I was moving locations which was about 20 miles and I researched three companies. American Van Lines was the most prompt in returning calls and in information follow-up. The crew were good guys and very forthcoming. There was one item broken during the move but they didn’t try to hide it. I had three different guys who apologized. Accidents happen and I'm in the process of getting estimates for that claim but that’s the only transaction I still have pending. Overall, I’m very satisfied. The experience was good and swift.

I decided to relocate to another area of North Carolina and got two box trucks from American Van Lines. The breadth of services they offered and the ability to get them in a timely fashion were the reasons I decided to work with them. Everyone that I worked with was really professional and very good to work with. The moving crew moved very quickly through everything.

The salesperson at American Van Lines was great and the coordinator was very detail-oriented. She called me all the way when my mover was getting to the final destination. We moved from Florida to North Carolina and it was over 5,000 pounds. The movers were nice guys and they were very helpful. The service and the price were pretty good. It was very competitive.

I was moving 400 miles for my 90-year-old father who was living alone and researched movers online. American Van Lines' service was the determining factor of why I chose them. The rep was great and the moving crew was wonderful. I enjoyed working with them very much.

I talked to about three different people and got prices. American Van Lines's prices were fair and they called back. In the process of me checking with other vendors, American Van Lines kept in touch, which made me feel like they were gonna do a good job. The rep kept checking back to make sure that I had all the information I needed. He was very helpful and professional.

American Van Lines was the most responsive in answering my questions. I had a very short time period to make a decision and get the move done and they were pretty quick and easy to work with. Also, when I compared their cost to the other ones I quoted with, they were somewhere in the middle of the pack, which gave me the confidence that how they were quoting was the right way and it came right in line. I was generally happy with it.

I retired and wanted to move down to Georgia. I called the company that I used before, and they worked with American Van Lines. I felt good about the guy I was talking to on the phone. However, I was a little disappointed in the pricing. It started out with the price as $17,000. I told them that was not gonna work because almost everything was packed up and all it needed to do was be picked up and put into a trailer. I said just 25% of what we had needed to be packed, and the rest was already packed. Right then and there, he dropped the price to $10,000 without looking at any more stuff. He didn’t come down and look at anything else. It was all done over the phone, and I was a little miffed that they were able to drop it from 17,000 to 10,000 so quickly.

I was moving from Vancouver, Washington to Las Vegas, Nevada and I wanted a professional company that’s been in business for a while. Warren from AVL was amazing. I decided on him because of his level of customer service. I was worried because I was moving during the beginning of the corona and he assured me they were going to be able to still work with me and it was not gonna limit them. Then, there was a moving coordinator and I could only talk to that person from that point on. She gave me less than eight hours to give her an update on how many boxes I have before they can give me some type of credit until the rest of the move. She wasn't helpful and her level of service wasn't up to par with the first and last person I dealt with. I paid $4,300 in advance but three days before the move, I felt like pulling my money out on her tail and going somewhere else.

Our deciding factor was mostly price. There were people who bid lower but they didn’t seem to know what they were doing. However, the rep at American Van Lines would promise to get back to us and then it was either a day later than she said it would be or it was at the very last second. In fact, on delivery morning, we were wondering if they were gonna show or not because we hadn’t heard from anybody. The guy showed and everything turned out okay. It was just not knowing.

American Van Lines was the first to pop up when I did a web search and they were the first that called. They gave me a price that I felt was reasonable so I went with them. The only thing was I talked to five different people and that was confusing. But every one of them was very helpful and very easy to work with. It was just too many people. The first three people were calling for the same purpose. The moving coordinator was changed after I made the first deposit then it changed one other time.

We retired and moved to a new community around 600 miles away. It was the first time that I've ever moved with the company as an adult and it was very smooth. American Van Lines was very responsive to our needs. I like a lot of information and would've liked more updates, but otherwise, everything was fine. The moving crew's productivity was very good. There was a lot of traffic and they were a little bit late, but they stayed here as late as they needed to get everything done.

American Van Lines seemed reputable and they were a big enough company that there was some feedback on them. The process of getting my business was very salesman-like. At first, I thought they were trying to get me to a number that I could afford because they were working with me, but it wasn't completely transparent and honest when it came down to what I was getting for my money. Then when I got switched to the next person, I was always calling them back and they'd say that they talked to the moving company and were just waiting to hear back from them. But I unbearably seemed to be waiting to hear 'cause I didn't know when they were gonna come.

A friend of mine referred me to American Van Lines. Their rep was super friendly. He was incredibly responsive and went out of his way to make us feel like we were a valued customer. The moving consultant was also wonderful, really responsive and answered every email in a timely manner. She was available to talk when I needed her. They were incredibly efficient. As few people on site as they had, they did an amazing job. They knocked it all out so quickly.

The rep at American Van Lines was real good. She's actually the one who really calmed me down and got me to go with these guys because I had never heard of the company and I just didn't trust movers. I had a friend whose moving company picked up all their stuff and he hadn't seen them anymore. I was afraid of that but the rep made me comfortable. She gave me enough information and documents that showed that American Van Lines was a legit company. She was very professional and real knowledgeable, based on the stuff that she showed me. Most people didn't know what they were talking about. I looked at five different company and ended up choosing American Van Lines also because of the price.

I liked how American Van Lines does everything over the phone instead of giving me a one-week appointment, coming over and taking a look at my stuff. I went with them and I was able to go through my house and tell them exactly what I had. Plus, their price was very competitive with other companies. They came in the second-lowest in terms of cost for my 1,100-mile move.

American Van Lines' reps were very helpful and they answered all my questions. They communicated very well what the process was. I went with them for a 450-mile move and I couldn't have asked for a better crew. They were very fast, thorough and professional. The guy with the crew made suggestions on things that needed to be done and always asked before he did them. He made sure that we understood exactly what he was doing.

I‘ve heard of American Van Lines before and the person I talked to was very helpful. I moved 800 and some miles and it was very good with their crew. There were two of them. The packing was good although they were sort of understaffed. It took two or three days for them to pack, which was a little bit longer than expected. Also, they went over the time frame for the move, but not a lot. It wasn’t a major inconvenience.

My daughter used American Van Lines four years ago and was saying how good they were. I liked their price too and so I went with them. The rep who assisted me was very nice. He knew what he saying and knew what he was doing quite well. He was very efficient. Their moving crew came right away and they introduced themselves. While one guy was working, the other guy was doing the paperwork. I have never seen anybody work the way they worked together. What American Van Lines did was very professional. If I had to do this move all over again, they would be the company I would call.

I was relocating and I searched online. I read a couple of reviews or so and decided to work with American Van Lines. The rep explained clearly the process and was very competent, efficient, and informative. The move was about 600 miles and the crew and I communicated as we went along. Everything worked out and they came on time as promised. The experience was smooth and seamless.

American Van Lines was very prompt in returning calls when I went with them from my move from North St. Louis, Missouri to Edmond, Oklahoma. The crew showed up when they were supposed to. There was a driver and two young men who came. They loaded everything up and the driver showed up at the new place when he was supposed to with another crew. They all worked hard and did a great job. I had a moving company previous to AVL that was supposed to have done the same job and they weren’t as thorough as AVL was. They didn’t put carpet down for them to walk across so as not to damage the floors. They didn't cover all the corners and all the door frames to keep them from damaging things. With AVL, everything was delivered perfectly.

Update: The company did reach out to me and we came to a satisfactory resolution. While there were some bumps as with any move, it did feel like they tried their best to communicate and work to resolve any issues. It is important to note that this move is occurring during the COVID-19 virus reaching its peak in the area and has caused additional stress for both the movers and myself. I do appreciate them working to make sure my experience with them improved.

American Van Lines had very a good rating when I did a Google search. The rep I got was pretty good and nice. Her name is Judy and she's from Florida. The move was about 2,000 miles and it was from San Diego to Huntsville, Alabama. That took about two weeks. The pickup and delivery crew were good. I will use again American Van Lines if I move again.

American Van Lines did a good job. It's been two weeks now since the move and although I have not been able to get to every box, everything has been very good so far. We were actually able to move the timeline up as well. They gave an open window of a week and they were able to move that up, which worked out well. It was quicker than expected because the arrival time had an open window date too but they tightened that up. The moving coordinator did a great job. She was very helpful and professional. The moving crew was also professional and very nice. They were good in terms productivity. They were quick.

On my first call to American Van LInes I was given a quote after she guided me through my home and had me describe every piece of furniture. She determined how many tons, gave me exactly what it would cost and then I picked a date. The Movers (the three men who arrived to move me) worked diligently AND carefully. Every piece of furniture was padded and every picture was boxed by making exact size boxes on the spot. Not one thing was damaged - not walls, not furniture, not anything. This was my second move with American in less than three years, and I will use them again if I EVER decided to do this again!

We were moving 14 miles from an apartment to a house and with all the Coronavirus stuff, American Van Lines was the company that was gonna be able to do it the most quickly, in terms of their availability. Their moving crew was also very professional and knowledgeable. They were great guys. They were very efficient. They came in and pulled everything apart that they needed to pull apart. I was moving a big glass table, a couch and a piano, and none of the three guys stopped. They did a great job. There were no dings in the walls or on my products. They cared about my equipment as much as they would do about their own stuff. It wasn’t like they were dragging it around and banging it against walls. They were being very careful and very good.

If anyone ever needs to hire movers and feel absolutely relaxed that everything will be handled correctly and in a speedy manner with no hidden costs hire American Van Lines. It was the most stress free move of my life. They were a million times cheaper than any other commercial or private moving company that quoted me, provided all packing supplies for free as well as wardrobe boxes for my clothes free as well. No damages, done 5 minutes early. Professional, trustworthy, charismatic movers who disassembled, wrapped, unwrapped and assembled all furniture for us and took great care not to damage or lose a single thing. They called me before the move several times and after to check in. Also, I have 90 days for any claims which won’t be happening since everything is out and intact. Highly recommend their services!

We sold our home and we were moving out of state, so we needed to get moved into storage, and then make a decision from there. Our realtor recommended American Van Lines. The moving coordinator came to the house and he seemed to get a grasp of what we were trying to do. The moving consultant did fine, too. But somewhere, AVL broke down the communication. We were in a two-floor, three-bedroom home and they sent two men who worked like dogs all day. They also had a smaller van. In comparison, when we moved into this home, there were four men. My impression was that they didn’t quite grasp the enormity of the job, and those men worked a ridiculous man hours to get that house packed up. I, however, have nothing but great things to say about those who did the physical work. They did a fantastic job and they were great.

I’ve had movers before and only had problems with them but American Van Lines was wonderful. I had a great experience and I would totally recommend them. The guys did a good job and they worked hard. It was a very successful move and Brian, the rep, spoke to me many times along the way. He was amazing and great about phone calls too. He did right by us, was accurate and I gave out his number.

First of all, I have to congratulate Mr. ** for being very straightforward giving us the quote for our movement. Then George the truck driver and his team for such a professional persons, every furniture even the electronics were carefully packed and delivered to our new home, not even a scratch. Good Work People!!!

I was relocating due to a job and I’ve used American Van Lines in the past and I’m happy. They had a good reputation. The rep who assisted me was great and kept me informed constantly. I was very pleased with how easy it was to get a hold of her and the one who helped me with the inventory and the quote went over everything with me. She called me back later and wanted to know if I had anything to add, which I did, so that was great. There were no surprises and everything went smoothly. The crew was very professional, quick and worked well together. They were very well coordinated. I would recommend American Van Lines. They were very professional and even the driver kept me informed when he was gonna be there and if he’d been delayed. I’ve moved with other companies three times before now and this is by far the smoothest move I’ve ever used.

Could not talk with a live person. Had to deal with automated machines. They asked me what time would be good to call and I gave them a time and they did not call. Then when they did call it was a automated call not a person.

My mother moved from Florida to assisted living in New Hampshire. American Van Lines was hard to reach and dealing with their consultant was horrible. For what I moved, I paid a lot of money. I wasn’t given good information on the insurance part of the trip and a lot of stuff was damaged when it got there. Now, I’m gonna get 15 cents per pound or something. It’s ridiculous. I’ll never use them again, ever.

I’ve traveled a lot with the military and on my own as a contractor. I went with American Van Lines specifically because there were supposed to be an all-in-one in-house moving provider, which turned out that they were not. And that’s a huge gripe of mine right now. These people had no respect for the agreement that we made. They didn’t have any respect for us when they showed up to do the job by bringing a bunch of local yokel drunks that fought and bitched and pissed and moaned among themselves, not to mention poorly packing everything. They had no regard for anything that said fragile and for our stuff when they unloaded it.

The company gave me a call and resolved my issue.

Household goods were not picked up on date as promised in FL. Delivery date also delayed in Michigan. The Coordinator Leslie did an outstanding job however, in communicating the numerous delays and changes for delivery. She advanced my concerns to her Supervisor when the Dispatch did not communicate with her regarding the delivery. The movers on both ends were outstanding.

I liked the presentation of how my quote was done with American Van Lines. I liked their flexibility too. I went with them and the rep who assisted me was very helpful and answered questions very quickly. The moving crew who came was very careful with everything.

I liked the conversation I had with the person who booked my move with American Van Lines. I also liked how they got good ratings on the website I looked at. The rep whom I worked with was helpful and the crew who came was friendly and polite. They did a good job avoiding any kind of damage. It was a good moving experience and their price was fair.

I researched three or four other companies before selecting American Van Lines. I went with them because of their proximity. I moved my mother from Fayetteville, North Carolina to Wilmington, Delaware, about approximately 400 miles apart. The moving coordinator was very impersonal and rude. The person who helped get the quote for the move did not seem to be very technically-oriented, but our interaction was sufficient for the move. It was, maybe, 70% accurate.

I was moving for work and American Van Lines was middle-of-the-road in costing. Early on, communication was very weak. It was a little difficult to get updates, but once the final dates were confirmed, it was pretty seamless. The coordinator was very responsive, friendly, persistent. The crew came in. They did their thing, packed up, and left. My kitchen was packed up. The way our things were handled was very good.

After doing a lot of research online and comparing just about everyone out there, I got down to about the top three and gave all of them the chance to contact me. However, only American Van Lines contacted me, so I went with them. They used video recording because they didn't have anyone in the area who could do a walkthrough. I was a little uncomfortable with that. There had to be a lot of corrections throughout. There were some items on the inventory that we didn't have and some items that weren’t on the inventory that we wanted to be moved. Although we got moved when we wanted to, it caused more confusion than was necessary.

The first rep I had with American Van Lines was very reassuring. Initially, my experience with them was competitive with other competitors. But then, it turned into a disaster. I asked him if there was anything I could do to make the move smooth. The rep told me that there was nothing I needed to do. He said that the movers were gonna do everything. I talked to him on a Friday the Tuesday before the move and asked about my clothes. I also had concerns about my furniture and my clothes getting wet as forecasters were calling for rain in Laurinburg. He said the movers would bring wardrobes and that they would pack my furniture up. The Monday before the move, I asked if I needed to take my clothes out of my dresser. He once again told me I didn't need to do anything and asked me how many boxes I needed.

We split into two companies and one of the companies moved out of our building, and they used American Van Lines to move to a new location. Their moving coordinator, Toni, was great. She came out, did a home estimate and stayed in touch with me through the whole thing. We had two moves. We moved into an apartment, and then the following day, we moved the rest of our items into storage. The first day was better than the second day, but we knew that that was gonna be an issue. But the first day went really fast and the second day went about as we had expected it to go. The crew was there on time on both days. They were very professional and they did a good job. It was very reasonable what we paid for what we received. We were really pleased, overall. It was a good value for the service they provided and I would recommend them wholeheartedly.

The coordinator did kind of a survey interview and then she came back a little while later with a quote through a third person. When we were ready to move, we got in touch with them and revised our quote. The move was well-scheduled. They were very flexible when it came to our changing situation because we haven’t sold our house and we haven’t bought a house when I contacted them. But all that came together after I contacted them and they worked with us. The rep was very responsive and always available when I called. She did a great job. So it was good experience.

American Van Lines' rep was very patient. However, I was very disappointed with their moving crew. I was moving into Florida and I was getting ready to go check for interim insurance as I didn’t have a job when I was coming down. It was a Thursday and the movers were supposed to come that Saturday. Someone called me asking if it would be okay if the movers come that day. I told that person "no" as I still had my bathroom, linen closet and bedroom to pack up. The person asked "what about Friday?" and I told that person that I can do Friday. But then, the moving crew called me that they were at my pickup point. They said that if they didn't come today, they wouldn't be able to come the Saturday of the move. I thought that was weird. I was also mad as I was getting ready to go talk to a guy about my insurance.

American Van Lines' rep was responsive and very clear in her directions as to what would happen, step-by-step. Their quote wasn't accurate but then they didn't charge me for anything extra. Also, their movers lost a couple of boxes and broke a bunch of stuff. They weren’t very good and they complained. They also asked me for extra money. Even so, AVL was very responsible. They get private contractors to do their moves, so I get what I get. I'd still recommend them overall and use their services again.

Demi at American Van Lines was so sweet. If I called her and she didn't pick up, she would call me right back. And she was also very reassuring. I was so worried that our stuff wouldn't get here on time, but it came the day that they said it would be here, and it was awesome. They did everything just right. And then I just showed the moving crew where everything went and they got it done in a very short time. We were also worried about them getting our bed back together, but they did. I was very happy. My son is considering a move and I've already told him about American Van Lines.

The moving coordinator was good. I only had one hiccup in the whole thing. The move got delayed. I already paid a late charge and then I got hit with another one, and I did not completely understand that the move would have to be rescheduled a few more days, based upon when I could've moved in. Even though I lost $1,500 with the deal, the move was great. The driver was fantastic and his peers were good. We found a couple of minor broken things, but it's no big deal. The driver was very courteous to my neighbors and the work crew across the street. I couldn't have asked for a better guy on the small street we have. He went way beyond and above.

I did a Google search on top moving companies and American Van Lines happened to be on the top three. I called them and got the quotes back from them, and Kevin’s from American Van Lines was the best among the three that I was looking at. From the get-go, Kevin was very responsive and was with me every step of the way. He would do a follow-up when he said he would. He very patiently answered all my questions about the move, the cost, what it was going to take and the number of boxes. He was not someone who just told me that this is how much it might cost. It was like, “Let me figure out a way to make it work for you.” So that was that point. I was also looking for someone to transport our cars, and Kevin mentioned that American Van Lines doesn’t do that but he would be happy to help me and recommend someone, and he went ahead and did that. I completely appreciated that.

If you want your possessions to be damaged and stolen then this is the company you should go with. Mover Was pushy and asked me to tip his helpers?. He also told me all my possessions were delivered when they were not. Shady as all get-out. Please if you value your possessions, do not choose this company!

I live out in a rural area, and they were the only ones who would come out there. I had a very good experience with the coordinator. They were very helpful. The truck driver had two people who were supposed to show up to help, but nobody showed up, and he unloaded it all by himself. But he did it very fine. He was exceptionally good.

There was a number of different moving companies listed on the internet and from where I lived and where they were based, American Van Lines seemed to be the most logical choice, so I picked them. The only thing is that I did everything by telephone. They were down in Pompano Beach and I was in Melbourne. That’s probably 130 to 140 miles apart. And all my previous moves I've done myself. When they were asking me like what’s in this room, I really had a hard time describing my furniture and how much I had, so I underestimated how much I really owned. I don’t know if other moving companies do it, but it’d be nice if they were able to have one of their people come to our house and do a survey prior to. Other than that, they did what I asked them to do at a reasonable price. The men that packed and moved the stuff were very good workers.

A neighbor of ours was using American Van Lines to move from Parkland to Titusville in Florida. That neighbor recommended the gentleman who came out for us and did our estimate. The gentleman from AVL who came was very nice and everyone from there was very accommodating. Using American Van Lines was a very positive experience.

I liked how American Van Lines could do the move on the dates that I needed. They also fell in the same price that I was expecting from other places. We had a couple of misunderstandings on some of the prices such as an add-on price which was supposed to be double instead of what they quoted me. But, they got a manager on the phone and she took care of everything. The folks who came with the truck were more helpful than I expected and took better care of my stuff than I would've. They were very conscientious. AVL did have some local folks at each end who came and didn't do as good a job but they weren't horrible.

The situation with American Van Lines has been resolved and I am satisfied with the resolution.

I just moved form NJ to Florida and was super stressed throughout the entire process however the actual move was fantastic!!!! I am beyond pleased with the service I received from American Van Lines. The guys arrived on time, they were efficient and very professional. The delivery was just as efficient and done in a timely manner. Helen handled my account and kept me abreast of the entire process and Ryoberto handled the moving process from start to finish. I will most definitely use this company for any future moves I make and a highly recommend them! Thank you AVL!!!

I've moved multiple times in my life and I didn't have many great moving experience, but this time, American Van Lines delivered! Everything went smoooooth. The order process, the logistic, the payment, the delivery. No delays! No surprises! Highly recommended! I will use them again!

After a huge headache with this company while I was moving, they resolved the issue and on good terms.

I lived in Naples and moved to England for five years, then when I moved back to Massachusetts, I had a storage unit full of things in Florida that needed to get to Massachusetts. The American Van Lines moving coordinator had a good response to certain questions and made me feel like it was all gonna be okay. The move went really smoothly. I had two guys load the truck and they were the same ones who delivered to Massachusetts. I was so glad because I liked them a lot. They were personable and they took care of my things.

We had retired. We lived in Florida for a year, but my husband wanted to come back to be near our son, so we moved back to New York. American Van Lines's moving coordinator, Marcus, kept up really good with emails. And if things needed to change, he was really good about it, kept me informed and I kept him informed, and it went really well. The truck was a bit late though. They had gotten a flat tire, so that was understandable. The moving crew was excellent. They were very courteous, very helpful and very careful with the furniture. I was really pleased. And along the way, they would text me from time to time and give me an update, which was nice. They were really great.

An American Van Lines advertisement was stuck in my paper tube and at that time, I happened to have gotten an offer on my house that I was taking. I knew I’d have to look up moving companies and there are several local ones where I live, which I checked but I wasn’t really satisfied with what I heard. As much as I like to do business with local people, this move is an important thing. So, I thought of going with a national company that, according to what they advertised, had a good reputation even though it was a very local move. Also, I spoke to the gal named Toni and she made me feel confident in the company. She gave me her cell number as well as her office number and extension number. She was very helpful, easy to reach, and easy to give answers. I was very pleased. She was amazing and she really was the one that brought me on board.

I shopped three different companies and went with American Van Lines with their pricing and nationwide services. The rep that I dealt with was good. She was easy to answer questions and to talk to. The quote was exactly what I paid. The moving crew was fantastic. They broke two pieces, and they told us about it real quick. Other than that, we're really good. I've submitted the claim already. They have six months to reply to the claim. They try to do them within 90 days, so I decided if I don't hear something in about six months, then I'll start calling.

I went on the internet and American Van Lines was rated so highly and had so many great, positive reviews that I just called the number. I got somebody who was very helpful and I was delighted. I had a unique situation. I booked the move and I had to store my stuff for several months while waiting for my house to be ready. I moved from North Carolina to Colorado, and I had probably between a quarter and a half of a large truck.

Moving from my first home, that was in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, went well. There was no damage to anything. The guys that were working were really nice and respectful. And then in moving to my new home in Raleigh, there were three guys. I had a couple of issues with damage to some things. I haven't heard from the company as far as getting any reimbursement. But the guys were hardworking and respectful. They did a good job. I moved two hours away, not very far. The rep I worked with at American Van Lines was good too. The only problem that we had was with her sending me paperwork. It wasn’t coming through and she had trouble with computers so that was frustrating. But I don’t know if that was on her part or if there was something wrong with the computer system. Otherwise, she was very helpful.

The claim was satisfactorily resolved.

I contracted with AVL to an interstate move. They say that they are a Carrier when in fact they are a broker/agent. I say.this because a few day before my pickup date they said their truck broke down. They sent a mover who I had no idea who they were. They did not identify themselves right away and said they would be there 9-12. They showed up after 1:00 and did not finish till after 8:00pm with a small truck. AVL did not tell me that my property was going to be stored in a warehouse. THEY REFUSED TO GIVE ME THE ADDRESS LOCATION. I had to wait till after everything was loaded and I had to get very angry and I was screaming at them.

I did an internet search for companies that would move across state lines, long distance transport, and American Van Lines was rated as number 1. My initial moving coordinator was amazing. I was very pleased with what he did to help me out. He seemed to listen to my situation and offered me good advice. We moved from southern Florida to southern Kentucky. The moving crew was fantastic. They were delightful young boys. They were wonderful. They were jovial, friendly and helpful. They were very, very good at what they did. They were very careful in handling our stuff. They did a pretty good job in general. But there were some pieces of furniture that were broken.

The truck came and demanded $3000 extra or they won’t load…. Newsweek ranked the American Van Line as one of the best in terms of moving service. This contrasts significantly with our recent experience moving from Little Rock, AR to Auburn, AL (Dec. 2019, 500 miles). We requested 4 companies for estimates to move our belongings of a 2100-sq ft, 4-BR home. American Van Line gave an estimate of $5100 after seeing the video we recorded for each room. With the same video, two companies gave us an estimate of approximately $8000 and $9000, respectively. One company sent a local agent to our house for a survey, and came up with a $6000 “not-to-exceed binding” estimate.

Initial contact was good and informative. After that, a nightmare. One month prior to potential dates for pick up had informed initial contact person, had out of town conference for first of the 2 days given but would be back by noon. Told not a problem that if this would indeed be the only day for pickup instead of the following day that pickup could be scheduled for after 12 pm since was a smaller load. Contract was then signed online. Didn’t want to commit to a contract if this was a problem. Four days prior to first potential pickup date received email from quality assurance manager requesting information regarding list- email was read 3 days prior to possible pickup and left a voice message for a call back.

I tried to work with somebody else but they charged more and they weren’t as flexible in scheduling, so I went with American Van Lines. The coordinator got everything down. Everything was good. I've used twice within the last six months. The first one was from Winston-Salem to Kernersville, which is about 15 miles apart. And then the second one was this past December from that house in Kernersville to Winston-Salem or Davidson County, just out of the Forsyth County line. Both times went very well. The movers were adaptable. They were very friendly, very professional, and seemed to really care about what they were doing.

American Van Lines did a great job. They were polite. They got me moved in, and I got everything set up. They worked the whole time, and it was a great experience.

Moving is stressful, at the very least. Everyone we came in contact with associated with American Van Lines was reassuring, calm, helpful. The moving coordinator made sure we were informed every step of the way, and checked during the move to be sure everything was going well. The men who packed and unpacked the truck were careful, friendly, cheerful - one of them even reminded me to dust the back of something that had been in place for 20 years, before they put it into its new location. I would absolutely use them again, though I am not ready to move anytime soon.

From beginning with service reps to pick up and delivery in another state to the very end I have been well informed via calls and email. The team who picked up my furniture, the lead person (Tre) was also my delivery lead person. Both ends were very professionally handled with gentle care on items I was concerned about. All persons were very personable/efficient including Elena who was billing and excellent communicator. I chose American Van Lines from Consumer Affairs reviews and others because they are highly rated. Thanks to each person who I spoke with; especially Elena and delivery guys Tre, Emmett and Michael. I would definitely recommend American Van Lines to anyone in need.

Wish I was allowed to give zero stars! This company will never touch my belongings or be allowed in my home again nor of friends or colleagues if I can help it. Such a huge regret and endless pain/inconvenience to deal with all the aftermath of a Corporate relocation; time I'll never get back. There is damage to over 80 items they packed and hauled from legs of patio furniture pushed through the table top, broken legs and holes in new leather couch, broken and bent back to wingback chair, leg of my son's antique heirloom chair snapped in half, dented/broken smoker/BBQ, tool chest damaged, big screen 3DTV (sounds like a box of Legos inside not to mention the large spots all over the screen), broken appliances, smashed monitors, neon bar light was only wrapped in paper and tossed in the truck (really folks?), chipped and dented furniture just to name a FEW of the items which total over $36,000 to replace.

I called to attempt to get more information about the company as well as a estimated quote. The first call was disconnected so I called back. The second person who I spoke to was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I was a bit surprised by some of her comments with the reviews noted here. My experience was not acceptable.

I moved from one end of the state to the other using American Van Lines and it went quite well. It was important for me not to go over the estimate that had been given and I know the movers couldn't tell me anything until they weighed the truck, but in their professional opinion of how much they've seen, they kept me informed if I was on target. And I came under the quote.

The company offered a settlement, which I have accepted. I found a new moving company who came when they said they would. A month after scheduled moving day, I still do not have my things. It was a pretty sad Christmas.

I received a postcard from American Van Lines and they gave me the better price. I worked with their rep, Divine, and she was very nice. She was also very honest and she made the transition to the movers very good. My actual moving experience was great as well. The people that came were very nice and very educated.

American Van Lines (AVL) from Pompano Beach, Florida did my move from Virginia to Georgia. I had requested quotes from quite a few movers. AVL got me a quote based on weight that helped me plan my items better. It also gave me greater control, even though it was a non-binding quote.

I am satisfied with American Van Lines despite there being a lot of waiting. The people behind the services are good, especially Charles, the one who accepted my call for the first time. He was so nice. Upon talking to Charles, I was satisfied and I felt confident. The crew members that picked up and packaged the stuff were really nice too. If there was a friend who wanted to move, I would definitely recommend the three of them. The people who picked the stuff up from the storage and transported it here to California were also nice. American Van Lines has people that are really responsible and can be depended on.

The person that I spoke to in sales, Dawn, was very helpful. We had many conversations and I found her to be extremely knowledgeable. With the moving coordinator, at first I wasn’t sure and it turned out that she was new. I had gotten two rates for a shared truck and an exclusive, and I sensed that she was talking more about the shared one. I said I was supposed to get an exclusive, so I called Dawn back and said, “I got a call and they were talking about the shared truck.” She said, “No, it’s exclusive.” Then, Dawn called me back and said that the person was new and that was why she was a little confused, which I can understand. I’ve been new before, too.

Our move from Florida to NC was a experience I will not forget. With Thanksgiving holiday coming, I thought for sure my furniture would not arrive, but Marcus went out of his way to make sure my delivery arrived on time. Starting with the crew in Florida to the crew here in NC. Johnny ** was amazing. At first he had no help for hours, but that did not stop him. He was determined to get my thing off his truck. His help (1 guy) arrived to help & my furniture was bought in without any problem. I am very happy with how my things were handle & would recommend American Van Lines to anyone looking for a moving company. Thank you to Allan, Marcus & Johnny **.

The guy I spoke with at American Van Lines seemed like he had a lot of volume going because he was to the point and was working pretty quickly. Otherwise, he just seemed to know what he was doing. I talked to a couple of others and compared to them, he was a no-nonsense but very pleasant. He was like one of those souls where he tells you what he does and you have that sense of confidence with him. He also helped me quite a bit in deciding to go with American Van Lines. I had other quotes and other people, and everything was reasonable, but he said, "Hey, this is it," and I agreed. He did good with it.

They damaged every piece of furniture we had. We gave crew over $2500.00 of stuff so we would not have to move it, including bedroom suite piano, tables, chairs, we bought crew breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some of the crew took a nap after lunch. We begged for them to please be more careful after seeing what they were doing. They just smiled and said, "Sure we will." Visits to the moving truck, found furniture with no pads being pushed across truck floor and wedged between other furniture, has legs broken off, tables and chairs with duct tape wrapped around them. Seemed like you would have to be doing this on purpose to cause that much damage.

After getting 6 moving quotes, I chose American Van Lines. I was very happy with my decision. My move was long distance (833 miles), so I was very anxious about how it would go. The company called me almost every day before my move to make sure that things would go smoothly. I had a personal representative handling my move and she called daily keeping me updated on when my movers would arrive to pick up my furniture etc. and then when I to to my new home, she called daily to let me know when the movers would deliver my furniture.

American Van Lines was wonderful. The coordinator who assisted us was wonderful too. The only hiccup we had was that the drivers got tied up at the previous stop so they didn't get to us until 12 hours after they were supposed to, which put a little crunch on us at the end. The movers were very careful though. They wrapped every piece of furniture and I didn't have any issues at all with any furniture being damaged. And they completed the move in about four and a half days.

The process of scheduling and executing our move from Weston to Fort Lauderdale was easy and handled professionally. Our personal liaison Victoria had excellent follow up/confirmation skills. Appreciate everything they provided.

American Van Lines's crew was good. They got right on the job and worked hard throughout the day. They had boxes, but they didn't have wrapping paper. They had sent a representative to eyeball the house, how much china we had, how much stuff needed to be wrapped in the kitchen and how big it was. But if he had enough paper and boxes, we wouldn’t have run out of room on the moving truck.

I do not recommend American Van Lines. After contacting them, I was given a "binding estimate". The estimate was not based on a physical inventory, but rather done over the phone. The estimator forgot to add dishes to the kitchen inventory and we later added some items to the inventory expecting a small increase in our cost. We paid approx. $1200 more than the "binding estimate". To make matters worse, American subs this move out and the third party demanded cash payment on two different phone calls. This was not American Van Lines policy. Then we were solicited on both the pickup and the delivery end for "tips". When I did not pay a tip after the delivery was made, I found trash left in my front yard. Was I dealing with the "underworld" of trucking van lines? I felt disappointed and cheated after the move.

American Van Lines' consultant kept in contact with me no more than they absolutely had to. Moreover, I was lied to a bit on the deal. They didn't tell me about the shuttles that were gonna be necessary. Even though they knew the addresses back and forth, they didn't tell me until the end when I was already committed. It was an extra $1,000. Moreover, they left a couple of things behind. It wasn't really necessarily their fault though. It wasn't on their list of the items to carry. The moving crew was nice in the beginning, but in the end, they were sloppy. They had to bring my things to a storage area and most of my stuff came through okay. But their attention to detail could be improved and they could have a little more care about other people's possessions.

Everything went okay with American Van Lines. It seemed there was a lack of packing experience on the young guys, but they were very gracious and very cordial. We had some bumps and bruises, but all in all, the experience was fine - the effort, coordination and how efficient the effort was. There were some things about how to move a couch and putting it down on the ground outside and putting it down in the truck outside without any protection. There was a wooden furniture that had nicks and bruises on the edges, corners, etc. And part of the issue was a lack of experience.

We moved about 1,200 miles through American Van Lines. We just communicated with the moving coordinator through phone. I had good experiences with the moving consultant, as well as the moving crew. Everything was good with the way they packed and handled our things, nothing was broken. I got calls from different places but with them, you were the one fighting for the price and they would only give you a van that you’d have to share with the others or else there would be very much higher price. But with American Van Lines, they were more easy to work with. They really tried to help me out and I got the price that I wanted. And they were reasonable, I had my own van. It took about a month from the time I first contacted them to the time we actually moved.

We've used American Van Lines a couple of times and Bryan was amazing. The crew was very professional and careful with my stuff and my walls. They packed everything so well that there wasn’t a scratch on any of my furniture. Moreover, they put everything back together the way it was supposed to be. They called me in between, during, and after to make sure and they reassured me to call them back if I found anything wrong after the initial move. Although the bed was a little loose when they put it together, they came right out, fixed it and apologized.

I had American move me from Reno, NV to Austin, TX. They were 4 days late on the delivery which caused all kinds of additional cost for my and my family. The damage to my furniture and possessions was severe. The ruined 2 dressers, 1 desk, 1 antique bookshelf and many pieces of pottery. The lost an 9X12 hand knotted rug, and an entry foyer table. I asked them to please let me look for the rug as it was an important family possession. Their response to everything was to send me a form and tell me to fill it out after I already sent them pictures and a list. American Van Lines is not moral company. Run.... I suggest you hire your own movers locally and have them move to a storage unit you own. It is a hassle, but moving companies do NOT care about you or your possessions. If I could give them a negative review I would.

My interaction with the moving coordinator was very professional. Everything was well-done. The crew that came was excellent as well. They were on time, did what they were there to do, and were thorough. They were perfect and I’d use them again.

The moving coordinator who assisted us was excellent. He was top-line, very friendly, and very affable. He acknowledged well and he listened when I had to change his plan. My wife and I are both retired and we wanted to move and get up in the mountains where we bought a property on a lake and we were gonna build a house. During the move down in Florida, the crew listened to everything we had to say as to the way we wanted things packed. And then the same thing up here in Georgia, they were good and very friendly when they unloaded things. They kept right on the ball and were totally perfect. We have recommended them to our best friends who were also moving up here, and they did the same quality work for them from the very beginning to finish. So, I would recommend them to anybody.

The moving coordinator and I spoke on the phone several times. He did an assessment using pictures from Zillow, which was good, and we walked through everything room by room. He did a nice job of explaining how the estimate is derived. And then, right there, I was getting bids from other companies, so we called back and forth a couple of times and it was easy to get in touch with him. Then, the crew that came out were good guys. We were around each other all day and they explained what they were doing. It took longer than I thought, but it was still within the estimated window. What took longer was they took a lot of care making sure nothing was damaged. There was a desk that is made out of particle board, which we talked about beforehand, and they told me, “These things can be very difficult to move,” and all the risks that are associated with them. In the end, the quote was close to the final cost. So, all was good.

My experience with American Van Lines went fine. I looked at one other shipping company but I went with American Van Lines. I liked the cost and the way they talked. However, I wasn’t happy with the first rep I talked to. It wasn't explained to me what a binding contract is and it changed. So, I talked to the manager and he reduced the cost. But the time for pickup kept changing to different days. It was set for one day. They called and changed it to another day. And then, they called back and put it back to the first day. Nevertheless, the moving crew was great. They moved and did not stop.

I needed a local American Van Lines rep and a friend told us about them. The moving consultant was great with our in-state relocation. My wife had most of all the interactions with the coordinator and it was all positive. They were very thorough and attentive. The moving crew was really good and very professional as well. They were very courteous and respectful of my home. Everything went as expected and it was above par. I also recommended them to somebody that’s moving down here in the city.

I moved for a new job and I got information about the company from my friends. They contacted me in a timely manner and the moving crew was very nice. There was a very small damage on my center table but that was repaired. The move was excellent and I was happy.

I did research on the internet, went by testimonials, and contacted a group of different people through other van lines too. I made my determination that AVL's response was more informative and they seem to know what they were doing, so we decided that we would go with them. We had to move somewhere 1,000 miles away and the quote I was given was very accurate. We had everything ready, but they still put blankets over everything and taped it up. The two men that came were extremely good, on-time, polite, and efficient. They were careful with our stuff and didn't waste time. They were so pleasant I could't find any fault in them. So, the whole experience was stellar.

I had chosen another moving company and they changed their pricing the day of the move. I reached out to American Van Lines and they responded quickly and I felt very comfortable with the service rep that I worked with. Our timeline was blown out because of the other situation that I was dealing with and they were able to fit the move into the timeline. The rate was probably a little on the high side of things but it was in the neighborhood of a lot of the other ones, and I didn't have time to mess around with it. The moving crew was fabulous. They were really organized and the communication was good. They would text me along the way to let me know, 'cause it was a cross-state move and that was stressful. Their customer rep was exceptional. The in-between phase was a little rough. I like the very beginning and the end of the move.

American Van Lines' reps were extremely professional. They were very prepared too during my move. While their service is a bit more expensive than the rest of the companies, they are very predictable. They don't use cubic feet. Instead, they use what I'm going to move so I know exactly what I'm going to take. They don't surprise me with $1,000 more in costs before or after they pick up my furniture which is what most companies do.

I had a terrific experience moving with American Van Lines. They were able to work quickly. Whereas most of the companies had several weeks before they could even begin to talk to me. The initial American Van Lines person I talked to was fantastic. He always followed up and did exactly what he said he was gonna do and he did it by the time he said he was gonna do it. That impressed me and made me feel comfortable going with them. It was a big chunk of money, so that was scary.

I had an excellent experience with American Van Lines and I would highly recommend them. We used them when sold our house and moved to the beach. Our rep was very good. They contacted us via email and via phone. There were three guys in our moving crew and they were great. Brian was the lead in charge. They were very professional and timely. They were careful with our belongings too.

We were relocating out of state from Louisiana to Florida to be closer to family. The person from American Van Lines who helped me first to do the purchase was very patient and nice. She helped me step-by-step to figure out what I had and what I needed. Then Marcus, the coordinator, kept in touch with me to let me know when they would be coming to pick up my stuff, where it was gonna be stored, and then how to get it back out when I was ready for it. He answered any of my questions. Both of them were very good as well as the crew which picked up and delivered.

I moved out of state because of a job, and I used American Van Lines. Their rate was reasonable and I had excellent interaction with their rep, and most importantly, they were detailed and they did close follow-up. During the move, I got a really energetic crew and they helped with packing some stuff.

I hate moving and I’ve done a lot of it within the last few years. I probably packed a U-Haul truck at least five to six times since moving to Dallas, so I knew how to do that. I’m moving back to Arkansas because my son and I have been in a shelter. I discovered that I have serious health issues. I have to let other people do stuff now because physically, I just can’t do it anymore. I’m a veteran and I suffer from some issues dealing with anxiety. This was my first time relying on someone else to help me with my move.

Only a 2 man crew to load and unload a 14000 load. Damage to 2 pieces of furniture due to problems with stacking order. We had 3 changes of who would be our liaison/ point of contact. Pushed us to ship by weight rather than by cubic feet. As a result the final bill was $3000 higher than the estimate.

I looked for a moving company on the web and heard about American Van Lines. I’ve had a couple of different people from their company contact me, that they would be letting me know about when they would be coming to pick up the goods, and then it was switched to someone else. Everything went fine though. If I had any questions, I called and it was all taken care of. The delivery seemed to go fine. It went out to my son in Montana and so far, he has not told me there was any damage.

They said they were carriers but they were really brokers and the didn’t move my things according to time schedule. The guys they had carry the stuff were rude and they didn’t answer their phones to give me any idea when they were coming. I had a good experience with the dispatcher but she wasn’t reachable after hours. I know my things must have been offloaded going across country. I was very frustrated with this company.

My dad did some searching locally, and he found American Van Lines online. Prior to the move, I spoke to Renee. It was a couple of times over the phone. She was very helpful. Everything went really well with the delivery. I was very happy with the two people that came and did the move for me. So, that was great.

American Van Lines was quite professional in terms of giving us a quote and on information that we received. The delivery was perfect, and the guys were courteous and packed up fast. It was excellent. I'd recommend American Van Lines to anybody.

I bought a house and needed to do a local move. American Van Lines was referred to me by my real estate agent and my rep from there was excellent. The office was in contact and the kept up with what was coming and ensured things were going well. The delivery was on time and there were no damages. I would definitely recommend American Van Lines.

Initially, I was working with a company called Purple Heart Movers which is a third party broker. I learned a really hard lesson trying to work with them. They showed up at my house and tried to say that the size of my load had doubled and it had not changed at all. I put a halt to the process at that point. Eventually, I talked to American Van Lines and they provided me a quote. The guy who gave me the quote referred me to a guy on American Van Lines' operations team and we planned the move on the spot in front of the other movers. That was a person that understood my predicament and worked out an instant plan in 20 minutes. He helped me out of an incredible jam. Three days later my stuff was picked up very easily with a great team and it was on its way to Utah.

My daughter lives in Texas and just had a baby. She wanted us down here to help her so we moved from Pennsylvania to Texas. I went online and looked up someone who had at least 4 stars and I found American Van Lines. But I started out with another company. The other company told me that they would get to me within a week or so, but I needed a window of no more than three days. We needed to get out of fast and American Van Lines was able to accommodate us. The other company had given us a price and American Van Lines' rep went with what they said. The moving crew was very, very nice, very thorough, and very professional. I was real pleased with them.

Last year, my son was living in Salisbury, Maryland and got an opportunity to race for NASCAR. When we moved to Morrisville, North Carolina, we used American Van Lines. Their cost and their availability to do the move when I needed drew my attention to them. Then, when we moved from there to Daytona, we didn’t shop around and just used American Van Lines because they’ve been so good before.

American Van Lines returned my call the quickest. We sold our house quickly. It was last minute and it was awesome that they were able to help. We had two trucks and four moving guys. In eight hours, we did the moving out of a six-bedroom house into a four-bedroom townhouse. We had a fabulous rep from American Van Lines and everything was great with the movers like how they handled all of our stuff.

Not timely - 6 hours late on pick-up; 6 hours late on delivery. Inventory incorrect and VERY SLOW in completing paperwork. Loading took 13 hours, completed a day later than scheduled, receiver of services and her realtor helped carry items out of the house due to new occupant needing to move her items in. Unloading- again VERY SLOW in completing paperwork. VERY SLOW unloading even with receiver and her son helping to unload. Did not follow directions on boxes as to location to be delivered. Not professionally attired, very trashy looking on the interior of the truck. Did not have proper tools to take apart and put together furniture. Did not have proper moving equipment to move large items such as the piano. At least 5 items damaged.

American Van Lines had better reviews than the other companies, so I hired them when I had to move for work. Everything went smoothly, and everything was good when they did the delivery.

I had moved to North Carolina and I didn’t like it there, so I moved back to Florida. I called American Van Lines and gave all the information. They set it up and everything was fine. My experience with the moving coordinator was fairly good. I couldn’t ask for anything better. The best employee of all was the driver. He was absolutely wonderful from the time that they started packing it up to the time that he delivered it here. He did a great job and the people that I interacted with were very professional and wonderful too. I was very happy. It took them 2 days to get my stuff to my new home and we didn’t want them any faster than that because we were in North Carolina and we just followed them down. It was perfect and I would recommend American Van Lines.

American Van Lines had the best pricing and the best ratings. They were very communicative with a lot of emails and phone calls. They helped us with the window a lot too. They kept saying that we have to move within a three-day window, and we were moving multiple states, so, they really worked with our schedule to pinpoint down a specific day and time without saying, “I’ll be here within Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.” We really needed a specific date. So, they were great with that. My husband was home with them when they did the delivery, and nothing was broken, so they were great. And they were fast.

The rep that assisted me was excellent and I was impressed that the service was honest and upfront. There were no tricks. American Van Lines was a referral and everything was just as expected. Everything’s perfect and it was the best move I ever had.

I was moving from one city to the other, and I had a fabulous time with the American Van Lines rep that I worked with. When the moving crew came, they sat down and explained everything to me. We went over the final figures, and they even showed me how to get to my new apartment in Greensboro because I never went there before. So they guided me there. They were fabulous. I recommend them 100%. It was my first time using a company because I’ve always used friends. Now, I would do it again, and again, and again. American Van Lines is divine. In a couple hours, it was done and over with.

I checked the internet and saw good reviews on American Van Lines. I reached the company with enough time to plan the moving and according to the information they got from me, the planning that they did was very good. We packed the boxes and the movers helped with the furniture to protect them. They were very efficient. The AVL rep also responded to my questions when I called or emailed, so everything was okay.

The people at American Van Lines have reached out to us regarding our concerns about some damage to our items. They've offered to compensate us for that and we feel the offer is fair. Based on the way they've handles our concerns, we'd be happy to give them a 5-star rating. And we'd be happy to use their services again in the future.

I just picked American Van Lines out because it was one that serviced an area where I needed to move things in Iowa. Everything was wonderful with the moving coordinator. I wasn’t even there. My brother was there, and everything worked out very well on both ends. The moving coordinator and I emailed each other. There was a little bit of change. They were gonna come one day, and they said, “Well, we’ll come the next day.” It was not inconvenient at all. I was very happy with the whole deal. They did a great job

It was a little bit challenging for me with the moving coordinator itself. It was tough at times. She called and let us know what was going on the very, very last minute. It was hard to get in contact with her as well. And then, they were late like a day, so we had to leave a day late than we were supposed to. My original main driver had a family emergency, so I understand that. But the other drivers that was assigned to us got there around 2:00 the day that we were supposed to move. Then they told me that they would do everything for a day and move tomorrow. I told them absolutely not.

I went to American Van Lines because they appear on ConsumerAffairs' website, and it is very misleading to have them on a website that is certified by ConsumerAffairs. They are a shoddy shop. They are outsourcing people who are not professionals. They are using people that I felt that my family and I were in harm's way. The people that they're using in Charlotte were not professionals. All of them. I got scared, and I would not associate with them. We paid a lot of money for full packaging and we were supposed to go on Friday. They didn't come on Friday. I told them that they had to come. They had priced me for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I told them that we have a closing on Monday. They were supposed to send the crew of six people, but they only sent about three people. They came on Saturday instead of coming on Friday. I told them that it got to be done and completed by Monday, but we couldn't close because of that.

American Van Lines contacted me after my review with Consumer Affairs. We discussed the problems that we encountered. American Van Lines apologized, we agreed that all issues will be corrected to our satisfaction. I appreciate American Van Lines calling me and settling this matter in full.

My experience with American Van Lines went very well. They gave me a good deal and was right on. They seemed to be really trustworthy. I’m glad I went with American. The guys were really friendly and they did an excellent job and delivered on time, and I was really pleased.

My moving coordinator from American Van Lines was really good. She kept me informed on what was happening. They did have to make a switch. They had to get a third party involved because of scheduling difficulties. I was quite satisfied with the third party. They did a great job. The guys were very customer-oriented. They did everything they promised they’d do. Everything was great.

I filled out a form and sent it back and American Van Lines was great. Brian was great, the price was right on, and everything was fine. He called me and he sounded really nice and answered all my questions. I’m a property manager, so I’m kind of familiar with how all this stuff was. And he answered everything right and he was incredibly polite and a pleasure to deal with. His guys were great too. They did everything at the right time.

My overall experience with American Van Lines was good, but they did lose a piece of glass that goes with one of our coffee tables. I contacted them about it but never heard anything back. It wasn’t expensive but the table without the glass is not good.

I called American Van Lines and talked to Kevin and he was very helpful, and then he called back. He was pretty professional and effective. He tried, so it was pretty helpful and it was a very smooth conversation. And then we set up everything. After that, another lady contacted me and she was very effective too. She told me what was going on. It was a little bit rushed because she didn't know exactly when the mover would arrive, but I understand that. In the end, it was all resolved.

I would highly recommend American Van Lines. I used them when I relocated within the state. Their rep was absolutely wonderful and the moving crew was probably the best crew I've ever had. They packed some of my belongings. Mak is one of the bosses there and he did a great job. I knew of American Van Lines through him.

I would recommend American Van Lines. We sold our home in Pembroke Pines and moved to a new house in Boynton Beach. I met with the sales manager and we had a few issues, but we were able to work things out to my satisfaction. I had to give a little and they gave me a bit, but overall, the move that they did was very good. The moving crew was excellent. They were very thorough, very careful with the packing, and we didn't have anything broken. The lead guy was Aldo and he had two helpers. There were also a couple of extra guys when they came to the house we were selling, and then there were three of them when they brought the stuff to the new house. There wasn't much for the coordinator, Victoria, to do because everything went smoothly, but she kept following up on how things were going, if there were any issues or concerns. She was very good.

I entered into the contract #*** American Van Lines on May 24 2019 for an interstate move. The experience starts with the agent Awa* who wanted to sign the contract along with the payment as fast as possible giving the reason that if I do not sign the contract fast I might miss the date slots for shipping. The scheduled window for pickup date between June 27 - 29th, 2019 and the delivery date on or before July 25, 2019. While there was week remaining for the pickup, the agent called me and said that the trailer which was supposed to pick up has some issue with it and they will have to tie-up with some third party to pick up the items. The driver arrived on Friday June 28th, 2019 and picked up the items. When he finished loading the items in the truck, he started demanding 10% tips. The driver was adamant and rude to talk with.

I was moving around 40 miles and on the day itself, it was a little bit misty and we thought it was gonna pour. The guys from American Van Lines were great and cordial. Whenever I called, as it got closer, they were available to return the calls in a timely fashion. They took great care of our stuff and wrapped everything like they said they would. My wife and I were right there with them. Our stuff went in the storage, and then they brought it back out after a week and a half and set everything up like they said they would. It was a couple of the same guys with some different ones. We had a couple of little dings that they reconciled through their claim process. Overall, it was a very positive experience and I was satisfied with everything they did.

Someone else has reached out to me from American Van Lines and has made it clear that the situation is being looked in to. This person was very empathetic, and I finally felt heard. I really appreciate the conversation we had, as well as the resolution that we came to. They are doing everything they can to find my father's table, and has severed ties with the company they had been using that lost the table. I appreciate them looking into this matter so thoroughly.

Our problem with the help of Sam who is Customer Service Manager was resolved and we are happy that our belongings finally arrived. Actually, the issue was caused by a subcontractor, so we are happy with American Van Lines and their service

I needed a change so I moved but it was still in the same state. I had excellent reps with American Van Lines. The same could be said about their moving crew although they did not do any packing for us. They just brought the stuff out and put it in the van.

AVL and I have come to an agreement on the issues stated above. No other information will be given.

Move From Omak to Reno. The driver/movers were polite and efficient at both ends. At the delivery end the driver/mover provided extra value moving items to storage uphill! The move was accomplished within the given time parameters. The cost estimates were accurate. My only complaint is that I did not receive 24 hours notice at either end.

American Van Lines was able to answer all my questions. They found the address of the house where I was moving from, which was about over 3,000 square-feet, so they thought I was moving all that furniture out. But then I explained to them exactly what I wanted moved. They gave me a good quote and a good price and great service. The movers got there early, and they were very polite and very friendly. I would use American Van Lines again if I needed to move. I would highly recommend them. I recommended them to my sister who just moved last weekend. She had a good experience, too.

American Van Lines' rep was great. I requested local and overnight storage from them. The crew who arrived was good and did their job very well.

I was moving at the end of the lease and I spoke with the moving rep from American Van Lines, and it was a very cordial interaction. Very pleasant, no pressure, very efficient and effective. Also, the moving crew was pleasant, very efficient, helpful, cordial and respectful. I would definitely recommend them because I did several other inquiries, so I did some comparison shopping. They were the most affordable, and so initially, I thought that I would get what I pay for, but that was not true. They actually exceeded expectations. The crew worked hard to ensure I was happy with the entire process from the start with the initial consultation, the planning until the arrival of the actual moving through.

I've used American Van Lines forever. The Miami folks I talk to all the time, they are phenomenal. The two gentlemen there are amazing. I had a move from Miami to Boston and everything was perfect.

American Van Lines helped out a lot and they were very professional. They did what they said they were gonna do and they didn't mess up anything. The move was three miles and they moved four rooms and a kitchen. We did the packing and the moving crew was perfect.

I would recommend American Van Lines. My moving coordinator was very helpful. I had to end up making a couple of stops from my original destination, intermediate stops, and then the final destination, and she helped coordinate that, so it was a really good experience. The day of the move went well, except for one bad incident. One of the moving guys stepped in dog poop and brought it inside and walked across a custom rug I had had made. And so, I had to call the company that made the rug to see because I had contracted them, and they will clean the rug for free, but I didn't wanna leave poop until I could get them here to clean the rug. So, they told me what I could do in the interim and so we did that until they could get to my home to clean it the way it should be cleaned professionally.

The American Van Lines moving rep Toni was excellent. We’ve moved twice in the last six months and we used the same rep both times, and she was great. We sold our house and moved out of it, and we had to go to a storage unit in an apartment and then come from that apartment and stored unit into a new house. She helped us get both of those lined up and squared away. This last time, we had some challenges with timing, so she was very patient, kind and happy to reschedule. Leslie was the one who called to confirm and at the last minute, we had to make a change. She and Toni worked together to make it work for us. So, they were both extremely helpful.

American Van Lines' rep was great. She made everything pretty easy. The movers who came to my house were professional and pretty fast. They were very helpful too and brought blankets to cover my furniture. Everything went smoothly.

I bought a new house here in Wisconsin and I was relocating. I found American Van Lines on the internet and the coordinator came in before the movers. He was very nice and although most of our stuff was done on the phone, he came in and looked at my stuff to give me an estimate. Outside of a few large items, I did all the packing myself but I had a very good experience with the movers. They were great, very courteous, clean and efficient. It was a fabulous experience with American Van Lines.

I was really pleased with the movers that we had through American Van Lines. We had a 4,100 square-foot house, and every single one of the movers were organized. They were on-task and were really good. We had several antiques, and the people were really considerate of how to move the items. Just the old things were broken, the things that couldn't stand up to be strapped. We have an antique desk that the front got pushed in, then we had two Turkish coffee pots and the lid on one was broken. We had insurance and I filed an insurance claim, and it came up with four things for a total of $2,000 in damages.

Moving from Salinas, California to Alva, Florida, we used American Van Lines and everything was set up fine. We panicked, though, because the storage facility that had all our things decided last minute to close on the scheduled pickup, which was a holiday. We had a really hard time getting through to someone because American Van Lines' office was also closed and it was after hours. But it ended up working out because they never showed up on that day anyway. And we didn't get a call, so we figured maybe it was just assumed that it was a legal holiday.

A friend recommended American Van Lines and I had a good experience with them. The guy who helped me was a good communicator and kept me informed. The crew was very nice as well. They were very hard workers. They got my stuff put into the truck and shipped within a week.

This is to anyone who is planning a move with American Van Lines. This place is totally dishonest and never to be trusted. I hired this place to move my things from Kansas to Maine, they kept changing the loading date, and when finally it was picked up, it took awhile to get to me and god knows where the things was at. But anyway when they delivered the things I had broken lamps that was not cheap by a long shot. I have damaged furniture, and the movers that drop the things off did not put the things in place like they advertise. And to top that off they left half of the things at the storage unit in Kansas after they agreed to from the start. And I have some things missing that cannot be replaced, bread cabinet, white wicker cedar lined chest, jewelry box with jewelry in it. I can tell right off that someone had gone through the boxes, because I packed them and I know me.

American Van Lines was pretty good. I was moving for a job opportunity and my company arranged everything with. I just coordinated with the logistics of the arrival and the delivery of the goods. I directed the crew on which items to take first and second and then, which ones were delicate and which ones needed to be handled with a little bit more care.

I heard about American Van Lines through the relocation company with my work. Everything was truly exceptional right from the communication in setting up times in pickups and even to the guys who picked up everything and packed and loaded. It was well-handled. The gentleman that they sent did tough work such as packing, moving, lifting, twisting, bending, reaching and dealing with traffic but they did a fantastic job. It was awesome. I've moved three times but this is the best time. This is the first time that I used American Van Lines and I would totally use them again.

We were moving from Raleigh, North Carolina to Griffin, Georgia and my wife went online and found American Van Lines. The rep who assisted us was very congenial, supportive, and patient. It was good. Also, the movers were very cooperative and polite. They got to the location the next day and we had no problems at all.

NEVER NEVER NEVER USE AMERICAN VAN LINES MOVING COMPANY. I’M SORRY I DID!!! I picked American van lines moving company for their rating and review in consumer reports. How wrong they were!!! I will be contacting CONSUMER REPORTS to look into updating American Van lines rating to 0-stars! I made arrangements and docu signed necessary documents and paid the 50% required in March 2019 for a move the end of June 2019. It wasn’t until a week before the 3-day window that they were picking my belongings up which was June 21-23 and they hadn’t called me to review the list of items and give me an exact date for pickup like they said they would.

We were moving from North Carolina back to Florida where we came from and I went online and looked for a moving company. American Van Lines was very good, and the guy who came in to pick up our furniture and deliver it was awesome. Every time I called, I had a different guy who helped me with the move. Then in the end, I got a guy who stuck with me. He was just a little hard to get a hold of and to get them to respond back. When it was getting closer, I was getting a little bit nervous, but he did call back. The moving crew was awesome. Everything came back in time. I was given a quote of being there later and they were here on the 2nd to bring out our stuff. If anybody ever asked me and they were moving and they wanted to use a company, I would recommend American Van Lines.

I started out just trying to get a general quote from American Van Lines and when one of the customer service representatives called back, he said that they recently worked with me on a concierge move for my employer. He said he would give me a quote and that was followed up by a return phone call from my previous concierge through Angela, the service representative. She was the one who went through the process with me. We decided to go on a fixed-price firm quote rather than the one based on weight. The weight estimate sometimes fluctuate, so we went with a fixed-price. Then, she talked to their concierge vice-president who also spoke with me. He called to make sure that everything was doing okay and that the concierge service would be taking over from the customer service department, which I agreed to. They offered me a $500 discount as a repeat customer.

The rep from American Van Lines who assisted me was very helpful. She called back and checked on me ‘cause we were building a house, so the date was kind of like up in the air. And she was more than willing to check back in it with me to make sure that I didn’t forget and that I knew that she was available. She sent me everything I needed to know about the pricing too. The moving crew was great as well. It was hot and they were more than willing during the move. I felt bad. I was like, “Oh, I’m sorry. That goes upstairs.” They were like, “Okay.” They were really helpful. Everything was great. I would recommend American Van Lines.

With my husband's passing, I sold my home of 30 years and moved from North Carolina to Montana. I googled moving companies and there were a whole bunch of them that came up. American Van Lines really helped me with their rate and seemed to give me the best price. I went 2,200 miles away from home and it was quite expensive moving that far. I had to get rid of an awful lot of stuff before I moved, yet it still cost me $10,000. And now, I’ve got most of my stuff in storage and I haven't unpacked much but I was happy that it was delivered quickly. It's just that I got a couple of little dents and scratches on my antiques and I just got one leg on my 1700s antique where a piece of wood is gone. Other than that, everything is okay so far. Dealing with their rep went fine and they called me quite often.

they picked us up last and immediately went to Iowa. Because we had to fly home, that made it kinda tough. That's weighing in the favor of American Van Lines to where they keep all their flexibility but they eliminate a lot of their customer’s flexibility. That time, I had already bought our airline tickets and hotel rooms.

I've been online and have looked for long distance movers. I looked at reviews and they were narrowed down to 3, and one of them was American Van Lines. When I spoke to the representatives for the 3 companies that were highlighted, I kind of felt much more comfortable with the information that American Van Lines gave me and the questions they asked. I didn't feel pressure whatsoever, compared to the other two. I told my son-in-law, and he researched as well. He said, "Go with it," so we did.

My friend had moved previously and used American Van Lines. He was satisfied so I picked them based on that. I used them for loading boxes and they were very nice and helpful. When everything was delivered, they were fine. I would recommend American Van Lines.

One moving company was very pushy, and I did not like that. I was thinking American Van Lines was not pushy. Their sales rep turned out to be informative. We did it on my schedule and was quick. I enjoyed talking to her. Plus she gave me an accurate accurate. We got it all done. The three moving crew were also great. They were fast, but I could tell they weren’t trying to beat the clock, and I appreciated that. They were also easy to get along with. Everything was good and I recommend them.

Everything was great with the reps. They were very good about communicating. The team during the move was also terrific. There was no damage whatsoever. We're real happy about our experience with American Van Lines.

I have moved cross country at least ten times over that past several years for my job. AVL has got to be the worst movers ever! Have been lied to several times. 2 people show up when I was quoted 4. Pick up delayed 3 times due to their resource issues. Incurred extra cost as the person completing the inventory missed several large furniture items. “Made” mirror boxes by taping other boxes together, then tried to charge me $17/box vs the cost of the boxes used to “make” the mirror box. Did not wrap my furniture until it was OUTSIDE to be put on the truck.

A friend of mine used American Van Lines and the salesman who called me on the phone was very nice, except he said that he would be here the day of the move and I never saw him. The person on the phone who called and told me that she would call me back, never called me back but the salesman reassured me not to worry. He has got everything under control. So, I wasn’t worried. It was an excellent experience. Victor and Raul, my movers, were fabulous. They get A plus, plus. They showed up on time and were very helpful with moving the furniture around. They were neat, clean and perfect. The move was very smooth sailing. I have to move again but we’re moving in state, and they said they don’t do that. I would have loved to have had them. American Van Lines was excellent and I would recommend them in a minute.

My job ended, so I retired and moved to North Carolina from Virginia. I was moving from a house that four of us lived in but I was going through the move alone so it was a lot of work. It was the most stressful thing I've been through in a long time but American Van Lines made it easy for me. I found them through Google along with several other companies but American Van Lines was really responsive. I liked the people that I talked to on the phone and they got back to me. The rep who helped me was good. He asked me to give him a list of everything. So, I walked around my house and described everything to him. It was easy.

I googled moving companies and opted for American Van Lines because when I called and talked to their rep that set it all up for me, I was really impressed with her professionalism and her desire to make the transaction easy for us. We've been in our house for 36 years, and we had a lot of stuff. The driver was scheduled for another stop, but we totally filled the truck so he told them he would not put anything else on the truck. So, the planned weight was way short. It cost more money than what we planned on, but I knew we were gonna have more weight.

I bought a house in a different state, but we were then not ready to move into it, so we had American Van Lines put our stuff into a storage unit. They were recommended to us and our experience with them went fine. They were very on top of things and kept us informed as to the process. The crew was also great. They packed our stuff really nicely, and everything seems to be in good shape. The only issue they had was that we were on a remote road on a lake that they had to rent another truck to bring down, load, take it back up to their 18-wheeler and load it on that and bring it to Arizona. Other than that, it was a straightforward, easy move.

This was the first time my family and I were moving to another state and were preparing for the worst. I searched consumer ratings for the best interstate moving company and they did not disappoint. American Van Lines has a top notch team that will help you every step of the way. Joseph in sales, Isabel and Lou Ella in customer service, Emily in quality assurance, and the two gentlemen that packed, picked up, and dropped off our furniture were always available to answer any questions I had. I would gladly use them again and recommend them to everyone!

American Van Lines did an excellent job on our move from North Carolina to Florida. They were very professional, polite and responsive. We did the packing and they did the loading and transportation, and it all worked out very well. The crew was the best. They came in and were set up and ready to go within a matter of minutes. They were nonstop. I was blown away by how fast they got everything done and it was really quality work. Everything was wrapped and loaded correctly, no damage on arrival. The only thing that my wife would have asked to be done differently is that the driver could have given her a copy of the inventory on arrival. Other than that, everything was as it should be. I moved a lot over the years ‘cause I was in the military for 20 years and then in Corporate America for the last 20 years, and these guys were probably one of the best ever that I've worked with.

American Van Lines was very helpful from being to end with my move. I was given a move coordinator who helped with everything. Since I was having two moves, one to TN and one to IL they helped work out a special price to help me. All items were properly wrapped and arrived with no damage. I hope this is my final move but if not I'll use AVL again.

I was searching online for a major moving company that could do a local move, and American Van Lines was the one that answered the call so we went with them. I was impressed by their attention to detail and willingness to work through us being new to professional moving companies. They were overall courteous, caring and understanding. They found humor in some of the stupid questions we had to ask.

Hired American Van Lines for move from WA state to AZ. They changed the date twice on me, almost two weeks later than scheduled. Both changes done on or near moving date. Driver shows up and tells me the move will be twice as much, I won't sign the paperwork. Told him it was videotape, every room for American Van Lines and the weight could not double. He then told me he would do the move if I paid him $2800.00 on the side and pay American Van Lines the original quote. I paid him $1400.00 and was able to record everything on my phone as proof. The other $1400.00 was to be paid on the AZ side.

I called Patrick to get an estimate for my move to Florida from Pennsylvania. Patrick indicated that he would send me a “link” that I could download on my phone in order to take video/images of my possessions. He stated that this was necessary to get an accurate estimate. Anyway, after getting off the phone I waited for the link. After not getting it by the next morning, I called Patrick back to find out what happened. He wasn’t in so I left a voicemail message. I called again in the afternoon and he answered saying that he just got in after a doctor’s appointment. I told him that I never got the link and he said he sent it to the wrong number and would resend it to me. Well, I still didn’t get it. By the next day, I felt that I had wasted enough time and got another mover. I had received an earlier email from Patrick that included an inventory list which I filled out and submitted, but still no response. I guess he didn’t want my business???? ‍♂️

Worst company I have ever dealt with. Made arrangements several months before move and was confirmed 3 times and then signed binding agreement and was promised they would be there on Sunday - one person finally arrived with small moving truck for a Second floor apartment!! We had flights out to move next morning so had to leave everything there. You can’t get through phones, they promise to return calls and don’t! Please save yourself headaches and don’t use this company!!

Last month I moved from Southeast Fl to West Coast Fl. From the first contact with Brain **, moving consultant to Victoria, our move coordinator to the two fellows who moved us, the move went perfectly. Brian was spot on his estimate and very helpful by bringing us boxes and packing material so we could get started. He also checked in and was virtually present at all time. Victoria called prior to the move. Told us what would be happening, set the scheduled and verified the cost. And also did several follow-up during and after the move.

I needed to move from CA to FL. AVL, had decent ratings and decent prices compared to other long haul pack and move companies. So I decided to go with them. BAD IDEA. On 5/28, I was contacted and told my pick up would be 5/30 between 10 am-2 pm. No phone call, no show, no reason. I called the company from 12-2:36 pm repeatedly and finally was told they didn’t know what happened and my move was now for 6/1. So here I am paying for extra days at my apartment, a change in my ticket home to FL, an additional day on car rental, and my pick up time was 9-12. Now I’m told 12-1... I have yet to hear from the movers who are a contract company to AVL.

Our experience with AVL was great from beginning to end. Being able to get an estimate by uploading video was super convenient and saved a lot of time. The service representatives were all courteous and answered all questions and concerns. I wasn’t sure how working with movers who give a 3-day window for pick up would go, but they called me a few days before to coordinate and offered to come a day earlier than scheduled as well as ask me what time best suited us. Mike and Alex made an exceptional moving team. They were super friendly and patient with our toddler running around and very professional with how they packed our boxes and prepared our furniture for loading. We were extremely impressed with these guys and we’ve moved A LOT. They were careful, cautious, and quick. Our things arrived right when they said they would and Mike and Alex’s team had our things put together and unloaded in no time. Great Service!

I was planning to move across the country. I scheduled a pick up with American Van Lines, and I paid a large deposit for my reservation. On the day of my expected move, the company called and cancelled. They said they couldn't find a truck for my shipment. I was left with all of my furniture at the very last minute. I was not able to find a different company for my move date. I was very frustrated that American Van Lines would put me in such a terrible situation, and this could be catastrophic for other customers. The customer service is friendly and responsive, but that isn't very helpful on moving day. Beware of making promises that you can't keep.

Kevin - the mover is excellent! He did most of the work himself while here in Fort Myers. The man deserves a raise! He was courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and a good man to know. The entire process was wonderful from beginning to end! I looked at a multitude of movers, but I chose American Van Lines because they had better reviews plus the cost was comparable to other movers! I would highly recommend American Van Lines to my friends and I would use them for future moves! They are great!
