I will never, ever go to any Great Clips again (Issaquah, WA). The woman who cut my hair should be in another profession. She apparently didn't understand anything I said. Even though I told her exactly what I wanted done with my hair, all she did was give me grief.

Great Clips on May Avenue - Address: 6315 May Ave, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73112. Decided to get my hair cut yesterday and found a cute picture of shoulder cut hair. Literally just to the shoulders, nothing special. Well, I go up there, everyone is nice. I wait and wait, then it’s my turn. I sit in the chair and show her the picture of what I was wanting. She says okay and starts cutting. Weird thing happened though, she had me put my head down as far as I could and she started cutting the back. It came out horribly. She redid my bangs and cut them way shorter than I wanted and basically butchered my hair. It was a straight across cut, no long layers or thinning at all. My hair was wet down so I didn’t notice until I got home how bad it was. The back is waaaay shorter than the front and it would look cute if the front wasn’t super uneven. There are chop marks all over.

So, I called back up there and they told me to come back in and that they would fix it. She’s acting super nervous and starts making me put my head down AGAIN and cutting the under layer in the back. Comes out choppy again. She tries to thin it out and can’t so she calls a colleague over to help. She shows her how to do it and goes back to whatever she was doing. So she tries to thin it out, makes one snip and she makes this terrified face and calls her back over. So the other lady finishes it, but it feels like it hasn’t even been thinned out. So I ask again, to please thin it out. It still isn’t thinned out. So I say thanks and I leave. Now, they won’t give me a refund. The lady told me we could get a refund when the manager was in but apparently they don’t do refunds. So now I’m out $16 with a crappy haircut and now I have to go pay $40 to get it professionally cut since they do not know what they are doing. I am beyond ** and will NOT be going back.

It is not worth it, even at the cheap cost. The entire time, the lady who was cutting my hair was not paying attention and was cutting my hair at random. She somehow turned my pixie cut into a choppy bowl cut. I had sections of hair that were long next to sections of hair the were haphazardly cut very short. It ruined my important pictures that I had to take, and I had to go to another salon to get it fixed as much as possible.

At around 5:45 pm Wednesday, April 24, 2019, my two daughters and I, as well as other customers, were made to wait while hairdresser, "Ashley", took her sweet time flirting with customer, "Jose". Moreover, Ashley somehow "magically" bumped her customer of choice "Jose" and his buddy to the top of the check-in list, when it was my daughter's and other customer's turn to be waited on. Sadly, we sat there watching as Ashley used customer's and the store's time to make social points with the young man she was interested in, as we continued to wait.

All this while, the other poor hairdresser, on the same shift, struggled to wait on customers (neglected by Ashley's social hour with "Jose"). I give Great Clips in Highland, on Greenspot Rd, one star. If the system allowed for zero, I would give it a ZERO. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I left SICK to my stomach on how TACKY and UNPROFESSIONAL hairdresser, "Ashley" conducted herself and treated customers waiting to be given service. We left after an hour of waiting, without haircuts. Don't waste your time coming to this place or ask who is on the floor cutting hair, if you hear "Ashley" don't bother coming in.

I took my Mom to the Great Clips in Bridgeton for a haircut. Her hair has a lot of heat damage and she wanted it cut all the way down (she was ok with having 2 to 3 inches of hair left). When she got in the chair she explained to the stylist that she wanted it cut down, but the stylist did what she wanted to do and only clipped her ends. I walked over to ask her why she wasn't giving my Mom a full haircut and she said if she cut off the damage she would have to cut too much off. What, that's exactly what we wanted! She refused to cut it, it was like she just wanted to rush to the next patron. I was furious when we left there to say the least! Never going back to that location. She didn't offer to try to make it right when she saw that it wasn't what she wanted. Hate when people handle their business like that. You never let a customer leave your business dissatisfied!

I took my two boys age 12 and 2 to the Great Clips on Douglas downtown and hated the experience I had for for two year old. At first my son didn't want to put the cape on and as I'm trying to get him to comply Ryan, the stylist, starts counting down from 5 to my son... Not sure what his plan was when he got to one but that was my first red flag. After I got my son to wear the cape he sat in the chair on his own but would turn his head being distracted by others. My son kept saying he was hurt and I kept telling him that getting hair but doesn't hurt. Then a few minutes later my son turned his head and said "aow" and Ryan told him that he will pull his hair to get it cut so don't move his head. After that I held my son's head straight so that we could get through the haircut without causing a scene but we will never be back.

My wife bought a shampoo from the Great Clips (Johns Creek, Suwanee, Georgia) on March 14 2019. She is a cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy that resulted her losing her hair. She used the shampoo once a week later and had severe allergic reaction (itching and boils etc). We took the shampoo back to store today (April 4, 2019) with the receipt (Ticket # **) and explained to one of the associates and the manager what happened. They understood my wife position but said that had to check with the owner of this franchise. So the manager called him and he told them that they are not allowed to accept the shampoo since it is passed 15 days return policy. This return policy was not shown on the receipt or anywhere in the store.

My wife then asked to exchange it with another brand of shampoo and the manager called the owner again and he refused to do that too. We thanked the store associate and manager for their effort and left the store trying to figure out the meaning of the following statement on the bottom of our receipt: “Great Clips commitment: Your complete satisfaction on all services and products is fully guaranteed!”. I do not think this was honored by the owner of the franchise at all. Just be aware if you trying to purchase anything from this store.

I guess she didn’t know what a square was because she ended up moving up a little as she attempted to square it off, leaving me with a diagonal line. Another time, another barber messed up the whole things and gave me a, “It’ll grow back quickly.” Shouldn’t have even paid. They really don’t know what they’re doing there.

I didn't want to give any star, but it won't allow me to write a review without choosing one. That's the only reason I chose one star! I went to Great Clips in Big Bay Point Road, Barrie, Ontario for a haircut. I had my layers grown all over and just wanted a trim. I explained it to the lady and she started as if she got what I wanted. After playing on my hair for a very long time she said it was done! No layers at all but just had snipped here and there. When I pointed out that she asked if I have a picture of the style I wanted to, which she didn't ask before starting and I expected a professional hairstylist to know what a simple ‘layer cut’ is!

I tried to google for one and showed her. She said ‘well... The picture has long hair and your hair is short. And it's hard to get layers on short hair.’ Seriously??? I never knew that! And I had shoulder length hair until she chopped it to a total mess! Very unfriendly and unprofessional staff. I would never go back there or recommend anyone!

The lady told me "sit down" and I told her my mother is taking my braids out. She said "I can take your braids out, sit down". I asked if I could get someone else to cut my hair and she asked me why and I told her "because you’re not very friendly" and then I left. She was very nasty and rude. I had been this location in past and got a so so haircut but decided to try it again. The first time they cut hair shorter than I asked but it wasn't horrible. So I called up and asked if they were doing the 7.99 sale special. She said, "Yes and you just need to go online and get the coupon." I searched and found the coupon that said Great Clips, for Arizona. I arrive and wait a bit after I did the call ahead seating which wasn't too long. I get a hair specialist and present my coupon. She shows it to someone else and they say, "This isn't the right coupon. We need the other coupon for this special." I asked, "Is the other coupon online and for same price." They say it is. I tell them I search and this is what I found online.

Even though it was for same price haircut and this was the same time they were doing a coupon they refused to accept it. They should be more accommodating to customers that attempt to go through their process. They made my decision each of giving them a second chance. I will no longer go to this location and I have a bad feeling about Great Clips now.

I tipped the stylist because frankly I don’t see many tips in her near future and feel bad for her lack of vision/skill set. Also she needs to sharpen her electric clippers. I had a bad experience in Great Clips. I was looking to cut my hair shoulder length and decided to go to Great Clips to give it a try, ignoring the fact that my dad had a negative experience earlier, hoping it would be different for me. The hairdresser was very uncommunicative, I was hoping she could help me figure out what look to go for but she didn't say anything. She dampened my hair a little and brushed it, causing it to frizz up, then she cut off chunk and asked if it was okay. It made me very nervous since all the other times I've cut my hair, the hairdresser properly washed it and cut it bit by bit.

When she was done cutting my hair with no precision or talent she brushed it even more (since my hair is wavy it frizzed a lot) and left it like that. In the end, I walked out with a ball of frizzed, cauliflower hair that was too short and neither straight, wavy or curly. Overall, it was a negative experience and I certainly won't be going there again. I don't recommend anyone to go there, very bad quality.

Lately realized how bad and how far one can go to show their aggressiveness. ** was the stylist and unfortunately she is the Manager and she was so rude and rude is not enough to describe her behavior and arrogance. We have been to this location multiple times and we had mixed experience. Sometimes staff being rude, sometimes OK and sometimes good. This is close by to my place and so we just kept going. But never checked the reviews. BIG BIG Mistake from my side which resulted in a Horrible experience today 3/6/2019 around 6;15 PM.

She stopped hair cut for my son (6 yr old) in the middle and asked us to leave. Yes you read it right. Stylist called ** (she is claiming to be the Manager). ** embarrassed me and my son in front of others. If you don't like to serve people from other Race/Ethnicity, please place a board outside about the same so that we won't get humiliated by the staff and that too in front of others.

She was so arrogant from the beginning. Doing hair cut to a 6 year old boy like doing it to a grown up man. She is ordering him with strong voice. She told me that "My Son is not mannered". How can she says that??? How is Great Clips choosing these kind of arrogant people as Managers? She don't have any patience. I am very much depressed with her actions. Had to chose a star otherwise it is not letting me to post the review. Otherwise NO Star. I am looking for all available options including an attorney for this Humiliation.

I went back about 3 Months later to get my hair trimmed and they hacked my hair to pieces. The underlayer of my hair is an inch and a half longer than the top layer. It is super uneven and it is longer in the back than the front. I am super unhappy with the way my hair looks. I went back in so they could re cut it and they had to take off another 2 inches to get it to look normal. A lot shorter than I wanted my hair.

It wasn't not even close to the picture. I literally commented that I didn't want any of the front cut or the back cut as short as what she was cutting and she told me that this is what she thinks I should have. That it would be easy to take care of. :-(

Then she told me never to ask her to cut my hair again. I left in tears and was sick to my stomach the rest of the day. I've posted two pictures. She ought to be summarily fired!

Of course it will grow back but in the interim am looking at at least 18 months of seclusion - I don't want to see anyone or go anywhere. In addition to the hairpiece I have since purchased a good professional pair of shears & will learn to trim my own hair and never again will another person ever ever ever again touch my hair! Ever! This entire experience has ended up costing a sea of tears and over $1,000 by the time the hairpiece & the shears were purchased - I bought the best I could find because it is after all for me and I deserved better than what I received here. There is at least 18 months of damage, at least that was incurred in a few short seconds - this is no place for women - it is high risk for any woman who values their femininity.

As soon as I sat in the chair I immediately expressed to her that I needed for her not to be scissor happy. That was the first thing I said when I sat down. I came in with three inches of natural curly hair. So I had no hair to waste. I showed her the style I wanted which I had plenty of hair to pull off. I told her I wanted it stacked in the back. She told me stack and a fade was the same. Even though I knew that was not true I also knew she had the pic right in front of her. This lady cut all my hair off and gave me a fade. The same hair cut my son gets. She cut it all off the to the point where my hair couldn't make any curls in the back and front. She only needed to stack the back and cut a little off the top and sides. I left with one inch of hair and a fade. No curls.

There is no doubt that she did it on purpose. I couldn't get any more clear on what I wanted. There was even a point when she said I look nervous and I said, "That's because I am afraid of you cutting too much." She told me to trust her two times and I did. Worst mistake of my life. She cut it all off. I felt so ugly and I know that's what she wanted. When I came in the shop my hair was longer than the pic I showed her but when I left my hair was shorter. I had a fade but I wanted this beautiful cut that I had more than enough hair for. Do not sit in that chair. She is scissor happy and purposely cut my hair off. She wanted me to feel ugly probably because she does deep down inside. She cut my curls off as she told me they were beautiful even though I told her I wanted them. This was at the Tara Blvd Lovejoy GA location.

I had for 20 years gone to Lucia's in the same Sarasota Clark Road Beneva shopping center. They recently closed hence my first visit to this Great Clips location. I have been to Great Clips other locations likely three times and found the price, quality, and speed sufficient. That did change when I visited the Sarasota Beneva Clark Road location Dec 8, 2018. When I walked in Dawn, the manager, entered my full name and phone number in their computer, being sure this was my first visit there, and said my wait would be 20 minutes. I asked that if I kept correct time could I go do other shopping and return, and she said yes.

I returned in exactly 20 minutes and AFTER I returned she took two other customers who were not there earlier. She told me they had checked in online and had priority. I told her I had a phone in my pocket and could have checked in online too had she told me to in order so save my space. She told me I had only been waiting 13 minutes and that online check ins always had priority. I told her that she was mistaken about the time (I wear two watches) and that my actual wait time was now 24 minutes, not the 13+ 4 that she quoted after we talked.

When we walked to their computer it showed 17 estimated and 24 actual waiting time, and the manager said that did not matter. I really don't need or want to be talking about times from a manager who is actually in error and who had not offered me a way to keep myself in line. I will choose not to return to the Sarasota Clark Road Beneva location.

I checked in online and it said my wait was 22 minutes, so I waited 25 and went in. The place was packed. And my name was at the top. Waited more than an hour and they kept taking people ahead of me who came in later. Another person who was there before me was just seen just before I left. That wasted two hours of my day. Never got a haircut. The whole concept of checking in online is to avoid any wait. This salon could care less about people's other commitments. I've been going there since they opened and will never return. They used to have several professional hairstylists, but that is no longer the case. Also, had another hairstylist at this location really goof up my hair. They usually have the longest wait time of any other local Great Clips. Poorly managed. Really a place to avoid. There are better places to go.

I thought he was kidding. After 10 minutes of shearing and reshearing the sides I concluded that he had indeed never cut hair before. I had assumed that they at least had several weeks of barber school! He then took the #5 shears and proceeded to remove nearly all the hair on the top of my head before I could stop him. He said he was sorry but he never did use a scissors & comb. Now, with more than 80% of my hair gone, I will have to wait 5-6 months before somebody competent can cut my hair.

Went to Great Clips for a hair trim and some layers 3 months after getting my perm. They guy there did not know how to cut hair or put in layers! He brushed my newly permed hair over and over till my head was numb when I left! The haircut was so awful. Another stylist had to stop him and move me to her chair to take over!!!

The haircut was unfixable and now I look like Beetlejuice! My hair was beautiful and super thick and now it is so thin and an unsitely mess where it has to be thinned so much with thinning shears just to make the layers somewhat match. Some of my perm is out now. So another year of letting my hair grow back out and another 100 for another perm!!!

I have had numerous hairstylists cut my hair over the past several years, usually with disappointing results. However, a few months ago, a young lady named Christina, cut my hair at the Concord Village Great Clips Salon at Nolensville Road and Concord Road in Brentwood, TN. I was amazed at how well she did, not just the first time, but on every occasion since the first one. And not only me. My wife has always complimented how well my hair has looked after Christina cut it.

When I asked her about her experience and why she did such a good job, Christina told me she was a recent graduate of a hairstyling school in Murfreesboro (I think those specifics are correct). I’m sure that had a strong influence on her ability, but I think it was also her attitude to do well as proven by her work. I am a 66-year-old male with the need of creativity on the part of a hairstylist because of thinning hair and a pronounced “cow-lick” on the back of my head. Most times past hairstylists would cut the “cow-lick” area that would result in my hair looking like a bristled porcupine for 2-3 weeks later. But not with Christina. Consequently, whenever I am preparing to get my haircut, I always call the Concord Village Great Clips Salon to make sure Christina is working there before I go. Thank you, Christina, for always doing a great job on my hair!

My 10/14/18 visit to the Great Clips at the Shoppes at Bethelview in Cumming, GA was one of the most horrible I’ve experienced. One, I decided to switch to this location after quality at another nearby location started dropping, in hope of finding better stylists. Taking my son to get his hair cut, we wanted to advise them what needed to be cut. From the very first interaction with April, she started with an attitude by saying abruptly that the details are in the system and that’s what she was going to do. Not knowing what that meant, we wanted to instruct her and make sure she cut enough. Once cut, we simply asked her to cut a bit more off the front and her reply was that ‘this would be the last cut’. Asking her to clarify what she meant, she wouldn’t answer the question. Up until this time, my wife was dealing with her.

When one of the other stylists looks at me and apologizes, I’m puzzled by what he’s saying, so I get up to find out what’s going on. Once I’m there, April proceeds to blame me for ‘interrupting’ her and saying to me that she has 15 mins to cut hair. I reply to her that she will cut it as long as it takes to get it right and demand to see a manager. Not knowing he’s actually directly next to us the entire time and does absolutely nothing. I demand that he deals with the situation right there and he basically blows it off. I tell them both that I will not be paying for this haircut.

I asked for their names and neither are willing to give their names. After several more attempts, April finally tells me her name. She tells me that she will not be ‘treated like a slave’. Being **, she wants to play the race card. This store needs to train their employees on how to interact with the public and to deal with situations. Their attitudes should not be tolerated. If April can’t take reasonable instruction on what the customer wants, then she shouldn’t be in that position. If the manager allows that type of employee hostility to occur, he shouldn’t be running the store. After this experience along with the recent others, I am completely done with Great Clips and will find another place to my hair cut.

    Reviewed Sept. 18, 2018

Recently my son and I had a terrible experience at Great Clips in Durant, and we will never go back. Let me first talk about how they want to put your profile in their database. Okay, so many years ago I was a regular there, and so was my mom. They justified having the need to enter your full name, phone number, and PHYSICAL address in their system, because they “like to send coupons to their clients” (not true btw). And let’s be honest, they give bad haircuts there. And they stopped sending coupons to their clients years ago, even though they used the same excuse. I even talked to the owner a couple of years ago (whose name and number used to be posted on the front window) and I told her the haircuts were getting worse in quality, and the coupons were our only reason for considering coming there. She of course told me she didn’t know why we were not getting them anymore.

So my son and I, along with my mom started going to US Hair and other places and getting good haircuts every time. Once in a while I would try Great Clips again, paying full price, just to regret it, because the haircut was bad. Then I noticed that every great once in a while there would be a coupon to Great Clips in the coupon section of the local paper, available to everyone, but not to their customers, as they claimed they would send directly to, hence why they supposedly needed all of your info put into their database, as if they were a pharmacy chain. I did not use them because of past experiences, but recently I found 2 coupons for $8.99 each, and decided (much to my stupidity) to give them another shot. So my son and I went. As soon as we got there, a girl named Mallory asked our first and last names, I told her we were not in the system, so no need to enter it.

She then asked my address and phone number. I told her we just wanted haircuts. We sat down, and then she called me, and then a dirty looking, obese, fat faced man, with balding, yet greasy hair, named Tristen called my son. I noticed there was an older, wrinkled, and weathered looking woman with a raspy voice, as if she had been smoking for all of her 70 years, in a shower cap on her head talking to the “stylists”, but seemed to be doing her own hair which I found odd. I could not hear everything my son and the greasy Tristen were discussing, but Mallory started telling me that they like to get people’s names and addresses so they can increase their business because their online rating was so bad. I told her they used to have mine, but I haven’t gotten a coupon in years while they had my name and address.

Bear in mind, I had not yet told anyone that I had coupons for my son from the sales paper yet, nor did I tell her I only came for that reason. Mallory asked me how much I wanted taken off in terms of inches. While explaining, the wrinkled up, older woman, walked up to us, and pointed to the fat greasy Tristen’s hair and said in her cigarette smoker’s voice, “that’s what 3 inches looks like”. At that moment, I realized the winkled old woman worked there, and seemed to know a lot about the greasy, obese man Tristen’s hair. It struck me as weird that she would point to his hair as an example, since he was almost bald, but oh well. After I chose to have “3 inches” taken off, Mallory started asking me multiple, personal questions, like my age, if I had kids, how many, and their ages. I was very nice to her, and she seemed to be nice too.

Shortly after, she was done with me, and I followed her to the other side of the register to pay, I presented to the coupon, and paid, and told her I wanted to pay for my son’s haircut and pay for his. I tipped her 3 dollars, because even though she had not given me a good haircut, I was happy that it was not terrible like all the other visits, and besides she seemed nice, and was very happy for my tip. I heard a strange commotion, and I could tell my son was not happy. He approached me and told me quietly that guy (Tristen) was a jerk. So even though I would have tipped Tristen just to be nice, I did not, because my son was angry about his experience. Then I found out what happened. My son told me he first asked Tristen what taking 3 inches off of his hair would look like, and then he asked about 2. Tristen told my son he should only get 1 inch taken off.

My son told him if he was going to have to pay the same for a mere trim, as a full haircut, (most other places only charge you for trim, vs. full haircut), then he might as well take 3 inches off. Then Tristen got rude with my son, and told him they “were the cheapest place in town”. Then out of the blue Tristen asked my son if he conditioned his hair after he shampoos. My son told him yes, (even though it was none of his business). Tristen then smirked, and nodded his head sarcastically, then after a pause, Tristen said, “you have really dry scalp," and usually what that means, is you are either not conditioning, or not doing a very good job. My son told him, that he has a skin condition, and naturally dry skin, and has a Doctor/Dermatologist, and knows how to take care of his own hair and scalp, and also informed him that he has a special prescribed solution to treat it.

My son told Tristen, that he is NOT a doctor, and did not know what he was talking about. Tristen, after being both rude, and intrusive, became even ruder, telling my son he “did know, what he was talking about”, and added that he had been cutting hair for “19 years”. My son informed him that he knows his own body, and has a specialist (Doctor) to treat him with prescribed medicine, and he (Tristen) did not know more than he did about his own skin, let alone a doctor, and did not need his rude insults, nor his inappropriate, and intrusive advice, when all he wanted to do was sell store hair products. After that, Tristen said, “well that’s it”, and then wandered off. So my son starts to take the apron off of himself and get up, when Tristen comes back out of nowhere and says “hey, hey, hey, leave that alone, I’m not done”! My son told him you said that “was it”, and Tristen rudely replied that he was talking to someone else.

Then, even though he said he was not done, he took the apron off my son, and said “GOD”! The next day I called to complain. I asked for the manager, whose name I was told is Karen. She got on the phone, and I immediately recognized the raspy, old woman’s voice from the day before. It was the same lady doing her own hair there, who seemed to know a lot about Tristen. She is the manager! I told her about my complaint. I told her seminar trained hair cutters, have no right to insult the customer, by ignorantly suggesting that they have bad hygiene, and further it’s not their place to give medical advice either. I didn’t even bother to tell her, that they give terrible haircuts, and there is a reason they have horrible ratings. So I simply said we would never be back. She started raising her voice at me, and said, “good, we don’t want y’all back, Mallory told me y’all only come here when y’all got coupons, and you and your son were rude to my employees”.

None of what she said was true, and by that I mean that I did not tell Mallory that we only come when we “have coupons”. And neither my son, nor I were rude, it was Tristen who was beyond rude. And I replied, who was I rude to? Karen said, “Mallory told me you were rude to her, and y’all were both rude”. I could not believe my ears. I replied, I was very nice to her, how is tipping her 3 extra dollars being rude?! And I also told her that Mallory smiled and thanked me for the tip, so that doesn’t appear to be the reaction from someone treaded rudely. Then I asked for the owner’s number, as it is no longer posted on the window. Karen hung up on me. (I sort of feel like Tristen may be related to her). Even if we, or anyone only goes there when they have a coupon, at lease they came! I mean, Mallory told me they “wanted to use coupons to fix their bad online ratings”.

So if that’s true, then it’s pretty pathetic that the manager would then resent the people who came in with coupons, and even treat customers giving them coupon business like dirt. (All their bad ratings are not just from coupon using customers, I can guarantee it). I called and complained to corporate. They told me the owners would call me back within 24 hours. They didn’t. So I called Great Clips in Sherman Texas, and the woman who answered there told me the owner’s names are Mohammed and Shazia **, and live in Dallas, and she gave me both their numbers (** - Mohammed & ** - Shazia). She said they own all of the Great Clips in North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. I recalled Shazia, and that she is from Dallas. I called her. I told her what happened, and she was very shocked that Karen would talk to me that way.

Shazia also told me that she suspects that Karen lied about Mallory, because what Karen said did not sound like something Mallory would say, based on what she knew of her. So I told her then, not only does she have a rude, unprofessional manager, but she also has a manager who lies about her employees. Shazia told me that she did not know that for sure, but would find out and call me back… That was 3 weeks ago, and I have heard nothing. So I gave the owner the chance to get back with me, and or at least apologize. Neither happened. So I will add my negative review to the massive amount they already have to the mix. My advice is, don’t waste your time and money on a terrible haircut done by rude, inexperienced, insulting, and ignorant hacks who won’t appreciate your business anyway.

The only thing consistent with the several Great Clips locations that I've visited in many states is that I ALWAYS have to request (at least three times) the obvious -- that I want my hair even on both sides -- and that I will leave Great Clips with my hair uneven (to say the least). And yes, this is despite supplementing my request with hairstyle pics stored on my phone. And yes, this is despite going in Great Clips cautiously and kindly, knowing that I will seem ridiculous and excessive for asking the obvious -- and then asking two more times. No matter the approach rehearsed -- and even having consulted a cosmetologist friend and being told that the description of my request makes perfect sense -- I have never left Great Clips without their standard, uneven men's cut.

Why do I return? They are open late and this fits my harsh schedule. But my last visit was my last visit. The stylist at the Chenal Little Rock, Ar location was hostile from the moment I walked-in, and she left me smelling like her bad habit. I can usually forgive lack of talent and poor personal hygiene, but not an attitude to boot. I'm done spending an hour attempting to fix my hair every time I leave Great Clips.

She snipped away furiously for a few minutes at the back of my head, and then declared herself finished after using a blow dryer and brush to style it till dry. She gave me a mirror so I could only view the back... no side mirrors. One side of my head has hair that flips out and everything is very uneven. It looks horrible. She didn't even try. All I wanted was for my bob to be cleaned up, but results are bad.

Online Check In - Why have a stated appointment time when there is no accuracy involved. I was given a time of 17 minutes from the time signed in, arrived exactly at that time. Found a mother with four children waiting for cuts, one elderly gentleman and three young adults, eight customers in all and I was well down the list. What's the point if the information is not timely and accurate, I cancelled and walked out. Seriously considering other options for subsequent haircuts. This is not the first time for such an occurrence.

I took my daughter to the Great Clips in Parker near Sprouts and the supposed hair stylist named Janie was absolutely horrible! Not only did she repeatedly complain about my daughter having chlorine build up in her hair (but didn’t offer or suggest to wash her hair), she left an obviously long patch of hair at the nape of her neck. When I pointed it out and asked her to trim it evenly, she got very defensive and went on to explain that this is how an undercut should look. So I asked her again if she would trim it a little more even, she refused.

I left and went to the Arapahoe Crossing Great Clips, where the stylist agreed that my daughter's hair was quite uneven in the back and she gladly fixed it with no charge. I had checked in to get my hair cut as well but after Janie’s extremely rude and argumentative behavior, I was not going to let her near my hair! I’ve always heard the expression that the customer is always right and apparently Janie should be in a different field of work or retrained to accept constructive criticism.

I went with my family to have a haircut. First my mom's haircut was horrible. It was uneven, but ok. The lady that was cutting my mom's was pleasant. Then next is my 4 year old son. The same lady that cut my mom's hair, she was pleasant and patient with my son who was sensitive to the sound of scissors. Then halfway, my son was fussing and can't stay still so we were trying to distract him, then this other lady that is working there said, "you guys back off, he is distracted by you."

Then she took over cutting my son's hair, pulled the chair towards her with force seemingly angry. Told the other staff to hold my son's hands. Until my son was crying and don't wanna do it, she took my son off the chair and said that I have to do something with my son's behaviour. My son has some developmental delays and was already scared in the first place, this will not help him and he may be scared to have another haircut in the future. We'll definitely not go back to this salon ever.

The last cut I got was the LAST one I will ever get there. My question is: If the directions for my haircuts are in your computer why can't the so called stylist follow the directions? I am now with a stylist downtown, yes I am paying more but it is well worth it. It is going to take at least 3 more hair cuts to get the mess cleared up! Really, this is uncalled for. I would love to have ALL my money back that I have spent at Great Clips. DO NOT GO THERE if you care about how your hair looks after a haircut. I gave you 1 star because there isn't anything lower.

I took my daughter to get a haircut at Great Clips (Shopper Plaza, Gibsonia, PA) today. She wanted about 3 inches cut off. We sat in MaryAnne's chair and explained and showed her what we wanted. I even stayed to watch her make the first cut (about an inch below the chin). I then went and sat down, trusting that the haircut would be as explained. I was wrong. When I went to check in on my daughter I saw that her hair was now cut up to her lips. And to make matters worse, it was very choppy. My daughter was in tears. When I questioned her about the length, she said it was "shrinkage". That is just a lie. I know my daughter's straight hair, and it does not shrink 2.5 inches.

I then questioned why it was so choppy. MaryAnne said that she would fix that, but also said that in order to fix it, her hair would be even shorter. Another hair stylist stepped in when she saw how upset my daughter and I were and fixed her hair as best as she could. We were not charge (and believe me, I wouldn't have paid anyways). I was also offered a gift certificate, but I turned it down because we will NEVER be back. The woman who fixed my daughter's hair said that MaryAnne messes up quite often. If MaryAnne wasn't comfortable cutting girls' hair, then she should tell people. I would have gladly waited for another stylist. This woman should not be cutting anyone's hair. I've never seen my daughter so upset before and I don't blame her. Instead of getting 3 inches cut off, she had close to 6. I will never be back and I will also share my experience on other website and tell friends of mine to never return to a Great Clips.

And when I got my haircut there this year in 2018 the stylists who cut my hair said he would have to charge four to five dollars just for a simple rinse when I have never been asked to pay a few extra dollars just for a basic rinse as Great Clips has never asked me that. And now that they did it's like why should I pay extra money for a rinse if I'm already paying for a haircut that cost me roughly $15 bucks.

So now I will no longer be going back to Great Clips until they can stop charging customers an arm and a leg just for a water rinse as I always tend to get a rinse right after my haircut so I have decided to take my Business elsewhere as in The meantime I hope Great Clips gets shut down!!! Because it's just really absurd how they expect the customer to pay up for a rinse yet I could understand if it was a Luxurious shampoo Massage but a rinse. It never said that on the Price Board in the salon so someone is lying within the salon about these extra prices out of nowhere. It's just crazy and stupid at the same time.

I asked the stylist to part the hair on one side and cut everything beneath the part then do the same on the other side, connect the back and leave the rest. How hard can that be? The first thing the stylist did was cut straight into the side without parting it effectively cutting the length off the top. I immediately said no and she turned the chair away from the mirror and said she would fix it. 15 minutes later she showed it to me and she did the same thing on the other side and neither side was even close to even!!

To try "fixing it" all they did was cut the right side 3 inches higher up on my head so the sides of the section are 1 inch and the top is 4. I look like a Goth version of Mr. Potato Head!! I left so mad I didn't get my receipt and contacted customer service. We'll see if they even try to fix this jacked up mess (which means I will have to have all my hair cut military short and spend MONTHS growing it out again!). Will never go to another "Great Clips" again!!!

So after the service after still paying of course I wanted to talk to a manager. She stated that she was not in and I can call her tomorrow from the hours of 9 am to 2 pm. On the 18th of August I had called the Manager by the name of Latasha, who seemed to be too busy for my complaint.Never called me, never cared about my complaint. I called 4 times that day. I continued to call and she was "always busy " or " she would call me back". No such call or even sympathy was regarded about my situation.

My real complaint was at first of the haircut I originally had received, but the complaint I am addressing is that the "Manager" of the store failed to contact me or even bother with addressing any sort of apology or agreement. I honestly feel that the manager of the establishment should be reprimanded on the fact the poor communication skills and horrible customer service to a paying customer.

Great Clips Location: 692 S Andy Griffith Pkwy #109, Mt Airy, NC 27030. Date: 8/5/2017. I brought the picture I wanted, discussed it with him. He asked if I wanted it where my hairline was and I said, "No that's way too short. I want it exactly like the picture." I had also asked for a deep conditioning and style. He placed the picture on his station propped up and never looked at it again, although I prompted him 4 separate times to look at it saying, "No just like the picture." He had to ask the other stylist how to do a deep conditioning. He left me in the dryer 27 minutes instead of recommended 15-20 from other stylist. I had to remove myself because my face was red, my eyes felt burned and I couldn't stand it any longer. He later laughed and said, "Yeah sorry I left you in there an extra 5 minutes".

I literally pointed to my back the length I wanted and said that I did NOT WANT IT TOO SHORT! I want it just like the picture. I would have been fine if it was even close to that. After cutting it too short and me telling him, he proceeds to TRY and CURL IT towards the back of my head. I said, "That's not what I want. I want it a slight wave... see how it goes straight down, not small curls toward the back of my head." He says, "So you don't want it curled?" I said, "No I want it just like the picture" and pointed to it again. Using a flat iron he even went over the same pieces of hair because he kept crimping it like he's never had much experience totally negating the deep condition I just got because he fried my hair going over and over the same pieces before I stopped him.

He hands me the mirror to see the back and I was in shock. Not only in shock from the too short and very uneven front and sides, but the back. The back is so short it's barely over an inch in length. I said, "Do you see the length in the picture I provided? Does it look like that length at all???" He tries to tell me it's like that from my previous cut. NO IT IS NOT! I walked in with my hair in a bun on the top of my head requesting a cut at least 4 inches longer in the back then he butchered it to and gradually increasing lengths as it comes around to the front. It barely reaches my chin in the front and it should have been the length of my shoulder. And one side is longer than the other. Taking the 12 dollars off of the 34 dollar cost in no way helps. It will take at least 3 years to get it to the length he should have cut it up too.

Went to Great Clips today for the first time. No customers were in there so I got right in. She took about 5 minutes to cut my hair then asked me if it was ok. She hadn't dried my hair yet but I assumed she was referring to the amount she cut off. At that point she said I was done. My hair was sopping wet. She said most people don't want it dried. She never offered to dry my hair. She never mentioned that they don't wash your hair unless you tell them to. She never even offered to wash it. I asked her to dry it for me. She said "if I dry it, I have to charge you". She never mentioned anything about any of their services even though they have a menu on the wall and I am new to Great Clips. She didn't completely dry my hair but asked me if the cut was what I wanted. How can you tell if that's what you want when it's still wet. When she said she was done I never had a chance to ask for anything else. She was already at the register.

I felt rushed and I was rushed. I got home and got a mirror. OMG! I have 3 different lengths to my hair. There is a 1" wide area in the back that is shorter than the rest, and, both sides do not match. That is, by far, the worst haircut I have ever had. She was the only one working that morning and she was rushing to get me done because someone had walked in after me. Originally she was about to cut my hair dry. I said, "no you can't do that" so she kept spraying my hair to get it wet on the ends. That's when I told her it was ok to wash it. She said she had to charge me for that. I didn't care. I just assumed that washing it was something salons automatically did but I guessed wrong. I just wanted her to do it right. Normally, you would have to tell a hairstylist it's ok not to wash your hair but in this case, it's the opposite.

If you want a professional cut, don't go to Great Clips. That's not what they're all about. They're about speed, not accuracy or quality. The old adage. You get what you pay for because now, $29 later, I have to go to a more professional salon and have this uneven mess fixed and most of it was because she was in a hurry to get to the next person. I have long straight hair and just wanted the ends trimmed. No styling at all and I was the only customer in there at the moment until the other person walked in. It shouldn't have been that difficult. Trim the ends but do it straight. I have never been to Great Clips before and won't go back. I can't have this disaster again. I can't believe this. What a mess! I never expected that to happen. She was very nice but extremely rushed and I paid the price.

I went into this Great Clips location in Dover Pa about 2 weeks ago... thinking they could do a simple of my hair (let me point out my hair is at my neck and very straight). Their stylist (I use that term loosely) brought out the trimmers... ok I thought she was going to clean up my neck line. O NO she did not. She proceeded to use the trimmers (clippers) on the back of my head. I said, "Wait what are you doing?" Her response "I thought you want that short". If she would have taken 1 minute and asked me and or read the notes in my file she would have known that my hair is NEVER cut that short. This so called stylist tried and tried to fix my hair... but no matter how she tried to style it my hair stood straight up. I was sitting in the chair just crying... even after she butchered my hair beyond anything. I wanted to place a bag over my head to face anyone. She had the nerve to charge me. I left in tears.

Called a local salon and begged them to try to fix the damage... Luckily I met a stylist at Falic's in Dover who did her best to comfort me and fix my hair, the cut from Great Clips was so blunt there is no way my hair would do anything. Crystal from Falic's had to go in and make angle cuts to make my hair look presentable. After 2 weeks I have for the most part stopped crying. I still try to avoid mirrors.

I will tell everyone in the Dover Pa area "STAY AWAY from this Great Clips. They will butcher your hair with no regard to what you want." These stylist need more training. As a cosmetologist you should find classes and attend classes to learn more about what you are doing. As a cosmetologist if you get bored with what you’re doing move on. You are in the wrong field of work. These stylist are supposed to make you feel beautiful when you leave their chair. That day I felt so ugly and hideous I wanted to hide from anyone and could not stand the thought of someone seeing me like that.

She seemed to ease up after that. She butchered my hair. One side is three fingers long, the other two. I am beside myself. My class reunion in three weeks, and all I wanted was to neaten it up.

I've been going to Great Clips since I moved here about ten years ago. While the service was mediocre, I never had a reason to not go back until now. I took my two daughters in for haircuts, one of them was going to donate her hair to Locks of Love. As my daughters are sitting there, the two ladies cutting their hair begin to look at one another and deeply analyze their hair. I was sure I saw a wink between the two. One of them calls me over to say my two girls have lice. They tried to point it out to me, but I saw nothing. They instantly distanced themselves from my daughters, and even myself, making it clear that my daughters were infested to the ENTIRE shop. My daughters were mortified and even started crying, but the workers showed no sympathy, simply shooing them away. In the distress of them not getting their hair cut, I was conned into purchasing a lice treatment kit for $45 that I could have easily bought at Walgreens for $10.

I got home and began to treat my daughters' hair, only to discover the workers had freaked out over some dry scalp. I couldn't believe they had the audacity to lie to my face and then charge for the haircut, even though no work was done. My daughter talked to her friend, who had been lied to three separate times about lice from Great Clips. The workers were extremely suspicious and unhelpful, causing panic among my family through their deceitful nature. Part of me believes they set up this act so they wouldn't have to go through the process of sending my daughter's hair to Locks of Love. I am never setting foot into another Great Clips!!! I may even sue for the financial and emotional damage they caused my family!!!

The shop was extremely hot, uncomfortable for myself and the workers. They were very nice but they looked extremely overworked and exhausted. It made no sense that they had to work in those heat conditions where you couldn't barely breathe in the shop. I think the shop should be closed until the air is fixed because it's too hot for anybody to working in such weather conditions. It's totally unfair for those ladies to work like that.

The last two visits (two different stylists) I sat down, looked in front of me and both times there was a hand towel covered in little hairs. A clipper clogged with somebody's hair. Scissors with hairs, a comb with the same hairs! The last girl, when I dared to question it said (in a nasty tone) "I will wipe the scissors just for you!" Nothing else was removed!!! Cut out all of my $50.00 perm and left bald spots all over the back of my hair. This happened back on 5/19 and I still can't do anything with my hair. There are just too many bald spots in the back. She cut off at least 1 to 1-1/4 inches off. That is a lot when your hair is short to begin with. Jenny should definitely not be allowed to cut short hair. She just does not know what she is doing! She might be ok with someone with long hair. I don't know.

Every morning when I try to fix my hair I want to cry. I actually wished I had taken them to court. I spoke with the girl that claims to be the manager, Colleen and she offered to give me a free haircut. Well that doesn't solve my problem of having bald spots all over the back of my head! Jenny should be fired! I had been going to Colleen for approximately 3 years and I don't know if I can go back there. While Colleen's haircuts are fine, this left a really bad taste in my mouth!

Not wanting to go back to the same Great Clips I went to another one and explained the problem to the lady and asked if she could just even it up in the back and specifically said it should only take a minute. So she puts me in the chair, grabs some shears and before I know it she is shearing the front side of my head. I again said in the back please and kept pointing to the back but now she has hacked the side of my hair and has to even it up on the other side and continues cutting more and more hair. The place had no other customers and the other I could see the other haircutter in the mirror with a stunned look on her face.

Apparently this lady doesn't understand English and must have thought I said I wanted an inch taken off all over. I don't know what she was thinking. So she gets done and I kept telling her that I wanted the guarantee but she tried to charge me for a full haircut. I again show her my receipt so she says ok neck trim? $6.99... I couldn't believe my ears. Again I said guarantee NO CHARGE!! So she finally rings it up for a full haircut and then a refund for 'Redo' so $0.00 balance. I said thank you and left. Get home to find out my hair is 3/8ths of an inch higher on the right side than on the left side. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. I had my girlfriend trim it so it is even across the back which is what I should have done in the first place. She immediately told me trimming my hair was stupid if I wanted to grow it out, despite every other hair stylist I've gone to saying that trimming the area I described was the best way to grow it out. Her tone was extremely condescending throughout the entire session. She began to cut my hair, not-so-quietly judging me as she did so.

About halfway through she paused and was like "Do you ever use product? Leave in conditioner...? Anything? Cause your hair is really, REALLY dry. Like, REALLY dry." My hair is far from dry, as my other stylists and myself have observed over the past 10 years. After that, she continued to cut higher up my head. And higher. And higher. Till she cut almost right up to the very top of my head. Mind you, I had only CLEARLY asked for the bottom couple of inches to be trimmed, but she somehow thought I wanted the bottom 6 inches cut.

Now my almost-grown pixie is shorter than it was initially. And, the area I actually wanted trimmed wasn't trimmed to the length I wanted. The entire back of my head was one length. I have a flat head, so now the back of my head looks like a box. She kept the front and sides of my hair untouched, so it looks like I have a reverse mullet. AFTER she cut all my hair off, she mentioned again how getting my hair cut was anti-productive for growing it out, at which time I almost lost it. I'm very timid though, and would never ** out someone in public.

Anyways, after commenting again on my stupid request and my "dry" hair, she took me to pay and the haircut cost $10.99. $10.99. Even though I gave her the coupon for a $6.99 haircut. She then insisted I include a tip. Again, I'm not a confrontational person, so I just let it all happen. I shouldn't have paid for that. I should have at least been able to get the 6.99 cut I was promised. The $6.99 cut that possessed me to step foot in that hell hole.

The other workers seemed fine with their clients, I just got the bad one. I've never had a haircut make me cry, but this one surely did. I can't look in a mirror or touch the back of my head right now cause I hate it so much. I'm now investing in a wig till it grows out. I've been put back several months now and I'm sick of growing it out. I was so close to getting to a length I wanted. So, thanks GreatClips. Thanks sooo much. I'll never be setting foot in any of your salons ever again. Gladwin Rd. location in Abbotsford. Worker looked mid-40s, with tattoos and burgundy spiked hair. Definitely NOT worth the coupon. Especially since it didn't even work.

I have been a customer at the LaGrange, GA Great Clips for years. Lately every time I go in for a hair cut the stylist who is also the manager of both stores in LaGrange (Kim **) has been very haughty and tells me not to mess with my hair until she gets through with it! My hair is very thin on top and I don't like it to be brushed back with thin bangs and every time I try to get her to brush it to the side to cover the thinness she acts like it's a problem and it is embarrassing the way she tries to treat me like a child (I am 72 years old). I know she says she has been a manager for 15 year or so but she need to be more aware of her customers and what they want than how long she has been a manager!!

She is the only person at Great Clips that have treated me that way in all the years that I have been going. And it's not only me, she was rude to my friend that was with me as well when she ask her to texturize her hair. (She told her that she would if she thought it needed it.) Cut it to the shoulders was what we asked them to do. And this is what they did made my 16 year old daughter look like a boy with that cut. And yes like some others have said. They do not listen and Claire the manager rude and immature. Their attitude is "it's just a haircut it'll grow back." Try thinking about it from a 16 year old girl's view. Unless it grows back overnight. That will not work. Ladies and girls run from this place and the 30 other Great Clips in Orlando, FL since they are all owned by the same guy. I would not trust them with my cat's hair. They screwed it up and tried to give me parenting advice. Claire also hung up on my daughter when my daughter tried to call her about it. I don't really have to wait long, they are always pleasant & I like the haircut I get. I usually get what I ask for, & if it isn't, it will grow back, no big deal, & that's coming from a lady! Their prices are reasonable & I don't have the patience to wait 2-3 hours in a hair salon. So, today, 1/21/17 I would like to say Thank You to Bernadette & I'll be back!

I never knew which girl would be there and most often saw an entirely new person each time. This time I told the girl that I wanted only 1/2 inch off the top and no skin showing over my ears. I got 2.5 in. off the top and 1/4 in. around the ears. The girl answered the phone and instructed a new girl how to run the register during my cut. Because she absolutely ignored my instructions, I will find a new barber. If you want cheap, that is what you get.

Everybody that come in was staring at me and my stupid haircut. I was pretty upset when I got out and felt the back of my head. I'm wearing a ball cap now. I cannot even comb my hair anyway like it needs to be. They want these girls to do quickies with clippers cause it's faster than scissors. Lady had a young boy getting a haircut next to me. They got done and left. While I was still in the chair she brought him back in cause the girl missed a big spot on the back and had to redo it. Stay away from these chain cutters who try to make a lot of money while giving you a haircut you could do by yourself. Also the girl smelled like a cig that cut my hair.

She seemed to understand. She cut the back of my hair. She showed me in the mirror. I looked. I said, "It is way too short but it isn't like you can put it back on." She had to cut the rest of my hair. When she was done the front wasn't even but at this point I was done and angry. I shouldn't have paid but I did. I asked for a refund. She said I would have to talk to the owner. So I left my name and number and why I needed a refund. I was given a card from the salon. Gateway Center West Bloomfield MI. There is an email on the card that doesn't work. I went to the corporate website and called the corporate office and made a complaint. They said the owner would call me.

I called the salon back to tell them that the email that was on the card doesn't work and Ivy who happened to answer the phone said the manager was there. I went back to the salon to speak with the manager about a refund. She was less than helpful. I explained I wanted a refund and that my hair was much shorter than agreed upon and it was uneven. She said she would have to review the tapes but since I got my haircut I couldn't get a full refund. I am pretty sure they don't have cameras. She offered me a $2 discount card. I said I was never going to return to the store and I wanted a full refund. She couldn't do that. I said you can give me $2 then. She gave me $2. She then asked me to leave. I said No. My hair is ruined. She then went to the door and opened it and threatened to have me removed. I did leave. I should have stayed and have the police remove me. I will never return. I was employed by Great Clips and in one day I pretty much got the jest of it. It has a typical 1980's working structure. Minimize costs, maximize output at the expense customer satisfaction, product outcome and employee welfare. This company expects 15 minute haircuts, while answering phone calls for appointments and greeting customers. No front desk help just the cosmetologist taking time out of her productivity quota to input walking customer's information on the computer/cash register area in the front of the shop.

Cosmetologist are also expected to sell a minimum quota of products that are priced high. The typical customers to these type of store are from low middle class background and usually cannot afford these products. You cannot close the cash register until 9 pm, so by the time money is reconciled and tips sorted out it is usually 930. 30 minutes that are not paid. THEN one has to follow another cosmetologist to drop off money at a "nearby" bank. Again unpaid 20 minutes, unpaid gas mileage. These people want their cake and eat too. In the one I was employed at, starts you off at $7.50 per hour plus tips... So they do not use the percentage system used in most hair salons. I would say it would be a good place for a new cosmetologist, just out of school. It would get their haircut speed up and start with the worst place to work. Everything else will be a breeze after that.

Why the employees are so quick, and don't hear about the customers before using this bogus system - are you paying them less because you are taking less from customers?

I ask her for a short layered haircut tapered in the back. Well the haircut is not layered and the back is not tapered. She got an attitude as I told her I wanted it layered but I didn't like the results. I KNOW WE SHOULD NOT WRITE CAPS BUT I AM UPSET BECAUSE HAIR TAKES A LONG TIME TO GROW BACK! I would love to write her name down but karma will be a **. This was at the Tidewater Drive store.

New stylist did not know what the heck he was doing, kept complaining about the music. Had to tell him to trim behind my ear. Painfully slow. I am very disappointed. Will never go back. Worst run franchise!!! He did not even know he sucked. What is your hiring criteria??? If any??? Now I have to pay more to get my hair fixed... Worst experience ever.

I wish I had read all these reviews before going to Great Clips in Perryville, MO. I went in with a picture of what I wanted done. Nothing fancy just a layered cut, few inches off the length. Asked if she could do it, "Oh sure that's easy one." Well I chickened out as I was traumatized as a child. And thank God I did. I don't believe a strand on my head is same length. I wish I knew her name so I could warn others. I am on my way to Beauty College to hopefully get it straightened out. Damn shame go to a student after having a CHOPPED cut by a already working graduate. Never never will I ever go back there and I will advise others to not to go or proceed with caution. This was my second and last time ever going to Great Clips. Gave them a 2nd chance. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me! They get the rejects who graduated bottom of class.

I asked for a simple fade, and last time I went I was happy with the haircut I got so I simply trusted them and went again, and the second time I went they cut my sides almost 0.5 to 1. My parents were very angry at me and I asked for a low fade, from 1-2 and I do not know how it ended up 0.5 all over!! Just a tip to those who visit Great Clips, if it's something special MAKE SURE!! You ask them if they can do it, other than being stupid like me and just trusting them, because of some random reviews. Very disappointing. :(

I went in. They were busy due to running a special 5.99 for any cut. Asked for a fade but when she was done it literally looks like she put a bowl in my head and trimmed around it. I was very specific with what I wanted. Told her I wanted a 3 in the back and fade the rest in. Also I wanted it thin out when she was done as well. Well that was definitely NOT what I got. She did the 3 on the side of my head and kinda trimmed the rest but never touched the top. I will not be back there again!

Yesterday I went to the Great Clips in Tucker, Ga to get my hair trimmed. I admit that I had been cutting on it before and I told the "stylist" that and not only showed her. Up also explained what I wanted done and that I did not want to have too much taken off - just even it up and clean it up. "No problem," she said. I got in the chair and she put the cape around me and started whacking away. I again asked her not to get crazy with the scissors and that I didn't want to look like a boy (I'm 70) and her reply was to just sit back, relax that she was the stylist - yeah right!

When she finished she took the dryer and blew the hair off, didn't try to style it for me, told me how much I owed and checked me out. I really didn't realize how bad the cut was until this morning when I went to style it and discovered that the left side was an inch and a half shorter than the right side and the top was also left longer than it should have been. This is the first and last time I will ever go to Great Clips!

The lady wacked it all off right below the shoulders. I was in such shock and my daughter just looked at me in a way that told me she didn't want me to make a scene. Not only did she screw up my daughter's hair, she wasted the hair. We would of donated it to Locks of Love. I just can't believe the lady did that. No more Great Clips for my family.

Before she got started she ran to the back and got on her cell phone and then came back to receive another call, have a brief conversation and then started to cut her hair. When she was done I asked her what happened and she said, "I don't know". She must have moved around or something. And I told her this was unacceptable and I was refusing to pay for it until it was fixed. She told me that I had to pay for the haircut and then they would give me a free one. I refused and walked out. I went somewhere else to get my daughter's hair fixed, ended up cutting it above the shoulder is way more than I wanted. Was trying to let her hair grow out so there goes that.

My wife took my daughter to the Great Clips in Frankfort, KY that is 2 miles from our home and we have been going to for 11 years. I THOUGHT they could be trusted but I was wrong. My daughter is 10 so she is starting to show some independence when we go places (wants to place her own food order at restaurants etc). My daughter told the lady that she wanted the length to be shoulder length and she wanted some bangs. What she got was a Bob with 1 1/2 inch bangs! She now looks like Dr Spock from Star Trek! I don't know HOW you can cut hair for a living and mess a kid up THAT BADLY.

I have no idea how we are going to fix 1 & a half inch bangs. My daughter is in a public school and I don't know who out there may have a 10 year old in school right now but kids are not nice these days. I'm afraid the kids are going to make fun of her because this haircut looks SOOO ridiculous. I have contacted corporate to voice my concerns and I'm waiting to hear from them to see what they say. The lady that did this was really nice but she doesn't need to be cutting hair. If they are asked to do something they are not capable of doing they should turn it over to another stylist or BE HONEST. Don't butcher a someone's hair! We will not go back to another Great Clips. If they employ stylists of this caliber (and it's not an isolated incident because I've read approximately 50 reviews from across the country. Most of which were 1 out of 5 stars). If we don't go to a high end salon we will definitely try a competitor.

I thought I saw her but her back was to me. Was rudely told I could no longer have my favorite nor was welcome to wait for her until she was available. No appointments, no asking for more favorite stylist, take what you get. So rude and unfair and how uncomfortable for an old lady. Very rude way to inform a loyal customer. She and her wishes don't matter anymore. What happened to respect, good manners, or caring. What happened to "the customer is always right"? Well, I had to do what was right for myself. I will never go back to Great Clips because of her and usually I take my 3 boys and spend about 60 bucks each time in there. This time Melissa was extremely rude and when I asked for another layer she said "I asked you that to begin with. I responded that." I said, "Yes I wanted a layer." She said "No you didn't." She was very argumentative and after a terrible cut I was afraid to ask anyone else in there to fix it. When she checked me out she was mad that I didn't give her a big enough tip and snatch the signed receipt out of my hand. I have never ever been treated so bad anywhere. I almost called the manager to deal with it right then but I didn't want there to be a scene with everyone in the salon. I really cannot believe I was treated that way.

I have 3 boys and one lady cut 2 and the second lady cut the third. The 2nd lady was asked if she knew how to do a box cut which is a popular cut with teen boys. I step out of the salon for a few minutes. When I walked back in my son was clearly upset and the stylist called me over. She made my son look like a 60 year old man with a receding hairline. He missed school. She became defensive when I approached her and said I should not have stepped out. Stepping out doesn't change the fact that she should not be allowed to touch another human's hair. Perhaps she should consider dog grooming. I wouldn't subject my dog to her and her behavior.

Sat down with this older short blonde hair woman and she could barely stay on track of what she was doing and what I wanted. Simply asked for an inch or two trim with a face frame down the center. But that was too complicated. I was frustrated the whole time getting my hair cut by her. Anxiety skyrocket, eager to get out of there, I just wanted to stop her in the middle and walk out. Then once I told her, "it's fine, please don't cut any more." Older lady became the evil witch of the west in a snap. She tried to get me out of there so fast, after the whole time of me sitting there still being nice. I've had plenty of bad experiences with getting my hair done but never as bad as I had got done with her.
