This was the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I was very upfront about my needs, and agreed to a price. When my stuff was picked up, they said I had 700cubic feet. It was 451 cubic feet! My stuff came a week LATE, and damaged. They refused to allow me to file a claim, and charged me DOUBLE PRICE, after subbing my contract to a lower-rated company! NEVER AGAIN!

This moving company is a joke. I paid about $8700.00 to move a golf cart and some boxes from Surprise, AZ to Florida. The first round they showed up with a 3 foot wide ramp and was unable to load the golf cart. I then tried to cancel the move with them. They refused to give my deposit of $4100.00 dollars back. I had found a company that moved golf carts for $1200.00 and a small pod for $3500.00, or $4700,00 total instead of $8,700.00. This company is a ripoff and I was forced to use them because they wouldn’t give my deposit back after failing to bring the proper equipment to move my stuff.

I talked to a person named Hugo. He seemed very friendly and sincere at his job. He sent me links to research the company. I followed his links and researched some others myself. It seemed like a legit company and service. Unfortunately they informed me that the price went from 5k to 10k. I will not dispute that we had more stuff than we originally talked about. However when I told them how much belongings we had to move and informed Hugo that I probably would have more and told them I couldn't afford double and he assured me that there would be zero chance of that happening. I even talked to Hugo several times afterwards and received the same assurance.
Three days prior to move and I receive a call from their quality assurance department going over our move. Susie then went on to tell us that we doubled our move size. I informed Hugo that we had a 4 bedroom house and we then went into detail about the items we were taking. We are not taking most of our furniture but were taking tvs. I repeatedly stressed to Hugo what we had and how much. Then Susie informed me that he only put down a few items. After asking repeatedly if the price was going to double and receiving multiple assurances that it would not, they did exactly as they said they wouldn't do. Doubled the price. Avoid this company unless you have unlimited funds and truly do not care about how much you spend.

They contacted me when they noticed I was looking for a moving company. They said it would be $1400 deposit, 861 and pick up 861 at drop off, and Jacob swore to me that they were not use a third-party to come pick my apartment things up. Well, they did, Eagle Moving group was their name. And he just looked around and said it was gonna be 1100 ft.³ and they want a 4000 more dollars, which I don’t have and New Start won’t give me my $1400 back and I’ve lost all my emails. I’ve got hacked so I don’t have my bill of Laden. And Jacob has blocked me from his phones and even his email. I have called and called and left messages for this New Start relocation company and nobody will get back with me. It’s the worst experience I’ve ever had.

First off, do not trust their sales. Sales guy lied to me about the process, claiming he could accommodate the move date I needed and conveniently forgetting to mention a 2-day window. He also lied and said he had a truck coming to my area, when in fact he had nothing to do with scheduling or logistics. It was all just to tell me lies to make a sale. Beware of the sales! The contracted movers were okay on pickup and terrible on delivery. They scratched my floors, the truck leaked oil on the driveway, and they left me to clean up. They were also jerks. Do yourself a favor and work with a larger, more reputable moving company. It's not worth saving a few bucks for these guys.

Worst moving experience ever!!!! Initial price given and deposit paid. Move was set for a Monday, then on Friday they call and we were told price agreed upon was not right. We had to pay a second deposit or truck wouldn't show up on Monday. Put us in a corner since there was no time to find another option. Moving truck comes on Monday and I find out someone else's stuff is also on the truck. Stuck again. Nine hours later once almost done I'm told I used more boxes than paid for so it will cost me extra. Okay no problem.
When truck is full, not all of my stuff fits. Had to leave belongings behind. Then they tell me I need to pay THOUSANDS MORE before they will leave to deliver my things. Rock meet hard place. Most people would not have been able to pay this out of the blue but thank God I had help. Now here I am at new house nine days later WITHOUT my things!
Oh, P.S. Moving truck goes to warehouse then reloaded onto a different truck that will eventually deliver your belongings. Along with multiple chances for things to get broken. I have called multiple times trying to find out when I will get my things with ZERO help. This has been the most stressful move I've ever made and I have always done out of state moves myself before. Would have been cheaper to get a truck and just pay them to drive my things six hours. When truck gets here they also will want THOUSANDS MORE to unload the truck. Gee can't wait. Oops, looks like I am!

I wish I could give negative stars. Do NOT use this company!! They quoted us at $4k moving all of our stuff from Virginia to Florida and said it would take 2 days for our belongings to get to the new address. Keep in mind, we fully disclosed all our belongings and amount of boxes that would need to be moved so that there would be no surprises.
So, moving day comes, the movers get to our residence to pick up and gave us a new estimate of close to $10k! They said they didn't realize how many boxes we had and that they would take up more space than they had originally thought. We wound up paying $8k and (almost a week later) we still don't have our stuff. The truck was supposed to be here 2 days ago, then supposed to be here yesterday, now they're saying the end of the week! We're sleeping on the floors, we've had to buy clothes and eat microwave meals because everything we own is on that truck. My husband starts his new job soon and all his tools are on that truck. This place does nothing but take your money and lie.

1st est was a FaceTime walkthrough. Discussed every item I have-$5000. 2nd est on phone with Customer service 2 days before move covered all listed on 1st est- now $7600. Lease was up, no time to change movers in August. Final $$ -day of move before they would drive away $10,000 plus! My move was a one bedroom apartment going to another state less than 200 miles. Actual moving crew was fine. Watch out. I was duped!

They don’t call you, I’m supposed to have my items picked up tomorrow or the next day and no communication whatsoever as to which day it will be if at all. You can’t speak to anyone when calling in either. I am going to have lose my deposit because I don’t trust them to take my stuff as once they lose it I won't be able to get holding anyone. Lesson learned about predatory movers. I read the contract and they were in supposed to ask for 25% but made me pay almost 50%. SMH, avoid at all costs.

The movers that were contracted to complete my move were so unprofessional, I don't know if I can summarize what a terrible experience this was. They showed up late, gouged my hardwood floors in several places (then refused to cover the repair fees), and spent 2 ½ months calling New Start Relocation to get the delivery of my furniture scheduled and only got the run around or no return calls. I finally reached out to a local news agency that has a consumer's report segment and asked them to get involved. FINALLY, after being informed they would be investigated did I get my furniture back. I had to file the cost of floor repairs with my homeowner's insurance to be reimbursed. This review isn't about trying to harm this company, but to save some other person from going through this.

New Start Relocation is a case study in why the moving brokerage model can be a scam. They failed on every fundamental level, from initial communication to final delivery. Their agent attempted to charge an additional $1500 upon pickup for items (televisions) explicitly included in my binding estimate, a classic bait-and-switch tactic that forced me to discard my property. Following this, communication was non-existent. Their chosen representative, "Jasmine," was unresponsive for weeks, and the company later denied all prior contact with her, attempting to deflect responsibility.
The most egregious failure is that New Start Relocation, an FMCSA-certified company, hired Spartan Van Lines as the carrier, knowing full well that this company operates with a history of unprofessionalism. This shows a complete disregard for consumer protection. The entire move experienced catastrophic delays, taking over a month for a standard interstate delivery.
To top it all off, after New Start's repeated written guarantees that my final balance was $0 due to their failures, their chosen carrier still attempted to illegally demand $527 at delivery. It took an act of Congress and a direct ultimatum to get them to honor their own written commitment. This company is not a partner in your move; they are a liability. Avoid at all costs.

I worked with New Start Relocation to move across country. I had 2 budgeting calls with them. In the first I described the contents room by room to receive a quote. The second call was a FaceTime tour of the house and there was an additional charge, but was assured that would be the max budget. When the movers came I was told the original estimate was way off. In total, the final bill was 2x the original quote.

New Start Relocation has deceptive pricing lacking transparency. I arranged a move from Williamsburg, VA, to Rockford, IL, and another move from Williamsburg to Ellicott City, MD. The "binding estimates" were $3000 and $2740, respectively, but the final bills were $6704 and $4630. New Start has very pleasant smooth-talking brokers who follow a sleazy unethical script. My broker claimed he would be present at pickup, which was a lie--pickup is by an assigned carrier. He made a very reasonable sounding promise that the estimate could go up or down, but that too was a lie: he knew the price would go up, by about double. He disingenuously showed personal care by giving me his cell phone number, but when I called back, my call was automatically forwarded to the front office.
Shortly before the move (too late to make alternate plans), the broker called to verify the moving list. Unless you know the precise list of items, with dimensions and cubic feet, you will end up being hit with surcharges, even if the list does not substantially change from the initial estimate. On the day of the move I learned that there were additional charges: $300 fuel surcharge, $400 bulk fee (for a queen bedframe and mattress), and $480 materials (which you purchase at Home Depot for a fraction of that price).
Once I signed the contract with the broker, I was in the hands of the assigned carrier, when New Start was unhelpful. There was miscommunication and confusion between New Start and the carrier over the basic plan (two separate moves, each with two delivery stops). Only the evening before delivery did the carrier inform me of the date and time of the delivery. Although we were not charged extra delivery fees, be aware that there is a potential also to pay extra delivery fees for extra stair steps, no elevator, long walk to truck.
On the positive side, the broker was very accommodating to meet my schedule for pickup and delivery (although the carrier followed through, there was some uncertainty about when the carrier would actually deliver). Also, the carrier (Home and Office Movers) packed and unpacked carefully. Nothing was lost or broken.
My advice: Try to find a company you can trust. Know your moving list in detail, with dimensions and cubic feet. Ask many questions about possible extra fees. Be aware that the broker is motivated to get you to sign an unrealistic low-ball estimate, after which you will be in the hands of an assigned carrier. My main issue is lack of honest transparent pricing.

DO NOT USE!! This company is a joke from the beginning. Sales guy “Scott” quoted me and I thought it sounded too good. Well after looking at the quote again it said “300 cf”. I knew for a fact I had more than that and asked him to put more. He said “no way you have more than that, and if you do I’ll pay for it”. Sure enough, movers show up and are charging me more because I exceed 300cf.
Fast forward… I am still sitting at home with no furniture from when they picked up over a month ago. I get married in 2 weeks and they have my suit. So not only am I having to buy furniture cause of this delay, I have to go get a new suit fo my wedding. I figured they would show up before 6-8 weeks. Now I’m assuming they will decide to show up while I’m at my wedding and no one will be there to accept my stuff. Probably just going to get an attorney involved at this point. I have called weekly and get the same answer “we’re waiting on a response from the company who picked your order up”. DO NOT USE!! This company should not be in business or responsible for other people’s belongings.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! This was the worst experience that I have every had hands down. I was quoted an extremely low price of $3800 and paid a non-refundable deposit. Two days before the move the price increased to $15,000 when I provided a very detailed and itemized list of my items. I was told that I would find out my delivery date when my items were picked up. At that time I was told it could take up to 21 days to get my things and so I had to pay an additional $2,000 to receive my items by the date I had originally requested. When the driver looked at my items, even though I had provided an itemized list to the estimator he increased my price an additional $4,000. I had to pay this additional cost even though it was based on his visual estimate or he would not load my items. I was also not told that my items would be transferred a total of 4 times between storages and trucks.
When they were coming to deliver I was told a semi truck could not access my street and I was charged another $2300 for them to transfer it to another truck. I lived in a very regular neighborhood and that same morning another semi drove down my street (which I took pictures of). When my items arrived the boxes were crushed and broken open beyond belief, most of my furniture was damaged and several items including my exercise bike and large wicker patio chair were missing and my mattresses were filthy even though they were bagged. My items looked like they had been thrown around. They did not assist with putting any of the furniture back together that they had disassembled. The total charge for my move ended up being $23,000 and I only had 4 pieces of actual furniture.

I will absolutely never use this company nor recommend them to anyone. Completely unorganized, upcharged upon arrival. They disassembled EVERYTHING. Even took the legs off the TVs, small nightstands, anything they could take apart, they did. So I asked them if the delivery person was going to reassemble everything and they said yes. Oscar told me to let the driver know my delivery date (which was next day) and they would handle it. Turns out the people picking my stuff up were not the ones dropping it off. They told me it would be 3-5 days before my items would arrive.
I called customer service 2 days later for an update, and they said it could take 2-10 days and had no estimated time of arrival. 2 days after that I called again, they said it could take 2-14 days, and were waiting on driver confirmation. 4 days later they told me they were still waiting on driver confirmation and still had no delivery date. The next day, customer service said the driver should be calling me in 1-2 days with a 1-2 day window of delivery. I got a call the following day and the driver said he was 4 hours away and arriving at 10pm. He was by himself when he arrived so he had no help, I confirmed the reassemble part and he said he will do what he can. I helped him unload my stuff, some items broken to pieces, but he was very apologetic for the way everyone else handled the situation, and helped me put my most important items back together. He was the only positive in the whole experience.
This company is a complete shit show, and the 3 different departments lack communication and efficiency in their processes and planning. Something that was supposed to be stress free for my 600 mile move has been the cause of ALL my stress during this relocation. I can't say enough, how much I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM. New Start Relocation (Broker) farmed my move out to East West Movers LLC out of NJ. They packed my things, then moved my shipment to a warehouse where they unpacked it, then repacked it, and another mover brought it to my home. The head mover, who picked up my shipment at my home came with two youth packers (they spoke Arabic). The head guy was verbally abusive about the total cost of the move (that increased $4,000 plus). Before they were ready to leave, I quickly searched the home, the left an entire storage closet full of storage bins. They packed it after I informed them that they needed to load it.
Time passed with no contact. When I asked East West Movers when they were delivering my shipment, they replied that they did not know. It was only after I contacted New Start Relocation, that the mover called me and told me they were reloading my shipment as he was speaking. He also instructed me to leave the money orders blank. BIG RED FLAG.
I put the name that is on the Interstate Bill of Lading: East West Movers LLC. A few days later, a different mover (with a CA phone number) called me the day before arrival. He became contentious about the money orders, at which point I told him to stop gaslighting me that the money orders were already prepared. I'll be doing a complete write-up about unethical business practices and any damage to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) for interstate moves, the Better Business Bureau (BBB). People who pay for professional services should get professional services. Threats like: "That may not end well for you." And other contentious behaviors are not appropriate.

My experience with New start relocation was both highly frustrating and stressful. The initial estimate provided was grossly miscalculated and appeared to just be in order to make the sale. I had stated that the amount that I knew I would be able to and the rep then tried to match this and offered a discount to a large group of colleagues all having to move at the same time. This quickly doubled in price at day of pick up with no help from customer service to maintain the discounts that were offered. The items while advertised as arriving in 1-2 weeks then did not arrive for a month and sat in a NJ warehouse until I called and complained that I knew they have not moved because of an air tag in one of the boxes. Then once the items were finally delivered three items were thrown into a separate individuals pile by mistake and the only reason I got these back is that that person happen to be one of my colleagues.
Furthermore and more importantly at least one item had actually been opened (a box with a latched top containing rare mineral specimens and fossils). I do not know if this in some way spilled or was otherwise open but items in it including a recent purchased rare fossil were lost/stolen. There was also damage to several other items. Others in my group had similar issues with some getting charged 3x cost even. I highly recommend going with another group for your moving needs to avoid the frustration and property loss issues I and others experienced.

Please do not do any business with this company. Bait-and-switch tactics are used to lock you into spending thousands of dollars. New Start Relocation is a broker and does not actually assist with moving. They bind you in a contract with estimated quotes (more than one), each of which may cost between $2,000 and $3,000. On the moving date, actual movers will arrive and provide their quote, which may differ from the quote given during the video walkthrough with Quality Assurance.
I spent $ 5,200.38 on estimated quotes via phone/video and was going to be charged $ 8,011.28 when the movers arrived. Yes, totaling over $13,000. I did not go through with this arrangement due to an underestimation by New Start Relocation, but I used U-PACK, which would have saved me a significant amount of money. By using U-Pack, I spent $1189.00. Of course, their representatives become angry and aggressive when asked to speak with a higher authority. A Class Action Lawsuit will come in time. Keep all records and statements.

A few weeks ago, my mom collected quotes from about 4 companies. New Start was right in the middle, price-wise, so I called them back. The price went up $500 because of a few extra things Mom had forgotten. When I told the guy I was moving for a job with NASA, he started gushing about "Ancient Aliens." I've never actually seen it, but y'all know it's got a bit of a bit of a reputation. And that probably should have been what prompted me to cancel. But this guy also assured me he'd take care of any problems I had day-of, so I was paying more attention to that reassurance than anything else, I guess.
There was a call for a final inventory a few days before pickup, which was with some other lady. I added some boxes but took off some furniture, and somehow it was still going to be an extra $500 from what I signed off on. Mind you this is now $1000 more than what they told Mom originally. I almost backed out then. But instead I asked what would happen if they took off the 4 bookshelves on my inventory. I told both of these people multiple times that the shelves fold flat. We're talking maybe 3 inches deep, 2-3 feet wide, 4 feet tall. Apparently, there's nothing like that in their system because taking the bookshelves off the list decreased the volume by 70 cubic feet. There's no way that's how big these are (I'm thinking it's closer to 10 cubic feet). Anyway, that took off the extra $500 this lady was saying would be added. Okay, crisis averted. I guess.
Every person both my mom and I talked to, we asked multiple times if they were really going to be able to pick up, drive down, and deliver same day. No one said flat out no...They mostly ignored the question. That probably should have been another red flag. Cut to day-of. The guy with the truck shows up and starts acting like I'm crazy for thinking they'd be delivering everything that day. He's going on about how it's the end of the month, and everyone is moving, and they're too busy to change the day's plan, yada yada yada. So I'm trying to pin him down about when it WILL be delivered. And he's starts with maybe tomorrow. And then the longer he talks, the later it is, like *maybe Friday (it was Tuesday).
The kicker was when I went to try to find my paperwork to see what it said about delivery. And he says it doesn't matter what my paperwork says because HIS paperwork doesn't say anything about same day delivery, so that's not happening. So I go call the guy who said he'd take care of any issues. No answer. (BTW, over a week later, and he STILL has not responded to my voicemail.) At this point, visions of horror stories from Reddit are flashing across my brain about moving companies that hold your stuff hostage at the delivery end to wring more money out of you. So I told him to leave. Without my stuff. He's all like, 'But you'll lose this big deposit you already paid.' And I tell him I know, and I don't care. Dad shows the guy to the door, and I take a few minutes to look like this:😭.
While I'm trying to pull it back together, the guy comes *back to the door to say his boss said they can deliver it tomorrow. All I can do is look at him like he's lost his ever-loving mind and shake my head no. I was lucky enough to have some flexibility in my move schedule and sorted out another solution. (It involved the only U-Haul available in my small town at 15 minutes notice, a dolly, the random guy from Craigslist the movers had hired to help for the morning, and my teenage nephew and two of his football player friends at the pick up end and Two Men and a Truck at the other a few days later.)
Then came the phone call that the billing department was trying to get in touch with me about my deposit. They had the gall to offer hush money (i.e. a portion of my deposit back) in exchange for my agreement to "not disparage New Start Relocation, or otherwise take any action which could reasonably be expected to adversely affect the professional online reputation of the company, officers, agents or employees on any online review websites."

I booked my move from Los Angeles, CA to Katy, TX on July 21st and sales agent name is Scott. Few issues with this broker.
1. There are no updates about pick up dates and delivery dates, till you call them and ask about the updates. And don't trust the timelines they provide, it changes.
2. I clearly mentioned to Sales representative, I have stairs at Katy apartment and my apartment is at second floor and he mentioned that there won't be any charges for stairs. Clearly it was not the case and delivery happened on 08/03/2025 and shipping company demanded the extra cost $160 for stairs if more than 10 steps and long distance carry if more than 60 ft (it was just walkway path and just they used trolley to carry packages). These were not communicated by broker.
3. It seems there are terms and conditions about steps and long distance and sales person was not even giving time to read entire contract and solicitated till contract is signed & payment is completed.
4. I called to New Start Relocation about this discrepancy and their representative are irresponsible and not even helping.
5. If they could have informed earlier, I could have made my decision and be prepared for it. Hiding the additional fees is very bad.

They grossly misquoted the amount by over 45%. Lack all communication skills. Flat out lies to get you off the phone. I've personally been told 2-3days out for over a month and my belongings are at throw a dart.

Our experience with New Start has been a nightmare. It started with the sales representative, Antoine, omitting several of the items we told him from his initial volume estimate resulting in an inaccurate quote.Antoine also assured us there would be no surprises. We contacted New Start and we were told any discrepancies would be corrected when they contacted us 5-7 days before pick up. They didn't contact us until 3-4 days before pickup. That coincided with the last day we could cancel and get a full refund. The finalizing of our list with Susie resulted in a 35-40% increase in freight volume. When asked, Susie also assured us that our final delivery would be in 26 ft straight truck because a semi was too large for an urban delivery.
The movers arrived and immediately informed us that the final delivery would be in a semi and if it couldn't be done, we would be charged 1$ a cubic ft for transfer to a smaller truck. In addition, the mover increased our volume by another 25-30%. Nothing had been added to our list from our conversation with Susie. Our bill has doubled from the original estimate. New Start hooks you with an inaccurate offer and drags you along making it more difficult to back out of bad deal. Stay away.

Our experience could not have been worse than it was. We were moving across several states and started way early so we would not be dealing last minute on anything. We were given a very fair price upfront based on our honest answers to his questions as to what we have to move. We signed a commitment based on his quote.
Three days before our move (when it was too late to change) he called and asked for a list of a Every box and each piece of furniture with dimensions. After that our price went up nearly three times his original quote, but we had no choice, we had to be out of our house. Then when the truck got to our house the drivers wanted to raise the price considerably more again. We waited nearly thirty days for the furniture to arrive, and when it did we had several items damaged, of which some could be repaired and some could not. Still waiting for resolution on that. I would never recommend New Start Relocation or Stanford Van Lines to anyone needing relocation assistance. Contrarily, I would say use anyone else but them.

My first conversation with the company went well, so I gave them a contract. Everything after I signed has been an absolute joke. A few days before my pickup, I got a call from someone in their company to go over details. He called me stupid for not knowing the logistics of a service that I've never used, and told me he could tell I was autistic because of how I was speaking to him.
The company they contracted with to pick up my stuff changed their arrival time three times within 24 hours of the scheduled pickup, ultimately arriving late, and they didn't have the most up to date manifest, so they only sent one guy instead of the three I had been told would be there. He managed to get one other guy, who we had to wait for since no one had been prepared, and then they asked me for help moving some objects, and told me that they flat out wouldn't move some of my things that I had gone over with the dispatcher earlier that week. So I didn't get the service I was paying for.
Now, a month later I have had to call every week to get an idea of when my things might be delivered. I was told they would hold my things for up to a month if I needed it, but that longer wouldn't be profitable. I had told them I could get my stuff delivered as soon as possible. Earlier this week, I was told I would get my possessions delivered by the end of the week, and to call Thursday if I hadn't heard from the dispatcher. I called today, Thursday, and was told my delivery will be in 5-6 business days. Every interaction I have with this company has made me angrier than the last, and I just want my things. I've already paid thousands of dollars, but apparently being a paying customer doesn't matter, and I'll get my things whenever they feel like it. Zero professionalism. Zero integrity. And I'd give them zero stars if that was possible. What a joke of a company.

I would give zero stars if it were an option. They lied about the prices, and when we tried to cancel due to this, they tried to claim we signed a document that we didn’t remember signing. Turns out, they forged our signatures to try and get us out of the refund window. WHAT THEY DID WAS FRAUDULENT AND WE WOULD HAVE NEVER KNOWN HAD WE NOT READ THE FINE PRINT. I COULD NOT RECOMMEND A COMPANY LESS.

We had a terrible experience with the company where they gave a quote of $4000 to move from Pike Road, AL to greater Houston area but they cheated us by reducing the number of items and trying to add more money. One Mr Lawrence ** who took the order declined to answer my calls and refused to help us. Driver was very RUDE and he didn’t even let us to speak or try to help us. Finally we ended up canceling the service and went through a lot mental trauma! We were forced to seek help from our friends and some local folks to move out our heavy furniture and everything to a Storage Center. The company is fully responsible for our mental stress and physical agony we went through on July 13 and 14 until we shifted our stuff personally! So I never and ever recommend this company!😡😡😡

This company survives off lying to their clients. Salespeople tell you everything BUT the truth. Price doubled when all was said and done and the delivery was over a week late and definitely not as it was described as it would go. I would definitely NOT recommend this company. Morals and ethics are NOT good.

I have ZERO complaints about the work done. They packed & moved me great. The issue I DO have is with all the hidden fees & maybe slightly deceptive tactics. I was told the day before I was set to have the movers come & pack me up that "I didn't have enough space & to add more space to my move". NOT sure how this can happen when they have an inventory of all my stuff. They are the "professionals" & should know how much space is required. So I purchased the extra space to be safe. Once the movers came & saw all my items, they too told me I don't have enough space & need to add MORE. So I did, what am I to do in that moment? I needed to move.
The man who packed up told me "see you Monday or Tuesday" only to find out he is not supposed to give me a day/time he will arrive because they have to RESCHEDULE my delivery with a new set of movers. My truck arrived 3 days after I did. Again, no complaints with the movers themselves, they did a great job. But I was also told that I would be charged for stairs, something that was NOT told to me at ANY point until that moment. Again, I just had no choice. So in short, my move that I thought I was getting great discount on actually went up almost x4 of my originally paid quote.

It started out great working with Madison who seemed helpful in the beginning. She gave us our quote and listed all items that we needed moved from Minnesota to Ohio. I called a few times with questions on arrival and delivery dates was told no problem well that wasn't true she never once mentioned it could take two weeks to get our stuff. The quote she gave me was nothing near what I was charged it was almost double so beware!
I called and asked how this could change so much and was never given an answer other than it goes by the square footage. I understand that but you gave a quote of what I had and even removed items so I should have been charged less! Very unprofessional in the end. I would never recommend them as the brokerage company who hired Cross Country Long Distance Movers who are absolutely horrible. Please be cautious if you use either company. New Start is quick to turn the blame on others. I feel that their estimates are low balled so you fall into the trap of hiring them and get taken advantage of in the end.

On 7/2, I called and was told the movers would be there between 10am and 1pm.
When I arrived at the pick up location, I called again and was told pick-up would now be between 1 and 3 now. I then received a call from the drivers stating it would now be after 4 pm. Another call back from the drivers stating they were delayed once more and would FOR SURE be there by 5:30. They finally showed up some time after 6pm. I was also told by the broker I could pay a portion of pick up by credit card - this was NOT the case. The movers had already loaded my items when I found this out and threatened to unload my items if I could not pay. (Had I known, I would have had cash in hand!). They finally helped me pay by VENMO.
Also, when I initially called and signed the contract with them, I listed the items that would be picked up. I was told if there were any additions to just call them back. Once I finished packing, I had a few small items to add to the load. I called and was informed it would not be an issue, since I barely had enough items to make the minimum load. This was NOT the case, as the movers upon pick up mentioned several times there would be an additional charge. (The added items were a walker, crutches, a knee scooter, 2 plant stands, and a printer.) I was also informed the drivers picking up would be taking all my items to storage, and another moving company would be picking them up to be delivered. (This was news to me - was not ever mentioned when I signed up initially). On 7/7, I called to find out if I could get a ball-park eta when the items would be delivered and was told they had 14 business days to deliver.
On 7/14, I called again for an eta, and was informed the VENMO payment was showing on hold. I pulled up the VENMO and it showed 'completed' on my end as of 7/2, and the funds were removed from my bank account on 7/3. I was told I needed to call VENMO and they would call as well. I did call VENMO and was told on the receiving end there was a hold & the movers (I VENMO'd) would need to call to see when the hold would be released - VENMO could not give me this info due to 'privacy' laws. I then called for the 3rd time that day and was told the representative just didn't have a chance to call and work it out with VENMO. I am STILL waiting for my items, and a call back letting me know when & if they would be released. I will be filing a lawsuit, as well as reporting to the BBB. UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE!!!

The salesman persuaded me to sign a contract for $5000, promised me everything would make it in the move and that he was giving me additional space on the truck just in case. Even though I was concerned, and we poured over pictures and talked on the phone, he said it would all be OK. When the truck arrived, a different company, they wanted an additional $1600 to move all of the promised contents. And they would not load the truck unless I agreed to the additional $1600. When I tried to contact the sales rep at New Start Relocation, he would not take my calls, and I was given to a customer service rep, who just reiterated the need to pay an additional $1600. This is a total scam. I refused to pay their ransom money, and half of my contents were left behind because of it. Please do not use this company, they will promise you the moon and when it comes down to it, your agreed upon contract is worthless.

We contracted with New Start Relocation for our move from our house in Rockland County, NY to Bergen County, NJ (approximately 25 min distance). We were referred to them by Wheaton Moving after a great experience I had with Wheaton during an interstate move many years ago. During the intake process New Start was very thorough. They did a Face Time walk through of our 2000sq ft house and then prepared an itemized list of our belongings which was accurate. Even though we packed a lot of our stuff, we paid to have New Start pack our things. They explained how our things would be packed, peanuts, bubble wrap, picture/TV boxes for tvs, computer monitors and paintings, etc.
We contacted them multiple times prior to our move with questions and they were always responsive. We paid a $3k deposit and they informed us we would owe the balance of $4k once the movers showed up. They explained based on how many boxes were ultimately used we could owe more or less. New Start outsourced to East West Movers in Paterson, NJ and they showed up with a 28ft truck and 3 guys to move my entire house. They said the office quoted them a smaller cubic footprint and our stuff wouldn’t fit in their truck. They said it would cost $9k not $4k to pack our stuff and had to call a second truck, which ended up being a U-Haul rental. Then after 2 hours of packing they said they had to increase price to $12k especially since they were dropping half of our stuff to our storage unit and the other half to our new apartment. They said all of this should have cost $20k so we were getting a significant discount.
When our stuff arrived (at our storage unit and our new place) many things were broken or poorly packed: the arm of our teak patio chair was broken, a freestanding vanity mirror had both legs broken off, a free standing coat rack had 2 of 4 legs removed and a hook missing, the contents of our bathroom were dumped at the bottom of a garment box with clothes that fell on liquids that were leaking, our kitchen oils and vinegars leaked all over a box, my iMac computer screen packed on a cushion, wall art was also packed loose in boxes on furniture cushions and the list goes on. The most disappointing was that my teenage son’s Lego models that took hours were just thrown in a box after we were told they would be carefully wrapped and packed with peanuts. I’m also concerned that since most of my stuff is in storage I may continue to find damage once I ultimately take everything out of storage.
The movers also left some damage in the house we moved out of and left furniture that we clearly had marked “Storage.” Please beware that many of these moving companies are subcontracting out to companies that are not good and will hold your stuff hostage until you pay prices that feel made up. They know they have you in a tough spot. To add insult to injury New Start Relocation offered us $250 as reimbursement. See attached pictures of what you can expect if you contract with New Start Relocation and East West Movers.

We are disappointed with this stressful interstate move. Aside from the little communicate from New Start Relocation (once the contract was signed) as I had to reach out to NSR and to the direct moving company (All in Moving) multiple times to get info (dates, times, etc.) on our interstate move, to the multiple, expensive items damaged upon arrival—some items not even wrapped/protected (claim was submitted and got pennies back for over $2k worth of damages--their insurance is a joke), and finding out that our belongings were moved to 4 different locations/trucks (when it was only suppose to be a max of 2), I have issues with some of the missing discounts, last-minute charges, and uninformed cost increases.
I have expressed my concerns to Jacob, Sami (All in Moving), and New Start Relocation Customer Service throughout my interstate move (with no acknowledgment or resolution) about the estimates and invoices from both New Start Relocation and from "All in Moving." The estimates from both Jacob and Michael that were discussed and emailed, do not appear in the document to sign. Why? What happened to the discounts? The discounts don't appear on the "All in Moving" invoices either. Why weren't these discounts applied? Were they purposely taken off when the final docs to sign were sent? No one from NSR responded to my inquires sent and phone calls made.
The "All in Moving" invoice has a hefty $1000 charge for "Bulky Article Handling". This is such a large additional fee that was NOT mentioned by anyone at any point during the estimate, updated inventory, or even the physical in-person walk through. Instead it was added on AFTER all of our belongings were on the truck. This is not fair nor justified as we are also being charged more cubic square footage as well for these bulky items, so we were hit twice. We were not even told what items are "bulky". This is deceitful.
This concern/issue with this additional $1000 bulky item fee aside, there are other issues with the invoices from "All in Moving." The first "All in Moving" invoice that was signed by my husband was incorrectly added by "All in Moving" (a $1200 "mistake"). I was the one who had to call them out on this error. Then the second invoice was created AFTER the movers left our property without us knowing there was a second invoice being created. This invoice has additional cubic square footage added. This invoice was NOT nor verified by us. This is, again, deceitful and poorly handled. We had to go through our credit card company and file a complaint for being overcharged without written or verbal authorization.
We were expecting New Start Moving to address these issues mentioned above, but radio silence after multiple calls and emails. Moving companies will change their names or have multiple names for the reason of reviews like these. Moving is stressful enough and moving brokers and moving companies take full advantage of these situations--especially interstate moves.

This company is scamming you. They offer this amazing low price. Then they don’t show up to pickup until several hours late and it turns out that they magically under estimated your quote by a large margin. Then they won’t tell you when they deliver until right before. But if you speak to customer service you can get 100 dollars off if you don’t write a poor review.

Absolutely horrible experience!!! Oscar spoke really good and promised the world. None of which happened. Literally everything he said, was wrong. From cost to delivery to what is included etc. My price TRIPLED! Said they wouldn’t save my credit card info and went on to explain in detail why. Again not true. Carly at the office just repeats and talks over you and doesn’t care to actually be a manager and resolve situations. I would NEVER recommend using this company!

All things considered this the worst experience ever. Not not use this outfit!! They would not move us after they received deposit on June 3 and still have not refunded since the 17 June. It's now July 1

However, it’s important to clarify that the initial details required for your pickup were not provided to us at the time of booking. Once we were made aware of the specific parameters that affected your pickup, we acted promptly by canceling the move and issuing a full refund. That refund was processed on June 4th, immediately upon recognizing the logistical issue. We respectfully believe that a 1-star review may not accurately reflect the service you received. Once your move was canceled, you still had several weeks to make alternative arrangements, and we issued a full refund promptly. We did our best to address the situation fairly and in good faith.

Please, please, please do not under any circumstances use this company!!! Not only will the quote be way under what you actually pay, but they will not give you any information on where your items are or when they will actually deliver them. We were quoted $11,000. which then changed to $16,500. The day before pickup and went to $26,000 once the movers got there. Also, they didn't even have the room in the trucks for what they were charging us for, but since New Start is just a broker, they were no help at all, and we had to be out of the house that day so we couldn't go with another company. Now we are ready to have our stuff delivered and they cannot tell me where it is, when they will be loading it back on a truck or any type of time frame for delivery, just that they have 30 days from your first available date of delivery to show up and unload.
Now, if they don't deliver it in that 30 days, I have the option of giving them a call back. If you like to throw your money away and have unlimited resources to go buy all new items while waiting for your old items, and you love paying for a service that can provide you with absolutely no information at all on how or when you will receive this service, then this is the company for you!!

I wish there was such thing as a 0 star. If I’m writing this review then someone screwed me over BAD!!! I never take time for reviews but this one here was needed… to urge people not to make the same mistake I did. Oscar, you’ll get yours one day and that’s on God’s child. To play with people’s lives like this?! You’ll get yours.
To make a long story short, this company is a broker agency with agents like Oscar that do not care the length they have to go to to make you sign a contract with them. Oscar and us (my husband and I) agreed on a price which later we were charged more when the movers (which is a separate company) arrived to pick up our thing trying to leave behind things that were listed on the list of things to take. Extra things we paid for. Then while Oscar told us that our things would take no more than 3 days from the pick up day to arrive to our new house, here we are week 2 of wearing the same underwear and no update whatsoever from the movers nor Oscar who ignores my calls now. You just don’t play with ppl like that.
We’re just ready to get our things and get this nightmare over with. I took a week off my travel nursing assignment to take care of this matter based on the 3 day delivery said to me now I’m over 2 weeks in, returned to work, and now have to get back in the plane, take more days off work to come unpack whenever they decide to show up.. please save yourself the headache

A representative from New Start Relocation, Luiza, called me today to talk to me about my experience with the company when I moved from California to Charleston SC in June 2025. Before today, I have frankly gotten over that nightmare of my move. But Luiza patiently listened to my story of what happened and she apologized in behalf of her company. She told me that the company is under new management and they are reaching out to previous customers who had bad experiences with their move, and apologizing and offering some compensation for the bad experiences.
She told me that the representative who helped me before has been fired. I thought that is very noble of their management to do that, to take accountability for previous mistakes or errors and try to make it right going forward. Luiza talked to me on the phone for more than half an hour, and she never tried to rush me or dismiss my opinions. I accepted her offer of some compensation for my bad experience.
I cannot turn back time or hit a redo button to change my experience, but I felt a lot better after talking to her today, because she told me that the new management want to improve their services going forward. Moving is very stressful, and I wish for those who are about to move using moving companies to have better experiences. I am giving them, especially Luiza, 5 stars today.

I gave this company one star. If I can give a zero star, I would however there’s not a choice for that. I was having second thoughts about getting professional movers to move my very little stuff that I have from California all the way to Charleston, South Carolina. I called this company and I talked to a representative. His name is Oscar **. This man is a liar. He is just like a car salesman. He will tell you everything that was good with their company and promises you the moon and the stars. And then he underestimated my belongings and he promised me that my belongings would be delivered in 5 to 7 days, which is the reason why I chose them. So two days before the move, I was calling him because the quality control called me and they said if I added more to the original estimate, it was gonna cost me $5000 more dollars.
I have not gotten any help at all from this Oscar ** because ever since then that I tried to call him he will never answer the phone and I have left several messages and he never returned my calls. On the day of the move, first class Movers moved my stuff and they had left several of my belongings that was in the original quote because they said they did not have room because obviously this Oscar **, underestimated my cubic feet on the belongings that I told him what I have. I stuck with the original estimate because I do not want to pay anymore Money on what they are charging me.
First class Movers picked up on a Friday and I requested for my stuff to be delivered when I got to Charleston the following week on a Saturday. I got an email from first class Movers that the requested date that I put is not the guaranteed date. They said that is the start of the window which could be up to 30 days. So when I got to my apartment in Charleston, I did not have anything. I had to go to the store and spend over $1000 just to get the basic things so I can Live in this apartment that I moved into.
I called the first class movers customer service the following Monday and they said they do not have any date that they can tell me when my things would be shipped. She said it shows that it has not shipped yet, but it could take 30 days. This is such a nightmare. I do not recommend to get this New Start Relocation and frankly, I am disappointed with the first class Movers as well. The workers were really good, but the first class Movers‘ company customer service is not very helpful to me either. If I have a redo button, I would have never went with this moving company: New Start relocation and First Class movers.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My move from Cleveland to Dallas with Stanford Van Lines and New Start Relocation has been nothing short of a nightmare. What was promised as a 7-day delivery turned into more than 30 days of stress, lies, and radio silence. Let’s start with Scott from New Start Relocation – who initially came off as professional but completely disappeared the moment my items were picked up. No updates, no answers, no accountability.
Then there's Helen and the entire team at Stanford Van Lines – utterly incompetent and evasive. Every time I called, I was given different stories, promises of call-backs that never happened, and no timeline for when I could expect my belongings. I was left in a new city with no furniture, no essentials, and no idea where my things were.
To make matters worse, they tacked on an additional $2,500 over the originally agreed-upon price – with no justification. Just take it or leave it, because they knew they had my items hostage. This is extortion, plain and simple. This experience has been emotionally and financially draining. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Save yourself the heartache and choose a company with integrity. Stanford Van Lines and New Start Relocation are the worst in the business.

Overall I guess it was just ok. CONS - 1) the price changed every time I spoke with them. 2) Once they came to pick my items up - I ended up having to leave quite a bit of stuff because the fee was going up quite a bit again. 3) I had provided my delivery date - they called to change it to a day earlier (which was okay). I was told they would arrive by 11AM, so I rearranged my schedule to be available. At 10:50 I got a call that the delivery time would be 5PM. Day WASTED. 4) The delivery crew had what appeared to be a 14-15 year old with them. 5) A lot of the boxes had been broken. 6) The (kid) slammed my nightstand into the corner of the wall. 7) No follow up call on how it went. PRO only 2 items were broken.

Don’t use this service! Their communication is terrible. Pay the extra and get a quality service. We were told that that our stuff would arrive on June 4th and it didn’t arrive until 4 days later. Once we signed on with the company the sales person Jacob ghosted us. The moving company that they vendor with nickel and dimed us by an additional $1000+

I had a very unfortunate experience with this company and would not recommend their services. While their initial estimate may seem competitive compared to other moving companies, you will end up paying at least double the quoted price. The pick-up will occur after office hours, leaving you without any support to address the pricing discrepancies. The office staff will claim that the pick-up team can provide information on the expected delivery date, but this is false. You will struggle to get hold of anyone to provide this information. The delivery will be delayed by at least a week beyond the promised date. The salesperson who booked your move will disappear, and the office will inform you that they are no longer with the company. The office staff is highly unprofessional, and if you booked with this company, unfortunately, you were played.

This was the worst decision I’ve ever made. These people straight lie to you over the phone to get you to sign their contract and have you think they are the ones actually moving your stuff and it’s all baloney. They quoted me 2.5k to move my stuff and told me it would take 2-3 days to deliver. After that, my pickup date was pushed back when I needed to vacate my apartment by a specific date. When the movers arrived, I ended up having to pay over 4k for the move.
The movers damaged my apartment and it’s been about 3 weeks and I have not heard anything from the company they hired to move my stuff nor they answer any phone calls. They told me it can take up to 14 business days now and I have NOTHING at my new apartment after having to spend a fortune for the movers. Currently sleeping on the floor this whole time and eating ramen noodles because I don’t have anything to cook with. This is a living hell. I will NEVER hire movers again in my life. I should work for these people, all I would have to do is lie to everyone and have many contracts signed. I cannot stress enough how horrible this experience has been.

Do NOT use this company for your move. They are a brokerage firm and hire the movers for you first of all so you’re paying for a middle man. Second of all, they take absolutely no responsibility and are extremely unhelpful and lie constantly. They were not transparent at ALL about what delivery dates would look like and made it seem like we would agree on a date and my items would be delivered on that date or within a reasonable window when we were making the sale. Well I have moved and it has been TWO WEEKS since my items were picked up and I still have nothing and no clue where my things are.
Every time I call they bs me and tell me a day or two. On Monday they said for CERTAIN 2-4 days and the movers would call me within 24-48 hours. Well tomorrow is Friday and still no call. I called today and their customer service was no help at all. They do not care. Save yourself the stress. If I could go back I’d just drive a U-Haul across the country. This is cruel to put someone through this and lie about what your business provides. I have to go to work and I have none of my things.

The best I can say is the New Start Relocation got my move to my destination. The final cost was over 50% over their quote. Everyone charged you something extra along the way. This company cared more about their local suppliers than their customer. They were never clear on any communication with us or took any responsibility for it. The sales people are not upfront at all.

I can NOT leave a bad enough review. This company was absolutely HORRENDOUS. First I got a quote of 1900. Awesome! Then I was told they would pick my belongings up on a certain day between 2 and 6. No communication or update until I called them and after 3 attempts finally reach a person. Then they tell me their pick up guy is running late. And he won't be there between 7 and 9. I asked if I could sign a POA as I needed to leave that day. They sent me the paperwork to do so. Well they didn't show up till 10 pm. When I had my initial phone quote they asked if I lived upstairs and told me there would be a fee for that. Okay, cool. I made my initial payment including that fee over the phone the day I hired them. When they showed up to my place they told my husband he needed to move all the furniture down the stairs and he HAD to pay them under the table if he wanted them to help.
THIS WAS LITERALLY INCLUDED IN THE INITIAL PAYMENT. I was also told I would have my belongings in a week. Well surprise surprise that was another lie. They also tell my husband when they're over it will be 9 to 21 business days till I have my belongings. Fast forward to the day before I'm suppose to have my belongings they tell me I'm SOL. When I bring up to the person I called what happened with my husband they tell me well that's the owners best friends or son or something and he wouldn't do that. WELL HE DID!! They then proved to add 100 bogus charges. My original apartment didn't work out and I was moving THREE POINT ONE miles away. They tried tacking on a charge for moving greater than 10 miles from the original location?!? Then they told me they were moving a lot of other people's belongings and they had a 75 foot trailer. Newsflash they don't make 75 foot trailers!
They tell me I have to cover the expense for them to get a rental truck so they can bring it into my apartment complexes because their semi won't fit. I asked my leasing office about this and I was told they have semis all day long in and out and even have parking for the semis!! When I relay this information MAGICALLY the guy has a friend who conveniently lives in the same apartments and tells me I'm a liar. When I call him out on it he goes well he lives in the same city. I don't know about y'all but I have lived in decent cities most my life just like the one I am in now.. there are so many apartment complexes it's dang near impossible to know every name let alone the layout of the streets inside the apartment complexes. I had a bunch if sentimental things they were moving. Things that belonged to my child when he was an infant. So of course I was going to pay whatever at this point.
Well they end up ripping me off so bad I pay an extra thousand dollars! When they FINALLY drop my belonging off after moving my delivery date FOUR times most of my furniture is broken. How they manage to break straight metal is beyond me but they took absolutely no regard of my belongings. This is THE WORST company to ever hire. If it seems cheaper at first and that's why you do it don't worry they make their money back by ripping you off in other ways. Uhaul is honestly cheaper after they're done with you. Oh and guess what?! No compensation on my belongings either. Absolutely HORRIBLE from start to finish. Don't worry New Start Relocation if you want to keep up your shady behavior and take my comment down I'll make sure to put this up every day so everyone knows.

Well the guys showed up on time and was very friendly. The 1 star is for the guys that came and loaded. They called the storage facility several times the day before they came to deliver. And what an experience that was. Just the driver- no help at all. We had to find someone to help this guy unload our stuff. Very unprofessional in my opinion. The driver had no reason to be calling the storage company. Would I recommend them to anyone - No, No, No!

DO NOT USE THEM! Complete scam. Guy on the phone said “just tell me your large items and don’t overthink it”. I specifically said it was 2 storage units 20x10. Then the movers come 2 hours after the quoted window and revise the estimate $2000 higher. Will never use their service again.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Do not use if you want to have your things arrive on time (even within weeks), undamaged and within the price you were quoted. Oh and if you want to be treated with any kind of respect or general courtesy or common decency. My experience emphasizes the MANY (!!) 1 star REAL reviews here. Do not believe the fake ones which were probably written by staff to help with the numerous awful (true) ones.
I was overcharged (by a LOT - almost double) throughout the process, despite being reassured on the day I gave the deposit that I had probably overestimated and would receive a refund. Ha. Just ridiculous the lies they will tell you to take your deposit. And like someone here said they will laugh amongst themselves and belittle you, treat you so disgracefully and disrespectfully once they have your deposit. Honestly the most unprofessional company I’ve ever had the displeasure of handing money to.
I was told my belongings would arrive on a certain date (the reason I went with them as I was under a time crunch) and then later told “oh absolutely not. That’s all in the small print that we have up 21 BUSINESS days to deliver“ (which of course is over a month!). Utterly pathetic that they treat their customers this way. I kick myself every day for not going with another company who would have charged slightly more (but in reality actually less now based on what I ended up paying - at least that company wasn’t going to try do any dirty tactics like these guys).
I was pressured into signing the paperwork in order to “get my shipment started to deliver next Friday” (Michael who took my deposit told me this) after that I of course was told the reality (by the rudest most condescending people in their office once they have your money) that it would in fact be many more weeks. Now of course I should have gone over the small print with a fine tooth comb, but the agent Michael was very convincing that my things would arrive next Friday and quoted their many great reviews which I now see as being fake along with every other reassurance.
They are a broker and once they have your deposit they laugh and ridicule you, hang up on you, talk over you, just be downright nasty and rude. Plus after me supposedly (according to them) over estimating my sq footage (it’s a storage unit so there’s an exact space allocated!!) and being told not to worry (lol), I was then told by the movers the items were way more sq footage (again despite supposedly over estimating and giving exact measurements). Had to pay almost double as they hold your things hostage. Then the movers couldn’t make it up a hill and tried to charge an additional $1200 on TOP of the already double original quote. We ended up having to rent a truck to do it ourselves. Many items were also broken upon receipt. Weeks late. Just awful company. To summarize, the most rude, unpleasant, unprofessional and appalling company ever. Broken belongings, overcharged, late. Avoid at all costs.

To the over 200 people who left New Start Relocation a one-star review: I owe you an apology. You were absolutely right! I should have listened. But I didn’t—and now I’ve paid for that mistake, literally and painfully. I’ve used multiple moving companies over the last decade. I’ve moved across states—from Indianapolis to Jackson, to Miami, to Springfield. Every move had its hiccups, sure—but nothing prepared me for the spectacular disaster that is New Scam Relocation. They’re not just bad. They’re in a league of their own—and the league is called Fraud & Failure.
Let me be clear: this company is nothing more than a group of morons. They are either completely incompetent or a full-blown scam operation wrapped in a paper-thin disguise of legitimacy. Actually, let’s stop pretending—it’s both. The communication? Abysmal. Laughable. Insulting. I’ve attached an actual screenshot of a text exchange with one of their so-called “customer service reps” to prove just how low the bar is over there. After receiving one of the most ridiculous, unprofessional messages I’ve ever seen, I called them—only to have some guy named Jamie proudly suggest the solution was to… stop texting me. Brilliant! When you're coordinating a move, what better way to solve miscommunication than to eliminate communication altogether?
Once they have your signature and your deposit, you are completely on your own. If anything goes sideways—and believe me, it will—you’ll be left scrambling to handle it yourself. Issues with the movers? The vehicle carrier? Good luck. They vanish like roaches when the lights come on. As for the estimate? Forget it. It's a classic bait-and-switch. They give you a “nice” number upfront. You sign. Then, halfway through the move, surprise! It’s magically $2,500 more. At that point, you’re trapped—either you pay or your stuff doesn’t move. That’s not business—that’s extortion. And it doesn’t end there. Car transport? Nightmare. Unloading? A complete joke. Customer service? Non-existent. Once they have your credit card for the deposit, the rest is cash only—because of course it is. No paper trail. No accountability. No decency.
This company is not just bad at moving—they are a masterclass in total incompetence, unethical practices, and bottom-of-the-barrel service. I wouldn’t trust them to move a trash bag, let alone my life’s belongings. When I tell you they treated our belonging like garbage, I mean that in the literal sense. They put my wife's hanging clothes in the bottom of a large box and then literally dumped bathroom products on top of them! I'm talking about toothpaste, fingernail polish remover, and bathroom cleaners on top of clothes!! Who does this??
To anyone considering using them: run. Don’t walk. Run far, far away. Unless your dream is to be overcharged, ignored, lied to, and robbed blind, do not go anywhere near New Scam Relocation. I’m currently trying to figure out if I can sue them. I’m not a lawyer, but I’m ready to find one, because what they’re doing shouldn’t just be called a “bad experience”—it should be illegal. *DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.* They prey and take advantage of military families. Their estimates are not accurate even when a step-by-step recording is provided over the phone. They are shady and do not include a lot of items necessary for moving in their estimate (such as moving blankets that belong and stay with the movers). Then, it took them three weeks to receive a call back when the estimate DOUBLED in price the day the movers came to pick everything up (which was also a day late). Customer service is abysmal as Jaime (male) called to yell at us and say the movers would not lie (they added stuff in the master packing list to charge more as it was a military move-there is incentive to do this and if the added items on the list were actually correct, I would have a lot more stuff in my possession now).
We called New Start Relocation multiple times in the span of three weeks, and they kept saying they'd get back to us which they never did until today (again, only to say yell at us and repeat the master list to us - not necessary we had copies and that was NOT the problem). When the items arrived a lot of our furniture was broken, and multiple items were never even DELIVERED! Now, we have to go through claims to get them either replaced or money back. Horrible experience. Horrible company.

I would not recommend this company. Every new "estimate" grows costing additional thousands of dollars. They hire subcontractors and those have the worst customer services skills in the world. This process has been very frustrating. They never knew where my items were throughout the entire process and they were unable to uphold their side of the contract to deliver in 8 business days. They do not answer the phone and they are unwilling to work with their customers. The term customer service is not in this company's business model. I would highly suggest choosing anyone else. This has been the most frustrating experience and my items are still nowhere to be found. Might I add that it was a 4 hour drive to my new location so there should have been no issues at all. With the lack of communication and knowledge of where customers' lives loaded up in a truck are from this company, I'm surprised they're still in business..

The experience we had with this company was a nightmare. Yes, they are very helpful and accommodating when getting you to sign their contract for service. Beware!!!! As told I would be contacted the day before a pickup date to confirm the date and time. Didn't happen. The contract they have with the company to pick up your items called and said the pickup was scheduled the next day which was not supposed to happened for 2 days. I told this company this was not possible as we were still packing and the original agreement was pickup for June 2 or June 3 - not June 1. When I objected I was told to call New Start about the change of dates. It was a weekend - they are not available on weekends and was connected with someone supposedly with New Start. I called to try and resolve the incorrect dates of pickup. Keep in mind that moving is a very stressful, especially when moving to another state.
I told the person on call at New Start that moving up the pickup date was not possible. We were not ready. He put the question to me "you can't do the pickup tomorrow?" I said, with a little edge in my voice due to the circumstances, "No, we can't do that." He Hung Up on Me!! This was the employee at New Start whose job it was to assist me with the issue of early pickup. I texted this person back and stated that his customer service skills were not appropriate. He texted me back saying that I was bullying him and did not appreciate being called on his personal cell phone and talking with the panicky tone.
The next day I was being texted and called by several different employees at New Start wanting to schedule the pickup. It was too late. As I was at a loss as what I needed to do since I could not talk and/or resolve the situation of early pickup because I was hung up on. I texted the original sales person and told them that I needed to cancel their services because they did not hold up their end of the deal AND was hung and unable to resolve the situation. Consequently, I needed to act quickly because we had to be out of our house which was sold. I had to rent a U haul immediately because of the inability to resolve any issues and could not wait until Monday to talk to someone that didn't hang up on me or refuse to communicate.
I called on Monday morning and informed them that I could not wait and had to rent a U-haul and would like to cancel their services. The person on the phone was extremely rude, talked over me, and said billing would send me an email asking me to sign a statement and agree to any cancellation charges and discuss payment refund.! I got the email and had questions as to why they were keeping $1681 due to my cancellation. I called 2 more times and asked to speak with billing or a supervisor/manager and they refused to connect me to anyone. Both times I called the person was rude. I was denied access discuss the situation that led to my cancellation.
I am filing a complaint with Consumer Affairs, Better Business Bureau, and any other organization I can to stop this company from continuing horrid business practices and not being given access to talk to anyone except the person who answers the phone. This company is a SCAM and needs to be held responsible for their deceitful and disgusting business practices.

Needless to say, after we gave them our initial down payment, they decided to over double the amount, now I have to get a lawyer. Horrible company and experience. This company is just a broker who will send anyone to your home and if something goes wrong, they completely ghost you and provide zero help. They have awful customer service once you book with them. They are great until they get your money. My original quote was $6000 and I paid over $11,000 for my move. If you don’t pay it, they hold your belongings hostage. The company they contracted did around $9,000 in damages to my belongings, some of which I’ll never be able to replace. I wish I could upload all of the photos, but there is not enough space

First of all I want to warn that this is a moving broker, not an actual moving company. They quoted me one price and it more than doubled when the movers came. They are incompetent at estimating your total cubic feet of furniture. They estimated 2200’ and the mover said it was actually 3300”. That made the price go up another $4000! They also said they were sending a 30’ truck. Nope, a 26’ truck which barely fit any of my furniture and none of the 100+ boxes we had. Storage fees, beware. I was quoted $250/month. Then I was told $1100 a month!! So, I am being charged $11,000 and still have to pay more movers to come pick up the rest.
I learned too late that it’s best to use an actual moving company and skip the brokers. Almost half of that $11,000 went to the broker! Even though they had a detailed list of every item being moved and said it was no problem, Due to their incompetence it was a Huge Problem for us! Horrible company. I was quotes extremely low for my move when I actually didn't even know we were working with a broker. We thought they were the moving company but no, they bid our work out and they chose a horrible moving company for us. US Safe Moving out of Las Vegas. The communication with this company was awful. I'd call and not receive a call back. The moving quote was extremely off even though I told them all the furniture and boxes I would be moving. I even ended up selling a large quantity of the big furniture before the movers even showed up. What I was told by this company was completely different when the movers showed up. They took my items and drove them to a warehouse in Las Vegas. Apparently they had to wait to have another job to the state I moved to. This was never told to me.
I feel extremely used by this company. I cried several times because of all the issues I dealt with. This company does not care about their customers one bit. I was supposed to be excited about the move and my new life in a different state but all this company did was cause anxiety and tears. The biggest problem I have is the amount I paid versus the amount I paid in the end. Huge unexpected costs that were out of my hands. I now am dealing with the moving company with a claim of all my items that were damaged in my move. This whole process was a nightmare and I wish we just did the move ourselves. I will make sure none of my friends or family ever use this company or the company that moved our things. I will make sure to write reviews and comments where I can to warn other people.

If you have an alternative, please don’t use New Start. Customer service and satisfaction is an alien concept to these guys. I moved from Atlanta to Charlotte. Went through an inventory twice. These guys will nickel and dime you. Signed up for 50 boxes. They counted an iron board and iron box as two pieces. Coffee table and the glass top as two pieces. Small bags like a backpack, they wanted to count. A small wire rack, about 2-3 pounds in weight, counted as an item. I ended up moving about 20% of my stuff on my own. All they wanted to do was charge another $300.
My dining chair had its legs broken in a prior move. I asked them to disassemble the legs off the table and they refused. I disassembled them myself. I had a few more stairs than the fine print. They added another $225. New Start said the vendor (Source 1) would bubble wrap furniture. The movers didn’t bring any. On the receiving end, I was moving to a storage unit. So no stairs, unpacking or installation. Yet these guys wanted to charge $125 more because the unit was a few feet more away than the 75 feet. I ended up moving most of the boxes into the storage unit myself. Over the past 40 years, I have moved 8 times, including twice internationally. This has been, by far, the worst experience.

The experience I had with this company with a nightmare. The customer service would not listen, they did not do what they claim, and we had to cancel when the third-party arrived. I would not trust this company to do anything! We are pursuing legal options. Person that convinced me to use them was no longer available to speak to me ever, after I paid $2900! A very, very bad business deal, and I learned a very hard lesson. Do not let them scam you!

The move was smooth and easy! They wrapped up all my furniture and made sure all the boxes were secured. I chatted with them days leading up to the move as well to confirm details. The day of went smoothly and they came prepared with tape and boxes for my fragile items as well.

I have to give a big shout out to my main man Jon! This guy is incredible from start to finish. Fielding calls late night answering thousands of questions from myself and wife Roxanne (mainly Roxy). I know we were a major pain but we made the decision to go with New Start and we are very satisfied. We had five bedrooms with very heavy antique wood furniture along with quite a bit of large glass artifacts along with some appliances and a very heavy pool table amongst other things. All moved from West Texas to Florida without a hitch. Other than a tiny scratch on a toy chest every single thing made it in absolutely pristine condition. I am eternally grateful to all the staff at New start for all of their help coordinating this move for us. I very highly recommend!

Great Move experience with Max and his helper Akyl. They took good care of everything, wrapped all furniture with blankets and packed all TVs in the boxes very professionally. I was surprised how quick they got this done. Arrived on time and worked very hard. I will Look forward to arranging delivery.

I spoke with this moving company while planning a cross-country move and I can can't warn people enough to stay away from this company. The sales rep I spoke with was very friendly and professional and they provided a competitive quote. Once you sign the contract, that is where the problems begin. I was told the movers would be at my place on a Friday and I would be contacted 5-7 days before the date to confirm details. Fast forward to the date of loading and I had not heard from anyone. I contacted the company and was told they wouldn't be there until late in the day on Saturday (I had originally planned to leave on Saturday morning and had to push everything back to accommodate).
When the truck did arrive, there were two people who rushed me through some paperwork and asked me to confirm the delivery date, which I did multiple times on a document that I have yet to receive a copy of despite being promised by multiple people that I would receive one. One of the people who was there to load spoke no English and the other person spoke a very minimal amount of English - no shade, it just made the situation much more confusing because they were unable to answer any questions I had. The one who could speak a little English told me I had too much stuff and stuck his cellphone in my hand. I spoke to another non-English speaker who said that my allocated space was much less than what I actually had in the apartment (despite being sure not to overpack) and sticking to the original inventory as closely as possible.
Meanwhile, the person on the phone was unable to give me a new quote until the truck was loaded, but I was assured that the additional cost would be not be substantially higher. Truck gets loaded and guy hands me his phone again. Person I talked to previously says that my new quote is almost double my original quote and it was calculated by looking at a photo texted to him by the people loading the truck. Essentially they load the truck, snap a photo, and make a guess about how much space it takes in the truck. Being surprised by this new amount, I contacted New Start where I spoke to a rep who was very rude and told me that's how it works and if I don't want them to take my belongings I can have them unload. Having no other option, I had to pay a substantial amount at that immediate moment, but was told for the first time that the payment must be in cash or Postal Money Order.
I had expected to pay with a credit card and was adamantly told I could not pay with a card. When I said I had nowhere near that amount of cash on hand and no possibility of getting a Postal money order at 7:30p on a Saturday night, I was given the option to pay electronically through Zelle. I was told I would receive a copy of my paperwork and the loading crew left. Being concerned about the loading process and how the revised quote was devised, I called and spoke with another person at New Start about my concerns. The individual I talked to was as condescending and disinterested as the previous customer service rep and didn't acknowledge my concerns at all. He promised me he would review the estimate and call me back as well as send me a copy since I had not received one. I have yet to have any follow-up communication with that person.
Fast forward almost a month and I got a phone call about delivery and I am told that the delivery date I specified multiple times was not an actual delivery date, but an "earliest delivery date" with actual delivery likely being 5-7 days later. My family had planned our entire move around our arrival date and two days before we arrive at our new place we find out that we will have no furniture or belongings for up to an additional week. When I stated that I had made it clear I needed items delivered on the specific date I listed in the loading paperwork and that nobody had indicated actual delivery would be up to a week later, I was told that I "must have misunderstood" and that I "don't understand" how things work. Now my family is scrambling to figure out what to do as we still have no set delivery date for our items and we are due to be in another state within 48 hours.
So, here's what I have learned about this company: their entire business model is a bait-and-switch process. They dramatically underquote the actual cost of the move and tell you what they think you want to hear to get you locked into a contract. They intentionally withhold information to keep you from cancelling the contract prior to loading. They rush the loading process to get you in a situation where one has no other viable option beyond paying their new accurate quote - the quote you should have gotten in the first place, but didn't because you'd have rented a U-Haul. They subcontract the actual work to other local companies and couriers who have no skin in the game and only want to get paid.
There is zero accountability along the way and if you call with questions or concerns, you are treated like an idiot. This company is absolutely horrible and I would never recommend them. (I would love to add a receipt to this review so it would be "verified," but I have yet to receive one for the money I gave them at loading).

Terrible service so far and they haven’t even picked up my stuff. I called for almost two months straight and was unable to speak to anyone to get answers for my move, we were left completely in the dark until 2 days prior to our move which is today. For the almost two months I tried to contacting them I was hung up on multiple times for no reason, the customer service employees were rude and useless. I finally talked to someone named James today who apologized for the whole ordeal and assured me that I would be taken care of so we will see. My things are supposed to get picked up in two days. And delivered by the 28th.
I did have to pay more Money down because they said since I couldn’t get in touch with anyone prior today they would keep my deposit even though it is completely their fault that I was not able to speak with anyone until today. I wish I had never booked with this company it has been nothing but head aches and raising prices when we have the same amount of stuff I was quoted on initially the sales rep never entered my correct sq footage and gave me a much lower quote in order to get my business. I was assured the sales rep had been suspended for being dishonest.

This has been one of the worst experiences I have dealt with. I originally called for a quote and went over 80% of the things that I had in my apartment. I gave all the big items in the correct quantities and explained in detail some of the other larger items that I had. I got quoted a price and it seemed fair so I approved to pay for half the quoted price and then the other half at time of move. Two+ weeks go by, radio silence till I get an email saying your move in coming up, here are the guidelines and your items.
When I read the quote, several large items were missing from it like an electric fireplace. Also, they will not allow items in trash bags and I had stated previously I put a pillow collection in trash bags and it was just quoted as individual pillows. My moving expert called me the week before my move and while she was nice, she asked all the questions that should have been asked in my moving quote. I was asked before, what size bed, 2 queens. She asked if my beds had headboards, footboards and mattress. Also the original quote never had an electric fireplace so she added it as a mantel piece.
Other odds and ends I knew would explain the sq footage needed but not over 300 and $1200 more than quoted. I was told I would be called the day before they would be here and got a call on Saturday the 17th which I missed because it came in at 7:38 pm MST. They left a message saying the movers would be here tomorrow May 19th between 8-11 am. Sunday 11 am, I call and ask where the truck is and they say, no, the movers are scheduled for Monday the 19th. I ask why you said tomorrow and they gave a nonchalant answer of "ohh yeah, I can see how it would be confusing". So here I am on Monday and I get a call the truck won't be here till 1-5 pm, DOT held them up. I have moved 5 times in 8 years and this has been the worst experience and they still haven't picked up or dropped off my things yet... Not looking forward to when they actually manage to get here.

I do NOT recommend using moving brokers. New Start Relocation originally came recommended, but I am beyond frustrated and disappointed with my whole experience! Nothing happened according to what I was originally told by the representative, Jonathan, when I booked with New Start Relocation in mid-April 2025. To be clear, they are not the moving company but only a broker who coordinates with local moving companies on your behalf. In short, Jonathan’s rundown of how the move would go was not how it went, and when asked during follow ups (via voicemail as he didn't answer his phone), he either did not return my phone call or he had someone else in his company call to speak with me and my wife instead. Very unprofessional.
In short, he did not accurately include all of the items and boxes in our moving quote. When I verified with him on the initial phone call when booking, specifically about the boxes not being on the sheet, he stated it is not a problem, 100 boxes are included in the estimate. When Michael from QA called before the moving date, we found out that the information was wrong, and they had to add the boxes in then. This, of course, drastically increased our moving price.
Michael tried his best to do the right thing and provided a discount off the total, but it was still significantly more than originally discussed. Though we would find out this was not the last time this would happen during this process. Further, Jonathan told us our moving day would be on the Monday we chose, and the second day in the two-day window would only be used if weather-related issues delayed the movers. We would also find out that this was inaccurate information. They two day window is just a two day window where they can come any time during that window, period.
On the day of the move, we were then told by the actual moving company, New Start Relocation, again inaccurately determined the square footage of the space needed, which would again increase the total cost. Further, Jonathan told us credit cards would be accepted, but the moving company only took cash or a money order. When I asked if this was a common occurrence, the mover told me the at unfortunately, his experience with brokers is that they all too often under quote and by they time they get to him, he has to break the news the cost is more leaving the customer with little to no other options than to pay so their move can occur on the timeline they need.
Overall, Jonathan and New Start Relocation seem to be out only for the sale/money rather than an accurate and tailored customer experience. The information provided was a misrepresentation of what was actually available for the movers they brokered for us. At this point in their existence as a company, they should know better of what services are provided, or at the very least, let the customer know what to expect only after they’ve confirmed with the moving company they contracted out with for that move. Better to just book directly with the moving company and avoid the headache of misinformation and unprofessionalism from a moving broker.

Do NOT use New Start Relocation. I used them to move three boxes and a dining room set from Nebraska to Florida in February 2025. Somehow the moving company they subcontracted my move to lost one of the boxes. The customer service and claims process for the missing box was a complete nightmare. They were more than happy to take my money when booking the move but after the move was completed they could care less. When I contacted them in May to find out the status of my settlement check, I was told by a customer service representative that I'd need to work with the third party claims company that handles their claims. I was given a telephone number for the claims company.
When I called the number I got a recorded message that the claims company only processes the claims, it doesn't issue settlement checks. I would need to contact the service provider about my check. So, I contacted New Start Relocation customer service again to let them know what I was told by the claims company. I also referred them to an email I received from the claims company explaining in writing that the claims company only process claims, it doesn't issue checks. The claims settlement checks are issued by the service provider. I received an email the following day from New Start Relocation customer service restating that they have nothing to do with claims and that I'd have to contact the claims company. Do NOT use New Start Relocation.

Moving is one of the most difficult things humans do. So their being attentive and fun to work with are necessary aspects of my pleasure. Just moved next door, and these crew were awesome to work with. They came on time, knowledgeable, and extremely beneficial. It was the little things, like comprehend the maker of a piece of furniture, and noticing keys and cash that should perhaps not go into storage. But my big consequence from this event was that they asked lots of questions about what I needed, and had lots of experience to share. Communication is a vital characteristic of a smooth move for me. I recently moved from Newark, NJ to Miami, FL two weeks ago, relocating a 5-bedroom house filled with valuable items. The moving company did an outstanding job! The team was professional, efficient, and handled all my belongings, including high-value items, with great care. No damages or issues to report—everything arrived in perfect condition. Nothing but lies from this company. Starting with Jonathon ** telling us that we can leave clothing in drawers for the move. He also quoted moving a motorcycle saying that they would crate it 3 days in advance and it would be loaded on the truck. The quote then came with it being bulk, meaning that it would just be strapped in. Then on to Suzy ** who continued the lying and covering for Jonathon. I asked for the sales manager and given an email for Daniel H. I am still waiting to hear from this person, it there is any such person at this company. READ everything before signing electronically and giving them a deposit, What they tell you verbally is not what is in writing. They are brokers. You are better to go directly with the moving company.

They came to get my stuff April 19th with a requested delivery of April 22, the next Monday. Several phone calls, several text messages and now, they show it was delivered and it was not! They are keeping my stuff and not giving me information as to when I will get it. First time using a moving service and I'll never do it again. No communication, no help when you call. Ridiculously bad customer service. And ironically, I can no longer get to my contract and when I asked for it to be sent two days ago, NOTHING! They can tell me NOTHING!

The beginning of my experience was great. Hugo, the Senior Relocation Specialist, gave me a great quote for my move from Nebraska to California. Especially with the amount of things I listed that needed to be moved to the West Coast. I was quoted $2.8k and he was very easy to talk to. Fast forward to a few weeks later, a few days before my scheduled pick up, I was contacted by Michael and asked for images of all the items that will be moved. After sending him the images, that’s when things went south. He mentioned that they didn’t expect to have that much items on the image, despite after giving them a list of everything that will be moved.
My bill then went from $2.8k to over $4k because they had to make sure there is enough space for all of my belongings. I then signed and made another deposit. But hey, at least they were quick to move in that scenario to avoid any further delays. Then come the day of the pick up. I was told that the movers will arrive between 9a-12:30p and that they will call me when they are about an hour away that day, but didn’t get a call between those times. I then reached out to both Hugo and Michael and did not get any response. Those guys are amazing at their work when it comes to getting money, but once they get the money, they disappear. Never heard from both of them ever again.
Luckily, I was able to get in touch with their customer support, and neither the support didn’t have any idea when the movers will arrive. I then got a call from the movers at around 2:30p that day and said that they will be able to pick it up at around 5-6p that evening. Guess what, they didn’t come in until 6:20a the next day! On top of that, once the movers saw all the items that needed to be moved, they said that the estimate given to them by Hugo and Michael were incorrect and that I had so many things. So from $4k it went up to $7.5k. At this point, I didn’t have any other choice as I had to catch a flight at 8 am that morning to leave town for good. Overall, terrible experience. I do not recommend this company. I will give 0 stars if that was an option. You think they are so wonderful to work with. They do a great job when it comes to taking your money but leave you hanging once they got your money. Keep shopping for movers if you’re planning on hiring one.

Christian and Ivan are definitely good salesman. They could tell I was hesitant about all of this. I even ask about them being a broker and was told no they weren’t a broker. I booked enough space on the truck for two bedroom to make sure that I would have ample space and not have them show up and then be told a different price which was exactly what happened. I have broken things. Movers showed up price quadrupled. Now I have broken things. Boxes smashed. They wouldn’t even speak to me. Once they gave me the quote and received their money. They were quick to transfer me to someone else. Please please don’t make the same mistake that I did. Do not fall for their sales pitch. This company is a joke from the star. They are a joke. Do not fall for them.

I didn't want to leave them a review knowing it would be negative but I reached the last straw when I discovered things missing (topper is that my bike is now damaged beyond repair- and of course they didn't bother to tell me). I don't know if it's the fault of New Start Relocation or the movers they hired- Stanford Moving Company- but the move was awful. I didn't realize New start is a broker - its just better to find your own local movers. You feel a little more in control. So working with New Start is fine, it's the movers they hired that was a hellish experience. Where to begin, oh where to begin?
First of all, it was just 2 people who came to move an entire house. It took ALL day. They were saying they would have to go into the next day but I told them I HAVE to be out of the house by midnight. Needless to say, it was a very late night. They were not friendly at all. One was just plain rude the entire time. They tracked in mud and dirt all over the house, and used up all the toilet paper! One even walked in on me going to the bathroom!! The next day was just as fun. They wouldn't unload until they were paid in cash for the final installment.
I was going to use Venmo but found out venmo has a $2,000 limit and the final installment was more than that. So I had to scramble which added unnecessary stupid stress on an already stressful situation. I finally got them the payment after noon. They did the same thing to my new house, tracked in mud and dirt. Fortunately no one walked in on me in the bathroom this time. God be praised. But they just threw boxes where ever. Towards the end they just put boxes in one spot regardless of the room that it was labeled for. The next day I spent more time moving boxes to the correct location and having to clean up after them. It ended up costing me about $10,000 that a couple of randos off the street would have done a better job. Please go with reputable movers like Mayflower or 2 guys and a truck. They are required to be more responsible and professional.

The people that they sent upped the price on me day of, then when they delivered lots of stuff was missing. I still cannot get in contact with anyone from New Start or one of the third parties. Awful.

Before you book with New Start Relocation READ THIS: They offered me a quote with a BINDING estimate, meaning they have to give me that price unless I add more stuff. On move day they showed up and told me I had more stuff so they would have to give me a different price which was about 50% more than the original quote. When they filled the truck, it was only filled 30-40% to the top, which means my original number (which they AND their “quality assurance” team had originally agreed was accurate!) was accurate.
When I tried to dispute the new cost, they told me I was “lucky they weren’t coming to my house to get more money” and that federal regulations said they could not efficiently pack the truck. If you move with them, be prepared to either pay way more or move yourself on move day. Do NOT trust them! They deliberately low-ball you so that you are relying on them on move-out day and then raise the price when you are desperate. I will be filing a complaint with the FMSCA and possibly legal action.

This is lengthy, hopefully it will help from being deceived!! Don't even consider using them for many reasons: Found out they are a broker company & will lie/deceive to get your business. They totally took advantage of us without disclosing they were a broker company. They never told us the name of the company moving us which was Eagle Moving & was also their company under a different name. Not knowing that, we were unable to read reviews which we later found out were horrible. After much investigation and contacting the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, we found several complaints had been issued against them.
2. Inconsistent pricing - we were quoted one price & move ended up costing triple. Spoke with 3 different sales people & each one told me something different. The last guy called the evening before the movers came asking if I wanted to guarantee a larger percentage of the truck as my reservation was at 18% & if more of the truck was required, when they arrived, the price increase would be at a premium. He was offering a discounted price & said we could reserve the space-if we didn't use it, they would refund the difference.
We reserved 40% of the truck with the price being a little over $3,000 & we could get the movers to show us the 40% of the truck. We did a Face TIme call so he could see the amount of items we were moving. He said 40% should work & probably would be less. When the movers got there, they had no idea what I was talking about that they based the move on cubic feet - the price went up to $5,000 after they got the majority of the stuff loaded and said if we didn't pay they would unload the truck. We were being taken advantage of. Called the company, asked for a manager to be told there wasn't one available, but she would try to advocate on our behalf. Tried calling the guy that told us about the % of the truck, no answer and no text back. We were in a bind with no choice but to proceed.
3. At the beginning of the conversation to hire this company, I stated the furniture had to be in Texas no later than Sunday, April 27 & wanted delivery on the 26th. They assured me this was not a problem which was the reason we contracted with them. They picked up on Thursday, April 24th & the movers left us with the impression they were the ones taking the furniture to Texas. Due to us having Apple AirTags on some stuff, we found out that the truck was sitting in a warehouse in Birmingham, Alabama on Friday.
On Saturday when the truck was still showing it was in Birmingham, I texted the driver that had picked up our stuff to find out he wasn't the one taking the stuff to Plano, Texas from Augusta, Georgia. He said our stuff would be loaded onto another truck & it could be 14-21 days before it got to Texas. I called the after hours service & was told that they never guaranteed arrival on the days that I had given them. After much discussion, the service person called & said the truck would be reloaded on Sunday & delivery would be 1-3 days after that. Again, I told her that was not what I was told & explained that my son & daughter in law had jobs that required travel & no one would be home. She said we'd have to make arrangements & that was our problem-if no one was there when delivered they would leave & we would be charged a redelivery fee.
4. We were told by the driver that was going to deliver the load that they required cash payment or a postal check upon delivery for the balance before they would unload the furniture or they would leave with the furniture. I again called customer service after the driver called my son telling him they would be delivering the furniture on the 27th, but again stated cash on delivery. When I called, I received a text stating she had already helped me & that they were closed to call back on Monday (note: they state they have 24/7 customer service). I sent her another text telling her what the driver said & asked who has a large amount of cash laying around! What kind of company requires payment of cash to someone they've never seen or heard of - how were we guaranteed they wouldn't take the cash & then say we hadn't paid. Reading info about moving, one thing that was stated over and over is do not pay cash.
6. The furniture was delivered & there were broken items. One additional thing, the second guy I spoke with at New Start said not to worry about added insurance as we were covered & that we wouldn't need additional insurance only to find out too late that they only paid $.60 per pound for any damaged item.
