Moving Direct Van Lines services

As a moving broker, Moving Direct Van Lines connects customers with licensed and reputable carriers in their area that are equipped to handle their move. The company doesn’t actually offer any trucks, moving equipment or services; instead, it helps customers go through their options and find the third-party moving company that's best for them.

Some of its partners offer services like packing and unpacking and both short- and long-term storage. When booking your move, you’ll work with Moving Direct Van Lines to determine what options are available to you and at what cost.

Moving Direct Van Lines rates

Because it’s a broker, Moving Direct Van Lines doesn’t offer upfront rates on its site. Instead, customers fill out an online quote request, providing information such as pickup and drop-off ZIP codes and the move date. From there, the company generates a quote with pricing information.

When getting a quote from the company, ask how pricing works, including how much you owe upfront and whether the quote is binding.

My shipment was held at their warehouse for 6 weeks. While there it was damaged, items stolen, 3 boxes of Christmas ornaments taken, 4 large pieces of furniture also taken. All boxes showed signs of theft. A carrier from California was hired to go get the shipment and deliver to me. They did not check the manifest. More than half of my shipment was gone. All attempts to contact, do a claim or speak to anyone was ignored. The company is fraudulent. The local carrier “All Saints” were dirty, unprofessional and demanding. Please- do not use these companies.

These people are crooks. Broken antique furniture, double the cost quoted. Demanded a wire of funds to release my belongings. Never, ever use them. They harassed my wife at our old home telling me she was uncooperative, they packed valuable Native American vases inside hanging clothes and nothing was marked. Unpacking we broke vases worth thousands because we did not know they were intermingled with our clothes. God what a nightmare.

I wanted to find a mover to help me move from one place in Fargo, North Dakota to another place in Fargo, North Dakota but I get a message back saying they don't have any. I have everything packed and ready to go, I just need movers to get me to my new apartment. It says, "We are unable to match you at this time. It was Consumer Affairs."

I was extremely dissatisfied with the All Saints Movers contractors that this brokerage company worked with for the following reasons:

      1. I received a reasonable quote on the phone after giving a detailed list of inventory to be moved twice. Moving Direct indicated that there was no need to visit the premises for a more accurate quote. However on the day of the move, the contractors indicated I would need to pay over $900.00 more because there was more furniture - quite a shock as I provided specific measurements. I expected to be charged some difference but not $900.00+.

      2. On the date of the move, the payments expected from the contractor were never discussed and quite unexpected. The lead mover from the contracting company as well was extremely unprofessional with me when I contracted Moving Van Direct Lines about submitting the payments.

      3. The actual date to move my furniture to the final destination took way longer than expected (almost 3 weeks) and I had to continually follow up with Moving Van Direct Lines for an update which was poor.

      4. On the date of the move to the final destination, the contracted moving company at that time that they were not able to load from the truck to my door and if they were to find another way it would cost an additional $900.00 + cash which I was not prepared to pay as I was not aware of this. In addition, the contractors only accepted USPS Money Orders or Zelle which was never communicated before. So I had to rent a U-Haul truck and have them load into that truck on a side street, drive to my location and offload the furniture there. This was highly inconvenient as I was unaware how to assemble the furniture they de-assembled that was never de-assembled after purchasing from furniture store years before. In my experience, the communication between the brokerage company and contractors was highly lacking, making for a very disappointing experience.

      5. I asked for my complaint to be passed on to the owner of the company who never responded.

      6. One piece of furniture was lost and not returned. In repeated calls, I found out that that even though they claim the item was not found, they did not have a complete description noted on the specifics of that item even though I had submitted that before. I submitted a claim but never hear back about the status of that claim. I continue to follow up with the company about the lost filing cabinet which I am hoping they will locate.

      7. The only positive experience I had is with the person I initially contacted to schedule the move at the Moving Direct Van Lines - who seemed to be very professional. However, with all the negative experiences that I have had with this move, it overshadows the positive.
