I got the LifeFone for my father who is 90 years old and living alone at home. I have found them to be everything that they proposed to be. They've been really helpful and extremely professional. They are very economical for the service that they provide, and they have upheld their guarantees as far as their commitment to what they would do. When we first got it, they used to call him periodically to check in and say, "We're testing the system. Is it working? How are you doing?" They have been an excellent source of security for us in knowing that my father has an alternate means of assistance and keeps us from worrying so much. Our challenge is he's usually outside doing things. So we've had some ambulance calls that weren't necessary, but it's been a very good system and I've been pleased with it.

My sister-in-law had LifeFone years ago and she recommended it to me. The people at LifeFone are very good and they're right on the ball. They were here as soon as I called them for an ambulance. As a matter of fact, I only used them one time to go to the hospital because I had to be operated on the gall bladder. I check with them once a month and they're very nice. I’m glad I got LifeFone. They’re excellent.

My wife who was my caregiver had a massive stroke and is in a nursing home so I'm living alone. I'm 78 and I walk with a cane and a walker sometimes. My son felt that at my age I needed a medical alert in case of emergency. I have LifeFone now for about three months and all the people have been very nice. I used it one time when I had fallen. I was putting some ice cream up in the freezer then fell backwards and fell down on the floor. I was on the phone talking to them and they were working on getting somebody to me but my door was open and my next door neighbor happened to come in and helped me up. Fortunately, I didn't hurt my head or cut myself but apparently if you're hurt they send the EMT right out.

Without Lifefone, I would be afraid if I fell or was disabled in any sort that I couldn't do anything. It gives me the ability to just press my wrist and talk to someone. Their people are very lovely and reliable. Because I wear a wristband, my LifeFone is on my wrist. And a couple of times when I was getting something out of the closet or the drawer, it went off and the receiver was saying, "Emergency. Emergency." So I quickly pushed the button down and said that I inadvertently pushed it and that there was nothing wrong. They were very nice. I've had it for a long time, and I also told two of my friends and they have them also.

I've used my LifeFone four times and it has been very good. Everybody has been lovely. I'm 91 years old and they've treated me with the respect an old lady should get. They didn’t make any remarks or made me feel like, “Well, the dope’s going to be in the ambulance.” When you’ve never been in an ambulance before, you wonder what’s going to come next but it was fine. I call them every month to tell them that my machine is working. And the first time I called, I told the girl that my experience with the ambulance went great. It was very unexpected that it was going to be so nice, because you have your ideas that other people say things. So overall, I had a great experience and recommend LifeFone.

I've had LifeFone for two years. I had a need for it because I've fallen three or four times at my home. The reps wanted to know a little bit about what happened and what the condition was at the time. Unfortunately, one time the phone was plugged into the wrong plug. But that was the fault of the person who was repairing something in my kitchen area.

LifeFone is there if I do need it. I keep the bracelet on 24 hours a day so I feel secure with that. I also have it at a good location in the obvious area right at the part of my kitchen. I'm also well covered and the people at LifeFone have the names and phone numbers of my family. They go down the list if there's a need to contact them if I have any accident. The only thing I need is a reminder to test my equipment once a month because I forget to do that. I have to either leave myself a note and one time, I got a quick call from them. But if it's a space of a few months I'd appreciate if their people could give me a quick call. Also, I was in the hospital for almost three months recently. My daughter discontinued the service. Prior to that, the billing was once a month. But we were a little surprised that we had an $89 charge when it was discontinued. That was straightened out, though.

LifeFone is a good service, but there are people out there who do not have it. I met a few of them in the hospital. I had a roommate who was living alone and was recuperating from surgery. We talked about the phone system and I told her that it really enabled me to be in touch quickly several times. Unfortunately, the fee is objectionable for some people.

LifeFone has been very helpful when I fell. I've had to use it a couple of times when I couldn't get up, though through therapy I can walk and get up now. But one night, I fell out of my king size bed on my stomach. It was a nasty fall. The bed was high up and there were no lights on, and my house is old and has funny corners in it. The LifeFone team had a couple of minutes trying to find me as I was on the floor face down, but with much hollering, they found me and got me up.

Back then I was falling more times and usually, the police were here first before first aid or anybody else. My grandson is on the call list too so he gets here as well. After the police get me settled, my grandson stays for half an hour or an hour. I’ve never passed out fortunately, so there’s never been any need to go to the hospital, and I never went to the hospital because I didn't want to. I was badly bruised a couple of times, but thank heavens for LifeFone. I’m very happy with their service.

It was in one part of the house, and the base unit was in the back part of the house. She did not hear them call and go, "Hi, Nancy. This is LifeFone. Are you okay?" She didn't hear them because she was busy in another part of the house, so they called me and they also called the paramedics. My mom went to the front door, and she opened it for them. That was the reason for the recent use of the service, and it worked because they called me. They had also called EMS when they could not get her to respond. My mother kept falling and at that time, she was living alone, so we got her a LifeFone. I love it! Everybody has always been very polite, helpful and prompt to answer an alert. They’ve never failed to answer her when she has called. In fact, I like that they’re on it and not wasting any time. It’s wonderful that she has her LifeFone because when she falls and she's not hurt, they don’t send the ambulance because they can talk to her first and then call me. The situation has changed now because I’m staying here with her.

We set Lifefone up for my dad and it was easy to set up. When he had to use the button, it seems to take a while for them to actually get on the phone - at least eight minutes - and it seems more like an eternity when you're actually waiting for help to come. There is one time that the EMTs came out and assisted him and helped him get up. The pricing is really good and competitive and I prefer to pay it once a year. It's considerable savings over the other systems that are out there. That's a reason why we went for it and we also know that if we stop using it anytime during the year, they're going to refund the portion of the payment that hasn't been used.

My sister got me the LifeFone - being alone, she felt that it was wise as a Christmas gift for me. I had a couple of incidents that I'm trying to avoid happening again. I was working in the dirt one time, putting a couple of plant or pots on the picnic table to freshen up the soil. It was heavier than I thought though and the next thing I knew, I had two firemen at my house and wanna know if I was okay. They got a message that I might need help. They tried to call me but I was outside and I didn't hear the phone ring. Next thing I knew, one of my daughter-in-laws was here and it was terribly embarrassing. Nevertheless I was thankful I was okay and they were more than considerate. I didn't want to cause a lot of confusion like that, so I'm working on it, but it happened one more time.

The device is pretty comfortable to wear. My son put a special hook by the side of my bed to put it on at night because I toss and turn a lot at night and sometimes almost choke myself. I've been real happy with LifeFone so far and I promote it when people ask me about the device. In fact, I just talked to another woman at church that was interested in something like this.

When she accidentally pressed it, LifeFone answered right away and reassured her that everything's okay. The only concern was when the batteries went dead one time. We hadn't checked it and she actually needed to use it, so it was a concern for us and we were very upset. She's an elderly person and could've been wearing it for a long time with the battery being dead and we just didn't know. It may be our fault because we didn't read carefully, but there should have been a warning to alert us. We were told that we're supposed to check the battery all the time. But LifeFone sent us a new one right away.

I've had emergency two or three times. I like the LifeFone to be adjusted some way because from the moment that I press the button until there's a real voice on the other end, it's a really long time. Too long to get a response. In an emergency, you want a response as soon as possible. But they have serviced me to get me the help that I needed and they got through to my children.

In the beginning, I had the wristlet and it was very uncomfortable. I adjusted the strap by moving the prong up the holes that are in the straps and it kept slipping out. I realized that LifeFone has a choice of the velcro adjustable and I opted for that. A few times I've misplaced my wristlet and I had to get a new one. Recently, they sent me the one that I did not want and I ended up losing it. I have arthritis in my fingers and they don't move that well. It’s very hard to take the wristlet on and off, get it back on comfortably and readjust the prong all the time. I went a couple days without it and finally reported it. I told them to send me the velcro one and they did. I'm using it now, but I wish I didn't have to go through those ups and downs.

Martin, fall detection technology is designed to achieve the best possible balance between detecting falls and minimizes false alarms. While no fall detection system is yet perfect, LifeFone’s fall detection is designed to detect approximately 95% of falls. The fall detection pendant is constantly detecting your movements. This pendant contains tiny sensors that can detect changes in motion, as well as changes in the height of the pendant. These sensors are sampled up to 100 times per second, and they are monitored in real-time to detect tiny changes in motion that you may make.

This system was designed based on the study of movements and falling patterns of thousands of individuals. That said, every person is unique, and some people experience more false alarms than others. Even with the inconvenience of false alarms, fall detection could be a lifesaver by notifying us that you needed help in an emergency - even if you were to fall and lose consciousness. Should you decide to change to a non-fall detection pendant, just call us at 800 882-2280. We’re here 24/7 to assist you. There is no charge to switch. We will adjust your billing to reflect the new cost of service, and any amount you have prepaid for fall detection can be credited to your account or returned to you.

When I ordered the LifeFone, they sent the equipment out quickly and it’s been sitting on my night table for the last six years. I try it every once in a while to make sure it's operating and every time I did, it worked so I'm happy. Sometimes it takes them more than a few seconds to answer to as long as a minute. But that would be okay if I fall on the ground and break a leg or something. The only thing I don't like about LifeFone is that I could not use it if I'm away from my apartment. If I'm driving a car and have an accident, it will not do me any good. My friend got a more expensive system that she carries around with her, whereas this system is stationary here.

We thought that LifeFone would fit me best and generally, it's been very good. Anytime I had to reach out to them, they've been excellent. I'm 81 now and I was 78 when I got it, and I was living alone. I had fainted a couple of times and it was hard to get up, so I thought I really did need something that I can use to contact somebody without having to be able to get up or get to a phone, and LifeFone definitely fits that bill. I feel more confident since having it.

I was able to call the paramedics when I was unable to walk, but for some reason, they think when they got here that their phone system somehow activated the LifeFone, because we didn't press the button and weren't aware. It didn't come on and say emergency, we didn't talk to anybody. But we were able to straighten that right out because the paramedics called here and those who came explained what was going on. I was very pleased about that because if something had happened when I had been unconscious, they would've gone ahead and did what they did. Also, if I had been here alone, they still would've made those contacts and I would've gotten help. That's an example that LifeFone would work.

It's helpful that I can call somebody if I do fall and it alleviates worrying about if I'm not near a phone, I at least have the button around my neck that I could use. When I needed to press the button, I got the response right away and got the help that I needed. The phone rang one time and it was them calling me but I didn’t try to get to the phone since I’m disabled. The next thing was I heard them figuring out how to get in the house. My next door neighbor who was leaving to go to work came over to see what was going on and he knows where my key is on the outside so he showed them how to get in.

I was just half-dressed when I heard this voice coming down the hall. I looked up and there were four men in black uniforms and I thought, “What’s going on?” They said, “Well, we had a call from your security that you had called them.” And I said, “No, I haven’t. I’m fine.” They said, “Well, that’s good. We were just checking on you.” So I'd say they were on the ball whenever they got a call.

LifeFone has taken care of my husband. A couple of months ago, he fell and we've had response. I didn't update my information so it got a little chaotic. Thank God, my neighbors knew stuff but people from LifeFone were right here so it goes pretty fast. I'm pleased with them. We were referred to them more on the cheaper side and personable. But since he's a quadriplegic it just got to the point where we needed something in place. It was for both of us because I'm epileptic and he needs to have access if something happens to me as well. He fell in our transfers in his van, and I can't lift him so, I have to call and paramedics are there so the big boys can lift him in there. We just push the button and say, "Call them." and they come and put him in his chair. So, it's been a good thing.

Everything's been timely and I'm glad I've invested in them. I'm thinking of upgrading in March when my contract is due for the other type of phone as well but that's a little bit more money right now than I can come up with. So, I have to get prepared for it a little bit. Next month, I have to have that in place. That would be a good asset for my husband because he is driving. He can put it on the visor in the van and have that on him when he's travelling.
