We are getting older and so we looked at houses down at Harrisburg. When we came, we just decided we wanted a Clayton Home since we knew where it is at. So, we looked at the homes two or three different times, and we found one we like. The people there were just as nice as they could be. They helped us in every way they could and we went ahead and got the home in. They brought it down and set it up, and if we had any problems with it, we just call them up and they come down and fix it. They took really good care of me and they fixed the house the way I wanted it. The process takes about five months. It took that long to get it set up because in the state of Illinois we have some taxes that we had to wait for them to get it all through, more or less just the paperwork.

Nevertheless, overall, our experience was very good. I’m very satisfied. They had really done a good job and when I had it set up about two or three feet off the ground, that was what they had done. Everything is guaranteed for a year that anything goes wrong, we just call them up. We have been here for about nine months now.

The reps at Clayton Homes were wonderful. They sat down with me and helped me out step-by-step. They took their time and went over everything thoroughly. With the stuff I didn't understand, I asked them and they helped me through it, and broke it down to where I would understand it. It was an easy process and they made me feel comfortable in every move I made. The whole process was pretty quick and I was 100% satisfied.

I called Clayton Homes and talked to Ron to ask some general questions. When we went up there to Sulphur Springs, I asked for him. He sat us down and started talking about what we wanted, what we needed, and getting the basic information. Then we started looking. It went quickly. We were going to finance it. However, I decided that I was just going to buy it so my son would have a place to live and not have to worry about anything, so I paid for the house in cash. From the time we did that until it was put in place, it was a month and a half. Ron was straightforward and he had answers to everything. Then Donahue came in and we just had a great time with him. They were wonderful to work with.

We had a very fun experience. My son has done construction. He and Ron talked the technicalities, and he decided the building and structure were appropriate, so we found the home. We looked at two or three different ones that were within the price range we wanted and my son picked one. I would tell others that if they could get a hold of Sulphur Springs, which is where the plant is, they need to go to Clayton instead of somewhere else because they’re the ones that can make the choices, decisions, and changes.

Factory Product Shoddy - Buckeye - Purchased our Clayton Home and had it delivered in October of 2017. Due to drop ship no clean up was done to the outside or inside of the home. Normal shipping problems such as cracks can be expected and the factory sends someone to fix items such as this. However, there are so many issues with this home, I'll try to list as many as I can. The factory paint job is so poor can't even call it a paint job. Overspray everywhere, nothing was taped off to paint. Paint is on the floors, cabinets, toggle switches and lights, fire alarms, no caulking in the home including door jams, baseboards, etc. There is drywall tape visible in many areas. Did not clean the floors before applying the tiles on the floor so there are dimples under the tiles. Paint on outside vent from the dryer has peeled off. The hot water heater door is made of particle board and is expanding.

About 5 panels on the outside are cracked. Paint is sketchy throughout the inside. The stove quit working after about two weeks and since Thanksgiving was coming we had to purchase a new stove at the cost of $650. The kitchen faucet had to be replaced at a cost of $250. Paint is on the backsplash in the kitchen and on the stainless steel exhaust fixture. The exhaust was put in before painting so there is a line of wall behind the glass that isn't painted. Numerous cabinet doors had to be replaced as they didn't close properly and still don't. Front door doesn't lock properly. The shower tub areas have glue left all over them, also paint is all over the tub area as well. Salesperson in Mesa, Mike **, didn't mention anything about drop ship conditions. Also neglected to mention that the kitchen cabinets weren't a varnish but a paper that is put on the cabinets. Therefore they will mark up easily and peel with time.

Approximately $9,000 was required to have the home shipped and set by Clayton. It only takes about $3500 to $4500 to have a home set (we paid $3500 by a local licensed contractor), so that leaves about $5,500 to have the home cleaned. Why should the homeowner pay to have the mess cleaned up that was created at the factory? I've purchased many homes and we have never had to pay to have a home cleaned up after construction is completed. The only thing that the Clayton Homes wanted was our cash and we didn't even get to see the completed product before it was delivered to our lot in Vernon. It leaves me to believe that the only thing they were interested in was our money. Any other buyers beware of Clayton Homes.

I do want to add that Clayton has sent out to our home a person that is tasked with fixing the mess left by the factory. Lee ** is the person tasked and he and his wife are the only silver lining in this saga. Kudos to Lee and Kim for going the extra mile. Shame on the factory for not having a quality control walkthrough before shipping out homes to unsuspecting customers such as my husband and I. Finally, how can Clayton Homes sell a product this bad???

Where do I start with the bill and Steven BS from Lubbock store. I don't think they ever were honest with me. After initial sales agreement price was increased 5 times all with the same excuse. One of which, 10,000.00 increase, they didn't even communicate. It just showed up on closing documents. Now 6 months after closing they ask for another sales agreement saying deal is done but we need this for our records. It was for 7,000.00 less than closing cost. There was issue with linoleum bill. Said he'd get me a cash settlement on it. Never happened. I asked for them to get on roof and check a spot. Bill stood in yard and said, "Oh no. It looks great." I've been in construction either full time or as side work for close to 25 years and knew he couldn't tell from there.

The factory service guys came by and I explained the roof concern. They went up and checked to find the ridge cap missing in a section. Now it can be fixed and prevent future damage. There was no coordination in the setup of the home. I would get a call at 10 am saying they were on the way and needed in. It's 25 miles from my office and I am often in the field. The guys came in And put up framing for skirting with no notice. I stopped to find it had been done. They framed it 2 days before the electric and water were done leaving them to hand dig under it instead of holding off and working together so they could just run the trencher.

After closing the end of August they came out right away to stake for home. Bill immediately started commenting that I would need to come up with more money. I was now going to have to do land prep which was shown in closing documents to be included with purchase. They refused to do local permitting and I had to rush to try to get it in time because they felt they couldn't wait even though it was their septic paperwork that was needed to get the local permit. To get through FHA inspector they only had sent one set of handrails for each step and needed two.

They took the rail off the front put on back for a photo then moved both to the front. They were supposed to bring the others over but after a month still not here. They say they are coming next week now. I had two sets of steps from a different trailer. They said not to worry they are included in price of home. At closing the steps were added on for over 700.00. I tried contacting corporate but to date have had no response. I wish I had never went here. Just stay away from these guys.

They called me once a week and also let me know when it was ordered and the day it was going to be set up. They told me a couple of days in advance to make sure everything was ready since the home was coming. Clayton Homes was something that I knew. There was also Palm Harbor but it was expensive. Across the street from them was Crown Homes but I haven't heard good things from them. I went to Clayton and had a pretty good home buying experience. The process took two months from the time we went in there and started paperwork until we actually got the house. It was pretty quick and it was pretty smooth from beginning to end. And the people at Clayton Homes informed me on everything, always answered and I could just call them whenever. The built of the house was nice and there's nothing that I dislike about it.

We checked around and thought that we got the most for our money with Clayton. The home buying process and their consultants were good. They helped us out quite a bit and they even told us about the information that we needed to straighten out for us to qualify. The salesman had dropped the keys then we called him back and asked for the master keys for the lock. Also, we worked out a deal for some additional furniture. There was a defect that we found and repaired it, after that removed it, and they got that done quickly. They were able to address all my questions and concerns through the whole process and I have recommended them to some friends. If you're looking for a mobile home, Clayton probably got what you're looking for and they'll help you out as much as they can.

I went down to several different places and Clayton made me the best offer. They had what we needed. It was just a rental place and they were a little bit cheaper, a thousand dollars cheaper than the other two places I checked. Clayton had some things that went with it and pushed it over the top. I bought it and they were really good about setting it up. Everybody was really good, even the guys that set it up. The salesman was nice too. I paid cash for it. They told me what they’d cover, what they'd do, and the warranty. But I didn’t have a warranty because it was a rental. Everything went smoothly and worked out. We had a couple of little things but they came and fixed it. It was easy for us and I was pleased.

My best friend got her house from Clayton Homes. Her mother works there and we've heard a lot of good things about them so when we were looking, that was where we went. We also talked to another place in the past couple of years and we had talked to a realtor and looked at a couple of houses, but this was what we decided to do with the land that we have my husband grew up on, so we love our neighbors already and didn't want to move.

Buying the home went great. At times, it was frustrating waiting on the paperwork and legal stuff, but other than that everyone was really great. They seemed just as excited about us getting our house as we were. We felt like a family as soon as we started dealing with them. They've called and checked in on us and when my son wasn't feeling good when we were up there, the lot manager called the next day just to check on him and see how he was doing. Everybody was really knowledgeable about our questions and if there was something that they didn't know, like Sandy, she would go find out and she'd be on it. They didn’t leave us sitting around waiting for days on answers and they let us know about the paperwork process and kept us up-to-date. And I always knew that they were just a phone call away.

The house we bought was the one straight off the lot and I absolutely love it. Everyone has their own space and I have lots of wall space and I love all the pieces of furniture in it. It's still in a settling and there are little creaks and cracks here and there, but that is to be expected. The refrigerator was too small to begin with and I really need a big refrigerator because the extra space will drive me nuts and my family eats large. My whole life I wanted a big double refrigerator and I got one, and my husband is currently working on a white picket fence for me to top it all off. I have told a couple of friends, who were looking into getting a double-wide, that Clayton Homes was the one that did our service and these guys would really take care of them.

My mother is elderly and I needed to move from Louisiana. So, my husband said that we should stop by there and look at the homes. We went to another housing company down the road on Presley and didn't have a good experience. They didn't even ask to write up anything to see if we would be able to be financed. We waited a while then decided to go to Clayton. We went there on a Friday and found out that Saturday morning that we were approved.

Our salesperson, Opal was a people person. She talked to us and made us feel relaxed. Her personality was awesome. I have never had that experience before in my life. She filled up the application and talked us through it. There was one trailer that we looked at and I liked it. But then, when we went back to sign papers, Opal said that they had a trailer which was discontinued. I saw that trailer which was a little larger and fell in love with it. Opal redid some figures and we purchased the trailer thereafter.

However, the only thing I don't like about my home is the master bedroom. It should have a ceiling fan. Instead, there's only one ceiling fan in the living room. Also, it should have two light switches, one when I enter the room and another for when I'm going to the bathroom. Now, I have to get out of bed and walk all the way around to tap the switch on the wall. But otherwise, I love my home. Go look at Clayton Homes and see Ms. Opal.

The only downside was that we couldn't look at this exact home because there wasn't a model out there. And when I was looking at the home trying to figure out which one I wanted, she tried to get me with the loan. We got the loan and Misty worked with me on that and began all the process. She was very helpful. The first of the year and maybe two months after we had started in the process, I was about to give up and she kept telling me not to give up. She kept me going. I'm very dissatisfied with Clayton Homes. We've had the home for eight months now and I've had them out to fix stuff five times at least. I needed the straps to be tightened underneath so the floor doesn't have that burl. They did it one time but they told me to call them back after a couple of months and they would come do it again. But I ain't ever been able to get them out here. Also, the little strips they put down on my wall would not stay up either because they're cut too long so they burl up after a while and they pop the little staples out. I also got a crack going down the kitchen ceiling. It ain't but about six feet long, but it's still there.

I've also had water leaks in both bathrooms. They've come, fixed the water leak in the one bathroom and replaced the pieces of the paneling there but it's leaking again. They don't even have a damn mirror with a light on it in the bathroom. They don't put stuff in these houses anymore. I moved out of a Palm Harbor home and it had everything. Their contract also says that they space the two-by-four every 18 inches but they don't do that. I'm retired and I wanted to come to the country and set up up here. The purchasing process was good but if I had known that these homes were built so cheaply, I would've never bought it.

The home buying process with Clayton was first class. From my salesman and the manager, they were nice and polite and sold a good product. The sales rep was great. She went out of her way to do extra little things that most people wouldn’t. Same way with John. He would do the little things that when they were seeing something coming up or a question, they went and got literature and had it ready. I was pleased with the service there at Muskogee. If anybody ever asked where I got my home, I’d be the first one to send them to John’s way. I got some things that needs to be fixed on it at this point in time, but I haven’t called in and let him know about it. There’s always some wrinkles to be worked out and things. But other than that, everything’s been good.

We're happy with Clayton Homes. Our guy's name was Mike and he has been very helpful in anything that we’ve needed help with in getting things taken care of in the house once it was put on the property. He also answered every question that we asked and we had lots of questions since this was a new experience for us. Also, no matter how many times we asked the same question, Mike never got annoyed or acted like we were a problem. The people at Clayton Homes were very helpful and courteous as well. They didn't know if we were buying the place until we actually signed the paperwork, but the whole time they acted as though we were a customer already.

I was researching because I knew that I was going to look for a place. I looked it up on the Internet and I just decided that I was going to drive down the road, and whatever place that stuck out to me, was the place I was stopping at, and that's how I came to know about Clayton. Todd was the one that met me when I went in first and I told him exactly what I was expecting and that I wanted to get a place for our family and stuff like that. I explained our family situation to him, my needs, and he took me into one of the best possible home that would work for us and that we would be more likely to be approved for, and we discussed it all.

I was very comfortable with everything that he says, and his confidence and the ability to see for the customer. They were 100% for us and he talked to me through everything, any questions or anything that I needed or have where it needed to be, he was in contact with me all the time. I always knew what was going on. The home buying process went as smooth as the baby bottom. I have no negative comments at all. I don't think anything could have been done any differently. The only thing that they were surprised at, is that they didn't think that we would get approved for the lowest FHA loan, but we did.

My house is customized. I have two people in wheelchairs. So I got originally a three-bedroom and two-bathroom. But there was the option to have the third bathroom in between the two bedrooms towards the back. I didn't want the bathroom there, so they put it towards the back wall, added a door there. Both my bathrooms are customized to not how it was on the floor, like my son's wheelchair, I had him put in not the bathtub, he has the shower and they didn't put the doors on it, so that I could get in and out with no problem. All my doors are 36-inch doors for wheelchair-capability, except for one, and that was the one into the laundry room because of the heater and the hot water tank, so it wasn't feasible. But that's fine, because they didn't need to get in there anyway.

I had the back door or the back sliding glass door with windows, where I had them put a window or the sliding glass door in. The bathroom, they had the entrance to the closet in the bathroom, and I asked not to, I wanted it on the bedroom, they did that. I have the shower in my bathroom. I took the big garden tub out, and I took the shower out, where the shower was, the toilet is now. And where I had the shower, is where the tub put them in. And it's like the big tiles showers, so that I could get my husband in and out of the shower since he's wheelchair-bound.

The build is good. I have some small issues, but it's manufactured homes, so I mean, some of the trimmings, and stuff isn't right. But the guys are coming in and they're fixing it and they're doing everything, like some of the doors aren't right. It's a little bit of everything. But for overall, I love the way it was built. It's sturdy and it's sound. It's economical and I love it. Clayton is the best place to go to get a good quality home and someone that's going to be upfront with them, and be honest with them, and walk them through the whole process and it would be a piece of cake.

They worked with me in regards to taking me through all the steps I needed to go through for the purchase of the home. The consultant was very friendly and willing to answer any questions I had. But I have a concern in reference to the timeframe it takes for Clayton to come out for what issue has to be addressed in terms of once I inform the home center of an issue. For instance, with my particular home, there was an issue with the doors. It was the manufacturer's responsibility to address the doors properly and it took six months for them to actually fix the issue.

I went to Clayton and I told them the price range I was looking at. I also told them what I wanted such as the bedrooms and the location of where it would be going. Their rep walked me through five different models on the lot and I picked the one I wanted. I got the financing, went back up there and brought him the check part and they made it on out here. Anything that I needed doing, I called and let them know. Within 24 hours or so they would call me back and set up an appointment to come out here. I didn't have any waiting time and they've been totally awesome.

The person who made the sale was a champ. If I was to recommend anybody, I’d definitely tell them to get with him. He was very knowledgeable as far as what was on his lot and was informative too. I love my home and I'm very satisfied with it. I like the kitchen area where it opens up into the living room and the master bathroom. I like the layout of it, the way it broke down and how it all correlates and rolls right into one another. I also love that awesome Clawfoot tub in the master bathroom, amazing.

We had a great experience with Clayton Homes. The home consultant, Malcolm, was very convincing and a really nice person. He arranged everything and had the people all lined up to get the trailer in. All aspects of our home purchase were explained thoroughly. We just accepted the house that we found. It was fairly good colors and it was the kind of decor we had in our old home. But right now, we have a problem in the house. We have a big leak and we haven't been back down there since June. But we've got to get that straightened out. We've talked with Malcolm and Eddie and they were good. Malcolm answered all the questions I asked and if I had a question, he would get back to me in five to ten minutes. If a friend asks, I'd tell them to go down to Alders Beach and look up Malcolm at Clayton Homes.

I was interested in a certain trailer model and I went with Farmington after trying three Clayton Homes. I was interested with the one in Chino Valley but I just wasn’t ready for the home yet. And then when I was ready to buy the second one they added a lot of things extra to it. I had already did an application through Glendale and then I went to Farmington, and I told them I already had an application and I was approved.

They had a certain sale going on so I asked more questions, their set up fee and their moving fee and all that was included with the purchase that I made. But the other Clayton Homes were going to charge me an additional 10,000 for the move. With the other Clayton Homes at Farmington that was included in the purchase so I like that better. They really worked with me.

The house that I wanted was called The Breeze Two. It was a double wide but after adding everything up the one that I found that was on sale was a three bedroom single wide. Since I was already approved for a certain amount I told the rep I was going to take the one that was of the lot. I went over the payments and I wanted something right away, so instead of waiting for it to be built I just liked that one how it was. I’m happy with what I chose. I didn’t want to overwhelm myself. They included the furniture in it because they were going to do some kind of sale like a 1000-dollar free utility payment but instead of that they exchanged it for some other things that were in there. They got it here as soon as they could. They were professional about that and I liked that place better and I would refer them to my family members.

But I live right on the East Coast of Maryland and we're having a major wind storm right now. I've got shingles blowing off of it. At this point I'm not real happy about that. The rep Jennifer told us we could get off the lot for $650 and I wound up paying $715, which we're struggling with. Another thing I did not like was when the home came to us, it had no curtains. From what I was told, the home was supposed to come with them. So, I had to go out and buy curtains to put in. But everything was good besides that. I have no credit, and they worked with me and got me into the home. I had a good experience overall and I would refer somebody to them in a heartbeat.

My husband and I were very satisfied. Everybody helped us. The manager dropped everything including interviewing people that he wanted to hire. He rearranged the schedule to come out and look at the property and then the office manager went out of her way to make sure that we have what we needed, especially scheduling the service guys who came out and fixed the little things that we found.

Clayton's price was reasonable, the repair service has been timely, and everything has been done well. The service guys really knew how to fix the different things in the house, too. I had a wonderful experience with Clayton Homes. Tyrone was my home consultant and he was a little sweetheart and a really good man. He’s got a personality and a sense of humor. If people don’t have a sense of humor, they’re fuddy-duddy. And called him a bunch because I had to get other people to get out there and deliver our house. There had been so much waiting. We’re out in the middle of an old cow pasture and it’s where our business is set up at. I didn't know when they were going to bring our home out. Once it's here, they still have to get it up and everything. So I called Tyrone back and he told me he was going to find out and would call me back. He always calls me back.

My salesman was very good too. I called him a bunch and he was always patient with me. Justin was his boss and he was the one that went to the lady that does the court stuff when you sign the papers and all that goes to the lawyer. We surprised them because they never had anybody pay cash. That kind of threw them off but they figured it out. One of them said he had to talk to his boss. I wrote him out a check, the biggest one I’ve ever written. They are really good people at Clayton Homes and they will work with you. You just need to go and talk to them.

Clayton showed us several different homes when we went in there and we finally picked one out. Then I told them exactly what color I wanted inside and out. The salesman told us that we could change the color of the outside which was what they did. They went through everything and followed through on all their promises. They were very helpful, polite and understanding, and they answered all my questions and made sure I understood every little detail when we did the closing because I had to have it explained to me or I wouldn’t sign papers. They were great and I had no problems.

I customized inside and out just like I wanted it. They had a built-in entertainment center that was made of stone in the back living room and I also wanted one in the front living room, and they got that done for me. The carpet color was changed and made sure there were ceiling fans in each living room and family room. I also had made sure the blinds were on all of the windows. Also, I switched over from electric to a heat pump and I couldn’t ask for a better deal because it was really great. I felt so good about the quality of the build and I'm very well-satisfied with the experience.

We did long distance home buying process because that's our second home and we're from Florida and this was in South Carolina and it was very simple. The salesman was very good. He explained everything well and I just did most everything by FedEx.

And then when I did a walk-through everything has been fine. Communication has been fine. I'm a contractor and I wasn’t happy the way the seam went at the double wide and they've come back and made it right and made me happy, which isn't easy. And I've upgraded some things since I didn’t like the quality of some things like some of the plumbing fixtures. The reason I bought this home was because I didn’t want to be building away from the house. They're probably only as good as the franchise people who own it and these people did fine.

This is the second home I bought from Clayton Homes in less than three years. I shopped around and looked at stuff in person, and I liked Clayton Homes' salesman. He did all right. However, some of the appliances in them were not good, especially the dishwasher. I planned on buying two more, as a matter of fact, in the next few years but I won't buy another one with a dishwasher. They're junk. I had a guy come out. We were looking at one dishwasher, from the first time we turned it on, it leaked and they still haven't fixed the bowl underneath the dishwasher that got damaged by that water leak. It was extremely disappointing. I won't buy another one with a dishwasher in it.

The salesman was a good guy. I dealt with the actual manager, and then one of the guys he brought in, he tried to help him out. The guy that was there last time wasn't there anymore. So I talked to the manager, and then he got whoever was next in line to get involved in the sale. They were all extremely friendly, helpful and they did their job. However, the process took too long. But the issue was with me trying to schedule my time. I worked a lot of hours so my time getting up early to close was an issue. The first time I did one, I wanted to pay more than the required down payment and they had my paperwork and my money order was wrong. So, I had to go get another money order. That was the one before this. So this time, I knew what was going on and they tell me what it was, so I just I pay them off quick.

It's been a fiasco getting some of the parts that we needed. This home came with one of the front panel's missing on the air conditioner. It took me a month a half to get it. And I still have to fix that bowl. But the service people have been nice. They've done a lot of stuff, they just had to get things finished. We signed the paperwork in July and they still haven't done it. Overall, I like the people, the home, and the process is right but Clayton Homes could've been a little bit punctual about some things. Nonetheless, I'll buy another one.

There was a lack of communication on both mine and their part. We have now come to a agreement and have worked out all the problems with this issue. I myself was too quick to make a decision on what was going on without all proper parties involved. Clayton Homes has been local forever and I know some guys there. I liked Timmy who is the manager and I dealt with him as well as Dave. We had some hiccups because of my financial situation because I'm self-employed and got multiple entities and it made a little more complex than normal than if I just had a paystub. But other than that, the home buying process went good.

I'm a little disappointed about the quality of the home, though. There were some issues that one could tell were pure slackness. One can see where somebody was having a bad day or didn’t take a little extra time in finishing or doing right. The fact that it's not quite taken much time, they should know what they were doing. The installation of the cabinets was crooked and all were getting adjusted. Some of the trim wasn’t properly put on and barely touching on. The master tub motor keeps messing up left and right. They fixed it, come out, break out again. There were a few things that’s normal for a home and it was just cracking. So except for the factory issues I had, dealing with Clayton is great and Timmy has been good about trying to make it all right. I have no complaints for the actual dealership.

About a week later, I brought them my money and three days after, they were doing the groundwork to get everything ready. It took about two weeks from the time I paid them to get everything put in and set up. During that time, if I needed anything, I had their office and cellphone numbers. If they couldn't get my call, they'd call me back within five minutes. They also treated me like family and I didn't feel out of place. We really had an outstanding experience with Clayton Homes from the start of the sales all the way through to the installation. And the follow up and the price were good and what they tell you is true. The people at that site where we bought the unit from, the people that set it up, the people that hauled it, the people that did the decking, and the follow up crew were outstanding. I couldn’t believe that they could have however many contractors that they had that coordinated and with that much attention to detail with their customer in mind. It was unreal and one of the pleasantest experience of buying something.

TJ was the sales person we worked with and he lined everything up. He helped and was already over there for the closing. He lined up all the contractors and had them come out here, install the thing, bring it to the site, set the trailer up and level it. He also had the air conditioner guy install the air conditioner and the guy that do the decks and the underpinning timely. The repair person was a wonderful guy, too. He's worth his weight in gold when it comes to satisfying the customer's needs. That particular Clayton Homes branch couldn't get any better and I would recommend them to anybody.

We like our home from Clayton. We've had people over in our home and most people are surprised that it doesn't feel like a trailer, like it doesn't feel like a mobile home. They feel like it feels like a home. I worked with Lori at Clayton Homes and she was personable, made herself available as we needed it, and worked really hard to make sure that she could get us in something in our time frame, which was as soon as possible. She didn't pressure us or try to upsell. She heard our needs and was very respectful of what we said our budget was, and she did her best to match us with what we were saying we liked and whatever fit within our budget.

Our communication was mostly on the phone but there were a few emails. We took one of the models off in the lot as we were on a time crunch. We were going to order and do some upgrades through the order. But somehow there were two people going after the same home that we were going after, and our process ended up going faster than what the other one's was. So the other person ended up ordering instead of us.

We purchased our Clayton Patriot home in December 2017. We've only been living in it for a little over a month and have had nothing but problems. The seam between the home isn't textured or painted completely, it's also cut crooked and has a gap. Almost every wall in the home is either missing paint or isn't textured well. Before we even moved in we found 4 places in the home that the floors were cracked, one "crack" is almost a foot long and we were told nothing can be done about it, just "Patching". Almost every door in the home is, warped or crowned and do not close or open properly. Yes, most of these are cosmetic issues, but today it rained, and we have a sagging ceiling and a soaking wet carpet. In a BRAND NEW home, I have a POT ON THE FLOOR TO COLLECT DRIPPING WATER. This is even AFTER a Clayton rep. came and looked at the roof and said he found nothing wrong with it.

We saw Clayton Homes with some homes on Facebook. And we had lived in our single wide for 27 years for my husband and for me, 17 years, and it was time to upgrade. So, we went to a couple of different mobile home places in Oklahoma City and we liked Roxana, the saleslady at Clayton, the best. She was very friendly and she wasn’t overbearing. She’d let us look, and she took her time with us and didn’t rush us through. And we discussed what we could afford, so then she showed us the models in our price range rather than tried to push off a more expensive one.

We are very happy with our home buying experience with Clayton. They have been very good to us. We had a leak in the living room and it went into the laundry room, and after we called them and sent them pictures, it was within the week that they had a repairman out to fix it. We dealt with Ms. Judy on the home repair, and she was wonderful, too. Our home's quality is decent. I wanted a totally different home from a totally different manufacturer, so when I went through the process, I had already made up my mind that I wasn’t buying from Clayton. I had already picked something else out and I’m glad we went with Clayton. We would recommend Clayton to people who are looking for a home.

Clayton knows their stuff. My wife and I had done our research before we went in to Clayton Homes to buy the home. The guy who we dealt with business-wise had the answers to our questions and we didn’t go in with any nonsense. We knew what we wanted and he acted accordingly. To my knowledge, the gentleman who sold us our home is no longer at the property that we bought it from, but we genuinely enjoyed the service we got from everybody. We also dealt with the store manager and a lady, and all in all everybody treated us very well. There was a very minute damage from transportation but we are very satisfied with the overall quality of the home.

I went to Springfield and I was looking at different mobile homes. Clayton Homes was the third place I stopped at. At first, I didn’t really know if I wanted to stop there because they didn’t have their places open. I had to have someone go with me but after I stopped and he went with me and we talked about things, I was very glad that he did go with me. Having that experience with someone with me talking about the home was more influential than anything. The other places just say the homes were unlocked and I could go look at them.

The home buying process was easy and smooth. And I talked to the loan company a few times and it was really quick and easy as well. The gentleman from Clayton Homes I spoke with, Drew, was really good about explaining everything. Any question I had, he would answer it and anytime I called, he would call me right back if he wasn’t available. Doug, the guy who came out to do the inspection was also extremely helpful, and very thorough, and definitely made me feel like he was doing his job to the fullest extent. I’ve already told people up there looking to go to Clayton.

From the moment I contacted Clayton Homes until the whole thing was done, I don’t have any complaints at all. I couldn’t have been treated any better had I went anywhere else. I dealt with Daniel and he was very thorough on telling me what I had to do and answered all my questions. If I asked him about a cost of anything he would give me the best answer he could, and I had a general idea of what I was going to need like the electrician, the plumber, and that I would need to have the pad put in. If you need somebody, they will give you several names you can call, but they will not push you to get anyone and you're free to choose whoever you want and to use your own people. I went in and I was never hurried to do anything. I had a very pleasant experience. Daniel has a really joyful personality that he just went above and beyond. He knew no pressure and he did follow through checking on me.

It wasn't my first trailer and I had already been living in one so I knew there had been a lot of changes with permits where I live from putting the new one on. It was really easy back then and you didn't have to have anything. You just drive the trailer and plug it up. When I needed a few changes in the trailer, Clayton Homes took care of it. They got me a washer in the trailer and you don’t really get that now. I also got decks on the front and back, but I didn’t even know I was going to get those, so that was an extra surprise. They told me when I walked through the home that they built for me that I would find things that might not be quite right because in transport things happen and they don’t know some things themselves. Daniel told me to wait just a little while and once we got in and got settled, I could make a list so when they send somebody up he could get out here and do it.

The first couple of weeks that we were in here, I had a leak and something wasn't done on the ceiling like it should have on the outside of our bathroom. So I called Clayton and the man was here the next day to take care of it. The man that came out here was phenomenal too. I had him do a lot of little things and he went above and beyond too. And then something happened in my other bathroom and they came right out here and took care of that as well. They ordered me a new wall board because the previous one was a little wet on the bottom.

They really tried to please me in any way, and I’m grateful Clayton Homes was able to help me get the trailer because I didn’t have the best credit in the world after not working for three years. I told them about what I thought I could afford and they agreed with the income I was going to have come in. They stayed within my payment, and it just worked out well for me. I don’t have any problems recommending Clayton Homes to anybody.

The salesman was excellent and Milton, the manager where I bought the house, was great. They took care of everything. They did all the paperwork and all I had to do was sign papers. Also, what little things that were wrong with the home, like the doors needing adjusting, they came and did all of it. They did everything they said they’d do. The home is also energy-efficient. With my electric bill this winter, as cold as it’s been, the highest one was $86 for the whole electric bill. I was very impressed with them and I still am.

We were out riding and looking for a home. And with Clayton Homes, by the time we pulled up on the lot, someone was out there to greet us and asked us if they could help us. I’m very satisfied with the home buying process and everybody was great. We got started in December and it was the first of August when we moved in. I got some money from the FDA, which may have been some of the reason why it took so long because it was somewhere around March before they released the money. And then they didn’t have the home that we wanted, so they had to build the home from the ground up. I’m satisfied with the quality of our home. We just had a few problems after we moved in but we got them straightened out and everything seems to be going fine. I’m telling everybody who comes here that if they go with Clayton Homes, they’ll get treated like we were. There were other people at the same time we were there and we all got treated fairly.

Picking and buying the home went very smoothly. We really liked the home, but we've had trouble since then as far as getting somebody out there to get stuff fixed. We went to other companies but the Clayton rep, Hayden, helped us the most. She was very willing to help us try to get everything that we could get. There were times that she drove down here to Canyon. We live about 25 minutes away and she drove down here to get papers signed.

We have a really nice home and we were able to customize it. It's of good quality and we like it. We've had a great experience until recently. We've lived there for six months now and there are some things that we feel are a little cheap. They wanted a list of things we wanted repaired but our house has now been torn apart for over a month because we have a hard time getting them to come up and get it done.

The carpet doesn’t seem to be high quality. The pressure coming out of the faucets is real slow and we've had the plumber come out because we thought it was just our water pressure in the well and he said it's the faucets in these homes. He said we can ask them to replace it with the same faucet, but that we're going to have the same problem. But if we're to buy a more expensive one, we're going to have great pressure because the pressure under the house is fine. Things break easily. The blinds have broken a couple of times already.

Beds are sent in the middle of the room because they start the repairs but there doesn’t seem to be a set schedule of when they're going to be there to get finished. That’s a little frustrating right now. After those six weeks when they come out and do initial repairs, they were great. The girl that scheduled all that, I could call her and she gets somebody out there in a heartbeat to fix it and it was great. But since then, it's going downhill.

My brother told me about Clayton Homes in Fort Worth. I went down there and I looked at what they had. They seemed nice and I really liked what they had, but I went ahead and did some more shopping and looking around. Finally, I decided that Clayton was the best place. Tim was there and he seemed like a very honorable man and a good person to trust. He told me he could back up everything that he was going to do and I believed him.

The guy that worked there was very good and I dealt with the head guy too. It just so happened that he drove by going to work where I moved so he stopped by three times, checked and made sure I was happy. He told me to make sure to get a hold of him and if there would be any problems, he'd take care of everything. I’d recommend Clayton and would tell others that I’m really happy with them. As a matter of fact, I suggested it to my son and told him about Tim. Clayton was really fair and it was a good place. They seemed to be thorough and Tim assured me they used good products in the installation. They stand behind their product so that’s good to me.

The company I had before comes from a trading post and I didn’t have a good experience with them. I passed by Clayton Homes every day on my way back and forth to work and I stopped by one day, and it's the best thing I've done. The Georgetown branch is really good at what they do. Joe made everything easy and he made us feel special. My home was moved out on a Monday and my new home was moved in on a Wednesday. And I moved in the following week so it was a two-week process. It was very quick and everything was up to par. They explained things very thoroughly. I was in there three or four different times to make sure I understood, so they told me several times to make sure. They made me happy.

I customized the antique old-look cabinets as well as the flooring and the color of the paint. I'm having a few issues but as soon as the issues get cleared up, we'll be fine. We have a fireplace and the inserts are already broke, and I'm waiting for them to come and fix that. I'm also supposed to get another dryer because the dryer I had was scratched. They're going to bring me a new dryer but that hasn’t come yet either. I've already sent two people to Clayton Homes and one of them might be in the process of buying.

The experience with Clayton Homes was wonderful. They’re near Cleveland where we live. We went there when we were looking for a home to buy. The salesperson that we spoke with was very friendly, honest and open. I’ve been in the customer service business for 20 years and what she provided was exceptional. She helped us with our water as well. Being welcomed to a new state, no one can beat the young lady that helped us with everything in our new location here at Tennessee.

We've had our Clayton home since August. I had bought a model home, so not everything was brand new. I had to get a couple of things fixed and repaired. From the time we moved in and got all the screens, to everything being finalized it took a couple of months. It could’ve been less than that, but I had to wait for the screens, the toilet seat and the drywall. Nevertheless, I’m big on customer service. So if someone wants to get in, Clayton Homes would be the place to go. I would recommend my sales person as she went over and above the call of duty.

There's a lot of miscommunications that when I'm making a person to update, I would like things to happen a little bit more on a timely manner. There were communication issues that Clayton didn't either talk to and some, talk together and forgot a game plan before, so I wouldn't have to call all the time. I would have to call numerous times and they would never get a hold of me. If they have something changed or I told them that I wanted to know the progress of my house, or how's it been built, when it got started and I never received a phone call until about two weeks after it was done.

But overall, the home is pretty nice. There were some things like the trim work, there were a lot of splatter and overspray from paint. There were some loose beat up trims and those were all notated when they came out for inspection. Some trims were coming away from the wall. They came out and fixed the cracks but there were a few extra cracks that they didn't cover. And there are some spots that I have marked that didn't get fixed. But the quality of the house, I don't feel like it was the best of quality, spending that much money. There were some things that were messed up on the wall that were not straight. I told them, "Well, I can fix it myself." And so they didn't have to rip a whole wall back out. And they were going to help me out with whatever I needed to try to fix it, so I can make it look at least half-way decent, and I never did hear anything back.

The thing I cannot risk the most is, they told me that when I did an energy efficient home, and so I went all electric. And my electric bills are three times as high as my old house I had in town. You can't afford to run the heater because it was 600 or something dollars this last month. And here's in the winter months. I'm at my old house that was built 1979 that had all windows. The most that it would be was $250 and that was easily in the middle of the summer when the AC didn't shut off. Now, in the summer, it's not that bad, it's easily around $300, when it's really hot, which is expected because it's all electric. But the winter was really a big shock.

Overall, there were a lot of things I was satisfied with my Clayton experience. Jerry from Clayton Homes was a nice guy to deal with. And the contractor that I dealt with helped me out tremendously on a lot of things. But as far as the way, the quality and the responses that I got from Clayton Homes, nobody really knows. It's a long process to try to get them to come out and fix something. Their houses are pretty decent but I wouldn't say that they were the best. Definitely, go with the propanes instead of the electric and make sure that you notify that you want contacted more often. Make sure you're on top of things instead of sitting back and waiting.

Clayton Homes had a home that I like on display. I’ve called them a couple of times and they were here the next day. The salesman would call and check. I spoke on the phone with their rep, Larry, but I bought the home through Brian. They were both good. I just put a little bit of money down on it and they told me when I would have to have another downpayment down. There wasn’t a lot of paperwork, and I also didn’t borrow any money on it.

I love my little house. It is a display model and it is simple. It had everything I wanted such as the walk-in shower and it also had a huge bathtub which I’ll never get in but my grandkids like it. I like everything. Before I moved in, they had electricity hooked up and I was still in the old house which was just within stepping distance. They had to put a new dishwasher in because the papers are in. And when they hit the electricity up, I didn’t realize that the dishwasher was on and so they changed it out. I’d recommend Clayton Homes.

We were first-time home buyers and Clayton Homes really helped us as far as getting everything ready. I had already bought the piece of property and we were thinking about bills. Then we got pointed in the direction of a modular home. We went a couple of times and we really liked THE SUPER 68. When we were going to pick out a house, Stevie was really awesome. She was really the selling point on my house.

She was very knowledgeable about everything from the ground up. Every question that we had, she answered and gave us all the options with everything we could do. I'm the type of person that likes to try to fix things if something goes wrong around the house and she said the houses are built like regular ones and I can go to Lowe's and buy anything I need to fix them. There was supposed to be carpet in all of our bedrooms but she said we can do anything we want and we don't have to do carpet. We went with hardwood floors throughout the whole house because we got a dog and a cat.

Mark, the guy that's over the Clayton in Johnson City, was a big help. He came out and looked at the property with us. I told him where I wanted to put it and although he told me I can do anything I want to, he also gave me some pointers on what would look and probably operate best for where the house is on the property and what we're going to use the property for. I recommend them to everybody.

She was a top-graded salesperson and I'm glad that we had her. But I got a little confused with too many options in the home buying process and I didn't like that part of the sales. I'm still getting offers from some finance outlets to finance my mobile home or manufactured home.

Now that I'm living in the home, I'm only 80% satisfied with its quality. I was totally satisfied, though, with the layout on the inside of the home that we got. But the dishwasher and the refrigerator left a little to be desired. The refrigerator worked just fine, but it was small. The dishwasher was new, but it never functioned very well, and it didn't dry and rinse very well. I also didn't like some of the trims that Clayton chose, like the little strips that had the seams, and the way that they had installed them. In addition, I'm going to have to re-caulk around the windows and the seams outside because water gets behind them. When I first started looking for a double-wide, my cousin who lives here in Fountain went with me to a town where six or seven of the houses up there were Clayton Homes. So, we did that and we went there first. And then, we spent the next three months looking for places because I needed an education to try to figure this out. We went back to Clayton a second time and the ladies there knew what our stuff was. They called a third time, we went there and it wasn't right. They called a fourth time and we bought it. So, they worked very hard to give what we wanted and hooked us up, and it worked out very nice. My credit score was a 7.43 and I didn't have any money down, so that's another reason why I went with Clayton.

We came back a few times to find the units there laid out the way we wanted them. The layout was critical for us because there are two dealers living in here. We had to have separate areas, so the layout was key. There was one there the first time that we really liked, but it was a little bit expensive. They sold it and a month later, they had it back there. We looked at it again and the rep couldn't get the price down to my budget range. And then, she finally found this one. This wasn't even put together on a lock because she knew I was going to buy it. That's how well she knew me. They just had it closed, but it still had plastic on it. I was very pleased with their professionalism. They've even called me a couple of times since I bought the double-wide just to make sure if things were cool. They treated me real well. I was even able to move in before I paid.

Right now, I'm not using the AC and my electric is right at $4.50 a day. I can get it down to $3 a day too if I'm really quiet and we're not doing a whole lot around here. In the summertime when I worked the AC, it was up into the high $5 per day, which I found quite reasonable. I noticed though that when I used the heat, it was up in the high $6 for some reason or another. That was a little bit concerning, but it is what it is. There was a major tropical storm here last summer, and we had some high winds. With the windows closed and the place closed up, I couldn't even tell the wind was blowing. So, it was that airtight. I'm quite impressed with it all. I'll recommend them to anybody.

Our son and daughter-in-law bought a mobile home from Clayton Homes. We went out there and looked at theirs. And since we were renting an apartment and getting tired of the apartment living, we bought one, too. We did okay with them and there were no surprises. It just took a while to get all of the paperwork together but it was not bad. I was just anxious wanting to get in it, but they were doing the best they could. And the girl who sold the home to us was really nice to us.

We love our new home. The quality is great for us. We've called Clayton a couple of times for minor things, and they've come right out and checked it for us. We had to change the lock on the door and then we had them built the front and the back porch on which we've enjoyed. I would tell my friends that we were glad we went out and talked to Clayton. And I think they would, too.

The people at Clayton Homes went out of their way to help me all they could. I went to one place and they wouldn't think about helping me. We don't make enough money and I was then forced to move because our landlady was selling my house. I've been there 25 years and I'm 74 years old and they thought I was old. I was desperate. I didn't know what else I can do.

I went by Clayton Homes and they talked to me. I'm on a fixed income and it's hard for me to go out and try to do anything because I don't have enough money and they helped me. They never said, "You're too old. You can't get it done. You're not worth it," or anything. They were real nice to me. Anytime I had a problem, they come right out and fixed it. They sold one of the mobile home I was looking at before I made up my mind. And when I got this one it was on sale but it didn't have what I wanted on the other one - like the ice maker and an outdoor closet but they put one here.

I was scared at first because we have hurricane here and being in a mobile home. But other than that it's been great. We stayed here during a couple of thunderstorms and it seemed really sturdy. The home consultant was really helpful and a man that was true. I called up a couple of times and someone came out one time fix it. We did have one storm here and a man next door had a tent set. And it was a straight-line winds I guess that it picked it up through against my mobile home. It damaged my mobile home some and they came out and fixed it and we didn't have any problems.

They're on top of everything. The only thing that I'm dissatisfied with is my shower. I can't use my tub because I can't get in and out of it so I have to use the shower. And it doesn't fit right or something and it leaks every time I take a shower. And they're supposed to be getting a new one so hopefully they will. But that's the only problem I've had with them. Try Clayton Homes. They're really nice and they work with you.

We started the buying process with Clayton Homes for my house in January and I didn’t get moved in until July. It was really rainy and it seemed like we kept getting pushed back on the list to get my house out. The house wasn't really drawn together and looked terrible with new holes and everything that’s visible. They could probably hit it a little bit better since they hit it a lot better in the model. It's factory or manufacturer problem.

The floor still isn’t replaced and they came twice to do that but they have yet to fix it properly. They’ve been doing it in the cold whether instead of letting the floor acclimate to the temperature and the surrounding. They just go ahead, lay it down, pull it tight and leave then a month later, it starts buckling, bubbling and becoming wavy. They're not actually fixing it and they're damaging my home on top of that. Whenever they are there, they're messing more things up. On the other hand, the Clayton Homes representatives I dealt with were excellent. I would recommend them because Chris and David, who I mainly worked with, were amazing. They're doing everything they can to get the issues fixed for me.

I was looking for a mobile home to purchase and my son brought me to Clayton Homes. He said it would be a really good place to start and so we started there and it’s where we ended up, too. The buying process went fine, and it was simple and easy. The guy who walked me through the process was new on the job, so it was like a learning process for him as well. He helped me along in the process, however, he told me that I would get some dinner passes for free and I never received them. And I was very disappointed about that.

I asked Clayton Homes to make a copy of all the papers that we did closing off the deal because I moved. When I moved, everything that I did with them was lost, so I have no proof of my purchase. I called Clayton's guy again and asked him, and he said he would mail it out but I’ve never received it. And it has been many months, so they never did what I asked them on this. I already recommended one guy to Clayton Homes and told him that everything went pleasantly with me looking and purchasing a home from them.

We liked their design and price. And Clayton Homes was local as well so we decided to go with them. We talked to John as our consultant and we ordered the home from him. Then Ray was the gentleman who came in and took care of the stuff that had cracked from settling. We also dealt with Heather, the construction manager. All of them were good. They were really good with putting up what we needed and they were very easy to get along with. The process went through very well. It was informative and any questions we had were answered quickly. They got back to me just within a day or two when I had questions.

We found the property back in April last year and there was a home sitting on it. Clayton Homes had to torn it down and then they put up the house and we moved in July 1st. I had a few problems with the settling where things were cracking and some coming loose. But Clayton came out and fixed it relatively quickly. Also, the master bath, the tub, and one of the water faucets leaked, but they came out and got that fixed as well. We have a five year warranty and I'm going to get a hold of them again because our dishwasher is not working correctly. But everything has been great. They've been very helpful and things were fixed.

I have a friend that lost a bid on a house, and I told them about how Clayton was good to work with and that they get things done. She went in, found a property, and got everything set up to order the home. But then the original bid that they thought they lost became available, so they decided to go with the home that they could move in right away.

The craftsmanship in the home is less than desirable. Shingles on the roof looks like they were trimmed by a blindfolded drunk with a dull chainsaw. Flashing is crooked, siding was installed improperly (wrong style and color in wrong location), not secured at bottom edges, poor joint mating. Interior has several issues, kitchen sink drains installed crooked and leak, cabinets hung crooked, base cabinets out of square, water leaking around sliding door, windows installed crooked.

Tile work in kitchen where meets countertops not grouted or caulked. Trim work on inside is smudged with nail hole filler throughout the complete home. Paint on light fixtures and trim.

This is just a portion of the poor quality work in this home. The home model is the Roosevelt, with several upgraded features. I may be expecting too much but, at $115,000 I expected better quality. I was told that standard drywall finish is a 4, don't go more than a 3 unless you want to see screws and seems. I am not sure about how likely I would be to recommend a Clayton Home until I see the results of the repairs. I met with the service technician at the home today, and got the impression not much would be taken care of.

Updated on 04/07/2018: This is my second post on this home. After writing a negative review I was contacted by Clayton homes. I felt like I was going to get some resolution to my problem, nope just lip service. I had a factory representative show up to the home and did a walk through and confirmed my issues. He told me they would send contractor from Michigan to take care of problems. Not that far to drive from Michigan to Indiana. They must be lost. The local sales agent sent their crew out to make some of the repairs, but just like the factory poor quality work.

I've read other post about Clayton quality, looks like they need new plumbers, roofers, and siding employees. Since the first post I have a second roof leak that did damage all the way to the basement, destroyed the master bath vanity and possibly the flooring. I've included pictures of missing trim work, glue stain in the granite counter top, crooked cabinet, water damage in two places, and gaps in one of all the windows in the house. Is it time to hire a lawyer and start a class action lawsuit? There is strength in numbers. Anyone wanting to contact me may do so at; **.

My reason for this review one to WARN other Clayton buyers & two for the way we as Clayton homeowner have been treated. Since we purchased our home in 2017 we've had nothing but issues with repairs. Our home is barely yr since our purchase with continued water leaks in kitchen as well as bathrooms. One of our main leaks in our master bedroom shower that had black mold...we barely caught the rack there was a leak. They don't even check behind wall got shower leaks or water heater leaks. Then we continued to have HVAC problems both outside unit & our inside froze up solid ice...then blower problem. Only after fighting several months did they replace blower & thermostat has be replaced. We also found out vents not opened enough to vent. Then we had so many cracks unbelievable... They fix those & now more are appearing.

Our so called fancy cabinets LOL are very very cheap. We have nails coming out & they're peeling but hey we haven't been in home a full yr. Flooring that has cuts in hallway & kitchen where they were cutting to fit & well there are other cuts can see plus carpet has holes spots where pulled away from wall. The worst part of our home is where you walk down hallway of our double wide & wall is bowed in not even wall miss helped. We were told because of lack of A/C & heat the wall bowed in not flat can really see it. Even had electrical problems in half our kitchen. The worst thing now we fighting & they don't want to do is problems with our roof. For will now we've asked it to be fixed but Clayton wants say warranty is expired in Jan 2018... we're supposed to go to our Homeowners insurance.

They said our warranty doesn't expire til March 2018 yr from time moved in. Clayton trying to take easy way out!!!! Our roof has missing shingles, worn shingles, holes in roof, putty all over looking awful, shingles coming off. It's sad partly all this money & getting screwed by salesperson & mgr to get things repaired. Clayton in Florence SC their manager Happy Jack ** doesn't seem to take anything serious & doesn't want fix what we need fixed. Just kick us to curb!!! We wish we would of never bought home with them. They don't care at all about customer. Sooo sad there are others I've talked to having same issues as us. Beware of Clayton Homes ALL!!!

Carrie showed me a couple of Clayton Homes models and I chose one that was at a discounted rate. I applied and I got approved. Carrie kept me updated daily and was very helpful. At the end, I started meeting with the people and I had to sign a lot of paperwork for them. It was aggravating with Cascade Financial, but every question I had, Carrie had a response within 24 hours so that was good.

I was able to customize the floor but the quality of the house is kind of cheap. The floors are already starting to get soft and wrinkled up. I tried to contact Carrie about this but nobody is contacting me back. The brown paneling that goes around the doors and almost five of those panels have come off. I've had to nail them in myself. The sink has started leaking and I had to have my step-dad fix that. The siding has holes in the sides of it. I wish I would have taken my time and really looked into other things.

When I started looking for a home, there was a company that had one house that I really liked, but Clayton Homes was a little bit more reasonable and they had options for me to look at. However, I would’ve liked to have had a detailed itemized list of the costs involved. And I feel that it was somewhat hidden from us. And then I could also make a better judgment as to what I wanted or didn’t want in a home. I would’ve gone with a different home. Also, when we went on the lot, we saw the price of the home. But, then when we got to the time that we were buying the home, we were given a different price and then we were told it was because it was a newer year and the one we were looking at is older. I did not feel that it was forthcoming. It really bothered me that we were paying more than our expectations. So, it changed a lot in what we wanted in a home.

We loved the person that we worked with, Bonnie. She was wonderful and very personable and we loved doing business with her. The only thing was there were so many things that were wrong and we were waiting for people to get back to us, and to fix some of those things. They had a problem with one of their people quit without notice and it put them very far behind. My husband and I tend to be very laid back, so we understood that. But we would have liked them to have picked up the phone and called us. They didn’t let us know about the status.

My husband said some of the issues with the home were not a big deal. They have addressed the issues when we brought them up, but then they didn’t come back and check to see if all of the issues have been taken care of. They took care of one or two issues, and then six weeks later, we were calling them asking about the other things. They were Johnny-on-the-spot for the most part, but they should have taken ownership instead of us taking ownership.

We bought a double wide since we had refurbished and built houses and we didn’t want all of the crap that comes along with building houses. And, it was just as much of a headache. They put the house on the wrong lot about a quarter mile from where we actually live. And then to complicate that, because it was a different lot and it was a more hilly location, they didn’t have the equipment to move it, so they had it pulled via chain from my excavator’s bulldozer which made the move rougher. They created more damage to the house than you would normally find in moving a mobile home. We know that when moving these things, they twist and turn, but if you have the right equipment it helps minimize that and that was not there.

So, it has created several problems one of which we’re still concerned with. We decided to go with the more expensive siding and it buckled all over the place and they claimed it was from the heat of the sun. And my husband and I are like, “Every house has one side that faces the sun.” So, they came out and replaced the siding, however, we brought up to them that when you site down the wall it is still wavey, so that tells us it’s not the siding alone of the house. And I’m not confident with the build of the home.

Also, the siding was stapled where it is not supposed to be. They are three inches away from the corner of the wall. They’re using staples on a two-inch lot like a map. They should put it on a headed nail and then leave the nail head proud so the siding can move back and forth with changes in heat and humidity. We paid extra for a premium siding and it warped all over the place. So, they came and replaced one side and then the front side. The problem is you can site one side now and the siting goes all over the place back and forth but it’s the underlayment under the siding that they were nailing the siding to that is not straight.

Also, we decided we did not want carpeting and we got the vinyl out and now we have about 15 nail popping up. They said they will have somebody from the factory come out. Another problem that we’ve been having fixed is the wall boards that they’ve been replacing. When they put the wallboard up, they should staple the edges down and then they cover it so one doesn’t see that staples with trim. However, somebody was obviously being lackadaisical about the staples because in some instances those staples are two or even three inches out from the corner. There’s no way the trim is going to cover it. And it is the same thing on the flooring I’ve got in two bedrooms where there’s no way to fix it. The staples are out on the flooring.

We’ve had a lot of problems. And just because it’s inexpensive doesn’t mean it should be cheap. The house keeps the rain off our heads, and it’s warm in the winter, and we got a good view, and it’s nice but there are some negatives, which were increased because of the problems. And although we appreciate that when we call them, they come and fix it but the downside to that is that we're interrupting our lives to be here for the people who come out to come fix things that really should’ve been done properly the first time. There have been times where I’ve mopped the floor and then they called, they showed up and by the time they were done taking the wallboard down and putting it back up, I got a mess again. They do their best to clean up but they’re not going to clean up like I will.

My fiancee and I were looking for what we're going to buy. We went in at Clayton Homes and Janna there was really helpful about getting us the information. So, it made it a whole lot easier and we didn't really try anywhere. We filled out paperwork and we waited a week. Then, we were approved. We went in and closed within a couple of days. And a couple of days later, Janna had someone called about bringing it out and fixing it up.

Janna went on vacation right in the middle of our closing and the manager there had to do it all. And it was like Janna and he didn't talk. The stuff she gave us, he took back like the couch and living rooms that we have for and stuff like that to be left in there and paid extra. He said he couldn't find the extra and he took it away. But when Janna come back from vacation, I told her about it. And Janna really worked hard and got it all back for us. But I didn't know that for the first year that we have it, everything's covered under the warranty. And then, we got the extended warranty that was for five. I'm still not sure how that works and I was kind of confused. But she sent me an email on it so I had it safe.

Our hot water in the house had messed up. And I didn't know that we were covered. So, we tried and fixed it ourselves and then, finally, I just called and I was like, "We have an extended warranty. How do we go about using it?" And that's when Janna was like, "Oh, no. You're covered the first year. What's wrong?" And then, they sent out someone and got it fixed.

So far, the home has been really nice. We only we countered a few problems with it that were taken care of. The only negative experience we really had with them was when we called and we had to get a refrigerator replaced because when we bought it, the refrigerator was bad and with mark. It took us almost two months to get a refrigerator and I was very upset about it. But anything else that we've had problems with, they got someone out to fix. I was reaching out most of the time. Also, they were going through a bad part, they just lost their maintenance guy and a couple of more had split on them. So, it really was hard on them. I understand that.

Now that they have the maintenance guy they have, I would totally recommend them. Because that maintenance guy is a bomb. He knows his stuff. We kept having a leak in the back door and they kept sending people out to fix it. The contractor they were sending out always really didn't know what he was doing. He came out like five times and he couldn't fix it. They got that maintenance guy during that time and he came out one time and fixed it. I was like, "Oh! I love you. You're the best." He was really good and he took care of it.

We were looking for a home. We went to the internet and identified all the mobile home dealerships in the area and started visiting them. We looked at Clayton Homes' different models and liked the quality of the home we settled on. We felt that it had better quality than nearly any other we looked at. Clayton Homes had excellent service. If we had any problems, they’ve been fairly quick to respond and correct those problems. Chris, the rep, was very helpful and patient. He stayed in contact with us and answered questions. Even after we bought the house, he contacted us through his own initiative on several occasions just to make sure everything was going well. We bought a lot model, but we asked them to take the carpet out of the main living room as well as the family room areas and put in a laminated flooring, which they did. The whole process took two to four weeks and I'm satisfied that it was done in a timely manner.

We love the energy-efficient insulation package, which had been a real bonus since our last home was not very well insulated. But the trim work is not quite what I wish it was. Although we knew what it was when we bought the home, it could have been better. My wife mentioned that they needed to get a lady in there when they put the cupboards together. They needed to get a woman in there and let her open the doors. A couple of the cabinet doors were oriented backwards. For all practical use, one couldn’t open the dishwasher and put items from the dishwasher into the cupboard above since the door was in the way. Still I would definitely recommend Clayton Homes to a friend.

So when we pulled in and wanted to look around, the Clayton Homes salesman was very polite and welcoming. It seemed like there wasn't anywhere else where you need to look. At one point, there was a little bit of confusion with getting a land properly for putting a home on the land. I was coming out of an apartment at that time, so it was just some missed dates and confusion as things were going back and forth. The weather wasn't good too, so there were some delays. But the overall process worked out very well and I was very satisfied with it.

They were on top of everything. In fact, they informed me with all the updates that were going on anytime something would change. They got me into contact with the mortgage lender, so I was able to speak with them directly. I was actually talking between Clayton Homes and the mortgage lender. And it was live in communication between us all and it was very good.

The home is of very nice quality. It's pretty much everything that we wanted out of the home. But we have one issue with it that it seems that Clayton Homes, the people in Rock Hill and supposedly the manufacturer is having an issue with as well. I was informed from the ones here in Rock Hill that they have three or four homes that have the same issue. The linoleum floor is actually not well. It has some indentations and it's not tight. They explained to me how they manufacture and put it together. But our kitchen actually has dents in it and it's pushing. It's not together and they're not sure how to fix them. So, I contacted the manufacturer and they are not sure what to do yet. But everything else is very well.

Everything was straightforward and up-and-up. And the salesman is a really wonderful man. He's as honest as he can be. And Barbara, the woman that's in-charge of the Rock Hill place, is honest. She's always busy but she's really nice. I'd tell my friends to check them out. In fact we were also on the internet, but there's so many different floor plans and so many different styles of homes. I have three adult kids and two of them are still at home. But they absolutely love our place when they come to visit to bring our grandchildren. Two of them are in an apartment and they actually are thinking about it.

Let me start by saying that the management team where we live is amazing and do go above and beyond. We also love where we live. We are in the country and the community is also amazing. So why am I writing this with a 2 star review you might ask, and the answer would be the home itself. I'm sad to say that but it's very true.

There were and are so many problems with the home that I honestly wondered if there was a Lemon Law for manufactured homes. The staff has been great at helping get things fixed but I've also had to spend a pretty penny on getting things right, and I don't believe that should be the case or for that matter ever have been the case. Below I'll bullet point some things that were wrong, I'm not sure this will actually ever do anything or even get posted considering it's negative and Clayton Home is so large, but here goes:

The whole laminate floor had to be replaced because of so many nails and screws popping through and making holes. The carpeting literally coming apart at the seams just from vacuuming the floor. The drains in the kitchen and bathroom all leaked and had to be fixed. The front and back door not firing right and letting in light and of course cold and hot air. The big valances in the two living rooms peeling and having to be replaced. The valance in the kitchen being completely cockeyed and having to be fixed. The kitchen counter bowing so badly above the dishwasher that it all has to be taken apart or be replaced. All the door knobs were loose or falling off doors that also all had to be adjusted.

Roofing issues that I actually had water damage that I'm not sure if it was actually fixed all the way through. A 1” ceiling crack that ended up being 3' long before it got fixed. Siding on the house that was bowing so bad it had to be replaced. Siding meeting at the skirting that didn't do it because it was cut too short causing a bunch of issues but also getting replaced. Ceiling paint over spray on doors, light fixtures and on the ceiling fan. I had to replace the toilet seat within a few weeks because they broke from just sitting on them. Cabinet doors with all kinds of damage on the sides that were just colored over with a furniture marker. Those are also being replaced.

There is in all honestly quite a bit more but I don't see the point in mentioning them as I'm sure my point has been made. Now like I said the management team here has been outstanding in working with me to fix all of this but I just don't understand why these were wrong in the first place considering how much money we spent; which to some might not be a lot but to us it was. I'll finish with this; this is not a random issue from what I have found out. Thank you for taking the time to read this and maybe just maybe fixing things like this going forward for your other customers.

I looked at Clayton in Huxley, Brown and in Brenham. I looked at the same home in all three places and their prices were about the same. They did a great job. It was just that the way that we were handled in Brenham was a lot better. The salesman was great in selling the property and did everything he said he'd do. He laid it right out in the open and exactly what it was. If I had to go buy another mobile home, I'd go buy it from him. The mobile home we bought there was for my granddaughter to live in and it was what we wanted and we got it for the price we needed.

From the start we should have walked away from Clayton while we still had the chance. But unsatisfactory customer service didn't stop us, just drove us to another Clayton location further from our home. But we were determined to make it work with Clayton. We thought it would be too time consuming to stick built our home, but in reality we could have gotten it done in the time that we are still awaiting to be in our home now. Once the home arrived and was set up, it has been an uphill battle. The home in itself is a home and it is a roof over our heads, but what we find inside is NOT what a new home should look like. See this "NEW" home of ours will be held together with putty, cocking, wood glue, spackling, grout, patchwork & if we are lucky replacement walls, cabinets and crown molding.

The integrity of my "NEW" is less than a lifetime due to the lack of care of those assembling the home! Due to uneven crown molding, uneven walls, less than symmetrical cracked/punctured/undoing cabinets, crooked wall outlets, uplifting carpet, rough/cracked corners & finishings, tethering wood, scratched stainless upgrades, unplumb doors, creaky floors, dings & dents, cracked tray ceilings & a factory employee that say some things may not be avoidable! But it's ours with a pat on the back & a warranty that should say "we know it's a damaged "NEW" home, we patched it up the best we could, it's all yours, good luck!"

Someone please tell whoever is in charge that I will fork out, out of my own pocket, to buy their workers a level, a framing square & a eye examine. Disappointed doesn't even begin to express how we feel about our experience using Clayton. I know we tried to take the easy way out, but easy isn't always better, CLEARLY! Steer clear if I were you, I know we wish we did!

    Updated review: March 5, 2019

Almost a year ago I posted a pretty bad review on here about Clayton Homes. This was due to the poor service we were getting from the local sales office after we bought our home. After I posted the review I got an email from Clayton's corp office that someone would contact me to get things resolved and to be honest I wasn't really expecting much.

Well I was wrong. Shelly at the corp office and her staff were just unbelievably great. All my issues were addressed and it was done fast. The reason I am writing this so late is after the 1 year period I wanted to make sure we got everything taken care of in case something else should arise and there were a couple more things but as usual it was taken care of no questions asked. I took the time to write a very bad review so I wanted to make sure I took the time to write a good one as well.

Thank you all at the corp office for your help with getting all my concerns taken care of. You guys are awesome! I mainly dealt with Shelly but this is for all of you (and sorry I don't remember all the names) that were so diligent in getting everything the way it was supposed to be. What was a very bad situation turned out to be great. Thank you all up there who helped me. Your service and friendliness is just incredible! Hopefully I will not have to bother you again but if I need to I know you will be there to help. Thank you again. Bruce & Cheryle **.

    Original Review: Feb. 7, 2018

An almost complete utter failure. I put almost because in all honesty everything started out extremely well. Clayton Home Cedar Creek, TX was very helpful. I started the process dealing with Val. After speaking with them about some land and finance issues we started the process of a loan. The loan had to be tried 2 different ways because of our situation to which Val was very helpful and her manager Joe. This whole process started in Oct 2017 and I was a little uneasy how fast things went. It just seemed like it was being rushed because it was the end of year and bonus money or commissions were on the line.

The home that we looked at on the lot we were told was sold (even though on the website it was never marked sold) and that if we wanted one like it that it would probably be like a Feb 2018 delivery. I received a call from Val one evening and was told that there was an issue with the original people property and that if I wanted we could take that house and could have it delivered before Christmas. I made the comment more than once that I needed things to slow down a little so I could process it all. It just seemed odd to me that they would give me someone else's house and make them wait if it were already sold. Once everything was approved everything went south and I mean everything.

On our initial walkthrough of this house there were several issues. The main issues were switches that did not work (3). Floor was bubbled up in a couple of spots just your average kind of issues I suppose. I was told that these issues would be fixed before the home was moved and once the home was moved we would go in and do another walk through and whatever else was noticed would then again be fixed.

DAY 1. Very excited to get the home moved. Took the day off work so I could be there. The moving company showed up and placed a bunch of pallets in a low lying area that the home had to be backed over (which they left and I had to go do all the cleanup). Home was put in place and they started to take the tarps off and the very 1st thing I saw was the refrigerator n the middle of the floor. Apparently it was not properly secured and came loose banging into the kitchen Island denting the doors, chipping the granite and tearing up the cabinet trim.

The mover immediately told me he had already called and told Val and Joe and they would get this fixed. Well if he did tell them they either ignored it or waited for me to tell them before any action was taken. in my opinion the fridge should have been replace but after a few weeks someone came out to basically look at it instead of bringing new doors he just came to see it then order them so we could take 2 days off work to get this fixed not only the door but it was also making a knocking noise which by the way still does to this day. REPLACE THE DAMN FRIDGE!!!

Ok next is the movers are responsible for putting the home together. There were shingles in bundles in the master bedroom. I was standing in the yard and heard a dragging and then a dropping noise as the guy that was carrying the shingles just drug them from the closet to the front door across the linoleum and then just dropped them. leaving a big scratch on the floor. They did write me a check for 1000.00 dollars to have the floor replaced which actually cost me 1300.00. So I'm out 300.00 on that one.

Next. The guys that do all the trim work show up to start doing all of the repairs (switches, cracks, painting and trim work). I had given Val a list the day before which she said she would give to them (she did not). I had to call them the next day to asked what time they would be out and they told me that they weren't coming out and had not spoken to Val. I called Joe pretty irritated he made a call and they were out later that day basically just to make an appearance because none of the major items were fixed.

They had to come back out on Sunday with an electrician to fix the switches that should have been fixed before the move and a fan motor had to be ordered because it didn't work as well. All this being said the trim guys have been out multiple times each time having to reorder parts that either didn't get ordered or didn't come in even though we were told they would wait till it was all here and come and finish. (Still to this day not finished.)

This house was moved out right before Christmas and we are still dealing with some of these problems. The next major issue and IMPLORE ANYBODY THAT BUYS FROM CLAYTON when you do your inspection get on the roof!!! I at the last minute decided to put up Christmas lights and got on the roof and was absolutely shocked at the workmanship!!! There were exposed nails everywhere maybe 60-70.

How does something like this pass inspection??? Does Clayton have quality control??? If you do that person should be fired!!! I grew up in construction and roofing and I have NEVER seen a roof put on like that. Not only the nails but the gaps and the lines were absolutely done by a 1st grader. HOW HOW DOES THAT PASS??? Apparently this is pretty common according to the trim guy. They are called "shiners." If I had not gotten up there these would not have been addressed and the roof would have been leaking in a years time if not sooner and I am still worried it will be.

I made a point of watching several videos on how Clayton builds homes before we bought but either someone is not being truthful or your inspection process needs to be examined. Ok my hands are tired, but believe me I could write a book on the comical screw ups in this whole thing. to Clayton cedar creek credit they did write us a check for a little over $1000.00 to cover some of the problems but I will never buy another home if I ever do from Clayton. Don't get me wrong I love the house the style and we are living in it but it wasn't worth all of these problems. To be honest I told Val to not call me anymore to deal with my wife I just was spent on having to listen to all the excuses day after day after day.

If someone wishes to talk to me about this I could probably spend an hour going over all of the issues I do not feel like inputting. Today is 2-7-18 and our home is still not completely repaired (76 days and counting). Still missing trim pieces they forgot to paint something and part of the kitchen floor still has a hole in it.

I told my wife this morning I was writing this review so we may end up fixing the rest on our own. We were so excited to be getting our 1st new home and it turned into a nightmare! This is just a smattering of all the problems that went wrong with this whole ordeal but I don't have the time nor the energy to write a book. I have kept a library of pictures and every email that was sent or received from Clayton just for my records. I will attach some to this review of the roof and the fridge.

I did want to say thank you to the people in the finance (VMF) part. They were all very friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. Kind of funny the part I thought would be the worst (finance) was actually the best. I hope some of these things can help to make this process better for somebody else. I would hate to see someone else have to go through this.

My daughter and I bought a home, they didn't shows us the home until after we signed papers, was told it was a miracle we got it, and I thank God, but regardless if it's a miracle or not we are paying almost 600 a month. Nothing was done as I ask they had to come back to do my floors which now have strips that collect dirt when I sweep, counter tops scratched, the kitchen counter edge is worn off as if it had been years, all the cabinets are peeling fake wood paper off, and at floor where I mop, they finally got me a garden tub I had requested, came, put that in. Didn't frame it or put enough glue. It's coming loose from wall and water will get behind it, light switches just fall off, Mike tells me he's gotta order stuff and never hear back from them or he's always on vacation. Love my house and very thankful for it but really? 3 years? I just quit calling.

We bought our house around July 2017, and moved in in Oct 2017. The buying process was super simple and set up was fast, however the house is literally coming apart. A service tech was sent to my home in November to fix the long list of mess ups and broken things, but NOTHING was fixed, just made to look WORSE! My cabinet doors were very uneven so the tech took them off and rescrewed them on and stuck putty in the holes from the previous screws. The tech removed the molding around my bedroom door to replace it and even it out, and he cracked it and PUT IT BACK AROUND THE DOOR. There is a gap that is progressively getting wider between my master bedroom and bathroom where the house is supposed to be put together. There is a huge scratch in my living room wall. Other bedroom doors are very uneven.

My back door and front door both do not seal and have to be slammed to shut. The second time the tech came out, he replaced the door frame and back door. He smeared caulk all on my door, vinyl siding and on my back porch. The door is worse than it was to begin with. The carpet in my living room looks 4 years old compared to 4 months old. Molding is falling from various places in the house. I went to my home office and spoke with them and told them that I did not want that service tech back at my home, that I needed someone else that knew what they were doing to get my home fixed. They scheduled the same guy to come back to my house after I told them I did not want him back at my house!

We started looking into manufactured homes around January of 2015. Everybody out in the Farmington office and in Colorado office up at the Federal was really nice. They offered a lot of help in those places. And their representatives are easy to deal with. They want to see their customer get into a home and be happy with it. So, they do all they can. They worked with us on everything. They would work with us when we wanted to be down there and see what’s happening. So, they took a while because we’re bouncing between Colorado and New Mexico.

This new home was up and running by Christmas. It was done in a good timing manner. I like a lot of the modern updates and that they use a lot of the PVC impacts for pipelines in there. So, it’s nice compared to a lot of manufactured homes that I’ve seen. We spent a week down there and on and off, it was cold and we had space heaters running so nothing would freeze underneath the house. It keeps heat in there and our whole bill for two and a half months was $7. It's efficient. We’re just looking forward to dealing with them on April and get a lot distressed cracks fixed and little touch ups here and there that they had said they would help us take care of. But everything else seemed to be great. There’s not half as many cracks that one would see with a manufactured home. They did a fantastic job fixing it. I would say to somebody to definitely check them out.

Everything was already on the lot, and the refrigerator is the only thing I customized. The builders of the home didn't do very good as far as building it and making everything fit right. The walls inside this thing and the doors are really bad. My daughter has got her bedroom light on and I cut the lights off from the living room, and I see the lights through the top of the walls from her bedroom and mine. And then, the doors are crooked as they can be. The quality of the home is poor as far as I'm concerned. If I had built it, I'd never been able to sell it. But other than that, Clayton is going to take care of the issue. So, everything has been good.

My wife had done some research and found the layout that we wanted. We went to Clayton Homes and saw Jeremy and we told him what we were looking for. He made some recommendations about the home as far as the quality and we decided to go with the Buccaneer. We sat down with him, went through the books and went through the different colors and floors, and got exactly what we were looking for. We changed the floors and the cover in the middle. There were some cabinet tops that my wife wanted. There was a desk that we didn't want, and we had them pull that out for the bookcase there, and that really came out nice. So, everything that we customized on it really came out great.

All the contractors that we used that they recommended did an outstanding job. The concrete guys came in, we had long talks with them and they showed up a couple of times before we even poured concrete under it. We got it all talked out. And then, when it came to putting the trailer there and doing all the follow-up work, Lawrence and his crew were excellent. They did everything we asked them to do and even pointed out some things we had missed.

We were all flooded out here and that's the reason why everybody went into buying new homes but they had problem after problem. But we didn't have any of that. The quality of our home is excellent. And for the few little problems that we had, Lawrence and his crew came in and jumped right on it. Clayton did an excellent job. They have done everything we've asked and they were really easy to work with. I've recommended them to several people, including my daughter, who bought a piece of property right next door to me. She'll be going there and dealing with Jeremy again to buy her new trailer over the summer.

My parents had bought a mobile home from Clayton years ago so I decided to buy my house through them, too. The process went quick. A couple of corrections had to be made once the home came in but that wasn’t Clayton's fault. I was a hundred percent satisfied with them. They were helpful, didn’t try to push me into doing anything and didn’t pressure me. They were very knowledgeable and thoroughly explained the home buying aspects more than I could’ve hoped for. As a matter of fact, I’m still in communication with them and I got a Christmas card from one of them. My family and I appreciate it.

You can move stuff in without a whole lot of trouble. And the quality of the home is looking fine to me. Everybody at Clayton Homes was also fine -- the salesman and the guy who came around who did the work. I would recommend them. The guy that we dealt with at Clayton Homes, Nate, was excellent and personable. He helped and kept us up in the loop of what we could do and couldn't do. Now, he's a manager of their Cleveland office. So, we dealt with Chase and he finished it right up. We got in almost a year ago, but one of the big hold-ups was that we previously lived in my parents' house which was on the property that Clayton put the new house on. They had to tear it down and clear the land off. Then, there was a hold-off from Real county even though it's an Anderson county with the weather as the issue.

By the time that we got it, the flooring and the backsplashes were obsolete. So, I got to pick out what I wanted for those items and the curtains that came with it. Then, the cost that could have built the front porch was a lot more than what I was willing to pay. So, we just went with the landing area in the front and had the back porch covered. We didn't want to smoke in the house so we needed something covered outside. It was cheaper to get a smaller back porch covered than have a bigger front porch covered and we’re happy with it.

Berry, the repair guy has always been here anytime we had a few little nicks and crannies. When we called Clayton, we talked to Ben, who we also appreciate along with Chase. They’ve been very helpful and great, but Berry has sometimes went way above and beyond when he comes here to take care of something. He’s been very educational on how to take care of different things and lets me know different things that we could do to keep all of our system going properly. For instance, I didn’t know how to change the back-end lot over the big tub master bathroom and he showed me how to get the little lock up and down so that next time, I could do it.

It also came with a fireplace and the house is spacious. The electric bills went down quite a bit. However, the water bill went up because now we have three bathrooms versus one bathroom. But other than that, the house is great. We love it and we're very pleased with the house. It really looked like the model that we looked at. We didn’t change anything because I fell in love with it. I have recommended them to several friends. I told my friends that Clayton Homes would work with them no matter who or what they are. Clayton tries to help everyone and fix something. They weren’t pushy like a lot of salesmen are. They explained my options and gave me time to think about it. When we decided to buy, they walked us step-by-step and we didn’t really have that much to worry about ‘cause they took care of everything. They just told us when we had to do something. Now, two of my friends are looking at Clayton Homes.

I had already looked at a lot of stuff and I don't like it when reps follow me around. But Cindy of Clayton Homes was great. There was never any question that she couldn't answer and she answered immediately. She was the only person that gave me the keys and let me just go and look, so I didn't feel pressured. That was the best thing she has done for me. I found what I wanted in less than an hour and I was very happy. I wanted two bedrooms and the thing has two bathrooms, which was very important for me. After we picked out the house, we came back the next day to buy it.

Cindy was very knowledgeable and helpful with everything, including making sure that we can't put down the property because we had some trouble with the rail but even before we realize we needed the help, she was already on top of it. She did a very good job and was very easy to get along with. Wendy was really good too. She's the lady that sends out the guys if there's something that needed to be fixed. Everyone we spoke to was really good.

We would recommend Clayton Homes to another friend. When we buy another one, we'd buy it from Cindy as well. If all reps would handle it like she did, that would be fantastic. Overall, Clayton Homes was great. They went above and beyond anything that they should have been able to do. We had problems with a part, and they stepped in and took care of it. They made everything super easy for me.

Extremely satisfied with Clayton Homes. Randi, the sales rep we worked with, was just amazing. I went in initially by myself, as my wife was out of town, and met with Randi, and she showed me what was available. When I got my wife over there a week or two later, she literally started just picking out the design and materials that she wanted. My wife selected which cabinet color, and surface, and quality she wanted. We also extended the floorplan a couple of feet on the length of the home so it made the dining room two feet longer. We also took out a closet out of the hallway and increased the master bedroom closet size. And the process seemed to flow very easily and straightforward. The knowledge of our consultant was extremely high.

We placed the order right at the end of the year. We moved in Memorial Day weekend, so the process until having it took five months. However, part of the holdup was the lot we were going on. There was a delay because of the weather and everything else in getting the lot prepped, but that was outside of Clayton's. We had a fantastic experience with it. It worked out extremely well for us and so we’d refer friends to them.

So we had to move quickly getting everything done through Clayton Homes. And they did everything we asked them to do, and went above and beyond in getting the house placed and everything done in time. I was very pleased with the way Matt handled everything and I would refer people to him. I trust him a good deal. The process was a little bit overwhelming. I didn't know what to do but everybody that was supposed to be there helped me all the way through and I appreciate them for that. There was also a lady who I spoke to about 50 times on the phone and she helped me tremendously.

I'm very happy with the home. We like everything about it. But I'm still waiting on some parts like the back door and some things that were supposed to be changed. The doors are a big thing for me because there's a crease across the back of my door and some stuff on the front of the door that they had to change too. I went through the holidays with my family coming to see my new place and it ended up that the doors are not looking right.

I'm not necessarily upset but I would like to go ahead and get that part done. I had a problem and they came this week. They sent somebody over so it's not like we haven't been in touch. It just seem like it's taking a lot longer than I thought it would. They said that all the parts, like anything they had to get for the home, had to come from Memphis where the homes are actually built so it took a couple of weeks.

I was expecting them to be like, “We can't do anything any further” because I couldn’t afford the first one that we picked out, but Candice was like, “Let me go and find something that probably could fit your price range.” She was good about it and not just giving up on me. We changed it up probably about three or four times. She was facing with me on making my decision and would call me back and check on me. She communicated pretty well.

I got a misunderstanding of something that I didn’t really know on my end though, with electricity and stuff I was supposed to take before they bring the house out. I thought maybe they would give me a heads up because it was my first time on buying. But right now, I'm getting some stuff repaired on the house. The individual I was dealing with was out for a day and the next person gladly drew out a way to help me. With all the obstacles we had, it took them nine months to get everything settled. Things were done trying to get the title of the house signed over and making sure the land was straight. I hired an attorney to do it and he wasn’t doing it. So I ended up firing him and Clayton introduced me to their attorney who took care of everything.

My wife loves the interior look and had a port built in the front. She would call and tell me when something was wrong and I would call Clayton to notify them. Then they would send someone out to take care of it. At first, we were having problems with the pull-out drawers by the refrigerator. Two of them had fallen off the bracket. They came out about three times but it has a flared-up set. Other than that, the quality's very good and I'm very pleased with it. I could also see an amazing difference with the energy savings. We wanted to go and look for land and they kept pushing for the land that we were actually getting so it could be set up. The timeframe we were given was about four to six months. And with them calling and pushing, helping us out, they sped it up and it was on the lot within two months. As far as moving in, they were on top of that too, calling the electric and the utility companies, and they got us in pretty good and they got us in fast. We've had a few small detailed issues with the home and the ground guy came and had been on top of everything. They fixed everything and they always leave our home the way that it should have been made, like the moldings or stuff that come loose that we didn’t notice through the walkthrough. They’ve excelled in keeping us happy.

They called or emailed when we couldn’t get to our phone, as per request and they followed through on that. We did a down payment and when that down payment was doing, they worked with us on little bit payment plans so we could take care of our other issues first. So, they culminated to what we needed to do and how we needed to do it at that certain time. They were always in communication. Buy at Clayton because the customer service has passed our expectations. All the way from applying, all the way to closing, they were in contact with us. And if we couldn’t get a hold of either of the utility companies they committed to helping us by getting a hold of them for us because we were looking to pushing to move earlier. The customer service is top quality, and the home is great.

We went around different places looking through a bunch of companies, and ended up with Clayton. They had what we wanted. The person I worked with was awesome and so was vice president or general manager working for them. The home buying process was quick, about three months. We had good credit and that always helped. We really like our home. There’s the cobwebs that’s got to be knocked out, but other than that we love it. I’ve been trying to get my brother to buy a home from Clayton. I told him about my experiences.

The Clayton consultant showed me stuff with the home and told me a lot about it being an energy saving home, which I liked knowing about. They treated us great when we went there, and they didn’t treat us like we were just another paycheck. There was no hassle in the home buying process, everything got done on time and the people were excellent in their attitude. I would recommend them.

We are in the process of working with Georgetown for a home. We like the one we chose but feel like we were painted into a corner, because everything we liked was turned down by the manager. Our sales guy is trying his best to accommodate what we want into our tiny amount of options. We really appreciate that he has been extremely patient and helpful.

Clayton Homes' team was really nice and I really liked them. They were good people and they bent over backwards to satisfy us on anything. I’m intelligent about mobile homes, and when I would ask one of them, Sheryl, anything, she knew the answer. She did really well. We got a good mobile home and we've been in it since May of last year. It’s a decent little mobile home for the price. It was really a good deal. It has two 16 by 16 bedrooms, a little front porch that they put on it, and it's totally electric but energy efficient. It had a few little issues, but they took care of everything. I’m happy with it.

The application process went fine. It took a good two weeks before we got in our home from signing the application. We were mainly waiting for the plumbers and electricians. The construction up here is booming and these people are backlogged. So it wasn’t their fault. They had a trailer moved out here just after I got everything signed and ready to go. And, they’ve done a good job. I'd tell my friends to check Clayton Homes out.

We had gone to Clayton originally with the idea that we were going to buy but then we had some family emergencies throughout the year. Several things had happened, so we had to postpone the home buying process. It was over a year but when we were finally ready to start it went very quickly. We worked with Chris and he answered all our questions. He was very helpful and anything that we needed to know if he couldn’t answer it right away, he would get the answer for us immediately. He’s a great salesperson. We really enjoyed working with him and we think of him as a friend now. The home however wasn’t as high quality as some of the other ones that we were looking at but we were okay with it because it was a better price. They also put in a very large shower in the master bathroom that we had asked for. I was very satisfied. They were very helpful and knowledgeable, and I would highly recommend them.

I read a lot of reviews about Clayton online and a lot of it was really negative. I was really wary at first, but with them being local, I went ahead and went with them and I've been very pleased so far. The home buying process overall was very good. Also, the consultant was awesome. Any questions I had, he answered. However, when the ground froze, my skirting board got really bad. When I called about that, the guy over the repair said that there wasn’t anything that they could do because they had contracted out that job. I was disappointed. Other than that, any kind of problem I had, they fixed right away.

The home buying at Clayton Homes has been really good. The home consultant has been a lot of help walking us through what the house is going to be like and helping us getting the layout for the purchase and all the paperwork, and setting up the appointments. She was very knowledgeable. But the process was a little lengthy -- being in the VA with everybody getting all their I’s dotted and T's crossed. We are past our six-month trial period and we’ve got enough repairs that I’m waiting for them to get back with me to have it done. When the house settles you get all these nice cracks in the foundation, above the windows and the doors. I’m waiting on them to get back with me to schedule to have somebody to come in and look at it.

Clayton Homes was the first place I went to and I liked the house. The representative I worked with was excellent and the process very smooth. The house is great although it needs some work. The floor needs to be replaced because it has a couple of spots. If I walk across the floor barefooted, I can feel the dips. The laminate also got a couple of cuts on it but I’ve already told the rep about it, and she told me that she’s waiting to hear back from the factory.

The buying process at Clayton Homes was so easy. I had never bought a house before in my life, so they explained everything to me, what was going to have to be done, what I needed to do and what they needed to do. I had to get the down payment up and then I had to have the foundation for them to bring the house in. They called and said everything looked great, and I was approved for the house I wanted. If I had a question and they didn’t know the answer, they’d go find the answer for me, which was great. It amazed me how easy it was.

There were a few things that me and my brother-in-law changed in the home. It didn’t have any ceiling fans, so we went and bought ceiling fans to put in it. There's also a great, big cupboard next to the sink with no shelf in it, so we put shelves in them. Also, I’ve been bugging Clayton about the vent for my back bedroom. Nothing comes out of it. They keep telling me they’re going to send somebody out to fix it, but nobody's been out to fix it. Other than that, I had a great experience with them.

Clayton Homes' buying process was very easy. I went to Clayton, looked at their homes and I just thought that it's what I wanted. I went there on the 28th of February, we went to the buyer's office and signed the papers. I paid cash for it and they had it for me in about five weeks. However, the guys that came out at that time were supposed to put in the septic tank. I had to go to the health department to pick up the septic tank after the guys had done their part. However, that department kept saying they didn’t have it. They were slow about putting things together. I called Clayton and told them something was wrong. In fact, a lot of people already know that I had trouble and Clayton Homes found out that the problem was on their end and they took care of it. They changed all the guys in that department and I've had a better experience since. So, I would recommend someone else to buy from Clayton Homes.

My wife and I were trying to get our own place. We heard about Clayton Homes through a friend of ours, Alex. He said it was a really good process, so we went ahead and got that started. Once they got it rolling - putting the down payment and stuff - it went really smoothly. We liked it. And they had been wonderful as far as what our warranty covers. Kenny was the consultant, but we spent a lot of time talking with Ron, too. They were both really friendly and very knowledgeable about the process. They explained everything that needed to happen, where we needed to sign, etc. If we had any questions, they were ready to answer right then and there. It's our first home together, and it's all new to us, but we know that if we have any questions or concerns, we can call Kenny or Ron and they'll be more than willing to help us out with that.

I liked Clayton's price, service and the convenience of buying a home from them. It was my first time to venture into something like that so I made some first time mistakes but everybody at Clayton was very helpful. It took four months before I got the keys to the house but a lot of that had to do with the septic system which wasn't Clayton's fault. I had a very good experience and that if that's what people are in the market for, then I would recommend them.

Sometimes when I'm shopping, I feel as if I'm being hounded or being pushed into what we wanted. We were working under a time constraint and Clayton Homes met those. We had an idea as to what we wanted. We were shown three different styles of homes and selected the one that we wanted and everything went so smoothly, not only in the office but also having the house delivered. Everybody from Clayton Homes were more than helpful and willing to listen and do what we asked. Their communication was wonderful. When we asked questions, they clearly answered and if we had an additional question, they had information that sometimes we wouldn’t even think of and they would just offer the information to make us feel much more comfortable about the entire process.

After the house was delivered and set up, we moved in and there were two times that a helper had to come out because we had creaks on the floor which they said was natural and normal. But they came out and fixed them. But what I appreciated the most was that even though Clayton Homes has a different series of large homes versus smaller homes, they didn’t force me into going to the high-end if it wasn't what I desired. It was a great experience with them and we were very pleased with everything. Being in our 60’s, with the fact that we didn’t want to take a year out of our lives to build a home before we could get into it, then this is definitely the way to go. From the time we got our property to the time the house was put on the property was three months. We have recommend them to our friends.

We went to Clayton Homes, picked out the trailer we wanted, went through the financing, and then they moved it to set it up. The consultant told us we what we needed and what to bring, and they walked us through the home. They also gave us a call if anything came up and if they needed any additional information. They kept us involved until the whole process was finished. We still have a few things that need to be worked on and I need to make a call to them. I have also referred my nephew to them already. The people are easy to work with and they have a lot of good selections and the prices are reasonable.
