I need to move from CA to SC on 7/27/2024. The safe ship agent Dan called and gave me an estimate of $2839.58., so I signed the BOL on 5/4/2024 and paid a $963.76 deposit. On 6//29/2024 I received an email from Dan, I asked him to add a dinner table and 6 chairs to my existing move item list, and he said adding $100 would do. 07/22/2024, 5 days before my moving, I received an email from Safeship _ QUALITY ASSURANCE, and asked me to finalize the item list, and I added a sofa and a few garden tools. I was waiting for Safe Ship to send me a new estimate and new BOL that they had never did
The next day, a SAFESHIP service guy called me and indicated that Safe Ship would charge me $5000 for the move over the phone. I asked why the upcharge was so much. I canceled the move with Safe Ship over the phone. I have to find a new mover within two days. The Safeship refused to refund the $963.76 deposit I paid. Even they broke the BOL first.

Two days before the movers came to pick up my belongings (for a cross country move) the cost doubled. DOUBLED!!!! There was nothing I could do. I couldn't cancel because I would have been out thousands. When my belongings arrived at my new home, there was no crew to unload the truck. Just the driver. So I had to help unload the truck. About half way through one additional person came to help. The driver didn't know how to reassemble that bed that was disassembled at pick up. The one object I have that I was afraid to pack myself, so I asked the movers to pack it, broke. They said they would contact me about it and no one has. Do not use them, they don't care.

Updated on 01/10/2025: Got even worse. After overcharging almost a thousand dollars and breaking hundreds of dollars worth of furniture, I then jumped through hoops to get a $70.00 settlement that was NEVER received. Again settlement is a different company, so once you submit, they can't help. Scam all the way around. Research shows several Utube videos with people showing same things.
Original Review: Verified amounts and reviewed all items to be moved. Had a second review prior to pick up. On the day of prior to loading the price increased by almost $600.00 movers could not explain increase. Sent text and email with no response. At that point you are screwed and they know it. They refused to load if we didn't sign all the paperwork on the spot, again stuck at this point. Took 3 weeks for delivery and items were broken. Filed claim paperwork- outcome was a $70.00 settlement letter you have to sign and upload, but when you try to upload it, they need credit card info. Whole thing is a total scam. Plus my cash app was hacked. Not sure this was unrelated.

EZ Movers and Safe Ship were very professional when delivering the items but the delivery timeframe was very unprofessional and disjointed. Please make sure that drivers and dispatchers can talk to customers. Pickup was easy and the foreman was very good about making sure cost and price were all set.

Where to even begin? I guess from the start. It began with my wife and I having to separate with her living in PA and Me having to go back home to work in MA knowing MA was where our life was and where we needed to be. It was one goal only. Get home. Period. We spent the longest 6 months apart while my wife cared for our 10 year old daughter and me eyes on the goal of getting them home with me. After working 7 days every week for 6 months straight the goal finally came true and we secured a home back in MA. Being so busy at work now I opted to delegate the move to safe ship due to their approach and availability. We were told we were getting a 26’ truck that would be more than enough for our belongings and I did agree as that was approximately what we used for the move to PA. We did ask for any potential discounts as funds have been tight. They were able to approve us for $1500.00 in “incentives”.
We unfortunately agreed and the madness ensued. Three days before our scheduled move Safe Ship contacted us as a “quality assurance” call which was nothing more than a scam to get more money. This service agent went about telling me that after speaking with my wife the 10’ box truck they had us scheduled for wouldn’t be big enough and we’d need a 26’. She explained that we needed 1764 cu ft of space but the estimate we agreed to was only 509 cubic ft. I advised the agent that I have the copy of the estimate we agreed to, stating that our estimated volume was 1655 cu ft.
She told me I was wrong and would not allow me to send the copy of what I have agreed to and demanded that I pay another $4365.00 in extra cost to get the 26’ truck. I advised that I would not be paying for that as it’s what we agreed to from the beginning. They advised they would not be refunded our $1500.00 deposit and we are now stuck with no way to get my family home. Thanks safe ship! Keep up the great work.

Definitely should have done more research before choosing this company. I come from a long line of veterans and thought I was choosing a good company. The only good thing about this was the phone call. Everything after that has been a hassle. From several different payments to having to pay with a money order or Zelle at the end And this was after I was told I could pay a credit card throughout the whole process. Then was pretty much told it was my mistake because they didn't run the balance when they picked my things up.
Since when is it the consumer's responsibility to make sure that the companies you are working with are on the same page? It's now been 16 days and I still don't have my things. Was told they were going to be here Monday. I had to call to see when they would be there. When I called I was told that the truck broke down and they wouldn't be here until Saturday. Saturday came and went and was told they would be here Sunday between 10:00 and 2:00 p.m. Called them on Sunday and was told it would be between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. So here I am waiting on the edge of my seat to see what happens next. Again I should have done more research so I will take the blame on this one. Next time I will go with the reputable company.

$10,000 to move a 4Br house 2.5 hours. The inventory process was super confusing. Giving over the phone estimates about what we own and packed. It lead to an estimate of about 1500 cubic feet. Guy showed up with a U-Haul after we were told we’d have our own shipping container truck. U-Haul was too small and led to 2 trips, which extended our move time. Price kept increasing. Language barriers made it hard to explain we needed everything moved, when movers kept asking “is this on the inventory sheet?”. Long story short, I wouldn’t use them again. We got everything moved but it was an expensive headache.

I booked my move with Safe Ship moving because they were listed as one of the top state to state moving companies. When I initially contacted them a month before the move, we briefly went over all of the inventory that I needed moved from my 3-bed home in Louisiana to my home in Tennessee. I was quoted a reasonable price and paid my deposit. I was told they would contact me 3-4 days before the move to ensure there were no changes. When they contacted me before the move, they had me go through the house with a measuring tape to measure all the furniture and boxes then doubled the price stating I doubled my inventory, and I was past my window to get my deposit back. We went back and forth with this as I was not willing to pay the additional charges. I had to sell some items and rent a trailer and move some of the stuff myself to avoid the additional charges.
The movers showed up on time and had a very large truck with items from other customers in it and only one of them spoke English. They were very quick but rough with my furniture and boxes. They broke the table leg to my kitchen table then tried to tell me it was already broken. The one who spoke English said he could fix the leg by going to the hardware store and buying screws; the wooden leg was split and there was no way I was letting him fix it. They left trash in my yard and were very messy. Two days later they arrived in Tennessee with my items in a different truck and unloaded them into our garage. Again, they were very rough with my items, and I noticed one of the legs on my tv stand was broke/bent. The English-speaking man bushed it off saying it was fixable by just screwing it back in, but the bolt was bent so that was not possible.
When they got to the boxes which were stacked to the ceiling of the truck, I noticed about 75% of the boxes were damaged and or crushed. When I brought this to the English-speaking man's attention, he told me it was because I did not pack them all the way to the top, not so. These were not cheap boxes; they were moving boxes I purchased at HomeDepot. After unpacking the boxes, I found a few of my items broken even though they were packed well in bubble wrap. I do NOT recommend this moving company or any of its affiliates. I cannot understand why they are listed as one of the top state to state moving companies. They either write their own good reviews or pay for them. You have to dig and research to find the bad ones and they all have very similar stories.

I had high hopes for Safe Ship Moving Services, but they quickly proved unreliable. From the start, they were disorganized and unclear about scheduling, leaving me in the dark about when my belongings would arrive. Each time I tried to get an update, I was met with vague answers and inconsistent information. The lack of communication added so much stress to an already hectic move.
When my items finally arrived, I was shocked to find that several boxes were damaged, and a few items were broken beyond repair. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, they offered no accountability or compensation. I expected a professional service but received nothing close to that. I’d strongly advise against using Safe Ship Moving Services for your move.

Safeship are brokers who will do rushed first quote over the phone rushing you through the items so that they can highly understate the volume of your goods, at this point they take a deposit. Then closer to the time of the move they do a second accurate inventory that doubles the quoted price. This is a scamming practice that should be banned. If you want to stomp them just ask what’s in the “binding estimate fee” - this line item alone for us was around 6k$ out of 14k$ and it’s basically Safeship’s cut. They then subcontract the work for a third party (lowest bidder) who get less than half of your total and of course, proves a terrible service.
Unfortunately, like others, our job was subcontracted to Alltogether by Safeship. This company managed to lose over 20 large ticket items including an Herman Miller Aeron Chair, parts needed for 3 beds and a chest of drawers (which we now have to trash), a bike, a large box of vintage books, and more… around 10k $ worth of losses. This is because their first driver Jordan thought it was a good idea to set off from New Jersey to Texas with only part of our load since it “did not fit in the truck”. They then tried to deliver the remainder but the new driver Chris didn’t secure the load, items got banged up and mixed up, and apparently, he left the wrong items (a bunch of dirty clothes in trash bags) in the Austin warehouse.
Our items? Probably delivered to someone else. Throughout this ordeal, the owner Mikhail and the NJ warehouse manager Moe seemed to mean well and tried to work with us until they decided to ghost us completely. I assume they completely lost track of our (and probably others’) belongings. I would have appreciated being told our items were lost straight out instead of them stopping all communication. Overall, a very disorganized company who put themselves in the hands of incompetent drivers. Brokers like Safeship should not be allowed to scam customers and if you fall on Alltogether run!

And, no, they don't. They don't do their best to provide what you really need to you. This is all the corporate words that they can think of when it comes to click-baiting you. I DO NOT recommend this moving company. If I don't exaggerate, RUN!
I had a friend who moved across the state around the last week of September 2024. She found this company because of their highly rated reviews. She and the guys who came in and moved her boxes had an argument about the disassembling the furniture. They told her that it was NOT their job to disassemble her furniture although the contract said otherwise. Not to mention that they charged her MORE than her initial quote. As a result, my friend was NOT happy with this company already. They even tore down the plastic covers that my friend and I put up on her furniture for HOURS. I understand that at some point of the moving process, it was a bit inconvenient to move the things around with the plastic covers on like that. Instead of telling us about the inconvenience, they tore all of the plastic covers BY THEMSELVES without asking any permission from us.
I saw that they wrapped the table's surface very carefully, so kudos to them. However, they somehow did NOT wrap the table's legs. They even told my friend that the price wouldn't change even though she had fewer boxes than what she would expect to have. THEY STILL UPCHARGED HER. Fast-forward to the day she got her boxes, the table's legs missed the foundation. Her bed frame was dented. She called the customer service, but she was unable to reach them regarding the damages she discovered. And, once again, these delivery guys TORE UP any protective plastic covers that she had over her furniture without asking her permission first!!! Again, I would not RECOMMEND this company. My friend did her research and this is what she got. Please please please avoid this company at any cost!!

The sign up with Joseph was very friendly and efficient. The adjusting of the inventory with the Quality Assurance phone call was efficient and reassuring. The gap between here and the actual movers was a problem. I was told to do a cashier's check for the first move and found out at the last minute that was not ok and that the amount owed was adjusted because of distance to the truck in one end and number of stairs on the other. I tried to book a morning time between then the day before found out the time was between 11 and 2. I had people moving into my place at 2. And I could not get the right people on the phone to help me.
Finally heard from the actual moving crew, they kept me informed and hustled and got me cleared out by 1:45. They were efficient and knowledgeable and polite and very helpful. Again on delivery of my things the next day into my new home in another state, they were great. So the biggest problem is the gap between set up and the actual movers. And if something is not going right, at that stage, there is no good contact.

I wanted to take a minute and provide some feedback on our moving experience with Safe Ship. When we booked this move I went room by room and gave descriptions on every item in the room / house that we were having moved. We were given a price of around 13K for the move and promptly paid over the phone for the service. It was never revealed that Safe Ship was a brokerage. I was told by the salesperson that there was an empty truck that needed a load in Phoenix and that all was arranged. I never gave it a second thought. The moving team showed up a day late giving us only 24 hours to be out of the house before closing. When they did finally show up they charged us an additional 5000.00 to take the load. We had no choice but to pay their ransom or face a total disaster trying to close on our home sale.
When I went outside to open the garage for them to get access I was shocked to see they were in a rented Penske box truck that was obviously too small to take our items. I was charged additional money to move my gun safe and expected that the crew would be able to handle the job as I was asked to provide the safe make, model and serial number to Safe Ship Moving. What I witnessed was shocking to say the least. They put the safe on its side on a furniture dolly and left it that was most of the day. The crew left to unload the truck at some point and unloaded, then came back for the gun safe and the remaining items. When they came back they had a few additional guys to help and proceeded to run the safe down the driveway to load on this Penske truck up a flimsy ramp that nearly collapsed under the weight of the safe scraping it on the ramp and the pavement along the way.
We had scheduled directly with the movers for the delivery on September 9th for a move in date of September 30th as you requested. We gave them more than 7 days notice. We never had any response from the movers directly and had to go back to Safe Ship to get any type of communication with their dispatch team. We were told to expect the delivery between 2pm and 6pm on October 1st. That day came and went and we received a call from the driver in the evening on the 1st informing us they were in Sacramento and they would be there sometime on Wednesday the 2nd. Two guys showed up at 11:00 am and they sat around and waited for a third to show up. The crew unloaded the truck the rest of the day and as things unfolded we saw a good amount of damage to our belongings. I will start the list then add the pictures:
King bed headboard shattered and not repairable.
End Table for the living room set with a smashed drawer that will no longer open.
Wire frame storage rack bent and broken.
Very high end orthopedic office chair with torn fabric. We saw it was wrapped in plastic when it left but delivered bare. The permanent ink that was used to label the room it came out of bled through the plastic and into the fabric of the chair. The chair was also dirty, covered in dirt and dust.
The King footboard for the master bedroom set is a custom juniper bed set and it has a large crack running down the wood.
The damage to the safe is plain bad. There are gouges and scrapes all over the safe and the locking mechanism no longer functions properly. The alignment is off and it is hard to say if once closed and locked if it will open again. Last but not least the safe was left where I cannot move it and they did not leave it level so it rocks. They placed three of the 4 leveling blocks. I am currently working with Fort Knox Safes Company to see if it can be sent to them for repairs.
Two remaining items:
The truck that was loaded to deliver was too small and they had extended the ramp and they had loaded items on the ramp and strapped them to the inside of the truck and had the back door open. There was a good deal of stuff that was wet when it was unloaded.
The drivers also took all the material that items were wrapped in, tape, cardboard plastic etc. and piled it in our driveway.. They said it was my problem to get rid of it as they swept broken glass and other debris into the pile. They also left a few boxes and other stuff that did not belong to us so someone else is missing their belongings.

Updated on 10/30/2024: Safe Ship hasn’t replied to us since October 7th. Their first tactic was to have us repeat the entire series of events in a private message. Now they’re ignoring us. We have damaged property and 14,000.00 in charges due to a shady third party Safe Ship (a brokerage NOT a moving company) hired. They want to have zero accountability for the people they hired. This forum won’t allow me to enter all of the photos of damage I have. I thought it pertinent to include how they’ll stack your items. You will be in an 18 wheeler among 4-5 other families. They will pile heavy on top of light and break things like a peloton bike, two wire shelving units, two night stands, a kitchen table, and the list goes on. This service is horrendous.
Original: We initially encountered a problem when we learned that safe ship hires a 3rd party moving company and immediately doesn’t take responsibility for the movers. They showed up and charged us an additional 1,500.00 for gym equipment. We disclosed this gym equipment & the specifics beforehand. We even went over it a 2nd time on the quality assurance call. Now our total was up to almost 14,000.00. Next is delivery. We notified safe ship three times of the new address. And on the day of delivery they still went to the wrong location. It was over an hour from our actual delivery location. Safe ship would not take responsibility and their customer service team was beyond unprofessional and rude stating “at least it’s arriving the same day”.
The 3rd party wanted to charge us for the difference in mileage and delivery address, which we had notified safe ship of long before the truck left. The third party agreed to waive those fees to keep the stair fees (there are no stairs at our delivery location) and safe ship wanted to present that as though we’re getting a deal. We’re still paying for a) their mistake and b) stairs we don’t have. This entire experience has not been worthy of over 13,000.00. I would never use them again. Wasn't clear about pricing. The 2nd quote was 2xs the first. The initial customer service representative should have been more careful with the video walk through of my house. He seemed very rushed. Of course I was blamed for it when my quote doubled. Also the movers did not deliver my barbell and did not set up the treadmill or the weight bench. They also left moving blankets and not all the furniture was unwrapped. They left a big pile of cardboard boxes in my garage.

My move started out in Oregon and I had a great experience with the movers that picked up my household goods, both at my house, and at my storage just down the road however, the final destination with delivery started out great until all the debris of my items that were wrapped very carefully got left at my house when they unwrapped my HHGs and the guy that helped the delivery driver did not come back and pick the debris up like he promised to do. They should’ve disposed of the debris. I don’t think I should have to do that but I’m having to do that so I am not pleased with the final outcome and I tipped very well both that start of job and at the end of delivery. So to be fair and in all honesty, the team that picked up my household goods get 10 stars…

They can do this because they are a brokerage. What shows up at your door are, people who are scary and plucked straight from the depths of Hades. Steer clear! To whom it may concern, I would like to file a customer service complaint against Safe Ship Moving. Safe Ship Moving took my money and paired me up with a moving company, Perfectly Fast Moving, whose foreman was difficult upon arrival to pick up my belongings. He claimed that the truck would not be big enough to fit all my belongings but miraculously, in the end it did. I was charged for indoor stairs within the apartment. Plus I was also charged a substantial bending fee. When I first called to ask for assistance, I was ghosted by the original logistics coordinator that I spoke with. He never answered my phone calls to his direct line that he provided me with. Nor did he return my phone calls after leaving multiple messages.
So I was forced to call the main customer service line in which I spoke with a customer service representative. The customer service representative did not help resolve the issue, knowing that I was at the mercy of the moving company crew. I specifically told the representative that I felt uncomfortable. I sent him pictures of the invoice in which he noticed and stated that there were unusual charges on the invoice. The matter was never truly addressed, because I still wound up paying the additional fees to keep the peace and to get my move accomplished. I also left multiple messages for the customer representative at the direct line that he provided me with. Once again, I was ghosted.
What kind of customer service is this? I paid good money and I was money gouged with no real customer service to speak of from this company. It is apparent to me that all they care about is the money. It was already a very stressful time for me. Made needlessly worse by lack of/poor customer service. I do not recommend this company. Trish

If I could I would rate this no stars. Be very aware they hire other companies to do the work and make sure you read the fine print. You are only given an estimate. It is not until you go through your final call before your move before you find out what the real cost of your move will be so if it sounds really good best believe do not believe it! Do your homework because I paid almost $8k to have my car shipped and items shipped and the vendors used were unprofessional. My items were damaged and they are not trying to pay me the true value of my property. I had so many upfront additional cost prior to items arriving.
If you have a friend or know someone just pay them to help with your move and that is what I should have done. Their customer service reps talked to me unprofessionally once they got a lot of money out of me and I promised myself I would never use another moving company again because this was my first time and it was an extremely terrible experience and you can forget about Safe Ship giving you any money back or even helping you. Safe Ship Moving paired me up with the moving company PerfectlyFast. My initial quote to move from Texas to Massachusetts started at below 5K, but with all the adjustments they made, I was charged more than 10K in the end. First, it increased when going over the phone before the pickup day. Then, they add additional charges on the day of the pickup and the day of delivery. They kept making adjustments, and when I tried to say something, they always answered that everything was in the contract. For example, on the delivery day, I was told that because the truck could not access my house street, they would charge me an extra fee to rent a Uhall and transfer things to the Uhall, then to my house. A week later, a truck of the same size parked on my street with no problems.
The driver responsible for the delivery was extremely rude on the phone and the day of delivery. My furniture was purely packed and poorly managed. I packed the stuff and put a label saying that it was fragile. It did not matter. They were not carefully transporting my stuff, as plates, mugs, and glass decorations arrived broken. Things that they packed arrived damaged too. Like my file cabinets arrived with two big holes on top, and my coffee table came with multiple scratches. I have items that are missing. The whole experience was a complete nightmare experience. I wish I had gotten rid of everything and just bought new staff.
On the day of pick up, one of the movers for PerfectlyFast asked me to rate the company on his phone. I was naive and gave them a good rating that day because they picked my stuff in a fast manner. But I was rating only the pickup experience. The company never contacted me about the delivery experience. Again, I completely regret using their services. Safe Ship told me to write up a claim about Pefercly Fast, but I don't feel they are taking responsibility for how poorly Perfectly Fast managed my moving. Again, I don't recommend Safe Ship Moving or Perfectly Fast.

The man was very demeaning saying I don't have time to just shop around, insulting other companies saying I shouldn't just be looking for the best price because I have no time. He then said if I don't give them a deposit by the end of the call, he wouldn't even bother calling his guys and "helping me out". Refused to give me the FREE QUOTE without a deposit either. I told him I was no longer interested and he wouldn't stop talking, asking why I was suddenly acting like that.

California to Texas, we were told the moving company would get there from 2-12 days. We call on day 12 and the broker said it was 12 business days which they never mentioned, and they haven’t even left California yet with our stuff at that point. We call on the 12th business day and they keep saying by the next week. Who knows if they left California yet. By then it will be 16 business days but 22 days in total.
The movers said they have 30 days to get us our stuff. Which the broker NEVER mentioned as well. The actual moving company, the guys were early, quick and nice. Mind you we packed 95% of our stuff ourselves before they came. We did have to pay more than the initial quote. My complaint is the broker because they are the ones who set everything up with lies and false promises so be aware. I would rather have a headache going straight to the source with a legit moving company than dealing with a broker.

They do not show up when they say, they're impossible to reach, and they will quote you an entirely new price for your move. They will also quote you a new price on the spot without weighing your items which is what every reputable mover will do. They will weigh your stuff and then give you a price... My parents used their mover and their stuff was put into storage in NJ after they were told it would be stored at their destination. I would give his company zero or negative stars if that was an option. This company makes money on setting up the move, but uses other companies to actually do the packing and moving. We were told the name of the company they chose to do our packing and moving less than a month prior to the move, said company "A & S Packing and Moving" had zero online presence, no reviews and was supposedly headquartered in New Jersey. Our move was from Minnesota to Florida. That raised red flags with us immediately, but it was too late to get our money back and find a new moving company.
Safe Ship also does all estimates of the cost virtually, either by short video tours of the house, or the customer sending photos, or a list of the customer's furniture and number of boxes. We initially agreed to pay $16,668 for the full packing and moving from MN to FL (3 bedroom house). The payment was required via check, no credit card. Two weeks before the move they asked for a phone call where I walked through the house and gave them another list of the furniture and estimated boxes. In between we had not bought anything new so theoretically there should have been no difference to the quote. However they then made us pay an additional $2500 (for this they accepted credit card).
Lastly the moving company showed up, supplies and truck were U Haul. Only one man spoke English and they packed up U-Haul boxes and didn't label any of them by room or type of belongings, they spent more time on our front lawn smoking, talking and yelling on the phone than actually packing. They packed the whole house, and as we directed, loaded half of our belongings on the truck and delivered it to a storage facility we had rented. Then they demanded and additional $11,000 CASH to come back the next day to pack up the remainder of the house and deliver it to our new home in Florida. At this point we fired them. Luckily, Two Men and a Truck was able to come to our rescue the very next day, which was a miracle, but of course we had already lost a lot of money to Safe Ship.

Immediately received a call from a rep, who walked me through a basic quote before pressuring me to do a full inventory - despite me being very explicit that I was calling for a general quote about a move I was only thinking about. I told him I would need time to do so, reiterated that I was only thinking about the possibility, and we made an appointment for follow up the following Friday. He then tried again to get me to do a full inventory while on the phone before finally agreeing to talk again on Friday. During this conversation, I'm receiving multiple calls simultaneously from different numbers all associated with SafeShip.
The next day, on Monday, I receive a text asking if I had completed the inventory yet, as well as eight phone calls throughout the morning/afternoon, all from different numbers associated with SafeShip, and then periodically throughout the week, despite having been told an explicit date for follow up. I indicated that I wanted off the contact list.
About a week later, I was duped by a website (not naming names....), claiming to help match me with a moving company for a quote, into entering my contact information. They then turned around and gave (sold?) that contact information, including my phone number, to who knows how many different "moving companies". SafeShip has been the most aggressive by far - I'm getting multiple phone calls, multiple times a day, from multiple numbers all associated with SafeShip. Blocking and reporting as spam has done nothing to abate this. I called the number on their website, asked to be removed from their contact list, and then was told "Okay" and hung up on. Do not use them!!! They take your money in the form of a broker fee to set you up with movers and provide “customer service” but then they are useless and provide incorrect information that makes your move such a headache. First, they told me I could use Venmo to pay the movers but when they came and got all my stuff the movers said they have never taken Venmo before so I had to scramble to find another way to pay them. I did call Safe Ship to complain that they have wrong info and they said they called the movers and they would make an exception and let me use Venmo. The movers on site said they couldn’t do that even after safe ship said they handled it for me.
Also, the estimate that safe ship gave me after I spent an hour on the phone going over every single item I was moving with the dimensions was completely wrong so I owed so much more money upon pickup than I was prepared to pay. I understand an estimate could be off, but my cost almost doubled. Then, I didn’t hear anything from the movers for a week and couldn’t get ahold of them regarding when my stuff would show up so I called back safe ship to see if they could actually be helpful. They were not. They again gave me information that contradicted original information they provided me.
They said my stuff would arrive 2 to 12 days from pick up when I originally booked with them but if they showed up before I could accept the delivery the movers could be redirected. Because of this I had my stuff picked up earlier than I would have liked to start that window by their recommendation. So when I called them for help as I’m concerned about where my stuff is they are telling me the movers said they called me and I told them I wasn’t ready for my stuff (which never happened) and they said it would be there 2 to 12 days after my first available delivery date.
I ended up blowing up the moving company and finally got in touch with them and they confirmed my stuff would be there by 12 days from pickup at the latest and admitted their mistake of saying they talked to me as they mixed up customers. Safe Ship Moving provided me with a mover when I relocated from Connecticut to Kansas for a new job opportunity. They completely mislead me to thinking I would get my stuff within 2-12 days. When my things didn’t arrive I called to check only to be treated rudely by the customer service rep. They held my things for 8 days before a truck got on the road. Horrible company and horrible service!!! Fake 5 star rating!! Several complaints on BBB.

Do NOT contact Safe Ship for your moving needs. We lost belongings, the movers would not move all of our inventory due to running out of cubic feet. We only got our sofa, 3 beds, and a China cabinet. I had to pay $500 more on the spot just for them to load our washer and dryer! They claimed our items were not “stackable”. The moving company, Best American Moving, LLC, literally only moved the items listed above. Nothing else. My husband and a friend had to go back days later to get the rest of things and basically move ourselves. So, we paid over $5000 to not be moved. I feel ripped off and completely frustrated. Customer service has been no help and it looks like there is no way to get a refund. The discrepancy from what I listed and paid to be moved versus what was actually moved is astonishing. I have been sick about this move due to the very poor organization of this company and the carrier they hired. Please avoid them!

We had gone with them because of the note that they are veteran owned. They did not tell us they were brokers. We put 8k down, then 3 days before pick up they called and said the estimate was wrong and we had to pay 8k more. It was 5 days before closing on our house and we felt stuck. The movers showed up at 6pm on the last day with only 2 people, 1 small truck and a uhaul. The movers (Best American LLC) scammed us into spending more money so that we could get the household goods delivered (as they couldn't tell us where it was being stored). They then didn't come straight to us, they unloaded all our goods into another van causing more damage. Additionally, we paid more to have them pack our stuff and then they barely packed our goods. With opening them we keep finding more broken things. Reaching out to customer service multiple times and got no assistance. I am disgusted if this is truly a veteran who keeps scamming people.

The gentlemen setting up my order asked me how big is my home so I looked it up and told him 1,623 sqft. He said, "Oh you will have plenty of space." So here I am believing my entire home would be shipped. I even gave away a lot of stuff since that quote and set-up date to pick up all my belongings. It was a disaster. they only moved 600 sqft of my belongings. And lol, they took all the stuff I had already boxed and taped up. Along with what was in my living room and dining room. But all three bedrooms were completely left full. They also charged me for the shipment of the safe and treadmill which they NEVER PICKED UP. $625.00 I'M STILL WAITING FOR SINCE MAY 15TH 2024 when I shipped my things with them. They got their money and screwed me.
I had to leave with my husband who's in the military and so I had to depend on other people to pack and ship the other 3 bedrooms of my belongings. I hired Safe Ship to move my furniture from Colorado Springs to Binghamton. Pickup was 3 locations in Colorado Springs. The cost was higher than anticipated and additional unexpected fees. I told them the first day I was available for delivery was 11 Aug 24. On 7 Aug 24, I called for an update on delivery. I was told Mon/Tues (12/13 Aug). On 13 Aug, I called for an update. I was told Wed/Thurs (14/15 Aug). It was annotated in my notes the only time I was unavailable was afternoon/evening of 14 Aug. I was called on 14 Aug and told they would deliver that evening. We agreed to 'first thing in the morning' on 15 Aug.
Around 11:30 am on 15 Aug, I called for a status update. I was told it may be the next day (16 Aug) due to the truck hitting a bridge. I have had to chase down information from Safe Ship and All Seasons Moving Company. I do not know the status of my goods and I do not know when they will deliver it. It's been incredibly difficult to get a straight answer out of Safe Ship. I have rearranged my travel plans due to the dates they have given me and may have to change plans again. This company uses scare tactics to get you to call them. I didn’t choose them and went with another company. One I used before and liked. Safe Ship gave me the runaround when I wanted a quote. As in, full-on car salesman. Not too honest with their tactics. They get the day I want to move and send me a text (no company name) that ‘dispatch is rerouting my truck and it’s first come first serve’. I call the number and it’s the same salesman (not dispatch). Run! Their quote was double.

If you read nothing else, my main takeaway is don’t ever use this company for your move. My recent experience was horrible from start to finish. I am in the military and we move frequently and I can say this was by far the worst experience I have had to date. When I first called to ask about their services and quotes I was directed to a member of their sales team. Her name was Maggie. I thought she was extremely thorough and helpful… but reflecting back on it now I see that she was mostly just very good at her job at securing a sale. She glossed over the fact that this company is a broker and they facilitate moves (in fact I don’t recall her even saying those words). She states that the company takes pride in taking care of their military members and knows what it means to have to move and how stressful that can be and how she was going to take care of our family.
Well now I get to take pride in spreading this review as far and wide as I can as a warning to other military members not to use this company. During the sales call, Maggie explained the different options of packing services and kept using buzz words like concierge packing service… you sit back and do nothing and we take care of everything. They will bring the boxes and pack and unpack and set everything up. It will be so easy for you. She also said the dates I wanted were perfect because their schedule was still open and even commended me on calling early before the bustle of moving season. She helped me go room to room and inventory things in my house so they could get a price estimate. She said over and over “I really want to get you below $10,000. We want to take care of our military members and I think we can do it.” And she did in the estimate.
Everything sounded so thorough and organized that when she sent over the estimates (a text message with a link on your phone) I opened it up and scanned it and the numbers lined up with what she said so I secured a reservation with them by putting down a deposit (half the estimated cost of the move up front). She told me I would hear from the quality assurance team again to go over inventory if things change and the company would reach out more and more as the date got closer. She gave me her personal contact info so I can reach her with follow up questions or concerns. I hung up feeling great. It was definitely too good to be true.
I tried to call Maggie when I had questions and could never reach her. I left messages and never got a callback. I was able to reach other representatives, but they were always from a random department and gave me their best guess at an answer but said “I would have to double check that’s not my department”. When a quality assurance member called me back it was 2 weeks out from my move date. We went over my home inventory, room by room item by item and he said “well, I’m glad we’re doing this because the original inventory did not have a basement or any items from the garage” and I said “wow ok, that’s odd because I did go over them with her.. but thanks for catching that”. I was not grateful when his follow up was “and based on that the price of the move is now estimated to be $19,000”… I was absolutely floored.
The price almost doubled. I expressed my concern and was super frustrated, but with the move being 2 weeks away there was really nothing I could do, but lose significant money with them from my down payments and scramble for a whole new moving company. I asked the representative when I would hear from the movers and he said very soon.
I also shipped my car with Safe Ship and two days before my car was scheduled to be picked up I called to get an update because I was given a 3 day window and needed to get my car ready. I was told the company would call me 24 hours out (not convenient at all). The person called and said they could come a day early, would that be ok? I said, not really, but I think I can make it work. When the person got to my house he said “your car is full, I can't transport it with belongings in it.” This was a surprise to me so I called safe ship. I got a lovely rep named Tyler who essentially yelled and berated me when I called to ask how this happened saying “it's in the fine print of the contract you signed”. To which I replied, I admit I did not read every fine print line, but this seemed like a relatively important detail to not mention at any point in the reservation and shipping process.
I also explained I was told by safe ship I would have a representative call me after I booked the reservation to go over the finer details so I could have questions answered and be prepared for day of and payment. This did not occur. After trying to say this several different ways, Tyler (the rep on the phone) apologized and explained the process, but said I would need to empty the car and would be charged an additional $250 for wasting the guy’s time currently. I said, "Ok well can I empty the car and then have the guy come back tomorrow as originally scheduled" and he said, "No.You will have to do an entire new reservation and pay again." So my husband and I emptied all of our belongings on the lawn as quickly as we could to ensure the car could leave that night. That entire haggling process took 3 hours I will never get back.
Just as I was not called about updates or other details with the car, I was never contacted by Safe ship to go over any prep for the house move (like what can be packed in a truck and what can’t, how to prep, payment options etc). The moving company was supposed to come on a Saturday and Sunday and I was leaving town on Monday to move to my next location and check in for a house I already had reservations for (Airbnb). I finally got ahold of the moving company that was doing my move and they said the drivers would be coming between 230pm-630pm on Saturday and I said ok. They then called back to say in fact, it was going to be Sunday from 230-630pm and I said “Wow that seems like a tight timeline to pack and load the truck for my entire house” but the company assured me it would be ok.
The driver of the truck then called me on Sunday (the purported day of the move) at approximately 245pm and told me they would not get there until around 7pm. And I said “you’re going to be able to pack and move my stuff in one night?” and he said “oh, most definitely not. We will start Sunday night and then finish Monday because it’s a 2 day job”. This obviously frustrated me as I was told repeatedly this would not be the case. Additionally, who starts a pack for a family on a Sunday night? They didn’t actually show up until 745pm and by the time I filled out paperwork and then was told they only accept Zelle/Venmo (with small transfer limits) and money orders.
Lastly, they said the price I was quoted was only an estimate and they needed to do actual measurements of my belongings (they charge by square foot they have to move, which is also odd) and the new total would be $23,000. I was so irate I was seeing red and had to have my husband finish talking to them. They finally started packing around 8pm and finished at 1030pm. This was insane as that’s late for anyone, but we also have an infant.
On Monday we scrambled to get a money order and pay them the money we owed. The crew was very respectful and worked quickly and hard. They took care (with what I could see) in packing our belongings and getting the truck loaded. They said they were leaving and would get our stuff to the temporary storage facility (included in the pricing because we weren’t moving into our new home for a few weeks). All in all, we didn’t end up getting to leave our house until Monday evening at 9pm which was extremely inconvenient and we were delayed in getting to our next location and to our reservation on time. Safe ship had called that day, presumably to check on the progress of the move (as their voicemail implied), but I was so busy and upset I didn’t have a chance to answer. They did not call back.
Fast forward to mid July when we were approaching our move-in date. I waited for a call from Safe Ship that never came. I called them a week out to ask about the status update of our move and to make sure everything was on time for a scheduled delivery of the date we agreed upon in our contract. The representative said that they couldn’t guarantee that because from the proposed date of delivery the company has 10 business days to actually get the goods delivered (and it was in the fine print of my contract she pointed out). I didn’t know I could be surprised and disappointed again by Safe Ship and yet here I was in another horrible situation. I asked for the actual moving company contact info and the rep didn’t know/have it and would call me back (she never did). Additionally, they told me that their system still showed my stuff was in a storage facility IN THE STATE I MOVED FROM and not even in the state I moved to. I was floored.
About a day or two after this conversation, the moving company called me and told me they would be able to deliver my household goods on the date I had arranged (and had taken off work and made sure to be available for). They also said my stuff had been picked up a few days ago and was already in transit on the way to my new state and home. So the representative from Safe Ship didn’t even have accurate information about where my belongings were or when they would be brought to my house.
On the day of the move, the moving company arrived (and they had to contract local help to physically move the belongings because they didn’t have enough people). I told them I had paid for the concierge service and that my stuff should be put in the designated rooms and basic things set up (beds, tables, etc). Well it turns out that none of the boxes were labeled or marked in any way when they were packed so it was impossible to tell what was in each box. So they just stacked everything in rooms and had us sign a form saying we attested all of our belongings were here (which is impossible to know from looking at unlabeled boxes) and left. I called Safe ship and expressed my concerns that I paid for a concierge service and they said, well it looks like yours was that for packing, but not for unpacking. So the initial sales rep was completely disingenuous and flat out lied.
I never got a follow up call from Safe Ship. I called and said I wanted to file a formal complaint. A random rep took the basics of my complaint and said someone would call me back. 5 days later a rep called me and went over more details, but could not discuss in detail how my move estimate went from an initial approximation of $10,000 to a final total of $23,000. They stated this was because they were still waiting on the final bill and inventory from moving company (more than 2 weeks later). I said I would be seeking compensation from the company for any amount the military was not going to reimburse because I was over my limit. The representative said a manager with the approval authority to discuss compensation would call me back and also go in more detail about my complaint. And that was 3 weeks ago… crickets.
I have never written a formal complaint about a company and the fact that I am now taking the time to write a 4 page complaint should highlight just how horrible the experience was. The company puts all of their talent and resources into their sales department where the representatives are seemingly able to skirt the truth, if not flat out lie, get you in with a deposit and not go over any of the fine print and then ultimately price gouge and charge you OVER DOUBLE for their services. This should be criminal. I hope I can prevent others from using their services in the future and I sincerely hope they never get to take advantage of another military customer ever again.

Safe Ship Moving was so nice and helpful when I requested a quote and placed our order to be moved. We went over our inventory and explained they would be picking up from our house and a storage unit. Received a good quote... But that's where the friendly, helpful service ended. When I called Noah back to update him on our inventory - no answer... Email came back undeliverable. So I called Customer Service - many times and finally left a message - no call back. So I left a voicemail message giving them our update.
Spoke with Jared about 10 days before the move and we went thru the entire inventory. All set - Not! The truck shows up and had no idea that there was stuff at a storage unit. They raised the price - and at the end - did not have a big enough truck to get the things on storage. So we moved with only part of our possessions. Called Customer Service many times with no results. Finally got the manager, Savannah **. She assured me that she would look into it and would get back to me quickly. She said "we won't drag this out". That was two weeks ago. Ever since then each time I called she had been "out of the office". Asked for her supervisor and apparently she doesn't have one. The only recourse we had was to challenge their charge to our credit card. I wouldn't refer Safe Ship Moving to my worst enemy.

Wish I could give negative stars. Do NOT contact Safe Ship Moving services. They are horrible and deceptive. The sales up front will be helpful and get a base idea of your items. If you've never done a big move it's a daunting task. Safe ship moving services added unnecessary stress to our move. Quoted us a somewhat affordable price, sent us a binding estimate. Let me explain, I flat out asked would our price change and was told no, never this is a binding document and this is the price. The $2k deposit has a 72 hour window to be refunded if we requested. However, they call you 3-5 days before the move to verify exactly what's going on the truck, for cubic feet space. That's when the price jumped from $5k to $13k. She put me on hold returned and said the price was $7500.
Then the ignorant, fast talking person from safe ship moving became rude and condescending. She started asking, "Well can you get rid of anything?" Keep in mind we're moving 900 miles in 3 days. She then said "Oh you'll need a full 26' truck". I said yes and at uhaul you can rent a 26' truck with 2 helpers loading amd unloading for $2600, I asked why were they so ridiculously priced. She rambled some policy at me and wanted to continue. We cannot afford that price. We now have a credit with them and used uhaul for $2600. DO NOT USE SAFE SHIP MOVING SERVICES! Let them say what they want but the money trail we are about to lay out for you everything you need to know. They originally quoted us about $6000 for our move from Texas to Colorado, I chose them because they were the least expensive out of all of the companies but damn was I wrong. They did it by “cubic feet”. After the quality assurance call, we were increased to $13000. Because our cubic feet needs went from 700 to 1500 cubic feet.
WHO THE HECK HAS THAT MUCH MONEY LYING AROUND FOR A MOVE? My husband and I were extremely stressed out, we were losing our hair! How are we able to come up with that much money and WE CAN'T CHARGE IT. 4 DAYS before our move and we had NO time to find another company and they had required us to put down a nonrefundable $5900 deposit. YOU CAN ONLY PAY WITH DEBIT CARD. DELIVERY is CASH. If you want to go with them, accurate count of everything BEFORE YOU PACK UP AND MOVE because not only will they screw you, they will screw you SEVERAL times. Because after that $13000 jump increase, we were not able to buy ANYTHING ANYMORE and on top of that, after the guys loaded everything into our truck they had to increase it to $15000 because our things filled up the truck.
After this fiasco, I called other moving companies and I found out it probably would have been cheaper to be charged the whole entire truck instead VS just PER CUBIC feet. We feel so cheated. Bait and switch company 100%. The only good thing about this company is their sweet customer service, I cried so many times to them because who the heck HAS $8000 OUT OF THEIR POCKET TO PAY THESE PEOPLE?? Safe Ship was the WORST moving experience I have ever had. Not only did they double the price within the cancelation window (I had made a very organized list by room for them from the beginning, and actually reduced the detailed list of items by an entire sectional couch and queen size bed and mattress), they also increased it again on the spot. They rushed me into signing the paperwork, and explained .60 on the dollar, not pound, and assured me that was plenty. I expect costs to shift a little, and a broken glass here or there but paid 2k extra for packers and some of the items were just thrown into the boxes with no wrapping at all. Many items are missing. They arrived 9 days after pick up (I was told 3-5 days), with 1 hour notice (I was told I would be given 48 hours notice, with a call 24 hours prior with a time window) at 7pm on a Sunday night.
It took HOURS to unload, especially considering they had another entire home's worth of items in front of mine in the truck that they had to completely unload first to get to my things. They gave me multiple boxes of someone else's clothes, which I caught on the spot, but still have someone else's chandelier. I have called to return it and no one will get back to me. They lost multiple boxes and somehow also a large beautiful armchair. I have two custom art pieces that are broken, a marble table shattered, all of my wine glasses, a broken counter stool, an entire garage storage piece is broken, cocktail glasses, multiple plates and platters, two floor lamps, and some of my clothes arrived ripped and moldy... and I just want my items back!!!
I have reached out to customer service multiple times to see if they have found my items or even called, and they just keep telling me to file a claim and deal with the insurance company and could literally care less. A few photos are attached, including the state of the boxes on arrival. If I could give 0 stars I would – horrible experience and would never recommend Safe Ship to anyone!

We are currently working with Safe Ship as broker for the interstate move of furniture/personal property for my daughter (Texas to Virginia), and it has been an absolute nightmare. We had immediate delivery date of 8/1 in estimate, and importance was repeatedly confirmed by the Safe Ship sales rep. Long story short - items picked up in Houston, Texas at noon on Saturday, July 27th, and as of late afternoon on Friday, August 2nd, they were still sitting in a warehouse a few miles from the original pick up.
After 15 or more telephone calls with their "customer service" hotline and numerous emails over the past 10 days, we cannot (a) get anything more specific than delivery at some point on or before August 13th, (b) have any discussion with a manager or even same sales rep, and (c) get anyone to return calls with more information as continually promised. The "customer service" reps are largely indifferent to our frustrations, and have been incredibly unprofessional and unresponsive.
My daughter starts classes as first year med student this week. I've put her up in a hotel for the time being, as she doesn't existing friends/support in area. Will probably have her buy sleeping bag and an air mattress for the time being in otherwise empty apartment, and some business casual close for beginning of school. When I raised these out-of-pocket expenses with Safe Ship, they were insultingly dismissive. Based on their deceptive trade practices (including fraudulent inducement by sales rep when she guaranteeing August 1 delivery as key part of pitch). Terrible experience, and still not over. I wanted to share my experience regarding our recent move from Utah to California in September. We initially scheduled with Safe Ship Moving Service, but a week before our move, we were contacted by Oasis Moving and Storage in Las Vegas, stating they were hired by Safe Ship. They arrived much later than scheduled and demanded an additional $4,000, which we had no choice but to accept.
We stored our furniture with Oasis for five months, paying $900 a month, and when we finally scheduled delivery, many items were damaged, including our TV, fire pit, grill, and tables, with water damage to the couches as if they had been left outside in the rain. We filed a complaint, but their insurance only offered $300 for damages that exceeded $9,000.
After escalating the matter to the DOT, BBB, and FMCSA, Oasis contacted us with a proposal to settle for $3,000 if we dropped the complaints, which we did. However, Oasis has failed to pay us, and now they claim that we should contact Max from Safe Ship for our payment, but he has not responded to my emails or calls. We are now pursuing legal action against both companies due to their lack of follow-through and what appears to be a scam, even after we have email confirmation with the agreement.

The week prior they confirm date range and review inventory determining that cost of the move is now 2k more... So I decide to leave some things behind but still roughly 10 k now in cost. 24 hrs prior they confirm address and movers are dispatched and I am given a time and date. However, no one comes, no calls and I can't get a hold of customer service for hours. Turns out they sent them to NC while I am waiting in TN on a specific timeline now that was confirmed 24 hrs prior. They refuse to give deposit back or offer any compensation when they dispatch an inexperienced crew (promised experienced) to a different state outside of the date window. I could have packed my small stuff myself and abandoned my large items for less grief and mental stress. I am out 5k for the deposit, so I am committed to the sinking ship.
I finally get pickup scheduled outside of date's window and 2 hrs after the NEW promised time window of the day. Customer service does not answer or call back or leaves on hold for over an hour. On day of the move my crew had no packing or padding materials materials and was 2 of the 4 men promised. The specialty boxes for paintings mirrors, wardrobe or lamps were not there despite the high cost of deposit of the itemized list. The movers have a verbal argument for most of the move and then they get in a fight with 2 other movers that were dispatched to help them so they left.
Customer service yet again does not pick up or answer or check in on me during this ordeal. This is despite a confirmed direct line with a verbal promise that she would be available should anything go wrong during the moving day. My glassware is broken immediately. Glass pictures just placed loosely together in a box. I paid for a white glove and had to step in and help pack. They left glass and trash strewn about the front of my house and the stoop for me to deal with afterwards.
Customer service continues to be unapologetic and at times defensive. For the most part they simply do not call or check in on you at all. They have your money and expect you to now communicate with the movers despite prior instruction. I paid 5k dollar deposit on a 10k service that was not rendered nor delivered. They hang up on me, do not call me back, and gaslight me as if I was supposed to have organized the "experienced" movers or packed things differently.
I am awaiting drop off now and hoping for minimal damage, but considering I watched boxes be dropped and kicked and items broken, my hopes are not high. They have told me that they are my strong advocate, I am hoping for them to pull through because it is 0% right now. Compensation so far was 300$ off the pickup for being an entire day outside a confirmed time window under 24 hrs. Hoping for a big improvement and money back in the next week with pending meetings with management.
I cannot believe this is a recommended company. Veteran-run company with a promise to look after active service member? The work done at this company is nothing to be proud of so far. I would love to amend this review if someone would please reach out and we can get some answers and real customer service and compensation back my way.

I never leave reviews, but if you are planning to use Safe Ship Moving Services MAKE SURE TO READ! If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I read that they were rated #1 in the nation, not sure how in the world they got that title. Long story short: I called for a quote a month before my move, they quoted me $7,200, so I paid a deposit. Two days before my move, they DOUBLED my estimate putting it at $14,000!!! I tried to cancel and ask for a full refund, they wouldn’t give me my large deposit back & tried to blame me for not stating how many items I had (I wish you could hear all the phone calls of me asking what exactly they needed from me). Then they talked me out of cancelling saying I’d lose all the money I already paid.
My movers were scheduled to come Friday, their truck broke down… and they moved it to Saturday at 8am. They showed up at 11:30am… When they got there I confirmed it was a full service pack, and they said “no one told us that”… so they said they had to go get all the materials. There were only two guys there. Then they showed me how much space I had to use in the truck. They said they thought I’d use more space and it would cost me even more than the estimate, and even if I used less than the allotted space, I still had to pay the full estimate! I was freaking out even more at this point and called to officially cancel. They gave me a tiny portion of my deposit back still putting me out $3,200!!!
I don’t care what they say, they screwed up so bad and stole my money. They should issue a full refund for basically trying to blackmail me into still using their services after doubling their estimate on me last minute. Unless you are fine with your estimate possibly doubling, or working with an incompetent company, DO NOT USE!!! Or make sure to list every single item you are packing even if they try to breeze over it in the initial call. Anyways, I have never been so beyond disappointed with a company.

They have everything I own and I don't know at this point if I will ever receive my things. I don't know what to do. I am so upset, I am living with zero furniture now for the last 21 days. Movers did not speak English and were not able to follow my instructions. Did not respond to calls or emails. Deliver late, several days after they promised, each day telling me it would be the next day and to stop my life and wait for them.
At one point called me at 10:45 pm (after I was in bed) stating they would be there the next day. Then called an hour later stating that since I did not call them back they would not be out the next day. Showed up at my house to deliver on a holiday with 15 family members being entertained. Refused to unload truck unless I paid them cash ahead of unload. Several thousand $ of irreparable damage to household items, including brand new furniture and irreplaceable dishes and stemware. Dropped my piano. Movers gave a bogus letter of a bogus claims company for filing damages.

Honestly I wish there were a no star option as these people deserve no credit whatsoever. Their entire process is deceptive. They low ball you on the quote and then 3 days before the move they have their “Quality Control” call to go over all the cost. When I called for an estimate I asked them to do a virtual walk through as I had done on 2 previous quotes. I was asked just to send the last quote and they would base their quote off of the other company’s quote. It wasn’t until the quality control call I realized they did not list all my items from the other company’s quote. Net result was a $7,000 increase. This allowed them to beat the other quote but 3 days before my move jack my price up way over the competitor's quote. I was on a time schedule and had no option but to pay them.
On moving day I learned they are not the actual moving company but instead just a broker. So on moving day a company called A&S packers and movers showed up and introduced themselves as the moving company. The first hurdle in dealing with this company was no one on site spoke English very well. The second hurdle was they had different payment terms than Safe Ship who I had already paid half of the now $22,000. The other half was to be paid to A&S in two installments. Half of the remaining balance before the load and have when they unload. The bigger issue was they would only accept cash for payment. I had previously been told they would take credit. I did not have an additional $11,000 in cash in my local bank and it was now Friday afternoon.
Since I now had to wire money to pay them the balance they agreed to hold a check for the 11K until my money arrived on Monday. They were supposed to unload us on Sunday by now are saying they will not unload me until my cash arrives on Monday. I had no choice but to agree. Then as the loading of the 18 wheeler for our move progressed I was asked to come out and look at the truck. The crew leader tells me the truck is full and they will need another truck to finish loading our belongings. This additional truck cost $10,600. My original quote of 14k was now $32,600. Then I get a call on Sunday night telling me I owe another 4k for redelivery fee making the total cost of my move $36,600. $22,600 more than my quote.
And what did I get for this money? A 15’ scratch in the hallway on my hardwood floors. Countless gouges in my drywall at both houses. Trash scattered all over both yards with no regard for how the left the property. They failed to reassemble several pieces of furniture as per the contract. They were rude and very disrespectful. I never felt like a customer, but more like a hostage. I know I will never get any kind of compensation for what they have done to me and my family, but if I can save 1 person from falling for their con I will be grateful.

I wish I could give this company 0 stars! Please consider OTHER moving companies. This is our story, moving from CA to MA: First of all, on the phone, they told us that if we'd like to have our stuff on June 29th, it must be loaded on June 16th. There is an uncertainty of 1 month from the "requested delivery date". Please note that they don't even try to deliver it on time! They just consider the worst-case scenario. We moved from CA to MA. All our stuff was loaded on June 16th. It's now July 16th, "1 month" since then, and our stuff is STILL in CA. When we call the company or the movers, they keep repeating that based on the contract, it can be delivered within a month of the requested delivery date. The reason we signed the contract with this company was that they told us "on the call" that if we load on June 16th, we WILL get it by June 29th!!!
* Don't sign any contract with them.
* Don't trust what you hear on the phone.
* Don't consider the possible delayed delivery on the contract as a worst-case scenario. No matter when you want the stuff, they will deliver one month later (or even worse).
* Customer service?! Calling this company, you'll talk to some robotic people who will repeat their contract and interpret it as they wish.

Safe Ship Moving Services - Deceptive and Unethical Practices. I had an extremely disappointing experience with Safe Ship Moving Services and feel compelled to warn others about their deceptive business practices. Here are the key issues I encountered: Bait-and-Switch Pricing: Initially quoted $6,000 for a cross-country move from Massachusetts to Texas. I paid a 50% deposit ($3,070.37) to secure the booking. Twenty days later, just four days before the move, they demanded an additional $6,000, doubling the total cost to $12,000. They threatened to only transport half my belongings if I didn't agree.
Forced Cancellation: Given the sudden and unaffordable price hike, I was forced to cancel their services and hire another company on short notice, causing significant inconvenience and additional costs. False Claims: Safe Ship Moving Services falsely claimed they sent a truck on moving day and that I refused the service. This is entirely untrue—no one showed up from their side, and the new movers I hired completed the job.
Misrepresentation: They misrepresented themselves as the actual movers, denying they were brokers. I was explicitly told by their representative that he would be driving the truck himself, which turned out to be a lie. Unreasonable Cancellation Policy: They are withholding my deposit, citing a cancellation policy that allows cancellations only within three days of the deposit date, despite the significant last-minute changes they made. Conclusion: Safe Ship Moving Services engages in unethical and deceptive practices that exploit customers. They caused me undue stress and financial strain. I strongly advise against using their services. There are many reputable moving companies out there—avoid Safe Ship Moving Services at all costs.

I cannot recommend this service. Our experience was awful. They bait and switch on the pricing and hire inexperienced packers. I was originally quoted around $25K for a cross country move. Five days before moving day, I was told that my actual cost had increased to $36K. Approximately an $11K increase. I was told that I could cancel.... but really? I had booked this several months in advance. Who could I find five days before my buyers were scheduled to move in.
I had paid extra for "White Glove Service". That is a joke. The kids who showed up to pack were, very nice, but woefully inexperienced. I was promised 6 or 7 packers, but only 4 showed up.... a day late. Only one spoke broken english. There was no supervisor until 7:00 PM. They arrived at 8:00 AM. They were still packing at 2:00 AM the next morning. They used packing tape around lose items in boxes to keep them from moving around. When the tape was removed, it left a sticky brown residue on hundreds of my things. We are using Goo Gone by the gallon.
The group on the other end was more experienced and the unload went much smoother. There were six workers and a very helpful supervisor. However the whole experience left a very bad taste in my mouth. After it was all over, I asked my initial contact to have a senior manager call me. I left messages twice. No one ever called me back. These people lie to you and raise the price once you can go nowhere else. Do not use them.

It was such a big red flag I ended the call and googled their online reviews and found the terrible rating on this site. Another big red flag is that deposit for booking their service is half of what they quote (couple of thousands of dollars), while the other service we used before only asking 10% of the total quote. Zac informed me that the entire contents of my home is only worth $10,000 payout if my stuff is lost, stolen, damaged etc... Once they had my money, they utterly ignored me. When I ask pointed questions like, "on what date did you receive my complaint?" I am literally told that they "do not recall that." What?? Do not book with Safe Ship Moving unless you have a very detailed list of everything you’ll be moving at the time of getting your quote. We booked a truck with them in February for a move in July. At that time I did not know exactly what we’d be needing to move, which I made clear on the phone. I told him my guesses of things we’d need to bring and he said he’d estimate “plenty of space” for us and if we didn’t use it all we’d even get some money back. There were also a lot of aggressive sales comments like “Well don’t you care about your things, wouldn’t you want them in a temperature controlled truck?” He put a lot of pressure on me to book in advance to lock in rates and secure a truck and whatnot, so I did. With a $1900 deposit.
There was no communication until our finalization phone call, 3 days before the moving truck was supposed to be here. We gave them a detailed list of all our stuff on that phone call and they said we’d need double the space that they estimated, which would double the price. We don’t want to spend $10k to move, so we cancelled their services. They will not refund any of the $1900 deposit. And here we are, 2 days before our move, booking a different company to get us from Utah to Pennsylvania.
I wonder how often this happens - they significantly lowball the amount of space needed, collect a non refundable deposit, then 3 days before the move double the price. I talked to a manager today and he said he wouldn’t recommend trying to get the deposit back, but the best he could do would be to credit our $1900 towards any move with them that happens in the next 5 years. We will not be moving with them in the next 5 years because of how sketchy/scammy all of this has felt to me.

Their representatives were somewhat kind, but very inconsistent, confusing, and impatient at times. After signing paperwork, I decided to google Safe Ship Moving, only to find that they have countless 1 star reviews from people who have been traumatized by their dishonesty. Do not use Safe SHip Moving Services & Just Pro Moving Company for your moving needs! It is a damn shame that companies such as these are allowed to operate in the United States! They are scammers/ con artists/deceitful & plain crooks! We had the misfortune to use them for our recent move. When we first contacted them on May 21st, we were given an estimate for facilitating the move (approx. one-hour distance) for the amount of $2,856.99 with a down payment of $1,313.79 which we paid.
They called 2 days before the move according to them to confirm the household items that needed to be moved to the new location. Alexander ** their rep stated they had a lesser number of items and because of that, the amount we needed to pay would be double than the original amount, which meant the amount we had to pay them would be a new total of $5,307.12. We felt we had no choice but to pay that amount since our move was only 2 days ahead, so we paid another $1,225.00 that they requested and the rest was to be paid once our household items and furniture was delivered to the new home.
But once the movers showed up at to load our furniture and household goods, they started telling us that we only had 895 cubic feet of space and that they do not go by items, they go by cubic feet ( which was never mentioned before) & therefore only the furniture, 2 complete bedroom sets, a complete living room, consisting of sofa, love seat, 3 end tables, one center table, 2 accent chairs, and solid wood tv stand, a complete dining set (6 chairs), were the only thing that fit in the 895 cubic feet they kept talking about.
Their moving truck was 85% full by the time they reached our home, they had another customer or customer's household goods already. When they reached our final destination, the movers demanded $2,768.33 that according to them was the rest of the money to total the $5,307.99. When we told them we will pay them once all the items we agreed in the contract (furniture, boxes, & misc items) were delivered, they would get their money. They refused to unload our furniture and or agree to go back to the original location to retrieve the rest of our household goods. We called police but since the issue is a civil matter, the police was unable to force them to unload what was already in their truck, so they took all our furniture and our money as well. Please do not fall for those crooks, scoundresl and thieves. Do your homework and read the reviews. We failed to do it and it cost us dearly.

My question was about their business practices and the response was about their policy. They can guarantee pickup if you pay, but can't guarantee delivery. The virtual walkthrough is a joke, nonqualified people are "calculating" how much space you need, and when the truck shows up it's not nearly enough space. Then the movers try to get you to buy more space on the truck. It was a horrible experience all around!!! Do yourself a favor and go with a major carrier, overall you'll save money and peace of mind.

They do not provide you good guidance on what your inventory should be until a few days before your move when they give you a list of things you need to provide on inventory and then inflate the price once again, which is at the point you are in a bind because you have to move within days. I was told two trucks were needed and almost received an additional charge 2x my original although I was not adding 2x additional space. The moving companies used came with only one truck and could not complete my move in the required time, plus added additional fees for packaging supplies. Many things were broken! My advice is please avoid this company at all cost!

Then all of a sudden my items were not allowed to be moved from the truck, after arriving later than the estimated shipping date, unless I paid cash - to which they tacked on another cost. My items were damaged, destroyed, dented and scratched; I ended up throwing many items away. When I called to complain, they referred me to another disreputable company to file a claim against the movers and completely removing themselves from the equation. I was looking for a (preferably veteran owned) moving company to move us from Virginia to Florida. I unfortunately found Safe Ship Moving. I should have looked at BBB, this site, etc., first. My fault for not doing so. Things started off very nicely. I filled out an online request, and almost immediately got a call back. The gentleman who took the call was very nice. I told him we closed on both our house for sale and new house on the 13th of June, and needed to be out by the 12th, and wanted our shipment in Florida around the 14th of June. He told me this was Absolutely No Problem.
He explained that the movers would come on the 11th to pack up everything, return on the 12th to load it on a truck, and would deliver it on the 14th as expected. He explained they had a simple process for estimating the size of our shipment. He accessed the listing for our house sale, and using the listing pictures, we walked through each room. He pointed out each of the major furniture items, noted them, asked me questions about them, and said he was estimating the rest based on the size of the rooms, number of closets, etc.
The estimate for the move was (again based on his methodology) somewhere around $6k total. Gave a $1k military discount. Sent over the estimate for signature and a downpayment. Said the rest would be 1/2 at pickup ($1700.00) and 1/2 at delivery ($1700.00). Sounds good, right? Contract had things like "estimated delivery times, 1-10 business days" for our distance. Of course one glances through the contract to see if everything looks good, etc. and at first glance it did.
Along comes 3 days before the move (and several days past the "oh God I screwed up and booked with these people" cancellation window, we get a call from SafeShip's team to "verify our shipping estimate" which I thought was good because their agent did a walkthrough WITH PICTURES! of our house and went through everything, right? Wrong. This guy wants another walkthrough. I explained that his agent did so with pictures of all of the rooms with a walkthrough of our online listing, so it should have captured everything.
He starts having me do another complete walkthrough, (after telling me that they would have to review the recording of the interaction and punish the person for not following their procedure) and it was a total bait and switch. Oh, you have hanging wall pictures and paintings? How many pictures? (even though they were in the photos reviewed by the first guy). You have END Tables? Lamps? a cat robot? a toolbox? Heaven forbid.
At the end of the process, suddenly our load sized practically doubled. And so did the price. Now I owed even MORE money for the estimate (now $5kmore), and the packout/delivery split jumped up to almost $3000 on each end. "Oh you don't like that? Well, you're past your 3 day cancellation window. You owe us the over $3k you put down if you cancel. Sorry our representative didn't tell you that at the outset. Why didn't you read your contract?" So after getting shafted on even more money (and now being up to almost $13k for the move, we get to the packout.
I get a text a couple of days later saying the movers (they contracted with Moving Man Movers out of Baltimore MD) would be there between 9 and 11 am on the 12th. Keep in mind their original guy said that they would pack everything up on the 11th and come back to put it on the truck on the 12th. They didn't show up at 9am. They didn't even show up at 11AM. They showed at a couple of minutes before noon. And, they STAYED until almost 11PM. They didn't even put the first item on the truck until after 9PM. And that isn't the worst part.
You see, it seems that Safe Ship uses one box size (small and medium boxes like you'd get at a moving company) whereas that didn't mean anything to these guys. And they estimated that it would take 1700CF to move our stuff, not the 1300CF that we paid for, because they use a different box size and estimating method. So NOW our packout is up to $3900 on each end. Meanwhile I had tried to clarify before they even showed with SafeShip my estimate details, and they told me any last minute changes would be handled by "their foreman on site" who was the Moving Man Movers guy. And he used exactly as many boxes as they estimated before putting anything even in the first box...imagine that. Some of the boxes only weighed about a pound or two more than the box did empty to get to that number. An entire wardrobe box weighed about 3 pounds, one of several like that. You can't watch 5 people on 3 floors diligently, after all.
So the mover's left. The last thing he said was "you don't really expect this stuff in Florida by the 14th do you? We have 15 business days to get it there." So today is the 5th of July. I've called 3 times over the last 3 weeks, and I get various answers. "The flooding in South Florida is causing delays" (even though we aren't in South Florida). "Your shipment is on a truck with several other people's shipments, and they are making the rounds to deliver them." "We actually have 30 days to deliver you stuff per the DOT" (not even remotely true). "The stuff is on the way, it was supposed to be there but they had a short delay." Meanwhile (after getting those answers), last Friday (the 28th of June), the AirTag I have in one of my items in the truck FINALLY checked in because somebody got close enough to it with an iPhone for it to ping. Guess what? As of LAST Friday, it is still in Kensington, MD where they took it the night they left our house.
IOW, at least a week has gone by and as of last report it has been sitting in their facility in Maryland, not moving around the state of Florida in line to be delivered. And we still haven't heard anything from them about when we might get our shipment. Safe Ship washes their hands of everything as the broker, and says Moving Man will get in touch with you with a delivery date. I'm writing this from an empty house, 3 weeks after this company picked up our stuff, at a plastic folding table.

The initial quote and online reviews seemed positive. We started getting nervous when our two day window for pick up was the on the last day. The movers were supposed to call us an hour before arrival. They actually called us 20 minutes before showing up. They walked through the house and quoted us 150% increase in what we would owe. Safe Ship was unavailable until 10am and at 7:30 we felt backed into a corner since we needed to move. Safe ship contacted us the next day to find out why our pick up more than doubled. They said they would contact the subcontractor's owner and get back to us. It took four days.
We were taken by surprise since we’ve moved 10 times and have had the least amount of furniture to date. The movers packed light boxes since they were paid by the box and cubic foot. They also had a U-Haul truck ready to go before showing up with packing materials. There was no packing material aside from blankets in the truck they arrived in. The movers packed the last of our furniture on the outside of the truck on the loading lift. They dropped our recliner chair and didn’t finish until 11:50 pm. It was a horrendous unprofessional experience. The movers that were subcontracted were All Together Movers from Clifton NJ. Absolute nightmare. Do not use safe ship! Do not use All together movers! Our pick up cost jumped from 4,000 to 8,800. Drop off cost also 8,800! Unbelievable

Safe Ship Moving Services should be shut down. The shell game they play is unprofessional and borderline criminal. I was given a quote for our move ($7995) from Redding Ca to Littleton Co only to have that quote increase by $4300. I was told that after the Quality Control review it was determined that my household goods would not fit in a standard 26’ truck. We would now require two 26” trucks or an 18-wheeler. On the day the movers showed up, guess what size truck they brought? That’s right, a 26’ truck. My household goods not only fit, but there was extra room on it. I asked the driver to include a few Costco totes to which he refused.
I’ve called Safe Ship Moving Services on numerous occasions, from the minute the movers showed up telling me what they would and wouldn’t do to current day only to find them incredibly condescending and rude. I’m now told they are only the broker and all of my concerns, questions should now be directed to the unprofessional moving company they sent out from Los Angeles (Rigo’s Delivery Moving & Storage). Safe Ship Moving Services promised a 2-12 day delivery of our goods from our first available delivery date which was determined to be June 9th. As I write this review (June 22nd) we still have no delivery date and are now being told Rigo’s has up to 30 days to deliver.
I’ve never been so dissatisfied with a service that cost so much money. Zero accountability or concern from either company. From the minute we provided the required deposit the level of professionalism and honesty went downhill, and fast. I was upsold the minute the movers arrived as there were three items they claimed had to be specially packed at a tune of $350. I had no choice of course. I will ensure my story is shared wherever possible.
These company needs to be held accountable. They cannot be allowed to rip off any additional consumers. They need to also review the moving companies they do business with. Rigo’s has been terrible to work with. The pickup driver was completely unprofessional and was very disrespectful. From the minute he arrived to the 30 mentions of how he gets tips. Two of the four movers Rigo’s sent were incredibly hard workers. As we wait for our delivery I can only imagine the added costs we will see for delivery. I’m 100% confident there will be excuse after excuse as to why there are additional fees. I would NOT Recommend either company for any of your moving needs. The shell game that includes all of these hidden fees needs to stop here.
Follow-Up: My household goods finally arrived on June 25th. The Colorado crew Rigo’s subcontracted with worked very hard to get my goods off the truck. We have several broken pieces of furniture, we’ve lost the poles to our shelving unit but are glad to finally have our stuff. Be aware of both companies if you are moving.

Our initial call was great, we told them the specifics of our cross country move and were told it was ‘not an issue at all’…but yet, there were so many issues - we were quoted a pretty decent price initially, when we called to review the number of times we ended up with - the guy sped through everything and tried to say we owed them $2000 more dollars, we did add a washer/dryer but didn’t understand how this equated to only removing $200 from the new price if we decided not to take them ($2000 extra but we remove the 2 biggest/bulkiest items and it only saves $200??), my husband ended up having to step in and ask him to show down and explain where the difference was coming from - the customer service just went down hill from then!
We initially told them we needed a specific date to which we were told ‘no problem’ but when revisiting this we were told we would have to pay and additional $150 to guarantee that time…we chose not to but the movers still came at the time we requested so we saved ourselves $150. When pick up day came, they said we needed to use the whole truck instead of just the footage we reserved, our stuff wouldn’t have filled a whole truck but since we didn’t have the option to not pay for it at that point, we just ate the cost and ended up putting some of the stuff that was marked to be driven by us in the truck to fill up the whole truck (still not even a full truck but we sure paid for it).
Delivery was scheduled for 7/1- we were very clear with this is when we needed it, it was confirmed by this company and the movers —we received our stuff 7/3, we had to basically help unload 1/2 of it and unwrap everything —they left trash (plastic, water bottles, food wrappers) in my grandma’s driveway when they left…Our bill needed up being double what was initially quoted (and we are talking 16-20k total!). Had we known about all the additional costs and the fact that we would basically have to help unpack it anyway, we would have gone the cheaper route and done it ourselves. In trying to lessen our stress, we just ended up adding to it more. I do not recommend this company or really any moving company that nickels and downs you once you’ve signed the initial contract.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. They initially quoted me for household and motorcycle shipment from RI to WA and the price was reasonable. The week before the movers were scheduled to pick up household goods, I had to reach out to them for a final review of items. They then doubled my down payment, increased the estimate substantially, and informed me that the bike was not included in the total cost and I would be paying separately for that. They informed me that their salesman would lose commission for giving a bad estimate but that didn’t help me financially at all. They then assured me that the pick up date for household and bike would be in the same timeframe. My hands were tied because of the sale of my house, so I had no choice but to use them. The movers then came and, again, increased the price and stated that Safe Ship Moving often misleads people on their total estimate.
Thousands more dollars later, my items were packed up but I had to leave behind furniture to cut cost. The movers were kind, understanding and informed me that they will make sure my items are delivered within the 30 day timeframe to avoid storage fees to the best of their ability. I reached out to Safe Ship multiple times and have been ignored. No one showed up or reached out to pick up the motorcycle and when I finally got ahold of someone, he wanted to charge me an absurd amount of money. I then got the name of the company they’re working with for auto transport and am now working directly with them. I strongly recommend to avoid these scammers at all cost! They target military families, so all military personnel or veterans beware! Don’t go through third party brokers if you don’t have to. They’re taking your money to connect with the same movers you can directly connect with and save thousands of dollars.

This company is a classic bait and switch. They under quote and overcharge you once everything is loaded. The third party they sent charged us an additional $5k after loading every and anything despite telling them what not to pack. I can’t recommend this company to my worst enemy because of the astronomical cost differential between their quote vs. actual cost. Again, everyone was nice enough but the company is predatory. This company claims to be Veteran friendly but exploits you after they have possession of your belongings.

On 5/22/2024 I discussed my moving needs via phone with Chad ** of Safe Ship Moving Services. We went through a detailed inventory of my home including reviewing photographs of our furniture and he estimated $9,700.00 to move my belongings from Thornton, CO to Lino Lakes, MN on 6/21/2024. I then expressed concern with cost because I couldn't afford to pay any more than what he quoted me. He assured me that with our thorough inventory there would no be any surprise costs moving forward and that "if anything, the cost will go down." He also said there was a price match guarantee for veterans (my husband is army). He assured me I could call him any time to discuss concerns or price. This is the type of customer service I was looking for in a mover so I decided to move forward.
He had me pay $4777.90 as a deposit by credit card at that time. He also told me to open my email and click on some forms he sent over. He did not say what they were or the details but said I needed to click on them to move forward. I found out after the fact that the clicking signed my name to a contract saying the deposit could not be refunded.
On 6/19/2024 (2 days prior to the move), I was contacted by a different employee of Safe Ship. He reviewed my inventory, which had decreased since we sold a lot of large items including grill, lawn mower, snow blower and air compressor. He told me that the price to move my items would be $19,000 and asked for an additional deposit. I told him that was not feasible and he said he could discount it to 14,583.60. When I asked to see a copy of the original inventory for comparison he said it no longer existed in their system.
When I asked to speak to Chad ** he told me there was no way to contact him as he only handles sales. When I brought up the price match guarantee for veterans he said there was no time for them to review other estimates I had received because I needed to finalize the move details right then. I canceled my services and asked for a refund of my deposit. I sent an email to the company CC Chad ** stating the same.
I spoke to a customer service representative Kari (would not give last name) on 6/20 to discuss a refund. She said she was not authorized to do so. I asked to be transferred to a manager or someone that had authorization; she said she could not do that and I could only speak to her. Later in the day I received a call from Tom ** who told me the inventory had been done incorrectly and he could decrease the moving price further for me. I had already made other moving arrangements so I said I just wanted my deposit back. He said he was not authorized to do so but would have someone else call me. I never received a call.

I initiated a service with Safe Ship Moving services, to relocate household goods from Florida to Maryland. Amount of goods was equivalent to the items needed for a one-bedroom apartment. Our needs as expressed on the day we agreed was that delivery was needed on 6/24/24 and we were flexible on the pick-up date. The day we were contacted to schedule the pick-up, we were told the delivery would be sometime after the 24th of June. Safe Ship is the broker of the move (they do not move anything). Safe Bound is the shipper who accepted the job (making the move). Timeline of discussions on 6/14/24.
• Received a call from Safe Bound Moving company (the shipper) to schedule pick-up of household goods on 6/17/24. • During this discussion and through questioning, I came to understand that the delivery date could not be confirmed to be 6/24/24. • I emphasized the need for the delivery to be on 6/24/24 and they gave me the number for Safe Ship (the broker) and directed me to talk to them.
10:48• I called Safe Ship and explained my concern. • Safe Ship said they would call Safe Bound and try to get some answers/resolution and return a call to explain. • Never received a call back.
10:58• I called Safe Ship to determine what could be done to resolve the issue. • Spoke with Savanah from Safe Ship. • I suggested that if they can’t deliver on the date I needed, then they should refund my deposit and cancel the move. • Savanah stated some clause in the contract about 72 hours after I paid was my only cancellation period. • I mentioned that when I had the initial discussion and paid the deposit, the delivery date would be 6/24/24, and because now Safe Bound can’t or wouldn’t deliver on that date I should be refunded. • I was told Safe Ship would review the records from the discussion and call me back. • Never received a call back.
17:04• I called Safe Ship. • Explained the issue again. • Person on the line re-iterated the refund policy. (Several times.) • After I explained that I could not be there after the 24th to receive goods, this representative reached out to Safe Bound. • It was determined that Safe Bound were so busy, they would not be able to deliver on the 6/24/2024. • This agent had a suggestion that we put the house goods in storage until another day we are available to receive them. • I asked to speak with the manager.
• Kari (the Safe Ship Manager) got on the line. • We went back and forth several times trying to explain our points of view on the issue. • I was then told that if I pay a special fee of $1.50 per mile or about $1200.00 then they would be able to deliver on 6/24/24. • I then challenged that if they can deliver on the 24th for this extra payment, then why can’t they deliver on the 24th as discussed when I first made arrangements? • Was told, “that’s not how it works”. • Asked if I re-arrange my schedule to be there on a date they can deliver? Was told they can’t determine when a delivery would occur, just that it would be within a 10-day window. • I challenged, that is not how any of my previous 6 relocation have ever gone. I have always asked for a delivery date and items were delivered on that date.
• This is when the conversation became heated, and Kari started talking over me and being rude. Repeatedly asking if I wanted to forfeit the refund and cancel the move. Kari stated I needed to sign another contract to force me to cancel the move. When I stated that I did not want to sign any more contracts from Safe Ship, Kari became belligerent and kept repeating “Do you want to cancel” about 20 times and not listening to my concerns and questions. Kari then proceeded to tell me that she will take a verbal confirmation of cancellation for the move. Kari then hung up on me.Timeline of discussions on 6/15/2024.
• The following day I received a call at 5:55 pm, from a Safe Ship employee, Sally telling me that I need to sign the contract in the email to confirm my cancellation. This is the first time I was told about the email. That is the only thing she said during this conversation even with me asking questions about what this contract is and how to make sure I get a refund for their failure and deception. • I received one final call at 7:04 pm that night about the move and canceling the move even though I mentioned earlier in the day that I would sign it when I got home from my busy day. However, with that being said, I hadn’t noticed my phone failed to properly hang up and it seemed that they also failed to hang up because by the 8-minute my family and I heard the phone switch over to holding music.
Summary:Safe Ship Moving Services will pull the good old bait-n-switch to get your business. The Salespeople will ask when you want your stuff delivered and make it seem great like everything meets your needs. Then the movers will call to confirm the delivery date which won’t be what you had planned to then be referred to Safe Ship who will extort you for additional money to maintain your original moving arrangements. In the end, they broke me down into signing a document I did not want to sign in order to not have a shipper show up to my house.
Overall, we believe Safe Bound was acting with the information they were provided from Safe Ship and that is all they can do. This is about Safe Ship and their lack of communication, scheduling, and customer service. Through the Safe Ship 7 employees I talked with there was a lack of positive and respectful customer service. Caution, use a high level of caution before you proceed with any kind of business with this company.

I am so glad I made it out with only forever nightmares and a few broken pictures and an inflated expense for a huge mess of a move. My sales guy said: "Don't confuse my enthusiasm for Safe Ship for an aggressive sales push." I am not confused at all. DO NOT USE SAFE SHIP!!! They’re a scam and they’re doing it cleverly enough that they “fly under the radar” so to not be investigated. We were up-charged two times after our initial “quote”, which seems to be the case for most reviews on this forum. Our truck was a day late, which we found out one day before pickup. Cost increased when they for to our house. On the phone they told us to leave our lamps unboxed because they would wrap them. When they got to our house they said that they were charging us $20/lamp to box them.
Once the truck was loaded with our belongings, they informed my husband that our delivery date would be nowhere near what we were promised in our quote. However, by this time we were stuck, obviously. Now we’re across the country in our new home and have no idea where our belongings are. Heirlooms, gifts, and special items are floating around the US somewhere and we cannot do a thing about it! Not to mention my husband and I start back to work in a couple of days and don’t have the materials and clothing we need! It sickens me that “businesses” like this exist; how awful it is to know that people like this exist. To take advantage of individuals and families during such a vulnerable time in their lives such as relocating…heartless.

The floor supervisor keep me on the phone for about 20-30 mins trying to win back my business. I felt like they were badgering me and not letting me cancel the move.
I was then transferred to their cancellation department, and the gentlemen asked me why I wanted to cancel, and I told him it was because of the significant amount of bad reviews I read about the company, and he said he had to talk to his supervisor. I was then placed on hold for about 15 mins, and the man came back on the line and said that they will finally cancel my move. I was then placed back on hold for another maybe 10-15 mins, and they finally processed the cancellation.

DO NOT HIRE SAFESHIP MOVING!!!! Awful experience. Quoted $4000 moving from Maine to Texas. Had zero large furniture other than an outdoor patio set. Jennifer ** guaranteed our stuff would arrive to our residence June 11th. Then once they tallied our stuff, they said we had way more stuff than we originally stated, and increased our price by over $2000. Of course they wait to do this until 2 days before the movers come to take your stuff, so your back is against the wall and you have no choice but to pay the money. With the big move, we had no choice and we had already invested money into the move. Then the movers came, to my surprise they were a 3rd party company called ABC MOVERS. Once they arrived, they tried to tell me that we had even more stuff than what we told them which simply wasn’t true, and they tried to charge an additional $1,000.
Fast forward to today, our stuff has still not arrived and it has been nearly impossible to get in contact with Safe Ship reps to see where our stuff is. Also, ABC Movers doesn’t have the correct phone number on the paperwork they give you once they’ve picked up your stuff (it’s an insurance company's phone number) and I haven’t been able to find their phone number online. After days of trying to reach someone useful from Safe Ship we have been unsuccessful and when we have gotten in touch with a “manager” they haven’t been any help. Hiring movers instead of doing it yourself is supposed to make the long distance moving process easier and less stressful, but this experience has been anything but that. Changed the pricing on us 2 days before moving. Lady said she needed an itemized list of hundreds of items. Was told we needed a “FULL” 12 x 28 box. They left their big boxes of garbage on the load and said they couldn’t load anymore forcing us to leave items behind. (found the garbage on unwrapping items as it was sent with us)
Moved our belongings 3 times to three different locations. Broke multiple items. Boxes marked heavy were on top of dishes marked fragile. They did not care at all. Just wanted to load and unload as fast as they could as the more time spent paying workers, the less profit. We are missing many items including boxed alcohol. And several item of furniture. They sent us multiple emails asking how they did at moving us and we hadn’t even gotten our belongings yet. Person called and left a message to ask how they did, when I called her back (Jayne I believe) she asked me “what do you want?” This was at their headquarters!
Changed the date on us from a Monday to a late Sunday night. We looked for a way to pay them electronically on arrival as it was Sunday night (no banks are open.) If they had followed their original plan they would have gotten the $ that Monday morning by MO or cashiers. Driver said he had to be somewhere else Monday morning and if the didn’t get paid (at 2100 at night) he would have to take the load to town and we would have to pay $2000 more. Unload crew didn’t show up and driver and his assistant had to unload. They left hundreds of shipping blankets we did not want or need along with pallets. Driver then said it was customary to get a tip. Even though we were told Monday morning, he didn’t finish til midnight and still felt he deserved a tip for his bad planning and was angry his unloading crew did not show up.
What a waste of money. Could have moved it for $6000 myself. Spent $14,000 on these guys. I am sorry for the Vets that work for this company as I chose them based on Vet owned. Do NOT use this company. They are scam artists who continue to ask for more money on the day of the move when you have no other option. They arrived an hour later than the 4 hour window we were given. We told them exactly what we wanted moved ahead of time. At 10pm on the day of the move after they moved the smaller stuff they told us they would not be moving the 2 beds they agreed to move (really 3) and the kitchen table in our original quote unless we paid more money. Their tactic is to get you into a situation where you have no choice but to pay more or your belongings are left behind. Luckily we had other options but in different circumstances I can see people paying because they have no choice. They claim the third party mover is the issue but I suspect there is no third party. I have never had a worse experience with a moving company, or any company as a matter of fact, than I did with them.

The company initially gave me a quote of $3384.54 to move a 1000 sq ft one person living there, 2-bedroom apartment, no appliances and I would be moving my own personal items such as clothes etc. Myself via SUV. The items Safe Ship actually moved, fit into a 10x15 storage with plenty of extra room. I asked if there were any hidden fees or possible increases on the day of the initial quote and was told no. 3 days prior to moving, the price was increased to $5525.54 and a third time the day of the move. I paid a total of $6,835.53 when the move was completed which was more than double the initial quote.
I did reach out to this company and after multiple emails along with a phone call, I was offered $200 which is an insult. Safe Shipping Moving Services takes advantage of people who obviously must move for one reason or another. Their style is to lowball at the beginning, then hike up the price at the end when you’re at a point where you're forced to move and pay their ridiculous amount. Shame on the owner and upper management for allowing this to happen or supporting this type of business ethics. I'm sure Karma will find you. Expect zero customer service and being upcharged every single step of the process. They will speed you through a quote that ends up being inaccurate. They will refuse to update your inventory prior to pick up. You will then be charged $1300 from Next Relocation the moving company they broker you out to on day of delivery. That company will miss your moving deadline and contract you out to a 3rd moving company who will hide damaged furniture behind boxes and shrubs.
The 3rd contracted moving company hired by the second will charge you an additional $1300 because they drove an 18 wheeler and not the 26 foot moving truck you originally were quoted from. They will also refused to give you any information about affiliation. This unknown company will give you an option of renting a UHaul yourself to carry your own furniture from their 18 wheeler to your property all while you take care of your three kids with special needs. If I could give them a zero I would. They give you an EXCELLENT quote and promise great service. Then, they take your deposit and only then do they inform you that they don't ship your belongings themselves. They use third party contractors. They also don't tell you that the third party contractors can feel free to charge you whatever they want once they get to your house and put your stuff on their truck. If you refuse to pay at that point, they will gladly remove your items from the truck, but you lose your deposit (usually a couple thousand dollars). Then you'll be informed that the quote for the other end (when they deliver) will be even more. Your belongings are basically held hostage until you pay them what they want!
All in all, the move ended up costing almost three times the amount originally quoted. And, to top it all off, there was a LOT of damage to multiple items. Like, big, expensive stuff (washer, dryer, dresser, etc.) Now, after all this, they say they're not responsible for the price gouging or the damages. That you have to take that up with the contractors. Hindsight being 20/20, getting a POD or a UHAUL container would've been the much better option. Save your money and a lot of stress and choose someone else!

Safe Ship moving company was terrible for me and my wife. We moved April to the beginning of May. They did all of the tactics, The salesman Tyler L just blatantly lied. He told me when I was about to sign. I saw that you could only get a refund within 3 days So I was deciding not to sign but then he told me "We don't want to keep peoples money" and said, "As long as it is not a week before your move we will give you your money back." Me being young and not knowing any better I took him at his word, Which was a big mistake because then I tried to cancel and let's just say they bent me over. I either had to forfeit the money I gave them which was close to 40% of the total cost of the move. Which I honestly should have done, because 3 days before pick up they went over the cost again and for me to keep things at the same price I had to remove half of my things.
Then the worst part of all of this I didn't read the contract fully on the insure because I was like, "Oh they are professionals. Everything should be fine." Wrong. They said that they do full premium packing which we chose to do because it was only $150 more. This was also a huge mistake they failed to wrap my mattress. It was delivered absolutely disgusting. They also say that they cannot move perishables but somehow while I was helping the other mover the one in my kitchen supposed to be wrapping and moving my plates and cups and little appliances ended up filling a full box of food.
I have pictures but he put in chocolate bars chocolate chips, Open boxes of pancake mix. So I would run as far away as possible from this company. They honestly in my opinion should not be allowed to do business. Also I know stuff happens but they did put a hole in my wall because they don't carry your stuff out of your house they slide it down the stairs.

Do not use SafeShip!!!! The worst service. They doubled our price after hooking us up with a moving company that brought the wrong size truck. Had over a month to find someone to ship our car and we still do not have it. Boxes marked fragile were packed on the bottom of heavy boxes. Even found footprints on boxes that had been walked on. The sales people and service people do not speak to each other so every time you call there's a different answer for the same questions. My boyfriend has a broken leg so we needed a company that would put boxes in the rooms as they were labeled. Movers got here and said they didn't do that. All boxes dumped in one room. SafeShip brokered this move, took our $16k and dipped. Hire local movers yourself. This company in no way will help make your move easier.

Bait & Switch and deceptive business practice. Get quoted a binding contract with items listed. Load 1/2 of listed items and demand another $425 to load rest because moving company obviously contracted out to someone else and not forthright about items and wrote less cubic feet down than needed despite item list. Then delays on delivery with barely any notice.
Hard to reach SafeShip and over 20 calls later. Then suddenly get texted day before delivery about more upcharges of $75 per 7 steps of flight if there are stairs despite them being told it's a second floor move. Then constant delays hours before arrival again and again. The company did not do their due diligence and did not do a route check and can't get it delivered and now charging extra $350 for box truck shuttle delivery on our dime in order to get items. This is after being originally quoted $3100 to move a 10 by 12 bedroom across state lines. The cost has gone up to $4264 as of now! Do not use SafeShip! In Jan 2024, I signed a contract for my move out of state to take place in late April 2024 with a total cost of $3,950. Three days prior to my April move date, Safe Ship Moving called to tell me there had been a mistake with their quote and that the cost for my move had almost doubled; with the new quote being almost $7,000. I'm retired, so this was a hardship on my budget. I was told by their representative that I had to pay the balance in full or they would cancel the scheduled move. With three days before the move date, I had already cancelled my rental agreement, so I had no choice but to pay. The worst part is this company doesn't actually do any of the work themselves, instead they contract out every part of the job, so they can then put the blame on the contractors and avoid all responsibility.
On the day of the move, the packing team and the actual movers each tried to get additional cash amounts from me, claiming that it was part of the service fee. When I told them I would need to call the main office to inquire about this additional service fee, both teams told me "not to worry about it" and that they wouldn't charge me. I was very put off by this and it felt very dishonest, like a scam to get more money out of clients. The moving process was horrendous and unprofessional. Items were packed without care or organization. Belongings were left in dressers and drawers and the furniture pieces were poorly wrapped in moving blankets. My items were haphazardly placed in cardboard boxes with none of them labeled.
Unfortunately, I wasn't surprised when items arrived broken and furniture pieces damaged. I paid for their Full-Package Service, which was supposed to provide insurance against damaged or lost items and ensure my belongings would be shipped directly and not share space with another client, however, my items were split and arrived in two different shipments. Now, weeks later, some items are still missing and at this point, I have little hope of retrieving them because the office has stopped answering my emails and phone calls.

Absolute Hell. This is the first review I am ever writing in my life - and I only do so to hope that somebody out there reads it, and does not make the same mistake I did. They overcharge, stole some of our boxes, showed up 3 days too early (4 AM in the morning to be precise), and delivered 30 days too late. They also do not own up to any responsibility, because they actually are just brokers. They put the blame on the actual shipping company, who then does the same to Safe Ship Moving. They had a very very slimey sales guy Mike - who REFUSED to pick up OR answer a text or email once we ran into issues. He was very slick and helpful and wonderful BEFORE we signed the contract of course, then disappeared.
This is an elaborate con, and I would hate to see other people get scammed too. Beware - most of the "positive" reviews are just members of the team trying to put something on so that they can continue scamming others. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH (Including YouTube videos - people hate them so much they go through the trouble of making videos warning others....).

Working with Safe Ship has made my cross-country move so much more frustrating and expensive than necessary. I would not recommend this company at all. They do not provide accurate information on shipping timelines and boast that communication is transparent and accessible at every part of the move when that is not the case at all. The initial quote provided does not account for the nickel and diming that occurs when the movers actually show up to move up your stuff, at which point you do not have the ability to back out of your contract. Don’t fall for the initial reasonable quote presented in your sales call (which is also incredibly pushy, especially for such an expensive decision) because it ended up costing me about $1000 more than what was initially quoted when signing my contract.

When the movers came to pick up my belongings, they told me that a big tractor trailer will be delivering on my belongs to final destination. The broker never instructed the movers of this. They quote you and take your deposit (3 day cancelation window, as if your booking movers 3 days before a move?) then wait until 2-3 days before the move and double the price on you (can't cancel because you put the deposit down a month or two ago)! No time to find new movers. They claim it's because "you added more inventory" but what they really do is leave items off the original quote (They left off 64 boxes. They included zero boxes, as if we wouldn't have boxes??). They also make sure to change your sales rep so they can say, "yeah, I'm sorry the other guy messed up, but it is what it is. That's the price." Then when you ask for the phone recording to prove them wrong they refuse and ask for a court order. That phone recording would show that the rep and I agreed and he confirmed the price included 64 boxes!!!!

We called this company without realizing that they are "brokers" not actual movers. The representative was very friendly and he quoted a price based on what we described on the phone as our things to move. When we agreed, we had to pay almost 50% of the estimate as a deposit on the spot. A few days before our move, we were asked by Safe Ship to provide a more detailed inventory. When we did that as best as we could, the estimated price went up substantially. They said both the number of items and the volume were much more than the initial estimates. They wanted more money to be paid on the spot, and we did.
On moving day, All Together Movers arrived with a partially empty unmarked truck and an empty U-Haul truck. The moving team was 3 men who struggled mightily loading the trucks, and struggled even more at unloading. At the end of the move, the crew chief showed us some numbers on a Post-It note, and said we owed them more than 6 thousand dollars, in cash. He said our belongings were much more than the last estimate.
Since the precise quantity of the inventory was so critical to the cost, why did Safe Ship or the movers fail to send somebody at the beginning to make a detailed estimate? All told, our within-state move to 2.5 hours away cost well over 8 grand, which was almost double the initial estimate. Anyhow, there were some damaged items during the move, so we asked Safe Ship to help us file a claim. It has been almost 3 weeks and we heard nothing from them. We are not holding our breath. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of Safe Ship.

Updated on 05/20/2024: Safe Ship gave me a phone estimate of $6000 to move my apartment from New Jersey to Virginia. After that, I called Got Junk to haul away a truckload of stuff. When the ** moving crew came, they demanded another $4000, payable by check. They took ten days to drive the 200 miles to New Jersey, claiming they had to wait for my check to clear. That cost me hotel bills, $2000. When they finally delivered my household goods, they left my dresser standing on end in my living room, instead of setting it in my bedroom. They broke my bed, snapping the baseboard and crushing the box springs. They stole $11,000 worth of my electronics, including my laptop, 3 monitors, 3 La Cie hard drives, Nikon digital SLR camera, a leather jacket, a flight jacket, and more. Basically, anything that could be easily hocked was stolen.
Safe Ship said I could submit my claim to a neutral arbitrator but I would have to pay the $300 to begin the process and had to forgo any lawsuit. I would also need to hire a lawyer to prepare a legal brief and produce receipts to prove I owned all the stuff they stole. Now, I found reviews from other customers who were similarly burned. Overcharging their customers at pickup and looting their goods is their real business. Basically, Safe Ship cheated me every way they could cheat me. The $6000 move they quoted me actually cost me S10,000 with last minute overcharges and $11,000 in broken and stolen goods.
Original Review: Safe Ship gave me an estimate over the phone of $7000 to move my apartment to the next state. After I got the estimate, I called the got junk people, and they hauled away a truckload of stuff that I discarded, which should’ve lowered the price significantly below the estimate. When ** moving crew showed up their lead, told me that my household was above the estimate and I would need to pay another $4000. I had a new job waiting for me in this other town so I paid by personal check. It took them a week to drive the 200 miles to my new home. That cost me $2000 in hotel expenses while I waited. They said they had to wait until my check cleared before they would move the truck. Of my previous moves had taken overnight. I kept asking when the truck would show up and they kept putting me off.
When they finally arrived, instead of putting my dresser in my bedroom. They stood it on its end in the living room in a forest of boxes. It was very difficult to get it into my bedroom. When I unpacked, I discovered they had looted my household. I was missing a $2000 laptop, a $2000 camera, three computer monitors, three portable hard drives. They broke my bed, snapping the baseboard and crushing the box springs. Altogether, they broke or stole $6000 Worth of my stuff. Adding together the overcharge, the stuff stolen and my broken bed, it came to about $10,000 worth of broken and stolen stuff. I feel that I paid like $7000 to commit a $10,000 felony against me. These are very bad people running a crooked business, who are fleecing their customers for everything they can get.

-10 DON'T USE. These are the worst movers of all. I moved from WI to TN. The Friday before I moved, they doubled my price -- even though I left a whole family room with 2 sofas, china cabinet, and recliners. The movers came on Monday (I had no other choice) and they emptied all the dressers into large boxed (4' high x 3 wide). They even emptied my mother's side tables with her medicine. None of the boxes were labeled. I told them to put the basement furniture in the garage, they left everything in the garage - except a few items I made them move in the house. Antiques were stacked on each other in the house.
They couldn't find the footings for my mother's bed (who has arthritis very bad & 83) so I had to call a handyman to put some boards across so she could sleep. The movers left without a word. My mother's medicine was in one of the monster boxes with everything else. I had to search through the garage and tear down boxes to find her medicine. It took 2 weeks to find. The garage was so so filled.. I could barely get through to the boxes. I had to pay extra movers to help me get through. HORRIBLE. DON'T USE. I could go on.. and on.

I contracted Safe Ship to arrange a cross country move for my wife and I which took place in January. We opted for the white glove service with a full pack and load so we understood we were going to pay a premium. After a detailed walk through and increasing our estimate we felt like we had high conviction in understanding our costs. Unfortunately, we were way off and became victims of what I can only describe as predatory practices by the movers - Top Notch Movers - that Safe Ship Moving arranged for us.
Everything went fine the day of our pack and load. The team showed up on time and were professional. We were blindsided that after everything was packed into the truck we were going to be charged a full 50% more than the quote due to space taken up in the truck. While some margin for error is understandable, 50% is absolutely egregious and we essentially had to pay because all of our belongings were on the truck and we had nowhere to stay in the city we were in at the time.
Fast forward to the completion of the move where we paid the additional cost and we filed a complaint with Safe Ship. After explaining the situation and speaking with one of their customer service reps, Lesley **, we were assured that the owner of Top Notch would make us right through the claims process. We worked through the 3rd party claims company they utilize, CSI, and for the past 2 months have been waiting for this to be resolved. We were notified today that there is nothing that can be done to enforce the commitment to pay our overages back and are now out an extra $5000 dollars on a move for a 1000 sq foot, 2 bedroom apartment.
I write this as a cautionary tale because I know we are not the only ones this has happened to or will happen to in the future. Avoid this company at all costs and know that their word essentially means nothing. Predatory business practices such as these are heinous and hopefully at least one person/family will be helped by our terrible experience.

Again, extra fees upon delivery and they wanted more for using an elevator. I was not advised they use subcontractors. They charge by the foot of space used and after delivery there were boxes with two pieces of wrap in them. So, I was charged for what amounted to an empty box. Appears they purposely didn't correct # of items I stated so the price wouldn't go up until the pickup driver shows up to say "Oh, there's much more than we thought. That's an extra $2000 or so." They showed up 1 day sooner than I expected so, another $500 or so to help pack what I didn't have time to do.

Also, even though the mover says "when would you like your delivery" and you tell them a date, that date is actually not your delivery date. NO, that date is the first day that you are willing to take delivery. They have up to 10 business days from that date to actually deliver your belongings. But that is not the worst of it. They deliver your belongings in a semi-trailer. If the semi-trailer cannot get within 75 feet of your front door, you will need to pay for a "shuttle" to have your furniture delivered. This can cost hundreds, if not thousands of dollars more. Please, do the research and book a company that actually cares about your move.

Imagine hiring a babysitter through an agency for $20/hour for your 9 month old baby. Once you’re out having fun (and have already paid a deposit), the babysitter calls to inform you that the baby has soiled himself, and it’ll be $5 to change the diaper (even though you have diapers) and $10 if there’s poop inside it. Furthermore, once it’s time to eat, they’ll charge separately for heating the meal you’ve already prepared, feeding the baby, and burping him.
When you call the support line for the agency and argue that you’re paying them $20/hour and it should be included, a customer service representative informs you it's company policy, and their hands are tied. Moreso, somewhere deep in your contract, you’ve already agreed to this fee structure. Unfortunately because it’s your baby and you love him, you’re forced to pay these exorbitant fees, lest he go hungry, remain dirty, or choke. It’s not the customer service rep’s fault - heck, it’s not even the babysitter’s fault. It’s the company that set these rules.
This sums up my experience dealing with Safe Ship Moving. They tell you one thing and promise you peace of mind, but in the fine print, you’re going to pay a lot more. I'd prefer they just raise their rates so there's no surprises. Trying to work with customer service and various managers has been akin to trying to get a deaf, one-legged dog to clap - it’s impossible, and I feel stupid for having tried. I explained to him that I have been ripped off twice before by moving companies holding my belongings hostage after receiving deceptive quotes or deceptive loading practices (wrong space measurements and bricks to add weight). Christian** assured me they give accurate quotes. He then made an odd comment about companies working out of one bedroom apartments etc., and assured me Safe Ship is legit. After reading the reviews below, I decided to dig a little deeper only to realize the number leaving me excessive texts is assigned to a private residence in San Antonio. I will promptly be breaking off contact. Thank you to all the honest reviewers for saving me a headache.

The moving guys showed up slightly behind schedule but made up for it with how fast they worked. I appreciate the urgency as I need to get out of the house as fast as possible. If my delivery goes as smooth as my pickup I will be tipping the guys nicely. Thanks again to Safe Ship for setting this all up.

Gave them exact measures for all items, got the quote and day of the move the cost DOUBLED. Also hired them to move our truck cross country, had to call them the day of the move only to find out no one available.

The guys showed up and packed my stuff. I didn't have to lift a finger (that's what I paid for). I'm still waiting on my delivery but the pickup was great. Happy I went with Safe Ship Moving. I will report back once I'm delivered.

After my initial interaction with Safe Ship, it left a bad taste in my mouth. But what the initial rep lacked, customer service 100% made up for it. Every single time I call them, they are pleasant and professional, especially Samantha. She has gone above and beyond. That girl needs a raise. I was a nervous wreck (and rude), Samantha calmed me down. Hopefully she sees this.

Safe Ship Moving Services is NOT a good route to go for moving services. As a broker, they contract your moving work to a different moving company they claim to have vetted. The moving company that completed my moving services did a VERY bad job. My belongings were damaged, I was overcharged for the amount of cubic feet of belongings I had (overcharged me easily by 150cuft), the delivery was a week late. When I called to ask about the condition of my belongings they said that all I could do was submit a claim. Said claim only offered to reimburse me $80 for my troubles.
My television, furniture items, dishware, and many more items were damaged. They decline to refund any of my storage totes which were used to transport my belongings as well as boxes. Boxes were smashed in and delivered upside down and crushed when the box clearly stated in multiple locations that it was "FRAGILE & THIS SIDE UP". This broker will not be of any level of help to you. If you want better moving services, LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Initially spoke with Jesse. He was thorough and knowledgeable. I explained that I also have 2 cats that I need transported. He explained that they could not transport live animals but set me up with Happy Trails. As far as my household property, they arrived on time and packed everything up completely. The driver was well spoken and quite professional. I was delivered 6 days later and everything made it in one piece. I will be recommending Safe Ship to my church and work friends.

If zero stars was an option that's what they would receive...If you're thinking about using A&S Packers and Movers LLC (Cozy Mosy Packing And Moving LLC) DOT # 4001787 or Safe Ship Moving Services my advice is DON'T do it/get somebody else to do it. Let's start with pick up on November 30th 2023. I was told they would be there by 12. Then got a call they were running late and would be there to pick up my belongings at 4 pm. 4 pm came and when and they did not end up getting to my house until 530 pm- 545 pm. When the driver arrived he choose to park on the street.. (Mind you I lived one way two lane street.) He was blocking my neighbor's driveway which led my neighbor having to ask him to move the truck. Why he didn't just park in my driveway? Your guess is as good as mine.
Next the driver came inside and introduced himself. He began asking what was moving despite me prefilling out an inventory list. Next he waited 30 to 45 minutes for another guy to come assist him with packing up my items. While packing up my items he asked for tape and a Allen wrench to take apart my bedroom set. What moving company comes without tape and tools when disassembly and reassembly is part of the job?. Next I was outside on my back porch and the driver was about to start loading my items in the truck. When he opened the door of the truck whomever items were packed in the truck before he got to me fell to the back of the truck (my move was a shared move). I know a couple of their items must have been broke because I heard what sounded like broken glass. This led to a delay in packing my items on the truck because they had to move the first load back to the head of the truck to make room for mine.
Before leaving the driver gave me a bag of the screws from my bedroom set and told me to hold on to them so that they don't get lost. I went inside to finish sweeping my room (I lived In a rental) and I found screws from my bedroom set on the floor. My move was from VA to SC. I was told my items would be in SC in 7 days. Mind you safe ship didn't tell me this part until after I paid the deposit so beware when dealing with them as well. 7 days Had gone by and I had to keep calling both A&S packers and movers (cozy mosy moving) and safe ship. Everyone Had something different to say.
Two guys arrived with my items. Had arrived on a Dec 9th 2023 In SC (not the same two guys who picked up my items in VA). One who didn't speak any English at all. So they move in my stuff and when they brought my 55 inch flat-screen in I noticed one of the leg stands was missing. I told the driver which led him to look and see if it was in the truck somewhere. Well it wasn't so he ended up calling the main guy. Not sure if he is the owner, dispatch or what. The driver ended up calling the other driver who picked up in VA and he said he gave me both the TV legs in the bag of screws for the bedroom set which I know for a fact he didn't and if he did why was one of the legs still attached to the TV? Ray told me he would replace the leg for me which he did a few Days later.
After they moved in all my stuff into the new house he said they were done. I told him I was told by safe ship they would disassemble and reassemble upon pick and drop off. The driver instantly had an attitude and once again like pick up asked if I had tools to put together my bedroom set. I supplied them with tools even though they should have their own and they put it together. I went into the room and saw he didn't take the protective bag off the box spring and asked him to remove it. He responded with an attitude while responding, "Oh come on." Now throughout this whole process I was respectful and had patience but this was the final straw so I told him it was part of his job. Before leaving he insisted i give him a tip. Mind you I paid over 2000 dollars for the move, provided tools, tape and waited past the 7 Days for my stuff to arrive. I told him he wouldn't be getting a tip when he stated he put together my bedroom set.
I told him once again it was a part of the contract and that they get paid from their employer. He then proceeded to tell me they make little money and I told him I have nothing to do with that. He became mad and walked down the hallway (he still had the protective box spring bag in his hand). When he got to the living room he threw the bag on the floor. (Mind you my 5 month old daughter was in her swing across from where he threw it at.) He told the other guy who was waiting outside, "Let's go," and sped off up the street. I called both Ray of A&S and Safe Ship customer service and reported him because this was unprofessional and unacceptable. After they left I noticed a big chunk of my sideboard of the bedframe was missing its paint (came from them putting tape on it and ripping it off) and scratches on my dresser.
I moved into my place Dec 1st 2023 but have been back and forth to VA finishing some business so I didn't get to hook up my 55 inch tv. I went to go hook up my TV yesterday February 4th 2024 and my TV is broke resulting in my having to buy another one. With all of this being said do not use this company or safe ship who dispatched this company to me. They cost me both time and money on things I worked hard to get. Not to mention the unprofessionalism and attitudes that were displayed.

I am not normally a person that writes reviews but the to movers went above and beyond. I personally do not have a lot of money so I was not able to tip them. My daughter and I gave them snacks and some juice. Johnny was kind and said he wouldn't accept a tip even if I offered. At the end of the day Safe Ship Moving delivered exactly what I needed, some nice strong guys to move my little apartment.

Safeship was easy to work with. I was surprised that the carrier they sent was punctual, friendly and professional. Once my stuff was in transit, I called Safeship to get an update and Lesley called me back within the hour. All in all, 10/10

We signed a contract with Safe Ship for a cross country move. The customer service agent Aaron told us everything we wanted to hear. A few weeks later we received a call from someone at Safe Ship stating that they had misquoted us and that they would need an additional $6000. We called Aaron and asked what was going on. He did return our call and stated that it was his error; that he misunderstood the moving company that he brokered with and if we chose to not move forward our deposit would be refunded. We gave it 24 hours then spoke with Aaron asking him to refund our deposit. He stated we would hear from the billing department within 24 hours. Days have now passed and nothing. Now he doesn’t return our calls; only a text message. Please do not reach out to Safe Ship for your moving needs. As much as we have going on, now we have to contact our lawyer. What a mess; not sure how they can sleep at night.
