I live alone and I fell two years ago, and my niece insisted that I get a medical alert device so I got a LifeFone. I haven't used it for any emergency. I'm on oxygen now, and I fell one time and had my device with me, and I didn't even think to use it. The phone, however, was handy so I used it. The people at LifeFone are okay. The only thing is that when I got it, I put it on my credit card for a year and they kept taking the payments out without my permission. They called me back in the summer to tell me they didn't have a record as to who to call. I then told them to take it off and that I didn't want them to be automatically taking it out. Other than that, I'm happy with them.
We thank you for your review and value you as a LifeFone customer.

My sister used LifeFone before and she recommended it to me. I've never fallen for the past three years so I’ve never used them, but the team has been conscientious and they call me periodically such as when my battery is low.

The lady next door left so I thought of having an alert for security in case that I fall. I have recommended LifeFone. I'm 102 years old and I live alone but I have peace of mind because I know I have LifeFone. The only concern is that I would like the response to be faster. I have to check in with them every month to let them know I'm alive but the response is a little slow. I would get faster service if I call 911.

My daughter thought I should have a medical alert service since I'm getting older. I had another one because one of my sisters had it but she's passed away now. I haven't used both but I keep the LifeFone with me. I call and check with them once a month, and they’re always very prompt and polite.

I’m very satisfied with LifeFone. My sons are happy that I have it and I am too. The people at LifeFone have always treated me very nicely and cordially. I had no trouble at all. I mistakenly hit the thing a couple of times when I was opening a jar, but I always told them that I was fine and they said, “That’s all right. That’s what it’s there for.” They wanted me to call them if I need someone.

I got a medical alert device because of my age and health. LifeFone was mentioned to me and I went with them. They're very good. I have a little trouble in walking. I have to use a walker, and sometimes I can't get it in my utility room, and I have to walk and hold on to things. So, I figure that if I fall, I can just smash the alert button and get some help. My daughter lives with me but she couldn't pick me up. So, it's either call the medical alert service or call 911.
I've spoken with the LifeFone guys a couple of times when I accidentally hit my alert button. I've had them out here twice. At one time, I didn't even know that I touched the alert button. I was in the bathroom taking a bath and the next thing I know, an ambulance was pulling up in the yard. So, my daughter goes out there and says, "She's okay." The cat had weighed down the alert button. Its meowing had apparently gotten into the system and they thought that I was hollering, "Help!" So, they sent somebody out. This medical alert device is not mobile. It just works in the house. I'm thankful that we're close to a fire station. But when I go out, my daughter's with me and I've got a wheelchair, so I'm okay.

I had two hip replacements. I live alone and I'm getting older. I needed LifeFone to make my life easier and my family's life more relaxed just knowing that I had some additional safety. I'm supposed to use it once a month for a drill. If I remember, I try to do it once a month, but sometimes, I could forget and then their reps go, "Is everything alright?" I would recommend LifeFone. I've never had to use it so far, but I'm sure it's a good service.

I’ve used the Lifefone at least six times. My sister had to use my LifeFone device once because I went into a diabetic coma. The operators were very nice and responded very quickly. The fire department rescue people were very good. They come very fast and take good care of me. I was very happy with that but I'm probably going to stop having LifeFone because I want the one that goes everywhere.

My husband and I are already old.I have difficulty in walking and he has problems too, so my daughter wanted us to make sure that we have LifeFone. We are happy to have it because now if we need help, it is right there. It’s always good to have it on because you’ll never know when you’re going to need it. I experienced using it a month ago when I fell. Although, I thought I couldn’t get in touch with them because I didn't hear anything on my side when I pressed the button. But it seems they heard me on their side because the ambulance came. So everything worked out very good. I’d recommend it to a friend.

My mother was living alone at the time, and she had a fall, so we wanted to make sure she would be safe. We got the LifeFone and it works out well. We have cameras in the house and I can see her from my phone. The added protection of having the LifeFone helps out a lot too in case she gets in a situation or falls while we are not here. The reps automatically call me first and there hasn’t been a problem. She’s only had one incident and that was in the middle of the night where she leaned against the device and pressed it, but we were all at home. They’ve been very cordial and helpful. All in all, our experience with LifeFone has been awesome.

My son and a very close friend of mine told me they'd feel better if I had LifeFone. It's for my safety because I live alone. I never had an emergency but once in a while, I press the button to check if the unit connects correctly, and I get a nice person at the other end every time I do that. But in an emergency, I would dial 911 which I think is faster. Nevertheless, my LifeFone device makes me happy. I have no complaints.

I live alone and I had one leg amputated. I've only got one leg in a wheelchair so I have to be very careful. That's the reason I got LifeFone 'cause I can't even go out on the deck without having something. I live with my little dog which is not even 10 pounds, so she can't do anything to help me. LifeFone has been very reliable and I've had no problem with it. This is all hooked up after and I have the pendant I carry around my neck. One time, I bent over and squeezed it and they thought I had a problem. They called me almost immediately and it was all taken care of.

I'm very happy with LifeFone. I like it a lot and I feel very secure with it. I feel like somebody is protecting me all the time. I have not used it yet and hopefully, I never have to. I’m a very active person. I have a garden and I go outside, and I have my device on my wrist, but sometimes I forget to take it with me. I always talk to friends how I feel about it. There’s nothing like it. Every older person and even the young ones should carry it when they are alone. I have fallen many times when I didn’t have it and I had to call someone. At one time, I reached the phone and another time, I couldn’t. I broke my glasses and my nose, and my daughter said it's time to get it because I was refusing to get it. If someone has the same experience, LifeFone is the best. They’re a life saver.

I figured I needed to get LifeFone when I had a heart attack and I fell down and couldn't get up. That's one of the best choices I've ever made because once you're on the floor and nobody is around to help you, you can't get up because your legs are too weak. I had a stroke and it paralyzed my left side. It has been a life saver. A telephone won't help since I'm partially blind and I can't see the numbers right. I fell a couple of times already and I pressed the button on the necklace around my neck. They responded and it took them 25 minutes to come and pick me up. The only thing is when they sent me another thing that you press, it doesn't work too good, it sometimes doesn't respond. I have the original one, but I don't how long the battery is gonna last or how long it's gonna last for me.
It's one of the most important things I have right now. My daughter had something else that was called Life Alert first and they didn’t seem to be as helpful as LifeFone were but it was so expensive. They went and charged me a lot each month for all these, so my daughter got rid of them. One time I went to the eye doctor and this girl that was working there put drops in my eyes. Then I felt like something was going to explode right in the middle of my eye, burning through the cornea. I was in excruciating pain. The device really helped me that day because the ambulance came and they took me to the hospital. You can get a service like this but not all the services are going to be as compassionate as this was.

My mother had some memory loss and heart condition. We were on the fringe of her being able to be alone in a limited part of the time. And that was just something we didn't have to worry about 'cause we knew she had her pendant on. Having LifeFone gave us fewer worries and peace of mind. Thankfully, all we needed to do were our monthly check-ins. Everyone there was very friendly in reminding us of it and it was always very positive. Then it went off a couple of times accidently. They called promptly and we never were cast out. The staff working, their dispatchers, whatever their title is, they're very professional. They were willing to help if we had any problems. I would definitely recommend them.
However, my mother is no longer alone anymore so it's really not needed. I've got the box and we have not mailed it back yet. Also, we have been having trouble with her phone system in the house. We had the phone company come out and they determined that the phone in her bedroom where the life alert was was not functioning properly. They also suspected that the life alert box itself has something wrong with it.

LifeFone is a real emergency service and they're quick and immediate. I had an emergency on St. Pat’s, March 17th and I was totally out of it and only able to press the button. The operator came out immediately and I told her to send an ambulance, use the back door, and I passed out. They immediately called my first key owner and she came here before the ambulance. She went home to call 911 and the ambulance arrived and then she had to answer why she called 911, which was funny. So the ambulance took me in and then I had an intubation.

My husband has Parkinson’s and we live just a short distance from a small business up the road. He uses his wheelchair to go up there in the mornings, eat breakfast, and to sit around and talk. From time to time, he had problems with his chair turning over with him. So, my son figured it was best we get something like LifeFone to reassure him and us as well that he was safe or if something happened to him, we'd know where he was. One time, my husband turned over and they called until they got my son's phone number. They had called 911, of course, and they got here. My son before he got here says, "Momma, hit that button and ask them if they can identify where he's at." So, I did and the lady says, "Ma'am, I can only see a tree and a building." That immediately helped me to know where he was at. They have been very helpful.

LifeFone has been very good. I was having a lot of back pain and I've fallen a few times. About a year ago, I had a couple of episodes where the device went off and the fire truck was here immediately. I live in the country on a farm and it was nice to know that they could get here fast. It was a lot of help and a comfort to me. Now, just recently, it’s been going off at night and I couldn’t figure out why. I realized that the battery was running down because very soon after that, I got a new LifeFone. My mom used to have a medical alert device and my niece said she's gonna give me one. I said I couldn't pay for it but she told me not to worry about it. She said I need one because my legs become numb and give way. She got in touch with somebody she knows from LifeFone and they came out and installed it so I’ve been wearing it ever since.
LifeFone is good to have and I have used it once. They couldn’t really understand what was going on because I was up at one end of my trailer and my monitor was back in the bedroom where the operator can hear me and knew I needed help. I told her I was almost passing out and at the time I was real dizzy. I didn’t know if it was diabetic or heart, but the longer I stayed up, I just felt like I was gonna pass out. I haven't had any problem before because of an overactive bladder like hurting, burning, or straining. They carried me on down to the Carrollton hospital and luckily enough, it was nothing but a bladder infection.

When we would need the 911 service, they wouldn’t give the EMTs the right information. Then there were several other mistakes that had occurred, and finally we decided to get a LifeFone. With Lifefone, my personal experience when I've been conscious has been fine and everybody has been friendly.
One time my friend had pushed the button, but I was unconscious because I had several seizures in a row and was having a grand mal seizure. There were two people here and they both said the LifeFone rep was rude. The rep was having difficulty hearing them and maybe she thought it was a prank or she could have had a previous caller that had done that. I don’t know if it was because it was a panicked situation or if there was something that was blocking. I have the LifeFone in the middle of my apartment, and so I’ve been heard from my bedroom and from my living room when I was unconscious there. Overall Lifefone has been a decent service. We have LifeFone for many years now and what has happened in the past was my mom would live up here with me for a while and then decide she wants to go live with my sister down in Texas for a while. LifeFone has always been very good about working with us - where we transport the equipment down from one location to the other, plug it in, push the button and say that now she’s in Texas or Oregon. The transfer has always been done without any problems except the the last time she came up here, the people and contact phone numbers were not changed from the Texas numbers and names to the information up here.
My mom experienced a fall several weeks ago. My sister was with my mom at the time and called 911. Somehow LifeFone did get connected and my sister down at Texas was called. She had no idea what was going on. By the time I put all the pieces together and called LifeFone to find out exactly what was going on and why my sister was contacted instead of me, that’s when I found out that the names and phone numbers were still in accordance to her Texas location. So I had the person I was talking to change it.

When we needed the Lifefone team, they've been very good and courteous every time in giving a response. Whenever I have pushed the button, it's been great. I've used it many times and it's very sensitive. When we dress sometimes, we forget and let it fall and it's activated. However, my husband had two falls in the past couple of months, and neither one of them activated when he fell. I don't know whether it was because it was too soft a fall and didn't pick up or it was just a fluke.

I live alone and need to have some way to communicate so I got LifeFone. The people there are very nice. They're doing a good job and prompt in responding so I appreciate their help. However, I turn in on accidentally every now and then, and I never knew what I did wrong. I wanted to know if there is something I can do to make sure that it won't happen. But then I'm doing okay and perfectly satisfied if they are not upset with my false calls.

I got the LifeFone for my father who is 90 years old and living alone at home. I have found them to be everything that they proposed to be. They've been really helpful and extremely professional. They are very economical for the service that they provide, and they have upheld their guarantees as far as their commitment to what they would do. When we first got it, they used to call him periodically to check in and say, "We're testing the system. Is it working? How are you doing?" They have been an excellent source of security for us in knowing that my father has an alternate means of assistance and keeps us from worrying so much. Our challenge is he's usually outside doing things. So we've had some ambulance calls that weren't necessary, but it's been a very good system and I've been pleased with it.

Without Lifefone, I would be afraid if I fell or was disabled in any sort that I couldn't do anything. It gives me the ability to just press my wrist and talk to someone. Their people are very lovely and reliable. Because I wear a wristband, my LifeFone is on my wrist. And a couple of times when I was getting something out of the closet or the drawer, it went off and the receiver was saying, "Emergency. Emergency." So I quickly pushed the button down and said that I inadvertently pushed it and that there was nothing wrong. They were very nice. They didn’t make any remarks or made me feel like, “Well, the dope’s going to be in the ambulance.” When you’ve never been in an ambulance before, you wonder what’s going to come next but it was fine. I call them every month to tell them that my machine is working. And the first time I called, I told the girl that my experience with the ambulance went great. It was very unexpected that it was going to be so nice, because you have your ideas that other people say things. So overall, I had a great experience and recommend LifeFone.

I've had LifeFone for two years. I had a need for it because I've fallen three or four times at my home. The reps wanted to know a little bit about what happened and what the condition was at the time. Unfortunately, one time the phone was plugged into the wrong plug. But that was the fault of the person who was repairing something in my kitchen area.
LifeFone is there if I do need it. I keep the bracelet on 24 hours a day so I feel secure with that. I also have it at a good location in the obvious area right at the part of my kitchen. I'm also well covered and the people at LifeFone have the names and phone numbers of my family. They go down the list if there's a need to contact them if I have any accident. The only thing I need is a reminder to test my equipment once a month because I forget to do that. I have to either leave myself a note and one time, I got a quick call from them. But if it's a space of a few months I'd appreciate if their people could give me a quick call. Also, I was in the hospital for almost three months recently. My daughter discontinued the service. Prior to that, the billing was once a month. But we were a little surprised that we had an $89 charge when it was discontinued. That was straightened out, though.
LifeFone is a good service, but there are people out there who do not have it. I met a few of them in the hospital. I had a roommate who was living alone and was recuperating from surgery. We talked about the phone system and I told her that it really enabled me to be in touch quickly several times. Unfortunately, the fee is objectionable for some people.

There is one time that the EMTs came out and assisted him and helped him get up. The pricing is really good and competitive and I prefer to pay it once a year. It's considerable savings over the other systems that are out there. Nevertheless I was thankful I was okay and they were more than considerate. I didn't want to cause a lot of confusion like that, so I'm working on it, but it happened one more time.
The device is pretty comfortable to wear. My son put a special hook by the side of my bed to put it on at night because I toss and turn a lot at night and sometimes almost choke myself. I've been real happy with LifeFone so far and I promote it when people ask me about the device. In fact, I just talked to another woman at church that was interested in something like this.

LifeFone has been very good and helpful for the person I am taking care of. It makes us feel more secure that Rosemary has it, but we're fortunate that we really never had to use it. When she accidentally pressed it, LifeFone answered right away and reassured her that everything's okay. The only concern was when the batteries went dead one time. We hadn't checked it and she actually needed to use it, so it was a concern for us and we were very upset. She's an elderly person and could've been wearing it for a long time with the battery being dead and we just didn't know. It may be our fault because we didn't read carefully, but there should have been a warning to alert us. We were told that we're supposed to check the battery all the time. But LifeFone sent us a new one right away.

I've been very pleased with them and I like the rate very much, until my machine started blinking and I started hearing from people in numerous places over the United States. I've had emergency two or three times. I like the LifeFone to be adjusted some way because from the moment that I press the button until there's a real voice on the other end, it's a really long time. Too long to get a response. In an emergency, you want a response as soon as possible. But they have serviced me to get me the help that I needed and they got through to my children.
In the beginning, I had the wristlet and it was very uncomfortable. I adjusted the strap by moving the prong up the holes that are in the straps and it kept slipping out. I realized that LifeFone has a choice of the velcro adjustable and I opted for that. A few times I've misplaced my wristlet and I had to get a new one. Recently, they sent me the one that I did not want and I ended up losing it. I have arthritis in my fingers and they don't move that well. It’s very hard to take the wristlet on and off, get it back on comfortably and readjust the prong all the time. I went a couple days without it and finally reported it. I told them to send me the velcro one and they did. I'm using it now, but I wish I didn't have to go through those ups and downs.
Bella, thank you for providing us with feedback about our service. We typically respond in less than a minute but realize that in a stressful situation, that can seem like a long time.
The wristband that you have can be swapped for another style or for our neck pendant if you ever decide you would like to do so.

Martin, fall detection technology is designed to achieve the best possible balance between detecting falls and minimizes false alarms. While no fall detection system is yet perfect, LifeFone’s fall detection is designed to detect approximately 95% of falls. The fall detection pendant is constantly detecting your movements. This pendant contains tiny sensors that can detect changes in motion, as well as changes in the height of the pendant. These sensors are sampled up to 100 times per second, and they are monitored in real-time to detect tiny changes in motion that you may make.
This system was designed based on the study of movements and falling patterns of thousands of individuals. That said, every person is unique, and some people experience more false alarms than others. Even with the inconvenience of false alarms, fall detection could be a lifesaver by notifying us that you needed help in an emergency - even if you were to fall and lose consciousness. Should you decide to change to a non-fall detection pendant, just call us at 800 882-2280. We’re here 24/7 to assist you. There is no charge to switch. We will adjust your billing to reflect the new cost of service, and any amount you have prepaid for fall detection can be credited to your account or returned to you.

I was able to call the paramedics when I was unable to walk, but for some reason, they think when they got here that their phone system somehow activated the LifeFone, because we didn't press the button and weren't aware. It didn't come on and say emergency, we didn't talk to anybody. But we were able to straighten that right out because the paramedics called here and those who came explained what was going on. My son decided to get a LifeFone for me. I feel comfortable knowing that I have it and the people are always very nice. I called them in December when I was having chest pain. They said they would get help and they certainly did. The firemen and the ambulance were here within minutes. LifeFone also called my daughter, then she called me and stayed on the phone with me until the ambulance driver got here. And she was going to meet us at the hospital. Now that I really used it, everything turned out so well. I certainly didn't have to call 911 and I'm glad I have it.

I punch my LifeFone button when I fall and they respond immediately. I have a history of falling, and I fell in the yard one afternoon. I made it to the porch but I couldn't reach the door handle, so I spent the night there. That was when I decided I needed help. I'm satisfied with their service.
