I usually never write a review, but I wanted to take a minute to tell you about my experience today. I requested a call before arrival, and Bob called and introduced himself with an approximate arrival time. When he arrived, he took the time to explain what the issues may be and how it will be addressed. On one of the HOTEST DAYS, he had to get on a ladder and reprogram my cameras. He never once complained, kept a very nice disposition, and well spoken at all times. When he finished he explained what was done, and made sure everything was up and running before he completed the task. Bob was the best, he went above and beyond to get everything back up and running and with a smile!

Vector is the system contracted in our condo neighborhood so we didn't choose. Our technician is Jay ** and he is awesome. Very polite and knowledgeable. Our system appeared off and evidently needed battery change. He diagnosed the issue and updated it within 15 mins. Every experience we've had with Vector has been excellent thanks to Jay and his service.

We chose Vector the recommendation of a friend (Mike **), Our technician Kevin ** under promised and over-delivered. Ben ** said he was going to get us the best installer to put our system in and he did. Kevin was on time every day, courteous, organized, and cleaned up every day. Kevin was willing to accommodate our requests and made the experience pleasant. I recommend Kevin highly.

I called Vector two weeks ago for a service call, was told the earliest appointment available was July 11. I called back asking for earlier service to which I was told they would initiate a call to come out sooner. No one ever called back. And when I try to call now, no one answers any of the prompts. (Dial one for service, etc). The fact is, even on our scheduled appointment, no one showed up. We are paying for a service, but there is no security happening. No one has called back. We are very dissatisfied and want to cancel and receive credit for our annual payment we made in April. We will seek another company with a better reputation and service.

Awesome service and excellent installation. Curtis was able to figure out where the best place for the system should be installed even with our crazy salon set. And on top of the great installation. They were actually able to get everything installed a day early!

The installation was fantastic. I really appreciated the detailed review of my order prior to any installation starting. This way, we were able to double check everything and then ensure we were all on the same page. I was alerted by Vector that there was an issue with my system connecting to the cell tower. I got this message late day, I believe it was June 26. The assistant I talked to that evening was in PA and could not fix the condition. She said she wrote a trouble report and Vector would call me. I did not get a call so I called the monitoring center. They couldn't help me - it was after hours on June 28 - so they told me to call Tech Support Service. After being on hold a very long time Mr. ** responded.
He was very helpful and understood my issue. Right away, he said he could fix the problem! He was very professional and I appreciated his positive attitude. He did fix the problem. I mentioned a problem with my driveway camera and he offered for me to call back after 11 (the time I schedule for the driveway camera to record) and we would check it together. I didn't call back but I was very happy and satisfied he had fixed my issue. A huge thank you to Mr. ** so I didn't have to spend more time trying to get assistance.

Nick was Awesome!!! Nick installed my Barbershop last year and done a phenomenal job! And Nick didn’t disappoint with my home! Nick was professional, customer service oriented, and very clean work as usual. Nick explained his work order and how he was gonna install everything. Chris ** with the Geneva Ohio branch did an excellent job installing my system. He also was able to change my door lock code. We gave up because it wasn’t working before he left, but I tried it after he left and the new code locked and unlocked the door.

Every single Vector Rep who has ever called to check on us after we aging ones have set off a false alarm, when we call to ask a question, to let them know that we’re testing our system switches, or to set up a phone chain while we’re away has always been so professional, so helpful and so appreciative of our business - and for the entire 18 years with Vector. That attitude must come down from the top, from people like Beth **, who helped us transfer our Vector Security service to the new owner of our home, and she did this so warmly and extremely efficiently!

Kevin was five stars all the way through this project. He responded to my text or calls immediately as we were waiting for some of the parts to come in so we could finish the job. He is very efficient and informative. As he worked through the job he explained what the next step was and the time frame it would take. Kevin help me with the app and explained the keypad.

On July 8 my installation tech Curtis was great. He answered all my questions and was very professional. I would definitely recommend Curtis and this company to someone. Curtis arrived at my home around 9am and took a inspection of my home before he got started and gave me great recommendations. I am very pleased with my service.

Curtis and Ryan were both very helpful and informative! Curtis went above and beyond to help us learn about our system and how to troubleshoot our faulty doorbell. He was very helpful and gave us several options on how to upgrade our doorbell. Highly recommend!

Nick installed an alarm system for my neighbor couple weeks ago and because of a good job he done, my neighbor referred me to Vector Security. Nick done a very good job with installing all alarm equipment and my cameras. He was polite and professional. Nick answered any and all questions I had and overall was fantastic!

I have concerns that I have not heard from anyone from the call center since I began this service a month ago and my alarm has gone off serveral times. I've tried to contact someone but VECTOR appears not to have a call center. I had to search for a contact number online and send them a message to call me!!! WTH!! The siren is way too low and is no louder than my smoke detector, so my neighbors can't hear it. Also, because it's wireless, the equipment may not perform as well. I've always heard to go with your local security companies/power company for security services. I can certainly tell the difference. The contract is three years long, with a lot of waivers, give up rights, indemnify, hold harmless and agree to use arbitration clauses. Ask a lot of questions. Also, the installer did not have proper equipment to install cameras (no drill bit or ladder). Therefore, my cameras are not where I want them and were installed at arm's length high.

When monitoring called us to tell us that one of our doors was open we asked that the police be contacted. We were never told that we had to register the system so the police would not come to my house. Luckily I was not robbed.

Nick called me that he was on the way when around 30min out. He showed up when expected, went over the scope of the installation, and we talked about where to place the outside camera. Nick offered suggestions and clear explanation of the installation process. He also recommended a wifi extender for optimal performance of our outside camera. Nick was very professional and neat/tidy with the install, and you can tell he takes pride in his work. After the install was complete, he went through all of the features of the system and made sure all of our questions were answered and we were comfortable. I would highly recommend Nick as an installer.

My alarm would not take the code to shut off. Vector contacted me. I told them the problem and was given the number to contact technical problems; they were closed. The siren is blaring all over my home. I called the number 3 times and got VM each time and the line disconnected. Vector called once again, I informed them that I was unable to leave a message. Well I was told there was nothing else she could do. So what was I to do? Listen to a blaring alarm all night. I had to leave my home and stay the night somewhere else so that I could go to work the next morning. Thanks Vector for absolutely nothing. I wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy.

I've had my service with Vector Security for the past 12 to 13 years. I switched from another alarm company and the system has been almost trouble free. I did have one problem with the system and the staff provided excellent service and the technician fixed the problems efficiently.

They couldn't fix alarm last two years. We called for annual inspection last two years. Vector Security came after deadline only (This is for last 2 years.). I am very discouraged by their action. I called several time. No one return the calls.

I need work on my highland co VA address. No one will answer phones. I cannot get any Richmond office and message box is full. I spent an hour and I’m done. I have cancelled my payments. My system is not communicating with yours and I will not pay to upgrade to 5 g mainly because your service is HORRIBLE

Worst customer service ever. I was scheduled for a tech visit between 10-12 today. No calls, no text. Like I am not busy but wasted 2 hrs waiting and still waiting. I will search for a new company to service my alarm needs.

Been trying since last year to get a simple taste done for shop system, and been trying since April to get cameras at home fixed…. Before you sign up, his think…. 3 years contract is a LONG time to pay for something that will stop working and stay not working… but lord don’t let you “forget” to pay them… Horrible.

The Vector Security staff was extremely responsive to my busy schedule and got a tech out here quickly to set up my security system. Once the tech was here he was friendly, quick, and explained everything to me very clearly. I had lots of questions and hypotheticals to run through with him which he patiently explained. He took the time to talk me through the app and the keypads in the house as well helped install the siren which had previously been missing. While I hope to never have them need to call me for a security issue, I know that if/when they do, it will be a positive experience. Very glad to have chosen Vector upon moving to my new home.

Our only reason to have a landline was for the security system. So we decided to terminate that leaving us only the option of "cellular connectivity". This has cost a significant amount in both installation, device, and now ongoing monthly increase of $10. While this all may seem trivial, we were somewhat "misled" into thinking this was beneficial and that abandoning the land line made contact with us more efficient. I am not sure this was the correct change for us, but it appears to be too late.

On Sunday, the carbon monoxide alarm went off and Vector called the local fire department to check it out. A fireman came in and, using a meter, determined that there was no carbon monoxide, telling us that the security company should replace the detector. On Tuesday, the first possible day, I called Vector's local office (Princeton, NJ) and, after waiting an interminable amount of time, was told that the first possible service call was 10 days away and that they had no extra carbon monoxide detectors and would have to order one.
Meanwhile, how are we able to leave the house at any time during the 10 days when the broken detector could set off the alarm again? If I left the house, I would be leaving my wife, who has late-stage Alzheimer's Disease, and her (foreign-born) aide. When I pointed this out, the service person had no answer for me, repeating that it would take 10 days to come to the house. This kind of service costs me over $70 a month. An alarm company has no "extra" carbon monoxide detectors?! No service people that can come sooner than 10 days?! We've been using Vector for the last 25 years, since the house was built.

It chose me. The service has been very good. I have been a customer for over 15 years. I do have to say that the company was not responsive to the recommendations that two servicemen made earlier this year, nor to the several phone calls that I made. It took my paying a visit to the office in Plymouth Meeting to get the appropriate response.

Bob called me when he was on his way and arrived on time. He was very quick in changing the battery on my system and I was so happy to have it stop beeping. We had Frank come out and talk to us about getting a new security system. He was very helpful and got us a great deal. Curtis then showed up for the install. Long post but please read. I normally do not write reviews but I would like to warn as many as I can. DO NOT go with Vector. I have had a terrible experience. We got the alarm system shortly after purchasing our house. I work shift work and we had a newborn at the house so we got it for some peace of mind. Well, we never got that. Within the first two years of having the alarm system, they had to come change batteries in multiple window and door sensors, had to install a completely new motion sensor because the one they installed originally wouldn't quit tripping.
It was to the point our local PD was about to charge us a fee for the false alarms, so we quit using it. I went to cancel and in the very fine print, it was a 60 month contract which was not discussed when the rep was talking to me. So we paid the monthly note for an alarm we don't use. I can now cancel without paying but their customer service department is crap. Seems no one is ever in office for me to cancel and when I did get in touch with someone, they told me I had to sign a piece of paper and mail it back to them. That was 2 weeks ago, haven't received the paper yet. Please, save your money and go with someone else!

Technician Tim showed up on time and made all the necessary repairs. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The system is now up and running. He also spent enough time with us helping us change all of our codes and Explained how newer systems may be a better option. We did not feel any pressure and because of his no pressure explanation decided to upgrade. Grateful he will be our installer.

The doorbell camera in my house has been intermittently work for the past 3 weeks or so. I usually have to disconnect the camera, wait 10 seconds and reconnect. This usually corrects the problem. I find that to be annoying every other day I have to do it. Now it will not correct the problem so I called to set up a service call. I was told I have to pay a $30 service call fee. You have got to be kidding. It's only $30 but it's the principle of it. I could understand if it's something I messed up but it's the equipment you installed. Once my contract expires I will not be renewing it.

First I was told that I needed to call before replacing the battery because the alarm would go off. Called in for battery replacement and never got a call back for service. Someone was suppose to call me and it has been weeks or maybe longer. Do not remember seeing any notice that the bill would increase. I had been please until now.

The installation by John was extremely professional, very quick and easy to understand. I really complement John’s efforts to make the consumer understand the thoroughness of the system. The sales pitch by Dan, however, was far too heavy-handed and pressured. I really didn’t enjoy his pitch or company. It was far too obtrusive.

The Vector Alarm system is NOT functioning well. When I click on "doorbell" to see who is at my door, I get a note stating "There was a problem connection to the doorbell" AND I HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO FIX IT!!!! Please send someone to fix the doorbell.

Vector offered a free wireless camera for a 3 year contract. Wireless camera lasted 6 months but still still paying on contract. Wish there was more follow up other than billing and automatic payments. Do not recommend this security company.

Not so happy with Vector anymore. First, the free Skybell doorbell they gave me had never worked properly. I've had multiple service calls for it. And now, the tech tells me they don't even use that one anymore and therefore, he can't replace it with the newer version they use because the doorbell transformer isn't powerful enough and I need an electrician to replace that first. Then, I started getting mystery bills this week. No invoices for them in my online account under 'invoices & communications'. And no actual invoices attached to the emails. Was told it was a 'fuel surcharge'. There was no communications from Vector stating that they were going to start doing this.
Also, the customer service is awful. Whenever I call, whether it's the service department or the billing department, I'm routinely on hold for no less than 30 minutes. When the tech was here a couple weeks back for the doorbell, he had to manually update my panel as well, because for some reason, it wasn't automatically updating as it should. When he got it back online, he had to jiggle a couple windows that weren't coming up on the system. He finally fixed that issue. Then one of the Wi-fi modules in one of the windows he messed with suddenly starts giving out a 'low battery' warning, after he left. And the panel kept beeping every 30 minutes. I called my Princeton, NJ Vector office. Sat on hold for 40 minutes, and got no one. Left a message. No response back. I had to put up with that beeping all weekend long, till he could come back the following week. And now they're charging me a fuel surcharge for the second visit as well, which shouldn't have been necessary.
And finally, when the tech was there, he noticed the panel was NOT doing its monthly test. I asked him how I would ever know if it's doing that or not and he said Vector should have called me to notify me there was a problem. I never at any time got any calls from Vector telling me the panel wasn't doing its monthly test.

The initial telephone call was managed well and their representative was professional and obviously very experienced when he came to our home to discuss what we wanted/needed in our system. He did not attempt to up-sell us. The time to installation was reasonable and the technician who did our installation was excellent. He was professional, respectful, neat and very efficient with his work. He did not rush through the job and took the time to customize the settings to best meet our needs. Vector has continually provided the worst customer service when servicing and maintaining both our fire and security systems. Continued to state “we’ll call back” and never do. Not until asking for managers is our service issue addressed, but by that point in the day it’s too late. For example, our most recent problem occurred at 10:30am, was not until a 4:30pm call that they agreed to service the property the next day. Meanwhile, the local fire Marshall put a fire watch on the property, forcing us to monitor the property due to a lack of service from Vector. Horrible company. Would never recommend to a colleague.

Our tech Aaron came out very promptly. We needed service that day and they made it happen. He was so nice. The tech went above and beyond to get our system back to normal. We had one device that was low and since it's been a while he replace all of our batteries to cut down on a return trip. Great job Aaron.

I choose Vector because of Kris **, I knew him thru a previous provider. Previous provider was unresponsive to our technical issues, sold our contract to new provider and they too were unresponsive. Contacted Kris who responded immediately. John, the technician was excellent, very courteous and respectful, knowledgeable and suggested a second smoke detector and protection for our garage. He was not pushy. He informed me of the weakness in our home defense. Both Kris and John are credit to your business. Take good care of them. I chose Vector Security after moving into a new home that was previously secured by them. The process so far has been very seamless, from the sales person I initially dealt with, the scheduler I worked with to set up the installation, and then especially with the installer themselves. The installer was on time, proficient, and had the system up and running in the timeframe the scheduler initially told me. A very good experience so far with Vector Security in Baton Rouge.

I’ve been overcharged and gotten faulty and broken equipment. I’ve been left without a doorbell. My wishes and requests were not respected. The technician Bob came out to my home today to service my security system. He call to let me know he was running a few mins late but was here close to the time he was supposed to arrive. NO ONE WILL ANSWER WHY I AM BEING CHARGED $27.23. You HAD to upgrade my system and were suppose to add ONE dollar to my bill, which apparently you are now adding $2 to my bill. And also charging me 27.23 for the cell upgrade. I don't need to pay $27.23 plus $2 per month for something YOU made me do.

Kevin was excellent for the installation process! Very professional and efficient. He asked us where to place the equipment in order to best suit our needs which was very thoughtful! He ended with a great demonstration of how to use the equipment and answered all of our questions. We cannot wait to use our new security system!

Previous positive experience with Vector. This was an installation in a new home. Tech was knowledgeable and efficient. He took the time do a neat install and fully explain the system. I would recommend Vector to anyone interested in a security system.

We have been Vector for almost 15 years and they have been good for us overall. They seem to run a smooth office compared to other places I’ve called into for help. The staff is polite and helpful, I did have to leave a message and wait for a call back but didn’t take long at all. Nick our technician has always been very informative. Even today he checked to make sure I was able to use the app and knew how the doorbell cam worked. Trying to help me make the most out of my system. Great work Vector.

Upgrade to existing system. Kevin arrived on time the first day and gave an accurate (conservative) picture of expected timing. In the end he beat the timing by a day or so. He was exceedingly professional throughout, was very knowledgeable, and very good in communicating how the system works and how to manage. Good guy, very pleasant

He was very nice and education very nice and comfortable with him in my home, he was very informative about each step in the process with each step along the way. Very friendly and welcoming, I loved the fact that he included me during this process and made sure I was comfortable working the system before he left.

I want my contract to be declared null and void. My system has been down more than up. I’ve had 4 work orders and the woman I spoke to says I still have to pay for a contract that Vector is not living up to.

Nick ** was my technician. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. Resolved the issue quickly and helped me set up some important items on the app. He did an excellent job. I would definitely recommend Vector and Nick. The equipment is excellent upgrade from what I had before. Very pleased with everything so far.

I thought Vector Security had a great security system for my home. I would love to tell you why I left this service but I wouldn't discuss it on a public forum. When anything happened at my home security system they were so quick to contact me or my child and one time my sister! They were very prompt in contacting someone to see what was going on at my property.
