    They hired some of the worst movers $17,000 could buy, just to start off. They hired Rigos Delivery to handle our move and they were a nightmare to deal with. Disrespectful and trying to charge us more at every turn (even though we already got charged more "just in case" by Safe Ship themselves). They only had to pack up a living room and 1 bedroom and they were RUDE, and complained at every turn.

    On top of that they tried to charge us BY BOX after packing our things (luckily safe ship told them they couldn't do that, but seriously). They wanted to get more money out of us even though we already paid 17k claiming they were "losing money" on this trip. They were disrespectful when we'd ask questions on timing (since we had a storage unit they needed to visit at a certain time) and worst of all their work was worse than you could even guess. Imagine telling them not to touch specific things and to leave and pack them as is, to find they they had not only gone through it, but had thrown it into a box like it was trash (I'll include photos as proof). If you work with safe ship, especially in california, AVOID RIGOS DELIVERY!!!! Safeship themselves are partially responsible for hiring these people, even if they didn't know they'd work like this.

    I strongly advise against using Safe Ship Moving. This company is predatory and engages in deceptive business practices that are blatantly fraudulent. When I first spoke with them, they lied over the phone about their refund policy to secure my payment. They assured me I would be eligible for a refund under specific conditions, but after I paid the deposit, they completely changed their stance and refused to return my money, over $2,000—despite NEVER PROVIDING THE SERVICE.

    When I tried to address the issue, I was met with rudeness, aggression, and condescension from their representatives. Instead of taking accountability, they dismissed my concerns and refused to acknowledge the false promises they made. Their entire approach is designed to trap customers into paying under false pretenses while making it impossible to get their money back. Bait and switch tactic 101. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this company.

    We had a horrific experience with Safe Ship Movers of Boca Raton. We had pictures of our 10'*15'storage unit and an exact count of the number of boxes we were moving. They estimated a $2,900 move cost, but then called us a few days before the move, only to then double the cost of the move based on the same pictures and information that the estimator had for a month. Elizabeth, who called, claimed that The pictures we sent to Tyler a week before Elizabeth called Actually showed 750 cubic feet of moving stuff rather than their (Tyler's) estimated 350 ft. We ended up cancelling and moving ourselves in a 428 cubic foot Penske truck which was only filled Halfway!

    We told them we wanted our deposit back and we're going to cancel as we had provided all the same information to Tyler who promised that the moving cost estimate would not change given he had all of the information needed. At that point Elizabeth the person we were transferred to immediately started over talking us and eventually screaming at us and calling us a fraud repeatedly for cancelling when they doubled their move Estimate just a few days before our plans move! The last woman we spoke to refused to return our deposit saying we had violated the terms of their contract.

    We contacted Safe Ship on 10/9/24 to request an estimate for an interstate move from NY to VT. We had been impressed by their "veteran owned" status and the positive reviews on their website.. They "inventoried" our household goods over the phone by having us go from room to room and describing all items to be moved. After completing this 2+ hour process we were transferred to their customer service dept. We were given an estimated cost of just over $17,000 based, in part, on an estimated load weight of 17,000 lbs. We were informed that the quote included a $2000 discount -- "good that day only."

    We again informed the Customer Svc rep. that we were only interested in getting an estimate and that we were obtaining quotes from other movers. We were pressured into agreeing to (in the representative's words) allow Safe Ship to place a hold on our credit card "similar to your providing a credit card number to reserve a hotel room" in the amount of just over $8300. The representative also reassured us saying that Safe Ship would match any competitor's price. Foolishly, we agreed to do this after electronically signing several documents.

    Several days later we saw that the above amount had been charged to our Visa account. By this time we'd obtained an estimate from a local mover representing a nation wide moving company for just over $9000. We called Safe Ship and spoke with the same rep. we'd worked with on 10/9. We told him that we never agreed to pay Safe Ship, that we'd been assured that Safe Ship would only "place a hold" on our account. He informed us that one of the docs we'd signed electronically on 10/9 specified that our "payment" was binding and that a refund could be requested only within 72 hours.

    Safe ship refused to refund our money. Further, when we requested that Safe Ship meet the competitor's price the agent, after seeing the other company's estimate, questioned its validity and wanted additional information in order for him to "compare apples to apples." When specified additional information was provided he further questioned the other company's estimate including their weight estimate of 12,000 lbs. I pointed out that the Allied weight estimate by a person with 30+ years experience in the moving industry who'd actually come to our home to inventory the items to be moved. [Note: the actual weight was, in fact, later determined to be just over 13,000 lbs.]

    We asked to speak with a supervisor who basically informed us that our money would not be returned as we were outside of the 72 hour window. It became apparent to us that we'd been defrauded by Safe Ship and that they had no intention of returning our money. We'd also researched Safe Ship further online and found numerous complaints against them. We followed up by filing a dispute with our bank (Chase). Approximately 2 months later we learned that our dispute had been resolved in our favor and our "deposit" was returned. In summary: We strongly urge others to avoid using Safe Ship. Based on our experience this company engages in high-pressure and highly unethical practices!

    Updated on 03/14/2025: Everything the company wrote in response is untrue. Someone reached out and promised a discount and then they have mot upheld it. It's been 11 days since I was told to be there because my items would arrive. Two days after posting this I was promised a discount and my items would arrive Thursday or Friday. It is jarring how disorganized Safe Ship is and lack of communication. Now I've been told no record of discount and they have yet to schedule my delivery.

    Original Review: On Friday February 28 I received a phone call my movers/shipment was coming Monday. I took off work. They did not show up. Nobody called. I called on Tuesday and they told me it was coming midweek. They did not show up. Nobody called. I called on Thursday. The woman told me (very nice/sweet) that there was a religious reason the movers were not responding. She would call me back. Nobody called me back. I called Saturday. Guy said he would look into and call me back. He never called me back.

    I call back at 230p and talk to a Cari. She gives me info saying that it was in my profile I had been told already. THAT IS A LIE. I WAS NEVER TOLD THE INFO. They basically said it was not them who called me. It was the contracted movers so it wasn't their fault. I reminded them I was paying Safe Ship and they said it didn't matter. I said I wanted to speak with her supervisor and she said no and hung up. Communication horrible. Important to know they are not BBB approved.

    This company continuously changed the price throughout the process. I was informed a 75 dollar fee at pick up then it turned into 300 at drop off. I was informed the drop off would be 2/3/25.     Do NOT use this company. They use shady business practices like quoting a low number that they have no intention of honoring. We attempted to use this company for our January move. They quoted 22k for full service and after a rude hang up by them and a call back, they said 10k. Still high as our previous move that was the same distances was only about 3k but understandable since that was 10 years ago. We went over things. Told them there was going to be a lot of boxes along with itemized furniture. They said they'd talk about the boxes later and they'd get us a big truck. We gave them a 4.5k deposit. Come to the week of the move, they call to recap inventory and we give them a specific box count. Our price is now 22k again. Surprise!

    They're demanding another 6k deposit immediately. We say no and cancel the move and call the cc company to dispute the charges. We are now in a constant back and forth between them, the credit card company, the consumer financial protection bureau, and the BBB and will most likely have to seek legal action. Do NOT use this company. Look for a local moving company that does what you're looking for and avoid these con artists.

    My auto got here in perfect condition. Stuff was packed very well with only a couple inconsequential things were broken. I have to say I have moved at least 10 times and this by far is the best move from the packing to driving across country to the unpacking. The only thing that changed this from a five star to a four star was they needed more people. On the packing they had to call in another person and on the unpacking. They only had two people so all the things that they were supposed to do on a white glove move was not able to be finished. They got my main stuff done. The movers on both ends were fantastic.     Talk about life savers! Not only did Happy Wheels Moving respond super quickly and send the movers exactly when I needed them, but they were also incredibly adaptable to demand.     I have never been more dissatisfied or displeased before in my life; especially with an organization that "says" they are veteran friendly. I've never been ignored, yelled at, hung up on or felt like I was a bother to someone I'm paying money to, that is actually supposed to perform a service for me. I would NOT recommend this company or their sub United Way Movers because they will take your money, better yet, demand your money upfront, treat you like trash, damage your goods and not bother to repair them. I found this company through the Consumer Affairs site, I would recommend removing them and United Way.

    **** This company if you even can call it one. Initial consultation they quoted us based on the items we provided was $3100 in which we explicitly asked the sales rep if this was our take home price and he confirmed. Get a call one week before move in to "confirm dimensions" that we were never even asked about in the first place... Hit us with a huge markup and blamed us because it's "more space" bringing the total to $5500 AFTER they had already collected the deposit. Made my wife cry and put my family in a huge bind. Thanks SafeShip real quality company. Coming from a family of veterans you should all be ashamed of what you do to people.

    In December 2024 I used Safe Ship to move from Florida to my hometown up north. I went online and it looked like Safe Ship had good reviews. The sales rep worked through the moving process. We agreed on a price as well and I paid a deposit. Please note the movers would move my things to Florida border and then my belongings would get picked up by a long-distance mover. My things, which were mostly smaller items and clothes, were given a inventory numbers at my Florida apartment. They were moved and stored in a Florida warehouse until a distance mover was found. It took more than a week and I didn't know where my things were being held.

    Finally they were picked up, but then I didn't know where they were along the way. Safeship reps would tell me they didn't know but shipper would contact me when arrival near. Finally took almost a month, my belongings arrived. One person, a manager really helped me. He would always take my texts or calls. Diego was always understanding and helpful. He understood my worries and always got back to me. My belongings arrived fine except for my tv, which was broken. I have gone through a lot to get it replaced. Diego was the only one who really cared. He followed through and I will get my TV replaced thanks to him.

    I hope I never have to move again. Moving across the country with a smaller load is difficult. Safe Ship did what they said, but realize you may not know where your belongings always are. Read the contracts or invoices thoroughly. If it was not for Diego, I might not have used such a good review. He made all the difference.

    Absolutely awful customer service. First of all, the initial employee we talked to (Christian) lied about a truck being in the area the day before we are supposed to move, and when pickup was scheduled. NOW, it is two days before our move and we get a call that they cannot pick up until the day we LEAVE LATE IN THE EVENING. We leave in the MORNING. Instead of assisting us with this issue, the two customer representatives we spoke to said “There’s nothing we can do.” They then proceeded to tell us that an employee can say whatever they would like to get a sale. So this lie about the truck being in the area to get our stuff the day before we left, total lie. Also, it is mind boggling that an extra 10 boxes (SMALL) will run up an extra 1k. We took them off because at that point, we’ll ship them via mail. What an awful experience.

    This is absolutely the worst company I have dealt with. From the first quote I received from my salesman to the final almost doubled. (moving from Az to Tx) The 2 men who showed up to pickup my item were actually very nice and did a good job wrapping up and securing my furniture. They told me my delivery date would 2/13/25 and then put a date of 3/8/25 as the latest date (I stated absolutely not on that, I need my furniture and my clothes ASAP as I’m starting a new job on the 22nd). The gentleman told me that date was for my safety that if something happened and I was unavailable for my items that they wouldn’t start charging me storage until that date. So I called yesterday to see the ETA for my delivery and they told me it would be as late as 3/8/25 as they were waiting for another load to add to it.

    They sent my load from Az to Las Vegas NV, the opposite direction of Tx and now are telling me if I need it sooner it will be another $1000 to have it expedited after already paying $7000 for less than 1000 square feet of space on their moving truck. They are basically holding my load hostage. And I have reached out to customer service and 3 other contacts with absolutely no resolution.

    My family contracted Safe Ship to move us from Oklahoma to Maine. Originally we contracted for 11,000 cubic ft of space. A few days before they said the person who wrote our manifest didn't do it right and that we needed 17,000. To keep our rate we had, we had to pay the different right then. Then when they got here they couldn't even get 11,000 cubic ft on the truck. When we called the representative was extremely rude. So we were out a LOT of money, had to rent U hauls because they couldn't get everything on the truck we paid for, AND the customer service was the worst we have ever experienced. If we had it to do again we wouldn't have used this company. Whatever you do. Go somewhere else for a big move. They may be more expensive at the quote but by the time Safe Ship is done you will spend so much more that the others are cheap in comparison.

    Due to unforeseen circumstances I called Safe Ship to have a move taken care of super quick. They quoted me for 5k. They assured me they would pack everything up, store it for 24 hours on a truck to the new location, and then unload it. This was a complete fabrication. First of all, they told me the wrong truck size after I had already given them size of my house and the items in it. Then I asked about keeping it on the truck for 48 hours since there was some time issues between the closing of the house and when I had the key. They said they would never store items on a truck for 24 hours to begin with. I asked how that was possible since I was assured that it would be on the truck for a minimum of 24 hours. They said they would take it to a storage facility, but then I would be charged for an entirely separate move to move it to the house. This means my move would not be 5k as originally discussed, but 15k.

    Of course, by the time they gave all these details they said that it was too late to cancel my move and my deposit would be kept. When I called to explain this was unreasonable as they purposefully misquoted me and promised things they could not deliver, they said they would investigate the recorded call and inform me of their decision. They never called back and then no one could find my record of my other calls I made to talk to them, thus losing all my deposit money. They are crooks and should be in jail!

    The only real issues I had was I was originally told a Monday pick up when speaking with the people I booked same day with, when they called me "24 hours before" I was told Tuesday so I had to move around some appointments I had set up with having been told a Monday pickup. Not a HUGE deal but rather annoying. I was also told that the movers would be calling me 30 minutes before they were going to arrive and they called AS they were pulling in but they spoke VERY little English so it was difficult and we had to revert to texting for them to be able to use translation.

    I was also told I needed to have pick up and drop off payment separate for a same day delivery when I could have just gotten ONE and having to fill out 6 money order papers was quite irritating as well. The movers were extremely friendly and despite the language barriers we were able to communicate effectively.     Since I wrote my review on 2/5/25, I received a response from Safe Ship wanting to work with me to resolve my issues. I spoke with Jessica ** (customer experience specialist) who was able to resolve my concerns and have the money I requested for damages reimbursed. I feel a little better about my experience with them, but there is still a lot of room for improvement with their pricing strategies and vetting reputable movers in my opinion.

    Original Review: Feb. 5, 2025

    In June of 2024 I bought a house and needed to move my heirloom quality furniture from Maine to Colorado. On 7/31/2024 I contacted Safe Ship to get a price for the cost of the move. My old house was up for sale at the time so the representative not only took my account of how much furniture I had, but looked at all the rooms on-line and gave me a price for the move. Keep in mind that Safe Ship is not a moving company, but a broker that manages moving companies. They quoted me a price of $8039.32 and wanted $3170.29 as a deposit to schedule the move for either 8/29/24 or 8/30/24. After about a month of packing everything myself I was contacted by another representative to do “another” evaluation of the cost for the move on 8/28/24. I was told it would now cost me $9396.38 due to the number of boxes I had?

    At this point I informed the representative that I no longer wanted their service and was told that I would forfeit my down payment of $3170.29 because the contract only refunded my money within 7 days of 7/31/24. In other words, they call you for an additional price hike well after the 7 day refund period! I was left without much choice so I elected to pay the additional cost. On their scheduled day (Friday) to arrive the movers were hours past the quoted time frame so I called Safe Ship and was told they were on their way and would be at our house in 15 to 20 minutes. After waiting 4 to 5 hours I called the moving company and was told they were an hour out, but the truck was full and they didn’t have any room for my furniture. They arrived the next day (Saturday) after 8pm and worked till 11pm to move some of my furniture.

    They finished the next day (Sunday), but damaged the interior wall (which they patched up poorly) and broke the lamppost outside. Then they informed us that we had too much furniture to fit in the truck and it would cost us another $4791.87. I was very upset by the movers not only moving us two days late disrupting our plans, but damaging our property and increasing the cost yet again. Safe Ship’s response was that they would expedite the move. I told them that I didn’t want the move expedited, but was ignored. On 9/5/2024 I was notified that the movers would be at my new house on 9/6/2024. The truck was parked in front of the house. I learned that the movers hired a couple of locals to do the work that didn’t speak English and had no experience in moving furniture. Even though I had the boxes labeled, due to the language barrier they put the furniture/household goods in disarray.

    After looking over my things, I can’t begin to explain the devastation that I felt when I saw my scratched up and damaged heirloom quality furniture along with the walls/ceilings of our pristine new home damaged. A whole chunk of wood about 3 inches in length was separated and taped to the underside of my table in order to hide the damage! We did extensive work in taking pictures and listing the damage in order to be reimbursed $2670 per policy. We heard nothing and when we called we were told that they lost the original paperwork and we had to resent it only to be told in the end that they would pay only $156 for all the damage they cost us! The lamppost alone cost us $800 to replace! We are in arbitration now, but my trust in a fair process when dealing with an unprofessional company like Safe Ship is gone.

    Everything was fine with the process. I do have two suggestions. When one places their order they speak to one person but then later it’s a different person and in my case there were three people who eventually were helping me. While they all did their job, each has a unique personality that comes through over the phone. So I felt very comfortable with the first caller Liam. He was very patient and thorough. The others were good but I felt less confident because I needed clarification and eventually got it but I think my lack of confidence was because 3 different people handled it whereas had I just stuck with Liam I would have felt secure. So maybe one person handles a move order from start to finish?

    Secondly. While I understand the first intake of the order is an estimate, I was quoted a price but when the day came to review the contents and be sure the estimate was close, and even though I had removed SEVERAL pieces of furniture but added a few more bins, there was a $1300 difference. This was quite the jolt given I am a single Senior with limited funds. SO I feel that if you could at least get the estimate closer than that it wouldn’t have jolted my senses. I was quoted $6000 for the move AND the auto ship and it ended up at around $7500 for both. But by then I didn’t really have a choice. So I paid. Just trying to make it a bit easier on the next person perhaps. BUT overall it was fine and the actual people loading my stuff on the truck were fabulous!!     My original estimate was not even close to the final quote. I entered that I had 2 5x10 storage units plus listed items. The original estimate did not reflect the cost per square foot of the 2 units which was what made the final estimate so high. When quoting the estimate, the representatives only read off the numbers. I had to stop them to get the actual dollar amounts. The final representative was giving the final quote, I had to stop her to clarify the amount. I said, "Wait. You mean $526.xx?" She said, "No $5,26x.xx." I was stunned! I don't even remember the entire final quote because my brain was trying to keep up with her delivery. Her delivery was so cavalier and nonchalant.

    This quote was not even close to the original and beyond my affordability. If I had had an inkling of the total cost in the beginning, I would never have continued to work with Safe Ship Moving. I finally told her I could only afford the original quote which included 398 cubic feet. The general conversion of a 5x10 storage unit is 400 cubic feet. This meant that not only did I have to figure out how to leave half of my possessions behind, I also had to work with trying to figure out how I could meet the two cubic feet difference.

    Fernando, the individual assigned to transport my belongings is very professional and efficient. He took time to explain everything and answered all of my questions. All in all, I will never recommend or work with Safe Ship Moving again. It is really sad because Trevor made it a point to state it is a Veteran supported firm which implies respectability, quality and forthrightness. None of which was presented in my experience.

    I have moved at least 10 times and several times cross country. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had and I would never use this broker. I expected the final dollar amount of the move to be higher but over 2 1/2 times higher than the original quote and didn’t know until three days before the move happened. Their contracted company ciao Bella provided me with over $3000 of extra insurance that I paid for to ensure full replacement value of anything that was lost, broken, etc. When my things arrived here out of storage, several things were broken two major art pieces were stolen or lost and I’ve been offered less than $200 which is not full replacement value.

    I should've known better than to use this company. Follow through was horrible & once they get paid, they really don’t give a damn. Use a major moving company instead of this unprofessional & horrible customer service mover. Promises made were broken & anyone that uses them has to have their head examined. Never again!

    Safe ship is nothing but money hungry. We were quoted a certain price for the whole shipping then after they picked up from the storage unit in Indiana I had to pay a fee. Then they held it for 7 days. Before they could move it kept in a warehouse then added another fee. Time we got our stuff here in Georgia it was 2 weeks later we had to stay in hotels. Finally got our stuff. Had to pay some more money. On top of that they said they couldn't bring their 18 wheeler into the complex apartments ha the manager here said semis come in all the time so they charged 500 dollars more to get a Uhaul truck to bring in our stuff. They charged us 100.00 more cause they had to use the elevator. That's crazy. The tape the wrapping was left behind I had to take out to the trash. Wow. Do not use they are a con plus they weren't able to speak English. One spoke English but he was from another country. Gee wizzz.

    I used Safe Ship Moving a couple of months ago to move cross country. They were easy to work with, but be wary of the third party company they hire to do the actual move. They used Perfectly Fast Moving for me and they could barely speak English which made it difficult to communicate during the move. They also increased my price about $1500 due to apparently going above the quoted space. They couldn’t really explain how the allotted space was calculated so it seemed kind of arbitrary. They showed up at my new house with no notice. They lost about 10 different items during the move, luckily they found most of them in their warehouse and dropped them off a couple weeks later but a few things were never found. There was damage to my dining room table and chairs as well as one of my couches which was “determined to be acceptable for the move” so I wasn’t compensated for them.

    Be careful when reading your contract. It was late at night when I was given the contract and the guy explained it to me as any damaged or missing items would be repaid at 60% of value. It’s actually 60 cents per pound unless you pay extra so be aware of that. My fault for not reading it more carefully but still seemed pretty shady.

    I found the heavier boxes on top of the lighter ones, so it is making it difficult to unpack them. Also, some of the boxes were upside down (even with arrows on the box). Furniture was put in backwards. An example of this is a dresser was put in the bedroom with the drawers facing the wall. My larger TV has no power cord connected, and as I am pretty much useless when it comes to anything electrical, I am still trying to figure out which cord goes where (and there are a lot of cords)!     Booking with Safe Ship was a disastrous experience, and I strongly urge anyone considering them to think twice. They are merely brokers and take no responsibility for the moving companies they hire. The lack of customer service was astounding. They demanded cash upfront and refused to open the truck to show our belongings until we paid. The driver arrived with only 45 minutes’ notice, was unaccompanied, and left our belongings on the sidewalk. To make matters worse, he drove off with a box of our clothes and other items.

    The price kept changing, and our belongings were essentially held hostage. The truck was chaotic—nothing was organized, tagged, or properly secured. Safe Ship broke some of our items before they even made it to the truck, and several possessions were either lost or damaged beyond repair during this out-of-state move. Attempts to contact Safe Ship, Vangard, and the mover were met with silence. Safe Ship offered zero assistance in resolving the issues. This was a nightmare from start to finish. Numerous items were broken, lost, and never recovered. Beware of Safe Ship!

    SCAM!!! Taking advantage of an elderly lady! SCAM!!! I am submitting this review on behalf of Ms. Adele **, authorized by a power of attorney. My name is David **, representing Moving Scam Rescue. Ms. ** engaged the services of Safe Ship Moving Services and made a deposit of approximately $4,000. She mistakenly believed she was dealing with a different company at the time of payment. Upon realizing her error and requesting a refund of the deposit, Safe Ship responded with a refusal and abruptly ended the call.

    I would like to pose a question to the public: how would you feel about entering into a contract with a moving company that fails to disclose that the deposit is nonrefundable? This is a company with numerous online reviews indicating that they have deceived their clients. My client is an elderly individual who is being exploited in this situation. Her husband suffers from dementia, and she is facing numerous challenges alone. After paying the $4,000, she became aware of the company's poor reputation, which she discovered after noticing their suspicious behavior following the deposit.

    DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!! They took my family's original $10,000 quote and marked it up to $16,000 five days before our move! That's a 60% increase... Then, they claimed it was our fault because "we didn't give them the full list" the first time. That is a complete lie, this is just the way they hustle people when they’re vulnerable. Safe Ship is NOT a moving company, they're a "broker." This means they reach out to a carrier (actual moving) company and then pretend to do extra work. All they are doing with the other moving company is the same thing you spent time doing with Safe Ship. Then, they markup the actual move quote way up and that's how they make this business. I actually can't believe it's a business in the USA, especially with all the "veteran-owned" marketing they do.

    Just go straight to an actual carrier and save yourself all the extra money and heartache!!! The carrier will walk you through the exact same process. No time saved. Safe Ship will pretend to be a moving company, spend over an hour on the phone getting your inventory, then ask you for a deposit. It is NOT refundable!!! Once you get about a week out from your move, when you're in a real crunch, they'll go back to "confirm" your inventory and mark the original quote way up!!!

    Don’t not recommend. There is no communication between them and the moving company. I was charged in additional 2000 plus by the moving company. The move was from Florida to Arizona. For your sake stay away from Safe Ship!!!

    Started of great, booked and got everything set up. The moving company showed up, Oasis, no clue who it was going to be, I "assumed" they would only use reputable moving companies. We had a quote for a 3 bedroom house, had to move our things to a storage unit, closer to the freeway, less drive for them and a 10x10 unit. They charged us an additional $5,000.00 saying we had more things, no we did not, we downsized, at this point you cannot argue since they had all of our belongings loaded, with our help.

    Fast forward, Oasis arrives in Florida from Washington State. Unloaded, I went thru what I could with the time frame they gave me, while they waited. Once they left, I did unpack and took notes on a separate piece of paper, Oasis said do not write on the bill of lading. They lost numerous items, I called them, they yelled at me, asking why did I wait so long, it was 3 days.

    I call Safe Ship to get help or advice, they referred me to Oasis, who at this point stops taking my calls. I file a claim within 90 days and their insurance company denied it all, even with me sending pictures as proof along with all the phone calls. I filed with BBB, Oasis does not respond, claim closed. I did talk to Safe Ship again, and they refer me to Oasis and at this point wash their hands and won't help. Oasis should not be in their go to for moving company. I feel since they did send Oasis to me they are partly responsible for working with such a badly rated company. Now I have to work with an attorney to get at least compensated for all of our missing items.

    The sales rep was pushy and did not want to provide the quote to be valid for longer than the time we were on the phone. The movers added small charges all along the way with no itemization. Upon pick-up, we were told that items would be reassembled in the correct rooms. The team who unloaded denied this service and did not arrive at the property until 8:30 pm and unloaded until after midnight. For those with children or elderly, these hours are completely unacceptable. Following the pick-up, I was again high pressured to complete THIS form with phone calls and text messages as though I had nothing else to do in the middle of a move with elderly parents.

They buy their reviews and when someone post an honest review of how bad they are, they try to buy them off. Although they wrote to me on Dec 19, Stating, "To address the concerns you’ve raised and demonstrate our commitment to making things right, I am pleased to inform you that the moving team will be refunding the shuttle fee in full.     Original review: If I could give Safe Ship a Zero 0 on a scale of 1-5 I would. When I was searching for a moving company I saw that Safe Ship was veteran owned and gave veterans a discount, that was the reason that I picked them. I did not realize that you were a broker and that I could have just chosen my own company and cut out the middleman. When speaking to my original estimator Mike **, I was told by him that he was estimating high on the number of boxes and furniture to be moved so that my cost would not change when I had my second estimate done. The original estimate was $11,690.32. This was not my lowest estimate by movers but was in the middle and again I was thinking that your company was veteran friendly and a "moving company" NOT a broker.

    This was on November 18. I was NOT closing on my New York home until December 5th and since I was driving to Texas, the earliest day of delivery would be around Dec 9, so we planned on moving on Dec 1-2, I explained ALL of this to Mike during our phone call. But later on I discovered I was being charged $2,000 for "expedited service" which I did not require or ask for nor did I receive.... Not happy about that at all and this money should have been returned to me.

    During my Second call with Ryan, an updated estimate was done and I provided him with an Excel Document with ALL of our items that were being moved. This estimate was completed and my new cost was 19,934.32 and had almost doubled. This certainly did not make my day and I asked Ryan how I could lower my cost. He explained that when the movers came they would do another estimate and that I would only be charged for the items moved.

    My wife and I looked hard at all of our furniture and items and decided to get rid of some large items to see if we could lower our cost. We threw out two office desks, 2 chairs, a kitchen table and chairs, a large bean bag chair, 2 coolers, a mirror, shelving material, plant stand, 2 file cabinets, 2 end tables, and several other items that I do not recall. We had hoped that this would lower the cost a bit, but it certainly did not lower anything. In the end, I would pay approximately $22,000, double the original estimate.

    On move day things went wrong right from the beginning. The move "preppers" came and although not asked to, they wrapped numerous items and boxed up things that had been taped up and marked by us prior. The markings were so that we would know what and where items would go when we got to our new home. As an older retired couple (and a 100% disabled combat veteran) obviously it mattered to us where items would be placed as we did not have the physical capability to move some of these items ourselves.

    The total cost for wrapping and boxing items, which we did not discuss or ask for was $893.00....WOW! Also, since the Truck could not get up our driveway, we were charged another $1,050.00. Although I thought the movers worked hard and seemed to be doing a good job, It wasn't till after we were moved that we discovered issues. While in NY and moving we had placed items in the garage that we were transporting in our vehicles along with some items that were being thrown out. At one point, one mover asked if he could have an item and I said, "yes, that is fine." Little did we know that later on that day after the movers left, we noticed that the movers had helped themselves to several items without asking. Not a real big deal, but there were several items that we were moving that we now had to replace.

    After everything was loaded onto the truck and ready to be moved. We received a call that our items were enroute to Texas and would arrive on Dec 5. Although I had discussed the delivery date and everything on the shippers documents stated Dec 9. Now I had to call Safe Ship and sort this out. The woman stated that our items had been loaded from the little truck that had been at our home and placed on a Semi-truck and were heading to texas. I stated that the items were NOT on a little truck that they were placed on a Semi-truck and that I had spoken to the driver who stated he would deliver them 0n Dec 9. Just another example of confusion and the woman on the phone did not believe me until I sent a photo of the Semi in front of my home..UGH

    After arriving at our new home, we discovered numerous issues with items that were broken, along with items that were missing. In addition, items that were supposed to go in different rooms and floors were placed in large wardrobe boxes and mixed up. Again, we did not ask for items to be boxed up in large wardrobe boxes, but nevertheless we certainly got stuck paying for it!

    All in all, our experience was horrible. We will NOT recommend Safe Ship to anyone. I will eventually go on Google and Social Media and contact BBB to express my displeasure with the whole experience. I think it is horrible to advertise your company as a "Moving Company" when you are Brokers. Again, as a 100% Disabled Combat Veteran I feel like I was taken for a ride by Safe Ship....and it certainly wasn't a good ride! Please do not contact me as I do not want to discuss this matter any more. I just want to put this horrible experience behind me. If and when you read this and you want to make a good faith gesture and return some of my money that I was overcharged, that might help, although, that is probably highly unlikely.
