truck. They didn’t say ahead of time that they don’t take Venmo or card. Banks are closed on Sundays. And I don’t have thousands in cash. This was an utterly terrible moving experience, with several antiques broken and it was clear the movers snooped through boxes because they left a binder of theirs in my re-taped box. Deeply unacceptable.

I feel stupid because I believed the company and not the reviews. They were very very convincing that I would have a good experience. My quote went up considerably after I had booked and it went up on details I felt we had covered before but I was already committed to them and didn’t have a house. I was willing to pay that huge increase just to get the move done. Now I am mad. The movers picked up today and gave me the amount to pay. It included money already paid to Safe Ship.
When I called Safe Ship and got all the way up to a manager, she spoke in circles and told me I am NOT getting money back. The amount on my final quote dated two days ago and the amount I have to pay movers is different, and NO it is not because I needed more space. They will say that’s why and blame me. It has nothing to do with that and is just a double charge. I tried to call my salesman because he said, "Call me if you have any problems." Guess what. His phone was disconnected. I have never written a review before, but this company needs to be stopped. I will never ignore this many bad reviews again. People are telling the truth.

I want to acknowledge how amazing Jennifer at Ciao Bella Moving has been throughout this ordeal. She has been in contact with me since the move. She has made every effort and continues to do so that we can track our belongings. They have offered to reimburse for our moving expenses with the U-Haul. I get things happen, but treat your customers with the care and respect you would want in return. Jennifer, thank you for all of your help!

We recently used them for a move. They contracted Ciao Bella Moving Co for the job. We paid for the "white glove service", which was a joke. We ended up having to rent a U-Haul to finish moving our things. Also, my son had expensive sneakers that were passed down to him by his late father that never made it to the new location - among other items. The moving guy who showed up pulled out a calculator and then proceeded to ask if we wanted everything moved. Well, YEAH. That's what we paid for. He showed up to the wrong house and called us to let us know he would be charging us per stair. Ha, wrong home buddy. AVOID SAFE SHIP. They do not understand the first thing about customer service and value. Jakob had an excuse for everything and his associates never responded although they provided their "personal phone numbers" in case we needed anything.

It confuses me how there are 4 star reviews of this company. They are a broker and make money simply by subcontracting to the lowest bidder. Do not use this company. They will offer no assistance and allow you to be ripped off. Please, please, please. Save yourself the trouble and direct hire rather than use Safe Ship. They advertise as military friendly but in reality they care until you pay them and then they do absolutely nothing to help. Do not use!!!

⚠️ DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY ⚠️ In my opinion — THIS IS A SCAM. In my opinion, Safe Ship is nothing more than a glorified middleman that charges thousands just to hand you off to a carrier — and then immediately disappears. Any “contract” you think you have with them is essentially worthless once they’ve collected your money. After that, you’re on your own.
The promised 2–12 business day delivery window? Utter nonsense. We’ve been waiting over a month for our belongings. Every time a new “guaranteed” delivery date comes and goes, we’re fed another excuse. Safe Ship’s response is always the same: “Don’t worry, we talked to the carrier. Next week for sure.” That line has been repeated to me three separate times, each time without results. At this point, I honestly have no reason to believe my things will ever arrive — and I can’t shake the feeling they may be gone for good.
To make matters worse, Safe Ship claims they’ll send you copies of your signed paperwork. They don’t. The only documents I ever received were the initial quote and vague assurances of delivery. Everything else has been smoke and mirrors. Without official paperwork or accountability, it feels less like I hired a moving service and more like I paid to have my household possessions vanish.
And here’s the kicker: when problems come up (and they will), all Safe Ship does is “make a note.” They won’t hold the carrier responsible, they won’t enforce the agreement, and they certainly won’t lift a finger to protect your interests. In my experience, Safe Ship is a costly, useless middle layer — and the entire ordeal has left me feeling duped. In short: If you value your time, money, or peace of mind, avoid Safe Ship. I cannot stress this enough — using them was one of the most regrettable decisions I’ve ever made.

Well so far they get 1 star because I cannot give 0. They called 3x yesterday to tell us our movers would be here at 8am. It's now 3:02 pm and the movers are still not here. Now they say it will be 3:30 due to traffic. We've experienced price fluctuations too many times. After 11k for a simple move, I'm just OVER IT.

Terrible communication between movers. It is a broker so the company that moves your belongings is not the company you initially do business with. With that said, customer service is non existent and moving company continually tries to tack on fees for every single thing they possibly can. Which in turn makes for very bad business as it is very shady. I would definitely not recommend or ever do business with this company ever again. If this had all went well I would have used them to move a 2600 square foot home which would have been good business for them. I do try to use veteran owned businesses but I would unfortunately not use them or recommend.

Original Review: Aug. 20, 2025
Don’t usually do this but if you read this review call me at ** so I can give you my full experience with Safe Ship. My takeaway is stay away. Horrible experience. Bait and switch tactics. Low class carriers. Initial quote to sign me up was 7.5K after a complete walkthrough of my house by a sales rep. Agreed and signed contract. Quality assurance called me four days before my move for another walkthrough (exact process) and my price increased from 7.5K to 15.5K. I needed to be out of my old house in four days post the quality assurance call so I was backed into a corner. The moving team they brokered didn’t bring a truck that could fit our increased quoted sq ft. We downsized all the boxes we paid for cramming our clothes in boxes vs all the boxes they quoted for us to hang our clothes.
Movers still had to strap all of our mattresses outside of truck. Result was we paid for more square footage in the revised quote that was less than the truck they delivered, and as a result they crammed the cabin of the truck which damaged ~30% of our furniture because it was literally crammed to the brim. We didn’t use ~50% of the boxes they said we needed in the final quote which was a primary driver on the 7.5K to 15.5K increase in price. Moving team they hired spoke broken English, had no products to reduce chance of things being damaged - our brand new house now has steps with deep gashes on 7/15 steps. When I called safe ship to recoup damages they make the process extremely hard and blamed the third party they contracted that actually did the move.

I just graduated from California and was moving to New York, and I was searching on Google hoping to transport my car via ENCLOSED method. I asked several transporters and got some great deals via messages/emails confirmation, but only Safe Ship required me to give them a call for the quote, and thus, despite being a 99% introvert, I called just hoping to get a even better deal. Since the information I submitted for the type of transportation already clarified I wanted an ENCLOSED service instead of OPEN (open means the car is transported without protections from rain/stones, etc.), so I didn’t mention anything related to that but just asked the person on the phone about the pricing and pickup/delivery dates, which were crucial to me, an insane ISTJ person.
During the phone call, he provided me with a price just slightly lower (~30USD) than the other company provided me for my ENCLOSED transportation, and he PROMISED me that the car will arrive between the 1-3rd of August, since I contacted them more than a month prior to the pickup time. I asked him what he suggest the pick up time to be, so I can be guaranteed having my car arrive on time and arrange my schedule accordingly, and he suggested 28-29th of July, so I agreed. He made me pay a 500+USD deposit right on spot, via phone call, so there wasn’t even a pricing breakdown nor a pick up date confirmation.
It was my first time experiencing someone waiting for me to sign the contract and provide card details directly to him while he’s waiting for me on the other side of the phone, so I was a little panicked and wanted to end this fast. I paid the deposit and suddenly realized I didn’t even make sure that the transportation is ENCLOSED or not, so I asked him right after he charged me…and unfortunately, it was OPENED!!! So I actually paid extra for this small company, because other big companies quoted me 100+USD less for this type of transportation method. But since he promised me that the car can arrive safely and TIMELY, so I just left it as it is.
After a month, finally on the 21th I received a message from Safe Ship and was told that my car can be picked up at late evening on the 29th or 30th so the car will arrive on the 8th..!! I told him I really need the car by the 3rd and if 28th doesn’t work I can also do 27th or even earlier. Guess what!!! He DISAPPEARED!!!! After sending him message on the next day (22nd), 23rd, and 26th, without any responses while watching the time approaching, I was exhausted and called the other person from Safe Ship (the person who charged me), and he also DISAPPEARED!!! No one replied to any of my messages!!! Finally, on the 28th, one of the person sent me a message saying they will have customer service reach out to me shortly, and I waited for the entire day, WITHOUT receiving the call!!
So I called them back on the 29th, and FINALLY was told that the carrier will come pick up on the 30th… Those unresponsiveness were NOT YET. When the carrier came and saw all the stuff I put in my car, he charged me for an additional 200USD, but I wanted to take to Safe Ship first before just giving the carrier whatever he asked for, and thus I didn’t give the carrier the 200USD right on the spot. What is CRAZY is that after they took my car away, they sent me a message saying I need to pay 600USD for my stuff instead of the 200USD they asked for before taking my car away. I feel like being scammed!!!! They said if I’m not agreeing on this they will not deliver my car and I have pick up my car in the middle of nowhere???
I contacted Safe Ship regarding this scam directly, and AGAIN, they were UNREACHABLE!! I called them everyday, and sent 2 LONG messages explaining what I am experiencing. Still, didn’t hear anything back until the 31st, when my call finally went through. After repeatedly explaining this situation for 3+ times to every different customer representatives (yes, I was forced to call for 3 more times because every time the person receiving the call will say “ok, I will call you back” and then disappear for another day), I finally was able to make them contact the carrier directly and was told that it is unusual to get charged for anything above 200USD for additional baggages inside the car (YES OF COURSE), so in the end, I still had to pay the 200USD.
The car arrived late and I wasted 1000+USD on car rentals and hiring people to help me move my things inside the car (I admit the stuff I put on were heavy), but what bugged me the most was not the additional 200USD. Instead, it’s Safe Ship’s UNRELIABILITY for failing promises, constantly ghosting me and choosing carriers without work ethics!!!

Updated on 09/23/2025: Follow up! Safe Ship Reached out to me shortly after I posted this review the first time. They were very concerned about my experience and this review. I was told they would look into this and follow up with me after contacting the "Moving" company (I use that term lightly). Do you know how much follow up I received? 0, zip, Nil. I was assured there would be resolution, there was not. Disappointing.
Original Review: I was sold a dream by Zachary **, “Logistics Coordinator” at Safe Ship Moving Services. He claimed he would be “with me every step of the way” and presented his company as veteran-owned, trustworthy, and honorable. The moment I signed the contract? Silence. Ghosted. No returned calls. No updates. Nothing. Not even the courtesy of a reply from him. I had entrusted my entire home to people I was led to believe were professionals and instead I got grift wrapped in a flag. I did receive calls back from a customer support person but she was as helpful as a bucket with holes.
The broker handed off my move to All State Moving & Storage, a carrier with a long trail of complaints and missing/damaged item reports. And when things went wrong? Safe Ship vanished. No assistance. No accountability. Just a forwarded claim to a third-party company at a California PO box address and a phone number that leads to a dead end.
Don’t fall for the “veteran-owned” bait. This company uses patriotism as a shield to earn your trust, then passes you off like a number and vanishes when the damage is done. Zachary **, if you’re reading this your word means nothing. You lied. You ignored calls. You let your “client” suffer thousands in losses without so much as a follow up. Safe Ship Moving Services isn’t just a broker they’re enablers of predatory, borderline fraudulent behavior. I wouldn’t trust them to move a shoebox, let alone someone’s home. Never again. You’ve lost more than a customer, you’ve earned a permanent warning label.

The movers showed up late and from that moment everything went downhill! They were careless with my belongings-furniture was broken, boxes were crushed and wet. Several items ended up broken. They moved my belongings to a warehouse in Chicago and repeatedly told me it was being loaded on a truck when it wasn’t! At the end of it all, I was quoted $2900 and the end cost was over $6000! I had to pay cash to Next Relocation Inc. over $3300 IN CASH! I’m still missing art work and furniture! I feel infuriated, violated and scammed! I would never recommend this moving company to anyone! I sent videos to Jacob so he can make it professional and informed decision on how much space I needed on the truck, we agreed on a solid price but then safe ship called didn't even see a fourth of my product and said I needed more space. Both companies assured me I didn't need any more space, only if I added a large item would I need more space and I assured them I was not adding anything. Worst experience ever and if you have children who will need their things or are moving across country, I would not recommend and absolutely avoid Chow Bella Moving. Quote was initially great at a little over $3,000 and by the time we had drop off it more than doubled due to a major lack in communication just to lock down the deal. We ended up paying over $6500 to add on two large bean bags, a 40’ tv and a small patio set.
When they ask you what’s the first available delivery date and mention it takes 7-21 business days, be mindful they start counting the first day 7 days after that date. We waited 24 days for our things. We could never get in touch with Chow Bella directly but Safe Ship Moving could and they were told our stuff was at their homesite in Cali in a climate-controlled warehouse. Turns out they were waiting to see if they could get another deal on the truck, they did but they must’ve gave that drop off some of our things as we have missing boxes and almost gave us what that drop off was missing. Going back to climate-controlled, it was not. We had candles and other items stuck and melted together. Items were broken and boxes labeled with glass turned upside down.
Readdressing the time frame it took to get here which was by far the most frustrating because we have 3 children needing their things; we called at 14 days and Safe Ship told us Chow Bella Moving was not even in transit but they would be packing up (they unpack the truck they initially packed and repack it whenever they decide they want to get moving) in two days and it would take another 5-7 days and they would call when they were on the way.
The following week came and we were at 20 days. We called back and no answer from Chow Bella but Safe Ship got an answer and we were told “they lied and did not pack up and leave when they said they would last week” but would be on the road and it would now take 3-5 days. They then threw an extra $800 bill stating that needed to be paid due to “narrow roads” on the trip. We refused to pay because that was NEVER mentioned, not once. Sounds like an issue with DOT and not my concern. Every phone call, they were very specific about their business days and hours not driving on the weekends etc. and that they could only drive 8 hours or 500 miles the most due to the labor laws and DOT (Department of Transportation).
The day of delivery, we were told they would arrive between 5-7 pm, at 7 we then were told it would be 8ish, at 830 nothing, they showed up at 10:30. Again, if we didn’t have small children we wouldn’t have been as frustrated and more understanding but at this point it seemed absolutely absurd and unreasonable. Mover handed off things that were not ours and we were missing boxes, we had broken items, and they had no idea where the pieces were to put things back together as we were told they would since they disassembled everything. They emptied the truck at about 12:30 am and we ultimately told them, "Don’t worry about our furniture being assembled, we’ll deal with it due to the time and our wish to get our kids in their own beds." Despite all that said, I am at a loss for words as to the business itself.

We did. Another fee because it was 70 miles over their "500 mile range" which they didn't inform us of before signing the contract and did this after they picked up our items. After they picked up they moved everything to ANOTHER state in the opposite direction to storage and added a fee for additional moving and storing and said they couldn't deliver for 14 days. I have made more than 10 cross-country moves and this was the most stressful and worst experience. I will not be using SafeShip again. The moving company they selected was terrible. The goods were delivered four days late with no contact from either SafeShip or the moving company, No Borders. I had to repeatedly call both SafeShip and the moving company and leave messages. Though I signed an agreement with specific instructions and a list of household goods, the moving company did not honor the agreement and did not receive a copy of the list. SafeShip set forth terms and conditions in the initial agreement I signed, but then when I spoke to them later, those terms changed.
Billing and payment was specifically a problem. The moving company refused to deliver the goods unless I paid the driver in cash or Zelle, which was not how the first two payments were processed. I was not given this information by Safe Ship until I called them to get them to tell the moving company to contact me. SafeShip customer service was difficult to connect with and several were unprofessional and not knowledgeable. I had to keep asking for a supervisor. After I explained the problem to the supervisor three times, she finally understood, but could not help me.
SafeShip brokered with a terrible moving company. Even when SafeShip contacted the moving company for me, the company did not answer or return the first several phone calls. When SafeShip was finally able to speak to an agent, they were unprofessional and did not assist anyone. The moving company was unreliable and delivered my household goods 4 days late with no explanation and demanded cash.
My household goods were scratched, damaged, and broken. Thick plastic boxes were crushed. A box very clearly marked as glass was punctured. All of the wooden furniture was scratched and scraped. They did not use the digital bill of lading I signed, but instead used a handwritten, illegible version that did not properly describe my household goods. The person who delivered and unloaded did not understand English well enough to have a conversation and clearly could not read English, since the box marked as glass was obviously damaged. The transaction did not seem legitimate.
When I explained the problem to the SafeShip supervisor, she did not seem to understand the importance of the driver being able to clearly speak and understand English. She didn't understand that giving cash to a stranger, especially if the person does not effectively communicate, is not a safe thing to do. I will not use SafeShip again or recommend them to anyone.

Then the movers kept rescheduling. They rescheduled at least 3 times. After the truck finally arrived and the rep took a look at the inventory, he stated that the quote for the inventory was lower than what was scheduled. He then stated that it would be around $2.30 more per square tonnage. I told Him I would not pay a penny more. He agreed and they miss-handled my furniture maybe because of retaliation. They also forgot the big screen TV and lost the mattress to my sofa-couch. They also left the front door to the house wide open. It was one of the worse experiences in moving. I will never use them again.

As a 25-year veteran I highly recommend this company is never used ever! From the very beginning, this company gave me the runaround as far as delivery drivers. I came in contact with individuals that were illegal; I came in contact with individuals that could not access the base legally. When I called the company to find out how to get individuals to bring my stuff to my house on base I was told I would have to work it out with them. They would not offer a discount, they would also not offer any kind of compensation whatsoever. This is the worst move my family has ever suffered in 25 years of military service!
I was told by that the lady, didn't catch her real name, on the phone that she was the highest level that I could reach at the time. She did not offer another phone number. She did not give me an opportunity to speak to a manager of any kind other than herself. This company is an abysmal failure and a scam! For a veteran owned company... 100% FAIL! I highly encourage anybody that is thinking of using this company to reconsider and immediately use another company no matter what!
Their drivers are not vetted, the company does not care, and they will give you every single reason why you have to pay the full amount other than what is reasonable for the hassle that you have to go through! Beware!!! Do not use! This is a scam broker company that needs to die quickly and silent so nobody has to experience what we went through!

Safe Ship Moving contracted Wayflower Moving for our move from Stockbridge, Georgia to Locust Grove, Georgia. We paid over $25.000 for our in state move. We had everything packed for us and transported to our new home. The 4 men they sent + someone's friend came to our home and packed with no heed to what was boxed with what and we still can't find the power cord to our TV after 2 days. Furniture was dented, some things broken, and non-stick cookware scratched.
The 2 movers who came to deliver our things were great! They were 2 gentlemen originally from Russia. They were careful and moved each piece of furniture and boxes to exactly where we requested. The one bright spot in an otherwise horrible move. Safe ship accepted our deposit through a credit card, and we were under the impression that we could use it for the whole move. When they asked for further payment after the movers arrived, they accepted our credit card for payment. At that point they had one half of the total cost.
Wayflower Movers called to collect the balance (over $12,000) by cash or cashiers check. That meant we had to come up with over $12,000 in cash before they would deliver our belongings. We of course freaked out! I called Safe Ship and they said it was standard practice, but in the end they accepted our credit card. At no time did they mention to us that any cash was needed unless we chose to tip our movers. I don't believe that they are dishonest, but there is a lot to be desired in their communications to customers.

They cannot provide updated information, as they do not request that information from their contracted shippers. Shipping company, Fabri, is as horrible as the broker. You are better off get pack mules than paying for this company. Stay far away.
We understand how frustrating it is to feel like you’re not getting consistent answers or timely updates about your shipment. The information we provide comes from the carrier handling the move, and if they are not supplying updates promptly, it can unfortunately delay our ability to give you the clarity you need. Your feedback about communication and service will be reviewed so we can address these issues with the carrier involved and improve the way updates are obtained and shared.

After speaking with the manager of Safe Ship, I felt that they do very much want to provide a good experience. It seems the specific issue that I had is industry wide ever since COVID, the way they need to wait to start scheduling until the move in date etc... I'm still not happy with the experience but I think this company is doing the best they can under the regulations we have.

If I could give them NEGATIVE 50 starts I would and avoid this company at all costs. Unless you’re okay with not knowing when your furniture will arrive—sometime in the next 30 days—then by all means, give SafeBound / SafeShip a call. But if you actually need your belongings when you move in, consider this a serious warning. Every reputable moving company asks, “When do you need your stuff?”—and then they try to deliver on that date. Delays happen, sure. But the goal is clear: get your items to you when you need them. SafeBound operates in the exact opposite way. Your “delivery date” with them is not a delivery date at all. They call it a FAD—First Available Delivery—which, as it turns out, is the day they begin thinking about your delivery. Here's what that really means:
1. They pack up your life and put it into storage.
2. On your FAD, they start looking for a driver.
3. That driver—who could be across the country—decides when to pick it up.
Your items may then travel through multiple pickups and drop-offs, and they estimate delivery could be anywhere from 1 to 30 days later.
To be crystal clear: There is zero chance—none—that your items will arrive on the date you request. That date is nothing more than the starting point of a long and disorganized process. My Experience: My elderly parents were packed up and moved out on July 31, 2025, with a confirmed delivery scheduled for August 8. Once the truck left, I received an email saying delivery could take up to 30 days (screenshot attached). They knew our timeline. They knew our needs. And they still knowingly set us up for failure.
I just got off the phone with a supervisor who confirmed everything I have stated above. He admitted that the driver had just been assigned, and it could be days before pickup even happens. From there, delivery would take another 1–10 days, maybe more. I asked why they’d confirm an August 8 delivery when that was impossible. His response? He told me that since today was the FAD they would notify a driver sometime today of the load and he believes the driver will pick it up in the next few days (no idea when exactly). From the time that the driver picks up the load and when I receive it it could be 1-10 days -- again no clue when -- the driver will notify me 24 hr before he arrives.
I mentioned that when I told them my move in date - they knew there was no chance of getting it on that date due to their process and he had to admit -- because of the distance it would be close to impossible (it is impossible) to receive my belongings on the date I told them I needed them. This isn’t just bad service—it’s deceptive, disorganized, and disrespectful of your time and trust. Avoid SafeBound/SafeShip at all costs. You deserve better. Your family deserves better.
We understand how upsetting it is to plan your move around a specific date only to learn after pickup that the delivery could take much longer. The “First Available Delivery” date is not a guaranteed arrival date, but rather the earliest date the carrier can begin arranging transport. From that point, pickup and delivery depend on driver availability, distance, and route scheduling, which can extend delivery to as much as 30 business days during busy periods. While this is disclosed in the booking documents, we recognize that it can be very different from what customers expect when they request a specific delivery date. Your feedback makes clear how important it is to set those expectations with absolute clarity before the move begins.

In the end, our experience with Safe Ship was a good one. Their initial customer service in setting up and scheduling our move was great. While we experienced significant (and ongoing) issues with the carrier we were assigned, Safe Ship itself (as a third party broker) turned out well in the end. During the two months while our move was in process we did not have a great experience with Safe Ship or their customer service and we were quite frustrated with the lack of support we were getting in dealing with our carrier. However after the move was over and we submitted a complaint, the rep who handled us changed the whole experience. Edson took the time over multiple phone calls to hear our complaints and read the issues we had submitted. He asked questions and took the time to listen and validate our experience when no one else had.
In fact, after two months of battling with both Safe Ship and our carrier, Edson was the first person to assure us that what we experienced was not ok, that he was equally concerned, and to actually take responsibility (rather than simply cast blame on the carrier). He worked hard to advocate for us, support us, and help find a resolution (as much as was within his and Safe Ship's ability). In the end, it was Edson who turned our experience around. While we would never use the particular carrier we were assigned again, we would consider using Safe Ship's services and that is only because of the attention, care, professionalism, respect, and responsibility that Edson demonstrated. If it weren't for him, we would not be able to leave a good review for Safe Ship.

I have increased my rating of Safe Ship Moving because of Jake, a customer service representative, who reached out me concerning my experience. He listened to me and spoke to me with respect and without what sounded like a printed script. My experience with the contracted Midwest Movers was horrible, but I am assured that no one else will ever be assigned them as a mover in the future. This is a great comfort to me because action was taken by Safe Ship Moving to insure this. While I will continue to battle with Midwest Movers I feel comforted and finally heard by Safe Ship Movers. I am glad that I continued my pursuit of satisfaction because in the end Safe Ship came through for me. Thanks to Jake for his patience, empathy, and professionalism.

Worst experience ever. Movers missed my moving window. Mover changed my pick-up date and time 7 times. Mover was extremely unprofessional. They did not take an inventory of my items. I was prepared with a detailed inventory of my own. The driver did not provide an inventory to Safe Ship or a Bill of Lading. Movers damaged and broke items. They gouged the wood floor in our new home by tipping an upright piano on its side to move it upstairs. It was then my wife screamed and I told them they were done being in my house. After leaving my wife in tears and me beyond irate they have refused contact with me for months.
Safe Ship has been of little no help. I waited 4 & 1/2 hours on the phone one day to speak with Customer Service. Safe Ship takes no responsibility for sticking me with a company that has an "F" rating with a warning on the review of their business "Use at your own risk." Safe Ship promises to return a call in 24 hours and has consistently left me hanging. When you do reach customer service it is next to impossible to speak with the same representative twice. I have spent over 2 months trying to get assistance or a resolution for my broken and damaged items. No worthwhile assistance from Safe Ship or the moving company. They are a company that values profit over people. I will never recommend them to anyone.

I do not take lightly the decision to write a negative review, but my experience with Safe Ship was deeply disappointing and, frankly, harmful. To start, they sent only one person to handle my move, an outrageous and unacceptable staffing decision for a scheduled residential relocation. As a result, I was forced to physically assist with lifting and moving my own furniture and boxes. This not only defeated the purpose of hiring a professional company, but it also led to serious strain and injury. I have now had to visit a chiropractor five times due to the toll this move took on my body.
The issues did not stop there. My delivery was nearly five days late, causing significant disruption to my schedule. When my belongings finally arrived, many items were damaged or broken, including china, dishes, a bed frame, an ironing board, and more. The careless handling of my personal property was evident in the state of the boxes and the shattered contents inside. I have attached photos as evidence of the condition in which my items were returned to me.
Safe Ship demonstrated a lack of professionalism, poor planning, and a blatant disregard for the well-being of their customers. From start to finish, this move has been one of the most stressful and physically painful experiences I’ve encountered, and it was entirely preventable had the company taken their job seriously. If you value your time, your health, and your belongings, I strongly advise against using Safe Ship for any moving services. Their incompetence has cost me financially, physically, and emotionally.
Thank you for sharing your experience. What you described is not the level of service expected. Your feedback has been noted, and we recommend reaching out to our support team to report the issues and begin the claims process for any damages.

I contracted with Safe Ship on 04/28/2025 and paid half of the total cost in deposit to move a few pieces of furniture from Sanford, Florida to Bozeman, Montana. One of my biggest conditions was to have the furniture in Bozeman on or before 06/19. The representative promised that the furniture will get there by that time since I called so early. My furniture was picked on 05/27 by a company called Interstate Mcinzie Movers LLC with the promise of delivering it on or before 06/19. They showed up at 10:00 PM EST and did not do a very good job wrapping my furniture. Furniture never arrived on 06/19. As a matter of fact, it did not arrive until almost a month later and that is after I had my attorney contact the owner.
Almost every piece of the furniture was damaged and even the movers expressed shock at the amount of damage to the furniture. I called Safe Ship and they completely washed their hands off of my claim and asked me to directly contact Interstate McInzie Movers. Even throughout the process, every time I would call them to find out where my furniture was they would refer me to Interstate Mcinzie Movers. DO NOT do business with this company. You are better off renting a U-Haul and moving it yourself. I have now engaged my attorney since I CANNOT get a status for my claim through Interstate Mcinzie Movers.

This company is an absolute scam. After a lengthy conversation with an estimator, going room by room with what needs to be packed and moved, and told I am purchasing “the white glove treatment and you won’t have to do a thing” I signed my contract and paid my deposit. Then 3 days before the move, the company calls and says the estimate is wrong and tried charging me another $5,000. This is a broker, NOT a moving company. They do not tell you who the mover is and they make false promises on behalf of the mover.
Then when the mover arrived (3 hours late) they try saying I have to pay for the packing material that I already paid for in the original estimate. After Safe Ship Moving tries to up your estimate, they stop answering your calls and will not respond to emails. They market themselves as “veteran owned and operated” but fail to mention they are all dishonorable veterans. A bunch of liars out to scam people in an already stressful situation. Do not contract with this company. Directly hire the actual moving company you will be working with. It will save you money and stress.
We understand how frustrating this was, especially after carefully planning your move and expecting everything to be covered. The initial estimate is based on the inventory and details provided at booking, but costs can change if more items, materials, or labor are required on moving day. These adjustments are calculated according to the actual work and resources needed. Deposits are refundable within 72 hours of signing, after which they are applied to securing your move date. We’d like to review your file directly to address the communication concerns and work toward resolving any outstanding issues.

I recently wrote a negative review about our move from Westfield, Indiana to Greer, SC. The experience did not go well but I must say, in some aspects, Safe Ship did a good job. The customer service personnel were informational and polite in every aspect. The estimate was reasonable at first but went up each time we discussed the move. The quote went from $8000.00 to $14,000. This was shocking but we were closing on our home and had to move after closing.
The main problem we had was with the actual carrier, Next Relocation, in particular the driver, MJ. When I talked with Jake, from Safe Ship, after the move, he responded so well and helped us tremendously! I hope that in the future, others use Safe Ship and make sure they know the details about the carrier that transports their personal belongings.

Our move from Westfield, Indiana to Greer, South Carolina did not go well!!! Our job # is **. Pick-up: The pick-up crew leader was not polite, when we asked him not to park on the new driveway. The driveway was recently poured and had not cured completely. The driver did not agree with me and so I said I would make sure it was not cured with my husband.. My husband went out to talk with the driver and told him the same thing and the driver rolled his eyes. The driver also told us we could not move our plasma television because all of the pixels would go to one end and would not work. I think he didn't want to move it and the television works fine. The crew was great and worked extremely hard. We provided snacks, food and plenty of water for the crew and the driver.
Drop Off: The drop-off was the real disaster! The driver, MJ, was rude from the minute he contacted me. He stated that he did not know about a second stop and wasn't sure if he could do it because he was driving a semi. Most moving vans are semis and deliver in neighborhoods. The second stop had already been approved and paid for before the pick-up. The second stop was maybe ten miles away from the first stop. MJ arrived angry because he drove through the entire neighborhood to get to our home when there is direct access to our home. He was cursing about driving over people's lawns and if they saw his truck, he would have to pay for the lawns he drove over. He did not introduce himself. He parked the truck, came inside, and quickly asked for his check which I had ready for him. However, he also said, "We expect a tip after we're finished." In my world, I love to tip people well, but I do not expect them to tell me they want a tip.
After parking the truck, he opened the truck, took a strap off and literally let a yard box and ladder fall out of the truck. Not a good start. We never did get the ladder! (approximately $100.00) He must have put it back on the truck. We also have a box that is not ours. Would you please let me know what I am supposed to do with this box? While unloading the truck, MJ did not take care of the furniture, the floors or the walls in our home. The walls were pristine and I do have video of what they looked like before MJ started bringing in our furniture. The two other men were amazing. They were very polite and worked so hard all day! They too could not understand what MJ's problem was. They were trying to be careful and he would just keep pushing the furniture against the walls and floors.
After getting the furniture into the house, MJ complained about the previous packing crew not putting the nuts and bolts where they should be and was not putting much effort in to find them. I found most of them for him. However, MJ didn't put the washers with the screws and bolts when putting the beds together and a dresser mirror. I have a bag of washers for the furniture. Eventually, the screws will come out!
There were many boxes damaged and the contents inside were damaged as well. Some of the boxes were crushed and felt as if they had gotten wet. Included in the damage was a four slot toaster, a crock-pot, a multi-picture frame, a steel picture, several serving trays, small glassware and damage to a lot of our wood furniture.Besides the damage and MJ's unpleasant attitude, he was specifically rude to me. I felt this was because I am a woman and he thought I could be talked to in a disrespectful manner. MJ never took responsibility for any of the mistakes. He often said it was my fault. He was so polite to my husband, using "Yes sir, Daniel, etc".
I provided water, snacks and lunch for the crew. However, MJ told me he only likes cold water and the water was not cold enough. The other guys on the crew thanked me and drank a lot of water. I made ham and cheese sandwiches for the group, in which MJ told me he doesn't eat ham. So, I washed my hands and made him some cheese sandwiches. He asked me if I washed my hands and did not contaminate anything with the ham. I told him I did. I was trying to respect his beliefs and thought we might have made a break-through but no! MJ just continued to complain, blame everyone else for his mistakes and continued to treat me as if I was a lesser person because I am a female.
I chose SAFESHIP Moving Services because the salesperson (Jason) and customer rep. Were excellent. (Kevin **) However, if you want to keep the #1 ranking, I would highly recommend not using MJ in the future and probably not using Next Location as a vendor. This is not my first move but it is the worst move I have ever made. I actually have moved with four other moving companies and they were all far superior than this experience.
To finish this long complaint, I do not know what the driver is expected to pay his local help, the guys that worked all day, on a hot, humid day,. Who were polite and personable, but MJ only paid each of them $100.00. This is what we tipped the guys! If that is standard pay, that is not acceptable. Those men worked so hard, much harder than MJ, and deserved to be paid much more than $100.00.
Respectfully Submitted,Maureen
PS: I submitted this complaint to several people associated with our move and did not receive any response.

I literally believe they hope people will get tired of holding on and hang up. Moved from Austin TX to Crowley, TX, and they tried to nickel and dime me for everything. Every mirror that was attached to a dresser talking about $100 for each mirror. The contractor broke my TV swivel and no one has still returned my call. Stated they were going to call after they received invoice from contractor to go over with me and it's been a week, still no call. Avoid Safe Ship at all costs! After quoting us one price, they tried to nearly double the cost 48 hours before the move. Their customer service person admitted that they can and do offer low quotes and then significantly increase the cost right before the move, knowing the contract can't be contracted. They admitted it! They deny all responsibility for the work they contracted for. What's worse is that they then provided us with a fraudulent bill of lading, altered after the fact to suit their needs. They repeatedly lied to us, take no responsibility, and washed their hands of the whole thing.
What's worse is that they sold themselves to us a veteran-owned and operated company, that we would be moved by veterans, and that the same crew that loaded the truck would unload the truck. None of that was true. They gave us a sketchy company that did not speak English. Their customer service staff was condescending and insulting, particular to women. And actually told us that our household wasn't worth much and it would be better if we just threw our items away than move them. Safe Ship cannot be trusted to help you move your household. We contracted through Safe Ship, an over $20k move from AZ to MI, had been told that the teams picking up and dropping off could accept Zelle as a form of payment. That they were professionals who would break down anything that could be broken down, that they would treat our things as if it was theirs so that things wouldn't be damaged. The first day that we had scheduled for Safe Ship to pick up our things, the employees from Rigos took one step inside our home, looked around, and said they would be requiring a higher payment even though we expressed to them that everything they saw wasn't going. The main man in control of the team tried to argue, he spoke broken English, so we called the Safe Ship help line. So, the Rigos team left without having touched a single thing, and we scheduled for Safe Ship to send out another team on another day.
2nd day, the Rigos team show up with more men than the previous team that had showed up. The main guy was obsessed with only taking what was on the list, if it wasn't on the list he didn't want to take it. Except his team did not take things that were on the list, they kept moving things and stacking things they didn't want to deal with in a corner even when we and their boss told them they were supposed to take that item. The team was extremely rough with things, bumping furniture into the top of the door frame as they moved it out of the house. My mother went to prop open the 2nd door of our double door entrance as they just kept going in and out the 1 door instead of opening the 2nd door.
The guy in charge later tried to lie to me and say he was the one who propped it open when I had watched my mother do that exact task, when I said that he tried to back track and continue lying. My mother began to cry from how they were treating our things and went into another room to call Safe Ship customer service, only then did they slow down and start treating our things with a smidgen more respect and stopped banging them into doors and walls. I had to leave behind my father's ladder and my grandfather's tool box because they continued to ignore me and say things wouldn't fit, when they weren't breaking down items that were able to be broken down.
We had to leave behind years worth of holiday decorations because of them even though they were nicely packed up. Before the first day we went out and bought 2 mattress covers and TV boxes for our 3 Samsung TVs (two 55 inch TVs, one 65 inch TV) and made sure that these boxes went up 75 inch TVs, the team only used 2 of these boxes and ignored the 3rd for our 65 inch TV, which then resulted in our 65 inch TV now having halos in all four corners. Meanwhile the 2 55 inch TVs that were put into the boxes we bought have no halos. Team leader also complained to us that we did not buy them lunch. We were not informed that we were expected to provide meals to the employees.
We were told just before they arrived to deliver that they could not accept Zelle as a form of payment and so we had to scramble to get a money order for them to deliver our furniture. The team lead that showed up once again spoke broken English, and we later figured out they were a completely different moving company than Rigos. They did not treat our things gently as they moved them out from the truck, and were in a rush to finish us as fast as possible. One man dropped a dresser down 5 stairs and then tried to hide that him dropping this dresser broke the foot off one of the corners and scraped up the top corner of the dresser, and tried to move the foot into the right place when I went down to check on him after he'd dropped the dresser.
He did not tell me what he did, he attempted to hide it. We noticed on 1 end table wood was cracked and broken. When we expressed this to the team leader he roughly grabbed the bottom and pulled it to try and correct it, ignoring us when we yelled, "Please don't," breaking the wood more to the point a piece came off. They only put together one bed, and upon inspection they used screws that were not the original screws for that bedframe, including a random rusty screw, they made new holes in the bedframe and cracked the wood. We also later found an item that wasn't ours, no idea what to do with this item, it had a red sticker and ours were green. The screws for the other bedframe are missing. We have multiple missing items.
They do not care. Like other reviews they only pay $0.60 per pound and they estimate the weight, so it's not even the correct weight. The second team was complaining about how heavy some of our furniture was. The anthem claim management team wants to say I did not provide enough pictures with the damage in them, even claiming they didn't get the video showing the damage done to one of the bedframes. Now they sent a letter that basically if I want the measly $286 dollars I can't complain.

This is the worst moving service period. This review is from a real veteran who has moved 16+ times, just want you to know I am speaking from experience. We moved from Washington State to Texas and chose Safe Ship because of their claim to be a veteran owned company, not sure I believe that, if it is true whomever is the veteran in the ownership could care less about veterans. I can't imagine how they treat those who have no military affiliations. We sustained over $4000 in damages and were offered $111 dollars in compensation. We have the pictures of all the damage, the part that is offensive is the damage was done to the stuff they packed. Safe Ship is not a moving company they are a broker, and once they have your money they could care less about your move.
When the truck arrived at our home in Washington the driver had a hard time communicating with us as his English was broken and limited. He showed up by himself and had to wait 45 min for helpers to arrive. The helpers were not professional movers, they were found on craigslist (they told us themselves that's how they got the job). On the delivery side it was the same truck and driver. We had sever damage to our tv and riding lawnmower. Our tv 75" flat screen was packed by the movers and the lawn mower is a $10K mower and was crushed the entire front end was destroyed, the tv scree was shattered. That is the background of the damage, we were offered $111 dollars in compensation. When we talked to Bianca from Safe Ship she said not their problem and alluded to the contract and that Safe Ship was not going to help.
This company is a rip off and just throws your claims back to the contractor who moved you. They take no responsibility in your complaint and offer no help. If you want to roll the dice with Safe Ship known once they have your money they could care less about your move or complaints. I would move on to a company who owns their mistakes and leaves their customers on an island with no help. Rip Off if you reply to this post I am open to discussion. Trust me I am a real veteran and this is not how you treat people, veteran owned is a hook to get you to feel safe with them. Don't take the bait. Go with another service... Worst customer service on the planet.

I used safe ship moving in May of 2025 for a cross country move. Two movers arrived at my home for loading a three bedroom home. The two movers were efficient and very professional. From there my experience went downhill. My belongings were trucked to Chicago from my northwest Indiana home. There my belongings sat idle for a week before finally being loaded on a long haul truck. During this period I attempted to call safe ship reps and they referred me to contracted moving company. The contracted moving company, Cobra van lines offered little information by simply saying your goods “should ship” by this day.
Once my belongings were in transit I was not contacted until the day before delivery. This contact was directly from the driver. This is where buyer beware comes to play. I then discover after several phone calls to driver, dispatcher and safe ship movers that it is up to driver to schedule labor to off load belongings. This is all third party negotiations and safe ship could not and would note intervene. They are simply a broker so do not look to them for guidance.
The movers at the delivery end were incompetent and all they did was argue amongst themselves on who was to do what and how furniture was to be put back together. When two boxes were found wet and damaged, the mover’s reply was that was like that. So… when looking for a moving company, I would not recommend safe ship moving.

Updated on 08/12/2025: The Movers have contacted us and have been extremely apologetic for the service provided that day and that is not the manner they try to conduct business. They will be working with us on getting the items fixed. In the defense of the workers that day, it was a very large move and was very hot as the move was in July. We did provide food and beverages for them but by the end of the move I think they were totally exhausted as we all were. However, Safe Ship themselves have only provided excuses and no solution offered.
Original Review: AWFUL, AWFUL- AWFUL--ripoff from the start. Agreed to a certain price after the virtual tour with Jennifer. Told her size and dimensions of furniture, everything including pictures, garage and sheds. After we had contracted to move 3 bedroom home, final call a week before move comes and Jennifer only put half stuff on the original contract which comes AFTER you have sent funds. Tried to essentially add another $10,000 to bill, which we got them down to $4000. (total $21,000).
Movers come and the one foreman was very professional the other was not. Was "light" packing the truck and my wife told him to get stuff in there tighter to fit as well as prevent breaking stuff. We had marked every box clearly and directed them to where rooms were but found they put half our stuff in the garage and broke the bed moving mechanisms on two beds and damaged a family heirloom cedar chest. Will be sending in for replacement of bed mechanisms and cedar chest damage. I am guessing they will deny all or push off claim because I truly think this is a business that flourishes on highway robbery.
We understand your frustration. The price provided at booking was based on the inventory and details you gave during the estimate. If the actual inventory is greater than what was listed in your original agreement, the cost must be adjusted to reflect the additional volume, space, and labor required.
Packing methods, truck organization, and on-site handling are at the crew’s discretion, though we understand the importance of maximizing space and protecting your belongings.
For the damage you reported, please submit a claim with supporting documentation so it can be reviewed under the terms of your agreement. Our claims department can assist you in filing for the bed mechanisms and cedar chest.

Do not use this company! They are broker service and will connect you to a buyer beware collection of contracted carriers. My experience with the car carrier service was absolutely awful. It took more than two months for my furniture to arrive, items were lost in shipment, items were damaged, furniture was not reassembled as promised. Safe Ship could not adequately resolve the low performance issues of the carriers they contracted with. I was left powerless and spent way too much money (~20k) for the services that I got. The carrier service was All State Moving and Storage Services.

Safe Ship Moving – A Special Thanks to Jake **
As I shared in a prior review, my experience with Safe Ship Moving was not without its challenges. There were discrepancies regarding the amount of space used, the overall cost, and, initially, significant difficulty reaching a responsive customer service representative.
That changed when Jake **, a Safe Ship customer service representative, personally reached out to me after learning of my concerns. From the moment Jake got involved, he approached the situation with professionalism, persistence, and genuine care. He took the time to listen, asked thoughtful questions to fully understand my concerns, and most importantly, followed through exactly when he said he would.
Resolving my case was not a quick or simple process—it took several days and multiple calls—but Jake never once dropped the ball. When the accounting department misinterpreted his reimbursement request, he immediately stepped in, clarified the situation, and had my overpayment refunded the very same day.
This was in stark contrast to my earlier experience, during which I spoke with more than 10 other representatives, often receiving inconsistent information about delivery dates and costs. At one point, I began recording my calls to track the discrepancies—something that made many representatives unwilling to speak further. Jake, however, welcomed transparency and remained true to his word throughout the entire process.
Please don’t misunderstand—there were still challenges with my move. As a former business owner, I understand that not everything will go perfectly. What truly defines a company is how it responds when problems arise. Jake exemplified exactly what a customer service representative should be—honest, diligent, and committed to making things right.

In my opinion: Safe Ship is a Bait and Switch Scam Artist, and I wouldn’t trust them with a paperclip. On May 5, I got a quote from Safe Ship: 1,246 cubic feet for $7,595. My move was scheduled for June 17. On June 14, Michael ** called for a "quality assurance check" and suddenly claimed my shipment was actually 1,800 cubic feet and the price had ballooned to $12,253. Nothing had changed on my end — I was already fully packed. I pushed back, and he admitted they intentionally overestimate so they can “refund the difference later,” but charge much more if you underestimate.
On pickup day, I had already spoken with Gia (**), a customer service manager, to dispute the inflated cubic footage estimate — but she insisted the charges stood and told me I’d have to wait until the truck arrived to “see for myself.” When the movers showed up to pick up my items and the truck was packed, I took photos clearly showing that only ~900 cubic feet of my items were loaded, based on the volume markings on the truck. But now Gia was nowhere to be found, and every rep I reached repeated the same line: “you’ll get a final volume when the truck delivers.” That turned out to be yet another delay tactic.
On June 25, my furniture finally arrived — in a 26-foot straight truck, ¾ full, not a semi. Before paying anything (because they refuse to unload unless you pay first), I spent over an hour on hold with customer service. When I finally got someone, I explained that my shipment only took up ~1,270 cubic feet, and the rest of the space belonged to someone else’s cargo. I was told “you must have more stuff,” which was clearly false. I asked for a manager. After 2 hours of arguing, the manager insisted it was a semi and ¾ of a semi equals 1,800 cu ft. I had the driver confirm it was a 26’ straight truck — still, he refused to believe us. I finally took photos with a tape measure to prove it.
After all that, they offered me a $1,380 credit, leaving me paying $10,873 for a move originally quoted at $7,595 — with fewer items than estimated. Later that evening, I got a call from Saika **, another customer service manager, promising to “look into it” and begging me not to post this review until she called me back by Monday at 5 PM. I gave her until Tuesday. She never called.
In my opinion, Safe Ship is a textbook bait-and-switch operation. Don't just take my word for it — BBB shows 569 complaints in 3 years, 286 in the last 12 months, with a disturbing pattern of volume scams and surprise charges. Reviews on Consumer Affairs, Reddit, MoveAdvisor, and Facebook echo my experience. Multiple customers report false estimates, massive overcharges, and hostile support. One federal lawsuit (Hemperley v. Safe Ship) was filed in 2023. Another (Ryan ** v. Safe Ship) is currently active. Complaints have also been filed with FMCSA, DOT, and state AGs. I’m filing formal complaints with the Florida Attorney General, FMCSA, and DOT. I encourage others who’ve been deceived to do the same. This company needs to be held accountable.

For the Personal Move. At first, they were quick and were able to help us immediately. However, we ultimately went with this company because they promised to store our belongings in Virginia. We are military affiliated and did not have a destination determined until we left, so we needed to ensure storage was an option if we could not find a location fast enough. In the end, we found a place only 5 days after the movers packed our belongings and left our old home. When our belongings were to be picked up, the truck driver was a felon from another country and had trouble getting on base. Eventually our home was packed up. Then we had the problem with our car shipment (below).
We called this company, they asked for our new address, we gave it, and they said it was handled. We did not get an update four days later, so we called again. They had no idea we found a place, so we gave the information again and they said it was on the way. Three days later, we call. We find out they did nothing and the carrier (the person actually moving the items) is waiting on us to let them know. This company was not communicating with us or the carrier so we called the carrier. Turns out our things are not in Virginia, and they will take 7-14 days to ship after we do more paperwork.
Car Shipment. We planned our flights based on when our vehicle was to be picked up. Soon the day comes and the vehicle is still here, so we call this company and they said to wait. Three days after original pick-up, car is still here, we call again. They said to wait. It was time for our flight, the movers already came and we just officially moved out, but we still had the car. We kept calling them and the car carrier was eight days late. We had to change the address for pick-up and spend more money on accommodations waiting. The carrier finally answered and Safe Ship told us it would be ready to pick-up 8am on day 9 after original date. Also, because of the pick-up location being different, we had to pay an extra two hundred dollars. Car was never picked up, so we call.
Eventually the car was picked up ten days after the original pick-up day. Everything seemed fine after that. But we did not get any information on where it was until 15 minutes before the car was to be dropped off. We started driving back the place we were staying but were still far away, so we got the Venmo ready. We were informed we could use Venmo or cash to pay the delivery driver. Turned out the driver did not accept Venmo and could not wait for us to give the cash. We were consistently cursed and screamed at by the driver while we were trying to change bank information and set up different apps to send the money. Safe Ship could do nothing about this when we called them after the ordeal.
Overall, Safe Ship lies to its customers about its capabilities and its carriers. Also, Safe Ship does not check on any part of the shipments for the customer or the carrier (we had to babysit every part of the process). There was one good customer representative with this company, and we talked to a lot. This company is a middleman, and it made every single part of this move a nightmare. We both work and this was near impossible to accommodate and would have been cheaper and easier for us to find the carrier ourselves and work with them (we could not drive everything over because we did not have time). The actions done by this company are inexcusable and we wish we never went with this company.

It has been over three months since my belongings were picked up and it is still not here. They lie non stop and if you call too often they block your phone number so you cannot complain. They did bait and switch so that my actual cost was much higher than they initially said. You will get out into a voice mail but NO ONE will ever call you back. I would give them a negative number if that was an option. I have moved across country and across state lines multiple times and never experienced the poor service, Abysmal communication and straight out lies. Maxwell ** should be fired for running a moving company so shoddily. Run; don’t walk away from this company!
It’s important to clarify that the timing of delivery is based on the schedule established at pickup and can be impacted by factors such as route planning, volume of shipments, and unforeseen transit delays. The cost provided during booking is an estimate based on the details given at that time, and any changes to the shipment’s size, weight, or services at pickup will result in adjustments reflected on the final bill of lading. Communication during a move can sometimes feel slower than expected, especially during peak moving seasons, but all customer inquiries are documented and reviewed to ensure follow-up. If you share your reference number and preferred method of contact, the file can be pulled and reviewed so an updated status can be provided directly.

I would strongly warn anyone considering Safe Ship Moving Services (and their partner carriers like Star USA Moving) to avoid this company unless you’re prepared to pay for their “guaranteed delivery” add-on service. From the start, I was explicit about when I needed delivery, providing over 30 days’ notice and a detailed inventory. Despite this, when moving day arrived, they increased the cost by 50%, claiming additional charges even though my inventory hadn’t changed. Now that I’m waiting for my belongings to be delivered to my high-rise condo (which requires advance elevator reservations), they are saying delivery could take up to 7 business days. This “delivery window” was buried in the fine print, never clearly explained upfront.
On top of that, all their email addresses now bounce back, making escalation nearly impossible. After doing further research, I found many other reviews with the same complaints—bait and switch pricing, hidden delivery timelines, and extremely poor communication. If you value transparency and reliability, do not use this company unless you’re ready to pay significantly more for a guaranteed delivery date. Their practices are misleading, stressful, and costly.

Safe Ship is a scam, NEVER use them. They are a broker company the takes a huge fee (>$4000) to keep you on the phone for >2 hours listing the items you have to ship. They quote high and then with a very high pressure sales tactic claim they have a truck going right where you plan to go at that exact same time. They then delete what you told them you had to move. They schedule another >3hr phone call after the cancellation period and then double the price. Very unprofessional and rude. Tim ** was condescending and created so much stress with our move. He refused to let me know what his first list of items were and proceeded to more than double our moving expense. If we did not move forward with them they would keep the >$4000 fee and leave us in the lurch the day before we needed to move. NEVER use this company. This is a scam that needs to be ended.

I called to ask if this company had the ability to drop off some boxes as I wanted to pack a few of my things myself. They said they will pack everything - he didn't know if they could bring me the boxes I needed. But he wanted to do an inventory of what was being moved and after coming up with over 8,888 for first move - He said we could pursue the next move until I tell him what was going - I signed on the computer a contract that was 2 pages - when I printed it out it was around 30 pages. Then relooked at the next move - he said I hd 72 hours to cancel if needed. I had to sign the second contract - when I asked some more questions he became rude and because I had my broker on the phone call he kept saying sometime like your friend said to sign and move forward - I had to explain it was my money and my choice. I just called to see if boxes could be sent out before the move - He said he will call be in the morning.
I never received a call and when I called them to cancel he hung up on me = I called back a the lady said we only have one person here and probably the phone dropped. I spend all day trying to resolve this issue - I feel like I bought a Marriott which is a bad feeling and over priced. I sent an email to them to cancel and it went to my broker and lawyer.
Now I'm trying to call the credit card to stop payment. Also I asked for Aug 11 move which they agreed to having flexibility on date. Today I was told they had set up the 22nd. They quoted storage control temp and the second quote. I still haven't heard if they were going to drop off boxes (wardrobe, etc) to me prior to the move is needed. He said I could go to Home Depot and buy what I needed. I have been charge 1664.83 and 4426.71 on two set. I will not be using this company. My total move of a small condo under 1400sq - one person was estimated around $14,000 and I'm moving single level homes - 20 minutes away.

I booked with Safe Ship with the intention of relocating cross country. They required 50 percent of the quote down to "lock in" the estimate. Due to both my purchase not going through, and a health issue I elected to stay in my home state. As directed, I contacted them to re-book for the new location and move date. They came back with a quote only $880 and some change less for a 20 mile move than they did to relocate me 2,000 miles away.
I believe they fully were aware that there was no way I was going to pay that amount, and the bonus for them is that they get to keep my over $2,200 deposit with the assurance that I could use it in the future (I'm moving into a retirement unit) or gift the deposit to someone else. If you've got the cash to burn this could be an inexpensive option for you if you're certain no unforeseen situation may come up around your relocation. You will also get multiple phone calls from multiple agents as your information is not updated in your profile.
We understand your frustration with the pricing difference and deposit concerns after your move plans changed. Shorter-distance moves often involve different pricing structures, which can lead to unexpected quotes. Your deposit remains fully transferable and doesn’t expire, and we’re happy to help apply it to a future move or assist with other options. We also appreciate your feedback on communication and will work to improve that experience.

Avoid this company at all costs — worst moving experience ever. I booked an interstate move through this broker, and it was a complete disaster from start to finish. What they promised and what actually happened were two completely different things.
• Terrible Packing: Nothing was labeled. They used random boxes and materials and left a huge mess behind. They didn’t bring proper supplies, despite being told in advance what we needed. Fragile items were not wrapped but non fragile items such as paper towels were wrapped. They did not pack my drawers for 3 big dressers and ruined the dressers and all of the contents.
• Bait-and-Switch Pricing: I was quoted one price, then charged much more and left with no alternative options. This broker intentionally underquoted the amount of space to get us to sign the contract then at final inventory, during the 72-hour nonrefundable period, they doubled the price. Once they changed the estimate, I had no choice but to pay.
• Delays and Poor Communication: My delivery window came and went with no one showing up on the scheduled packing date. I was given different excuses every time I called.• No Accountability: When I complained, both the broker and the moving company blamed each other. Neither would take responsibility for the poor service and damages.
I trusted them with my belongings during a major life move, and they completely failed. Save yourself the stress, money, and heartbreak — do your research and choose a reputable moving company, not a shady broker like this one.

Updated on 07/23/2025: The lying continues! Not long after this miserable company posted their fake concern response here, a representative called to inform us our possessions would be delivered today. When we called this morning to get details, no one knew what we were talking about, then they faked a call to the carrier, and said they couldn’t get a hold of the driver. A few minutes ago, we called the carrier only to learn they had no intention on delivering our possessions today. The lying and misrepresentation is absolutely off the chart. The YouTubers who have posted videos about how horrible Safe Ship is and the class action lawsuits are on point. To be continued…
Original Review: The minute they take your money for their share of your move, you are on your own. I’ve moved many times, and this has been the worst movers I’ve ever encountered. They hold themselves out as veteran owned, but they broker your move to others and you have to deal with them, who are definitely not veterans. Also, Safe Ship’s contract terms are different than the contract terms of their assignees, so if you choose to deal with this nightmare, buyer beware and read the fine print and the differences in ancillary charges. Trust me, you’ll will get ripped off unless you pay attention. We were promised a pick up date, but the actual movers couldn’t pick up that date, then they packed up our stuff and told us they were going to transfer everything from the box truck (small move) to a semi and if it didn’t fit on our beach city streets they would be charging us $1,000 more.
Come to find out, they kept our possessions on the box truck and still charged us the additional $1,000. The driver of the moving truck called Sunday night and said he was delivering Monday, between 9 and noon. It wasn’t until we called him after the noon hour did they tell us he “had things to do”and couldn’t make it.
We called Safe Ship and they couldn’t have cared less that we took the day off to accommodate the movers; they couldn’t have cared less their assignees couldn’t give us a straight answer why they failed to show up; then Safe Ship came up with some story that there were truck issues, and they basically told us that we had to be available for a 10 day period, and even if their assignees gave us another date and time, it may or may not happen then either. Finally Safe Ship couldn’t have cared less that their assignees fraudulently upcharged us an extra $1,000, despite the fact they didn’t transfer the load to any other truck. I wish I would have read Safe Ship’s reviews on other review sites, what a miserable experience.

I would like to share that this company reached out to me several times after I shared my experiences. For that reason, I give them accolades on their response to complaints. Thanks to Jessica in particular, for the time she dedicated to research my complaints. I also believe her actions and focus on the details of my experience were sincere. It's unfortunate that this situation happened, however, because of the immediate response and follow-up, it showed me that this company doesn't take these types of complaints lightly.

Moving service from Hell. Please do not use them. To be honest the initial inquiry about moving was very customer service oriented and professional. The next call to vet your moving list was also friendly and courteous. The nightmare was the loaders and unloaders that were used, very little communications from dispatch, damages upon delivery (close to 4 weeks) and using a storage facility that wasn't climate controlled for that long period of time. How can anyone disassemble furniture and don't put the hardware with the furniture or better yet, remove shelves from a stand and don't put the shelves or hardware with the items. Absolutely horrific. By the way how long does it take to make a phone call, if a driver is expected in a 5 hours block and shows up 1 hour and 15 minutes late, without a call from anyone. Do not use this company because of poor service.

We used Safe Ship for a two bedroom move from Texas to Illinois. Our items took over a month to arrive to us with hardly any communication, many came damaged, several are still missing. The initial quote was for just over $3,000. once they get you to commit this price is quickly goes up. By the time all was said and done we were paying $9,000 for a 2 bedroom move. Not to mention the over $2,000 of musical equipment that is still missing so I'm out $11,000. They use 3rd party brokers so they can be absolved of liability while reaping the rewards and offering zero help. Did I mention that our movers got in a physical fight with each other over money when they arrived and threatened to pull guns on each other in the parking lot?

Absolutely horrible experience. Chris lied to me from the start and told me I was able to use a credit card. Two separate customer service representatives told me I was not able to do that. He then started to cuss at me and got so angry that he hung up the phone on me when I told him what he was saying didn’t make sense. He then tried to call me back a few days later to keep my business and said the customer service representatives “only make $15 an hour” so they are more likely to be wrong. I would never ever recommend this “company” to anyone. Their “customer service” is absolutely trash. It was a waste of my time and caused so much additional stress when moving in itself is already stressful enough! If I could give 0 stars, I would.

SafeShip Moving Services LLC is the broker who scheduled my move with Infinity Moving Solutions LLC from NC to GA. SafeShip promised $10,000 in cargo protection (which is federally mandated) and certified, trained professionals. 93 items of mine were damaged or destroyed. Table legs broken off, china, crystal and paintings ruined. Walls and floors gouged. Lamps piled on top of one another in boxes with no padding, box springs bent and laborers throwing boxes from one to another. Day lborers picked up off the street using profanity at you. A nightmare experience you pay cash up front for. Infinity's cargo insurance was canceled May 28, 2024, for non-payment. My move February 25, 2025, allowed plenty of time for SafeShip to properly vet the mover they scheduled and find they had no cargo insurance.
SafeShip has copied and pasted how terribly sorry they are and how rigorously they investigate carriers at least 20 times, but take NO RESPONSIBILITY for not providing their promised moving services! DO NOT TRUST SAFESHIP MOVERS LLC (Vellar Holdings) NOR INFINITY MOVING SOLUTIONS LLC! These companies have no integrity! RUN, find someone else for your move! DO NOT USE A BROKER, they did not provide what was promised for a LOT of money, go direct eliminate a middle man who provides no value.
The DOT told me SafeShip has over 100 complaints. It can take up to a year for the DOT to investigate a complaint. Meanwhile these Moving companies/brokers are endangering the public driving without insurance, driving overweight and over the allowed hours (validated by the truck driver) without rest and no one is enforcing the laws. I have moved MANY times and NEVER had any breakage. 93 items damaged with SafeShip refusing to honor, their in writing promised moving services, is testimony to the fact SafeShip has no integrity and you should find another company to trust your move to!!!

Moving with Safe Ship, along with Signature Van Lines, the carrier they set us up with, was the worst experience I could have imagined. My move was around 300 miles, which the sales person I spoke with told me would take around 3 business days to be delivered (7 business days max but that that would most likely not happen). 3 business days went by and I had not heard from anyone, so I called safeship since they had not given me any carrier information. The people who picked up my items told me their boss would reach out to me about delivery. The person I spoke with from safe ship was very rude and confused why I was calling them and not the carrier, so they gave me a phone number for the carrier which was actually a disconnected line.
When I finally got a hold of a real person at this so called carrier after multiple phone calls with safeship with more rude individuals, they told me my things would be delivered the next day. The next day came along and I hadn’t heard from anyone all day so I called the number for the carrier and the phone was again disconnected or turned off. I then called safeship back and they told me the carrier ran into issues and they would reach out when they had more information. No one ever reached out to me unless I called back for them to tell me the delivery was now going to be the next day. This cycle continued of so called “issues being faced” on the carrier end with no actual contact with the carrier since they turned off their phones for 12 business days when my items finally arrived at 2:30 in the morning where they then charged me $250 extra for stairs.
Overall, the lack of communication from the “carrier” Signature Van Lines and the lack of effort from SafeShip to help me get the information was very disappointing and was mentally/emotionally very hard to go through. Also let me just add, the carrier one time told me that my items were in transit and would be arriving soon, but I had a tracker on my items and they were still 6 hours away from me…. so they also were liars. Moral of the story is that I could not recommend safeship to anyone looking to move interstate less. DO NOT TRUST the sales people, they will make it seem like a very easy pleasant experience and then set you up with a carrier who turns their phone off and lies to you throughout the whole process. DO NOT move with safeship. I hope nobody else has to go through what I went through.

I contracted with Safe Ship in August 2024 to move a four bedroom three bath home from California to North Carolina. They contracted with Perfectly Fast movers which most of the workers did not understand English. They brought two U-Haul trucks and only filled up one and a half leaving behind my guest bedroom, patio furniture, garage items all of my kitchen items. I tried to reach out to them to reschedule. I canceled once and in November a family member was in a severe car accident. I reached out again after his recovery and was told it was too late. I paid over $18,000 and still have a U-Haul truck full of household goods to move cross country. I am a disabled vet and trusted a veteran-owned company to do right by me and my family.
Many items were left such as cables, washer and dryer hook ups, office desk, chairs, and so on. I am truly disappointed and called and tried to reach out to have this made right for me. During my final attempt in July 2025 I was told they could not help me but I could pay for another move. I will never recommend Safe Ship nor Perfectly Fast movers for anyone. I had to run around and get cash once the items were delivered to the storage in North Carolina because they did not want to accept money orders or a cashier's check. I highly do not recommend this company nor the other one.

DO NOT RECOMMEND — A Frustrating Experience with Safe Ship & Midwest Moving and Storage. My move coordinated by Safe Ship and carried out by Midwest Moving and Storage LLC was by far one of the most stressful, drawn-out experiences I’ve ever had. To be clear, Midwest Moving and Storage LLC is a licensed carrier, and the driver who delivered my items was not rude or demanding. In fact, he was contracted just to drive the truck and had no awareness of the pricing situation. He arrived on July 19, which was well beyond the originally promised delivery window. But everything leading up to that was riddled with delays, poor communication, and broken promises.
My items were picked up on June 29, and I did not receive a single proactive update from the carrier. Every time I needed information, I had to initiate contact—either with the carrier directly or through a Safe Ship representative. I was repeatedly given new delivery promises: July 7, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, and finally July 19, which actually happened. Each promise came and went without delivery or proper notice. Calls went unanswered or were pushed off. One driver said he was out of driving hours and 10 hours away the evening he was supposed to arrive. Another call from the carrier came just to ask for my delivery address—weeks after they had picked up my belongings.
To Safe Ship’s credit, some reps like Nathaniel did try to help. He stayed in contact and assured me the carrier would be fined for missed delivery deadlines, and that there would be deductions from my final balance for each day late. That part remains to be seen. Still, each new rep I spoke with at Safe Ship had no idea what was going on, and I had to repeat my entire situation over and over.
When the truck finally arrived, I was told the final balance was nearly double the original quote. I was never informed ahead of time about this increase, and it only came up after my belongings were already en route and at my door. At that point, I had no choice but to pay—or be denied access to my own property. This is a classic case of extortion and violates FMCSA consumer protection guidelines for moving companies. Bottom line: I wouldn’t recommend Safe Ship or Midwest to anyone looking for a reliable, respectful, and transparent moving experience. The emotional stress, financial surprise, and logistical nightmare are not worth it.

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with this moving company and feel compelled to warn others. From the start, this move was misrepresented. My items were mishandled, and several were damaged due to a complete lack of care. Even worse, members of my family were disrespected and called names by the crew — an appalling and unprofessional display. The financial side of this experience was just as troubling. I was charged for space that was clearly not used, and the movers attempted to add unexpected charges at pickup without justification. This felt dishonest and predatory.
In an effort to resolve the situation, I left a detailed voicemail — over five minutes long — for the agent handling my grievance, describing exactly what was happening in real time. Despite that, and after more than five follow-up phone calls, no one from management has reached out to me. No one has offered help retrieving my home contents, and no one has offered even partial compensation for the unused space or the poor service. The total lack of accountability and basic customer service has been shocking. It’s clear that once they have your money, they stop caring. I urge anyone considering this company to think twice. I wish I had known what I was walking into — this has been one of the most stressful and disheartening service experiences I’ve ever had.

Do not sign a contract with this company. If you do and then have concerns, make sure you cancel it within 72 hours (that includes Sat. and Sunday). We booked this company for our move from Florida to North Carolina. It wasn’t until 30 minutes plus into the conversation, that the salesperson, Dustin, identified the company as a broker and not an actual moving company. Red flags came up about three times and each time Dustin did his best to assure me not to be concerned. I asked why they could come to the house to see its contents? Response: they haven’t done that since Covid. Why do I have to put 50% down when the contract states 35%?
Response: "Yours is a big move. We do that with bigger moves." You’re BBB accredited, correct? Response: I can tell that you’re hesitating and then texted a series of websites showing their high ratings( paid for reviews, I would realize later). He certainly didn’t text me any site with negative reviews. He was very friendly, persuasive and complimentary to our home. Dustin said he was available whenever I had a question and I signed. A few days later I called bc I had questions about missing items in the contract. No response all day after reaching out two or three times. This prompted me to do a deeper search and what I found on BBB, Reddit and this website made me literally nauseous.
I immediately tried to cancel but the woman I spoke to, Jessica I believe, said that the 72 hours had passed (in my mind, it was 3 business days) Tried to convince me that they had a luxury mover assigned to me and to stay with them; I just saw more dollar signs. Our credit card company tried to fight this but we lost. We’re out over $4800 dollars but I know that move would have been an additional $10,000, not another $4800. This company took advantage of senior citizens at a very stressful and vulnerable time, and used the “we’re Veteran operated” to reel us in. They are not honest nor trustworthy and I will leave this review everywhere I can. They should have at least refunded the 15% overcharge on the down payment. Lesson learned, I will always trust my gut feelings and never fall for a slick salesperson again. Do not trust this company!

The person that answered was Nick. I let them know that I got a text message saying they were trying to reach me, so I was just returning that call. He very coldly and bluntly said okay so what can I help you with? As if I was inconveniencing him. IDK buddy, y'all texted me... What can I help you with???? I told him that I had booked with another company. And he said okay in a pretty rude way. I told him Thank you and Goodbye, and he hung up on me without any word.
I know this doesn't sound very weird in the sense that, yes the responses he was giving were pretty normal responses to the things I was saying. However tone and how you speak to a customer matter. And I will just say, after being quoted a ridiculous $15,000. Not kidding. $15,000 to move my townhome that was moved into from a 705sqft 1 bedroom apartment (so you have a reference that I do not have $15,000 worth of things) From CA to TX. I extremely don’t recommend Safe Ship Moving services. The night before I was called being told cash, check, venmo. I told them I had to pay with credit card. The mover called me 3 times, stating, cash, check, venmo, & each time, I told him that I had to pay with Credit card. They came with paperwork that was not filled out. I had to contact Safe Ship to find out what was going on, I had to fill it out, because the movers had no clue. I find that too bizarre. I was extremely nervous wondering what did I get myself into. Instead of sending me a link to pay the balance, I was asked to send a copy of my driver's license & the card I was using. I paid for them packing, moving, unpacking & set up. Because of the way they were processing the payment, until the transaction goes through, my stuff went into storage. The move was only 50 miles.
While filling out the blank paperwork, the mover was more concerned about the tip. I replied, “You haven’t done anything yet “. Between taking stuff I said that stayed & stuff that was supposed to go, was ridiculous. It took me a month to get my furniture and I was told by Safe Shipping I would have my furniture in 1-3 days, 3 times! I had to hire a lawyer. The day I got my furniture, they left me with a mess! Legs to my entertainment center were missing & when I asked them, his response was “legs?” Barely understood English, & were not the same movers who packed my stuff originally. I was left having to put everything together, even though I paid to have everything setup. I couldn’t wait for them to leave! I have never felt so cheated in my life! Avoid This Company at All Costs — A Bait-and-Switch Scam. If I could give zero stars, I would. This company scammed our family out of nearly $15,000 on a move they originally quoted as $8,000. What began with promises of a veteran-supporting, American-owned, background-checked, professional operation quickly devolved into a nightmare of deception, upcharges, and intimidation tactics.
Just days before our move, a sales rep called to upcharge us $4,000, threatening we’d lose our reservation otherwise. We were locked in with limited options, so we reluctantly agreed. When the movers arrived, they showed up in a graffiti-covered truck with no uniforms, pants halfway down, and immediately let us know we'd be charged extra for stairs—unless we gave them a great tip. My husband, trying to be kind, helped them move everything and even jump-started their dead truck at 3:00 AM. They stayed until then. No plan for lodging or food. We fed them dinner ourselves.
To make matters worse, we later found out this company is just a broker, and they subcontracted our move to a third-party crew who had no idea where they were headed next. Along the way, our belongings were shuffled through various storage units without our knowledge. When we arrived at our new location, we proactively called to ask what type of truck they’d be delivering our items in. We secured two storage units—one for semis, one for large trucks—ready to accommodate whatever they needed. They promised to call 24–48 hours in advance to confirm details. They never did.
Instead, they claimed—based on Google Maps—that our location couldn’t accommodate a semi (false), offloaded our belongings without notifying us, and slapped us with another $1,500 fee for a “truck transfer.” When we pushed back, they held our stuff hostage and said they’d charge us even more to store it elsewhere if we didn’t pay immediately. We had no choice but to comply just to get our belongings back. This company operates entirely through shady fine print and post-signing extortion. Hidden fees for stairs, walking more than 75 feet, truck type, and other nonsense added thousands to our bill. None of these were clear up front, and every promise they made was broken.
In the end, we paid almost double their original quote. They prey on families in transition, wear a mask of professionalism and patriotism to gain your trust, and then exploit you at every step. We feel sick that we ever trusted them—and devastated we didn’t choose a transparent, reputable company from the start. Please do yourself a favor: Run. Do not walk. Avoid this company at all costs.

Once the 10 business days passed with no update, I had to reach out to them—they never initiated any communication. I was then told it would take another 3–5 business days, with no apology or clear explanation.
When the truck finally arrived, the movers demanded full payment before unloading anything, without allowing me to verify if all my items had actually arrived. After unloading, I discovered 3 of my 54 items were missing. The lack of accountability and transparency was alarming. Throughout this process, communication was nearly nonexistent. Using Safe Ship Moving Services was the most traumatizing and gut-wrenching experience of my life. Unfortunately, some of this is on me. I was nervous and had recently been diagnosed with cancer, but I did research this company on some rating site and they were listed as one of the top 3 movers. Well, I didn't realize they are simply a BROKER for local movers, so with that, they take their cut. I was first given an estimate of roughly $5,500 and paid that by credit card, then I get a notice from them that I underestimated my storage unit space, so the new price was going to be roughly $19,000. I almost had a heart attack on the spot, but things were already in motion and I'd already paid for what I thought my move was going to cost: the original $5,500.
This is such a SNEAKY WAY of doing business. They never told me they were a broker and they were going to give my move to a local mover that does out of state moves. If that were the case, I would've done research on the moving company that actually moved me. The two stars are for them, Roy's Moving Company. The gentlemen that actually moved me were great, but I HARDLY NEEDED A BROKER TO FACILITATE MY MOVE and if I were told that upfront, I would've declined using their service.
I'm so disgusted and I'm out an additional $15,000 due to this BROKER who simply handed my move off to the real movers. I'm so sick over the lost funds, but I was stuck because I signed the agreement not knowing they were not the actual movers. JUST BE CAREFUL WHO YOU CHOOSE TO MOVE YOUR LIFE FROM ONE STATE TO ANOTHER. Do your homework better than I did. There's a lot of scams out there and I was definitely taken for a ride. Once I have my receipt in hand, I'll edit and upload it for all to see. I left it at the house down south, but it should be transported back to me next week in my car.

The third-party came and picked my stuff up. Packed it in the truck. Took half of my money and it is now July 14 and I haven’t heard from them at all!! I text. I emailed. I called SEVERAL times to no avail -no answer! Just an answering machine. So I called Safe Ship back a couple times and for some reason their dispatcher always get in touch with the driver of this moving company and it was always. “Oh I’m sorry you’re having problems. We’ll resolve this for you. Let me get the dispatch and he’ll see what’s going on. They’re very busy you’ll get your stuff soon blah blah blah." A big bag of BS.
It’s been five days since I talked to Safe Ship or Fabri and you know what - No one has even called me to let me know where my stuff is. No one has assured me that my stuff is on the way. NOTHING!! So as of now I’m considering this A THEFT and I’m taking action as of NOW!! I don’t care about all these fake ass “five star“ reviews. I don’t care about the “great“ reviews that Safe Ship has, they’re terrible. They’re a terrible company that don’t care about you or your belongings. Oh yeah, they’ll act like they care but in reality they’ve already got their money so the hell with you and your belongings. So do your research. Watch out because sometimes too much of a good thing is not that good,. Believe me. But whatever you do, whatever you decide, don’t go to SafeShip. It’s not worth the risk or the headache. Take it for me. I’m still going through it.

Don't fall for nice promises!!! Scam company, prices go up ever second leaving you up against the wall right before your move. First they are amazing, after the pick up … they disappear very comfortably, leaving you with movers, who suddenly start charging you hundreds and hundreds of dollars for items (which some of you already listed, but there is no one to talk to). All your quotes with numbers disappear from your emails!!!! SCAM!!!! Scam!!!! Fraud!!! Be aware!!! I will definitely be filing a claim with BBB, so no one else gets taken advantage of like this!!!!

Do not use this company. I wanted to honor our veterans so I chose these movers. They use a bait & switch method of tactics to scam people. Three days prior to move, Jeff who is a coordinator, changed the price from $6000 to nearly $15,000. It was my fault as I changed my furniture and boxes as well as I did not want my art & paintings wrapped. WHAT? Of course, it is not operated by veterans! Jeff stated "a company of that size could not have just veterans". Okay, I was the stupid one. Do not advertise the company is veteran based. My father & brother served, yet if they were not commissioned, there service did not matter. My father is 91 years old. The whole experience was time consuming & horrific during a time of moving, which is stressful enough. Many people might be forced to utilize the services as there are time restraints. I was told I was mean by Jeff. Of course, I got upset, who would not react as it's so deceptive. BEWARE!!

This company is a broker of shipping services, but they are not the actual provider. They were fabulous at setting up the move and providing an accurate cost. However, during that initial discussion they said that we could save money if we could be flexible about the delivery date. They also said that we could expect delivery within 7 days given the distance of our move.
When the carrier showed up, then came the surprises. After everything was on the truck, it became clear that we were likely not to get our stuff within a week. All of a sudden it was "Seven business days, and we are allowed up to 30 days." We waited 15 days. That was costly. I had to buy things that I would not have bought just to be able to sleep in our new home. If Safe Ship had let me know that this was a possibility, I would have paid for a guaranteed delivery date. During that time, I contacted their customer service. Often there was no response, and certainly there was no help.

Terrible customer service, gave an inaccurate quote, then charged me almost double the price. Gave the wrong information to the movers multiple times, and then tried to charge me more AGAIN to cover their own mistake. I regret ever booking with them, but I couldn't cancel because they sprung the costs on me at the last second.

We recently used Safeship Moving service for a move from Illinois to Michigan. After we agreed to a price and date of pick up and delivery we paid the deposit. We were then notified that they needed to increase the price by a $1000 because our furniture would not fit in the truck. When the truck was filled, more than 2/3 of the truck was empty. Got the run around by customer service when we called to complain and ask for a refund. And finally, we were told the truck would leave immediately to Michigan. While on the road to Michigan we were notified that it would take a week to deliver our belongings. I do not recommend using this moving company.

I moved many times in my 20 years in the Marine Corps and this was the worst move ever. The movers showed up 2 hours late and didn't have the proper tools to disassemble my beds. I was charged $1,554.00 more than the estimate even though I was told that the price was locked in. Trying to work with customer service is futile. They have no desire to make this right or return my phone calls.

Updated on 07/22/2025: Today is July 22nd and for the 4th time our delivery date has been changed and moved out now till August. Stanford Van Lines who Safe Ship Moving hired for household goods delivery stated they did not have a driver and now they are behind in deliveries. Our goods were picked up on July 2nd. I paid $8,000.00 for this move to be delivered in a week which is what Safe Ship Moving verbally informed me and delivery date should have been July 9th. Along with being charged more I’m now informed Stanford Van Lines has their own policy for delivery which of course Safe Ship Moving did not include in my contract. I regret the day I heard of Safe Ship Moving. They did not take care of this veterans family.
Original Review: Safe Ship Moving Services charged me over $8,000.00 stating they have lots of resources to take care of me. My household goods were picked up & when tracking my shipment see has not moved in 7 days since day one! I call customer service & Tyrone tells me the carrier they hired is waiting for a driver & did I pay for expedited shipping. No I did not but was charged extra for a two day pick up window & informed my merchandise would be delivered in 7-21 days; you didn’t read the small print Tyrone says stating they could be waiting for a driver that long & also stating I wasn't ready for pickup at new location until a week after my household items were picked up.
I told him this was not true. I had spoke with four employees telling all of them I was flying to pick up address the day after household items were picked up. They were also aware this move is for a veteran who has a terminal disease. We take care of our veterans being a veteran owned company I was told. Nothing could be further from the truth! The other company I hired was a 1/4th of the price as Safe Ship Moving Services, pickup up was one day apart & delivery was in 6 days. I thought by ensuring most household items & hiring Safe Ship Moving Services for my job I was doing a good thing.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Do yourself a favor & keep looking elsewhere for another company. The less expensive company (which the majority are cheaper than Safe Ship Moving Services) delivered in 6 days. Safe Ship Moving Services has had my items over a week & still the carrier they hired does not have a driver! Also the other company I hired I was able to speak with carrier with Safe Ship Moving Services. I’m not.

Picked up on scheduled day. I was quoted $3040 for a move. I did need to add a roll around bottom tool box and add 3 more totes. The price went up by $1000. Do not use them. When I booked the move I specifically asked for a pod type container that we could load and have moved from KY to TX. When I asked about the delivery of the pod/crate I was told it would be on either 6/30 or 7/1. I then asked after we load it ourselves, do I call them or the carrier to pick it up and move it to TX and was told yes. The deposit was paid and was told the balance would be paid in two equal installments upon pick up and delivery.
The moving truck showed up on 7/1 to pack on move us. This was not what was agreed to and after several attempts to speak with a supervisor, I was told that they are not a broker for any type of pod service. I have requested a refund and was told “someone” would call me back after they listened to all my recorded phone calls to determine what was said. That was almost a week ago. I just called again and spoke to a gentleman he knew the salesperson who told me that and didn’t act to surprised that I was lied to by him. When asked about the call back from the Compliance department and it should be “sometime” this week. We have almost lodged a dispute with our credit card company.

I didn't agree on paying them more but when the movers came, they ended up charging us $1500 more and on top of that, when we received our items, after calling those movers multiple times to deliver our stuff, 80% of the stuff was damaged, broken, scratched. This was a nightmare and still is cause now I have to file a claim for all my defective items!!!! I'm so unhappy and frustrated with all this, if you read this, stay away from this service and 101 movers from NJ. Do not trust Safe Ship Moving Services. We hired them for a long-distance move and paid extra for Guaranteed Delivery by June 2. A date clearly promised in writing. It is now well into July, and we still do not have our belongings, a driver, or even a delivery date. We’ve received conflicting information every time we called: first that our items were in transit, then that they were in storage. One agent said a driver had been assigned, another said no one had. At one point, we were told they’d try to find another carrier. Then told that wasn’t actually possible. Every call brings a new excuse or contradiction, and no one will take responsibility.
We were even told that Cita Van Lines has done "nothing wrong" except miss the Guaranteed Delivery date, and that they now have up to 30 business days to deliver, despite the contract we paid extra for. To make matters worse, they told us that even if we drove across the country and picked everything up ourselves, we’d still owe Cita the full amount.
Meanwhile, we are a family with small children and a husband with a serious medical condition. Because of this delay, we’ve incurred emergency medical bills, had to call an ambulance, and were forced to purchase new furniture just to get by. The only response we've received is that we can "take the refund off the mover’s check," not an actual refund. This company has been dishonest, negligent, and completely unaccountable. We are filing formal complaints with the FMCSA, BBB, and our Attorney General, and considering legal action. Please do not let your family go through what we have. Look elsewhere!

However, my daughter was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Left Breast Cancer which had spread to her left hip, left femur, sternum, her liver and lymph nodes. We were told it was spreading rapidly. She had a rod placed along her left femur and pins placed through the femoral neck and ball to hopefully prevent a fracture. I was told the time to cancel expired the day before. I explained all this to the young man I spoke with and was told the time to cancel was July 1. I pleaded with him that the extenuating circumstances should be taken should warrant a refund.
I asked that he contact the owners to explain the serious nature of her cancer and he responded it would not do any good. That the owners would not grant a refund. He later sent me a Text stating he had put my move on hold and he would contact the owners. I never heard back from him. I made approximately 3-4 large moves in my life and have NEVER had such a horrible experience. I chose this company after reading some reviews, seeing that they were supposedly Veteran owned/operated and honestly after being overwhelmed with the quote process from a larger, well-known, full-service mover. My first mistake was not understanding that Safe Ship is a broker…I will never go that route again.
First warning...the bait & switch. The initial sales rep was very friendly, “helpful,” and made me feel like I was getting a very good deal at the time. I thought the over-the-phone process/questions seemed a little too simple as I'm used to companies physically looking at my household items (either in person or virtually) but was assured this is all that was needed to do it. I answered the rep's questions about my move including number of rooms/square footage I currently had and would be moving and then provided a quote of $9000. FOUR days before my scheduled pick up, I had the final “QA” call with different guy (Dylan) who is going room by room, super detailed and now suddenly my quote increased to $12,626 (total ended up over $14,000-keep reading).
When I voiced my upset over the difference, he got aggressive and berated me for not providing accurate information the first time. He also initially alluded that the carrier might not be able to accommodate such a large change in volume and after putting me on hold, he stated "I was lucky" that the carrier could still fit everything. I could share more details about this particular interaction but there’s so much more to say…because yes, it gets much worse.
I elected to have my items put into storage because I didn’t yet have a house in my new state. They “gave me” the 1st 30 days free and then gave me the option to do storage near my pick up location (Charlotte, NC) or destination location (Denver, Colorado). I selected my destination location near Denver, CO and was told they have a storage facility in Aurora, CO…perfect. I was also told that someone from SafeShip would contact me when the first 30 days of free storage was about to end to see if I wanted to extend storage or request delivery of my items. (Didn't happen.)
My items were picked up on Thursday, March 27th by the carrier, No Borders Moving, which consisted of 2 guys who didn’t speak a lick of English. I couldn’t communicate with either of them except through my limited Spanish and Google translator. They did wrap everything (but just wait) and sticker all the items but were rushing me to sign the Bill of Lading before I saw an inventory list (didn’t see this until after they loaded all my stuff and it was barely filled out). They bolted after everything was loaded on the truck and I noticed when coming back into the house they forgot two boxes and some pieces to my king bed. I immediately called the driver but was told they were already too far on the road to come back.
The next day I received a call from Safe Ship to see how my pickup went. I told them about the missed boxes/furniture (which I had to donate because I was already on the road traveling across country). Safe Ship said they could have my driver come back to get the boxes which didn’t make sense to me because the driver said they were already on their way to my destination (Colorado).
This prompted me to ask Safe Ship to confirm where my items were being stored but they said they would have to get back me…they never did. I emailed the carrier directly who responded and said that my items were not being stored in Colorado as initially stated but instead, were being stored in Rock Hill, SC (which is literally 15 min from my old house). I questioned all of this and got nowhere with the carrier. I called Safe Ship inquiring about this and was now being told that goods are ALWAYS stored near the pickup location. I decided to let this go since I at least knew where my items were currently.
Moving on, both Safe Ship and No Borders were terrible with communication and follow-up. I made countless calls and email inquiries to both with questions and issues that needed resolving. When I did actually get a human, vast majority of the time I was pushed off and promised a callback (which literally NEVER happened). I had to continue following up since no one ever called me back and each time, got a different answer/response. Fast forward to end of April… Safe Ship and No Borders did not follow the state procedure for retrieval of my items from storage and scheduling my final delivery.
When I called Safe Ship on 4/23/25 indicating I wanted to schedule my final delivery, I was supposed to receive an official "storage removal" email request from Safe Ship. Per their leadership, this email is what should be used to communicate the details of your delivery and should includes your 1st available date for delivery, delivery address, etc. I never received this email request from Safe Ship. Instead, Safe Ship and No Borders went ahead and removed my items from storage without my official request and without any communication, notification or alert TO ME. After receiving no information for days following my 4/23/25 call from either Safe Ship and No Borders, I received a call on 4/27/25 from Safe Ship informing me that the carrier was "enroute" with my items and would be ready for delivery in the next day or so.
Please note, this was 5-6 days BEFORE my 1st available date as I hadn't even taken possession of my new home yet and the carrier didn't even have my delivery address since I never completed the storage removal/delivery request form. They said since I was "unable" to accept delivery, I was now responsible for $1500 redelivery fee and $1500 shuttle fee upon final delivery. I called Safe Ship immediately about all this ridiculousness. Safe Ship confirmed that an error was made because the 1st available date I provided to them verbally back on 4/23/25 of on/after 5/4/25 was documented in their system and they confirmed that I never sent the official storage removal/delivery request email. Safe Ship contacted the owner of No Borders to discuss this error and challenge all the fees came to an agreement to waive the redelivery fee and reschedule my delivery.
The day before my rescheduled delivery, I reached out to the carrier directly to confirm ETA and was informed they won't be coming because they had a tire blowout on the truck, however no one from No Borders or Safe Ship ever notified me of this issue. I had to call and nag to even find out about this delay (night before my rescheduled delivery). Safe Ship helped me get the delivery rescheduled again. (Mind you, I just started a new job and had to request changes to my work schedule with each of these issues). The day before my final delivery on 5/14/25, No Borders went back on their initial promise and is again demanding additional payment of $1500 redelivery fee plus $1500 shuttle fee and threatened that if I don't pay it then I wouldn't get my items delivered.
I contacted Safe Ship immediately to help. Even though Safe Ship previously spoke with owner AND had the agreement to waive the fee documented in their notes, I'm now told I'm required to pay the additional fee or they won't deliver my items...for a mistake that was 100% NOT my fault. Safe Ship told me the issue would be escalated to management and I'd receive a callback...never heard a peep.
Final delivery day on 5/14/25...what a treat. I surrender and pay the extra money because I don't want my stuff held hostage any longer and am just completely wanting to be done with both of these companies at this point. After all of this nonsense, poor communication, increased costs for mistakes I did not make… almost HALF of my furniture/items are either destroyed or significantly damaged. It has taken me a good month of combing through everything to finally capture all the damages. Some things were very noticeable like a TV stand that had cabinet doors dangling before eventually falling off. Others I didn’t discover until I went to move items like my office desk which completely fell apart into pieces when I went to slide it about 1 foot to the right or my piano key cover that is now permanently wedged open because something was broken/damaged.
I've accepted the fact that there's likely nothing either Safe Ship or No Borders will do at this point to remedy any of this for me personally, but I want to ensure that this doesn't happen to anyone else. I'm reporting both to the FMSCA and posting reviews on as many platforms as possible in attempt to save other's from this type of mess.

First I get an $6000 plus estimate, pay a 50% deposit. Two days before the scheduled move Safe Ship calls to review the inventory just adding some boxes (we packed), a living room table set, a small writing desk and two wooden child's rocking chairs drove the price up another $8000. Removing everything added except the boxes still set us back another $6000. They then subcontracted another moving company to make the actual move.
We were not given a date for the movers to arrive until the day before they were supposed to come. The morning of the move, the truck arrives - it's full. They had no room on the truck for our belongings. Before doing ANYTHING, right out of the truck the driver tells me I owe another $1500. Not only was the truck full but they brought no equipment to move our belongings - especially the safe. After numerous calls to them they reschedule the move for the following day; already a day past our move out date, with another mover. Their scheduled arrival time between 8 and 10am. Having to put off our loading of belonging we were moving ourselves so as not to be in their way - we waited, and waited, and waited.
Finally at 4:00 PM after more calls and calls to Safe Ship they tell me the truck is at the door but no one was answering. I assured them I was on my front porch and there was no truck at my home. They were given the wrong address and finally arrived about 4:45 PM. The truck was empty but they still didn't bring the necessary equipment to move the safe. After going and renting the needed equipment, the three movers could still not get the safe out of our home. They called in two extra guys and finally, still requiring the assistance of my son, at 2:30 AM they had the truck loaded.
Today, delivery day the truck shows up with two guys and no lift gate on the truck to get the safe off. Their "boss" is calling me to get me to electronically sign the delivery paperwork and pay the balance even before anything is taken off the truck, even though the paperwork says to wait and note the condition of each item as it comes off. At least half a dozen items came off broken, one item, a hutch, they dropped and broke. Then they put a hole in the wall moving furniture upstairs and not even a "we're sorry about that".
The safe - in perfect condition when put on the truck, was all dented, scraped and gouged up due to the fact that they had again not bothered to bring the necessary equipment or people to get it off the truck, which was, as stated above, without a lift gate. To be honest, if I had to do it all over again, I would have had a junk dealer haul everything away and replaced it once we got here- we would have saved thousands. Knowing what I know now I wouldn't let Safe Ship move my doghouse. The "5-Star" reviews online look good, but go to social media (which I hadn't thought to do) and read what people really have to say about them.

This company SUCKS!! DO NOT USE THEM!! First off, to echo ALL these other complaints, I got one quote, they took the down payment, and then we ended up having to pay OVER DOUBLE what was initially quoted! They contracted us out to OLD COUNTRY VAN LINES, so I’ll be copying this review to them as well. Then when they got there, they told us to box things like floor lamps and our VACUUM CLEANER. Who boxes those?? So of course they charged us for THEIR boxes. They even nickel & dimed us for another $2000 for them having to SHRINKWRAP stuff!! I have moved on average once every two years the past 20 years, and NOT ONCE have ever had to box my vacuum cleaner, or PAY FOR SHRINKWRAP.
Here’s the biggest kicker: THEY LOST (probably stole) OUR 55” SAMSUNG TV, and so far aren’t even taking our concerns seriously!! Here’s the worst part: ONE group picked our stuff up, and a completely new group dropped it off. So I don’t even know how many times our shipment changed hands. When they were unloading, they set boxes every which way, upside down, on their sides, so there were at least 20 items damaged, even though I had CLEARLY marked the boxes “Fragile” or “This side up.” Save your money and DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE.

RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!! Safe Ship is an unethical, immoral business of brokers who pray on folks moving, an already horrendously stressful time in a persons life. I have been waiting to finally write this review. SafeShip is going to bait you with a GREAT price, you’re going to think, wow this is so much more in my ballpark, let’s go! They will purposely extremely underestimate how much stuff you have, to get this price. Even if you give them an exact amount of items you have. They aren’t there to physically inspect or do a video call, they have no idea what you have and they don’t care what you say.
They’re going to say (guy was named Shane or Liam for me), “Hold on let me go upstairs/run over to my boss and see if we have a truck available and what the price will be”, (pretends to do something) comes back and gives said price. You agree and sign yada yada. They tell you they will call you again like a few days before the movers are supposed to arrive. Now you are packed, you have your move out date. You have no wiggle room. You can’t hire someone last minute it will cost a fortune and you can’t stay where you are, lease is up. They have you right where they want you.
At this final call before movers they will tell you you have way more stuff and it’s way more square footage or weight than you told them. Now they are going to charge you double. This is before the movers even arrive. Had to pay it. No other options. They screwed me royally. Next the movers arrive. Not only did they underestimate the square footage for you, but they also told the movers something different. When they arrive they think you have less stuff so they have less space and less staff to do their job. It is an absolute nightmare for everyone involved. Luckily my mover guys knew they were getting screwed as well as me and I managed to get my stuff back from them, late and not in very great condition.
Except safe ship, they made out JUST FINE. They are brokers. They aren’t movers. Trust me, use a trusted mover that actually looks at your space and things before giving a quote. You will end up paying the same as those big quotes once they charge you double in the end. But now you have a terrible experience and you paid for it. Do not be me. Run as far and as fast as you can. I’ve never had a more terrible experience in my life with a business. Evil.
