    I have tried numerous (5-6) times to speak with someone or have someone contact me regarding my parent's house. She died 10/2022 and he died 12/2022. House was sold 02/23/2023. No one will respond to me. They billed the account after the house was sold. Last week I received a new sign in the mail. Do you know where I want to put that sign?? I do. 2 parents die unexpectedly in a two month period and I spend all my time trying to cancel security on their house. Is there a negative star?

    While we’ve had issues with cameras at our house, today’s service visit was scheduled to replace batteries and fix a couple issues we had getting our system to arm correctly.     I knew a business that used Vector. Within 4 days of installation, the motion detector in 1 room either wasn’t set up properly or had a bad battery. Even though my husband talked to support around 6am & 8am & even though both of us acknowledged it by pressing 1, calls continued to us & our backup contacts. Not a good start!     Be aware that you are locked into a contract with Vector Security so if you try to cancel your service for any reason you are responsible for the payment until the contract date is over. My contract was for three years and I could not get out of it early.

It is impossible to contact Vector by phone which is not good for business. Vector should establish to maintain the lines of communication are free and accessible.

    *Have had issues with the system virtually every day. *Smoke alarm trouble, replaced alarm, still issues. *1 day set alarm, went out, came home and entered code and it said invalid code. Enter valid code. Nothing worked, it timed out and alarm sounded. I removed panel but alarm still on. After 2 min. it stopped. I was trying to call GOL Security, knock on door, when I opened door there was a 6-fireman crew and Truck out front in response to alarm. So, I'm trying to cancel but to do that they want me to pay over $2100.

    Chose Vector because a friend recommended them. Should have gotten a RING camera and will plan to do that. These cameras are too easy to disable. Difficult to reset. I have changed routers and need to hook them up. I have tried to do this on my own. They need to give their techs a script of how to show the consumer how to reset the device- with pictures, etc. They also need to tell the consumer how to protect the device so another can't fiddle with it manually or through an app.

    Service call to change security system communication method from landline to cellular phone was handled expertly by Jay. He called ahead and arrived on time as scheduled.     On Nov. 1, 2022 Steve ** came to my home and sold me/convinced me/promised me the Vector system was better than the ADT system I had used for 30 years. I was told the Vector would work with my PC Desktop. I do not have a smartphone and ** was fully aware of that fact. ** told me also worked and installed for ADT, I asked him if he would notify ADT that service had been stopped and his answer was: "...No, we should wait and see if it works". I have struggled with the system installed, it has not functioned properly since day one, I have spoken with Vector and ADT representatives numerous times and the Vector system has not worked YET. The front door camera does not connect with the control panel, they came 3 times or more trying to get it to work. But it has NOT worked yet.

    I consider the contract worthless/invalid because Vector and ** have stalled, avoided dealing with this issue. ** told me they had my name on a 5-year contract and that Vector (or GOL Security) would force me to honor the contract, would turn me over for collection if I didn't pay, and that they would ruin my credit rating. I begged ** to take out Vector and reconnect my hard-wired ADT system which is still intact. ** refused. He told me he was a "Christian" and was sorry this had happened to me. This is just a short version of what happened since Nov. 1, 2022.

    But that is the last contact I had with **. I have talked with Vector people who were ‘understanding’ initially, but subsequently they stalled and when I asked for their disconnect service they gave me phone numbers that directed me to other numbers and no one ever answered those calls, last time I tried I waited 37 minutes for someone to answer. I am 80 years of age, I feel I have been misled/conned/deceived to the point of fraud.

    My alarm did not activate when we entered our residence on March 18, 2023 for approximately 20-30 minutes. The alarm only activated when we opened the rear door. We were surprised by the alarm since we had been in the house. My husband thought he canceled the alarm on the phone app. Then we received a call, we couldn’t remember our password. Police were dispatched. I called and left a message for the service department because I wanted to know why the alarm didn’t activate when we entered our residence. Renee from the service department called me on March 20, 2023 and instructed us to do some steps to clear our zones. We then tested the system and it worked correctly.

    Renee seemed irritated that I wanted to test the alarm while she was on the phone but she agreed to stay on the phone reluctantly. I inquired about what caused the alarm not to work properly and should someone come and check it. Renee obviously very irritated told me she could create a service call and we would have to pay $90/hour and some additional fees because we are outside the warranty period. I advised Renee that I would be looking for a new alarm company and she hung up on me. I called back to get her name to write this review. Obviously we are looking into getting a new alarm company that will provide better customer service. Our alarm was activated on Saturday afternoon and I couldn’t speak with anyone until Monday and the person was not helpful and very irritated. I would not recommend Vector Security.

    I have no actual security systems properly integrated. I hear smoke alarms chipper, failure of smoke alarms to be connected immediately to inform the fire department. Carbon Monoxide sensors and alarms fail to work. Panel fails to stop even if we press right security codes/buttons. Regularly get broken into even when I or my family is home. I have a three year contract plus ruined security cameras replaced 6 times by another firm. Installer damaged my computer. Cost for service after initial call would be $500 labor I was told- plus panel costs without proper repair or replacement by Vector based security services. Already tried to cancel contract. Had to write HQ Vector which is now 100% owned by Larry Fink/Blackrock ESG which hates all fossil fuels plus USA citizens who have been given FREEDOM.

    We had an older hardwired system in the house forever. It had been replaced multiple times over the years and was a "rats nest" of wire in the panel. Vector was the only company that was willing to keep the system hardwired. Kevin the tech from Vector completely rewired the alarm panel in the basement. He removed all the wires that were no longer in use. He tested and replace old worn-out doors, motion, etc. Kevin work on the alarm panel looks great! He took the time to explain the new system to my wife and I. He also walked us around the house to explain how he would run the wires for the cameras without having any exposed.     Updated on 3/8/2023: I pay for security monitoring with three doors alarmed. Recently one door was found to be deteriorating and unstable. I replaced the door and called to have the new door place contacts on it. It took several contacts to get a reply and then was told to have the new door placed with contacts it would cost me $197.00. I feel that since I am paying monthly for service there should be no charge to me. I contacted other alarm companies and was told they charge nothing to maintain their equipment even if I replace the material it mounted on.

    Original review: I have called several times asking for someone to come and alarm a new door. No one calls back nor come to my house. I will give you to March 15 to correct this then I will cancel my contract for lack of service and go to another company.

    Someone threw a brick through my window. I had the shatter glass break system and The alarm never turned on. I called the police to make a report. I also called Vector security to let them know the issue. It’s been weeks!! I have not received a single call from the technical support team nor the manager. Although I was promised one.

    Today is 02/26/23. I came home after grocery shopping. My house was set on “stay”. I opened the door set all my groceries down. Turned over and noticed the red light was armed. But no sirens. I punched in my code. And the green light was back on to disabled the alarm. I immediately called the company. They say they do not keep records, of when the alarm is on nor when we punched in the code to disable the alarm. If that’s the case? If a real incident occur, how are these documented? What happens if everyone in the house is asleep, and someone walked in the door while the alarm is set as “stay”?? I don’t want to even imagine the outcome. There’s obviously issues with the system!! Again, I was told that I will receive a phone call from the support team and the manager. I am waiting to see how long it will take this time for a single phone call, and what they can do to address the issue! I have been with that the vector security for four years.

    My dad is 89 years old and his pendant neck alert went out. Called Vector and was told it would be almost 2 weeks to get checked with appt being set for 5-7 pm on a Tuesday. Rep did not show but called at 7:30 and was 45 mins away so we set at 5:30 next afternoon. He did not show by 6:30 but called at 7 and was still a number of miles away, so we set up at 9AM the next morning. He showed at 9:45, told us unit need to be upgraded, but disconnected wiring so system does not work now. We signed new contract by email over the weekend and I was told today the tech would not be able to do the job until Feb 16—2 weeks away. Does not sound like good service to me.

    We switched from Guardian to Vector. A mistake. I don’t feel like they’re really committed to adequately servicing the clients. Remote pad rarely works no matter where we put it. We got conflicting info when we called ranging from “yeah those units don’t really work well” to "you just need a software update." And when we asked to have a tech come check it out a guy came that had no solution and we were charged a “fuel charge” for his trip because he had to come from Md.

    I am 86 and do not get on step stools or ladders anymore. I feel that $40.00 is a very hefty fee to pay when I need the battery in my alarm replaced. I have had Vector for 15 years and have no complaint until this incident. I know prices on everything are rising, but $40.00 seems excessive for what was done. If I were able, I would do it myself; however, I don't plan on taking chances with falling and ending up in a hospital.

    I would not recommend Vector Security service! They have terrible customer service. Anytime you have any issues, they just refer to the contract “well you’re under contract until **, so you will still be billed”. Our video footage stopped working several times and we were told it’s because other people moved in the area with no resolution. We were continuously charged for services with nothing being fixed. It’s clear why they have a 3 year contract because without it, they’d lose business.

    I was a vector customer for more than 10 years. I had a fire event more than a year ago. My vector system was ineffective in preventing or helping or halting the event. Vector has continued to bill me since that time even though I was no longer connected in any way to their monitoring system. At least twice I contacted a vector representative who promised that the billing would be corrected. It was corrected once and then the billing started all over again including threats of putting my account on collection. My insurance company has taken me off their 10% reduction program almost 1 year ago because They know I am not connected. What does it take to get through your bureaucracy? I am so fed up same that I would probably never recommend Vector to anyone....

    We chose Vector Security because their equipment was already in the house we bought. That was mistake number one. Three of the first 6 months of service we had vector it was inoperable. We were not able to access or use the alarm system in any way. We had someone break into my work truck that is parked right under the camera and called in to see if they could pull the video, which we were told “it records 24/7 and you can call in to get any video any time” and they could not retrieve the video. So much for a “monitoring” company. All they monitor is making sure you pay them every month.

    When we called to disconnect our service because we sold the house we were going to add vector to our new house when it’s finished and they told us we didn’t owe anything and we were good to go. Then we moved out of the house after 4 years of “service” they said we owed the $452 more dollars because we had 3 years left of contract. A contract which was signed to upgrade our equipment because their old outdated equipment no longer worked with newer cell towers. Instead of offering to move our contract to our new home they just said “we can set up payments if you want.” Absolutely an incompetent company that doesn’t have their business organized. Would not recommend to anyone.

    Can you please help us with a continuing problem with our Vector Security system? After we purchased our house in the Fall of 2019, we signed up for Vector Security. After we moved in we noticed that the battery on the security system needed replacement. So we replaced it in 2019. But we kept getting a low battery alarm and replaced the battery again in 2020 and then needed to do it again in 2021 and in October 2022. When we got a low battery alarm again, we called Vector Security and had a service call on11/8/2022. Jerry Antonio ** from Vector Security told us that the new battery that we had just installed was no good.

    He insisted that we needed a new battery and charged us $181 to replace battery and the wall charger in garage (but the receipt didn't show a new Honeywell 1361-GT transformer was installed). Today we received a low battery alarm again! I conducted a walk test, which cleared the low battery notice. But it seems possible that Jerry did not find the cause of the low batter alarm and charged us to replace a new battery with another new battery. Since his repair was only last month, we feel that Vector should come back and fix the system without charging us again. Could you please investigate this problem and let us know what can be done?

    Except for service which is absolutely impossible dealing w Vector is a positive experience. They do a fine job w alarms, placing calls, sending police. Most people are very gracious and helpful. Major problem is SERVICE. The wait time for phone to reach service can easily be 45 minutes and the time until one receives a service call two weeks. This is unacceptable. We’ve had a battery issue for a few months. The first person who eventually came refused to check all the batteries. No sooner did he leave than more smoke detectors began to beep. Vector should be able to do better.

    We are already customers. We were upgrading a second time. Second tech was late. Explained expectations and requests to first tech. We expected building codes to be followed. Fastener schedule was not followed. Proper fire stopping for a fire wall was not used again. Some cabling was placed in a way that created obstruction rather than using an indirect route that would have prevented it. I asked to have the insulation that was altered by your previous techs to be reinstalled properly and anything altered to put back where it began. It was not. I asked that any easily accessible cameras be cleaned while they were in the vicinity. They were not.

    Upon completion, I asked if all of the requested work had been completed and received an affirmative answer. Obviously, this isn't accurate and if they wouldn't, couldn't or were refusing to complete requested work, this should have been communicated. It appears that time was not a factor since the work was completed in approximately six hours. The cameras appear to installed properly and adjusted as best as possible.

    We chose Vector a few days after we closed on our home 12 years ago. We only upgraded 10 years later to wireless because of getting ride of home phone. I asked questions about getting a Ring doorbell they said no problem we have it to (skybell) and since we were customers for so long they will get someone out there to install it for free. They changed the panel and installed the doorbell. A year later I divorce and only removed ex name. A year later I moved and wanted to bring them with me to my new house. Customer service said I owed close to $1000 To get out of my contract.

    I said what contract, all I did what remove my ex’s name and wanted a ring doorbell that I could have bought for $150 at Best Buy’s she said for all the equipment in the house and I didn’t give them enough time to sell to the new homeowners. This was in February 2022. I paid it. But will never use them again. 12 years of loyalty to them and they do this. I paid the difference on my monthly bill for every upgrade. But at the end I had to pay $1000 to them.
