I do a lot of work in Buckhead and different areas seem to have a Viking equipment. It’s something that I liked, the looks and the quality, so I pursued it on my own and bought the equipment. Upscale equipment has always been nice. It doesn’t matter what company, everybody is going to have a problem at some point. But having Viking distributor just about a mile away works out good for me. However, the door on the freezer and door on the refrigerator does not match. The finish on the door is totally different from the cooler. Otherwise, it’s a superb product. I got a good feedback on it so it’s a great and nice looking product with the exception of just a few hiccups. My favorite feature is the dual-fuel oven. Overall, I’m happy with the product and my wife is enjoying it. My brother’s purchasing an equipment too so I’ll surely get him into it as well.

I was online looking for a dual-range stove, dual-fuel, and I came across Viking. I know people have them and are very happy with them so I went with them too. The quality was great and I love it. The biggest thing that sold me on the Viking was the burners, just being able to turn them on without having to program anything. That was one of the big features. And I have cats, so they walk on top of the stove. Most stove controls are on top but the quality of the Viking, the BTUs, the way it cooks and everything, it’s great and I really enjoy it. It has been a great experience.

We built and had a bunch of work done, and we bought five Viking Ranges. Everything was shipped good and there was no damage to anything when we brought them in. The quality of the ranges is great. We’ve got three floors and we’ve got two kitchens on each floor, so they pretty much do what a normal household would. We do breakfast, lunch and dinner inside of our kitchens. Right now, we’re having issue with a burner and we’ve already put in a service call for it so we’re waiting for them to come out and look at it. Other than that, everything that we’ve dealt with so far has been great and customer service has been good. We’ve had them since we started the renovation a little over a year ago. They get used and abused, and they’re holding up great.

I've built a few houses myself and somewhat custom kitchens in them, and I've known about Viking Ranges for years. I always liked the Viking product and the experience purchasing online was very good. Before I shopped, I went on the website and navigated through it, looking at what features they had and what I was interested in with respect to packages that were available. I bought the package which includes the refrigerator, a range, a dishwasher and an icemaker. After that, I was directed towards where I purchased. The supplier did a very good job of walking me through my options and my rebate options, which was something I hadn’t thought of, and it saved me some good money. I'm putting a new kitchen in and the range is not up and running yet, but I have plugged it in. I love the LED lights that are displayed on the front, so that was really cool. I have a Wolfe upstairs in my kitchen and it doesn’t have the features this one has.

We like the look of the Viking professional series, but there are some reliability issues. We’ve had two service calls in just over a year which made me a little concerned. The first service call happened when the unit didn’t have a fan, so it was overheating, and the thermostat kept cutting off and shutting down the stove oven. Then the second time was when the control panel that drove the gas valve for the main oven and the igniter for the broiler both acted up. We were unable to use the main oven for about three weeks. They had to get some parts, then came back, and fixed the issues.

We have an induction stovetop on top of a regular electric range from Viking. The stovetop stopped working on one side and it took us a while to be able to get service in here. We started with the local authorized repair guy, and it took a little while for that to happen. He came over and tried fixing it and it didn’t work. And he decided we needed a replacement part, which took a while to get. We put that replacement part there and then it didn’t work. During that time, as this was going over a few months, the other side stopped working. And it became an issue of “We can’t get the part you need because Viking tells us that they no longer make that part.” We were told that this range has been discontinued, which makes sense because induction has improved over the past years. But for some reason, Viking doesn't distribute replacement parts for this particular induction range, which means that we’re just a pain.
So, the service people told us to connect with Viking ‘cause they had been trying to connect with Viking and they weren’t getting answers. They thought it would be better to come from us. So, we’ve been in the process for a month, sending emails, not getting responses and trading calls. With the calls, we’ve never gotten to the point where we’d actually tell them, “Here’s our problem. How are you gonna fix it?” We spoke with a rep one time and he told us we had to register the product. It sounded like they would give us some sort of coupon, but we’re wondering if maybe they can’t just replace the whole top. We want this repaired or we want money for its replacing it, but they’re being very slow. We don’t feel like we’re being serviced.
We have a $7,000 gorgeous range, and we bought a single burner sitting on top of it and that’s what we use to cook things on the stovetop. We can’t afford to buy another $7,000 oven and it’s the showpiece of the kitchen. Even if the reality is that this range can’t be repaired, they need to return our calls. It’s hard to call them ‘cause it’s always a voicemail, and we leave a voicemail and nobody responds. An email doesn’t seem to work. We wouldn’t recommend Viking products to anyone and we wouldn’t recommend the people to anyone else.

Viking is a brand that has been around for a while and when I was remodeling my kitchen, I looked for information mainly through web searches. Then I went to see the unit better on their showroom. I purchased the range at Pacific Sales and the experience was good. I went in knowing more about the product than they did for the most part. But I do a lot of research before I purchase something so that was a pretty common experience.
The build quality is very solid and the performance is top-notch. My favorite feature is the elevation burners. But the enamel was chipping off from the interior of the oven. It was a year before the chip started getting bigger and more noticeable and I didn’t know if it would affect the longevity of the range. I thought they would come in and just repair it. But they said they actually had to replace the entire unit. And when I called in the warranty, they had to send over three different ranges before I got one that wasn’t damaged upon arrival, which I thought was really strange for a brand with a name like Viking.
A range that costs as much as a Viking Range should not have a manufacturing defect like that. I’ve had cheaper ranges that didn’t have similar problems. But in spite of the minor issues, Viking stood behind their products and that's what I really appreciate with Viking. I also have a Viking Range hood and the switch was coming loose so I called and they sent someone out right away to repair it. They were very courteous and prompt. Overall, I’m happy with the Viking range.

I heard better reviews on Viking from people that have had them, and I wanted to go in the direction of a range like this only because less bells and whistles means less to break. The quality is good. The door handle wouldn't open one time and the rep that came to do the repair was excellent. He was on time and it was easy to make the appointment. They were very good and professional. I also like that they took care of the problem quickly. Plus it was covered under warranty.

We bought a Jenn-Air package. And our Jenn-Air range was leaking gas for several years, and they couldn’t seem to figure out how to stop it from leaking gas. So, I had them take it back and give me a credit. And the store manager recommended Viking as a replacement, and so I went with his recommendation. And that’s how I ended up with Viking.
I love my Viking range. However, I feel like the oven takes too long to warm up. It’s a lot slower than the Jenn-Air one was. The Jenn-Air had some neat features that the Viking doesn’t have like it had a timer associated with it. It had a couple of different technological bonuses. But as far as the way it cooks and the way it looks, Viking’s great.

Wolf and Viking were our go-to brands and Viking Range's price point was better than Wolf. The Viking dealer we bought it from was more of a challenge. We had a damaged Viking hood that we had to get replaced and I know the product was non-Viking. We got a fourth trim kit before it was not dented out of the box. If I didn't go in there and follow up all the time, I wouldn't have it. They could have answered emails or returned phone calls. And I was very disappointed that we spent like $38,000 of them. But we eventually got it all resolved four months later.
It's the best oven we've ever owned. When you cook meat in it, everything just comes out so much better. It's easier to cook them to temp. We cooked one of those Tomahawk steaks for the first time and it came out just like in a restaurant. It was amazing. My wife likes the gas grills because before we've had all kinds of high-end electric ovens over the years and they were okay but not like this oven.

My Viking range has been a good investment so far for me. We've had it since last summer and it's a great range. I like it a lot. It’s very efficient and the oven heats really quick. It’s solid too. I like the fact that it’s like a commercial range, so it gets really hot. But when you put it on the low setting, it’s not very low ‘cause it’s got pretty big burners. The only thing that’s odd is when I’m closing the oven door the enamel is chipping off of it ‘cause there’s this piece that sticks out. Otherwise, the quality is good.

This is the 2nd time since owning my Viking range that I've experienced TERRIBLE service - the first time was when the range was brand new - it took months to get a new door. And now 2-1/2 yrs later the door has fallen apart AGAIN - service call started on 1/3/2018 - Service came out to assess the issue on 1/8/2018 - and NOTHING SINCE - I've called on 1/11/2018 and 2/13/2018 both times never getting a call back with a status as promised. I must say that for what this range cost I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in the quality and the companies that provide service for Viking products. I owned other brands of ranges over the past 20 years and never once needed service.

I also spoke with them over the phone and the representative was nice. She gave me the information but I needed to log in an email and send the details, and that was actually done for me. I’d recommend Viking. When I went into the website I saw so many other products they have too.

Do not buy Viking Appliances! Our stove and refrigerator have both needed service of major parts from day one. Viking customer service was helpful with my stove with 3 issues in the last 5 years. Now our refrigerator doesn't work. No repair place will work on Viking and guarantee parts. Reaching out to Viking for a certified Viking repair place, it's taken 6 days with follow-up every day on my part for them to finally refer me to a company that wants $200 just to come out to look for the first 1/2 hour and charging additional per half hour. This does not include repairs or parts. If it takes a second trip, I pay another $200 trip charge. Viking has such poor products and you the customer will be paying for it with your time, money, and inconvenience... Very disappointed.

I walked into a Viking store here in New York but I eventually bought my range online from Frederickson’s Appliances because they had great valuable pricing. I also heard that there were very good reviews for Viking. If you're not willing to commit to very good prices to buy Sub-Zero and Wolf, you can get a product that is at par and for way less money. I really like it. It's sturdy, solid and good-looking. But all the fires in my 30-inch range have the same size and they're pretty powerful. So if I want to use something that is small, sometimes it can burn my pans. At least one of them could have been a different-sized fire. That is something that I didn’t notice when I bought it and that is the one thing that I would change. A technician also came back this weekend because the oven doesn’t regulate itself. I think it's the thermostat but they're calling me to schedule a second appointment some time soon. Other than that, I'm pretty happy.

I have always heard about Viking Ranges and always wanted one. We remodeled our whole house, so we got all new appliances. We did some research and Viking Range was really out of my cost range but I found one at Best Buy that was being discontinued and it was locked down and so we got it. I chose Viking because I liked the look of it. I wanted a dual fuel and I liked the look of the cooktop and I particularly like the self-cleaning range. I was also looking at a KitchenAid but when I dug deeper, I found that it wasn't self-cleaning and Viking Range appeared to be. I haven't cleaned it yet. We used to have just a cooktop and a separate oven and I wanted both of those combined together. Other ranges were far away from the actual burner itself and I really wanted one that was closer. I really like the shelf, pulling it in and out and Viking was very smooth in that. So, we decided to go with a Viking Range.
However, the quality is not so good. We bought it in October off the showroom floor. They sat here for over a month and then they installed it and it didn't work. The gas cooktop worked but the electric oven did not work. Since we bought it at Best Buy through Pacific Sales and we signed up for their Geek Squad offer or the five-year plan, we called them and someone came out the next day. They told us that the motherboard was fried. So, they said I have to order another one. So, we waited and waited and finally, they ordered the part, the part came and the guy who came to install it said, "Oh, this is the wrong part. This is not what we ordered." So at that point, this was in January, I was fed up with them because both who came had no good things to say about Viking.
We started questioning if we made the right decision. Maybe we loved the way it looks, but if I have problems with it, then this is not the range for us. So, we went to Best Buy and Pacific Sales, and we talked to them and they were very nice about it. They asked if we want our money refunded or if we want to pick out another one instead. I selected the KitchenAid that I wasn't going to get the first time. And in the meantime, they gave me the name of the Viking dealer in Dallas area that provides some support for that kind of thing and told us, "Call them directly and see what they can do. And if they get it fixed and you want to use it, use it until your other one comes in." So, the KitchenAid was back ordered and it was just supposed to be delivered last Thursday.
The guy came out from the other place and he worked on the Viking range and he said, "Well, I think it's just the power supply that's bad on it. Let me get a part for it." So, he ordered a part, he came out and it was just the power supply. He fixed it and got it up and running and that's been a couple of weeks ago. Now, it's up and running and I love it. The guy who fixed it recommended that we should call Viking and get an extended warranty from them. I did but Viking doesn't offer an extended warranty. Also, there's a lot of things in there and I have not used but I did not get anything with it that tells you not to do or how to convert or any of that. I got to figure that out. I have conventional kitchen instructions and I wanted it to convert it to convection but I don't know how that's going to work yet.
We bought an extended warranty with Best Buy or Pacific Sales because it does have a material warranty on it. So, I'm going to call the people who can fix it for two years and then we go back to Best Buy for the last three years. I haven't used all the functionality on there but I love what I've used, which is bake and I've used the cooktop and the grill on the cooktop. If I had purchased it from someone else who knew more about Viking, I might have had a different experience. I don't know how long they studied Viking. But when I called the Viking repair people directly, they said not everyone's authorized to make changes. If you're going to buy something off the floor, it should work, and you should have people who are authorized to fix come out and work on it. And whoever comes out, since you spent a ton of money on it, you want someone to confirm that you made the right decision and not bad mouth what you had.

I have owned a Viking range oven, microwave and refrigerator for over two years. Although I did not purchase them I was very excited when we found out they would be included with the purchase of the house. Since then I have been less than impressed. The refrigerator constantly leaks from the bottom of the pullout freezer. I have taken it apart myself and had multiple repairmen look at it to no avail. It has ruined my wood floors and constantly has to have a towel placed under it to soak up water.
My oven was working ok for longer however now the fan constantly runs. Regardless of what mode it's in (including when it's off.) This has made my kitchen a very noisy place. I have yet to take a part and diagnose this issue. Lastly my microwave constantly blows fuses. The clock is too hard to see on the small screen and when it does work it is very inconsistent.
To add insult to injury, the cost of fixing any of these issues by certified Viking suppliers is absolutely outrageous! For the time being we are dealing with what we have until we can save money to replace each product in the kitchen. I am very disappointed and would not recommend this company to ANYONE! Buyer beware.

We were re-doing our kitchen and wanted to go with the latest and greatest. We liked Viking's reputation and some of our friends have Viking appliances as well. My whole experience started off with one dealer. When I went in there, I gave them a deposit but I ended up canceling that because the woman that I was dealing with didn’t know the product line at all. So, I didn’t feel comfortable with that. So, knowing what I wanted, I then reached out to a dealer on Long Island and everything at that point was done across the phone.
And the girl that I dealt with did an excellent job for us. So we purchased the 48-in range, the dishwasher and below the counter microwave. And I was really happy with that as far as the coordination and delivery of the equipment. I’ve also spoken to Viking directly done in Mississippi a couple of times and they were helpful. I had a couple of questions and in the middle of everything, there was a model change going on. called them and said "all right, tell me the differences between what I had ordered and what I’m going to receive" and they did a good job of explaining the difference there.
When I had the issue with the dented panel on the dishwasher, they turned it over to a third-party and I was hoping that they could address the issue sooner than later, but it was a smaller organization. So, I had to wait a couple of weeks before I could get them out to the house but when they came, they were spot on and did an excellent job. So, while I had to wait longer than I would have liked, I was happy with what they did.
It was interesting because one of my friends has not had a good experience with Viking around the range and parts. But I didn’t allow that to bother me because I don’t know how much of it was them or how much of it was Viking. There are always two sides to every story. So, even hearing the horror stories that they had to tell, I am pleased with what we did and I’d be happy to recommend Viking to anyone so far.

We had a problem with our Viking range. I was working on the phone all morning and it took me a long time to get to the right person. I spoke with 5 different people to finally get to where I needed to get to. And then, they finally set up a visit from the Viking representative. Somebody came out to take a look at the range but nobody seemed to know what was going on with it. We had gas filled up in our propane right before the issue started. So I thought maybe it was the gas line coming into the house, and sure enough, it was that and not the range. They thought it was the thermostat. Unfortunately, we haven't registered the range so it was not under warranty and we ended up paying $700 for the part. We registered it after. It's working fine since then. My advice, get the electric oven and not a gas oven, and be aware that it’s not a self-cleaning oven.

When we bought our house, it had a Thermador stove range and it started to die this year. It was 20 years old and the parts were unavailable anymore and Thermador wouldn't give us anything to help us out to replace it. So we got a Viking range and we have it for a month now. We like that the cooking temperature in the oven is accurate, and that it's a professional size. It has six burners which is great on holidays. During the week, I just keep a griddle on the middle too. But for holidays, it's perfect for doing all that cooking. The Viking range is made well and they're made to last, unlike the newer ovens that are out there that last four or five years, and then you have to replace them.
We got the range from Gerhard's and the guy that we worked with was nice but he didn't have a really good knowledge of all the brands. When the installation guys unpacked the range and put it in, I asked where was the backsplash and they told me that I had to order it extra as it didn't come with this model. I would have bought it initially with the range if I had known that it didn’t come with any backsplash because it comes flat with just a small bump in the back for the heat distribution from the oven. So the guy at the store wasn't a great salesman. We bought a dishwasher from them previously and their installers were terrible, so I was a little leery of going back. But they're a local company that has been in business for generations. The installers for this range were much nicer than the installer for the dishwasher. So, they did a much better job. But overall, Viking is a wonderful range and I'd definitely recommend them to a friend.

The rep from Viking fixed the lights that we had on the front of the oven by messing with some of the wiring. However, the convection engine was running really fast but he wasn’t quite sure what they needed. So, he went to find out what was going on and should get back with us but I have not heard back from him. We need it fixed.

I won't go into detail about the problems with the 2012 range, suffice to say Viking replaced it with a new model, 2017. This induction range is a dream. I love it. The oven preheats silently in less than 10 minutes, it holds a even temperature. The cooktop burners are responsive and they all work! No loud humming. The new range seems like an ongoing miracle in my kitchen. So happy with all aspects of it... and it is beautiful!

The Viking Company was fine to deal with but the service availability in our area is terrible. The major company that services Viking refused to book a service call because they were too busy with their regular customers. Then the alternate company was three states away and ended up also refusing to book a service call because they said they didn't do service calls anymore. Finally they got a local company to come out and that company was actually very good but it just took a lot of time and stress to get them out. We love the Viking products but the company should find better and more options for service technicians in our state.

I have several friends that have Viking products, and they've always been very pleased. I spoke with the reps at Best Buy, and what was impressive was that they go to training where they cook and sear steaks to see the power of the different models that they sold. So they had first hand knowledge of what we were looking for. Also, the warranty was always easy and the techs would fix things. Plus the quality of the products was long lasting. The heat in my Viking range is very steady and the Power Plus range of the burner is excellent. I've always had gas ranges but the oven is always electric. This is the first time I've had a gas oven, and it makes a loud boom every once in a while when it turns on. I've tried calling them a few times and I haven't been able to get a hold of anybody. It's very difficult to get somebody on the phone. I just want to make sure that the sound is normal and it's not going to explode in the future.

My daughter-in-law has a Viking Range and I know that it performs well compared to other company. I love its very accurate cooking, the jets are very powerful and water boils quite quickly. I'm just happy with the overall performance. Plus the Viking dealer was very thorough. They're just very straightforward and honest about things. They showed a lot of attention when I was there shopping and trying to find that information. Delivery was on time, everything was installed properly and the range itself performed very well.

I was looking for a new range and I saw the Viking Range in the store and I really liked the look of it. We have known the owners of the store for a really long time and it was also the best brand that they sold. There are a couple of things that I was disappointed with like the front panel looked like it wasn’t finished correctly. It looked like it was almost rusty. But they ordered a new panel for that. And the first time I used it there was steam and something got in between the glass so they feel that the seal on the oven door wasn’t really correct and they ordered a new glass for the door.
So we had a couple of issues but it’s my first experience with a gas range and I really like it so far. They are taking care of the issues so I’m pleased. Those things can happen to any range but I really like the gas burners. I really like the little LED lights underneath that shine over the knobs and I just really love the overall appearance of the whole thing. I love the grates -- they’re very heavy and heavy duty and quality looking. And I think the soft closing door is really nice.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are happy to hear how much you love your range.

I've always wanted Viking appliances and I got a really good deal. I did it through AJ Madison. It was a package, so I got the fridge, the range, the hood, and the dishwasher. The range is beautiful. I haven't gotten to using it, but I'm very excited. I love everything. It really fits my house. It looks like everything is really good quality. AJ Madison was pretty good on the Viking products. However, they had a convicted felon deliver my products and steal my stove. AJ Madison and the freight company they subcontracted out to didn't do background checks and they hired a felon. He unloaded my stove before he delivered it to my house and tried to tell me that he delivered it and didn't know where it went. But AJ Madison made it right.

We had a really bad experience with our Viking range but it has been fixed. We bought it from a discount store and it’s technically new, but it had been sitting in the store for two or three years. So, when we had it delivered, it had a gas leak. And we spent almost three weeks without being able to use it because we were trying to figure out what happened. Finally, we found a company that could fix it, but then it took eight days for them to receive the part. So, we had to order food for three weeks. I will never buy from a discount store ever again. I guess they buy from Viking when the boxes have been damaged. We got a really good price with it, but it was a really bad experience.

My Viking range is a well-made product and it looks great. And while it's kind of shocking how heavy it is, everything is working great on it. I really like the induction in terms of speeding and also, it is fairly quick at heating things up and turning things fast. So, it's nice and seems to be a little bit cleaner in terms of the heating element and keeping the top clean. The only thing is I can't see where there's a built-in timer in there. Luckily, I have the microwave over the oven, so I'm able to use a timer on top of the range. But if I didn't have the microwave, it'd be more of an issue.

I’m an architect so I’m familiar with Viking Ranges through my profession. They had a promotion where they’re offering a free dishwasher with the range and that kind of sealed the deal. In terms of the quality of construction and the materials it weighs almost 400 pounds. My only issue was the control knob on the oven. Even though it’s a very sturdy unit the shaft that held that onto the actual control was made out of cast metal. I just thought personally it was a poor choice of materials but they are fixing it under warranty. It’s actually done through Viking and one of their local representatives.
When I had the warranty issue I contacted Viking directly in Mississippi and they were responsive and they had the issue resolved in a day. They scheduled something within the day. I’m just currently waiting for the replacement part and then it’s going to be installed. I would recommend Viking Ranges. It's a high end appliance but I think it’s worth the investment.

I purchased a 48-inch built-in Viking refrigerator and I thought it was going to be nice to match the manufacturer of the refrigerator, range, and dishwasher. But ever since the Best Buy people brought the appliances, I’ve been having issues with them. Their delivery, installation, and the product itself. I don’t think that whoever delivered these products were qualified to do this job. Nothing was level and regardless if the unit itself is broken or not, they should at least try to level it. And the range was the floor model and the door was not rocking. So, the installer was telling us that it was broken. The door itself tends to get rust so I should’ve never bought the floor model.
With the refrigerator, the first delivery people and the installer took about four hours to fit the door together to close it right. Two days after they left, the door was not closing. And when you open the door all the way, it made a loud metal hitting noise. I’m very dissatisfied. I went to Best Buy and they have decided to replace the refrigerator with a brand-new one and I made a return on the Viking Range floor model. I purchased the brand-new one by paying the differences and hopefully, with this replacement I don’t get any problem.

The dealer was good but I don't know why the referred me to this service company that’s way out in BF, Michigan when their service company is closer. It left a lot to be desired on the scheduling. But I was able to get the dealer to actually send somebody else that fixed it. Although it took them four weeks to get it operational after I purchased.

I like the efficiency and design of the Viking range's burners up on the cooktop. I've had two ranges over the years, and overall, the quality is good. I've bought other ranges to try to save money, but they didn't measure up. So, when I was able to afford it, I bought my second Viking and I use it every day. And it's wonderful. We just had a repair done under warranty to the current one that we have. It was an igniter, but it got totally handled for everything, and now it's back in action. It took two weeks to get the part but the person who came to do the repair did a great job.

The quality of the Viking Range is fine. However, the oven doesn’t cook evenly. It’s also very small. The square footage inside of the oven is very small compared to my old GE, in my old apartment that I loved. It’s cooking thoroughly but it's not even. So, if I’m going to bake cookies, I have to turn the tray around to get the back. Moreover, the knobs to turn on the oven and the stove get very, very, very hot when the oven is on. But the door closes fine. There’s nothing wrong with the unit. But I probably wouldn't buy it again. On the other hand, I had to call and have the Viking people come out a couple of weeks ago and they were really helpful. And then, the check was even lovelier, so their customer service is great.

Worst is that no one can seem to fix the thermostat for the electric oven on dual fuel range. The thermostat has been replaced multiple times, by different repair outfits (including the one recommended by Viking) and it failed last night, again, within 30 minutes of being used for the first time.

My husband is a cook and he has known about Viking Ranges for many years. He knew the brand, the reputation and that's the one he wanted. My husband likes the burners and that’s why he chose the particular model we got for the consistency with heating up. But I had issues with it already and so I had it repaired. Three out of six of the knobs were not turning properly. I had a gentleman come in and he repaired them. He gave me a quick little tutorial, which I'm already very familiar with and so far so good now.
I purchased this back in December and I'm still waiting for the probe that I was promised to get. I have yet to receive that. I'm a little disappointed in being told it would be two to three weeks and I'm still waiting on it. It's like people say one thing and then once the sale is done they forget about you. That’s my biggest complaint. If you spend that much money on an item they shouldn’t forget about the customer service part.
But everything else was fine. So far I'm very happy. But they're expensive so you really need to know what you're getting and is it worth the expense to what you're going to be using it for. If you find that you would rate it to what you're going to be needing it for and the quality then I would recommend it. Otherwise I would say, “Don’t spend the money if you're just going to cook basic.”

When we bought a house seven years ago, the builder had a Viking range in the house and I fell in love with it. We got flooded in August of last year so we lost everything. In my mind, it was only going to be replaced with either that or Thermador or one of those. So we went back to the store and then I looked online. I also went to their a showroom here in Houston in the gallery area and I fell in love with it again. I bought the exact same open-box range rather than a newer version because it just made sense for me. It's the dual where the ovens are electrical and then the top is gas. I love it. But when it was delivered to me, the knobs were all sticking out and they were not like that at the store. So I don’t know if it was in the process of getting to my house in the delivery process.
I called Viking and they called their authorized dealer to come and repair it. They came right away and they told me they would take about a week or two to get in contact with Viking to get this thing fixed. That was right after Thanksgiving and I thought that by Christmas I would have it but I never heard from the folks. It was close to Christmas and I called them but there was no answer. So I texted the tech and he said that they were asking for the serial number and that without it, they won’t really send anything. It was the second or third week of January and I wasn’t at home when it got fixed. I came back home and two of the knobs were still loose. So I called the gentleman again and I had to stay in contact with him for another four weeks before it all got fixed.
Their customer service was great and it’s not their fault but it's terrible whoever their authorized dealers are. I hope Viking has another authorized dealer because if I ever need that stove to be serviced, I cannot go through that and chase that guy around. It was a very bad experience but I love my range and I love how it cooks. It cooks really fast, it’s very efficient, and the oven cooks evenly.

I'm a previous owner of a Viking range and I've always had them. I actually wanted a Wolf, because I've had a Wolf too, and it works a little bit better for me than Viking but I went with the Viking because I wanted a white stove and Wolf doesn’t make a white one. I did a whole house remodel and bought $70,000 worth of appliances from an appliance store that’s a Viking dealer. I had a very good experience there and everyone has been great.
However, I'm very disappointed with the Viking range and they’ve already changed it for me once. Tim from Viking has been incredibly generous and he offered to give me the new stove. It came but one of the ovens is not working again and they're trying to change some parts now. The ovens don’t get calibrated and they don’t seal, which was the problem with my last stove, and they try to fix it multiple times. The new one needs to have major amounts of repairs on them again and I'm hoping they can actually get it right. I love the look of it, but I've had nothing but grief. Still, I would like Viking to know that I do appreciate how well they’ve handled all the problems with it. At least they’ve been very honorable about keeping their word on trying to make things right.
The stove is $15,000, big, and a dual convection 60 inches. And I also don’t understand why it stains so easily. I wish I knew a better way of keeping it clean. I use my stove every single day, multiple times a day, and I'm a neat freak. When they picked up the last stove, there were these stains and some splattering that went into the black part under the actual surface. If I don’t wipe it immediately, it gets glued on. When I got the new stove, I cleaned it immediately, but the towel I was using to clean left a mark on the actual caps of the stove. So it's a Catch-22 where I want to clean up but then I really can't because it leaves a different kind of mark. I would love to have someone call me and let me know how to take care of it the proper way because the rep doesn’t know either.

We liked the looks and functionality of Viking but the quality is not so good. A couple clickers went out almost immediately, the ones that’s lighting the fire itself. Since my remodeling still going on and we have to call warranty and for the range of this price, this should be better. Some materials that are used for burners make it really impossible to clean including the griddle. But my favorite feature is how much room it has on the top.
I bought the blower, the range, the microwave, the dishwasher and the refrigerator from Best Buy so, it’s pretty close to a $30,000 on the Viking products. But I could not get my products delivered. I paid for Everything was paid for and they got me a few items delivered. But the freezer was scratched and there's no one to talk to. That guy who was taking care of me at Best Buy left.
Stove was nowhere to be found. I called the store and left messages, nobody answered. The people on the phone promised me to call me back all the time.
Finally, I went into the store. They told me to stop by the following week and I did that again because I can’t get anybody on the phone every time I call. I tried to get on some guy, they looked for it, then three days after that, they finally delivered the range. It showed it was backordered, tracked it down that they arrived in Denver three weeks ago and it was sitting in a warehouse somewhere. It was a horrible experience.
Think thrice because there’s Sub-Zero brand that is totally competitive and just go with them, that’s all [unclear 0:06:54] makes no sense to spend 50 grand with this kind of service or this kind of follow-up.

I previously owned a Viking when we remodeled my kitchen. I really liked the product, but not this time around. Everything that we've ordered, there's been something wrong with it. It took us six to eight months just to receive the product because it was on back order. And then when we received it, it was damaged. We had to deal with the company we bought it from going back and forth, and it took another four months to get the replacement. They kept pushing the buck. I kept getting transferred, making calls and I wouldn’t get a callback. It was poor customer service.
I love the older Viking, but I don't like the new one. It's not the same quality. My old range was great to cook on and bake on. The one I have now sometimes turns on, and sometimes it doesn't. Also, my refrigerator has been down since before Christmas and the parts have not come. I had to throw all my groceries away. So, I've had nothing but bad luck. I just finished talking to Viking yesterday to find out how soon I can get my stuff, and the gal was very nice and helpful. And she's pushing things forward, so I really appreciate that. But I would not recommend Viking.

I own a Viking range and I use them for customers. When I built a new home, they were clearing out at the Ferguson showroom and there was a Viking and a Thermador. The Thermador was under warranty in a matter of a year and that was good. It was a 48-inch, it went through bolts and boards, and it went through the heating element. So it went through a lot and to me, that was not great. Its convection also had a huge loud sound and I didn't like that at all.
On the other hand, the Viking was very quiet and I really liked it a lot better. So I gave it a shot and purchased it online. I could have gone through the dealer in Salt Lake, but I would have had to pay taxes. If I had to do it again, though, I'd probably go with the dealer that's close because I had to return one item and it has been a real pain. At first, they told me that they were not going to take the part back. But it was still in the box and we couldn't install the back part because there wasn't enough room. And we didn't know that until we got the back part. Then, they said they would take it back, but I had to ship it back and it was a double package so it would cost $75 to ship it. It also took forever for them to acknowledge they got it and when they said they have issued the credit, I still hadn't seen it.
Overall, I love Viking and its various simmers. It's a beautiful stove and it works great. It's also functional and very effective. It's commercial great, too, so it's worth the money. But I really wanted to get certain features and to get them, I had to keep upgrading. Then, when we moved, I had to downgrade to a 30-inch. So, that was hard when I had the nice, big double ovens. They should also make the colored ones cheaper so I could get the beautiful cobalt blue or the red one. I love the easy glide over rack as well and I want to know where to purchase it.

I like the durability, functionality, and ease of use of Viking ranges. We went to a Pacific Sales store very close to us. And my wife and I loved the 8-burners. We bought a Viking range and a few other Vikings such as microwave, dishwasher, and the hood. However, Pacific Sales screwed up the sales and they were not knowledgeable at all. There were delays in the delivery, and then when they scheduled it to come, we had to call multiple times. At one time, they delivered it to the wrong address, too, and the credit card that they charged was another issue. So, Viking really should check to see how Pacific Sales sell because of the experience.
We finally got our purchase and we installed it, and I have nothing but good things to say about the look, the layout, the design, and the functionality. I love the burners and I love to cook. If I want to put something, I get a good enough heat in there, and that stuff is very good. I also like the traditional knobs. With the other companies, you really have to guess which knob to turn which burner on. The Viking is designed so well. I'm very pleased with it. And now I'm dealing with the rebate, which I'm dealing directly with Viking. I sent them all the receipts to work on my rebates and I haven't heard anything back from them yet. Also, when I call for the customer support, there was a lack of knowledge. Our favorite feature is the burners and we have five burners now that we’ve actually all been able to use.
The sales guy at the Viking dealer was great and did no pressure. He has very high professionalism and knowledge for the product. He totally helped us out and then we looked and told him that we would look somewhere else and get another quote. It was no problem with him so we went and looked at another Viking range somewhere else. I went with Viking for their style and quality. However, the quality of the range that I bought from them is mediocre for what I paid. It cost $5,000 and it’s not really living up to it. The door is loose. It hasn’t worked properly and it's slow to start sometimes. I had tried to rectify the door myself a few times and Viking did come out to rectify it. I called Viking and it was pretty good. I complained about the door and they were nice. But the dealers at Karl’s Appliance wasn’t so great. They’re sort of flakier. But I like the five burners. It’s the 30-inch stove. It fits the space. Those who come to my apartment love looking at it. They’re jealous. But that wasn’t what we were going for. We wanted a big stove/oven. It's the wider range, it's freestanding. It gives you more capacity inside. It has three racks as opposed to just two.
It would be better if Viking could extend the warranty. Mine’s good for like three years allegedly. And now, it's only a year-long from what I hear which is sort of silly. Mine hit the cut-off date unless the seller offers included the warranty. My LG washer has a 10-year warranty. And it’s expensive to install and what have you. The result is expensive. This one is a $5,000 range and then, two, it’s expensive to just connect it and reconnect it with the new ones. Moreover, it would be better for it to have heat-resistant handles. When you’re cooking at a high temperature for a while, the knobs near the top front of the top of the space get really, really hot and they’re not supposed to. And the door is not supposed to get that hot, either. For instance, if you're cooking turkey for a long time. It takes three hours and it gets hot. They should work on that and get that fixed.

There should have been one service call, but there was a miscommunication between my husband and me, and I didn’t tell him to tell the techs the first time about the other issues. The techs were here the day before, but they still need to come back to install the new door. Viking Ranges has been great. We use our Viking range everyday and it has been doing its job.

I’m not happy at all with the microwave and refrigerator. The refrigerator has caused us problems such as freezing things. I had the maintenance guy come out five times and we had to get extra parts, but it’s still not fixed. This has been going on since August when we moved in and it’s now the end of January. So we’ve been dealing with this for six months off and on. We would like a brand-new fridge but I don’t know if Viking is going to do it. There still the one-year warranty. The only thing I was really happy with is the stove. The oven has been okay but it doesn’t heat up very quickly.

I love Viking but the range that I got have been serviced already because of the ovens. The sensors on the temperature controls were popping off and now, it doesn’t hold a constant temperature. It constantly clicks all the time and re-lights. I'd have to call back in on it again and get it fixed. But for the most of it, it's been okay.
But I wasn't too happy with the salesperson from the Viking dealer. When you spend $20,000 with somebody for your appliances in your kitchen, you would think you'd get a little faster response out of people. I've left messages with him for over a week and never been contacted back. Also, the appliances at the house weren’t installed properly. I had to call back on that.
Also, I went by the details that Viking put out for the measurements on building cabinets and your measurement. If I built one to those measurements, wherein on the top side, behind the LED instrument panel was a little bracket that was screwed in to protect the controls and that little notch out was an inch high by 10-inches across, and there was no way I could put the microwave in that opening. It still got to be notched out that inch by 12-inches to get it in there. It's a mis-drawing on the diagram. Viking needs to look at those details and make sure everything's correct 'cause the installers wanted to knock out my stalls on the cabinet. But my cabinets weren't screwed and nailed. Mine were dowels and biscuits cut together and glued. If he had knocked that stall out of that cabinet, he would have ruined that cabinet.

Our first Viking range had some problems. I had it for 14 years but then it really started falling apart and the range border underneath fell off. We had to replace all the plugs and all of the tubes that run the gas through it. There was a lot of things that were falling apart that I thought wouldn’t happen with the name brand but they did. Then, we bought the second Viking range at Ferguson and they were really great there. We looked at different models and different brands and it was a good experience. I like the stovetop burners on my current range but we're having problems with this new one and I'm waiting for the guy from the west side of the Washington State. He had to go and order a new thermostat and we're waiting for him to call and let us know when he’ll be back to install it. It's been a little over a week and it's not really an unreasonable amount of time. Things happen but they're a good quality range.

Our daughter owns a remodeling company in Indianapolis and she made us aware of Viking Ranges for the line she sells. We've had it since 2012 and the quality was fine. We like all the features of the unit especially the glass cooktop. But one of the cooking panels went out a year ago and we had to have that replaced. The cost of the part was over a thousand dollars, which was ridiculous. But the Viking salesman gave us a 25% discount on the part which we appreciated because we have all Viking appliances in our kitchen. And then it turned out our range was under warranty so we didn't have to pay for it, which was even better. So far, we're very happy with our Viking range.

I know of Viking Ranges as being a good brand. I like the combination of its style and size and its durability and simplicity. I didn’t want something with a lot of electric controls and my range seemed like their basic gas, almost commercial style gas. It has a big oven with a big range top and I like its clean lines, stainless steel finish that it looks like a professional range, commercial style oven. I bought it through PC Richards and their reps were good. They were incredibly knowledgeable.
However, I’m a little disappointed because the oven broke about four months ago. The hinges on the door just stopped closing the door completely, I had no idea why. Also, I cannot turn the flame down low enough. There’s a lot of BTUs. They’ve now referred my range to their service department and it has taken awhile to order pieces. It has been a very long process and it is still waiting for a repair. I can still use the range though. Overall, my experience was generally very, very positive.

Viking is the better brand and I give it a high rating. I like everything about my stove and it is very nice -- premium stoves do not have a lot of push button screen on them as those are problems and they are not made for heat. I had a premium brand once and I threw it out as I did not want to fix it again. So I bought a Viking. Visually, it is nice, including its knobs and color. Initially, when I did my research, I did not even know where they are from as I thought they were manufactured overseas. But when I went to purchase it and I started doing more research, I found out that they are all over New York. Anytime I go to a restaurant, they have Viking stoves, and those stoves are here forever! It will be the last stove you ever own.

Before the start of our home construction, we asked our developer what appliances they're going to have. They mentioned they were going to do a Viking Range. I did a bit of research and I thought the Viking would be sufficient. However, we were concerned with the first problem that we had. We had the range on August 28 and we noticed around Thanksgiving that the pilot light struggles into lighting when the oven would go out. It would make a lot of clicking sounds, and surely thereafter, it went out. Unfortunately, we didn’t fill out the warranty certificate at that time. We just moved into our new home.
So immediately, we filled out the warranty and called Viking and their customer service team was extremely helpful. Their rep immediately put in the claim to the local service vendor. But the local service vendor was really, really slow. One, their availability to even come out here and look at the range, and then from that moment they identified the problem, they said they needed a new part and we didn’t hear anything from them for a week. We called back to ask the status of the new part, and they said that it’s still in order. At that point, I called Viking and asked if they can help and they expedited the process on their end. It took about a month and a half to get our range from the time it went out to the time that it was operational again. I did not fault Viking because they were very responsive. It was the local service provider's which resulted in the delays. Overall, Viking is a good quality and very durable appliance.

Viking has top quality and I love it. Also, it’s simple to use. I had a LG previously and it had all the million different settings and bells and whistles, but I never used any. I also had a LG refrigerator that was a lemon and it stopped working after about a year and a half, and the dealer was really difficult to work with. But every call that I made to Viking so far has been answered right away and they’ve been very helpful. I called them once to get the correct model numbers for the product registration and then I also did two follow-up calls to the parts department because my 1-year old slammed into the freezer and dented it. So, I had to order the freezer door. And it was really easy to do. I would highly recommend them.

I saw Viking Ranges a few times and I liked the quality that it provided and how everything was cast-iron, durable. I like to cook so I told my wife if we’re going to upgrade the kitchen, I’m going to go all-out and get the stove that I want. Something that blended a little bit and had that commercial, restaurant look, and Viking was definitely a factor and their warranty was a big reason too. It is what I was looking for. I also looked at some of the higher-end products but I thought of just getting the one that I want with a higher quality. I got the 30” Series 5 and I like its broiling infrared feature. I also bought a range hood for the top. I already told my wife that if we sell the house, they’re either going to have to pay cash for the appliances or they’re coming with me.
I went through Elite Appliance and the shipping was free and the delivery was on time. They had it tracked for me. I got a good deal on my 5 Series. So, I was really happy with them. I would definitely recommend Viking Ranges to whoever is upgrading their house. I know it’s hard. People don’t want to spend that kind of money on a stove. My wife still thinks I’m crazy, but every time somebody comes over, it’s the wow-factor. They walk in and say, “Wow, it’s a beautiful stove.” It makes the kitchen almost like a chef-style kitchen and that’s what I like about it.

We like the Viking range because of its style and how it fits with our cabinets. It was ultimately the better fit for what we were trying to get. I compared it to the Thermador and the Thermador had a smaller range for the same price. With the Viking, I can control the stove top of the gas burners, which is nice. It also fits into our kitchen wall. I use it every day and so far it has performed very well.
However, we've had a couple of service issues with it. The first was the door did not close all the way. It was not aligned properly, so we couldn't get full closure. The other thing was the steel would pop when we turned the oven on. We've already had service calls to come out for the range within the first 12 months. They were able to resolve the door issue, which apparently was a shipping thing. We still have the metal popping but we learned how to fix that. Also, customer service has been good. I had a lot of issues with the dealer, and by the time I got to Viking, the gentleman I spoke with was very compassionate and had a lot of empathy. He cheered me up and did everything he could to help in our situation.

Only gave 4 stars because it’s difficult to clean and oven rack placement could be a little better. There is very limited spacing between the three racks. Additionally, the center rack that has the bearings in it is rather difficult to remove and then replace. I’ve been impressed by all of the functions that I’ve used so far on this oven.

I'm an interior designer, so I've used Viking ranges a few times in houses that I've designed the kitchens and built. I bought my range at Ferguson and got a good deal on it. I love my range. It is of good quality, has high heat output and all the grates are very heavy. It's a little difficult to clean though. Also, it is more of a commercial level, and it's a little difficult to learn how to cook on it.
The ovens are very hard to get a hang of because there's a drop-down broiler heating element in the top of both of the oven units. If you don't position your racks right, you will burn everything. If you get them too low, then you burn it from the bottom, because you're too close to the bottom element. I used the manual to figure out the configuration of the oven racks. Once they stopped burning things and figured out the positioning of the racks to cook what I do on a daily basis, it was a little better. Right now, I have some little issues with it and I have a service coming out tomorrow. It's not preheating right, and the fans for the convection of the large oven sounds like a motorcycle when it comes on.

We wanted a good range and Viking had a good reputation. However, it was not a good experience. We were not given full information about the internal cooling fan, which was not only loud, but it didn’t just cool down and then shut off. Through our entire dinner, we heard the fan going on and off. Another other issue was that the burners all fluttered and made noise. We had our propane company come out and check the pressure of our propane and everything was fine. But we couldn’t get it to simmer without it going out and we couldn’t get it on high, even the highest flame without it fluttering. It never worked properly. We have good people here in the area who came out with an additional set of burners, but it never got fixed. So, we were completely disenamored of Viking altogether.

The house we purchased had a Viking Range and it was un-repairable according to our insurance so they said, “Replace it,” and we decided we want to keep the same. The one we had before was a four-burner and we replaced it with a five-burner. But my wife wants me to call on it for service now because the guy who installed it said to do a deep cleaning right away. So we did for like two and a half hours and after that every time we turn the oven on the fan has a weird noise it didn’t have before.
Before everything was nice and quiet. We could hear the fan coming on exhausting the oven. And then after we did the deep clean -- the high temperature clean, now it sounds like the fan is hitting something. When we installed it the place I bought it at said that they would be putting in something like anti-tip or something to the oven so if someone stands on the door the oven won't tip over. But they did not put that in.
We also ran across some problem when we were trying to fix the original stove. The cleaning function would not work on it and the burners wouldn’t fire up every time. We had to use an igniter. But I had maybe four different people out here to look at it and said, “No, we don’t do this Viking.” They won't do it. That had scared my mother a little because we were remodeling her apartment and she was thinking of getting Viking but we're not too sure now because it's difficult to find service for them. It's like a restaurant style range and I loved the way it looked as well as the capacity inside. So, I got it.
It's also marked up at a reasonable price and so far, I had a good experience using it at home. I love how it heats up everything so fast and the knobs are good to work with. But I get confused once I use the conventional or the bake. I don't know what the difference is or how it works. I'm not chef type person and I've been Googling that to try to figure out what's the difference between that and the regular bake. The grills are heavy duty, too, which is good. My wife has always wanted to get a Viking or a Wolf wall oven at first. We had been to the design studio in New York and the salesperson at the appliance store invited us and took us there. We saw GE gave a bunch of stuff, but we hit all the floors, and we saw Viking. I like the number of burners and that the front burners are the hot ones because those are the ones we use mostly. I also like the center ones with the elongated grate. My wife likes the Viking oven. She likes to bake and everything. However, when she was cleaning the cast iron grate, the two little front rubber pads underneath to keep them leveled popped off. So now, when she goes to clean it, she has to put those little rubber dots back in the indentation and put the grate back on.
She called for it, and Viking couldn’t find the serial number. We got the oven and the microwave and we thought we registered the microwave, but we never got around to registering the oven. While she was still talking to the rep, I went ahead and registered and got the serial number put it on out there. I asked her to call them back. They’ve been pretty helpful. We've called them if we had a problem, and they’ve kind of directed us where to go. I have also been on the Viking website and I could find products and all the documentation there.

I like Viking Ranges' look but the glass in the oven range door is loose so whenever you clean it, it slides. And I uncovered that one of the burners is actually shaped differently than the other five. I’ve emailed Viking support about it a week or so ago and I haven’t heard back from them yet. I was really just going for the pure industrial range. With the Wolf, we didn’t like the big red handles. I know they offered us black. The Jenn-Air, I didn’t like that it had a digital clock on it. I just wanted that basic, industrial look. And that’s essentially why we ended up with the Viking. I would assume that the Wolf and the Jenn-Air probably have better features. And from what I read online, they don’t have many company issues in the past. But the look drove everything, unfortunately.
Also, their dealer always had to contact the Viking sales rep but he's very slow to reply and promised things that never happened. He said he did stuff when he didn’t. It was all pushed back. I'd suggest a new sales rep from Viking. From what I’ve also heard, there are not very many companies that service Viking. They were having to call a company out of Illinois, which kept saying that they were scheduled and coming and would never show. And then, they finally found Mr. Appliance based out of Indianapolis that had an employee that used to work for Viking that now works for them. So, they are indeed servicing Viking equipment now.
My range is over a year old, so I don’t think I’m under any type of warranty. I did speak to a Viking rep on the phone about the burner. And I don’t know if she was saying that she was going to send somebody to put one in, or if they were just going to send me the part and I had to figure out what to do with it from there. So, I’m not really sure how all that works. I’d probably need to read that warranty a little bit longer. I know there’s a five-year on different types of parts and a one year on something else. So, hopefully, that’s obviously covered since it’s a manufacturer's defect that they put the wrong burner on. The burner cap has little legs on the side of it. The burner is rounded at the top. It doesn’t have a lid like all the other five so the cap doesn’t stay put. You’re not really ever touching it, but whenever you pull it off to clean it, you just to have to position it where it sits. I love the way that they look but they were just a lot of trouble.

But when the guy came out, he showed me what I was doing wrong. And so, right now, I like the range. However, it's ridiculous that they have a Viking product through Best Buy.
It was three days before Thanksgiving when the installer was to put the range into my kitchen and I noticed that my range wasn't the right range. The specs that I gave them was from the guy at Best Buy. It was the correct specs but that guy ordered the wrong range. And so, Best Buy lucked out because it could have been a disaster with the guy that was remodeling my kitchen because he put in new cabinets. I would suggest that if Viking is going to continue to use Best Buy, they should train their people to benefit Viking because Viking is a really wonderful product. But the Best Buy people in Buford have lied. They wind up doing me right towards the end but two of their employees lied about it and I have no tolerance for that. They told us that it was just the way it was made. So, when we went with Viking again, they told us that their refrigerators are designed differently now, so we shouldn’t run into the same issues that we had. So, we went with a larger version of the same fridge.
We also got an oven range, but it has a little issue with the way it was set up. So, I had the general manager from Main call me, and it sounded like he knew what the issue was. He said that it was something in the way it got set up, and they should be able to fix it. So, they’re coming to fix that. I also like the way the racks inside the oven slide nicely. The sales rep was friendly. But after the purchase was made my husband had a few questions, and they weren’t so quick to talk to him or call him back like they were before the purchase.
Also, I find it odd that it doesn’t have a self-cleaning oven. When I turn the burners on they don’t always ignite and burn evenly the way I would expect them to. I do the baking and seeing that it’s Christmas, I’ve been making cookies that I can only bake in the middle rack. It’s funny because in all the advertisements they show a door opens full of all kinds of goodies on all three levels, and I can’t cook that way. I have the middle rack and that’s it. Anything on top or bottom burns. And they’re not removable racks, except for the middle one. The top and the bottom are on roller slide, that’s why they move so easily. I can’t just pull it out and move it up or down.

We’ve had Viking for years and that's the reason we got them the second time. We like the stove for the way it’s set up. The refrigerator’s open a lot and the temperatures on it have always stayed the same unless it’s real hot out. The new one has got the LEDs in it, which is nice. The doors in it are a little bit nicer than the old ones we had. We bought the items over the internet and it was real good. At this day and age, it seems like most of the time you buy something, it’s good for three years, and it goes to hell on you. We try to buy quality, and it shows. Viking has been a good product. The stainless steel is nice. The only thing we didn’t have last time was a dishwasher. This time we bought one. My wife had used the dishwasher once and it worked good. It’s real quiet.

We appreciate your comments and are extremely excited to hear how much you love your Viking appliances.

A condominium I bought in California many years ago already had a Viking installed. It was brand new and it had one of the big double ovens with the six things on top and the grill. The gas burners are very efficient, very powerful and I love them. However, we're now in our second home in Washington state, and we found out that most of the dealers here have quit carrying Viking. They said it was very difficult to get service up here, so I'm a little concerned that I made the choice. I didn't realize they were closing it out when I got this last range. I've had four ranges, and I've been happy with them. I had trouble with a couple of things on the range I bought in California in my condominium, including the modernized clock it had on it, but I always got service out and they took care of it. So far I've had a really good experience with Viking and they were good.

I had a Viking cooktop before and last August, I had a Viking Range installed. Since I didn’t want all the electronics that most ranges have and wanted to keep it simple and fewer things to break, I went with Viking and it seemed to meet that need. I had a very good experience with the company where I got the range from and they were very helpful. I feel good about the quality of the range. I wish the oven was a little deeper but having the convection part, I love the depths of the oven. The range is working well and is easy to use, and a lot of my friends have Vikings too.

The Viking range is the best product. I like that it has 5 burners. That's a lot of stovetop and cooking space in a 30-inch range. I purchased it unseen from a warehouse in Brooklyn, and it was fantastic. I'd buy another one if I needed one next week.

The Viking Range fit all of the requirements that I had. It's a professional range and has a 36-inch all-gas oven. But I've had a lot of issues with the range. I had to have the ignition switch replaced about a week after it was installed because the oven would not light. And now I'm waiting for them to come and replace the burner in the oven because it won't stay lit. It was installed in the middle of September and it hasn't functioned properly since.
But the dealer has been helpful as far as sending someone out to repair it. The Viking rep called and was very pleasant. He offered to come out and do a free demonstration whenever the unit is functioning properly. They're supposed to come out and replace the burner. Hopefully after that he can come out and show me some features of the oven.

I wouldn't recommend Viking Ranges. We got it because of the brand reputation and the style. However, we have an oven that takes about 45 to 50 minutes to preheat to 350. We called Viking Ranges and they told us who to call. Then when we called the people out here in Los Angeles who are the authorized service reps, the rep thought it was normal. The second time we called was when the rep was really informative and checked with the service tech. She confirmed that it is normal to take that long for the oven to preheat. I went right to the stores. I wish someone would confirm that sounds too long. It seems like there would be way too many complaints to get away with that. We rarely use it but aside from the oven, the range also has a range top which is great.

My brother does kitchen remodels and installs appliances and I used to install Viking Ranges with him. As I've seen those ranges coming out of the boxes and see them perform I said to myself that when I do my own kitchen I'm going to get one. I've installed some of the KitchenAid ones and I always went back to the quality of Viking. Our dealer held our oven for us until it was ready for delivery for almost three weeks which I was appreciative of. The installation was done by Jose and it went smoothly. He advised us where we had to put the level of the gas line for that particular model.
I like the condensing fan in the oven when I’m baking at two different levels. It rotates the heat. Another thing is the burners are strong at high and I can adjust it to where I need it to be. There was a manufacturer defect though. On the bottom part of the oven there was a scratch all the way to the rear. I didn't notice it until I was cleaning it about three months later which is over the warranty period already. But this defect is more aesthetic than performance and the oven is still running great. My wife who doesn’t know anything about a Viking Range is totally convinced that we made the right choice. She was leery about $3900 for a range but now when she uses it she can see the difference in the way it cooks versus regular stoves. I'd recommend Viking to a friend anytime.

I’ve known about Viking Ranges for 40 years because of their good stove. They're more cost-effective and a lot easier to get your hands on than a Wolf. They're the Porsche of stoves compared to a Chevy. The reps were great and I like the gas control of the Viking range. The only issue I have is when I turn the oven on, the exterior skin metal nearly doesn't make a pop after it gets to be about 300 degrees of expansion. If you like to cook, a Viking range is what you need.

My husband and I are both good cooks and I wanted a Viking Range ever since they became available commercially. It was about the same price as its competitors but it's the one I always dreamed of having. I wanted a six burner and the one I received from Viking is incredible. I love it. My old range was a Kitchenaid and with it, I couldn't run the burners on top and the oven at the same time. I would get a power failure and at that time, that was allegedly a good range. So I wanted something that was not going to crap out on me.
We just had Thanksgiving and with the Viking Range, I had at least five burners going in the oven and everything was perfect. But when I purchased it from a retail store, it was a mess. I had complaints and they kept not wanting to put me through Viking. They kept telling me that Viking wouldn't do anything about it because the oven's got to have many things wrong with it. They also kept saying they could repair it and when we were down to the 6th thing that needed to be repaired, finally they sent the email with my complaints to Viking. Once Viking got involved, I had a new stove within two weeks. And because the range and the refrigerator are only separated by a small-ish cabinet, I also told them that when the refrigerator came in, it had a big bash on the side. Again, I had a new one in five days. So the people at Viking were incredibly responsive and based on my experience, we should watch out for the retail outfit that we get our Viking products from.

We were remodeling our apartment and we discussed what we wanted. The rep directed us to Viking and he talked highly of it. Plus, the delivery was fine for the range but the backguard took four months to arrive since it was back ordered. They installed the range without the backguard. The range is great and it better be for that kind of money. My wife likes the high BTU on all of them. I’d recommend Viking if someone’s interested in non-digital but most people are interested in digital.

I needed some burners that delivered high heat and Viking supposedly has very good burners. And now that I have the range, I can attest to the fact that that’s true. I bought it through an appliance retailer and they were fine, but I had an issue with one of the four burner fans. It was chipped so I complained and it took almost two months to get a replacement which was a little too long. I even had to send multiple e-mails and calls before it got resolved. Also, some elements of the design can be improved. There are little cracks where they put together the top of the stove next to the burners and if something gets into them, it’s very hard to clean. It will be better to have one single section instead of having two. The oven door of my range seems to be not very smooth in operation and requires more of a yank. But other than that, I like the low simmer and I've been happy with everything else.

I've known of Viking's brand reputation for 20 years and although I was looking at a few others, Viking had a better price point for entry. However, the dealer didn't set expectations of timeline for delivery very well and the project was contingent on that so we could build countertops and finished cabinets. It had taken a couple of months to deliver the products, which was longer than the three to five weeks reported on their website. It forced us to live somewhere else for a couple of months so that was not good and we wouldn't do that again for sure.
Afterwards, we wanted some minor adjustments done so we called and had somebody sent out right away. A lot of times, that's undervalued because I could have voided the warranty if I had a local repair shop come and fix it. But Viking made all the final adjustments and that's a huge benefit of the product. It's the best takeaway so far as that service aspect and after using the range for four months, the quality seems great too.

I've had Viking before so I got them again when I moved into a new home and I went to replace the appliances. The quality has been good. But I moved into a condo in Florida and they don’t allow gas so I got the induction. It’s different for me because it’s an induction and before I’ve always had gas. The rep was helpful the first time I went in and helped me select the product. But when I had some questions and went back, it was like they didn’t have time for us. They did it twice. She was doing something else and she was dealing with some other customers.
I got the Viking professional range and I thought I was getting the Viking professional microwave. I didn’t realize until after they had installed it in that it was Viking and not the Viking professional. There was nothing I can do about it but I was disappointed in that because I was trying to get matching appliances. But overall, I’ve been very pleased with Viking.

We liked the look of the Viking Ranges. We also liked the multiple burners and the size of the double oven. We knew what we wanted as we shopped, and we picked Viking out. We've had a couple of problems, though, but it is covered by warranty because we built the house. We had to have it completely replaced once, because the main oven door wouldn't close and seal. The original dealer stopped carrying Viking, so we ended up having to get the replacement from another dealer. Because it was an all-new construction, the builder handled finding the other dealer, and he contacted them. They quoted all the same appliances and everything was smooth. The pricing wasn’t any different. It was just a matter of waiting for construction completion, and everything was here when we moved in. It didn't hold up construction.
With the replacement, though, the two oven doors don't align. There’s an uneven gap, so it looks like something's crooked. But they're coming next week to try to get that fixed. We're hoping that it's some adjustment that they can make and not another problem. Another thing is that it has all large burners. There's nothing smaller for just a small pot to simmer something, so I’m always dealing with a larger wider diameter pot. But it’s a nice product, so far. They've been accommodating with the issues that we've had, so I would recommend it.

I tried doing it on their website, and the people that come up when I put in the zip code do not do Viking's work so it’s not a good thing and it needs to be addressed.
I finally found one that works on Viking ranges and made an appointment on a Monday for them to come on a Thursday. On Wednesday night, they called and said that they no longer do their warranty work either. I waited at least three weeks to get somebody to come. The customer service rep found somebody to come finally, and he came this morning. He has to replace the two fan motors and the knobs were on the wrong ones for the oven which made the oven not to come on. It's still not resolved, and he said the parts could take up to two weeks to get. Although the range doesn’t have as many features as the other ranges on the market, it feels solid and commercial. Plus, it provides consistent burning. However, it lacks the innovation that other products on the market have. I'm hoping for more functions, like a timer. It even took me time to realize that you have to set the oven's temperature and wait for the light to turn off so you know it's at the right temperature.
It's not as convenient as my previous GE profile range. The GE didn't look as nice but it had a feature that tells the oven's current temperature, a timer, and more. The hood generates so much noise that I feel like I'm next to a jet engine. I need to call them about that, but the customer portal is pretty poorly defined. We purchased our first Viking from Fergusons and they had to take the stove back because somebody on the assembly line didn’t put the installation which was supposed to be there. The Viking team had to totally remove the stove and bring us a different one, and that was the first and only negative experience that we had. Then we moved to Arizona and when we got there, we had a stove top, so we ended up selling the stove. When we moved back to Atlanta, we wanted to get another stove, and my wife wanted to buy a Wolf. She already ordered the Wolf but I canceled the order because the Wolf stove look was like four little red dots and didn’t have any character or personality on the front of it. Its performance may have been comparable or even better than the Viking but I didn’t like its bland look, so I decided to get another Viking.
The people that delivered it this year were very professional. They bolted it down the way they were supposed to and they took their time and did everything right. I don’t remember them bolting down the first one that we got. I just remember them sliding it in and they never put that secure bracket on the back, which they did this time. That safety bracket was supposed to be there because that’s a very heavy stove that may fall over. I love the quality as well as the performance and style of the Viking range. The rep from the Viking dealership was really helpful. He pulled out the range and showed us the gas line and how it was going to be installed. Viking is supposed to be a really good range as far as reputation, but mine doesn't work. I turn it on, it reaches temp, the fan comes on and then it stops lighting. It just slowly winds down and stops, so a repairman came out and he's going to replace the computer board on it. He seemed like he knew what he was talking about and I expect that everything is going to turn out just fine after he gets that repair done. But first, the board has to come in and then he'll call me to reschedule, which should be within two weeks.
The elevation burners are pretty cool and they have a constant slow simmer. I'm still happy with the range because some things not working could happen sometimes. I'm a little more mellow than some people and I'm not angry about it. The range came with a two-year full warranty and so far, everything has been covered. Luckily this year, I'm having Thanksgiving at my daughter's house so I don't need the stove done before that day. Now, if I had family coming in, I'd probably be sweating about now and ordering turkeys in from someplace. I'm good and I can wait for the perfect oven.

I bought the Viking range. I thought they actually could be sturdier or more solid than they actually are. Also, when you buy the products within the instruction manual, you get that piece of paper that you’re going to fill in and send back to Viking. It’s for the warranty so it gets registered. Four of them came back, return to sender, which I found very strange that they were preprinted Viking pieces of paper. All you have to do is put your name and address in front of them and put in the mail, and yet they all came back.
I didn't call because I figured, I bought them from Pacific Sales and they had the information regarding them, so the warranty would be through them. I didn’t really think twice about it. And then, I managed to register some of them online, but then, I think two of the products weren’t even online to be able to register, which I thought was a little strange too. I've always liked the look of Viking Ranges, just seeing them in many other homes I knew that's what I wanted to purchase. Mine has double ovens which I like. It's three years old, and it looks great however I'm still dealing with the gas leak. But overall I like their appliances and I have a kitchen full of Viking.

I have the old Viking Professional series range and I really like that the oven is hot and the burner is very strong. I also use the broiler a lot for cooking. The power of the stove is very important to me. I changed the old one because the fire doesn't start anymore. I chose a different series since I wanted to have a five-burner, however, it is not as good as the old one. I can't believe Viking used rubber for some of the parts and it melted and fell off, even though it's only been two months. I called the dealer and they ordered the parts for me. Hopefully, it will go back in. Right now, the grate wobbles since there's no rubber underneath to prevent it from scratching.
The materials used for making the grate is cast-iron material which is very hard to clean. Anything that touches it leaves marks. Also, after cooking, there's a fan to cool off, but it goes on for a very long time. Next is that the oven takes much longer to cook. If I'm making a chicken for one hour, I have to add 10 more minutes and it doesn't reach the temperature that it promised. Another is the knobs. They're metal so they turn very hot and burn me. Also, the print for the temperature and the off and on came off from the rubber. I have had the old range for 10 years, but I have never seen such bad quality printing. It doesn't look like it has been properly done. Hopefully, these knobs will last better. There are a lot of flaws with this series and since it's a stove, I can't return it. But if people are looking for temperature similar to a strong fire on a stove, then this Viking range is good.

I was looking for an industrial stove that had large burners and Viking Ranges was in the front of a Pacific Sales store. I had done some research on Consumer Reports and found that some of the issues that used to plague the stove were taken care of. We've only had the range for about six to eight weeks and I like the elevated burners. However, there were a few different issues. One of the burners seems to take a little bit longer to light up, and that's recent. For the last couple of weeks, that burner sometimes didn't light up right away and I could smell some gas, but it's intermittent. The Viking people did a good job and they convinced us that the whole collection was going to work for us.

We’ve been told that Viking is one of the best in that price range and this is our second Viking range so it has excellent quality. Now, I have six burners as opposed to four. Our new stand-alone stove has stainless steel knobs but our old built-in electric stove has black knobs. I wanted to match the knobs but Viking doesn't offer the option to change the black ones with stainless steel. It’s frustrating that the older models and the newer models can’t mesh together. But aside from that, I had another part replaced and it was very easy.

The reps influenced us in a way to buy the Viking versus any other. I wanted to go to Miele, but I would have to pay for transportation and for installment. Viking Ranges was quite a good deal at that time and I could get the dishwasher for free. We bought some extended warranty and I thought I could negotiate it and I think it was cut a bit too much. It was my fault though. Other than that, Viking range is an excellent product and we had a very good experience. I like the simplicity of Viking ranges. I had one with all those lights and buttons and electronic stuff and I wasn’t happy.

We purchased a gas stove and a microwave convection oven for above it a year ago. We had a disturbing trend with the microwave. Once in a blue moon, it makes noises like it wants to blow up. When we hit the microwave, it makes these sparking noises like there's an electrical circuit shortage and then it stops, then it keeps working. But for a second and a half, it gives us a heart attack.
We had a service guy come out who is a certified Viking repair guy for Western Monmouth County in New Jersey. He told us in essence that sometimes particles of dirt get into the grates on the inside and they pop away when we first turn the thing on. I've never heard of that before in my life and it makes my wife afraid to use it. We had it happen when it was empty, when it had a potato in it and with a paper plate with something on it. He said it's normal, which if it is, then there's a design problem since we've had microwaves for 40 years and never ever had that happen. But other than that, we love the stove, especially in terms of its BTU, its ability to heat up quickly and cool down quickly. It's been just fine that way, so we're very happy with that.

I like Viking Ranges and the new management at Viking Ranges generally. This is my second stove and I spent probably $35,000 on Viking equipment in the last 10 years. However, I have a two-oven version stove that I paid $17,000 for and it’s about two years old, and I called about getting some service because the small oven doesn’t work. I live in Crosslake, Minnesota and granted it’s out of the woods, the company that I bought the stove from in Minneapolis, Warners’ Stellian, implied that they would service it. I’m very disappointed with them because they won’t service it.
There is a company that sells them in a place called Walker, Minnesota, and they had a guy that would service it. I called him up and he said he doesn’t like to work on Viking stoves anymore. He loves Viking stoves but every time he works on them, he can’t get a part. The parts dealers either send him the wrong parts or don’t send them. I told him I'll worry about the parts and for him to come and tell me what’s wrong with the oven.
I called Viking and I wasn’t very pleasant after about three people, and I finally got to somebody by the name of Kenneth. He called the service place and told them to come out and look at my stove and Viking will pay for it under warranty like they should. The tech came over right away, looked at the stove and said there’s a wire bond and it looks like the burner is bad. This was three weeks ago. He said he sent Viking the part and haven’t heard anything from them. He said he told them to ship it to me because then it would come and he knows that it's here then he’ll come and put the part in. But nobody has called me from Viking and it’s getting a little long.
I called Viking and after shucking and jiving around about four people, I finally got a hold of Keith and he said they can’t get the part in three weeks. Thursday of last week and I said I want to hear in the next two days when the delivery would happen but I have not. So I’m going to wait until Wednesday and I’m going to call back again. You spend $17,000 on a a high-end stove, you would expect they could fix it and would have people that they could contact to fix it. If nothing else, they could make a deal with Sears that’s got people all over, and then send one of their guys to school to fix it because I know I’m not the only one that owns a Viking range in this area. My attorney says that it can be considered fraud because they’re very queer in their warranty.
Also, when I got the stove brand new, I have the 8 burners and no griddle. I found out that when Viking built it, they didn’t put the peg supports for the griddles for the center thing where the pan grate goes. They missed a couple of those which says their quality control is ** for a $17,000 stove. The next little thing that happened was that they shipped it and they don’t ship out clear instructions. So I had to be very careful on how to put the gas burners on the gas stove tops because if I don’t put them in exactly the way they’re supposed to go in, and they go in on a whole bunch of different ways, all of a sudden, I turn the gas on and it sits there and the pilot igniter runs all the time on that burner. It took a while for me to figure it out and try to put these burners in the right position. It’s not obvious. They should put a dot some place on there which way to put the burners so that the igniters don’t run all the time.
The design of the stove is marvelous. If it’s all put together right, it’s the best stove you can buy. But it’s not very easy to get issues sometimes taken care of. I’ve spent probably two or three months trying to get this oven fixed. I’ve been shuffling around from pillar to post and I’ve got bad answers, been lied to, and it still is broke. The only reason that I bought a second stove was that the first one went up in smoke when my house burned down, but I had no problem whatsoever with it.

Thank you for your review and letting us know how we can improve. Viking truly does appreciate the feedback. I do see where the part was shipped and delivered for service. If you have any other issues please contact our Customer Care group at 800-241-9152 for further assistance.

The director of appliances of the whole chain was the one there and he went over everything. He explained the differences between the Wolf and the Viking then I called my wife who called the builder. It’s wider than what we planned out for the unit, but the builder said that if we wanted to do it, they would make it work. My wife came right over to look at it. She liked it and we ended up buying it on the spot right there. Then we had to buy the hood and the motor. It was a very good experience but we called in several months ago and they were supposed to send us the thermometer but we haven’t received it. Outside of that, it’s been a very good unit. We had the opportunity to use the Viking in summer and thoroughly enjoyed it. It works great for us.

My wife likes cooking so we wanted to buy a professional-level range. We got one from Viking Range and it has an oven and convection and it heated up very fast to the temperature that I set up when broiling. But when I tried to do baking and set up the temperature to 300 it never heated up to 300. I thought there were some ignition issues so I tried for a couple of times and sometimes it worked but sometimes it didn’t. I planned on trying more times to see exactly what the issues were.
I also called them before to tell them what the issues were and they said they couldn’t help unless I register my product so I did. And when I called them back I waited for around five minutes but they were busy and I couldn’t get an answer so I just hung up and stopped trying. The call didn’t go to voicemail as well but they were nice during the conversation with them. Overall, it was good. My wife cooks all the time using it and I notice that the power is really strong. We have six burners and the heat is very consistent and in general I like it a lot.

I grew up in restaurants and I'd see Viking Ranges there so the name stuck. But the quality of the ovens is what won me over. But it’s kind of weird that the range I purchased has got these jacks for the cable to plug into the oven but nobody knows anything about it. I’ve talked to the regional rep, to Viking and to our local company who services them. It's a cable that comes with the oven that I didn’t get and it’s about using a third-party thermometer with it, but the third party, iGrill, also can’t tell me anything about it. In the manual, I have a picture of the thermometer plugged in with that cable, but when I called Viking and told them to go to this page of the manual, they have a different manual than I do, so it’s like this big mystery. However, that’s not a huge ordeal as I can still use the thermometer and plug it straight into the meat, run the cable through the door and close it on the cable.
I’ve kind of given up at this point but it doesn’t really affect my outlook in terms of Viking's quality and how well other ranges are working. I like that my Viking range elevated burners are industrial, so they’re easy but also difficult to clean. The grates are really heavy and you have to pull this thing apart to clean it, which makes cleaning the cooktop of the oven a 45-minute project. But once you invest that time, it’s pretty easy and it cleans up really nicely.
In general, the Viking team has been good. The only other involvement I’ve had with them was when we first got the oven set up, a couple of the burners weren’t lighting up all the way. It was like three-quarters of the flame would come around, and then there would always be like a quarter of it or so, and I couldn’t figure out what was going on. The range was all brand new and under warranty, and they immediately referred me to the local repair shop. They were able to come out and they showed me that I had to make sure that the burners were seated the right way, and then everything worked fine. They also found that there were a couple of screws missing in the door that they repaired when they were out here. I know that these things happen and it didn’t really affect anything in terms of the performance of the oven, but there's room for improvement. Regardless of the kind of tribulations that I went through, I’d still recommend Viking Ranges.

Two flaws (1) the large oven has three racks with only one that completely pulls out making it difficult to clean the back of the other two. Cooking a large turkey looks to be a problem. (2) The all gas range does not have a self cleaning option. We smell gas for a few minutes when the oven is turned on.

The self clean function of my range missed my radar screen. I tried it again the other day and shockingly, STILL doesn't work. :) But now I hear constant ticking. Any suggestions? I purchased my free standing 30" Viking range early 2017. We purchased the range from Abt Electronics. The range was delivered with a broken knob. We replaced the range. The new range that they sent, has a loose screw in the fan, that would make loud noise when the fan was turned on. We contacted authorized service station Jags Electronics. They came and fixed the screw. The fan continued to make noise. They now say that the convection fan needs to be replaced. It is an expensive range, and we were expecting better quality of the range. Very disappointed with the purchase. I am not sure if the issue is with Abt Electronics - they sell defective pieces, Viking quality, Jags Electronics - that they are not able to fix the problem at one time. Very frustrated. Would not recommend the range.

We special ordered our Viking range in white on May 13, 2017 and were told it would be 6-8 weeks for delivery. Our range was delivered August 5th with no explanation of the delay. When our range was removed from its pallet and packing material removed, we discovered the door and lower cover panel were both dented. Our selling dealer quickly noted the damage, but installed the range with the promise to have both pieces replaced. It is now November 10th and we are finally scheduled to have the damaged pieces replaced on 11/18. We are patient people, but the delay in the original delivery date and the long wait for replacement parts seems unreasonable. No reason was ever given for either delay and that makes our experience with Viking only satisfactory.
We were fortunate that the operation of our range was not compromised and have been using it since delivery in August. It performs flawlessly and does meet our cooking needs. However, the center burner doesn't seem to work correctly (it never goes to high) but we are hopeful that when the service tech comes to replace the dented pieces, he/she can make a simple adjustment. My husband and I do wish that there was direct communication from Viking beginning at the original order date. To date, we have never heard directly from Viking until this. Knowing the status of our order would have been much appreciated, given the substantial cost of our Viking.

I liked the quality of the Viking Range that I have observed at a family member’s house. I spent about two hours in the store and we finally landed on a product that I liked. However, I was really dissatisfied when the installer came to put the Viking Range in. They charged me $200 for the install, which I don’t remember having that conversation with my salesperson. I paid $50 to have them install the dishwasher so I thought I had paid for all of my installation fees already when I purchased the equipment.
I paid them the $200 because my beef was not with them. My beef was with Famous Tate, who sold this stuff. I then brought my concerns to them. After some back and forth, and then realizing that I was not going to accept their answer, they finally gave me a credit of $200 on the purchase, which completely satisfied me. We also have a slight issue with our oven, where the door does not always close or shut off the lights. It is not pressing that little button that turns the light on and off. I have reminded my wife to call Famous Tate about it.

I’m from Mississippi and Viking is a local company. I chose it ‘cause I could get the full suite in the same brand, the fridge, range, dishwasher, and door microwave. The appliances are well-built and the appearance is good. The fridge, dishwasher and microwave have been okay, but I’ve had a few issues with the stove. There’s something on it that's supposed to be wiped off when installed and that wasn’t done, so the front of the stove rusted between the opening of the oven and the top of the range where the control knobs are at. Also, the igniter gave a little issue one time and my oven quit in the middle of cooking a strawberry cake.
I was without an oven for over a week before they came to fix it and my other complaint is the response time on getting the warranty repairs completed, but some of that is not in Viking’s control. It’s the repair facility picking it up. The appliance repair company came and cleaned the thermal cut on the system. If it quits again, the igniter would need to be replaced. There were a few minor issues, but I’m pleased and satisfied overall.

On the other hand, when I had my microwave fixed, the parts took a while to come in but the technician did give me a loaner.
My contractor installed the range but then it stopped working all of a sudden after I've had it for two years. I had to call it in 'cause I thought it was the range that had a problem but when the Viking-certified technician came, he said it wasn't connected properly. The screws behind the stove and the socket were loose and it corroded over time. Aside from that, it is also easier to clean versus other stove tops. There seems to be a big disconnect on the Best Buy part of Viking. In summary, don’t buy a Viking from Best Buy.
It started last September 22nd and it was awful at first. Best Buy would not get someone out here. They didn’t even know they sold us an LP. Apparently Viking misstated it. Best Buy couldn’t say why it didn’t work and then when they figured it out, the sales girl said they were getting someone because they kept telling me it's really hard to get a Viking tech. It was out for two weeks. I also had a Best Buy warranty and they told me that it covers Viking. I called the Geek Squad. The day they came, they're like, "We don’t service Viking ranges" and I still don’t have a clear answer on that. The manager was supposed to get me whether or not the Best Buy warranty covers Viking and they still don’t have an answer yet. Once the manager got involved, he saw how I upset I was. At first we're going to convert the range but they couldn't.

I like the way Viking Ranges look. It started off shaky but it ended up being pretty good so far. I like that the oven rack is on a roller-type arm so they cool right out. However, I probably would not buy another one because of the way the heating element is, the preheat. It's not broiling and I'm old school. I like to put my stuff in there and let it start cooking but it can't so it ruins everything. That's not strictly just Viking because I heard that a lot of them are the same and aren’t using just the broiler so that's pretty sucky. We bought the range through a builder and we dealt with the warranty rep. I don’t know if they can fix that preheat thing but it’s some government thing that the broiler has to come on and then it cuts off when the oven is at the temperature it's supposed to be.

I really liked the power of the burners that I have, too. The team at Viking has been good. There was a delay in the manufacturing, and they let me know about it right away and when to expect the items so it all went very smoothly. I got a free Viking dishwasher with the range and the wall oven but I'm not as happy with the dishwasher as I would like to be.

I've always known about Viking and bought their range online recently. When it was delivered, it had two burners that weren't working and yet, it had this hand-signed quality control sheet with all these guys' initials on it. So, that didn't work too well. I'm glad that there's a good service provider here because they had come to fix that last burner today. We're basically happy we bought the range but disappointed in the initial quality.

Viking was supposed to be a quality brand. I've had the range for a year now and it's not properly working. I've had to have repairman after repairman in and out of my home and the problem is still not resolved 100% so it's a bit of an issue. After nine months of not working properly, they decided to replace the whole range. And now, the parts that I had purchased that are supposed to fit the same year don't fit because a piece of it is warped.
We finally got the other oven working because I didn't have both sides working for a whole year. And now that we finally got it working, the griddle that they replaced it with is warped. They had someone come out and look at it and it needed to be replaced. But Viking's saying that he didn't say that it was warped when I was standing right there and he did say it. They said that they're not replacing it basically. So now, I have a warped griddle that I can't cover.
I thought I was buying a luxury piece of equipment for my home and now it's just been one thing after another and no one's been helpful. I haven't heard from them for probably two to three weeks on what they're going to do about the warped griddle so I just have another defective piece of whatever. It would be nice if I could go back and if they would refund me and I would purchase a completely different brand so that I could get some customer service.

Having a Viking Range is something that I've always wanted for quite some time. They're expensive, but at my age now, I am finally able to afford it. I enjoyed cooking and never had this stuff with a high-end range before. I enjoy Viking a lot. I like the six-burner. I never had that many burners before. I could do simultaneously more things on the stove instead of taking turns before. They're all have nice sizes too. With the classic, it is just a four-burner range, you only have two small ones. You couldn't put a big pot on it. Then you're limited only to two larger ones. With Viking, they're basically all the same size. It gave me a lot of options.
We had some issues with the installation from Monark Appliances which is the store where we bought the appliances. But after that, when we contacted Viking, they were quite helpful. We had four appliances we got from them and they helped me register all the products online. Then they gave me the name of a local appliance or service dealer who could come fix the issue we've had with the installation that wasn't done properly. I've been happy with the service we received so far.

We were shopping and we wanted to have the same appliances throughout our kitchen. We liked the fact that Viking Ranges had the nugget ice machine. So far, the quality of the machine is good. The consistency of heating on the cooktop and different things have all been very good as well. I was pleased with everything.

We wanted to get a high-end range that had good reviews. We then found a great website that had a good deal on getting a package, because we were replacing everything essentially. We knew that Viking Ranges was a really good brand and we'd seen them in some houses we looked at. The range has been amazing, and the hood has been great. I really liked its quick heat control.

We bought a house that had a Viking stove installed by the contractor. We are happy with the stove. The range that we have, the stove unit and the hood, is fine. It lights when I turn the gas on and works good, but we were a little disappointed that our brand new Viking refrigerator had to be serviced within a year. Plus, we have a dishwasher that has never worked at all. There’s a warranty provided but it's been a real disappointment. We’ve had much cheaper washer that performed ten times better than this one.

I'm having so many issues with Viking. I’m very mad about it and I have a huge regret right now. The repairman came last week to work on the large oven and the range because they quit working. In addition to that, it took them forever to get the parts in. And when I called them with an issue such as my $30,000 appliances not working, they would act as if you’re bothering them and the customer service is rude. I’ve also had a repairman at my house to work on my Viking refrigerator four times.

My husband loves cooking on our Viking range. He likes its flexibility with the burners. Its quality is good and we’re happy with it thus far, but there are a few things about it that we’re struggling with. One is that the large oven keeps having a huge popping noise when it heats up and it scares the daylight out of me every time. A button on the hood is also not working properly, so we need to put in a service call for that.

My friend had a Viking Range and had a good experience. Viking brand is also well-known so a level of trust comes with it however, I was a little disappointed in the overall experience of getting the range. I ordered it from ABT Electronics, an online store not local to my place, and the first time it came here, it was damaged. So we had to return it but it took a little bit of persuasion from our side to make them understand that if it’s broken, it’s not our fault. They shipped another one and we got it installed by a professional here who does Viking installations, even for the local store where we had seen the range.
When we used the oven and the fan started, it started making a lot of buzzing noise and there seemed to be something loose inside the thing. So we asked for the warranty repair and it took weeks for them to schedule a repair. The guy who came was very nice though so I was totally satisfied with the behavior of the individual. He tried to fix it and it appeared, at that time, that it was fixed. He pushed it back and then he went away. But after that, the noise was still there. It was less but it was still fairly loud.

I bought a Viking Range for the size because I had a very limited space on my counter. I thought it was a good brand but I'm disappointed. They have all this gas power but if you spill anything on the ceramics and the top, it’s a major disaster. If by accident you spill oil or water, you need to burn yourself and clean the stove immediately. It gets marked very easily. I'm a cook so it’s crazy. I'm completely shocked. I Googled what to use to clean it and everybody is complaining that it’s ridiculous that you spend so much money and you can’t clean the stove afterwards. No water, or anything because it will leave a mark.

Viking has been around a long time. We were looking for a range for our house, but at the time when we were remodeling our kitchen, I knew Viking was a good product, but they didn’t make the 32-inch range and we needed that size. We do a lot of cooking and Viking has a good reputation. Other folks that I know have them and really like them. The look and the reputation of the product made us choose them. I really like its quality, the way it feels and the burners. All the burners are the same size and they heat really fast. The grates on top come off, all 6 pieces of them, which makes it really easy to clean. We got the one with the ceramic top that seals, and we had installed about two months ago. We're really happy with the Viking range and I’m looking forward to getting a Viking dishwasher next.

Some of my relatives have Viking. So, I've always said that when I bought my house, I was going to buy Viking because I've heard good things about it. I love the way that it looks and the quality. And now, I have four different Viking appliances. I love the high-techness of my refrigerator. I like the durability of the range, it’s a 5 burner with two on the sides and then the long one in the middle. I like the quietness of my dishwasher. And my microwave, it works so well. The Viking dealer was also great. We found them online and we priced around. They gave us the best deal and free shipping. So, they were awesome.

I build houses and I recommend Viking to all my customers. However, I didn't like the range that I got from them that I bought from Nebraska Furniture Mart. The handle on it broke and they sent out a service guy to fix it. I took a video with my phone of exactly what was wrong so there was no reason for them to come out without the part. However, the guy from Viking still came out without the part that he needed. Then, two months later, he came out with the part and fixed the unit. For three months, I had to go without my middle burner thermostat controller working, which was unacceptable for a $7,000 stove. I've given you guys countless customers when I build homes. How am I going to be able to recommend Viking after the experience I just had?

Thank you for the review. Viking is always looking for ways to improve customer service and your feedback is greatly appreciated.

We were going to be renting out our apartment and we thought that a Viking range would bring more value to our apartment to have a high-end appliance. I'm not using the stove, but I'm tremendously jealous of myself. We just sold the apartment actually and I installed it originally for a renter. So, I never got to even use it. But I love the stove, it's beautiful. I love the burners and the heat output that they offer. I also like that there's self-cleaning on it. They have a special feature on that, where it wasn't going to burn out the stove when you use the self-cleaning because it was electric. I love Viking products. We also got a whole suite of Viking products, not just the stove and we like every single one. It was an excellent experience.

Viking Range came with the house and the person who renovated the house put it in. The quality is okay but it's very expensive and it doesn't have a softening feature on its oven. I think the quality of the craftsmanship is very average for that type of product.
