We thought that LifeFone would fit me best and generally, it's been very good. Anytime I had to reach out to them, they've been excellent. I'm 81 now and I was 78 when I got it, and I was living alone. I had fainted a couple of times and it was hard to get up, so I thought I really did need something that I can use to contact somebody without having to be able to get up or get to a phone, and LifeFone definitely fits that bill. I feel more confident since having it.

I was able to call the paramedics when I was unable to walk, but for some reason, they think when they got here that their phone system somehow activated the LifeFone, because we didn't press the button and weren't aware. It didn't come on and say emergency, we didn't talk to anybody. But we were able to straighten that right out because the paramedics called here and those who came explained what was going on. I was very pleased about that because if something had happened when I had been unconscious, they would've gone ahead and did what they did. Also, if I had been here alone, they still would've made those contacts and I would've gotten help. That's an example that LifeFone would work.

I had fallen twice since Christmas. LifeFone called the ambulance and they came with the fire truck since I'm not very far from the fire station. I had to wait a little bit during the first fall because they called the phone to see why I wasn't answering after I pressed the button so there was a bit of delay. But the second time, they were here in just a few minutes. They were very professional.

I'm suffering with arthritis and have a walker that I use. My children were afraid for me because I live alone. If I wasn’t near a phone if I fell, then I would be helpless, so they insisted that I get a medical alert. LifeFone makes me feel at ease. It's helpful that I can call somebody if I do fall and it alleviates worrying about if I'm not near a phone, I at least have the button around my neck that I could use. When I needed to press the button, I got the response right away and got the help that I needed. Also, when I needed a sticker because my old sticker had peeled off with the rain, it was sent to me promptly. In fact, not only one but I think three. It's nice to have spare ones.

We use the LifeFone medical alert system because my husband is not walking, he is blind and he can’t hear so he couldn’t use the phone if in an emergency. Also, I have fallen a few times and luckily people have been here. But I figured he could push his button if I can’t. In fact, he pushed it once when he couldn’t find me. I don’t know how he responded but I guess he didn’t respond very well. So, they sent the fire department over and that was good. So far I’ve been having no complaints. I feel very safe with LifeFone and it makes me feel much more comfortable. And when I call them to do the testing, they’re very glad and they remind me to do it next month because I always forget.

I live by myself and by having it around my neck I feel more secure because if I do happen to fall like I've done before in the shower and other areas of the house, I just push the button, the fellow comes across the machine and asks of me, "Will, are you all right?" I'd say, "No, I'm on the floor." They contact the rescue here in town to come right over here and help me get up. They're very kind and considerate people. It's a remarkable experience.

So while I'm sitting on the floor, I pushed the button on my LifeFone and the rep answered quickly. She had a little trouble finding my daughter and did not stay on the line, which I don't know if they are supposed to or not. She could have assured me while I'm sitting waiting, but she was probably busy. She did come back a bit later and told me that help was on the way. Paramedics were here very quickly and I ended up in the emergency room with seven staples on the top of my head, which is all healed now.

I discovered two months ago that my LifeFone system was not working and I don’t think it had been working for a couple of years. Partly my fault because I used LifeFone once and nobody ever answered. I should've called them on the phone but I didn't. The system wasn't hooked up and LifeFone never told me. They kept billing me even though the system wasn't working which was not good. However, we finally got that all straightened out and got the system working. Then I had to use it once and it worked quite well. The response was very quick. I haven't used it since so I should test it and see if it's still working.

LifeFone is my first medical alert system and I had quite an experience with them about a month ago. I got up in the morning, didn't have my hearing aids then, and went to the bathroom. The phone rang one time and it was them calling me but I didn’t try to get to the phone since I’m disabled. The next thing was I heard them figuring out how to get in the house. My next door neighbor who was leaving to go to work came over to see what was going on and he knows where my key is on the outside so he showed them how to get in.

I was just half-dressed when I heard this voice coming down the hall. I looked up and there were four men in black uniforms and I thought, “What’s going on?” They said, “Well, we had a call from your security that you had called them.” And I said, “No, I haven’t. I’m fine.” They said, “Well, that’s good. We were just checking on you.” So I'd say they were on the ball whenever they got a call.

LifeFone has taken care of my husband. A couple of months ago, he fell and we've had response. I didn't update my information so it got a little chaotic. Thank God, my neighbors knew stuff but people from LifeFone were right here so it goes pretty fast. I'm pleased with them. We were referred to them more on the cheaper side and personable. But since he's a quadriplegic it just got to the point where we needed something in place. It was for both of us because I'm epileptic and he needs to have access if something happens to me as well. He fell in our transfers in his van, and I can't lift him so, I have to call and paramedics are there so the big boys can lift him in there. We just push the button and say, "Call them." and they come and put him in his chair. So, it's been a good thing.

Everything's been timely and I'm glad I've invested in them. I'm thinking of upgrading in March when my contract is due for the other type of phone as well but that's a little bit more money right now than I can come up with. So, I have to get prepared for it a little bit. Next month, I have to have that in place. That would be a good asset for my husband because he is driving. He can put it on the visor in the van and have that on him when he's travelling.

I've had good experience with LifeFone but I think I annoyed the devil out of them because I have a chair that rotates and the arms have some rounded things on the end of it and I keep hitting my bracelet on it, setting it off. They could improve on the style of their bracelet. I wanted to call and see if they would send me a necklace. If I'm wearing that, maybe I wouldn't set it off so much. However, they're always very kind-sounding on the phone and they never get upset that I've set it off when I didn't need to. I have already recommended them.

LifeFone has always been professional and very helpful. We got my mother-in-law the device because she was getting up there in age and because of the thought of falling, unable to get to the phone and not being found for too many days. LifeFone has the thing that goes around the neck that can be pressed if worn. She indeed had a few falls over the course of having it and couldn't get up, and LifeFone was very helpful in getting the EMTs out to help her. It put our minds at ease that while she was living alone, she can still have the freedom but with protection. We even got calls and the EMTs would usually be at her house before we could. We have recommended LifeFone to people whose parents were getting up there in age as well.

I had vertigo and had fallen so I decided to get LifeFone. If I find I don't have it on, I panic. I only feel safe when I have it on. But the only question about the device because when Good Samaritan Home Care came in as I was out of the hospital, they told me the thing I wear around my neck is not waterproof. That concerned me because I had fallen in the shower. When I called LifeFone to question about it, they said, “Oh, it is waterproof.” So I said, “Well, the aid read the stuff that came with it and said it wasn’t waterproof.” I wanted to know about that for sure.

So I got a LifeFone and it works good. They sent me the new one that will detect falls and if I'm conscious, I can call them. I'm happy with them and the device is amazing. It's super sensitive. I barely touched it and sometimes, I’ve gotten false alarms that I’ve been able to clear before they answer it. I feel safer having the device, knowing that if I fell and couldn’t get up or broke something, it would be no problem getting help.

I wasn't going to get a system and the doctor said that he thought that I should have a life alert system. And then the man from the Lancaster Volunteer Ambulance came to the senior citizen apartment complex where I live and he talked to us about LifeFone. After listening to his presentation and finding out the cost which is much cheaper than Life Alert, I decided to get the LifeFone system.

The people at LifeFone have been very helpful. I call periodically to test the system and they've been very, very nice when I call. I've used the system twice and they've been very prompt in getting the ambulance here to take me to the hospital and they've been very cooperative. There was also an incident where my phone service went out. It sent them some kind of a message and they promptly called my son and gave him a message to come and check on me. I have had LifeFone for about 10 years now. I had a spinal surgery and I told my daughter before the operation that I would like something where I can go or have in case of emergency because I also drive. She set it up for me and I like it very much. I take it with me wherever I go. The only thing is the new box that I got doesn’t say, "Emergency! Emergency!" anymore. The first time it happened, I accidentally leaned against the watch part and it went off. I didn’t know where it was coming from and I was in another room, but I got used to it over time. I particularly like the other one better because I live with my daughter. She has an apartment upstairs and she heard it a couple of times when I accidentally set it off. I was downstairs with her one time, and she heard it say "Emergency" because I was leaning and I accidentally pressed against it when I was wearing the neck part.

I just noticed sometimes, the reception is not really good because we are down by the ocean and sometimes we get power outages. Anyways, it works sufficiently so she still use it. She had to call in the middle of the night couple of times. I also noticed when we test it, they are not as prompt as I would think they will be sometimes. I don't know if it is a big thing, but when the alarm goes off, it takes two or three minutes before someone comes on the phone to ask if we're okay. They were pretty quick in responding when I first got it here. But it's pretty good overall.

You have a unique challenge, given the frequent power and landline telephone outages you experience along with intermittently weak cell phone reception. Medical alert systems all connect through on some form of telephone service, and you are having trouble with all of them.

Because of the power outages, we agree with you that our 3G Cellular system using the AT&T 3G network is your best service option, even though your cell reception is sometimes weak. The delays you may experience in getting through are likely being caused by an intermittently weak cellular signal, which will delay the call transmission.

We are glad to know that we were able to resolve your concerns. If you need anything else, please don’t hesitate to call us at 1-800-882-2280.
