I'm very impressed with the American Van Lines. They had a very good rate and I was surprised and happy with that. Our moving coordinator, Angela, took a list of what I wanted moved, and she was good. My one big request was for them to make sure that my china and crystal were packed properly so these won't get broken, and that was done. I also had some mantle cloths which were very expensive and they likewise took care of those for me. In addition, I requested them to be careful with the paintings and they did. They packed everything wonderfully and didn't break anything.

American Van Lines called me from their office and walked me through the process. Most of the people that I dealt with more in depth were the actual crew that showed up at the house for the move and they were great. They worked really fast, very professional, and they did a good job. I was very happy with them.

There are horror stories out there regarding moving companies and moving experiences; however if you are lucky enough to get Rigo as your driver you are in for a treat. The BEST ever and we have moved 6-8 times!

Moving is stressful, but I had a very good experience with American Van Lines. In fact, I have a positive recollection of the interactions I had with their people. An estimate was made by telephone and when they came and looked at what was there, they indicated that we needed to break it into two different days instead of just one. They definitely changed the estimate, but they were very pleasant and we didn't disagree. The moving crew was excellent.

I was unhappy with my experience, but since talking the customer service at the moving company and they did care about me and my problems and we were able to resolve my problems to my satisfaction. I would recommend them to anyone that has a move.

I enjoyed my experience with American Van Lines and if I were moving again, I would use them. The coordinator kept me a part of the whole process all along the way. The moving crew was very nice and respectful. They laid down things on the floor so the floor wouldn't get scratched up. We had a very nice experience with them. The rate could have been cheaper though.

Even though we made our reservation a month and a half ahead of time, our move was contracted out to a mover out of Florida. As my original post stated, we were not happy. After a long process, we were able to communicate with an actual customer service manager. As per our signed agreement, that closes our case in a professional manner and we are happily moving on.

I did a search for the best moving company online and found American Van Lines. I was moving from coast to coast so I told their rep what I was looking for and he made it happen. He was very good, very supportive, and anxious to help me however he could. The moving crew was very good and very quick. They were protective of the materials and were careful as they could be. They were friendly and professional, too. I was very pleased with them as well. I was a happy camper - it's a good experience.

I used American Van Lines to move from Miami, Florida to Spokane, Washington. Everyone that I spoke to and everyone that came and helped me with the move was great at their job. The consultant was always on top of everything and he answered all my questions. The guys who picked up my stuff helped me finish up and get everything out in a timely manner. Everything went great up until the delivery day. American Van Lines contracts people to help the driver unload the truck and they never showed up. The poor driver had to unload everything by himself, which of course he couldn't because we had heavy furniture so my husband had to help him. Other than that, AVL was great. The price that they quoted me from the beginning was the exact price that I was charged in the end. I would definitely use them again.

The agents when reserving were flexible and helpful. The actual movers were extremely professional, hardworking, and speedy. I've used American Van Lines twice now for moves and have had several friends and family use them as well based on my recommendation. I will continue to use and recommend to others as they are fairly and attractively priced and reliable.

Brian, Barbara and the whole moving crew went out of their way to make sure my move went well. The crew was professional, fast and accommodating. I would certainly use the company again and recommend anyone needing to move to do the same.

We had a great experience. The move was super easy with their help. The whole team (from the people in customer service to the movers) was very friendly, professional, and very efficient. All our things arrived in pristine shape. I would recommend this company to my best friend.

The assessor came in much lower than promised. Now I am being charged $800 with no proof that this overage is justified. Also, driver never communicated until the day before delivery. He was supposed to keep in contact. That's what we were told. Movers also repacked my china cabinet without asking or notifying me, and lost part of it. Had I know or seen, I could have at least been on the lookout. Also, the movers broke a bookshelf of mine. Yet I am the one being charged extra money without proof and I just have to endure having my own property lost or broken with no compensation. Seems highly unfair.

Whole experience was positive beginning with Scott ** who was very knowledgeable and put me at ease with a new experience with his chuckle. Then to Victor ** and Jennifer in Customer Service who kept me informed step by step. Finally Rhett, our driver, and his crew handled everything carefully and efficiently, wrapping each piece and delivering it in record time. Hopefully the actual cost will be in line with the estimate. That remains an unknown. I wish that could have been a bit more pinned down in the process but hopefully will turn out ok like everything else has. Thanks to the whole crew!

They take your money and then ruin your items. I went with American Van Lines because they were nice and seemed like they gave you great attention. I could not have been more wrong. They never called to tell me they were coming - they made promises they never kept. Every single item came damaged or broken. My mattress was completely damaged and I was unable to sleep in it. When I called my contact Allan ** he was of no help - a true salesman. Blaming the movers and taking no responsibility. He simply sold me his goods, made his commission and could care less what happened to my items.

I contracted with American Van Lines about 2 months before my scheduled move and put a 50% deposit. About a week before the move, my coordinator informed me that I had to be move by a different company. I was not comfortable and asked to talk to a supervisor. No one ever returned my repeated calls or emails. American Van Lines then proceed to cancel my move without notifying me. I was very upset and told them I would leave a negative review. Now I got their attention and 2 supervisors called me back. They offered me $300 compensation for my inconvenience in exchange for me not to leave any negative reviews online.

Everyone was professional, friendly and helpful from the first phone call I made to my last contact with the company. One drawer of my furniture was damaged and the rep (Barbara **) from the company stayed in constant contact with me making sure it was repaired perfectly. Even the carpenter that repaired the furniture was wonderful!!! My son is a realtor and we will definitely be recommending American Van Lines to our clients.

This purpose of this review is to recognize Marcus ** for his invaluable support and assistance during the recent move. This is the second time in less than a year that we have used American Van Lines to move our household goods. Both moves were professionally monitored and handled by Marcus. On the most recent move, we were assigned another individual who did not follow-up or kept us informed. Consequently, we requested to be assigned Marcus as our Customer Service Representative. Marcus intervention made the difference. Thanks Marcus!!

The packing and loading as well as the delivery of our "stuff' went well. The area that I had issue with was communication. The first person I talked with turned out not to be accurate as to how the process works and what the cost would be. Once I committed to the move, he never returned another phone call when I tried to get clarification on the process and cost. I talked with other individuals along the way who promised to look into one thing or another and call me back but never returned my call.

The house is too small to move the washer and dryer over so will have to by the end of the week move the washer out of house completely down small stairs to get dryer in correct spot. Will have to go buy a dolly for this to be done first so extra work and cost on self. Everything else was great.

American Van Lines responded to my negative review promptly and showed that they valued my opinion and my satisfaction. They addressed my concerns and reestablished my trust as a consumer.

Really efficient and professional!! Our move went so smoothly! The minute our team arrived they went to work and put us at ease. We have had 4 corporate moves and this company proved they were exceptional. We had a timeline to meet and they made sure they finished and remained pros. Thankful for choosing this company!!

The gentlemen were very courteous and respectful of not damaging the properties while moving from one home to an apartment. It was an extremely hot day and they had to go up and down 2 flights of stairs to pick up and 3 flights of 40 steps to deliver to our apartment. They were quick, efficient and very knowledgeable of everything they were doing, including set up and paperwork. Will use your service again when we move back to Raleigh upon our retirement. We moved for a new job and paid our own expenses, so the cost was not as bad as I thought it would be. Great job - Great price!!

Our move from Florida to Washington State with American Van Lines was a pleasure!!! On the day of the move I was met with the nicest, friendliest, helpful and hard working movers. All of our furniture was carefully wrapped and packaged and all arrived in perfect condition, except for a nick on a table, of which they addressed. Upon delivery, which occurred in a very satisfactory time, the same great attention was given by a terrific crew. Thank you for making our move a most successful one!!

I had to call in to find out my scheduled pick up time instead of office contacting me as they said they would. My move did not occur during my allotted pick up time- movers were 1.5 hours late. And of course, no one is pleased when their property is damaged. I lost a stand up lamp and a piece off of my bed. I was charged for an extra half hour despite circumstances during the move resulting in at least 20-30 minutes of nonproductive time. However, the movers were friendly and good at their jobs. I hoped the move would go off without a hitch but I expected there would likely be a minor issue somewhere along the way. Overall the experience was fair 3/5. Also the automatically generated survey from the company was sent to me SIX times! 5 times too many.

The company notified me about my property and reassured me that my items would arrive by this weekend or as late as Monday. They are willing to compensate me for my inconvenience and I have agreed to the terms. I have also agreed to re-evaluate the last post I first put up. The manager was very helpful and very professional. I hope that this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Went out of the way to show up on the scheduled day, even when delayed with mechanical issues on their truck. Delivery was within a week of pickup.

The 2 men who packed up our place did a fantastic job. We live in a high rise in the heart of the city so this is no easy task for movers. They wrapped everything so well nothing was damaged. The two guys who delivers and set up everything in Indiana were so strong and efficient. They were almost magic because some of our furniture seemed impossible to get up two flights of twirling stairs. I would highly recommend!

I have resolved this issue with American Van Lines. After being able to speak with the appropriate person, I was able to see the shared lack/miscommunication in this matter. American Van Lines addressed my concerns and resolved this matter to my satisfaction. The effectiveness of a good company is not only about the service it offers but how well they handle situations and problems that will arise in every company. Customer service with any company is paramount.

I was a little frustrated, because I had 4 different people call me from American... John, Cedric, Victor and someone else. A week before my move, I asked to confirm what day the movers would be at my house. On Thursday, they confirmed the movers would be there Monday 5/2, but could not confirm a time. I bought my plane tickets to leave town for Tuesday. When I called Monday to find out where the movers were, I was told that the movers had me scheduled for Tuesday morning and that someone left me a voicemail about it. Tuesday, I received a phone call saying that the movers would not come until 8 pm. My flight was for 2:30 pm, so I had to get a co-worker to come over to let the movers in and could not supervise or do a walk through to make sure everything was packed up and moved. When I expressed my concern about this, I feel like my concern was blown off.

Overall, an excellent experience. Cost estimation for our move was done very professionally with simple explanations and very clear documentation and verbal communication. Our customer service representative (Benjamin **) was prompt in returning our call and keeping us posted on schedules through e-mails and phone contacts. There were others too and they all were equally respectful of us as their customers and did what needed to be done promptly.

Overall I am happy with my experience. Joseph set my move up and he was very thorough and nice. The price was pretty much spot on. The driver and movers did a fantastic job packing and unloading. QA was helpful setting up the third party crate company, but I would have liked it if they read Joseph's notes so it wasn't set up last minute. The only group I was disappointed with was dispatch. They never knew what was going on and I couldn't plan anything because they never knew anything. That is frustrating. Overall I was satisfied.

The three guys that came to do the move were very polite, nice, happy, and very helpful. They have a great working relationship.

They proactively kept me up to date with all the details of the move prior to the move as well as updates on the arrival dates of my goods. On the day of delivery, my agent contacted me to make sure everything was going as planned.

He was so professional, helpful, and pleasant. He really takes pride in his work and his crew responds to him in a positive manner. Move from Boynton Beach Fl. To Jacksonville Fl. - My husband and I were so very impressed with our moving men. Courteous, respectful, to both of us as well as each other. They were working under some extreme heat at both locations and yet never hesitated to help one of us. Dennis, Ali and one more gentleman whose name I can't remember were gift that we are very thankful for. I also would like to mention Ashley ** who was kind, accurate and very professional each time we dealt with her!

We are moving mom from a private house to assisted living in another state. There was a truck leaving from Florida in a couple of days and they were able to add us at short notice. As emotional as this unexpected move has been, the help and caring we have received from all involved with your company has been incredible. Thank you so much for everything.

Everything went as planned. My driver Johnny, was knowledgeable, courteous and very professional. He did everything I needed and got my belongings here with no incident. I was extremely pleased with my move and would use MBM if I ever move again.

We used AVL to move from a one-bedroom apartment in MA to a house in NH. Overall it took about 3 hours to move out and 2 or 3 to move in. They were very quick and very careful with everything - no missing items, no broken furniture. Exactly what you'd expect from a company with this much reputation.

After speaking with representatives about the difficulties I experienced with my recent move, the company quickly worked to resolve all issues to my satisfaction. My antique dining room set arrived safe and sound. I was concerned about the glass that was irreplaceable; I was assured that it would arrive safely and it did. The furniture was picked up in Missouri on April 15th and was delivered on April 25th in Delaware. The guys were professional and friendly. What was really impressive was the level of customer service. I had three different contacts that kept in touch with me on the move. I would definitely use American Van Lines again.

Pleasurable experience with our move, the men were prompt and extremely courteous. Living on the mezzanine level of the building made the move more difficult because the furniture had to be carried down a long hallway without the use of an elevator. The men never complained and worked diligently from the minute they walked in. The estimate of 3 hours was accurate. The experience was the exact opposite from what I had anticipated after watching many TV shows depicting ruthless movers. I would use this company again any time I needed to move. I give them my highest recommendation.

My move from South Carolina to Arizona went very well. The driver was very knowledgeable and respectful. Answered all of my questions. I would recommended this company highly to anyone that is planning a long or short distance move.

Johnny led a great crew. They were at our house on time and when they were scheduled to be. They were careful with our belongings. Johnny can be a bit long winded but is always mindful that I know of everything going on. He walked me through their process and walked me through the paperwork. All in all they were a great team and a tremendous help!

The staff from American Van Lines were great. But the person throughout the whole ordeal who we dealt with after was really, really good. The moving crew was also excellent. They were a little older but they still managed to do stuff properly. They didn't speak any English, but they were extremely nice and they handled everything with care. The only issue is that I had a very big bedroom-sized mirror that was damaged, but everything else was fine. So, out of the whole move from Michigan to Dallas, that wasn't bad. I would recommend them to a friend and I've already used them a second time. It was a great experience.

I don't regret telling the truth about my experience, here's what happened within less than 24 hours: I got a call requesting to schedule a phone meeting with Anthony Disorbo, the owner. I scheduled that meeting for the afternoon of Thursday, April 20th. He did call and let me know that he hadn't seen my file previously, but was very apologetic to the way we had been handled in our moving experience. He also wanted to try to help make it right, but did need to review the file so asked if he could call the next day. I put trust in the fact that maybe he would return the call the next day as stated, and he did...even early at that.

The crew that assisted me in making this move possible was courteous, professional and delivered on all promises to make my move a success. Starting from the first conversation to meeting the moving crew. No hidden surprises from start to finish. Dennis and his crew were the very best in customer service and did earn my appreciation with their work ethic and commitment to handling all of my goods. All items were packed and arrived in perfect condition and on time. Thanks again.

I was ultimately very satisfied with the move and the rate given by American Van Lines. There was an issue initially with the coordinator and they ended up having to change the coordinator. Once that happened, everything came together as I had originally planned so it worked out fine. The move was from South Florida, Hollywood, FL. There were three different locations in South Florida they had to go to, and then transport everything to Western North Carolina. They ended up having to transfer things to a smaller vehicle because they couldn’t go up the mountain road that we had but they did an excellent job and everything went very smoothly. I found them to be reputable and professional.

The movers were very professional and extremely nice. They did everything in their might to make the move an easy transition.

Booked my move on 3-30-16 for a move to Texas from New Mexico. Signed a contract for a set timeline of 4-18 to 4-20 to move. They call me on the 19th to tell me the truck has broken down and it won't be fixed by tomorrow. Theresa says there is no other truck available. I said, "Of the 100's of trucks you have in your fleet, you can't redirect one to get here in time!!!" I'm sure mechanical issues come up and there has to be procedures in place to resolve these timeline issues. Theresa is going to continue to see what she can do. NOT A GOOD START to my move. Will post with updates.

Started off rocky. You called the day of move 3 times and we didn't get the message to change date to the next day. We gave our cell phone for contact and somehow that didn't get passed along so the left messages were left at the wrong number. The crew came the next day and did a great job! Efficient, quick, very careful. We could not have asked for a better job. Mike & crew get a two thumbs UP!

The men that came to move us did an excellent job of moving the furniture quickly and safely.

I went online and searched for long-distance travelers. I looked at the reviews and it was between American Van Lines and another company. The reviews for American Van Lines were excellent. I went with them and both the moving coordinator and the moving consultant were very good. The moving crew was excellent, too. The way American Van Lines put things together was very professional. It was an enjoyable experience and I'll absolutely recommend them.

I was moving from Greensboro to High Point and it was my second time using American Van Lines. The crew was very nice and positive. They were very helpful and were on time. They were also very cooperative and were very willing to do the things that I needed them to.

I was getting my daughter's belongings out of a storage unit. I emailed someone in town and they suggested using one of the larger van lines. I got three different bids but I ended up using American Van Lines. Their moving consultant was very good but there was such a large demand and it was quite a challenge to try and get her on the phone. It's good though because that means they're doing a lot of business. Additionally, the crew was hard to understand sometimes. We also did have an issue in regards to the payment. I was under the impression that once they dropped the load, they could rerun my credit card again. But anyhow, we got the issue straightened out.

Working with AVL's moving coordinator was very good. We coordinated the date of the move and the time that the movers would show up, the movers were great and on time. They moved the stuff up, wrapped everything carefully with blankets, taped everything up nicely and neatly, and loaded it into the truck. We had tons and tons of stuff to be moved and they got it really good in three hours.

I used American Van Lines to move from New Hampshire to Mississippi. They were supposed to pack me up in New Hampshire but it was my husband who packed up my kitchen and put it in boxes. The driver was good except when our stuff came to Mississippi, he didn't have anybody to help him unload. We had moved into a new house and there were two guys putting up the fence in our yard and my husband paid them $30 each to help unload our things.

I had a good experience with the planning consultant who helped plan the details of my move. I recommend American Van Lines.

I used American Van Lines to move from one city to another. The moving consultant was very good and polite. Same with the movers. They were good people.

The American Van Lines reps were very prompt and answered all my questions, and the follow up was there, so their service was good. The rate was governed by the interstate transportation rules for pricing, but their prices were fair and competitive. It was good with the moving consultant who was helpful in planning the details of my move.

I've retired and moved back to where our family was so I contacted American Van Lines. The move was about 300 miles and they were excellent. They were also wonderful and very punctual. They came when they said and packed everything.

I had booked with American Van Lines to move me from south Florida up to Long Island New York. I have moved a few times before but never have I experienced such professionalism and service. My sales rep and customer service rep had made sure I understood how the moving process would go. When my driver arrived he did an amazing job and delivered my items quickly. I would definitely use American Van Lines again and recommend to anyone who is moving.

We've moved a number of times so I've dealt with American Van Lines before. This time, we moved about 650 miles. We talked with the moving coordinator a number of times about the move before, during and after the move and it has been fine. The delivery crew had to move things a fair of distance from the truck to the house but they all did a great job of moving everything in. We didn't have anything broken. It was a very convenient move and everything worked out well.

American Van Lines is part of the Movers Association. I did a query and they were one of the companies that were given for us to talk to for our move. We had a couple of conversations with their rep. He was great and thorough. We've moved for four to five times in our life. We've moved with Mayflower, Bekins, and Graebel. American Van Lines was by far the best move we've ever done with any company ever. These guys were awesome. We had a lot of interactions with their crew. They were polite, courteous and helpful. Nothing was ever a problem. We parried to be involved and engaged with them, and they said, “Today is your day off. You just be around to answer our questions.” We bought them lunch and kept them well-hydrated, and they were very happy with all that. American Van Lines did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. In any industry, that’s rare.

American Van Lines was very persistent (and always polite) in attempting to resolve the issues I raised in my previous negative review. They have agreed to a financial settlement that satisfies my concerns (including compensation for the broken table), so I am changing my previous rating to 4 stars.

Everybody at American Van Lines was fabulous. If I had to move 2100 miles again, I'd do it with them.

A long distance move can be stress-free. Who knew? American Van Lines was prompt, professional, fast, careful, and stayed in touch throughout. A DOT by-the-book move. We were very impressed by Peter **, who gave us our estimate as well as lots of little tips and tricks for packing and saving money. Barbara **, our moving coordinator, kept us informed of the scheduling and progress of the move and made sure we were satisfied. Highly recommended.

Communication prior to the move needs to be improved. Response time with questions, etc. were slow. We had to call to confirm the day before we moved that everything was on track. We called around noon. The coordinator did not call us until 4:00 pm the day before the move. However, the actual moving guys did a fabulous job. We had a few really heavy pieces and they handled them wonderfully.

I had to move back from Georgia where my job was to North Carolina where I had a home. I went with American Van Lines and everything went well.

American Van Lines came out, did an inventory and gave us a price. We discussed what we would move and what they would move and they were very helpful. Then they sent us a proposal, we signed it and sent it back. The move was about four miles. We purchased a new house so we had quite a bit of furniture and heavy stuff to move so, we decided to use movers this time. And we had a brand new baby so needed help because we were busy taking care of the child. The delivery crew did great and had our entire house moved a few minutes early. The guys that moved us did very well and we were very pleased. Great service. Easy move.

Driver Francisco was excellent! Marcus, our coordinator, also very responsive to our needs. There was an initial issue getting the pickup date on time but after a phone call to Victor, this was quickly resolved! Price not too bad.

We were moving to a location closer to my work. A gentleman from American Van Lines came by and gave us a quote. From there, we met three other van lines. We picked American Van Lines mostly based on pricing and the quality of the meeting that my wife had with their guy. Their moving team was excellent, too. We couldn’t have asked for a better one.

The movers were late arriving, they did not get started to late morning so it was a long day. The crew was very polite and friendly along with pretty efficient.

I used American Van Lines for a military move. The crew was very good and talking with their reps went well.

We used American Van Lines for my daughter's move from Florida to Colorado and they did a great job. After they put somebody in charge of what I need, he asked me a lot of questions and sent me a questionnaire with the size of my moving. I completed the list and assisted me, and gave me feedback all the time. He gave me a price and told me what was included. It was not the cheapest one but I didn’t want to go to the cheapest one.

Planning the move went real smoothly and I didn't have any issues. The moving crew was on time and communicated when they were going to show up. They were polite and diligent, too. There's obviously room for improvement but I was very satisfied with American Van Lines.

I was looking for a moving company to move my parents from their home in New York to an assisted living facility in New Hampshire. I have used American Van Lines before, and I also researched the internet and they have the best reviews. The rep who assisted me with my purchase was pleasant and helpful. She was friendly and was able to answer my questions, too. The moving consultant who helped plan the details of the move was also wonderful. My parents were very happy with the moving crew as well. My mother had a massive stroke and done things on her own for three years. Finally, she said "I can't do this anymore without family help." So, I moved her from Oregon to Georgia. I did a Google search and saw that American Van Lines was ranking in ConsumerAffairs. Aside from AVL, I also got a car transport company from there and they were both wonderful. I couldn't have had a better experience with both companies. AVL's rep kept calling me and checking because we are trying to figure out when they would be coming. It was already 30 days later and we arrived way before they did. Other than that, it was great overall.

My husband was relocating. I talked to a rep from American Van Lines who was very helpful. We walked through each room. He helped me from having to go all the way back home to my house. The move was an 8-hour drive. The problems I had with the move include the truck not being quite big enough. The house was full and I added some things, which was my fault. There were also two men who came. There weren't enough people to move our stuff. Then they had to come up here the same day. I was exhausted from helping them move the whole day, doing all these things and packing up. Then I had to drive up to Nashville and meet them up to put my stuff in storage. I understood that it was going to take some time to get up there. It wasn’t going to be an immediate thing. But otherwise, the two men that moved us were really great. They did a good job.

I was moving from Florida to Pennsylvania. I was sick so my husband bought a house here with no stairs. We used American Van Lines' services and their people were very nice. The moving consultant was polite all the time and the delivery crew packed everything. It was an excellent experience.

There were no issues. I had just moved not long ago where I did have issues with another moving company. I came across American Van Lines when I looked at reviews on the internet. The move was pretty fast - it took six days. They came on a Tuesday, moved me from San Diego to Fort Walton Beach, and they delivered the following Monday. The moving coordinator was pretty good but there were a couple of times that he wasn't there when I called and sometimes he calls at 4 o'clock in the morning. I was moving out of San Diego and he was in California, and he forgets about the 3-hour time difference. The moving consultant was courteous. The moving crew also worked hard. We did the packing of our belongings but the crew wrapped our things in blankets to keep them safe and nothing was damaged.

I was bringing back some possessions that belonged to my deceased parents from Charlotte, North Carolina to Madison, Wisconsin. The move went very smoothly from start to finish. The American Van Lines' moving coordinator was very personable on the phone. Also, the two drivers were absolutely incredible from the start. They were very knowledgeable, nice and friendly. I was not present at the start of the move because I was back in Wisconsin so I had someone standing in for me, and they spoke very highly of them. When I finally met them once they got to Madison, I would certainly agree with the person that was standing in for me in North Carolina. They were very willing to help out once they got here and where they have to move everything.

The coordinator was very helpful. She was pretty responsive and I never had a problem with her. I moved from Rancho Mirage, California to Meridian, Idaho, and they gave me a decent rate. Everybody was knowledgeable during planning the details of my move. The only issue that I had was they partnered with a company down in Rancho Mirage area. They were going to charge me a surcharge, which they were not supposed to, so I fought back. I had to make two or three phone calls and let them know that I wasn’t gonna pay it, and they said there wouldn’t be a charge. But other than that, it wasn’t difficult by any means. The movers were good, very polite and on time. It was a very pleasant experience.

Move was a wonderful experience. Movers were on time and packed us in much shorter time than we ever expected. They were very courteous and prepared our belongings as if it were their own. The move was about 650 miles or so. I knew of American Van Lines in the military dozens of years ago. I moved a lot for a part of my life and when we needed to do another move, I knew the name of the firm and had used them before. I also went online to see who was out there and to get an idea of what some of the better moving companies are these days and American Van Lines was right up there.

I had a very good experience and I would definitely recommend American to anyone who was moving. I didn’t have a lot to do with the moving coordinator but the first gentleman I spoke with, Johnny, was excellent and really good. The gentleman that worked really didn’t seem like he cared that much and it could’ve been a personality but he didn’t appear that he really was that interested in my move. The delivery crew was wonderful, extremely courteous, efficient, very pleasant, and on time. In fact, they were a little bit early which surprised me very much. And I can’t say enough nice things about the drivers. They were one of the most pleasant parts of it because they were tops.

Everything went smoothly with the AVL rep when I wanted to move closer to work. We shared a few emails and a few phone calls here and there. They gave me one of the best rates. The move was about just 16 miles. The moving crew was on time and they were quick. They were nice and really awesome and were careful with my furniture.

He answered all my questions and provided me with a good rate. He did a good job. The manager was very friendly and knew his business, and the moving crew was on time as they promised. They helped me with the packing and carried all the stuff. They were also friendly and did all the job. It was a good experience and it was easier than I thought it was going to be. Our move with American Van Lines worked out fine. My son ended his semester in law school in North Carolina and moved back home. My husband and I had personally moved all his stuff down there and then when he decided he was coming back home, we said we’re hiring a mover because we’re too old. I did all interactions with the moving coordinator and moving consultant all long-distance via email and it was fine and very easy. I didn’t have to go to North Carolina.

We had quite a bit of interaction with the delivery crew, and they were very good at getting us where we needed to be quickly. It was a very smooth experience.

I was relocating my business so I contacted American Van Lines. They are efficient and made the hassle of moving a whole lot easier. Everyone was very considerate, patient, answered all of my questions, and anticipated any needs or concerns that I had. The moving guys were very pleasant, courteous, professional, and took great care with our things. It couldn't have been nicer.

I made a tentative arrangement with a smaller local company. I left them with a deposit, and they didn't send anybody out to my house to actually look at the things that had to be moved, and that concerned me a little. In addition, they were pushing a schedule that seemed to me to be unnecessarily tight, so I decided to call another company. I looked through the yellow pages and recognized the name "American Van Lines". At first, I thought that the price was going to be exorbitant because they're a big, national company. I called them and they offered to send a representative to me. That sounded good to me. The rep came and he was very intelligent and professional, and we got along quite well. He gave me a quotation on the price, and it was actually maybe even a few dollars less than what I had been quoted by the previous company.

I contacted American Van Lines on a move from Boston to Arizona. I found them through an online website where you'd put in information and different movers would contact you with their bids. Some movers bid by square footage while other movers bid by weight, which is what you're supposed to do rather than square footage, and this company did by weight so I went with them.

I was very happy with all the people that I interacted with at American Van Lines. The only problem was that our stuff was delivered about two months later than I had anticipated. I was promised around November and it didn't get there until January. They should be more upfront with the window. I was prepared for a two-month window, but if I were a family moving, it could've been an issue. The movers, at every level, was fabulous. They took very good care of the furniture. It was a pleasure to work with them and they more than made up for the problem. I would recommend American Van Lines to a friend but I would tell them not to count on the window.

Super-Duper!! The guys were in/out lickety-split when they loaded (FL) and unloaded (MI). I was impressed on how they wrapped our leather furniture and glass tables which avoided damage. Even though they weren't fluent in English, they were able to understand my concerns and directions. Should I ever need to move again (heaven forbid :-)) I will definitely call you guys AND refer you to anyone who may be in need of your services. THE ONLY COMPLAINT I have is the $300.00 charge of shuttle fee.

I relocated and was moving out of town, so I contacted American Van Lines. The first person I spoke with was a gentleman who gave me the quote. He sent me a sheet where I filled out the items that I had to roughly estimate the weight and how much it was going to cost me. He sent me all the information via email which was great because I didn’t have to plan out anything and I took care of everything over email. I also had another follow-up call with a lady. They were very professional, provided me with accurate information, and very timely with the information that they provided me with. The guys who did the move were very hardworking, productive and no time was wasted. It was a great experience, and I have definitely recommended American Van Lines due to the positive experience that I have had. I actually did recommend them to another former colleague of mine that was moving.

It took over a year for American Van lines to reach out to us, but we did come to a resolution. American Van lines gave us $650 for the over-weight fee, lost items, and our damaged items. Please be cautious when using American Van Lines and make sure you receive a price for the weight.

The move with American Van Lines was slightly over 7 miles, and it was very good and efficient. I basically got out of their way and just let them do the work. I was very satisfied.

I was very satisfied with everybody that I dealt with in American Van Lines. They were nice and cooperative. The consultant was knowledgeable and got all the details of the move correct. The moving crew and packers were good and friendly. They did everything the way I wanted it. The only thing I have now is one of my pieces was not delivered. I might have somebody else's piece in my storage. So we're trying to figure out how we can get into my storage place to get one girl's headboard, so I can get mine back. The only problem is I don’t have access to my stuff but we're dealing with it. Other than that, everything was fine.

I initially reached out to American Van Lines when there was a job transfer with my husband. The moving coordinator told me all the information I needed, and the moving crew was fine. The people who loaded it seemed like they were taking care of the properties. However, some of our stuff were damaged when they were unloading them from New Jersey to get to the car to Colorado. My daughter's crib was cracked and there were scratches on it. Other than that, I am going to call them, because I have to move again.

American Van Lines arrived on time to finish packing. Loading was completed in the allotted time with only three men. They completed the packing sheets and explained all the items moving. Contact was by telephone as to arrival at final destination which was perfect timing. Once again the task was completed as scheduled and the packing into the storage unit allowed for 1 unit instead of 2. That was truly based on their experience with packing. We are happy to be moved and pleased with our selection of American Van Lines. After the move we were contacted by customer service to let us know the final invoicing which was LESS than anticipated.

American Van Lines had good reviews when I researched online. The guy who came out was a good gentleman, an ex-marine. He was thoughtful and attentive to my questions. I liked him and we hit it off so that was also encouraging. The moving crew was careful, helpful and productive as far as loading the truck properly and everything fit. I will use them again and tell anybody that my experience was great.

I moved using American Van Lines a year ago and we had a bit of a miscommunication between all the drivers and coordinators. The move happened after an ice storm and the movers didn’t notify us when they were showing up, and it was a mess. It was a little unsatisfactory, but I let someone know about it shortly after the move.

The moving consultant was pleasant, knowledgeable and got all the details correct. The crew, from packing to delivery, according to my friend who spoke Spanish, was terrific. I asked them if they were fine unloading the trunk of my car which they did and they were awesome. Though, it was more expensive than I expected. I had to be in storage for a few weeks because I didn’t find a place by the time I needed to move and it was great. My experience couldn’t be better.

The rep of American Van Lines who assisted us was very helpful and walked us through the whole thing - we’ve never done a long-distance move before so we didn’t know what to expect. Everything worked out great, the only downside was that they didn’t come on the day that they said they were going to come due to the malfunction of the truck itself and no one from American Van Lines called to tell us. They were supposed to be there early on Sunday and by 1:30, we were still there waiting on the truck to come. So I finally called American Van Lines, then they gave me the phone number of the driver so I could coordinate with him directly. But once they got the truck fixed, everything else went absolutely smoothly.

I needed to relocate some stuff so I got the services of American Van Lines. During the move, both the pickup and delivery guys did well. The driver was a hard worker, excellent, and dedicated. They got it all done in a timely manner. They were professional, diligent and worked very hard and did a good job.

My friend referred American Van Lines to me and my experience with them was really good. They were on time and they have really good customer care. I’ll definitely recommend about this.

I was moving for a job relocation. I went online and one of the web hits was ConsumerAffairs and I saw American Van Lines there. The group that picked up all of my belongings in Massachusetts was an outsource company for American Van Lines, and my experience was not very positive. They misplaced a piece of artwork and did not tag things properly. I was not pleased with them. I did communicate immediately with American Van Lines. On the other hand, the group that delivered my belongings from storage in Dallas to my home in Texas was excellent and had attention to detail. The difference between their staff and the outsource staff was amazing.

I moved from the East to the West Coast with American Van Lines. The rep was good. There were a few calls and emails describing the schedule and the process. There were no hassles, and they kept me updated on the progress as to where my items were and when they would be delivered. The schedule was a week off, but everything went smoothly. AVL is a great company. They’re professional and courteous, and they’ll take care of you. I would use them again if I'm to move somewhere else.

A friend of mine moved three of four months ago before I moved and told me about American Van Lines. The move was for two houses moving into one. We and my mother-in-law had to move altogether. Alan was the first rep we talked to. He looked at everything and gave us a guess as far as the weight and how much it would cost. He left all that in writing and when we’re ready to move, we called in.

One of my friends used American Van Lines and from there, I got the reference and used them on my move when my office moved. I got full help from them regarding the packing, unpacking, and coordination. And they were reachable, too. But the only thing, it was more than the time it was expected. They told me at maximum, it can take up to 10 days but it took more than 10 days. I spoke with the coordinator and interacted twice or thrice regarding why it is getting delayed, whatever reason it may be, but it was not good. It was more than 12 days I'm without my stuff. To anybody who wants to have it, I'll say the experience was goo but there may be possible delays more than the usual time.

I chose American Van Lines because they had good reviews and resolution to problems they had was satisfactory. Once I chose this company communication was very good. The sales person Johnny was patient with me and answered all my questions. He was honest and sold me the right "move". Once the date was picked and the deposit was given I was contacted by Victor the moving coordinator. He was professional and kept me updated on both the pick-up and drop-off of the house contents.

American Van Lines is no longer using Empire Moving Company (St. Louis, MO) because of the experience I had.

I had a little problem with my experience with American Van Lines because when the van got there, it couldn't get down the lane. I told them to bring a small truck and when they got there, they had a huge truck. So they told me that I needed to have it shuttled from my house out to the road. I had that done and at the end when they called me up to find out, they wanted to charge me like they had shuttled it, when I had to hire somebody else. It did not go smoothly but they were on time and were very careful with everything. The van driver was also very courteous and it wasn't his fault. It was a misunderstanding and I would still use them again.
