    Our moving crew was very friendly, courteous and so professional. They were done loading everything (and there was a lot and we lived in a basement apartment) in 5 hours. How they managed going up and down the stairs I'll never know but I could not have asked for a better crew! I would highly recommend Safe Ship to anyone needing to move!!

    If you're thinking of using this moving company, I would turn and run. The whole experience was horrible. Our initial estimate went relatively smoothly. The guy assured us that a week before our move-out date, there would be another call to go over the final packing list and specifics, so we didn't need exact measurements. We only learned during that later call that he had put in the smallest-sized items to make the initial estimate seem reasonable. When we had that later call, our price estimate increased by over 50%, more than $1,500 higher than before. By then, it was too late. When we pressed the QA rep who did the second call, he just said we shouldn't have signed the initial contract. Apparently, it was our fault we didn't know the first guy had put in the wrong information and that we didn't know we got scammed.

    After all of that, we were told the actual movers, who aren't Safe Ship because Safe Ship is just a broker, a middleman, would call us 24-48 hours before they came to give us an estimate of their arrival. We had to call Safe Ship customer service to get in contact with the movers since we were never contacted. We were then told the movers were scheduled for 9-11 a.m. the next day. The movers were supposed to call us 30 minutes before they arrived so we could expect them. There was no call. They just knocked on our door at 9:15 a.m.

    The actual movers themselves were very nice in person. We were told by Safe Ship that our delivery date at our new apartment would be 0-7 business days from the first available day, but the movers would be able to narrow that down when they picked up our things. The movers weren't able to narrow it down. Two days later, I emailed the movers and called Safe Ship (since I didn't have the movers' number) to see if they had an estimated delivery date. They couldn't get in contact with the movers. I called multiple times that day, and it was the same answer. The next day, the same thing.

    Finally, at 8 p.m., three days after pickup, the movers responded to Safe Ship, saying that in 2-3 days they could narrow down the delivery window for us, but they didn't know anything further. Three days passed, and no answer. Four days after the movers finally responded, I called Safe Ship asking if they had an estimated delivery date. They did not. They again couldn't get in touch with the movers. The NEXT day, they finally got in contact with the movers, and the movers said they would be at our apartment either that day or the next. So, over a week after the initial pickup, the first time the movers were able to narrow it down, they said, "Oh, we may be there today." When I asked if they were able to say whether or not they'd actually come that day, Safe Ship couldn't get in contact with them.

    The movers called me at 9 p.m. that night, saying they'd be there around 8 a.m. the following morning. Again, the actual movers were very nice when they were in person. I can't say enough bad things about this experience. Between the insane price increase, being patronized by the QA guy, and the movers being impossible to contact, this was a horrible experience. I would rather burn all my possessions and start over than ever use Safe Ship again. This company is a SCAM. They are not the movers. They are the middleman. They help in no way and take a huge cut of the estimate, driving up the price. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT use them. If you are thinking of using them, don't. If you are still in the 3-day window after initially booking them, cancel ASAP. If you're past that 3-day window, good luck.

    PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!! The absolute worst movers there could be and I’ve moved from country to country and states to states multiple times. First increase in price to have them complete the job so instead we had to move the items from the semi to our truck into our apartment (so imagine if we didn’t have truck to be able to do that). Then we call to ask for a a small refund since we were now tasked to do the job that we asked they were extremely rude, dismissive and saying we should’ve paid the extra money then (money that we just don’t have after moving coast to coast). They then blocked our numbers after we tried asking to speak to someone that could actually help us. I’m now leaving reviews anywhere and everywhere to warn other please save time money and a headache of this place. And for all of you reading the responses to these comments of one star reviews.

    I hope you noticed that they are also still not reaching out to the customers. They just say that “their team is working on it” and nothing is actually being made happened or changed, so they continue to know that they have these poor reviews and still do nothing about it. The cherry on top of all of this is that they also did not inform us on when our stuff with arrive and told us originally that it was going to be before the new month started but instead it was a week after and on July 4 a holiday, so quite a nuisance and again had no regard.

    Moved our daughter from LA to Philadelphia area. Had a couple quotes from reputable firms. Got one more and it was a mistake. They quoted me 1500 under my other quotes just to get the business. I was reluctant but went with it. They are not movers but find a mover. First payment goes directly to them. Movers they get collect the rest. When movers arrived, the cost increased by 3000 since they could not do it with the cost they were given. Safe Moving is not honest or have any professional ethics. They indicate they are veteran-owned but don’t let that fool you. Go with a company directly.

    Horrible experience. Save yourself the headache and money you will be spending with all the other expenses you will be accumulating. The extra money they will charge you calling it an elevator fee because they have to use your elevator if you live in an apartment or the extra money you will be spending hiring pest control once you receive your items and they are roach infested. Never had roaches in the four years. I was living in my apartment. Decided to buy a brand new house. No roaches at all. Safe ship moving truck arrives. I have them place boxes in garage so I can do inventory. And what do you know they bring in my boxes. Open one to see if any of my items were damaged because boxes were all beat up and bam a baby roach 🪳 comes running out. I killed it as soon as I could.

    I informed the delivery guy and he laughed it off. This has been a horrible experience with this company from start to finish. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Also delayed delivery. Only received items after countless attempts to reach someone and after leaving an initial bad review is the only time we received a response and an eta.

    Moving only 400 miles on June 15th 2026. They didn’t show up. They called and requested that they will come on June 17th. On June 17th they showed up hours late and moved my property out of the house. Today is July 3rd 2026 and I still don’t have my possessions moved. They have made every excuse in the book, not to delivering my possessions. Imagine being without everything you own for three weeks? Don’t hire this broker and delivery service! They don’t have the 9.8 rating they claim to.

    Hired Safe Ship for a move from Illinois to Florida. They brokered it Integrity Movers who packed the home. My parents are seniors, my dad a Navy vet. Upon delivery, noticed items stacked on boxes marked fragile. After a week of unboxing, notice multiple items broken and total disrespect for their personal property. They filed a claim and were offered $75.00. How disgusting, to treat seniors' personal property like garbage and then offer basically nothing for their broken property. Plus this move cost them 22k, you should not be rated a top company, when you broker out to terrible movers.

    Worst experience ever. They did not show up, no notice of phone call. Came next day after multiple calls and waiting on hold for way too long. AI receptionist of no help. Sent truck next day with no moving pads, and driver quoted three times the contracted price. Horrible experience. Hopefully we can get deposit back.

    On May 31, 2026, Safe Ship Moving Services (SSMS) and Azimuth Group, Inc provided me with a moving quote of $10,903.56 based on an itemized inventory list that included the inventory, the quantity of the inventory, the volume of the inventory, and the weight of the inventory in 3 storage units. The list was created by Need It Moved, the company that placed the items in the 3 storage units last year. I signed a contract with SSMS on June 1, 2026, with the understanding that the quote is $10,903.56. On the date of pick up (June 27th) at the Extra Space Storage facility in Columbia, SC, Azimuth Group Inc, the carrier for SSMS, decided to charge me an additional $2,084.06 by claiming there were unaccounted cubic feet. This is despite the fact that SSMS had an inventory list that not only contained all items in the storage units, but also the total volume and weight, since May 31st.

    Azimuth Group Inc gave me the option to either pay the extra $2,084.06 or they would leave all my items in the third storage unit behind. This is classic bait and switch where an initial estimate was provided in a signed contract, but on the date of the actual service, there is a substantial price increase. I have escalated this matter to upper management at SSMS, but no resolution that honors the original contract was reached. It is important to note that although the pickup date in Columbia, SC, was June 27th, and the delivery location is in Bel Air, MD, as of June 30, 2026, I have not received any of my items.

    DO NOT sign the form they send you initially without reviewing it CAREFULLY! They rush you through what all you have then don't put it all on the list and tell you to sign it so they can get it booked. Then they call and go over your inventory again later and claim they didn't know of all the items and want to charge you MORE! They then blame it on you for signing the first form. DO NOT TRUST them!

    This is a horrible company. It is such a scam. They have had our goods since early June and there is no word on delivery date. It is a moving target. From the "first available delivery date," sometimes they say it will be 10 business days, sometimes 21, and sometimes 30 business days. They have made zero effort to actually move the goods and have provided zero information. I wanted out of my contract and to get the goods and rive them myself, but they will not provide that. They are holding my things hostage! At this rate, it could be November before I get them.

    I paid over 5000.00 dollars to move my stuff from Florida to Georgia. They set all my dressers upside down. Broke the door off my buffet. It was a total disaster.

    Customer Experience and the contracted carrier have offered compensation and a resolution that I have accepted as fair. While it does not completely make up for the stress of the experience, I feel they acted in a professional manner to resolve the loss of my items.

    Whatever you do, use another company for your long-distance move. This was, without question, the worst customer service experience I've ever had. The process started with what felt like a bait-and-switch on pricing, followed by major delivery delays and a complete lack of accountability. I was initially given an estimate that ended up being nearly half of what I ultimately paid. During the inventory process, the salesperson added descriptors like "child-size" and "small" to several of my items. I didn't catch those changes at the time, but when Quality Assurance completed the final inventory, my quote nearly doubled.

    The carrier made a clerical regarding my First Available Delivery Date, saying I could not receive my belongings for almost 30 days. I had an Air Tag in my property, and watched it sit in a truck in the Las Vegas heat for almost two weeks as a result of this error. Safe Ship refused to offer any compensation because, according to them, it didn't technically violate the terms of their contract. That may be true contractually, but it doesn't make the experience acceptable. Ironically, the movers themselves, who I observed smoking marijuana in the loading dock after unloading my belongings, actually did a good job handling my furniture. Under different circumstances, I wouldn't have even mentioned it. However, after everything else that went wrong, it only added to my concerns about the professionalism of the overall experience.

    I'm still missing my toolbox and one of my tables. My totes and trash bin were also very damaged when I received them. I opened an escalation request asking to be compensated for all the issues, and to have my charges adjusted back to the original quoted amount. The response from Customer Experience was essentially that because I would only accept the original quoted price, they would not offer any compensation for the pricing discrepancy, the delivery delay, or my missing items. This company caused far more stress than any move should. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

    They promise you the moon when they want to close the deal. Afterwards, I left various messages to the agent Zachery, who promised that he will always be there if I had any questions. Left messages various time and never got a call back. Same goes for his brother, Jason. After they hook you, they don't care, all talk up front and no help afterward. Next time, there won't be a next time. I will be more careful.

    Some people obviously have had a good experience with Safe Ship, and I am honestly glad for them. My experience was very poor and I would never want anyone to go through what I did. The main complaints I have with them is as follows:

    - Confusing sales process, conflicting information regarding moving instructions. I talked to multiple people during this process and they all said different conflicting things.

    - Unnecessary pressure to sign. Safe Ship really wants you to sign a moving agreement, so much so that the sales people will hound your phone until you do. I felt like I was at a used car dealership. This should have been my first sign to go with a different option.

    - Tons of guarantees, nothing to back them up. I had a horrible experience with the mover they chose, and when it came time to do something about it, they wore me down by making it incredibly difficult to talk to someone who could help. By the time I reached their "highest level" of support, I had explained my entire story 5 times, and then had to do it a 6th time, because either no one was leaving notes or no one was reading them.

    - The movers (chosen and guaranteed by Safe Ship to be high quality) failed to show up even remotely on time and they packed my things poorly, causing many things to be damaged. They blatantly disregarded instructions I gave them about specific boxes / items, almost as though I didn't exist at all. I did not get the sense that they really cared at all.

    When I tried to work with Safe Ship to resolve the poor experience, they consistently waived away my issues and blamed everything on the movers (as though they weren't the ones Safe Ship chose and guaranteed). They eventually offered me a very small "credit" in the form of a LEGAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT waiving them of all responsibility and having me admit they were not at fault, while also limiting my ability to speak out about the experience. They refused to issue any kind of standard credit despite my thorough documentation of the issue.

    In Summary: I just don't see the value in what Safe Ship brings to the table. They are just a broker that gets a finder's fee with the "guarantee" that they will make sure you get a quality mover. It is clear to me that they are just banking on the likelihood that your experience with the mover goes well enough, but if it doesn't, they really don't have much incentive to help you. You might as well save some money and go directly through a shipper if you can, or you can do what I have done in the past and use a container shipping service and pack things yourself, that way you know it is being done correctly.

    Lesson learned, I won't be using Safe Ship again and I highly recommend that you think long and hard before doing so. To anyone from Safe Ship reading this, I gave you tons of chances to correct my experience, but you chose not to. You were very difficult to work with through the entire process and at no point did I feel like you words carried any weight behind them.

    Updated on 07/08/2026: This experience only became more frustrating during their attempt to resolve the situation. Safe Ship had the third-party moving company send me a settlement document to sign that contained contradictory and confusing language. Before signing, I had the document reviewed and was advised not to sign it unless several provisions were revised. I submitted my requested changes, but they refused to modify any of the language. Shortly afterward, Safe Ship emailed me stating they had done everything in their power to help resolve the issue. That was not consistent with my experience. No meaningful effort was made to address my concerns or negotiate reasonable revisions to the document.

    Based on the legal advice I received, signing the document as written could have exposed me to unnecessary legal risk. I did not believe it fairly reflected the circumstances or adequately protected my interests. I hired Safe Ship to coordinate my move, and I believe they should have taken responsibility for resolving the problems and issuing an appropriate refund without requiring me to sign a document that I was advised not to accept. Overall, I felt misled throughout this process, from the initial promises to the attempted resolution. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage others to carefully review all paperwork and consider other moving companies before choosing Safe Ship.

    Original review: I would strongly discourage anyone from using Safe Ship Moving Services. From the beginning, I felt I was misled. The initial quote increased dramatically throughout the moving process, with additional charges that were never disclosed when I booked the move. I was promised delivery within 2–12 business days, but my belongings didn't arrive for more than 23 days. During that time, I lived in an empty apartment and had to miss work because I had no reliable delivery date. I was also told that Safe Ship only uses veterans with more than 10 years of moving experience. That was not my experience, and I was never informed that my move would be subcontracted to a third-party moving company.

    Customer service was excellent while they were trying to earn my business. Once my belongings were delayed, however, communication became extremely difficult. Calls went unanswered, and when I was finally able to speak with someone, I was treated dismissively. A customer service manager named Anthony accused me of lying when I questioned whether he had returned my call, despite my phone records showing otherwise. Being spoken to that way while trying to locate everything I owned was incredibly frustrating. Overall, the lack of transparency, escalating costs, poor communication, and significant delivery delay made this one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had.

    Never got to the physical move. I did cancel within the 72 hr window but customer service reps delayed actually cancelling the order until after the 72 hr window so the company could keep the entire deposit. Customer service was pleasant to speak with while the canceling department was in a hurry to conclude their business in their favor in my opinion.

    Safe Ship is a moving coordinator not a moving company. They get poor moving that are in your area. The moving company we got did not speak English and they broke most of what they moved. It was the worst experience ever. They delivered the furniture in 18 hours, 1100 miles away before we could even get there and 4 days before they agreed to. They were rude and damaged things that could not be repaired or replaced. They took a brand new refrigerator and dragged it on its side to put in the truck. We had a lot of items that we paid a lot extra to wrap and they started just throwing in boxes.

    I hired Safe Ship to move all my household good from Eastford Connecticut to the Des Moines Iowa area. I did a video walk through with them to determine the shipping cost. We went through each room doing a video chat so their so called expert could see what was in each room. Their expert saw each bed that had to be moved asked question about different things in each room. How ever she failed to ask if there was a box spring under each mattress. Going by the video chat their expert had determined how many of various size boxes it was going to take to pack everything up..

    I was initially going to have them pack the shipping boxes but to save money we did it our selves. But just a day before the scheduled pick up date they said there were additional charges for various items such as the box springs, the number of boxes and various other charges. After everything was over and done with they charged me over $2k more than the initial estimate. Communications were terrible. You could never get the same person on the phone even though on my first call to them I was told that I would be dealing with him through the entire process, that was a lie.

    I've been through several military moves during my career in the U.S. Coast Guard and never experienced anything like this. I was lied to, and had been taken advantage of. They schedule to confirm the number of boxes and all of the items that are to picked up, then they spring the additional cost on you. They are thieves. A few of my items were damaged in the move but I did not file a claim because I never wanted to deal with them again, so I replace the items myself. They say that they are Veteran owned. If this is how they treat Veterans then I would certainly hate to see how they would treat the average civilian. I would rent a U-Haul next time before I would hire this company to move my household goods.

    This company is a scam - they get your money, but do not schedule the move per the agreement. They switched my move time at the last minute and did not contact me. When I tried to call them, they did not answer and did not call me back. Had to request a quote on order to get people on the phone. I was not allowed to talk to anyone in charge. They were trying to sending movers to my house for a full pack at 9 pm. I am a single woman, they were going to be at my house until 1 am. I for delayed and had to incur additional costs! The movers did not know it was a full pack. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY DECEIVE YOU AND DO NOT DO THEIR JOB. I would give stars. They present as movers, they are brokers. This is a shady company, parading as a veteran-owned business.

    Avoid Safe Ship at all costs. Their movers were rude, dropped my belongings, and left without confirming they'd taken everything. After I gave the required 7 days' notice for delivery, I waited 27 days while Safe Ship blamed their subcontractor DBS, who was completely unresponsive (no callbacks, no confirmed emails, no delivery date) while Safe Ship deflected responsibility back onto them. When delivery finally happened, I got only a few hours' notice despite asking for as much advance warning as possible, and was hit with surprise "long walk" fees that were never written down, and have still not received my final receipt - these guys are clearly incompetent.

    The Safe Ship team was Professional from the first phone call. They were friendly on the phone while discussing my options. They corrected a mistake I made with my dates and made the move happen when I needed it most.     If I could give this company zero stars, I would. From the beginning, the experience was frustrating and unprofessional. They required a 50% deposit upfront to secure the move, which I agreed to based on the “locked in” pricing discussed. However, during the Quality Assurance call, I was suddenly quoted nearly $4,000 more than the original estimate. At that point, I felt completely misled because I had already put money down on this move and could not back out.

    Unfortunately, the problems didn’t stop there. The company then sent incorrect information to the movers who were actually responsible for handling the relocation. As a result, the crew arrived with the wrong-sized truck, creating even more stress and confusion on moving day. Despite these mistakes being entirely on their end, we were still expected to pay the additional $4,000.

    I work in physician recruitment and regularly assist doctors and their families with relocation. Based on this experience, I would never recommend this company and will actively advise others to look elsewhere. Moving is already one of life’s most stressful experiences. Instead of making the process easier, this company added unnecessary headaches, poor communication, pricing surprises, and avoidable mistakes every step of the way. If you value transparency, competence, and peace of mind when moving your belongings, I strongly recommend choosing a different company. This experience was absolutely unacceptable.

    Safe Ship Moving Services was no help in resolving this matter despite additional fees paid for added protection and support during the moving process. Following my interstate move, disputes arose regarding services and payment issues involving EZ Movers & Storage LLC. After pursuing legal remedies, I obtained a court judgment against EZ Movers & Storage LLC. Despite service of process, court proceedings, and post-judgment notice, the judgment remains unpaid. I am sharing this so consumers understand the importance of thoroughly researching all brokers and carriers involved, carefully reviewing contracts, and keeping detailed records of all communications and payments.

    I had a terrible experience with this moving company. Normally, I am not the type of person to leave reviews. However, in this case, I could not stay silent and let my experience go unheard. Hopefully, my comments will help others who are considering this company for their moving services and allow them to avoid the same experience I had.

    To provide some context, I needed to move my furniture from Virginia to Georgia. On 6/7/26, I submitted a quote request through the company's website. I needed my furniture delivered to Georgia by 6/11/26, or no later than 6/12/26. This was my first time hiring movers, so there were many things I was unaware of during the process.

    When I initially spoke with the sales representative, I was led to believe they would be able to move my furniture within my requested timeframe. Although I specifically requested a pickup date of 6/10/26, they changed it to a pickup window of 6/10–6/11 for no apparent reason. Additionally, I have driven from Virginia to Georgia multiple times, and the trip typically takes between 7–9 hours. Based on that, I assumed the movers could deliver my furniture the same day or within one to two days at most.

    The sales representative assured me that delivery would occur between 6/11 and 6/12, which was important because I had an obligation to attend on Saturday, 6/13. Throughout the call, the sales representative repeatedly emphasized that they were "the number two moving company in the world" and that they were receiving a high volume of calls. He used a considerable amount of pressure to get me to book immediately at the price they quoted. In fact, he would not even allow me to get off the phone for a few minutes to discuss the quote with my fiancée. He repeatedly asked, "What do you need to discuss with her?" and claimed he could not guarantee that the pickup slot would remain available. It felt like a series of pressure tactics designed to get me to commit on the spot.

    I eventually ended the call and discussed the quote with my fiancée to make sure we were comfortable moving forward. While we ultimately decided to proceed, I did not appreciate being pressured when I simply wanted a few minutes to discuss the decision with her. The sales representative also assured me that all of my furniture could be moved and did not mention any restrictions regarding specific items. As I described the furniture, I needed transported, he informed me that I was under their minimum space requirement and could actually add more items, which I found helpful. After paying my deposit, I was transferred to Quality Assurance (QA) to document everything that would be moved. Unfortunately, that is when the problems really began.

    During my conversation with QA, they informed me of several restrictions that the sales representative had never mentioned. This was also when I learned that delivery was not guaranteed within a day or two. Instead, they explained that delivery could occur anywhere from 1–30 business days after pickup. They could not provide an estimated delivery date and stated that delivery would likely occur on a weekend. This directly contradicted what I had been told by the sales representative. QA advised me that I would need to speak with the delivery driver after pickup to learn when my furniture would actually arrive. They noted my request for expedited delivery but could not provide any guarantees.

    Additionally, QA informed me that all furniture, clothing, and other belongings had to be packed in boxes or containers. I was told I could not use trash bags for clothing, despite the sales representative previously telling me that it would be acceptable. As a result, I had to spend the remainder of the day repacking my belongings to avoid additional charges from the pickup crew.

    To improve the chances of meeting my desired delivery timeframe, I changed my pickup window from 6/10–6/11 to 6/9–6/10. The change was confirmed, and I finalized the inventory of items to be moved later that evening. On 6/8, I received a confirmation call from the pickup crew advising me that they would arrive on 6/9 at 9:00 a.m. I confirmed the appointment and again asked about delivery between 6/11 and 6/12. Once again, I was told to speak with the driver on pickup day.

    Later that night, around 10:30 p.m., I received a text confirming my 9:00 a.m. pickup appointment for the next morning. Approximately 20 minutes later, I received another text stating that my pickup date had been changed to 6/10/26 and apologizing for the inconvenience. Naturally, I was confused. I had already confirmed the appointment and reserved my apartment's loading dock. When I called customer service, one representative told me the date had indeed changed and that there was nothing they could do. I was then transferred to another representative who told me my pickup was still scheduled for 6/9. At that point, it was clear that different departments were providing completely different information.

    On 6/9, the movers arrived. I have nothing negative to say about the pickup crew. They were professional, courteous, and handled my belongings appropriately. It also appeared that they were an independent contractor rather than direct employees of Safe Ship. I asked them about the delivery date, but they simply advised me to wait for a call from the delivery driver, who was supposedly required to contact me 12 hours before arrival. At this point, it felt like an endless cycle of being referred from one person to another, with nobody actually able to tell me when my belongings would arrive. The pickup crew did note in my file that I needed delivery by 6/11–6/12.

    Later that same day, I received a call from Safe Ship advising me that my pickup appointment would not occur until 6/10. I informed them that my furniture had already been picked up that morning. The representative seemed surprised, which was alarming. No customer wants to hear that the moving company handling their belongings is not aware of where those belongings are. The representative quickly acknowledged that the mistake was on their end, but this was now the second instance of major communication issues within the company. Over the next few days, I received no updates regarding delivery. Finally, on 6/11, I called customer service and was told that my furniture "might" arrive on Sunday, 6/14.

    When Sunday arrived, I finally received a call from the delivery driver. He informed me that he was leaving Maryland and expected to arrive in Georgia on Monday, 6/15. I was shocked. My furniture had already been picked up six days earlier, and I assumed it would have at least been halfway to Georgia by then. On Monday, I received another call from the driver advising me that he would not reach Georgia until approximately 11:00 p.m. He recommended rescheduling delivery for Tuesday morning, 6/16.

    By that point, I was extremely frustrated. The delivery date had long passed the timeframe originally promised, and I continued receiving last-minute updates that completely altered my plans. Anyone who has moved understands how difficult it is to repeatedly adjust moving schedules when essential items such as beds, televisions, clothing, and household necessities are involved. I had no choice but to wait again. The new delivery window was scheduled for 6/16 between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. When 6/16 arrived, the driver did not show up until approximately 10:45 a.m. and never informed me that he would be late. I spent the entire morning waiting, which only added to the stress and frustration.

    To be fair, once the driver arrived, he unloaded everything properly. I am happy to report that none of my furniture or belongings were damaged, scratched, or broken during the move. After the unloading was complete, I asked about the assembly service I had been promised. Specifically, I requested assistance assembling a daybed that had been moved. During pickup, I had been informed that they could not officially reassemble the bed because it was not a standard model. However, I was told that if I asked the delivery driver and provided a tip, he might be willing to help.

    I explained the situation to the driver, and he agreed to give it a try. I even allowed him to use my toolbox while I assembled other items in another room. Eventually, he told me he was finished. From what I could see, it appeared the bed had been assembled because the mattresses were already placed on top of the frame. Believing the work was complete, I tipped him $100. That was my mistake.

    After he left, I removed the mattresses and discovered that the bed had not actually been assembled. Several boards, screws, and frame pieces were misplaced, crooked, or completely unfinished. It appeared that the mattresses had been strategically placed over the frame to conceal the incomplete work. Rather than being honest about not finishing the assembly, he accepted the tip and left. While I acknowledge that I should have inspected the work before tipping, I still found the situation dishonest and disappointing.

    To make matters worse, after everything was finished, I noticed that one of my tools was missing from my toolbox. Specifically, my socket wrench could not be found. I cannot say for certain what happened to it, but it was there before the assembly work began and missing afterward, which only added to my frustration with the entire experience.

    In summary, I would not recommend this company. There appears to be a significant lack of communication and coordination between departments, contractors, and customer service representatives. Throughout the process, I was constantly referred to different people who either did not know where my furniture was or could not provide an accurate delivery timeline. The company relies heavily on third-party contractors, making it difficult to get clear answers or confidence that everyone is working from the same information. Most frustratingly, the promises made during the sales process were very different from the reality I experienced after paying my deposit. It felt like the goal was simply to secure the booking, and only afterward did the true details of the service become apparent. I hope this review helps someone avoid the same frustrating experience that I had.

    Throughout the move, communication was disorganized and inconsistent. Different representatives provided conflicting information regarding pickup and delivery dates, and multiple departments seemed unaware of what others had communicated. At one point, the company even called to tell me my pickup had not occurred despite my furniture already being loaded onto a truck earlier that day.

    The pickup crew itself was professional and handled my belongings well, but the overall coordination and customer service were disappointing. My furniture was not delivered within the promised timeframe, and I received several last-minute changes that forced me to repeatedly adjust my plans. Essential items such as my bed, clothes, and household necessities were unavailable much longer than expected.

    When delivery finally occurred, my belongings arrived undamaged, which was one of the few positive aspects of the experience. However, I tipped the driver after he claimed to have assembled my daybed, only to discover later that much of it had been left unfinished. I also noticed a tool missing from my toolbox afterward, which added to my frustration.

    Overall, the company appeared poorly coordinated, heavily reliant on third-party contractors, and unable to provide accurate updates regarding the status of my move. The promises made during the sales process did not match the reality of the service I received. While my belongings arrived safely, the stress, poor communication, missed expectations, and overall experience are enough for me to strongly discourage others from using this company.

    This company is a vendor that organizes moves rather than providing them; in my case they wanted to take 30% of the cost of the move merely for setting it up. The salesperson did not make a good-faith effort to include all items, low-balling the estimate. For example, he failed to estimate or inquire about the contents of furniture such as large bookcases, nor did he ask about nightstands or wall hangings. The salesperson pressured me to sign the contract while I was on the phone. I was asked to sign without even seeing the details of what was included in the estimate. Changing the estimate is not possible until 3-5 days before the move, so we had no way to fix it until we were completely locked in. However, I was assured that I could cancel with a full refund if I did so within 72 hours.

    When I called to cancel less than 24 hours after signing, I was transferred to a woman whose job was to argue me out of it. She was disingenuous and profoundly disrespectful, talking over me and trying to wear me out with never-ending arguments. I had to shout at her to eventually be transferred to someone who managed the cancellation. However, she finally did so, and I was able to cancel the agreement (which they were legally required to do.) I got my 50% payment back very quickly.

    I came to conclude that, while this company may not be entirely a scam, many of its employees are highly manipulative. It is the opposite of transparent. Its processes are designed to trap you into an agreement that will end up costing you more than you expect. I lost all faith in the integrity of this company. I believe that they manipulate reviews; my review on the BBB website was held up, although it is essentially the same as this one.

    This company does not actually move anything; they are just a middleman taking money to get you an actual moving company. Anyway, I moved out of state and had (yes, had) a toolbox. Safe Ship wanted an additional $500 to move the toolbox. Now, keep in mind, they do not actually move anything. They rolled it from my garage to the moving truck, which was a different company, Stanford Vanlines. They in turn charged me an additional $350 for said toolbox.

    In the end, Stanford vanlines destroyed my toolbox (so much for paying $850 extra for SPECIAL HANDLING!). Now I am out the $850 extra handling and the $1000 to replace said toolbox. Safeship never passed on the $500 to Stanford, plus they wash their hands of any damage as they are NOT A MOVING COMPANY, and stanford vanlines is only offering a pittance to purchase a new one. DO NOT USE SAFESHIP MOVERS as they are NOT a moving company, only a BROKER, save your money and call a mover directly. Just stay away from Stanford Vanlines as they cannot handle anything over 200 pounds.

    Absolutely horrible experience with Safe Ship Moving Services. The original quote was completely misleading and the final charges ended up being thousands more than expected. Once they had my deposit, nobody seemed interested in helping or providing accurate information. Pickup was delayed, delivery was delayed, and communication was a disaster from start to finish. Several pieces of furniture arrived damaged with scratches, dents, and broken parts. Boxes looked like they had been thrown around, and some items were missing entirely. Every time I called, I received a different answer. Nobody took responsibility, and getting updates was nearly impossible.

    What should have been an exciting move turned into weeks of stress, frustration, and financial loss. This was by far the worst moving experience I have ever had. I would never use Safe Ship Moving Services or We Haul Moving Services again and would strongly advise others to do extensive research before trusting either company with their belongings.

The quote they provided was nowhere near the actual price, and once the carrier showed up, the cost increased dramatically.     The entire move turned into a nightmare. The pickup and delivery were delayed, several items arrived damaged, and some boxes were missing altogether.     Stay away from Safe Ship moving company, they broker your move with companies that are known to extort people, deliberately ruin your furniture if they don't get their 15 20% gratuity which they demand the first day they arrive to your apartment, they brokered my move with velocity movers, 2 minutes after velocity movers stepped in my apartment I was greeted with, "If you want your furniture delivered safely you will pay 15 to 20% gratuities to me right now," that is extortion, I asked if you can repeat that, he said, "I'm the ** who makes your stuff arrives in one piece, before we wrap one package one box you will pay this percentage or we cannot guarantee safe arrival of your furniture," so I paid the gratuity.

    When you call safe ship movers they will say, "We are so sorry. We did not know," but when you look at reviews not the phony reviews you see better business I don't understand how they got good reviews trustpilot I don't see how they get good reviews. I found hundreds of negative reviews. Safe ship will lie to you and they say they will get to the bottom of it but they never do, and then they'll delay your furniture, they promised to put it on a 26-ft truck 52 ft at most, but then they will arrive with a 75 for trailer and then they will say, "We can't get into your apartment complex, we're going to have to get a 26 for truck transfer your furniture over there and you need to pay an extra $350.

    I called the company to complain after the driver said he was leaving and I will not get my furniture for another several days because he will unload everything else on that truck before he comes back to drop my furniture off, once again extortion, when I called the company they sent the driver back only after I agreed to pay an extra $200, for what they call the long walk, mind you they could have went straight through the pool area straight to the elevator, he said he could not do that and proceeded to unload my furniture walking around the whole building and then the side door, there was absolutely no reason for him to do that other than the fact he wanted the extra money for the long walk.

    I agree to it because I wanted my furniture, then when I paid the bill the remaining balance, it was supposed to be $577, they wanted an extra $350. I settled on 200 and I paid with zelle, the driver gave me his cell account so the money went to his account $777, but when I signed the bill it was only for $577 so $200 went straight to his pocket. There's hundreds of complaints like that so when safe ship says they are not aware of this it's a lie. They know exactly what's going on. They don't care. They want your money.

    I would stay away from safe ship. Also stay away from velocity movers, THAT IS VELOCITY MOVERS, THEY ARE ANOTHER SCAM COMPANY. THAT'S THE COMPANY THAT EXTORTED ME COMING AND GOING, so if you think you're going to hire a company to make you move and then tip them when you get here when you go through safe ship they broker the deal out and you get hit 15% in the beginning and pick up and 15% to 20% at drop off plus the Long Walk charge which is $350 unless you negotiate, to the extortion and get them down to only $200.

    Stay away my friends, stay away, what bothered me the most is I tipped this gentleman 20%, it was only afterwards when I look at the bill I realized the money went to his account $777, and then he paid safe ship movers the balance of $577. That tells me safe ship knows what's going on, why would they accept payment from the driver as opposed of the customer? They know what's going on. They know what the drivers are doing and they're happy with it. They don't care. That's proof. Why would the driver pay the moving company? That's my job, I'd advise you to stay away from safe ship.

    I did not use Safe Ship for my move. I'm sure their moving teams are exceptional. It was the annoying nagging constant pressure from the sales team that lost me. I asked for a quote, filled out their online inventory to the best of my ability, was given a quote, told them I'm taking quotes from other companies, and I would get back to them. Immediately was asked to confirm my inventory with a moving specialist, who wanted to line-item by line-item through my inventory. I started the process, but quickly realized that I was wasting my time, and ended the call. The next morning I have a text from "Luis" saying my move is last minute and and calling him will be my best option. I answer the text, find out I'm not texting with Luis but with Chris?

    While I'm texting with Chris, explaining that I'm still gathering quotes and I'll get back to him after I've discussed those quotes with my husband, LUIS CALLS ME! I end the call swiftly, (and pretty rudely, to be honest) saying that I'm already texting with Chris. I tell Chris that I don't appreciate the high-pressure tactics and will not be using Safe Ship. He asks if I want him taken off the contact list. "Yes please, thank you for your time." That was at 8:31 am. Between 9:10 am and 9:15 am, while I was trying to eat breakfast, I had 3 more missed calls from Safe Ship. Then, just now, at 1:41 PM, I got another call. I reiterated that I won't be using Safe Ship, and to take me off the list. They may be great movers, but the high pressure sales lost me. (Also, for the price of their quote to move a 1 bedroom apartment's worth of stuff 30 miles, I could throw out most of what I own and replace it.)

    Upcharged then the movers hardly spoke English but could ask for a tip. They threw things in the truck. I had broken dishes, glasses and pots. These were some of the boxes and the state they were delivered. Also they delivered someone else’s stuff.

    This company is actively engaged in fraud: took our downpayment and then canceled the move without notifying us and refused to refund the downpayment and held our items hostage while they demanded more money or they would confiscate our belongings. Their website claims 5 star service, but this is untrue if you look beyond their website for actual reviews. Being veteran owned (if this is even true), does not mean you are dealing with honest people. If you want to be ripped off, lied to, have your items held hostage, and spend hours or days of your life dealing with criminals, then this is the service for you. It's particularly good if you don't care about your things. It would be cheaper to give everything away and buy new things after the move. They came to the house and provided an estimate to move our belongings from Las Vegas to Pennsylvania for a small household and a car. They gave an estimate, which we accepted in good faith.

    After paying 50% down we never heard from them again. When we called, they told us that they had canceled the move without letting us know and said that the downpayment was non-refundable. After hours on the phone with them, they said they would do the move, but for triple the price from $12,900 to ~$30,000. We got the move back on the books after finally settling on $19,700. However, they could not get the car mover booked, so we had to find a place the day before the move to get the car move arranged. This car move then became a separate additional cost. On the day of the move their subcontractor Plymouth told us that they needed $3k more because Safe Ship Moving Services had low-balled the cubic feet of our belongings. On this day, they loaded the contents onto a 26-foot truck, which both Safe Ship Movers and Plymouth promised would be the truck that would be used to move and deliver the items.

    The day before the furniture was to be delivered, we discovered that they had moved the items to another truck and had to pay another $1,600 dollars in order to get the items back onto a small truck to deliver them to us in a residential neighborhood. This call came from the truck driver vs. Safe Ship Movers or Plymouth, who both refused to engage and said we had to deal with this third-party truck driver directly. The truck driver said they would confiscate our items if we did not Zelle the money to him within a couple of hours.

    On the day of delivery, the truck driver called to say he would not deliver the items until we paid the remaining 50% balance for the move to him by cashiers check, which by contract was only to be paid after the move was completed. We had to meet him in a parking lot with the money before they would deliver the items. When we finally got our items, EVERYTHING was damaged, boxes were missing, and we unpacked multiple boxes of nothing but trash.

    I contracted with Safe Ship Moving Services to move my parents' goods from an assisted living facility in Texas to another one in Alabama in June of 2026. I would note in passing that when I called to get an indicative price for the move, I was met with a very high pressure sales effort that resulted in my contracting them for my parents' move. That was my first mistake. When they quoted the price to me, a supposedly firm price, they did so on the basis of my recollection of all of the major items in my parents' apartment. Then approximately 5 days before the scheduled move they did a video of their apartment and said they required $500 extra dollars because there was an undisclosed headboard (not an undisclosed bed but headboard). With no other option if I wanted my parents to move as scheduled, I paid them the additional money.

    Today they arrived to redeliver my parents' goods at the new location and told me I had to pay an additional $375. Initially they said this was because they had to use an elevator but when I called customer service to complain they said it was because they had to walk further than the quoted price required. Again, in order for my parents to be able to move into their apartment, I paid the additional money. These two charges represent a more than 10% increase in the price quoted. I am confident that the myriad of contract forms that the company pressures you to sign while on the phone with them give the company every tool they need to extort these kinds of extra charges from unwary customers but it is wrong and customers who deal with them should be aware of their duplicitous business practices

    I urge anyone who is thinking of contracting with Safe Ship Moving to read carefully the many contract forms the company requires you to sign. And read them before the 3 day period you have to cancel the contract. And download copies because they won't be available later. You will undoubtedly find a number of ways the company can justify price increases to you. Make sure you understand them all even you think on the basis of your telephone discussions with customer representatives that the extra costs are not applicable to you. They will be.

    Review of my experience with Safe Ship Moving:

    The Broker Trap: Safe Ship acts like a moving company but they just sell your contract to a third party. Once they collect their fee, customer service stops entirely. You cannot get your salesperson back on the phone.

    The Lies: They promised a specific delivery date and explicitly told me our items would be held in storage in Navarre, FL. Instead, our furniture was stored states away in Houston, TX.

    The Result: Our delivery was 2-1/2 weeks late. I had to call every single day to find out where our stuff was.

    The Damage: When the third party finally arrived, they were short-staffed and damaged both my couch and a door while trying to move a gun safe. Safe Ship will tell you whatever you want to hear to get your deposit, then leave you stranded with a third party. Do not use them.

    We had a horrific experience in 2021 that started when Safeship finally showed up to our house representing a vendor named “FebEx,” which was a logo just like the “FedEx” logo only with a “b” instead of a “d.” This was not a company we had any idea we’d be doing business with when we signed with Safeship. When doing research on “FebEx” the listed address was found to be a vacant lot in Reno, NV.

    We ended up being without all of our belongings for over 3 months with Safe Ship having no knowledge where our belongings were, were completely unhelpful and often times condescending, all while we were directed from the carrier to wire more money to an unknown number from a Russian guy named “Mikhail” who told us that if he didn’t receive these funds we would never see our things again. We were then led to multiple other invoices from different companies, each with a different name, contact, and address. We did have an attorney involved who was working to untangle all of the different contacts and “companies,” realizing quickly that these were all shell companies used cover their tracks.

    Safe Ship operate as liars, thieves, and scammers. Most of the reviews on this site and others (BBB, etc..) are fake. Safe Ship spends hours having their employees write fake reviews to trick you all into using them, thus enabling them to continue the scam. They lie, they take, and use constant pressure tactics to feed their giant deposit bank. Because at the end of the day that’s all they are - a deposit bank. Once they get your initial deposit they are out. They are not honest about that and they are definitely not upfront about how they operate. “Veteran owned”, “take care of you from start to finish”, it’s all complete bullshit to take your money. Then they blame the carrier - who in many cases the consumer is not aware that there will be another entity or company involved. In the end we were upcharged and then extorted for $1000s more than we expected to pay. It was one of the worst experiences of my life

    It took almost 8 weeks for my items to arrive, many damaged or completely broken. There was mildew and mold on many of the pieces, my items have been left out for a great deal of that time. It took three attempts, two deliveries that had none of my items in them, to receive my goods. Out of those three deliveries, two of them the movers arrived at my home after 10:30 PM. I received no return calls, or my number might’ve been also been blocked because I was getting an error. Message of this number is no longer in service, and I was really quite patient and kind throughout the whole process.

    I just wanted to get my family's pieces back in my possession. I would not recommend this company as they put it off to be my own responsibility to deal with the contractor that they hired to complete the move of my items. They were not willing to help because they said it was in the contract that once I signed that paper. It is all my responsibility and none of theirs. I would not recommend this company or their services.

    That was the most unprofessional moving experience I have ever had. I have never moved from one part of the country to another, so this was a first, and if I can help even one person from experiencing the same pain and horrible things that I did- this is worth it. I have moved within my home state many times. When moving within my state, we used local movers. However when we had to move from the North to South coast of US, we heard that if we went with a broker, they’d be able to help make sure we had a good experience.

    This was by far my worst experience EVER. Once we paid them money for them to help coordinate a move- they became UNREACHABLE. Never answered our calls. And the guy who was the “owner” all of a sudden had a phone number that was out of service and no one was able to contact them for help. Extremely shady business and I would give zero stars if possible. They are crooks and it’s hard to find this company is listed as a legit business.

"Samantha K", in sales, said all the right things... family business, veteran owned, delivery in 1-2 days but contract allows 10 days just in case there's a snag but Always 1-2 days. She was super available and easy to communicate with. They now have my stuff, it's IMPOSSIBLE to get back to Samantha "biggest scam artist ever" K. They've had my stuff for nearly two weeks, it's in a warehouse in an unrelated state and they are "trying to expedite it" so I get it within a month! They won't give me a delivery date or even window and pass me from con man to con man with they story changing all the time.     Do not trust the initial quote this company gives you. Safe Ship operates as a broker and utilizes a highly calculated timing trap to secure your deposit and then inflate your moving costs under extreme duress. They lock you in with a low phone estimate, then deliberately delay their inventory "verification" call until after your contractually allowed cancellation window has already closed. Once your deposit is trapped and you are just days away from your moving deadline, they hit you with massive, unverified volume increases. To make matters worse, they utilize an electronic mobile contract system that actively overrides and hides your original lower quote, forcing you to click through a new agreement just hours before pickup or risk being stranded.

    Once the actual trucking company they hired arrives, standard electronic banking and credit card protections are stripped away, and you are forced into strict cash-on-demand handovers at both pickup and delivery. While your goods are already in transit, they use the carrier to extort surprise last-minute "shuttle fees" at destination, threatening to withhold your life's belongings unless you hand over thousands more in un-itemized cash before they will open the truck doors. This is a textbook hostage-load pricing scheme executed by a predatory broker.

    Zero integrity, a bait-and-switch approach, responsibility-shifting, and a constant "you signed this" attitude. That's what I experienced with Safe Ship. Before posting this review, I contacted Safe Ship directly. I was told they would advocate for me and investigate my concerns. While they are free to investigate, I am equally free to share my experience as a consumer. The problems began during the sales process. I was told Safe Ship was not a broker and that their moving system was superior to competitors. That representation played a major role in my decision to book. I was initially quoted $2,731.20 for 350 cubic feet. During the Quality Assurance call, I provided dimensions for all of my belongings. Based on my calculations, my inventory totaled approximately 230–240 cubic feet, well below the original estimate. Despite this, my volume was increased to 417 cubic feet and my price jumped to $3,017.63.

    When I questioned the increase, I was told their computer calculated it and that "even if you put the dimensions into ChatGPT, they come out to 400+ cubic feet." When I said I would remove items to reduce the cost, I was discouraged from doing so. After explaining that my mother had recently passed away and that I could not afford unexpected moving expenses, the representative suddenly obtained "manager approval" to move my belongings "at cost." That interaction left me questioning whether the increased volume and price were ever justified.

    Pick-up day raised even more concerns. The movers arrived in a worn truck with "Paint Shop" displayed on the side. None wore uniforms. I was told I would be charged approximately $900 if they used my apartment building's loading dock, so they instead parked on the street. I was also asked to sign paperwork acknowledging a potential future charge of at least $650 if an 18-wheeler was used for delivery. I refused.

    The drop-off was the worst part. A single driver arrived alone. When he opened the truck, two of my storage bins immediately fell out and spilled their contents onto the ground. As unloading continued, I discovered that every single one of my Home Depot moving boxes had been crushed. When I asked what happened, the driver repeatedly told me, "You got them from Home Depot. They're no good." Home Depot moving boxes are designed specifically for moving. Blaming the boxes did not explain why every single one arrived crushed. I've completed four interstate moves before this one. Safe Ship assured me this experience would be different. They were right. This was, without question, the worst moving experience I've ever had.

    I can’t say enough good things about this moving company! From start to finish, the entire team was professional, friendly, and incredibly hardworking. They arrived on time, handled all of my belongings with great care, and made what could have been a very stressful day completely seamless. The crew was efficient, respectful, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was moved safely and placed exactly where I wanted it. Nothing was damaged, and they worked quickly without cutting corners. Their communication throughout the process was excellent, and their positive attitudes made the whole experience so much easier. If you’re looking for a reliable moving company that truly cares about its customers, I highly recommend them. I would absolutely use their services again and will be recommending them to family and friends. Thank you for making my move such a great experience!

    After going back and forth for a few days, Safe Ship came in to correct the issues that happened during the move. Thankfully you will have a company that will advocate for you when issues arise.

    2 stars is being generous! Pick up was ok, I found out at delivery they hire from the local area on Craigslist. Ummm, I just spent 16k and you don’t have your own staff to help with either one. 1. Damage to my house when I was moving out. 2. Delivery, now that’s another story… missing hardware from my master bed outfit and now I have to file a claim. 3. When they were leaving they wanted to charge an additional $300 to take the shipping supplies they used.

    Great experience on pick up and drop off. Arturo, Jerome and Juan were perfect. Couldn't ask for anything better. And Safe Ship was great and very accommodating and professional as well. Josh ** was my main point of contact and was extremely professional and helpful and communicative.

    Sharp Van Lines was wonderful! They were neat, clean, efficient and took wonderful care of our belongings. Would highly recommend Sharp Van Lines, Inc. to anyone.
