It is a bad idea to use this broker/service provider. You will over pay. During my interactions with their representatives, I was clear about my expectations. Those expectations were not met. The price that I was charged was significantly over inflated. So much so that I believed that packing was included. Considering my move was a 3 bedroom, no children, no televisions etc. going 74 miles, $5,200 should have included packing. After realizing it was just loading and transport, I ended up refusing service. The additional 7 wardrobes and 5 large moving boxes would be a larger fee and cause a rescheduled move date.

There are two parts of the service:

Good moving company to work with. Their customer service team was helpful to get our quarterly adjusted accurately even as the moving team was there moving our stuff.

The team was on top of everything that my move from NJ to FL required. They were communicative, responsive and on time.

The movers were fantastic and super nice- However they did not take pictures before and after which I was promised, but my furniture was in the same condition before and after the move- Was also a little pricey but overall good experience.

Responded quickly to request to move and helped a lot with cost and other issues.

I wouldn’t use this company again unless they have a better system when it comes to taking inventory. The gave me a quote for a 1 bedroom that was a good price. I went over everything I had with them over the phone. And then we did the same thing again and on each call I made to talk them I wanted them to pack and load since it was an out of state move. The day of moving they try to charge me almost double because according to them I had more than what was consulted and I didn’t have the packing included. But it was in my contract. My contract say 20 boxes, they said it was only 10 and the driver only provide 3 large ones. I wasn’t even offered a discount for all the things that went wrong. I only gave this a 2 star because my stuff made it safe the next day. Please request pictures or a video call to do inventory for a better service.

This company doesn't actually move your things. They have slick sales people who tell you one thing, pressure you to sign a bunch of documents while they're on the phone with you, then flip the script when the move actually happens. They bid out your move and then you have to fight with the actual movers over things SafeShip never shared or shared incorrectly. I have moved about ten times in my adult life, including twice internationally, and this is, by far, the absolute worst experience I have ever had. Do yourself a favor and choose literally any other company.

This is the biggest scam out there... First they are not a moving company. They are a broker which means they sit behind a desk and collect money and make rules. That's it.. Second, even the moving company told me they charge ridiculous fee and under estimate the room needed.. They charge you and recharge you every time they call for more space or time... They claim to stay with you through the entire move (Mine was Philip) but they pass you around as soon as you pay the deposit. I paid 1966.50 for a guaranteed delivery date that was not met and yet they refuse to refund that money.. Not only was my stuff late but I had not been contacted by anyone...I had to call them 4 times to even get them to try to find out where my stuff was but the company they used was closed so they had to wait for them to email to find out what was going on. THEY PROMISED ME 500$ FOR THE LATE DELIVERY WHICH I NEVER RECIEVED.

Our experience with Safe Ship was great! The company is competitively priced. They were easy to work with in making the arrangements and they kept us up-to-date as the time neared the move. On the day of the move we were contacted by the drivers and they were prompt and efficient. Gustavo and James were professional and polite, and they loved our dog! Total scammers! For real reviews by real people look at FACEBOOK Safe Ship Consumer Alert. Safe Ship will give you the initial price(you then sign a contract, give them a hefty deposit), A week before you move they will go over the amount of items and raise the price almost doubling it(which you are screwed because the 3 day cancellation period is over). Then on the day of delivery they will charge more! We went from 14k to 19k to 24k! You will have no choice but to pay them. Steer clear of these scammers. They also hire day laborers who have no experience and no care because they wont be there to unload.

Safe Ship arranged my cross country move. They picked up my household items today. The crew were right on time, with ample manpower and supplies. They got straight to work taping, wrapping and padding everything very efficiently and very quickly. They were amazing! Polite and very careful with all of the items. I would highly recommend them.

I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience with Safe Ship Moving Company was so frustrating that I feel obligated to warn others. From the start, communication was extremely poor. I attempted to reach customer service more than 18 times, and nearly every call resulted in being placed on hold for exactly 14 minutes and 59 seconds before the line automatically disconnected. Reaching a live representative was nearly impossible, which made an already stressful move significantly worse. The delivery timeline was unreliable and constantly shifting. I was initially told one date, then another, and ultimately had to adjust my plans multiple times. Because my son was relocating to Columbus for a new job and did not know anyone locally, I had to fly in and wait for the delivery myself. This resulted in unexpected expenses, including a hotel stay costing $360 per night and a $180 airline change fee.

So far everything has been awesome. I highly recommend. And pricing has been awesome also. They do work with you.

I want to write this for anyone thinking of using this service. Please don’t, especially if you are a woman. This is a long story but it is verifiable with pictures and recordings. We reached out to safe ship to move from Arizona to Rhode Island. The pickup was problematic as the price quoted was not correct. I can understand small deviations but we reported sizes and boxes. On pickup the demand was 3k more. Afterwards everything was quiet. Upon arriving at the new house they told us it would be another 7k. We called and spoke to management. They reported the payment was for drop off. The issue was the driver stated the drop off was due to how the truck was packed with another persons stuff in the back causing them to only be able to use the right door, which would not work at our home. We were told by management after providing this recording there was no fee.

The process of booking and packing and moving went smoothly. The day of the pickup was handled professionally, efficiently, and in a friendly, attentive way. They packed things quickly and carefully. The handling of furniture was efficient, but careful to protect everything. The creation of the final packing list was efficient and accurate. The on-site payment was what the estimate promised.

If I could give this company a zero Stars I would. They do not complete the job and then have to come back and then they return in a car. Very unprofessional and have hidden charges that they don't tell you until your items are 25 days past due for delivery, then they tell you that you have to hire another company because their truck is too big to come down your road. Your only other option is to pay their fee because if you don't pay their fee, they charge you extra at the end then their option is to return your items to their storage facility and charge you more money to store it. People, beware, this is not a company you want to use!!!

The hard sell got me in the door but from that point onward it has been impossible to communicate with customer service or QA. Many hours spent on hold or talking to buggy inadequate AI bots to the point that, today, I canceled my move with less than 10 days to go, giving up my deposit, and going with another company.

This is a bait and switch company. They will give you a good quote and then later after they have the deposit they will tell you you need to pay more. I somehow got out of my contract after the sales quality guy Jacob was very rude to me and said he hopes they leave my furniture in my driveway.

We contracted with Safe Ship Movers for our move. Anthony and Alex from East Coast Movers Group working with Safe Ship, arrived within the two hour window that was estimated. They called one hour prior and again five minutes prior to arrival for our furniture pick up. The moving team called and asked when was the soonest they could start. Then delivered an expected move of ~2days minimum, on the same day (after asking if it was okay). They did an excellent job, staff asked what I wanted where and were quick and effective while moving everything from small boxes to the couch.

DO NOT CONTACT THIS COMPANY. They don't do any moving themselves. They're a sales company that focuses on sleazy and high pressure sales tactics. They will call you over 10 times a day trying to get you to use their services, pressuring you, demeaning other companies, and generally being incredibly unpleasant to you to try to pressure you into using their services.

Initially, everything was great. Did a great careful job packing and loading at my home. However, the carrier that brought our items across the country had his truck stuffed so full that boxes were nearly crushed. The leg of a handmade cherry wood table is damaged. As I watch them open the door I could not believe how my property was just stuffed inside this truck with absolutely no consideration to damaging anything. It was just get it on the truck. Our property is currently in storage as our new home is not quite ready. Consequently, it will be several weeks before we start on packaging these boxes and see what’s broken. This was a premium priced move. I thought I had hired a premium priced company, but the ball definitely was dropped with the carrier.

They did a good job loading stuff into the truck; however, AFTER everything was already loaded onto their truck, I got a call demanding an extra $400 for a “shuttle” to deliver my belongings. Suddenly, they’re pointing at some buried clause in a long document I signed and its addendum, using it as justification to squeeze more money out of me. Classic bait-and-switch. They know exactly what they’re doing — wait until your entire life is sitting in their truck, then start “discovering” extra fees you supposedly agreed to.

They were on time and got in and out really fast and kept me updated the whole time since I wasn’t physically there and I had a friend there for me.

Safe Ship Moving. We moved from a 4-bedroom storage in California to Texas on May 22, 2026. The team arrived right on time and was ready to start. They arrived early which was helpful. They handled our fragile items with great care, wrapping everything securely. The communication was excellent; they kept us updated throughout the process. The pricing was clear with no hidden fees, which we appreciated. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend them!

Do not use this company. They make promises they don't keep because they are a moving broker and don't do the move. They hire small, irresponsible movers to do the work. Also, they told me there would be 4 people at both the move out and move in. Wrong. In both cases, there were only 2 people. And they never mentioned they were a broker and wouldn't be doing the move.

I paid a $1,805.84 deposit based on an original “binding estimate” of $3,626.19. Later, during the required QA/inventory review call, my estimate suddenly jumped to over $4,300 with very little actually added to my move (trash can, crib mattress, lamp, child’s activity center). The staff were very professional, courteous, and efficient. From the beginning, they understood clearly what we needed. When the moving team arrived at our initial destination, they handled all our furniture with care and make sure everything was properly packed and secured. Only problem was on time arrival, which did not happen either on the origin or the destination, but it’s a relatively minor issue. This is only their review of the first part of our move.

I accidentally asked for their services because I thought they were another company. After they called me back, I told them that I didn't need them. But the calls kept coming. I repeatedly said I didn't need them, but they kept questioning if I was going to use U-Haul or someone else. Again, I repeated that I just didn't need them. That should have been the end of it. But the calls increased, like they were intentionally doing it because I didn't want to use them. I finally put it in the hands of the Attorney General. Now they're looking into it.

I can only share my experience with Safe Ship Moving for the pickup of my belongings, since the delivery has not been scheduled yet. Being an extremely skeptical consumer, due to my wise old age, I was most impressed! One of their representatives is always available to answer any questions or to reassure you that, as a broker, they want to keep their customers informed and happy. Our mover handled my son's belongings with care, were on time, worked hard to get everything done in a reasonable length of time and with good attitudes.

We've had really bad luck in the past with previous moving companies. Our experience with Safe Ship has been the polar opposite. Pricing was fair given the move quantity and distance. And insurance up to 10k for any potential damage was included (instead of being an add on you have to pay more money for with other companies we've used). Would honestly use them again.

This was the first time I have hired a moving brokerage company due to all the horror stories you hear and read in reviews and was very leary of doing so, but to my surprise, SafeShip was a great brokerage firm to work with. Everything flowed just as planned and I had no surprise costs at the end of the move. The moving company they hired for me was great as well. I was kind of skeptical at first because I've never moved far enough to hire a moving company so I did not know what to expect but I found Safe Ship and to my surprise, they quoted me a price that I could actually afford. Fast forward to moving day, I was so impressed with the punctuality of the moving team, as soon as they arrived, they got straight to work wrapping all of my things in plastic wrap to ensure the safety of my of all of my stuff. Day of move, May 19, 2026. Movers show up. Count items....Additional $2000 needed or they wouldn't start loading. Had to pay, needed to move that day. Buyer of house moving in next day because of home sale. Paid added fee. I drive to VA. Call days later to get date of delivery. No response. Call all numbers I had previously to get info. I was finally contacted, but no estimated date for delivery. 16 days later delivery made. Mover show up, charge additional fee because there was a turn in stairwell. Told movers that was made clear before move was booked. Movers said they wouldn't unload until we paid fee.

Updated on 06/18/2026: A customer service rep reached out to me after this, promising to "look into it" and "make the rest of the move go smoothly" after I posted the first review, and I requested to be told when I would know the delivery date for my stuff. If I had to pay extra money to "guarantee" that my stuff would arrive within 5 days of my requested date, Monday 06/15, I wanted to know when to expect my things. He said ok.

Steve was fantastic during my move. He was efficient, on time, and communicated clearly throughout the entire process. Since I wasn’t present during the move, he made a very stressful situation much easier by keeping me updated and being so helpful. I really appreciated his professionalism and would highly recommend him!

Second time we used this company. Every piece of furniture was wrapped in blankets and shrink wrapped. That was the main reason we used them again. The guys were courteous and competent on their job. I highly recommend them
