SafeShip Moving Services LLC is the broker who scheduled my move with Infinity Moving Solutions LLC from NC to GA. SafeShip promised $10,000 in cargo protection (which is federally mandated) and certified, trained professionals. 93 items of mine were damaged or destroyed. Table legs broken off, china, crystal and paintings ruined. Walls and floors gouged. Lamps piled on top of one another in boxes with no padding, box springs bent and laborers throwing boxes from one to another. Day lborers picked up off the street using profanity at you. A nightmare experience you pay cash up front for. Infinity's cargo insurance was canceled May 28, 2024, for non-payment. My move February 25, 2025, allowed plenty of time for SafeShip to properly vet the mover they scheduled and find they had no cargo insurance.
SafeShip has copied and pasted how terribly sorry they are and how rigorously they investigate carriers at least 20 times, but take NO RESPONSIBILITY for not providing their promised moving services! DO NOT TRUST SAFESHIP MOVERS LLC (Vellar Holdings) NOR INFINITY MOVING SOLUTIONS LLC! These companies have no integrity! RUN, find someone else for your move! DO NOT USE A BROKER, they did not provide what was promised for a LOT of money, go direct eliminate a middle man who provides no value.
The DOT told me SafeShip has over 100 complaints. It can take up to a year for the DOT to investigate a complaint. Meanwhile these Moving companies/brokers are endangering the public driving without insurance, driving overweight and over the allowed hours (validated by the truck driver) without rest and no one is enforcing the laws. I have moved MANY times and NEVER had any breakage. 93 items damaged with SafeShip refusing to honor, their in writing promised moving services, is testimony to the fact SafeShip has no integrity and you should find another company to trust your move to!!!

Moving with Safe Ship, along with Signature Van Lines, the carrier they set us up with, was the worst experience I could have imagined. My move was around 300 miles, which the sales person I spoke with told me would take around 3 business days to be delivered (7 business days max but that that would most likely not happen). 3 business days went by and I had not heard from anyone, so I called safeship since they had not given me any carrier information. The people who picked up my items told me their boss would reach out to me about delivery. The person I spoke with from safe ship was very rude and confused why I was calling them and not the carrier, so they gave me a phone number for the carrier which was actually a disconnected line.
When I finally got a hold of a real person at this so called carrier after multiple phone calls with safeship with more rude individuals, they told me my things would be delivered the next day. The next day came along and I hadn’t heard from anyone all day so I called the number for the carrier and the phone was again disconnected or turned off. I then called safeship back and they told me the carrier ran into issues and they would reach out when they had more information. No one ever reached out to me unless I called back for them to tell me the delivery was now going to be the next day. This cycle continued of so called “issues being faced” on the carrier end with no actual contact with the carrier since they turned off their phones for 12 business days when my items finally arrived at 2:30 in the morning where they then charged me $250 extra for stairs.
Overall, the lack of communication from the “carrier” Signature Van Lines and the lack of effort from SafeShip to help me get the information was very disappointing and was mentally/emotionally very hard to go through. Also let me just add, the carrier one time told me that my items were in transit and would be arriving soon, but I had a tracker on my items and they were still 6 hours away from me…. so they also were liars. Moral of the story is that I could not recommend safeship to anyone looking to move interstate less. DO NOT TRUST the sales people, they will make it seem like a very easy pleasant experience and then set you up with a carrier who turns their phone off and lies to you throughout the whole process. DO NOT move with safeship. I hope nobody else has to go through what I went through.

I contracted with Safe Ship in August 2024 to move a four bedroom three bath home from California to North Carolina. They contracted with Perfectly Fast movers which most of the workers did not understand English. They brought two U-Haul trucks and only filled up one and a half leaving behind my guest bedroom, patio furniture, garage items all of my kitchen items. I tried to reach out to them to reschedule. I canceled once and in November a family member was in a severe car accident. I reached out again after his recovery and was told it was too late. I paid over $18,000 and still have a U-Haul truck full of household goods to move cross country. I am a disabled vet and trusted a veteran-owned company to do right by me and my family.
Many items were left such as cables, washer and dryer hook ups, office desk, chairs, and so on. I am truly disappointed and called and tried to reach out to have this made right for me. During my final attempt in July 2025 I was told they could not help me but I could pay for another move. I will never recommend Safe Ship nor Perfectly Fast movers for anyone. I had to run around and get cash once the items were delivered to the storage in North Carolina because they did not want to accept money orders or a cashier's check. I highly do not recommend this company nor the other one.

DO NOT RECOMMEND — A Frustrating Experience with Safe Ship & Midwest Moving and Storage. My move coordinated by Safe Ship and carried out by Midwest Moving and Storage LLC was by far one of the most stressful, drawn-out experiences I’ve ever had. To be clear, Midwest Moving and Storage LLC is a licensed carrier, and the driver who delivered my items was not rude or demanding. In fact, he was contracted just to drive the truck and had no awareness of the pricing situation. He arrived on July 19, which was well beyond the originally promised delivery window. But everything leading up to that was riddled with delays, poor communication, and broken promises.
My items were picked up on June 29, and I did not receive a single proactive update from the carrier. Every time I needed information, I had to initiate contact—either with the carrier directly or through a Safe Ship representative. I was repeatedly given new delivery promises: July 7, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, and finally July 19, which actually happened. Each promise came and went without delivery or proper notice. Calls went unanswered or were pushed off. One driver said he was out of driving hours and 10 hours away the evening he was supposed to arrive. Another call from the carrier came just to ask for my delivery address—weeks after they had picked up my belongings.
To Safe Ship’s credit, some reps like Nathaniel did try to help. He stayed in contact and assured me the carrier would be fined for missed delivery deadlines, and that there would be deductions from my final balance for each day late. That part remains to be seen. Still, each new rep I spoke with at Safe Ship had no idea what was going on, and I had to repeat my entire situation over and over.
When the truck finally arrived, I was told the final balance was nearly double the original quote. I was never informed ahead of time about this increase, and it only came up after my belongings were already en route and at my door. At that point, I had no choice but to pay—or be denied access to my own property. This is a classic case of extortion and violates FMCSA consumer protection guidelines for moving companies. Bottom line: I wouldn’t recommend Safe Ship or Midwest to anyone looking for a reliable, respectful, and transparent moving experience. The emotional stress, financial surprise, and logistical nightmare are not worth it.

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with this moving company and feel compelled to warn others. From the start, this move was misrepresented. My items were mishandled, and several were damaged due to a complete lack of care. Even worse, members of my family were disrespected and called names by the crew — an appalling and unprofessional display. The financial side of this experience was just as troubling. I was charged for space that was clearly not used, and the movers attempted to add unexpected charges at pickup without justification. This felt dishonest and predatory.
In an effort to resolve the situation, I left a detailed voicemail — over five minutes long — for the agent handling my grievance, describing exactly what was happening in real time. Despite that, and after more than five follow-up phone calls, no one from management has reached out to me. No one has offered help retrieving my home contents, and no one has offered even partial compensation for the unused space or the poor service. The total lack of accountability and basic customer service has been shocking. It’s clear that once they have your money, they stop caring. I urge anyone considering this company to think twice. I wish I had known what I was walking into — this has been one of the most stressful and disheartening service experiences I’ve ever had.

Do not sign a contract with this company. If you do and then have concerns, make sure you cancel it within 72 hours (that includes Sat. and Sunday). We booked this company for our move from Florida to North Carolina. It wasn’t until 30 minutes plus into the conversation, that the salesperson, Dustin, identified the company as a broker and not an actual moving company. Red flags came up about three times and each time Dustin did his best to assure me not to be concerned. I asked why they could come to the house to see its contents? Response: they haven’t done that since Covid. Why do I have to put 50% down when the contract states 35%?
Response: "Yours is a big move. We do that with bigger moves." You’re BBB accredited, correct? Response: I can tell that you’re hesitating and then texted a series of websites showing their high ratings( paid for reviews, I would realize later). He certainly didn’t text me any site with negative reviews. He was very friendly, persuasive and complimentary to our home. Dustin said he was available whenever I had a question and I signed. A few days later I called bc I had questions about missing items in the contract. No response all day after reaching out two or three times. This prompted me to do a deeper search and what I found on BBB, Reddit and this website made me literally nauseous.
I immediately tried to cancel but the woman I spoke to, Jessica I believe, said that the 72 hours had passed (in my mind, it was 3 business days) Tried to convince me that they had a luxury mover assigned to me and to stay with them; I just saw more dollar signs. Our credit card company tried to fight this but we lost. We’re out over $4800 dollars but I know that move would have been an additional $10,000, not another $4800. This company took advantage of senior citizens at a very stressful and vulnerable time, and used the “we’re Veteran operated” to reel us in. They are not honest nor trustworthy and I will leave this review everywhere I can. They should have at least refunded the 15% overcharge on the down payment. Lesson learned, I will always trust my gut feelings and never fall for a slick salesperson again. Do not trust this company!

Nick with Safe Ship Moving services. Very rude. I got a text message saying that someone was trying to contact me (text message did not include a company name) so I called as the text included a phone number to reach out to them. The person that answered was Nick. I let them know that I got a text message saying they were trying to reach me, so I was just returning that call. He very coldly and bluntly said okay so what can I help you with? As if I was inconveniencing him. IDK buddy, y'all texted me... What can I help you with???? I told him that I had booked with another company. And he said okay in a pretty rude way. I told him Thank you and Goodbye, and he hung up on me without any word.
I know this doesn't sound very weird in the sense that, yes the responses he was giving were pretty normal responses to the things I was saying. However tone and how you speak to a customer matter. And I will just say, after being quoted a ridiculous $15,000. Not kidding. $15,000 to move my townhome that was moved into from a 705sqft 1 bedroom apartment (so you have a reference that I do not have $15,000 worth of things) From CA to TX. Nick just made this company that already had a stupid high rate look even worse. Thanks for your time.

I contacted Safeship for my move, and they assigned the carrier Quick Shift to handle my moving needs. I couldn’t be happier with the service that I received. From start to finish, Jawad and his entire team were professional, efficient, and respectful of my belongings. They arrived right on time, handled everything with care, and worked quickly without cutting corners. The movers were friendly, courteous, and went out of their way to make the process stress-free. Even the tricky items and heavy furniture were moved without any issues.
The communication before, during, and after the move was excellent, and the final cost matched the quote, with no surprises. If you’re looking for a reliable moving company that truly values customer service, I highly recommend Quick Shift. Hopefully Safeship keeps Jawad and his team on my load, all the way to the final destination and doesn't make any personnel changes along the way.

Stay away! Stay AWAY! STAY AWAY!! I am a widow moving across country to be closer to family. I made arrangements 6/25/25 for Safe Ship to move me. At the time I told them that the house had not sold yet and it was always possible this whole deal could fall through. They specifically told me that there would be no problem, they would just refund the money. Now 8/9 days out from the 7/26-27 move I need to cancel. After multiple attempts I finally got hold of someone who told me that NO they would not refund the $2,744.78 I placed on deposit since I didn't cancel within the first 72 hours of making the deposit. It is my understanding that by law they must refund. I should have looked at these reviews earlier. Lesson learned.

Dealing with SafeShip was an easy process. They made this move less stressful for me and my family. Jose and his crew from Cobra Van Lines were great. They were very thorough in explaining the process to me and what to expect. They even made certain that all of my items were accounted for and listed on a tracking sheet. In addition, they made certain all my items were securely packed. They even fixed my poor packing job on items. I highly recommend using SafeShip, as well as Jose and his crew from Cobra Van Lines, for anyone looking to move.

This broker was a complete disaster for us. The moving company they contracted with, EZ movers, was late loading the truck in Dallas because we were told the original crew all were arrested that morning and were obviously not going to make it. The truck arrives at our place in Chicago and it looked as if the truck was in some sort of demolition derby. My $5,000 bed frame, $8,000 table, lamps, $4,500 dresser, all beat to shit. Also forgot to mention the add on charges beyond the original quote. To make matters worse, my wife was not offered the premium replacement insurance by these clowns, so we get $.60/lb. Loss for me on this deal is over $18,000. This company also gave us a ton of attitude. Definitely do not use these guys. And I handed out over $500 in tips to the people in Dallas that loaded the truck. Date of experience: May 19, 2025

I extremely don’t recommend Safe Ship Moving services. The night before I was called being told cash, check, venmo. I told them I had to pay with credit card. The mover called me 3 times, stating, cash, check, venmo, & each time, I told him that I had to pay with Credit card. They came with paperwork that was not filled out. I had to contact Safe Ship to find out what was going on, I had to fill it out, because the movers had no clue. I find that too bizarre. I was extremely nervous wondering what did I get myself into. Instead of sending me a link to pay the balance, I was asked to send a copy of my driver's license & the card I was using. I paid for them packing, moving, unpacking & set up. Because of the way they were processing the payment, until the transaction goes through, my stuff went into storage. The move was only 50 miles.
While filling out the blank paperwork, the mover was more concerned about the tip. I replied, “You haven’t done anything yet “. Between taking stuff I said that stayed & stuff that was supposed to go, was ridiculous. It took me a month to get my furniture and I was told by Safe Shipping I would have my furniture in 1-3 days, 3 times! I had to hire a lawyer. The day I got my furniture, they left me with a mess! Legs to my entertainment center were missing & when I asked them, his response was “legs?” Barely understood English, & were not the same movers who packed my stuff originally. I was left having to put everything together, even though I paid to have everything setup. I couldn’t wait for them to leave! I have never felt so cheated in my life! Do not use this company for your move, is my suggestion.

Avoid This Company at All Costs — A Bait-and-Switch Scam. If I could give zero stars, I would. This company scammed our family out of nearly $15,000 on a move they originally quoted as $8,000. What began with promises of a veteran-supporting, American-owned, background-checked, professional operation quickly devolved into a nightmare of deception, upcharges, and intimidation tactics.
Just days before our move, a sales rep called to upcharge us $4,000, threatening we’d lose our reservation otherwise. We were locked in with limited options, so we reluctantly agreed. When the movers arrived, they showed up in a graffiti-covered truck with no uniforms, pants halfway down, and immediately let us know we'd be charged extra for stairs—unless we gave them a great tip. My husband, trying to be kind, helped them move everything and even jump-started their dead truck at 3:00 AM. They stayed until then. No plan for lodging or food. We fed them dinner ourselves.
To make matters worse, we later found out this company is just a broker, and they subcontracted our move to a third-party crew who had no idea where they were headed next. Along the way, our belongings were shuffled through various storage units without our knowledge. When we arrived at our new location, we proactively called to ask what type of truck they’d be delivering our items in. We secured two storage units—one for semis, one for large trucks—ready to accommodate whatever they needed. They promised to call 24–48 hours in advance to confirm details. They never did.
Instead, they claimed—based on Google Maps—that our location couldn’t accommodate a semi (false), offloaded our belongings without notifying us, and slapped us with another $1,500 fee for a “truck transfer.” When we pushed back, they held our stuff hostage and said they’d charge us even more to store it elsewhere if we didn’t pay immediately. We had no choice but to comply just to get our belongings back. This company operates entirely through shady fine print and post-signing extortion. Hidden fees for stairs, walking more than 75 feet, truck type, and other nonsense added thousands to our bill. None of these were clear up front, and every promise they made was broken.
In the end, we paid almost double their original quote. They prey on families in transition, wear a mask of professionalism and patriotism to gain your trust, and then exploit you at every step. We feel sick that we ever trusted them—and devastated we didn’t choose a transparent, reputable company from the start. Please do yourself a favor: Run. Do not walk. Avoid this company at all costs.

And if I call back to ask to be taken off the list or to speak to a supervisor, they just hang up. They are based out of Florida and at this point I associate all Floridians with call center harassment. You won't catch me donating to any Florida hurricane relief funds and I now support the dismantling of FEMA. That whole state can break off and float away for all I care. I strongly advise against using Safe Ship Moving. My experience was frustrating from start to finish. The company is significantly overpriced for the service provided. When the movers arrived, they picked up a total of 54 items. Initially, I was told it would take 2 days to deliver my belongings, which then changed to 1–10 business days. Once the 10 business days passed with no update, I had to reach out to them—they never initiated any communication. I was then told it would take another 3–5 business days, with no apology or clear explanation.
When the truck finally arrived, the movers demanded full payment before unloading anything, without allowing me to verify if all my items had actually arrived. After unloading, I discovered 3 of my 54 items were missing. The lack of accountability and transparency was alarming. Throughout this process, communication was nearly nonexistent. I was always the one reaching out for updates, and responses were delayed or vague. For the amount they charge, I expected much more professionalism and basic customer care. Sadly, this company fell far short. I do not recommend using Safe Ship Moving and encourage others to look elsewhere.

They told me if I wanted it the next day it would be an additional $774. On the initial phone call no one told me it was an 18 wheeler. When they told me three days before the move I told them a 18 wheeler would not even fit in my neighborhood. There was one lie after another and unexpected additional cost that was going to break the bank. They never told me that other people were going to have their items on the truck so it wasn’t just my items, it would be others and that’s why they use an 18 wheeler. Their moving trucks are all through a broker. Fair warning - do not use this company.

Original Review: If could give less stars I would. After agreeing and signing a shipping estimate in April where we were slated to move in June, Safe Ship contacted my wife and bullied her into a new contract saying that they had not detailed the quantity of our belongings correctly. And since it was now later in the year we had to pay for summer pricing. On top of that the new contract they changed the coverage amount from full coverage to the minimum coverage. By the time we got our belongings half of my Warhammer models were broken, two of our totes were missing and we were in possession of another family's belongings. Using Safe Ship Moving Services was the most traumatizing and gut-wrenching experience of my life. Unfortunately, some of this is on me. I was nervous and had recently been diagnosed with cancer, but I did research this company on some rating site and they were listed as one of the top 3 movers. Well, I didn't realize they are simply a BROKER for local movers, so with that, they take their cut. I was first given an estimate of roughly $5,500 and paid that by credit card, then I get a notice from them that I underestimated my storage unit space, so the new price was going to be roughly $19,000. I almost had a heart attack on the spot, but things were already in motion and I'd already paid for what I thought my move was going to cost: the original $5,500.
This is such a SNEAKY WAY of doing business. They never told me they were a broker and they were going to give my move to a local mover that does out of state moves. If that were the case, I would've done research on the moving company that actually moved me. The two stars are for them, Roy's Moving Company. The gentlemen that actually moved me were great, but I HARDLY NEEDED A BROKER TO FACILITATE MY MOVE and if I were told that upfront, I would've declined using their service.
I'm so disgusted and I'm out an additional $15,000 due to this BROKER who simply handed my move off to the real movers. I'm so sick over the lost funds, but I was stuck because I signed the agreement not knowing they were not the actual movers. JUST BE CAREFUL WHO YOU CHOOSE TO MOVE YOUR LIFE FROM ONE STATE TO ANOTHER. Do your homework better than I did. There's a lot of scams out there and I was definitely taken for a ride. Once I have my receipt in hand, I'll edit and upload it for all to see. I left it at the house down south, but it should be transported back to me next week in my car.

Do not use this company. I wanted to honor our veterans so I chose these movers. They use a bait & switch method of tactics to scam people. Three days prior to move, Jeff who is a coordinator, changed the price from $6000 to nearly $15,000. It was my fault as I changed my furniture and boxes as well as I did not want my art & paintings wrapped. WHAT? Of course, it is not operated by veterans! Jeff stated "a company of that size could not have just veterans". Okay, I was the stupid one. Do not advertise the company is veteran based. My father & brother served, yet if they were not commissioned, there service did not matter. My father is 91 years old. The whole experience was time consuming & horrific during a time of moving, which is stressful enough. Many people might be forced to utilize the services as there are time restraints. I was told I was mean by Jeff. Of course, I got upset, who would not react as it's so deceptive. BEWARE!!

This company is a broker of shipping services, but they are not the actual provider. They were fabulous at setting up the move and providing an accurate cost. However, during that initial discussion they said that we could save money if we could be flexible about the delivery date. They also said that we could expect delivery within 7 days given the distance of our move.
When the carrier showed up, then came the surprises. After everything was on the truck, it became clear that we were likely not to get our stuff within a week. All of a sudden it was "Seven business days, and we are allowed up to 30 days." We waited 15 days. That was costly. I had to buy things that I would not have bought just to be able to sleep in our new home. If Safe Ship had let me know that this was a possibility, I would have paid for a guaranteed delivery date. During that time, I contacted their customer service. Often there was no response, and certainly there was no help.

Terrible customer service, gave an inaccurate quote, then charged me almost double the price. Gave the wrong information to the movers multiple times, and then tried to charge me more AGAIN to cover their own mistake. I regret ever booking with them, but I couldn't cancel because they sprung the costs on me at the last second.

We recently used Safeship Moving service for a move from Illinois to Michigan. After we agreed to a price and date of pick up and delivery we paid the deposit. We were then notified that they needed to increase the price by a $1000 because our furniture would not fit in the truck. When the truck was filled, more than 2/3 of the truck was empty. Got the run around by customer service when we called to complain and ask for a refund. And finally, we were told the truck would leave immediately to Michigan. While on the road to Michigan we were notified that it would take a week to deliver our belongings. I do not recommend using this moving company.

I moved many times in my 20 years in the Marine Corps and this was the worst move ever. The movers showed up 2 hours late and didn't have the proper tools to disassemble my beds. I was charged $1,554.00 more than the estimate even though I was told that the price was locked in. Trying to work with customer service is futile. Updated on 07/22/2025: Today is July 22nd and for the 4th time our delivery date has been changed and moved out now till August. Stanford Van Lines who Safe Ship Moving hired for household goods delivery stated they did not have a driver and now they are behind in deliveries. Our goods were picked up on July 2nd. I paid $8,000.00 for this move to be delivered in a week which is what Safe Ship Moving verbally informed me and delivery date should have been July 9th. Along with being charged more I’m now informed Stanford Van Lines has their own policy for delivery which of course Safe Ship Moving did not include in my contract. I regret the day I heard of Safe Ship Moving. They did not take care of this veterans family.
Original Review: Safe Ship Moving Services charged me over $8,000.00 stating they have lots of resources to take care of me. My household goods were picked up & when tracking my shipment see has not moved in 7 days since day one! I call customer service & Tyrone tells me the carrier they hired is waiting for a driver & did I pay for expedited shipping. No I did not but was charged extra for a two day pick up window & informed my merchandise would be delivered in 7-21 days; you didn’t read the small print Tyrone says stating they could be waiting for a driver that long & also stating I wasn't ready for pickup at new location until a week after my household items were picked up.
I told him this was not true. I had spoke with four employees telling all of them I was flying to pick up address the day after household items were picked up. They were also aware this move is for a veteran who has a terminal disease. We take care of our veterans being a veteran owned company I was told. Nothing could be further from the truth! The other company I hired was a 1/4th of the price as Safe Ship Moving Services, pickup up was one day apart & delivery was in 6 days. I thought by ensuring most household items & hiring Safe Ship Moving Services for my job I was doing a good thing.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Do yourself a favor & keep looking elsewhere for another company. The less expensive company (which the majority are cheaper than Safe Ship Moving Services) delivered in 6 days. Safe Ship Moving Services has had my items over a week & still the carrier they hired does not have a driver! Also the other company I hired I was able to speak with carrier with Safe Ship Moving Services. I’m not.

Picked up on scheduled day. I was quoted $3040 for a move. I did need to add a roll around bottom tool box and add 3 more totes. The price went up by $1000. My massage chair was quoted as a recliner, but on pickup day, they said it would cost more. They said furniture would be delivered on a specific date. Now telling me it may be 3 weeks past that date. Do not use them. When I booked the move I specifically asked for a pod type container that we could load and have moved from KY to TX. When I asked about the delivery of the pod/crate I was told it would be on either 6/30 or 7/1. I then asked after we load it ourselves, do I call them or the carrier to pick it up and move it to TX and was told yes. The deposit was paid and was told the balance would be paid in two equal installments upon pick up and delivery.
The moving truck showed up on 7/1 to pack on move us. This was not what was agreed to and after several attempts to speak with a supervisor, I was told that they are not a broker for any type of pod service. I have requested a refund and was told “someone” would call me back after they listened to all my recorded phone calls to determine what was said. That was almost a week ago. I just called again and spoke to a gentleman he knew the salesperson who told me that and didn’t act to surprised that I was lied to by him. When asked about the call back from the Compliance department and it should be “sometime” this week. We have almost lodged a dispute with our credit card company.

I didn't agree on paying them more but when the movers came, they ended up charging us $1500 more and on top of that, when we received our items, after calling those movers multiple times to deliver our stuff, 80% of the stuff was damaged, broken, scratched. This was a nightmare and still is cause now I have to file a claim for all my defective items!!!! I'm so unhappy and frustrated with all this, if you read this, stay away from this service and 101 movers from NJ. Do not trust Safe Ship Moving Services. We hired them for a long-distance move and paid extra for Guaranteed Delivery by June 2. A date clearly promised in writing. It is now well into July, and we still do not have our belongings, a driver, or even a delivery date. We’ve received conflicting information every time we called: first that our items were in transit, then that they were in storage. One agent said a driver had been assigned, another said no one had. At one point, we were told they’d try to find another carrier. Then told that wasn’t actually possible. Every call brings a new excuse or contradiction, and no one will take responsibility.
We were even told that Cita Van Lines has done "nothing wrong" except miss the Guaranteed Delivery date, and that they now have up to 30 business days to deliver, despite the contract we paid extra for. To make matters worse, they told us that even if we drove across the country and picked everything up ourselves, we’d still owe Cita the full amount.
Meanwhile, we are a family with small children and a husband with a serious medical condition. Because of this delay, we’ve incurred emergency medical bills, had to call an ambulance, and were forced to purchase new furniture just to get by. The only response we've received is that we can "take the refund off the mover’s check," not an actual refund. This company has been dishonest, negligent, and completely unaccountable. We are filing formal complaints with the FMCSA, BBB, and our Attorney General, and considering legal action. Please do not let your family go through what we have. Look elsewhere!

However, my daughter was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Left Breast Cancer which had spread to her left hip, left femur, sternum, her liver and lymph nodes. We were told it was spreading rapidly. I explained all this to the young man I spoke with and was told the time to cancel was July 1. I pleaded with him that the extenuating circumstances should be taken should warrant a refund.
I asked that he contact the owners to explain the serious nature of her cancer and he responded it would not do any good. That the owners would not grant a refund. He later sent me a Text stating he had put my move on hold and he would contact the owners. I never heard back from him. I made approximately 3-4 large moves in my life and have NEVER had such a horrible experience. I chose this company after reading some reviews, seeing that they were supposedly Veteran owned/operated and honestly after being overwhelmed with the quote process from a larger, well-known, full-service mover. My first mistake was not understanding that Safe Ship is a broker…I will never go that route again.
First warning...the bait & switch. The initial sales rep was very friendly, “helpful,” and made me feel like I was getting a very good deal at the time. I thought the over-the-phone process/questions seemed a little too simple as I'm used to companies physically looking at my household items (either in person or virtually) but was assured this is all that was needed to do it. I answered the rep's questions about my move including number of rooms/square footage I currently had and would be moving and then provided a quote of $9000. FOUR days before my scheduled pick up, I had the final “QA” call with different guy (Dylan) who is going room by room, super detailed and now suddenly my quote increased to $12,626 (total ended up over $14,000-keep reading).
When I voiced my upset over the difference, he got aggressive and berated me for not providing accurate information the first time. He also initially alluded that the carrier might not be able to accommodate such a large change in volume and after putting me on hold, he stated "I was lucky" that the carrier could still fit everything. I could share more details about this particular interaction but there’s so much more to say…because yes, it gets much worse.
I elected to have my items put into storage because I didn’t yet have a house in my new state. They “gave me” the 1st 30 days free and then gave me the option to do storage near my pick up location (Charlotte, NC) or destination location (Denver, Colorado). I selected my destination location near Denver, CO and was told they have a storage facility in Aurora, CO…perfect. I was also told that someone from SafeShip would contact me when the first 30 days of free storage was about to end to see if I wanted to extend storage or request delivery of my items. (Didn't happen.)
My items were picked up on Thursday, March 27th by the carrier, No Borders Moving, which consisted of 2 guys who didn’t speak a lick of English. I couldn’t communicate with either of them except through my limited Spanish and Google translator. They did wrap everything (but just wait) and sticker all the items but were rushing me to sign the Bill of Lading before I saw an inventory list (didn’t see this until after they loaded all my stuff and it was barely filled out). They bolted after everything was loaded on the truck and I noticed when coming back into the house they forgot two boxes and some pieces to my king bed. I immediately called the driver but was told they were already too far on the road to come back.
The next day I received a call from Safe Ship to see how my pickup went. I told them about the missed boxes/furniture (which I had to donate because I was already on the road traveling across country). Safe Ship said they could have my driver come back to get the boxes which didn’t make sense to me because the driver said they were already on their way to my destination (Colorado).
This prompted me to ask Safe Ship to confirm where my items were being stored but they said they would have to get back me…they never did. I emailed the carrier directly who responded and said that my items were not being stored in Colorado as initially stated but instead, were being stored in Rock Hill, SC (which is literally 15 min from my old house). I questioned all of this and got nowhere with the carrier. I called Safe Ship inquiring about this and was now being told that goods are ALWAYS stored near the pickup location. I decided to let this go since I at least knew where my items were currently.
Moving on, both Safe Ship and No Borders were terrible with communication and follow-up. I made countless calls and email inquiries to both with questions and issues that needed resolving. When I did actually get a human, vast majority of the time I was pushed off and promised a callback (which literally NEVER happened). I had to continue following up since no one ever called me back and each time, got a different answer/response. Fast forward to end of April… Safe Ship and No Borders did not follow the state procedure for retrieval of my items from storage and scheduling my final delivery.
When I called Safe Ship on 4/23/25 indicating I wanted to schedule my final delivery, I was supposed to receive an official "storage removal" email request from Safe Ship. Per their leadership, this email is what should be used to communicate the details of your delivery and should includes your 1st available date for delivery, delivery address, etc. I never received this email request from Safe Ship. Instead, Safe Ship and No Borders went ahead and removed my items from storage without my official request and without any communication, notification or alert TO ME. After receiving no information for days following my 4/23/25 call from either Safe Ship and No Borders, I received a call on 4/27/25 from Safe Ship informing me that the carrier was "enroute" with my items and would be ready for delivery in the next day or so.
Please note, this was 5-6 days BEFORE my 1st available date as I hadn't even taken possession of my new home yet and the carrier didn't even have my delivery address since I never completed the storage removal/delivery request form. They said since I was "unable" to accept delivery, I was now responsible for $1500 redelivery fee and $1500 shuttle fee upon final delivery. I called Safe Ship immediately about all this ridiculousness. Safe Ship confirmed that an error was made because the 1st available date I provided to them verbally back on 4/23/25 of on/after 5/4/25 was documented in their system and they confirmed that I never sent the official storage removal/delivery request email. Safe Ship contacted the owner of No Borders to discuss this error and challenge all the fees came to an agreement to waive the redelivery fee and reschedule my delivery.
The day before my rescheduled delivery, I reached out to the carrier directly to confirm ETA and was informed they won't be coming because they had a tire blowout on the truck, however no one from No Borders or Safe Ship ever notified me of this issue. I had to call and nag to even find out about this delay (night before my rescheduled delivery). Safe Ship helped me get the delivery rescheduled again. (Mind you, I just started a new job and had to request changes to my work schedule with each of these issues). The day before my final delivery on 5/14/25, No Borders went back on their initial promise and is again demanding additional payment of $1500 redelivery fee plus $1500 shuttle fee and threatened that if I don't pay it then I wouldn't get my items delivered.
I contacted Safe Ship immediately to help. Even though Safe Ship previously spoke with owner AND had the agreement to waive the fee documented in their notes, I'm now told I'm required to pay the additional fee or they won't deliver my items...for a mistake that was 100% NOT my fault. Safe Ship told me the issue would be escalated to management and I'd receive a callback...never heard a peep.
Final delivery day on 5/14/25...what a treat. I surrender and pay the extra money because I don't want my stuff held hostage any longer and am just completely wanting to be done with both of these companies at this point. After all of this nonsense, poor communication, increased costs for mistakes I did not make… almost HALF of my furniture/items are either destroyed or significantly damaged. It has taken me a good month of combing through everything to finally capture all the damages. Some things were very noticeable like a TV stand that had cabinet doors dangling before eventually falling off. Others I didn’t discover until I went to move items like my office desk which completely fell apart into pieces when I went to slide it about 1 foot to the right or my piano key cover that is now permanently wedged open because something was broken/damaged.
I've accepted the fact that there's likely nothing either Safe Ship or No Borders will do at this point to remedy any of this for me personally, but I want to ensure that this doesn't happen to anyone else. I'm reporting both to the FMSCA and posting reviews on as many platforms as possible in attempt to save other's from this type of mess.

First I get an $6000 plus estimate, pay a 50% deposit. Two days before the scheduled move Safe Ship calls to review the inventory just adding some boxes (we packed), a living room table set, a small writing desk and two wooden child's rocking chairs drove the price up another $8000. Removing everything added except the boxes still set us back another $6000. They then subcontracted another moving company to make the actual move.
We were not given a date for the movers to arrive until the day before they were supposed to come. The morning of the move, the truck arrives - it's full. They had no room on the truck for our belongings. Before doing ANYTHING, right out of the truck the driver tells me I owe another $1500. Not only was the truck full but they brought no equipment to move our belongings - especially the safe. After numerous calls to them they reschedule the move for the following day; already a day past our move out date, with another mover. Their scheduled arrival time between 8 and 10am. Having to put off our loading of belonging we were moving ourselves so as not to be in their way - we waited, and waited, and waited.
Finally at 4:00 PM after more calls and calls to Safe Ship they tell me the truck is at the door but no one was answering. I assured them I was on my front porch and there was no truck at my home. They were given the wrong address and finally arrived about 4:45 PM. The truck was empty but they still didn't bring the necessary equipment to move the safe. After going and renting the needed equipment, the three movers could still not get the safe out of our home. They called in two extra guys and finally, still requiring the assistance of my son, at 2:30 AM they had the truck loaded.
Today, delivery day the truck shows up with two guys and no lift gate on the truck to get the safe off. Their "boss" is calling me to get me to electronically sign the delivery paperwork and pay the balance even before anything is taken off the truck, even though the paperwork says to wait and note the condition of each item as it comes off. At least half a dozen items came off broken, one item, a hutch, they dropped and broke. Then they put a hole in the wall moving furniture upstairs and not even a "we're sorry about that".
The safe - in perfect condition when put on the truck, was all dented, scraped and gouged up due to the fact that they had again not bothered to bring the necessary equipment or people to get it off the truck, which was, as stated above, without a lift gate. To be honest, if I had to do it all over again, I would have had a junk dealer haul everything away and replaced it once we got here- we would have saved thousands. Knowing what I know now I wouldn't let Safe Ship move my doghouse. The "5-Star" reviews online look good, but go to social media (which I hadn't thought to do) and read what people really have to say about them.

This company SUCKS!! DO NOT USE THEM!! First off, to echo ALL these other complaints, I got one quote, they took the down payment, and then we ended up having to pay OVER DOUBLE what was initially quoted! They contracted us out to OLD COUNTRY VAN LINES, so I’ll be copying this review to them as well. Then when they got there, they told us to box things like floor lamps and our VACUUM CLEANER. Who boxes those?? So of course they charged us for THEIR boxes. They even nickel & dimed us for another $2000 for them having to SHRINKWRAP stuff!! I have moved on average once every two years the past 20 years, and NOT ONCE have ever had to box my vacuum cleaner, or PAY FOR SHRINKWRAP.
Here’s the biggest kicker: THEY LOST (probably stole) OUR 55” SAMSUNG TV, and so far aren’t even taking our concerns seriously!! Here’s the worst part: ONE group picked our stuff up, and a completely new group dropped it off. So I don’t even know how many times our shipment changed hands. When they were unloading, they set boxes every which way, upside down, on their sides, so there were at least 20 items damaged, even though I had CLEARLY marked the boxes “Fragile” or “This side up.” Save your money and DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE.

RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!! Safe Ship is an unethical, immoral business of brokers who pray on folks moving, an already horrendously stressful time in a persons life. I have been waiting to finally write this review. SafeShip is going to bait you with a GREAT price, you’re going to think, wow this is so much more in my ballpark, let’s go! They will purposely extremely underestimate how much stuff you have, to get this price. Even if you give them an exact amount of items you have. They aren’t there to physically inspect or do a video call, they have no idea what you have and they don’t care what you say.
They’re going to say (guy was named Shane or Liam for me), “Hold on let me go upstairs/run over to my boss and see if we have a truck available and what the price will be”, (pretends to do something) comes back and gives said price. You agree and sign yada yada. They tell you they will call you again like a few days before the movers are supposed to arrive. Now you are packed, you have your move out date. You have no wiggle room. You can’t hire someone last minute it will cost a fortune and you can’t stay where you are, lease is up. They have you right where they want you.
At this final call before movers they will tell you you have way more stuff and it’s way more square footage or weight than you told them. Now they are going to charge you double. This is before the movers even arrive. Had to pay it. No other options. They screwed me royally. Next the movers arrive. Not only did they underestimate the square footage for you, but they also told the movers something different. When they arrive they think you have less stuff so they have less space and less staff to do their job. It is an absolute nightmare for everyone involved. Luckily my mover guys knew they were getting screwed as well as me and I managed to get my stuff back from them, late and not in very great condition.
Except safe ship, they made out JUST FINE. They are brokers. They aren’t movers. Trust me, use a trusted mover that actually looks at your space and things before giving a quote. You will end up paying the same as those big quotes once they charge you double in the end. But now you have a terrible experience and you paid for it. Do not be me. Run as far and as fast as you can. I’ve never had a more terrible experience in my life with a business. Evil.

When going with Safeship, we initially felt okay about our choice. I’M WRITING THIS TO WARN YOU. Safeship linked us up with the 3rd party Royal Jordan Moving LLC. Safeship will not take responsibility for their 3rd party moving company which I find absolutely appalling. When calling to let them know all that went wrong with our move, their response from a manager was to call Royal Jordan– to which they of course replied in their own favor and said everything they did was protocol. This is not an appropriate response to a customer complaint.
The following is all that went wrong with Safeship and Royal Jordan Moving LLC: Our Safeship Rep told us our move would be 1 to 3 days. Royal Jordan sent 2 people to come pick up our things on May 21st at which point they told us it would be 7 to 10 business days. Okay great, no problem. Business day 11 comes – we have received no phone call from either Safeship or Royal Jordan about where our things are or why we haven’t been contacted so I reach out to them. Safeship calls Royal and states to me that it is in storage. I ask why and Royal Jordan says, "Sorry about the inconvenience, we will take 200$ off of the final cost at drop off – your things should be there between 9th and 10th, but we have UP TO 30 business DAYS (this was never told to us ever in any of the process from the beginning)." Again, no call from either company and the 10th has come and gone.
So now I reach out to Royal Jordan directly where I cry to the manager because at this point we truly do not know if we are getting our things or if this is a scam. She states she promises our things are coming. We get a call on the 12th! Delivery will be the 15th. The 15th comes and goes. I call and am now extremely frustrated. There has been ZERO COMMUNICATION the entire time with this process which is now at 30 days (not business days- that would’ve put us at July 5th). Because of my frustration during the phone call, I am told we will be given another 200$ off of the final payment at drop off. Delivery day comes yay! June 21st. We receive phone calls and texts ONE HOUR before they are to arrive. They came with ONE DELIVERY PERSON to unpack an entire truck.
I called Safeship to let them know that my disabled veteran husband who did 4 combat tours (back completely torn to shreds) is helping the poor man. Safeship’s answer was then to call Royal Jordan and their answer was that the move only required one man. It didn’t. They sent 2 men to pack up our home. No man can lift an entire couch by himself up a flight of stairs, never mind some of the other furniture we had. I did not respond to the manager when she came back on the line with that answer – I knew at that moment neither company had any integrity whatsoever. I hung up and came here to warn others. So now we are out $400 (total was $3600) and we are missing 100LBS worth of dumbbells that never made it to us. I took the time to write this to warn others not to use either company. My information was forwarded to Safe Ship Movers by mistake and they have been harassing me ever since. I see that the reviews are all split between 5* & 1*. I had a 5* experience with Safe Ship. They are only the broker and the issues are with the companies they hire to do the actual moving. We had great communication on the pick up. On time and very polite and thorough. A little lack of communication on the drop off but once here, these guys were rock stars. I can't express my gratitude enough for the workers themselves at Fabri Express LLC.

Super expensive now! I called them and they don't send people onsite for estimation, they can only do facetime video for the quote, and when they give you a quote, it seems that there is no standard, big mouth, start from double of other vendors, when I say it is way too expensive, they said they can cut 1/3 of the quote, totally not trustable!

Started out as a good experience but has quickly turned into a nightmare. They quickly got me signed up but 1 mo. before my move I had questions but could never get a call back. The Company bringing my items say they have 30 days to get my stuff to me. This must be something that Rhett read to me pretty fast while reading the contract because I don’t remember that. Their contractor, Cita Van Lines, still has my items in KCMO and say they are trying to find a driver! Everyone knew this cross-country move was taking place yet no driver was reserved! Safe Ship doesn’t seem to care. So now I have to buy new items to get by because everything I paid thousands of dollars to move will (hopefully) be here within 30 days when I thought it would take 5-10 days from pickup.
Every time I try to call or email safe ship, it takes days to get back to me. I have yet to speak/hear from the same person. Originally Rhett told me if I had questions, to contact him or Joseph. Neither have been reachable. I thought by being veteran owned it would be safe to hire them but I guess I was wrong. At this point, I have nobody to contact to get things moving. I just want my stuff!

My wife and I's experience with a cross-country move with SafeShip was the worst moving experience either of us has ever had and we would not recommend this company to anyone undertaking a similar venture. After paying nearly $20,000 (when we were originally quoted at $11k) and waiting for a period of time close to double what they told us, I will not be using them again. Our experience was marked by: 1. High-pressure sales tactics that promise you things that were ultimately not delivered, including information about costs and timelines. This "bait and switch" experience has been reported by other customers in other reviews and I can confirm it was our experience as well.
2. Poor customer service when we needed it. Every time we called the customer service line to get information or ask a question it turned into an extended, frustrating experience (e.g. +1 hour on the phone to address simple questions about insurance, which they never actually answered). It seemed like a new person answering the phone each time who either invented information and/or excuses for our concerns. The lack of consistency and just sheer amount of time it took to get answers/information was exhausting.
3. The fact that the moving company they hired to move our belongings sub-contracted the work mid-move without informing us, which also coincided with a delivery time far outside of their estimate (20 days from pickup, when we were initially told 1-10 days). This caused stress and complications w/r/t ensuring payment upon delivery, greatly decreased our trust, and just made the whole waiting experience that much more difficult and uncertain.
4. Constant passing the buck and zero accountability. While waiting in those 20 days I called their offices (or the carrier they told me they were using and one representative told me to call directly for information) no less than half a dozen times and was told each time I'd "be receiving a phone call in the next day or two" with more information, which never arrived until the day before delivery. Only then did I learn (from the delivery driver, not SafeShip) that the carrier I had signed a contract with was no longer the carrier being used. When we spoke to a customer service agent that evening and expressed our concerns and frustrations about this situation, we were argued with and were basically told SafeShip "hadn't done anything illegal," which pretty much tells you exactly what their attitude is in dealing with customers.
I could not in good conscience recommend this company to any one of my friends or family. I can appreciate the issues that arose with our move were partially circumstantial (e.g. the summer is a busy time, it was a long move), but that isn't my problem with the experience. My problem is the substandard (and straight-up deceitful) communication, transparency, and unacceptable level of customer service we received. This company clearly feels they owe their customers nothing after taking enormous amounts of their money.
The thing I learned from this experience is whatever money or hassle you think you are saving by using a "moving broker" (at least this one), you probably aren't. You're just adding a middle-entity to an already stressful and complex process. Next time I plan to find an actual moving company I can trust and work with them directly, and I would strongly recommend anyone considering SafeShip to seek out another option.
The only positive aspect of this experience was the quality of work conducted by the actual moving teams who handled our belongings. Urosh and Dwight from Arrow Moving Services at pickup and Ramsey and his crew from Top Flight at delivery were incredibly professional, skilled, courteous, and communicative. It's a shame the people managing them in the offices don't have the same level of respect and consideration for their customers.

They totally misrepresented the refund policy. We heard that we could cancel anytime without penalty. That they understand plans change when moving. We were not told that our 50% deposit ($1700) was not refundable. We would have never signed 4 months before our move because plans do change. So, when we decided to move ourselves 1 month before our move, we tried to cancel and we could not get anyone to respond. No services were rendered!! We then disputed the charge with our credit card company. We are still fighting to get our $1700 back!! DO NOT USE THIS KIND OF SERVICE!! You are better off hiring a large moving company!! These people are shameless. I am Vet and a RN--which they played on and made me feel like a was getting a discount for my service. SafeShip is a total scam operation. They bait you with a high quote, then “negotiate” it down to seem fair—just to jack it up days before your move. They charged me for stairs after I’d already told them I was on the third floor, then slapped on hidden fees like $75 for every 75 feet from the truck to the door. None of this was disclosed upfront—because their entire business model relies on springing charges too late to walk away.
They made me sign the contract over the phone with no time to read it. That’s not a mistake—it’s manipulation. Then the movers didn’t even show up on move day. When I had to cancel, they were rude, unapologetic, and kept my money. Zero accountability. Zero refund. They hide behind their “veteran-owned” image to earn trust, but this company is predatory, deceptive, and completely unprofessional. Avoid SafeShip like your sanity depends on it!

SNAKE SALESMEN, STAY AWAY!!!! This is not a moving company. This is a broker. They were dishonest from the start. The con began when they told me that they just happened to need a truck in Telluride around the time of my move to Durango and that they could accommodate me. (see how they created urgency, if I wanted this great price I would have to jump on this time slot before it vanished). They gave us a too good to be true price (but that was because they were going that way anyway supposedly).
When the time neared, they wanted this exhaustive list of inventory or for me to get on a video call with the guy who saw our inventory (two already packed ready to move 70% full storage units). I spent two hours on the phone with Brian who said he would have to put me on hold to talk to the expert on figuring out the square footage needed blah, blah, blah, he probably went to the bathroom and/or made a sandwich.
Long story short, we had an original quote and contract for 10K which he upped to 15K (which is understandable). I explained that a week day would be better for the guys loading the truck because the overhead garage door to the inside climate controlled unit was only open during weekday business hours. Still they scheduled the move for Sunday, Father's Day. They said that the movers would come between 9-12). Then when I called they said it would be between 10-2. I don't even think they had assembled the crew or left NJ yet at that point.
One truck and three guys show up at 4:50. He apologized for the delay referencing that it was hard to get guys who wanted to work on Father's Day. Then the driver said that I was going to need more square footage and I would need to sign another contract. He said he couldn't start loading until I signed another contract for another 5K. A second truck pulled up with three more guys. Guys that didn't look like the "white glove" movers I was promised. Mind you the "Broker" told me that I was getting one of the best companies they had... Yada, yada, yada. The guys got out of the truck, two of them wondered off...Meanwhile I am calling my husband, the driver is calling his supervisor.
When I come back I clearly smell the aroma of marijuana. They clearly have a system where they think they have you over a barrel and most people pay the extra. What I found out was that they were not in fact going to be driving straight to Durango with our stuff but back to a warehouse in NJ (from CT). So my stuff, in two different trucks, would be loaded and unloaded by these pot smoking hired hands not once but twice. The scam is that then they would hold your stuff ransom at the other end if you ever even saw your stuff again. Brian, clearly had a good understanding of what the job would require or he would not have sent two trucks.
The first truck had a 2000 cubic square foot capacity. We contracted for 2350 cubic square feet. They were trying to tell me that I would fill up both trucks, the supervisor was speaking double talk circles, saying that it could not be determined at that point that my stuff would only take up 2350 Cubic feet and I was using the same logic, that it couldn't be determined that it would take up more. The driver kept saying that they couldn't start loading until we signed another contract. The question was also asked several times throughout the process, "When will someone be there in Colorado to receive the shipment?" Which I kept saying, my husband was there to receive it at any time.
I didn't read the contract that was presented to me on that Father's Day, who would have time to read it at that moment (I am sure they understand that people won't read it so they can change or add anything they want) and I can only believe that in there it will say that they have the right to store your stuff and and charge an appropriate storage fee...Our first contract mentioned something about how they would store your things for free for 7 days....I didn't pay much mind to this because we weren't planning to need storage at all and were told our stuff was going from CT to Co because they needed to pick up in Telluride. That first guy was a liar and would say anything to get the initial bite, and the first contract had a 72 hour cancellation policy.
After 72 hours they come at you with the need to update your inventory and the cubic square footage. You can reserve with a 33.3% down payment using a credit card and then they require cash or Zelle at pick up and delivery. Basically they are NOT a reputable company, they stole our money and wasted our time. Brian didn't even call us back. DO NOT BE FOOLED.

We initially hired Safe Ship Moving Services — a licensed moving broker (DOT: 3475743, MC: 1139083-B) — to coordinate our move. After paying them, all communication ceased. Our calls now go straight to voicemail, and despite repeated attempts, we have never received a return call. Unbeknownst to us at the time, Safe Ship then sold our job to Quick Shift Moving without being upfront. The nightmare grew from there. Quick Shift Moving took possession of all our belongings — our entire household for a family of five, including furniture, clothing, personal effects, and irreplaceable family keepsakes — and assured us delivery would occur well before the 21-day window outlined in the contract. However, the 21 days came and went, at which point they informed us they count only “business days,” pushing the window even further. It has now been 27 days since they took our belongings, and we have been left completely in the dark.
Even more troubling, after they had already loaded all our property onto their truck, Quick Shift abruptly changed the agreed-upon payment terms. They originally told us we could pay by credit card, but once they had everything in their possession, they demanded payment in cash or a USPS money order with the payee left blank — an obviously suspicious and highly unethical demand. On the scheduled day of delivery, the driver was supposed to arrive between 9 AM and 12 PM. He failed to appear, gave a vague and inaccurate estimated time of arrival, was extremely unprofessional — hanging up on me and texting me to “leave him alone” — and then disappeared entirely. Quick Shift was unable to contact their own driver and then stopped answering our calls as well.
As of now, we have no idea where our belongings are. Given Quick Shift Moving's pattern of dishonesty, lack of transparency, suspicious payment practices, and failure to deliver or communicate, we are now forced to assume they have lost, stolen, or failed to protect our property. This entire process has been an absolute nightmare for our family. Between the unresponsive broker (Safe Ship Moving Services) who misled us at the outset and Quick Shift Moving’s breaches of contract, unethical behavior, and outright disappearance, we believe we have been scammed and are victims of potential theft. Our belongings — including irreplaceable family memories — are being held hostage.

SafeShip (the broker) handed us off to Plymouth, and when things went wrong, each company pointed fingers at the other. We were quoted $16,000 after a detailed call, but when the movers arrived, they demanded $4,000 more. With no options, we had to pay. Delivery was late by over a week (we were promised 10 days), and we were stuck in a hotel at our own expense. Several items were damaged, and the insurance coverage we were told we had turned out to be based on weight—not value. A $1,200 coffee table? We’re being offered $84. Zero accountability. This review change is partly due to recent conversations I had with Jake **, a customer experience team member at Safe Ship. We had two productive phone calls after my not-so-pleasant experience with my move. Jake was assigned to rectify my situation and, after listening to my concerns, made me feel valued and understood. He acknowledged that he couldn’t change what had happened, but he was determined to help ease my frustration.
Without going into unnecessary details, Jake truly cared about my experience and went above and beyond by calling me back the next day and making an executive decision that aligned with my perspective. We both ended on the same page without any misunderstandings.
Jake made sure I was contacted by the movers, Fabri Express, and after his efforts I did hear from Zenio, a service team member from Fabri Express. For the first time during the entire moving process, I felt like we were all on the same page, as Zenio new my entire situation and also seemed to have true concern for what had happened and again everything was explained to me.

It's only one person parking your loads so most of your things will be breaking. Try to read your contract before signing it. I was forced to sign an empty paper telling me that will leave me stranded if I don't sign it and that was when my load was 70 percent parked in the truck.
I also gave the guy $300 tip that he requested over and over. I was maltreated because I am a lady and alone. Safe moving company manager was supposed to give me a tv box but she never send it over to the guy. Now my two tvs are all wrap in a blankets and 60 percent of my loads were damaged due to having one guy moving my things. Updated to 3 stars. I have a big move on July 1 or 2. My price changed for the shipping of two vehicles back to what I said I wouldn’t pay as I paid less with other carriers so they decreased it just for it to change again day of pick up. Safe Ship is moving my 2 bedroom house 900 miles back to my home state. I changed it from a 4 bedroom to 2 bedroom and they kept the $7000 instead of reimbursing from a 4 bedroom to a 2 bedroom. This was during the 3 day window to cancel as well. Their priority is taking your money.

Gavin with Safe Ship is very kind and does respond to text messages. You can’t get them on the phone at all. As soon as you speak with them they provide a quote and want your money and practically beg for it. This is my first time moving on my own as a single mother a full house and two vehicles. My vehicles were supposed to be picked up today or tomorrow. No follow up call. I have called three times this week and Safe Ship Auto states they will call me back in which I do not get a call back. I called again at 5:30p and they said they have a carrier but do not have a time of pick up yet. I asked if they have a carrier who confirmed in which they said yes but refused to give me the carrier’s name. Please explain this?
I have a family heirloom I am shipping. A 1965 Plymouth barracuda. Why can’t they give me the carrier who is shipping my car 900 miles away?? Also, they got me with my move of my home. I can’t get a refund now and everything is falling apart. There is no trust in this company. Once they got their money they are done with you. It’s too late to back out. They already got $7000 for my move of my home and $750 for shipping for my two vehicles. They can’t even promise if they will pick up my vehicles tomorrow when I scheduled this 3 weeks ago! More than enough time to confirm carrier with date. I’m trying to decide to back out and cut my loses and find a safe trustworthy company. This has been a nightmare since day 1!

The rep who created our estimate assured me that he would find me a company with a dedicated 26' truck for our move because our new apartment is in a gated community bordered by two highways and can't fit a semi. He DID NOT tell me that the movers would pick up in a 26' to shuttle it to an 18-wheeler. He DID NOT tell the movers about this issue. Imagine my surprise when the driver (who isn't even employed by the movers!) called me to tell me he can't fit the truck and has to charge me for the shuttle. Imagine my further surprise when, after going back and forth for a while (May 31 to June 18), neither SafeShip nor the movers gave a damn, but instead gave the ultimatum "pay for the shuttle, rent your own truck, or we gonna hold your stuff hostage and then it's gonna get REAL expensive."
Peter ** was the SafeShip rep who created the binding estimate; I didn't talk to him again after he took payment on May 21. I had to get bounced around by SafeShip call center associates (Taylor and Dennis were legit good people; the rest were uncaring). I was then told that I didn't pay for a 26' truck (which is WHAT I TOLD THEN I NEEDED); I paid for space on a truck that the movers would contract out. The movers (Petrolino Moves) were equally dodgy. They had the nerve to get annoyed when I started asking for updates on delivery of my own property when we passed the window THEY gave (because I had equipment on the truck I needed to start work). Then they got pissed off because "all the big movers, Coleman, American Van Lines, Mayflower, they all use semis" and I should basically just shut up and pay up.
Funny thing, the FIRST time they were supposed to deliver my stuff, it wasn't even on the truck of the driver who called (his name was Oscar; great guy). Today, after a fair bit of bickering, I got my own truck after a rather nasty "my company's not covering this, so you can either get a U-Haul or we'll put it in storage and you can pay even more later." SafeShip claimed to have convinced the movers to give me a discount on the shuttle (that we shouldn't have needed and wouldn't have agreed to pay for), but wouldn't cover the cost despite it being THEIR rep who set this up. I ask you, good reader, if I haven't been able to work due to my items being in transit and I used my savings to cover the move and set myself up, how then could I afford a service I fully explained I wouldn't need because I couldn't use and therefore didn't pay for?
The lessons were learned, folks. I have to pick up a truck tomorrow to get my stuff from movers I paid to deliver to my doorstep because SafeShip lied and Petrolino Moves doesn't care about inconvenience. If you can, do it yourself or speak directly with a moving company who will lay it ALL out for you. Don't use a 3rd party and for God's sake, don't use SafeShip.

We called to cancel within several hours of booking (definitely within the 72 hours required by Safe Ship). We were transferred around to several sales people and managers urging us not to cancel. They wanted to know our reasoning. One person said our cancelling was costing Safe Ship money and we needed a valid reason. Finally, the last person we spoke to told us we could not cancel today because the cancellation department had gone home for day. We were told to call back tomorrow. We called back the next day (once again within the 72 hour cancellation window) and were transferred around again to several managers asking why we were cancelling. Same song and dance.
Finally they said they will process the cancellation and told us to hold. We were put on hold and they immediately hung up. We have $6500 tied up on a credit card and we are not sure that we are going to receive our refund or even that they cancelled it. We will continue to call and hopefully get the refund. Beware also... they will book with half of the quote on a credit card, but they require the rest of the payment in cash when they come to do the move. Cash??!! I would be weary of any company that request payment in cash. Especially in this day and age.

I will start with the positive. It will be short. The company that Safeship brokered for the move did a good job. That is the full extent of anything positive about Safeship. They are, in my opinion, incredibly dishonest. Here is what to expect if you deal with them. You will get an initial quote after a video call with one of their sales reps. They will tell you this price is what you will pay unless you change something. That is a lie, that only becomes clear later in the process. They will, of course, expect a down payment. For the down payment, they will accept usual forms of payment.
You will also be told you can cancel up 72 hours before the scheduled move date. That's another lie. You have 72 hours from the time they get your money. After you get the quote, and more than 72 hours after you make the initial payment, there will be a "quality" call with someone different than who gave the initial quote. That call was outside the 72 hours during which they promise you can get a refund. That's when the price increases begin. It was more than $3,000. You will be told this is due to all the variables in the moving industry.
When I attempted to cancel and get my money back they offered to cancel but wouldn't refund the deposit. That came during the phone call from someone above the "quality" person. Because the initial payment was more than $5,000 I went forward with the move. Final payments are made directly to and in the company name that does the actual move at the direction of Safeship, not to Safeship. That has to be in cash, via an app or postal money order. I suspect, but cannot conclusively state that this is structured to evade reporting requirements for transactions over $10,000. The actual movers also indicated that if you don't initially leave a positive review, they receive lower pay. Again, my opinion is that Safeship is incredibly dishonest. I literally have nothing good to say about them and will not ever recommend or use them again.

We contracted Safe Ship Movers for a move from upstate New York to Washington, DC. We are a dual military family. My wife has to PCS ahead of me, so we were splitting our household goods in half. Safe Ship Moving contracted the packing/pickup to Pack & Care and Fabri Express LLC, respectively. Long story short, the movers that they contracted stole our engagement and wedding rings. The company has not made this right in any way. If anyone from these two subcontracted companies comes to your move, watch them like hawks, take pictures, or better yet, keep them out of your home. These people should not be trusted. Hoping the police will do better than Safe Ship Movers.

Safe Ship Moving is a Fraud. They signed a BINDING Agreement with me based on WEIGHT for an artificially low price. They sent a literally fraudulent a completely made-up inventory list to the Carrier for pickup despite having the REAL, excessively detailed one, in their possession. They then proceeded to send a CUBIC FEET based Carrier who did not honor the Weight based contract and tried to increase the price by. . . Wait for it. . . $20,000 on the spot! I sent them away because they could not honor the contract and they also blamed Safe Ship for not sending the right carrier OR informing them of the inventory, which was essential to make sure they had the space.
Is that all? NO. I had to find my OWN Carrier to move. . . . Safe Ship REFUSED to refund the Broker Fee even though they fraudulently induced me into a Weight-Based Contract, send a Fraudulent Inventory list, and then they make you call a CALL CENTER for emergencies full of low level people who just don't care, won't solve your problem, and are just trained to say "oh well, I guess you are screwed, but we are keeping your money". . . And after hiriing a law firm, filing BBB Complaints, and now preparing a Civil Lawsuit (even our lawyers have Communicated with them) - They STILL won't escalate the matter to a single manager, leader, etc. . Instead, we get some part-time independent contractor who reads the same damn script.
This company is a complete and utter Fraud. Avoid them. . If you don't, call and we will represent you in the lawsuit against them for screwing customers. They literally don't give a shit about you. The sales people will lie and tell you they will be "with you for the move" and then disappear the minute they get the commission. We are filing complaints with the regulators now. BEWARE! Admitted that. Brokered A mover.

If there was a way to give this company a ZERO, I would. We recently moved from Midland, Texas to El Paso. We had a bad experience with our move to Midland, so we decided to hire a professional company to help us. Be advised that Safe Ship is NOT a moving company. They charge you to FIND you a mover. We could have saved thousands of dollars by just finding a company on our own, but we didn't understand how this business works at the time. I called and spoke to a gentleman who took down our information about what we were moving. We had a lot of stuff to move. He said that, luckily, there was a large truck similar to the big Mayflower trucks that would be moving a family to Midland and it would be easy to just have that truck pick us up on the way back to El Paso.
He even gave me a discount for the mileage for the trip to Midland. We arranged for the trip and all seemed well. My wife got a follow-up call from the actual moving company (Perfectly Fast Moving). Most of what was agreed to with Safe Ship was thrown out the window. If someone from Safe Ship is reading this, you might want to steer clear of this company. They are giving YOU a bad name because you recommend them. We paid over $17,000 above what we paid Safe Ship and it was a nightmare. Long story short, Safe Ship steered us into the moving equivalent of an iceberg!!! We were doomed!! If you decide to trust Safe Ship, that's on you. If they connect you with Perfectly Fast Moving, hang up and save your money and your sanity.

Bait and switch, too many people involved. Did not know they subcontracted, I was moving from Delaware to Florida. First of all they were supposed to be there at 12, they showed up at 5:30 which screwed my plans, I needed to leave to get to Florida. They were there until 11pm and I needed to do some things after the garage was empty, I needed to leave at 6 am to get to Florida for my settlement on Monday. Not only that, somehow my price doubled, didn’t have any furniture moved. Definitely a bait and switch, almost 4000 dollars to move boxes and pictures. They are supposed to deliver my furniture tomorrow 6/9/25 and it’s 3:00 and haven’t heard a word from them. Also I have to pay cash for the balance, something is off and I WOULD NOT recommend this company to my worst enemy.

We sought out Safe Ship Moving Service to move our daughter's belongings and they gave us a fair price at the beginning but three days prior to the move they increased the price by one third for a few extra boxes. They hired Cita Van Lines who did the same by hiring a third party driver who tried to extract an additional fee for "shuttling" the goods to our final destination even though he could have delivered as planned. DO NOT USE either of these companies.

Be very wary of using Safe Ship Moving Services. I should have done a better review before signing an agreement with them. The Sales Person that worked the quote with me was knowledgeable and courteous and assured me that Safe Ship had done thousands of moves and that my possessions would be in the very best of hands. The Sales Person assured me that they would be my personal contact during the entire process and any questions or concerns would be personally handled by them. I bought the ** hook, line and sinker. As the agreed pick up date approached it became necessary to push this date out. I sent and email to the Sales Rep that had personally guaranteed their support throughout the process. No Response. I called the phone number I was provided.
The Rep did pick up, but it seemed to me that when they realized I was an existing customer that wanted to make some changes and had some questions, I was quickly told that they were on a motorcycle stopped at a red light and could not talk. I was told they would call back in about an hour and a half and they hung up. No call back. I was suspicious of this red light excuse as I heard no motorcycle or any other traffic noises. The following day I texted, called and emailed the Sales Rep. No responses. I then called the standard Customer Service line and reached a receptionist who informed me that they would immediately transfer my call to a representative that could assist with a new order for service.
When I explained that I needed to revise my scheduled pick up and had some additional questions that required answers, I was transferred, followed by hold music for approximately 5 minutes, then transferred back to the original receptionist. The receptionist informed me that no one was available to take my call. Hmmm, there was no waiting on placing a new order. With this I became very worried about my move and found all of the negative reviews that warned potential customers of the lack of service and response that I was now experiencing. At this point I realized I had made a very serious mistake in trusting and agreeing to do business with Safe Ship. I followed the terms in the Cancelation of Service section of the agreement and provided an in-writing request to the specified email address to immediately cancel the job.
Amazingly this email did get a phone call response rather quickly from someone who wanted to attempt to resolve the issues. By this time, I had lost all confidence that Safe Ship would meet their obligations and not hit me with additional charges or hold my possessions hostage until their extortion requests were met. I wanted out and requested immediate cancelation. I was informed several times that because 3 days had passed sine the agreement was signed that my ~50% deposit of ~$7,500 would be forfeited. The Rep on the phone indicated that someone from the cancelation department would be in touch. About 30 minutes later I received an email confirming the cancelation and indicating that my deposit per the agreement was not refundable. They did offer a one year credit in the amount of the deposit should I change my mind about using Safe Ship. No chance of that happening.
My gut feeling after reading the current reviews and experiencing the lack of service directly, was that Safe Ship was very likely to invoke exorbitant hidden prices and hold my possession hostage. It was time to get out and explore possible remediation options to recover all or part of my lost deposit of ~$7,500. Avoid using Safe Ship, I got suckered. I should have been more diligent in my review of this company.
We truly regret to hear about your experience and the frustration you encountered during your move planning process. Your concerns have been noted and will be reviewed as we work to ensure a better experience for future customers.

Updated on 06/23/2025: I received a call from Safe Ship today and my review for them stands - veterans & others beware. The rep basically told me that it was my fault, I should have known they were only a broker. I didn't know that meant I needed to do full research on the companies they assigned to me. What was I paying them for if I had to do extensive research anyway? Didn't they vet & help me w/ any issues on the company they paired me with? He insisted their website clearly states that they only connect me w/ a carrier & they're done. I've been over it line by line, it does not. He said "well didn't you look at the contract". Yes I did. It doesn't say that once Safe Ship gets their money they are done either.
He asked me why I didn't contact them & told him I sent e-mails & voicemails for over a month. He asked me to send him info that info, maybe I contacted the wrong department. I called & e-mailed the people who called me every day when they wanted my money. Couldn't they have passed on the messages? I didn't know I needed to research the company protocols to get the right person. It took an honest review to get Safe Ship to call me so the rep could argue w/ me that I got it wrong so I would change my review.
As far as the carrier, they called this morning also & it was a great experience. I understand things happen & at least he was sympathetic & working towards a resolution. And to get the box I have to the people it belongs to. This was a great experience & I appreciate that he didn't make excuses & tell me it was my fault. I would deal w/ Star USA Moving again. I will not deal w/ Safe Ship & I will not refer them to anyone. If I would have had the time I would have done the research myself as I've done for the past 30 years. I had to help my elderly mother so I trusted Safe Ship because they are veteran owned. I will ask for a DD-214 next time or use my own network of vets. Expensive misunderstand but hey, their marketing is on point. I fell for it.
Original Review: Terrible experience - please use another company. I am a veteran & the widow of a veteran. Having done many moves stateside & abroad I’m very familiar with the process. I’ve seen the good, bad & the ugly. This company is the latter two. I usually do my due diligence however; I had to plan this quickly to help my 86-year-old mother. When they are trying to get your business, they are incredible. They are so nice, man they are lovey dovey. Once you sign, you’re pretty much on your own. An aggravation. The pack up was great. The delivery was to a storage facility because I’m helping my mother & staying at her house.
I met the movers at my storage facility. Excuse me, the mover. There was one person. He was very nice & respectful but he was by himself. He had to make a makeshift ramp because the truck didn’t have one. He didn’t have a dolly but that’s OK, I had one in my stuff. Had being the key word in that sentence. My dolly is MIA. So, he had to unload everything by hand down a makeshift ramp. I got busy removing the packing blankets and tape b/c I had other obligations & did not have six to eight hours for one person to do all that work.
I had to use a small screwdriver to try & remove it because he did not have a utility knife either. Stabbing tape with a screwdriver that is designed for eyeglass repair is not easy. I told him several times that I had marked my boxes the way they needed to go into the storage unit. Red tag in the back, I would not need to access these boxes. Yellow in the middle, I might need to get something from these. Green in the front, I needed to get to these boxes. I ran out of green sticky notes so I switched to blue. I reiterated many times the importance of this. I hired movers because I’m a little older now & have some health issues. Working in 90-degree heat for four hours like a grown man was not how I had envisioned this to go.
Oh, and still pay full price as if I had a team like I was promised who had the equipment to do the job. I reached out to “Safe Ship” and got zero response. Oh well let me try a couple of the other folks that were so helpful when I was inquiring about using their company. Crickets. E-mail or phone I have heard nothing. So, I’m out a dolly, I worked like a grown man unloading my stuff but still paid full price and the color system I had was ignored so I had to pay someone to rearrange my storage unit so I can access my things. I had to rent a dolly to move my washer & dryer to my mom’s house. I also have a box that doesn’t belong to me. I’m sure those folks would like their stuff but “Safe Ship” isn’t interested in anything after they get their money. Maybe the folks missing their stuff will see this & I can get it to them.
Targeting veterans & their widows is right up there w/ stolen valor in my book. This owner might be prior service but has no business using the name “veteran” owned. I don’t know what unit he/she was in but I know which ones they were not. The veterans I know would never do anything like this. I’m telling the vets I know who will pass it on to the ones they know & posting on social media platforms. Hopefully the word will get around and this company will be forced to stop stealing from people using the name “veteran” and have the profits from this scam that they deserve. They aren’t registered w/the BBB so can’t report them there.
Another red flag is they want cash or transfer on Zelle. This way the charges cannot be disputed. My guess is that Safe Ship is just the initiator of business - they do not vet the moving companies. They just match you up with someone who has signed up w/them. The first payment goes to Safe Ship & the other two you actually pay the carrier(s) so you have no idea who you are doing business with or if they are reputable or honest. So after that first payment Safe Ship pretty much removes themselves from anything to do w/you. Some people have things that money can’t replace; especially when some loved ones are no longer with us. Please go with a company that cares about you and your things. And if anyone knows of someone who lost a box with this company and can’t get any help please pass this on. I’ll be more than happy to get it to them.

The whole experience with going through Safe Ship was traumatic! I would be giving less than a two star if not for the delivery crew and driver. They were efficient, professional. However all the rest of the experience was awful. You call and go over your needs with a phone representative (this is a broker company). We were on phone for over two hours, going over what was to be moved AND I sent pictures. Then when we agreed and signed papers, it was all hell from there.
After agreeing to a price, and paying 50% down, we were then told the rest could only be paid to the pickup crew and delivery crew in cash or money order. They left off items on the inventory list and when I informed them that these items were discussed in the discussion, I was told there would be additional price. Then when the moving crew came to pickup, they added more expense. This crew were not very experienced, and communication was awful. They could not speak or understand English.
The company the SS brokered with Rigos Moving, were not helpful at all. When we got to our new home, the delivery crew were proficient, experienced, and professional. They placed each box and item where we requested. The next day when we began unpacking, we were in shock and mad. The "extra" boxes to pack was due to the way they packed. Several of the boxes had only three to four items and all packing paper. The plastic kitchen items were all individually wrapped with 5 sheets of packing paper. It goes on and on. I would not ever recommend this service. We moved in the past with a UHaul Rental and hired loaders to load and unload, and it was a whole lot less expensive and more efficient.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Safe Ship during my recent cross-state move. From start to finish, the customer service was abysmal. It was nearly impossible to get consistent information, and every time I called, I was given a different delivery estimate by a different person. No one seemed to know what was going on with my belongings.
The worst part was the complete lack of communication. We were told our items would arrive on a specific day, so we rearranged our schedule accordingly. We received little to no communication leading up to that day. Only after we followed up ourselves did someone finally call, after the promised delivery window had passed, to casually inform us that it would be another day. No apology, no urgency—just a vague promise that it would “probably” arrive tomorrow.
When you’re trusting a company with your entire home, this level of disorganization is unacceptable. The stress, inconvenience, and utter lack of professionalism turned what should’ve been a manageable move into a frustrating ordeal. I would strongly advise anyone considering this company to look elsewhere. There are plenty of moving services out there—don’t make the mistake we did by choosing this one.

Nothing, despite several follow up calls and several promised for the refund. Ridiculous. My car also showed up 4 days late.
As far as moving goes, I signed up for a quality assurance call to go over our items for moving and the guy not only didn’t call, but didn’t communicate either. It’s been 24 hrs, our move is supposed to be in either two or three days, and this call was supposed to be three days before the move. He’s conveniently out of the office today, btw. I was verbally told my move would happen on a Sunday. My movers came Monday at 7:30 pm and didn't leave until 11:30 pm. I was told that my $1000 expedited shipping would show up on a Thursday, and it showed up on a Saturday. It is technically in the 4 day window because Saturday isn't a business day. It's deceitful, shady tactics to get you to spend more. This review is written without knowing if I've even gotten my belongings without damage. The customer service has been worse than bad.

Very shady brokers. They don’t move anything. The exorbitant amount they charge upfront, is their fee, and not a move deposit, as I mistook when I signed their contract. The movers (101 Movers Corp) who arrived, were shadier, and immediately jacked up the price of the move, stating that the estimate did not include several things (a standard tactic as I discovered later).
Bottomline, my household goods are on the way, as of 10 days back, and “Safe Ship Moving” will not return back any calls, not work with the carrier they connected with, to give a delivery window. I have never worked with a shadier broker, and a shadier set of movers, despite having done several interstate moves over the years.

I called to request a quote for my move and had a highly unprofessional experience with a representative named Steve. From the beginning, he was condescending, dismissive, and more interested in talking about what he thinks he knows about my situation rather than what my moving needs actually are. He came across as extremely pushy, and when I attempted to set clear boundaries, he abruptly hung up on me. Moments later, he called back claiming he did more research for my situation and the cost would be a lot and that he wanted to make sure I could financially afford the move and that earlier a “communication disconnect” was between us.
When I informed him that I had found a more affordable option elsewhere, he again hung up without any professionalism or courtesy. The entire interaction felt manipulative, with exaggerated claims about offering the “best deal” and “lowest price,” which were clearly not true. Overall, this company comes across as aggressive, misleading, and lacking basic customer service standards. I would strongly caution others against doing business with them.

I reached out to them for an estimate on moving my 3 Bedroom Condo from Chicago to Indianapolis. The person who provided my estimate used my Zillow posting to give an estimate. Now I have never hired a moving company to move across state lines before so I'm not overly familiar with the process behind pricing so I was putting my faith in the gentleman who said he has been doing this for 15yrs. He looks at my posting and reviews it and tells me I should be quoted 600 cubic feet. Sounds good to me as I have no idea as to how much cubic feet of space I will need. I told him we had 5 TVs and a fair amount of boxes but his estimate on boxes sounded fair enough. He told me to name my price and I said 3500 to which he said, "I can do just shy of 3800."
The inventory specialist calls me to do a walk through 5 days later and tells me the roughly 3800 dollar estimate, which I paid 1750 down, is actually supposed to be just shy of 10k! Come to find out 600 cubic feet is your average one bedroom! The first guy only accounted for one TV and like half of my belongings. Now they are refusing a refund because it was after the 72hr window in which you could cancel and get refunded. Had I known it was going to be 10k sooner I would have cancelled then and there but of course the inventory guy doesn't reach out before the 3 day window and I'm out 1750! I do NOT recommend using these guys! God only knows what would have happened if they loaded my stuff. Maybe some more hidden charges that I'm seeing other people have encountered...

Safe Ship deceived us from the moment we began speaking to them. They subbed out our move to another company and never communicated with them about the things we spoke about. It was the WORST moving experience of my life. Everything was damaged and missing hardware or outright broken. We had a $28,000 claim and were offered $75. Lies.
Reviewed May 23, 2025
I recently used Safe Ship Moving to coordinate a long-distance move, and while some parts of the experience went smoothly, others left much to be desired. Safe Ship is a moving broker, not the actual moving company, and while that isn’t inherently a problem, it does require exceptional communication and transparency — which, unfortunately, was sorely lacking in my case.
1. Pick-Up Movers (Mason and Allen): Mason and Allen were fantastic — efficient, friendly, and professional. The only critique I have is that they didn’t provide a courtesy call before arrival, which would have been appreciated. Otherwise, no complaints.
2. Delivery Movers (Nurbek & Aznaur): I wasn’t personally present at delivery, but my brother reported that both movers were courteous, quick, and careful with my belongings. Again, excellent work on their part.
Negative Aspects:1. Poor Communication & Responsiveness: Once Safe Ship had my signature, communication became nearly impossible. I was routinely placed on hold for 30–45 minutes, and calls were never returned, even when I used their call-back system. The only time they were quick to reach out was when they needed documents signed.
2. Lack of Guidance During the Estimate: When I spoke to the sales rep, he asked only about large items — beds, couches, dressers, etc. No mention was made of pictures, ironing boards, golf clubs, hampers, or any oddly shaped items that don’t easily fit into boxes. These were not included in the original itemized estimate, and once the movers had loaded about 50% of my belongings, I got a call stating that I had exceeded the volume and the cost had gone up significantly. At that point, what choice do you have? Unload everything or agree to the new price? It feels like you’re being cornered. Yes, I take accountability for underestimating the number of items, but it’s also the job of the sales professional to guide first-time movers through this process and ask the right questions. They should know the commonly forgotten items and clarify what counts toward cubic footage.
The estimate included 20 medium-sized boxes. I decided to use a lot of small boxes for ease of movement. Turns out a box is an item regardless of the size. So 20 small boxes = 20 medium boxes. So when you have 40 boxes, it appears to be double the volume. My account manager stated their system could differentiate the difference. However, on the packing list, there is simply a line to indicate an item. No differentiation on what that line represents. That must be some good software if it can tell by the stroke of a pen that it is identifying a small box and not a medium box to appropriately account for cubic feet.
3. Inconsistent and Vague Timing Estimates: I was given several conflicting time frames for when I would be contacted for delivery — one person said 10–14 days, another said 48 hours, and someone else said 24 hours. The actual notice I got was: “The movers are busy tomorrow and they’re going to try to pick up your items, but we don’t know.” That’s not a timeline — that’s chaos. And I received no call at all the day of pick-up.
4. Unexpected Charges and Misleading Language: I was told I needed to have my TV in a box and my mattress in a sleeve, which I did. All my other belongings were properly boxed. Still, I was charged for packing and materials, even though I was explicitly told that bubble wrap, blankets, and shrink wrap would be “taken care of.” That phrase implies it is included — not another line-item fee.
Additionally, my estimate included 20 medium-sized boxes, but for ease of handling, I used mostly small boxes. What I learned is that to this company, a box is a box, regardless of size. So, 20 small boxes count the same as 20 medium boxes. When I ended up with 40 small boxes, it looked like I had double the inventory, even though the total volume was roughly the same. When I raised this concern, my account manager said their system could tell the difference. That’s hard to believe when the inventory form is just a handwritten sheet with a tally line per item — no indication of size or volume. If that software can determine the cubic feet from a simple stroke of a pen, it must be incredible software. In reality, it seems more like a system designed to favor the company and inflate volume-based charges without accountability.
5. Absurd “Long Carry” Fee: If the movers can’t get within 75 feet of your door, you are charged a long carry fee. This is ridiculous, especially when moving into apartments — long carries should be expected. Besides, they use 4-wheel dollies, not hand-carrying furniture. So the “long carry” mostly means rolling items an extra 50 feet.
6. Shuttle Fee Intimidation: I was told that if the 18-wheeler couldn’t get near my building, I’d need a $300 shuttle — which quickly turned into a $700 quote, plus the threat of a long carry fee. During this conversation, my account manager literally said, “We don’t like driving downtown.” I’m sorry, but if you’re in the business of moving, that’s part of the job. Fortunately, I spoke with the driver directly, and we discussed access. He easily backed the 18-wheeler up to a side entrance next to the elevator. So not only was the shuttle unnecessary, but the stress it caused was entirely avoidable. Safe Ship used that fee as a scare tactic, and it was unwarranted.
7. Liability and Insurance Practices: After my belongings were loaded, I was asked to sign a release of liability form, choosing between the default $0.60 per pound coverage or paying thousands of dollars for upgraded insurance. This was the first time I was told about this, and by then, the truck was loaded. It felt like extortion. I should have been presented with insurance options before move day, not forced to make a financial decision under pressure. And let’s be clear — $0.60 per pound is meaningless. If a 10-pound item worth $1,000 breaks, I’d get $6 in reimbursement.
8. No Post-Move Follow-Up: Once the shuttle conversation was over, I never heard from Safe Ship again. No one followed up to ask how the move went or to close the loop. Meanwhile, Express Van Lines (the actual movers, I believe) delivered the items professionally. A few small items were scuffed, but nothing worth making a claim over, especially given how useless the insurance is.
Final Thoughts: The movers themselves were excellent — both at pick-up and delivery. My issue lies squarely with Safe Ship Moving, the broker. Their communication was inconsistent, their pricing lacked transparency, and they used pressure tactics at several points during the move. For a first-time customer, the experience was stressful and often misleading. I would not use them again and would urge others to ask very specific questions, get everything in writing, and consider working directly with a moving company instead of a broker.

I am completely beyond frustrated. It has been 37 days since I stuff was picked up in Mississippi. It was supposed to take no more than 12/15 business days to bring it to Colorado. First no one at Safe Ship returns calls, or they put you on hold and never come back on the line. If I can finally get ahold of someone, they keep telling me you will have your stuff next week. I have left Gianna G. 2 unanswered voicemails. I got in contact with the moving company last Friday No Borders Moving and Storage and was told my things were in Texas and that I would have them this week.
Today when I called, I was told my things were sitting in a storage facility in Jersey Village Texas. Now they claim not to have a truck to bring my things and no estimate on when they will. Oh, but he wanted to reassure me that if it goes beyond 30 days, I will get a very minimal compensation. At this point I have contacted the police. I just want my stuff. I never do reviews but when you have no communication with your customers what are we supposed to do. This matter can be solved by getting my stuff to me. I trusted this company. They sure did answer the phone when they were collecting my money.

There isn't enough space for me to write all of the horrible issues we had with this company for our out of state move. Don't fall for the family owned/veteran owned ploy. The service you will receive is horrible, the worst experience I've ever had. Your salesperson will tell you how wonderful they are, and that their customer service is the best, and give you their number too, in case you need them. Customer service will put you on terminal hold or disconnect the call after placing you on hold, when you call to find out anything (I've lost count of how many times this has happened) and your salesperson will never answer the phone or return your call again.
I should also add that their prices are high and then on top of that, they increase them at the QA call done before pick up, by thousands of dollars. At that point, your into the process neck deep. Our furniture has been loaded and unloaded at least six times, and we still don't have it. It arrived a week early, before we closed on our home. They then put us in storage due to this being their mistake. And now, we can't seem to get anyone to deliver. A driver did call yesterday saying they will be there that day, but they don't know where they stored us, and then the driver never showed. Later that evening, he texted me that the company was sending another driver for the next day. We heard from no one. There were no follow up calls or calls letting us know when someone was coming, as they tell you there will be.
Bear in mind, this is a trucking firm Safe Ship brokers with and then that trucking company contracts local laborers. Safe Ship will do absolutely nothing to help resolve issues. Multiple phone calls go unanswered, promise dates come and go, and you are left standing alone wondering what the ** happened, and still - no furniture, no call back... 22 days after our furniture was picked up we received a delivery. It arrived in a UHaul truck with a husband, wife and 14 year old daughter to do all the unloading of the heavy furniture. There are many more ugly details to this story, but I'll just leave you with this - BEWARE!! If you value your possessions, time, money and energy at all, I would highly suggest you select a different interstate moving company. Check BBB - you'll find this experience has a common theme.

Words cannot express my disappointment and agitation your company has given me over the past weeks. April 25, the dispatcher called with a time of arrival to my SLC (Salt Lake City) address to be between 10-2pm that day. At 10:30, I received a call with the news that the driver pulled over and was sick and that a new driver or team would have to be called in their place. They NEVER called me back that day. I had to call that evening to reschedule for the next day. However, the next day I had a wedding to attend. A team of people came to the address 1635 Yalecrest as planned. They had all the goods in their truck by 1pm. Then, they waited in my driveway for TWO hours to get the receipt from their HQ that never arrived! During this mess, Ilia, the dispatch guy, promised me a discount for all the confusion. I had to get your crew off the property to get ready for the wedding and attend it.
Here we are on April 30th. I have no receipt, I have no discount, I don’t know if your company has sold off my property or what?… April 30th, Sally ** put me on hold so long, my call went to her voicemail. A duplication of the unnerving treatment I have been received the whole time. I continued phoning all the numbers I had many times a day.
On Friday, May 2nd, I was finally given a receipt. On Monday, May 12th, I again called customer service and again, after waiting for someone to pick up for what felt like forever, I actually spoke with a human being that asked me what was the window of drop off I gave. Much to my surprise, I replied, “no one has ever asked me that question as of yet! What is this question?” :( I was told that Thursday or Friday my property would be delivered. Today, Wednesday May 14th, Maricio called to schedule the drop off. I asked Maricio if my discount is shown on the bill and he laughed. HE LAUGHED!!! Then asked me, “do you really think you’re going to get a discount?”
In my entire life I have never worked with such an unreliable company, giving such an unpleasant experience with a “TRUSTED PARTNER”, “VETERAN RUN” outfit! BULL. You and your third party out of state “partners” are NOT veterans and cannot be trusted. Now, on top of all the grief your trusted partners have given me, something arrives BROKEN. After weeks of trying to get in touch with Safe Ship or Ciao Bella (the actual movers), we submitted a claim document where we stated the situation, in detail, and our lost items. They informed me that I had more than what was originally quoted for. I had to pay an additional $600.

I am in awe of the stellar reviews but in agreement with the bad reviews. I agree with the bait and switch...given one price that drastically changes right before move. I was initially told one price and that I had plenty of room to add so much more. Then week before move when I reviewed inventory it went up 3,000.00 (double the original price) and I had to decide while on the phone how much I wanted to get rid of to bring the price down. I tried to explain I would need time, at least a few hours, to unpack stuff and and repack. Nope, he didn't have time and wanted an answer now...I felt like I was dealing with a pushy car salesman who could have cared less about the original price given and the statement that I had so much more room.
I originally wanted to take mostly outdoor furniture, no washer/dryer, no stove/refrigerator, no dressers ...I ended up only taking a small fire pit out of all the original outdoor items I originally reported I wanted to take. The crew that came to fetch my things did a good job preparing my furnishings to move but I was told it would be shipped to a warehouse and loaded onto a semi to be shipped across the country to me. When I did get my things it arrived on an extended van and some of my plastic bins were beat up to a point that just needed thrown out. 2 floor lamps were non usable and broken.
I had Correlle dishes that were broke and some other glass items. It looked like my items had been badly manhandled and tossed around. I'm not sure how many times my things were loaded and unloaded and shoved/thrown onto trucks before it reached me. I had written on my containers Delicate or Glass but it was not read or they could not read it maybe. Although the handlers were nice enough they spoke limited English so maybe they could not read it??? I packed with paper and bubble wrap and padded my delicate things as well. No, I would not recommend this company. I was charged more than original price and got to take so much less than planned and then lost items to damage along the way

My job was discussing transferring me, but it wasn't set in stone yet and I wanted to prepare. The woman on the phone said I would need to put a deposit down at the time to lock in the winter rate for the move, which would be much cheaper. She then assured me that the deposit was refundable after I asked multiple times. My transfer ended up being cancelled, and when I called to cancel they told me the deposit was nonrefundable but that they would "Review the call." I was told that the call had been reviewed and that was not what the woman said, and when I asked to hear the call I was told they could not share it with me. This is absolutely disgusting. The deposit was roughly $1,500. For a company that prides itself on its values -- this speaks a LOT about what those values really are.

Updated on 05/09/2025: After posting several complaints about moving broker Safe Ship and Only 1 Movers, they contacted me and offered me $800 to remove my negative reviews and give them a 5-star remove. Basically they want to pay me to lie. I would be VERY wary of any positive reviews about these companies. They will rob you!
Original review: DO NOT EVER USE SAFE SHIP MOVING SERVICES! THEY ARE A SCAM! I will note that Safe Ship contracts out different movers - I was assigned "Only 1 Moving"- I'm not sure if my problems lie within Safe Ship Moving or Only 1 Moving. I moved my 600 sq foot OPEN ONE BEDROOM apartment from Seattle to Denver. I paid to have them pack up and move my stuff - I was originally told this would cost $4398.44. Later I decided to add "expedited shipping," which guaranteed delivery within 5 business days - otherwise they said they would deliver within a 10-business day window and I did not want to be in a hotel for 2 weeks. This added an additional $1329 to my total ($1.50 per mile), for a total of $5727.
The movers showed up (again, they give you a 2-day pick up window; of course, you can pay extra to be given an exact day). They showed up - one person, "Brian," barely spoke English (the other two movers spoke none). After they packed all of my stuff on the truck, I was told I'd have to pay an additional $4012 because I had "more square footage of stuff." Mind you, he didn't have any way of measuring this, and he came up with multiple previous figures with his rudimentary math skills. I protested paying this and was told that my stuff was on the truck already.
I paid (in hindsight I would not). When the movers arrived, again, no one speaking English (also they all had very bad body odor), I was again told that in order to get my stuff offloaded on the truck I would need to pay an additional $1000. All in all I paid OVER $9,000 to move my small apartment. Had I known, I never would have went with Safe Ship and Only 1 Movers - my stuff isn't even worth that much. DO NOT EVER DO SERVICE WITH THESE COMPANIES!

On 12/24, I received a phone call from a person (I have his name) there informing me he was increasing my contracted rate by $6700.00. When I asked why, he said he had reviewed my belongings on....get this....Zillow; which is a real estate website and he stated I had more items than listed. A photo video was done at the time of the contract signing and I was furnished the list. I said that was ridiculous, because I had gotten rid of items.
I signed a Binding Moving Estimate for a lot of money, then to be told they were increasing it by $6700.00. I refused to pay the additional charges; which were bogus, and was told I'd have to pay so much on pick up and the balance before they would unload. I refused and I was told they wouldn't unload my belongings until paid in full. I signed a Binding Moving Estimate and a partial definition of the Binding Moving Estimate reads as follows: "A binding estimate guarantees that you cannot be required to pay more than the amount on the estimate at the time of delivery." The description is very detailed in length.
When I refused to pay more than the contract, I was told, "Take us to court, we have a department for that." I hung up and called an attorney and was told to contact the credit card company immediately and file a dispute; which I did. The attorney said for him to file a civil case, his retainer started at $10,000.00; therefore he said to contact the credit card company. The card company has disputed this claim several times because the moving company, they said I canceled their service after 72 hours of signing the contract. I never canceled the contract, I refused to pay an additional $6700.00 on top $21,341.42 as the signed contract quoted. Absolutely terrible experience. I was given 24 hours advanced notice that the movers were coming as expected. A few hours after the notification, I get a call from the carrier saying he was going to arrive in an hour... what?! Luckily, I was mostly ready to go, but they really pushed me to do it right away instead of the next day as planned. I tried calling Safe Ship to verify this was the correct truck because it was a different carrier than I was told would be there the following day. 20 minutes later, I get on the phone with someone who promises to get an update and call me back in five minutes. Never heard from her. I call back again, and 20 minutes later, I'm disconnected. I call back a third time, and twenty minutes later, I'm finally connected with someone who verifies it's the correct truck. An absolute mess in the middle of a work day.
I was told things would ship in 2-12 business days. I called on the 12th day asking for an update, and suddenly, it was "Well, it's 2-12 BUSINESS days." I was never told that. I called back on the 12th business day asking for an update, and they said, "Oh, well it's 2-12 business days from the date you said you could first receive." When the carrier picked up my stuff, he add asked when I ideally would like to receive. I told him Saturday (five days later) would be ideal, but told him I could arrange for sooner. Apparently, the 2-12 business days then started from that Saturday. No one EVER told me this.
I also asked the mover to share the total cost of the move. But he only gave me the total cost from the carriers, not including what Safe Ship charged me. I didn't know this at the time but figured it out later when I received and the numbers weren't adding up. I think I was charged almost $2k MORE than what was quoted. And the second carrier couldn't tell me the total numbers either - he said I had to ask Safe Ship.
Then, when my stuff arrived, I was charged $500 extra by the carrier because I'm on the third floor. I told Safe Ship I was on the third floor multiple times. The carrier's boss YELLED at me, told me to call Safe Ship and that the charge wasn't his problem, and even said that he never wanted to work with them again because they were impossible to get ahold of and terrible to work with. I feel so dumb, swindled, and over-charged. I would never have moved my stuff if I had known the move would cost this much and take this long. I would have given things away/sold stuff. The value of my things was not nearly as much as the move.

Red warning. Only choose if you want to be cheated. They quoted me 2000 for a move, then 2 days before the date when there is no option to back out bumped it to 2500, in actuality charged 3600, amazing.

Because of a military career and then a civilian job that involved moving, I have moved a lot in my life. Safe Move was the worst and the most expensive by far. They are just middlemen who jack up the price. Their claim that they take care of veterans is a complete joke. To start, they did the estimate by phone (don’t be stupid like me, NEVER do a phone quote). They told me the estimate would go down if I got rid of some heavy furniture and appliances. They called for a second phone ‘walk-through’ of the house; I told them I got rid of the furniture and appliances, but instead of lowering the estimate, they jacked it up an additional $7000!!! Every other moving company I have used had a policy that their estimate could go down, but never up (unless I added things). At this point, it was too late to switch movers. I thought it couldn’t get any worse, but I was wrong.
The day of packing went fairly well, although I would later learn they packed delicate electronics and an antique clock haphazardly in with books and other heavy items (they were all damaged or completely broken). They also tried to upsell me again. The bigger issues came at delivery. They took one day to pack and load, two days to unload, and never finished reassembling things. They hired two temp day laborers who didn’t know what they were doing. They scratched and gouged my furniture, walls, and door frames. They broke my office chair beyond repair and my desk drawer. They put my 2 beds together upside down, which significantly damaged one bed (I argued with them and they later put them together right side up, but the damage was done).
Many other things were also damaged, more than all my past moves combined, including damage to a very old, family heirloom. And they were in such a hurry, they left some of their quilted blankets behind (still wrapped around furniture). Also, a red flag that they managed to keep themselves off of Google reviews. See the pics (they are only a sample).

I am going to the attorney general next. No return phone calls. On hold for astronomical amount of times. Of course when they are taking your money? They can't call you back fast enough. Do not use them.

Initial communication was exactly what I had expected based on earlier conversations about what to expect. The pre-moving inventory was thorough and everything was communicated clearly. Things weren’t as ideal once the designated moving days got closer; I had expected the 24-hour notice that I was assured I would receive but I ended up getting a 16-hour notice. That might not be a big deal for some but it is for me and it caused some issues with other services I had lined up for my move. The timeframe I was given wasn’t clear and based on what I was told, I expected the truck to arrive at the time specified.
With that being said, once the movers arrived, I was really happy with everything. Nick and Kyryl went room by room to make sure everything that needed to go was talked about. They wrapped everything, kept a detailed inventory, and made sure I had all the information I asked for. Nick was great to work with. Both gentlemen were polite, professional, and friendly. Moving is overwhelming but I am very satisfied with the experience I had with Nick and Kyryl.

While my initial experience was frustrating due to unexpected last-minute fees and unhelpful customer service, I was very pleased with the follow-up I received from their dedicated moving partner, Rigo Moving Company.
Rigo Moving Company reached out to me directly to discuss my concerns, genuinely listened to my experience regarding the fees and poor service, and offered a sincere apology. They took responsibility for the problems and compensated me with a significant refund, which was paid out the same day.

Do NOT be fooled by any positive reviews you might see advertised for Safe Ship Moving Services. Yelp and the Better Business Bureau reveal an overall 1-star rating with over 500 lawsuits citing fraudulent and damaging practices. What started with decent service during the quote process quickly turned into a terrifying ordeal. It was a stressful and financially draining nightmare marked by significant unexpected price increases, hidden fees, unlicensed movers, and threats.
While Safe Ship discloses that they operate as a broker, they guarantee their brokers are certified and licensed. The movers who arrived in Chicago were not licensed. When I confronted them about this, they fabricated a ridiculous excuse, claiming the truck was too large to be driven into Chicago. When I called this out, they threatened to dump all of my furniture on the side of the road, in the middle of a snowstorm, unless I paid for a U-Haul for their illegal operation – an unexpected increase of almost $1000 on my final bill. It felt like a blatant act of coercion and potential endangerment.
Furthermore, despite claiming they "take care of everything," Safe Ship completely failed to disclose their packaging fees. Be warned: they will charge you extra to wrap essential furniture items like your sofa and even a simple coffee table. The initial quote I received ballooned due to the U-Haul fiasco and hidden packaging expenses. This bait-and-switch tactic seems to be common practice for them based on reviews.
While they were initially polite and accommodating, once my furniture was picked up, their attitude and level of service went completely out the window. The representatives I spoke with were rude and acted as if I were a complete bother. They lure you in with deceptive pricing and service only to deliver a disastrous, costly, and potentially dangerous moving experience. STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM SAFE SHIP!

This has been the worst experience of our lives! The entire process was riddled with issues from the very start to the 2nd delivery day. It all started with Bernard their CS rep. He reeled me in, hook, line and sinker. Stating they have a 9.9 rating and that they give veteran discounts. We chose Safe Ship because they veteran-owned and -operated company. I thought WHY would they screw veterans over. However, my experience was NOT anywhere near a 9.9 rating. I gave them my inventory over the phone on 1/23. Being as thorough as I could. I thought the original quote was not bad for a 1343 sq foot, 1 floor, 2 bedroom, 2 bath apt. moving an hour and few minutes away. No fridge, no stove, or dishwasher. Only washer, and dryer.
5 days before move date I got a call to confirm inventory. They said CF increased due to missed items, increasing our move $7,872.30 more! Now, we are retired. $13, 899.85 is not just sitting in our sock drawer. I consulted my husband. He said this late in the game do it. We had purchased a home and signed on Wednesday scheduled our move date the following Monday & Tuesday. Come Monday morning Asher Movers came through do to inspection of items moving saying that there was more CF and it was gonna cost MORE $$$ and take 2 days to deliver. I had a total ANXIETY MELTDOWN. Asher Movers called his boss who said just do it and no charge extra. Which I was thankful however.. they did not do almost $14,000 worth of quality work.
There was not enough boxes so they used some of our boxes & WHATEVER they could put items into including my washing machine. They packed boxes so heavy that my 73 year old husband had difficulty lifting. They shoved packing paper into dresser and night stands and tipped them upside down to tape drawers shut.. 🤦♀️They packed my husbands screw/nut organizer upside down. 😤 They nicked my handmade coffee table on all 4 sides. 😢 Packed lamps in a box and piled stuff of top and broke the top of the lamp. Plastic pieces to our storage rack we found in driveway after they had left. Broke the handle on my hamper. Broke nozzle off hairspray. Dented kitchen trash can. Wrapped bucket with packing tape so tight it cracked bucket. Put clothes that were on hangers in our closet into deep boxes, broke the hangers and packed things on top of clothes. Boxes were marked one thing and multiple rooms packed on top.
On Day 1 they requested Panda Express for lunch 4 of them it was $70. 😲 He said if they left to get lunch they would be gone a couple hours putting move & packing behind. They left random things out of EVERY room unpacked... why? When they left with the first load they felt comfortable enough to take several bottles of water with them. They left half emptied water bottles, and Gatorade bottles all over our garage. We are missing metal shelf pegs for our shelves.
Most companies who do a service in your home use booties, some sort of shoe covering, or lay down floor paper to cover carpet. This moving company however did not. So they tracked their dirty boots right through my house on new carpet. The movers themselves were unprofessional in my eyes. Made everything much more stressful. AND for almost $14,000 it should've been TOP NOTCH. Do better SAFE SHIP!!!! This has been an absolute nightmare. If you value your time, money, and belongings, do NOT hire this company. You will regret it.

I have it documented in an email that I would be fully refunded. They are now sending me in circles, telling me that it's been too long for a refund and they won't let me speak to Caleb or pull my call with him. It was a $1,700 deposit! Then week later you have to go through the house with video and they say the price again that was 6,000 higher. How does it go up $6000 when you listed everything they later video. I asked for my deposit back and they said it Is past 72 hours and can’t give refund. After an hour of intense conversation they lowered it 5,000. So still 1,000 higher. Then at the delivery site they asked for more money to go up to 3rd floor when that was already known. I have moved several times and this was the worse move ever. They constantly try to up the price. I will never use them again. Shame on Angie for recommending them. That site is supposed to let us know the good companies.

Do not trust this company with your moving needs. We used their packing, delivery, and auto services for a tri-state move. They charge you double what the move is worth, and they promise white glove service, customer satisfaction, cost transparency, and quality assurance. They do not deliver on any of their promises and the customer service is horrific once they receive your initial downpayment.
You are better off doing your own research and finding a moving service that fits your needs/budget. My family is now out thousands of dollars in broken, stolen and/or lost items and SafeShip rids their hands of quality assurance from day one so there is no way to reclaim your losses. They also promise a "timely move" and our experience was delayed, then late/cancelled, and somehow costs increased to get movers to show up to our home after they were already scheduled to do the work (and did NOT show up) the day prior. This was the worst experience we have ever encountered from a company.

FRUSTRATION, INCOMPETENCE AND NO ACCOUNTABILITY! If I could score Safe Ship a negative number, I would. Using Safe Ship with my last move (I have had many moves, including an overseas move) was nothing short of horrible and extremely frustrating. Not only did the people who showed up at my previous residence damage walls and flooring materials - which they shabbily tried to repair, they failed miserably in protecting my furnishings from damage during travel. Additionally, I got to go around and pick up cigarette butts, that belonged to one of the movers, after they left, from my previous residence front yard. That was a fun waste of my time. When my belongings arrived at my new residence there were so many damaged items, I lost count.
Additionally, they basically extorted additional funds from me, as the individual who drove the semi out to my new location was not confident in his skills and required a shuttle service to deliver my goods - at my expense, of course. I'm not a semi driver but my brother is, and I sent him a video of my road, driveway, and other assorted potential obstacles, and otherwise. He said, "you don't have a trucker, sis, you have a steering wheel holder." So, multiple U-Haul deliveries later - where I might add my items appeared to be literally thrown into the back, and thousands of dollars poorer, I have my broken and damaged items.
Oh, let's not forget the mover who placed the incorrect legs on the wrong sofa and forced them so badly the legs are now cross threaded and I will need to have them cut off and replaced. I can then put the proper legs on the sofa they actually belong to (I have a sectional and a love seat, he put the sectional legs on the love seats...I guess matching 6 legs vs. 4 legs was too much work). I promise you, if you aren't able to have several friends or family members over to watch every step with these movers, and manage every item, don't do it. Your items will be broken and ruined and so will your patience. The only things that weren't damaged were things I packed myself. Save yourself and run for the hills before you hire this company!! ZERO STAR RATING!!!

We hired Safe Ship Moving services because it's veteran owned and that's important to me because my husband is also a veteran. We were moving from North Houston area in Texas to Fayetteville NC. We bought the top tier package which included having them pack up our small 2/2 house. We had packed up the majority of our stuff leaving then just the kitchen area. We had separated the items we needed to drive to NC with our service dog. 1st off 2 out of 3 guys didn't speak or understand English! The guy who did speak English was loading up the detached garage far from the other 2 men who didn't. We told them to not pack a couple of bags because it was coming with us..After they finished the kitchen we realized that they had packed the dog's food and meds that we needed for the trip there. So, we had to spend an extra 100 bucks for their mistakes 😕.
Also, we were told that the truck would be arriving between 6am to 9am, giving us plenty of time like 4 hours to clean prior to the complex doing a walk through and getting on the road by 4pm. They showed up at 2pm... After packing up and loading up they left around 5pm. Only giving us 30 mins to clean up including the mess they left prior to having the complex inspection. Because they were so late it cost us another $250!!
When the truck arrived at the new house and we started to unload boxes from the kitchen a few days later. It was a complete nightmare because those idiots packed my kitchen spices with cleaning supplies.. So everything had to be thrown away. I'm not talking about salt and pepper kind of spices either I'm talking about various teas, spices and medicinal items from around the world that one can't just pick up at your local grocery store. Hundreds of dollars and 20 years worth of time collecting these things just thrown out for their complete disregard of our stuff.
It's been a few weeks and we can't even locate the kitchen utensils and what not. I can only imagine that they mixed up our stuff with someone else so we'll have to spend more money to replace. I spoke with a customer service lady about it and she was so rude and unprofessional that I hung up on her. DON'T USE THESE IDIOTS

Joel's attitude immediately changed due to not being able to take advantage of a young, inexperienced female. Please don’t let Safe Ship Moving Services false advertising fool you. This company aren’t rated among the best, if anything they should be on the worse list highlighted in red. Their initial quote becomes more expensive throughout the pickup and delivery process. They aren’t a moving company; they are a broker that subcontract to other moving companies with bad services to include reputation.
The company that they connected me with was not qualified or professional carrier “No Boarder Moving and Storage”. The day when they arrived, they were late and didn’t start packing until noon. A one-day pickup turnout to be two days due to their lack of experience, not being prepared to complete the packing because of not having enough boxes, i.e., excuses. They had to purchased additional boxes from Home Depot the next day.
What is odd is Safe Ship Moving Services aren’t responsible for any damages during pickup or delivery which I find odd. Safe Ship will play the good company role in the beginning with continues texting. Once the pickup transaction is done, they will not do anything to assist you with the claims process. We found many items broken and damaged upon delivery. We completed the claims application and neither company provided a resolution to compensate us for damages. Safe Ship Moving stated ‘it is on the moving company that they hired. However, I didn’t do business with the subcontractor they did. Apparently, this method is working for both parties to avoid paying for damages.
One thing for sure this company will eventually get what they deserve. It’s just a matter of time before their bad business practice and greed catches up with them. No bad deeds go undone with this type of recourse. I will write the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to see if they can assist with my complaint. Both companies maybe legit on paper, but their actions demonstrate otherwise.
Safe Ship Moving Services motto should read Con is our mission to take full advantage of customers who rely on phony ownership. The reality of this company is family and veteran owned long-distance moving company. The military instilled honesty, dependability, integrity, the characteristic of never knowingly doing someone wrong, that you would never put greed before honor. Character is a sort of an all-inclusive thing. BLUF: If a company can stand behind its name and have integrity, customers may feel valued and not robbed. No Boarder Moving and Safe Ship Moving Services has no intentions of doing what is right. I have attempted several times to contact both parties, with no success to receive a claims compensation.
Apparently, I am not the first or last customer who experienced this trend of poor business practices with Safe Ship Moving Services and No Boarder Moving and Storage. If you valued your household goods- high quality items don’t take a chance. The moving crew is a conversation all by itself. When the movers arrived, they looked clueless and had no organizational structure on how they were going to start. The workers were unprofessional and found it difficult to understand English. They were going through the motion with insignificant effort to protect my German Shrunk set. If you don’t want to get scrammed, please avoid this company at all cost and risk. What an expensive lesson, and having all my other moves done by the military this was by far the worse.

I am writing this negative review because of the experience I encountered with first class movers. At first I was in a sense forced/pushed to write a good review at the time of pickup (December 2024 - Sammamish, WA.) and when my things were delivered to (January 2025 - San Diego, CA.), some of my items were completely destroyed, damaged by placing heavy items on top of my brand new desk I bought months ago. My printer cart wood was split in half and I can’t just purchase the printer cart alone, a desk comes with it and the cost was around $500.00 (Amazon price) for the set. They also damaged my lamp base (Amazon price $60.00), picture frame broke ($15.00), 10 quartz install cover handle was smashed/cracked ($150.00), 32 shoes, wooden shoe rack (Amazon price $120.00).
Now after I put a claim into CSI and them reviewing the damages via photos, accessing the cost of the damages (in January 2025), I now finally received my results and what the company is willing to pay me back in damages, incidentals, and mentally stress…..they are only willing to pay $100.00 for my claim. Please see photos of the damages they did to my personal things after paying this company over $10,000.00 in hopes I can trust them but that is clear, I should have NEVER trusted them!!

Our previous review was forced (Tariq from EZMovers asked multiple times for the screenshot of the review on the day of pick up and we felt forced to provide a good review as all of our possessions are in his hands), so we wanted to provide our HONEST review now. We were very excited to work with SafeShip company after seeing the high ratings and that you were a family- and veteran-owned and operated company. During the estimate, we were pressured to provide an inventory on the spot. we were told a deposit must be made immediately or else we would risk losing the "discount" we were being given. We requested time to think it over and were denied.
We agreed to the estimate due to the compressed timeline we were working under which cost us $4100 deposit. During a confirmation call of to recount the inventory - the cost of the move would be nearly double what we were originally quoted, despite the previous painstaking inventory — and had to pay another $4k that very day due to the higher cost. Keep in mind at this point in the process, we had already spent a significant sum and felt pressured to go through with the process. We would not have proceeded with this company if this was the initial price we were quoted. Unfortunately, we had already made massive deposits (nearly $8500 at this point) and felt we had no choice but to move forward.
We were told during our initial conversations that a credit card would be accepted at any point prior to the delivery drop-off. Any cash payments could be made when the job was completed. (Call transcripts between myself and Zach ** will back this up.) This is how virtually all moving companies operate. Yet on the day of pick up, the movers would only take cash, Zelle, Cash App, or some sort of check from the post office (not even a certified check as we found out later). This, as you can imagine, was VERY disappointing because we were holding our cash for the day of delivery as we had been previously advised. The mover also added additional costs for having to pack some of our items and for clearance issues regarding the inability to stack certain things.
At this point - our original estimate of $10,000 had gone up to $19,000+. At this point, I called SafeShip to find some sort of remedy for this financial hiccup because we were not going to be able to cover what was being asked. As a result - we were informed that there was nothing you could do. I was absolutely blown away with the lack of assistance that SafeShip OR EZ Movers had to help us. We were also told we would receive an email of our inventory list and contract - and we have not received it to this day which causes us MAJOR concern as it could be altered on their end without our consent.
Our new home is located on a hill side, and as such it has steeper roads. We were never asked about this during the estimate/confirmation calls regarding our move — we were under the impression that a highly reviewed moving company like yours would have experience with all types of moves and would have asked us all the relevant questions before agreeing to this move. So on the day of drop off, We were told our things would not be delivered unless we agreed to an undisclosed additional fee for the hassle of making it to our property! (Access to our street is not an issue). Tariq and the movers on site became very rude and attempted to guilt trip us on the inconvenience.
EZMovers only accepted Cash based payments so we had to scrounge ALL day to make it happen. Zelle, CashApp, and many of these platforms have daily withdrawal limits that are unable to be altered. I was hoping they would be able to work with us and accept a certified check from a bank (no!), a direct wire (they were VERY adamant that NO WIRES could ever be accepted, which raised alarm bells for us), a personal check, or credit card. These methods were all vehemently rejected. The CashApp app also would not proceed with the transaction as it was consistently flagged as a security risk. During these conversations, Tariq was very threatening and rude. He made it clear they would hold our items hostage if we did not pay THAT DAY, though they offered no solutions to assist us with a solution.
I cannot overstate the hostile environment that EZ Movers created that day. The onsite movers harassed us all day about the status of the payment. I at one point had to lock myself in the bathroom to avoid a confrontation about the payment. The movers also made several disparaging comments about our home, our location, our belongings, etc. Beyond all this, we were also told in the beginning that our items would be cared for, would be professionally staged, and put exactly where they need to go. Unfortunately this is NOT what happened. Our items were stacked carelessly, no furniture was assembled, trash was left everywhere. Horrible experience.

Safe Ship made my decision very easy to use their services. I was anxious about using them because they required a deposit when you book, but all of the follow up the customer service agents have with you is so reassuring. The team they also chose to pack and load our things were absolutely amazing. They were friendly and understanding, and most importantly were so careful with all of our belongings. Will definitely recommend/use them for the future.

The guys were great! Christian and Manuel were very personable and friendly. The other young man didn't speak English but worked hard, as well. They were all very fast and seemingly read each other's minds as they worked together!! Great team‼️ The only thing that I didn't count on was that they left with my key fob but I was able to get it replaced shortly after I discovered it missing.

Mr. William ** of Safe Ship Moving Services pulled the whole bait and switch routine. Safe ship implies that they are a moving company, takes a deposit for your move. However, the deposit is actually a "broker fee" which is never told to you. By the way, Mr. ** is not a licensed broker in the state of Florida either, so he should not even be collecting a broker fee. Then, when the movers come, they conveniently find ways to add additional fees (about as much as the broker fee).

VDMD Van Lines packed and loaded all our items for our move. They were on time, careful, professional and friendly. They worked quickly. The two men worked hard. They padded all our furniture well. I recommend them to anyone who needs their services. Our belongings will now go into storage for a month and I am confident that they will also deliver with care.

I was first quoted 3K for a 7-mile move of a 2-bedroom apt. After I signed up, my quote went up to 4.5K. I emailed my rep, which is how they operate, and asked to make edits to my quote, as I was going to move more items myself. I did this 3 DAYS before my move, and never got a follow-up. They called my move Long Distance (7 miles), I was hit w/ 110.00 extra for TV's (which I had asked to be removed a week prior), the actual movers (contracted party) charged me 285.00 extra for fuel (7 miles). Nickled and Dimed, wouldn't help me on the front end or the back end to make it right. I tried to call after the move and the "manager" read from a script. No help. Finally said she would need to get the paperwork from the movers before she could help me further. NEVER CALLED! Don't use. You will be WAY overcharged.

This was the most costly move of my life. And the movers we got set up with, no borders moving and storage, were not professional at all. They left whole cupboards unpacked when we had full packing service. I found out two days later. They were supposed to load an offsite storage unit and had no idea so it didn’t get done. Things were packed haphazardly. Broken glass items and a shelving unit. 2 boxes were packed with trash from the movers. It was horrible. If you check reviews on the BBB website you’ll see others had the same experience. Tried to contact Safe ship and it goes to voicemail and call is never returned.

Avoid and find local movers who won't pressure you into a contract that doesn't accurately reflect verbal agreed upon terms. Additionally-even when no actual moving has taken place they keep your deposit if not cancelled in 3 days of contract. Completely disgusting customer service.

Safe Ship helped me with my move today. They were extremely professional and accommodating of my various furniture and boxes, even resealing or further securing some things that I missed. They inventoried everything meticulously, and put in the time to make sure everything was wrapped and cushioned appropriately. Despite this, they still packed everything up efficiently and in a timely manner.

I'm happy with the gentleman who came here and picked up my furniture. But when I first got to company I got one price and then it was changed and went up to another price. Another seven or eight hundred dollars more than I was supposed to pay because the first person didn't take the right information, the first time I'm not happy with that at all.

I had a very disappointing experience with Safe Ship Moving. After filling out their online form, I was immediately contacted by a representative who asked me the exact same questions I had already answered. This process repeated again when they transferred me to another representative, who once more asked the same questions visible on their screen—yet never provided me with a quote. To make matters worse, the representatives I spoke with were unprofessional and displayed a hostile attitude throughout the conversation. Their lack of efficiency, poor communication, and rude demeanor left me frustrated and unimpressed. I strongly advise against using Safe Ship Moving until they realize that customers have plenty of other options and that professionalism and basic customer service are not optional—they're essential.

Safe Ship movers have great salespeople, they’ll promise you anything to get you to sign a quote, including saying that the quoted price is the maximum you will pay for the move. Then 2 days before your move, they’ll try to charge you an additional 50% on top of the originally quoted price, and keep your deposit if you cancel their services. This company is set up to take advantage of people, please don’t give them your business.

Safe Ship is a scam of a company. They do not keep up their end of contract agreements and the customer service is absolutely terrible. If the time frame of delivery is agreed to be between 5-10 days there is NO excuse for delivery outside of that 10 day window. Everyone I've managed to talk too (by calling a dozen different numbers) has been impatient and rude, taking no responsibility for the terrible experience and stress I've had. The company is a scam and they are thieves. I can only believe they've stolen my belongings as it was all loaded up onto a truck 20 days ago and I have yet to get any confirmation of a delivery date or time. This is a terrible company and no one should ever use them.

SafeShip is a BROKER. The actual moving company was A&S. A few days before the scheduled move, they did a quality assurance check and increased the price by over $7,000, knowing it was too late for me to hire someone else. Only one of the actual movers spoke English. They were very careless, broke several objects and pieces of furniture, and only worked when the boss was watching them. They also denied creating a huge dent and scratch on my wall. DO NOT USE!!!

Do not use this company for moving, not only didn’t I get slimy movers who had me review them while they looked over my shoulder, the price and communication from this company is Incredibly bad. They are not reliable, they are not accurate, and it's not worth the headache caused. I was told I wouldn't have to worry about overnight because of the distance by two representatives. But the held my stuff over night and I wasn't prepared and slept on the floor of the empty apt with my dog. My quote started at 2600 and ended up being 3400 because of the added stuff. I didn't have that much stuff and should have just got the 10’ U-Hual. Also one of my boxes get taken out of the truck and these movers show no sign of sending it back.

SafeShip participated in fraudulent, unethical, shady, and neglectful business practices that ultimately have come at our expense, both financially and emotionally. This company has taken an already stressful and overwhelming process and made it exponentially worse by baiting and switching us. SafeShip made false promises, baseless claims, failed to manage expectations or communicate even the most basic things related to our service, priced gouged us, and brokered a move with a company that damaged or destroyed thousands of dollars’ worth of furniture, equipment, and other precious belongings all while having shown a lack of care, compassion, or understanding for their consumer. Up to this point there has been no accountability for either of these entities. If this is happening to us, I can guarantee it is happening to others.

I just wanted a quote from this company to compare to some others that I was looking at as well. When I finally got that quote it was around 4K when two other companies quoted me around 1800-2000 dollars. I decided to go with another company. I got a call from Shay, she asked if I was going to use them, I told her no and I chose another company. She asked why and I told her it was cheaper and better for my budget. She then asked me what they quoted my cubic footage and I told her to which she said "oh I have you at more" and I said okay....
Then she said that I was probably being scammed by the other company because there was no way that they would quote me correctly and what would happen if they didn't show up or they charged me 2K more when they showed up. I then told her what happens to me isn't her business and that if that was the case I would figure it out, but I wasn't worried in the slightest.
These "selling" tactics that these "customer representatives" use are crazy and maybe they shouldn't do that to get customers. After I hung up on her for being a crazy person and rude a few weeks later I got a call from some other guy asking me if I was planning on using them. When I told him no he was like, "Oh Shay said maybe." And I told him, "No, I told her that I was going with someone else." I wouldn't suggest this company at all because to quote someone four thousand and then try to do a scare tactic on a customer is crazy work.

I recently booked a move with Safe Ship Moving Services, and I strongly advise anyone considering them to think twice.
1. They Are Just a Broker - Safe Ship does not handle moves directly. They take your deposit and pass you off to an unknown third-party carrier. They take no responsibility for pricing changes, delays, or damage to your belongings.
2. High-Pressure Sales & Manipulation - When I initially called, I clearly stated I needed time to compare quotes. The sales rep pressured me to "lock in a discount" immediately, claiming I could cancel within 72 hours. The moment I tried to cancel, they became aggressive, defensive, and pushy.
3. Stall Tactics on Cancellations & Refunds - When I exercised my right to cancel within the 72-hour window, Safe Ship delayed, ignored, and repeatedly tried to upsell me on different carriers instead of processing my refund. I had to send multiple firm emails before they finally complied.
4. Endless Calls & Harassment - Even after I got written confirmation of my cancellation and refund, different departments kept calling me, pressuring me to sign a Bill of Lading for a move I had already canceled. This company is completely disorganized.
Lessons Learned: Always work with a direct mover, like Allied or North American, where payment is due at delivery, not upfront. If a company pressures you into paying immediately, it's a red flag. Read reviews carefully--many others have experienced the same bait-and-switch tactics. This was a stressful and unnecessary ordeal. I was fortunate to know my rights and push back aggressively--but many people don't. I hope this review helps others avoid this mess.

Movers came on 2/25/25 and said, "What day would you like your belongings." I said, "3/1/25." Now they are telling me that's the date they get to go off of and not the pickup date. They should do better for this price.

I would not recommend this company. I was promised several things by my “move coordinator“, every single item was a lie. The price kept increasing after contracts were signed, to make it equal to Allied or United Van Lines. I was told things would be packed for me because I am disabled. That I could bring our wine collection and we didn’t need to empty our items out. EVERY little thing was extra! I was told my vehicles were to be moved but, oops we forgot to send it to the auto department to schedule it for the price quoted. Turns out they are at the higher end of the range of vehicle movers. Trust me this turned out to be almost 2x the quoted price and we even had to hire extra movers to bring our stuff to our front yard because our backyard was too far and cost extra. I just found out that at our destination, everything is going into the garage because will cost extra to move it into our home.

I worked with Noah directly who seemed sort of professional in the beginning. As soon as I signed the contract after explaining to him in detail his response was the ugliest response one could offer a customer. I told him I have cancer and moving to Chicago was for treatment but in case something happens I needed his company to work with me. One week prior to moving, I was deemed critically unfit to travel. I reached out to his company and he said I can save it or transfer the 2k towards friends/family and if I go down the route of reversing it through my credit card company it's fraud. Imagine going through cancer and chemo and whens are limited and Noah wants to pocket 2k for his company. Disgusting immoral pig. This is not a family based company. Please don't work with them.
