    Using a POD to move our household goods was great. We were responsible for loading and unloading. It was hard work, but worth every penny. We were given updates on the status of our POD as it made its way from California to Washington. We were contacted by the driver when they anticipated picking our POD up and the contacted again with an anticipated time of delivery. PODS provides a short video on how to pack your POD safely.     I needed POS for storage so I started booking them on the phone and switched to online.

    I used PODS for storage, and I decided to use them because they have better reviews. The setup process was easy. I just scheduled online, and it took a week for scheduling and picking up. They brought it and dropped it off, and then came back when they were supposed to, picked it up, and took it to the storage facility. And then we only stored it for four months, and then they brought it back to the same house. The crew was professional, and the overall cost was reasonable. I will use them again if I need to.

    I’ve seen PODS at a job site in the village. The booking process sucked. The guy I was talking to didn’t speak very good English and was hard to understand. I had to go over each question four times. After we got things set up, they called me back and would not distribute it to me out of Milwaukee. Milwaukee canceled it on me because they said I was too far away.

    But the owner of the Appleton store called me up and said he would take the business, so I had the Appleton office pick me up. Their service was very good. The pod arrived on time. The driver put it in the front of the house where I had some cones out to block the area off.

    I would use PODS again. It’s very good for drop-off and delivery.

    They DROPPED my Pod from a forklift in the storage center in Chattanooga. The insurance I purchased through them depreciated my crushed contents by 50%! Not only do I want the replacement cost of my contents, but I want my money back too. Nobody at PODS will return my call - not the Facility manager, not the Customer Advocacy Office, not whomever reads the emails sent to customercare@pods.com. Nobody!

    PODs sells service to anybody regardless of whether or not they are a good candidate and make them deal with the consequences and extra fees afterwards. NEVER use PODs as they don't care about the customer and just rope you into unexpected fees and hassles. Specifically, they will tell you verbally that your delivery locations look good, then they make you listen to an automated disclosure that absolves them of all responsibility when your delivery location is not adequate. They will then hit you with tons of extra fees for the "special delivery" seeing your delivery locations are in fact not wide enough, etc. etc. As one fellow customer put it: "Don't use PODS unless you live on a paved football field".

    We rented two PODS to enable us to empty our garage, reorganize storage and work spaces, then refill the garage (minus all the stuff going to charity or trash). The two delivery and two pickup drivers were met on arrival and advised that they had to stay on the 12 ft wide concrete driveway due to mud on both sides. Both delivery drivers managed to do so with no issues. Neither pickup driver stayed on the concrete. Each left a significant divot; one on the left side, one on the right side. When one driver was stopped while still maneuvering off the concrete, he immediately became defensive and continued onto the grass. The divots are not large but will take some work to remediate. The delivery drivers showed that it can be done. Neither pickup driver wanted to hear it. Other than that, the whole experience was good.

    We had a complicated job and a couple of changes (small POD for large, and different dates and locations). The telephone staff were efficient and thorough. Then for all the moves, we were lucky enough to have Clark running the placements and retrieval. He was a pro with the tight placement necessary for 2 x 16 foot PODS to be side by side in our driveway. It was a pleasure to watch him handle the machines. He was thorough, kind and had a few tips for both getting the sliding doors shut and for opening them once they were redelivered - since we packed them tightly making the opening a bit of a challenge. Also, I requested him for all subsequent moves and he kindly came.

    PODS made this last move for us so much easier. Instead of getting a uhaul and having to get it all done in a day or two we were able to take our time and not hurt ourselves (you have a month with PODS). They bring it to you, pick it up and deliver it to your next location. You don’t have to worry about driving some big truck through crazy traffic. And when you’re done they come get it. So you don’t have to worry about taking back after your exhaust from unloading. Not that I plan on ever moving again but if we do I will be calling PODS.

I spoke with someone over the phone laying out my needs ahead of time and so when I was ready to order and move forward I had all the information I needed. The prices matched what I was told so there were no hidden fees after the fact! My only issue was with the refund policy, I do not remember nor is it in my notes, that after 3 days, you will no longer get any refund for the month. I was at 5 days-one of which was a Sunday-so I felt I little taken there.

    Overall, I had a great experience with PODS for my move from Texas to Missouri. Reservations were quick and easy. Everything was thoroughly explained and the price was affordable. Delivery of the first POD was on time. Only issue was the lock I paid for was not delivered with the POD. It was easily refunded. Pickup of the first container and delivery of the second container also occurred on time. I was a little panicky about the 8 ft size of the container. I called and they made it easy to change to a bigger container. I changed my mind again and received great customer service. Shipment and arrival of first container was on schedule. Arrival of second container was on schedule and coincided with the arrival of the folks who helped me to unload. The door was stuck on the first container as the load shifted.

    I recommend putting a video on the website to visually show ways to protect from load shifts as well as demonstrating how the door works along with ways to free the door. After several tries, I finally got the door open. We unloaded both containers on the same day as the arrival of the second container and I notified PODS that the containers could be picked up. This is what caused a 4 instead of a 5 rating. I called mid day on the 8th to arrange pickup. They scheduled pickup of one container on the 15th and the second on the 19th. I wanted them picked up asap and both on the same day. I felt the pickup schedule was too far out. I called customer service and was told they would try to pick them both up on the 15th. No luck in getting it mmm over up.

    I received confirmation that one would be picked up on the 15th but not on the second container until the night of the 14th. Little breakdown in communication. Both were picked up on the 15th. Customer service was polite, professional and made me feel like they truly cared about my needs on every phone call. I would recommend PODS to anyone who wants a fair priced move.

    Driver did in excess of $25k damage to my wrought iron gates with the POD trailer and never told me. He came back with a second load and never told me. I reported it to PODs HQ and no response to date. I sent a detail write up and 13 pictures of the damaged gates. They were made of 2” thick wrought iron and they were broke completely in two places and smashed in. To do that much damage.

    We got a bid from another company and also talked to PODS. Both gave us a lot of information, and they seemed similar. It might have been the price why we went with PODS. I'm familiar with them from seeing their containers and when we did the final booking, we spoke to a rep. It seemed very positive and the rep seemed friendly and knowledgeable. The drivers we had in Austin, Texas were great but the final guy who came to pick up the pod was not too friendly. Maybe he was having a bad day, but otherwise, people were good.

    We had the impression that the PODS facility was climate controlled, and I thought we asked about that on the phone and were told yes. We were shocked to find out it wasn’t actually climate controlled, so that could be clarified better for people. Another issue was that sometimes the people we spoke to didn’t have as much information as the local team. We had two pods. One is in our driveway and one is in our neighbor’s. The national PODS team said that was fine, but the local team told us we needed a waiver signed by the neighbors.

    While we never expect things to go wrong when we move, sometimes they do. The pod equipment broke in my driveway, damaging property. The local office promised a fix “tomorrow” and tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet 2 months later. The customer service office promised to remedy the situation and then was never heard from again.     My brother's friends had used PODS to move from Minnesota to Tampa or Tampa area. I like the idea of being able to pack everything up ourselves and -- because the way the move was happening, we didn't have a place in North Carolina. We’re gonna be renting.

    They've always been very good when I’ve to call to make changes. But PODS does not pro-rate the rental period, which meant we were charged for another month's rent even though the POD was picked up at the start of the billing cycle. They should also show greater flexibility and pro-rate based on actual usage, especially if it extends by only a day or so into the next billing cycle.

    PODS was fantastic from the first phone call there until they picked up the last container. We had no problems with them whatsoever. I tried to book with them online, but we had weird circumstances, so I ended up talking to someone on the phone and they helped me out. We did the storage container and the moving. They pulled the storage unit and brought the things, then kept them until we brought them to Tennessee. They were all very nice and there was one gentleman that got very frustrated when he couldn't get out of our area, so much so that the manager of the storage unit came over to mention it to me. But otherwise, everyone was the most friendly, fun, and professional.

    It was weird though that we had a double booking. When we were on the phone, at some point, coordinating something, they made two different accounts for us. So they tried to deliver twice as many pods about a month later. But it was just a little mix- up on making two accounts. It didn't really affect us at all because the first account took care of all our needs. But we were getting calls that they were going to deliver some pods to us and we were already done with the move and in Tennessee. Despite that, they were still polite.

    I like that with Pods, we could get it delivered to where our house was getting set up. So, we can move our stuff directly into it. Also, once our house is built, we can move it straight into the house. We got a 16-footer container and was very useful.

    However, I hope they can offer stuff to suck up the humidity inside of it. With ours, we had it for two months while we were waiting for our house to get built. So, having those, especially in the summer where it's really humid and cooler in the mornings, it will be helpful with all the dew. It also was a lot cheaper than getting another storage unit.

    Order #**. I provided my delivery address on Aug 18; PODS didn’t deliver until Sept 3 (16 days later). I was told the September charges would be removed because the delay was on their side, yet I was still billed $403.95 (9/5) and $134.25 “redelivery” (9/3) on top of mileage I’d already paid. I’d also previously been overcharged $882.18, refunded only after multiple follow-ups.

    Customer service has been the worst part. I’ve spent hours upon hours across multiple chats and case numbers repeating the same facts. Some reps acknowledged adjustments; others insisted the fees were “valid.” Requests to escalate to a manager were refused in chat, and I was told to call instead. Their chat also doesn’t offer a “Save Transcript” option and often only shows “Today” as the timestamp, so I had to manually copy/paste conversations just to keep records—making it hard to look back and track what was promised. For the price of this service, it should be simple, transparent, and customer-focused. It wasn’t.

    **I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING PODS** unless you have endless amounts of time to spend talking to their customer service. I will never use this company again. Given the unresolved charges and refusal to escalate in chat, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau with supporting invoices and transcripts. Desired resolution: Refund $538.20 ($403.95 + $134.25) and fix the billing/escalation process so customers aren’t charged for delays or forced to spend hours chasing basic answers.

    My experience with POD was awful and I would never recommend someone to do business with them going forward. I relocated from Florida to Colorado and utilized POD services for a 16ft container. I booked my POD contract on 7/28/25 with the intent of the POD being dropped off 8/19/25. I did my part, paid my fees on time, POD was dropped off as agreed on 8/19 and picked up on 8/22/25 with no issues. When I signed my contract on 7/28, they said it would take them 10 days to get the POD to Colorado so to give extra time for unforeseen circumstances I scheduled drop off in Colorado for 9/6/25 giving them 16 days to get my POD to my home.

    As we moved to somewhere 2,000 miles away and completely away from everything we have ever known we planned around our POD delivery. I took a 3-week vacation from work and rented my AirBNBs all based around the POD delivery. On the evening of 9/5/25, I logged in and saw my POD was being delivered 9/6/25 between 7:15AM-10:15AM. I called into POD on 9/5/25 to confirm the scheduled delivery so we could check out of our AirBNB. We woke up the morning of 9/6 at 5AM, checked out of our AirBNB and headed over to our new home here in Colorado.

    At 7:10AM I got a new email that said the delivery had been rescheduled for 9/10/25!!! We had paid movers waiting at the house for the POD, we had NOTHING at our house for our kids to sleep on, eat on, sit on, NOTHING! I have special need children, one who requires oxygen support. All his additional medical equipment was in the POD and with no notification that the POD was delayed I was short the medical equipment he needed. I called POD and they advised me that the reason the POD was delayed because the truck carrying the POD broke down in Missouri. SO WHY DID THE POD TEAM GIVE ME A DELIVERY WINDOW WHEN THE POD WASN’T EVEN IN THE STATE THAT IT WAS BEING DELIVERED TO? With no notice

    I've used PODS multiple times in the past. I started using PODS when they pretty much were the primary storage container company out there. I was using it to move. Every time I move to a home, I renovate it and then end up moving into another house and starting all over again.

    My purpose was to get ready for the sale of the home I had to have everything in pods versus a moving truck because I didn't know when I was going to find another home. That's where the pods or any kind of container storage was important for me.

    My experience with booking this time was not as good as the previous times only because every time I was trying to book, on certain days, there was no availability. There was a lot less availability this time. You also had to schedule the pickup at the same time to make sure you could guarantee the pickup date. That was challenging in my situation. It's been six years since I did it last time.

    The quality of the pods was as good as it's always been. It was in good condition. Clean. Normal wear and tear. The delivery was good. I didn't have a problem with it. The staff did a really good job explaining things. I've used PODS before, so it was no surprise about how they actually deliver. They have to have a certain amount of space. I needed to be able to get in and out of the garage and they needed to put the pod into the driveway, so they worked very well with us to accommodate what they could do.

    The staff at PODS walked me through the process and told me what would be happening. The representative who helped me was knowledgeable and skilled at what he does. I let him know that I was in the military. And so, I got a military discount, which I truly appreciated. The price was much more affordable after the discount.

    The only issue is that they had told me that I would get an email the night before telling me when the pick-up would be, or the drop-off, and then when they would be picking it up. I never got an email, but I was able to go online and get the information. They gave me a time frame of when they would be there to drop off the pod, and told me when they would be picking it up. I had so many days that I could take to load it up.

    My family drove down to help me load the pod because I’m 79 years old. The medium-sized pod they gave me worked well. My furniture fit, and my family said that I used up every bit of space. Everything went well. They arrived on the day they said they would, took the money as agreed, delivered the pod when scheduled, and picked it up when they were supposed to. The day after it arrived, I came with my family and friends, and they unloaded the pod for me. It was an easy transition. My kids and I have been satisfied.

    Moving with PODS at $1,500 is the right thing to do because it’s more economical than moving with a moving company which charges $3,700. There’s quite a bit of savings. I was afraid, because at age 79, I can get taken advantage of in so many different ways. It's wonderful to have a company like PODS where you can save money when you have to move.

    Delivery and pickup from Bonita Springs, Fl to Tucson, Arizona were precise, very timely. Delivery and pickup at both ends well coordinated and drivers friendly and professional. The only challenge was pickup of the POD once emptied at the Tucson apartment location. The POD was emptied on the first day but storage required we leave the POD on a city street for 3 days. Worry that kids might get hurt around it or harm from getting in and that I would be charged for extra days on an empty POD. All did workout as the unit was safely removed with no harm.

He left before police came. 2 wks without bed. Bad news for a disabled customer. Unit lost once. Charged twice in in 1 day. $800 then $780. $800 refunded. There was some refunds but not worth the anxiety. They say 24/7 service but usually wait 2 weeks for action. Their rule of "driver has discretion of where to put unit" is too vague and be used to discriminate. The only bright part of their service was the employee Antywone ** who went way above and beyond his duty to make things right. He found my unit and delivered the same day going past operating hours. I give PODS 2 stars but Antywone ** 10 stars.

    I was moving by myself and didn’t pay anybody to help me pack. It was gonna be a one-person job, more or less. When I calculated the costs, it came out to basically breaking even. So, for the sake of convenience, I decided to go with PODS.

    It would have been cheaper to use a moving truck, but then there’s the cost of driving back and paying for gas. It would have come out the same. So, going with PODS made more sense.

    PODS originally quoted me 2,800 for an 8x8 pod from South Florida to Tennessee. Then they ended up lowering the price. They called me out of the blue within about a week and offered a better deal. It came out to around 2,300, so I agreed.

    It was easier to set it up over the phone, because at the time I didn’t know exactly where I was moving to in East Tennessee. I didn’t have the precise address yet, since I hadn’t signed a lease. But PODS worked with me on that. That meant having to call, which was easy enough. The website wouldn’t give me a quote without a precise address.

    PODS is great, but it really depends on the person. I’d suggest going a little bigger than you think you need. I packed mine completely to the brim. I’d also recommend paying a professional to help you pack, because things do break. If you do it all yourself, you end up learning the hard way how much weight a bookshelf can handle.

    Overall, unless you’re hiring movers, you’re doing most of the work yourself. The big advantage with PODS is the convenience. You don’t have to drive a moving truck or tow your vehicle behind one.

Unfortunately, I had a friend who had a truck pick up my stuff in Florida, bring it up to Maryland, buy the pod, get the pod put here in Maryland, and we took it from his truck to the pod. If I would have been smart about it, I would have had PODS take it from Florida to Maryland. It would have cost me less money.

    I got different quotes for my move. That was likely due to the changes I had to make. Most of my phone experience was very frustrating with long wait time while the staff checked on things. Most of the people I spoke with had very thick accents that were difficult to understand. My last call was to try to recoup an extra charge that I was not told about. Because of street sweeping on the day of delivery, I had requested an afternoon delivery. I was not told that I would be charged an extra $288! That last call had already lasted quite a while when I was put on hold while she checked something. After an additional 20 minutes of holding, I hung up. I have to say that all of the drivers were fabulous, and the staff at the Sacramento PODS storage were great. Phone customer service jobs should not be given to people that can’t be understood.

    We switched from a Upack reservation to PODS less than 2 weeks before our move date because we decided on a bigger container and Upack didn't have any. The reservation with PODS was easy, if thorough. They had the size container we wanted AND offered a Saturday pick up day (the day after the 4th of July) which was very desirable to us. We moved out of an apartment and had to fit the container into two adjacent parking spaces. The driver on the day found them without assistance and gave us pointers on packing.     The one thing I would change is the notification of when the PODS would be delivered/picked up. It would be great to know a little more ahead of time. It was hard to plan movers, etc on such short notice. Even a couple more days ahead of schedule would be helpful.

    At first we were pleased with the discounted price and the ease of delivery. The problem came when we had to extend the pick up date. There was no discount on the Pod so it was a lot more expensive. After we paid for that, we got another charge for the Pod pickup. We didn't realize that was an additional charge. We were glad they were there when we needed them but I doubt if we will use them again.

    I could not have been more pleased with my experience with PODS. Starting with their customer service team (who was extremely helpful and nice) as they explained every step, including what charges would hit my credit card and when they would hit. There were no surprises, and everything ran like a well-oiled machine. I received notifications the day before the drivers arrived, to give me a window of time that the drivers would arrive, and the drivers called when they were on their way to let me know the time they would arrive.

    Once the driver arrived, the process went very quickly with the unloading of the POD. If you have not seen one unloaded before, take a few minutes to watch it.... amazing. The driver showed me how to get in and out of the POD and he was on his way. The pick-up of the POD went just as smooth. After the pickup, I was informed where my POD was, and it actually arrived at the destination earlier than expected, so I could have it delivered to me earlier. They were flexible with the pick-up of the empty POD and like always, let me know in advance when they were going to be there and they were on time. I would definitely recommend this company to my friends and family.

    “Everything Was Fine... Until Delivery Day Became a Disaster” I honestly thought I had made a smart choice by going with PODS. The booking process was smooth, the pickup went well, and I was actually impressed—until delivery day came around and the entire experience went straight to hell. First, the delivery arrived early but they refused to accomodate my request to have it delivered earlier. I am several requests with no call back. I had to call multiple times just to get vague answers and empty promises. Every time I spoke to someone, I got a different story: “The request was submitted and someone should contact you."

    When the POD finally did arrive, I cleared it out in one day and notified them so they can use it again for another customer. I was permitted to have the container for 3 days, but I clearly communicated in advance, complete with photos and measurements that the container was ready. I asked for my second container, but instead of working with me, the company acted like they couldn't be bothered. I ended up having to rearrange my entire unloading plan because of their poor coordination. When the second container arrived they wouldn't release me it without me signing a form releasing them of all liability.

    Keep in mind I didn't sign any forms for the first container. At that point, I just wanted the ordeal to be over. I considered calling the cops but rather opted to get my belongings. PODS might work for some people, but if your delivery day matters even a little—don’t take the risk. They were great up until the one moment that actually counted... And then completely dropped the ball. The containers were taken from NJ to NV.

    Deceptive Trade Practices. My emailed quotes (done on the same day) were much less than the final receipt and quote. Watch out as they try to say the discount was only good for the first month but that is not stated anywhere online or in my email. Online and emailed quotes say "Monthly recurring" charge and the Representative (3) try to ignore this completely to justify a large increase in their Monthly recurring charge. Bait and switch!

    I would avoid using PODS at all times. They customer service is unhelpful, their delivery times are a guess, their C suite is unresponsive to outreach and they do nothing to build trust with a customer. Hours of fighting to understand when a POD is being collected, where it is, when it will arrive, when it will be collected... but no shortage of threatening calls to pay them money. There are other options - use those.

    This has been the worse experience I’ve ever had with PODS for a move and I own a moving company and never had to deal with a situation like this. I have spoken to over 10 different reps and 3 “supervisors“ and no one put my request in for an earlier drop off and no one ever did it. I have been placed on hold for 30 minutes several times and nobody comes back to help me. The lack of transparency in regards to my personal items is very frustrating and unacceptable. This company quick to take payment but very slow with helping.

    The first guy I spoke to from PODS wasn’t as helpful as I would have thought. He just read me their rates. I called back because I was looking online and got a different price. The second gentleman I talked to was awesome because he found discounts and really shaved some significant money off the original quote.

    To put it in perspective, I reached out to a number of moving companies and for what I was moving, the prices were outrageous. So, the second time was the charm. Pickup and delivery went fine. It was exactly what I expected. The workers were very professional and on time. No complaints whatsoever.

    I got a 16-foot pod. It was probably too big. I could have went smaller, but I didn’t want to stack high in one pod. I was moving from the northeast of Florida, so I didn’t want multiple stacks and the chance of that shifting and doing damage.

    It was better to pay a couple hundred extra and get the larger one. It worked out fine. The contents did not shift at all. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it to find everything still intact exactly as I placed them.

    Once I did everything and signed in online, I could track everything and be notified. They kept everything up-to-date and on time. I also enjoyed having text messages to and from when the deliveries were gonna be made. I was still fully informed without even me going into my sign-in and logging into the website.

    Going with PODS is a good deal. They give you the flexibility to load as much as you need to. They were very efficient. Everyone was great. Overall, I was extremely happy with the service and the quality.

    We chose PODS last minute to move from New York to North Carolina because the other service provider bailed on us because it was the holiday weekend. PODS also gave us a better deal. I had an excellent experience with everybody. Every time I had to contact them, there was somebody on the phone pretty quickly. They were easy to understand. Obviously locals, not outsourced, at least I assume. All the interactions we had were great. I had no problems.

    We took a 16-foot pod which served as an overflow for some of our heavier stuff that we couldn't get up on the truck because it's too high up. The condition of our pods was about what I expected. It wasn't brand new, but it was clean inside and a little weather-worn on the outside. There was like a patch, but I wasn't concerned that anything was going to leak. Both deliveries were great. The people delivering the truck in New York and in North Carolina were very helpful and very accommodating. It was all great. We had no problems at all. I have told a friend who is moving from Washington to Idaho. I said to definitely go with PODS.

    Booking a pod at PODS is easy. I did a quote, and they sent you their quote by email. Then you pay to make it official. Once I paid, they started sending communications, and it was very clear what the next steps were.
    You then pick a date for the pod to be delivered. While you don’t get to choose a specific time, they do deliver it on that day. They also ask you to confirm the delivery the day before to make sure you still want it delivered.
    The pod was clean and sturdy. I never questioned it when I saw it. I also liked the size, because I had looked at another company that wanted to deliver three smaller pods instead of one large pod. That automatically steered me back to PODS, because I didn’t want three small ones. It’s already hard enough to fit one pod in the driveway.
    The only drawback is where they can place the pod. Because it’s so large and delivered using a hydraulic truck, they need a lot of room to drop it off and pick it up. In the DC area, parking can be tight, but that has nothing to do with them. That’s on me and where I chose to move..

    Unlike using U-Haul, where you move everything into a storage facility and then move it out again a month or two later, PODS avoids moving too many times. They drop the pod in the driveway, you load it, and they come pick it up. It was a perfect service for my situation, and it worked exceptionally well.

    The very first call I made with PODS was a little convoluted. But when I decided to place the order, it was very smooth from that point on. Everything was great. All the drivers, except for one of them, called to let me know when they were on their way. It was just that very first one who didn't call. But he called the other number that was on my account. That was fine because then I adjusted it in my portal.

    The only criticism I had was that we had a pod scheduled and then I changed the date. It asked me on my portal, "Which way does your garage face?" I chose the layout of everything. When the driver came, he had the pod facing a different direction. I said, "Well, I filled that out." The driver said they didn’t see any of that. I thought, "What's the point of doing that if the drivers don't know?" In the end, we were able to make it work.

    PODS was a wonderful company to work with. I had a lot of questions, like if I could move this or change this. Everybody was unbelievable. I have never worked with a company where every single person was so friendly, nice, and competent. PODS is a fantastic company from top to bottom. I only wish I could have tipped my drivers. The whole service was expensive so I hope they were paid well.

    My daughter used PODS in the past for a move, and she told me she had a really good experience. We did a long-distance move, from Florida to D.C., and it worked out well.     I was moving so I decided to use PODS based on their reputation. I first contacted them online, and then I called and ordered a 16-foot container. One of the problems in moving is the container was advertised as enough for one to two bedrooms, and it didn't take that much. People should review the amount of stuff they’re moving and to see if one pod is going to be enough.

    I moved from Santa Cruz, California from one coast to Conway, South Carolina. It's just inland from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I needed help with a cross-country move and I had fun booking the pod. The guy that I was on the phone with was an absolute doll. We had a good time and and talked about other stuff. It was a very pleasant experience.

    The gentleman came one morning and unloaded it with the podzilla. The pod was 16x9x9 and it was really fun to watch and see how this goes. Whoever invented this, I hope they're rich and enjoying life because it's an amazing invention. The pod was great, very clean and and ready to go as soon as he dropped it off. I had ordered some moving blankets and those were already in the pod ready for me to use them. I also ordered one of their locks to put on it, and they had that available for me.

    It was delivered on Saturday, June 28th. They picked it up on Tuesday, July 1st. The only glitch in the whole thing was, it was supposed to arrive here in South Carolina on the 17th. But there was a delay in the travel coming across the country, so it was pushed off until the 22nd. I had to arrange with the people on this end that were helping me unload it. But it wasn't a big deal.

    I used PODS before, so I went with them again. Setting up with the rep was all done by phone and fairly easy. I moved from Florida to Delaware, and both the pick-up and delivery went flawlessly. They were there right on schedule and there was no problem at all. It took them about 15 minutes to set each pod in the driveway, showed me how to use the locks and open the doors, and they were gone. It was expensive, but knowing that moving is expensive in general, I’m not sure how they would compare if I hired an actual moving company. I would probably use them again if I had to move.

    I have never written a review like this before but am shocked at the service I just received from Pods. I scheduled the Pod - it was confirmed, I signed the documents, entered my cc info, etc. Fully confirmed. I then scheduled long haul movers (and paid half of a large number) to move my stuff from where I am now, into the pod (based on when the pod would be delivered).

    Then, Pods called me to tell me that actually they don't deliver to my area on Fridays so they can deliver the pod the following Wednesday (of course, my move is scheduled for Saturday). I asked if they could deliver it this Wednesday or Thursday so that the pod is available for my move and they said no. I asked to speak with a manager and they said no.

    The call was being recorded and the woman I spoke with wasn't even apologetic - she acted like I should have zero issue with this and its not a big deal. She probably wasn't feeling comfortable acting like the company did anything wrong. She said that the people who do the driving decide this and they called her to tell her and there's nothing she can do - and those people don't take calls. Pods is a huge company (and I've used them twice before) so I assume that if I successfully schedule a pod, that it will arrive on that day. And if not, they will make efforts to accommodate me in some other way. I was told I was SOL. Extremely unprofessional.

    The people who moved us thought that the best way to go was PODS, so they recommended them to us. That turned out correct. We needed storage for some of our stuff, and I gave them the time we wanted it. They stored the pods at their facility until it was time to move. I had no issues with customer service. I arranged everything over the phone, and they were pretty helpful.

    The pick-up and delivery went seamless. We were there to make sure that the pods, an 8-footer and a 16-footer, were where we wanted them. It was a little dicey because they were separated by a week. We were putting them in a parking lot shared with other people, so I was nervous. I kept checking and waiting for an availability. When a date became available, I grabbed it. But that was only a problem when we were leaving. It was easier scheduling for the other end when I was in the moving area. It was a little pricey because of the distance, but we were paying for convenience. Everything else was pretty good.

    I needed some sort of container as my family and I moved about four miles away from where we were living. I had priced everything out with either a full-service moving company or similar companies like PACK-RAT. And it really just came down to the price when it came to PODS.

    It was really simple using their website--you pick what you need, you pick the dates, and you go from there. It felt very much like trying to book an airline ticket. I got an email with a delivery window when I booked the date. It was a three-hour window.

    That morning, the driver who had my pod on his truck called me to tell me what time he'd be there. We coordinated things, tried to figure out if there was a gate code that I gave him. And then he showed up almost exactly when he said he'd be there. Then he backed it up in my driveway, took a picture, and was out of there in about 15 minutes.

    The driver mentioned that it was a refurbished pod, which was a little bit obvious. You have to push on the door a little bit just to get it to roll up and to come down. But it's something you would expect from normal wear and tear. The cleanliness, overall, was great. It worked exactly as I expected.

    Working with PODS was probably the easiest moving process. If you want to do the labor yourself, it's akin to renting a U-Haul without any of the stress of having to drive it anywhere.

    I was moving out of state, and because PODS was national, I felt that it was reputable to be able to move my stuff across a long distance. They were good and very easy to use. It was a 700-mile move and there was a lot of shifting which they mentioned. Everybody was really friendly during the pick up and delivery, and I was kind of worried about how angles and things would work, but they did it very easily. I used the medium PODs for storage too.

    They brought the PODS to my house and we loaded it, and then they brought it to the other house and it stayed there until we were ready. I got the biggest one they had as far as for a home move, but I could have gone a little bit larger. I actually moved everything in the house. The price seemed to be fairly reasonable. I had a little bit of trouble booking online, so I had to finish up on the phone. As far as the pickup and delivery, both cases were excellent.

It could have been a little cheaper, though, because I didn't have to go far with it. When it came time for the pick-up, the guy was excellent.     I saw a neighbor had PODS and it seemed the easiest way to move. And it was indeed the easiest way. I did it all online. I was on the phone with an attorney when they came to deliver to my new house and my car was in my garage. My mistake, I had them park in my driveway. But the driver was able to fit in there and it was tiny, so that was great.

    The PODS experience has been nothing short of frustrating and deeply disappointing. The website is bulky, unintuitive, and barely functional. After waiting over an hour to speak to a customer service representative, I was logged out within a minute of finally getting connected—without resolution. Payments were withdrawn well before the scheduled dates, sometimes weeks in advance, without notice or consent.

    I was explicitly told I would not be charged an additional month of rent due to an error on their end. That promise was broken, and I was charged anyway. The storage facility my container was sent to turned out to be outside the service area of my destination—information I was not given beforehand. As a result, I was hit with an unexpected $400 in extra charges. To make matters worse, the facility didn’t even allow in-person access, so I had no choice but to pay for home delivery, despite wanting to avoid it. This company is uncommunicative, underhanded, and consistently fails to honor its own commitments. Customers deserve transparency, not traps.

    Terrible- Email confirmation delivery said 11-2, clear instructions of driveway to use and they put in nearby parking lot spot, not driveway- As I was planning to be there before 11 to help ensure spot is correct but they delivered TWO HOURS EARLY, I had no time to get there before they left. Cost me time and money for movers to trek across parking lot. Called/chat utilize to resolve issue…. Just nope, not an option to move where I asked and not an option to compensate for movers' added cost. Terrible.

    I used PODS to pack up our garage, store it for about three weeks, and move it to the new house we bought. I’ve used them before around 22 years ago when we were moving from Alexandria, Virginia to Phoenix, Arizona. We also used them to declutter our house to put it on the market and it worked out really well for us that’s why we used PODS again.

    The cost was very reasonable, particularly when you start adding up pickups and deliveries. We got texts ahead of time from the drivers saying they were on their way and they told us exactly what they were gonna do. The equipment was just fantastic. We had had some marks out on the concrete on our driveway and they put it right there. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Same thing when they picked up and delivered the pod, they put it exactly where we needed for it to be so that we could unload it more easily. Things worked out really well and I would definitely use PODS again.

    Had an awful experience. They were late for the pick-up. I waited 6 hours and had to pay movers extra. Then at drop off the day of they cancelled "driver's opinion"! They did not tell me they cancelled, it was just when I called them to ask where the pod was. This was a cross country move so all my stuff was in that pod that I confirmed for weeks then days before to drop off. I had to end up renting a uhaul the following day to get my stuff out of storage. They said they would investigate, weeks went by only to tell me they could not drop off the container in the space provided. Sure enough I find a 16 ft pod in the very place they said my 8ft pod could not be dropped off.

    They spent weeks "investigating" only to send me bot replies. Then an investigator saying there is nothing else to do even with photo evidence of a pod in the spot they cancelled on me the day of WITH NO CALL OR TEXT TELLING ME! They offered to pay for my uhaul (not cost of the movers that did not move anything or the cost of my time waiting for a pod that never showed up). Plus paid for extra insurance to find out my oled TV (that was in its box) was broken. Took a month to get the reply "no coverage due to natural shipping". Terrible experience. Would not do again!

    I needed flexible moving storage and discovered PODS online. I was impressed with the convenience they seemed to offer, and our interaction with their customer service team when booking over the phone was smooth and efficient.     Zero stars if I could. I packed my pod and it was set to leave the original location on July 1st and be delivered to the new location on July 14th. On July 13th, I received a delivery window, on the 14th the driver called me to say he would load up and come to me next. Hours go by, nothing. I call the driver- turns out the warehouse didn't have my POD and the manager informed the driver NOT to call me and tell me. The manager didn't call me either. Oh, and my POD was still in the state of the original location and had never been transported. No one was going to tell me! I spent over 4 hours on the phone the first day and another 2-3 hours with customer service for the next 4 days after. Utter chaos. Stay away. Terrible. Your sanity deserves better.

    My troubles started when I made my first phone call to get an estimate from PODS, I wanted to compare them against pack rats. I decided to go with pods and so the gentleman helping me asked me how much stuff I had. I told him I had a three bedroom home with a lot of stuff in it and two large sheds stuff to the ceiling with boxes. He told me that one pod should be fine. I’m not even sure what size he had in mind but the biggest one I’ve ever seen surely could not fit all my stuff. He told me, "Oh no, you would be so surprised to see how much they fit in one pod."

    I was still very uncomfortable and told him I think I need a second pod so he said we could have one on back up if we needed it. So a few days before my move, I called them and told them to deliver both pods at the same time. What they delivered to me was two 6 x 6 pods. They were small. I have no idea if this is what he had in mind but when the Packers showed up, they told me, "There is no way you’re gonna fit all your stuff in those two pods."

    My sofa alone would not even fit into one. I ended up leaving my furniture behind. This is even after I ordered a third pod, which cost me a lot of extra money and again I asked for a larger pod. They delivered a 6 x 6. And this was still not enough to hold all my belongings. I was so upset that I could not even speak to the representative on the phone. My sister took over for me what they figured out was They didn’t have a driver to bring me a pod, but we could rent a U-Haul, put the things in the U-Haul. Take it to the storage area where the pod is and load the pod ourselves. And that is what we did still leaving behind all my furniture except for my bed, all my lawn equipment and more.

    This was the worst experience I have ever had. I have no idea if they ever gave me any money off, but it was a total rip off. I trusted somebody who knew what they were doing to tell me what I needed for my move and they misled me and caused this to happen. I will say the drivers were very good at delivering the pods. And my sister who works in customer service said that theirs was good. It was what happened in between that ruined my move for me.

    DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! If I could leave no stars I would. My 70 year old mother in law ordered a POD. The contract stated a certain date to be picked up and delivered to new house. This company changed the date and gave her less than 24 hour notice. We traveled from MS to PA to help her move and they now will not be delivering the POD until after we have left. They breached the original contract and refuse to compensate her in any way. They also have it scheduled to be picked up the SAME DAY. So she will only have a few hours to empty this POD on her own at 70 years old. This company is terrible! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

    I've used PODS in the past and was very satisfied. This time though, has left a bad taste inn my mouth - why - my PODS was scheduled to be delivered on the 23 of June.... I made multiple calls to your phone number and at first the driver said she was getting my container for delivery that morning.... All of a sudden it's 2 in the afternoon and after multiple calls to PODS not only could anyone tell me where my unit was, none of those I spoke with seemed very concerned.

    I was given multiple excuses, accidents on the road, can't find my unit (yet the previous day I was told my unit had arrived in VA (from FLA) and was ready for delivery. Yes, the unit was delivered on the 24th - had a very frank discussion with the driver (I won't provide that negative conversation). Would I use your service in the future - that's a hard call.... JC

    PODS has delayed my container drop-off by 9 days, leaving me without access to my belongings during a critical time. I've contacted customer service at least six times, but no one has been responsive or helpful. To make matters worse, their customer portal isn't working either, making it impossible to get updates or manage the situation. This delay has caused significant stress and unexpected costs—who will cover the hotel stay and the non-refundable moving labor I already scheduled? Be aware: their service is “subject to availability,” which seems to be a blanket excuse for delaying deliveries indefinitely. I trusted PODS for a smooth move, but unfortunately, the experience has been anything but. I would strongly caution others to consider alternatives.

    Moved from Texas to Oregon. Obviously best price you can get for a move...I don't know if anyone could really beat it unless you use UHAUL. Whenever you call or message, you WILL be talking to a call center person who won't know anything about what you are calling for. Trying to call for an issue means hold times are VERY LONG, both on the chat and on the phone. I was told the move from state to state would take 5-7 business days originally.... then was told later, when pod was en route, it would be 12-14 days.

    The POD was not picked up for the move the day it was supposed to, and I heard nothing from them. Spent over an hour on the phone to make sure it would get picked up the next day. This did result in a delay of the pod arriving to the new state. The pod was finally picked up today and I see that I was also charged for 5 moving blankets, $20 each, on my first invoice. I never asked for blankets...I was never told I was getting blankets...and also, they weren't with the pod. This was a $216 charge for NOTHING. I have spent over 30 minutes on the customer service chat to not even be transferred to an agent. Seems extremely skeevy to add product that I did not ask for. And then not even deliver. And now I have to go through all the hoops to even speak with someone, when I'm ready to just move on with my life.

    I will never use this company again. They moved my pod across the country for x amount of money and six months later I want my pod (that was in storage) to be moved back (long story) and they want 3x!!!! for no real reason. Their ** customer representative was incompetent. After getting a quote for the move of the pod I called to tell them to move it and what should have a been a 2 min. call turned into a 90 minute call of waiting while they were plugging things into their system, what is there to plug-in? Long story short, once you put your belongings in their storage they hold it hostage for 3x costs. I will never use this company again.

    Do not use PODS if you want a low stress moving experience. It does not matter the number of times you call customer service or have issue tickets submitted, they will charge you the full amount and put you through a customer service loop until you give up on trying to resolve your issues. Want your weight tickets on time? Too bad. We forgot to weigh it! (It took A WEEK of phone calls for someone to finally tell me the truth.) Want a notification when they are coming to deliver or pick-up? Sorry. Ordered a lock? We forgot it but will still charge you.

    Want a discount or reimbursement based on an issue? Better luck next call to customer service. Looks like we don't have availability to pick-up your container on time, don't worry, you won't get charged an extra month of rent. Got charged an extra month anyway. Their Service Solutions Specialist emailed me to apologize and add a discount to my invoice. That was two months ago and no discount has come through. If you're in the military, choose a different moving service.

    Avoid PODS if you value honesty and reliable service. I rented a PODS container, stored it at their facility, and was assured multiple times that delivery to my new home would not be an issue — a move of less than 100 miles. Now, PODS is refusing to deliver, claiming they “no longer service this area.” Their own representative admitted this area was previously serviced when I stored my container, but they’re now forcing me to either drive back to the storage facility and unload everything myself or hire movers at my own expense. It gets worse: Their local phone number is disconnected, The address printed on my contract is incorrect, Their website says deliveries outside normal areas can be arranged by calling a number that doesn’t work, And I’ve found dozens of other customers with the same issue.

    Meanwhile, PODS continues to bill me for storage while refusing to provide the delivery service explicitly documented in my agreement (“Redeliver Container to Your Location”). This feels like a bait-and-switch and a breach of trust. If you’re planning a move or storage and want your belongings delivered as promised, look elsewhere.

    I had a horrible experience with PODS. I scheduled my delivery for July 12th—a date I had locked in all the way back in February. A few hours before it was supposed to arrive, I got a call saying it was delayed due to "unforeseen circumstances" and rescheduled for July 16th. Then, on the morning of the 16th, I got another email saying it was delayed again—this time to July 18th—with no explanation. Both delays were blamed on “unforeseen circumstances,” but that’s completely unacceptable to happen twice to the same customer, especially with almost no notice either time.

    The worst part? I paid $84.18 for a city-issued street permit to legally place the container outside my apartment. That permit was only valid from July 12–18, and thanks to PODS repeatedly pushing back my delivery, I wouldn’t have even been able to legally use the container before the permit expired. I called customer service and was told I'd get a callback from a manager—no one ever followed up. I ended up canceling my order completely because I couldn’t keep wasting time and rearranging my entire move for a delivery that never showed. They say they'll reimburse me for the permit… We’ll see if they actually keep their word. This whole experience was unnecessarily stressful, and for a company that’s supposed to specialize in moving and logistics, PODS really dropped the ball.

    BEWARE!!! Would NOT recommend! On the initial call and setup you are told you have 30 days to fill, transport, and offload your POD. I was told my transit from NJ to TX will take approximately 4 days which is part of your 30 days. When I called to setup the transit I was then informed it would now take 13 DAYS!! This caused a problem as it fell on the last day of the 30 day rental. Keep in mind there is a 3 day grace period, but if the third day falls on a Sunday you lose that day. PODS decided to give a discount to then apply the same fee for keeping it until Monday. I was told if I am able to empty the POD and schedule pickup before Monday, I would get some money back for their mistake.

    I scheduled a group of people and was able to empty it within 4 hours of drop off. When I called for pickup I was told, "Sorry we can’t come today, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday and you will not get your money back." While I have this issue with them happening I was waiting for my last POD to delivered. I paid for early delivery which is 7am-12. They arrived near the end of the window with the wrong size POD. An 8ft instead of the 16ft which was ordered. I was told they would have it corrected that day. I had a hotel setup as I was driving to my destination.

    No calls from PODS and no communication and no one showed up that day causing me to lose the hotel reservation. I called PODS the next day and was promised 7am-10am delivery for their mistake. They arrived approximately 1:15pm. Do not use this service!!! Mistake after mistake and they will not take ownership on their end for all the problems they caused.

    I needed PODS to transport my belongings from a house that I was selling to a house in another state that I was moving to. The booking process was pretty easy. I had questions during the process and they were answered. So, I knew when the pod would arrive and picked up, and when payment would be taken out of my bank account. I also knew when they would arrive at the new place. Putting that scheduling together was important.

    I had two 16-foot pods and the quality was good. They were clean. We had a problem getting the door open on one, and I called here in Oklahoma to let them know about that. The man that I talked to, who was a local guy here, was gonna go out of his way when he got off work and come over here and open that for us. We got the door open ourselves before that, so I called him back to let him know. But it was appreciated.

    When I ordered the pods, they hooked me up with moving company that does moving help in my area. Two hours before it was time to load the pods, the company that hooked us up called and said, “The movers themselves would not be able to come today because they were busy on another job.” That caused some problems. But that was the only problem of significance in the whole process.

    My brother told me about PODS when I needed services for both moving and storage. I initially attempted to book online but ended up feeling more comfortable doing it over the phone.     PODS LEFT ME STRANDED!!! They refused to deliver to my final address which was in the same state where they were storing my items and was under 100 miles away. I was told "we do not deliver to that area, you will need to hire a moving company with a truck to come to our POD storage facility, unload your items into their truck and have them deliver it to your home." Never, at any time, in any of the conversations with their representatives, was I ever told that there were areas they would not deliver to. IF they had mentioned that in the first call, I would not have hired them for my move from Florida to Georgia. I explained to them that this was putting me in a stressful position because I am elderly and disabled, but they did not care. BEWARE!!

    This Company's Incompetence is profound. They lost my container with all my components inside. Currently, I am being told my container arrived at a facility that does not even exist. There is a complete disconnect on all the moving parts that occur when you move. I paid for services I did not receive and haven't heard back from anyone about being refunded. I ordered a feature they offer called city service for +500$, and I paid for a mover, 50$ an hr to help me unload my container. The container never showed. I completed wasted a whole day and paid for a mover that sat in his car and waited for my missing container to arrive. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Complete trash.

My initial interaction, about a month before booking, convinced me to proceed due to the clear and useful information I received. Booking with PODS was simple, and when it came time for the actual service, it was remarkable. The technician was impressive, showcasing professionalism and excellent communication skills making the whole process seamless.

    However, one area I felt could have been improved was the lack of tie-down straps inside the pod for securing my belongings. It would have been helpful to know in advance that these were not provided, as I had to rely on my own tie-downs. Despite this small setback, everything else about the service—from delivery to pick-up—was outstanding.

    My items were well cared for, and the interior cleanliness of the pod was notable. This, paired with the ease of the overall experience, meant my move went smoothly and without issue.
