I've had my Viking range since June 2019. I had a previous high-end oven that came with the house that I bought, and when that oven was no longer able to be repaired under the warranty, I had grown accustomed to its features, and I wanted another one. And there are only a handful of high-end brands that has the same features, a Viking being one of them. I went with it being the lower maintenance and lower complexity quality brand. And I liked the style and the look of it. I don’t quite know if I’m gonna get the value out of what I paid for because they threw in a promotional free Viking dishwasher that we replaced my older, reliable dishwasher with, and it had nothing but problems, to which finally, it seems to have gotten fixed. And that has turned me off of the brand because I wondered, if the dishwasher had so many issues and seems cheaply-made, what’s the Viking brand for the range going to do down the road?

My overall feeling is that I have enormous trepidation about spending the money that I did, and how long this unit is actually going to last without it costing me tons and tons of money out of out-of-pocket repairs once the warranty expires. But then again, maybe that’s their business model. Maybe that’s why I got this broken dishwasher so that I have to keep repairing it and spending money years down the road. That’s my mental state that I’m in on the Viking brand right now. And there’s really not much I can do about it at this point. So, I have to hope for the best. The other issue that I have is that there has been a concerning, unexpected behavior with the range where, sometimes, my wife or I will turn it on and set it to bake and to preheat, and we’ll come back to it 20 minutes later, and it has set itself onto the clean cycle and hasn’t heated up or anything.

I actually ruined a couple of bread loaves that I was looking to throw onto the oven at that time and I couldn’t. And I had to switch it off, then on and then off. So now, I have to call the egregious Viking customer service and tell them that I have a problem although I can’t be sure. And it’s time and energy that I have to spend doing that, it’s rearranging my schedule for a repair crew. I wanted a product that works, and I’m not entirely sure I have a product that works well. I’m highly skeptical and feeling trepidatious about it. I have limited confidence that it’s going to continue to function like a new $11,000 range should for longer than a year or two. I’m living in the fear of I don’t really know what to expect outta this thing, and I don’t really know if you guys are gonna support me in my time of need for the amount of money that I paid.

I’m a previous owner of a Viking range and I’ve also got friends and family that have Viking. Also, years ago, I worked in a commercial industry where the restaurant that we were in used Viking Ranges. I bought a standing range that has an oven underneath and for me, the main feature is the oven. The responsiveness of the oven, the temperature control, and the consistency in its convection oven are excellent. Also, the reason I chose Viking has to do with the type of burners that they have and the difference between a direct flame versus an indirect flame. It really has to do with your cooking preferences. I like direct heat. I like the heat that you can immediately adjust because, with a lot of indirect flames, you still have the cover that holds heat.

However, the oven had a few minor things that needed to be repaired. There was a little bit of damage to the top shelf, but I’m sure that Viking didn’t ship it that way. Anything that’s shipped that’s that heavy can have shipping damage to it and it didn’t stress me out. I called the 800 number and talked with their customer service a couple of times. The people there are polite and professional. They’re sympathetic to any situation that you need assistance with and they understand the importance of having an oven that may not be working perfectly. They were quick and responsive in getting someone to come out to the house and replace the part. Plus, the people they send to your house are excellent. All in all, the Viking range is great and I’m about to help my mother buy one for her house.

Beware of purchasing Viking Appliances!!! We purchased a Viking Range, double oven and beverage from Macon Appliance Store in Franklin, NC and spent almost $18,000 only to find out that Viking only carries a 2 year warranty. We had Blossom Gas come out to inspect our gas and they discovered there was a leak coming from the gas range. We contacted Macon Appliance and a repairman contacted us and set up a service call. It was discovered that the gas range had a gas leak and parts were ordered.

On 10/31/19 the serviceman returned with the parts to repair our gas range. It was at this time that he informed us that we owed $670.00 because the 2 yr warranty had expired. Needless to say I was livid as what company sells such expensive appliances with a 2 yr warranty. The appliances were delivered in Aug 2017 but our home was not completed until the later part of September.

I have also read other reviews from customers that had the same problem with a gas leak so this is obviously a problem with Viking gas ranges yet your company wants to gauge customers that are paying high prices for these appliances with a warranty that is worth nothing. Even Lowe’s, Home Depot and other companies offer a 5 yr warranty and much better service. I will NEVER purchase another Viking appliance again and will ensure that I let people know about the terrible quality of service that Viking provides. It is a shame that a company like yours takes people for their money. I contacted your customer service to report this only to speak with a representative that was rude. I asked her to have a supervisor contact me and I never received a callback. I am also contacting the BBB to report this matter!

Viking Ranges are made in the US, and I think they also had a specific model which just slightly better fit my requirements. They look good, but you better hope they don't break 'cause they won't stand behind it. I am very disappointed with what I received. While it works decently, two things had gone wrong with it, and I am now, I think, on month four of them not fixing it. There was no follow-up with the service people which I guess they have to hire locally. And so, they dropped the ball multiple times with us, so that took a while and it fell.

Once they finally got somebody out here, a month plus later, they needed parts. Another month and a half or so went by, and I had to inquire again on my own. So, at this point, I'm maybe six to eight phone calls in to multiple people, bounced around as usual. Eventually, I found out the parts were not in stock and they were back-ordered. So, it had been a saga as far as getting those parts into the repair people. They still don't have it.

I could have gotten a less expensive one but we went with them based on their reputation. I've known about Viking Ranges and it's a high-quality product. I got the basic one that had a self-cleaning. My first Viking range got damaged in shipping. The frame got bent and they had to put a new plate at the bottom. The door was warped too and it wouldn't close. Viking wanted a second opinion and the tech came out and confirmed that the range was damaged. Viking then sent a new one in which came within a week. However, the second was damaged too and the kickpipe at the bottom was bent. So, they put a new one. Thus far, I love the burners. On our old range, only one of the burners got hot. The other wouldn't boil water so I love the fact that both of my burners this time around are both really high-powered.

Customer service at Viking has been good too. When they put the first range in, the top was scratched. When they put the second one in, it was scratched too and they're replacing the top of the range currently. I figured that when their crew slides the range in, their guy's belt buckle would scratch the top of the range because the scratches are in the same spot. Still, Viking took care of everything and I love my oven. I'd definitely get a Viking again.

They’re one of the first ranges from back in the day that have been still around, and I recently also heard that they have improved their latest model. So, I decided to go and get one, and I love it. I like that it’s easy to clean and take apart. I like the aesthetics, the way it feels and looks, as well and it seems good quality. Its industrial quality is my favorite. I've used my range and have gone back to the department store. I looked at the lower-end models and the integrity of the material isn’t there, like the grill grates and the griddle. Everything is just built a lot better on the Viking gas range.

Updated on 11/06/2019: My earlier review detailed a total failure of Viking to either manufacture a range that works or have any responsive customer service. It is utterly astonishing that it is now November and the range is still damaged, experiences random failures, waiting for parts [since May!], and never get return phone calls. Chris in customer service simply cannot be responsive to any degree. She only answers emails that we send, provides no updates on the missing parts, and generally could not care less about the $14,000 range that is crap. I am now left with having to commence a lawsuit over this because of Viking’s total incompetence and indifference. Don’t be fooled by fake reviews and faux concern posted by some third party that Viking pays to respond. Nothing has been fixed in six months.

Original Review: Bought a Viking 48" range [LP] at a cost of over $12k. Range was delivered and installed. Two days later the smaller of the two ovens has a gas explosion about 60 seconds after turning it on for the very first time. The door blew open so hard that it warped the entire control panel, jamming several of the knobs that turn the ovens and burners on. After many calls to the dealer and Viking, Viking finally dispatched a repair person the next day. The conclusion was that it could not possibly happen but that for reasons unknown, it did. Viking agreed to replace the brand new range.

A week or so later, the new range is delivered and installed. None of the burners work and they are burning yellow with 6" high flame. Installer swears that that was normal. More calls to dealer and Viking and once again repair guy is dispatched and shows up later that day. He adjusts all of the burners and sees that the new range is scratched all over and the stainless back splash is also scratched. He puts in a repair order to Viking and says that it will all be resolved. Calls to Viking get the same response. No word for a period on months and calls to Viking are never returned. Finally speak with someone who now says that it is the dealer's problem and to call them. Predictably, the dealer knows nothing about this but two weeks later the parts seem to be ordered and when they come in, the same repair company with fix everything.

Fast forward to this week, a full five months after purchase of the first range. Repair guy shows up with the wrong parts [!] and no back splash, saying that it was supposed to be shipped directly to us [that has never been said before]. The range is still not fixed and the knobs frequently jam. To add insult to injury, the original purchase included a Viking dishwasher. After having it sit in all of its original undamaged packing for two months, I open it up to install it. The cabinet is wrecked. The back is caved in and the front looks like it was duffed with a fork lift. No one wants to take any responsibility for it. Curse the day that we went with Viking instead of Wolfe.

We wanted an all-gas oven and Viking had it. We also wanted self-cleaning, and the one we got came available with white on the front, which we wanted. The dealer was great. However, on the back of the range, we bought a separate piece for the air to come up from the oven, and it blows the burners when the oven is on and causes the burners not to be as efficient. That’s a big flaw. Because that air is blowing the burners and the flame is flickering, it takes forever to boil something. I wouldn’t recommend it because of that. If I were to do it again, I wouldn’t get it.

It was a high performing stove, and I liked that. What I have now is the same model, newer, and it’s no different. I had two problems however. I ordered my Viking range and when it came, there was a gas leak in it. The Viking person could not find any smell of gas, and he thought I was crazy. My experience with our Viking range has been good so far. We have one issue when we first got it, but it was a floor model, so that's understandable. One of the burners wasn't working, but they came in and they repaired it. Also, I did have a little bit of an issue with the vendor they used. It's the only authorized repair facility in the area. They dropped the ball a little bit with time. They got the part, and then they forgot to call me, and I had to call them after about three weeks after that.

I paid that amount of money for a range and I expect to have it working, but Viking didn't really do anything. It's a little upsetting. I was expecting them to do something, but they just told me that it is what it is. And so, that's the only real issue. I waited about eight weeks from the time I got the stove until the time it was fixed. But the stove itself is doing great. I like the name of the brand and what I thought they stood for, and other than that, the quality of the range is incredible. We have one of the cast iron griddles. We use it a lot. We changed to one of the accessory pieces that they have that should come in cast iron, which we prefer over the stainless steel attachment that it comes with. But it's great. We love it.

My mom is a chef and she said Viking is the best stove made. I like my range a lot. It’s a dual-energy. So, I’ve got a gas stovetop and an electric oven that has a convection. All the convection settings are really awesome. It takes too long to heat up. But once it gets hot, it’s great. The rows are nicer and much more even heating. It’s a very high-quality product. I'm happy.

The Wolf range was a little bit more money, but from the visit in the store, I didn't see that much difference in quality with the Viking range. One of the things that sold me on the gas stove top is that it has 55,000 Btu burners, and then, it’s got a little tiny one for simmering. That is awesome because the other products that I’ve owned only had one high-power burner, so I couldn't boil water and fry meat at the same time. But I do not have that problem anymore with Viking.

I always wanted a professional range. I moved to this house and they have a Dacor. But somehow, when the contractor from the home warranty came in to fix it, they screwed up. They messed up with something. The stove is too old so I had to replace it. The home warranty gave me the option to choose from. At that point, when I was going over some information, I found out Viking is a good stove and the price is quite reasonable for the amount that the home warranty was compensating me. I picked it not knowing that I will have this problem periodically. I have a sparkling problem with my stove on the right. When I turn it on, I always have to use the match to light. This is a brand new $1,000 stove and I don't understand why. Also, when I was reading the description, I wasn’t aware that it’s an open stove. Some of the stove, on the top, the water can overflow into the lower shelf all the way to the tray below.

I also bought the Viking dishwasher and I found out the instruction book is not very well written. For a long time, when I try to press the button, the red light’s blinking. That means it has not started. And I keep closing it and opening it, and not until many days later, I called Viking. They said it was like a defect. I have to press it once then push it in. I cannot press more than once. But they don’t address that in the instruction book so people don’t know. Right now, the handle that opens up the dishwasher is moving but I have no idea how to tighten it up because I don’t see any holes.

I went to Barry’s Appliance in Bridgewater, New Jersey, and they had all different brands on there. I liked the style of the Viking range. It looked nice. I thought it fit well in my kitchen that we had just put in. We got the hood, and it was very good. I like the convection oven a lot and the quality of the range is excellent. However, the door doesn't look like it closes all the way but they told me that’s ‘cause of the gasket that’s on it. It almost looks like it’s a little open on the side but they said that all the Viking Ranges are like that. There was also a problem with one of the gas jets when we first got it. There was a loose connection inside. They sent a repair guy down and took the whole stove apart. We tightened every connection in it. He was there for three or four hours and I haven’t had problems since. My experience with Vikings is great and I would recommend the Viking range.

My family had a Viking range forever. The oven works well but it’s really not that high quality. They should have a 10-year warranty. I’ve had things break on it and the cost of the parts that break on a high-end range (which is not high-end, it just says high-end range) is a little ridiculous in my opinion. For example, I could almost buy a new competitor’s range for what Viking charges for a blower which is nothing special.

I’ve had a lot of problems in my Viking range. I’ve had the computer and the blowers replaced. When the computer was replaced, I had a warranty for that and they covered all that. The company that serviced it was a very good company. But as soon as the thing came out of warranty and right before Christmas, my blower went. Since the blower went, I couldn’t use anything for Christmas so instead of making Christmas dinner, I had to order a pre-cooked meal and heat it up in my neighbor’s house ‘cause I didn’t have a kitchen. The people were too busy to come and fix it right away so I bought the part and fixed it myself.

Dealing with Viking is ridiculous. I’m a handy person in the first place so when the blower went out, all I replaced was just the blower. The Viking guy’s basic philosophy was call a certified service center to come out which I did initially when it was under warranty. But once it’s not under warranty, there’s no reason to use a certified anything to replace something ‘cause I could just do it myself. Their idea to fix it was to pay 200 bucks to have somebody come tell you a $250 part was broken. So, instead of just fixing it yourself for 200 bucks, I would have to spend $450 for Viking to send somebody out to tell me specifically that a blower broke.

They’re the well-known brand, Viking, Wolf and few others. But if you’re gonna go buy supposedly high-end appliances in your house, those are the ones you’re overpaying for. It’s like buying a Louis Vuitton. You’re just buying a piece of leather with a very expensive name on it. It’s all just marketing. Everybody that buys a million plus house is gonna put a Viking or a Wolf. It’s not the best product. It’s the name brand product. It’s kinda like buying a Range Rover for example. Range Rover is probably the junkiest car on the road but a lot of rich people drive them.

Viking could stand behind their products more. If I go build a second house, why wouldn’t I just buy a Wolf next time? I’m not saying it’s a better product or not, but at the end of the day, when things are breaking on an appliance that probably shouldn’t break in the first place, I’m being stuck with the bill. For $450 just to fix a blower for a service call, I better go to Best Buy and buy a whole new range and stove, probably like a Samsung for the same price. All the inside of this thing has been replaced so the longevity of the product without their expensive repairs isn’t very high. Also, on the range part of the gas range, the design of the grates is terrible. It’d be better if they’re individual. But as far cooking, it cooks well. I’m satisfied with it when it’s working.

We bought a complete Viking package including fridge, microwave, dishwasher and, the bane of my existence, a 30" gas range. The range would get to 400 degrees OUTSIDE the over making a burning hazard for anyone who touched the medal on the top of the range. This bad design caused the electronic ignition to fry. We had repair service done on it 3 times at a cost of roughly 2500.00. The ignition is out again and the quote we have had to repair it is $2000.00. That came with a 3 month guarantee. Since the other times we needed repairs there was only once that it was within the 3 month (we still had to pay for the service call to install the part) we decided against having it repaired. We will be buying a Whirlpool to replace it. I made numerous calls to Viking direct and was never able to get anything resolved.

However, I also have the dishwasher and with both of them, I have some issues. Like with the range, one of the bars inside of the oven came loose. So, I had to wait for two months to get the part back and to service it. And the first dishwasher I got wasn’t starting, so I had to get another one. I was a little bit disappointed, especially for the price. Other than that, performance-wise, both the dishwasher and the range have been great. The dealer was also phenomenal. I couldn’t ask for better. They knew what Viking has on the website and were very knowledgeable. They knew their product. Every question that I had, they called me immediately, and if there was something they couldn’t answer they got back to me very, very quickly.

I had trouble with it from the get-go, so it was replaced by Viking. Replacing it was a long, drawn-out process. But finally, after them trying to find the appropriate fix for the existing range, they said, “We’re done. We’re gonna replace it, no charge.” I like the new range and the grill is so pretty. The original one I had was so heavy. I’m a senior, and just picking up the grates was terrible. This new range I got is much easier to clean. They’ve broken it down, even the griddle and the parts that would have to be taken out, and cleaned are much lighter. They did a much better job on the newer models.

We've had our Viking for years now since we renovated our kitchen. I love the look of it as well as the induction cooktop. It is incredible. But in the last year, we spent thousands of dollars on getting both the panels of our induction cooktops replaced. The guy that I called at Viking was awesome and he helped get it through. That one was covered under warranty. But there was a stocktake that happened right before Thanksgiving and Viking shut down for it. That meant that parts didn’t ship for weeks and weeks. Who shuts down a cooking warehouse for stocktake the week before Thanksgiving? It’s the most important food holiday in the entire country. What kind of management decision was that? It was insane. We didn’t get the part for our range until after Thanksgiving. We got the first side fixed just before Christmas.

And then about three months ago, the other one went out and. That wasn’t under warranty anymore and that cost us over $1,300. The same thing happened with the part too. The guy gave the part but Viking sent the wrong one. The guy came and installed it, but it didn’t work. He then got another part. It came back and it still wasn’t working. He finally figured out that time that they sent the wrong part. The guy came back a third time. It was like a complete saga. I had to be home four times to get the second side fixed.

Viking range is incredibly expensive. We probably could’ve bought a range for a third of the price. I expected this thing to last for 30 years and not have a problem with it. But since these induction panels started going out, it had been a nightmare. The other one that was replaced under warranty the other day is doing something funky. We have to keep an eye on it because it has a 12-month warranty on it. Also, my understanding from the text is that there are only a couple of companies in the world that make induction boards. Whatever products you buy, you’re basically getting the same induction board in there. And this one is the best. But it still seems like there are some issues with the technology. At this point in time, it’s been very disappointing overall. You don’t expect to pay for a top-of-the-line range to have to then deal with this repeatedly.

When the range is working, it’s wonderful. I love it! I just don’t love that it keeps breaking and it cost me a fortune to get it fixed. It is unacceptable. The interesting thing is the company we’ve been dealing, Appliance Pros, has been pretty great although it was frustrating having to call and be told that Viking was shut down or the part was not yet shipped. We felt bad for the guy who came and fixed the last issue we had. He made four visits for one repair that could have been done in two visits. I'm dissatisfied with Viking.

The quality of Viking Ranges is excellent. When I called their customer service and asked them, "Will your stove do this? Will your range perform this?", they were able to answer my question and point me directly, and they have always been like that. In all the 8 or 9 months I’ve owned the range, I have not had anything outside of that. It has been consistent and direct. I’m very lucky to have had that Viking. It’s a really great piece of equipment and I chose it for its performance. There isn't one thing that I do in there that is subpar. I had a JennAir for 20 years before that so I knew the professional-level range. I was expecting it to be good. I wasn’t expecting it to be great, and it was great. Somebody would say, “Oh my goodness, you paid $10,000 for a range.” I did, but it performs. It does exactly what it says it does. It’s beautiful to look at too. It’s like a work of art.

One of the best features of the range is the clean-up because you get cooking, start grilling this, sauteeing this, doing a sauce here and things spill and oil starts flying. And I can have that stovetop and everything wiped down and done in under 10 minutes which is a blessing. The range has to be the easiest range I’ve ever had to clean. I cook a lot in the kitchen. I make everything - my own pastas, my own bread rolls, crackers, soups and soup bases. I do everything on that and I grill. I do pastries and brioches. I do all sorts of stuff in there that everybody says the degree of difficulty is extreme, yet the results on these things are superior in that stove. Dinners and everything are like works of art. It’s like somehow my cooking went from being good to superior, and it’s that range.

I also bake pies. As a matter of fact, I just made 12 dozen butter tarts. Never in my whole life have I ever baked a pastry at 325 degrees. It’s always 400 or 425. So, the first time I baked a pie, I’m looking at the Viking book, and they're saying, 325, X amount of minutes. I thought it was insane. It has to be wrong. So I went to my old habits and baked it at 400. The results were abysmal. It was overbaked on the outside and raw on the inside. I did it again and I did it according to Viking. It was the best I have ever made in my whole life and that was where I then really sat down and started to read everything and anything I could on Viking and how to use this piece of equipment with optimum.

I would recommend this range. My only thing is this is a professional-level range so there's a learning curve on it because it performs differently than a 799 General Electric special. This is like buying a Ferrari and thinking you’re driving a Chevy Volt. They're totally different things. The shame is that Viking is not out there more. They don’t have a place to really promote it. I looked at them all and I almost went with a Wolf. It was between Wolf and Thermador. What almost got me to go to Wolf was their pizza setting and they have a pizza stone. I sat down and I thought I really wanted that Viking, and I thought back of all the reasons why I wanted it. I had to search to see who was selling it. I couldn't find anybody in Canada. It was Bryan from Middleby Group that helped me.

Bryan answered my questions immediately. If he said it, it was done. It was none of this backstepping or trying to fluff over or trying to play me like I was stupid. However, I will never use Corbeil, the company who they shipped it to, again. Their product knowledge and support were poor. Their ability to answer questions, even simple ones, was non-existent. And not only that, when I went into Corbeil and gave them feedback that the Viking Range is superior, the store manager said right to my face, "Oh, this is a piece of crap. We won’t even sell these."

Because the feedback from Corbeil was so poor, I was really apprehensive and unsure of myself and insecure when I first got Viking. I thought maybe I made the wrong choice but I didn't. It bakes bread to perfection. Pizza, 375 on my pizza stone, is the best. It rivals a pizza oven which my in-laws have. And I can get better results in my Viking than they get in their pizza oven, so you don’t lose anything.

On Viking, they have a defrost cycle and a dehydrate cycle which are fabulous. The top burners are also ever fabulous. I wasn’t gonna get the sealed unit. I was gonna get an all-gas unit. Bryan said to me, “But you bake and you do this a lot. Get the dual fuel. You’ll be very happy with it,” and I’m really glad I did. He listened to me and he was able to guide me into making my choice. He knew his product. He was just a joy. He’s VP for all of Canada, and he answered or returned my call. He was so good.

I have nothing but great things to say about Viking and I don’t understand why the appliance centers are abysmal. And it’s not just for Viking. It’s for all of them. They don’t know their product and it’s whatever they're pushing at the time. This is why you get consumers who get the product in their house, and they're like, “What the heck is this? This is a piece of garbage.” It degrades very quickly. The least little thing is a complaint, is a complaint, is a complaint. And it has nothing to do with these manufacturers but everything to do with those showrooms.

I told my husband if I were new to the professional level, I would probably choose a Series 3. That’s a very nice-looking range. Probably 20 years ago, that’s what I would've chosen. Today, I’m dying to get into that Series 7. Because we’re thinking of moving in the next year, I’d have to do that Tuscany one. That’s a really beautiful one too. But I’m dying to get into the Series 7, the big honking one. My JennAir from my other home was quite large, but it was cumbersome, and the results were unpredictable. It was also difficult to clean. And I’ve experienced none of that with the Viking. It’s like coming out of purgatory and going into heaven.

I was in a time crunch so I had to make a split-second decision, and I heard that Viking had pretty good reviews. This was the first range I got as a six-burner gas range and it was horrible. Whenever we would turn on the oven, it would make a loud banging noise like a gunshot in my house. The repairman came out and drilled holes in the bottom of my new unit. He said that would fix it because of the expansion of the heat heating up the metal. He did that and left, and afterwards it was worse than before. This was a $7,000 unit that was recommended by one of the Viking people.

We went back and forth with Viking and they sent out a new one. The new one came after a couple of weeks of arguing, and the top was all scratched. The black part of the iron grates was peeling off. I opened the door and the door was bent. There was a quarter-inch gap you could see on the installation inside. I finally had them take it back again and I tried getting my money back. They didn’t reimburse me the whole thing for some reason, so I lost $800 on the deal. I went with a whole new different range. I would not recommend them and I would never purchase another Viking product.

However, the small oven has not worked properly since installation. Getting a service visit took weeks, and failed to correct the problem.

Second visit is today, another several weeks later. Service guy said he had never seen our problem before, so either we have a uniquely bad unit or the service professional didn't know his stuff. If today's visit does not fix the issue, I expect the complete oven to be replaced. For a premium appliance, I did not expect anything like this. One more thing - my online registration wasn't visible to Viking when I called in the service request, even though I got an email confirming the registration. I just logged in to get the order info, and I still don't see it there. Feel free to call to discuss!!

This is my first Viking Range. Granted, it’s one of the lower end models, but still not cheap. I was very disappointed with the incredibly loud vibration noise made by the convection oven. Repair/ motor and fan replacement was unsuccessful. Seems it’s the back vent that vibrates? Not the fan. Still can’t use when I have people over because it’s in my “open concept” kitchen. One knob had to be replaced because it stuck and I couldn’t easily turn off the burner. This all in the first month of use... not what I expected from Viking.

In retrospect, I wanted everything Viking. I bought a self-standing range, a big electric French door oven, and a fridge. The dealer was nice and my experience was very good. The features of the Viking Range were better. The power of the gas from the top range is terrific and I'm very happy with it. I also love the features of the oven, but I had some issues with the set. The doors didn't close well so they had to come back and close the doors, so I was partly happy with it. However, I'm not super satisfied with the brand new fridge. The ice machine was not working and they had to come back. For the price I've paid for it, I'm not happy with that. It's working okay now, but it took a while.

When I did my home over, I put in two huge Sub-Zeros, two huge, nice Vikings, Viking microwaves and everything. I was very happy except one of my Viking ovens was having issues from the beginning. I ended up having to put a few thousand dollars into it. I almost had a fire issue and it was just time to go. I wanted a new range. My husband said that they’re expensive and he’d get it for me. When it was my birthday, he asked me if I wanted a range or jewelry. I got a Viking range.

The first time I turned it on, the convection broiler wasn’t working. Every time I turned the oven on, it sounded like there was a train in the house for two hours while the stuff was cooking. It was just this loud, loud noise. I called right away for service. They sent someone down and he said he was gonna change a part. I told him I was not ready to change any parts. The last time I started changing parts, the oven broke on me. If I bought a refurbished piece, I have no problem for changing parts, but when I bought a brand new piece, I don’t wanna have to start dealing right away with parts that are changing. It was just not fair.

He started telling me, “Yeah, whatever.” When they came down again for service, he told me three new parts have to be changed. I called the company where I bought the stove from and told them, "I don’t want this range. And if it means paying more and getting a different model, I would like to do that." First they started telling me, “Maybe don’t take a Viking.” I said, “Yeah, but my other appliances are Viking. I want it to match. I’m ready to pay extra to get a higher model. I don’t care, but I don’t want this piece in my home. It’s causing problems. It could cause a fire. I don’t want it.”

I could barely walk as I just had a knee replacement. And this is what I’m doing in order to recover. I’m worrying that if the thing goes up in flames, I won’t be able to get out of my house. And altogether, I’m so pissed because this was my gift. I would’ve bought a refurbished piece. I put a brand new piece from day one. I called them before 30 days. I want it out and I want a new piece in my home. Even the people I bought it from at Drimmers said, “We’re calling, and we understand, and we see that you have bought, in the past, Vikings. We understand that you’re not trying anything. Let them take it back.” They were calling for me also and were not getting through to anyone. Vikings didn’t call them back.

I called Viking directly. They asked me why was I calling and not the person I bought it from. I said, “Because when they called, you guys told them that there’s nothing you could do. What does that mean, there’s nothing you could do? I bought a brand new piece.” I told them I would like to speak to the manager directly. They said she was not in and someone would call me back within the next 48 hours. I did not receive a call back even. I had to call back again to find out what was going on. Before I purchased my piece now, I would’ve recommended them, and that’s why I was purchasing it again. But right now, I wouldn’t recommend it just because I don’t know if I would want any of my friends to go through what I’m going through now. I’m very, very upset. I'm very dissatisfied.

Everything with Viking range is beautiful and works great, but there’s a couple of things we’re concerned about, that aren’t working right. The racks in the oven are not lined up right. It’s very hard to move them in and out. It’s almost like they’re too narrow for the track, like they’re lopsided. It’s weird. And I got the microwave oven, the drawer one, to go with the stove and a part of it looks warped. But other than that, it’s perfect. I love it.

They were installed last end of July. I love how it performs and it’s very easy to clean. The only thing, the burner size itself is very broad, so some of my pots, the heat comes more to the side versus the center. I wish it was adjustable, like the circle for the burner where the gas comes out. I wish they were able to do some smaller and some bigger, depending on what pot size I had.

I just purchased a range for a second home, and I’m satisfied with the quality of the product. The whole package is good. The quality of the stainless steel and the knobs too. They also moved up to LED light, which is nice. I am a builder in Manhattan and I do some high-end residential and commercial work. I am not a cook but I recognize quality when I see and work with it. Viking is one of the brands that I would always recommend.

I had Viking for 20 years and on our last stove, we never had a problem. But this time, we had nothing but problems. We decided to put in the Viking range when we had a new house built and the first time we used the self-cleaning feature, all the boards were broken. Viking sent people for five months to fix it. They also had to take the range out then they sent in another range. But it was no good, too and the problem with that was you couldn’t bake without the griller coming on. So, we went through the holidays with no stove. And two days ago, they finally had people here to fix that and it’s finally working properly.

Other than that, their customer service people couldn’t have been nicer when I dealt with them and they were pleasant to work with. But the problem was the wait time. When we started with the problem with Viking, it was the day after Thanksgiving and it just got resolved two days ago. So, that’s seven months we went without a stove.

They didn’t even have people in our area that could come service the thing. In fact, when I first had an issue, I live in upstate New York and they tried to get a guy outta New York City but he wouldn’t come. Then they tried to get a guy outta Utica but he wouldn’t come either. And the clock was ticking, months were going by, and it was like we didn’t have a stove that we spent $15,000 on. They dragged their feet as far as getting us the part or getting somebody here. And the people above the reps I talked to would never follow through. When I asked them to call me and let me know any update, they said they would call me the next day. But two days would pass and I still didn't get a phone call.

In the end, they made it right, got a hold of a local company, and spent thousands of dollars worth of parts to fix the stove. Still, for in wife’s perspective, we didn’t buy a refurbished stove. So even though it’s fixed, it’s still not like you get it outta the box. They had somebody come in and put new fans, new controls, and new motherboards, and it’s almost like it’s been refurbished. I’ve worked on a lot of stuff over the years and once you take something apart, it never quite goes back together the same.

But Viking honored their warranty. The old stove that we had had a three-year warranty, which was a little disappointing on this stove now on which have a two-year full warranty. Still, the Viking ranges cook beautifully and they have nice features now with the racks that roll out and the ball bearing. One thing about stainless steel, it’s a pain in the butt. But they sent us a product called Thor which really cleans it up nicely.

Our Viking range is beautiful stove, well-built, and heavy-duty. But after everything, they didn't even send me something for my inconvenience. Not even a can of cleaner. Viking also told me that the problem is the self-cleaning and that they wouldn’t recommend you really use it. But why are they selling the stove with it? This all started when we used the self-cleaning, which we did when it was new and we were testing everything out. It blew the motherboards out and one thing led to another.

All in all, we got a lot of Viking appliances like the dishwasher, refrigerator, hood, and the wine beverage center. We’ve spent a lot of money on their products. But I wasn’t too happy with the stove in the last seven months and I would not buy another Viking stove again. I would neither tell my friends to spend $15,000 on a Viking stove, and have them call me up and say, “Geez, I bought this stove and I’m having the same problems you did.”

A friend of ours also had a Viking that we really liked the style of. We compared it against other ones in the showroom and generally liked the look of it better. We got a Viking range and dealt with MD Appliance in La Canada, California, and they were great. They were good at calling out the features and differences between them and the other top-of-the-line one that was like a Wolf.

There are also a couple of very small, little, kinda like nitpicky things I noticed with the range. When the burner is at a very low setting, almost like on the simmer setting, it has a flickering effect on the gas burner. Also it's not a smooth, sort of clean sounding burn when it’s up higher. So if I were to perfect the range, I would eliminate that kind of irritating flicker sound.

The burners themselves are very heavy, which is fine. But the metal bottom of the burners is very rough, and it’s not a finished metal. So unfortunately when our house cleaner was taking it off of there, she scratched some of the surface of the range which freaking killed us, because it was like the price of a car. I wished that there was either some of sort of powder coat or some kind of finish on the underside of the burner that would prevent that type of thing from happening. But other than that we're pleased with the quality and I have no problem recommending it.

We bought a Viking range, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. We redid our entire kitchen, and we bought all-Viking appliances based on reputation. The stove has been great. The induction cooktop is fabulous but I'm not real convinced about convection oven yet. I don’t see the advantage of that being faster than normal cooking. But that could be that it’s relatively new to us, and we don’t know exactly how to use it yet. But I think we’re gonna be very happy with it. We actually have an electric stove because we don’t have gas in our area. But to see that you can boil water so quickly, the cooking has been incredible on the oven-top.

The customer service has been good as well. We waited a long time for a range. The people that we bought the appliances from didn’t know why it was in such a delay. So I just called Viking myself and the woman I spoke to was incredibly nice and told me that the issue was they were waiting for parts from Germany. We waited like a month for it. But that was nobody’s fault. It’s just the way it was.

The people that we bought it from, which was at Pacific Sales in Best Buy, have been pretty good. But the guy who installed our refrigerator worried me a little bit because he never heard of Viking. He never had installed Viking and he didn’t do it right. But the people that came out the second time were in and out of my house within 5 minutes because it was a very, very simple fix. The guy who did my dishwasher, oven, and microwave went to Viking training school, so he was very knowledgeable.

I've had a technician come out and it wasn't resolved the first time so I'm waiting for them to call me back and see if they can resolve the issue. It would also be nice if there was more information on troubleshooting oven temperature for owners, if that's possible, or just a little bit more explanation on how the ovens work and how they're a little quirky. I'm still trying to get accustomed to the induction range because it's different than gas. But I love the way that it's easy to clean. It looks great. I would buy a Viking product again. However, I did not have good experiences with the dealers. I had been trying to buy a Viking range at least two months before I actually got to purchase it because I was already a Viking customer. Every place I went to said they were not doing Viking anymore. They said they were phasing it out. So, I was just kind of laid back and waited, and then I contacted Viking directly and tried to get information on my own. I finally went to Nebraska Furniture Mart, and they had given me the runaround the first time. The next time we went, I found somebody that would sell it to us, but they didn’t have much in stock. The Viking name has a good reputation. And Viking was a good package because we were currently remodeling the kitchen. So, it was all-inclusive. The quality of the range that we received from Viking is okay, but we wouldn't buy it again. It's hard to clean. Heating up takes longer than we expected. The most annoying thing is it stays on an hour after it's been turned off. It's a cooling down fan. So, I don't know exactly how that works beyond. I know it's a safety feature and it's kind of expected.

The customer service has been excellent both at Best Buy and Viking. Now, we just called to have some warranty work done. And we called the local appliance repair that was authorized by them that was recommended by Viking. It was K & N Services, and my first phone experience was not that good. The rep was already telling me that there was an issue with both the refrigerator and the dishwasher, that the leveling device underneath probably isn't covered by them and I would have to have somebody else come out and fix that.

I’ve known about Viking for quite some time. The name was pretty strong but they went through some rough patches as of recent. But I liked changes that were made after the company was purchased by Middleby. I liked the BTUs that they offered too. There weren't many out there that had higher BTU. I used to have a Viking 16 years ago and the new one works just as good as the old one. We had some growing issues where they, unfortunately, tried to keep up with demand and not necessarily putting as much time and effort into research and development. But it looks like the purchase by the newer company has fixed all those issues.

My range is a solid piece of equipment. So far, it’s been working fine and is doing everything I expected it to do. I like the strength of the front three burners. I cook a lot. When finishing off sous vide or doing cordon steaks, you need the high BTU. Typically, I braised pork belly for 10 hours but I like to finish it off with a really good high sear as they caramelize. The range is helpful because it has high heat to it.

Also, when I had an issue with one of my knobs, a replacement knob was sent to me immediately. Overall, I had a very good experience with the company. I like the fact that Viking has a local office here in California as well so if I ever have an issue, I could always try and get on to their distribution center or their facility over here.

There was a lot of patient pushbacks from the team at the dealer and when it finally came time for delivery, we ended up with a problem with one of the appliances. I had to call up to the home office of the appliance dealer and then they had to call Viking to get it resolved.

It took about eight weeks for the defective dishwasher to finally be replaced which was disappointing. So far, the range seems okay and we're happy with it. We like the size of it, the amount of heat that it generates, and how fast it cooks. The quality of the cooking surface is the most important thing so far. My kids are cooks and they like the quality of Viking's ranges. As for me, I like both the aesthetic of the design for home kitchen and their reputation for having a solid product. We got two ranges and the quality is good. But we had some problems with the packaging of the items. A number of our items loaded from Viking got damaged during shipping, which was a pain in the butt. I dealt with Friedmans Appliance and the people there were awesome. They interacted with the Viking rep and we never had any problem replacing units or having someone come out and look at it. So we were very pleased. My favorite thing about the ranges is the quality of the knobs. A lot of times, knobs would be cheesy and chintzy. But the ones on my unit are extremely solid. They're also just about the right size since I'm a man working the stove.

Back in November, we bought a refrigerator and a stove. I got a GE profile then and it didn't work. The part was back ordered so they brought out another one and it had the exact same problem. So I went to look for more stoves but then I didn't like all the electronic crap. Every time I leaned up against the front of the stove, it would go crazy because of all the electronics. All I wanted was an old fashioned stove that bakes but looked updated. I looked at other stoves and I didn't like them. When went online and read about Viking in Consumer Reports, it was the only oven that people said worked. I hated to spend the next $2,300 that I didn't have, but I didn't want an oven that I couldn't use. So I got a Viking.

I thought my Viking Range was gonna be spectacular. But then it's not and I'm a little disappointed. When their guys delivered it, the bottom panel just above the legs wasn't secured. I pushed on the upper corner thinking I could just push it in and that didn't work. So, the delivery guy came and he had to screw it in. He then told me that I had dented it with my finger pushing on the corner. I told him I didn't think so but he made me sign off on something that said that was so. After he left, I saw that there were dents on the other side in the same place I hadn't touched. I don't know where those dents came from, but I didn't do either one of them.

So I called and had to ask for a new bottom panel. Their reps said that in the first week, they replace anything. Since then, I've been liking the range pretty well. However, it doesn't bake as well as I thought it would, it being that expensive of an oven. I had previously traded my GE in because I had so many problems with it. I thought that because my new oven was a Viking, it was gonna be better than it is. It's hard to see through the dark window and even when you have the light on in the oven. It's hard to see what's going on. It seems to take longer to cook than I thought it would.

Furthermore, I don't notice a lot of differences between the convection oven feature and just the bake feature. I don't know if I like the grill either as I thought it was gonna be thicker. Sometimes, when I put a heavy pot on it, it seems like it's not real sturdy and I don't know how it'll hold up over time. The grills are not as heavy as those on some of the other ones which is something I like because it was awkward to pull those heavier things off. Also, I'm not too wild about my Viking being up on legs but then I'm getting used to it.

Still, I like the stove really well. I like that you can simmer on it. However, when it's pre-heating, it buzzes sometimes and it sounds like something in the back is vibrating. When that happens, I can hear the fan which is kind of loud but then it goes on only for a few seconds every once in a while. I also like the black background and the black liner underneath the burners as it is fairly easy to keep clean. I like the controls too. This is in contrast to the stainless steel on the GE profile as I couldn't keep that clean. I also like the look and the slide in. But then, I'm gonna have to get my gas outlet and have a plumber put it at a different point that is lower to the ground. My range sticks away from the wall so doing that would allow it to sit up against the wall. Though maybe Viking is still working out the bugs with their range as they haven't been making these for very long, I thought from their reputation that my Viking was gonna be a little different. Still, I'm pretty happy overall.

I know about kitchen brands since we have a restaurant, and though Wolf is my favorite, I went with a Viking range for its size. I like the Wolf way better. I like the way the Wolf looks more commercial. Viking's a little modern for my liking but I enjoy that it fits in our tiny condo and it's a commercial range. However, it was installed crooked and it's still crooked. It slopes, so the trays slide out when I'm cooking. It's dangerous when I'm cooking greasy items. I don't know if the guy that installed it is also the reason why it doesn't ignite properly or if it's a Viking problem, but it explodes when I try to light it. I haven't been able to use it for quite some time and I've tried to get the guy out to fix it. I've reached out to them a couple of times but he is a no-show and a no-callback. On the other hand, I called Wolf for my Sub-Zero at the same time I called Viking, and the Wolf guys were on it.

We have the oven, the fridge, the dishwasher and the microwave. My father and mother bought the range and they came back happy besides spending almost $20,000 on the appliances. The range was bought a couple of months ago and then we set it up two weeks ago and just tested it. I love the overall quality of the range. It is very good and I feel like it is more commercial than household because everything is so big though not as big in the inside. But other than that, it is perfect and it cooks everything faster. I would recommend it.

We were looking at the Wolf, and it was out of my price range. And the only reason I looked at the Wolf is because of its name in the industry. When we went to the store, the gentleman pointed out that it's not necessarily the best product on the market. It's just got a following and a name. It was my first time purchasing a gas stove and he showed us the Viking. He told us a little bit about it and the features, and it had a model that they were actually discontinuing and it was a really good deal and we picked it up.

Even our renovator who installed it said, "This is a really good oven," because of the way it cleans. The grill of Wolf is tight so it's harder to clean. With Viking it's so easy to just pick up the grill and wipe it and it's done. I love the product. You can really control the heat and I've never cooked with gas before. I was reluctant, but it's a lot more controlled in the heat in how you cook so I like it.

The rep was also really good and knowledgeable and not pushy when I first went. He educated me on this. So check out the product because the Wolf and the Sub-zeros got its name in the industry and then everybody wants one, but they don’t realize that there's this other product that are just as competitive and has better price points that are equally or if not, better.

Following a friend's recommendation, I got a Viking range and it's beautiful. I got the black one and not only does it work well, but it’s nice-looking. The quality is really good too. I love cooking with it, although there are things that it can do that I haven't utilized yet because I’ve only had it hooked up for about four months. Also, when I first got it, the broiler was broken. They just fixed that about a month ago. It's an amazing broiler, it goes over the whole top of the oven. It took a long time for them to come out to get it fixed because I live in a rural area. There was some problem with me getting the paperwork, but it didn’t have to do with Viking. I bought it through AJ Madison, and their company was the one that I was having trouble with obtaining the paperwork so that I could get the product registered, and then I could get it serviced for free under the warranty. The person who handled it did a good job, and it works now.

Apart from the broiler, which I love that, I also love that on a standard stove that I’m used to, it has the smaller center burners, and these can all go to the boiling. And then they have one that’s huge, so it really gets your water boiling quickly. It also has a dehydrator built into it, which is amazing. It bakes well, too. I’ve had good experience with everything. I would buy one again for sure.

I called Viking representatives in almost every state. Finally found a dealer that gave me information how to correct the problem myself. I had a local serviceman out several times that charged for service and said, "Don't expect warranty service." That is exactly why he stopped carrying Viking gas ranges. A lot was going on so we got a quick look over but not as in depth as it should have been. So, once the holidays were over and we got ready to install it, we found that it had significant damage both internally and cosmetically. Though it took a while to go back and get it remedied, once we got to the agreement that I could replace it, it was fine. The issue was because I exceeded their 24-hour period to inspect and their sales rep said that you guys would not repair any cosmetic damage. Adding it all up, that's nearly $600 in failed spark modules, adding significantly to the cost of an already-expensive oven range, but the worst thing is it is unreliable. We were building a house and we were wanting a bigger range. We started looking around the Austin area which is about 100 miles from where we’re actually located. We went into the store, looking at all the different products. Then we found a company closer to us that carried all the same brands except for one that we were looking at. But that company in Fredericksburg said they’ve had people in this area who requested the same range that we were looking at but the manufacturer doesn't come to service it. So if something happened, we weren’t gonna get service on it and that was one of our things.

Then we started looking at Viking and they said that Viking comes out to this area and services the appliances that are messed up. So we got the prices and the features on everything and the representatives told us about everything. That was what made us choose Viking. Besides, Wolf was way too expensive and I couldn't see spending the money to get the same product. The reps were also very helpful. If we had questions or concerns, we called them on the phone and asked them, and they remembered us. So as far as helping us and selling, they were fantastic.

One thing I also noticed is that, versus Wolf and Thermador, Viking has all the burner heads in the same size. And I like that. This is something that drives me absolutely nuts – when you're trying to cook somewhere and you have a big burner here, a medium here then a small one here but you gotta cook three large pans. You only really have one burner for it. With Viking, I don’t have to worry about that and that made a huge difference. The range is awesome. The ovens are taking some time to get used to just because they cook faster. But that’s a good thing. We were also kinda regretting that we bought a range this big. But in the first couple of times we’ve used it, we were almost using every single burner and the ovens at the same time. I thought it was a good thing we bought this. In terms of the use, the care and trying to clean it, everything is great as well.

I have owned Viking for the last 15 years, in 4 different homes. One of my kitchens is a full suite of Viking appliances, with a 48" range oven. In the past 5 years I've moved three times, and each move I purchased a Viking range, to make me feel like home. Over the course of the last 5 years, I was able to experience the changes, primarily changes to cut costs, but the warranty was 3 years, something that Viking was very proud of. So, I continued to purchase with confidence. In May of 2014, I purchased a range with a 5-year warranty, which remained at my old address.

My last range purchase was Oct. 2017, which I believed to have the normal 3-year warranty. I had to change the oven fan last year, which is an ongoing problem with Viking. There are also ongoing issues with their oven doors and grates, which prompted my call to Viking customer service today. I wanted to schedule service for the continuous problem with the fan, the oven door which does not close properly, discoloration on the stainless lip that meets the burners, unsafe oven racks.

The customer rep that took my call, was rude and told me my warranty was expired. I told her my range is less than 2 years old. I was shocked when I learned that my warranty was up, and with her rudeness and dismissiveness. She told me that Viking changed the warranty program and that I should read my manual. I then called the company I purchased from and they confirmed the 1-year warranty and that I should have read my warranty before purchase.

I feel as though Viking has been dishonest with customers who are repeat customers and familiar with them. There was no way for me to know about this change unless the salesperson made me aware of it, and they may have not known themselves. At the time of this purchase for the range or for any purchase of any appliance, which I have bought my fair share of, I have never been given manuals to read before purchase. I've always relied on my experience with products, companies and salespeople. This is disappointing as I have nowhere to go and this point, no one ever contacted me with perhaps purchasing an extended warranty either. I'm confident that I'm not the only consumer who's experienced this surprise in the last 2 years. And I'm also confident that customers who've spent well over 30K in repeat business would be treated better than a buyer beware clause.

I purchased a new Viking Downdraft Ventilator unit (VIPR101) along with a Viking Countertop Range several years ago. Since then I have had 4 ON/Off switches on the unit fail all in the same place in the circuitry between the switch and the main board in the fan unit. After 4 identical failures it is clear the design of the part is inadequate which I have informed the Viking parts department of each time and yet they have not updated this part.

After once again informing the Viking parts department and explaining that despite my infrequent need to use the fan while cooking I was told by the agent that this was reason for the failures because I do not use the fan each time I use the range as though I should use the fan to boil water. What a feeble excuse to explain a defective design on their part. It was clear evidence that they prefer to soak me for the many replacements rather than admit the problem and do something about it.

My solution now has been to replace the switch with a ALCOSWITCH model TPC13C-O for about $2 rather than Vikings $70 price. Only a minor modification was required to the fan housing to install this new switch and this replacement has been working fine ever since. Unfortunately this will be the last Viking product I ever purchase having experienced the callous and greedy way they treat their customers. Future buyers beware!

I liked the way Viking Ranges look better than other competitors. I like my range's quality a lot, but there are a few things I don't like. The top is very difficult to clean. There’s a bar on the top before the burners and it’s like a crevice. There's no flat surface there because of that enclosure. Everything around the burners gets into those cracks. It’s in a really bad spot for the stainless and you have to clean it constantly, and the best thing to do is vacuum it up. Plus it doesn’t make sense that they didn’t make a smaller burner. They’re all the same size and if you had a really small pan, it could be difficult to use. Other than that, it cooks very well. I like the oven racks and the way they telescope out is good. I’ve cooked a lot in the oven and it stayed clean until I dumped a batter of egg thing in it. I slipped, but it was fine. There's a learning curve though. You can’t just put it in and use it. You need to really read.

A year ago in January, I went to Best Buy and I ordered a new stove. It was a $1,300 Samsung stove. The knobs on the stove turned on so easily that if you bump into it, the gas either ignited or the gas just came out. But on top of that, it didn’t keep the temperature in the oven. If you set it on 350, it would go from 400 down to 225, and it would fluctuate to 100 degrees and that’s not normal. I didn’t want the convection oven because even if it does keep the temperature, but it dries everything out. With that, I sent back the $1,300 stove

I went to P.C. Richard and I bought an upgraded Samsung unit, but the same thing was wrong that the temperature didn’t keep in the oven, and the knobs turned on too easily. So, if you leaned against the knobs or you brushed against it, they turned on. I went back to P.C. Richard and I turned it in for a Whirlpool. The knobs were a little bit better. The oven kept temperature and it’s a self-cleaning stove. It’s supposed to clean off the debris that falls into the oven. That doesn’t work, plus it doesn’t clean off what’s on the sides of the stove or any splatters on the top of the stove.

That wasn’t enough for me to send the stove back. Then, at 5:00 in the morning, I wake up smelling gas. So, after that, I called P.C. Richard. I said, “This stove is going back.” And, “Give me the Viking on the stove.” They said, “The only Viking we have that has the self-cleaning is this model.” “Okay. Make arrangements. I want that. Send it to my house.” So, they called the guys to come. Not only does the Viking barely fit in a Cape Cod, but they gouged my wall and they broke my baseboard because of their incompetence. That was five stoves in one year.

Now, the guy comes and he installs it and the center burner is not working properly. Viking doesn’t communicate directly with you. They communicate with the repair people. And then the repair people don’t contact you, so you’re left in limbo. When we finally made arrangements for people to come out. They want me to do a four-hour wait. I am not waiting for four hours. I said, “This is a $4,200 stove, plus tax, plus the insurance. You have to be a little more accommodating than having somebody wait four hours for you to come out.” They came out and the guy replaces the igniter. Then it still is not working properly.

According to the repair people, Viking sent out a bulletin to the repair people that if people are having a problem with the center burner not working, they should have it replaced with this replacement part. I had to stop payment and I’m disputing not being able to use the burner properly. Now, I got a call from the repair people that said Viking is working on a replacement part just for my stove. So, in essence, I’m still waiting to hear back from Viking or the repair people that they have a new part and they're gonna replace the part so the stove works properly. On the other hand, the oven works properly and the knobs are tight. You have to push it in and turn it for it to go on. So, this way, nobody is going to accidentally bump into it and turn the gas stove on. That was very important to me.

Save yourself the trouble and read all the previous one star reviews. I wish I had done that. Two years ago when building my dream kitchen, I splurged and purchased a Viking stove. The stove would not heat up consistently as many others have noted and I finally called Viking for advice. Apparently, the warranty period had changed from 3 years to 1 year so I was on my own. They gave me an authorized dealer and I had to pay $450 for a service call and new igniter part. I was not happy but at least my stove would be working properly.

It's now just three months later and again the same thing is happening. The oven turns on but in the middle of cooking, the igniter keeps clicking and the temperature does not remain consistent. It's hit or miss whether you'll be able to cook your food. I had a GE stove in my previous home that cost a fraction of my Viking stove and it worked perfectly for 10 years and was still going strong when I moved. Don't waste your money on this overpriced defective product.

We learned about Viking from a friend and she told us that there was this Viking refrigerator on sale, so we went and purchased it. We were in the middle of building a house and decided to go with the range and the dishwasher after that. We had to get a contractor to put in the dishwasher and after he put it in, the seal that sealed the door of the dishwasher when you run it had been flipped over or creased, but he was able to unfold it and he tried to work it back. Then, the icemaker on the refrigerator never worked, and we’ve got water lines coming to it. The guy seemed to think the whole icemaker was bad or there’s a solenoid or a switch that could be out.

We also have two eyes on the range that haven't worked. One wouldn’t ignite at all, while the other ignited 20% of the time. When the appliance people came out to look at them, they had to order the parts and I needed to call Viking in order to see if I can get that under warranty. It was brand new when we got it. At that price range and for the quality, we were expecting a bit more attention to detail and less issues, especially not have something wrong with all three of them. Still, we like them. They work well, and they're nice. My wife’s also enjoying the range well and I like how quick it heats up. It’s good. I would recommend it.

My mom has a Viking range and I really like it. It’s bigger than 36-inch and she uses it when everyone comes over for Christmas and Easter. It just works so well. It would boil a pot of water within minutes which was way different than when I boil a pot of water on just a conventional oven. I felt like I was waiting for 20 minutes. So, I got one too and we really liked it. However, I got a replacement because for three years that we've had it, the door would fall off every three months and Viking couldn’t fix it. A whole slew of things happened throughout the first six months that led to more things, and it just broke. I asked Viking to replace it because it was not repairable and they’ve already repaired it 12 times. So finally, I got a new version of what I had bought and it’s working.

I didn’t get to use the oven as much as I wanted to, but when I did, the convection was also one of the features that I wanted Viking for, and the self-clean which I really love. The cooktop is strong and it has a different side burners. The one at the back for simmer and then I have the oval one for a grill effect. The design is really nice. It’s low in the back which is basic to turn it on and clean it, and that’s all I have.

The dealer was so sweet and she worked so hard with me. I had a lot of anxiety with my range and the appliance guy said, “You’re really lucky that you’ve got this replaced. No one gets a replacement.” It’s a $5,000 purchase and every time their techs would come out, it would be $200 just to assess it and it’s a high price to pay. So, to those who wanted to buy a Viking, they have to have some money to back it up if something goes wrong. They can’t just have it under warranty at Sears because Sears doesn’t cover a high-end appliance like Viking.

We liked Viking's name recognition and aesthetics. I feel good about the quality of the range that we got. The installer commented that it was the heaviest range of that size he had ever tried to lift in his life. And he’s been installing high-end appliances for 15 years. Weight is a good indication of quality to me. You can typically look at the weight of something and figure out whether it’s made well or not. I also liked that we could get the Viking range in a custom color because my wife wanted a black one. We had to wait a couple of extra months for Viking to build that one. Having the dual fuel, which is the gas range and the electric oven, is good too.

We got our Viking range at Bob Wallace Appliance in Huntsville, Alabama. They were really good and I would definitely recommend them. I picked out the range online, talked with the salesperson, ordered it over the phone, and had it delivered to my house. The whole thing from step one to the final step was done without me ever stepping foot in the store.

I know that Viking and other high-end brands like this have like a no discount policy. But we were able to take advantage of a sale going on to where when we bought the range, we got a free Viking dishwasher with it. Also, one of the things that I wanted, we were going from a electric stove to a gas stove and I wanted a vent hood. And as part of that Viking promotion, we could pick a microwave or a dishwasher. In the future, they could add to the list of free products that one could get. I would’ve taken a free vent hood even though it’s less expensive than a dishwasher because I didn’t need a new dishwasher. I just got it anyways because it was free. The promotions like that are really good and as far as the stove, everything works perfectly right now.

I had a kitchen remodel and they installed the Viking range, and the unit itself was level front to back and side to side. But the cooking surfaces, which include the range top and the ovens, were not level. They dipped down in the front. I only noticed it when I was making Christmas morning breakfast and I was cooking pounds of bacon on the griddle that covers both the burners. All the grease was collecting in the front of the griddle, which is not safe. If I had not been paying attention, it would have overflowed into the front, right into the burner and cause a fire.

I called Viking to state that I had this issue, and they sent one of their authorized service people to come out and look at it. The tech guy was by himself and he couldn’t do much. He fiddled around and then he left. I got a phone call a couple of weeks later that said, “Your case has been closed. There is nothing that can be done with your range". I went back to Viking and they were like, “We got a copy of the report and the report states that it’s an installation problem which is not our issue. You need to go back to whoever installed it.” When they came out to look at my range, my contractor was here. He was talking to the service man and said, “Everything is perfect. I followed all the instructions. Everything is laid out the way it’s supposed to be. Nothing is butting up against it.”

It went back and forth and finally, I asked for another different authorized service company to come out. Before they came out, Viking called me and said, “This second opinion you’re getting is not covered.” The second service company came out, and they came out with two guys. The older gentleman looked at the range and said, “Your surface isn’t level.” They took care of it and now it's level. He gave me my slip and I was like, “How much do I owe you?” He said, “We are charging Viking for this. It is their problem. You’re not paying for this.”

Overall the Viking range is a wonderful thing to cook on when everything is okay. Up until recently, I was cooking for a very large family and boys eat a lot of food on a four-burner cooktop. Now I have an eight-burner range so I can cook to my heart’s content and not have to shuffle things around, shove them in the oven or put them in the grill. I got the range and it came with a microwave drawer which is wonderful. The only thing that I did not get was the range hood because they charge you for it and then they charge you for the fan motors separately.

This stove will outlast my house. Built like a tank, burners are amazing all the way from the slightest simmer flame to a multilevel scorcher. We have the grill and griddle. Grill makes some smoke but will dear steak just like your outdoor gas grill. Have enough power in a vented hood or you’ll need to remove batteries from smoke alarms. The griddle is thick steel and after one seasoning as recommended you’ll have a perfect nonstick surface smooth enough to cook eggs. Easy to clean with a paper towel. Only downside to this monster is its weight, which I guess only matters to the installers. You’ll never want it to leave and it’s the one thing a thief couldn’t carry out.

I purchased a 60" Viking range 8/2/18 and took delivery on 9/28/18. I submitted an online rebate that was supposed to process within 6-8wks. On 12/20/18, after not receiving the rebate, I called to check status. The representative told me that a form I submitted wouldn't open properly so I sent a new copy and called to make sure it would open. The rep told me everything was in order and that I should expect the rebate in 4-6 weeks. Called again 2/8/19 and it hadn't been processed. Rep told me that it would be sent in 2 days. Still nothing. Although I love my stove today, I paid the extra money thinking that Viking would be a good company to work with if I had issues. After this experience, I'm not sure that I made a good choice. I wish I were able to review my stove (which I love) but I'm left waiting 6 months and counting on a rebate. Tired of trying to get this resolved.

We've had the range for about a month now and so far, no issues. I feel like it's pretty high quality, although when I put it on simmer or very low heat, it tends to lose the flame, so it is hard and I have to really adjust. I can't go all the way low or it will flame out, and it halts my cooking. Other than that, we're happy with the oven. It definitely feels sturdy from the knobs to the door. It seems like it's well put together so I appreciate that. I haven't had issues with cooking. It seems to have a pretty strong flame and for everything that we are using it for, it is doing the trick. The infrared boiler is really nice. I just have to get used to it because it would get very hot. We burned a couple of things and we realized how powerful it was.

We had an issue with the fridge. The right door that has the little piece that is supposed to move when shutting it so it can go in wasn’t lining up with the tracker thing that pushes it outwards. They came out and fixed that. Also, the top piece of the microwave wasn't put properly, so we just had the guy who was fixing the door do it as well. Overall, I am happy and I will definitely recommend Viking.

I have used Vikings many times in many homes in the past. I liked the way it functions, and it cooked even. I liked the way it looks, too. It is built well. The range tops and the ranges seem sturdy. I had a conversation with the regional Viking manager. Her name is Sue, local in Sonoma or Marin County. She was very helpful and very compassionate about our issues. As a result, she sent out a second technician to try to troubleshoot what we felt was the problem. They kept insisting that this was just how the Viking refrigerator sounded and sort of that was that.

It would be nice if the knobs didn’t stick out so far on the rim. There is about a 4-inch piece of metal on the top that sticks out, so, aesthetically, it would be nicer if it fit back into the counter depth. Also, it would be nice if they manufactured some sort of a piece out of the stainless steel to go with the oven that fits in the crack behind the oven. I know that these ranges don’t all flushed to the wall because you have to have enough room for the plug to go into the outlet and enough room to attach the gas hose. So, it forces the range to stick out even a little further, then it creates a one to two inches behind where you are cooking. So, things can spill or splatter or go down in that hole. I could not get any help from anybody on that. We had to make something ourselves. They have a thing that they put underneath the front of the range to cover the gap where the legs are. They made something for that.

I wanted everything to match, so I went with the range and the dishwasher as well. The range has worked really well, but the dishwasher had problems when it was first originally shipped. The team with Viking came in and had to replace two parts, but for a brand-new appliance having two new different parts, having someone come in was not something I expected. In the future, I would stick with the actual cookware and not the auxiliary accessories.

I have the standard range and stovetop, but it's built well. Everything on it is really strong and really sturdy like it would be lasting a long time. I don't worry about if it's gonna break if I move to someplace I'm gonna have to be of if I'm gonna end up replacing it in the next five years. On top of that, I really like the timeless design, where it won't go out of style if I switch from plain marble to black marble. It's not something I'm gonna have to replace.

Viking Ranges is one of the brands you’d look at if you’re looking for a professional-style range. I've checked them out as I was doing a kitchen renovation. I’ve got a bit of an older model from them. It looks more clean and it’s not as fancy-looking. It's just simple, and I want it to work well and not look pretty. Performance-wise, I like how much heat it can put out and the consistency of that. It’s a lot more powerful. I like the high heat of it and also its ability to keep it below simmer. You can get it really low. Most ranges can’t hold such a low flame. The range has been great and I’m getting adjusted to cooking with it.

One of the things that I think was a bizarre design of the range is when you have the oven on and it gets to a temperature, it cycles on and off. And it seems like it cycles rather frequently. It’ll shut off and then you’ll hear, “Tick, tick, tick,” and then it will all fire back up. I thought there was a problem with it, so I called Viking just to understand. From what I understood, the newer models have this glow bar, and it’s a little bit different. I think they fixed that but changed the mechanism.

The Viking customer service were helpful and was okay. I had some problems at first when I got the range. When I was trying to get it troubleshot and have someone come out and take a look at something that there was a problem, it took them almost two weeks before they were able to get someone to me. That was just a little bit long, especially considering I just got the product. For people who likes to cook and can afford a range like Viking, I think it would be a good range for them to get.

With our Viking range, I like the quality and the way it distributes heat. But when our range was delivered, there were tapes inside the two glasses and we still have those in there. That's something that somebody is coming out to look at and they will take it out from there.

I wanted a classic gas stove and didn't want one with computers. The Viking range was simple and that was why I got it even though it was not as good as Wolf. But I had a question about the product because it was so hard to see one. I got the cheapest 30-inch range and the showrooms had none. I was told by a Ferguson person that there was two of this one and so she called and said, "Oh, one's not supposed to be there, they have upgraded it". I called Vikings to find out what they changed because the price was lower. The rep was short with me and she wasn't the best customer service.

Also, when I was buying it, I was told there was nobody to service it in Williamsburg. I told them that Port City does and so the rep called them and they go, "Yeah, we work on them". They even put it down on my sales receipt. The day after I got it, I roasted a bunch of vegetables and there was moisture in between the glass on the oven door. It didn't go away for four days. I called Ferguson and they called Port City who sent a guy out.

My stove has a middle burner that's oblong and it's one of the lowest BTUs. This one wouldn't light like the other one. The repair guy said that it was the same as the round one but there were more holes and that was normal. The installers said they were gonna replace the glass thing in the middle. But it's never done it again and now, I'm worried and I'm afraid to say, "Don't fix it" 'cause they'll say later, "Oh, you wouldn't let us fix it." The moisture does dissipate eventually and I have faith in my repair guy that he'll do it right 'cause I've known him for years. But since the day I got the oven until now, I still don't have the part. Other than that, everything seems fine to me.

We moved into a new house and wanted to get a new cooking range. We bought one from Viking, which is our second Viking range, and it's all gas. It's the smallest of the 500 series and 30 inches in size. I like the way it works for the most part and the fact that it doesn’t have a lot of electronics on the front. The soft-closed door and the roller-bearing shelves are nice, too.

The quality of our new range is pretty good. However, we’ve had two real and serious issues in the last six weeks that we’ve owned it. The first problem was that the cooling fan had a bad bearing. It was making a total racket and it was an issue right out of the box. But Kimball Electronics, one of Viking's factory authorized dealers, was able to replace the cooling fan. The second issue was that the oven would not light and it was very temperamental about getting the spark for the oven. But Kimball Electronics fixed that this week by putting in a new orifice where the gas comes into the oven and adjusting the air so the spark could ignite without spreading gas all over the kitchen. Kimbal Electroniics have been great and so far, we have been very pleased with Viking. We have been for many years and with our new range. We got the dishwasher special with that as well and the dishwasher has been good, too.

We had nothing but trouble with the Viking Range that we first received. It was a gas range, the simplest model that Viking makes and I felt like I got a lemon unit. We were without an oven for five weeks. I contacted Viking and I spoke with a gentleman named Tony who should have been responsible for resolving these kinds of issues. Basically, he said that Viking would only come and replace parts on the unit even though we had had the repairman out three times. He also said that they would restart our warranty once the range started working. Tony was nice but he had a very condescending attitude. He should not be dealing with end-users.

Viking never got me a new range and I am rather disappointed with them. They were exceedingly stubborn with replacing it. I didn’t even wanna go with the same model and I wanted to get a different one. I wanted to go to a dual convection and I would've paid the difference if Viking would've stepped in and did something about it. It took a lot of work and coordination that the consumer and the end-user should not have had to go through. I have never dealt with a more frustrating company and I’m astonished that they treat an end-user like that. It ruined my opinion of them.

The dealer I purchased it from replaced the range, and that was before Viking agreed to make the transfer. This was all done through the retailer. They brought a new one out and it worked right away, and it’s been working since then. Viking is a very good range while it’s been working, but with all the experience I had with the last unit, I was not happy. Any time that somebody will ask me about my range, I will be more than happy to tell them the story of how Viking basically did nothing.

Viking is a good product and it looks beautiful but the functionality is a big problem. I bought a high-end oven, thinking that it would be more efficient and I'd be able to get better use out of it. Instead, I'm having a problem with this brand-new and expensive oven that's over $5,000 after having it for less than two months. I've bought a lot of different appliances in my time and I've never run into a problem with an appliance immediately.

I asked my husband to preheat the oven and he had to shut it off because it wasn't turning on and there was a gas smell in the house. Also, the microwave is a little weird. The fan has two speeds but it certainly sounds the same to me. I reached out to where I purchased the oven from and they sent somebody to service it.

Fast forward to January 2019 - the oven does not work above 300 degrees. I was advised by Viking that service can schedule an appointment to look at the oven in mid February!!! After several calls, we were scheduled for service today. When nobody arrived - we were advised that Viking canceled the appointment 3 days ago, never advising us of the change. Not only does the product fail to meet its reputation, the customer service at Viking is reason alone never to buy another Viking product.

We've had Viking for the past 19 years. The entire time I've been married, my wife and I have had Viking Ranges in three houses that we've owned. We bought them brand-new and had solid experiences for the most part. We have a child with severe food allergy. She's in the top 1% of allergic people, so we can't go into most restaurants and we have to cook at home. We wanted a commercial-quality stove or range. However, I'm really disappointed with the newest range that we received from Viking.

We've always had gas on the top and also gas ovens, and we've always had the 48-inch ranges with the dual ovens. We bought a house that was remodeled back in November of '17, then we remodeled and moved in April of last year and we got a new range. We always wanna have gas on the stovetop because it is easier and we feel we have better control when cooking, but we went with electric for the ovens because we were told it was more consistent cooking. However, that is not the case. We bake and we use the ovens a lot. We cook at least two meals at home a day.

We had a technician come out and we got the issue settled with the gas burners, which our cleaning person was cleaning and not putting them back on appropriately so that they click into place. We asked about the ovens because a lot of times, we put croissants or bread in the morning and it's not cooking evenly at all. The technician’s response was, “Well, you should use the convection oven,” but I completely disagreed on that. The convection oven shouldn’t be used for everything. He also said, "The other thing is you should warm it up. You should spend an hour warming it up.” I thought that, in all practical matters, it was completely idiotic. We have a family and we have kids. We love the gas ovens and when we had the gas ovens, they heated up very quickly.

We have the professional range and we paid more to get the electric ovens. I paid $14,000 for it, but we are bummed that I did because I was advised by the people at the Warehouse Discount Center, which is a Viking dealer to sell, that the electronic ovens cook more evenly and that they are consistent. They do not cook evenly. Even the front and back are not even whether you are using the small oven or the larger oven, so it would make me not wanna buy a Viking range again or I definitely would never buy electric oven parts. If there was any way I could swap it out, I would probably swap it out and go gas.

Unfortunately, I have an oven now that is less than a year old and we can't stand it. It doesn’t do the job for us. It's a very high-end kitchen, but the oven stinks. My wife is a big vocal critic of it but if we had gas, we would be happy as clams. Everyone from Viking has been perfectly fine and everyone has done a great job, however, I'm bummed that we were advised that way and that I'm gonna be stuck with the electric oven for the next 30 years. I would never go with an electric oven to save my life ever again and I would never recommend Viking.

I purchased the Viking range in the summer and it has been physically operationally working for about three months. I had to have my kitchen redone, so we started with appliances first, then we installed it once the kitchen was pre-configured. It was a stand-up oven as opposed to a countertop. We’ve used it on several occasions and it has been great. The unit is very solid, has high BTU efficient, and has the gas top as well as the oven. It is a convection oven, which we never had before, so it has enhanced some of our food preparations by far. The appliance is quite heavy but that is part of the solid construction. Also, we haven’t used the self-cleaning function yet and we haven’t used the unit to a great extent.

The prices of Viking are fairly high in range, like Wolf, Milan, and other manufacturers and the price of the unit I purchased was much higher than I wanted to spend. The particular stove model we purchased is being discontinued, which didn't bother me because the product itself is what’s important and it doesn't mean it’s not gonna be supported by the manufacturer.

I’ve had Wolf, Jenn-Air, Thermador, and just recently BlueStar, and nothing comes close. My favorite feature is the broiler because that’s mostly how I cook a lot of fish, chicken, and so forth. They have a broiler that nobody else has. Wolf's broiler is not even 10% good. When I had bought that one, I said to the dealer, “These people just must like the red knobs because they couldn’t possibly cook.” Because the range was not even remotely close to a Viking and it was the same price range.

Supposedly, BlueStar had a similar one, but it really was not. The one I had came in damaged. They sent a new part, but that new part was damaged. Then there were a couple other problems with it. I literally made the dealer take it back and send me a Viking that I originally wanted. Overall, it’s really the quality. I’ve used Ferguson for a few purchases and they have been excellent. I've been cooking my whole life and my parents had a couple of Viking Ranges. I went with them as well because of the quality and a specific offering that they had that included a free dishwasher. The range is excellent. I like the simplicity, the quality, and the ability to rebuild, repair over time and the lack of any real computers and microprocessors.

But I have never been more disgusted in the service that I received from a company, let alone one that I've just given $5,000 to. I interacted with tech support a couple of times. The individual I was talking with was mumbling into the phone and acted like he was doing me a favor for helping me. He acted like my questions were completely ridiculous. When I talked to somebody at a call center in India for an appliance I bought at Home Depot, they treated me better than this. I had to tell him to put me on the phone with a different tech support person but they have no further help. I talked with people in the parts department who told me I was incorrect with regards to where the data tag was for where the serial number and model number were. It was an all-around garbage experience and they will never get another dime of my money.

I've since talked to other owners of Viking products as well as some technicians and they say that this is a common trend. I have written Viking and they've not gotten back to me. Quite frankly, my next purchase will not be a Viking because I've never encountered such pathetic treatment of a customer, especially one who thought they were buying a luxury brand which would come along with the support. I've just convinced somebody not to buy a Viking as a result of this because that is unacceptable to me.

I have been very happy with Viking. The downside of the Professional range that I have, is that there’s not a small burner and they’re all the same size. But other than that, I have not have any problems with them until just recently, when one of my ovens ran out. I looked online for a repairman and I was not happy with the first repairman that I saw. He came into my home, looked at my range and he called me back about a week later, and said that it was going to cost $1,700 for a new control panel, and two workers to repair it. That’s not right.

I did some research. I found another repairman that was Viking approved and it costed me just under 600 to repair my oven. There was a recall on it as well, so they did that. They took care of that in addition to fixing my oven. Probably, the biggest downside is that it’s hard to find good and honest repairmen for Viking products. But I have no complaints from my products. It’s a quality product. I’ve got an electric wall oven that I use constantly and gracefully. Thank God that it’s performing well. And I’ve used my products all the time. They all look pretty in my home.

My husband wanted a Viking range. We bought one and it has been terrible. We took in the dimensions of the range that we had in. Their guaranteed me it would fit and that the would be a half-inch further out than the existing range we had which was not a big deal at all. However, when their delivery guys got here, it stuck out 4 inches further. So, we had to cut into our granite to get it to fit. Also, their guys didn't bring a range cord with them to do the installation so we had to take the one off of our old range.

They also told us that the range would fit and that it won't stick out once we took the granite out. Still, because of the width of the plug, it stuck out. They eventually told me that they would come back three days later with a long enough gas hose and recess the plug in the wall. Instead, they came back with another gas hose that wasn't long enough. I have a 2-foot hose and a 4-foot one and they had two supply lines hooked together. The installers also scratched my floor. After all this, Viking has not been acceptable. Nobody wants to have two gas lines. It's just another spot for it to leak. At that point, I told them that I don't want them messing with my range. They already scratched the floor ones. My husband can change out the gas line and so we're gonna do it.

Yet another problem was that the door of the range wouldn't open so they sent out a text to fix that plate across the bottom. Three days later, we were actually going to use it for the first time and the light kept coming on. We called them out to fix that and it took a week for them to come out. When they did, the tech said that our hinges were busted so the door was stuck. They also didn't have the part with them so we had another 10 days without a stove.

The second time the installers left, they ran over my garbage cans and left them in the middle of the road. So, I called and talked to their guy and he told me that they would figure out what they were gonna do about my garbage cans and the scratches on the floor. However, we never heard back from him. I sent a message a week later telling him that I'm very disappointed with the service. We try and shop local, support smaller businesses, and it’s disappointing that they couldn't even get back to me. When I talked to him again, he said he thought I was gonna call him back. He also said that the only thing they would do was refund me the installation fee. Though they were gonna send somebody out to fix our floor, it would cost me. I'm not trusting anybody that they're gonna send out at this point.

We went to a local appliance store and looked at a number of different brands and models. I did some research online. Ultimately, after the salesperson had described the aspects of each, we settled on the Viking. Viking has that kind of a household cache to it. It seemed to have a good track record. My wife is an interior designer so she has helped clients choose their appliances, and the feedback she has gotten has been positive too. We like the looks of the range and the burner configuration was to our liking.

However, I wish it had a timer or a clock on it. We had to buy an auxiliary timer. Our previous stove had one and it was quite convenient. We had gotten used to that over the years so that was a bit inconvenient. Also, the dials are black on black, which makes it a bit tough to read. You have to get down low. If there was some contrast to the dials to make it easier to read, that would be an improvement. And the blower that cools the unit down is a bit annoying. It comes on a lot and lasts for quite a while.

We had to make a service call because the igniter was not catching and it was spewing gas into the kitchen. We had to call the Fire Department the first time it happened. It happened over the Christmas vacation so repairmen weren’t open, and the one appliance repairman who services our entire county was backed up for three weeks. We had to live with that problem for three weeks and that was very frustrating. We did finally get the technician in, and he took the range all apart, moved the igniter closer to the gas outlet, and we haven’t had a problem with it since.

We liked the Viking brand name and the look of their products. So, we redid our whole kitchen with all Viking and got their products through a dealer. Our Viking range is good and powerful but it is so much stronger than what I was used to, so I burned a pot early on. That has been a learning curve for me and I don't know if that’s in the materials because it’s sort of overwhelming when you get all new appliances and unpack from a renovation. That might be my fault but that could be somehow highlighted for other people.

Also, there was a problem with the range's starter from the beginning so I had to have that repaired. One of the grate panels rusted, too and it was replaced. But the black on the replacement is a little different though and it doesn’t match the others if you look at it. Plus, a little piece fell off of one of the grates and I still have to glue it. I paid for it and Viking was supposed to send us two pieces of that but they sent only one. I also find it difficult to clean or get stuff off the stove top, although I try to not worry about it as much. That has been a bit of a learning curve as well. We have the Viking range for a little over two years so far and I don’t think that these problems should have happened. That is not what I would expect.

I went to SR Appliances and I wanted something more high grade than Samsung, LG or anything like that. I'm very familiar with Viking and other brands but Viking stood out better to me in terms of price and value. SR Appliances was great to work with. I bought the range ahead of time. I picked it up and installed it along with my contractor. And then shortly after that, because we were going through some renovation, we didn’t want the range delivered until we were done. But the installation went well. The range is consistent and it cooks great. The BTUs in all the burners work great and cook evenly. I bake a lot and it just performs well. I’ve referred Viking to a couple of other people.

The parts for our Viking Range are well made. The knobs are sturdy and the grates lift up so you can clean underneath. It is very functional. We use it all the time and we've been very happy with it. However, the oven is a little on the powerful side and it doesn't function as labeled. We have to turn the temperature down and reduce the cook time with any recipe that we are following. But we've learned to work with it and sometimes, it's helpful if we're cooking something very hot.

My mom had a Viking range. I liked that it had the dual fuel and self-cleaning oven, so we got one too and we really like it. It is sturdy and seems very well-made, unlike some of those cheap or lower-end brands. I like all of its features. I like that the burner grates are individual, so they’re not so heavy to lift up. I saw that some other brands had only three burner grates or these were doubles, and I did not like having to pick up that heavy stuff. We went through Ferguson to buy our Viking range and they were great. We spent a lot of time looking into the range that we would buy because we just remodeled our whole kitchen and I’m hoping that our range will last for a very long time like my mom’s. I would recommend Viking.

When we remodeled our kitchen we splurged and bought a Viking range. In the eight years we've had it, we've had to replace the same part, DSI module, SEVEN TIMES...at an additional cost of nearly $3,000. Yet no one at Viking thinks there is anything wrong with our stove; we've simply had the bad luck of getting defective replacement electronic parts---seven times. And each time our oven goes out it's a good month and a half, sometimes two months, before we can get an authorized repairman out, get the replacement part ordered and another repair visit to install the new part. The part was just replaced three weeks ago and we used the stove exactly two times before it went out. Ridiculous! We are so disappointed. And fed up. We would've been better off keeping our old Kenmore range. For the price of our Viking, we could've purchased a brand new Kenmore every year, thrown it out and still be ahead. Don't waste your money on a Viking range.

Called Viking and they are closed until January 2 which has ruined our Christmas and New Years plans. Then the 3rd party service company that does warranty work ** says the part will not be in until February yet the Viking rep I spoke to says all the ten parts are in stock but their company is closed until January 2nd. Customer service was nice and tried to get the parts expedited but failed to tell me that the 3rd party service provider needed to put the order in before 4:30 pm on Thurs Dec 20 because they closed the warehouse on Dec 21st.

We just tried to bake biscuits in what is supposed to be the only working part, the oven in plain old bake mode. The top heating element comes on which burned the biscuits. The user manual shows that only the bottom element is supposed to come on. Extremely disappointed in this product and I just want to throw it in the trash as that is where it belongs. Something that costs $13,419 before tax should not have these rudimentary quality control issues. The Viking employees that built this trash should be ashamed of themselves! I can get a better quality product from the Big Box stores for a fraction of the cost.

I wanted a good quality commercial-grade range that I could count on. I’ve been familiar with Viking for quite some time. The dealer we had was very professional. I had been to another dealer that was less than desirable to the point that I was almost insulted that they never even acknowledged that my wife and I were there. I researched and found the Athens Refrigeration. When we walked in the store, it was completely different. They were very patient and informative. They spent all the time that we needed and they would have spent more had I needed it.

We bought an electric French door Viking oven and a range with the gas. We converted to gas when we made the change. We’re liking the gas more than the electric. We haven’t had our range long but so far I’m pleased with it. I also plan to visit the Viking store. I’ve been there before in Greenwood and the cooking school.

We needed the liquid propane and so instead, we got natural gas and had to do the conversion and had to get reimbursed by the dealer. It was not a pleasant experience. Our house had a Viking Range in it so we had to buy a Viking Range to replace it. However, the dealers were terrible. We went to two different places and they both wanted to sell me something that isn’t in stock. They told me, “Oh, yeah. We can get it and we’ll have it in such and such period of time.” Then they wait 24 hours or so and then called me and said, “Oh, I am sorry. We just learned that this is backordered and you’re not gonna get it until hell freezes over.” So I canceled one order with one dealer, then went to another one but they pulled the same stunt on us. But it was nice that we got an extra microwave and a 5% rebate, both offered by Viking. Also, I like the small oven and the hood.

The construction company of the management company of the unit that we moved into had decided to put Viking in. We have a Viking refrigerator and a Viking freezer, and they are definitely much better and more reliable. I like the features that they have now compared to the freezer and fridge that they had before.

We've been using Viking since we moved in in July, and I don't feel good about the quality of the range. One of the five burners is completely defective, so that’s being replaced now as it’s part of the warranty. It has taken a very long time for the local company to get the part, come out and replace it, but they’re coming out next week. At the same time, two or three of the other burners are incredibly hard to ignite and turn on.

A technician had come out to review the issue a couple of weeks ago and he said what we need to do is to maintain the unit, so we’ve done all of that. I’ve cleaned out all of the surrounding areas. Still, it doesn’t really matter because the burner is barely igniting and it’s becoming really difficult to kinda get it to start working reliably. So, he’s gonna look at the other burners when he comes out again. It’s like this issue back to the company that’s doing the service call. Basically, two of the other burners are going down the same path that the one that is completely defective went down, and my fear is that the two burners are also defunct. But the tech will confirm if it’s a service related issue or not. We have to wait and see what happens.

Viking Ranges is a name that speaks for itself. Everything I’ve ever heard has always been good. We went with them because of the reputation and we were dealing with the warehouse that had one Viking stove that was the right size and had the right looks of it. However, there were a lot of issues. One of the burners didn’t work and the oven would turn itself off after I turned it on. It also wouldn’t maintain the heat. It would be cold in the front and hot in the back. We had a company come in at first, but they kinda oversold themselves and they didn’t know what to do. They put it back together and said they couldn’t fix it. Another fellow from a different company came and we were super pleased with him. He was very professional and he knew his stuff. He seized up what was wrong. Our dilemma was we don’t have a gas line, so we had to go with propane and we bought a stove that was not propane.

They had to alter it. The first company thought it was just a simple fix, but it wasn’t. They had to adjust all the frames. The second guy fixed it and ordered the parts, although it took forever to get the parts. But he consistently called us and said he was working on it. They were supposed to be coming and it did. He called, came, and fixed it. However, it was a new stove, so I don’t understand why it has so many things wrong with it. Everything’s working fine and it’s good now. It maintains temperature. I made some chocolate cookie chips and they came out great. On the bottom or on the top, they were perfect. It’s a wonderful stove, but I’m a little apprehensive to recommend it because of the start-up problems we had. It definitely was a problem when we got it and it was not lightweight. You don’t wanna be taking things in and out because it is a big stove, it is a double oven.

I've used Viking for a couple of decades in my home. Viking's range has an 18,000 BTU burner on one side and the other ones are 15,000, whereas the main competitor, Wolf, has 15,000, 15,000, 9,000 and 5,000. However, I don’t like the new design. It used to be a more commercial-looking cookware and it has become more blingy now than it used to be. It also got shiny rings on it that I didn’t know I was gonna get. The quality is fine, though. I like the new slide-out drawers and that the light turns on when the door opens. The little lights that illuminate the numbers on the dials are nice. We have a Viking stove in our city home and we bought another one for our weekend home, and the new one doesn’t simmer as low as the old one.

Viking's dealer just does the minimum. I ask a question and they give me one answer. They don’t try to be accommodating. Instead, they need to do value because they were the only one that would service the warranty in the area. Also, we had no choice but to buy the range from them. I ordered an eight-inch skirt on top of the back of the stove, but it didn’t arrive, so they had to come and install it and they had to come back again. They were not very flexible when they could come back. There was also a microwave that was a gift and I chose an install kit as a promotion gift, but they didn’t order the install kit even though I put in the form clearly. There were many steps to get the simplest order through.

Being an old Viking customer, it's really tricky to get things repaired and the parts are extremely expensive. When I talked to a couple of dealers, they were pointing the client towards Wolf because they feel that Viking’s quality has dropped and that the repair is very expensive. In the end, I bought Viking because I wanted the 18,000 versus the 15,000-burner, and that’s what pushed me back towards going with Viking. We have a friend in the city that just renovated their apartment and they bought a Wolf. We asked them why they bought a Wolf and they said that the dealers told them that Viking has gone down and it is not what they used to be. We had an issue with the old one being that all the colors wear off after a while. All the markings rubbed off and the repair is lengthy and expensive. But other than that, it works fine.

Also, I like its sturdiness, the rollout shelves, the LED lighting over the little controls, the handles and everything about it.

My husband was good with Viking. He is a contractor and he did the installation. My plumber had roughed out the gas line, according to the install directions, and then when the actual oven showed up, you couldn’t install where that gas line was. My husband called Viking and explained the problem about their drawings. That went well but we had to move the gas line which was not great. Still, people should go for Viking Ranges. Our Viking Adventure. In 2012 we started planning for a major remodel to our home, and part of this was gutting and updating the Kitchen. One of our choices for the kitchen update was an 8 burner (6+griddle) gas and electric range. We had always been Thermador and Sub Zero people having used these products with no issues in two previous homes for 25+ years.

Viking had always had a big reputation in the range market so we decided to try one of their products and in early 2013 we purchased a new Viking range from Setzer's Appliance in Ocala, FL along with other non-Viking major appliances. The range was installed in fall of 2013 by a professional installer, along with all the other appliances, at a charge of 250$ per appliance. Initially we were thrilled with the new toys but then the igniters on the range had to be replaced. This was covered under warranty. Then the doors started sagging and wouldn't seal. Viking tried to fix this on two occasions but the issues never did get resolved.

Then the small oven wouldn't maintain temperature, often being off as much as 100 degrees. The range was still under warranty and they attempted to fix this... they got it close but it never did work reliably. There were several service calls over the next few years, all documented and covered by warranty covering mainly issues with the ovens not working properly. We also had a very... irresponsible and grouchy, shall we say? local service person in the Gainesville, FL area.

In August of 2018 the small oven again started not maintaining temp by more than 100 degrees. We called our local service man and he gave us an appointment time a week from that day... which he missed. We called him after the no show and he said "oops, I forgot.... be there by 1 tomorrow". He showed up, turned on the oven, borrowed a thermometer and said "the bad news is you need a new control board and it is 600$". We told him to hold off until we contacted Viking and he took his check for the service call and headed down the road.

We contacted Viking and the service rep said to have the tech email him the info on the range so he could see if Viking could do anything despite the range being out of warranty "because of the extensive list of issues on the service history". We called the service tech and he said he was driving and would call back for the email address when he got back to his office. Never called. Called him a week later, again, driving... will call back when I can. Never called. This went on for almost 6 weeks before we contacted Viking again and laid it all out... he was very helpful and said, "Send me all this in writing and I will see what I can do and try to find you another service tech". After a month or so it boiled down to "sorry, nothing we can do" including apparently the inability to even provide another service tech in all of north Florida.

We are now pursuing getting the range repaired on our own and with a rather bad opinion of our 13,000.00 Viking range. It may be petty but I take some small pleasure in knowing for a fact that at least three other couples purchased products from other makers after hearing about our experience over the last few years. So, while I know there must be a reason for Viking's reputation over the years I and my wife are... less than impressed.

We bought the Viking Series 7 48” Dual fuel range with the ViChrome griddle for our remodel. The range looks really good, unfortunately we need one that works as well. Let me start with what works well. The burners are very nice, delivering consistent heat. The stove top is easy to clean with few nooks and crannies. Now for the things that don’t work well. The ViChrome griddle looks good but a horrible surface to cook on. The only thing that doesn’t stick like superglue to the surface is pancakes, as long as we use ghee. Any other fat or oil does not work at all. The surface is very difficult to clean. The griddle itself has a problem that there is a high temperature difference between front and back. The back will burn things while the front will undercook. Only about a 6” piece of the griddle cooks at the set temp. I had the workings of the griddle changed out by Viking service but it did not change a thing. We gave up using it as it’s not worth the trouble.

By far the biggest disappointments are the two electric ovens. There is also a large temp difference between front and back of the ovens, upwards of 10 degrees. This too was addressed by Viking service but no change. The only way to get even cooking is to manually rotate the dish. The convection fan sounds like a jet engine and makes this very large range shake. Viking service replaced the fan in the larger oven but it shakes now more than ever. We gave up using the convection ovens as the noise and shaking are just too much to stomach particularly given the $15,000 price tag.

Finally, each oven has a heating element at the top which shuts off when oven reaches temperature, unfortunately it will kick on during cooking when oven is at temp and proceed to burn whatever it is we are cooking. I lost count of how many dishes have been ruined by this. We have to watch the heating element constantly to insure the dishes don’t burn. The range looks great, but what a huge disappointment. I am a second generation Viking customer, growing up with the older models that built the great Viking name. There will not be a third generation Viking customer in my family. There are better products out there a 1/4th the price.

So far, the range is wonderful. The oven cooks very quickly and it’s different from any other ovens I’ve ever had. I like the convection in it. I also like the fact that we have the grate on top where we could grill. Although we bought that separately from the stove, you could grill things on it and make pancakes on the other side. The oven is sturdy and easy to clean. But I'm not too happy about the shelves. They don't come out very easily and they stick out a bit. You can't get a round pizza pan in there. Also, the fascia came bent twice. It came right off the box that way. So the second time, we just had the installer push it back up. But all in all, our experience with Viking has been pretty satisfying. The oven works very well as far as cooking food.

Of the three Viking appliances I recently purchased, I love the range and dishwasher, however this is a 1-star review and that is due to the refrigerator having been nothing but problems. Viking sent a 3rd party repair person to correct the issue. Due to my location (apparently) it took the repair company 2 weeks to get out here, 5 weeks to order parts and another week to return. I live an hour outside of Pittsburgh and an hour from Cleveland, so the location really shouldn't be a problem.

However, I waited 2 months to get the refrigerator fixed (it freezes our food - even when set to 37 degrees). The problem still persists. I called Viking Customer Care again today, and expressed my frustration not only with the quality of the product, but also the time it took (2 months) to get the repair parts installed and that didn't even fix the issue. I think Viking refrigerators are generally great, but I got a defective unit. And rather than send me a replacement unit (since we've already gone down the repair path). Viking is sending another repair technician to my home.

The customer care representative, asked for my serial number. After providing it, she indicated that it wasn't valid - which she confirmed later on in our conversation that it was indeed correct. I also had to repeat my address several times. When she would look up a service option, and return to the screen she told me my address was gone. My appliances are all registered on Viking's website, why the customer care representative wasn't able to pull my information from that or from my previous support case seems counter-intuitive. For a supposed higher quality appliance, I'm disappointed I wasn't provided higher quality of service. And I have to wonder how many times I'll be doing this until my refrigerator works as advertised, or until I give up and get rid of the unit. I NEVER had this issue with my Sub-Zero!

So, new refrigerator and freezer to replace a defective Viking product previously installed. The installers were amateurs. They came by to survey the house to make certain they could get the equipment in, but still brought the wrong equipment to get the units in the house. They also did not bring the correct tools to complete the installation. They had to borrow from another contractor that I had working at the house and from me to get the units installed. Totally unacceptable. Finally installed, and the freezer doesn't make ice, really???

After two additional trips, someone determines that the wrong switch was installed on the freezer by the factory. It took over 5 WEEKS to get this resolved, TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I tried to buy American and local, I live in Mississippi, but I get torpedoed by Viking's total ineptitude at building products and by Viking's installation agent's complete incompetence. I will NEVER recommend Viking for ANYTHING. Your products are totally inferior and installation is an abomination.

We were replacing our old Thermador and I assumed Viking was a fairly good product. I like the look of them but I’m a little disappointed. It is not very good and I would tell others to rethink their decision to buy one. My oven has been installed for two months and I have had repairmen here for the last two months as well. Hinges on the oven were bent. They finally came and fixed that. But they had to get the feet for the oven because they didn’t have them when they installed the oven.

Now, I’m having a problem with my burners. It has taken me two visits and they’re still not fixed. And every time they come out, there is a time period in between of two weeks. Then the repairman was telling me today that it is going to take probably another two weeks. When he came out previously, he seemed to have been of the forethought that what he was being told was not gonna fix it. And yet, he was still told to come out here and do it. So he came out here and did he was told but it still didn’t work. Now, they have to order all new burners.

It's just ongoing after two months. It’s been a roundabout, circular motion here with this whole thing. I was very angry to begin with but now, I don’t even know anymore. It’s two months and $10,000, and I haven’t really even used the oven. Viking also needs to be more responsive. Initially, they kept calling to ask if everything was good and I kept saying no. It was great that they called but then it wavered and petered out. Viking has dropped off as far as calling to see if anything has been done and now, it’s me dealing with the repair people.

We had a Viking in our town home a number of years ago. We decided to buy from them because of their reputation and the fact that we like having the range with glass. The range has been awesome. It’s bigger and it’s a great brand. I would recommend it.

I bought a house with a Viking range and so far, so good. The Viking reps came in and they did a great job. There are two ovens and I'm satisfied. Viking is great.

My Viking range is great. I love the ease of how quickly it cooks. It's not necessarily the easiest to install but everything's worked out fine. I've had a couple of issues but it's been more from shipping than anything. I reached out to the dealer that I purchased the range from, and then a guy came out from a three-week sabbatical and I haven't heard back from them. I'm also supposed to get a rebate but I can't get anybody to call me back about it. Viking is obviously very busy and they're stretched a little thin, but it's frustrating because nobody seems to respond.

I saw the Viking range in the store and I liked the look of it. When I bought it, the dealer had good service and turnaround time. So far, it seems to be a very good product.

I’ve known about Viking Ranges for a long time and I like the features of the Series 7. I bought my range from Bade Appliances where they had it on display. The quality of the range is very good and the convection bake is my favorite feature. I use it everyday to cook some chicken for my dog, and it’s very fast. The chicken comes out very flavorful and moist too.

I have had a fine experience with Viking so far. Their reputation made me go with them over other retailers, and their reps are very helpful. I called about changing the color and getting a different cover for it, and my interaction with them went well.
