I have different medical problems, and I live alone, and my daughter thought it was a good idea for me to have LifeStation. I feel a little bit more confident knowing that I’ve got something here. We have tested it a couple of times to be sure it was working and my experience with the LifeStation team was fine. Everything is okay with LifeStation.
Nancy, thank you for taking the time to write a review, we’re so glad that having the LifeStation service could help you to feel more confident.

The team at LifeStation was very helpful. They called my mother frequently to make sure that the system was activated and that her batteries was charged. Also, when we needed a new battery it was there the next day. It's much better than her previous medical alert device. That's why we changed. My mom was living alone and we got it for her for myself and my brother's peace of mind. At that point when we got the system, we both live out of town in a different state.
My mother had used LifeStation several times when she fell. The only difficulty was the last time that she used it, when she had her fall which was what made us decide she was ready for assisted living. She claims that she had fallen and she kept ringing the alert and nobody was responsive to it. She rang it and rang it for hours and it was overnight. I hadn't spoken with her nor my brother until the morning and she never picked up. So, my brother who lived about 40 minutes away at that point, came up to check on her. In the interim she kept pressing the button, she was on the floor for about eight hours. Finally, she was able to get a response in the morning and they sent the rescue squad immediately.
My brother had arrived at the same time with the rescue squad. So immediately we called LifeStation and they said that they had never received any calls or they would have sent somebody immediately like they did in the morning. They reported that sometimes when there's a failure or a disconnect with the phone company somehow LifeStation wouldn't even get the alert information or the alarm to send somebody. So, they didn't even know that she had been pressing the button all night.
I believe she did have that fall because she was badly bruised. When they found her, her walker was on top of her and she could not get up at all. She said she had just finished brushing her teeth and was heading in to bed around nine or ten o'clock at night when this happened. That was her daily routine. I think she was reporting accurately, her mind is still pretty good. But I just don't know why there was a disconnect and why they weren't able to respond to her. She was not near a phone where she could call my brother or anybody else. So, that was really bad. But when I spoke to the representative at LifeStation she was very apologetic.
The rep said, "I don't have it in the log. We even received the call until like 6:45 o'clock in the morning. There was nothing reported on the log. Maybe there was some kind of a disconnect with the phone system or they had an outage." I called the phone company first but they couldn't respond to that at all. They weren't aware of an outage in the area. But at that point we were just concerned with her well being, they took her to the hospital. She was in rehab for three weeks. Then my brother and I found a place for her. She was very happy with it at that point. She really needed the assisted living.
Besides that one incident, the people at LifeStation were very responsive, very polite and professional. They were very good. I returned the unit because I was the one paying for it. They were very nice to work with and offered us a nice discount. I had no other concern. I just wanted to follow up and make sure because they should receive the return by now and hopefully will credit my account or any portion. I would recommend them. For the whole year and a half, we were very satisfied with them.
Thank you, Judy for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your mothers fall. We would love to go over the account in more detail. Please give us a call at our 24/7 customer service line at 800.998.2400 for further review of the account.

LifeStation was the first medical alert I've ever had. I always have the device around my neck because a lot of times I’m in the house by myself so I feel safe having it. I’m 98 years old and I make mistakes. I’d lean on it but they responded right away. They were always cooperative and forgiving. So far, they have been very nice to me. And lately, I’ve been very careful.

I had a stroke three years ago and I got LifeStation then and my family wanted me to keep it. I have it for emergencies but I never wear it. I call them once a month to check, and sometimes, it takes a while for them to answer my call. If I’m wounded or down or needed service, I would be very unhappy with how long it took for them to answer my call.

My kids got LifeStation for me in 2012. Right off the bat, when I got it, I had it on a necklace and I pushed the thing. I didn’t know I did, I was working in the kitchen, and I had everybody here on a very short notice, so I know it works. I live in a small community in the country so it didn’t take them long to respond. Their reps have always been courteous when I call in to check my deal. So far, I’ve not got down where I had to have them but I always feel safe and comfortable because I got their device.

We’ve had LifeStation for about three years and all seems to be working okay. It's for my mother-in-law who’s 98 and in a mother-in-law suite. Once in a while, we need to go out so we need to have something to back us up. We haven’t had an emergency but we’ve set it off by accident a couple of times and there’s always someone there to tell us how to reset it. LifeStation is technology that works very well and backed up by a competent staff. It's something essential for us and we’re satisfied.

After I called and told the team that I couldn’t find my bracelet, I found it where I had the blood sugar attack the night before on my couch. The person from the team that I dealt with was nice, and she said that the replacement was $25. My daughter lives eight hours from here and we just lost my son who used to live with me. Since having the device, I know that if I hit the button, somebody will be here really quickly. They might be the police, fire or ambulance. I have used the button a couple of times, and they always answered my calls and sent responses out here for me. Everything has been working on my end since I found my bracelet. I'd recommend it for anyone to have it because it has saved my life more than one time. I have had two little ladies here to go ahead and get one as well. I told them, "You all are falling all the time. You need to have the bracelet or necklace on".

My LifeStation device didn't operate because the battery was gone. They replaced it with a new machine but it took quite a long time for them to decide that it wasn’t working. Other than that, it’s all right. It worked. With LifeStation, I know that as long as I’m in the house, I can call somebody. The only problem is I sometimes hit the button by accident, and they take a long time to respond. I have never counted how many times they say emergency when they answer. My son was here installing the new watch when they mailed it to us, and he was surprised that there were so many - it’s six or eight times that they say emergency before they say your name. Nevertheless, I have recommend LifeStation to a friend.

I got LifeStation because in the beginning, it was paid for by the government. Then that changed and I decided to keep it. I have the pendant and my experience has been mostly good except I wanted the one with the GPS chip in it. I couldn’t hear it so I had to return it and they said it was from a different manufacturer so I hope at some point they will change that. The one emergency I had, I have a friend who lives with me and we ended up going to the emergency room but we didn’t have to use the pendant ‘cause she was here. I also have the lock box which is good because I don’t want anybody breaking down the door.
Overall I'm quite happy with LifeStation. Every once in a while, I test it and I tell them I'm testing it. I like that the caps won’t cause an emergency. If my friend goes out to go to church, I can use it so I’m not alone. The only glitch I had is when I sent back something. There was a one-button device that was like a cellphone and it called 911. I sent it back and they lost it for a while. Then they figured out that they had it, or they believed me when I said I sent it back and I could get a tracking number. But they believed it so we worked that out. They’ve been very nice, they’ve answered all my questions and everything has gone well.

I hit the call button when I had a stroke and I needed to get to the hospital. LifeStation's rep came pretty quick and the alarm turned up very loud which will make you jump out of bed. I had an excellent experience and I like having the device. I have also recommended it to others. I’m used to having it hanging around my neck and on my chest. Every once in a while I would realize I was pushing on it and one time, I did something and leaned on it. I have the one that reaches only 25 feet from the house so if I'm outside practice walking around the block for 100 yards, it will not reach that distance. I can’t walk very far and go downtown or to McDonald’s with it. LifeStation should bring the price down so people like me can afford to get the one that's connected to a satellite and allows you to walk anywhere.

Also, the little plastic band that goes with the device is so flimsy. It comes apart after two months and just break. It's real cheap and not designed to last for an extended period. My experience with LifeStation has been terrific and I feel safe with it. My husband has Parkinson’s and he keeps falling so I use it for him but I have it because I’m the type that falls, too. But thank God I haven’t fallen yet. And, if I go out with somebody that has a phone, I leave it on him when he’s alone in case he falls while I’m not around. The only complaint I have is me because I hit the button and it doesn’t work sometimes because my hands are weak. Nonetheless, their reps were very good. If I’m nervous, they make me calm down and then I can talk to them. I just wish that the battery lasts for 10 years and that I don’t have to put it on the machine. I recharge it at night while I’m sleeping because I feel I’m safe in bed. But I’m afraid that if I get up and I forget to go get it, I might fall. I'm disabled and very ill, and I'm not able to get to a phone to call someone when my workers are not available, so I had to get a medical alert device. My experience with LifeStation was 100% wonderful. They called me right back. One time, I was in a life-and-death situation and as soon as I pushed the help button on my LifeStation device, an intercom came on and a rep said, “Do you need help?" and I said, “Can you please send an ambulance?”
I love my LifeStation device and I've been feeling safe since having it, but I have two issues. One time, I had my necklace on when I went to the hospital, but the hospital staff didn’t give it back. At another time, when I went to the hospital again, the people there had to take my bracelet off to put my identification band on, but they didn’t give that back either. The problem was that, after LifeStation saved my life, I was down for two days and if I had my necklace or bracelet, I would have been able to get help. So, the only thing I’m asking for is if LifeStation can resend a necklace and a bracelet to me.

So, I decided it was time to think ahead of time and get something that would help me.
My LifeStation device takes my worry away. I use the necklace around my neck. For a while, I tested it every couple of months, and I’ve really backed off to 1 every six months for the test. I got a higher confidence in the machine and in the system. The only complaint I had was when they replaced my transmitter, they had to send the old one back, and I understand they probably had a program to use them again, which is fine, but the economics of it wasn’t really smart. I live by myself and the doctor told me that I have to be careful. He said that if I fall, I'll lay on the floor with a broken hip for four days before my kids come by and find me there. That's something that I thought about so I decided I ought to do get the LifeStation for myself. I don't need it otherwise. I'm healthy, I drive, I go out, I do all my yard and house work, plus I do my painting. But I do things like climbing ladders and pruning the bushes, so I could fall. I have LifeStation for security when I'm inside the house and it's only for about 1,000 feet around the area. Once l'm out on the street, I'm depending on people out there to help me. But I still keep the LifeStation on me if I'm out because if I don't, I won't get the habit and forget to put it back on. I have it for about three years now. I read the directions and I know I just have to push the button if I need help or I'm going to test it. I can wear it around my neck or make a wrist out of it like a watch.
I have it on my wrist so everybody always asks me about it and thinks it's a fancy watch. I used to have it on my neck but one time, when I leaned up against the table, the chain pushed the button and called the fire department. My former husband, who was my emergency contact, called and asked me what was the matter. By that time, the doorbell rang and from when I was standing in the kitchen, I could see out on the street that the fire department was there. Then the fireman poked his head in the door because it was unlocked and saw that I was all right.
It was quite funny and reassuring that somebody's going to get in touch with me in case anything happened. After that, I stopped wearing my LifeStation on my neck. I also thought that if I wore it on my neck and inside my shirt, I won't remember to push it if I'm really dazed. In fact, a reliable person told me that his mother had one which she used on her neck but when she fell down, she didn't use it because she didn't remember it. But if I had it on my wrist, I would see the device and remember to push the button. I have the inexpensive LifeStation and so far, it's meeting my needs. Their reps send me a new battery when it's dying and I don't know how they know I need a new one. That's good though and I feel secure with it. But later, when I feel uncomfortable or unsure of myself, I will get the one that will keep tracking me wherever I'm at.
Helen, thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We’re glad that you got to see how fast the emergency response was when you pressed your Help Button by accident, and it’s good to hear that you found wearing it on your wrist was a better solution for you. I’m wearing my LifeStation device on my wrist right now and I don't take it off. I don’t even know it’s there, and it’s good to know that I’ve got it. It’s a possibility leaving it at night. It’s probably greater than any other time. If I’m careless and don’t get a hold of my walker, then I’m in trouble because I’m in my mid 80s now and my balance was a problem. It takes almost nothing for me now to lose my balance and I still have not gotten any satisfaction as to what happened to cause me to have this balance problem. If I didn’t have that problem, I’d be pretty good because I will feel much better. I believe my family definitely feels better about it. I know I do because I have neighbors that live fairly close by me. I don’t like to have to go and get the whole rescue squad here because that’s more trouble. But, I have used the ambulance a couple of times to go to the local hospital 30 miles away.
After I got my device, I did have to put a call in one time when I fell and couldn’t get up. I actually tripped on ice in my driveway. There were ruts and my toe caught one of the top part of one of the ruts and I went down. I used the button and from where I was, I can hear in here in my living room that someone had responded, but they couldn’t hear me. So the device works. They had someone there in about 10 minutes.
When I pushed the button, someone came on within a minute, we talked and they gave me information. There are a couple times that I haven’t wanted to get the whole rescue squad involved ‘cause I wasn’t hurt. I just needed help. So, I had an opportunity to express my feelings about that and I told them who I wanted them to call. That’s very handy to be able to do that now. My daughter and her husband was there so they helped me up. Now, I put on the LifeStation first thing in the morning and wear it all the time. I have also recommended it to friends.

LifeStation makes me feel secure knowing that if I needed emergency help, it was at my fingertips. I told my niece that I would like to have a system that I could carry with me when I go out of town so I'd be covered. And so, she went online and looked up monitors. We reviewed a lot of them and we both came to the conclusion that LifeStation was what we wanted. When I've spoken to the LifeStation team, they've been very helpful and courteous. I wear the necklace and it doesn't bother me, but I don't have it on if I'm just sitting around in my house. I have it on the table or where I'm sitting. Also, I put it on the nightstand by my bed when I sleep, and it's within reach if I need it. But if I'm walking outside, I put it on.
The only problem I have is when it needed to be charged. And if that time comes in the middle of the night, it is a little bit worrisome but I'm coping with it. It takes four hours to charge it. And if I forget that I have it on the charger, I may wind up charging it a little bit longer than four hours. I've worked it out, and I know approximately when it's going to need to be put back on the charger. Overall, my experience with it has been good.

I wear the necklace, which fits me and my needs better than the bracelet would. It's adequate and I sleep with it around my neck. I had to use the emergency button on one occasion and the response was very prompt. I felt as though I needed them and I called them, and they were here within 15 minutes, which was adequate. So far, I'm very satisfied with their treatment.

I set up LifeStation for my father-in-law and their team treated me fine. He had a problem with it staying charged and the battery running dead, and then he finally figured out how to put it within reaching distance while he was asleep to charge it at night. And his has fall detection, and until he learned to put it in his t-shirt pocket, it would go off a lot. But other than that, it’s all been a good experience.
My father-in-law gets aggravated at me for making him wear the device. He also gets aggravated at it sometimes because I make him wear it and also because of the price, but I thought it was cheaper than a nursing home. So I told him, “Look, it’s either this or a nursing home." My husband and I both work, and I don’t want to leave him there. My brother-in-law works for a medical care facility and he offered his product, but it didn’t have fall detection, and it didn’t have to where you could just go anywhere. You had to stay just so many feet within to get it to work. You can’t get so far from the house. Now, once I explained that this has it, he was okay. LifeStation gives us the peace of mind that we need, and we feel assured that he’s up and he’s fine. He knows that if I catch him without it, he’s in trouble.

My daughter-in-law got me the LifeStation necklace because I fell and fractured my leg and my husband passed away and I'm here by myself. When I first got it, my son out the station in the family room. I have a large house and I was way in the other part of the house in my bedroom when I rolled over in bed and accidentally set it off. I woke up and heard some talking but I just thought I was dreaming. It was actually EMAs that LifeStation sent out. After that, my son moved the station to my husband's study. It's closer but it's still on the outside. He also told LifeStation to call the phone first before they send someone out and they agreed on that. But I was outside one weekend and they didn't call. I guess it was a new person on and didn't know they were supposed to call first. LifeStation actually had to come out two different times so I don't sleep with the necklace anymore. And I probably need two stations in my house, one in the family room and one back in my bedroom.
Also, when I'm in the kitchen and bend over, the necklace will swing over and hit the cabinet. I'm afraid it's going to set it off again so I usually don't wear it. But I know if I had fallen and couldn’t get up, that wouldn’t help me. And I realized that, but it doesn’t seem to be working out too good. So I've been thinking about switching over to a bracelet. I had so much trouble with the necklace and the best thing for me to do is to just call LifeStation and switch over.

My son got the LifeStation for me because I have health issues. The final straw for him was when I had surgery for lung cancer, plus hip problems and severe arthritis so I use a walker and a cane. I'm almost 82 and I live by myself so he was concerned. The system is very good and the cost is reasonable for what I got. I've tested it and they've been very quick to respond. In fact, my daughter accidentally pressed the button on the unit itself because I had it on the kitchen counter and she was cleaning off the kitchen counter. She didn’t realize she pushed the button and it scared her. It was so loud and their reps came on the line right away. The little button also popped out a couple of times and I was able to pop it back in.
There are two other residents in my community that have the LifeStation and one of them used it frequently. I know because I was the one that went to her home when she had fallen because she called me as well. She used her LifeStation button to call and it worked fine. Then, when I was in the hospital and the system wasn’t working correctly, LifeStation's reps called to inform me about it. My daughter was here and she happened to answer the phone. They told her that my device was malfunctioning so they corrected the problem, told her what to do, and sent me a new one. My daughter was very impressed that they caught that there was a problem. When I got home from the hospital four days later, I had a new thing for my necklace.
Several of my neighbors have fallen in their backyards and had to scream, yell and hope that somebody passing by heard them. Whereas when I go out my backyard, I always leave my patio door open and the unit is in the kitchen so if I'm out in the backyard, if something happens, I can push the button and the unit will pick it up. So I feel more comfortable having it for that reason. I'm satisfied with it and I'm glad I haven’t had to really use it. But I've been very pleased with it based on the limited experience that I've had with it. I've also recommended it to a couple of people.
Joan, thank you for sharing your story with us. We’re so glad you’ve enjoyed having the LifeStation service and feel safer in your own home with it. I figured I got to have some way of contacting people. Whenever she has had to use it, LifeStation immediately called back. They’ve sent people when she needed it and we have no complaints. They’ve always followed through. Even when she called on her own and was being taken to the hospital, they called and let me know. She called them one time because she was throwing up. I’ve fallen since but I was right where I could pick myself up and I didn’t injure myself. I had a railing outside that was right there where I fell and then I didn’t need to press the button. The thing is too bulky to wear around the neck so I wear the wristband but it’s still too bulky and the band is crappy. It could be narrower. Also, it gets gray, soiled, dirty looking and I had it break on two occasions so I ordered a new wristband. And even though LifeStation is a bit pricey, I recommend it to people who have asked what I have.

She's alone and I wanted to make sure she's okay. So far, she's never had to use it but she finds it convenient and she wears it around her neck. They have called her many times and she's talked to them so she finds it very convenient. It's the first time I've ever used LifeStation. I got it out of a magazine and I went straight with them. I've had a few accidents touching the LifeStation's console but so far, I haven’t had any trouble being in touch with anybody. Everybody that answers were very nice, very efficient, and they made sure that I’m okay before they hang up. I’m very much satisfied with their service. I will be moving to Florida within this year but I would like to have that with me when I go. However, I want to change it to the service that can reach you anywhere in the USA if you pass out or had an accident, although it’s more expensive. I do have an illness that I could pass out and I’ve spoken to a lot of people about that service such as this one young man who lost his grandmother because she had fallen and she didn’t want that service. I said that service will be in touch with LifeStation team and they’ll know and they can inform you of it and your mother, father, grandparents etc, won’t suffer that long if something like that was installed. And he went and got the service, too.
I had it before I got sick and I used the service one time when I slipped, fell and I couldn’t get up. I called LifeStation and I was safe. Therefore, I will absolutely never live without it. It's absolutely necessary if they are elderly or they have an illness or disability. It gives you a sense of security that you can get somebody because even those living in the house with you may step out and you could be in the house all alone and within 5-10 minutes, you could be dead. It’s a tragedy that’s not necessary. A disabled person needs to have it on them 24 hours a day. I really recommend it. It’s worth the price of security and safety and it gives your family or loved ones a sense of security too. They don’t have to worry about you because they’re with you at all times. All you have to do is press that button and LifeStation will know where you are within 10 minutes. They’re always friendly and thorough, and I love them.

So far, I've pushed the help button to test the device, but I haven't had an actual emergency yet. One concern I had was that there were times when I pushed the help button and the alarm continued to beep for a long time, but the reps couldn't access me through the unit and I didn't hear them answering through it, so they had to call me on my phone.
Another thing was that, when I adjusted the length of the cord, it didn't stay at the length that I set it, but instead it released and slipped, so the device hang way down to my waist. I've had several, different cords and they all did the same thing. The problem was with the design or manufacture of the cord, so there was no point in sending me a new cord because they all did the same thing. Sometimes, I just tucked the device in my bra, but then it was that close and right next to my body.

When hurricane Irma came through, I called LifeStation to let them know that we didn’t have any power. So, they called the technicians and let them know that we’re without power. Then after everything had passed, we did get power. It wasn’t off for 24 hours. When we did get power, someone from LifeStation called me and said that they had received an alert that I had low battery. We got everything straightened out and I’m delighted. Also one time, I didn’t even know I had rested my other arm on the wrist and LifeStation called me. They told me it had gone off and it was working, and then they asked if I was testing it. Firemen in three trucks and a nurse or EMT were able to get out right away to me, and they helped me into the carrier and took me to the emergency room of the hospital. Prior to this incident, I was thinking about calling and telling my brother that I didn't need the alert device, but when that happened I was extremely glad that I had it and it's still sitting by here.

My friend, who has a LifeStation advised me to get it. She said that I could fall in the house and I might not be able to get up. She also added that since I'm on my own, it's even more important to wear it in the house than in the streets because in the streets I could get help.

My family doesn't want me in the house by myself without a medical alert device like LifeStation. Everybody at LifeStation seems to be nice. However, the device is not easy to wear. The neck thing is too long and then if you bring it up it hangs down. I'm putting it inside my blouse all the time because they are already calling me to say emergency with just a little swing. The other day it was on the table and they called and said emergency. But other than that, everything seems to be all right. I'm very satisfied with it and I would recommend it.

I have some balance issues and I walk with a walker. My daughter and her brothers were not around so that's why we got the LifeStation device. She thought if she wasn't here that it would be better for me to have something besides my cellphone. Plus, it would be safer for me to have someone to call who knew about the lockbox and who could come and rescue me if I needed rescuing. I also wanted to have something that had a GPS on it and the device has been great. I carry it around my neck but a couple of times, I accidentally bumped it with my hand and turned it on. They called and asked whether I was all right and I told them I accidentally turned it on. It makes me and my family feel safe. I've also spoken to several people that I thought should have one but they said, on their budget, they couldn't afford to have the GPS on it.

Though the idea is for me not to use LifeStation, I'm so glad it's there. I'm living alone and my balance is getting worse, plus I almost went backward several times. I got a little concerned. Also, I almost fell into the coffee table and I knew I needed a walker. I called LifeAlert and they were very aggressive. Plus, they cost too much. I called LifeStation next and the rep explained everything. I didn't have any problems and I enjoyed talking to her. I think it's great.
It went off one time when I was in my little walk-in closet. The system is loud and you certainly can hear it. They asked the proper questions. I didn't know why it went off, but she explained immediately. That was the first time I had heard it come on. I couldn't connect it at all before and I have been all night and all day all week trying to connect it to my landline phone. My LifeStation sits on my nightstands in my bedroom, but, the thing in the wall where you would normally plug in a phone is dead. Now, people in the building see me, not with the thing around my neck because it doesn't work out of this unit, but I now have a walker rather than a cane. And when someone stops me to admire my walker, I tell them that I also have LifeStation and I've been very pleased with it.
Thank you, Barbara for your feedback. We are glad we were able to speak with you and had a chance to address your concern. As discussed, the device is connected properly and working well. I love the medical alert device of LifeStation. I'm a care provider and I'm comfortable in leaving my client, Virginia, who has this alert device. In fact, I have two other clients in the same neighborhood and I put them on the LifeStation system too, and I've just upgraded their alert devices to be like the unit of Virginia. The alert device of LifeStation is a whole lot better than other brands. It's a lot more sensitive and easier to use. I love the texting system on it and the fact that it sends text messages to me when it goes off and when it is reset, so I always know that somebody has reset the button. I get notified by the reps when my client accidentally sets the alarm off and I get a notification again when they cancel that call. We just go, "Oops," instead of rushing over to the client, which we have to do in an emergency.
Since having her LifeStation device, Virginia is a little more confident with her showering. I don't usually make it here till the afternoon and I noticed that she hasn't been as fearful as before when she showers. She has even been venturing outside, which is nice. She now goes out to her patio and waters some of the plants. The LifeStation device is fabulous. When my client shook the device off and set it on the counter, the impact registered as hitting the counter, which set off the alarm, and the reps at LifeStation called me, so the device works well. After Virginia set the device off accidentally, the reps called her but she didn't answer the phone, and the EMS and I were quick in coming here. Thank God everything was okay with Virginia. The response of the reps at LifeStation was perfect and wonderful.

I fell in the past and have used my LifeStation device. They were able to come and didn't take long. They responded here locally. They also made sure that they can get in that's why they contacted my kids that have the keys. There have been times as well when I wear it around my neck and I'm washing dishes and activated it myself by brushing against that thing. They called and were very good about understanding when I said I didn't need help. But I'm vision impaired and I want to know if it works if I'm outside. Also, I used to have another medical alert device which had a battery so it still worked even when I lost my power. But this LifeStation doesn't. I took a little fall one time and though it was not serious, I sat on the floor and thought if it had been a little worse, I'd be in big trouble. So I got up, looked up, talked to four or five different people and liked LifeStation the best. Everyone there is completely helpful and friendly. I pushed my button one time in the shower without knowing it and the fire truck was here before I got out of the shower. They were very nice, they said it was okay and they drove away. But I fall in the bathroom almost always and I have problems answering the phone because I'm not in reach of it. I have to shout around corners, and I'm not sure my voice reaches that floor. The box is internally located, if I'm standing I can be heard throughout. But, when I'm on the floor and the bathroom around the corner with walls and doors in between, it's difficult. So, I would suggest LifeStation to have upgrades that might answer my problem. Other than that, I'm really satisfied and it makes me feel very good that it responds as I press the button when I fall.

Years ago, my mother fell one evening and couldn’t get up. Our son went over to check in her house the next morning and she’d been sitting on the floor in the kitchen under the table all night long because she couldn’t get up and nobody knew she had a problem. We thought about that and I said, “We don’t want to go down that trail.” At present, my wife's health is getting bad. She just had her 89th birthday so obviously there are some problems that come along with getting that mature. She also has early stage dementia. Usually, I’m home with her but on a few occasions when if I had to go out, we want to make sure that she has a backup stop so in case of a fall, she’s not stuck.
This is our first experience with LifeStation and everything that I was told was gonna be available with it has matured. It has provided us with the safety and the peace of mind that we expected it would and for that reason, we are very happy with it. They have been fantastic. We test every month and occasionally my wife will forget she's got it on and drop it, but the team has done everything they're supposed to do. When we test it, they come right back up. Father’s Day 2014, I was getting dressed to go to my daughter in-law’s house and I was combing my hair in the bathroom. All of a sudden, the sink was falling and I couldn’t hold on to anything. I grabbed on the shower curtain and wound up in the bath tub. I live alone, and if my daughter wasn’t coming to pick me up, I probably still would be in the bath tub. I was really frightened, and that’s why I immediately ordered the LifeStation life alert. It’s the security that if anything really is wrong, somebody will eventually answer it.
The last time it went off, I said, “How could it be? I’m just washing dishes. My both hands are in the sink washing dishes. How could it go off?” And they said to me, “It’s very sensitive.” And every time you call, you get somebody else who gives you a lot of different nonsense. But what upsets me is that, when it does go off, it takes long for them to talk. A couple of times, my machine went off. It says, “Emergency” and I get a loud beep, “Emergency”, loud beep. I called up and I said, “How many times this is supposed to beep if it really is an emergency before you guys answer it?” and they said, “It wasn’t a long time.” Also, In December 2015, I didn’t push the button because I didn’t think they were fast enough and I called 911 on my own when I needed an ambulance because I couldn’t breathe. 911 answered the phone in a second.
Thanksgiving of 2016, I came home and my machine was off. It has a green light that’s supposed to always be on. I called LifeStation and they said, the electric must have gone off in my house. I said, “If it had gone out, my clocks would’ve been the wrong time.” They said they had no problem with it, but I said I do. The rep said, “Wait a few days, then if you have a problem, call back.” I did and said I am really not happy with this because I can’t say that it completely works. They weren’t very nice. Another time, they called me and they wanted to sell me something additional, if I'm outside I could push the button. But I said, “Let me tell you something. I don’t think you could handle what you got.”
I have told them. “How could you operate like this?” At one point, I asked to speak to the executive office. Unfortunately, I can’t get around like I normally did so I would’ve gone further, but at this point, I’m desperate and I’m at their mercy. After speaking to them, it sounds to me like it’s not a big company, like it’s a few people. And every time you call it, somebody different and everybody gives you a different story. If I had my choice, I would change. The only reason that I haven’t changed is because I have nobody that could disconnect the machine I have and reconnect another one. I would not recommend LifeStation.
Thank you, Sandra for your feedback. We are glad we were able to speak with you and had a chance to address all of your concerns. As discussed, your system is working fine. She had to have a custom-made boot to wear so she could stand and walk on her own when I wasn't home.
After she passed, the unit was transferred over to me. I'm using it a lot now since I just came back from a major stomach cancer surgery. I'm already able to get around, get out and do what I have to do. I re-married and even though my wife works just 15 minutes away from where we live, having LifeStation is reassuring that I have it in case I don't feel well and that I can get help on it immediately. I wear the button thing that I could push. I live in an over 55 gated community in Monroe Township, New Jersey and the firehouse and the EMT station is just five blocks away. I could walk it from our house. So any response would be very quick from over there. The device's easy to use and test to make sure it's working. And when I do test it, they come on the phone and they're very pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful and courteous. And with that, I have recommended them.
Mel, we’re glad that having the LifeStation system could help you as well as your family. We’re happy to hear that you find LifeStation to be easy to use and that you’ve recommended it to others. Thank you for taking the time to write a review.

I fell and broke my leg in a bad place and so, moving back to my apartment and looking around, if I had fallen in any other place, there would be no way for me to get help except if I had something on me that I could push the button and say, "Come and get me." So, I purchased LifeStation. I was told to check the medical alert device every month and the first time I hit the button, it looked like all hell was breaking loose. It was the noisiest thing ever. It went "emergency, emergency, emergency." I did not count on that and I don't like that part. I‘ve had it for three months and I haven't bothered to do it since because I don't want people running into my apartment thinking there's something wrong with me when there isn't. I wish there was some other way I could check in because people don’t believe me. They keep asking if I need help and I tell them I’m fine and all I’m doing is checking in.
I have had no reason to push my button at all since I got it. I have it on my wrist and I never take it off. I hope it works. I don't recommend anything like this to anybody. This is a personal thing. You either like it or you don't or you're going to buy it or you're not. I like it fine except for when I’m trying to check in. The noise is so overwhelming that when you live in an apartment that's only 500 square feet, you could imagine that everybody on my floor is going to know when I'm checking in but the experience is okay.

I’m living by myself since I lost my husband and my children live close by but they wanted me to have a medical alert. I’ve had LifeStation for quite a while but all I do is try it out. I’m not real pleased with the hand thing I need to carry with me when I go out from home. I have to hold down the button for so long before the light comes on and then I have to wait until I can push the button. I can use it myself quicker than that, so that needs to be changed. I talked to them about it and so I’m switching to mobile which I'd be getting next week. It's like a credit card and I just put it in my pocket, push it, and it comes on. Also, the people on the line are nice, wonderful, and very sweet but it takes a while to get them. If I could get better replies and easier, I would be more comfortable with it. Still, I’m satisfied that I could take LifeStation with me when I go on trips.

I got a LifeStation service for my mother because she had a fall in the church parking lot in the middle of winter, at 20 below zero. She couldn't get off the ground and she didn't have her phone her. She's going to be 90 in February. She doesn't need to be lying out on ice in the middle of the parking lot in a snowstorm. When I Googled LifeStation, it was the only one that came up that had a GPS that could be used outside in the community. Also, it has that phone-type box that my mom can carry in her fanny pack which she puts around her waist and it's easy for her. My mother has been happier and feels more secure with LifeStation. They were very good when we called too. There was a battery that went out so we had to call and get a new part and they sent it quickly. I've recommended them to people.
Margaret, we’re so glad that you got the LifeStation system in order to keep your mother safe when she is on her own. We understand how scary it can be to have a fall and be unable to get up or call for help, especially with the added fear of being in a winter storm. We want your Mother to always feel safe and secure that help is available to her wherever she goes, so the GPS unit was a great choice. Thank you for writing a review!

I'm 94 years old and LifeStation was the first medical alert service we had. We had the device that went with the telephone. However, that was no good because the station was upstairs and we were downstairs. If we were outside, there was no way to communicate with the station. I asked LifeStation about that and they said, “Well, they would automatically send 911.” So we got rid of that. Then we got two of the GPS type. However, the signal in the house was very poor and it only worked for one device. LifeStation sent me another one, but since that didn’t work either, we got rid of it totally. So I just have one. I have set my device off accidentally a couple of times. After a number of seconds, their team would call and I’d tell them it was an accident. The response time was so-so but that has a lot to do with the cell service. But it’s always nice to know that if we needed somebody, we have LifeStation.

I've almost died twice so my family wanted to make sure that I'd have some way of getting in touch of with the emergency systems, paramedics or whatever and my darling sister got a LifeStation for me because I used to take care of her when she was a young kid. So, we look out for each other. I have it hanging around my neck and it's absolutely reassuring because I'm in a wheelchair so I need help. When I was in an emergency situation, they're always very comforting, helpful and assured me that somebody would be there for me. Furthermore, I set the alarm off every month just to make sure everything is working and I have a specific date that I picked. So, every month when that date comes up, I hit the button and they respond to it. I feel very secure because I can call, hit the button, and I have paramedics, fire department, and the police's response and that's really very assuring to me.
Arleen, thank you for sharing your story with us. We’re so glad that you felt comforted and were able to get help during your emergency because of the LifeStation service. If I press the emergency button and tell the people at LifeStation that I need help, they would call her straight away and she only lives two streets away. I wanted it to be connected with the internet or using a signal that was not our telephone signal and LifeStation is the only one I knew about which I discovered on the web that was not using the phone. Everybody I talked to was very convenient. My mother has not used it yet but we have tested it. They have a good response and good people called her in speakerphones.
When we signed up, they mailed us a paper saying, “You have not actually filled in this paper.” After two months we got the form to fill in which should have been filled in at the beginning of the relationship. I’m doing fine with LifeStation and the only thing that I didn’t understand was I only used it in and around the house when we first got it. When I went out, I took it off and put it back on again as I got home. It only covered me inside and in the garage and they told me that it was only within around the house. On the other hand, I press the button once a month and somebody comes on and says, “Do you have an emergency?” I say, “No. I'm just testing,” and it’s reassuring that it’s working. It’s scary too when you tap and say, “Emergency,” but I feel more secure with it. If I fall, I could call for my daughter or my neighbor as long as I got it on. In the beginning when I first got the LifeStation, I used to test it and once I push the emergency button, it comes on right away. It’s sitting near the kitchen, my mom has a button near her, and thank God she hasn’t been able to use it. But it's good and comforting to have. My mom speaks Italian and I'm concerned that she has a language barrier but they reassured me that if and when she uses it, someone will come on and speak in Italian, which is great. I also recommended it to a couple of people and hopefully they took me up on it.

An ambulance came twice, and I was never so shocked when they pulled in, I didn't know what was going on. The first time, I fell in the yard and got up, and got in the car. For a little bit, there came an ambulance. Then the next time, I was getting dressed and the lady didn't come on and ask me anything, and here comes another ambulance. So, I don't wear it very much and I do not feel comfortable wearing it because I'm afraid something's going to be happening all the time. It just upsets me if I'm going to do something.
I wonder if there's a way I can push that button and make it not push it when I'm all right. At my age, I'm all right and I get along fine. I feel more secure with it but I don't like the idea of not knowing what's going to happen next. I sure don't like that all of a sudden, an ambulance is pulling up when I didn’t know it was coming. I have several serious health difficulties and I used to fall a lot that I couldn’t walk at all. I'm now confined to a wheelchair but I also live alone, so everybody thought having a medical alert was a good idea. When I was living in Hartwell, Georgia, the doctor there had me take a medical thing to the 911 emergency alert system there. They flagged my home phone so that if I call and I didn’t answer them immediately, they wouldn’t spend time trying to talk to me and they would come immediately. But I moved and now, I’m not under their system and I have LifeStation instead.
I’ve only turned LifeStation on a couple times, once to check to make sure it was working and the other time was to change my address. I didn’t have a phone number where I moved and I thought whoever I spoke to when I turn it on can fix my new address. But she then gave me a number and I’m in the process of calling 900 people about my new address. Also, I've charged the device two times and it beeped for quite some time that I thought I was in serious trouble and I almost turned it off. Then somebody called my name on it. Still, I'm trying to set the device up and I hope that it won't be an issue and they’re aware that if they call my name and I don’t answer, they don’t spend time to keep trying to call my name then just call 911.

The team of LifeStation was very good because anytime I did have an incident where the alarm went off, they were there for me. I heard the person calling so I went and answered it. They told me that it had gone off and I hadn't realized it. So it must have been something inadvertently that I pressed against and didn’t know. I appreciated the attention, they were very nice about it and didn’t chastise me in any way. And the response time was fine, it took about a minute. The only thing that bothered me was the dangling. My mother had the LifeStation medical alert device for two years when she was still alive, and my mother-in-law has one too. My mother had the alert device mainly because she had a medical condition where the fluid would build up around her heart, and that would happen fast. So, she had to have one of those devices so she could push the emergency help button in case she couldn’t get to the phone. Also, she was living alone and needed the device for risk of falling. Later on, she was determined blind since she couldn’t see anything out of one eye and her vision there was blurry, although her other eye was okay, and she'd forget to turn the stove off, so she had a helper come in to take care of her.
My mother used to wear the alert device around her neck and she slept with it. Since using the LifeStation device, my mother had less worry because she knew that she had a way to reach out and get help quickly. My brother and sister who live close to her had used the device a couple of times when fluid collected quickly around her heart and shut her air down, and she had to be rushed to the hospital. The LifeStation medical alert device worked fine and it was a comfort having it.

He knows other people that have them because of all these elderly people out in the community and he's very much wanting us to have it. The battery has gone bad a couple of times and the company sent out another battery. Our pastor usually comes down and changes it over. And when I was the one who changed the battery I talked to their rep because the device automatically came on and they said, "Are you okay?"
My husband was changing his clothes and he dropped his device while I was in the basement canning chicken. And then he said, "Hey this is on up here." So I ran upstairs and the lady on the LifeStation said, "Are you all okay?" I said, "Yes." And I didn't know he'd even dropped it. He came out holding it and then he said, "I just have dropped this there on the floor." Their rep answered it almost as soon as he dropped it and before I even got upstairs to know what was going on. I'm a retired RN and I could call 911 real fast but that was quicker than I could get even up here on the telephone and I can't be with him every minute.

I was dissatisfied with that. So as far as I’m concerned, it’s useless and I don’t like it bouncing on my chest. Also, the little booklet that they send out with it should be a more specific on all the things it does. The booklet was almost useless. It said to charge the device for four hours and it only works for 36 hours, that's why I charge it every night while I was in bed. Although it's right next to my bed, I could have reached over and punched it. But I can get the same benefit out of cellphone. I have the subconscious thought that I have LifeStation in case I fall and it's there when I need it.

My mom fell a couple of times. She's going to be 87 this year and she's always by herself. I talked to a bunch of different medical alert brands and LifeStation seems to know their product the best, and they didn't try to upsell me. The one rep who I talked to said, "Look, I'm a customer. I use this stuff. And then I came to work for them." And that was a good endorsement. Their team then got us all set up. We were not tied into any particular length of contract, so if we should find somebody else, we have the ability to say, "Okay, we don't need it now" and ship it back to them. It is just fantastic.
LifeStation shipped the equipment to me and I took it to my mother's house. I had it installed and running in about five minutes. And then we tested the button. My mom also inadvertently tested it one day because she bumped the trigger button against something and the LifeStation team got right back to us in a very good response time. My mom has always been independent. But having the LifeStation made me a little more at peace because I know that if something happens, we’ll be able to get help since neither my brother nor I live extremely close to her. We’re very happy with LifeStation and I’d recommend them to a friend.

We are two old people together with problems. My husband, Ken, has some medical problems and was falling quite a bit and I would not know that he had fallen. LifeStation started on him when the doctor recommended having a life alert since we live out in the country with a whole lot of land. We've had one with the home health care people and it was a great help because I also have a heart condition. It was important for us to have a system that would alert someone that something was going on. Our kids live out of town. Every once in a while, Ken claims he's going to discontinue it and my kids and I would tell him, “No, you’re not.” I think we have a life alert system that we're going to have until we're no longer here anymore. My mom and dad had one and I know how important they are.
The button went off a couple of times. Ken took it off to take a shower and he didn't even know it fell. LifeStation called and I wondered, "What's going on?". I came to find out that he had taken his clothes off and threw the clothes where the alert was and knocked it off on the floor. It automatically went off. Another time, we needed LifeStation and the police were here at my house and I didn’t even know if the alert had gone off. Even though we live out in the country, we have a volunteer fire department out here. It worked. I have recommended LifeStation to a couple of ladies at my church.

She had some surgeries done and we thought she was getting to that point where she's going to live on the farm by herself. We needed to have an alert system that might help. I used the other medical alert system, Bay Medical, quite a bit as I was having a bad time and I kept falling. I didn't have any problems with it but the last couple of times that I fell, they didn't respond because I couldn't push the button. And so I wasn't too happy with the response which was nothing. So now, I just make sure that I'm not going to do anything around my stomach or chest area. I feel confident because I can hide it under my shirt and if I probably had put a wrist on, then I probably would have hit it more often than what I've done already and one-time is too much. The person who always answers it is very courteous, does a good job and asks “Are you all right?” However, I hate that it sets off many times but I just count it as a month's test. It’s easy to use and I thought that I would have to call in each time I get ready to test it, but I found out I don't have to do that. The lady told me, "Oh, you don't have to call us each time." You just go ahead and do it and they automatically get your test. Also, we get the kind of service we need on it so it's definitely a plus to have it. It's very reasonable for the amount of money I pay a month. I checked on others and I feel that I'm given just as good a service on this on the times that it has gone off, but others are more expensive. When you're a retiree and on a fixed income, anything that you get at cheaper prices is always going to be better. But so far, it's a very good service.

I was afraid of falling down and passing out so I made the decision to get a medical alert device. I have two LifeStation devices. I use it everywhere I go. I have one for the house and one for mobile. I’ve used it once and the LifeStation team has been very good, responsive, and quick as well. I can now go on long walks and I'm not afraid.
Irving, we’re so glad that having the LifeStation system has enabled you to live your life independently and without fear of falling. It is our goal to help people continue doing the things they love, such as going for long walks, with the security of knowing help is available to them should they need it.

I had my daughter contact LifeStation and they shipped my device out to me because I have been falling and I live alone. It's a great feeling to know that at least I have it. It's great to know that if I need it, it would be available for me. I've had two experiences where I used the button and didn't realize it. I use the bracelet and I was opening a can and I must have hit it. All of a sudden, I heard these voices behind me and it was a boo-boo. I try not to let that happen but at least I know it works. I would recommend LifeStation to a friend.
Delores, thank you for taking the time to write a review and we appreciate your recommendation of our service to others. At LifeStation we understand that accidental button presses happen, so our Customer Service Experts are always happy to check to see if you’re okay, both during an emergency or a false alarm.

LifeStation provides me the confidence that if I fall or have any accident, they will send the help to give CPR and then take me to the nearest hospital. So, that’s very comforting to me. However, it is cumbersome and I don’t like it, but my wife keeps monitoring me whether I'm wearing it or not. She heard from somewhere that uses a medical alert device and was convinced that it will be helpful if she is not home and they will take care of me. I always wear the device, but I don’t think it's very useful.

Our experience with LifeStation has not been top-notch. I have two units and the one for my wife malfunctioned. Mine malfunctioned too about four weeks ago. I spoke to one girl and she was helpful. She sent me a new unit out. Even though they sent it by express mail, it still took three days. But at that time, I had doubts in my mind - if it fails, it wouldn't charge, then it wouldn't work. What if it happens when I needed it? I can't blame the company. It's just that I have to have a system that's more solid. They've been in business a long time and it's a case where they've brought me to a point that I got to make a change. It’s supposed to be lifesaving and should not have malfunctions like that. It could be one time in a million, but it happened to us. I'm going to call them this week and ask them to cancel the system. I’m disappointed with them.
Thank you, William for your feedback. As discussed, please insure that the device is charged properly before using; be sure to allow at least 4 hours of charging. Make you sure you are testing your device at least once a month. We are glad we were able to speak with you and had a chance to address your concern. We look forward to continued, monitoring of service. - James

I'm 87 years old and I live alone. I have arthritis and use a walker and a cane, and it's getting harder to get around. I have diabetes too. So, I decided that I needed a medical alert device. I got one from LifeStation and I’ve been very happy with it so far. I've only called them once for service, but they came and were very nice, and they took care of my problem. The response service that I got was very good and quick. I told them I did not want to go to the hospital, so they didn’t make me. Everything was all right with the alert service and it made my daughter feel better.
Joyce, we’re so glad you’re enjoying the LifeStation service and that the Operators were able to help you with what you asked when you needed to press your button. We’re proud to have a fast response time and excellent customer service, so we appreciate your review.

I got the LifeStation for my mom. She lives up in New York and I live down in Florida. She feels more comfortable knowing that in case of emergencies, she'll just push a button and someone will help and they answer within seconds or minute every time. She also uses it once a month to test it. However, my mom speaks a little more Spanish, and LifeStation didn't have anybody that speaks Spanish. But otherwise, they're great and they did whatever they promised.

I have fallen a few times, mostly at my yard and at the time I had those falls, I did not have any assistance. Fortunately, I did not hurt myself. But, I'll be 76 in December and I live alone, so I just wanted that extra security. However, my funds are limited and so I went with LifeStation because I had mail handler's insurance coverage and they were offering them for a lot less. I'm thankful that I have not had to use the LifeStation for an emergency, but I've done the monthly routine checks with it. However, it's not something that I can speak to from the outside. So, if I were to fall outside and needed assistance and I pushed the button, there's nobody available inside to answer the machine. Other than that, I'm satisfied with LifeStation and I would recommend it.
Thank you, Judith for your feedback. We are glad we were able to speak with you and had a chance to address your concern. As discussed, if your unit is activated and you are unable to respond to it, we will still be able to get help for you. We look forward to continued, monitoring of service. – James

I had fallen a couple of times and I can't get on my knees to get myself up. One day, I fell outside and couldn't get up. Nobody was home and all I could do was scoot myself on my butt to my back porch. I thought I could raise myself up by pulling up on a chair and get in the house. But by the time I scooted across, I didn't have enough energy to get on the porch even though it's only about four or five inches, so I sat there and hollered for help. Finally, the people who live near me came out and asked what was wrong. I explained that I can't get up and they called the paramedics for me. They came and picked me up and I got in the house. So, I got a LifeStation, My daughter ordered it and she pays for it. I have one that goes around my neck and I'm more confident in the house.
A long time ago, they couldn’t hear me talking with the one in the house. Afterwards, I told LifeStation and got the one that goes outside. I keep it in my purse when I go off and the rep told me I couldn't use it inside the house. We have a big dog and if he gets rambunctious, I put my thing on. Otherwise, I could manage to get to the one on the counter. I also have one that's like a cellphone. The other day I bumped the device for some reason and it came on emergency, and then somebody came and asked if I was okay. They are very quick to answer and they've been very nice every time I've ever talked to them.
Ida, we understand how scary it is to fall and not be able to get back up. At LifeStation, it is our goal to ease your worries about having another fall, and give you the confidence of knowing that if you do have an emergency, help is available to you. My mother had been in a car accident and a medical alert device was recommended upon her discharge from rehab. LifeStation was excellent. I spoke with their rep during set up and I told him what I needed. The guy answered all my questions and everything was fine. It's my mom’s first medical alert device and she doesn’t complain about wearing it. LifeStation also offers a sense of security and this allowed my mother to do other activities. Our experience with LifeStation was fine. We know it's there if she needs it.

I will soon become 91 and I live alone so having the LifeStation is a good idea should I fall or something. It gives me some measure of safety. I'm glad I haven't had to use it but I know it's there if I need it. All I've ever done is to check in with them if the device was working and they were professional when I called in. But I don't like the necklace. I cannot figure out how to link and shorten it but it's not a serious thing. When somebody comes and I think of it I'll have them figure it out. Also my son comes and sets it so it will stay where I want it to stay. I'm comfortable having LifeStation.

The LifeStation rep lives in the same place as I do but I don’t see her every day. She told me what to do with the device. I’m 94 years old and my walking isn’t that great. I live in a studio apartment in a senior citizen’s area. I play bingo on Thursday nights and go to church on Sundays. Also, my neighbor takes me shopping every other week. I take the medical alert device with me when I go away someplace. I could recommend LifeStation to friends.

LifeStation is excellent. My balance is off and I'm afraid I'll fall but since I started using LifeStation and knowing I have it on, the security is there. However, I wish I had the satellite version. Our version is home line so I can’t go to my daughters in another county or go out in the yard without somebody being with me because I'll fall. If I'd gone with the tower, at least I would be covered in her house.

My mother had several falls and she was laying on the ground for eight hours so it prompted us to get LifeStation. We pushed the button a couple of times and they were very polite, courteous, calm and they responded very quickly. Also, when she pushes the button they say, "Mrs. Francis, how can we help you? Are you having an emergency?" They get the job done and she definitely feels more secure having it. They provide the service that is needed that makes us feel more comfortable and at ease with our mother being home and I think that's priceless.

LifeStation’s been good except for yesterday. I was out shopping and I got a call from my neighbors who are on my list asking if I’m okay. They got a text that I didn’t answer my med alert thing. Then they got a text saying that the weekly test failed. I’m only supposed to test it once a month. So why are they getting text messages? And when it’s an emergency, it would have been a phone call. I pressed the button and the LifeStation team got online and said that they haven’t done anything and everything was showing fine. Other than that, it’s been great. I've called LifeStation a few times. I had fallen enough to where I hit the button and they were on the line immediately and got me help.
I was glad my nephew made me promise to get this medical alert device. I worry about being alone, and this definitely makes me more confident. Before this, I had ordered one from Mobile Alert but it just wasn’t what I wanted. It was big and clunky and I don’t want to carry that around. I called LifeStation and I changed to the wristband and got the GPS one which I need to wear around my neck. But I fixed it so that I can put it on a clasp and hook it on to my belt loop because of a neck problem, so I can’t have that weight and it works fine.
Everybody from LifeStation that has responded to my cry for help has been top of the line and it can’t get much better than that. The thrill of it all was that the ambulance came and that was my first time ever in an ambulance. All those guys were young, good looking and they were all so sweet and kind. They were, “Do you need anything to take?” I said my purse and they found my purse. They also said, “We need to put something on your feet.” And I told them what drawer to look in to get me some socks. “What else?” My phone because it’s got my credit card in it. So he went in there and he looked. Overall, I would highly rate LifeStation and I have told people they need to get this.

He was always setting the button off and they would always call us at least once a week to see if dad needed help. Since then, he has used the wristband and we haven't had any incidences with that.

My parents have been prone to a lot of falls because of their age. We had a house alarm with the medical alert necklaces from Monitronics but my parents didn't want to wear the necklaces so they collected dust. We only went the old way and dialed 911. We switched to LifeStation because they offered the bracelet instead of a necklace and my parents were willing to wear the thing on their wrist. The LifeStation team was very polite and thorough. There were a couple of times where it took longer than I would have hoped for them to come on the intercom but it might have been me because it's an emergency.
Since getting LifeStation, I'm less worried because I'm a call away. So it helps. And my parents must be more comforted that they can press the button and get someone quickly. We've used the emergency button a dozen times already since we got it. The police and the ambulance usually get here pretty quickly. LifeStation has a very reasonable price and Lifeline was very expensive but they had mentioned that they would have a database with my parents' profiles including their names and notes that they had a stroke and can't speak. And LifeStation doesn't have that. It's an issue because if my dad presses a button, he can't speak to tell them what's wrong. But they send somebody anyway so that's good. If they don't hear anything and they call me and if I'm too far away, they just send the ambulance. So, it's working.
LifeStation has been great for us. I'm the one who gets the calls. I had left town for a week and then switched it for my sister to be called. And I thought I called and switched it back but the next time we used it, they called her first. So, I need to straighten that out. But otherwise, LifeStation saves lives. And overall, our experience with them has been excellent.
