Not just Whirlpool, other brands like GE, Maytag, LG, they are cheaply made in that they don't care about the consequences of ruined floors and cabinets when their equipment leaks. And, it will leak, because their RD has gone into making the thing use less water and use less energy, instead of the important stuff, like copper piping and properly threaded collar connections and water catch trays.

Dishwasher is only 2.5 years old, only used once per week, motherboard died! No way to get in contact with real person at customer service. Costing a fortune for parts and repair. Can't afford a new one. Never buying Whirlpool appliances again!

I bought my Whirlpool 1 year ago, I’ve had trouble out of it ever since. Inlet valve won’t shut off therefore water keeps pouring into the tub, it won’t put enough water into the tub to hardly get the clothes wet! I’ll never buy another one.😢😢😢😢

Bought from Lowe’s. 90 days old. Has only worked 4 times. Now I need to spend the money and time to find out why the board will not start. I remember when Whirlpool had a great product. I’m guessing a bad CEO who does not care.

My Whirlpool dishwasher went nuts after 17 months. Of course no longer under warranty. To replace control panel would cost 414.00. No way am I spending this money on repairs. The control panel goes on randomly sometimes 5 in the morning or late at night. What a waste of energy and water. Have unplugged and it is now sitting and I am doing the dishes by hand just like in the 1950's. Thanks a lot Whirlpool.

I grew up with Whirlpool appliances in my home, they lasted forever and were reliable. I went out and bought all new Whirlpool appliances for my new home, what a nightmare. Everyone of them either stopped working or had issues either immediately or within the first year. A frustrating waste of time and money. I sincerely hope they go out of business, they should be ashamed of themselves selling people garbage. I have to throw it all away and start over. STAY AWAY FROM ANY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT.

I have always considered myself a loyal Whirlpool customer and have equipped my last four homes with Whirlpool brand refrigerators, dishwashers, clothes washers, and dryers. No longer. My recent experience with their high end dishwashers has changed my mind. This dishwasher has had something wrong with it since it became 2 years old. Soap dispenser (2ea), control panel, door seal, bottom seal, gasket, drain pump, and door panel.

We've had the dishwasher less than 2 years. We just replaced the control board and now we have to replace the motor. We've spent almost $400 to fix a relatively new appliance. I would not recommend anyone purchasing a Whirlpool dishwasher.

We had our Whirlpool dishwasher for approximately 1 1/2 years and it has been absolute trash. First, the top rack broke about 1 year in, because of the cheap plastic part used to hold up the rack, so that needed to be replaced. Then, 6 months later, the bottom started leaking because of the cheap way it was put together. There is no clamp or belt to hold the pieces together. Just friction, so now that started leaking. Very cheaply made, and does not last. No longer going to buy Whirlpool appliances. They are just not well-made.

This dishwasher came with our new home purchase. 2 weeks after warranty expired. Water pump quits. Honestly this thing belongs in a landfill. Neighbor has had issues with Whirlpool fridge as well. Stay away from all Whirlpool appliances.

Absolute junk. Two years old. Broken racks. Leaking severely from bottom. Doesn’t dry dishes. Would not recommend. All I can recommend is that Whirlpool should close theirs doors and be ashamed of themselves for selling this junk.

Absolutely horrible dishwasher. Clean very poorly, malfunctions frequently, and the cheap plastic bits in the rack are constantly falling off. I've had this dishwasher for a total of about 13 months and it has been problematic for maybe 7 months. The dishwasher I had before that ran for 15 years, no problems whatsoever. I will never buy anything from Whirlpool again.

I purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher model number WDTA50SAH in 2020. I've had to replace the wheel assemblies on the upper racks of the dishwasher on both sides. Replaced because one wheel cracked and one wheel was worn out. Just recently, every time we open the door there was a scraping and a snapping sound that was becoming louder by the day. Upon closer investigation I discovered that the hinges on both sides were worn, so I purchased new hinges. After removing the old hinges I discovered that not only were the hinges severely worn on both sides, but also the pins upon which they rest and ride were almost completely worn through. This caused the door to ride lower than designed and scrape on the stainless steel bottom pan each time the door was opened.

Remodeling my kitchen led me to purchase all new Whirlpool appliances. Although I had multiple service calls regarding the refrigerator, this complaint is regarding the dishwasher. I utilized the dishwasher two times and now the motor does not even turn on. There is sure power but… nothing. For the price I can afford just two uses. Whirlpool has been summoned to fix or replace this appliance. Mr. **, CEO, has been given notice. Overall, although Whirlpool appliances may have eye-appeal, I would not recommend them.

On 05/19/2024 purchased a dishwasher M#: WDT970SAKV S#: FD1301120 from Lowe’s Home Center Raleigh NC. On 06/17/2024 delivered and installed. On 11/11/2024 the Console/Panel started returning weird error codes. Called Whirlpool to get the dishwasher repaired under the warranty. This is when I found out that our warranty started on the Date of Purchase, not the Date of Install. So the first month of the warranty covered it sitting in Whirlpool warehouse, shipping company and Lowe’s warehouse. We lost a month off the warranty. On 11/19/2024 Ed ** with Convenient Appliance Service Inc. unfortunately he couldn’t repair the dishwasher because Whirlpool did not enter the specific problem information into the work order. On 12/06/2024 Ed ** with Convenient Appliance Service Inc. repaired the dishwasher. Again, we lost another month off the warranty.

I bought a new whirlpool dishwasher from Lowe's that is still under warranty. The dishwasher works but the stainless outer door is rusting in 3 different seams. WHIRPOOL says it's a cosmetic problem and is not covered by the warranty. It's obviously a manufacturing defect issue like some of the other posts on this site. Funny thing is I have 2 other stainless appliances that match microwave and range/oven in the same kitchen from Whirlpool that are older and are out of warranty with no defects. DO NOT BUY a Whirlpool as they don't honor their warranty contract. Next step for me I'm going to court to sue them for breach of contract. Whirlpool is a BAD company that doesn't stand behind their products. Don't buy from them.

Whirlpool dishwasher cheaply made. Door handle not sturdy. Now is not even working code E2F2 or vice-versa. Repair cost half the price of a brand new dishwasher. I would not recommend it to anyone that wants a quality appliance.

New home and contractor provided the appliances. Dishwasher is Whirlpool WDT53IHAPM 0. Probably the most ill designed and awful dishwasher since the a rubbing board. The door, if even minisculely opened crashes to the floor. I you try to slide out the lower drawer it keeps on trucking and ends up on the floor with dishes scattered everywhere. What an incredible ripoff. Wouldn't even burden Habitat for Humanity with this piece of junk.

The worst decision I ever made was getting this dishwasher. It has no eco-friendly options which means I’m paying so much for water and electricity because their quick option is even one hour and the heavy option is eight hours. The normal option is around four hours and it doesn’t dry and The specific model is in the pictures below it doesn’t clean well.

I have a 3-year-old dishwasher that is rusting in multiple areas and leaks so badly we have to place a beach towel under the dishwasher to run it! Whirlpool reps keep telling me this is satisfactory and I should not expect replacement since there is no extended warranty. I am 53 years old. I know that stainless steel is not supposed to rust. I have had multiple dishwashers that were 15-20 years old and they never rusted. My appliance technician says this is a manufacturing flaw and he has NEVER SEEN THIS and he has been repairing appliances for 40 years. At this point I am becoming irate with the treatment I have received from Whirlpool. The last person I spoke with was Nicole **. She offered 25% discount on a new dishwasher. That is not satisfactory. She told me that "No one here will help you." Can you help me?

Fingerprint Resistant Quiet Dishwasher with Boost Cycle Model: WDT540HAMZ: it broke down 11 months after purchasing it brand-new. It has now broken down again at the 12 month mark. I will never buy another one.

Whirlpool Dishwasher giving problems with 18 months 2 visits by their technician and still issue unresolved. Customer service is very unprofessional and they're not even offering to change the dishwasher. Very disappointed still waiting for repair and it's over 2 weeks without any confirmation.

The dishwasher is junk. Bought it 4 years ago. Have had numerous service calls. First, due to broken cheap plastic rollers on top rack. Then cheap plastic soap dispenser changed. Then piece de resistance... Leaking. Have had 4 different repair people. The floorboards are damaged, there's black mold inside the dishwasher and obviously the dishes are not clean. Have to take out filter every second wash as it's full of grime. Have stopped using it and now hand washing dishes. Hand washing is better for our health. Never buying any products from Whirlpool again.

The dishwasher ran great and did the job, but once the control panel no longer operated (because of a cheap plastic protective design) the dishwasher was rendered useless. Another control panel protection will be installed but the individual installing it admitted that the same thing will most likely happen again due to moisture and high temps.

We purchased this dishwasher just over a year ago. As soon as the warranty ran out, the rollers on the upper rack broke. They were made with cheap plastic. We had to spend $70 on replacement parts which are made of metal. And so, if Whirlpool knows that the replacement needs to be metal - why not recall all of their faulty original? You could have gained loyalty support from your customers if you just mailed out these replacement parts or recalled all of the defective dishwashers. Now you get 1 star and I'll never purchase another appliance from your unreliable company who puts profits over customer satisfaction!!!!

Purchased 12/10/2022. The whole control panel went dead 1/14/2024. This constitutes a service call to find out which is bad or both control panels. Will end up costing more than the dishwasher. DON'T BUY.

Do not buy any dishwashers from Kitchenaid/Whirlpool. The pump motor broke after less than 6 uses. We missed the warranty date by a week because we only use the dishwasher on holidays! To replace the pump motor (part, service fees, and labor) we will have to pay more than cost of dishwasher! Their service person told me it should not have broken that quickly - faulty dishwasher! I was on phone and they were absolutely unwilling to help out with cost to repair their faulty item. Trash dishwasher- cheap and no customer service skills!

In first 45 days since purchased new have had the motor and pump replaced twice and broke again. After 3 motor failures Whirlpool still will not replace. Made over 12 calls to customer service. They want to have another service appointment to work with a master tech on the phone in December 60 days from purchase date. Supposed to be handled by district manager. If they fix it with more replaced parts why should I be paying price for new item when it will be a refurbished dishwasher and they used my kitchen as a repair shop. If not fixed in December, I will file a lawsuit in small claims court. Whirlpool does not stand behind their products.

Does a very poor job washing dishes even with proper water temperature and pressure. Have tried many brands of dishwasher soap including the recommendation. ALWAYS have to manually wash dishes first so not worth it. WORST dishwasher I have ever owned!

Cheaply made junk - lots of plastic parts and clips. The rack adjuster has broke 3 times. There’s never support available and it’s difficult to fix. I will never buy Whirlpool again and advise you to do the same.
