    The tech, Mr. ** came to my house to replace a broken panel. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He informed me that I lacked one smoke detector and at least two carbon monoxide detectors. I purchased them and he installed them. He could have just simply replaced the broken panel and left like others did. However, he took time to educate me and tell me the cons and pros of having it versus not having it.

    I had Vector in my previous house in Canyon Trails. I moved out of the house in December. I called and cancelled my account Dec. 28th and was assured my service would be stopped. I then noticed in July that I was still being bill for services on the house I sold. I contacted customer service and was told that I would have to fill out a form to cancel...nowhere on my previous call was I told I would need to fill out a form. I was then told I would not be getting my money back for the now 7 months! I said that I could prove I didn't own or live in the house and why would I pay for service on a house I did not own....I was told by customer service that a lot of customers pay for houses they don't own because they are auto billed and never cancelled. So basically Vector's business model is to make tons of money off people who are given the wrong instructions on how to cancel and make extra months off the auto bill feature.

    I informed them that they need to cancel my account immediately and that I would no longer be using them for any services. Now if they would have did the right thing and refunded my little $70, they would have had the alarm service in my new home as well as the service in my new office I just moved into. However that is the last money they will make from me and I will bad mouth them to every person possible....not a great business decision on their part. Good luck continuing to rip people off but it won't be me or anyone I know ever again.

    While their system and protection while high priced vs most others is perfectly adequate their customer service and cancellation policies are horrible. Sherry ** the supervisor was very cold and all business and cared nothing about the situation. I had a 3 year contract with them. Due to the high price I found a very good replacement (SimpliSafe). My contract had not yet expired 08/03/20. I called them first on the 17th to close my account. I was informed without any care that the contract stated you had to give them a longer notice and that I would be required to pay for another full year. I asked if they expected a customer to recall every clause from a contract 3 years old. Her answer was a simple yes.

    Sherry then informed me that they do not send out a courtesy email or any type of notice to let customers know that the extra year would be added if no notice was received. With today's technology and just good customer service this could be done. Bottom line was Vector Security cared only about getting money for a system no longer being used (in a box). They care nothing about the hard times we are all dealing with and just want your money. I will never do business with such an impersonal company again and will do my best to make others aware of their cold business practice.

    On July 13 after a 5 day wait, a service technician cleared a BF code on my security panel. I was unable to use my security system during those 5 days because it would beep loudly every few hours. On July 19, the same BF code displayed again. I called for service on July 20 and was told the first available appointment was in 2 weeks on Aug 3. So now I can't use my security system for 2 more weeks. Unacceptable. I asked to speak with a manager, I was put on hold, and then I was cut off. Unacceptable.

    As I was about to submit this review, customer service called back and said they could schedule my service on July 23 so I can't use my security system for 4 days on top of the 5 days from the previous system error. I would like someone to call me to discuss reimbursement for the 9 days I was unable to use my security system this month because of your long delays for service appointments. My number is **.

    I set up this service and never had any issues with the operating of the system. Two years later (end of June) I called to cancel since 1. we haven't been in our office since March due to COVID and 2. our office lease ended and we haven't identified another building since we're still working from home. When I called to cancel I was advised that I had signed a 3 year contract. I had no recollection of this so I asked for a copy of the contract to be sent to me. When I received it I noticed that it was not my signature. I was forwarded to the cancellation department who tried to shift the blame to Pinnacle, the 3rd party reseller of their services. I was told that I had to pay a cancellation fee or transfer the service to our home.

    First, I would have been open to that had my signature not been forged. Two not really because we were former Vector Security customers at home and had persistent issues with them not monitoring the property, systems always needing a battery and them trying to charge us each time despite having already paid, and most frustrating of all them taking our bill payment via automatic draft but still calling us about past due bills only to self-correct and start the same process the following month. At one point they threatened to send us to collections after they sent two different technicians out to our home to change the battery who never showed up. They continued to charge us for services we were literally unable to use and when they finally sent someone out the 3rd time he didn't even have a battery or know how to fix it. THEY SENT US TO COLLECTIONS and we're still waiting for resolution about this.

    Needless to say I never received a call back and so when I reached out today I got the same rep-Connie. The first time I spoke to her (June 29) she was very dismissive and borderline confrontational when I told her the signature on the contract wasn't mine. This time she defended her response and kept flippantly saying that she sent an email and that it's still under review. I expressed that I'm still being charged for services and continuing to get entry notifications for our old office. I don't feel I should be charged a penalty to cancel so that I can avoid being charged a monthly fee for service I'm not using. Literally someone else is renting the space now.

    She then tried to defer me to seeking a magistrate about my concerns of fraud regarding the signature and I promptly redirected her that she is not in a position to offer me legal advice. I asked to speak with a supervisor with whom I left a voicemail and plan to email. Hopefully they will do the right thing and not force me to contact my attorney. This is step 1. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!

    During a storm last Friday afternoon a lightning flash must have knocked out our fire alarm system for our condos. When I came home the Geneva on the Lake fire dept had just left due to the fire alarm sent to them. I called Vector and Linda put through to Matt in technical service. Matt assisted us with our problem and had the parts available to make the repairs. We agreed to wait until the storm went away and then we would make the repairs.

    Matt met me on Saturday morning as we discussed on Friday evening. Matt worked out and repaired the problems with the system. Once he was done with repairs to the system a few board members along with myself were discussing clearing a large branch that had fallen across a driveway at our condos. All we could come up with was an old dull bow saw that would have taken us all day to cut up the fallen branches.

    Matt came to the condos rescue when he brought out a battery operated Sawzall and started cutting through the branches like butter. Matt took an extra ten minutes or so of his Saturday to help us clear our driveway of all downed branches. We on the NorthCoast Landing Condo Association board wish to Thank Matthew Gersper for going Above and Beyond the Call of Duty and helping to clear the fallen branches and open up our driveway. Awesome job Matt!!

    We were referred to Vector by a trusted friend, he has used them for 25 years in 4 different homes. We were changing from an existing system to Vector due to many disappointments with the customer service of our existing provider.     An inspection was requested to determine that the fire detection system was in good working order. The appointment was arranged and the tech was supposed to call me when he arrived to get instructions so that he could gain access. I did receive a call and he got in and said that based on the size of the office he would be finished with the testing in about 45 minutes. I told him to call me if he had any difficulty. The following day I received a bill for 2 and 1/2 hours which was more than 3 times the expected cost. I called the office to get an explanation of the charges and was told that he could not get into the building and had to wait for a while.

    Based on what I was told by tenants on site, he gained access immediately to the lower level before calling me to get into the upper level and had no difficulty with access. During the time I was being billed, the tech was observed sitting in his truck in the parking lot after the services were provided and while I was being billed. It was impossible that the time billed was factual based on the timeline provided by those who were on site during the call. I asked for an explanation as to why the billing was so incorrect and how this was going to be handled. I received no explanation and merely a reduction of the bill to an amount that reflected what the service time billed should have been. Excessive billing, no explanation and no penalty incurred by Vector. I subsequently canceled all future services that were to be provided and switched to a different provider of services.

Just last night and very early this morning (2:30 am) we had two false alarms our 2nd floor smoke alarm and one of our keypads is not working. I called first thing this morning for a service appointment and the first available is 2 weeks from now. Unfortunately, I will be out of town that week, so cannot get service until July 6. I think a 2 week wait for service is ridiculous, particularly for an alarm company. In addition, I am surprised and unhappy that a brand new system has failed. This does not bode well for our future with Vector.

    I would very much discourage anyone from using Vector Security for their home protection. The equipment is faulty, the service less than poor and they are not capable to handle emergencies. We have had the service for over three years. We have continually had problems, some that were major. Both my wife and I are senior citizens and in poor health. I have stage 4 cancer.

    Last night we had heavy rain. This morning there was a small amount of water, about an inch, that seeped into the drainage ditch, that is about a foot deep, around three sides of the basement. Vector put a sensor in the drainage ditch next to the sump pump to detect any water that was accumulating. At a little after 7:00 am today the alarm sounded. I put in the code to stop the alarm and went into the basement to inspect how much water was there. There was no water except a small amount, an inch or less, right around the sump pump which is the lowest spot in the ditch.

    I had something to eat and went back to bed. Around noon the alarm went off again. This time I could not stop the alarm. I repeatedly put in the code. I tried to disarm it and nothing work. Sometimes it would stop for 15-20 seconds and then start again. I called Vector and was put on hold for at least 10 minutes, probably longer, until someone, Sue, finally was connected. She could hear the alarm. She made no effort to expedite finding a solution. I told her what had happened and what I had been doing. I asked her to help me immediately. Her response was to tell me she would “walk” me through putting in my code to stop the alarm. I had just told her I had been to that for the last 10-15 minutes with out results. I asked her to disconnect it from her side. She said it could not be done. I knew that was not true.

    Her only suggestion was that I open the panel and disconnect the battery. She said there was either a screw on the top of the panel box I would have to unscrew or that there were tabs along the side I could use to open the box, neither of these were true. Finally, the alarm stopped by itself while I was still on the phone and the usual date and time was displayed. She said she would send a technician but the earliest appointment would be in two weeks! Then about 3:00 pm while I was sleeping the alarm went off again. Again, I could not stop it. I called Vector again and was put on hold for at least 10 minutes during which time I keep trying to use the personal code to stop the alarm. This time, after my final call, I was able to see that I had put in my code to stop the alarm 31 times before it finally stopped!

    By chance the second time I was again connected to Sue. She recognized me and reminded me that she had set up an appointment with a technician for two weeks from today. She could hear the alarm was sounding and I told her I again could not stop it. This did not seem to concern Sue at all. She wanted me again identify myself and said she would “walk” me through putting in the code to stop the alarm. She said there’re was nothing else that could be done. I told her I did not want to talk to her any more and for her to put on someone who knew something about the alarm system. She seemed reluctant to do so but finally agreed to find some one else and put me back on hold.

    Ten to 15 minutes later Michelle was connected. She at least knew what to do to disconnect the sector, from her end, that was causing the alarm even though that took some time with the alarm still sounding continuously. Michelle said they would still send a technician in two weeks. It is inconceivable to me that the best they can do in an emergency for two old people with serious health problems was to get someone to the house in, at best, two weeks! With the history of their malfunctioning equipment, even though the water detection alarm sector was now disconnected, how secure do you think we are that the rest of the system will protect us for the next two weeks or in fact that whatever they do in two weeks that the substandard Chinese equipment they use will be any more reliable that it is now.

    We live in a small neighborhood. The outside alarm is very loud. Besides disturbing the neighbors, they are all now used to false alarms coming from our house so in the event of an actual problem no one now will pay any attention or bother to come to try to help. In the past we had the fire alarm malfunction a number of times. Sometimes I could get to the panel in time to stop it Twice I could not and the fire company came to the house. In our small town we have a volunteer fire company. Besides having the volunteer firemen leave their respective jobs to rush to the firehouse to bring the trucks and equipment to the house only to be told it was a false alarm, we have to make a substantial “donation” to the fire company to help to off set the inconvenience. As retired senior citizens on a small fixed income that was not easy for us to do.

    At the time we had false fire alarms we were in the house. Had we been away from the house the fire company would have had to break into the house to look for the nonexistent fire and we would have been left to pay for the damage to the house. Again, false alarms are now expected by our neighbors and if there really was a real fire it would be ignored because our history of false alarms and we could burn to death in our own house.

    One of the technicians who had come to the house to inspect the installed equipment told us that Vector was now buying cheap equipment made in China to save costs and malfunctions are not uncommon. This is so irresponsible when people’s property and people’s lives depend on properly installed reliable equipment. Anyone would be wasting their money and would be foolish to think Vector would protect them from anything including water, fire, break-ins, etc. That is not an opinion but a fact. This will be posted to the internet to try to protect others from wasting their money on unreliable security.

    On Sunday 7 Jun, I received a notification on my phone of an a/c power problem. I contacted my local office and reported it and asked to have a tech check it out. On Monday 8Jun, I received another notification that the panel was bad and again called the local office to report it. The tech came to my home today and wasn't aware of the panel outage. He replaced a transformer on the plug but it didn't rectify the problem. Since the panel outage was not noted on the work order, he was not allotted time to replace the panel.

    This company clearly doesn't care about the security of their customers. I'm in my 4th day without my security system and after calling to find out when the panel will now be replaced, was not given any idea of the date the tech would return. This company is getting their fees each month but customer service is not a priority. i wouldn't recommend this company to anyone and fully intend to disconnect this system if my panel is not replaced prior to the weekend. Bottom line, don't waste your money on Vector Security.

    I was having issues with the system communicating with the monitoring station, I called and got an appointment time the following day.     I have had a Vector Security system in my home for over 2 years now. When it was installed the main selling point was I could discontinue the service at any time. When I did call them to discontinue my service I was told I had a one year contract, so be it. Guess I fell victim to deception from their salesman. I told them after a year to remove the system, now I’m being told that I have a three year contract. The other issue is it started out as 40 dollars a month. Now it’s 64.95. I have been laid off due to COVID19. I have asked them repeatedly to discontinue my service to no avail. DO NOT USE VECTOR SECURITY.

    I needed to cancel the service because our HOA was switching to a new master contract with ADT. It took me a substantial amount of time to get to the right people and I still could not. I was bounced from phone number to phone number, left a number of messages. Was not able to get to a live person. Ultimately, I tricked the system and pretended I needed service. I was connected to the live person immediately and she helped with forwarding my e-mail to the right people. It is not right! People need to be able to cancel in a straightforward manner. It is not easy with you! When people need to cancel, they will, they will not give up, so please make it easier for them.
