Wanted a more layer haircut and a little shorter. Basically looks like a weedwacker haircut - so uneven and just horrible. It's short and praying I can find another stylist somewhere to fix it before the holidays when family coming to visit!

I got probably the worst haircut of my life at the local Great Clips. I had gotten a bad cut at my regular barber and was looking for something better. Either the girl I got was new or didn't know how to cut men's hair. Haircut was all uneven lengths. One area in back wouldn't lay down for three weeks because of the uneven short lengths. What's worse than a bad haircut?? It looked like someone had taken a dull razor to one side of my head. Very disappointed in Great Clips. Still searching for a decent barber.

Online check in is there for the "hair stylists", not for the customer. So they put your name on a waiting list? So what? I recently got a "wait time" of zero minutes. But I was fifteen minutes away when I got the text. Of course by the time I got there I was fourth in line, which took about fifteen or twenty minutes before I got my seat with the ever-changing "independent contractor hair stylist". When I got the usual greeting of "Did you check in online?" I said "yes", but that I thought it was a joke. The "hair stylist" said "well, it got you on the list, didn't it?". Well, yes it certainly did. There were no other customers in the shop or on the waitlist screen.
Great Clips is the Uber of haircut shops. I rarely get the same "HAIR STYLIST" more than once or twice. Then they disappear like snowflakes on a warm sidewalk. Your preferred haircut settings are "in the computer", so be careful because once you are "in the computer" you will always be "in the computer'. But your "hair stylist" will be history. They have also succeeded in putting all the other places in town out of business. You remember? The good ones that actually provided customer service.

I decided to go to Great Clips to save a little bit of money as my hair is long, straight and slightly angled around my face. I thought it was hard to mess up my hair but the woman who cut it managed to do so. I told her I needed a trim (about an inch off) and wanted to trim the angles around my face. She instead cut close to 3 inches off and layered the front of my hair (it now looks choppy and not angled around my face at all). Worst haircut ever!!! I will not be back and now I will have to look for a higher end salon to go to and have my hair fixed.

I will be trimming the hair above his ears, as he paid this woman to do. -0- customer service. Myself, I took 3 pictures in to show Felicia what I wanted. Kept telling her to LEAVE THE LONG hair in front of my ear. She did not seem to give two **. Hair above ears is soooooo short I can barely grab it. Hair not even anywhere, not even close to the hair styles I showed her. Checked in online this morning for a Norman OK store. 17 minute wait time. I arrived with 5 minutes to spare. Two barbers had just started customers. So I took a seat. But then there were 3 customers on the screen ahead of me so you do the math. Another 30 to 40 minutes. So I left. Later today I tried another store in Moore Oklahoma. Check in online. Said 10 minutes. I get there in 5 minutes, Both chair full, two customers waiting. I wait for one barber to finish. She takes one of the customers and tell the other she is next. I am now at 1 minute on the app. Load of bull. I am done with the app and Great Clips.

I went to Great Clips about a month ago. The lady cutting my hair was wonderful. However the woman cutting hair beside of me decided to inject herself into my conversation. I politely told her that my conversation did not involve her. She was extremely RUDE. I decided not to return when that person was there, I go back last week. I check in and am texting my dying Dad's HOSPICE NURSE.
ANGELA calls my name and I ask her to take the next person as I am taking care of something rather important. She goes berserk, starts yelling "take him out of the system" "take him out of the system". And she does. I go back to their website and check in again. It states 12 min. Wait. I thought that should give me enough time. She saw my name on the list and went berserk again. I got up and left. Afterwards I find out that she is a floor manager. What an UGLY person to have as the Face of Great Clips. Will not return until this rude and ugly individual is gone.

I usually use the store in Ocoee close to home, was working in the city of Kissimmee Florida. Last week, needed a haircut at lunch break so I went to store #690. I'm easy a #2 on the sides, halfway up 2 inches on the top, cut straight across bangs in the front. Ended up with gouges all over my head, hair was about 2 inches off center and lopsided. Top was supposed to be 2 inches to hide my psoriasis, ended up being 1/2-3/4 inches and only half my bangs on the left side were even, the right side was gouged out. Nowhere close, not even in the same ball field.
Ohh forgot to do back of my neck as well. Went to Great Clips in Ocoee Fl today to try and even this out as it looked like my 9 year old son could a done better. On top of this had to pay an additional 15 bucks just to try and salvage this. So $30 plus tip and I have no hair, really? I'm not a first timer here. I have found a few in my years that do fairly well. This Great Clips person at store #690 should not be in this business.

Single worst customer service experience of my life. Truly. I kept expecting Ashton Kutcher to jump out and scream "You've been Punk'd!". The woman who cut my hair (wish I'd gotten her name) was exceptionally rude from the moment I walked in. Cut my hair in about 3 minutes and started blow drying. I asked if she was going to cut the hair in front and she said "You didn't ask for face framing!" Haircut was not good, but I really don't care that much about that part. She couldn't figure out how to operate the credit card machine. She said she couldn't get them to run at all. I tried 3 different kinds of cards from 3 different banks. Then she said they'd actually all been declined and told me I had to pay in cash because "All your accounts must be frozen"! (Hahaha!!!) So I went to Target (where my cards magically worked fine) to get cash and brought it back to her.

For convenient sake only, I've gone to the same Great Clips for 11 years. Only once did they get the cut right, and that young lady really knew her stuff. But that's where the compliments end, because today, I was enjoying an otherwise pleasant chat with the hair stylist there, and I was very specific about how I wanted my hair cut...just as I always am. "Cut off as much as you can while still allowing me to comb my hair, and taper the sides and back." Any barber in town would know what that means. Well, once again, not only did she get it wrong, but 10 minutes into the cutting, she asks if "I'd like my eyebrows trimmed".
I said "No, but my wife would". She proceeded to trim my eyebrows when I felt a sharp pinch on my left eyelid. It wasn't that painful, and I didn't flinch, but when I was getting up from the chair, she had the audacity to ask me if I "knew I had cut my eyelid". I said "No", and without making a big deal of it, I paid the bill and for the first time in my life, I left without leaving my customary 30% tip. In the past, I left that even when I didn't get a great clip (no pun intended), but when she attempted to deflect blame, where she clearly was responsible for the blood on my eyelid...I left, with a commitment to never return. Getting a mediocre haircut or at times, even bad haircut was one thing, but I'll not reward their total lack of professionalism with any business in the future.

This is not a big deal or an issue but her being rude and saying that it is only my hair and not anyone's else so it is fine. I’ve been growing my beard for 8 months and decided to stop in a Great Clips for a trim. I told her I didn’t want to lose any length of fullness. Just trim the stranglers and clean up the lines. She proceeded to thin the sides out by more than half, cut off an inch in length. Then left the bottom at such an angle. I have to go home and try fixing it myself. And I paid for that service!! Never again will I go to any Great Clips location. I guess if you need a beard trim, go to someone who can actually grow one.

I went to Great Clips the Saturday before Father’s Day and had used the online check-in feature that they kept telling me about. Online, it said I had one person ahead of me and my wait time was at seven minutes. I drove to the location, pulled into the parking lot, looked at my phone and it said a two minute wait. When I walked in, the cashier told me there was three customers ahead of me and my wait time was a minimum of 12 minutes. I showed her my phone which showed two minute wait time. She said no. It will be at least 12 minutes. I told her to cancel it and I called the 800-number. Of course I had to leave a message because they were too busy to answer the phone, so I left a message stating I need to speak to someone right away.
The customer service rep called me back about 30 minutes later and I told her the situation and she said she would send it on to the local office. The suppose the general manager of the location called me about an hour later and said she was going back to the store to review the tapes and would give me a call back. I asked her what good was that going to do considering I had already driven to their location, I had checked in online, and I was told the online app didn’t matter. Still waiting for a follow up call!

I had my hair cut in the end of January where the stylists cut it so short it has taken three months to grow but I just said, "Well maybe the picture I gave her mislead her." I had used the same picture twice prior to that haircut and the other stylist managed to cut it correctly. So today 6/11/2019 my hair is now longer so I wanted a haircut and went in and the stylist washed my hair and when she cut it she cut nothing off. I told I don’t think she cut my hair and she said that I told her I was growing it out but what I said after the cut I needed to grow it out because it looked like a cut for a little boy. She looked confused so I said it was okay just leave it. So I paid 20.00 for Great Clips to wash my hair. At minimum the stylist should have asked questions not just assumed. I gave Great Clips a second chance but I will not return. First they chopped off all my hair then they don’t cut it at all and the second stylist's made me feel like I was asking for too much.

Sophia was the stylist at the Great Clips in Anna, TX and she was the most unprofessional disgrace to the beauty service industry I have ever seen. They offer a shampoo and style and she was being very dramatic about how her hair was straight naturally and she didn't know how to use a flat iron. She then told me she could do it but might burn my hair off. This is inexcusable behavior for someone to act towards paying customers. She should be embarrassed and ashamed. They would be getting good business from me, but now I will make sure I tell everyone in the area how unprofessional they are. I have a big mouth, live in a big neighborhood and work in retail. What a shame! I will never be back. There are other places that will appreciate my business.

"Oh, I won't do that." Then she proceeds to ask questions. I should have said, "One to two inches all over, is that hard to understand?" I got a compliment before I left the shop, and on the way home, I touched the back and found out it was less than 1/2 inch long. Great Clips on May Avenue - Address: 6315 May Ave, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73112. Decided to get my hair cut yesterday and found a cute picture of shoulder cut hair. Literally just to the shoulders, nothing special. Well, I go up there, everyone is nice. I wait and wait, then it’s my turn. I sit in the chair and show her the picture of what I was wanting. She says okay and starts cutting. Weird thing happened though, she had me put my head down as far as I could and she started cutting the back. It came out horribly. She redid my bangs and cut them way shorter than I wanted and basically butchered my hair. It was a straight across cut, no long layers or thinning at all. My hair was wet down so I didn’t notice until I got home how bad it was. The back is waaaay shorter than the front and it would look cute if the front wasn’t super uneven. There are chop marks all over.
So, I called back up there and they told me to come back in and that they would fix it. She’s acting super nervous and starts making me put my head down AGAIN and cutting the under layer in the back. Comes out choppy again. She tries to thin it out and can’t so she calls a colleague over to help. She shows her how to do it and goes back to whatever she was doing. So she tries to thin it out, makes one snip and she makes this terrified face and calls her back over. So the other lady finishes it, but it feels like it hasn’t even been thinned out. So I ask again, to please thin it out. It still isn’t thinned out. So I say thanks and I leave. Now, they won’t give me a refund. The lady told me we could get a refund when the manager was in but apparently they don’t do refunds. So now I’m out $16 with a crappy haircut and now I have to go pay $40 to get it professionally cut since they do not know what they are doing. I am beyond ** and will NOT be going back.

Moreover, Ashley somehow "magically" bumped her customer of choice "Jose" and his buddy to the top of the check-in list, when it was my daughter's and other customer's turn to be waited on. Sadly, we sat there watching as Ashley used customer's and the store's time to make social points with the young man she was interested in, as we continued to wait.
All this while, the other poor hairdresser, on the same shift, struggled to wait on customers (neglected by Ashley's social hour with "Jose"). The hairdresser was very uncommunicative, I was hoping she could help me figure out what look to go for but she didn't say anything. She dampened my hair a little and brushed it, causing it to frizz up, then she cut off chunk and asked if it was okay. It made me very nervous since all the other times I've cut my hair, the hairdresser properly washed it and cut it bit by bit.
When she was done cutting my hair with no precision or talent she brushed it even more (since my hair is wavy it frizzed a lot) and left it like that. In the end, I walked out with a ball of frizzed, cauliflower hair that was too short and neither straight, wavy or curly. Overall, it was a negative experience and I certainly won't be going there again. I don't recommend anyone to go there, very bad quality.

Lately realized how bad and how far one can go to show their aggressiveness. ** was the stylist and unfortunately she is the Manager and she was so rude and rude is not enough to describe her behavior and arrogance. We have been to this location multiple times and we had mixed experience. Sometimes staff being rude, sometimes OK and sometimes good. This is close by to my place and so we just kept going. But never checked the reviews. BIG BIG Mistake from my side which resulted in a Horrible experience today 3/6/2019 around 6;15 PM.
She stopped hair cut for my son (6 yr old) in the middle and asked us to leave. Yes you read it right. Stylist called ** (she is claiming to be the Manager). ** embarrassed me and my son in front of others. If you don't like to serve people from other Race/Ethnicity, please place a board outside about the same so that we won't get humiliated by the staff and that too in front of others.
She was so arrogant from the beginning. Doing hair cut to a 6 year old boy like doing it to a grown up man. She is ordering him with strong voice. She told me that "My Son is not mannered". How can she says that??? How is Great Clips choosing these kind of arrogant people as Managers? She don't have any patience. I am very much depressed with her actions. Had to chose a star otherwise it is not letting me to post the review. Otherwise NO Star. I am looking for all available options including an attorney for this Humiliation.

I went to Great Clips one time and got 13 inches cut off and it looked amazing! I loved it so much! It was just perfect. I went back about 3 Months later to get my hair trimmed and they hacked my hair to pieces. The underlayer of my hair is an inch and a half longer than the top layer. It is super uneven and it is longer in the back than the front. I am super unhappy with the way my hair looks. I went back in so they could re cut it and they had to take off another 2 inches to get it to look normal. A lot shorter than I wanted my hair.

When I went back a week later with a picture of what I wanted my hair to look like, asking Beatriz to correct/even up the cut she gave me, instead of trimming the back to taper in with the front she cut all my hair off to an inch in length all over. It wasn't not even close to the picture. I literally commented that I didn't want any of the front cut or the back cut as short as what she was cutting and she told me that this is what she thinks I should have. That it would be easy to take care of. :-(
The other stylists started talking among themselves in front of me about how she can be when she gets angry and it was then I realized she was doing it on purpose. Then she told me never to ask her to cut my hair again. I left in tears and was sick to my stomach the rest of the day. I've posted two pictures. The shorter one is what I ended up with the other is what I asked for. Finally I would like to emphasize I was not one minute rude to her. I just asked her to fix the cut she had given me the week prior. If I could give this salon a negative star I would.

She got back after about 15 minutes after the 25 minute period and chewed me out for not checking in when I got there. I did check in when I got there but the other cutter didn't note it. In fact she had asked me twice who I was but didn't note it. I told the woman who chewed me out and had to tell her twice because she wouldn't listen to me when I told her I did sign in.
By then there were 4 people waiting and when she cut my hair it took all of about 3 minutes. I got scalped even though I told her 1/2 inch. AND, there is a patch 1 1/2 inch square by my right ear that is right down to the skin and shines. Terrible! I had been going there for about 4 years and this will probably be my last time. My son showed her a pic of what he wanted and she said okay. He also told her, “Please don’t cut a lot off the top” cause they always do. Well what does she do? She cuts it all off and his hair looks nothing like the pic he showed her. He also said the whole time she didn’t say one word to him. He was very upset when we left and not happy with his cut. The lady who cut my hair was sloppy about where she was using the clipper on the side and went too far up and cut my cowlick way too short. Then on top cut it unevenly, cutting the front at least 1/2 inch shorter than the middle. She definitely didn’t just cut the tips off. My hair is now chopped beyond my ears with this bizarre "layering" and all of my lush volume has been reduced to a thin, short stringy butchered cut - I kept telling her to STOP what she was doing but she would not and within seconds my whole head of beautiful thick hair was covering the floor! I am now wearing a hairpiece in an effort to conceal the whole pathetic massacred mess but it feels heavy, artificial, strange and I am heartbroken over this and at Christmas too - somebody called "Maria" is the author of this horror - it is so bad it looks like it was done maliciously. She ought to be summarily fired!
Of course it will grow back but in the interim am looking at at least 18 months of seclusion - I don't want to see anyone or go anywhere. In addition to the hairpiece I have since purchased a good professional pair of shears & will learn to trim my own hair and never again will another person ever ever ever again touch my hair! Ever! This entire experience has ended up costing a sea of tears and over $1,000 by the time the hairpiece & the shears were purchased - I bought the best I could find because it is after all for me and I deserved better than what I received here. There is at least 18 months of damage, at least that was incurred in a few short seconds - this is no place for women - it is high risk for any woman who values their femininity.

Went in to Great Clips about two weeks ago. I sat in Reneika's chair, I am sure I spelled that wrong. As soon as I sat in the chair I immediately expressed to her that I needed for her not to be scissor happy. That was the first thing I said when I sat down. I came in with three inches of natural curly hair. So I had no hair to waste. I showed her the style I wanted which I had plenty of hair to pull off. I told her I wanted it stacked in the back. She told me stack and a fade was the same. Even though I knew that was not true I also knew she had the pic right in front of her. This lady cut all my hair off and gave me a fade. The same hair cut my son gets. She cut it all off the to the point where my hair couldn't make any curls in the back and front. She only needed to stack the back and cut a little off the top and sides. I left with one inch of hair and a fade. No curls.
There is no doubt that she did it on purpose. I couldn't get any more clear on what I wanted. There was even a point when she said I look nervous and I said, "That's because I am afraid of you cutting too much." She told me to trust her two times and I did. Worst mistake of my life. She cut it all off. I felt so ugly and I know that's what she wanted. When I came in the shop my hair was longer than the pic I showed her but when I left my hair was shorter. I had a fade but I wanted this beautiful cut that I had more than enough hair for. Do not sit in that chair. She is scissor happy and purposely cut my hair off. She wanted me to feel ugly probably because she does deep down inside. She cut my curls off as she told me they were beautiful even though I told her I wanted them. I asked that if I kept correct time could I go do other shopping and return, and she said yes.
I returned in exactly 20 minutes and AFTER I returned she took two other customers who were not there earlier. She told me they had checked in online and had priority. I told her I had a phone in my pocket and could have checked in online too had she told me to in order so save my space. She told me I had only been waiting 13 minutes and that online check ins always had priority. I told her that she was mistaken about the time (I wear two watches) and that my actual wait time was now 24 minutes, not the 13+ 4 that she quoted after we talked.

I was amazed at how well she did, not just the first time, but on every occasion since the first one. And not only me. My wife has always complimented how well my hair has looked after Christina cut it.
When I asked her about her experience and why she did such a good job, Christina told me she was a recent graduate of a hairstyling school in Murfreesboro (I think those specifics are correct). I’m sure that had a strong influence on her ability, but I think it was also her attitude to do well as proven by her work. I am a 66-year-old male with the need of creativity on the part of a hairstylist because of thinning hair and a pronounced “cow-lick” on the back of my head. Most times past hairstylists would cut the “cow-lick” area that would result in my hair looking like a bristled porcupine for 2-3 weeks later. But not with Christina. My 10/14/18 visit to the Great Clips at the Shoppes at Bethelview in Cumming, GA was one of the most horrible I’ve experienced. One, I decided to switch to this location after quality at another nearby location started dropping, in hope of finding better stylists. Taking my son to get his hair cut, we wanted to advise them what needed to be cut. From the very first interaction with April, she started with an attitude by saying abruptly that the details are in the system and that’s what she was going to do. Not knowing what that meant, we wanted to instruct her and make sure she cut enough. Once cut, we simply asked her to cut a bit more off the front and her reply was that ‘this would be the last cut’. Asking her to clarify what she meant, she wouldn’t answer the question. Up until this time, my wife was dealing with her.
When one of the other stylists looks at me and apologizes, I’m puzzled by what he’s saying, so I get up to find out what’s going on. Once I’m there, April proceeds to blame me for ‘interrupting’ her and saying to me that she has 15 mins to cut hair. I reply to her that she will cut it as long as it takes to get it right and demand to see a manager. Not knowing he’s actually directly next to us the entire time and does absolutely nothing. I demand that he deals with the situation right there and he basically blows it off. I tell them both that I will not be paying for this haircut.
I asked for their names and neither are willing to give their names. After several more attempts, April finally tells me her name. She tells me that she will not be ‘treated like a slave’. Being **, she wants to play the race card. This store needs to train their employees on how to interact with the public and to deal with situations. Their attitudes should not be tolerated. If April can’t take reasonable instruction on what the customer wants, then she shouldn’t be in that position. If the manager allows that type of employee hostility to occur, he shouldn’t be running the store. After this experience along with the recent others, I am completely done with Great Clips and will find another place to my hair cut.

Recently my son and I had a terrible experience at Great Clips in Durant, and we will never go back. Let me first talk about how they want to put your profile in their database. Okay, so many years ago I was a regular there, and so was my mom. They justified having the need to enter your full name, phone number, and PHYSICAL address in their system, because they “like to send coupons to their clients” (not true btw). And let’s be honest, they give bad haircuts there. And they stopped sending coupons to their clients years ago, even though they used the same excuse. I even talked to the owner a couple of years ago (whose name and number used to be posted on the front window) and I told her the haircuts were getting worse in quality, and the coupons were our only reason for considering coming there. She of course told me she didn’t know why we were not getting them anymore.
So my son and I, along with my mom started going to US Hair and other places and getting good haircuts every time. Once in a while I would try Great Clips again, paying full price, just to regret it, because the haircut was bad. Then I noticed that every great once in a while there would be a coupon to Great Clips in the coupon section of the local paper, available to everyone, but not to their customers, as they claimed they would send directly to, hence why they supposedly needed all of your info put into their database, as if they were a pharmacy chain. I did not use them because of past experiences, but recently I found 2 coupons for $8.99 each, and decided (much to my stupidity) to give them another shot. So my son and I went. As soon as we got there, a girl named Mallory asked our first and last names, I told her we were not in the system, so no need to enter it.
She then asked my address and phone number. I told her we just wanted haircuts. We sat down, and then she called me, and then a dirty looking, obese, fat faced man, with balding, yet greasy hair, named Tristen called my son. I noticed there was an older, wrinkled, and weathered looking woman with a raspy voice, as if she had been smoking for all of her 70 years, in a shower cap on her head talking to the “stylists”, but seemed to be doing her own hair which I found odd. I could not hear everything my son and the greasy Tristen were discussing, but Mallory started telling me that they like to get people’s names and addresses so they can increase their business because their online rating was so bad. I told her they used to have mine, but I haven’t gotten a coupon in years while they had my name and address.
Bear in mind, I had not yet told anyone that I had coupons for my son from the sales paper yet, nor did I tell her I only came for that reason. Mallory asked me how much I wanted taken off in terms of inches. While explaining, the wrinkled up, older woman, walked up to us, and pointed to the fat greasy Tristen’s hair and said in her cigarette smoker’s voice, “that’s what 3 inches looks like”. At that moment, I realized the winkled old woman worked there, and seemed to know a lot about the greasy, obese man Tristen’s hair. It struck me as weird that she would point to his hair as an example, since he was almost bald, but oh well. After I chose to have “3 inches” taken off, Mallory started asking me multiple, personal questions, like my age, if I had kids, how many, and their ages. I was very nice to her, and she seemed to be nice too.
Shortly after, she was done with me, and I followed her to the other side of the register to pay, I presented to the coupon, and paid, and told her I wanted to pay for my son’s haircut and pay for his. I tipped her 3 dollars, because even though she had not given me a good haircut, I was happy that it was not terrible like all the other visits, and besides she seemed nice, and was very happy for my tip. I heard a strange commotion, and I could tell my son was not happy. He approached me and told me quietly that guy (Tristen) was a jerk. So even though I would have tipped Tristen just to be nice, I did not, because my son was angry about his experience. Then I found out what happened. My son told me he first asked Tristen what taking 3 inches off of his hair would look like, and then he asked about 2. Tristen told my son he should only get 1 inch taken off.
My son told him if he was going to have to pay the same for a mere trim, as a full haircut, (most other places only charge you for trim, vs. full haircut), then he might as well take 3 inches off. Then Tristen got rude with my son, and told him they “were the cheapest place in town”. Then out of the blue Tristen asked my son if he conditioned his hair after he shampoos. My son told him yes, (even though it was none of his business). Tristen then smirked, and nodded his head sarcastically, then after a pause, Tristen said, “you have really dry scalp," and usually what that means, is you are either not conditioning, or not doing a very good job. My son told him, that he has a skin condition, and naturally dry skin, and has a Doctor/Dermatologist, and knows how to take care of his own hair and scalp, and also informed him that he has a special prescribed solution to treat it.
My son told Tristen, that he is NOT a doctor, and did not know what he was talking about. Tristen, after being both rude, and intrusive, became even ruder, telling my son he “did know, what he was talking about”, and added that he had been cutting hair for “19 years”. My son informed him that he knows his own body, and has a specialist (Doctor) to treat him with prescribed medicine, and he (Tristen) did not know more than he did about his own skin, let alone a doctor, and did not need his rude insults, nor his inappropriate, and intrusive advice, when all he wanted to do was sell store hair products. After that, Tristen said, “well that’s it”, and then wandered off. So my son starts to take the apron off of himself and get up, when Tristen comes back out of nowhere and says “hey, hey, hey, leave that alone, I’m not done”! My son told him you said that “was it”, and Tristen rudely replied that he was talking to someone else.
Then, even though he said he was not done, he took the apron off my son, and said “GOD”! The next day I called to complain. I asked for the manager, whose name I was told is Karen. She got on the phone, and I immediately recognized the raspy, old woman’s voice from the day before. It was the same lady doing her own hair there, who seemed to know a lot about Tristen. She is the manager! I told her about my complaint. I told her seminar trained hair cutters, have no right to insult the customer, by ignorantly suggesting that they have bad hygiene, and further it’s not their place to give medical advice either. I didn’t even bother to tell her, that they give terrible haircuts, and there is a reason they have horrible ratings. So I simply said we would never be back. She started raising her voice at me, and said, “good, we don’t want y’all back, Mallory told me y’all only come here when y’all got coupons, and you and your son were rude to my employees”.
None of what she said was true, and by that I mean that I did not tell Mallory that we only come when we “have coupons”. And neither my son, nor I were rude, it was Tristen who was beyond rude. And I replied, who was I rude to? Karen said, “Mallory told me you were rude to her, and y’all were both rude”. I could not believe my ears. I replied, I was very nice to her, how is tipping her 3 extra dollars being rude?! And I also told her that Mallory smiled and thanked me for the tip, so that doesn’t appear to be the reaction from someone treaded rudely. Then I asked for the owner’s number, as it is no longer posted on the window. Karen hung up on me. (I sort of feel like Tristen may be related to her). Even if we, or anyone only goes there when they have a coupon, at lease they came! I mean, Mallory told me they “wanted to use coupons to fix their bad online ratings”.
So if that’s true, then it’s pretty pathetic that the manager would then resent the people who came in with coupons, and even treat customers giving them coupon business like dirt. (All their bad ratings are not just from coupon using customers, I can guarantee it). I called and complained to corporate. They told me the owners would call me back within 24 hours. They didn’t. So I called Great Clips in Sherman Texas, and the woman who answered there told me the owner’s names are Mohammed and Shazia **, and live in Dallas, and she gave me both their numbers (** - Mohammed & ** - Shazia). She said they own all of the Great Clips in North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. I recalled Shazia, and that she is from Dallas. I called her. I told her what happened, and she was very shocked that Karen would talk to me that way.
Shazia also told me that she suspects that Karen lied about Mallory, because what Karen said did not sound like something Mallory would say, based on what she knew of her. So I told her then, not only does she have a rude, unprofessional manager, but she also has a manager who lies about her employees. Shazia told me that she did not know that for sure, but would find out and call me back… That was 3 weeks ago, and I have heard nothing. So I gave the owner the chance to get back with me, and or at least apologize. Neither happened. So I will add my negative review to the massive amount they already have to the mix. My advice is, don’t waste your time and money on a terrible haircut done by rude, inexperienced, insulting, and ignorant hacks who won’t appreciate your business anyway.

I had very long hair when I went in to see Karla. I requested to donate 12 inches as my hair was all the way to my butt. She took off the 12 inches and continued to take off several more inches (ie 4-5 inches) when I had told her I didn't want it cut short. I had specifically stated I wanted to keep as much length as possible. I will not go back to her even for a trim. I could end up bald if I request a trim. Thankfully it will grow back eventually. The biggest part of customer service is listening to the customer and not ignoring the request and doing what you want.

I went with my kids, I left them for 20 min. Then when I came back they were so mean and two of the staff there started yelling at me because I left the two boys 16yrs and 12yrs without paying. Before I pay for them, I explained to them that I usually leave them until they’re done then they call me and I go pick them up and pay. But they treated me so bad and I found when I left that they spoke to my kids in a bad way in front of people and told them to pay before getting haircut next time. This was the worst experience in any barbershop I went to. I don’t recommend them at all.

They all did a great job getting everyone taken care quickly. I would go there again for sure!!

The only thing consistent with the several Great Clips locations that I've visited in many states is that I ALWAYS have to request (at least three times) the obvious -- that I want my hair even on both sides -- and that I will leave Great Clips with my hair uneven (to say the least). And yes, this is despite supplementing my request with hairstyle pics stored on my phone. And yes, this is despite going in Great Clips cautiously and kindly, knowing that I will seem ridiculous and excessive for asking the obvious -- and then asking two more times. No matter the approach rehearsed -- and even having consulted a cosmetologist friend and being told that the description of my request makes perfect sense -- I have never left Great Clips without their standard, uneven men's cut.
Why do I return? They are open late and this fits my harsh schedule. But my last visit was my last visit. The stylist at the Chenal Little Rock, Ar location was hostile from the moment I walked-in, and she left me smelling like her bad habit. I can usually forgive lack of talent and poor personal hygiene, but not an attitude to boot. I'm done spending an hour attempting to fix my hair every time I leave Great Clips.

She snipped away furiously for a few minutes at the back of my head, and then declared herself finished after using a blow dryer and brush to style it till dry. She gave me a mirror so I could only view the back... no side mirrors. One side of my head has hair that flips out and everything is very uneven. It looks horrible. She didn't even try. All I wanted was for my bob to be cleaned up, but results are bad.

I took my daughter to the Great Clips in Parker near Sprouts and the supposed hair stylist named Janie was absolutely horrible! Not only did she repeatedly complain about my daughter having chlorine build up in her hair (but didn’t offer or suggest to wash her hair), she left an obviously long patch of hair at the nape of her neck. When I pointed it out and asked her to trim it evenly, she got very defensive and went on to explain that this is how an undercut should look. So I asked her again if she would trim it a little more even, she refused.
I left and went to the Arapahoe Crossing Great Clips, where the stylist agreed that my daughter's hair was quite uneven in the back and she gladly fixed it with no charge. I had checked in to get my hair cut as well but after Janie’s extremely rude and argumentative behavior, I was not going to let her near my hair! I’ve always heard the expression that the customer is always right and apparently Janie should be in a different field of work or retrained to accept constructive criticism.

Then halfway, my son was fussing and can't stay still so we were trying to distract him, then this other lady that is working there said, "you guys back off, he is distracted by you."
Then she took over cutting my son's hair, pulled the chair towards her with force seemingly angry. Told the other staff to hold my son's hands. Until my son was crying and don't wanna do it, she took my son off the chair and said that I have to do something with my son's behaviour. My son has some developmental delays and was already scared in the first place, this will not help him and he may be scared to have another haircut in the future. We'll definitely not go back to this salon ever.

I am now with a stylist downtown, yes I am paying more but it is well worth it. It is going to take at least 3 more hair cuts to get the mess cleared up! Really, this is uncalled for. I took my daughter to get a haircut at Great Clips (Shopper Plaza, Gibsonia, PA) today. She wanted about 3 inches cut off. We sat in MaryAnne's chair and explained and showed her what we wanted. I even stayed to watch her make the first cut (about an inch below the chin). I then went and sat down, trusting that the haircut would be as explained. I was wrong. When I went to check in on my daughter I saw that her hair was now cut up to her lips. And to make matters worse, it was very choppy. My daughter was in tears. When I questioned her about the length, she said it was "shrinkage". That is just a lie. I know my daughter's straight hair, and it does not shrink 2.5 inches.
I then questioned why it was so choppy. MaryAnne said that she would fix that, but also said that in order to fix it, her hair would be even shorter. Another hair stylist stepped in when she saw how upset my daughter and I were and fixed her hair as best as she could. We were not charge (and believe me, I wouldn't have paid anyways). I was also offered a gift certificate, but I turned it down because we will NEVER be back. The woman who fixed my daughter's hair said that MaryAnne messes up quite often. If MaryAnne wasn't comfortable cutting girls' hair, then she should tell people. I would have gladly waited for another stylist. This woman should not be cutting anyone's hair. I've never seen my daughter so upset before and I don't blame her. Instead of getting 3 inches cut off, she had close to 6. So now I will no longer be going back to Great Clips until they can stop charging customers an arm and a leg just for a water rinse as I always tend to get a rinse right after my haircut so I have decided to take my Business elsewhere as in The meantime I hope Great Clips gets shut down!!! She said, “Yes but she is leaving and other stylist left and just no time for more”. Still door is open I see some people still went in but my service was refused on 2 location at same day. I take my kids for while at Hikes location and I have my both kids haircuts done just last Thursday on November 30 and I have been satisfied with their work on my kids especially for my son...but after this I will not go back although it doesn't looks like they care at all.

Freedom Pkwy, Cumming, GA - I had a wonderful experience today at Great Clips! I got the check-in app for my phone and checked in when I left my house. When I arrived, I was greeted by name and asked to wait for a few minutes while the next stylist in line was finishing with a client. I was so excited it was going to be Wes! I've had Wes a couple of times before and was always been delighted with his work. I should add I always asked for a different style than the one I was currently sporting. He is very knowledgeable with his craft, helpful, and friendly. Everyone at this location is friendly, and I will continue to bring my business here.

Then when you finally get in the chair, your time is interrupted x 5 every time your hairdresser addresses the next walk in. Then the hairdressers all chatting at the desk trying to troubleshoot the system, all the long I’m sitting... waiting... When I say to hairdresser, "You guys need a receptionist" she says to me “there no money for that, at 4.99 a haircut people who come are coupon hunters”: and won’t be back when coupons are over in January... So much for retention. I think I’d rather pay more, have an actual time, and a professional.

I could tell from the time I entered the salon the two employees were very new staffers. They were so busy talking with each other that I had to interrupt them to get service. I was the only customer there. They continued to talk to each other the whole time I was there. All they did was complain about everything I.e. other Great Clips stores they previously worked at, former colleagues etc. etc. The list goes on and on. My stylist Ernest never said a word to me. All he did was complain about everything and anything. E.g. His own accidents from clumsiness at a newly opened up gym.
I was extremely uncomfortable there. I was literally wanting to walk out. Ernest was removing my cape and collar when I asked him to trim my eyebrows, his very quick response was "I'm not done yet." Very rude. Never asked if I wanted gel etc. I've been going to Great Clips for many years at many different locations and never had an issue. This Ernest needs to learn manners, etiquette and to certainly not badmouthing his employer in front of customers or anyone for that matter.

I left the store without cutting my son's hair and went to another location when they cut his hair in seconds. The managers are in their 20's and have no clue how to run salon or even cut hair. The prices are cheap because the stylist are required to cut hair in under 16 mins. If you want a ten dollar messed up haircut. You’ll get what you paid for at this salon. I’d go to Fantastic Sams or Supercuts before giving any Great Clips a chance to screw up your hair. The first thing the stylist did was cut straight into the side without parting it effectively cutting the length off the top. I immediately said no and she turned the chair away from the mirror and said she would fix it. 15 minutes later she showed it to me and she did the same thing on the other side and neither side was even close to even!!
To try "fixing it" all they did was cut the right side 3 inches higher up on my head so the sides of the section are 1 inch and the top is 4. I look like a Goth version of Mr. Potato Head!! I left so mad I didn't get my receipt and contacted customer service. Great Clips Location: 692 S Andy Griffith Pkwy #109, Mt Airy, NC 27030. Date: 8/5/2017. I brought the picture I wanted, discussed it with him. He asked if I wanted it where my hairline was and I said, "No that's way too short. I want it exactly like the picture." I had also asked for a deep conditioning and style. He placed the picture on his station propped up and never looked at it again, although I prompted him 4 separate times to look at it saying, "No just like the picture." He had to ask the other stylist how to do a deep conditioning. He left me in the dryer 27 minutes instead of recommended 15-20 from other stylist. I had to remove myself because my face was red, my eyes felt burned and I couldn't stand it any longer. He later laughed and said, "Yeah sorry I left you in there an extra 5 minutes".
I literally pointed to my back the length I wanted and said that I did NOT WANT IT TOO SHORT! I want it just like the picture. I would have been fine if it was even close to that. After cutting it too short and me telling him, he proceeds to TRY and CURL IT towards the back of my head. I said, "That's not what I want. I want it a slight wave... see how it goes straight down, not small curls toward the back of my head." He says, "So you don't want it curled?" I said, "No I want it just like the picture" and pointed to it again. Using a flat iron he even went over the same pieces of hair because he kept crimping it like he's never had much experience totally negating the deep condition I just got because he fried my hair going over and over the same pieces before I stopped him.
He hands me the mirror to see the back and I was in shock. Not only in shock from the too short and very uneven front and sides, but the back. The back is so short it's barely over an inch in length. I said, "Do you see the length in the picture I provided? Does it look like that length at all???" He tries to tell me it's like that from my previous cut. NO IT IS NOT! I walked in with my hair in a bun on the top of my head requesting a cut at least 4 inches longer in the back then he butchered it to and gradually increasing lengths as it comes around to the front. It barely reaches my chin in the front and it should have been the length of my shoulder. And one side is longer than the other. Taking the 12 dollars off of the 34 dollar cost in no way helps. It will take at least 3 years to get it to the length he should have cut it up too.

Went to Great Clips today for the first time. No customers were in there so I got right in. She took about 5 minutes to cut my hair then asked me if it was ok. She hadn't dried my hair yet but I assumed she was referring to the amount she cut off. At that point she said I was done. My hair was sopping wet. She said most people don't want it dried. She never offered to dry my hair. She never mentioned that they don't wash your hair unless you tell them to. She never even offered to wash it. I asked her to dry it for me. She said "if I dry it, I have to charge you". She never mentioned anything about any of their services even though they have a menu on the wall and I am new to Great Clips. She didn't completely dry my hair but asked me if the cut was what I wanted. How can you tell if that's what you want when it's still wet. When she said she was done I never had a chance to ask for anything else. She was already at the register.
I felt rushed and I was rushed. I got home and got a mirror. OMG! I have 3 different lengths to my hair. There is a 1" wide area in the back that is shorter than the rest, and, both sides do not match. That is, by far, the worst haircut I have ever had. She was the only one working that morning and she was rushing to get me done because someone had walked in after me. Originally she was about to cut my hair dry. I said, "no you can't do that" so she kept spraying my hair to get it wet on the ends. That's when I told her it was ok to wash it. She said she had to charge me for that. I didn't care. I just assumed that washing it was something salons automatically did but I guessed wrong. I just wanted her to do it right. Normally, you would have to tell a hairstylist it's ok not to wash your hair but in this case, it's the opposite.
If you want a professional cut, don't go to Great Clips. That's not what they're all about. They're about speed, not accuracy or quality. The old adage. You get what you pay for because now, $29 later, I have to go to a more professional salon and have this uneven mess fixed and most of it was because she was in a hurry to get to the next person. I have long straight hair and just wanted the ends trimmed. No styling at all and I was the only customer in there at the moment until the other person walked in. It shouldn't have been that difficult. Trim the ends but do it straight. I have never been to Great Clips before and won't go back. I can't have this disaster again. I can't believe this. What a mess! I never expected that to happen. She was very nice but extremely rushed and I paid the price.

I went into this Great Clips location in Dover Pa about 2 weeks ago... thinking they could do a simple of my hair (let me point out my hair is at my neck and very straight). Their stylist (I use that term loosely) brought out the trimmers... ok I thought she was going to clean up my neck line. O NO she did not. She proceeded to use the trimmers (clippers) on the back of my head. I said, "Wait what are you doing?" Her response "I thought you want that short". If she would have taken 1 minute and asked me and or read the notes in my file she would have known that my hair is NEVER cut that short. This so called stylist tried and tried to fix my hair... but no matter how she tried to style it my hair stood straight up. I was sitting in the chair just crying... even after she butchered my hair beyond anything. I wanted to place a bag over my head to face anyone. She had the nerve to charge me. I left in tears.
Called a local salon and begged them to try to fix the damage... Luckily I met a stylist at Falic's in Dover who did her best to comfort me and fix my hair, the cut from Great Clips was so blunt there is no way my hair would do anything. Crystal from Falic's had to go in and make angle cuts to make my hair look presentable. After 2 weeks I have for the most part stopped crying. I still try to avoid mirrors.
I will tell everyone in the Dover Pa area "STAY AWAY from this Great Clips. They will butcher your hair with no regard to what you want." These stylist need more training. As a cosmetologist you should find classes and attend classes to learn more about what you are doing. As a cosmetologist if you get bored with what you’re doing move on. You are in the wrong field of work. These stylist are supposed to make you feel beautiful when you leave their chair. That day I felt so ugly and hideous I wanted to hide from anyone and could not stand the thought of someone seeing me like that.

I've been going to Great Clips since I moved here about ten years ago. While the service was mediocre, I never had a reason to not go back until now. I took my two daughters in for haircuts, one of them was going to donate her hair to Locks of Love. As my daughters are sitting there, the two ladies cutting their hair begin to look at one another and deeply analyze their hair. I was sure I saw a wink between the two. One of them calls me over to say my two girls have lice. They tried to point it out to me, but I saw nothing. They instantly distanced themselves from my daughters, and even myself, making it clear that my daughters were infested to the ENTIRE shop. My daughters were mortified and even started crying, but the workers showed no sympathy, simply shooing them away. In the distress of them not getting their hair cut, I was conned into purchasing a lice treatment kit for $45 that I could have easily bought at Walgreens for $10.
I got home and began to treat my daughters' hair, only to discover the workers had freaked out over some dry scalp. I couldn't believe they had the audacity to lie to my face and then charge for the haircut, even though no work was done. My daughter talked to her friend, who had been lied to three separate times about lice from Great Clips. The workers were extremely suspicious and unhelpful, causing panic among my family through their deceitful nature. Part of me believes they set up this act so they wouldn't have to go through the process of sending my daughter's hair to Locks of Love. I am never setting foot into another Great Clips!!! I may even sue for the financial and emotional damage they caused my family!!!

She cut off at least 1 to 1-1/4 inches off. That is a lot when your hair is short to begin with. Jenny should definitely not be allowed to cut short hair. She just does not know what she is doing! She might be ok with someone with long hair. I don't know.
Every morning when I try to fix my hair I want to cry. I actually wished I had taken them to court.
