I switched States because of my job and found American Van Lines online as being one of the most highly recommended companies. The moving coordinator was always very responsive and present. He answered all the questions I had and was very reassuring. The moving crew were also very efficient and knowledgeable. It was the best American packing job I ever had done. It's just that the communication between all the parties wasn't. There were four people that I talked with - the movers directly and the moving company that managed the movers. Then I talked to someone who was organizing the time, letting me know sort of the status of the actual move and then the person who originally took my payment and created all the contract. There was confusion about who did what and how but I can understand that when you go through third parties.

I received a perfect service from American Van lines, however they changed the agreement on the price of the boxes. We had a lot of furniture and there was some misunderstanding regarding the size of the house, so in the end the price was a little bit more. Other than that, I’m happy with the service, and would advise them to be very sure about the quotation.

My experience with American Van Lines was good. They arranged for transportation of my belongings during my move from Ohio to Louisiana. There was some damage caused during the transportation, but American Van Lines is in the process of assessing the damage.

I was extremely pleased with the entire process for this move. Tim was extremely helpful as was my customer service rep. The two young men who came to move me were excellent. Arrived on time, packed everything in the truck in a short time and unloaded with everything in perfect shape. Not only were they excellent movers, but very polite and respectful young men. As a Senior Citizen, this means a great deal to me. Too often polite is missing. I could not have been more pleased with the service.

The moving consultants of American Van Lines were good, and the moving crew knew everything. Everything was timely and nothing got broken.

I was looking online when I found American Van Lines and got a quote. My experience with the moving consultant was good. I don't have any complaints. As for the moving crew, two of their guys were very professional and very cordial. They did everything I asked them to do. There was this other guy though, whom when I was telling them that I didn't want them all to break anything and that they needed to be careful, turned around and said, "you act like you don't trust us." I said, "you know, I've moved before and things get broken. And no, I don't trust that you're not going to break anything." And then he said something else. I think it was just his personality. He said something else and my answer to his next comment, which I don't remember, was, "if you don't want to be here, you need to leave before we get started." And he's like, "oh no, you know, I'm okay." So I said "okay". We started out like that and then it got better.

Tyrone and Adain did a great job. Wish they had come on first day of 3-day window. Wish they had been 4 people like these two.

The AVL moving crew was quick and thorough, but some things got broken because they weren't wrapped well enough. Meanwhile, the moving coordinator was very professional and took care of our furnishings well. I'm a happy customer.

The people who packed the stuff did a pretty good job packing and unpacking. Everything came out in good shape. I have one item that the bottom has been hit and I don't know how it happened. I also have one window cupboard, that the top has been slightly damaged. The paint has gone off but otherwise, there was nothing broken. The only thing that I was not satisfied with was the response from the lady who was in charge of the repacking, she was very difficult to get hold of. I've used American Van Lines many times when I was working for the airlines and I was moving from country to country. Every time the airline paid for it but this time it was me who paid for it. The important part of it was it worked out very well.

Movers were prompt, efficient, courteous, and professional. Would recommend this particular crew without hesitation.

Marcus was great throughout the whole move. He kept me informed of the process. My only complaint came from the drivers the day before my belongings arrived. They didn't show up when they said they were going to and then wanted to charge me extra to re-arrange the time. Thanks to Marcus, everything was resolved without incidence.

I've made a 300-mile move due to change of work. My experience with the people at American Van Lines from the moving consultant down to the crew was good. Their productivity was very good.

I got an advertisement in the mail box about American Van Lines and they were great. The moving consultant knew what he was talking about. The only complaint I have is that they forgot to put the center rail on my bed. I didn't realize it until I went to bed that night. Everything else went all right.

American Van Lines was good. The drivers were professional and knew what they were doing. We ended up with one broken cable; everything else is okay and we did not file a claim. The big issue that we had was I had called for a quote and they were too busy to come after they hounded me. So we went through it over the phone. And when the drivers came they said that they don't move anything in bags which nobody told me and that if I wanted them moved, I would have to either pay them for cash under the table or call back later for another quote. The move was seven or eight hundred, and we ended up giving them two hundred to move something that should have been included in the quote, and I'm sure they just kept it. It wasn't even a company policy.

I was not pleased using American Van Lines. When they moved the items, there were things that were damaged and lots of things that were broken. But they didn't bring some of the items that they were supposed to have gotten, that were mine, and these are still at the previous residence. And they brought with them to my new residence some of the things that belonged at the previous location and that don't belong to me. I made them aware of that and they were supposed to have made the effort to make the changes. The move took place in August and we're now in December, and it still has not taken place. The last time I talked to them, they were saying, "Oh, it's still gonna happen," and nothing has ever happened.

Everything went fine with the American Van Lines moving consultant we dealt with, and their crew was very good. The crew leader was excellent and he walked me through all the paperwork. Also, I was impressed when one of his helpers who came out of the bedroom told me that I left some money on the counter.

It was a very good experience with American Van Lines. I had a couple broken of broken items, but that's to be expected in a move. Everything, including the moving crew, was very good, excellent and right on target with the estimate.

I've been using American Van Lines for years and everything went on schedule perfectly during my move with them last July. I actually felt bad for them because it was very hot and they worked hard. They were so polite and nice. It was very helpful that their driver kept in touch, so I knew exactly what time to meet him. They were very efficient and on time.

I was very happy for the most part. I had only one piece of furniture that was damaged and that is because they screwed the mounting screws too far in and they came through the front of the wood. If it wasn't for that it would have been a perfect move. I can live with that! The only other problem was they could not deliver all the furniture at once. That would have been ok except the 4 pieces they could not deliver one was the dryer. I would have chosen a different piece. The washer was delivered and the dryer is kind of important so we could wash clothes. Just some constructive suggestions. The people I dealt with were all OUTSTANDING employees and did your company proud. I would recommend you to anyone who asks me if I know a GOOD moving company!

Moving is always stressful. Overall I was very pleased with American Van lines. The only frustration I had was some of the follow up from customer service on the exact time frame of pick up and delivery. Once the movers did arrive, they were amazing! Lexus, John and Patrick were the nicest guys and incredibly professional! If and when I move again, I will specify that I want them as my "moving team"!

I'd recommend American Van Lines. I had a couple of moving coordinators that I worked with and for the most part they were responsive when I asked them questions about delivery dates, they will just get the information needed and either call or e-mail me. The crew during my move was also very nice and I was pleased with them. They got done very quickly and nothing was damaged.

Overall it was a good experience. Movers showed up within the promised time and completed the job without delays considering only two people came instead of the three that were promised in the estimate. During unloading I only had a minor issue that was addressed right away.

We had a good experience moving with American Van Lines. Everything was on time and everybody did a nice job. We are missing a little bit of our Christmas display but we don't know if it was still on the truck or somehow it got misplaced. I like my interaction with their moving consultant. The moving guys were also good. The only problem that we had was the day was that when they load it up that the guy told me, "Give me a price." And I told him I wouldn't go with him, unless that was the exact price that I was gonna pay. I also told him that I was gonna call the cops if you didn't take my stuff back off or give me the same price. I paid for the original quoted price.

The movers show up at 10:30 on November 24. As soon as they arrived, we went over the contract documentation, and the energetic team of three movers started to protect all the furniture to be loaded in the truck. They worked carefully at very high speed avoiding any damage to the articles to be transported. We were pleasantly surprise of their professionalism completing this first step of their labor. Really we were amazed by having such kind of professional workers. They proceeded to load the truck and I inspected the loading operation and accommodation of the furniture to prevent any damage during its transportation to Riviera Beach.

I checked online for moving companies and American Van Lines got good ratings so I contacted them. Their consultant was very good and helpful. I enjoyed talking to him and we went through the move room by room. It was a rather difficult situation because the neighborhood streets were narrow so the driver had difficulty, but he was really good.

We are moving and I was looking for a moving company and I got an estimate from Bekins, then one from American Van Lines. And because American was so much cheaper, we went with them. The consultant was very good and the guys who helped on the day of the move were productive and they liked my dog.

I used American Van Lines last year and had a good experience even though the experts were giving timelines that are different than the actual ones. But, it was a good service and their people gave good support which made it a lot more easy.

I'm happy with my experience with American Van Lines. Their crew was fine, until it came time to pay. We had cash set out and they couldn’t take the cash for some reason. They couldn’t process the payment so it took me about three weeks to get the refund that they were going to give us on Monday.

I looked up a piano moving on the internet, and I might have called some local people, and they told me that I needed to call a moving company, and so I looked American Van Lines up that way. They were great and very efficient. They got there right at the appropriate time.

I went online and read reviews about all the different movers. American Van Lines was the only one that continued to correspond with me out of the ones I picked. I didn't have much response with the coordinator but the guy I exchanged emails with was fabulous. He’s the first contact I had through email and when I sent him an email if he could give me a call, he called me in five minutes. Our move was out of the ordinary because it was in two locations in two different towns that had to be picked up and I was very pleased with absolutely everything. I didn't have to be at the pickup in Wilson. They coordinated with the storage place and got everything out. We love the great people that we had and everything went like clockwork. I can't praise them enough. It has been worry free.

They were able to resolve my issue. One other thing that pains me right now is, this was before they delivered the goods and once they delivered, there was damage, so that is an issue I am dealing with now with them. But the issue I posted before, that has been resolved. They were able to compensate me by a couple hundred dollars, again, this all took place before my actual things got delivered to my house. But once it was delivered, I noticed that it was not packed properly initially so there was a lot of damage in there. Now it's on my part to go back and claim for the damaged goods.

Wonderful guys, the moving went very well.

The moving coordinator was very helpful. He walked me through the process and was all pushy on the quote but the quote was one of the best ones I've heard so I was happy to pursue American Van Lines. There's another lady who I only interacted with via email when she set up the date. They took care of everything. The moving crew was also great. I enjoyed them because they were helpful, polite, smooth and seemed like they were taking care of stuff. They had all the tools and boxes ready to go. I had packed myself, but there were a few awkward things that I didn't know how to pack and they were like, "Oh, don't worry about it", and they took care of it right away. It was a good experience overall.

Our pick up was on time, our estimate was accurate and the packing crew did an excellent job of carefully wrapping our items. The delivery was equally prompt and just as carefully executed. Nothing was broken, damaged or even scratched! We thought that this was remarkable task. We are appreciative of the work of Bernie **, Latoya, John, Lexis and Patrick during this stressful time in our lives.

I searched for moving companies and American Van Lines is the one that top rated on consumer reports. The moving coordinator who assisted me was good and he walked me through the process. He was very easily accessible whenever I need to make any kind of changes or kind of questions that will come up. And we were very confident with the information he told us because you don't meet the people until they come out there moving and it was a little scary but he was very good with it. He was also the moving consultant who helped me plan out the details of the move and he did a great job.

AVL's moving coordinator was wonderful and the moving consultant was perfect. We had a short notice and they helped us out when no one else could so we were very pleased. Furthermore, the moving crew were fine. Overall, I am very happy with American Van Lines.

I contracted the services of American Van Lines back in 2002 when I moved from New York to Florida. They were very good and overall my experience with them was fine.

I'm very happy with the drivers and the packers, but very dissatisfied with the coordinator and the estimator. Estimator was rude and overestimated dramatically the amount of furniture. I described to her that we had moved less than six months prior and I had the actual move ticket so I knew exactly the poundage that we had. She still had me go through the entire house and inventory it, and then she added all of that weight onto the ticket I already had, which increased the estimate by quite a bit. She added approximately 3000 pounds, so that was not a good way to start.

My overall experience using American Van Lines is excellent. The people that came in to do the move were just really, really good and really personable. They were moving my 90-year old dad who was still sleeping at that time. He went out of his way to get there early before my dad was up and it was perfect. He was quiet and it was good.

We moved out of the area so I googled moving companies in Broward County. We had a couple of bids, but American Van Lines were one of the few that actually came to the house and I appreciated that as others did it over the phone. The movers were very accommodating. I had them do some things at the house that we were moving to that I felt was sort of above and beyond and they were very kind in doing it. They're good.

I got a new job so I have to move to a different place. The moving coordinator from American Van Lines was able and polite. The moving consultant who helped us plan the details of the move was also good, so everything went smoothly. The crew was professional and they packed up everything very quickly and carefully. Everything else was good, except for the way they handled my furniture. When they returned my stuff to me several days later, some of the furniture was damaged. I don't know what they do to my stuff during the trip because it seems like they've been kicking into it, so I wasn't very happy about it.

The process with American Van Lines was efficient. It took about as long as what we thought. They did a good job.

The guys were efficient, professional and courteous. They worked diligently to make my move a good experience. I would definitely use American Van Lines again and I would recommend my friend use you also.

The moving coordinator was very, very nice and helpful. He was great during the consultation going over the details of our move. The moving crew that came to our house are above and beyond. And because they were so good, my daughter just made a seven hour move from Raleigh, North Carolina to Knoxville, Tennessee and she also used AVL. That's been a month and she was just as pleased as I was.

I was quoted one price and then told it would be $200 more because of where the truck was coming from. Then another mover was sent for pick up! ADI was excellent and I have nothing but good things to say about them.

Dave, Jessie and Tyrone were hard working and courteous. Dave in particular managed the process and me like he was family and had my best interest at heart. I would highly recommend this particular team of guys and the company any time.

The ordering and scheduling was somewhat of an issue but once completed everything went smoothly. I would suggest that when using subcontractors that they understand it is important to communicate and not be more interested in potentially increasing the price. On the American side things went well.

From the first contact with American Van lines and throughout the move, they kept me up to date on the progression of the move from schedule, pickup and delivery. The complete staff from sales to manager to the movers were very professional.

MBM is a professional moving service from the initial conversation, packing, and unloading at the new property. The services allowed me to focus on my new job, while MBM focused on getting me relocated with minimal pressure on me. The movers were friendly, yet professional. They did a great job packing and unloading, eliminating fear of damage to my property. Leslie was equally valuable. She was readily available to answer my questions and provide direction.

Very pleased with my entire experience. Marcus was extremely invaluable in this move. The two individuals that delivered my furniture were very polite and worked VERY HARD. I will definitely use American Van Lines again when we move from Florida next year.

I had gotten many estimates for my move from Brooklyn, NY to St. Pete, FL. American van lines was not the cheapest and I knew I wouldn't go for the cheapest. I went to their website and they have the best reviews of all moving companies. So that's when I hired them! They walked me through everything and I want to say they really held my hand in this devastating ordeal, from the office to the physically moving guys! They were all great! I was nervous and they never lost their cool with me. They understood how hard a move like this could be and were really understanding and comforting! They care! That's all that you need to make any move local or long distance! I talked to the office! I talked to the driver. I knew exactly where my stuff was at almost every given moment. Cooperation is key and they never minded all my calls! I would highly recommend American Van lines for all your moving needs!

I contracted with American but never heard from them after we signed. The job was done by Affordable Van Lines out of NJ. Communications with both American and Affordable was poor. Otherwise the move went well. The truck delivered all the items in good condition and the men doing the delivery were nice.

Things I'm happy about: Having watched the crew load and unload the truck, they treated my belongings with care and did an excellent and organized job of making sure the items were secure in the truck. The large items I did not pack myself and had them protect, and they did a great job. The driver and crews at both locations were hard workers and never once did I see any of them treat any of my items differently than I would have treated them myself.

Everything was outstanding. The movers were kind and helpful. They are patient and attentive to any request I had. I did not have a single thing damaged from my goods. The total delivery time took right at two weeks which was accurate from my quote. The price was fair and there were no hidden cost. I would recommend American for future use.

Somewhat expensive with moving a 600 sq ft apartment, but the service was very good, both in picking and delivery. The men who did the job were very good in taking care in not damaging anything.

I was hesitant in hiring a moving company because of all the terrible stories you hear, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. 3 guys came, on-time within 30 minutes of the window. They worked tirelessly. In the end, when it came time to pay, I was waiting for the big "Sorry you had more stuff" story, "we had to charge you $200.00 more" but I paid EXACTLY what I was quoted. I used them for an office move and would definitely use them to move my household as well. We had a very good experience with them.

The move was good except the length of time it took for them to bring up my furniture from Florida. Over 24 days after first available date?

We could not have been more pleased with the service, from the booking / estimate process to the polite, expedient staff who did the actual move. We experienced customer service at its finest. The movers were timely, considerate, neat and took great care of our belongings. I would recommend their services and request them specifically for the future. We loved Wade and Jay.

American Van Lines setup my move from Albuquerque, NM to Delaware. The moving van arrived on Thursday Oct. 22nd and with the driver and the mover. It took them 7 hours to load the truck. They very carefully packed the van and the driver told me that they would arrive in Delaware within 7-10 days. The mover (Alex) called me on Tuesday Oct. 27th and said the van would arrive in Delaware the next day.

I was pleased with the customer service from Victor and Christie. The movers were hard working and did a great job for me and I would be happy to recommend to anyone who is moving.

I was told via phone call by the driver that he would arrive Tuesday from the hours of 2-6pm. The driver did in fact arrive on Tuesday as planned, but two hours later. Otherwise, our furniture and assorted belongings were all in tact.

Following the above review, I was contacted by a VP who took matters into his own hands and took the time to listen to all that had transpired during my move. Although there were issues behind the scene internally leading to some of the problem, he agreed that the breakdown in communication to myself, the customer needed to be addressed. I was very impressed with the time he took and his genuine concern and believe they are taking measures internally to ensure this doesn't happen again.

From start to finish, the three movers were polite, friendly and professional. They packed up everything in a timely and efficient manner. Once we arrived at our final destination, they were quick to unload the truck. A tiny bracket from a bookshelf had fallen out of its place. They searched the truck till they found it. We were very pleased with how the entire move went and I would highly recommend American Van Lines to anyone. Thank you!

American Van Lines moved us 680 miles, requiring a shuttle truck at each end, and accomplished the door-to-door move over a period of 7 days, perfectly working around our home settlement priorities at the front and back end of the period. We had a three man moving team (Patrick, Tom and Keith) who worked well together, maintained a very respectful relationship and good sense of humor, despite the requirement to load each of the 687 inventory items 4 times!

I found American Van Lines on the Consumer Affairs website. They had many positive reviews and given the distance and complexity, I chose them. I was waiting on my home to close so I needed my belongings to go into storage in their facility in Texas for a few weeks. They were extremely attentive to my needs. The final quotes came in lower than the original, a terrific thing. They were able to recommend a business partner for long distance auto transport which went very well.

Everyone I encountered with American Van Lines was always very nice and understanding when I spoke to them. Angela and Victor always answered my calls or emails on a timely manner and they tried their best to help deal with the problems that came about. My only negative feedback was at times it felt there was miscommunication between parties (i.e. American Van Lines, movers, etc.). This caused problems with reserving elevators and booking flights because movers were not informed they were no longer delivering my stuff due to issues with COI. Even though this issues happened, Victor and Angela were always willing to speak to me everyday and try to figure things out. I also did not like how the movers took apart furniture that did not need to be. I ended up having to figure out how to put these larges pieces together alone after delivery. In the end, I would recommend American Van Lines.

I checked online for the company who had the best customer satisfaction reviews and American Van Lines was among the top ones. They certainly deserve it. They worked with us all through the move, kept open communication lines, and gave us a fair price. The moving crew arrived at the promised times, they were friendly and polite, and things got to destination in one piece. The only thing that did not worked perfectly was the weight estimation which came in low. They presented me with a higher bill at pick up, but since I had requested a binding estimate they revised it to the original agreement. If the price had been any higher I would not have been able to afford it. I would have rented a U-Haul truck and simply move with my family's help, as I did on my last move. I hope that the estimation of the weight can be more accurate in the future so everyone, especially the moving crew, can work with reliable information.

I moved household items from Maryland to California and chose American Van Lines because, after much research, they were one of the top rated by Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau. They were not cheap, but the agent did work with me and we were able to apply some discounts and get the price down a bit, which helps. The personal attention there was key. I was not present at pick up but my in-laws said the movers were very careful and did a great job. I received my things just under 2 weeks later, which was amazing. Everything was accounted for (I submitted a very detailed list that I checked 3 times). Nothing was broken or damaged.

The guys that moved us were very friendly and took good care of our belongings.

Fast, very concerned for our furniture. Like how the large pieces were wrapped in blankets then taped down. Price was right. At the new place they asked where each pc should go. Cleaned up nice. Very professional.

The driver was late and not only that, failed to call me; I had to call him to inquire the reason. We had initially agreed that pick-up would be on Saturday with delivery on Monday; somehow this had all changed (who initiated the change is a mystery to this date...) Estimated weight was 8,000 lbs.; on Sunday morning, the driver reported the final weight at about 7,800 lbs. Then, surprise! Real weight was 9100 lbs.!

Movers were great. Did an excellent job moving and delivering everything. Everyone I had contact with at the company did a great job with customer service and communicating with me about my move.

I was pleased with the men moving our stuff. They were professional, timely and treated our stuff with care. Hopefully will never need their help again but if the occasion arises I would definitely use them again. I would also recommend them to someone needing to move.

American Van Lines was always in contact with me to provide status updates, answer any questions I had. The move (packing) process was extremely efficient and thorough. The vendor on the delivery side used was exceptionally efficient, checking off each box in the inventory as it was delivered. Would DEFINITELY use this service again and recommend to anyone moving!

Movers were very professional and helpful.

I was pleased overall with the company and its sub-contractor Dann Moving. The initial contact and customer service was very smooth and proceeded without issue. The only issue we encountered was with the representative we were assigned after we had set the terms of our move, who did not return phone calls, but the sub-contractor was very efficient and helpful, and provided outstanding customer service.

From the first I was treated with respect, humor and kindness. Khadezia was the person who made me want to go with American. Victor continued with the great service (although it would be nice if you could reach them on the weekends or at least someone if you have a question). The driver Dennis and his helper Ali along with the extra help of Matt and Mikey in Colorado and Rhett in Oregon made the experience great. They were funny, helpful, considerate, at times moved too quickly and dropped a couple things, but made sure they were ok.

I can say that I was told all of the good and bad of the move. I think that company support line was great.

American Van Lines gave me a estimate and they stuck to it. The price for the move was very reasonable and everything arrived undamaged and no lost items. The driver was very courteous and friendly. If I have to move again, I will call American Van Lines. There is no shortage of moving companies; unfortunately, many are dishonest and unreliable. I feel very fortunate, after having used several bad movers in the past, to finally find one that cares about the quality of their work.

I chose American Van Lines to stay away from some of the local movers after I had a bad experience from one of the local movers last year. American Van Lines showed great professionalism all along. From the sales rep, to Quality Assurance, to the driver everyone kept me up well informed on the next steps. I had my goods delivered ON TIME. 5 stars to them. Will recommend them anytime.

I felt American Van Lines gave a thorough and professional experience for our move. The planning phase was excellent, even though I underestimated my move by 100%! The moving day, the driver came with plenty of room on the truck despite my underestimation. The delivery was quick and within 3 business days for a 1000+ mile move. The only concern I had was regarding the hired help on the move day and the delivery day. The driver stated he hired help from a Craigslist ad, and they were late to show up and seemed unprofessional. I would say this was an issue on the sub-contracted driver company, not on American Van Lines. This is why Professionalism is given a 3 star out of 5.

Team of Richard and Tori were wonderful. Responsive to the need and made the move uneventful.

We had a very good experience with American Van Lines overall. They performed as they described in the sales pitch and were pretty accurate on the timeline, weight and cost. They did call to ask if they could pick up our material 2 days early which lead us to believe we would get our delivery early but as it turned out, the delivery was almost two weeks after pickup but within the promised delivery window. The team we had was very careful, conscientious and courteous.

A few days after publishing this review, a customer service rep finally provided me with the paperwork and the receipts I needed. Dave, a manager from American Vans Lines also called and followed up with me to ensure my issues had been taken care of.

From the moment I submitted my estate from American Van Lines, until the moment they delivered my worldly possessions to my new home, I received the most exceptional customer service. The movers were friendly, they didn't rush, they took time to wrap my expensive belongings and they even set up my furniture when they delivered it. This was my second time using AVL and I can't thank them enough for their assistance!

MBM was very thorough and communicative throughout the process. Other than a delay in pick up due to mechanical issue with the truck, everything was very smooth. Delivery timeline exceeded our expectations.

Was overall very good, the only problem was a 3 week delay getting my things delivered. The workers were very professional and put everything together for me. Also, at pick up, the workers were friendly and packed items for me and explained everything to me. The customer service people were very helpful when I called and kept me informed at both pick up and delivery .

To start with American Van Lines handed off my move to a subsidiary called MBM moving systems. In turn, they contracted it out to a podunk single truck company. I was told I would get 24 hours notice before they showed. My move was scheduled for between 9/22 and 9/24 with a preferred date of 9/22. On the morning of 9/21 I emailed the person in charge of my move since they had not notified me of a move. I figured a move was coming later, so I delayed packing the last of my things. At 3:30 p.m. I get a message that they are in fact coming the next morning. We then stay up until 1 a.m. packing the rest of our things.

He knew how to move furniture, disassemble, load the truck as Reggie laid out. Also he was a very kind and gentle man. My wife and I are so proud of these two gentlemen and their professionalism. American Van Lines should be so proud of these two gentlemen. It was one of the top experiences of my life.

In choosing a moving company I collect estimates from 3 major moving companies in the area: American Van Lines, Graebel, and Clover (Allied Van Line Agent). American Van Lines was chosen because the salesman was very thorough in his listing of what was to be moved. He was given the weight and cubic footage of what was in storage, a listing of what was at other locations. But, what really determined our choosing American Van Lines was that the salesman went from office to office listing each item and putting everything on an easily understandable estimate. The salesman did not stop reaching out to us after he received the moving job. Each time there was a question or problem (and there are always glitches during a move) he answered the phone or called back right away, including on Friday and Saturday nights.

Our family hired American Van Lines to move our personal belongings from the NYC area to Utah. If you are so desperate that you cannot find any other moving company, or are unable to move your personal items yourself, this should be your last resort. All you have to do is read the fine print of their contract to decide if this is the company you want to hire. If your delivery is delayed past the delivery window estimate, your compensation is $30/day. If your items are damaged, the insurance coverage is 60 cents/pound. Bottom line: if you are moving a ton of garbage and don't care when it arrives, then American Van Lines is the company for you. Good luck!

I was very happy with my move and the process went very well and very smoothly. The two workers were very professional and responsible and took very good care of our possessions.

The movers were very respectful, organized & thorough. They were professional and time mindful. Took apart at Pick up and put back together when reached destination. I was well pleased & it helped move the fear I had in using movers.

I would never hire this mover again. I had my belongings stored for a few weeks while we painted our new house. I asked for a delivery date which they would not confirm. They then delivered only half of my things 2 weeks later. The remainder of my things came in 4 weeks but I was missing several expensive things. They broke an antique table as well. As far as the missing objects, they will not return my emails as to the status of my items. Horrible customer service!

Rarely do I feel comfortable recommending a company based on my experience with them. I can however honestly and without hesitation recommend American Van Lines. My experience starting with my initial phone call, to the final delivery of my furniture was top notch. I was moving to Delray Beach Florida from Lake Worth Florida and used American Van Lines for the move. The guys did a good job disassembling and reassembling all the furniture, it was heavy. They moved the furniture with ease and I only ended up with a few scratches and dings, not too bad for the tight quarters they were working in. American Van Lines moved me from Woodland, California to Peru, Illinois with a whole household of furniture, appliances, and tools. After submitting this review, the owner of the company contacted me right away about resolving some of the issues I had with our move. While I am still not one hundred percent satisfied, I feel they made a sincere effort to fix what could be fixed after the fact.

My elderly parents moved 2 weeks ago from FL to MA. I could not be more pleased with how American Van Lines helped them pack, handled their boxes and loaded their furniture. The move was scheduled to relocate my 93 YO Mother from Sebastian, FL to Somerset, KY. The driver and two helpers were phenomenal! When my mother asked where she should go/sit to be out of their way, they told her to stay where she was - they would work around her. I would definitely recommend American Van Lines to anyone that's looking for a mover.

I cannot say enough how wonderful the packers were and the driver. Our belongings were packed, shipped, and received within 6 days. Everything arrived in great condition and nothing was missing. Very helpful. I would highly recommend this moving company.

American Van Lines (MBM Movers) out of Greensboro NC, was a great moving company. Mike, David, and John were so nice and worked so hard. They were very careful with my furniture. A lot of it was antiques. Nothing was broken. Everything was in good shape just like they picked it up. I was very happy and I would recommend them to anybody that needs movers.

From the first phone call to final delivery our moving experience was very professional. The pack up team arrived on time and used great care in packing and wrapping our items. Our bedroom furniture is very heavy and on the second floor - no complaining or comments, they just moved it. We stored our property in the American Van Lines facility in Pompano - it was really like two moves even so all of the packing boxes arrived in perfect condition. All of our furniture was well wrapped and arrived without a scuff.

My dining room suite was packed and moved to a storage facility. The move was done in short time with no damage.

I needed a good moving company to move me from Garner, NC to Asheville, NC. Since my company was not moving me, I needed a low-cost moving company with a great reputation. I searched the internet for such a company. I read excellent reviews about American Moving Company. They provided me with an estimate and able to meet my demands of packing in one day and delivering the next. I am happy to say they were able to meet my demands. Chad, DJ and Jessie took care in packing all my items, as if they were packing their own items. The following day Chad and Jessie brought my household goods to me. There was a problem with their vehicle and they call me to inform me they would be about an hour late on the delivery.

I contacted American Van Lines and had received a so-called "Binding Estimate". I had contacted another very reputable moving company and they came to my home and did an on-site estimate. They were a little more expensive, and American Van Lines also moved our military troops, so I went with them. In the meantime, we sold a lot of furniture and moved a 16' truck load of furniture and pictures and other household items. I called and estimate was adjusted accordingly. Moving day finally arrives, and the first comment by the driver - only at my garage, "is there is a lot more than anticipated?"

I chose American Van Lines based on their five-star rating on ConsumerAffairs and the customer reviews. I called and spoke with Tim who was very friendly and professional. He kept me informed of the details of the move. My elderly mother sold her house in Port Saint Lucie and was moving to a second floor condo in Stuart. She has a heavy Thomasville dining room set and also an antique solid mahogany poster queen size bed along with solid cherry nightstands, dresser and armoire.

We moved from the Boston Area to Florida. Let me start by saying from my first conversation with William who set up the move for me I was given customer service plus. No false promises. He just wanted to make sure he could give me an accurate fair price. He followed up with me throughout the process. Then on moving day we met Lexis and his team and they loaded my house full of furniture and boxes on the truck, wrapping each item so carefully. They were polite, knowledgeable, professional and friendly which set us at ease. Moving is very stressful but not with Lexis and his team! They took pride in their profession and American Van Lines are fortunate to have them!

I found all concerned with my move very professional & helpful. The quotes on price and weight I found very fair and right on. The packing and loading of my items was done with great professionalism and care. All in all it was a very stress free move.

We moved from a very remote, hilly location in GA to a development in FL. Our moving men were quick, conscientious and careful.

My mom and I had just lost her husband, my father, in May and my mom made the decision to move back to her hometown. This was an incredibly stressful time, but American Van Lines made this a good experience for us for our first out of state move. We dealt with Matthew on the phone scheduling the van and he was wonderful. The men that came to load the van and unload were wonderful and friendly. The only reason I wouldn't give 5 stars was because I felt confused talking to people handling Quality Relocation Inc. that did the actual moving van part. I didn't realize up front that they worked with American Van Lines and was confused because the man had a foreign accent. Other than that, the move went well and smooth.

After writing my negative review, AVL contacted me and helped resolve this issue. One of the managers reviewed the telephone recorded conversations between my husband and the estimator. It seems as though the initial conversations for the estimate were based on weight however once we signed the binding contract, it was set as a flat rate - which wasn't clear to us at that time. The manager I spoke with was very accommodating, and refunded the difference in the weight plus a bit extra for our dissatisfaction. I appreciate the customer service on the tail end of the transaction.

We moved our household from SC to NC. The move went as planned on the day it was suppose to happen and household items were delivered the next day. Movers took great care with furniture and belongings. We had an issue with our wood floors in the kitchen were scratched and the company paid for the repairs needed very fast. I'm very happy with the service provided. Also price matched the estimate for the move.

The move was accomplished successfully. The loaders handled everything in an efficient manner and everything was delivered intact. The biggest glitch was that we provided American Van Lines with an estimate of the items to be moved which was too low. If the company had been able to send an inspector to verify their own estimate, I think the loading would have been more efficient. As it was the initial truck was too small and so the loading continued through another day. Nevertheless everything was handled well.

After my review was posted I received a call from the owner. He was very apologetic and confirmed that my advance money was refunded but it took long in processing time. I did eventually received credit back. The owner explained that due to unavoidable circumstances they were unable to provide service. He sounded sincere and regretful. He has assured me that they are constantly trying to improve their service and their system. He even offered to compensate me to offset the increased cost that I had to bear. I am satisfied and have reached a settlement.

After our original complaint, we received several calls from the owner of the company. He was very quick in resolving our issues and frustration we've had. Because of his quick response to resolving the issues, we have changed our rating to 5-star. We will not hesitate to use American Van Lines in the future.

I wrote to customer service at 4 pm on Saturday since their office was closed. The owner of the company then tracked down the movers and they were at my place within couple of hours. They moved by stuff - 750 miles away within 48 hrs and my stuff was delivered on Monday - which was exceptional and excellent management.

The move was handled professionally and we were happy with the pickup and delivery.

The owner called to apologize and explained to me that their company was extremely busy and any slight of duty on their part was unintended. I posted earlier this week about American Van Lines having the wrong move date. They have since apologized and refunded my deposit in full.

I signed all contracts and gave my deposit to be moved from Georgia to Maine and was called four days before the move and told the company had to cancel as the truck was out of service. There isn't another moving company available as this is the busiest time of the year, so we have had to rent a truck and will move ourselves. Being senior citizens, this heavy work is not something we look forward to.

Our moving crew was very professional and polite. They exceeded our expectations. I would definitely recommend American Van Lines to anyone who needs a moving company. Customer service was excellent and the price was great.

The whole process was done online. Excellent information provided. Immediate response when called or emailed. Furniture properly wrapped with nothing damaged. Upon delivery, the two men had to park the truck down our street and carry the furniture down an icy road. It was below zero on the day of our move. They were very nice and professional despite really awful conditions.
