    My community has a contract with Vector alarms. I had beeping and called for help. Left messages from 9 AM till 5 PM. Nobody called me back. Still have the problem. Wakes me up during the night. No live person to speak to. All recordings. No return calls. No help. Horrible service!

    Nothing but problems with Vector for the past 4 months. No monitoring being done, but payment continued to be drafted although we requested multiple times that service be discontinued. Trevor has proved to be the most inept customer service representative I have ever dealt with. We are working with our bank today to refuse future drafts. You currently owe us $125+ for the months you drafted our account with no monitoring done after multiple requests to discontinue service.

    I chose Vector Security because of a persuasive salesperson. What a huge mistake. Smoke alarms would go off for no apparent reason. We sent message after message asking for help. Sadly, we never received a return call or a visit for service. My advice, go to any other Security Service you can find. Nothing could be worse.

    When I first got my Vector Security alarm system I was told in 5 yrs it would be paid for and so in those 5 yrs my alarms didn't go off at all but in the last 18 months it has went off 3 times. One time I we bought a battery ourselves but the tech came out the other two times, why the battery didn't go dead in those 5 yrs.? The alarm system suppose to be mines but my monthly fee was the same, why?

    So far, I am getting some of the security and not all of it because when I leave and set away alarm when I come back, it’s not working. When I come back I can just walk in my house. The alarm does not go off for nothing but otherwise I like the alarm system. I set it at night and it be on all night, but when I go away for a week or so, it not working, I hope someone can check that out for me. I appreciate it.

    Purchased alarm system in recommendation of builder sales rep. When alarm system including security cameras were installed the installer left forgetting the front bedroom. The doorbell continued ringing and I was told the system was not compatible with the door chime and would have to get an electrician. I had to disconnect the doorbell myself to stop the ringing. I had also had to have an electrician come to connect the Wi-Fi thermostat which the security company credited me $125 for. Lastly, I was promised a $465 refund to have an electrician who charged me $590 to correct the incompatibility issue with the doorbell which 3 months later I still haven’t received. And one of my outdoor security cameras is not working properly. Knowing all this I probably would not have chosen Vector security. Do your homework. Research your security companies prior to selecting one.

    When I first drove in this neighborhood, I saw a Vector van servicing another residence. Frank offered professional services and was candid and forthright.     It’s 2024 and the lagging is ridiculous! When I go to open app to view footage, it lags for way too long. By the time I’m able to view who is at my door, the person is either walking off or even disappeared, due to loading so slowly! Also, why aren’t we able to have accesses to our front doorbell camera to modify? Says the rule can only be edited through the website, which is untrue. Now here is my major issue and why: The clips are entirely too short! Why don’t we have an option to record the whole interaction, while someone is at the door like Ring does!? I have mine set to record every 30 seconds, which is the shortest delay option, but it doesn’t pick the recording back up after being triggered! It just stops recording all together.

    I had a random person show up at my door at 3:30am after walking around my home. Once he rang doorbell - 30 seconds later, recording stopped and that was it!! The guy could’ve broken into my home, and guess what… it wouldn’t have been recorded!!! It also never showed him leaving, didn’t record anything else after the initial 30 seconds of him ringing doorbell. For all I know, he could still be sitting out on my front door - all thanks to the lack of recording time options. ** MAJOR SAFTEY CONCERN and the whole reason we got security cameras to begin with. To feel safe, and have evidence if anything ever does occur. Please take notes on how Ring security operates, and give us the option to record longer, fix the lagging, and honestly… the camera quality sucks compared to Ring and other security companies. Especially the video footage quality at night and/or on a cloudy day. Like I said, it’s 2024, and these simple issues should be a non-factor.

    A few night ago my wife was at the washing machine and dropped the lid accidentally. The alarm went off and within about 30 seconds she manually reset it. In the past your people called to see if all was okay. No call. Just yesterday we were traveling and I received a message that the door was open. The alarm did NOT go off just the message on my phone. I called my brother to see if he was there and he was not. I asked a neighbor to stop by and all was okay.     I’ve been having multiple issues with my system that has caused me to contact technical support on multiple occasions. It’s got to the point where I would just troubleshoot and try to fix the issue myself due to no one ever being available to accept my call or I would have to wait multiple days just to receive a callback. For example, the most recent experience I’ve had where I feel as if Vector has continued to drop the ball with my concerns is I had a sensor error that would continue to go off either late at night or early in the morning. I called several times this past week and left a message about my issue. I have yet to hear back from any of your agents to assist me with resolving this issue. I take my family’s safety very seriously and based on YOUR company’s actions, I have no other choice but to believe that they don’t.

    I have faulty equipment that I have to continue to reset and attempt to troubleshoot on my own just because I’m not receiving any assistance from your company and by the time that I do receive a callback, I have already either resolved the issue on my own or choose to not even continue with troubleshooting with them because I don’t have the time. It’s exhausting giving your company my hard-earned money every month (and I don’t appreciate these people calling me every month to harass me about a payment that I have already made) to just receive subpar, below-average service. So as a request to resolve this situation amicably, I wanted to see if we could negotiate an arrangement for me to exit Vector as my security company because that is one thing that your company has not provided me and my family with… SECURITY.

    Our product disconnected from the internet and stopped working almost a year ago. The cameras are so high that we cannot access them to reset. I contacted technical support so maybe one of their technicians could come out and disconnect the wired alarm and cameras, I was treated like dirt. I was willing to pay for 1 of their technician to come out, I was told that would be an insurance risk. I think since I had been such a loyal customer, I should have been treated much better.     My community pays yearly for alarm service so we have no choice. For the past year Vector has been notifying me monthly by auto voicemail that no signal is being received from my home. In May I had Vector technician come to remedy this issue only to have it come back 60 days later. I even paid $140.00 so I didn’t have to deal with it going forward… Unfortunately the issue still exists and is being blamed on Comcast/landline! Comcast came and after spending over 30 minutes concluded the landline is functioning properly. NOW what??? Vector refuses to come back unless I am willing to pay AGAIN!

    We chose Vector since the existing system was already built. Almost all existing components were compatible keeping our upgrade costs down. Since our smoke detectors were not monitored it was important to upgrade to get them on the alarm system.     We have not actively needed to use our system due to its outdated technology. Other much less expensive options are a better choice. Also they automatically renew a contract and make it extremely difficult to cancel services.     Was not told about being locked into a 3 year contract until all my cameras around the house were installed. Was told to mail in my written notice to cancel the auto renewal but Latasha ** will not respond to my emails anymore to confirm she received it. I have emailed her 3 times over the course of 8 months. The actual application is terrible, the cameras are not good, and the service is bad. The company Ring has better cameras, better app, more user friendly UX and better customer service. They also don't lock you into a 3-year contract. I am moving and now have to pay for 2 years that I will not be using this. That's ridiculous.

    On October 31, 2023 I received a call while at my place of employment from my sister that Vector called stating there was a back door error message received at my home. I googled the number for Vector put in the zip code for my service location and was transferred to the Raleigh area. I sat on the phone for a very long time (mind you while on a break at work which turned into my lunch time given the length of the wait). the young lady who answered the phone stated she could schedule a service call which would result in approximately $35 fee which she stated is customary for a service call. I have not been able to set my alarm for most of the year due to issues with the system. Later that evening the monitoring system started to beep incessantly and of course, by that time your customer service department is closed.

    My sister called me First thing this morning 11/01/2023 to state Vector called over in the night as well. I did see a call on my cell phone approximately 1am that occurred during the night while I was asleep. So, I again called the 800# found on the Website to yet, another aggravating wait time message. Your call will be answered momentarily; which momentarily was approximately 12 minutes of "Hold Music". Finally, an unidentified female answered the call. No, I apologize for the long Hold time or anything. I asked her name, and she gave it to me. I will be happy to share this information if contacted directly. I told her the reason for the call. She then immediately stated let me speak with our customer service, and I will be right back.

    A quick Hold Music message came on, then stopped abruptly. I checked my phone to ensure the call was still connected, although there was no longer "Hold Music" playing. After approximately an additional 20 minutes of waiting the call was disconnected. My system is still beating continuously and no one bothered to call me back although I provided my name and contact address. I am frustrated with the level of service provided in both contacts on yesterday so I will say it must be a training issue. I pay for a service from your company and do not feel that you are respecting me as a customer. I am working from home today and the constant beeping from the alarm system is extremely aggravating. I would like a timely resolution to this issue and hope that you will provide your representatives with coaching and development skills designed to retain your customers, if you care.

    We have been a loyal customer of Vector Security for over 5 years, and I felt the need to write you about my customer experience today. We recently had impact windows installed on the back side of our house, which required us to contact Vector Security to reinstall the sensors. Our Ring doorbell was also not syncing correctly with our Vector app. Understandably, we expected this to be a very straightforward service call.

    Your service technician, Jerry, arrived on time, but I sensed something was off when he took one look at the wires by the windows and said that they were old and will likely have connection issues. I found it interesting that this was not an issue when the Vector alarm system was installed and the system worked perfectly up until now. He followed up about 10 minutes later to inform me that only one of the 9 access points was working, and that he needed to install 8 remote sensors.

    Not sure how, but he stretched this into a 3 hour project to install 8 remote sensors, and I was charged a total of $1,178.07 for this simple project. To add insult to injury, he did not even do anything with the Ring doorbell and asked me if I wanted to open a new ticket for that, and that it will cost me at least another hour. Understandably, I said no and just paid the inflated bill. If this practice is consistent with Vector’s standard operating procedure, please let me know and I will explore other options.     This was a struggle from start to finish. The cust. svc. people were very courteous & tried to be helpful, however there needs to be on-site technicians available at much shorter lead times. AA batteries (corroded) inside, not the CR123A battery I was told was the correct one & paid $9.99 for. Also, the video with instructions on how to install battery WOULD NOT OPEN...     I moved 9 months ago to a new address and was attempting to cancel my service at **. When I called Vector to terrninate my service, I was giving the run around to different departments as if no one knew what to do. They eventually connect me to the people who initially came out to install the lock. The woman informed me that I was under a contract and I cannot discontinue services. I proceeded in asking her what did I need to do in order to break my contract and she abruptly hung up the phone on me. This pass weekend, I receive 3 calls after 11:00 pm from Vector Security stating the alarm went off at ** and I told them I no longer own the house, but they kept calling me. I'm in the process of going to the Better Business Bureau about this matter, if it is not settle with Vector Security. I received the worse service ever and I do not want to continue my service with Vector Security.

    Updated on 12/02/2023: I had to replace a patio door and called to have the alarm removed on the day before installation and re-installed the day after installation. This would cost $200 for each! I said I would just cancel and was told that required 30 days notice. Vector sent me a form which I completed and returned. I removed the alarm myself -- just held on with adhesive - and saved $400! Then Vector failed to terminate my account and billed me for another month after the 30 notification. No one entered the account termination. Please send me $40.

    Original Review: I never received a survey until I cancelled. The sliding glass door to the patio broke and I am having it replaced. I called for service to remove the alarm sensor on the day before it is replaced and to restore it on the day after. Vector said it would be about $400 for two service calls of about 10 minutes each. When I said this was unsatisfactory, they said they could do it for the cost of one. I have cancelled Vector. I can get a newer system from another vendor or install components from Lowe's for less than one Vector service call.

    This review is based on my recent experience with Provision Home, the local Vector Security contractor. Due to rising prices and equipment that doesn’t work correctly, I tried to cancel my security services. I spoke with corporate Vector before looking into all options and was told that I could cancel, but I needed to contact my local representative, Noel **, for the cancellation form. I did contact Mr ** and once I explained that I wanted to cancel he became very defensive and rude. Under the guise of helping me out, he informed me that my contract had just auto renewed (without any warning to be able to make changes, so being a client for 4 years at this point I was unaware of the date) and because of this I’d be sent a bill for the remaining 11 months that would be due!

    I called Vector Corporate and eventually spoke with the same representative, Jasmine, who was nice but told me that Mr ** made all of the decisions regarding contracts including being charged the remainder of the contract, so it was under the power of a rude independent contractor to charge me or not; he’s going to charge anyone probably even his own family! Please know that this is not a knock against Vector corporate, but is a sign that you might want someone else representing your company!

    I chose Vector Security because my parents have been with your alarm company for years. When I opened my door one time I was scheduled to have a technician for service a year and a half ago I saw a familiar face I had just met thru a mutual friend but did not know he worked with company. I have never had a problem with Jerry. I just prefer Dale because I’m extremely sick and have had a stroke and he’s patient with me taking the time discussing the problems with my system as well as showing me how to maneuver around the app. My doorbell camera overheated and got extremely hot. You could obviously see said battery had exploded and was separating itself from the actual camera. I told Baton Rouge Technician and said she was going to have to charge me for coming out and, "I said absolutely not. Your device is not working."

    I got it to work for a day. I had one of your technicians walk me thru setting it back up after resetting and it worked for two days and then it was blinking white. I went to disconnect the camera from mount and it burned my hand it was so hot. So she schedules technician to come to house. Dale ** shows up the following week. Takes one look at camera and says, "You need a new one" and I said "Ok. But, Alicia I don’t have one on my truck and neither does Jerry. They are gonna have to send me one." So angry Garth ** is callin Baton Rouge yet AGAIN and I’m like, "Really? You are going to send a technician to my house, knowing full well that more than likely the doorbell needs replacing and he don’t even have it on the truck? Send me a company gas card that I can use since y’all seem to just be giving it away."

    So the part has to be ordered, shipped and whatnot. I don’t hear from anyone and their famous last words are, "We will call you back or sometimes you get right back." Another 4-5 days pass by and I get that Dale should have just received the part and we will have someone from scheduling call you back. So you catch my drift. I called to cancel my account. I want y’all’s stuff out of my house yesterday!!!! I have ADT coming tomorrow to install my new system but I’ve got 9 months left of this dog and pony show. I’m supposed to stay calm as a cucumber. Because I’m 44 and I’ve had 2 massive heart attacks as well as that damn stroke and I’m super high risk for another one of both. But I got irate.

    Dale ** is the only technician allowed at my home. Period. The end. And… the only reason if I do decide to stay with y’all passed the 9 months will be on account of him and only him. Jerry too but I just prefer to deal with Dale, the technician that knows my system and has done the most work on it. And as for Baton Rouge, y’all need to ship up or ship out. Cause that circus has been in town long enough. It’s time for the act to get back on the road. Now I’m sorry. I gave ample and more than adequate amount of time for this situation to be handled. I see I’ve given more than ample of the recommended minimum amount of words so I’ll be logging off for now.

    I entered into contract with Vector Security 3 years ago, my account was changed to ADT without my knowledge, but because it was the same service and cost didn't change I had no issue, about 6-8 months ago I started having issues with my cameras and my doorbell camera. I called and was referred to ADT. They made attempts to correct over the phone but to no avail, I have since called 6 additional times to get assistance. Today I call and the customer representative tells me my account does not include doorbell or outside camera services. I was never told this before. I did not sign a contract with ADT and refuse to pay them the same amount of money for less service. They are trying to make me pay out the Vector contract.

    I had Vector Security at my previous home- never any complaints. In the process of selling my home I contacted Vector Security concerning what I needed to do to have it canceled at old address and reinstalled at new address. My information was given to Wendy. She contacted me and we spoke briefly about what I needed to do and said she would call back with a price for installation. She never returned my call so I reached out to her for the 1st time, she stated she was the manager and was working installs to help out the sales team and had been really busy and promised she would call me back. Several weeks go by and I do not hear from her so I call the 2nd time. This time her excuse is that she is driving back from Louisiana and will have to get back to me. The back and forth with her not returning my call and me reaching out to her happened 4 more times so I finally gave up.

    At this point I am not happy and figure they don't want my business. The old home closed on 8/4/23 and today 8/25/23 Vector Security calls to ask me my intentions concerning final bill of $1100.00. I explained to them all that had happened and the woman on the other end said she would send my complaint to Wendy's supervisor... Well I do not want Vector Security if I have to have a manager's supervisor get on to them to call me about setting up service. Worst customer service I have ever dealt with.

    I’m very disappointed in how the end of this happened. My parents were customers for 20-plus years. Someone broke the keypad and we paid 1200 to fix it/ upgrade. I think it’s bad business and there are always circumstances where you consider the situation and don’t follow the rules. Three people running every aspect of a parent's life as well as their own.
