Because my husband was in assisted living, I was by myself. When my daughter had seen LifeFone on TV, she got it for me. I’ve used it at least three times. When I'm home or when I take a shower that could be dangerous, I always leave it on. The only thing is when I leave home, it doesn't do any good to take it along. When I go shopping or go to the hospital, I just leave it. But I'm home most of the time now. Also, I have the wrist-type and it irritates my skin. I think it would be worth it if I used the one around the neck, but that would be difficult and I don't want to carry one. Anyway, I have recommended it to several people.

My husband passed away two years now and I'm alone. I've also been seemly to fall a lot so my children said I have to have this LifeFone and I had used them twice. I fell in the kitchen, made a turn and broke my hip. They responded quickly and took care of me. They were helping me and by the time I got on the ambulance, the guy gave me something. The fall wasn’t that bad and their response was very good. Then I had also fallen in my living room. I tripped on the rug and fractured my wrist. Again, they came right away, put something on me, took me to the hospital and took care of me there.

I'm glad I have LifeFone because of those two experiences. Knowing that they helped me before, how good and nice they were and they are, I most certainly depend on it. I even wear it in the shower. Once I knew they were here and taking care of me I didn't worry about anything other than the pain and went to the hospital. I most definitely would recommend it. I also tell my friends around with the same ages to get one and how it has helped me.

We heard about LifeFone and the price seemed okay. We tried it and it's been comforting. Fallen a couple of times, needed to use it, and LifeFone reacted right away. We also check on it every once in a while to test it. Sometimes when the light flickers out and the battery goes down low, they call to check on us too. One time, it kept saying that the battery was low and I didn't know how that works but it seems to be working okay. They have also replaced the pendant but it wasn't working right and they had us test it. Other than that, everything has been good and I would recommend it to a friend.

My mom lives alone in a large house and we only have one family member who is living close to her. A medical alert system was something I pushed for her for years and she finally gave in and let me do it. We had very good information on five different companies but LifeFone seemed to provide everything that we required for the best price. Besides, family talks to her on the phone a lot too. Since then, we've had very little interactions with the LifeFone team. Mom hasn't had any issues since she was on the system. She did have it unplugged for a little bit that they had to contact us once. But besides that, everything has been well. I just feel better with it and I'm happy with the service. She feels safer too and is very happy with LifeFone.

My mom has had LifeFone for a couple of years now, just in case she falls or can't get the phone as she's older. It used to be Life Alert, but LifeFone has a better price and the service is identical. However, I had one bad experience recently, where I got a call from someone explaining that their monitor's saying that my mom's alarm was taken off and she didn't respond. I'm in North Carolina and she's in New York, and they called the wrong number for my sisters. Also, there were precious minutes that were lost in the confusion. Then when I called back to complain about it, they told me that the guy had just come out of training, so obviously, he wasn't trained well enough to handle the phone on his own, and that made me very uncomfortable. I felt they were unreliable.

The people at LifeFone were helpful. I had no problems and it’s been good so far. My mother is 89 years old and has trouble hearing and in case she fell or something, at least she would be able to reach somebody. We were in the middle of moving so we switched to LifeFone from another service. Also, I read about how hard it was to cancel the previous medical alert device we had and some people didn’t get their money back. I personally got on the train and took the phone from New Jersey to their headquarters in New York to make sure they got everything back and verify that I gave it to them so that everything is actually cancelled because I’ve read stories where they kept charging after that.

I see the purpose of LifeFone as being my spouse or companion when I don't have a real one. Someone who will "watch my back" as the saying goes. At 81 yo and although I'm healthy as a hog, I could keel over with a stroke at any time, or fall and hurt myself badly while walking the dog. LifeFone should be able to detect those kind of events, but it doesn't fully.

LifeFone cannot tell when I'm in distress unless my voice in pendant triggers a distress signal. I can do it by pushing the button or my fall detection can do it... Maybe. And there's the weakness that gives LifeFone only three of five stars. If I have a stroke and go weak in the legs while walking the dog, I am likely to sort of fold up and drop down on the road and not actually fall. And not actually fall... That's important as there would be no impact force to trigger the voice in pendant to send a fallen person signal back to the monitors. So the LifeFone monitors would not know I had gone down in the street.

I could be left there for hours perhaps as there is very little traffic on the street where I walk the dog and live. I confirmed this by a conversation with LifeFone Customer Service. LifeFone has GPS capability but they do not continually track the pendants. They use the GPS only to "ping" the device to locate the person but if and only if they first receive a distress signal.

LifeFone is so very close to being the ideal companion one needs when lacking a real person as a companion. If they tracked the GPS positions, say, once every ten minutes or so, they would be able to see that a pendant wearing has gone static, has not moved for ten minutes or so. And that could be the trigger needed for the monitors to check in with "are you OK." And failing to get a response, begin the rescue phase of the LifeFone program.

Overall the LifeFone system was easy to install and implement. In fact I use it at two residences as I have a vacation home. And the VIP w/Fall Detection is small and unobtrusive for carrying around when outside. And the extra pendant is even smaller for wearing inside around the house. I am satisfied for what it does. LifeFone is the best of the competition, ADT and others fall well short of the ideal companion stand-in such a device has to be if it's doing the job properly. So I recommend LifeFone, but only with the voice and fall detection options.

LifeFone had an ‘away from home’ feature which was one of the things I liked. Once in a while though we forget to take that thing with the device that we're supposed to take when we go away. It's a little hassle remembering to do that. During the few times I’ve had contact with LifeFone team, everybody was very nice, polite and understanding especially during the times I pushed the button by mistake. And their response time in those instances was quick. However, I may have a problem with my main unit. The last time we used the device, the remote gadget worked. But I didn't get any sound from the one on the wall. I only got the connection with the little adaptive thing. Other than that, it's been a good experience with Lifefone and I've recommended it to friends.

We probably don’t test it as often as we should but it’s worked very well for her when she’s needed it. The people at LifeFone call me when my aunt uses her button and they've been very polite and helpful. I used to deliver for a pharmacy at night and a couple of times, about 2:00 in the morning, I've got a call and they're really patient and they wait 'til I get over here.

But a while back, my aunt hit her button a couple of times at night and the lady told her to take her button off and put it up. That lasted about a week and I had her put her button back on because that’s the reason we have it. If she accidentally hits it, that’s just part of the program. Somebody at the place should not be telling her to take her button off because they don’t wanna be bothered. I talked to somebody about that and I hope we took care of that problem. Other than that, it’s been very well and she can hear it through the house even with her bedroom door shut.

LifeFone has been helpful. But, I would like to reverse the order of who gets called first. Their people has been very polite and nice. The issue is the person I was talking to couldn't hear me when I needed them. That was too bad. Every time I could hear her talk, I punch my button so she'd know that I heard her. She couldn't hear me talk so I moved the unit upstairs, central hall. On another occasion, it would have been better if I have my friend as a first contact instead of the police and medics because they wanted to break down my door and it really caused damage. If he'd be called first, he could have gotten in the house and let them in.

Falling is my main concern. The first time I used LifeFone, it was because I fell out of bed. Their customer service was very good and courteous. They did everything right. I feel like I hit the button accidentally but it seems to go off twice. I was close enough that I could clear it and they called to make sure I'm all right, so that's good. All in all, it was very satisfactory. I would recommend it to a friend. But, one caveat would be that there might be a better system where you could wear something on your wrist that has a speaker in it. The box doesn't hear you if you're far away from it. Supposedly, it covers signals up to 1,100 feet but it couldn't pick up my voice.

I’m a fall risk but I’m very active and what I liked was you could take LifeFone with you anywhere. That was the main thing that sold me on it. I also researched all the top companies and I felt like they were the best fit for me. I’ve had all false alarms but they’re always very prompt to answer and very professional. They treat me extremely well. I also had a low battery and I didn’t know it. They sent me a new alert necklace with a battery that wasn’t low. They do things like that without you even knowing there’s an issue. LifeFone is something that I didn’t want to get, but now I’m very satisfied and it’s great for me. It’s been a very positive experience dealing with them.

I had just gotten out of the hospital with a stroke. And so, I've been relying on the system that we have because I never know when I might need help again. That prompted me to purchase a LifeFone. Now, I feel more comfortable having the LifeFone because if something should happen while I am not at home, then I know that I can be helped wherever I may be. Moreover, I like that LifeFone calls my daughters to let them know that I am having a problem.

LifeFone was my son's idea. He thought I’d fall and no one can help me so we bought one. However, I don’t really think I need it. It’s just there and it’s heavy to hang around my neck. Sometimes, when I turn over in bed it goes on and there were two times that I didn’t know it went on. They had to call me and I couldn’t hear the phone because I was in the shower. So, the squad came to see what was wrong. I didn’t need them then but they came and they were very, very nice. So far, I’m satisfied with the way they have answered me when I don’t even know it’s been pressed. They’re good and it’s nice for people that need it. Overall, it’s worth a try. I just wish I didn’t have to wear it.

At times when I bumped the device by mistake, the people at LifeFone were very good at it. They say that it's okay and then clear it. One thing I like is the portable, as well as the in-home for the same price. I have had a few different devices before and the first one was ADT. I can't remember the others. I think they were a little higher priced. We're all to save a buck because we can't afford to spend it. So, I finally wound up with LifeFone and so far, I'm satisfied and happy with it.

It’s there as a safeguard. It’s supposed to be a life-saving device. All I do is just to try to keep from losing it and it would be fine. I have three pieces of equipment. I have the cradle, the mobile device, and I have the pendant around my neck. All three of them seem to work just fine. The pendant seems to send a signal every now and then without a good reason. I don’t know what the different buttons mean. If it goes off and I know that all I’ve done is touched it, then I don’t know how to reset it.

I wasn't really interested in LifeFone but my children chose it for me because of the features on it. I have accidentally hit it about 10 times when I first got it and I don't understand why it went off when I didn't touch it. But there was one occasion that even when I tried to tell them over the phone that it was just a test, they still came to the house when it wasn't necessary. I had four people knocking on my door and I thought the house was on fire. Also, they didn't know how to open the lockbox. When I first got it, I couldn't open it either because I was opening it from around the handle and that's not so. It has to be opened by pulling down the black cover. I reported it when that happened and I told the people that I called that they didn't know how to get into the lockbox.

Furthermore, I got the wrist band and I noticed after wearing it for a certain length of time that I was getting some pin prick sensations around my wrist so I stopped wearing it. And after that, it was fine so I don't wear it anymore. I don't know if it's the feature or mechanism on its back but evidently, I was very sensitive to it. Thank goodness I've never had to use my LifeFone yet, but I'd rather have it and don't need it than need it and not have it.

My son spent a Saturday on the internet looking at all of them and the best turned out to be LifeFone, so he got it for me. He meant well and did all these when I was in the hospital. I wish he waited until I got home but he probably figured that I would say no and I appreciate that. I wear it but I have not had to use it. I have three sons and I get scolded by one of them sometimes. In fact, he went to the point of making a note in large print and put it by the back door, "Mom, if you're going out take the other part with you in your pocket or your purse and don't leave that at home. Take it with you."

I had these reminders all over the place because what happened to me was kind of a freaky thing. I've never had a fall in my life, but apparently, some medical thing made that happened. The doctor investigated anything it possibly could have been. So I had to wear a heart monitor for 30 days and it did not show anything like a fall in blood pressure. And they said, "Well, I guess we have to just say it was the heat that did it, nothing medical." And I know that they were all concerned that there's a possibility I could fall again.

LifeFone gives a better sense of security. You’re alone in the house but you're really not because your help is right there if you need it. There's nothing worse than having a fall. If there was somebody else here, I guess they wouldn't have done that. I'll soon be 88 but I'm still very active. But I'm alone and I do work out in the yard. In fact, that's probably one of the reasons I fell because I was out there in the heat.

One time I was getting dressed and when my finger accidentally activated that button, the service is instantaneous. A rep was right there as if she'd been standing next to me. I know that the response is very, very quick. And I apologized to them and they said, "That's all right. It happens all the time." Although I am careful, I don't walk in the middle of the day when it’s 90 degrees, it’s either early in the morning or late in the afternoon. But things happen, I understand that. And they were concerned about me. If I'm going to the grocery store, I have to take the device with me and put it in its little folder and take that. I could push that button and as long as I had that base piece with me, then I could converse with somebody there.

When I am out of town, it still works but here you're limited to just a very small area and it's not all worth a damn for that because I go all over. A couple of days ago, I had the test light of my LifeFone blinking on and off and I pressed it and it took a good minute and a half before anybody answered. So, I hit the test button, and then now, my test light don’t come on at all. Also, sometimes when I’m sitting down on the couch and I have my necklace on, it’ll go off for no reason. Perhaps if it gets too close to my pacemaker because there’s nothing wrong. And then I have to hit the button real quick so they wouldn’t call me.

I wear the device around my neck. Every so often, it gets to bother me. If I’m taking a shower the magnet gets a little sticky so I try to get that off. But other than that, I’d rather have it than the wristband. I don’t like the band because it's like a watch band and they’re too big. It also gets a lot of hair and stuff like that on it sometimes. The only other thing is that if I was outside and I accidentally stumbled or fell, it would go off but I can’t speak back to tell them I’m okay and I don’t need somebody to come running to me. When I heard the beep all I said was "Testing". My daughter told me to wait until I heard a voice. I didn't know it was an actual person.

My occupational therapist told me to not remove the necklace when I take a shower since she said it's waterproof. It has the little cordless white nylon on there on purpose. So what I do is I take it off, run the towel over the cord to dry it off, then I put it back on. But I wear it all the time, even though I know I can't use it when I'm not in the house. I carry the cell phone but with the device, I feel safer that I could get a hold of somebody right away. They could call the squad. Even I wasn't expecting to get this old but LifeFone gives the feeling of security and that I'm taken care of. I've hit the button accidentally and I've been apologizing when I do because it goes off and LifeFone calls me. But they were very nice about it.

Many of us in the area I live in have had to have a button for protection because we're alone. I fell one time in the shower and my kids became very concerned that I was alone. They went online and found the LifeFone. We also got the fall one so I have the two phones, but I do not use that one because it seemed to be too sensitive in what I was doing and I figured I could get my help on a single button. With the help button, I'm a little more assured that I have help, however, it goes immediately to my daughter whether we've got a power outage or not so she immediately knows. When I spoke to who's in there, they're very polite and very business-like so they were right on the ball.

When I first got the fall button, I wore it to bed and when I turned over, all of a sudden I heard all these voices in my dining room. I wondered who could be in my dining room after midnight. Then it dawned on me that somehow I must have touched the button when I turned over. It didn't frighten me but it certainly made me alert that I couldn't turn over and wear the button to bed so I put it beside the bed. LifeFone gives me confidence that help is right there.

When I came home from rehab, they insisted that I have it in the house. I like the idea of it. It's great for a person who lives alone to be able to let people know if something happened. And for some reason, in the practice of it, I find myself backing away from it. Somehow it's stressful that it could go off at any minute without me wanting it to. That was the problem I was having. It went off four times and I panicked because I haven't learned all the ways of operating it. I talked to somebody at LifeFone over the device and they took care of everything. I managed to keep any ambulance from arriving. And then I finally took the thing off my neck and left it on the table. I have to meditate on this more, but it's not going to stay here. It leaves with the caseworker for the workmen’s comp.

Over a year ago in my kitchen, I broke my shoulder and hip on the right side. My bones are brittle and easy to break at my age. This is the first fall that I had that really scared me. Lucky my neighbor in the back’s a nurse and she has my key because she was looking after me before. My sister called her to check on me because I'm not answering the phone. I couldn't answer the phone because I couldn't move. So, my neighbor came up and called the paramedics. They took me to the hospital, I had surgery on my hip and then they took me to the nursing home for four weeks in Aliquippa.

I'm also a diabetic and sometimes the nerves in my feet tingle. But, I do a lot of walking, I don't sit too much, and I do little things but I can't do much since I'm not strong enough. I saw LifeFone advertised on TV all the time and I said, "That's me right there". So, I have my LifeFone medical alert device on my neck and I haven't taken it off since I got it. Although, it's a nuisance wearing it on the neck because when I have to bathe I always have to take it off. But it's lightweight and it's long so it's easy to take off and on. I wear it after I get done washing for my own security. With this, I'm a little bit alert. I'm more aware and more careful because it's easy to fall. My husband had a mini-stroke. I'm with him most of the time but his neurologist told him to get an alert system where he can get an emergency response, just in case. So even if he has a stroke, he'd have some coverage. If one part of his body can't function then he can still send an alert. So we shopped around, went online, read reviews for different devices and found that everything was comparable though there were some differences and with LifeFone, it was the number of years they have been in service and also the reviews. That's how we ended up with them.

We had a lovely gal who helped walk us through the setup and syncing of the product for my husband and myself and she was really helpful. Everything was easy to set up and we did several tests. My husband said that in terms of using the equipment, it has been flawless. He said that he had to get used to making sure everything was charged but once he got that part, it's been easy to use. He tends not to wear the smaller one around his neck because he can't talk to anyone then. But he said that the bigger LifeFone device has been great. He'd rather keep that one with him because he's got the feeling that he'd be awake if he pushed the button. We did a couple of tests on it where we pushed the button and they called us back. And he's so confident of it that he won’t move around without wearing it.

Also, the people that we've dealt with have all been very knowledgeable. Everyone's been very patient with our questions and have stayed on the phone with us as long as they needed to to answer our questions and meet our needs. We really appreciate that. And they thought through issues in terms of working with cardiac and stroke patients to make their equipment accessible which is the key stuff there.

Now, when I go out to run a short errand, I have more peace of mind. But where it really helped is when I want to do something for myself, like when I go to the gym and spend 2.5 hours on the machine, I don't have that feeling of tremendous guilt wherein I'm away too long and that what if something were to happen to my husband. It's not the same as my being there but it's the next best thing though so far we haven't had to use it.

I'm not the typical I fall and then I can't get up routine, but I do live alone and I am elderly. I am also going to PT to learn to get my balance better.

My representative is very good, but I did not get all of the information I was supposed to get when I received my LifeFone. There were no instructions in it as to what to do with the box for the key that's supposed to go outside. I've looked at it and I can't figure out how it's supposed to work. He was going to have somebody call me and get the information to me. I also was supposed to get a month free. It seems like LifeFone needs to improve in their follow-up.

Right after the first year, I checked it to make sure it's working. It rang quite a few times when I pressed the one that I wear around my neck. But then when I brought the other one in and pushed it, they answered on that one. I keep the GPS which I take with me when I go some place. I feel safer having all of these. We can call if anything happens." I went out the other day and had my LifeFone in my pocket book and it kept going off. When I realized that I was with my sister, I had to call them. The response time was a little delayed. I don't like that it takes them so long to answer. But when I do need them, they're very good. I saw somebody climb in my window. My husband died and my children are far away so I needed a medical alert device. They said I should have it and I thought I better do it. I'm completely satisfied with LifeFone and I think it's a wonderful thing. I can't say enough nice things about it. I once month call to make sure everything is working right and the ladies who respond to me are very nice.

I used another medical device before and LifeFone is much better. Before, all I had was the little unit that I carry when I go away from home. If I fell in the basement or anywhere, I couldn't hear them unless I had that with me. But now, I have the big unit out in my kitchen and I've got it turned loud. I can hear that anywhere. If I fall in the basement and punch the little thing I have around my neck, I could hear what they were saying and I could tell them what's wrong. I feel safer in two ways. If someone was breaking into my house, I feel that I could push that button right away and get somebody and tell them to call the police. And then, if I'm out on the road or get sick, I can push the button.

The people at LifeFone has been always friendly and helpful. But one of the things which I find a bit on the annoying side is the difficulty with which one can achieve stability with the cord. It’s uncomfortable because of the manner in which the cords are put together. It’s a fairly long and unstable platform and rather than being contently at the rear of the neck, it’s all over the place. LifeFone once had a feature which functioned. It was a cord with a magnetic capability of quickly putting together the two ends of the cord around one’s neck. That was ideal.

I’m an old lady living alone and LifeFone was my Christmas present last year from my children. I wear it every day and carry it always around with me and I've had no bad emergencies. However, they should offer an option for silver or gold fine chain so that people will think maybe I had a crucifix hanging inside my shirt rather than the black thing around the neck because the cord shows so much. For sure, women don’t like black hanging around their necks and for me, it shows on a lot of things I wear although having it around the neck is better than pinning it or carrying it someway since I could lose it. I'd recommend them and in fact, all my friends know that I have LifeFone so that’s a form of advertising.

I'm 87 and once in a while I still got problems that I fall so my kids were kind of after me to get a life alert. So when my son asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I told him I wanted the smart alert and he gave me LifeFone, which came handy. I'm glad I have it because if something does happen, I could push the button. I'm well satisfied with it and I can't complain about the people who work at LifeFone. When the alert went off they asked if they could help me or I could get somebody. However one time, I was a little disappointed because they had the ambulance and so many people come over here. They made me sit on a chair and they questioned me like I was on a court trial. All LifeFone had to do was call my neighbors across the street because I've got them on there that if something happens, they’d be the ones to come over and if they feel that I need an ambulance it's up to them to call.

I live alone and I got osteoporosis so my bones are giving out and then I fall so I used LifeFone. I have a mobile piece and the other one is in my kitchen. However, it can’t hear me when it’s in the kitchen and that's the problem. I’ve told them several times that I can’t take the device elsewhere since I have no place to put it. I tried moving it in the bathroom but there’s not enough room for it so that didn’t work for me. I also tried it in my bedroom one time but then I don’t want to have to bring it back into my living room or kitchen in the daytime. It's a big device. I can pick it up with one hand but then I’ve got to get the charger and the outlet is another problem. I test and reboot it every month but then they scare me whenever I do that as they’d call an ambulance. I asked for a new one but the problem is it’s still in a place where they can’t hear me and I can barely hear them.

I only prefer the mobile one because I can take it with me and it does fine at night. It’s been plugged in all day and I don’t take it to bed until 9:30 then I get up in the morning and put it back on the charger again. And if I’m going to the store, I make sure it’s always charged up. The information says it’s good for 30 hours but I wouldn’t trust that. Then if I was gonna spend the night with a friend, I would take the charger with me. But if I were in my room with that pendant on, I can hear them but they can’t hear me and I’m on the floor.

I called them twice in the last year and a half. I sent my information like who to call and how to get in, but then they say they don’t have it so that’s been a disaster. I had the whole world here at one time. I said that I’m okay, I’m just on the floor and I can’t get up. My head is under my side table and I see lights at my window. I don’t mind it but I live in an elderly neighborhood so I asked them to leave the sirens off as they’ll scare the hell out of everybody. They were good both times about that.

So then I quit locking the door between my garage and my house so they could get in. They stood on the ground and at that point, it looked like I’m on the second floor although I’m really not. I kept saying, “I’m here. I’m in here. Don’t go away.” But they couldn’t hear. It took them a while and I thought, “Oh, wow.” They had me send the information again. Now I don’t know if it’s there or not. They have my number but I wonder why they never call.

I know that they have a bracelet, and I had asked if I could get one but I never got that question answered. My Life Alert works through Wi-Fi and I was wondering why I can't have the one on my neck or the bracelet that no matter where I go they would find where I am, because I fall a lot when I'm not in the house and the device doesn't work unless I'm near the house. I had to call and tell them it was a mistake. They said the ambulance is on its way already, so they had to call and tell them not to come. They are very quick when the green light goes on. I push the button, they come, and they ask me my name and my daughter’s name. My only problem is that the green light goes every month. They call me and I tell them it's a test.

One day I fell down and I laid here on the floor until 7:00 in the morning until I called my good friend next door and asked him to come over to pick me up. That's when he said, "You better get LifeFone. I don't want to come over and find you dead on the floor." So far I'm satisfied with them and I'm glad I have it. The only problem I had was one time, I called in and punched it in, and then it was a day or two later that I checked with my answering service which said LifeFone called me twice. Then I called back and asked them why they didn't call EMS and the rep said they couldn't get a hold of me. I said, "I thought that's what the idea of this thing was. What would've happened if I'm laying here on the floor dead," and he said they were sorry about that.

I’m glad I got the LifeFone. I can call someone and don’t have to worry if I fall. One night, I didn’t know that the alarm went off. The weather forecast said that we could have severe storms during the night. I have one of those radio weather alerts that goes off whenever there’s a storm in the area or something in the vicinity. I was sound asleep and I heard something. My alert system for my LifeFone is in the kitchen and I was in the bedroom so I got to the hall. I still couldn’t hear it so I came all the way to the kitchen.

When I got there, I looked at my weather radio and that's not what's going off. Then I realized it was my LifeFone. It said "Emergency! Emergency!" and the rep was checking if I was okay. I said I was fine and I told my daughter that I hope they'd call my kids first before they call the fire department, the ambulance or somebody to come and check on me. If somebody comes in to my bedroom at night to see if I was alright it would scare the living daylights out of me because they know what’s the code to get in and get the key to get in here. But I'd definitely recommend them.

Everything went smoothly the few times I've had to call them, and I haven't had any problems. I've fallen several times and I needed a service like theirs to help me if I'm alone. I know that I can call them, I feel confident that they will respond, and they do. Last week, I hit the button that was around my neck by mistake, and they responded right away. I got a LifeFone since I'm very old and there's a risk of falling. Also, I don't see very well, which is something that's been occurring gradually. I'm losing my eyesight. I'm glad I have it. I haven't had an emergency where I've had to call them, but I bumped it a few times and I’ve inadvertently set it off, and the response has been very quick. As a matter of fact, I was in another room and I thought I was hearing voices, and then I realized what it was, so then I responded to it. There was a beep and then the voice came on immediately. I want that immediate response in a real emergency. I'm very satisfied with LifeFone. It's amazing how fast their response is when I set the alarm off by mistake. They're very concerned, and they make sure everything is all right before they get off. Additionally, they know my name which is always nice.

My family lives out of town and they were the ones who set up my LifeFone for me. When my husband died, my daughter and her husband talked to me about getting something. My daughter insisted because she lives in North Carolina and can't get to me immediately. I'm able to walk around and everything, but I've had too many friends of mine fall. In fact one of my friends in my apartment building who already passed away fell and broke her hip. But her neighbor was on her Lifeline and was able to go right across the hall to her.

As for me, I feel more secure that I have the device. LifeFone answers quickly as soon as I push the button. There was one time when I was in the kitchen and I realized I pushed the button. And as soon as they answered it, I told them it was a mistake and they were very wonderful about it. Fortunately I have not cared to use it for an experience of any kind. I sometimes have trouble breathing, so I'm grateful I have the device. I used to have a little phone that my husband and I carry with us, because we usually have to drive to the doctor's office. But I like my LifeFone better and I wear it all the time.

I have only the best experiences with LifeFone. I'm very satisfied with their service. I got a medical alert service because a dear friend told me that since I'm 88 years old, I should have something. I live next door to my cousin in a senior residence, and I always thought that we're in touch with one another all the time during the day and into the evening sometimes, but my friend was right that I needed something. My cousin and I both have LifeFone and we recommended them to a friend who also bought it.

I call LifeFone once a month to make sure everything is working and they're very prompt. In fact, I call to make sure that my wristlet is working, and shortly after, I had to call to make sure that the GPS part is working also, but I don't have to call them anymore. They call me. I feel like I am terrible at taking the GPS with me. I don't have it with me all the time and it's really stupid of me to be so negligent. I live in a brand new 22 million dollar senior building that doesn't have a dining room, so I have to walk outside to another building to have a meal.

I need to have that GPS with me and I am guilty of the same thing that one of my friends did when she went to a hotel. She had to leave this beautiful building and go to a hotel because we're having problems with moisture. She wears a pendant around her neck, but she didn't take it with her and she had a terrible experience. She fell off a couch. She suffered needlessly because she didn't do the right thing. The man who represents LifeFone here helped her out and he took care of it to make sure she has one. The GPS part of her operation was in another room and she couldn't get up by herself. Finally, after an hour, she had to get up which proves the point of the sale. A person needs something all the time no matter where he or she is. So, since her experience happened, I'm trying to be more cognizant, and now, the last thing I do before I go out the door is to take the GPS with me.

LifeFone is the first medical alert service that I have had. Four years ago I looked into getting a unit. I called our main medical supply place and talked to them about the system they recommend. I also talked to the hospital where I had just gotten out of after a really terrible scenario. It was something that happened to me where I could have used that alert and inquired about the system that they recommended but neither of these systems have a mobile unit. I slipped on the ice and fractured my femur and hip. I laid there for half an hour in 20 degrees. But before another tenant happened to come out, I didn't even realize I had my cellphone in my purse that I'm just unused to using it.

I started carrying my cellphone a 100% of the time. Night and day it was attached to me until a year ago when some issues came up with my health for the first time ever. I had a small stroke which affected one of my eyes and later found out that I have an irregular heartbeat. So now I take all this medicine and I feel worse than I ever felt. And because I live alone, we decided that having the alert system was a good idea. My daughters showed me various systems that she had run paperwork off the internet to show me what was available. I liked the looks of LifeFone so this is what we picked, and they arranged to get it.

Once, I had a false alarm when the mobile device was in my purse and I accidentally bumped it in the shopping cart and it went off. I was in the Walmart parking lot with a shopping cart full of stuff. And this thing in my purse was making horrible sounds. I discovered it was me. LifeFone came on and the rep was beyond thorough making sure that I was okay.

My daughter got me two pendants and one time one of them didn't test well. I called customer service about that. I also called them one time when I first got the set and the device battery charger wasn't exactly as described in the information booklet. One light kept staying on all the time. The lady I talked to didn't know the answer but researched it with somebody and was able to help me. I'm extremely happy with Lifefone. It keeps everybody's mind at ease that I've got it, especially if something happens. I also wear the pendant 100% all the time.
