I needed a pod to store my furniture until I did some remodeling in my home. I knew that PODS would put the POD in my location instead of me having to go to a different location to move the furniture, otherwise I would have to fund a truck and move the furniture. The PODS rep was wonderful and their people were really helpful. I got an email right away saying that was set up and the window as to when the other PODS representative in my city would call me and set up a time or let me know that they were coming. We also talked about my needs and what exactly I was doing. They offered me the different container sizes and they suggested the perfect one for me. I got the biggest one they had for three rooms.
The cleanliness and the quality of the container were perfect. It fit everything perfectly and the guy that delivered it was really nice and he put it exactly where I wanted it. The driver called me and said he'd be there in 10 minutes and he was. I contacted customer service because somebody called the city and said that it was a zoning violation as to where we had it. The zoning person came out and said that if we didn't move it by a certain time that we would get cited. So I called and talked to Kenneth who runs the one here in Albuquerque. He was really nice, got back to me and it was no issue. I didn't need it much longer after the city came out. The only suggestion I'd make is to check with the city in order to make sure it doesn't violate any zoning issues.
I called them back once I emptied the pod and said I'm done. They set up the time for them to pick it up. They came, got it and then I set up to make sure that I was clear with the payment and it was done. The payments came out directly from my account because I had the pod for almost three months. The whole experience was a non-issue and it was perfect. I called, they picked it up. I called, they delivered so I was very happy. They were awesome and I would recommend them.

I got the largest pod from PODS for storage because I was moving. I chose them because they had a special on their pricing, which made them the most cost-competitive. The whole process has been very easy. The rep that I talked to was very good. The drivers were all very nice and asked me where I wanted it or when they were dropping it. They made sure I was happy with it. They checked the door to make sure I can get the door open which was good because it was a little tricky. They were very accommodating and they exceeded what they promised to do as far as timing and giving me access to the pod. It was all very good and I don't have any complaints. It was an excellent way to get through the process and I'd recommend it to anybody.

We were building a house so we needed PODS for both moving and storage. Going with them was cheaper than a storage unit. We booked online and their website was easy to navigate. We moved our stuff into the container then we stored it for almost a year. I spoke to somebody over the phone and they were helpful. The drivers did their own thing. The container we requested was really big since it had all our household storage in it and it was good. We had some mice that got into it while we stored it but it was also stored out on a vacant property, so that's not totally surprising. Overall, the experience with PODS was great. They are very easy to work with and everything went smooth.

PODS was recommended to us by a moving company and booking with them online went smoothly. We got the largest container, loaded it up and delivered it to the new house. Both the drivers that picked it up at our old house and delivered it to our new house were great. They communicated very well. They called before they came, got there when they were supposed to, and took care of everything we needed. Then we got a couple of follow-up phone calls or emails afterward. PODS has exceeded expectations. We'd do it again if we need to and I'd recommended them.

I was moving out and I chose PODS because I have seen their units and my daughter had used them for on-site storage a couple of years before. I got a 12-foot container and it wasn't big but I could fit a whole apartment in it. I had them bring the pod to my apartment, then we loaded it up and they took it to their storage yard. A couple of years later, I was able to access it about three times. They were very nice and everything went as scheduled. Just recently, we emptied it there at the yard.
I'm a phone person and my interactions with their representatives were all fine. They were helpful. My only complaint would be that there were a lot of rat droppings all over, although it was isolated for at least two years. The good news was that I had put sheets over the sofa and protected things. Aside from that, there was a little miscommunication a couple of times on whether the container was ready or not. I could see how that happened but they hustled, got it out of the warehouse and gave me access within 15 minutes. I want to give a shoutout to the people in the Compton facility. The main guy that works in the office was very professional and very good. Plus, there's a gal there who picks up the pods out of the warehouse with a forklift and she was the most amazing driver. She was fast but she was so good and professional. She just whipped around there and put it right in the spot. It was like watching a master at work.

I had PODS for moving and storage for convenience. I booked over the phone a 16-foot pod and it was the correct size for my needs. I got it in a good condition. It was clean when I got it and there were no leaks in it. Also both of the drivers were friendly, helpful and made sure where I wanted the pod. Everybody was courteous and met all the needs and made it as requested. They were very good and professional.

I read reviews on PODS and they were all good so I chose them for moving and storage. Booking online was very easy for someone like me who's not really very computer savvy. It's very self-explanatory and I could pick the exact day and time that I wanted the pods delivered. It all worked out. They called the night before to verify then we're given a window of time and they were always there within that time. The drivers were very pleasant, very professional and they all knew what they were doing. But I had to plan two weeks ahead since they were busy so it's not something that I can call today and get tomorrow.
We got two PODS and both of those were in storage for over a year. The container was very clean and very well made so none of our stuff was damaged. Everything was dry and all stored inside. I had a lot of antiques and I believe the container was climate controlled so all my antiques were intact. At one point we had to get into one of them to find something. We just had to go out to the site in Aurora and they brought it out to a parking lot. So if you need to get something out you can do that at any time and it's free of charge. And you go through what you need to get through and then they put it back. Overall they were professional and reasonably priced, and I highly recommend them.

PODs was great, but it took a while to get my pod. I got the closing date so I want to give it some day. It was just a very busy time of the year when I moved. But, they were great people that worked and did a fabulous job. I even hired the movers that did it through them, and they were incredible too. I got divorced and moving out since it'd be easier for me because I purchased a new house. So we sold the other house and there were 21 days in-between getting out of one house. Then I had to stay in a hotel for 21 days so we tasked the pod, to begin with. They dropped it off and picked it up right when they said they would and they stored it for me for the 21 days or a little longer than that because they couldn't get it out right when I wanted it. They then brought it back to the new house and the guys came to unpack it that same day.
It was hot inside the pod and I even had some bleach and everything was fine in there and nothing was disjointed. My grandson did a great job floating it too though. They were really good about telling me what size I would need cause I had no clue. I went with a 12-foot since a 16-foot container would've been too big and things would've really shuffled around a lot in there when moving it. It was very durable and very clean inside. It's nice and it wasn't all banged up or anything.
The drivers let me know when they were here and they also told me that it's fine if I wasn't going to be home, though I'm usually home all the time. I told the guys that it looks like a Transformer truck that does this because it's so interesting to watch them do it. Then one of them jokingly said that some guy was just sitting around one night and came up with the idea of it. It's genius because if I had to put everything in storage for 21 days, I have to load it, put it in storage and then I have to unload it again. It would have been so many more steps, and I'm disabled so it was the right decision for me. They were very prompt, very informative, have great customer service, and they took great care of my items.

We had a 12-foot temporary PODS dropped off and sit on a site that we originally were housed in. I booked it online and talked to the reps over the phone. They were very helpful and efficient. Then, when it was time to move, I scheduled the pick-up through the customer service call center and everything went very well. Overall, it was an efficient and excellent experience.

PODS was recommended to me by the insurance company for my household storage. I booked four 12-footer containers and they were clean. Although one of them came off at the bottom, it didn't affect our belongings that we had in them. The crew that picked up the container was nice and polite as well. Everything was nice.

We were in the middle of a move and we used the delivery of a 16-foot driveway PODS unit to help us get things sorted from the house, clear the house enough to get the house ready to show, store some things that were going to the storage unit, and sort things that were going to the new house. The containers were clean and in a good shape and it improved our flexibility to get things out of the house and give us a staging place to transfer things to storage and to the new house. We chose them after we watched a couple of friends use them and we thought that it would work in our favor. We booked them over the phone and we're happy with our interaction with their rep. They answered all of our questions very well. The drivers efficiently delivered and picked up the containers. We ended up not doing the final transfer like we had originally planned, but the whole system served us well and we were happy with it. I would do it again.

We went with the large pod and it was perfect. We had the pod for one month on our property, and then they moved it to the new property. The driver who picked up the container had an audience since my kids stood by and watched him do it, and he was great.

I thought PODS would be a simple and inexpensive way to move. Like many companies they are not full service. I told the PODS rep. exactly how much belongings I had and he said their largest pod would hold them. They recommended a packing, moving loading service. This service took all my info and contracted another local company but gave them incorrect information - they didn't know they were packing! They showed up with 2 guys when I needed three, they were slower than molasses so I did as much work as they did. Then the POD wasn't big enough so I had to rent another truck (there were no more PODS available) and another storage space.
The first group expected me to pay for a truck rental that they hadn't even loaded by 6 pm. I had to change an airplane ticket, hire more loaders and stay in a hotel $$$$. From the very beginning I told them from I was moving to West Virginia. They had assured me they had "service all over the USA." I went online to get my stuff delivered on a certain date. They then told me they didn't have service in West Virginia so I would have to hire more people and drive 300 miles to Virginia to get my items (this is after they took payment for delivery to my home). I made a big fuss and finally they agreed to deliver to my home.
Up to the night before delivery I have had no idea when they are coming. I have called daily, usually getting nice people on the phone but many different stories of what was happening with my order. Like one person ask if a 53" truck could come to my home and I said no. I had to find a large place for another mover to meet them which I did. The next person I talked to said No, they would go to one of their own storage places and put POD on a smaller truck and deliver it to me. But they kept the meeting place (a large public lot) as my home address! The entire fiasco ended up costing thousands more than just hiring a major moving line would cost. PODS may be fine for a local move if you have family members to do packing and loading and unloading. Otherwise forget it - the string of subcontractors means no communication and no one takes responsibility for anything.

I ordered a pod from Pods. I wanted the facing my building. When he dropped it he said, “I will move it away from the wall so you can walk behind it and load it.” It began pouring so I told him I would call to have it turned right. When I called he said I accepted how he put it down. It was raining so bad that he put it down and was advised that I would make a call. When I called, customers was so rude and said for a charge they would turn it correctly. I asked it be facing my building. The lock did not work correctly. I will make sure everyone knows that if there is an error on there, you will pay to have done correctly. When I called customer she might as well called me a liar. She talked to the driver and he lied. It she believed him. I am the customer.

We had sold the other property and were moving so we needed to store our things for about three or four months. We were remodeling another property at that time. I went online to reach out to PODS and their website was easy to navigate. PODS cost was more reasonable than a lot of other companies coming in and taking our things. We liked the idea that it was going to an environmentally safe and controlled area. We packed our things and I know it's in there. No one handles it or touches it.
Our only problem was that I was under the impression I could call a day or two ahead of time. I gave them an estimated date for when we wanted the pod delivered. But when we called, we had to wait a week to get the pod delivered. The PODS were all booked. In the end, that was very inconvenient. It wasn't a horrible thing but I wish it had been a little different. I already called customer service about it. On the other hand, they had the wrong layout so we had a tricky layout for bringing the pod in. The driver, who brought it out, was very accommodating. He was told one thing regarding the layout and the special instructions, but he wasn't given that information evidently. But then, he figured it out and fixed it. He did what he needed to do so he's very good.

I had to have a place to store all my stuff as my garage got resurfaced. So I rented a storage unit from PODS and put all the stuff in the garage in it. I called over the phone and we did the information there and they gave me an account to look it up online. It's really easy to navigate their website once I had the PIN. The only problem I had was I needed to get the pod as quickly as possible but it wasn't available so it delayed the job a few days. Then all of a sudden, it became available and by that time, our contractor already booked something else in its place.
I told the rep what I was doing that gave him an idea and I said that the pod wasn't going to be big. I measured it up and I did the number which they gave me too, so it worked out fine. The container was a two-lump storage and it's a 12 footer. We filled it perfectly. Once I told the driver where I wanted it, he took it right up where it needed to go. It was really easy. They were there before 7:30 and I couldn't believe that they were earlier than what I was notified. And it's great because I didn't have to wait and I was able to get stuff done. I was very pleased with what happened and if I need to store my stuff again, I know exactly who I am going to call. PODS has been outstanding.

PODS is very popular so we see them all around. When I went to Google and researched, they were the most reasonable and they were very professional too. But when I started booking online, their website was not fantastic. It wouldn't let me in half the time and it was annoying. I then had to wait 20 minutes to get through when I called. We used them twice, and it was like that every time.
We got the 16-foot container and it was absolutely perfect. It fit everything in which was amazing and very suitable. The drivers were very friendly and sweet too. We loaded the PODS and they took it away twice, and they stored them. We have two driveways so moving the pods was easy. It was a very stressful time moving and I loved the fact that we can have it in our driveway and we can take your time. Everybody was very willing and eager to please and give us good customer service too which was excellent.
PODS is in demand and quite rightly so ‘cause it's a good service. But they need to spend a little bit money on the software. But that aside, it’s definitely worth it. Everything was perfect and it was a great experience. I can’t recommend PODS enough in terms of service. They're reliable, very friendly and absolutely convenient.

Honestly, this experience has been a complete nightmare, and I would not recommend this company for anyone's moving needs. When I reserved the pod for 7/8/17, I was told, "Take as much time to load and when you're ready, call us and we'll pick it up." Okay, easy. I live on a city street, so I went to the city and got a city permit which is good for 10 days. I paid and picked up no parking signs for 3 days since we knew it would take us a maximum of only 2 days to load the pod. We call at 9 am on 7/10/17 to have the pod picked up, and that is when the nightmare service began. The PODS company said the very earliest they could come is 7/21/17 (11 days from the date we wanted it picked up). Unacceptable. More importantly, our city permit is only secured until 7/17/17.
I called PODS 5 times over the course of 3 days to try to get it picked up sooner. Finally, they said they could come on the 17th. When they came on the 17th, a car is obstructing the driver's ability to get the pod and they said they can't come back at any point during the day to try and get it again. We were told there is absolutely nothing they could do. However, it's their fault it took an entire week to pick up the pod and therefore well after we had to return our No Parking signs. When asked for any compensation for their misinformation and inability to help, they repeatedly said "There's nothing we can do." I will never use this company again.
Daniella, we are very sorry to hear about your troubles. We recommend that our customer's call at least a week in advance to schedule any pick-ups or drop-offs. Especially since it is our busy season, and we want to ensure that their desired dates are available. We apologize for any confusion that may have occurred regarding this. My husband and I have moved across the country a few times. For this move from Texas to California we were excited to use PODS so that no one had to drive a U-Haul truck. Mid May I scheduled everything for the POD and that went smoothly. Drop off in TX May 16th, pick up in TX May 28th, transport to CA for drop off on July 7th and pick up in CA July 10th. Everything went smoothly with the Texas portion of the rental. On July 5th, I got a call that the company had a logistical error and that my POD would not be delivered until July 13th. Their excuse was that the July 4th holiday was not taken into account. I don't understand how a ONE DAY holiday results in a 6 day difference for delivery. We have two kids under 4 years of age and all our furniture, clothing, etc. is on the POD. The person on the phone said someone would contact me about "compensation" for the inconvenience.
I did receive an email several days later that just said that we could submit receipts we felt were relevant and that the compensation process could take up to 30 days. July 11th, I received a phone call from an agent stating that my POD is stuck at the California border because they detect bugs in or around the POD. The agent let me know they would pay to send out Terminix to fumigate the outside of the POD. Then if it passed it would be on its way to me, if not I would receive another call.
July 12th another phone call said the first attempt was unsuccessful and our POD would not be arriving on time. He said they would spray again and he could not provide an ETA for our pod. We attempted to contact PODS to discuss compensation and get an update on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of July. Voicemails were left each time. It is now July 16th, we have had ZERO response from PODS since the 12th, I have no idea where our belongings are, and my husband and I are going to have back problems from sleeping on an air mattress for almost two weeks! Extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and lack of appropriate compensation for a company error.

I booked online a moving service from PODS for convenience and requested a middle sized container. It was clean, sturdy and in good condition. However, I should have gone with the biggest one. I had to make some changes and at the time, there was something wrong with the site, so I ended up talking to someone over the phone and they were very helpful. We had tried to change the date and location of the drop off. But the driver, the one who dropped off the container initially, still had the old information and was hesitant to try to move the pod to where we wanted it, which it ended up being fine.
Then the drivers that picked it up from the first location and moved it to the second location were able to work around a car that was parked next to it even if we weren't there to be able to move it and they did it well. I wasn’t there also when the driver who picked it up the last time but they just notified me. They came and picked it up with no problem. I've seen PODS around and they had hard-sided pods instead of canvas or fabric. I booked online and it was a reasonable experience. I got a small 7 x 7 x 7 pod delivered and I had a hard time filling it up which was a little odd. I was stowing things in boxes, and I have a lot. I was concerned about the weight and I didn't want the things on the bottom getting crushed. So I had to finagle some stuff to protect the lower items from the weight of those that went above it and that worked out well. We stored it for about eight months and the sturdiness of the container was more than adequate. Then I have them redeliver it and everything seemed to be in good order when I got the things back and the box was clean. I got it emptied about 6 months later and they picked the pod up.
I've watched two deliveries and one pick up and all in all, the folks that picked up and delivered the pod were very careful, got it where I wanted it within reason, and I'm very happy. My driveway is on a slope. The upper portion is not that large and then these pods would have exceeded the height of the gutter so, the delivery guys were cautious about approaching that.
I was kind of expecting a little bit of a refund which I haven't received yet. The amount was sufficiently small that I wasn't too excited about it and I haven't followed up on that but that's still an outstanding item and I didn't get a final closed out brief email. It's generally a positive experience. The pods were great and gave me plenty of tie-down options inside that helps secure the load. I'd probably use them if I had to store stuff like that again.

We like the reputation that PODS has. I booked them online and it was very easy to get through everything. We got the 16-foot container from them and it was in good shape and the right size for us. We filled it up, had it stored for about 30 days, and then we had it delivered. Their drivers were very friendly, professional and did a great job. I told the guy who picked up the container where the sprinklers heads were and he put a metal plate over where one sprinkler head was that he thought he might have to go over.
I also emailed the local PODS folks because we were getting the delivery set up and it was gonna be a day after we hit the 30 days. So, they were able to move us up a day to keep us within the 30-day window so we didn't have to pay an extra month which was really nice. The local PODS that I worked with was outstanding. I needed a moving pod and storage, and PODS was a lot cheaper than anybody else in the area. Their website was very easy to use. I especially liked that I can look into invoices because I had the pod for three months until I got to my final destination. Originally, I booked with them online but there were some complications of how I was going to have the pod moved and where it was going to be stored. So I had a representative reach out to me and called me. Everyone was cheerful and very informative.
I got the biggest pod that they have and everything was clean on the container and there were no damages. For the three months that I had it, nothing leaked in and nothing leaked out of it. But I wish it was a little bit bigger as I had a lot of stuff. When the drivers dropped off and picked up the pod, my father-in-law was there and he kind of vented here on the engine. He's an engineer so he's got questions about motors but every time, everyone was real nice. Overall, the experience has been helpful and perfect for the situation of moving in general. I booked them online and made several edits over the phone throughout the course of the duration we had the pod. I originally got the 12-footer and upgraded to a 16-footer pod. I spoke to two different people on the phone and they were very easy to work with and were able to basically provide me with the edits that I needed immediately. Also my pod was clean and sturdy and everything stayed in perfectly without any shifting. I've definitely recommended PODS to several people who I know are going through moving and I knew they've actually used them.

We were moving and needed on-site storage and re-delivery of our stuff to our new place and booking with PODS online was quite easy. I'm also glad that I was able to set up the dates I need and everything else online. We got a 7x7 container and it was in a fine shape and it was clean inside. The two drivers I worked with were pleasant and knowledgeable. We have a driveway but didn't really have the clearance the driver needed to unload it so he was all apologetic and put it on the street in front of our home. But it all worked out in the end and overall PODS is an easy storage solution.

I used PODS as I heard really good things about them. My daughter that lived in Florida had used it when they moved to Oregon and was very happy with them. I booked over the phone and the reps were very nice and helpful. They answered all my questions too. I got a 16-foot container that was very clean and absolutely perfect. It has room enough for what we needed. The drivers were very helpful, polite, and tried to go out of their way not to knock down branches. The guys that I hired to unload were johnny-on-the-spot and didn't waste a second. They got in, did what they had to do, and got out. Overall, it was a very good experience and I would recommend them to anybody else I know who's moving.

Somebody recommended PODS to me and I tried to book it online and I wasn't successful, so I did it over the phone. The rep that I spoke to was very helpful. She told me what I needed and what size to get and what the price differences were. I got the 16 feet and she told me I had to get a permit from Arlington County. She knew all the rules in the county. Thank God I didn't get the smaller one to save $40 because I could have used something bigger. Both of the drivers were very nice. Overall, it was a very easy experience and it worked well for me.

My name is on the account but PODS automatically pull money from my hubby's credit card, without authorization based on a couple of payments that he made with it. We have called repeatedly and have received statements that they have the legal right to do so and threats to auction our belongings should we not comply. Additionally the hours and location of the POD site, for access is limited to a narrow window, and no weekends. Now we must seek legal action.

I placed a order for a 16 foot pod 6 months in advance to have one available in July. When I got the pod the driver stated the pod was badly damaged and that GiGi was to have called me about it which she did not. I have tried to call PODS and have gotten no reply. When I first ordered the pod, everyone was wonderful. Now that I have a damaged pod I am not getting any one to talk to me or return my calls. I live on Maui and am getting nowhere. I am shipping to the mainland and am worried about all my items. The driver stated that was the last pod on the island and I can not do anything about it. Plus they sold me a expensive lock and found out they do not have them. I am trying to get my money back on the lock. I am still trying to reach Gigi on Maui. What a mess. PODS was in our front yard for a couple of months. We didn’t want to take it to a facility. We thought it would be best to have it where we can monitor or add or take away from it as needed. My wife booked it over the phone. We requested an 8x10 container, which was clean and big enough. But the front door was a little bit difficult to get up especially all the way up. There’s a piece of metal that hangs out so it was difficult to get the door around. My wife couldn’t do it so I had to do it. The driver was fine, and I talked to him a little bit when he delivered it. We were not here when they came to pick it up so it was all very good.

Our basement flooded and we had to make the repairs down there and then have the items somewhere. We booked the largest available unit from PODS over the telephone and it was great. We went with them for convenience. The unit was dropped in our driveway to store our stuff in. We only had to carry the items upstairs out of the home into the unit rather than get a truck and drive it to a storage facility off home site. The POD driver called and warned us when they were 10 minutes away from our house on drop off and pick up. It was clean and empty when it arrived. The door had functioned as it should.
We had our items in there when it rained several times and there were no leaks. We paid for the delivery in one month and I received a bill for an additional month but that was prior to them picking it up and they called to follow up, to make sure that I wasn't going to be charged for the additional month. I'm a veteran and they offered a veteran's discount and that was appreciated. All in all, PODS was convenient, affordable and easy.

We needed to clean our house out so we could show it and not be cluttered. My son who works in construction recommended PODS and it worked out perfect for us. We got the middle-sized pod from them. The reps were very professional and personable. We were going to keep the container at our house and the realtor said we had to move it, so my wife arranged to have it stored at the warehouse. She did some talking to the customer service reps to find out how it was and it went well. The drivers were also professional. They showed me how to use the door because it was a little tricky at times. They were conscious about getting into the right spot where we wanted the container and where it would work.
Where we moved to, they were very cautious. They didn’t want a container that slid off. I told them it went perpendicular and sat right on the ground. They said that’d be fine because the driveways are all asphalted and sealed. It was everything that we hoped for that gave us a solution. We were thankful for it that our stuff was in a safe location, so we had control over it. It was just a great, seamless, non-eventful situation overall.

I was moving and I had a recommendation to use PODS from a co-worker. Originally I booked it online and it was simple to do, very user friendly but I couldn't apply the military discount so I had to call. Then it took me a little bit to reach out to a representative. The PODS location I kept calling, unfortunately, was busy and the one lady wasn't available so I ended up calling another PODS location but they referred me back to her location because she covers the area where we live. But once I got through she was awesome. She applied the military discount and made suggestions about things to think of that we hadn't even thought of. It was an excellent experience and the follow up after was just as good.
I booked the largest container but came to find out later that we should have gotten two 16-footers. But the container was fine. We put all the belongings in it that we could and it was secured, clean and serviceable. Also the driver who delivered the container was very well-versed. We lived at the entrance to the development plus we had flower beds so it was hard for him to get in and out. It took him a little bit and he had to put special matting to go over the curbing and the flower beds so that we wouldn't block the entire driveway. But once it was offloaded and placed it was great.
We have a larger driveway where the pod had to be returned to our new home so it was even simpler for him to just come in, drop it off and leave. It didn't take him five minutes. Then the representative called back to make sure that everything was as expected, as promised and as purchased. So from start to finish PODS was user-friendly. The web page, the interaction with the customer service rep, the interaction with the delivery, the repeat delivery, everything was as I would hope for. It was very seamless and I would highly recommend PODS if I was going to do it again and I'd also recommend it to a friend.

We packed a POD with PODS moving company, and scheduled in May for it to be delivered to us on June 27, 2017. When June 27 came, PODS said they could not deliver our POD because of a mistake on their part. They apologized and said they would try to deliver it soon--hopefully that weekend. After three more phone calls, employees at PODS said the soonest they could deliver our POD was two weeks later than originally planned, on July 11.
Today, July 10, PODS should have called us to give us a window on our delivery. When we did not hear from them today, we called to inquire about our delivery. The employee saw the note in the computer that promised July 11 delivery, but said that for some reason the delivery was not actually scheduled for July 11. He said he would try hard to get it delivered as promised tomorrow (on July 11), but that if that didn't work, he hoped they could deliver it this Saturday. We are obviously upset that we have to continue to wait for our POD. The delay has cost us money, caused us lots of stress, and we have lost days at work. The company credited us $190, and while we appreciate that gesture, we would rather have our POD and our supplies.

I hired PODS to move my furniture from Las Vegas, NV to Dallas, TX. They were supposed to come the morning of May 1, 2017. Because I wasn't living in Las Vegas, at the time, I had arranged for movers and my real estate agent to meet the PODS container. PODS failed to show up within the window provided. I called PODS and the representative told me she didn't know when the container would be delivered, just that it would be later that day. She promised the delivery person would call when they were on the way. No one ever called. At the end of that day, I called PODS. Apparently, they'd delivered the container earlier that day but since no one called me, I didn't have anyone out there to pack up the container. I was passed around a bit between representatives and ultimately decided to cancel my contract with them. I asked them to pick up the POD that day. The representative told me that the soonest they could recover the container was 5/5/17.
Since I cancelled within 48 hours of the service date, I should have only been charged the local handling (or delivery) fee plus any applicable extended delivery fees. However, PODS also charged me first month's rent and the first month of contents protection coverage. When I disputed the charge with my credit card company, PODS lied and said I didn't cancel on May 1 and that I owe the first month's rent and contents protection coverage.

A co-worker recommended PODS as he used them and without any issues and he stated it was well worth the experience. So I figured why not give them a try as I was moving from Idaho to Texas. Mind you we moved to Idaho and used Mayflower to move for a 1200 mile out of state move. Anyway after we purchased our home in Texas we notified Pods to please ship our belongings. They replied they would and expect 10 working days to arrive. (Nothing I can not live with.) So far people are very nice on the phone to deal with.
After the Pod arrived they brought it to the home and said they could not set it down as the left front bracket was broken (Location of the bracket would be in relation to facing the Pod roll up door) and could not set it on the ground safely. My wife was told a supervisor would call her that afternoon of when the bracket could be fixed and re-delivered.
No call for days then a return call finally stating the bracket was repaired and would be delivered. No delivery and then after numerous calls to the company we finally got hold of "Oscar" who actually stayed on the phone for over an hour trying to help us out. He gave us the address to the location of the Pod and we went to view the unit and the bracket was still not repaired and I was told prior that day the bracket could not be repaired until the contents were removed. (Hence the trip to look at the unit.) After speaking the location manager he assured me he could have it delivered the next day and he kept his word. I called that same day and rescheduled a pick up and was told would not be done for a week.
Today the day of pickup time frame was missed and no phone calls from anyone. And the windows they give are just estimates and nobody and I do mean nobody will take ownership of anything at the company but one gentleman named Oscar. My refrigerator is damaged and it is less than a year old. This is just an overview of what transpired. I do have dates and time of whom we spoke to and what we were told at the time. But I think the 50,000 word max would be just the beginning. Here are some pics also of the inside. Professionalism I gave 2 stars and only because Oscar was the only help and he truly cared and should find a job that has the same values as he does because I think he would really do well.

I emailed my account manager letting her know of our current financial hardships and I would make a payment when I could. I had used my bank card previously to pay for the first fees. I removed that card from my online profile knowing we would have very limited funds for the next few weeks. I opened my online banking last week and to my surprise, PODS had charged the card without notifying me or asking my permission. So naturally I had no warning which meant I didn't plan for that sort of transaction.
My bank says it's no different than someone stealing my card number and making a purchase of some sort. She retrieved old information and made the transaction without my knowledge!! I was "Charged" to have the PODS Company bring me an empty POD for moving. I was "Charged" for a lock for the POD. I was "Charged" a monthly fee to have the POD sit in my driveway until my house sold. All that is understandable, but, then when the time came to move the POD, I gave them a week notice (they ask for 6 days, I gave 7) and so my pick-up date (from my home to my new destination) allowing 3 days at the new place to unload (they request this as well) would still be all taken care of BEFORE my next monthly fee rental and after 6 months of renting it from them I was told that they could not deliver the already packed POD to my moving destination which was 40 miles from my home, I was told they do not deliver to that zip code!?
Of course I was not happy that I paid all the initial and monthly fees only to be told 6 months later after my house sold that they would not deliver the POD to my final destination and proceeded to ask me where else they could bring it to!!?? UGH, I do not have another destination for you to bring it to, I hired your company to deliver it to my new place, why on Earth would I want you to bring it anywhere else? I told them that I was emptying it and that I wanted them to pick it up from me immediately! They of course then said there wasn't an open time slot until the following week. I explained that I needed another company that would deliver for me to park in my driveway and they would not make an exception.
Then that date came and went, I called them and they said there was no confirmation to pick up the date that I was officially scheduled for and rescheduled again. I called to confirm before that day and AGAIN was told there wasn't a confirmation, too busy, rescheduled (3 times) and agreed over the phone and said they would put in the notes to waive ANY fees (I told them how upset I was and refused to pay anything more to them). Now they not only "picking-up" the POD after my monthly fee cycle date (so ANOTHER $189), they are charging me ANOTHER $111 to pick up the empty, unused POD!! UNBELIEVABLE!
Do NOT go with this company unless you have money to blow and you do not plan to move more than 30 minutes for your original destination, even so, make sure the ACTUALLY deliver to that zip code, that is something I didn't know you had to find out. I had no clue where I was moving to when I rented the moving POD, I was selling my home and had no idea at the time, NOR WAS I ASKED, why would I think that they wouldn't move me to my final destination when that is what I hired them for. I talked with 3 supervisors/managers throughout this whole ordeal who basically told me what I wanted to hear to get me off of the phone (each time I sat on hold for 30 min or more between them passing the phone to different people and did NOTHING they said they would do). I am STILL dealing with this, please BEWARE of this company!!

We were moving from San Francisco to the East Bay and had a 1 month time period between our move out in SF and our move into our home in the East Bay. We thought PODS sounded like a good solution to storing our stuff and then moving it to our new home a month later. I called and reserved a month prior to our move out date and asked how it worked to block off a portion of the street in front of our apartment in SF for the moving container. The representative told me that it was up to me to call the city and reserve the permit to put up the no parking signs. I called the city of San Francisco to reserve the permit and they told me that per a new ordinance, the storage company had to reserve the permits and that I would need to come and pick up the signs to put up in the area where the POD would be dropped off.
I called PODS back to tell them this and the representative said this couldn't be correct. After insisting enough she looked into it and told me that I was correct. She said they would take care of it and follow up with me closer to our move out date so that I could pick up the signs for the city and put them out. Weeks went by and I did not hear anything from them and finally I called back 4 days prior to the move to make sure that everything was taken care of. The representative told me that local person in charge of permits would contact me to follow up and make sure that it was taken care of. I did not hear back from this person and had to follow up the next day to get the permit, the only problem being that there was a 72 hour notice window before the permits are valid. The local representative blamed the call center for not putting in the request.
By the time we got the confirmation and the signs put up, there was not enough time for us to be able to be able to tow cars should they be parked in the area where the pod was to be dropped off. The morning of the drop off date sure enough there was someone parked there and they could not deliver the pod. I was told it would be impossible to drop it off same day and that it was our fault for not having taken care of parking permits... They finally were able to get someone out to drop off our pod late in the day but it took no less than 5 calls to finally get everything in place. It is extremely frustrating to have to talk to both local and Florida reps that they have. I found the phone reps completely powerless and useless.
We thought that the ordeal was finished but when it came time for the company to pick up the pod they said that they couldn't because there wasn't enough room in front of the pod to pick it up. I was contacted by a Florida rep who tried to reschedule for a week later (our SF permit expired same day). I then called the local contact who said that they would try to pick it up first thing in the morning but couldn't promise anything.
As a customer, I feel like moving is already stressful enough and I shouldn't have to play middle man between customer service reps in Florida and local reps. I would caution folks who are considering using pods in San Francisco because all the heavy lifting will be on you. You will need to stay on top of PODS to make sure that they get the permits necessary etc. Consider alternative options or companies that actually know what they are doing. Please save yourself the trouble.

I am so unhappy with this company I wish I never made the mistake of calling them. On their wait time hold recording it says that the company will contact you by phone AND e-mail the day before the drop off and pick up. They don't call, they just e-mail so unless you watch your e-mail like a hawk (who does when packing) you will miss when they are coming. When you do get the e-mail it is after hours so there is no way you can fix any errors. You are supposed to receive a call 30 minutes prior to them coming, that doesn't happen, so don't go anywhere. This really applies on pick up as they are notorious for picking up your pod before you are ready and then charge you $215 to bring it back.
Customer Service is extremely unhelpful, unfriendly, and a nightmare to deal with. When they took my pod without notifying me I went all the way up the chain and the only help I got was them telling me it is all my fault and for my troubles they would credit me $40 which they never did. I am moving across the country and they told me it would take 3 weeks to get the pod but it cannot be delivered to the address, no it has to go to their storage facility and from there it will be delivered to my address along with another $215 price tag. I get that they are delivering many pods to the same area, but why am I being charged a fee for that. Isn't that why I am paying over $3,000 to have you move my pod? I bet when I finally get my belonging something will be damaged and it will be all my fault and PODs will not cover it even though I bought the insurance.

We called PODS on June 19th to have their POD picked up from our residence. PODS notified us that they are busy and the POD would not be able to be picked up until July 5th. My husband questioned this because we did not want to be charged the $313.86 to keep it longer than the scheduled date of June 22nd. PODS assured us that we would not be charged the $313 because we called before June 22nd and it was their fault that it would not be able to be picked up.
On June 22nd $313.86 came out of our checking account. My husband again called PODS to notify them of the mistake and Rodriguez with PODS assured us that it was their mistake and he would promptly return our $313.86 to our account. A week later they still have not refunded our account and the POD is still sitting in our driveway. My husband again called PODS and this time they were very rude. After talking with 5 people and a supervisor we have now been informed we will not receive our money back until 3-5 business days until after they pick up the POD.
MY husband questioned that the money was never supposed to come out of the account in the first place and they all stated that this was policy. On the PODS website it states that any money mistakenly taken out of any account will be refunded up to three days, it states nothing about the POD having to be picked up. We are NOT the ones who asked for an extension, they stated they were busy and would not have someone out to pick it up until later. The POD has been sitting empty in our driveway since the 18th. I should not have to wait for PODS to come get their property out of my driveway to receive my money back that they wrongfully took out of my account.

I just moved to Rhode Island and went with PODS to move my stuff. The rates were expensive but PODS compares well with other companies that offer the same service. I chose to load the POD at the facility rather than have it delivered to me in order to save a few hundred dollars as I am on a very tight budget. I was told by the person I talked to initially that a month of storage was included with the shipping. That was great for me because it would allow me time to unload the POD from the facility in Rhode Island.
The POD arrived June 5, and several times I mentioned on the phone to the PODS rep that it would be convenient to have a month to get my stuff from the POD. My date to get the stuff out, I assumed, was July 5. Well my card was charged another $250 for another month of storage on the 22nd of June despite that, the previous day, I'd received an email from PODS saying my card was declined, and I'd responded asking them why they were charging my card when I was paid in full. They didn't answer, and retried my card until it went through the day that my paycheck hit.
I went on the website to try to remove my card from their records and it won't let me. Apparently the "month of storage" I paid for began the day I started loading my POD in Florida, which is not what the rep and I initially talked about. I could have had the POD delivered for less than the additional $237 I've now been charged.

I check my credit card statement... and PODS has charged me nearly $8k in total. After dealing with a very rude employee at PODS for over an hour, I discover that rather than simply cancel the second pod, they ordered a THIRD one, and charged me the entire total for THREE pods, all at once!
The woman on the phone never offered an apology, and although she told me I would "receive a refund." She was unable (or unwilling) to send me any sort of documentation that proved this. I now have to wait until Monday to talk to billing. I am an active duty service member and moving for work. They have told me that I will have to wait something like 5-7 BUSINESS days to receive my refund. The card they charged is beyond maxed out, and it was the card I intended to use to pay for my cross-country move.
Their incompetence has resulted in a five thousand dollar overcharge and I've had to spend hours on the phone dealing with their terrible customer service to try to get the problem resolved, and will have to continue to spend more time trying to get this resolved during the middle of my already stressful move. I will tell all my friends not to use their service. Terrible customer service, incompetent employees.
Christopher, we sincerely apologize for your troubles. Please send us a private message with your customer ID if this is not resolved on Monday.

I admit that I was stressed and panicking when I wrote this review & I feel a bit embarrassed by it now. PODS rectified the situation, and Mike & the other local PODS employees handled it very well and were professional and helpful. I don't think I would have been so upset and felt so panicked (or would have even written the review in the first place) if I could have contacted the local facility directly about the situation from the beginning instead of going through the national Customer Service line. That would be my main recommendation to PODS: to allow customers the opportunity to speak to their local PODS facilities directly, esp. when there are urgent circumstances. Knowing that the local facility is aware of the issue, wants to help, and will do their best to help as soon as they're able (even if it's not necessarily as soon as you'd wish for) alleviates the panic and gets rid of any harsh feelings. Thanks, Mike and Tom. I've updated the star rating of my review to 5 stars.

I ordered two PODS during June 2017. One was delivered approximately two weeks ago and the second was delivered 3 days ago. Both of them are in my driveway as we speak. I'm selling my house and am buying a new one, which is a lot to coordinate when you also have three children, are a single mother, and work a full-time job. Today I called PODS to schedule a pickup of my two storage units. I explained that I'm closing on my house on July 3rd and would like the PODS to be delivered to my new home, which is 15 miles away, on either July 2 or July 3. I was told that the local PODS storage facility is overbooked because it's their busy season and that the soonest they could come to pick up my units was over two weeks away!
At first, the hotline representative sort of had an "oh well" attitude about it. I explained how that was unacceptable because I wouldn't even own the property then, and the new homeowners would undoubtedly want to use their driveway and their garage (which the storage units are blocking!). I explained that having all of my personal possessions stored on someone else's property would put me in a tenuous situation legally, and I asked if the local PODS storage facility could have some employees work overtime, maybe, to meet their customers' needs or if another nearby PODS storage facility could step in and assist if my local branch is overbooked. I was told that ALL of the PODS facilities are overbooked at this time of year, that it's "first come, first served" and that the branches are too far away from each other to assist each other.
PODS should be able to pick up the storage units and move them with only a few days' notice. It's really not that hard of a job!! If a local branch is overbooked, then PODS should authorize overtime, hire additional employees, or do whatever they can to ensure their paying customers aren't left in the lurch like this!! That's what a company with a good business model, that wanted to please and retain its customers, would do.
The representative told me that he would contact "Mike" from my local PODS storage facility and find out if Mike could work me into his schedule. I waited on hold and was told that Mike was unable to look at his scheduling book at the time but that I could call back or check on the PODS website tomorrow. I asked for Mike's contact information, and I was told that the telephone number was unpublished. Apparently, customers are unable to EVER reach out and directly speak to the local PODS branches; your only option is to contact the 800 number and speak to someone in a call center.
I asked multiple times for a ticket number to document/track my phone call, and I was told they didn't give ticket numbers. The representative was named Tavares. He apologized and was nice enough at the end of the call, but I got the impression that (1) I'd be lucky indeed if I ever heard from "Mike". (2) PODS overbooks and you're at their mercy as to when they'll pick up your PODS. It might be a week, two weeks, or even more after you want them to! All I want is for PODS to do what they advertise: to pick up my storage units (which I'm paying for) and to deliver them to my new address (again, which I'm paying for). Moving homes is stressful enough without this sort of additional stress. Now I'm wondering if I need to contact my Realtor and possibly delay the closing date on my house. Please resolve this, PODS!

The only satisfied aspect of my experience with PODS is the delivery gentleman of the Pod itself. He was awesome and so polite. My problem I am having is that I had a predetermined destination for my Pod. The Pod was to be delivered at the location June 22. I called June 21st to cancel the destination address and I was to provide the new destination at a later date and customer service confirmed my request. I called today, June 27th, to deliver my Pod at a different location. They informed me that the Pod was moved on June 19th, without my knowledge or approval. They informed me that the Pod had already left and for them to be able to deliver my Pod to the new location, it would cost me another $1,000. I had already paid $1,600.00 and I was not about to pay more.
This is Pods mistake for shipping my Pod earlier and to the destination that I canceled. Now my Pod is being held until they make some kind of determination of what to charge me and they also have canceled my delivery date, therefore I have no idea when I will see my belongings again. What's interesting is that when I called on June 21st, customer service should have told me that the Pod had left its holding area but I just found out today. I am extremely upset and not sure how to proceed. For those future customers of Pods, please document everything you say and do when talking to Pods and also, always, always, get the name of the individual you are talking to or you could be sorry.

Our experience started off good then turned into a nightmare. We had rented 2 pods. Unloaded one. Called Pods and they picked up. Unloaded the second one and called Pods to pick up. Driver showed up and said it was too wet to load and he would be back in a couple of days. After 2 weeks no one came back. Called Pods and was told driver could not pick up and I would have to reschedule so I said ok and asked for a time. She replied it would be 2 months before a driver could make it out and I would be charged for the months. So I said ok I just want this gone because we were selling our house.
Next pick up time came during another rain storm and the same thing happened. I called and was told another month. I told Pods I would not pay another month. This went on for 8 months. The only way I could get the Pod picked up was the owner of the home we sold threatened to sue them if they did not get it off the property. Now they have placed an 1100 collection on my credit report. I think at this time I would love to find other victims that have been treated the same way and let's start a class action suit.

I wish I could give ZERO star to PODS MOVING AND STORAGE! My worst nightmare. I'm trying to schedule a pickup for my moving container from PODS since 6/22. My moving date is 6/28 and even though on their website it says is pretty easy and a quick call, the only date available for pickup is 07/06. So this is not even the 7 business day I was told on the phone the day I called to schedule the pickup (6/22) (NOWHERE IN THEIR WEBSITE SAYS THAT), it's 10 business day. I've been giving excuses, false statements and promises of "managers" and "vice-president of operations" calling me back regarding the pickup. No one has called me back.
The closing in my house is tomorrow (6/28) and I have to be out of the house by Thursday (6/29) morning or they will cancel the closing. In doing so, I will also lose the deal on the house we bought. I explained the situation to all representatives of PODS, and believe me I spoke with several of them, but no one could help me. I asked to speak with a manager, but no one is available. After several attempts to talk to someone that could give me a definite answer, they put someone on the phone that entitled himself as Supervisor - his name was "Colby." He promised he was sending the issue to his vice president and would call with an answer. 24hrs went by and no one called - again another lie.
This Call Center is out of Florida and all they do is blame the warehouse in MA. They say warehouse phone number is always busy and they "might be able to send a truck if there's a cancellation". Seriously??? So, Am I supposed to wait for them to have a cancellation?? And then what? Lose the sale and purchase of my house because they cannot have their container picked up from my driveway? They don't have a backup plan in case there's an emergency and they need to remove their container out of someone's property???
Also, warehouse is so "busy" and they don't work on Sundays??? We gave them several options to either pickup and deliver to our new address or to remove and store at their facility and deliver when they can. Or to remove it empty and we find another company to do our moving. Nothing. They simply don't care. Why can't they find a towing company to remove their container? There's no respect for their customers. Their employees are trained to lie to you and never give you an straight answer. I'm in contact with a local towing company to have the container removed from the driveway. I will not pay for the disservice I got from PODS. The worst company I ever had to deal with.

I have never dealt with a company that cared less about their customers. They literally can't be bothered. We scheduled a POD to be dropped off and picked up on the date we move and or lease is up. The website says to call 3 days prior to pick up to confirm day and time. We did and they said the soonest they could pick up was more than 2 weeks later! We will now be moving into our home with NONE of our things. And it landlord is threatening to keep our deposit because the stupid POD is in the driveway. Never, never, never using this company again...if I have to cart my furniture on my back across town. You'd be smart not to use them either!

The local PODS company, (Collierville, TN) delivered a storage unit that was damp, damaged, had weeds growing out of the side, moss growing on the front, and the roof gaskets hanging down into the storage area from the roof. It was unsuitable for the storage of household items. When it was dropped off, the driver explained to my wife that the POD had been sitting in a muddy field for "a couple of months".
I called to have the unit replaced. I made numerous calls to the PODS customer service number and the representatives were unable to make phone or email contact with the local PODS employees. All of the representatives agreed that a Pod in the condition that I described was unsuitable and NOT representative of their products, still, the local PODS employees were unwilling to make contact with them or myself, and unable or unwilling to replace the POD with a "broom clean", dry, and structurally sound Pod storage unit.
We were forced to cancel our contract and make other last minute arrangements for storage. The PODS supervisor(s) I spoke with agreed that I should not be charged for this failure to deliver a usable unit. Today (June 26, 2017) I got the call that there would be no delivery or storage charge, but there would charge $75.00 to pick the unit up. That Representative argued that because the POD was picked up and used elsewhere, it should have been acceptable for my use. NO! NO! NO! They had a chance to start a conversation locally, to offer some sort of explanation, or to exchange the POD for a clean unit but REFUSED to contact me, or their representatives, refused to answer emails, and refused to return phone calls. I spoke to at least 6 customer service agents and at least one supervisor who agreed with me but could contact the local operation.
CUSTOMER SERVICE FAIL! I should not be charged anything for this time wasting and costly disaster. I will find as many web sites as I can to tell the world that this is a great idea but FAILS when working with an 800 number and no local contacts and certainly beware of the Memphis operation where units are stored in muddy fields prior to being used to store and preserve your household belongings. PODS gets one star because that is the lowest I can rate them.

Generally, we are happy with using PODS for our move from FL to CA. The PODS was delivered and picked up as promised from our FL home and dropped off and picked up from our CA home as promised. We liked the ability to pack the PODS at our convenience. However, 2 items were damaged in the transport. The wrought iron legs on one side of our dining room table are bent, so that the table is on a slant. Additionally, all 4 feet of our grandfather clock are broken making it impossible to stand it up. I am not a professional mover, but I think the PODS was dropped from a high place. There was damage to the side of the PODS that was not there when it was dropped off originally in FL. Unfortunately, we were not advised about the additional insurance available through PODS or that we should obtain our own insurance. My recommendation would be to use PODS, however, make sure your items are covered against damage.

I scheduled two pods to be picked up from my yard on June 23. Somehow, after over ten minutes on hold with the PODS customer service line (the chat apparently was not available), I learned that somebody had deleted my pickup information. No apology, no discussion -- they just rescheduled for two weeks later. At that time I will be out of the country, and am likely to be facing fees from my HOA for violating the terms of my agreement with them for storage times. They put me on a waiting list for a sooner pickup, but I am not likely to hear back from them. I have the correct date on my calendar, but am unable to verify because they cannot see it on their screen. Moving is frustrating and stressful enough; this little turn of events hasn't made it any better and there appears to be no accountability for their oversight.

Terrible customer service in the last week. If I could give a zero I would. Choose PODS over other companies due to promised delivery time. It was more expensive but time was a factor. We move from Illinois to Arizona. We were told only 3 days needed for delivery. We called to set it up and were told earliest time for delivery is 10 days out. So, after a very long call no one is willing to help us. Haven't had our stuff for over 2 weeks, going to be almost 2 more weeks. We have to reschedule internet, TV and electric hook ups again.
We also have to spend this time in either a hotel or buy new furniture since everything we own is in that Pod. Customer service said won't help and said that our only option is to hire movers to pick up our stuff from the facility and pay for it ourselves. This is ridiculous if I would have known that from the beginning I would have chosen a cheaper option with the same time frame. In order to get my stuff I now need to pay an additional $500+ to get movers. Which is ridiculous. And PODS won't reimburse me for it or even waive the delivery fee. Which makes no sense. If I have to pay to pick up from their facility why do I still have to pay their delivery fee?

SAVE YOURSELF A BIG HEADACHE AND CHOOSE ANOTHER PORTABLE CONTAINER COMPANY. This one is more expensive and they don't work with you or communicate with you. They are unorganized and made multiple errors with my order! have been very unsatisfied with PODS, I will list why:
For my first pod, to be dropped in FL was same day drop off and pick up, they picked up the POD when I was not there. They did not call. They came before the scheduled window and the POD was NOT COMPLETELY FILLED. When I arrived ready to load more items the POD was gone. When I called to complain they explained that the driver should have called and that I could have asked for a later pick-up time when scheduling. However, it had never been communicated to me that was an option as the schedule is emailed to you the evening before. FRUSTRATING also FYI you will have only a 3-4 hour window to load your POD if you choose same day drop off and pick up. They don't tell you this until the night before.
They overcharged my credit card by double totaling over $8,000. They did quickly refund it without my even asking. However that was not acceptable. What if I hadn't had the money on my card? When returning my POD to me they made a mistake in notation and did not correctly schedule my same day drop off and pick up. They actually scheduled to pick it up before it had even been dropped off! The local POD employees did their best and got the POD to me and were very nice but unfortunately this created unnecessary stress. Also when they emailed me the night before with the messed up drop off and delivery time it was already past the time the customer service was closed. I couldn't contact anyone to correct this mistake until the next day and even then it was a big ordeal on the phone.
They don't tell you when the POD will be coming until after 6:00 pm EST the day before so if you are trying to schedule someone to help you load the POD it is virtually impossible and very stressful to work around this last minute type of scheduling. They did not go to the correct location initially. I stood in the parking lot literal waving down the POD as it passed me by. I spent over 5 hours for various reasons on the phone with their customer service. I had to pretty much BEG to get a $75 refund for all the mistakes on the same day drop off and pick up. They made mistakes with same-day drop off and pick up both when dropping off my POD to load and when dropping off my POD to unload. For Long distance moves expect 10-12 Business days of transit so if you are going to be at your location before that you may want to go a different route or schedule so you are not at your house with no items like I was.
Overall, this was a completely horrible experience. I will NEVER use them again. If your purpose is to SELF load that is no helpers, and you plan to do it over an extended period of time or If you do not need your pod dropped off and picked up on the same day and if you don't mind having your items in transit for almost 2 weeks this could work for you. It did NOT work for me and the way they communicated policies was VERY lacking. I am a COMPLETELY UNSATISFIED customer and I am thankful that my employer is paying for this service. I don't think I could pay for this horrible service from my own personal money. I would refuse.
Lastly, and very significantly their supervisors and representatives although very nice are not informed and every time I called it was necessary to completely restate previous concerns/ problems and all pertaining information. The customer service hours are quite limited if you want to call in the evenings and you are not the east coast plan to do so very EARLY. Do not schedule a service on Monday because Sunday evening you will be unable to reach anyone at customer service. I strongly advise you please consider another company.

PODS destroyed some of our furniture during a moved from a container that leaked water and the furniture sat in water and grew mold over it during the move and storage. The PODS customer number for Lawrence and Margaret ** was (and is since this is not closed) **. The PODS order number is **. We paid the insurance premium for coverage from start, Shakopee, Minnesota, to end, Oklahoma City. The first call to PODS to report the destruction of our furniture PODS created an incident number of ** on May 24th, 2017.
Our furniture was loaded without visible damage in Shakopee, Minnesota. We have contacted the loaders in Shakopee. Loaders assisting me (Lawrence **) will sign affidavits that the furniture was loaded without any visible damage. The loaders' names are Dennis **, Steve ** and Simon **. The damage was discovered on unloading by the crew of Arm and Dolly at 405-215-9784; their names are Shiloh, Sam and Zeke. I believe, but have not asked, if they would be willing to provide affidavits or even testify locally as to the conditions of the furniture as removed from the PODs.
All three pieces of furniture with severe damage were in the same POD, number **. The three pieces of furniture with severe damage were located at the front wall or end opposite the door. The damage was sustained from long and excessive water damage. The water damage on the wood caused swelling of the wood, cracking and discoloration and mold growth. The water damage on the leather sofa caused hardening of the leather, cracking and discoloration and mold growth. Pictures are available. The first piece was a dining room buffet from a dining set over 95 years old and not replaceable. It must be repaired regardless of cost! IT was in excellent condition until it was damaged by water in the POD **.
The second piece was the lower cabinet of a teak bookcase and entertainment center. IT is 38 years old and was in very good condition until it was damaged by water in the POD **. One side of the lower cabinet the water damaged is an ugly stain that may be fixable with expert resurfacing and finishing. The shelves are swollen and deformed and not usable or repairable. The third piece was leather loveseat of a matching set. The set consists of a sofa, the loveseat, a large chair and an ottoman. One area of the loveseat is completely ruined. Recovering the loveseat will make it not match the rest of the set.
When I called about the damage on May 24th, I was given the incident number and told I would receive a call the next day (Thursday, May 25th) to provide instructions for sending the pictures of the damage. I received no call on Thursday, and my wife, Margaret, called on Friday, May 26th and was told by a Lillian that no one would get back to us for three to five days. She told the customer service agent that was unacceptable, and we would hold payment of remaining charges (through Discover) until there was a settlement on the destruction of our furniture. Margaret told them she expected a call by the evening of that day.
When the day went by and no call came, my wife called around 5 pm and this time got a gentleman who attempted to get someone of higher authority to help us. She was put on hold. Of course, the gentleman came back on the phone and said the higher authorities had left for the day. He then assured her that someone would get back to her the next day, Saturday, May 27th. Of course, no one did. He did tell her that if we pointed out the problem POD and the damage sustained to the driver picking them up, it would expedite the resolution. The driver picking up the PODS was Don and would not give his last name. He was a ** man about 58 and rather husky but not overweight. Don agreed the POD ** had water stains on the floor and took pictures of them on his cell phone. He also took pictures of the damaged furniture and said he would submit these.
He asked if there had been a washing machine in the POD to which we answered no. The washer and dryer remain with the house in Minnesota as did the refrigerator (that can be attested to by the buyer). Don provided us with his boss' name and phone number, Kevin ** at cell **. My wife called Kevin, but he was of NO help and was quite irritated she would disturb him on a Saturday. Kevin dismissed her call, said it was not his problem and it has to be handled by corporate. He said he would send an email to advise them on Tuesday.
During the pickup on Saturday May 27th, there was water draining from the floor of POD **. I assured Don, as he could well see, the POD was not near any lawn sprinkling system as it was in the center of the drive and there was no water hose available. It had not rained since the PODS were set there. Don was in agreement that the water was draining from the POD floor. The other three PODs had no drainage. The front wall had a budge in the fiberglass between the wall and top where the seal was not in compression. Don took a picture of the defect and said he would submit it as well. Don offered that the Oklahoma crew would have caught this and would NOT have let a POD out with the problem, but suggested the Minnesota crews were not as vigilant.
Don also suggested there had been extremely heavy rains during the transit and did have water blow in. Don was in total agreement that the water entered during transit, the damage had been started transit and sustained during setting in storage. There would have been no damage if the POD did not leak. The other problem is the rental on the PODS. First, I was told by the salesman, Robert (again only first name) on initial contact that I would be in control of when the PODS were to be delivered and picked up provided that there was adequate time in between for transit. Also, Robert underestimated the total cost by several thousand dollars because of rental, insurance costs and taxes.
On the first two PODS, ** and **, I was charged two months rental. I told them we would complete the move in less than one month, and I was told the extra months' rental on the first two PODS would be REFUNDED. I was also told IF the unloaders could not complete on time there would be a 5-day grace period. We emptied the PODS on May 24th. I called to have the PODS picked up the next day 25th. The service representative said they could not schedule a pickup until after our third month started (May 27th). This makes the salesman, Robert, a liar as he clearly stated I was in control of pickups and there was NO grace period. I am not paying three months rental on PODS ONLY used 4 weeks because the company wanted to delay pick up until after the new month started.
How can PODS charge me three months rental for PODS used from April 27th until May 25th??? The rental is $566.35 for two PODS per month. The first two PODS were used less than one month and we were originally charged for two months and an additional charge was added on May the 27th because PODS would not pick them up until the 27th. PODS owes us $1140 for excessive rental. PODS has been charging us through our Discover card. When we found the damage, and PODS showed no interest in resolving the issue, we called Discover. They agreed with us that PODS is not being cooperative and they are holding the last month charges from PODS (over $3000) in dispute and they have notified PODS of our problems with them. Discover was very much on our side in this dispute as we have been very good customers of theirs for a long time.
We also contacted a furniture repair expert who came out and looked at the damage. He estimated $500 for the buffet alone (another estimate online said $920). The love seat is ruined as the damage is not repairable. We did not discovered the damage to the teak bookshelf until after the repairman had left. It is an obvious water stain down one end of the case. We did get it repaired to usable but not as good as it was prior to the water damage. We have paid $1500 in repairs and still owe $500 on a delivery to be made June 25th plus the leather loveseat has not been repaired. The low bid on recovering the love seat is $1200 but it may not match the remaining pieces in the set.
Also, my wife got a survey form from PODS to determine if Lillian had done a good job of solving our problem. My wife explained the situation of how our furniture was damaged and how angry and disgusted we are with the lack of concern from PODS. We expected some kind of reply. We have gotten none. We assume that the customer satisfaction survey is useless and never read. It is just an attempt to pretend PODS cares about how it treats its customers.
We have found that PODS customer service and salespeople are dishonest and not concerned about resolving problems. PODS as a company is dishonest and has charged our credit card for services and rentals not used. We paid for insurance, they damaged some of our furniture and have not paid for the lowest cost bidders on doing the minimum repair! PODS lied about allowing us to set the schedule. PODS lied to us about the cost and services for the cost. PODS claimed that the insurance would not cover floods, tsunamis, earthquakes, riots, terrorism or acts of God. PODS used this as a reason to cancel our insurance.
The insurance investigator, Deborah A. Williams | Vice President-Claims, dwilliams@unirisc.com | Phone: 407.228.2026 | Fax: 407.228.2797 of UNIRISC said she investigated and found PODS claim to be valid that they could cancel our insurance. WHAT - she investigated and did not find evidence of a flood, did not find evidence of an earthquake, did not find evidence of a riot, did not find evidence of terrorism, and did not find evidence of an act of God. But yet she used this as a reason to disallow the claim. What kind of investigation did she do?
Also three of four PODS had NO damage and all were transferred at the same time. The POD with damage was only in the front and limited to a small area. There was no water in the rest of the POD as from the disallowable catastrophes. The damage came from a water leak even though bad but not enough to damage more than the small area in the front of the POD. This was negligence in checking for a leaking PODS and is what the insurance is to cover. With the damages and overcharges, PODS owes us just over $4400 and that is ignoring a month of aggravation.

My initial experience arranging for a POD delivery was very pleasant. Due to parking at my current apartment I requested that my POD be delivered and picked up the same day. I was told that there was an extra charge, but that this could be accommodated. I was very happy to have arranged storage for my belongings in a stressful time of purchasing my first home and being in between residence for 3 weeks.
One week before my scheduled move I called to see if there was any possible way to change my delivery date, I was informed that not only would they not change my date, but they would not honor my initial date because the person who took my order didn't complete it properly! When I asked to speak to a manager to discuss why they were not fulfilling my order due to an error on their point she was rude, condescending, and offered absolutely no solution. If I had not called to ask to change my order, I would have found out the day before my move that my order wasn't valid! I was stuck without any solutions and with too short of a time frame to schedule another service! Terrible experience, rude employees!

We had an outstanding experience with setting up our account and having 3 different Pods delivered on time and accurately. However, a incredibly frustrating and unacceptable experience came about when I was ready to set up the final destination of delivery once our final destination was determined (Texas, NYC, or Oregon). When I called to let Pods know of the city we would ultimately be moving to (I was interviewing for senior executive jobs across the U.S.) I was notified that two of our three Pods had already been shipped to Texas which was NOT where we were ultimately moving!!!
An incident report was created and that's when the nightmare began!!! The initial email I received from our assigned representative listed that our case would be resolved within 5-7 business days. I sent her a reply right away to thank her and to let me know how I could be helpful as this situation was resolved. After a COUPLE of WEEKS of not hearing back from our rep I placed at least two calls into her and NEVER received a reply! I finally sent an email asking for a status update and she finally returned my message and stated the normal turnaround time for a resolution was 30 days (huh??). I told her that time frame was unacceptable and she committed to reviewing by the end of the week.
Well, I finally heard back from her and she was proud to be following up with me a day earlier than she committed to (REALLY??) and shared that she reviewed the 2nd call I had with the rep and said I told them to move 2 of our 3 Pods to San Antonio (REALLY???!!). It made no sense to me. Why in the world would I have sent only 2 of 3 Pods to Texas?? She started quoting me the exact time on the 2nd call I had with the rep and I was floored!!! I told her to review my FIRST call when I set up our account to understand that we were in a limbo state of where we were moving. She told me the resolution was to pay for our goods to be shipped from Texas to our new destination.
Now, I fully understand paying the difference in mileage from where we are ultimately moving versus Texas; however I am shocked that we would need to pay for an entirely new move!!!! I placed an email into our rep this past Friday after a heated discussion via phone and can't wait to see how long it will take to finally follow up with me. The ironic parts are 1) My new employer is paying for our move and I am now fighting due to the poor treatment I've received as a customer. 2) A portion of my new role will consist of overseeing the relocation of HUNDREDS of employees and come to find out -- my new company is in active negotiations to secure Pods as a preferred vendor!!! Needless to say, if my experience is any indication of how Pods treats customers they will absolutely NOT become a preferred vendor.

I used U-Pack on my move up to GA and thought that was an unpleasant experience so I decided to use PODS for my return move. BIG mistake. When I called to initiate the move, the girl I spoke with went over the contents of my home and insisted one 16' container would be plenty. Well, not even close. I had to scramble and try and order a second one before my closing this coming week.
When I called (after a 45 minute wait to speak with someone) I was told it would be an ADDITIONAL $2,000 to have the second POD transported even though two would be going on the SAME truck, at the SAME time. That would make it just over $4,000 just to go 650 miles! Are you kidding me?? I cannot reach anyone who can discuss this. Between transport costs, drop off costs (twice, because she completely miscalculated) this move will come close to $7,000. I am beside myself with how awful this has been handled and the cost is astronomical and not worth it.

I have scheduled to have our PODS picked up two times. Both times they did not show up. When I call to see why they did not show up they apologized and say their computers are broken and say they can pick them up in 4 or 5 days. It has now been two weeks and the PODS are still on my property. I called today to get this issue resolved. I was on the phone for over an hour today (after they did not show up yesterday) and the best they could do for me was tell me they can pick up the PODS in 4 days. For a business that picks up and drops off storage containers they are very unorganized. I would not recommend you use this service.

We stored our furniture with PODS 2 years ago while we embarked on the process of having a home built. The process has taken longer than expected but we thought we had the peace of mind knowing that once our home was complete we would just have to contact PODS and they would deliver our belongings directly to our new home, as expressed when we first contacted PODS. We are only moving roughly 30 miles from our original location, yet PODS doesn't service our new area, even though our new city IS LISTED AS A SERVICEABLE AREA ON PODS WEBSITE.
I am beyond frustrated and have spent hours on the phone with PODS talking to several different people and getting disconnected several times, all while they pretend they will do their best to find a solution, only to be transferred to JOSE, a supposed senior level employee who can begin the resolution process for us, who rudely and very unsympathetically tells me the most they will do is deliver our container to a facility within 17 miles from our new house, where we have to rent a truck, unload and reload our furniture and bring it to our new house ourselves.
Had we been explained that there are certain areas they don't service (even though we stayed within 30 miles from our original location) we would have never stored our belongings with PODS, since the entire concept, straight from their website, is "You only load and unload your belongings once into your portable storage container. This decreases the likelihood of damage and saves you the hassle of unloading and reloading should you require storage as part of your move." We were NEVER told there are unserviceable areas even though from the start when we contacted PODS we were unsure where exactly our new location would be, only that it wouldn't be more than an hour away. I am sickened at the amount of money I've wasted on our pod over the course of two years only for them to tell us that we have to come to them and unload our pod ourselves, which will cost us even more money.
I understand there may be reasons they cannot service certain areas but they need to correct their website that LISTS LOCATIONS THEY DON'T ACTUALLY SERVICE. To add to our frustration, I have never spoken with a more uncaring and unprofessional individual in "conflict resolution" who could actually have cared less about working out solution for our problem. Stay away from this company since it's obvious they don't have their customers best interests in mind.

Have a contract with PODS that the POD would be delivered today, 6/12/17. After numerous phone calls to find out when it would be delivered we found out that the POD was not even in the state where we are at. We then learned that the POD was in their hub in New Jersey and it was taken off of their schedule to be delivered to us and would take another 2 weeks to get to us in Maryland. We did not authorize this and they can't tell us why it was taken off of their schedule. This company has done nothing but tell us lies and apparently does not know what they are doing. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM, PAY THE EXTRA MONEY FOR PROFESSIONALS TO DO YOUR MOVE!! WE HAVE LEARNED OUR LESSON!! We are still waiting for someone at PODS to call us and let us know when our POD will arrive. Nothing but aggravation and headaches with this company.

I would not recommend PODS to anyone! Difficult to work with and they falsely claim that you only need to schedule container pickups and drop-offs 7 days in advance. I tried to schedule container pickup 21 days in advance, but was told the soonest they could pick up was 35 days later, which last time I checked was a lot longer than their recommended 7 days. I let them know that I was closing on my house on the 23rd day, so my POD would be left in the new homeowner's driveway for 2 weeks, but they didn't care. Their solution was to hope someone cancels their pick up and then they might squeeze me in. I have made several calls to customer service and the reply I've gotten was "We will send an email to the local manager, add a note to the account, and hopefully someone will cancel that week."
I have been told that our area (Minneapolis) is very busy and has a large backorder, so I asked what PODS was doing to resolve their backlog issue. Seems like a well run company would send in additional trucks to help resolve an issue. The response was apologies from the customer service people, but they didn't know what was being done. I asked to be transferred to someone who could answer the question, but was told they didn't know what department would handle those issues. I am now forced to work with our realtor to find out if the new homeowners mind having our POD in their driveway for 2 weeks or if PODS poor service is going to force us to push back the closing on our home.

My wife ordered a POD and this was our experience. I placed the order over a week before it was supposed to be delivered. I received numerous confirmation emails and a phone call the day before confirming the service window. There were plenty of notices saying not to plan any movers on the day of delivery but for the next day. This was supposed to be a for sure thing and we planned to move many items in the following day. They gave us a window of 12-3 pm on Saturday 6/10/17 and we had boxes packed and furniture turned on their sides ready to load up over the weekend.
Around 1:30 pm, I received a phone call that went straight to my voicemail, the message stated that due to unforeseen circumstances they could not deliver container today and it was rescheduled for 6/21/17... 11 days from now!!! Are you kidding me?!?! This is absolutely unacceptable. There was a number left to speak with a senior agent in their call center in Florida. I called back immediately and tried to get answers. Unfortunately, the woman I spoke to, Deana, was unable to help as she wasn't dealing with the local drivers in my area. I was not able to speak with anyone who could do anything for me. I asked her to have one of the local PODS representatives call me as soon as possible so we could try and figure out a reasonable fix but have not heard from anyone at this time.
I am now being put into a really tough spot having to do everything at the last minute when I thought everything was set and I could move on with my life. PODS is so unreliable if they think this is okay behavior. We were counting on this company and they have let us down. My hope was that since they were delaying the deliver by SO much was that they would offer something in return for our trouble but they basically said there was NOTHING they could do. So now we have to live in a torn up home until we figure this out or find another option at the last minute now.

I have had my PODS since early April. I called on May 2nd to schedule my pickup and delivery dates to move from Portland to San Diego. I was very specific in my pickup and delivery needs. First, because I was waiting for my house to close and needed the payment (which comes out five days prior to pick up) to be well after the close date. And second, because I wanted a specific delivery date so we wouldn't be too long without our belongings. The date we decided on for pickup was June 17, the payment would come out June 12, giving plenty of time for my closing funds to hit the bank. And delivery was to be on June 23. I called a few days ago to confirm the dates (glad I did) because the pick up date changed to June 16 and the payment date to June 10. I was told that there was no way that delivery could have been on June 23 because it takes 7 business days to deliver.
I have now had to reschedule other services to align with the 2nd set of dates I was given and have incurred additional charges due to those changes. I'm fortunate that the closing funds hit early, because June 10 would've been too early otherwise. When I called customer service today, the agents talked me through circles. Then when I escalated to a manager, after some talking, I was put on hold so that she could provide me with a reference number and within a minute or two of being on hold, I was hung-up on. I am very unhappy with the services provided, the treatment I was given, and the incorrect information that has now put me in a bind.

For starters the company couldn't deliver the POD when promised, they delivered 4 days late which caused all kinds of issues, and, they didn't tell us this until the day it was due to be delivered! When someone is moving exact dates are very important and being 4 days late made us reschedule movers, and all kinds of other things (movers being the most important). Now that the POD is in storage I have 2 storage units rented because most the contents are going into storage for a while. I tried to schedule a drop off time, I have the movers scheduled to unload the POD and guess what, the facility that has my POD is over a month behind because they are short of drivers. So, I am paying for storage units, I had the movers all set, and I now have to wait for a month and a half for a delivery date!?!?
On top of that they expect me to pay for the POD storage for this extra time that they are holding my POD hostage!?!? I was told by customer service that I can be put on a waiting list and they could call me anytime to tell me my POD is being delivered. Well that does me no good because I need to get help unloading it, and the storage unit doesn't want it sitting in the way in the meantime. This is the poorest example of customer service I have ever seen. None of this was explained to us when we rented the stupid POD, or I would have NOT rented it, I had other options. I wanted to give them a negative rating but I can't do that so I had to give them 1 star which in my mind is way too many for them. If someone reads this review please... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

I was told when I inquired about renting the POD that to have the POD with my belongings in it delivered to the new location all I needed to do was to call 3-7 days in advance and they would bring them right out. THIS IS NOT TRUE!!! I had 2 PODS dropped off at my house on 5/6/17, filled on 5/8/17 and picked up on 5/9/17 to be placed in storage. My storage time should have started on 5/9/17 with one month storage fee lasting until 6/9/17. When I called to have the PODS delivered to my new house on 6/5/17, I was told that they could not be delivered until 6/9/17. I insisted that this was not soon enough and asked her to hold the 9th but to please try to arrange for an earlier date. She put me on hold, called the manager at the Eagan facility, came back to the phone and said that it went to voice mail and that she would send him an email and call me back. She never called.
I called again to see what was happening and was told that not only was the 9th date not put on hold for me but that now their delivery was out to the 21st of June almost 4 weeks away. I explained that we were in temporary housing paying $133.00 per day and that this delay was going to cost a lot of money. I was then told that I was going to have to pay an additional month storage fee of about $440 for the 2 PODS. And that I should hire a moving company to go and get my belongings to bring them to my house if I needed them earlier. I explained that I did look into that and the cost would be about $2000. I have still not received an email or call from a PODS supervisor trying to rectify this situation or compensate me for the additional cost using this company will cost me. In theory this seemed to be a very economical solution to bridging the gap between having to move out of one house while waiting to close on another but this is becoming a nightmare.

The whole purpose we chose PODS, and are paying a lot of money, is for the convenience of having our belongings stored and transported for us. I feel A LOT of $$ has been WASTED and now will have to ask my friends and family to help unload PODS another day, in addition to what they have already graciously committed to because PODS isn't prepared to accommodate busy moving season.
I was told to schedule my final delivery date at least 2 weeks prior. I went to schedule my final delivery 28 days ahead and found the online scheduling calendar booked for next 32 days. I called cust. service and didn't have best experience. The first rep asked me to call back in one hour and have rep look at notes in my account - as she was calling distribution center to see if there was any possibility of me getting the date I wanted. She was surprised the entire month had already been booked, hence why she was going to call. I was happy she was being proactive but didn't like how I was supposed to call back in one hour.
I called back and the second rep actually "scolded" me about how they are not supposed to be calling distribution center... and I told her that I was just calling back per the first rep's order. I asked to be transferred to another rep- she was very unprofessional! The third rep advised me to "go to PODS storage location and unload POD in their parking lot into my rental truck. It's what a lot of people are doing ma'am." I was shocked and frustrated that THIS is "the" best solution next to waiting to see if I hear back from the distribution guy if there is an opening that pops up, but otherwise nothing they can do.
If this is such a busy time, then why doesn't this mega company PLAN and hire more staff to be more accommodating. Busy moving season should = Hire MORE people to keep customers happy! I am completely dissatisfied, and irritated, that this company MISSED this "101". And lastly, when I signed up and scheduled PODS to be delivered over 4 Months ago, there was never a conflict on scheduling calendar and frankly were wide open. There should have been some sort of alert of heads up about scheduling WAY IN ADVANCE for the busy season- because they are not staffed to accommodate their customer's needs.

Someone tried to break into our pod. The PODS-provided lock was too heavy duty for them (good), but now cannot be opened (bad). It will take a locksmith to remove it so we can access the contents. This will cost $200-300. Pods will not reimburse us for this expense. If they don't have the means to remove the lock themselves, then their insurance should cover this condition.

Prior to booking two 16 foot PODS leading up to a move, I called and spoke to a customer service rep who answered questions I had regarding delivery/redelivery. I very specifically asked how the delivery worked and I was told that they deliver on all days except Sundays and that all they need is a 3 day advance notice. While waiting for my new home to be built we had the pods stored at the PODS storage facility.
Fast forward to present day when I called to schedule my re-delivery of the PODS with all my stuff in them. It was at this time that I was told the PODS facility my PODS were being stored at do not deliver on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. Not only was this information I wasn't given at the time of booking, but I was actually told the opposite - any day except Sunday is open for delivery. I tried to escalate the issue during my call and was told that I would be given an incident number and followed up with but that "it takes time."
Customer service with this company is absolutely deplorable and had I been given the information I have now, I would have never been in this position as I wouldn't have used a company who can only deliver my PODS during the week. Unless someone from PODS escalates this issue and is able to remedy the wrong that they have done, I will be out thousands of dollars due to rearranging of movers and missing work. I called PODS in October and was quoted a price. I told the person I talked to I am price shopping and would get back to her. I checked out different container prices and decided to go with PODS. So I called back with the same information and was quoted a different higher price. The agent told me that I was quoted the wrong price the first time. Since I had just sold my house and needed to get the process moving along, I agreed with the monthly fee and delivery charge of $394.38. AND I had to go online and "accept the charge" to complete the process.
The pod was delivered when scheduled a week before my movers were to come. It was a very rainy month (October) here in Washington. I was taking my garbage cans to the curb one night and noticed piles of white gunk on my driveway around the pod and thought what the heck! The company had put window type caulking on the exterior seams (of a metal container). I promptly looked inside the pod and it was all wet inside.
So I called PODS the next day to replace the pod container as it was Tuesday and I need a DRY NON LEAKY container by Saturday. A new container was delivered and all was good, I thought. I went into my PODS account to have a look and I was charged for a second container $463.72 (a different price!) I spent hours on the phone trying to resolve this issue. First I was told that the charge would be adjusted when the pod was returned, I had to be very persistent and firm that I wanted these charges removed from my credit card as I have to make payments on this card and almost $1000 has been charged to my account in four days!!!
Finally the charges were reversed and credited back to my card. My account showed that I had two containers the entire rental time. (Didn't get that one) I'm thinking okay good, everything going smooth. WRONG!! Now it's time to move the pod, I decided since the first pod was leaky that I didn't want to take a chance of my things getting damp so I opted to have it stored at the facility in Everett. I was quoted a price of $234, but was charged $249.99. Fine $249.99. For the next two months at the facility I'm charged $249.99.
Now I schedule for delivery to my new place. December 28th the driver delivers my container, I'm charged $170. AND about an hour later the same driver calls me back and says he was told to come pick up my container!!! I said, "I didn't schedule for a pickup. I just got it. Please cancel that order!" Nice man, he canceled that pickup.
SO on January 3rd I have a scheduled pickup for the empty container. They didn't come. The office said the driver missed me and they'd come the next day. January 4th my container is picked up. Whew I'm finally done with PODS!!! WRONG. I called PODS to make sure that I was all square with my bill, I'm not showing a second pod etc. The guy I talked to said "Yes I was paid in full, but they forgot to close my account". So he closed my account or said he did. I contacted my bank and put a block my credit card as I just had a funny feeling. Lo and behold I was right. Almost 30 attempts to charge my credit card. My whole account was reworked credits, charges, new higher prices charged and DIFFERENT BILLING DATES!!!
Now after all this I wasn't charged enough. Plus my billing cycle changed from 10/15/16 to 11/14/16, my credit card was charged every month 11/19/16, 12/19/16, container delivery 12/29/16. Picked up was at no charge on Jan. 4, 2017, they forgot to pickup on the 3rd 2017. And a new charge of $249.99 from January 4th thru January 19th, (new billing dated!) with adjustments made so I owe $71.24, plus now a $25 late fee! AND THEY ARE SENDING ME TO COLLECTION!!! PODS is paid in full and if someone would ever call me back, and really review this bill they will see I'm paid in full!!! I really look forward to a resolution, unhappy in Washington.
Lois, I am very sorry to hear about your billing troubles. Please send me a private message with your customer ID so that I can look into this right away.

I scheduled PODS for a long distance move from Minnesota to WA State. With plenty of time I scheduled the container on May 11th. They dropped it off and all was well. I am currently working out of state and took time off to fly home and load my container on the May 22nd. When I opened the container I noticed water inside and was not able to load my items. I called the 855 number and they said that they would contact the local office in Eagan, MN to have the container fixed on site or have it replaced. I explained to them that I was in a time constraint and they said they would get back to me.
No one called me back so I called the afternoon of the 22nd and again no word on when they were going to replace my container. I called back on the morning of the 23rd and the person that helped me said that an email was sent to the local office and they were going to call me and give me an update on the status of the new container. I never got the call.
I made the decision to go to plan B and cancelled their service on the evening of the 22nd and told them that I needed to have their damaged container moved cause it was in my way. They told me the container would be moved on Thursday the 25th. So when the local manager never contacted me I called back and ask to speak to a manager. I was transferred to a manager and he told me he would look into the matter personally and call me back.
To this date I have not heard from him. The container was picked up on the scheduled day and when the driver called me to see if the container was ready I explain to him that the container was empty and that it was defective. He had no idea of the situation. I believe there is a huge disconnect between their local personnel and the people scheduling their service. The situation definitely placed a lot of burden on our move. I will not recommend a company that does not even have the time to call me back and update me on their status.

Everything seemed ok when I signed up over competitors. The reason I went with PODS was because I was told I would get same day pickup, and a call back on the status for that service (called in about a month in advance). Never got a callback or follow up email about same day pickup or questions about humidity storage which were promised. I call back a week later and have to wait another 30min on hold to find they never put any request in and that it would be an additional 75 charge... Stuck in my acceptance with service I requested AGAIN, and bit the bullet... Again no email or phone call about request status, I call back for the 3rd time.
Waiting another 30min on hold... The representative told me they see the request but have received no response and they could still not give me a response, nor do they have any information STILL about what the exact humidity % is at their storage facilities. Online all it says is that the humidity level is CONTROLLED, which is a very very vague statement... It could be controlled but be 20% or 80%... WHAT IS IT? The storage facility doesn't accept public calls, and PODS customer care can't even get a response from them, very unprofessional. It's important for me to know because I have 3K worth of equipment that is very humidity sensitive... and if stored improperly can result in unrepairable damage.
My move is tomorrow and I may be forced to cancel entire move and service with PODS due to their lack of customer service they have provided me. So it's been a month and I still have no answer from them, and keep getting the runaround. Very sad for a well known company, to handle this situation like they are. If things continue for the worst... I will no longer use or recommend PODS to anyone. Very upsetting. I ordered (2) PODS units to be delivered May 26th, and they arrived that day. The local contact called me to let me know he was going to be about an hour late, but he was very personable and great. Today I called the National Support Center to confirm my pick up date of the (2) units on May 31st, and the gal told me they could only pick up (1) unit that day, and it would be June 2nd before they could pick up the 2nd unit. I explained to her, when I ordered the (2) Units, there was no mention via email they wouldn't be able to pick up both Units on the 31st. I explained to her, we sold our home, and the 2nd wasn't an option, as the new owners wouldn't want a PODS Unit in the driveway of their new home.
She stated there was nothing she could do, so I asked to speak to a Supervisor. She then hung up on me, and I called back several times, and the recorded message didn't give me an option to speak to anyone. So the net of it, you order PODS Units to storage your Home-hold possessions, and your only option is to communicate with a National Office, who refuses to solve any issues, and hangs up on you? What the hell are they doing in Business, with this type Customer Service? Don't use PODS, explore other options. The Better Business Bureau should research their Business practices.
Mike, I am very sorry to hear about this. It is my understanding that both containers have now been picked up. Should you have any other issues in the future please don't hesitate to private message for me assistance.

Pod was delivered on 5/25/17. When scheduling the delivery from Nashville to Mason, Ohio I told the PODS rep that the association only allows 48 hours for it to be on the property. Found out the empty pod is to be picked up on June 1. That's 5 days beyond my original request.
Meg, I am sorry to hear about the troubles that you experienced with your pick-up. Up until final delivery, all was well with our move. The representative that helped us from Florida to Nebraska was great. However when it came time for final delivery there was so much inaccurate information that it left me angry and frustrated. Because it was busy season, I could not get my pod delivered when I wanted even though I called within the recommended timeframe and so my delivery was pushed out close to when the next billing cycle for storage would start. I was assured that I would not be charged for storage because it was not my fault but a scheduling problem. Then I was charged additionally so I called back. I was then told that the additional charge would be credited back to me so I waited. Then another charge was placed on my account!
I called yet again to hear a completely different story. That yes there was a credit on the account but that it had gone to the month of storage which was something they had to do but once the pod was picked up I would be refunded. Meanwhile my account gets overdrawn and billing department was all too quick to get me off the phone by transferring me to customer service. The last lady in customer service was as helpful as she could have been given that she was not part of the billing department. Sad to say, I now have a sour taste in my mouth because of this.

When I first contacted PODS, I absolutely needed to move out of my apartment quickly for my ETS transition as I moved from active-duty to the national guard. Due to not wanting to pay another month of rent, I was looking to move quick once I received my DD 214 and PODS was the only feasible option. First warning sign was that they were over double what every other company was quoting me, but because of the time restraint I was facing, PODS was my only option. You will be charged a storage fee, no matter how quickly you plan on moving, not covered by the military. Depending on the unit the prices varies, it was over $300 for mine, and it was the smallest container. Then you'll also be charged for the delivery/pickup of the container which is not covered, which is close to another $400.
So, with all these extra expenses, you would think the customer service would be fantastic? You couldn't be more wrong. After being switched back and forth between different customer services lines anytime you have a question. You'll still be scratching your head looking for an answer, and they seem to have no regard for veteran-specific circumstances. I felt disrespected and disregarded after honorably serving my country for 5 and a half years and continuing to serve. I felt and continue to feel taken advantage of by this company.
Lastly, I get a call today informing me that my container will be coming late and because of this, I have to cancel my Memorial Day plans. Don't worry though, they have Memorial Day weekend off and will not be able to pick up the eye-sore of a container from my house until the following Tuesday. When I talked to the representative about my complaints, he said he would inform customer service, but to no surprise to me, he did not do that at all. When I reached out on my own they were experiencing technical issues and told me to contact back in 45 mins to an hour. On a holiday especially close to the heart of veterans, I feel as if PODS has shown a complete disregard for customer service and providing adequate service to members of the military community. And I repeat, if you are a veteran looking to use this company, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.
Robert, I am very sorry to hear about your troubles. Can you please send me a private message with your customer ID so that I can look into this?
In addition to this, thank you for your service to our country. I am incredibly grateful.

Absolutely horrendous experience so far!!! Would not recommend PODS to anyone and will NEVER use them again. It's supposed to "easier"?!! I was promised that my POD would be delivered to my moving destination on 5/27 and now since we have two PODS (one for essentials going first and one for non essentials for storage going later) and supposedly loaded the "wrong one" even though there is no indication on their terrible website that it made a difference we are now screwed and our POD won't be there until at least 5/30.
This is unacceptable considering an out of state move and a new job. How can you not just change a # in a system? This is especially concerning since we were told by the driver that picked it up today that it wouldn't be an issue AND by a customer service representative a few hours later that we were still set for 5/27... Then we call back to confirm again just to be safe and now the earliest I can get there is 5/30!?? It's going out of state but only 4 hours, absolutely ridiculous.

Used PODS to relocate across country. Called in and the rep offered to give two quotes: one with two large units (I'll call this offer A) and another with one large and a small one (offer B). Rep also told me that I could book ahead and have the large one sent and then I could gauge what size unit I'd need before a set delivery date. Also told me, MANY times, that the entire bill would be paid in three "EASY" installments; essentially a deposit, delivery and pickup billing periods. We decided to go with PODS because it did seem easy AND affordable. We were wrong.
We went offer B because when we called back the original quote and offer were no longer there. No notes on the account either. For our "trouble" we were given a new quote with a 10% discount which STILL didn't make it cheaper than our original quote. We should have backed out at that point but we stuck with them. We've had nothing but issues with this company and their service department (not to mention overdraft fees and stress that comes with having to move money around while on the road). The "three payments" was complete nonsense. We've had nothing short of 13 charges, charge-backs, future payments posted to our online account. It has been a nightmare.
Trying to use a different bank account (such as your spouse's) to make a payment? Well, you'll have to fill out a form and fax it in but make sure you don't do it on the weekend (even though they tell you it's okay if it gets in before 3 pm Eastern on Saturday) because some jerk of a guy will answer the phone and tell you to wait until Monday because "Nobody is even in that department". We even called back to see if we could get a different rep on the phone and the same guy answered, said "I just told you man" and HUNG UP on us.
Best part is they called us back saying they wanted the "final installment" of the "final payment" but when we told them we faxed the form over, THEY DON'T HAVE IT. We LITERALLY send a picture via mobile of the form we faxed. Maybe if you would have done the original three payments (not over 10) there wouldn't be so much confusion. Or maybe have better department communication? Regardless, don't make your customer suffer mentally and financially because your company can't streamline.
All in all we ended up spending a little over $1000 more than we thought we were going to pay originally... but once the process was started we were helpless in arguing because they had everything we owned. I honestly feel that this company gives you a sweet deal via the phone with the promise to "email" you a quote that never hits your inbox. That way, when you call back in your quote is gone, but for your "inconvenience" they'll give you x% off of the new quote which is still more than the first one. I guess the rule of "if it is too good to be true" still stands. Book a U-Haul instead!!
UPDATED ON 05/31/2017: So, this is a SECOND review for PODS because no one at this company cares about their customers. Since my last review the company charged the wrong account TWICE, causing overdrafts and the employee Kira can't do her job, AT ALL. She was supposed to call us last Friday and she didn't. But when she calls on Wednesday, AFTER CHARGING THE WRONG ACCOUNT AGAIN, she says "I found the card authorization form, would you like me to refund the money and charge the right card?" My husband told her NO because we'd already been charged the overdraft fee and that PODS is SO incompetent that he wanted the ordeal to BE OVER.
SERIOUSLY?! It takes you weeks to find an authorization form that you requested to be sent (it was sent on May 6)?! How hard is it to charge the right account, especially after NUMEROUS requests from your CUSTOMER?! Screw PODS. You've REALLY caused us serious stress, MENTALLY and FINANCIALLY. Best part: After I gave the rep who contacted me about my first review our account info (ON MAY 26), I STILL HAVEN'T HAD A REPLY FROM THEM. This is par for the course with this company... they can't manage their time or their commitments. POORLY MANAGED. CUSTOMERS SUFFER.

I moved from WI to WA. The original plans for the move didn't work out and I was desperate looking for an alternative. I called on a Saturday and needed to be out of my apartment by that next Tuesday. Customer service was PHENOMENAL. The person who helped me really helped me. She was able to set me up with a container for that Monday. I gave her the instructions on where to place the pod - right in front of my apartment garage door, facing the door. Since I had not seen the parking situation at the new place (my spouse had done that part of the searching on our new city), she said I could contact them later and offer specific instructions.
Monday came and when I came back from work the container had been delivered and placed... 50 feet away from my apartment! (Sure, this is not a whole lot of distance, but I had requested to have it RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE GARAGE DOOR, which was completely open and clear for them!) The container was placed at the very far side of the public parking lot, and not only that, it was facing AWAY from the driveway, looking toward a little park. I had to maneuver a lot to get the things in. In fact, some of the items I had to haul on my car to the container.
Things didn't end there. The container was to be delivered on May 18th. I received the automated call and the email letting me know of the expected delivery time. We hired some help, and my spouse took a day off from work (and he works in restaurants, thus getting paid by days worked). We were expecting the delivery to happen between 7am-10am as they said. By 11am, nothing had been delivered but the website said that the container was at "customer location." I called customer service and again, received absolutely wonderful attention. The person who talked with me was able to track the container and said that it should be delivered by the end of the day. Our hired help left as they had already spent enough time waiting. By 4pm I had not received a call from the driver, so I call customer service again.
This time, the person who spoke with me tried to locate the manager of the local site and learned that the office was already closed... by 4pm on a weekday. So, he was able to track him on his cellphone. The manager said that the container had arrived around 11am to the location and by that time there were no drivers able to take it to the location. I had reserved space in the parking lot for one day (remember, I had help that was going to help unload). The manager said they would deliver the next day. Nobody called me. Nobody called PODS. I received no notification, and had it not been for me calling them, I wouldn't have known what happened to my container! The customer service representative apologized but was not able to offer any other help.
The next day, I get a call early in the morning from the driver. He arrived and I was certain to be present for this as I wanted to make sure I gave them instructions on how to place the container, facing away from the driveway and looking toward a walkway that is easily accessible. Since this location had to be a little far from the apartment, I wanted to be prepared to make it as easy as possible since this time we had no hired help to do this. Well, the driver refused to place the container as I was requesting because "it would take an additional 30 minutes to do that" and because the instructions said to face the container the other way (remember, I was told I could arrange with the driver later to work on the positioning of the container...).
I told him I was already frustrated with the whole experience, and that at this moment I had no desire to continue arguing with the company. He said he would place the container sideways, blocking two parking spaces and that I should arrange with management to let them know. I told him to do as he saw fit, I had no more energy to continue this conversation, thank him, and walked away. (Thankfully, when I went back to the container, he had placed it as I had requested! He wasn't at this location more than 15 minutes total!) Then, when I opened the container, I found that four bookcases were absolutely, completely destroyed. Two of them I didn't care much for, another one was a great one, solid wood, and beautiful, but I wasn't attached to it, so it is replaceable. But the one that hurt me the most was a hand-made, solid wood, antique bookcase that was absolutely destroyed! This one I even kept in the hopes I can find someone to fix it.
My spouse took a second day off, I had to take a half-day off from my NEW job, and we called a friend to help as well, so we could empty the container as soon as possible since we were already taking longer than we had arranged with management to use the public parking lot. When I think that the nightmare is finished, I called to arrange for a pickup for the next day and they tell me that the closest they have is a week from the time they delivered it!!!! A week!!! I have moved many times; both long distance and short distance. I always did it myself, hiring a moving truck and help to load and unload. I thought I was saving some energy by hiring this company and what I found instead was an absolute nightmare.
I had contacted them via phone and they also contacted me via Twitter when I complained to them there. After telling them on the phone and also sending them a private message via Twitter (they requested that I sent them details of the complaint to work on it), I am still waiting for them to offer me a resolution. This has definitely been the WORST moving experience I've ever had. I would never recommend this company to anyone. It was expensive and the service was completely incompetent.

We had a long distance move from Georgia to New York. Rather than driving a truck this time we decided to use Pods. We knew it would be about 3X more expensive than driving our own truck but the company was paying so let's try it. The main issue with pods that I have is everything is on their schedule. They are the equivalent of the cable company. You get to chose the day but that's it. They give you a three hour window but even that isn't guaranteed.
The three hour window isn't even identified until after 5:00 pm the day before. So you plan on taking the day off to unload and then you find out that they might be coming between 1:00 and 4:00! You can't even request a morning or afternoon drop off. You are totally at their mercy. Even the cable company gives you that option. For over $3000 to move my stuff, it should at least be on my schedule. Never again PODS! I know you could care less but I still will make sure everyone I know will be aware of how bad you are.
Jaimie, I am very sorry to hear about your scheduling troubles. I apologize for any confusion that may have occurred regarding our delivery policies. Please feel free to send me a private message with your customer ID if there is anything that I can do to assist you.

I have never had a worse customer service experience in my life. I ordered a POD to be delivered in late April. I filled up the POD with all of my furniture, and then it was picked up and brought to their warehouse the following day. The POD was scheduled to be returned to me tomorrow, May 19th, when my new construction home was completed.
A few days ago I checked the PODS website to confirm that the delivery was still scheduled for May 19th. My order had disappeared from their website. I called PODS to try to see why it wasn't showing up, and apparently my order was deleted from their system. I have spent a total of 4-5 hours on the phone (most of that time being spent on hold and bounced from person to person) trying to locate my POD and confirm that it will be delivered to me tomorrow. They still have not been able to tell me with certainty that they have my belongings. They have not been able to verify my POD number because all information about my order was deleted.
Every time I call, I get a new person who I have to explain the entire story to, and each person acts dumbfounded and cannot understand why or how this has happened. I am moving into my new home tomorrow and I have no idea if my POD will be delivered to me or not, or if they have even located it yet. I spoke to a "supervisor" yesterday, who assured me he would take care of it and call me back in the morning, yet I have not heard anything from him. He is the third person at PODS who told me they would look into my issue and get back to me, and who has not followed through or called me back. I am frustrated beyond belief. I would hope that PODS will compensate me somehow for the countless hours I spent during my work days trying to fix their mistake, and I don't even know what action I will have to take if my furniture is not delivered back to me and/or found.

It's a debit card linked to my bank account. I have offered to have it directly taken out of my bank, PayPal, Venmo, and a credit card. Nope. After being late because they didn't charge my card, they continually lock me out of my acct, and I have to play phone tag with ONE person who can take my payment manually.
Apparently Austin, TX is not managed by PODS corporate, they are some other entity & they never answer the phone or call me back. Now I'm 3 months behind & they are threatening to auction off my belongings!!! I called corporate PODS & told them what was going on & they took 3 separate payments over the phone to get me paid up. (This was after they attempted to get ahold of the billing person and manager who are in charge with my area & was unable to reach anyone.) So I thought I was caught up for now. Nope! Today I got an email saying they were not able to process my payments. So I will be calling again tomorrow to see what their problem is this time. I can't help but think that their business plan is to not accept payments so that they can make more money auctioning off people's belongings!!! BEWARE of PODS!!! (At least in TEXAS.)

PODS is our only option for storage in the area. We booked for a 12 foot container online and it was pretty easy, but we could've used a bigger size. The driver that picked up our pod was really great, very polite and professional. Checked to make sure there wasn't a problem. Even though we returned our pod and had it picked up on the last day in order not to be charged for another month, they still charged us for the month. It took us a few phone calls to get an answer. So it wasn't necessarily handled extremely well, but it ended up working out in the end. They had to credit it back. But there should be a way to get in touch with the local PODS as opposed to having to call the call center for everything. But it's a useful service.

There is a big problem in the lack of continuity of accurate information known by the agents. This led to misinformation being offered and often confusion that required a lot of effort and time to resolve in every step of the process using PODS. Though most of the agents apologized, were accountable for their missing gaps of information, and pursued finding accurate information, there were a couple who got defensive and rude. You have to keep lots of notes and diligently, repeatedly reconfirm every step of the way and this added another unexpected level of stress to the move.
There are definitely not enough tie-down options in the "older" PODS units. I had requested a newer one that has more tie-down spots but did not get it upon delivery. I am concerned about how my things are going to arrive because of not having a newer PODS unit. This is an incomplete review as I am waiting for the PODS to be delivered tomorrow.

In April I had a large expense so I didn't make the payment on the date I normally do, so PODS without any notice or authorization because they had my debit card number made the debit for me. It overdrew my account and made a huge mess with other transactions.
It took 2 full days on the phone with PODS and the bank to get it straightened out. PODS would not call the bank for an immediate refund, they did issue a refund through the system so it took a full week to post. Then the bank had to remove all the overdraft charges. I finally got the mess straightened out. Tonight I went online to pay PODS and I have been locked out of my online account so I cannot pay online. The last thing I want to do is spend two more full days on hold and talking to these PODS representatives. I just want my online account reactivated so I can pay online. This is the first time I have used a moving company. I booked with PODS over the phone and rented two 16-feet containers that they be picked up and dropped-off. The driver called and he was very polite and courteous and he let me know what time they would be here. They dropped-off the container, picked it up on time and everything was fine. When the containers were empty, they were clean and when they came back with my goods, there was one little issue. As they were moving one of the top stuff and they laid on the door while they're talking, the box fell down and something broke. But, that was maybe from my packing the stuff, something was moved.
The interaction with the rep was good but my only thing here was some misunderstanding in communication. I wouldn't say it was from their side alone. I may take it for granted that's what they explained to me. When you do the booking, the pickup, the delivery, whatever it is, it was one across only. The first thing they quote was the price and I understand there was an additional. When I have to pay that additional it was outside of what I budgeted for when I spoke to them at first. The difference of the pick-up and delivery that I have to pay was a little high.
Overall, I was satisfied with the service that I received. I was able to get my stuff on time. I'm able to work around it. It was convenient for me to load and unload and it never put me into the strain of, "I have to rush to get this off." So, that was my biggest concern, to make sure that I could work around my time. I went back to work. If I have to move again, I would tell them and I would get in touch with them. If somebody asks me, I would recommend PODS.

I needed a moving service and went with PODS based on the good feedback about them like having reasonable price. I didn’t also want to get in trouble about any shipping. I can pack the stuff myself as well. I then booked with them and at first, I did it online and everything was okay. But I had to call them a couple of times because the date that they gave me and the date that I had my moving kept switching. I had to back out and they said it was fine and it wasn't a commitment. I told them that I would come back and call them. The lady I talked to first said that it was easier to call them because sometimes, the quote would be better. Then they gave me better dates too. But booking with them either through online or calling them was fine. But I like to talk to somebody, so it helped out that I called them back.
In Hawaii, they only had two sizes. We got the 7-foot container based on my husband’s estimate and we utilized every inch of it. The guy who came to pick it up assured me that everything's fine and indeed, everything went well and my things came as it left. It was awesome and I would use PODS again if I ever needed them. I would recommend them.

I was trying to figure out how to extract myself from a transitional move in another city where my possessions were in storage with a national carrier and then making a quick job change that created some challenges about moving out of the agreement with the first employer and into the next one because some of the cost have been covered and then have to be reimbursed. I needed to find and explore some flexibilities about what would work best. I did a lot of internet research and PODS came up quickly and I started to line up national mover quotes with what it would look like with PODS and getting assistance with local movers on either end. I ultimately decided from my unique circumstances that using the PODS made more sense and would be a little less expensive.
I ended up moving five PODS worth of home goods and storing them for about three months and then moving into our home when we got settled. We had five of the 16-foot containers. We had too much stuff and I had to add an extra container. We sized accordingly and PODS was pretty good about changing schedules on delivery and pick-up at the last minute because we had some unusual coordination. We had to deal with the local storage company, moving company in Pittsburgh in getting them to let PODS come on their property and a lot of negotiations about liability and who could do what but PODS was flexible with working with the moving organization to meet their needs. Not every company would do that so that was good.
I used the phone a lot to make sure that they understood and it was going to be happening the way that I wanted it. I did some things online, a lot of things by phone with recheck online but I always like to make a phone call to make sure of a change. The PODS representatives were all very positive. Sometimes, getting in touch with the agent who was most involved with my case was a little challenging because the PODS team was on the West Coast and I’m on the East Coast so we had a big time difference that wasn’t as convenient. I had to wait in getting a call back but these were not emergency calls either. We were able to resolve things each time as they knew what they were doing.
The drivers were a colorful group and they made sure they had the right directions and kept in touch. They did their job properly and were very efficient in moving these things around and not damaging trees or property. They knew how to do that. We paid professional movers on the front end in Pittsburgh to make sure they pack the containers very tight so things weren’t moving around and that’s how it worked out.

I got the largest pod that they had which was 16-foot although it would have been better if they had another four foot bigger because after I filled it, I still had to get a small U-Haul to haul what was left. But everything seemed fine. Our things were still good when we unloaded it and everything went great.

We had a storage container from PODS that was delivered from Louisiana to Washington, D.C. I wanted to go with Two Men and A Truck, but they were too expensive, and then U-Haul was not conducive for my situation. I booked with PODS over the phone and online. It started off good, but unfortunately ended poorly. We were going to have the smallest pod, but they encouraged my mother to get a larger one and she was convinced. We got a larger size and things were kind of looking okay. Then, I got a lock for the pod in Louisiana.
The thing that started to be a challenge was when I locked the pod, it was not locked accurately. So unfortunately, they gave me an ultimatum of either driving about an hour and a half back to their location to unlock it with my key, but I was already getting on the plane, or they were going to have to manually cut it off and put a new lock on. No harm, no foul. I told them to cut it off and put a new lock on, but I really needed them to send the key to me with the specific tracking number to it, so I can ensure that I would have the key when the pod arrives in Washington, D.C. I had a very small window of putting the pod on the street with permit. If I wasn't going to be receiving the key, I was going to have to buy vault cutters of my own, unlock the lock that they put on, and buy another thing.
Unfortunately, they did not send me a tracking number and I had to buy vault cutters. It was a very difficult situation for all parties involved and my mother was not happy about it. Although everything did come in safely and I got all of my stuff out, there was the issue of poor communication from the Louisiana office to the Maryland office saying that the key was coming, and if the key wasn't going to come, they were going to be able to cut the lock off themselves. However, they did not have vault cutters. They may be saying that it's in the notes, but I was talking to them at least four times a day for a week's time and it still wasn't resolved. My mother paid for the whole thing and she is not happy in the slightest. The pod was the best thing for me to do, but overall, it was a taxing and frustrating experience.
Blandon, I apologize for the troubles that you and your Mother had with the lock. Please send me a private message if thee is anything that I can do to further assist you.

PODS moved my household goods from Houston to Colorado and they stored it for three or four months before I was ready for it. I went with them for the price and convenience. I booked online. The Houston office was amazing and they saved the day so I deeply appreciate them. I had some people who didn't do a good job of packing the pod and I ended up having to need a second one and it was on a Saturday. I called the local Houston office and they found me one and got me one out there so that they could load the second one. The drivers were also outstanding.
However, PODS didn't deliver in Colorado. I live up in a mountain town and they weren't sure they could get it up the mountain so I picked it up at the facility. While I understand they were going through management changes, they were supposed to send somebody up to check to see if they could deliver and they never did. I ended up hiring movers to drive to Longmont, where their storage facility was, to pick up the pod there. It worked out fine but I felt they dropped the ball in the Longmont facility.

I chose PODS over other storage companies because of my familiarity with them from seeing them around. I had a medium-sized pod dropped to my house and stored on location for a month or so. The whole end to end experience was better than expected. The people I spoke with on the phone were very friendly and helpful. Also, I met the driver during drop off and talked to him as he was maneuvering the pod into position. I understood what he was doing and we had nice a little exchange to make sure everything was at the best position possible. The driver was courteous, very skilled at what he was doing, and I appreciated the calls along the way.

Everything went perfect and extremely smooth with PODS. We were having new flooring done at the house, so we had to move the furniture out and put it in a pod and move it back in. I booked PODS’ services over the phone. I did not have a problem with their reps. They were here when they said they’d be here and the pod was picked up when they said they were going to pick it up. We got the big pod because it was the size that I needed. It was clean and wasn’t beat up. Its appearance was excellent. The driver who dropped off the pod put it where he suggested it. He asked where we wanted it. I told him and he explained to me that that wasn’t a good position to put it and I agreed. We were very, very satisfied with PODS. Completely, 100% painless.

March 27, 2017 our renters had PODS coming to pick up their moving POD. When dropping off the POD the renter had to warn them of the overhead power lines (which you would think they would have acknowledged on their own). We are a farm and have power lines that belong to us that power our water for the houses and the barn. In the process of pick up the container POD's driver torn down 2 of our 3 power lines to our pump house. I had to leave while he was over at the house, so was not here when he removed it. Returning, in the afternoon I found we had NO WATER. Located the problem and began trying to get a hold of someone from POD. Very frustrating, you can only seem to talk to people in Florida that do not listen to anything you say.
Long story short. We repaired the over 1000 feet of lines in the pouring down rain so we could once again have water for ourselves and all the animals in the barn. POD would not send anyone out to even look at what their driver had done. They said he denied doing it, even though before pulling out on to the road he had to pull the wire off to the side of the driveway and piled it. Very lucky that one had broke completely from the power source, otherwise he would have been electrocuted, beings the power was still HOT. We have sent POD's a video, pictures, and quote from a electrical company. THEY Refuse to pay for the damages and still deny the damage their driver caused. WOULD NOT SUGGEST THIS COMPANY. They are also rude. Will be filing suit in small claims. We only asked for half of what the electrical company quoted. UGH.

If you're planning on making a big move (across the country) I wouldn't recommend this company. I'm convinced this company is designed to keep as many people as possible indebted to them. I want to think me and my husband's naivety are to blame – thinking pods was the cheapest way to go. But boy were we wrong! 8 months later, and we're still paying just to keep our belongings stored in a site that's in a completely different state. This is because we can't cough up $3600 up front. Pods does not offer a monthly payment plan. Their rates fluctuate and we are essentially re-buying everything we own, over and over. They wouldn't even accept half of the cost upfront, and pay the rest after the transport. On top of that we're paying a credit card just to keep the aforementioned machine going. No words can describe how awful it is to have everything, and still have none it to show for. It seems greed always wins.

I booked over the phone and the rep and I had very straightforward interactions. It was easy and he was able to answer the questions very quickly. The container was clean. The drop-off was good but the pick-up wasn't as neat. It was snowy and flashy that day in Calgary and some branches on one of our trees were knocked off because the driver slid in towards the curb. He kept trying to go up the hill rather than back up down. My brother and I guided him out once we saw he was stuck. Overall, it was a really good experience. It was really helpful to be able to put my things into storage and then leave it. I knew it was safe somewhere and I could go and grab what I needed to if I needed it. I would recommend PODS to a friend if they're moving.

We recently rented a PODS container for a move and were promised that PODS could store the container off-site and deliver to our new house when we were ready. We are finally ready for our move and PODS says their container can not be on the streets of Minneapolis without a permit. We offer to get the permit and the customer service employee says they still can't put on the street because the city workers are rogue and will tow it away even if we have a permit. So the solution they come up with is we need to rent a U-Haul truck and pick up our things from the storage facility. When we rented the PODS no one informed us of this rule. I AM LIVID. I am now forced to incur extra cost because you failed on your end to be transparent as an organization and I picked PODS because of the ease of moving they claim to offer, and you have failed miserably. I was told that it was rescheduled and the new delivery time would be 3:15-6:15 but no one had bothered to notify me! At 6:20pm there still was no PODS. At 8:00am there still was no PODS! My moving people who had showed up to load the PODS arrived and there still was no POD. Customer service couldn't provide any answers because they do not have any authority to make decision or change orders.
To add insult to injury, after I had made my complaint regarding the lack of a PODS customer service apparently contacted the company in my area that was supposed to have delivered the PODS, they left me a message saying they tried to deliver and called me several times. Interesting that during the delivery times I was scheduled for, someone was available and the number I had left them is an emergency number so they could have reached someone 24/7. I suspect no call was ever made. So disappointing! I contacted PODS because of their name and the ease of ordering online - WHAT A MISTAKE!!!! Not reliable.

After I booked over the phone, several guys picked up and dropped off the containers. We moved my apartment first and then we had to move it to my studio. Everybody has been great, very professional and helpful. However, the only thing I found a bit odd was when I asked for a hard copy of the compilation of expenses, I did the math but I still didn't see any actual printout of what my final bill with everything included was. Also, there was a brief delay but it was weather induced. I got here in early February and I was coming from the North. So, that time there was some snow North of me. I didn't want anybody risking everything that I owned just to get it there, so I'd rather them to take their time and get it here in one piece. Overall I had a good experience with PODS.

The packers and loaders that they recommended were good but I found that the bosses called every half hour checking on them which is distracting. They were like stalking them and at one point I asked them to stop and said that the guys were on the clock and if they would stop calling them they could finish what they were doing. The guy that dropped the container off was very nice. I was worried because it was new construction but he put cardboard down and he was good. I was happy with the experience.

I needed a container for me to pack, to store and transport to the location where I needed it. I used PODS before and have had good success with it. Also, a friend had used them and recommended them. They did exactly what I needed. They put the pod where it was supposed to go and it stayed as long as it was supposed to stay. Then they took it where it's supposed to be. They came and picked it up when I called them. So they did everything they were supposed to do.
If they were able to provide actual human beings to assist with the move, I would never have gone with the other company that I ended up having to go with for getting furniture moved. I used the pod for all of the boxes that I packed and I have hoped they would be helping me get that out of the pod. I had furniture to be loaded into the furniture truck then unloaded here, and my husband was in one location while I was in the other, and neither one of us were in the position where we wanted to hurt our backs by lifting up sets. My only recommendation is for them to have more availability of someone to assist.
Overall, PODS is a great company to work with. They provided what I needed when I needed it and were easy to deal with. They're also on time and they met their commitments, which is more than I can say for the other moving company that I ended up having to use. I have no complaints with PODS and I would, in a minute, recommend them to someone else as long as he either has somebody that could help him or didn't need assistance.

I would have been happier to have a smaller one.
During the pick-up, my neighbors in Arizona all came out, watched, and were impressed. It was quite an interesting procedure to take the pod off and put it onto the driveway. The drive here was initially going to back the truck onto our driveway when he delivered it and I said that I was surprised that the other one had done it differently, and then he did it the way the first guy did it. Both experiences went well. They delivered and picked up the pod exactly when they said they were going to do it during both times. Many of my neighbors in both places asked questions about PODS and I had nothing negative to say. Also, I have a cousin who owns a North American company and was concerned about a damage. Company representative misrepresented product and its capability to me. I was told 2 containers could fit side by side on any 2 car driveway. That is far from the truth. I had movers scheduled to load them. PODS could only bring one at a time and the time delay between them picking up and redelivering was going to be anywhere from 3-6 hours that I would have movers standing and waiting. I canceled the entire order. Was told all my money (over 2000.00) would be refunded and any future orders would be canceled. That never happened. The one pod they had delivered was picked up some time that day. Then I kept getting robo calls to confirm deliver on one and another pick up of one and insurance coverage for all of them.
I kept tell them, "It's canceled. There are no pods here." Have tried to talk to my "claims representative" who is never available, never returned a call or email. I am told this is the only person that can help me and by the way she has no supervisor. When I called last I was ask if I was calling to pay my balance... what balance? You owe me $2504.91. Again told only one person could talk to me and she is not available. "She is very busy and will get to you when she can." I am now thinking I am going to have to get an attorney.

I don’t think PODS had the chance to look at it or maybe the people who used it before me didn’t say anything about it. I had to hit it with a hammer to open and close it.
We only needed it for about a week but if we needed it for an extra month, we could have it. The driver that picked it up was the same driver that dropped it off. I was amazed at how it was put into the driveway and how it came on that little wagon because I thought they had to back it up and drop it off with a forklift. I told everybody about PODS because the process was so easy. I called them, they dropped it off, put it exactly where I wanted it and when I needed it picked up, they came and picked it up. I graduated school at the end of December. Was interviewing in a few different places. Using POD storage unit until I knew where I was going seemed like the perfect solution. And it was, until I tried to get my stuff back. Then they became the most unhelpful, poorly trained people I have ever dealt with. After signing my lease for apartment, POD was the first call I made to set up a time delivery time. Over the first week, I talked to many different customer service agents who all gave me different instructions on what I need to set up a delivery (not the mention a quote to drop-off/pick-up months rent and delivery when I was clear they already had my stuff and I just needed a finale delivery quote).
The calls went something like this: That first weekend: "Pull your customer # and call back." (This one seemed pretty standard I called back in a few mins.) "No now we need the last 4 digits of the credit card #." (OK fine, but why couldn't the first person tell me that?) By The End of the week: "Oh yes, we can see that this is your account, but we have it set for a local delivery not a long distance. You are going to need to start over with a different department." (WHAT?!! I've been telling everyone what I need done. No one said it was the wrong department and at no point was this a local move.)
New Department - "Yes, we have your account and that delivery date available. But, I'm sorry; you're not the contact name we have. Can you get [My Mom's name] to set this up for you?" (Again, I identified myself by my name on every other phone call. Where was that bit of instruction???) My Mom calls the next day, and they can no longer deliver my POD on the requested date because it was a long distance move and it will take another 2 weeks notice. We schedule it as to not lose the opportunity, but are still looking for a quicker/cheaper way and are told that it can be cancelled up to a couple days before.
I start getting phone call, repeatedly, about an unsigned document on their website. But the unsigned document has not been uploaded to my account. When I call to explain this, I am told the agreement is signed!! This is wrong for two very important reasons: 1) I haven't signed it. In fact, I am on the website as I call back. Still not even uploaded. 2) If it is signed, why are you robo-calling me?
Last night, I call to cancel the delivery because I have still a few days to do so, and I have plans to be in the original city (Jackson) in about 2 weeks anyway. It seems cheaper to just pick up my stuff while I'm there and driving back here (Atlanta). I have already paid to replace a lot of my belongings since I got my apartment about 2 weeks ago and need to live in it. I call to cancel, and he ask when I want to delivery set to? I explain that I don't because I will be visiting Jackson in two weeks and plan on getting my stuff myself. He confirms the cancellation and then again asks about rescheduling, and again I explain that I will pick it up myself. Then I ask him about accessing my POD when I get into Jackson. Turns out my stuff has been sitting at a POD storage unit in Atlanta for over a week!
So: The delivery issue wasn't long distance because it was here before the first request delivery date. Just not here at my apartment. I might not have been able to move my furniture myself but you're telling me I just restocked my kitchen while all my old stuff was 30 miles away? Shouldn't I be getting some kind of tracking updates? I guess I can't cancel a few days before because I have already acquired part of the moving fee. Again, that would have been good info upfront. Why in the world was I not told the POD had been moved BEFORE delivery was canceled? I told him I was picking my stuff up from Jackson. I clearly didn't know that it wasn't in Jackson, but he did and canceled my delivery before disclosing that (like WTF).
I say, "Never mind, if it is in Atlanta, go ahead and deliver it this weekend as scheduled." At which point the guy says, "I'm sorry that delivery date is no long available, how about (insert date that is past my monthly rental deadline and will cause another months rent)?" I don't mind paying another months instead of the delivery, but now I am being charge both? Even though I called and cancelled before the set delivery, like I was told I could do?
Now let's talk abut some training issues that would have made this all go better: The first person should have been clear; what department I needed, what information I needed, and who should call. I could have been given updates when my stuff was transferred so that I knew it was here, and at what point I was being charge for that. The guy I talked to last night should have told me that my stuff has already been moved before cancelling! He knew I thought I could get it from the original location.

We've used PODS five times, and with them, it's much easier to move if you're not positive when you're going to need your goods at the other end. With a moving truck, you have to be positive or let them damage your stuff. First of all, they pick it up with a small van, take it to another place, unload it, reload it to a bigger one, bring it to the new place, and if you don't need it, unload it to storage. Then reload it back on the truck to bring, which is just a pain. But working with the reps at PODS, everything was perfect, as usual.
And they’ve already fixed the quality of the pod. I used to have to put my own anchors on those 2 x 4 in order to strap things down. But this time, I had one of the brand new ones which had all types of D-ring connectors that you could strap to all up and down. It's perfect, and the sides were smooth. You could just slide real easily up and down without damaging. In the old days, I would have said, "Yeah, you gotta get some better way to anchor things." But this one was perfect.

I went with them because their pod could be dropped at my front door and I wouldn't have to load up a truck. But it didn't work out that way for me since my driveway was too steep for them to put the pod on it. I still had to load a truck and they'd take it from my parent's house to my new house. But truly the cost of the truck, of moving the pod to there, it all washed out to be about the same amount of money anyway. It was just a little bit more work.
But it was super easy to book online. I got the biggest container and it was perfect and clean. My mom was there when the drivers dropped it off and she said they were super nice. And they were able to drop off the container at her house exactly where we wanted it. The customer service reps were also really nice when I talked to them. They answered any question I ever had, really pleasant and always really quick to answer the phone. It was extremely convenient. So I definitely recommend PODS. After 3 hours on the phone they finally agreed to pick up the POD. Instead of issuing a refund, PODS claims they never charged me and will not refund the $1,121 charge on my credit card. Even more disturbing, the billing rep told me my credit card was associated with another user but could not explain why or how. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I would never use or recommend this company. Have filed dispute with VISA and contacted the WA AG office.

I used PODS to store some of my furniture and household items in the pods container when I was trying to sell my house and move. Their reps have been good and were very timely. And when I figured out I could do things online, I started doing whatever I wanted that way. If I want to change some schedule, I could do it online. We put everything in the 12-foot rectangular container and then we stored it at their facility in Manassas. Everything I need to put in there, fit in very well. It was neat and clean, nothing was messy. Then when I moved, I got my pod back and they delivered it to me.
After I took everything out, they picked up the pod. One of my driveways was hard to get into, but their drivers have been very patient and careful with everything they did and they were nice to talk to. They were informative and able to answer my questions. I have never used a storage pod or a container of any kind before. This was my first experience, but it was a good one and I have no regrets. So, if I need to, I would definitely use them again.

I need to make sure things are what I want. The representatives on the phone were super helpful and so was everybody that I spoke with at PODS. I was really impressed with them.
We did a moving pod and then did storage for three months and then delivery of our pods. The containers were good and were exactly what we were looking for. My first impression was they were smaller than I had anticipated and that's why we had to get a second one. But it worked out because they fit perfectly in the parking lot that we needed to fit them in. The drivers did their job when they got there and left. But they were willing to accommodate requests that we had, as far as where to place the pod. They communicated before they got there. They kept me involved throughout that whole process. I was really happy with the service that PODS provided. They're doing a good job.

I was at work and have cameras around my house. He was on the phone and I was watching him on the camera. He repositioned the pod for me so that I can park my car. He asked if the position was enough and moved it when I asked if he can. I also asked him to move it a little bit more and he did. PODS provides good service very consistently.

I didn't want to use a truck so when I moved, I chose to use PODS. I wanted the convenience of it and the controlled environment that my possessions were stored in. I booked the pods online and the website was very user-friendly. I got the 12-foot and 16-foot containers. One is brand new and the other one was an older model, but it was very clean when I got it and it left the same way. They delivered the pods to my former address, stored all my possessions for nine months, and then they delivered them to my new address.
The interactions I had with the drivers were very nice. The driver who picked up the container talked to me and said that he had been a mover for 30 years, that PODS was the best company he'd ever worked for, and he even told me they were looking for drivers. Then when they delivered, I had a different driver. Also, their customer service reps emailed me to see if there was anything else I needed and to ask how I felt I was treated. The whole process was amazing to me. It was easy and very professional. That's why I've recommended PODS to other people and I would definitely use them again.

I rented the smallest container from PODS, and moved my stuff from Washington State to California. Using PODS seemed to be cheaper since I can't drive a U-Haul myself. That would be a tedious thing to do. The person that I dealt with was helpful, and gave me the quotes. But I could have rented a larger container if he told me because I thought I would only need the smallest one, and had to leave out some things and went back in summer to do a U-Haul. But then when I looked at the bill and how they divided the cost, most of the charges are on the moving rather than the container itself.
I had a problem with PODS dropping it off, because the description was not correct. They told me all I have to do is leave a space about 15 feet for the thing to come in, and I told them I would like to pick it up from the back alley. They didn’t say anything. Then the guy came and he seemed shocked in seeing that I would be putting it in an alley. We cleaned out everything in the driveway more than what they asked for, but the guy refused to do it. He said it's impossible. That was frantic for me then because I had people coming in to move so I wasn't very happy.
When I saw the guy dropping the container off in California, he was able to walk the whole thing over to the spot. He parked across the street and walked it over. The thing can move. I was very happy with this guy. He was very helpful and made sure I can open the container before he left, which may not be his responsibility. But the guys in Spokane, Washington just wanted to drop it off at the spot. They didn't want to walk it to make it better. They just put it in a slanted way, and wasn't very kind either, so I wasn't very appreciative of the people in Spokane. The guy said he could do it in the street so I had to find out how to get the permit with the city, adding another $100 or more to the charge. And then we had to clean out the small bank that was on the street in about a couple of hours. I had some friends come in right away and we tried to get through it ourselves rather than hiring somebody to do it. That incident was not very satisfactory.

I really could have used the medium-sized but they don't do it coast to coast and I couldn't possibly fill the large container and that would have been a waste of money as far as I'm concern. We needed PODS for storage and they have the convenience of having the storage unit at our house. We booked online and we had two of the largest ones. One of them was clean and the other one was not. Also, we got two different pricing which I thought was strange. It had to do with a promotion that we had one month so we got one pod much cheaper than the other one. But if they could have a more consistent pricing, I think that would be something nicer.
The website was very difficult because it had two conflicting entries and that caused us to be charged by the delivery people. They had to come back and re-arrange the way the pod was in our driveway and we got charged the fee for it. My husband called multiple times and he was told we'd be reimbursed. That was back in November but they still have yet to reimburse us for that fee and we're still waiting. Their follow-through is not very good. Also, there were billing issues because we got double-billed one month. We had to call and have that taken care of. But otherwise, it was convenient.

Was moving a couple towns over so thought it would be a good idea to used PODS. We needed 2 PODS for our belongings so we asked to have one delivered right away and one to be delivered a month later. They delivered the 2nd POD 2 weeks early. Then we called 3 times to confirm that they would be delivering the PODS to our new home on the day we closed as we had a moving company meeting us there to help unload the PODS. Every time we called they confirmed they would be there on that Friday. That Friday comes and we have not received a call on time of delivery. My wife calls and they say we are not scheduled even though the previous week we had talked to 3 different people that confirmed we were scheduled. I was able to get the moving company to unload the PODS at my old house and bring it to my new house which ended up costing me an additional $600 I was not expecting to pay.
Now PODS is attempting to charge me an additional month for the PODS and pretty much have ignored my complaint with their service. Keep getting the same runaround that they will talk to the warehouse people and then don't hear back from them until they tell me our account is going to collections. Would give them 0 stars, but not allowed to. I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!

I had a really good moving and storage experience with PODS. No problems. They brought the container when they said they were going to bring it. They picked it up and stored it. When it got here, there was no damage. My wife booked PODS over the phone. She was extremely pleased with everything that she did. She called and the rep answered all her questions. Any time she wanted to know something, she called. She had one particular representative whom she was extremely pleased.
We requested a big container, 16-foot. Our stuff fit inside adequately. It was also nice and clean. The only thing that I have to complain about is when you put your things in and you want to tie it off, there's nowhere to tie it off. The things on the wall are embedded. So, you have to get a rope and you have to thread the rope through that thing and it's kind of hard. But it's not overwhelming or anything like that. It's just that it would be nice if they had some hooks. Their drivers were also extremely nice. The fellow that brought the container in, put it right where I wanted it. And it was a little bit difficult, he had to wiggle quite a bit to get it where I wanted. But he put it right where I wanted it and told me, "When you call to get it picked up, make sure you mention my name and I'll be the one that comes out and gets it, because I know how I did this." And that's what happened. Everything was done just like they said. It went just like as advertised.

We had PODS bring out a PODS unit ahead of time, about two weeks before we actually moved. Then they picked up the PODS and moved it to Illinois from North Carolina. We had also looked at other storage and/or moving companies such as iPack, PackRat, U-Haul, and U-Pack. They're basically very similar. But what happened was, we got a lower price with PackRat. We really didn't want to budge on the pricing because I had a strong quote from PackRat, U-Pack, and another company. We had a wardrobe that was probably too big, although in a little hindsight it probably would have fit because we laid it down anyway. I told PODS, "I have a little less expensive quote," so I expressed my concern. But PODS said, "Well, this is the price and that's just the way it is." The pricing was not in the budget as I would have liked it.
But when we talked to the PODS folks, they said, "PackRat won't be able to turn the PODS and get in your driveway." But as it turned out, they weren't able to do that either. My goal was to have both PODS units in the driveway, so these would be out of the road. They said, "Our machine that get the things into the driveway could turn the PODS." It comes downhill and they could turn the PODS to an angle to the side, like a turn out on our driveway. But when they actually came out with the Podzilla, they weren't able to turn the PODS and get it down there. They had to put the PODS up at the street. So, we could have actually saved some money by going with PackRat. That was a negative experience.
The first driver was really good. He came out and since the location was on a hill, he was able to get one PODS down, although he's the one that said he couldn't turn it and get it down into the other corner. But he put blocks underneath the PODS that was down the hill. The second driver came out to pick up the PODS that we had already filled up. But when he was going to put another PODS in place, he was struggling and he couldn't put the PODS in the same location that the other one was at. He said, "It's impossible." But I said, "You just had one there."
He was trying to stack it to where the back of the pod was, instead of going crosswise where the other one hadn't, like when you stack wood on top of each other, and it would have fallen over. I basically had to show him how to put the wood. He used pretty smaller woods. I said, "Hold on. Put the longer ones on the bottom and then stack it to where it's a little bit more stable and not as wobbly." The delivery guy was pretty good in delivering, and it went relatively smoothly in Edwardsville.
My son is moving from Taos, Mexico to Illinois and PODS could be an option. If I had a better experience with PODS and if the price had been a little better, I probably would use PODS again just to help them out. They could just put all the stuff in the PODS and then they can get it, and they don't have to worry about driving it. Although it would be much easier if we could have used PODS, we'll probably go with U-Haul just because of the price. Overall, it was good and convenient with PODS, but it was a little overpriced.

I like that PODS could store offsite because if I were to do a moving company, I would have to move my stuff to a storage unit. And, if I’m moving it to a storage unit, I might as well have them pick it up then deliver it. So I reached out to them over the phone. The PODS' representatives quoted me a price and it was exactly what it is. I’m the kind of guy that needs to know everything and within half an hour later, I want all the details. So, they explained to me all the details. They’re really knowledgeable, friendly and were really patient with me, too.
I went with their small 7-foot container and I like the way their walls were put together and how the door closes. I planned on the drop off location, which was in the apartment complex on the main street and I parked the car where I wanted the pod to go and then when the guys showed up, I just moved my car. They were very patient and careful with it. They weren’t rushing anything. They lifted them up with a chain and set them in place perfectly.
I was supposed to store the pod off for two to three months and then move it back to my new location, but we’re waiting for funding with my business and we haven’t gotten it yet. So, I canceled the service. It had nothing to do with PODS. It's just that it would cost more to store the items after a year-and-a-half than it would to go out and buy the items.
I then called customer service to verify that there was a credit on my account because I paid a month in advance and because I emptied the container by a certain day, they would give me that month in advance back. They said they gave me a charge on a certain date, and it was there when I looked at my Discovery bill. My storage was only $175, but the delivery fee was 200-and-something-dollars, which is a little bit pricey. I was surprised that it was more of vanity storage class itself. But overall, it’s a great experience and I’d use PODS again.

When they came to my new residence to pick up my pods, the assistant of the driver went beyond the call of duty. We were having that ice storm and as I was coming out my front door, they were pulling up. He came up to the front door and grabbed my elbow to help me safely in my car and said, "You should be very careful, man, it's very icy out here. And I don't want you to fall." Being a senior citizen, I appreciated that help because I was afraid to go out though it was something that I had to do. So for him to help me was phenomenal. So, I booked online then I called and spoke with someone to make sure what was going on. It was easy to deal online. Also, the payments were great because I only took out a certain payment once they dropped off a certain amount. So, I'm not paying the full amount upfront and that's awesome. So, they were going to my brother's house in Pennsylvania and the carrier driver called me and said that they're gonna be there in half hour. I was not there but my brother already knew that they were coming so I just texted him. It was really easy. Instead of getting all these phone numbers I just had them contact me.
Also, they answered any questions I had online. I purchased a lock, which was under $15, and they put that with the storage bin and then it's mine. They're not charging $50 for a lock or anything. Also, I knew where my pod was at all times when they were delivering it. I could go online and check things out but they were very communicative. After unpacking the pod I called PODS back and I said, "Okay. It's ready to be picked up in Pennsylvania." They said, "Okay." Then, they came and picked it up. It was really easy to use. I loved it.

It also had some damage to it and it probably needs some attention at some point, but I still used it.
But the one issue I had was that the carrier driver came earlier so basically, I had to delay my pickup date. When I called the customer service, she said, “Well, the contract says that they can come anytime after seven.” I didn’t know that until she told me that. So I suggest that the timeframe should be stated upfront especially if people call in to book their information. I know that's on me and I know everybody should arrange stuff before they sign in, but that's pertinent information and should be stated as much as possible. Evidently, a forklift had hit the unit and almost tore the door completely off of it, but there was no damage to anything inside. It was one of the older wooden style PODS with the fiberglass exterior and it couldn't really take a good hit.
So it wasn't quite right and I learned that the employee that did that had been released sometime ago. I called to make changes a few weeks before my move, and they let me know they were no longer servicing my area... I argued since they agreed to do it before, they should honor it. PODS confirmed they would honor their initial quote. I called again to make sure the change had been made. PODS again assured me they would honor our initial agreement, they would call me before the end of the day. PODS has cancelled my move and left me scrambling to find a competent mover with only a few weeks to go before my planned move. I WOULD NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE TO ANYONE.
Justin, I am very sorry to hear this. Please send me a private message with your customer ID, or phone number associated with the order and I will look into this immediately.

One of my neighbors referred me to PODS so I used them for storage for a period of time. When I called the number, their rep was really good and very helpful. On the delivery, I spoke to the driver briefly to let him know where to set down the pod. There were no issues and I was really very satisfied with the whole experience.

I've used PODS in the past and I've used them again for moving and storage. I went online and got all the information I needed. I wanted to add some PODS at the same time, so I had to speak to someone to find out. I requested for two 16’ and a 12’ containers and when they came, they were very clean and neat. The doors and their lock mechanism were fine and everything works good. They were put exactly where I wanted them to be.
I've also rented some blankets from PODS and I had gotten as well through their website where they have a list of guys who will load furniture and stuff for the client. I contacted one of them and they were very nice and helpful so it worked out well. The drivers were also all very nice and accommodating and whatever I needed they're there to help me. PODS was easy to deal with even in the past. As soon as I needed them within a day, depending on the time, sometimes they even were able to drop off and pick up one container at the same time. I could also keep the containers for a month and there was a time I had a storage container with them for three months.

PODS was great. They did every single thing right with the seemingly complicated move. I booked over the phone and when I had a couple of adjustments for timing, I did those over the computer. I called one of their competitors first but it was negative. I own a business and I deal with a lot of people. I had two pods that went to two different locations in Massachusetts. They went from there to a storage in Florida and I was able to access them in Florida. Then, they delivered them to where they needed to go in Florida when I was ready for them. Everything arrived perfectly.
The pods were in great condition. Everybody's right spot on. The customer service is A1. Every step of the way, these guys nailed it. Their timing was perfect. Also, the drivers were polite and right on time. They call you on the cellphone before they get there just to make sure that you're all set for them. They had great communication right straight through. PODS is freaking awesome. If they were a public company, I would buy stock. They are an excellent company and I was very impressed. I recommended them to a bunch of people.

I've had friends who've used PODS before and said that they were very good at what they did so I booked mine online and it was very easy. I just put in the addresses and then I received a phone call from them to confirm everything. They gave me the arrival times for the pods, when they were going to drop it off so I could fill it up, when they were going to pick it up and when they were going to deliver it. The driver called when he was a few hours out to give me a window as to when he would be here. I called them to have it picked up and they did so. They were on time and responsive and they did a great job.

I had a pod moved from Chicago to California. PODS was the only company that had a depot close to where I needed it to land in California. I started the booking process online and initiated the quote to a certain point. I then had to call them, which isn’t a bad idea because when you’re moving all your personal possessions, it’s good to talk to a human being. I thought that it was really a good experience. The only thing that was a little confusing for me was it felt like every single time I called to ask a question, make a change, or drop the pod off, I got another quote. So I had this whole pile of quotes and I felt a little insecure about cost differential from person to person. It made me feel uneasy. I thought, “Oh, my gosh. I’d better make sure that this is the same as what I got last time.”
As for the container, it was good. I got everything in by a whisker on the largest size container, but that’s on me. And my confidence was not full. I didn’t feel 100% that it was super sturdy and there weren’t going to be any leaks, but again that's just me, because I thought the pod needed to be lightweight since they’re transporting them a long way. But it’s a fantastic system. And then four months later, I had the pod move back from California to Chicago. Ironically, the driver that dropped it off the first time is the one that brought it back the second time. Their drivers were really great! They were really nice, helpful, and gave me a lot of good tips on packing the pod.

We needed a pod unit to store something temporarily while our kitchen was being remodeled. I'd seen a lot of PODS around the neighborhood and they looked in good condition and watertight. When I looked them up online, the price seemed very reasonable so I went ahead with their service. I called initially, but I've been using the online services quite a bit and their website was very user-friendly. The scheduling was good, too. They came when they said they were going to. And the pod was in good condition. The roll-up door and everything worked fine. There was no a problem loading stuff in and out. I did extend it one month and it rained several times but there was no leakage.
The only thing I would say is about the device they move the pod with. The legs protrude on both sides a little bit. You can't get too close to something. So the driver and I manually forced it over a little bit further up close to a tree. And then when it was time to pick it up, I manually pushed it more further into the driveway so it was easy for the driver picking it up to lift and take it away. Something that people need to take into consideration when using one of these units is to make sure that they can get far enough over to the side so they could still use their driveway. Other than that, everything was great. The way they maneuver the thing off the truck and place it inside of them is so interesting. PODS is very professional, very thorough, and had excellent communication. They made a lot of time and effort and I'm very happy with the service. Should I need a temporary storage again, I wouldn't hesitate to call PODS.

We had a great experience with PODS. They allowed us to drop the pods and put our stuff in them at our leisure. We requested for two 16-foot containers and they were fine. The carrier drivers were great and they did a good job. We wanted to schedule our stuff to be picked up on a certain date and they said they couldn't do it that day. But when we told them that we had to have it and that we needed it, they made some arrangements where they could pick it up the day we needed it done. They did everything they were supposed to do, that's why we recommended PODS.

We had planned on using PODS to move from the Seattle area to the Tampa area. We got a quote and schedule the move. We found Pack and Load services on the PODS website. These people did a horrible job of loading our stuff. They had no regard to protecting the furniture. One example is they put tape directly on finished surfaces of our tables and chairs. We have pictures that clearly show scratches to the surfaces of these tables and chairs. They did not even follow the recommendations found on the PODS website for roping off the load every few feet to secure it as if was moved. As a result we submitted a claim for damage that was denied because we did not hire them again to unload the POD.
Why would we pay them again to screw up unloading what they loaded so poorly. They put language in the contracts that absolve them of any reasonable claim. When you call them they are rude and defensive if you even suggest there was a problem. I would recommend you stay away from PODS and their loading services.

I had a little bit of a complex move but it worked out okay and everything went good. I even adjusted my delivery time and they all just rolled with it and got it done. I was really glad about that. I hired one of the movers that PODS recommended and they worked out real good too. I had the pod delivered a couple days earlier and it worked out great.

I got a 8' x 16' container from PODS for storage and long distance move from Wisconsin to New Jersey. I originally booked it online and then I made phone calls to change the dates, pickup times and drop off times and the reps were very good. The container is very clean and secured and everything was perfect. Also, the driver was very knowledgeable and he knew to put the container exactly where I wanted it. The only problem with it is there's no signage to find the storage place in New Jersey in Boonton. If you didn't know exactly where it was, it's hard to find. Other than that, their service has been excellent.

I liked PODS's price point and used their 16-footer from California to Tennessee. It was stored there for a few months. And then we found our home and PODS transferred the pod over to the house and were able to take everything out of there on time. However, when I had the money to pay the large payment for the transport, it was very weird system. I ended up paying the driver the cashier's check. PODS didn't trust me making payments or paying someone directly, and that was very disconcerting. I would have cancelled it if I had a chance, but I didn't. It was already committed and it's too difficult to change everything, time-wise and so forth.
Then when I paid the guy upfront, I got a call asking where's the payment. And nothing could be done until the payment was received by their driver. That's also disconcerting - having extra pressure put on me because PODS didn't believe me. We had to wait. It has been very difficult for me to move the pod over on the scheduled time. But luckily, scheduling everything went fine because we had some time to fix that.
Another thing that bothered me, too, was that I had to pay $2800 for transport from California to Tennessee. I also had to pay for the delivery of the pod to the location in California, which I thought was already included in the payment. That's a few hundred dollars and I didn't have that in my budget. No one made it clear that the pod had to paid for transport to my location in California. It seemed like an extra payment because I paid such a large amount.
But I'd recommend PODS only if the transport is local and short. If it's long distance, sometimes the right hand wasn't speaking to the left hand. Especially when I called up, they had no clue about what was happening and so I had to call many, many times to assure myself that they were going to transport to Tennessee and everything was fine. But the container is perfect. I had vague concerns on the transport because it was filled, but everything came out okay. When we took everything out, it was just as I put it in. We were able to fit everything that they said they would do. And so, I was pleased with that. Their guys have performed very well.

We were gonna pick a moving company because we were going to Tennessee, but then we changed our minds and decided we were moving to Tucson and decided to call PODS. And I went online and compared things, too. I booked a pod on the phone and my experience with the rep from PODS was perfect. They were great all the way through. They also suggested places to contact to help pack and unpack.
We scheduled the biggest pod because we were gonna take all our furniture. When we decided to move to Arizona, we got rid of so much stuff so the POD had a lot of room in it, but it was fine. And the packers secured everything really well. Only one or two things moved. When we couldn’t have the movers come to Arizona as they didn’t service that, I went online, checked everything, and read the reviews from PODS and that’s why I called another mover. I knew the construction was not as sturdy as the first people we were gonna pick, but everything was fine. We didn’t feel like anything was gonna happen. They delivered our stuff and everything went great. Overall, PODS was great. We weren't home when they dropped the pod off or when they picked it up, both times in Margate, Florida and in Tucson, but they called us and told us what they were doing and when. And since we didn’t have to be there and we weren't able to anyway, we just trusted everything.

The workers from PODS were polite and nice, but they dropped the pod too close to a hydrant and the police left a note on the pod saying, "If you don't move it in one or two days, we're going to tow it away." So I called PODS. They had to move it another six feet down from the hydrant and they charged me $119 for it. I followed up and upon final removal, they said they would credit that after but I don't remember seeing a credit. I could be wrong and I'd have to go back and look. But at that time, I didn't remember seeing a credit. In the scheme of life, it's not a big thing but it was really niggling at that time. But other than that, the gentleman who brought it and picked it up was very nice and everything's fine. Also, I would be very happy if they'd refund the $119. I'd recommend them but I'd tell my friends to make sure to be careful where they put the pod.

My family moved from Tennessee to Colorado. We tried to do all the research we could do before we made our move. After changing my mind with U-Haul I decided to go with PODS even though their services were almost twice as much. I liked the idea of how they transported it with such care plus they offered a $10,000 content protection insurance. After arriving in Colorado Springs we quickly realized that this was not where we wanted to make our new life. We decided to let PODS store our contents for a couple of more months while we found the right place for us. So 3 months later we are about to close on our new home so I decided to call and arrange to have our container shipped.
After talking with the customer service specialist she informed me that since our new home was 108 miles from where the container is being stored then they wanted to close out my order and start a new one charging me $1033 for the delivery. Keep in mind I have already paid them over $2600 to deliver it from Tennessee. You can deliver your furniture to a different country for what they are trying to charge me. In three months' time I had already given them almost another $1000 in storage fees. So now the only solution to solve this problem affordably is to one way a U-Haul from the storage facility. They informed me that when I empty out my container in the cul de sac at their facility that my content insurance will be null and void. So I have to open and check every box I have packed (12 boxes have china in them) before I load them into the U-Haul. They originally told me it would only cost me $110 to deliver the Pod to my new home.
UPDATED ON 05/02/2017: I emptied out my container on the 27th and they charged me on the 29th for $313.36. The original post I had was how displeased I was with what they were going to charge me to deliver to my new home 108 miles north of the storage facility. To soothe me over, the customer service rep told me that she was going to remove my card info since my pick up day was close to the payment date. That way I wouldn't get charged for another month. So lo and behold none of this was true.
When they finally agreed that they would refund me they tried to only give me a partial refund so I had to go to beast mode and they agreed to refund the full amount. The billing clerk assured me that the money would be back in my account by the end of the day. Once again that was a lie and now I am on hold with a wait time of 30+ minutes trying to fight to get back the money they had no business taking. I just wish PODS would just give me my money and go away! I would not recommend this company to my enemy!
Mr. Roach, we are very sorry for your troubles. As a gesture of good will, the location offered to re-deliver your container to your home despite it being well out of the service area. Unfortunately, there are fees associated with that. Similar to every insurance policy, we cannot insure items that are not in our possession or inside one of our containers. I apologize for any confusion that may have occurred regarding this. Please feel free to send me a private message with your customer ID if you have any questions or would like to schedule your move.

I did some research and PODS had good reviews so I booked a pod with them over the phone. We had it delivered to Maui, Hawaii, to be taken to Henderson, Nevada. We loaded it up and at first we didn't think that everything was going to go in the pod, but we had extra room and I'm sorry I didn't bring a few more things that I wish we have here now.
Then we got a call from a lady saying that the pod was damaged en route and there were significant holes. She said that there was a report that she had and that she would file a claim once we checked everything out. It looked like it was from a forklift and it didn't go all the way through. Fortunately, nothing was damaged and everything was fine. We had a few chips on some furniture and antique stuff but I thought that was from the packing and it had nothing to do with PODS. Also, the drivers who picked up the container and dropped it off were both very courteous and did a good job. They put it right where we needed it. So I would recommend PODS. I've put it on my Facebook page that we were very happy with them.

PODS was a lot more convenient to me because I needed the storage unit since I wanted to be able to take my time little by little. I browsed it online and booked it over the phone. The website asked me all the details to get the quote from them. So when I spoke to the representative, they gave me the price. He was always very polite, helpful, and explained to me everything in detail. We had a special quote for people that needed two more months of service which was really convenient.
I ordered the second from the biggest, but they didn't have any available at that time. So they gave the biggest one for no extra charge. Then the drivers who picked up the container called me each time they would drop it off and pick it up. Also, they called me in advance to basically touch base so we can see if it was finished or if I needed anything extra. I called customer service once but it was so late, but they stuck to my email and I completed that. Overall, I have really loved PODS and I'm probably going to use them forever for all my moving.

I booked over the phone and it was very good with the rep. They answered my questions and got a date that I can get it done.
The POD was in good condition. They put it where they could, not exactly where I want it, but it was an ideal spot. They couldn't get access to where I wanted it to be because of the way that POD is delivered and I didn't have enough room for them to move it sideways. They couldn't move it sideways and get it back out of there so it made sense for me to and it was in a good position. I was pleased with my service. I booked PODS over the phone and the person I spoke to was helpful and able to fill me in on all the ins and outs, of what's involved with doing the whole thing, process and such. Since we're moving out-of-state, they only had two options. And so, we used two of the large and one of the small containers. The containers were sturdy and clean. Everything worked as it was supposed to and got mostly a quick lesson on moving as far as loading. I have been pretty impressed by the drivers and how they can maneuver things into a small space. They were always on time too.
We had three of them, and the only problem I had with the first one was that he gave a pre-call and told me that he'd be there between 11:00 and 1:00, and he showed at 9:00. I was still in the process of loading the things so we were under a time crunch for when we had to get out of the house. So I asked, "Can you come back today?" And he's like, "No, you have to schedule another day." I didn't really have another day to do that. I also didn't have the container fully loaded so that made me a little bugged. The third one I ended getting was a small one and it was because we had a lot of small stuff and had I been able to fill that first pod, there's a chance I could not have needed that third one. I ended up having to spend an extra $600 for another pod and that's the only thing that was bad. They dropped the things off and I did all the loading. So, it's a cheaper alternative than paying movers.

We hired PODS for moving and storage. We moved from Florida to South Carolina and thought that the pods would only be stored for about six months. But our process to find or build a new home took more than a year and a half. Since it was our first experience, we didn't know how much the pods would hold. So we had two small, 8'×7'×7' containers. But then they were filled and we found out that we needed a third. So we had three pods. Two were put in storage and the other one was immediately unpacked at our apartment in the Charleston area.
One thing I was disappointed in was the set of packers they recommended. The packers did a generally good job but there were a couple of things that maybe I shouldn't have shipped that I did, which were soaked plants. And these didn't fair too well. Another thing that happened was our brand-new driveway got a lot of black tire marks on it, which the driver said would wash away with the first rain, but these didn't. The marks are slowly fading but we're going to have to use a concrete cleaner on them, which isn't the end of the world.
But the pods were then delivered promptly at our brand-new house very well. I was very pleased with everybody's professionalism. The people that picked them up and dropped them off were very friendly, too. It was an absolutely excellent experience. I'd use them again. I already recommended the company to my friends who were moving.

So, I had to follow-up to get that thing straightened out. But I like that I didn't have to move things twice with PODS. One of the great pickups was not having to go in and out of trucks. And jumping up to that next level and having to move everything in and out of there was big savings for me.
