I'm 91 years old and my children didn't want me to stay by myself after I came home from an accident and so I got a LifeStation medical alert device. If I set it off by mistake, their team has been fine.

I'm 95-year-old with Parkinson's Disease and I have a terrible time getting around. Every once in a while I goof up, and my son and my daughter told me to get the LifeStation. Their customer service is wonderful. I close every gap when I go to bed at night. And there was one time when I had everything locked then I went to the back door that goes off into the garage but the minute I opened the door, the alarm started ringing. The people from LifeStation asked if I was okay. They would have gotten a hold of someone but I was fine. Three policemen came out as well. LifeStation puts me at ease. I can depend on those people because they're so good. Everybody's nice and I'm really happy with them.

I’m totally satisfied with LifeStation. And living alone, I feel more secure having it. When I test my device, the LifeStation team has been very nice. It takes about five rings for them to answer, but at least I feel if I have to use it, I’ll be connected to them. I would recommend LifeStation to anybody who would need any device like it.
We’re so glad you’re happy with the LifeStation system, Rita! Thanks for the review!

I'm 89 years old and I’ve had the LifeStation for at least three years now. I put it on my wrist when I first got it, but I didn't like that because it was so obvious and everybody asked what it is. I also didn't like the black cord around my neck. That was embarrassing to wear since everybody could see it and people were curious about it. So, I got a chain to put around my neck so that the button stays right by my chest and I can use it anytime. I wear it all the time even in the shower, and I'm happy with it. I accidentally got the button pushed one time and somebody responded right away asking if I needed help. When somebody is looking for life alert instruments, I always tell them about mine and that it's good. I also tell them why I don't wear the cord around my neck. I have a friend that is looking for a life alert and I've told her about the LifeStation. She had seen it advertised but everything looks so big on paper, so I showed her mine and she liked it.

I have been using my LifeStation for a couple of years which my daughter got for me and it's doing okay. I used it one time. I had a noise and I didn't know what it was and I’ve seen a thing prancing around. So I called LifeStation. They answered and were friendly, and it took them a few minutes to come out. They called me back and told me they didn’t see anything. They said that it could have been a deer. LifeStation is a good thing to have. I use it and I recommend it.

My LifeStation is working okay and I feel good about it. It made me feel more secure since I was living alone and others have decided that I should have some help. But I had a lot of trouble within the last month with the machine. Somebody was alerting me with sentences through the middle of the night three times. I didn’t understand the first two, But the third one was the battery. So, the upshot of that was that they sent me a new LifeStation and I have to send the old one back. I already did. Other than that, I feel that they don’t answer quick enough if I press the button. I usually have to wait a while and the only reason I’m pushing it is to report a difficulty, not with myself but with the phone and the little lights would go on the power light and there are several little lights. Still, though, I’m satisfied with it.

My daughter said I needed a medical alert device after I had a light stroke in 2007. I got the LifeStation and I wear it every day through the week when I’m here by myself. It’s pretty comfortable and it's working but I haven't had to use it. I've recommended it to my cousin in Baltimore and I told her that she needed it because she had fallen one night, couldn’t get up, and had to stay down until the next day when someone came in.

I had a heart seizure and was in the hospital and somebody brought a LifeStation out and put it in my house. I felt safer with it in and my analyst could get here quicker. It was nice to know that I had it in case I had something that happened and it worked. The reps were not bad when I tested the button too. They called me and I talked to them. I knew everybody. It just took a little bit to get here, probably less than five minutes. That would be a good time since they were a little away from me. But somebody came and got my LifeStation necklace. My husband and I are getting old and he couldn’t help me get up so we decided that the LifeStation would be good for us to have. I have fallen a few times and used it. They were very responsive and when I asked how many times the fire department had been out here, they said they don’t count and that it doesn’t matter. I wear the device as a necklace but I find it high on my neck so I try to use something, like put it under like a collar. With it, I feel more independent when I’m in the house to some extent. But I wish that I could have something outside the house like when I’m at the grocery store.

One time I got really dizzy that I fell on the floor and I couldn't get to my phone. My son told me that I needed to have a LifeStation and since he purchased one for me, it has become the most important thing in my house. I don't know where I'd be without it. If I'm here where the main unit is, I depend on the button. But when I'm in the other room and taking a shower, I use the bracelet. It makes me feel secure at night when I go to bed because all I have to do is just move my finger and press the button on the bracelet.
Last month, I had a stroke and if it hadn't been for LifeStation, I don't know what I would have done because I couldn't get to my phone and I wouldn't have been able to report on it. My son was already there at the hospital by the time I got there because LifeStation had called him. And I told him to call them and tell how much I appreciated them. The gentleman from LifeStation stayed on the line with me and talked to me until help came through the door. He was so kind, compassionate and reassuring. I can't be grateful enough.

I just turned 87 and I have had knee and hip replacements. I was falling and I’ve already dislocated my left hip about 11 times, so my daughter got the LifeStation device for me and my son paid for it. I’ve had different devices that have the same function as the LifeStation I have, except that they have necklaces. I didn’t get a necklace because it would get on my nerves, so I got a bracelet where I could wear the device on my wrist. I’ve had the LifeStation for a while, and it has been fine. If I need it, I just press it and the girls from the LifeStation team would come.
I’ve used it a couple of times not long ago because I went and fell twice. I fell once in my bedroom and I hit my head on the windowsill, and then after that, I had a huge bruise, on the top of my head, all the way down to my eye. But when the bruise was almost gone, I fell again. Recently, I was cleaning my bathtub and I was using something to rinse it out, and somehow, I slipped and fell, facing the tub. When I called the LifeStation team here, my backside was in the bathtub and my legs were over the thing that I used for rinsing. I didn’t know how I ever got to turn around and ended like that, and when they saw me, they had to laugh. I was laughing too because it was really comical to look at. The girl picked me up and they asked me if I needed to go to the hospital, and I said I was okay, although the bruise I had from this fall was all the way down to my chin.

My mom is 96 and she lives alone. I was looking for a monitoring system that I don't have to have a contract with. I researched a few of them and unfortunately, some of them you entered into a contract and still had to pay for it even if the person you bought it for died. I called LifeStation a few times and I had absolutely no problems. I remind her to test the buttons regularly. The response time is immediate and it's nice because it starts off low. It's audible though, and it gets louder and louder for when it's an emergency. There was one time where they contacted her because the battery on her necklace was low. They knew about it and they immediately sent another battery. However, if my mom leaves the house, she's not covered. Other than that, she also has a lockbox on her doorknob with the house key in it and it's a touch-tone pad, which is great because this way, nobody has to break down the door when you're in an emergency.

We've had LifeStation for a few years now. My husband's unsteady on his feet and I didn't like leaving him alone without anything to call for help with. He's 93 and can get a medical alert device for free, but if something happens they just call the ambulance right away. We did not want that. We want to be able to communicate with him. If he had fallen he can say if he's fine or call me or our daughter. Sometimes he'd take a little stumble, but he'd be fine and we didn’t want the ambulance to rush in and take him to the hospital. Also, if he were to need some help while I was out doing an errand or I'm the basement and couldn't hear him, he could call his son or me on my cell phone.
He's comfortable with the LifeStation. He likes that he has a choice to call his family who would assess the situation and if need be, have him go to the hospital. There are less expensive options out there and we've been approached by two others. However, we like what we have. It's been very satisfactory, so we are keeping it.
Betty, it’s great that your husband enjoys having the LifeStation service! You’re right, one of the benefits of LifeStation is having the ability to call family members before EMS to make sure he is okay and assess the situation. My mother moved in with me a few years back and we got a medical alert device for her as we were concerned for her safety. We have it at home and I went from a manual dial-up to a cellular, so I can transfer it when she moves. She goes down south with my sister for a couple of months a year so I upgraded on that. Everything is fine and we check it once a month to see how it is. Everybody on their team has been nice. However, the main thing is that it doesn’t cover if she’s out on the road since she still goes out and drives. So I looked at a possible cell phone that has some of those kinds of things. The device is just for home and it doesn’t go beyond that, so due to that, I'm thinking of canceling their service. But other than that, the device is fine.
She has the alert device around her neck and it’s like a piece of jewelry for her. I’ve pressed it once by accident as I was moving and hit a button. I've had LifeStation for a while and I really hadn’t had any problems with it. I've used it once when I was sick and on my way back from the bathroom I tripped and hurt my toes. Then there was another time, I was three blocks away from the hospital and they charged me $800 for the ambulance. Their response time and the service has been good. Pushing the button and talking to them has been fun, except yesterday when I was really disappointed. I pushed the button on my belt to check it. I do it every so often, but nobody came on. They came on after a while and it wasn’t like it usually is. They usually ask you something, but they didn’t this time.
They called me and they told me that they were having a problem and I needed a new one. We unplugged the old one and definitely plugged in a new one. I get a little bit disappointed sometimes because I don’t go out much, but if I did go out, it doesn’t work. It only works in the house. I have asked about having one outside the house and they told me that I'd have to purchase a separate piece. It was $10.95 extra month. I was disappointed in that and I turned it back in. I kept thinking it’s just a hassle when I have it. The box is on my nightstand and sometimes I get scared because, while the house is not extremely big, if I'm on the first floor I don’t even hear the telephone a lot of times. If I'm on the first floor and I push the button, I wonder all the time if they hear it up on the second floor.

But I feel comfortable and a little of sense of security knowing I have LifeStation. It's exceptionally easy to use and all I have to do is push the button. I accidentally pushed it and the reps arrived at my door. I didn't realize that I was outdoors working, but they were prompt and very nice.

We’ve had our LifeStation for three years and the experience has been a good one so far. The communications I’ve had with them had been good and any concerns I've had were resolved. I had some difficulty in getting my wife to wear either the necklace type or the watch. She had basic dementia and right now, we had to place her in a senior care facility so the LifeStation is just here, but I’m going to start using it. It’s going to be meaningful for me around here. I wear it on my wrist. It’s a little bulky, but it’s convenient and it gives us a sense of security. It's expensive at $71 a month though and I’m not so sure that it’s worth it. I've thought about exploring the alternatives.
Warren, we’re happy to hear that you’re happy! We are glad we were able to speak with you and clear up the pricing on your account. We were shocked to hear that you were paying $71/mo. especially since our prices are no more than $1.00/a day. We appreciate your loyalty for the past 3 years. My experience with LifeStation was fine. They were very dependable and their reps were wonderful. Sometimes, I would just trip a little bit and they came on right away. I felt very secure. It just saved my life. Before I got it, I used to find myself on the ground. My doctor sent me to ear, nose, and throat specialist and they found nothing wrong with me. I just trip very easily. I didn't even realize that I'm on the ground. However, they still charged me $39. When I got the bill, I was surprised because I had already joined this other company so I called LifeStation to ask why. They said that the payment was late coming in. They explained that it was my fault and they wouldn't excuse it. I didn't want to argue with them so I agreed to make the payment but I can't afford it. I offered to pay them a small amount 'til I pay it off. They sent me a box to put all the equipment in, to mail back to them and I did that.

I’m very happy with LifeStation. I’m 82 years old and my wife works every day. Sometimes, she goes on trips for up to two weeks and it was not a good thing for me to be here by myself at my age. I have never used it for an emergency but I check it every month. I punch it and talk to somebody and they would ask me how I am and I would tell them that I’m doing fine and the machine’s working. It sits on my desk and doesn’t bother me which is a good thing. It’s a comfort to know it’s there and that if I need it, I can use it. When I call and talk to people, they’re pleasant and friendly and seem concerned about my welfare and that’s important. I’d give LifeStation an A-plus. It’s terrific and I would tell the others they ought to have one if they’re over 65.

I’m getting older and have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. I also have a lot of problems with falls, so I needed to have the LifeStation device so that if I did fall and the boys aren’t around then it will call 911. My balance is very poor, so I have to be careful. So far, the medical alert device has been fine. My problem is testing it once a month as I don’t do that as often as I should. Every once in a while I’ll do it to show somebody who’s here and I’ll show him how loud it is and it would scare anybody as far as I’m concerned. I live out in a country and I live alone, my family is close by, but at night I keep my push button on my chest. It’s handy right there to push the button and right away there are lots of noise. And then I get someone asking me if I'm all right which is great. They said that they would call my sons who are about 7,200 yards away from the house before they’d call 911, so I have a good experience with them.
When I tested the device, the interactions I have with the LifeStation team were great. They are always so upbeat and interested. They always ask me if I'm all right and I tell them that I'm okay and just trying the device out. If I show it to somebody, they were always impressed by the loud noise and who is calling in right away. I would recommend others who are living alone that they need to get a LifeStation alert device.
Shirley, it’s great that you’ve been trying to test your system more. You’re right, the loud emergency notification that comes on when you press your button can be a good deterrent for burglars. It’s great that you can use your LifeStation system to contact your family and let them know you need help in case of a fall or to contact emergency services. Thank you for the review.

I have recommended LifeStation to people. I’m very satisfied with it. They answer right away when the emergency thing goes off. When I call to test it, they let me know that they received my test. A couple of years ago, I accidentally pushed the button. I stepped out of the shower and I stepped on my bracelet. So the alarm went off and the next thing I knew, somebody was hollering asking me if I needed an ambulance. A fireman was also staring over my kitchen. I fall all the time and just knowing that my LifeStation device is there gives me more peace of mind. Everything’s good. The only problem I have is if my phone doesn’t work, the device doesn’t work, too. And I have my cable through a cable company and my phone is through that also, so the device has to go through that. It would be better if they could come up with something that doesn’t have to go through that.

Then if I fall, I can pull it out and reach for it. Mine just works around the house and a little way outside, which is fine because I have to walk with a walker so I can't get anywhere anymore. I had problems falling and I fell on the basement stairs. My brother-in-law kept telling me about getting a Lifeline so I finally called and got the LifeStation. It has saved my life so many times. I had to call the Lifeline team at least 15 times, but they've been great. Two years ago, I had a lung infection and was left with 40% lung function. I was in the hospital, and whenever I tried to take the shower, I could not breathe. That year, I called them at least five times because I was in the hospital for more than a week five times.
Last Tuesday, I called them because my blood pressure was really high so I took the medication my doctor told me to take when it’s really high. It dropped it so low and I passed out. When I passed out, I had strength enough to push the Lifeline because my legs didn’t work. I crawled on my arms to the kitchen, made it to the refrigerator and couldn’t go anymore. I called Lifeline and someone else called the fire department. Lifeline came on right away and they called my sister and my brother. The ambulance was here right away, and the fire department was here too. Lifeline has been great.
Most of the time, I get a lady and she asks me if I’m okay or “what’s the problem” or “do you need help”. This last time, I couldn’t even answer her so she called my sister and my brother and the ambulance. They’re very caring and most of the time they tell me, “We’re going to stay on the line with you until help gets there.” They were great even when I test the machine and I’ve never been sorry I got it. I don’t think I’d be alive if I didn’t have this because there have been so many times when I couldn’t breathe. LifeStation gets the ambulance here before I even know it. They have been fantastic.
I know if something happens, if I have my mind together, I can push that button, but can't if I pass out. Without that, I’d be dead. I was so glad my brother-in-law kept harping me about it. It’s only been a really good thing. They are the most caring, effective people on earth. They make you feel like somebody is there and they’re going to get you help as soon as possible without fail every single time. They also stay on the phone right with me even when there had been times I can’t talk because I can’t breathe. All the teams there are life savers. I recommended them to lots of people, and they have never failed, not one time.

My LifeStation has been pushed a couple of times mistakenly but one time I had to use it and thank God, I had it. The people that answered were very friendly. Luckily, I was close enough to the main thing that I could talk to them. That’s the only problem I have with this is that unless I'm in my house or somewhere very close, I can't communicate with them. It's a base and it's in one spot in my living room. I've fallen a couple of times but there's a certain range that you've got on this and even if I fell outside, I wouldn't be able to tell them what was going on.
I got in my car one time and I leaned against it and it pushed the button, which is right outside. I live in a mobile home and it's right in the carport. They notified my daughter and when they gotten in touch with me, I told them, "No, I didn't push it." Them notifying my daughter is nice. The device definitely makes me feel more secure. I have a sister that lived by herself and I've been trying to get her to get one because one time she fell outside. Some feral cats ran in front of her and she fell and she broke both of her ankles. She had to crawl to a phone.
I told her, "When you live by yourself like that, you need to have some way you can get in touch with somebody." She says, "Well, I've got a cellphone." I know I don't carry my cellphone all the time. I wear the device around my neck and I'm so used to it now. My daughter pays for this and it's an added expense for $10 more a month. I can get one that I can take with me, even when I go shopping and I would love to have that but I don't want her to have to pay more money for it.

We felt it was important for my mother to have access when she needs help, especially with her age and health. She got LifeStation since we couldn’t always be there and if something happens at night, it’s good for me to know that the system is there and it’s working really well. There had been few instances where she needed to use it and she feels a little more confident and secure knowing that the alert is there. She had a couple of instances where the team came to the house and she didn’t even know if the button was pushed. The response had been fantastic and every time she had any issues, LifeStation team dealt with it. She had been using the phone and she put it down, then that went off. They came on right away and usually ask her if she needed any help. It’s just not knowing why it’s going off. But generally when it does, they don’t send help right away but they try to find out if she needs the help.
There was one night that the alert went off in the middle of the night and nobody knew why. The old button that was still in the house caused part of the problem and we relocated it to a different room and the alert started working better. When she changed her phone system, we also had to change and make the phone the home station. I’m happy that my mother has the alert and I’d definitely recommend LifeStation to anybody that has the need.

Then, my chest and stomach were in great pain that I didn't know what was happening. So, I thought I'd better get help to make sure it wasn't a heart attack. It took a few minutes before the help came and LifeStation answered. I didn't know if it was LifeStation that didn't work as fast or it was the other because I called the ambulance before or 911.
I opened the door before I knew they'd be here so the door was unlocked. When the fire department got here with the ambulance, they were talking outside and there were a lot of people. They knocked and I said, “I’m here”. She said they’re the fire department and it was the third time she knocked. Told her the door was unlocked. When she got in, she said, “I didn’t hear you with the vehicles running and all those people out there.” Both of them irritated me and neither one them I liked. They shouldn’t expect the person who is having a heart attack get up and meet them at the door. If she wasn’t talking to about six people here then they might have been able to respond for help. I was a nervous wreck thinking what is happening to me but once she got in, they were okay. I usually call 911 instead of LifeStation since I thought they would be faster.

We have Kaiser Insurance and LifeStation has cut a deal with Kaiser, so we get a slightly reduced fee. Since my husband’s stroke, he was unstable. He used to be able to get up and move around and I wasn't here. I was concerned about him falling. For a long time, he wore a chain. Now he is not quite so mobile anymore so I use the LifeStation as a protection for myself. In case something happens to me, he can push the button or hopefully I can push the button.
For a house of our size with two floors, I was very impressed by how well the system picked up my voice when I was up on the second floor in the back of the house. Also, the LifeStation team is very professional. Every time we test it, they’re on the line quickly. They’re polite, they ask the right questions, and they’ve been extremely helpful. I’ve never been frustrated by customer service like I have with other companies. I’ve been very pleased with it overall. They’re everything that I would want in an emergency alert system.
Peg, thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We’re happy to work with Kaiser to provide special pricing to their members, and it’s great that you’ve found our service helpful for your husband. We’re glad you were impressed with the range and ability of our system, and hope that LifeStation can continue to provide you with greater peace of mind.

My sons insisted on me having LifeStation. Everything has been fine but the people at LifeStation probably are upset with me because once a week, I should be checking out the equipment but I don't. It’s in another bedroom and I just check to make sure the green light’s on. But I’ve done testing before and they’ve called in to see if everything was all right. I pay $35 a month and it’s been fine for what it’s supposed to do. But I would rather get one that had the GPS on it because this just takes care of me in the upstairs room. If I go down the steps, they can’t hear me. Other than that, I’m satisfied for what it was and I have what I knew I was getting.

My mother is using a LifeStation device and it's been a positive experience. Any questions we had, their team answered. They were very knowledgeable, helpful and they knew what they were talking about. We had a little problem a while ago where the battery was low. The device gave us plenty of advanced warning that the battery was going low so that we could call LifeStation and reorder it. It was just perfect. I asked the rep how it worked as it had been a long time since we took the battery out. They rattled it all off and all my information was correct. I felt really good about it and they tested it out.
Once my mom realized too that she could use the LifeStation if there was an intruder in the house, it worked just as well. If she heard something funny outside, she could say so to the LifeStation rep and they could get a hold of me or the police. My mom wears the device like a necklace and she never mentioned it being a nuisance. And anybody can use the LifeStation and I wish I had a LifeStation too. If there was an intruder and I can’t call on my telephone, I can push that little button instead. I would recommend LifeStation to a friend.
Thank you for your Feedback, Debra. We’re so glad you found our customer service staff to be knowledgeable and helpful, as we work hard to provide a great customer service experience to our customers. I live alone primarily and I was afraid nobody would know where I was if I fell and could not move. The LifeStation device would be handy for me to have so that I could reach out to somebody if I were conscious enough to call. When I was at work, a friend had mentioned about her mother testing her medical alert device every month, which I never heard of. That got me really worried so I immediately went home, tested the device, and the test went well. They might have told me about the testing but it could be better if it was on the machine itself and that they had given instructions how to do it.
Also, there was one point when I woke up in the middle of the night hearing a voice say that the battery is low. I knew it was the LifeStation device and I couldn’t shut it up so I called LifeStation. It was so frustrating. I have a general hook up with the television and I was afraid to start pulling things out, not knowing what I was going to take apart, so I called them back and they sent me two new ones. They corrected the issue right away.

The LifeStation device makes me feel comfortable because of the amount of pain that I'm going through with my legs. However, the LifeStation is too expensive. I had the band one, and now I feel like I need the one with the neck bracelet which they said was going to be another $78 a month. At almost $30 a month, I think that's kind of high for something that I don't use, so I wanted to cancel it at one time. I would recommend LifeStation if they can lower the price. People should have it if they’re in bad shape.

My kids live in Oklahoma City and Denver. My daughter-in-law was always worried about me and she saw that I needed a medical alert in case I fall. I fell once and I couldn’t call anybody then because my cellphone slid. Finally, after an hour or so, I can reach enough and got a little pressure on and moved it a little bit. And then I got it and I got up. I wasn’t hurt or anything. But the next thing I knew, she got the LifeStation for me. I feel a lot better that I have it. I called them once and it worked. And their reps were very good.
Time has passed and I get weaker every day because I’ve been diagnosed that I got CA of the lung. I don’t even drive my car anymore and I've given it up. That’s how bad I am. So, I’m proud I’ve got the LifeStation unit. I can wear it in the shower since it says the unit can get wet but I just hang it on a little knob there. Where I hang it, if I fall in the bathtub, even with the shower, I have it right there within five inches and I can get to it. So, I feel a lot more secure that way.
Dorothy, it’s good that your daughter-in-law got you the LifeStation system after you had your fall. LifeStation is a great system for those who have ongoing medical problems and may need emergency help. Thank you so much for the review.

The elderly that uses the device is 90 years old and she lives alone. She's very independent, mentally, but she has Parkinson’s and her walk is not that great. She trips sometimes so the LifeStation device was something I wanted her to have. The LifeStation team have been very helpful and they do everything. When I’ve called to test the unit, they were right there.
She fell once, and the response was good. She pressed the button and they got in touch with her. I got a call but I did not answer my phone since at the time, I didn’t have it on my phone as LifeStation. It came up as an 800 number, and with all these spam number calls we were getting recently, I didn’t pick it up. A few minutes later, my daughter was able to get in touch with me, as LifeStation called the other people on the list to let them know what happened. When she fell, she broke her nose but still, she was able to push the button and help did come. They said they were bringing her to the hospital.
Since using LifeStation, it gave me a peace of mind. I still worry that if she falls, she would knock herself out and can’t push the button. But she wears it all the time so it helps to know she’s got that and it also helps her to know that she has it. She’s using the necklace because she didn’t like the one on the wrist. It was too bulky that when she puts on her shirt, the device would be caught on to the shirt. LifeStation is very valuable and the experiences we've had with it were very good. It's her Christmas gift every year and I’m pleased that she has it.
Vita, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us! We’re so glad that the LifeStation system has been able to help you and your loved ones, and it’s great that you saved our phone number in your contact list! We agree, LifeStation makes for a great Christmas gift!

But my doctor straightened me out and I've been doing pretty good that's why I haven’t used it lately, but I liked it very much. My son and my daughter-in-law thought it would be better to have a medical alert device in the house as they are both working. I’m alone all day and all night and I’m 82. I know I got something to push in case I fall. During emergencies, they came and got me taken care of right away. When they call, they get right ahold of my son and my daughter-in-law. The only thing I wish is that it would be good for me when I’m outside, but it doesn’t work when I’m in the store. Overall, I couldn’t ask for anything better. My mother is 97 and has dementia and we don’t want her to fall and not know it, so the LifeStation is very helpful. My sister came home once from Maryland, and I had to run out paying the bills. Our mother accidentally fell as soon as my sister came to the house and she couldn’t get the telephone working. She hit the button and the LifeStation team was there. Also, if the device’s plug has come unplugged from the wall, the LifeStation team is on it immediately. If it’s not beeping, they’re going to call me. They tell me “Hey, your system ain't working, what’s wrong?” They check it and if it’s not working, they’re on it. That has only happened about twice, and we plug it back up. If it’s blinking, we know it is working. Then they call back if it’s back on signal. I just love it and I’m thankful we were able to get it, and it has come in handy. As long as I see this thing beeping, I know it’s working and I know my team is on it.

Though they sent me a new one, I can't put it on. The white thing is awful, it doesn't fit on my skinny little wrist. And I wanted the black stretchy anyway. The team who helped me replace the bracelet were fine. The representative told me I could not have a black one though unless I upgraded. My experience with LifeStation has not been all that great. On at least three separate occasions, my beeper went off and they told me I had done it somehow when I couldn’t have set it off. I could have done accidentally, but I didn’t do all of them. I contended that my button was defective and they fought me over that. They were going to charge me money for it and I said I would not pay it because it wasn’t my fault. After a month of haggling back and forth, they decided to just send me a new one that was working. It was a very, very upsetting time for me. All that time, I was working with what I was sure was not a well working unit, and I hated having to fight with somebody over the whole issue. My impression was that they feel that they didn’t have time to deal with me and they were too busy.
Six weeks ago my doorbell rang and it was the police, and they said that they had received a call that there was a problem at my residence but there wasn’t any. I did not hear my machine go off and I had been in the telephone. None of my children who are on the list of people to call if I cannot be reached were called. I was not pleased with the customer service that I received, the quality of their equipment, and its coverage because all it covers is in my house. I’m seriously thinking of changing.

My cell phone was in the dining room in my purse and my phone was on the nightstand which I was too far away from. I was in the middle of the floor and I had phones all over the house but not one I could reach, and that's when I realized why people have life alert device. I decided too then that I needed a bracelet since I couldn't wear something around my neck because I have arthritis in the spine and that would bother me.
Then, the lady from the church got the first device for me and it really bothered me but I kept it for a while. Then LifeStation sent an advertisement for a plan in the mail and it was cheaper and was supposed to work anywhere I am like the grocery store or the parking lot. The other device didn’t, so I took it. However, I was disappointed when I found out that it wouldn’t work except around the home. I misunderstood the rep apparently and had the same coverage. The only problem I have is getting my 95-year-old mother to use it. My dad passed away so, it's just her. Since she's had her LifeStation, we have peace of mind now without a doubt. Every day I go up there and remind her, ”Ma, if you fall, just press the button. They’ll call me within 5 or 10 minutes. I’m not far." Fortunately, she hasn't had a bad fall and my sister's around when she gives her shower. But, sometimes she gets up in the middle of the night and does it herself. The device works excellently. In fact, I tested it about three weeks ago and it was working fine. The only problem I had is none of the wristbands that they sent me was fitting my mother. It was very loose. But they sent me one that worked so everything is fine.

My husband was falling a lot because of his Parkinson’s. When I first got the device, he was alone. Now, he cannot be left alone. People at Lifestation were very knowledgeable and kind. We had to get a new device set up because the battery in the old one was dying, and they were very pleasant. They sent us a new unit. When we hooked it up, we called them up, and they walked us through everything. They were just very helpful. They call every time the buttons go off accidentally. They came immediately when we needed them and I'm very comfortable with the fact that he has it, and if I needed a medical alert during the middle of the night there is a sense of calmness that I know that I could press the button, and somebody will come. They're a very good company, and I'm very happy with them.

LifeStation then called me but I did not get the call right away, so I called them right back and they told me what was going on. Then, I got over there and everything was fine. The LifeStation team talked to us, got the address and they sent somebody. The rescue came pretty quick. Before I had the LifeStation, I fell down and ended up being in the house all day until somebody could come and get me up because I couldn't get up. Now, I don't worry about who I could call to help me and I feel comfortable with it. I'm contented and satisfied with it. I have it for a little over three years now and everybody I've dealt with has been great. They're also very pleasant and so far, I've needed their help two times. The persons who initially came on the device asked if I was okay and were concerned. The first time they called a friend who was able to come over and get me up, then the second time, they called the EMT to help me. My son and his wife knew a lady that fell. She had a stroke and when they found her the next day, she was in a really bad condition. So they said I better get something and that’s what I did. I have the LifeStation and my experience with it has been okay. But it takes three or four minutes before anybody will answer. If I had a real emergency where I was laying on the floor and couldn't move, then I call them and nobody answers, I'm sure I'm going to start to panic. That's a long time to be on the floor and it's hard. Also, every so often, my phone will go dead and the LifeStation will light up green. When I called them about it, their rep said that they were testing the lines. They do that about once a month and I don’t like that very much.
But the other day, I was out across the street to my neighbors and we were chatting out there visiting. I had the thing in my pocket and even down there, I must have hit it because they called. My son was in San Diego and they called him saying they couldn’t get hold me. They asked if I was okay so, he called home. I had come home at time and I told him I was okay. He said I better call LifeStation because they’re going to send an ambulance. So, I caught them in time.
When I first got the LifeStation, I recommended it to a friend and she got one, too. I also thought it was cheaper when I bought it but now, it’s more expensive than the others. I have the one that works around the house and I'm interested in a gadget that I could take along with me to the mall. I work in my garden which is over 100 feet from my house, and you never know what might happen when you’re out in your garden.

I was falling a lot and I live by myself. I tried to carry my phone with me and I realized there's no way I can carry that phone with me all the time so I started looking and saw LifeStation. I never take my device off. I placed it on a regular stainless steel chain because the cord was just too flimsy. And I've had it on a chain now since right after I got it. I wear it in the shower and to bed. My neighbor has one and she takes hers off and I feel that’s defeating the purpose to take it off. I'm very satisfied. LifeStation is wonderful. I haven't had to use it very much but when I did use it, it was Johnny-on-the-spot. They would answer and be courteous on what was wrong. It’s a whole lot cheaper than falling. Not being able to get up with nobody to help is my biggest fear.

Also, if there is a problem, the police department is supposed to be involved and I pay extra for that without knowing it. If I don’t pay extra, they don’t come and nobody will help me. One time there was an attempt to come in here and the police were called, but it was a mix-up and it shouldn’t have happened. We can’t get to our dad as quick as we would want to if there’s an emergency. So we decided, the best thing to do is to get a LifeStation for him. In the beginning, he wasn’t wearing it, which defeats the purpose of it. But now, he utilizes it and knows it’s important, so he appreciates it. And I think he feels secure. But we might switch because he want something that would still work even when he’s out shopping or doing something else. But when he used the button, they responded quickly, which was great. And the couple of times I’ve contacted LifeStation, I have not had any issues. They have been very responsive. My experience has been happy. The limitation of proximity, that would be the only negative. And I don’t know if it’s something they have any control over at this point. But overall, what we purchased was satisfactory.

I’m old and my knees were bad. I have a lot of dogs that I foster and sometimes they get rambunctious and cause me to have a misstep. I was afraid that I would have a problem and would need to have help, and that was how I figured I’d have LifeStation. Plus one of my best friends said I had to get one, so I did. Recently this past week, I discovered that after surgery, I have a blood clot in my leg. I was told if I have symptoms of it moving, I should immediately call 911 which I would do but I would also use LifeStation. I don’t test it as often as I should, but everybody's been really good.
When my dog jumps in my lap, sometimes she sets it off so I know now to take and pull it up and sling it over my shoulder so she does not activate it. Once, somehow it got activated and LifeStation already started sending somebody out here, and I called them in time and they didn’t come, thankfully. And a couple of times, I’ve had the battery go bad and they sent me another one immediately, so that worked out all right.
Martha, it’s so great that you foster dogs, and we’re very happy to hear that you’ve found LifeStation to be helpful in case of a fall. I’ve had people come tom my place asking me if I’m okay. They’ve also called my daughter. Another time, I was running my vacuum cleaner at 11 pm, when my daughter called me asking if I was okay. A police officer also came to make sure I was okay. There was also one time when it was a fireman that came to the door. They’ve been very nice when I obviously did something to set it off, or when I called to check to make sure that it’s working. I’m happy knowing that it works, and I feel good having it knowing that if somebody breaks in, I’ll just push my button and hope that scares them away.

My wife has trouble getting down and prior to that when she could walk around there was nobody there but her and I had to be at work so getting a medical alert device was as secure as she can be, that she didn’t have to try to dial a number and to just press the button. They would call me first if she didn’t answer and then I would make the decision to go ahead and call 911.
But at the rate the ambulance charges like one time they came out it was $1,200 dollars, you don’t want them to roll unless you’re sure that there’s something they have to roll for because they're going to bill you regardless if it’s an actual call or a non-emergency. And I got the door lock that goes with it and they have got the code to give to 911 when they arrive. That’s just if I can’t get to the key.
Whenever I’ve done a test with the LifeStation device they come on and then they reset it and I have no issues. They call me direct on this phone and then I make the decision whether we should call an ambulance or 911, unless there’s no response. Right now I have somebody staying with my wife but the device is still there because it’s easier than trying to look up a phone number for 911. And they also contact 911 real quick. It’s kind of a safe and it's a good protection for like $25 something a month. I would recommend LifeStation because I’ve had no bad experience.

And it normally takes them quite a while to answer sometimes. I think that it should be someone that’s right there when I call but it’s not that way. I have to wait sometimes and that’s what I find wrong with it. Maybe to them it’s not a long wait time but to me it’s a long wait time. If I call during an emergency and they would take two or three minutes to answer me then I don’t think that’s a good system. But their reps seem to be cordial and polite. I’ve seen LifeStation advertised and I thought it was a good one. I'm satisfied with it and everything is fine.
Thanks for the review, Mariam!

With LifeStation, my kids and I have less worries knowing that somebody can help me if they are gone from home and I couldn’t call them. I put it down in my shirt and it doesn’t bother me. I put it on when I get up and I take it off when I go to bed. It has been a good thing and I recommend it to anybody. Any time I called to verify, everything was all right. They were real nice in answering me and talking to me. I’ve had to call one time and LifeStation responded quickly.

I’m a diabetic and when I lived in Washington, D.C., I went into a diabetic coma and it kind of shook me up. There’s also been a couple of times where I’m feeling lousy and feeling something’s wrong, so I drink milk or orange juice right away to try to snap me out of it. I have the LifeStation and it works good in the house. I tested it one time and got an answer right away. So it does what it's intended for. But if I go outside and be 50 feet away from the residence, it won't work. I’d like to get the device that will work regardless of where I'm at and if I need it, I can press the button and they’ll know where I am.

I was having a lot of falls. I got somebody during the day for two hours then my family comes in when they can. But there's still a period when I'm alone. I can take care of myself pretty good but I have peripheral neuropathy and it affects my legs and feet. So I got a LifeStation. When I got it a couple of years ago, it didn't work out here because I stayed in a subdivision outside the city of Memphis. So it just stayed in the box for about a year.
Then finally, somebody called and asked me why I was not using it. I told them it didn't work so they said they were going to send some kind of a receiver or booster that would make it work. But I never received that. Another year went by and they sent another box with another LifeStation so I didn't open it and sent it back to them. I also sent them back the first box they gave me. So I returned two boxes to them but I never received that amp or the receiver to make the device work out in this area. So I didn't use it and I told my nurse to make sure that I'm not getting charged for it. I connected the first one but it never worked so I unconnected it and put it back in the box.
So when they send the boxes out, they should look at the areas that they're sending them to to make sure that they work. And if it's a rural area or a subdivision out there outside the city limits, they should go ahead and send a booster with it. They can always send the booster back if they don't need it. They need to stop putting the device into boxes, too. Also, when I called them about my issue, their reps were nice but they were insistent that I had another box. They should have put a tracker on the unit then go to the post office and see where it's at.

I'm 86 years old and I had been by myself for four years before my daughter moved in. So my family is happy that I've got LifeStation. I fell one time and at that point I did not have the feature on my device that if I pass out it would be detected. And I thought I did when I bought it. I called them and then they added it. LifeStation has been very good when I have problems bumping it and I set it off a lot. When it goes off they’re always there. I would recommend it.
Thank you for sharing your review with us, Pearl. We’re glad the LifeStation system was able to help you when you fell, and that our Customer Service Experts could help set you up with our Fall Detection service.

I’m 96 years old and I live alone so I figured I needed something so I got a LifeStation medical alert and I've been using it for about two years now. They sent me a new one a couple of months ago and it’s a much smaller box, which is very nice and much better. LifeStation is very good and when I did call, they were very helpful.

My kids bought the LifeStation for me because I fell outside in the winter time on black ice. I couldn’t get up because I have two artificial knees and it took me about 35 minutes to scoot on my butt into my house, plus I had to go through a puddle of water. And the next thing I knew, this came in the mail. I only checked it about three times in the three years that I’ve had it. I pushed the button and said that I wanted to see if it was working and they responded that it was. My grandson hooks it up for me when I get a new one and I thought I was getting one every year. First I had the watch and after the first anniversary, I got a new necklace. Then I got a necklace again. But I haven’t gotten another this year and I know my kids are going to pay for it now.
As long as they pay for it, I’ll wear it all the time and I hope it works if I ever need it. The only thing is it doesn’t go far enough like the one that's shown on TV where they get you in the middle of nowhere. With my LifeStation, I have to be within 250 feet from my unit and that doesn’t do much good. I wish I would’ve had that one where it goes out farther, where I can be out of my house or be on vacation.
Thank you, Marilyn for your feedback. We are glad we were able to speak with you. Be sure to give us a call when you are ready to upgrade to our Mobile GPS device. We look forward to continue monitoring of service. –Alex

LifeStation responds when I call them, and they seem to be helpful. We don’t utilize the LifeStation very well though. She has a wrist watch type of thing but she doesn’t do it.

Once in a while my granddaughter would accidentally push it. And they don't call right away. The last time, they didn't have this number as the primary number. They were supposed to switch it. This device is for my husband who has diabetes. He has four-way bypass, has neuropathy, has a lot of medical issues and he'll go into spills where he might fall everyday for a week. And though it may not happen for a while I had to retire to be there with him because we just didn't trust him alone and we we still kept it. He knows if I'm not there he has the necklace to push on. We're really comfortable with it. I'm also tempted to get my mom and dad one in West Virginia. They're in their 80's.
Thank you for your feedback Bonnie, we appreciate your review. We’re glad that you’ve enjoyed having the LifeStation service and that it could help your husband when he falls.
