The matter has been addressed by officials at Vector Security and I have received a refund in the amount of my final bill. I am satisfied with the company's resolution of my problem. However, I still feel that the company’s automatic renewal policy should be amended to ensure that the customer is fully aware of the consequences of failure to inform them of his/her desire to (continue) (discontinue) the service after an initial contract has expired.

Vector Security installed their system at my old home on 16 Jun 2012 and I signed a 3 year contract. On 10 Jun 2013, I sold that home and moved to another location. At that time, I informed the company that I desired to cancel their service. Their sales representative informed me that I would need to pay out the contract before cancellation could be effected. Rather than paying the cost of the remaining two years of service and receiving nothing for my money, I decided to renew the contract for service at my new home - expiration date: 13 Jun 2016.
I failed to read the fine print on my new contract and after the three year contract expired, the company automatically renewed my contract for another year. The fine print states you must provide 30 days notice before the end of the contract if you desire to discontinue the service. Once you have been automatically renewed for a fourth year, they will not financially prorate the fourth year. That is, you will be required to pay another full year. The automatic renewal was not explained to me before I signed the contract.
I would have appreciated a heads-up at some point prior to the date my three year contract expired. Instead, I did not remember in time and failed to inform the company until 10 Jun 2016 that I desired to discontinue the service. Consequently, I am now asked to pay out the contract for an additional year of service that I do not need or even want. In my opinion, this practice is dishonest and preys upon their customers, especially elderly folks like myself. I will never do business with this company again.

I called in reference a Low Battery / End of Low Battery signal I kept getting. The young lady who took my call (and I do not remember her name) was excellent. She was friendly, not just pleasant, but actually friendly. She engaged me. She went above and beyond in providing me with instructions as to how I can remedy the issue or have a technician come out. She was wonderful. It was like talking to a friend. She definitely adds to your organization and I hope she is recognized for her customer service skills and abilities.

Rita is a keeper! She resolved a problem concerning repair of my alarm system. She had to engage several Vector people to get the resolution, and she took the time to do it. Now I'm waiting for the technician to actually come and make the repair.

Sean ** was the technician that came out to service our case. He quickly had the (AT&T) radio signal strength tested and determined it had been extremely low for about 3 months. He made arrangements to replace the panel with a Verizon equipped panel, which has a stronger signal in our area. New panel to be installed 8/2/2016. Sean was prompt, courteous and very professional. He took the time to listen carefully to our concerns, and patiently informed us about what he had found and recommended to rectify the problem. Very pleased with his work and demeanor.

Ron ** was asked by us to come and evaluate our outdated security system and provide us with a quote. Ron is a very knowledgeable sales rep, very professional. He provided us with discounts for the required equipment that we needed. The Commander and I were really impressed with him. Darren ** the technician who did the upgrade was also very knowledgeable, very professional, good at what he does. Both individuals were truly nice guys. They provided us with a secure building that we are very pleased with. What a pleasure to work with. Thank you very much for sending these individuals to us.

I was approached by the young man that installed our system. He has started his own business and asked us to allow him to monitor our system. I would rather stay with Vector so I called and was given a rate reduction. I spoke with Debbie and Brittany. They were very helpful.

The installer who installed my system was Darren and he was fantastic. He appeared to be having fun and was always in a good mood. He showed us all how to use the new system and made sure I had no questions. He also left his card and told me to call if I had any issues or if I need anything. I am impressed.

I had to contact Customer Service because of an intermittent power outage. I needed to know how to turn off the beeping. Your agent was very helpful. Everytime I call Customer Service (once or twice a year) they are always courteous and helpful.

I first spoke with Kathleen who gave me a very clear and complete explanation of the various charges I am paying monthly. She told me I had not set up an online account. When I tried to do that I had problems and called back and spoke to Malik. He walked me through the process and was very patient. Both of these reps were outstanding - professional, knowledgeable and courteous.

I signed a 3 year contract on 3/7/2012. In March 2016 I called Vector because I was getting a reporter failure on the system when the power goes out. Vector did not return my call for 2 weeks. I called them back and they had a technician call me back. The technician walked me through the process to clear the error. They proceeded to tell me that the system is out of date, and needed to be updated. But in order to update the system I would need to sign a new contract. I assumed that meant I was no longer under contract. In June the power went out again and of course the error returned. I did not want to sign a new contract. I cancelled the service and received a cancellation bill of $220 for a contract that I was under the impression I no longer had since they would not upgrade a system (that needed upgrading) without a NEW contract. So I guess the question of having a contract is a matter of convenience for Vector Security.

The replies to my emails when I need to add or delete authorized users or make other changes have been prompt and courteous. I don't know about the Value or Installation since it is at my church and I don't pay the bill. The installation was years ago.

The sensor in the dining room has to be fixed. A technician has to come to the house to fix it. I called on Thursday to have the sensor repaired and was told someone would schedule an appointment and fix the sensor. No one has called to schedule an appointment.

After the upgrade the alarm tripped all hours of the day. It took a week to find the installer did not assign the BA to a account so the clock did not control the BA time. It took too many trips to find the problem.

My house guest did not disarm the alarm on time and got very flustered. You all contacted my husband – on a cross-country bicycle ride – and he suggested calling me. I was at work and did not get the call on time to be helpful. You all did the right thing by calling the Vienna police. They correctly addressed the issue and all was fine. I should have given you all my house guest's phone number. This request will help close this loophole. Thanks.

Home was struck by lighting, system malfunction. Sean ** was very professional and took his time to ensure my system was operating correctly and that I was comfortable with the operating system before he left. He also scheduled a follow up visit to ensure system is operating correctly and change the battery on a malfunctioning thermostat. OUTSTANDING TECH - ONE OF THE BEST IN THE INDUSTRY.

I met with another rep with a different security company before meeting with Mary from Vector. Mary's wonderful personality sold me. She listen to what I needed and made suggestions based on our conversation. She wrote everything down and was very patient. Mary provided helpful advice regarding the plan I was purchasing. She let me know all the important information regarding the products including its features. After our meeting she has followed up with me several times to make sure the system was working well and if I had any questions. Great service makes customers feel that you care about developing a long-term relationship that means more than just making a sale. Mary is a great asset to Vector Security.

I have had Vector Security's equipment and monitoring services for 16 years. Vector updated my system and fire alarms two years ago. I did have an issue with the tech and cost at the time. Once I spoke to Cleo ** in customer service she heard my issues and handled my concerns much better than I expected. For that reason I decided to stay with Vector and recommend people to Vector. Two years later I needed additional services. My basement had flooded and caused significant water damage. If you have two of the same Home owner's insurance claims within three years the insurance company can drop you.
My insurance cost would increase four times with another company after having claims within three years. I had Vector installed a water sensor that connected to my house alarm system. If there is water in my basement the alarm will send alerts to my phone and email as well as an auditable sound in my home. I had researched many different methods to address this issue to make sure that I don't have another water damage claim. Vector Security had the best cost effective solution. I am very happy with their service and even more impressed with their customer services.

My fee is covered by my HOA. Attempting to get our system activated I found an 800 #, called it, was asked for my zip code then I was promptly disconnected. Found a local #. The person who answered did not speak clearly, could not care less about my call. Someone is supposed to call back to schedule. If I were 'cold' calling I would have hung up and called someone else...but as you have been selected by my HOA I guess I will see how it goes. Not a very comfortable feeling nor level of service for a home security company.

The A/R (Accounts Receivable) department is always friendly when I call to make my payment. This morning there was no answer but I did not leave a message. They ended up calling me back anyway and had all of my information ready so it took no time at all to make my payment. The person taking my payment was quick and efficient.

Power went out for hours Saturday night. System started beeping and the power led starting blinking. After power was restored this blinking light continued. System was put into test mode and after disconnecting the battery and AC power the system reset and test performed. The system is functioning properly now and after talking with maintenance we will be watching the battery. All people were helpful and professional.

My experience with both signing up for Vector Security services and the installation of the products was outstanding. Mary took her time to walk me through all of the packages available and answered all of my crazy questions. I did not feel pressured to purchase anything I did not believe would benefit me; however, Mary did walk through the benefits of items that I passed on. When George installed the equipment he took his time and went over and beyond to install the keypad where it was most convenient for me. He had to crawl underneath the house three times to get the wires in the correct place. Once installed, I have peace of mind and absolutely love the services Vector provides. I receive notifications anytime someone comes in or out of my home. I can also turn lights on and off when I am not at home. I am so thankful I stopped to talk with Mary at the Ashland Strawberry Faire.

Working with Ron ** to identify types, locations, and functions of camera systems to ensure proper and complete coverage was a breeze. Wow! What can I say about Mike the Vector tech who arrived at my home on Wednesday, July 6th. Mike was early, pleasant and most helpful. Mike explained what he was going to do for the conversion from our old security system to Vector. Mike took a look around, reviewed and tested each security point. Mike also gave a great recommendation that we should consider adding security to our patio wind plus suggested we consider getting the fire alarm system installed. He made some very good points about what we have the advantages to installing 2 new fire alarms.
Mike was not pushy at all and my spouse and I reviewed his recommendations and will procure them with Vector. You have an outstanding employee who went beyond the call of duty. You ask why? I needed a new battery, Mike did not have one on his truck, went back to the office and replaced the old battery on the same day he put in the service. Excellent customer service beyond by expectations.
Thank you Mike and thank you Vector for having great employees like Mike. The Mt Laurel office was very helpful in getting back to me and I also wanted to thank Liz for looking into my inquiry. Sean ** was extremely professional, courteous, and friendly! He was early, which I greatly appreciated because I have errands to handle on a Saturday and the service call didn't take long at all. He even went the extra mile by replacing the batteries in our door panel and arranging to have new "save our pets" sticker for our front door sent to us! As someone who works in customer service, my expectations were more than exceeded! I will highly recommend Vector and especially Sean as a technician, to my friends, family and neighbors. Joe, the technician, came out to change out the battery on my system. He was on time and very helpful. I would, however, suggest one change to the overall service... The last three times I have required service, the various departments of Vector have not alerted one another. As a result, I have been "alerted" to the need for service when "service" has already been scheduled for at least a couple of days. Frankly, it is irritating to receive the phone calls telling me I have a problem that is merely waiting to be addressed. Thank you for your consideration and response to this concern.

I have been with Vector for about 5 years and I've always had a pleasant experience with your dispatchers and your technicians. It was a pleasure working with Sean **. He showed up before the time I was told and I really appreciated that. He explained to me about upgrading my system and eased my worries about a heat detector that was hanging in my garage that's not connected to your system. He talked to me about purchasing a heat but I'm not ready as of yet. I really appreciate your prompt response to this. I feel safe and secure! Looking to continue my service.

When my system was updated in Virginia I was not fully aware that it would commit me to another term contract. I thought the update was for your convenience. As A result I was told I had to pay a early termination fee when I moved out of state. In order to avoid the fee I agree for a system in my new home. But, that appointment was a no show. For that reason I do not want another Vector system. Please do not ask me to reconsider. I was not dealt with honestly.

Called in May for replacement battery. Never got a return call. Cancelled service in June. Just got a bill for $375 for "remaining contract period". Contract was for 36 months in 2009 and expired in 2012. Was told service would be month to month after 2012. Never signed another contract. Installer messed up house phone lines so that they never worked after alarm installed. Messed up cable service and had to be re-wired by cable company. Call center people rude. Do not do business with this company unless you like getting screwed and abused.

After 7 service visits during the past 9 months to complete the "upgrade" of our system, we are very hopeful that it will now work properly. After the initial installation it was reported that we had a defective sensor, needed a repeater and had low signal strength for cell connection. Subsequently the sensor was replaced and the repeater was added. After several network failures the technician recommended that due to weak signal strength, we add a different antenna. After 2 1/2 months, the antenna was available and the installation scheduled. However, due to issues with the job before ours, the visit had to be rescheduled. Upon arriving to install the antenna, it was determined that the panel had to be moved to allow access. Signal strength was improved to 2 bars.
Shortly after the technician left, we experienced failures with the Z-Wave. This required the technician to return and add a "switch". He tested all devices and they appeared to work properly. Within days, we again experienced network and Z-Wave failures. After another series of phone calls, Sean and Joe came to the house, replaced the antenna - increasing signal strength to 3 bars and adding two light bulbs to improve Z-Wave performance. As with Ken, Dale - we think the technicians did a great job and were all sympathetic to our frustration.
My opinion of the problem is that no one was (aware?) of the impact of a 3 story concrete home on the Z-Wave or cellular connection. Also I believe that before installation, Vector should review Verizon's specific coverage map. In my conversations with them as we try to improve our own cell signal, they acknowledge that our area does not have very good coverage.

I had a wireless system installed at my home a couple of months ago. For some reason, my kitchen door sensor started acting up, and it was on my “list” of calls to make. As I was driving home from receiving another text prompt that my door was offline, one of your reps, Liz, called me & stated that she noticed several of these errors and recommended that a technician look at it. This was the last day of my vacation at 4pm, and I told her I couldn’t take any more time off anytime soon. She sent someone over IMMEDIATELY!! The technician was at my home within 15 minutes and resolved the problem. WOW!! I am very impressed with Vector’s service! Everyone from my salesperson, to the technicians, to your customer service reps have been extremely friendly and helpful. You have a great team working with you!!!

My experience with Vector Security's staff was very pleasant today. I initially called a national toll free number but with ease was transferred to the Columbia, SC Branch. Transfers were smooth and without any conflict or wait time. Staff was courteous, friendly and professional. I recommend Vector Security to family and friends.

The new install was completed in just over a day. All areas were cleaned up during and again post install. I was disappointed the old wiring was not removed and just left above the ceiling tiles. We had an issue with our other sites connecting to the new external cameras. David ** was onsite the next day. He had to call the vendor to get the system to work. It ended up being a password issue that had been loaded by the vendor on the cameras for a different company. Another issue was the refresh rate on the outside cameras. It was too high to go through the network and be seen from our other locations. David fixed this also and now everything is working as designed.

I had a pleasant experience with Mary. The sales visit lasted almost two hours. We probably could've covered everything within an hour. It was nice to know all of the other features/services that are offered, but I knew that I just wanted the basic security system. Also, since my sales visit was after business hours on a Wednesday, I was told that I would receive confirmation the next day of my installation date. Thursday came and went without me receiving confirmation. I had to reach out on Friday morning to confirm my installation date.

Moved in December and am not allowed to have a system in my new place. I have talked to Vector many times and can't get cancelled no matter who I talked to. They are making money without providing any services at this point. They actually monitored a house I did not own for TWO months! Today, I talked to customer service and have requested to talk to both Ellen ** with customer service and Eric **, the branch manager. I was told he was not available and that she would call me back. We still were alerted to the smoke and heat issue. The key pad kept telling us there was a heat and smoke problem in one of the garages. We checked and there was nothing. When I tried putting my code back in keypad it went back to normal but only for a few minutes. The keypad was beeping every so often and finally stopped but we were still alerted to the smoke and heat issue.

I was a new Vector customer approximately 3 years ago and experienced very good customer service but in the last 6 months I have not been satisfied with Vector's monitoring, which has been unreliable, inconsistent and unacceptable. When customers pay for monitoring services they should be able to expect consistent and dependable monitoring. I called customer service to explain that my alarm had been triggered numerous times and we were never called at home or on our alternate numbers. I called and asked what Vector could do for me as I had no battery backup. The answer I received was "don't worry about it." The waiting times when calling the main customer service center often exceed 20 minutes.
Vector does have one shining star and her name is Sherry **. She is a consummate professional, very skilled in customer service and very knowledgeable. She is the only person I have dealt with at Vector that deserves high marks for her follow up, follow through and she does what she promises to do. Vector would be a much better company if leadership was more like Ms. **. It's shameful the lack of professionalism and competency with the rest of Vector's people.

I needed tech support to set up an account on my wife's phone so that she could operate the security features on her phone. I called Vector about 10:20 pm EST, talked with a representative and said that she would refer me to a local technician and he would call within 10 to 15 minutes. I never received a call and I now have little faith in Vector as far as getting the help that is needed for support. This is not professional business and I am thinking seriously about discontinuing my business if I can't get the professionalism of support I request within a reasonable time frame.

We had a quick turn around time to replace an old fire/burglar system with another. The rep. was very polite, and professional and extremely responsive to questions we had. He focused on our needs and didn't try to upsell us on the latest/greatest thing. It was crucial that the new system had the same if not greater capability than our old one and he took the time to go through EVERY detail of the new system before install. Unfortunately, we both had our dates wrong for the install. We ended an old contract BEFORE the new install which would have presented code issues.
The rep. did everything he could to bump up the install and found a way to make it happen a week early! The installer was awesome! He was very professional and polite and answered all questions. I had to call him after hours about an issue and he was able to help. The installer was by himself (because of the rush job) and installed both fire and burglar system. He explained all functions and we were good to go! We were blessed to be able to buy all equipment outright which means all we pay monthly is monitoring. Overall, love the company, its people and the prices are much better than their competitor with the blue signs....

Shelly ** from scheduling dept. was most helpful to me when I inquired about who should remove the sensors when the windows are replaced. She checked to confirm the sensors were wireless and also the charge for Vector to remove & replace sensors. Although I do not agree there should be a trip charge & additional charges after 1st half hour, I realize it isn't Shelly's fault. She was pleasant & most helpful. You are fortunate to have her as an employee. But Vector's rules are not considerate to the loyal customers of many years who have been consistent in paying their bills & waiting many hours for servicemen to arrive.

I am so satisfied with the personnel of Vector. I have just talked to the Operator Jim, he was so nice he helped me fix my problem with setting my alarm and taught me the proper way to set my alarm. When I left the house that I did not know about, his supervisor Jay is sending out someone to reset my sensitivity of the sensors. This is a great company and will give them the highest rating. I cannot speak highly enough for both of those gentlemen, I now feel safer than ever knowing great people are monitoring my home.

Received letter indicating one extra automatic draft of $12.00 to bring my account up to date. There was no explanation in the letter for the extra automatic draft. I called and was told that the extra automatic draft was due to a registration fee charged by the City of Savannah for alarm systems. I was never made aware of the fee when the system was purchased and later installed.

I had Vector Security for a few years and had no problem with the system or services. However, when my wife and I decided to do away with our house telephone we contacted Vector for advice. I contacted the company four times to determine what I needed to do. On one call I was told that we would have the system switched to our internet connection. After repeated attempts to get this done by myself and my wife we gave up. My last call was to inform Vector that we no longer wanted the service. I was informed that since we didn't have a house phone the system wasn't working. Fast forward a few months and I found out today that Vector has been taking the fees out of our account for several months even though they have not been providing a service. Now they are telling us that yes the service is on, there is no way it could be. Bottom they have questionable billing practices that in Tennessee constitutes theft. Be warned of this company.

I contacted Vector security because my daughter was having issues at her apartment complex with maintenance entering her apartment without authorization. It was getting to the point that she was not sleeping and scared to be at her apartment alone. I called Vector security and explained the situation. Not only were they compassionate about the situation, they moved their schedule around to install the security system right away. Vector is even going to move the system to her next apartment in the fall for no charge. She is now able to sleep at night, knowing she is protected! Most importantly, we didn't feel like another transaction or a number. They made us feel like family!
