If you are considering buying a Pule Home, you might want to reconsider. It took the company a long time to fix a long list of things at my house that shouldn’t have needed to be fixed in the first place. And they fixed them only after I complained to the BBB. I still have an electrical problem that can’t be fixed without tearing out walls, so I gave up on that.
Their sales people do not make the “Extras” clear. As a result, I do not have pendent lights over my kitchen isle and will have to have them put in at my expense and inconvenience. They “lost” a sewer manhole cover and had to bring in a backhoe. When found, it was right in front of my front door where it had been covered by sod. There were other problems also, but to conclude, “Buyer Beware”

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re very sorry to hear about the issues you experienced with your home and the length of time it took to address them. We’re also sorry to hear about the confusion regarding the pendant lighting selection and would like to escalate this for further review. Can you please private message us with your home address and contact information? Thank you again. ^KH

We bought a Pulte home a few years ago. We had to replace the A/C unit after 2 years. Apparently they put in a rebuilt unit instead of a new one. We also had to have the home re-piped after pipes kept breaking open. The plumber said the piping was a mess. They used sub-standard piping and the pipes were twisted in place to fit. Pulte refused to help. The lawyers we contacted didn’t think the money we lost was worth their time. What’s 10 thousand dollars to these guys! The plumbers said the plumbing was either not inspected or they were paid off to pass the inspection. They said that’s the way these things are done. Don’t buy a Pulte home!!!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Eugene. We’re truly sorry to hear about the issues you experienced with your home and the frustration that resulted from those repairs. We would like to make leadership aware of your experience, can you please private message us with your home address and contact information? Thank you again. ^KH

I am extremely disappointed with Pulte Homes' handling of my warranty claim involving water intrusion behind my laundry area. During their inspection, Pulte determined that my water softener installation was not configured according to their specifications. However, their own plumber also identified a crack/chip in the laundry box assembly. The water that entered the wall cavity did so through that crack—a defect in the home's plumbing infrastructure—not because my water softener was leaking directly into the wall.
What is most frustrating is that this is a relatively new home, and I expected the builder to stand behind its workmanship. Instead of taking responsibility for a defect discovered during their own inspection, Pulte refused to provide any repair and left me to deal with the issue myself. When purchasing a new construction home, buyers expect warranty support and accountability when defects are found. Unfortunately, my experience with Pulte has been the opposite. Based on my experience, homeowners should carefully consider how much value Pulte's warranty truly provides once a problem arises.

We’re sorry to hear about the frustration and disappointment surrounding this situation. We would like to escalate this for further review, can you please private message us with your home address and contact information? We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. ^KH

My home in the Del Webb Bayview community in Parrish, Florida, is a little less than 3 years old. I have begun to notice some cracks in the corner of the garage near the door. I am concerned that this is indicative of a looming structural failure. In terms of home warranty, I am still covered for structural incidents under the PULTE warranty. I am requesting that PULTE send a structural engineer to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Hi Frank, thank you for bringing this to our attention. We're truly sorry to hear about the concerns you're experiencing in your home. We would like to escalate this for further review, can you please private message us with your contact information and home address? Thank you again. ^KH

I purchased a brand-new construction home from Pulte, and the flooring is already cracking, breaking, separating, and visibly failing throughout the home. This is not normal wear and tear. This is not a minor cosmetic issue. This is a serious construction defect in a new home that should never have been delivered in this condition.
What makes this even more frustrating is that Pulte has already acknowledged and taken responsibility for the same defective flooring issue in my next-door neighbor’s home, yet refuses to take the same responsibility for mine. These are comparable homes, built by the same builder, in the same community, with the same type of flooring failure.
I reported this issue within the warranty period, but instead of resolving it, Pulte has delayed, redirected, and avoided accountability. I should not be forced to spend thousands of dollars out of pocket to repair defective flooring in a brand-new home when Pulte has already recognized this issue in a neighboring property. I am extremely disappointed in Pulte’s handling of this situation. What should have been the excitement of owning a new home has turned into a stressful and exhausting nightmare.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We're truly sorry to hear about your concerns with the flooring in your new home and the stress this has brought upon you during what should be an exciting time. I also want to thank Keila Perez for helping me gather all documents that I needed required for the closing as scheduled, and Jacob ** for building an impeccable home and showing me all its functions. Thank you all for your services, Brian **.

Many of the problems found after moving into the new Pulte Home were fixed (scratched/scuffed cabinets, loose stair rail, cracks in drywall, cracked floor tiles, etc). However, we noticed the carpets were getting speed bumps in many of the rooms (loose carpet) after just a few years. After doing some research, it appears that this is most likely due to a power stretcher not being used during the original installation. We called Pulte, and they said they would not fix the loose carpet because that house was older than 1 year. Even though it's a new home, if it's a Pulte Home, I recommend having a professional inspector doing a full inspection before accepting the home.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear many of the concerns you identified after move-in were addressed, but we’re sorry to hear about the issues you later experienced with the carpeting. We'd like to escalate this for further review, can you please private message us with your home address and contact information? Thank you again. ^KH

Pulte Buyers Beware! FYI - We are dealing with a major plumbing issue in our Pulte Bell Tower model home that never should have happened in the first place. What should have been a simple $20, 20-minute repair turned into a $1,720 nightmare because of how the home was constructed — and the “proper” long-term repair is estimated at OVER $3,000.
To make matters worse, Pulte Homes refuses to take accountability now that the warranty period has ended — despite this clearly being related to construction quality and design choices. They took all our information, had us submit photos, promised a supervisor would review the case, and then completely stopped communicating. We can’t even get a supervisor on the phone now, and nobody will return our calls.
What makes this even more frustrating is that this is NOT our first plumbing issue with a Pulte home. During the warranty period in our previous Pulte home, we experienced another major internal plumbing leak that went from the second story all the way down to the first floor. At some point, this stops looking like “bad luck” and starts looking like a pattern. Both plumbers have stated this is not to code. People spend hundreds of thousands of dollars expecting quality construction and accountability from a builder this large. Instead, we are left paying thousands out of pocket for problems that stem from poor construction decisions and inaccessible plumbing design.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're truly sorry to hear about the plumping concerns within your home and the lack of communication from our team. We'd like to escalate this for further review. Can you please private message us with your home address and contact information, that way they can reach out to you directly? Thank you again. ^KH

I would rate zero if I can. Very disappointing experience purchasing a Pulte model home in Raleigh. During the sales process, the practical implications of the “AS IS” purchase structure and expired workmanship warranty were not disclosed at all during sales phase. The builder’s sales agent took the deposit and told us deposit can be refunded within 20 days. After inspection revealed multiple concerns way beyond ordinary cosmetic wear, we requested repair or release of our deposit. Instead of working cooperatively, management refused to release the deposit and provided poor customer support throughout the process. Buyers should carefully review all builder addenda and warranty limitations before signing.

We appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention. We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand your frustration regarding communication and expectations during the sales process. We'd like to escalate your concerns for further review, can you please email customersupport@pultegroup.com with a brief summary of your concerns along with your address and contact information? Thank you again. ^KH

Since purchasing our new construction Pulte home 1.5 years ago in Highland Grove, Riverside CA, we’ve had a major water leak in the master bath and garage, our carpet had to be pulled up as it was installed without the floors cleaned (drywall and empty packaging was found underneath), the carpet tacks weren’t hammered down at closing so sharp tacks were sticking up everywhere, and a garage electrical outlet overheated.
We had a gas leak in the kitchen. The bolts fell out of the garage door opener chain system resulting in the door stuck open; we paid a large sum for an electrical upgrade in the garage that we never received - this was only discovered when the pulte installed car charger overheated (currently trying to get refunded), the dishwasher heating element died, the dishwasher racks rusted, the microwave electrical panel died, the common area behind our home is littered with trash and high dry brush up against our fence (fire hazard). Pulte customer service is a generic message and repairs are slow- you cannot actually talk to anyone at Pulte customer care.
Our home “advisor” overseeing our water leak was reactive rather than proactive in getting repairs completed properly and timely. Our bathtub and shower had to be removed as well as our water heater, the contractors sent to repair usually only completed part of the job and had to come back (filled 2/3 drywall area, only secured part of the shower door, etc) and the home advisor was missing in action - there was no supervision during repairs. Pulte is not addressing the trash or dry brush behind our home. Reimbursement for costs and damages due to our water leak was slow due to “technical difficulties with check system.” Buyer beware - there is no supervision of the home building process, final inspection. Or if repairs are needed.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’re very sorry to hear about the number of issues you’ve encountered and the frustration with repairs and communication. We'd like to help and escalate your concerns to the appropriate team. Can you please private message us with your contact information and home address? Thank you again. ^KH
